00:01:39.09\00:01:40.43 Well, you're sending us your questions and comments. 00:01:40.46\00:01:42.43 We love hearing from you each week, 00:01:42.46\00:01:44.80 and we received an enormous amount of questions 00:01:44.83\00:01:47.34 coming in here to the Ministry of 3ABN. 00:01:47.37\00:01:49.64 And it's a blessing to be able to answer these questions. 00:01:49.67\00:01:51.61 We call it kind of rapid fire. 00:01:51.64\00:01:55.04 I don't want to call them the panelists, 00:01:55.08\00:01:56.41 but those that are answering the questions 00:01:56.44\00:01:58.08 have maybe two minutes, sometimes three. 00:01:58.11\00:02:00.28 So this hour goes by in a hurry 00:02:00.32\00:02:02.42 and we try to answer maybe 15, 16, 00:02:02.45\00:02:04.82 maybe even 20 questions. 00:02:04.85\00:02:06.19 Very rarely do we get to 20 questions, 00:02:06.22\00:02:08.16 but it's a blessing to open the Word of God. 00:02:08.19\00:02:11.09 You know, as a kid, I enjoyed collecting stickers, 00:02:11.13\00:02:14.30 I was probably five, six years of age, 00:02:14.36\00:02:16.70 and I would always have the gift 00:02:16.77\00:02:18.10 from time to time the special stickers called 00:02:18.13\00:02:20.54 Scratch and Sniff, you remember those? 00:02:20.57\00:02:23.17 Well, I remember that maybe 40 years ago or so. 00:02:23.20\00:02:26.68 And the one that I really liked 00:02:26.71\00:02:28.04 was one that when you scratched it, 00:02:28.08\00:02:30.25 it would smell like strawberries and cream. 00:02:30.28\00:02:33.28 Well, I like strawberries and I like cream. 00:02:33.31\00:02:36.05 But the problem is it smelled so good 00:02:36.08\00:02:38.79 that when I would taste the edge of the sticker, 00:02:38.82\00:02:42.09 it didn't taste like strawberries and cream. 00:02:42.12\00:02:45.03 Pretty disappointing to a little fellow. 00:02:45.06\00:02:47.20 But I'm... 00:02:47.23\00:02:48.53 You're saying, well, how does that correlate 00:02:48.56\00:02:49.90 to Bible Q and A? 00:02:49.93\00:02:51.27 Well, let me encourage you because the Word of God 00:02:51.30\00:02:52.80 in Psalms Chapter 34, I think verse 8 says, 00:02:52.83\00:02:56.34 "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good." 00:02:56.37\00:03:00.48 Right? 00:03:00.51\00:03:01.84 So we can taste and see that the Lord is good. 00:03:01.88\00:03:03.21 A lot of times we can take Bible knowledge in, 00:03:03.24\00:03:05.88 just Bible knowledge in, 00:03:05.91\00:03:07.62 but to experience the Lord Jesus Christ, 00:03:07.65\00:03:09.95 that's something different. 00:03:09.98\00:03:11.32 So these Bible Q and A programs, 00:03:11.35\00:03:13.29 it's great to get the knowledge and to just have it all inside, 00:03:13.32\00:03:15.66 but we also must share it, 00:03:15.69\00:03:17.43 but also experiences so that Christ becomes a part 00:03:17.46\00:03:20.50 as we become a part of Jesus Christ. 00:03:20.53\00:03:23.26 I want to encourage you today to taste and see 00:03:23.30\00:03:26.20 that the Lord is good. 00:03:26.23\00:03:28.27 Well, my name is Greg Morikone, 00:03:28.30\00:03:29.87 and I'm joined here on the set with Pastor James Rafferty. 00:03:29.90\00:03:32.47 So good to have you here with us today, Sir. 00:03:32.51\00:03:33.94 Good to be here, Greg, pleasure. 00:03:33.98\00:03:35.64 It's a blessing to open the Word of God, isn't it? 00:03:35.68\00:03:37.31 Amen, so powerful, so beautiful. 00:03:37.35\00:03:39.51 Why does the Word of God mean something to you? 00:03:39.55\00:03:41.52 Word of God mean something to me 00:03:41.55\00:03:42.88 because it's transformational, it changes our lives. 00:03:42.92\00:03:45.72 You know, the words do change our lives, they impact us, 00:03:45.75\00:03:48.09 you know, people speak words, and they do impact us. 00:03:48.12\00:03:50.59 The Word of God is more powerful 00:03:50.63\00:03:52.73 than anyone else's words 00:03:52.76\00:03:54.10 to transform and change our lives in our hearts. 00:03:54.13\00:03:55.73 Incredible, isn't it? 00:03:55.76\00:03:57.10 The Word of God. 00:03:57.13\00:03:58.47 Praise the Lord. 00:03:58.50\00:03:59.83 Sitting next to you is Jason Bradley. 00:03:59.87\00:04:01.34 Good to have you here with us, neighbor, my neighbor. 00:04:01.37\00:04:03.97 Our offices are diagonal from each other. 00:04:04.01\00:04:05.61 That's right. It's great to be here. 00:04:05.64\00:04:07.34 And, you know, when you taste and see that the Lord is good, 00:04:07.38\00:04:09.98 you end up being just blown away 00:04:10.01\00:04:12.81 in such a good way 00:04:12.85\00:04:14.18 because the Word of God is so much better 00:04:14.22\00:04:17.55 than what we could ever think or imagine. 00:04:17.59\00:04:19.69 Absolutely. 00:04:19.72\00:04:21.06 You know, when we ingest food, 00:04:21.12\00:04:22.46 I'm taking just food 'cause I know you like food. 00:04:22.49\00:04:23.83 I love it. Yeah. 00:04:23.86\00:04:25.19 Okay. No to smell it, that's good. 00:04:25.23\00:04:26.56 But actually have it part of you. 00:04:26.59\00:04:27.93 It gives you nutrition, right? 00:04:27.96\00:04:29.43 It makes you who you are. 00:04:29.46\00:04:30.80 That's right. That's right. 00:04:30.83\00:04:32.17 Sitting next to you is Shelley Quinn. 00:04:32.20\00:04:33.57 Good to have you here with us, Sister. 00:04:33.60\00:04:34.94 It's so wonderful to be here. 00:04:34.97\00:04:36.30 I think of your conversations 00:04:36.34\00:04:37.94 making me think of when Jesus said, 00:04:37.97\00:04:40.24 "Man shall not live by bread alone, 00:04:40.31\00:04:42.44 but by every word of God." 00:04:42.48\00:04:45.98 And you know, the wonderful thing 00:04:46.01\00:04:47.65 about God's Word to me is it's inexhaustible. 00:04:47.68\00:04:51.42 I could study the same chapter. 00:04:51.45\00:04:53.69 You could stay in Romans 8 for a year 00:04:53.72\00:04:55.82 and be learning something new every day. 00:04:55.86\00:04:58.06 Yeah. Isn't that amazing? 00:04:58.09\00:04:59.43 It is. 00:04:59.46\00:05:00.96 It's inexhaustible, 00:05:00.96\00:05:02.30 I think was beautiful too as, as a child 00:05:02.33\00:05:03.67 my parents would read the Bible to me. 00:05:03.70\00:05:05.03 And I could understand some of the stories 00:05:05.07\00:05:06.40 right as a small child, 00:05:06.43\00:05:07.77 but yet it also challenges the greatest scholar, 00:05:07.80\00:05:09.77 the Bible. 00:05:09.80\00:05:11.14 So it's just absolutely incredible. 00:05:11.17\00:05:12.64 So we're encouraging you again to study the Word of God. 00:05:12.67\00:05:15.04 Make it a part of your life. 00:05:15.08\00:05:17.18 I want to encourage you to send your questions 00:05:17.21\00:05:19.15 or comments to 3ABN. 00:05:19.18\00:05:20.55 You can do it several different ways. 00:05:20.58\00:05:22.22 One is through BibleQA@3abn.TV that's email. 00:05:22.25\00:05:26.76 BibleQA@3abn.TV email 00:05:26.79\00:05:30.26 or you can text us your questions 00:05:30.29\00:05:32.36 or comments at (618) 228-3975. 00:05:32.39\00:05:36.97 And I also have the Instagram. 00:05:40.17\00:05:41.87 We do have some even today 00:05:41.90\00:05:43.27 that have come in through Instagram. 00:05:43.30\00:05:44.87 That's 3abn_official 00:05:44.91\00:05:49.94 So we encourage you to send in your questions 00:05:49.98\00:05:51.91 and comments here to 3ABN, 00:05:51.95\00:05:53.82 but before we open the Word of God, 00:05:53.85\00:05:55.58 let's open with word of prayer. 00:05:55.62\00:05:56.99 Brother Jason? Yeah. 00:05:57.02\00:05:58.35 Thank you, 00:05:58.39\00:05:59.72 Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You 00:05:59.75\00:06:01.16 for the wonderful privilege and opportunity 00:06:01.19\00:06:03.12 that we have to go to Your Word for instruction. 00:06:03.16\00:06:06.09 Father, there's so many answers found in Your Word, 00:06:06.13\00:06:09.83 principles that we need 00:06:09.86\00:06:11.37 and, Lord, we just ask that You would guide us 00:06:11.40\00:06:14.64 and give us a clearer mind as we share the answers 00:06:14.67\00:06:18.01 from Your Word with our viewers. 00:06:18.04\00:06:20.04 We thank You for hearing this prayer. 00:06:20.08\00:06:21.41 In Jesus' name we pray, amen. 00:06:21.44\00:06:22.78 Amen. 00:06:22.81\00:06:24.55 Thank you so much, Jason. 00:06:24.58\00:06:26.55 Pastor James, gonna start with you. 00:06:26.58\00:06:28.05 Okay. 00:06:28.08\00:06:29.42 Now, this question comes from Boston. 00:06:29.45\00:06:31.19 So must be the state of Massachusetts, says, 00:06:31.22\00:06:33.96 "Can you please explain Ezekiel Chapter 9, 00:06:33.99\00:06:37.03 and Revelation 16-18. 00:06:37.06\00:06:39.76 Are these two prophecies different judgments poured out 00:06:39.79\00:06:43.00 on the earth and when? 00:06:43.03\00:06:44.87 Okay, really good questions, Ezekiel 9 and Revelation 16-18 00:06:44.90\00:06:49.60 are actually parallel prophecies. 00:06:49.64\00:06:51.94 Ezekiel 9 is talking about the seven last plagues 00:06:51.97\00:06:55.81 from a different perspective 00:06:55.84\00:06:57.25 than Revelation Chapters 15 and 16, 00:06:57.31\00:07:00.45 17 and 18 are kind of supplemental to 15 and 16, 00:07:00.48\00:07:03.89 15 and 16 are talking specifically about the plagues 00:07:03.92\00:07:06.86 barring the song of Moses and the Lamb. 00:07:06.89\00:07:08.89 And then 17 and 18 give us some specifics about 00:07:08.92\00:07:12.26 the powers that are going to receive these plagues. 00:07:12.29\00:07:14.20 Specifically, the powers of Babylon 00:07:14.20\00:07:16.00 and those who received the mark of the beast 00:07:16.03\00:07:17.93 were deceived by them. 00:07:17.97\00:07:19.30 Ezekiel 9 gives us a different perspective. 00:07:19.33\00:07:20.90 So we're going to look there in Ezekiel 9, 00:07:20.94\00:07:22.50 just read a few verses together. 00:07:22.54\00:07:24.47 Ezekiel 9 beginning with verse 1, 00:07:24.51\00:07:26.04 "He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, 00:07:26.07\00:07:28.94 Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, 00:07:28.98\00:07:32.25 even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand." 00:07:32.28\00:07:34.92 Those destroying weapons are symbolic of the plagues. 00:07:34.95\00:07:37.85 "And, behold, six men 00:07:37.89\00:07:39.22 came from the way of the higher gate, 00:07:39.25\00:07:40.59 which lies toward the north, 00:07:40.62\00:07:42.09 every man a slaughter weapon in his hand, 00:07:42.12\00:07:44.29 and one man among them was clothed with linen, 00:07:44.33\00:07:46.70 with a writer's inkhorn by his side: 00:07:46.73\00:07:48.76 and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar." 00:07:48.80\00:07:52.10 So you got the writer's inkhorn here 00:07:52.13\00:07:53.64 that's not really in 15 and 16. 00:07:53.67\00:07:56.04 When the plagues are poured out, 00:07:56.07\00:07:57.44 the writer's inkhorn work has already taken place. 00:07:57.47\00:07:59.91 That writer's inkhorn work is Revelation Chapter 7, 00:07:59.94\00:08:03.04 the seal of God. 00:08:03.08\00:08:04.71 "And the glory of the Lord of Israel 00:08:04.75\00:08:06.75 was gone up from the cherub, 00:08:06.78\00:08:08.12 whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. 00:08:08.18\00:08:10.15 And he called to the man clothed in linen 00:08:10.19\00:08:11.79 which had the writer's inkhorn by his side. 00:08:11.82\00:08:13.82 And the Lord said unto him, 00:08:13.86\00:08:15.19 Go through the midst of the city, 00:08:15.22\00:08:16.56 through the midst of Jerusalem, 00:08:16.59\00:08:17.93 and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men 00:08:17.99\00:08:19.63 that sigh and cry for all the abominations done 00:08:19.66\00:08:22.03 in the midst thereof." 00:08:22.06\00:08:23.40 That's the sealing of God's people 00:08:23.43\00:08:24.80 who are faithful to Him, 00:08:24.83\00:08:26.17 and then the others follow. 00:08:26.20\00:08:27.54 "And he said in mine hearing destroy, 00:08:27.57\00:08:29.54 and slay utterly old." 00:08:29.57\00:08:31.14 Ezekiel ends up crying out, 00:08:31.17\00:08:33.51 can you not spit pity and spare some? 00:08:33.54\00:08:36.34 And God says, No, nope, 00:08:36.38\00:08:37.88 they passed their probation, it's closed. 00:08:37.91\00:08:40.42 Everyone is going to be staying that doesn't have the seal, 00:08:40.45\00:08:43.49 the writer's inkhorn mark, 00:08:43.52\00:08:44.89 the word for mark is also the same word in Exodus 20, 00:08:44.92\00:08:49.49 where it says, "Remember the Sabbath day, 00:08:49.52\00:08:50.86 mark the Sabbath day." 00:08:50.89\00:08:52.23 So the seal of God, the mark of God, 00:08:52.26\00:08:53.93 here synonymous with the Sabbath, 00:08:53.96\00:08:55.93 and those who are sealed in Jerusalem in the church 00:08:55.96\00:08:58.43 who come into the church or a part of the church 00:08:58.47\00:09:00.44 are not going to be slain by the seven last plagues, 00:09:00.47\00:09:02.70 or symbolized here by destroying angels. 00:09:02.74\00:09:06.78 Pastor James, praise the Lord, in two minutes. 00:09:06.81\00:09:09.44 Yeah, that's incredible. Thank you, though. 00:09:09.48\00:09:10.81 Great answer, and good question. 00:09:10.88\00:09:12.61 Thank you so much. 00:09:12.65\00:09:14.05 Jason, this is a neat question. 00:09:14.08\00:09:15.88 This comes from South Africa. 00:09:15.92\00:09:18.22 And this is really neat, because we do hear from you 00:09:18.25\00:09:20.02 from all over the world. 00:09:20.06\00:09:21.39 So South Africa, and it says, 00:09:21.42\00:09:23.56 "My wife and I have decided not to have children 00:09:23.59\00:09:27.03 because of a number of reasons. 00:09:27.03\00:09:28.40 One being that since we married late, 00:09:28.43\00:09:30.90 me being 35 years of age, and she 38. 00:09:30.97\00:09:33.47 We feel we're too late to have children 00:09:33.50\00:09:35.27 and also the instability of the current world 00:09:35.30\00:09:38.11 makes life too uncertain. 00:09:38.14\00:09:40.01 I wish to know if making that decision is a sin 00:09:40.04\00:09:43.58 against maybe being that we don't have faith in God 00:09:43.61\00:09:47.12 that He will take care of us or something. 00:09:47.15\00:09:48.95 Please help!" 00:09:48.98\00:09:52.69 Well, I can say that I am the same age as you. 00:09:52.72\00:09:55.66 I'm 35 years old and I definitely understand 00:09:55.69\00:09:58.23 your concern regarding having children 00:09:58.26\00:10:00.60 at this time in earth's history. 00:10:00.63\00:10:03.57 I often find myself contemplating the same thing 00:10:03.60\00:10:06.00 if I want to bring kids into this wild, 00:10:06.03\00:10:09.67 wild world. 00:10:09.70\00:10:12.04 And I don't know, but I think that 00:10:12.07\00:10:15.11 you and your wife have some legitimate concerns. 00:10:15.14\00:10:17.65 You've got some health concerns with the age 00:10:17.71\00:10:19.58 and all of that stuff as well. 00:10:19.61\00:10:21.38 But having said that, whether you have kids or not, 00:10:21.42\00:10:25.82 it's not a sin to forego having children. 00:10:25.85\00:10:29.69 So let's take a look at what sin is. 00:10:29.72\00:10:31.86 1 John 3:4 says, 00:10:31.89\00:10:34.46 "Whosoever committed sin transgresseth also the law: 00:10:34.46\00:10:39.37 for sin is the transgression of the law." 00:10:39.40\00:10:43.14 Well, what is God's law? 00:10:43.17\00:10:45.54 The Ten Commandments. 00:10:45.57\00:10:46.94 Nowhere in the Ten Commandments does it say 00:10:46.98\00:10:49.58 that you have to have children. 00:10:49.61\00:10:52.01 Some people aren't able to have children, 00:10:52.05\00:10:54.35 some people choose not to get married, 00:10:54.38\00:10:56.45 and it's not a sin not to get married, 00:10:56.48\00:11:00.29 and forego having children. 00:11:00.32\00:11:02.16 Now notice I didn't say not to get married 00:11:02.19\00:11:04.29 and then have children. 00:11:04.33\00:11:05.66 That's not right. That is a sin. 00:11:05.69\00:11:08.03 It's not a sin to forego getting married 00:11:08.06\00:11:11.40 and not having children either. 00:11:11.43\00:11:14.67 Another thing to consider is what Jesus says 00:11:14.70\00:11:17.17 in Matthew 24:19, 00:11:17.21\00:11:21.04 "But woe to those who are pregnant, 00:11:21.11\00:11:23.35 and to those who are nursing babies in those days." 00:11:23.38\00:11:27.02 Now, when parents get kids ready 00:11:27.05\00:11:29.12 to travel and all of that stuff. 00:11:29.15\00:11:31.05 It's a huge task preparing them for that. 00:11:31.12\00:11:35.22 So I can't even imagine trying to prepare a child to flee 00:11:35.26\00:11:40.26 during the Great Tribulation, 00:11:40.30\00:11:41.73 time of trouble and all of that, 00:11:41.76\00:11:43.13 that would be incredibly tough. 00:11:43.16\00:11:44.87 Not to mention that a mother who's pregnant and nursing, 00:11:44.90\00:11:48.67 she's eating for two, 00:11:48.70\00:11:50.04 so that his food's kind of hard to come by at that time, too. 00:11:50.07\00:11:54.11 But it's a decision that must prayerfully be considered, 00:11:54.18\00:11:57.88 but know that you're not breaking 00:11:57.95\00:11:59.31 any of God's law 00:11:59.35\00:12:01.08 by not having children. 00:12:01.12\00:12:02.82 Okay. Yeah. 00:12:02.85\00:12:04.22 Thank you so much, Jason, for that answer. 00:12:04.25\00:12:05.59 And yeah, good question, as well. 00:12:05.62\00:12:08.72 Shelley, this comes from London, 00:12:08.76\00:12:11.56 and from Shireen. 00:12:11.59\00:12:13.36 "I've been told that the Godhead and divinity 00:12:13.40\00:12:16.33 are not one in the same. 00:12:16.36\00:12:18.40 I thought that the Godhead is divinity. 00:12:18.43\00:12:20.94 I was given the following scriptures 00:12:20.97\00:12:22.57 to read and here they are, Acts 17:29, 00:12:22.60\00:12:26.24 Romans 1:20, and Colossians 2:9, 00:12:26.27\00:12:31.55 and they say in the Strong's Concordance 00:12:31.58\00:12:33.21 the Greek shows the words as slightly different 00:12:33.25\00:12:36.15 but meaning from divinity or godlike in one. 00:12:36.18\00:12:39.09 Could you please explain? 00:12:39.12\00:12:40.59 Now I'm confused." 00:12:40.62\00:12:42.92 Well, let's see if I can confuse you more. 00:12:42.96\00:12:45.49 Now I studied this for 90 minutes 00:12:45.53\00:12:48.40 to get a two minute answer. 00:12:48.43\00:12:49.76 Let me give you the Greek, theos in the Greek. 00:12:49.80\00:12:54.00 T-H-E-O-S means God. 00:12:54.04\00:12:57.01 Theiotes is the divine personhood, 00:12:57.04\00:13:01.68 the Godhead. 00:13:01.71\00:13:03.65 And that's derived from theos, then theios, 00:13:03.68\00:13:09.62 T-H-E-I-O-S is the divine nature. 00:13:09.65\00:13:14.26 This is the word that divinity, 00:13:14.29\00:13:17.93 theiotes is the divine nature, 00:13:17.96\00:13:21.46 and qualities or properties of God. 00:13:21.50\00:13:23.40 So let's look at this. 00:13:23.43\00:13:24.77 Colossians 2:9, 00:13:24.83\00:13:26.17 "In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, bodily. 00:13:26.20\00:13:30.14 This is theiotes, this is the Godhead, 00:13:30.17\00:13:33.34 it speaks that of Christ. 00:13:33.38\00:13:36.98 It speaks of the essential, divine essence of the Godhead, 00:13:37.01\00:13:42.48 that is in Christ, the divine personality of God, 00:13:42.52\00:13:46.42 the very essence of God was in Christ 00:13:46.45\00:13:49.92 before He was coroneted 00:13:49.96\00:13:51.89 during His incarnation and still. 00:13:51.93\00:13:54.93 Then we get to Romans 1:20. 00:13:54.96\00:13:57.63 This is theiotes and it's talking about, 00:13:57.70\00:14:02.64 Paul's declaring how much God can be known 00:14:02.67\00:14:07.58 by the revelation of His divine characters, 00:14:07.64\00:14:11.31 His divinity is. 00:14:11.35\00:14:13.55 You see the vestige of His divine nature 00:14:13.58\00:14:16.12 and everything that He can create, 00:14:16.15\00:14:18.62 and we can trace that. 00:14:18.65\00:14:20.52 Divinity is theiotes, 00:14:20.56\00:14:24.99 and it's derived from theios 00:14:25.03\00:14:28.23 which is means divine. 00:14:28.26\00:14:30.03 Am I confusing you yet? 00:14:30.07\00:14:32.03 So theiotes is the attributes of God. 00:14:32.07\00:14:35.87 Then Acts 17:29, 00:14:35.90\00:14:38.17 Paul's speaking to the Greek philosophers 00:14:38.24\00:14:41.01 on Mars Hill, and the word is theios, 00:14:41.04\00:14:45.11 which means divine. 00:14:45.15\00:14:47.18 And he uses the article the, 00:14:47.22\00:14:50.79 which shows that this is the Godhead, 00:14:50.82\00:14:53.59 the deity, the one true God. 00:14:53.62\00:14:57.16 So the actual word is to theion 00:14:57.19\00:15:02.20 which is divine nature. 00:15:02.23\00:15:04.40 Bottom line is you're right. 00:15:04.43\00:15:07.10 The Godhead and divinity, 00:15:07.14\00:15:09.94 divine nature are, 00:15:09.97\00:15:13.24 all of these three scriptures are talking about God. 00:15:13.27\00:15:16.04 Yeah, that's right. 00:15:16.08\00:15:17.41 All those three that she mentioned there. 00:15:17.45\00:15:18.78 Yeah, absolutely. 00:15:18.81\00:15:20.15 Thank you so much, Shelley. 00:15:20.18\00:15:21.55 Pastor James, question here from Lorenzo, 00:15:21.58\00:15:24.52 coming from Oregon, 00:15:24.55\00:15:25.89 which is kind of your stomping grounds territory. 00:15:25.92\00:15:28.59 Yeah, that's right. 00:15:28.62\00:15:29.96 "In 1 Peter 3-19, 00:15:29.99\00:15:31.66 what is meant by the spirits in prison 00:15:31.69\00:15:34.56 who were formerly disobedient?" 00:15:34.60\00:15:36.90 That is challenging question, Lorenzo. 00:15:36.93\00:15:40.74 So these spirits are actually talking about people. 00:15:40.77\00:15:43.84 Prison is talking about a certain time frame 00:15:43.87\00:15:48.08 where we have captivity taking place. 00:15:48.11\00:15:50.25 And so this is specifically talking about 00:15:50.28\00:15:52.35 the antediluvian age. 00:15:52.38\00:15:53.88 And it's talking about the time 00:15:53.92\00:15:55.25 when the Holy Spirit was seeking 00:15:55.28\00:15:57.62 to convict the antediluvians 00:15:57.69\00:15:59.39 to listen to the message of Noah. 00:15:59.42\00:16:01.22 Let's just read the scriptures, starting in verse 18, 00:16:01.26\00:16:03.89 "For Christ also has one suffered for sins, 00:16:03.93\00:16:06.73 the just for the unjust, 00:16:06.76\00:16:08.10 that he might bring us to God being 00:16:08.13\00:16:09.76 put to death in the flesh, 00:16:09.80\00:16:11.17 but quickened by the Spirit." 00:16:11.20\00:16:12.57 Verse 19, here's the key transition, 00:16:12.60\00:16:14.67 "By which, that is, by the Spirit, the Holy Spirit 00:16:14.74\00:16:18.61 also he went and preached under the spirits in prison." 00:16:18.64\00:16:21.68 So this is going back to the antediluvian age. 00:16:21.71\00:16:25.05 We'll see that in a minute. 00:16:25.08\00:16:26.51 And it says in verse 20, 00:16:26.55\00:16:27.92 "Which sometime were disobedient, 00:16:27.95\00:16:29.78 when once the longsuffering of God 00:16:29.82\00:16:32.65 waited in the days of Noah." 00:16:32.69\00:16:34.79 So that's where we get the antediluvian connection 00:16:34.86\00:16:37.26 from, right there the days of Noah 00:16:37.29\00:16:39.29 is when the Holy Spirit was preaching, 00:16:39.33\00:16:41.36 that God Christ sent His Holy Spirit to preach 00:16:41.40\00:16:44.63 to those who were disobedient 00:16:44.67\00:16:47.10 to those who were imprisoned in this disobedience 00:16:47.14\00:16:49.70 back in the days of Noah, 00:16:49.74\00:16:51.47 while the ark was preparing were in few that is eight souls 00:16:51.51\00:16:55.54 were saved by water. 00:16:55.58\00:16:57.71 So if you go back to Genesis 6:3, 00:16:57.75\00:17:00.92 we have this connection that's being made here. 00:17:00.95\00:17:03.42 God is speaking to Noah and the Lord said, 00:17:03.45\00:17:05.39 "My Spirit shall not always strive with man, 00:17:05.42\00:17:09.02 for that he is also flesh, 00:17:09.06\00:17:10.69 yet his days will be 120 years." 00:17:10.73\00:17:13.36 Noah preached for 120 years through the Holy Spirit, 00:17:13.40\00:17:16.30 excuse me, yes, through the Holy Spirit. 00:17:16.33\00:17:17.93 God's Holy Spirit worked through Noah 00:17:17.97\00:17:19.77 to preach for 120 years to those who are captive, 00:17:19.80\00:17:22.24 who imprisoned, the antediluvians. 00:17:22.27\00:17:25.01 He was, 2 Peter 2:5 says, 00:17:25.07\00:17:27.04 "He was a preacher of righteousness." 00:17:27.08\00:17:28.64 So you want Genesis 6:3, 2 Peter 2:5. 00:17:28.68\00:17:31.95 And, of course, humans are often likened to spirits, 00:17:32.01\00:17:35.88 good spirits, bad spirits. 00:17:35.92\00:17:37.25 We see that in John Chapter 3, where Christ says, 00:17:37.29\00:17:40.72 "He that's born of water, 00:17:40.76\00:17:42.09 and he that's born of spirit, etc." 00:17:42.12\00:17:43.79 And then we see. 00:17:43.83\00:17:45.39 And by the way, I wish I had time to cover all this, 00:17:45.43\00:17:47.60 but then we see 00:17:47.66\00:17:50.33 the word for... 00:17:50.37\00:17:54.37 Let me just go back here. 00:17:54.40\00:17:55.84 The word for... 00:17:55.87\00:17:59.34 The word for prison is watch, 00:17:59.37\00:18:01.41 and it comes from a root, root meaning root word, 00:18:01.48\00:18:03.88 meaning race or clan. 00:18:03.91\00:18:05.61 So the prison is not just this, like place 00:18:05.65\00:18:08.52 where people are thrown into with bars. 00:18:08.58\00:18:10.69 It's talking about the clan, 00:18:10.72\00:18:12.72 or the race of the antediluvian. 00:18:12.75\00:18:14.39 So I hope that answered your question. 00:18:14.42\00:18:15.76 Wow! It's good. 00:18:15.79\00:18:17.13 Thank you so much. That's a good answer. 00:18:17.16\00:18:18.49 Yeah, absolutely. Good question. 00:18:18.53\00:18:19.86 You know, it's, I have to say it's encouraging 00:18:19.89\00:18:21.23 to receive these questions 00:18:21.26\00:18:22.60 and people are studying the Word of God have questions. 00:18:22.63\00:18:24.63 And thank you for submitting them 00:18:24.70\00:18:26.27 to us here at 3ABN. 00:18:26.30\00:18:27.64 Jason, this one comes from the Instagram, 00:18:27.67\00:18:30.17 one of our social media sites. 00:18:30.21\00:18:31.97 And Abigail, thank you so much for submitting this. 00:18:32.04\00:18:35.01 Why did, what did excuse me, 00:18:35.04\00:18:37.11 "What did Christ mean when He said to the Jews, 00:18:37.15\00:18:39.91 you will not see me again until you say 00:18:39.95\00:18:42.92 blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord?" 00:18:42.95\00:18:46.72 All right. 00:18:46.76\00:18:48.09 Abigail, let's look at the preceding verses 00:18:48.12\00:18:50.73 to gain some context. 00:18:50.76\00:18:52.09 Good. 00:18:52.13\00:18:53.46 Matthew 23:1, where we see Jesus 00:18:53.50\00:18:56.80 speaking to the multitudes 00:18:56.83\00:18:58.17 and to His disciples calling out the scribes 00:18:58.20\00:19:01.10 and Pharisees. 00:19:01.14\00:19:02.87 We're going to jump down to Matthew 23:34-39, 00:19:02.90\00:19:08.41 "Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, 00:19:08.44\00:19:11.68 wise men, and scribes: 00:19:11.71\00:19:14.02 some of them you will kill and crucify, 00:19:14.05\00:19:16.28 and some of them you will scourge 00:19:16.32\00:19:17.95 in your synagogues 00:19:18.02\00:19:19.49 and persecute from city to city, 00:19:19.52\00:19:22.02 that on you may come 00:19:22.09\00:19:23.46 all the righteous bloodshed on the earth, 00:19:23.49\00:19:26.23 from the blood of righteous 00:19:26.26\00:19:28.40 Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah..." 00:19:28.43\00:19:32.43 I might be saying that wrong. 00:19:32.47\00:19:33.80 You're saying right. 00:19:33.84\00:19:35.17 Okay, well, we'll go with that. 00:19:35.24\00:19:36.57 "Whom you murdered 00:19:36.60\00:19:37.94 between the temple and the altar. 00:19:37.97\00:19:39.94 Assuredly, I say to you, all these things 00:19:39.97\00:19:42.78 will come upon this generation." 00:19:42.81\00:19:45.91 In Matthew 23:37-39 00:19:45.95\00:19:50.99 speaks of how Jesus wanted to protect the people 00:19:51.02\00:19:54.76 of Jerusalem, but they rejected Him. 00:19:54.79\00:19:57.63 So He told them that He was going to be leaving 00:19:57.66\00:20:00.83 through His crucifixion 00:20:00.86\00:20:02.16 and they would not see Him again until His return. 00:20:02.20\00:20:06.07 Let's look at verse 37 through 39, 00:20:06.10\00:20:08.54 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, 00:20:08.60\00:20:10.27 the one who kills the prophets 00:20:10.31\00:20:12.11 and stones those who are sent to her! 00:20:12.14\00:20:14.84 How often I wanted to gather your children together, 00:20:14.88\00:20:18.11 as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, 00:20:18.15\00:20:21.38 but you were not willing! 00:20:21.42\00:20:23.02 See! 00:20:23.05\00:20:24.39 Your house is left to you desolate; 00:20:24.42\00:20:26.72 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 00:20:26.76\00:20:30.76 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'" 00:20:30.79\00:20:34.30 So at the time of His Second Coming, 00:20:34.36\00:20:36.50 He's kind of talking about His Second Coming there. 00:20:36.53\00:20:39.33 And, you know, it's in trust, 00:20:39.37\00:20:41.60 like Jesus wants to save so many people 00:20:41.67\00:20:44.37 as many people as possible. 00:20:44.41\00:20:46.44 We shouldn't reject Him. 00:20:46.47\00:20:48.11 That's right. Amen. 00:20:48.14\00:20:49.48 Yeah. 00:20:49.51\00:20:50.85 Thank you, Jason. 00:20:50.88\00:20:52.21 Shelley, this one comes from Jacqueline in Indiana. 00:20:52.25\00:20:55.55 "If it was prophesied that Christ would be crucified 00:20:55.58\00:20:58.82 in the middle of the week, 00:20:58.85\00:21:00.26 would that not be Wednesday 00:21:00.29\00:21:01.66 opposed to Friday, as believed?" 00:21:01.69\00:21:03.93 Oh, Jacqueline, that's a good... 00:21:03.96\00:21:05.66 I'm glad you brought this question out, 00:21:05.69\00:21:07.30 because some people get confused 00:21:07.30\00:21:09.73 about the prophecy of Jesus dying 00:21:09.76\00:21:12.67 in the middle of the week, 00:21:12.70\00:21:14.04 and the actual day of the crucifixion. 00:21:14.07\00:21:16.40 So let me just start here, Daniel 8-14. 00:21:16.44\00:21:19.17 There's a 2300 year prophecy in Daniel. 00:21:19.21\00:21:22.51 And we believe... 00:21:22.54\00:21:23.88 It's, the Bible shows 00:21:23.91\00:21:25.48 the, it's a day for a year principle. 00:21:25.51\00:21:27.85 So 2300 day prophecy is a 2300 year prophecy. 00:21:27.88\00:21:33.25 Well, in Daniel 9-24-27, 00:21:33.29\00:21:36.79 70 weeks are cut off from this prophecy 00:21:36.83\00:21:40.26 that would be 70 times 7, 490 years 00:21:40.30\00:21:44.03 that are allotted to the Jews and their earthly sanctuary, 00:21:44.07\00:21:49.84 then the rest of the 2300 days are allotted to the Christians 00:21:49.87\00:21:53.94 and the sanctuary in heaven. 00:21:53.98\00:21:56.24 In Daniel 9:24, the angel Gabriel says, 00:21:56.28\00:22:00.38 "Seventy weeks are determined, decreed, cut off, 00:22:00.42\00:22:04.75 for your people and your holy city." 00:22:04.82\00:22:08.59 So what they were supposed to do in these 70 weeks 00:22:08.62\00:22:11.26 is finish the transgression. 00:22:11.29\00:22:13.33 Make an end of sins, bring in righteousness, 00:22:13.36\00:22:17.03 seal up the vision and anoint the Most Holy. 00:22:17.07\00:22:21.54 So this is prophesying 00:22:21.57\00:22:24.71 on this 2300 day timeline. 00:22:24.74\00:22:28.98 The first 490 years, 00:22:29.01\00:22:32.38 we're going to be looking at 69 weeks and then a week, 00:22:32.41\00:22:35.78 and we'll get there. 00:22:35.82\00:22:37.15 So what's happening in Daniel 9:25, 00:22:37.19\00:22:41.56 Gabriel says from the going forth of the command 00:22:41.59\00:22:45.56 to restore and build Jerusalem, 00:22:45.63\00:22:48.93 that happened in 457 BC. 00:22:48.96\00:22:52.27 Until Messiah the Prince, 00:22:52.30\00:22:54.84 there's 7 weeks plus 62 weeks, 00:22:54.90\00:22:58.37 that's 69, 7 plus 62, 00:22:58.41\00:23:02.11 it's 69 of the first 70 weeks. 00:23:02.18\00:23:04.75 So we only have one week that is remaining 00:23:04.78\00:23:09.28 and if you add the first 483 years 00:23:09.32\00:23:14.56 of those 69 weeks to 457 BC. 00:23:14.59\00:23:17.93 You know what it brings us to? 00:23:17.96\00:23:19.63 Right to AD 27 when Jesus was baptized. 00:23:19.66\00:23:23.87 So Daniel 9:26 says, "After the 62 weeks," 00:23:23.90\00:23:27.17 that's 7 plus 62, "Messiah shall be cut off, 00:23:27.20\00:23:32.97 but not for Himself." 00:23:33.01\00:23:34.94 So this is referring to the 70th week 00:23:34.98\00:23:38.65 of that 490 year prophecy 00:23:38.71\00:23:42.22 that centered on Christ and what happened on Calvary. 00:23:42.28\00:23:45.95 And Jesus was cut off not for His own sins 00:23:45.99\00:23:49.62 because He was sinless. 00:23:49.66\00:23:51.03 He was cut off for the sins of others. 00:23:51.06\00:23:54.20 Daniel 9:27, 00:23:54.23\00:23:56.03 once again is talking about this final week. 00:23:56.06\00:23:58.70 And it says, "He shall confirm the covenant 00:23:58.73\00:24:01.74 with many for one week, 00:24:01.77\00:24:03.41 but in the middle of the week, 00:24:03.44\00:24:05.21 he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." 00:24:05.27\00:24:09.48 So that 70th week, 00:24:09.51\00:24:12.45 Jesus minister three and a half years, 00:24:12.48\00:24:15.98 He was crucified 00:24:16.02\00:24:18.19 that the whole Old Covenant system 00:24:18.25\00:24:21.86 of sacrifice came to an end because Hebrews 13:20 00:24:21.92\00:24:25.89 said that He ratified the New Covenant 00:24:25.93\00:24:30.63 with His blood of the eternal covenant. 00:24:30.67\00:24:33.40 Then what happened all that sacrifice, 00:24:33.44\00:24:36.94 all of that was completed and He died 00:24:36.97\00:24:41.74 once for all to bring reconciliation to us all. 00:24:41.81\00:24:46.11 The veil's torn from top to bottom. 00:24:46.15\00:24:48.75 But here's, you know, people say 00:24:48.78\00:24:50.32 what if it's cut off in the middle of the week, 00:24:50.35\00:24:52.22 how do we finish the 70 weeks? 00:24:52.25\00:24:54.52 Hebrews 2:3 says, "How shall we escape 00:24:54.56\00:24:58.16 if we neglect so great a salvation, 00:24:58.19\00:25:00.96 which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, 00:25:01.00\00:25:04.57 and was confirmed to us by those who also heard Him." 00:25:04.60\00:25:09.54 So after Jesus was crucified 00:25:09.57\00:25:12.74 that remaining three and a half years 00:25:12.77\00:25:15.61 of that 70th week, 00:25:15.64\00:25:17.85 the first evangelist went out there 00:25:17.88\00:25:19.88 still preaching to the Jews. 00:25:19.91\00:25:22.78 And at the end of that 70 weeks, 00:25:22.82\00:25:24.82 that time's cut off, 00:25:24.85\00:25:26.59 and I guarantee you the gospel went to the Gentiles. 00:25:26.62\00:25:29.26 All right. 00:25:29.29\00:25:30.63 Thank you, Shelley. 00:25:30.66\00:25:31.99 Some of these questions require 00:25:32.06\00:25:33.40 more than two minutes, don't they? 00:25:33.43\00:25:35.13 Just, you know, I don't know 00:25:35.20\00:25:36.53 if you like behind the scenes stuff or not. 00:25:36.56\00:25:37.90 But we do have our little cards here. 00:25:37.93\00:25:39.27 And we've got a couple little marks 00:25:39.30\00:25:40.64 for the Bible scholars here. 00:25:40.67\00:25:42.47 So you know, we didn't just give us three minutes 00:25:42.50\00:25:44.17 just a little bit more for some of these, 00:25:44.21\00:25:45.54 so we allow that, of course. 00:25:45.61\00:25:47.88 Pastor James, good question here. 00:25:47.91\00:25:49.58 This has to do with perfection. 00:25:49.61\00:25:51.05 Julie from South Dakota, 00:25:51.08\00:25:52.95 "Can we as Christians keep God's law perfectly?" 00:25:52.98\00:25:57.19 That is a great question, Julie from South Dakota, 00:25:57.22\00:26:00.16 and the answer to that question is, yes, emphatically, yes. 00:26:00.19\00:26:04.46 If we can't, 00:26:04.49\00:26:05.89 then this whole great controversy 00:26:05.96\00:26:07.30 that we're involved in is worthless, 00:26:07.30\00:26:10.13 because that's the whole point. 00:26:10.17\00:26:13.10 Satan has brought this accusation 00:26:13.13\00:26:14.94 against God, against Christ, 00:26:14.97\00:26:16.30 that we cannot keep His law perfectly, 00:26:16.34\00:26:18.71 that we can't keep the law of God. 00:26:18.74\00:26:20.31 And the Bible responds, God responds, 00:26:20.34\00:26:23.11 My grace is sufficient for you. 00:26:23.14\00:26:25.28 However, I think there's more to it than that, 00:26:25.35\00:26:28.45 you know, Job was called the perfect man in Job 1:1. 00:26:28.52\00:26:32.92 But in Job Chapter 9, he said, 00:26:32.95\00:26:34.36 you know, if I call myself perfect, 00:26:34.39\00:26:37.03 if I justify myself, my own mouth shall condemn me." 00:26:37.06\00:26:40.36 This is Job 9:20, "If I say I'm perfect, 00:26:40.40\00:26:43.57 I shall also prove me, 00:26:43.60\00:26:45.27 that will also prove me perverse." 00:26:45.33\00:26:47.37 And we see the same basic theme throughout all of the Bible. 00:26:47.40\00:26:50.71 You know, we have men like Isaiah, 00:26:50.74\00:26:52.47 who are prophets of God. 00:26:52.51\00:26:53.98 But when they saw God, 00:26:54.01\00:26:55.34 they felt like they were lost, undone. 00:26:55.38\00:26:58.41 Daniel, a man that was blameless 00:26:58.45\00:27:00.25 even before his political enemies. 00:27:00.28\00:27:01.75 When he saw God, he fell on his face. 00:27:01.78\00:27:03.49 He said, you know, there's nothing good in me. 00:27:03.52\00:27:05.72 John the Revelator saw Jesus Christ, 00:27:05.79\00:27:08.59 he felt and he said, I'm a dead man. 00:27:08.66\00:27:11.23 I'm lost. 00:27:11.26\00:27:12.63 And so we see this dichotomy, if you will, yes, 00:27:12.66\00:27:15.26 we can be perfect, we can keep God's law. 00:27:15.30\00:27:17.43 But when we say we're perfect, when we look at ourselves, 00:27:17.47\00:27:21.14 all we see is imperfection. 00:27:21.17\00:27:22.74 We're overwhelmed with ourselves. 00:27:22.77\00:27:24.31 And that's why we need the righteousness 00:27:24.34\00:27:26.07 of Jesus Christ. 00:27:26.11\00:27:27.44 Yes. Amen. 00:27:27.48\00:27:28.84 That righteousness is our perfection. 00:27:28.88\00:27:30.21 That's why we have perfection before God. 00:27:30.25\00:27:33.21 And if you look through the Bible, 00:27:33.25\00:27:35.62 going toward the end there, 00:27:35.68\00:27:37.02 you're going to find in 1 John 1:6-10 and 2:1-2, 00:27:37.05\00:27:42.12 this balance between not saying that we're without sin, 00:27:42.16\00:27:45.69 because we make Him a liar, and we deceive ourselves. 00:27:45.73\00:27:47.73 But if we confess our sins, 00:27:47.76\00:27:49.23 He's faithful and just to forgive us our sins, 00:27:49.26\00:27:51.33 and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 00:27:51.37\00:27:53.44 1 Corinthians 1:29-31. 00:27:53.47\00:27:56.14 Christ is our justification, 00:27:56.17\00:27:57.51 sanctification and glorification. 00:27:57.54\00:27:58.94 He is our complete righteousness. 00:27:58.97\00:28:01.04 But we of course, live out that righteousness 00:28:01.08\00:28:03.91 by being obedient to Him and keeping His commandments. 00:28:03.95\00:28:06.25 Great answer. 00:28:06.28\00:28:07.62 That was a great answer. 00:28:07.65\00:28:08.98 Yeah, praise the Lord. 00:28:09.02\00:28:10.35 You know, Pastor James, 00:28:10.39\00:28:11.72 I've seen a lot of people get discouraged. 00:28:11.75\00:28:13.09 There's no way so why even try, 00:28:13.12\00:28:15.42 I mean now and then. 00:28:15.46\00:28:16.79 Yeah. 00:28:16.83\00:28:18.16 That's why I tell them, eat the gospel sandwich, 00:28:18.19\00:28:19.86 1 John 1:8-10. 00:28:19.89\00:28:22.06 That's the gospel sandwich. 00:28:22.13\00:28:23.47 Amen. 00:28:23.50\00:28:24.83 It's a beautiful nugget of truth 00:28:24.87\00:28:26.20 that tells us not to be discouraged. 00:28:26.23\00:28:28.57 But have Christ cleanse us from all our sins 00:28:28.60\00:28:30.77 as we confess them to Him. 00:28:30.81\00:28:32.14 And yet at the same time, 00:28:32.17\00:28:33.51 not to deceive ourselves into thinking 00:28:33.54\00:28:34.91 that we're not sinners, we haven't sinned. 00:28:34.94\00:28:36.61 You know, and that's freeing, isn't it? 00:28:36.64\00:28:38.58 I mean, it takes the burden, the pressure off of ourselves 00:28:38.61\00:28:40.88 because we ourselves can't do anything, 00:28:40.92\00:28:42.58 where our righteousness is as filthy rags, 00:28:42.65\00:28:44.75 Christ's righteousness, absolutely perfect. 00:28:44.79\00:28:47.72 So I want to encourage you, you're watching 3ABN. 00:28:47.76\00:28:49.76 Today Bible Q and A. 00:28:49.79\00:28:51.39 You can send your questions or comments here to us. 00:28:51.43\00:28:54.36 Couple of ways you can do that. 00:28:54.36\00:28:55.70 You can email them BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:28:55.73\00:28:59.40 That's BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:28:59.43\00:29:02.44 You can also text us your questions. 00:29:02.50\00:29:04.57 That's (618) 228-3975. 00:29:04.61\00:29:08.51 (618) 228-3975. 00:29:08.54\00:29:11.71 We mentioned Instagram earlier, 00:29:11.75\00:29:13.58 you can send us your questions that way as well. 00:29:13.62\00:29:15.85 That's 3abn_official 00:29:15.88\00:29:18.72 through Instagram you send us your questions or comments. 00:29:18.75\00:29:21.26 It's a blessing to hear from each one of you. 00:29:21.29\00:29:23.83 Wow, time is going by in a hurry. 00:29:23.86\00:29:26.36 Jason, good question here. 00:29:26.39\00:29:29.03 No name, but says, "I know that it says 00:29:29.10\00:29:32.27 to get out of the large cities, 00:29:32.30\00:29:34.37 especially when we see the implementation 00:29:34.40\00:29:36.77 of Sunday laws. 00:29:36.81\00:29:38.61 But financially I'm not able to do this. 00:29:38.64\00:29:41.41 I live in the suburbs in Pennsylvania. 00:29:41.44\00:29:44.05 Am I considered out of the big cities? 00:29:44.08\00:29:46.95 I'm very worried about this and need clarity." 00:29:46.98\00:29:50.09 Okay. 00:29:50.12\00:29:51.45 Wow. 00:29:51.49\00:29:52.82 Well, the short answer is there's no scripture 00:29:52.85\00:29:54.72 that talks about country living being a mandate. 00:29:54.76\00:29:58.73 There are a lot of reasons why country living 00:29:58.76\00:30:01.33 is strongly recommended though, 00:30:01.36\00:30:02.86 so let's look at a few of those, 00:30:02.90\00:30:04.27 better air quality due to less pollution. 00:30:04.30\00:30:07.67 And number two, more room to grow your own food. 00:30:07.70\00:30:10.87 Revelation 13:17, says, 00:30:10.91\00:30:13.54 "And that no one may buy or sell, 00:30:13.58\00:30:16.48 except one who has the mark 00:30:16.51\00:30:18.45 or the name of the beast or the number of his name." 00:30:18.51\00:30:23.02 Since we won't be able to buy or sell, 00:30:23.05\00:30:24.79 being able to grow our own food is important. 00:30:24.82\00:30:28.96 Less distractions which makes it 00:30:29.02\00:30:30.73 easier to focus on God. 00:30:30.76\00:30:34.10 Mark 4:18-19, 00:30:34.10\00:30:37.47 "Now these are the ones sown among thorns, 00:30:37.50\00:30:41.07 they are the ones who hear the word, 00:30:41.10\00:30:43.47 and the cares of this world, 00:30:43.51\00:30:45.24 the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires 00:30:45.27\00:30:48.41 for other things entering in choke the word, 00:30:48.44\00:30:51.51 and it becomes unfruitful." 00:30:51.55\00:30:53.85 In the cities, it's a little bit more tempting 00:30:53.88\00:30:57.69 to keep up with the Joneses, as they say, 00:30:57.72\00:31:01.26 or you see that Ferrari going down the street 00:31:01.29\00:31:03.43 or the Bentley, or you see, 00:31:03.46\00:31:05.39 you know, a lot of money and all of these things, 00:31:05.43\00:31:08.76 and you get caught up on the shiny thing. 00:31:08.83\00:31:10.90 So in the country, there's more nature, 00:31:10.93\00:31:13.44 it's a little bit more peaceful, 00:31:13.47\00:31:15.30 which brings us to our fourth point, 00:31:15.37\00:31:17.41 more natural beauty that points us to our Creator. 00:31:17.44\00:31:21.74 Job 37:14-16, 00:31:21.78\00:31:26.72 "Listen to this, O Job, 00:31:26.75\00:31:28.32 stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. 00:31:28.35\00:31:31.62 Do you know when God dispatches them, 00:31:31.65\00:31:33.96 and causes the light of His cloud to shine? 00:31:33.99\00:31:36.46 Do you know how the clouds are balanced, 00:31:36.49\00:31:38.86 those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?" 00:31:38.89\00:31:44.07 I'll leave you with this final thought. 00:31:44.10\00:31:45.67 I don't know the ins and outs of your particular situation. 00:31:45.70\00:31:48.54 But God delivered the children of Israel 00:31:48.57\00:31:50.87 out of the hands of the Egyptians. 00:31:50.91\00:31:53.31 Philippians 4:6-7, says, "Be anxious for nothing, 00:31:53.34\00:31:58.28 but in everything by prayer and supplication, 00:31:58.31\00:32:01.02 with thanksgiving, 00:32:01.05\00:32:02.38 let your requests be made known to God, 00:32:02.42\00:32:05.15 and the peace of God, 00:32:05.19\00:32:06.99 which surpasses all understanding, 00:32:07.02\00:32:09.39 will guard your hearts and minds 00:32:09.42\00:32:12.06 through Christ Jesus." 00:32:12.09\00:32:13.43 Amen. 00:32:13.46\00:32:14.76 Good answer, Jason. 00:32:14.83\00:32:16.13 You live in the suburbs of Thompsonville. 00:32:16.16\00:32:18.03 The booming metropolis. 00:32:18.07\00:32:19.63 That's right. 00:32:19.67\00:32:22.37 But I have to say though, you're right. 00:32:22.44\00:32:23.77 There's a blessing that we have of working here at 3ABN, 00:32:23.81\00:32:26.01 we're in the country. 00:32:26.04\00:32:27.38 And that does, I like nature. 00:32:27.41\00:32:28.98 There's a lot to learn from nature. Yeah. 00:32:29.01\00:32:30.51 But I like what you said too, 00:32:30.55\00:32:31.88 you know, someone just says, God, here I am. 00:32:31.95\00:32:34.08 Lead me and guide me. 00:32:34.12\00:32:35.45 Yes. He won't leave you. 00:32:35.52\00:32:36.85 So, yeah, thank you for that question. 00:32:36.89\00:32:38.22 Shelly, this comes from Vancouver, Washington. 00:32:38.25\00:32:40.89 "Hello. 00:32:40.92\00:32:42.26 Please help me understand Colossians 2:16." 00:32:42.29\00:32:46.23 Oh, Paul, I am so excited you asked this question. 00:32:46.26\00:32:49.56 This was life changing for me. 00:32:49.60\00:32:51.53 But I'm going to back up 00:32:51.57\00:32:53.30 from verse 16 to Colossians 2:14 00:32:53.34\00:32:57.74 to explain this. 00:32:57.77\00:32:59.11 In Colossians 2:14, it talks about 00:32:59.17\00:33:02.31 that "Jesus wiped out the handwriting of requirements 00:33:02.34\00:33:05.88 that was against us, 00:33:05.95\00:33:07.28 which was contrary to us. 00:33:07.32\00:33:09.62 He's taken it out of the way having nailed it to the cross." 00:33:09.65\00:33:14.69 This handwriting in decrees the darkness's 00:33:14.72\00:33:19.33 was the undoubtedly the Old Covenant. 00:33:19.36\00:33:22.86 We find the Old Covenant, 00:33:22.90\00:33:24.27 the Book of the Covenant, Exodus 24. 00:33:24.30\00:33:27.40 We find it it's a repeat and enlarge in Deuteronomy. 00:33:27.44\00:33:31.54 That's the Book of the Law 00:33:31.57\00:33:32.91 that's also known as the Book of the Covenant. 00:33:32.94\00:33:35.54 And in the Old Covenant, 00:33:35.58\00:33:37.68 there were these curses 00:33:37.71\00:33:39.85 in Deuteronomy 27:14-26. 00:33:39.88\00:33:44.02 He says in Deuteronomy 31:26, "Take this Book of the Law, 00:33:44.05\00:33:49.06 put it beside the ark of the covenant of your God, 00:33:49.12\00:33:51.79 that it may be there as a witness against you." 00:33:51.83\00:33:55.83 That's what God took, Jesus took out of the way. 00:33:55.86\00:33:59.20 There's a parallel passage in Ephesians 2:15 that says 00:33:59.23\00:34:03.00 that Jesus abolished the enmity in His flesh, 00:34:03.04\00:34:08.18 that is the law of commandments contained in ordinances. 00:34:08.21\00:34:12.61 So what got nailed to the cross? 00:34:12.65\00:34:15.25 The Old Covenant. 00:34:15.28\00:34:16.85 Now, Colossians 2:16, your question, 00:34:16.89\00:34:19.45 "Let no one judge you in food or in drink, 00:34:19.49\00:34:21.29 or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths." 00:34:21.32\00:34:24.83 The Old Covenant had a ceremonial system 00:34:24.86\00:34:28.33 of drink offerings and food offerings, festivals, 00:34:28.36\00:34:32.40 annual Sabbaths, like the Feast of Unleavened Bread, 00:34:32.43\00:34:36.37 Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets and Atonement. 00:34:36.40\00:34:39.87 And look what verse 17 says about these. 00:34:39.91\00:34:43.01 They were all a shadow of things to come, 00:34:43.04\00:34:47.05 but the substances of Christ. 00:34:47.08\00:34:49.15 All these annual feast days, all the drink offerings, 00:34:49.18\00:34:52.35 everything about the Old Covenant system 00:34:52.42\00:34:57.09 of worship pointed to Jesus Christ, 00:34:57.13\00:35:00.63 and it ceased when He ratified 00:35:00.66\00:35:02.66 the New Covenant with His blood. 00:35:02.70\00:35:04.13 Amen, Shelley. 00:35:04.17\00:35:05.50 Wow, great answer. 00:35:05.53\00:35:06.87 Thank you so very much. 00:35:06.90\00:35:08.37 Pastor James, this comes from Donna. 00:35:08.40\00:35:10.61 Thank you, Donna. 00:35:10.64\00:35:11.97 You live in Iowa. 00:35:12.01\00:35:13.34 This is your question. 00:35:13.38\00:35:14.71 "Can you explain the Thousand Years of Peace?" 00:35:14.74\00:35:17.11 All right, the Thousand Years of Peace 00:35:17.15\00:35:19.71 is explained to us in Revelation Chapter 20. 00:35:19.78\00:35:22.75 Let's just read a few verses there in Revelation Chapter 20. 00:35:22.78\00:35:25.32 John says, verse 1, "And I saw another angel 00:35:25.35\00:35:28.39 come down from heaven having a key, 00:35:28.42\00:35:30.16 the key of the bottomless pit, 00:35:30.19\00:35:32.16 and a great chain in his hand." 00:35:32.19\00:35:33.53 Verse 2, "He laid hold on the dragon, 00:35:33.56\00:35:35.00 that all serpent which is the Devil and Satan 00:35:35.03\00:35:36.67 and bound him a thousand years, there it is, 00:35:36.70\00:35:39.30 and cast him into the bottomless pit 00:35:39.37\00:35:40.77 and shut him up and set a seal upon him, 00:35:40.80\00:35:42.67 and that he should deceive the nations no more, 00:35:42.74\00:35:45.34 till the thousand years should be fulfilled. 00:35:45.37\00:35:47.71 After that he must be loosed a little season. 00:35:47.74\00:35:50.58 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, 00:35:50.61\00:35:52.58 verse 4, and judgment was given unto them. 00:35:52.65\00:35:54.52 And I saw the souls of them 00:35:54.55\00:35:55.92 that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus 00:35:55.95\00:35:57.55 and the word of God, 00:35:57.59\00:35:58.92 which had not worshiped the beast, 00:35:58.99\00:36:00.39 neither his image, 00:36:00.42\00:36:01.76 neither received his mark upon their foreheads, 00:36:01.79\00:36:03.19 or in their hands. 00:36:03.22\00:36:04.56 And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 00:36:04.59\00:36:06.90 But the rest of the dead lived not again 00:36:06.93\00:36:09.50 until the thousand years were finished. 00:36:09.53\00:36:11.63 This is the first resurrection. 00:36:11.67\00:36:13.67 Blessed and holy is he that has part 00:36:13.70\00:36:15.54 in the first resurrection. 00:36:15.57\00:36:16.97 On such the second death hath no power, 00:36:17.01\00:36:19.61 but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, 00:36:19.64\00:36:22.18 and shall reign with Him a thousand years. 00:36:22.21\00:36:24.25 And when the thousand years are expired, 00:36:24.28\00:36:26.15 Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 00:36:26.18\00:36:28.02 and will go forth to deceive the nations 00:36:28.05\00:36:29.82 which are in the four quarters of the earth, 00:36:29.85\00:36:31.89 Gog and Magog and gather them together to the battle: 00:36:31.92\00:36:34.46 the number of whom is as the sand of the sea." 00:36:34.49\00:36:36.79 Yes. 00:36:36.83\00:36:38.16 So there's no peace in the thousand years, 00:36:38.19\00:36:41.00 because there's nobody on planet earth 00:36:41.03\00:36:42.80 during the thousand years. 00:36:42.86\00:36:44.77 Basically, at the Second Coming of Jesus, 00:36:44.80\00:36:46.60 the righteous are resurrected, and the wicked are slain. 00:36:46.63\00:36:50.94 And all you have left on this earth 00:36:50.97\00:36:53.14 is the devil to look over all of the destruction 00:36:53.17\00:36:55.78 that he's committed 00:36:55.84\00:36:57.18 until the thousand years are over. 00:36:57.21\00:36:58.58 Once the thousand years are over, 00:36:58.61\00:37:00.22 the New Jerusalem city comes down to this earth. 00:37:00.25\00:37:02.65 It is, a second resurrection takes place 00:37:02.68\00:37:05.02 and the wicked surround that city, 00:37:05.05\00:37:06.86 that's why it says Satan goes out to deceive them 00:37:06.89\00:37:08.62 after the thousand years. 00:37:08.66\00:37:10.23 And He surrounds the city with the wicked, 00:37:10.26\00:37:12.53 and then fire comes down from God 00:37:12.56\00:37:13.90 out of heaven and destroys them. 00:37:13.93\00:37:15.23 And that's what the rest of Revelation 20 says. 00:37:15.26\00:37:17.07 The idea that there's going to be thousand years of peace 00:37:17.10\00:37:19.13 on this earth with humans alive is not a biblical teaching. 00:37:19.17\00:37:22.90 It's a very strong teaching of the Catholic Church, 00:37:22.94\00:37:24.71 the one that I was raised in, 00:37:24.74\00:37:26.07 and it fits the agenda that a lot of people have 00:37:26.11\00:37:28.48 for what's going on planet earth right now. 00:37:28.51\00:37:30.25 But it's not in the Bible. 00:37:30.28\00:37:32.31 The thousand years of peace is going to be when we... 00:37:32.35\00:37:35.68 Well, actually let me put it this way 00:37:35.72\00:37:37.25 just to close this out. 00:37:37.29\00:37:38.62 Why would God give us a thousand years of peace 00:37:38.65\00:37:40.62 when He wants to give us an eternity of peace? 00:37:40.66\00:37:42.26 Amen. 00:37:42.32\00:37:43.66 Thousand years is a temporary entrance 00:37:43.69\00:37:45.63 and that eternity of peace 00:37:45.69\00:37:47.03 that we're going to have on this earth 00:37:47.03\00:37:48.36 when the New Jerusalem comes down 00:37:48.40\00:37:49.73 after the thousand years. 00:37:49.76\00:37:51.10 Amen. Wow. 00:37:51.13\00:37:52.47 Oh, that's excellent. Thank you very much. 00:37:52.50\00:37:53.84 Praise the Lord. Good question too. 00:37:53.87\00:37:56.30 Jason, this comes from Neil, 00:37:56.37\00:37:58.11 lives in Los Angeles, California. 00:37:58.14\00:38:00.28 "I've been a Christian for many years. 00:38:00.31\00:38:02.61 In the past, I have backslid. 00:38:02.68\00:38:04.41 And I feel as though my witness to people 00:38:04.45\00:38:06.68 that know me has basically rejected 00:38:06.72\00:38:08.58 because I probably look like a hypocrite, 00:38:08.62\00:38:11.89 beside my own personal seeking of the Lord 00:38:11.92\00:38:14.12 and building back that relationship with Him. 00:38:14.16\00:38:16.12 What can I do to be more effective witness 00:38:16.16\00:38:18.53 to those that don't believe I'm very sincere? 00:38:18.56\00:38:21.83 Many do not understand repentance, forgiveness, 00:38:21.86\00:38:24.77 and the new life that Christ can give, 00:38:24.80\00:38:26.90 even to the backslider?" 00:38:26.94\00:38:30.87 Thank you for your sincere question, Neil. 00:38:30.91\00:38:33.48 Happy that I get a little bit more time 00:38:33.51\00:38:35.71 to spend with you on this one. 00:38:35.74\00:38:37.08 Okay. 00:38:37.11\00:38:38.45 The short answer is, it's going to take time and consistency. 00:38:38.48\00:38:41.08 I'm sure, you've probably heard the saying 00:38:41.12\00:38:43.59 actions speak louder than words. 00:38:43.62\00:38:46.32 We can also see an example of this principle found 00:38:46.35\00:38:49.02 in James Chapter 2. 00:38:49.09\00:38:51.26 James 2:14-19, 00:38:51.29\00:38:55.53 "What does it profit, my brethren, 00:38:55.56\00:38:57.97 if someone says he has faith but does not have works? 00:38:58.00\00:39:02.70 Can faith save him? 00:39:02.74\00:39:04.74 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 00:39:04.77\00:39:08.74 and one of you says to them, 'Depart in peace, 00:39:08.78\00:39:11.65 be warmed and filled, ' 00:39:11.68\00:39:14.08 but you do not give them the things 00:39:14.12\00:39:16.38 which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 00:39:16.45\00:39:19.62 Thus also faith by itself, 00:39:19.65\00:39:22.16 if it does not have works, is dead. 00:39:22.19\00:39:25.56 But someone will say, 00:39:25.59\00:39:26.93 'You have faith, and I have works.' 00:39:26.96\00:39:28.93 Show me your faith without your works, 00:39:28.96\00:39:31.30 and I will show you my faith by my works. 00:39:31.33\00:39:34.67 You believe that there is one God. 00:39:34.70\00:39:36.97 You do well. 00:39:37.01\00:39:38.77 Even the demons believe and tremble!" 00:39:38.81\00:39:41.81 So you kind of have to ask yourself 00:39:41.84\00:39:44.08 what separates us. 00:39:44.11\00:39:45.45 Do we believe and do we act on that belief? 00:39:45.48\00:39:47.95 So our actions louder, speaking louder than our words. 00:39:47.98\00:39:52.49 Our Christian walk should be abundantly evident 00:39:52.52\00:39:57.43 in the way that we choose to live our life. 00:39:57.46\00:39:59.86 We no longer live for ourselves, 00:39:59.93\00:40:01.76 we live for Christ. 00:40:01.80\00:40:03.16 Galatians 2:20, 00:40:03.20\00:40:05.93 "I have been crucified with Christ, 00:40:05.97\00:40:07.94 it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, 00:40:07.97\00:40:12.31 and the life which I now live in the flesh 00:40:12.37\00:40:14.81 I live by faith in the Son of God, 00:40:14.84\00:40:17.35 who loved me and gave Himself for me." 00:40:17.38\00:40:21.15 So I just want to encourage you, 00:40:21.18\00:40:23.18 you know, people have gone down the wrong path, 00:40:23.22\00:40:26.45 you know, we fall down, but we got to get back up, 00:40:26.49\00:40:29.82 we have to get back up. 00:40:29.86\00:40:31.59 And 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, 00:40:31.63\00:40:36.43 He is faithful and just to forgive us 00:40:36.46\00:40:38.80 our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 00:40:38.83\00:40:42.77 So stay consistent, 00:40:42.80\00:40:44.74 living out the principles in the Bible, 00:40:44.77\00:40:47.64 and your associates will see 00:40:47.68\00:40:49.91 that you are a new creature in Christ. 00:40:49.94\00:40:52.78 Amen, Jason. 00:40:52.81\00:40:54.18 Wow. Praise the Lord. 00:40:54.22\00:40:55.55 Great answer. Praise the Lord. 00:40:55.58\00:40:57.25 Well explained. 00:40:57.29\00:40:58.92 Shelley, this comes from Susan, and she lives in Oklahoma. 00:40:58.95\00:41:04.49 Says, "My brother is a devout Baptist 00:41:04.53\00:41:06.83 and believes all a person needs to do 00:41:06.86\00:41:09.16 is believe in Jesus to be saved. 00:41:09.23\00:41:11.80 No obedience to God's law. 00:41:11.83\00:41:13.74 They believe the commandments were nailed to the cross, 00:41:13.77\00:41:16.07 which I know is not truth. 00:41:16.10\00:41:18.24 I know keeping the commandments doesn't save us. 00:41:18.27\00:41:20.61 But I know the New Covenant states 00:41:20.64\00:41:22.41 God will put His law in our minds 00:41:22.44\00:41:24.68 and write them in our hearts. 00:41:24.71\00:41:26.58 Please explain in better detail 00:41:26.61\00:41:28.45 for I pray daily and I'm sorrowful 00:41:28.48\00:41:30.85 because I truly want people to see, 00:41:30.89\00:41:33.32 believe and follow, and she has in caps, 00:41:33.36\00:41:35.56 all caps, FOLLOW THE TRUTH." 00:41:35.59\00:41:37.59 Amen, Susan. 00:41:37.63\00:41:39.06 As we already looked, it was the Old Covenant 00:41:39.09\00:41:42.70 that was nailed to the cross. 00:41:42.73\00:41:44.60 We find that in Exodus 24, in the Book of the Covenant, 00:41:44.63\00:41:48.54 in the Book of Deuteronomy, we've been through that. 00:41:48.57\00:41:51.97 Christ, when Christ ratified the New Covenant. 00:41:52.01\00:41:56.75 Let me ask you a question. 00:41:56.78\00:41:58.48 Did Jesus obey God to become the Son of God? 00:41:58.51\00:42:04.22 Or did He obey God, because He was the Son of God? 00:42:04.25\00:42:07.72 See, we have to realize 00:42:07.76\00:42:12.13 Ephesians 2:8-10 says, 00:42:12.16\00:42:14.03 "We're saved by grace through faith, 00:42:14.10\00:42:15.50 not of works that any should boast, 00:42:15.53\00:42:17.77 but we are saved for good works 00:42:17.80\00:42:19.77 that God prepared in advance that we should do." 00:42:19.80\00:42:22.84 We don't obey to be saved, 00:42:22.87\00:42:25.64 but we obey because we are saved. 00:42:25.67\00:42:27.98 Unfortunately, your brother doesn't understand 00:42:28.01\00:42:31.21 covenant relationship. 00:42:31.25\00:42:33.58 When we look at the Ten Commandments, 00:42:33.62\00:42:36.32 they were the heart of the Old Covenant. 00:42:36.35\00:42:38.79 Everything was, all their civil laws 00:42:38.82\00:42:41.89 or ceremonial laws, 00:42:41.92\00:42:43.26 everything was built around these, 00:42:43.29\00:42:45.59 but they're the heart of the New Covenant, 00:42:45.63\00:42:47.40 Hebrews 8-10 says, this is God speaking. 00:42:47.46\00:42:50.73 "I'm gonna make a covenant with the house of Israel 00:42:50.77\00:42:53.13 after those days. 00:42:53.17\00:42:54.50 I'll put My laws in their mind, write them on their hearts. 00:42:54.54\00:42:56.94 I will be their God, they shall be My people." 00:42:56.97\00:43:00.94 Here's what your brother needs to read, 00:43:00.98\00:43:03.48 1 John 2:2-4. 00:43:03.51\00:43:05.68 By this 1 John 2:3-4, just think, 00:43:05.71\00:43:10.55 1 John 2:3-4. 00:43:10.59\00:43:12.09 I love it. 00:43:12.12\00:43:13.49 Yeah, we need to remember. 00:43:13.52\00:43:14.86 Yes. And it's important to remember. 00:43:14.89\00:43:17.03 By this we know that we know Him 00:43:17.06\00:43:19.73 if we keep His commandments. 00:43:19.76\00:43:21.93 He who says I know Him, 00:43:21.96\00:43:23.73 and does not keep His commandments 00:43:23.77\00:43:26.33 is a liar and the truth is not in him. 00:43:26.37\00:43:29.50 See, God calls us into covenant relationship. 00:43:29.54\00:43:32.77 He makes all the promises. 00:43:32.81\00:43:34.58 But He asks that we reciprocate His love 00:43:34.61\00:43:38.78 that we obey, motivated by love. 00:43:38.81\00:43:41.75 This shows our covenant loyalty. 00:43:41.78\00:43:43.65 Jesus said in John 14:15-17, 00:43:43.69\00:43:47.12 "If you love Me, keep My commandments." 00:43:47.16\00:43:49.26 And if you do this, that's a conditional cause. 00:43:49.32\00:43:53.43 "I will pray the Father, 00:43:53.50\00:43:54.83 He will give you another Helper 00:43:54.83\00:43:57.33 that he may abide in you forever, 00:43:57.37\00:43:59.80 the Spirit of truth." 00:43:59.83\00:44:01.34 God gives the Holy Spirit. 00:44:01.37\00:44:02.87 Acts 5:32 says, "To those who obey Him." 00:44:02.94\00:44:06.31 Amen. 00:44:06.37\00:44:07.71 Shelley, wow, praise the Lord. 00:44:07.74\00:44:09.08 Great answer from the Word of God. 00:44:09.11\00:44:10.81 Pastor James, good question here. 00:44:10.85\00:44:13.88 Basically, they're talking about 00:44:13.92\00:44:15.28 who are asking, "Who are the beasts 00:44:15.32\00:44:17.32 of Revelation Chapter 13?" 00:44:17.35\00:44:19.85 Well, that's a big question. 00:44:19.89\00:44:22.02 Let's just jump right in. 00:44:22.06\00:44:23.43 I see the expression on your face, I know. 00:44:23.46\00:44:24.83 You can two, three minutes. 00:44:24.86\00:44:27.23 Revelation 13:1, I saw another beast... Okay. 00:44:27.23\00:44:29.83 "And I stood upon the sand of the sea 00:44:29.86\00:44:31.20 and I saw a beast rise up out of the sea," 00:44:31.23\00:44:33.34 and here's the clues that we're going to get now, 00:44:33.40\00:44:35.07 "having seven heads and ten horns," 00:44:35.10\00:44:36.91 you got ten horns, 00:44:36.94\00:44:38.27 "and upon his horns ten crowns," 00:44:38.31\00:44:39.84 he got crowns on the horns, 00:44:39.87\00:44:41.24 "and upon his head the name of blasphemy. 00:44:41.28\00:44:43.31 And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, 00:44:43.35\00:44:45.61 his feet were as the feet of a bear, 00:44:45.65\00:44:47.18 his mouth as the mouth of a lion, 00:44:47.22\00:44:48.78 and the dragon gave him his power, 00:44:48.82\00:44:50.85 his seat and great authority." 00:44:50.89\00:44:52.22 Right. So this beast is Rome. 00:44:52.25\00:44:54.66 We know it's Rome, 00:44:54.69\00:44:56.02 because it goes back to the Book of Daniel, 00:44:56.09\00:44:58.29 a beast in Bible prophecy in the Book of Daniel 00:44:58.33\00:45:00.96 represents an earthly kingdom or power, Daniel 7:17, 23. 00:45:01.00\00:45:05.60 So we know this is Rome, 00:45:05.63\00:45:07.14 because it talks about the lion, 00:45:07.17\00:45:10.11 and the bear and the leopard. 00:45:10.17\00:45:11.64 And all of those beasts were identified 00:45:11.67\00:45:13.34 in the Book of Daniel, 00:45:13.38\00:45:14.71 as kingdoms representing Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, 00:45:14.74\00:45:18.05 and then we have this dragon beast, 00:45:18.08\00:45:19.51 this terrible beast, 00:45:19.58\00:45:20.92 and that represented the power of Rome 00:45:20.95\00:45:23.15 in its first stage. 00:45:23.18\00:45:24.65 Now, in Revelation 13, 00:45:24.69\00:45:26.65 you have a transition from that Roman power 00:45:26.72\00:45:29.79 in its pagan stage to a Roman power 00:45:29.82\00:45:32.76 in a papal stage, 00:45:32.79\00:45:34.30 because we know from history, that when pagan Rome fell, 00:45:34.30\00:45:38.07 there were 10 kingdoms that rose up with crowns, 00:45:38.10\00:45:40.60 so they were monarchies. 00:45:40.64\00:45:42.04 And in that nation in that place of Europe, 00:45:42.07\00:45:44.21 that populated place of Europe also rose a little power, 00:45:44.24\00:45:47.58 a little horn that plucked up three 00:45:47.61\00:45:50.08 and became the papacy that we see to this day. 00:45:50.11\00:45:53.92 In 1798, the papacy received the deadly wound, 00:45:53.95\00:45:56.72 that's what's described in Revelation 13:3. 00:45:56.75\00:46:00.42 Then we move to the second beast, 00:46:00.46\00:46:02.09 it's coming up out of the earth, 00:46:02.12\00:46:03.83 not out of the sea. 00:46:03.86\00:46:05.19 So the first beast comes up out of the sea, 00:46:05.23\00:46:06.96 which represents peoples, nations, 00:46:07.00\00:46:08.33 multitudes and tongues, 00:46:08.36\00:46:09.80 populated area of the earth. 00:46:09.83\00:46:11.73 The second beast comes up out of the earth, 00:46:11.77\00:46:13.90 representing a less populated 00:46:13.94\00:46:15.87 or more sparsely populated area of the world. 00:46:15.90\00:46:18.87 And that second beast, it says in Revelation 13:11, 00:46:18.91\00:46:22.91 has two horns like a lamb, and he speaks like a dragon. 00:46:22.98\00:46:26.85 So the second earthly power is lamblike, 00:46:26.88\00:46:30.45 that means it's a Christian nation, 00:46:30.49\00:46:32.09 has lamblike principles. 00:46:32.12\00:46:33.49 Two, notice there's no crowns 00:46:33.52\00:46:35.06 on the horns of this lamblike horns. 00:46:35.09\00:46:36.96 But these two principles represent civil liberty 00:46:36.99\00:46:39.93 and religious liberty that identifies a power 00:46:39.96\00:46:44.17 that was raised up as a Christian nation 00:46:44.20\00:46:46.84 that had these two principles foremost in its establishment, 00:46:46.87\00:46:50.61 and also rose up in an unpopulated area 00:46:50.64\00:46:53.68 of the earth. 00:46:53.71\00:46:55.04 And that power is going to transition 00:46:55.08\00:46:56.85 to speak like a dragon, 00:46:56.88\00:46:58.51 a power that's going to enforce on the world 00:46:58.55\00:47:01.08 the mark of the beast. 00:47:01.12\00:47:02.45 We believe this power represents 00:47:02.48\00:47:03.89 the United States of America. 00:47:03.92\00:47:05.25 Why? Well, it fits the description. 00:47:05.29\00:47:07.02 It comes up at the right time when the papacy is going down. 00:47:07.09\00:47:09.36 It has the Christian principles of civil and religious freedom. 00:47:09.39\00:47:12.69 It's lamblike in that sense. 00:47:12.73\00:47:14.40 It came up in a less populated area of the world. 00:47:14.46\00:47:17.10 And it's the only power today 00:47:17.17\00:47:18.50 that actually could fulfill the prophecy 00:47:18.53\00:47:20.37 of forcing the whole world, 00:47:20.44\00:47:21.77 in other words, having the military might 00:47:21.80\00:47:23.61 and the economic might to enforce upon the whole world 00:47:23.64\00:47:26.17 the mark of the beast. 00:47:26.21\00:47:27.54 Is that happening today? Well, we're seeing mandates. 00:47:27.58\00:47:29.44 We're seeing the loss of freedom taking place today. 00:47:29.48\00:47:32.15 We're seeing a transition right now, 00:47:32.18\00:47:34.32 to the fulfillment of Revelation 13:11. 00:47:34.35\00:47:36.48 Of course, we're in the first stage 00:47:36.52\00:47:38.15 of that transition. 00:47:38.19\00:47:39.55 There's going to be a lot more coming 00:47:39.59\00:47:41.09 as we keep our eyes on Bible prophecy. 00:47:41.12\00:47:42.79 Amen. 00:47:42.82\00:47:44.16 Oh, that has to be a record 00:47:44.19\00:47:45.53 explaining the beast of Revelation 13 00:47:45.56\00:47:46.90 in three minutes. 00:47:46.93\00:47:48.23 Praise the Lord. The beast, the fourth one. 00:47:48.26\00:47:49.63 Yes, that's right. 00:47:49.66\00:47:51.00 Thank you, Pastor James. 00:47:51.03\00:47:52.37 Praise God. 00:47:52.40\00:47:53.74 Jason, this comes from David from Cadillac, Michigan. 00:47:53.77\00:47:56.00 "Does it say in the scriptures 00:47:56.04\00:47:57.44 that we have to kneel every time 00:47:57.47\00:47:59.14 we pray in church?" 00:47:59.17\00:48:02.24 That's a question a lot of people have, David. 00:48:02.28\00:48:04.21 No, it doesn't say that we have to kneel every time 00:48:04.25\00:48:07.35 we pray in church. 00:48:07.38\00:48:09.12 There are a lot of examples in the Bible of people 00:48:09.15\00:48:11.89 kneeling during prayer, or kneeling before the Lord. 00:48:11.92\00:48:15.12 But it's not a mandate that we kneel to pray. 00:48:15.16\00:48:18.06 I think whenever possible, we should kneel. 00:48:18.09\00:48:22.76 But let's look at some of the instructions 00:48:22.80\00:48:26.10 Jesus provided us with in Matthew 6:5-8, 00:48:26.13\00:48:31.27 "And when you pray, 00:48:31.31\00:48:32.64 you shall not be like the hypocrites. 00:48:32.67\00:48:34.81 For they love to pray standing in the synagogues 00:48:34.84\00:48:37.81 and on the corners of the streets, 00:48:37.85\00:48:39.78 that they may be seen by men." 00:48:39.81\00:48:41.88 I just want to stop right there for a second and say that 00:48:41.92\00:48:44.52 it's not a problem that they were standing. 00:48:44.55\00:48:46.96 It's the motive behind it. 00:48:47.02\00:48:48.82 They wanted to be seen by men. 00:48:48.86\00:48:51.66 "Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 00:48:51.69\00:48:54.96 But you, when you pray, go into your room, 00:48:55.00\00:48:57.70 and when you have shut your door, 00:48:57.73\00:48:59.17 pray to your Father who is in the secret place, 00:48:59.20\00:49:02.54 and your Father who sees in secret 00:49:02.57\00:49:04.74 will reward you openly. 00:49:04.77\00:49:06.54 And when you pray, 00:49:06.57\00:49:07.91 do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. 00:49:07.94\00:49:11.78 For they think that they will be heard 00:49:11.81\00:49:14.15 for their many words. 00:49:14.18\00:49:15.52 Therefore do not be like them. 00:49:15.55\00:49:17.35 For your Father knows the things 00:49:17.39\00:49:18.89 you have need of before you ask Him." 00:49:18.92\00:49:21.86 Notice that nowhere in the model prayer 00:49:21.89\00:49:25.33 does it specify that we must get on our knees 00:49:25.36\00:49:29.10 to pray to God. 00:49:29.13\00:49:30.50 We can talk to God in our car. 00:49:30.53\00:49:31.90 We can talk to God 00:49:31.93\00:49:33.27 while we're walking through nature and getting exercise. 00:49:33.30\00:49:37.17 We can talk to God while on our or in bed. 00:49:37.24\00:49:41.88 Psalm 63:6 says, "When I remember you on my bed, 00:49:41.91\00:49:47.52 I meditate on you in the night watches." 00:49:47.55\00:49:51.42 We can talk to God 00:49:51.45\00:49:52.82 while we're in the shower, et cetera, et cetera. 00:49:52.85\00:49:56.09 But more important than our physical position 00:49:56.12\00:50:00.13 is the condition of our heart. 00:50:00.16\00:50:02.90 Amen. That's great, amen. 00:50:02.96\00:50:04.30 Amen. Yeah. 00:50:04.33\00:50:05.67 Praise the Lord. Thank you, Jason. 00:50:05.70\00:50:07.04 Excellent. 00:50:07.07\00:50:08.40 Shelley, "The Bible says, No man can die for your sins. 00:50:08.44\00:50:12.64 What qualifies Jesus to do this then?" 00:50:12.67\00:50:15.31 Well, I couldn't find anywhere in the Bible that says, 00:50:15.34\00:50:18.11 no man can die for your sins. 00:50:18.15\00:50:19.58 What it does say in Deuteronomy 24:16, 00:50:19.61\00:50:22.08 is the father shall not be put to death for the sins 00:50:22.12\00:50:24.59 of the children or the children 00:50:24.62\00:50:26.35 put to death for the sins of their father. 00:50:26.39\00:50:28.32 But we know Revelation 13:8, 00:50:28.36\00:50:30.63 Jesus was the Lamb that was slain 00:50:30.66\00:50:33.23 from the foundation of the world. 00:50:33.29\00:50:35.30 We see throughout the Old Covenant, 00:50:35.33\00:50:38.07 the Old Testament, the substitutionary, 00:50:38.10\00:50:41.20 system for transgressions, 00:50:41.24\00:50:43.30 it all pointed to Jesus. 00:50:43.37\00:50:44.94 We also see in the Old Covenant, 00:50:44.97\00:50:47.48 the kinsman redeemer, 00:50:47.51\00:50:50.01 so this concept of a kinsman redeemer 00:50:50.05\00:50:52.71 in Philippians 2:6-8, 00:50:52.75\00:50:54.65 God came down and became one of us 00:50:54.68\00:50:56.99 to become our kinsman redeemer. 00:50:57.05\00:50:59.29 In Galatians 4:4-5, it says, 00:50:59.32\00:51:02.32 "When the fullness of time had come, 00:51:02.36\00:51:04.46 God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, 00:51:04.49\00:51:07.30 born unto the law to redeem those 00:51:07.30\00:51:10.03 who were under the law 00:51:10.07\00:51:11.40 that we might receive the adoption of sons. 00:51:11.43\00:51:13.84 He had to be born into the law. 00:51:13.90\00:51:15.90 He had to be a person 00:51:15.94\00:51:17.61 who would keep it perfectly to redeem those 00:51:17.64\00:51:20.24 who were born into the law. 00:51:20.28\00:51:21.64 And no human could have done this 00:51:21.68\00:51:24.41 because it says all humans have sinned. 00:51:24.45\00:51:26.48 So He became part human, fully human, fully divine, 00:51:26.51\00:51:31.52 and He was qualified 00:51:31.55\00:51:34.86 as that perfect sacrifice 00:51:34.89\00:51:37.56 because He was sinless. 00:51:37.59\00:51:40.60 God demonstrated His love 00:51:40.66\00:51:42.26 by sending His Son to die for us. 00:51:42.30\00:51:43.97 Amen. Wow. 00:51:44.00\00:51:45.33 Shelley, praise the Lord. Great answer. 00:51:45.37\00:51:47.07 Thank you so very much. 00:51:47.10\00:51:48.50 We've got just a few seconds left. 00:51:48.54\00:51:50.14 I'm going to left, 00:51:50.17\00:51:51.51 I'm going to put one more question on the table. 00:51:51.54\00:51:53.01 Okay, before we go to the break. 00:51:53.04\00:51:54.38 All right. 00:51:54.41\00:51:55.74 Let's do this from Alice 00:51:55.78\00:51:57.11 from North Chesterfield, Virginia. 00:51:57.15\00:51:58.95 "Will we know one another in God's kingdom? 00:51:58.98\00:52:02.38 Please cite it in the Bible." 00:52:02.42\00:52:04.62 Well, I won't give you the exact reference. 00:52:04.65\00:52:06.72 But we do, we can say yes to that, 00:52:06.76\00:52:09.29 because Elijah is in heaven, Moses is in heaven. 00:52:09.32\00:52:11.69 And when they came down to this earth, 00:52:11.73\00:52:13.09 and they were with Christ glorified there 00:52:13.16\00:52:14.73 on the Mount of Transfiguration, 00:52:14.76\00:52:16.60 the disciples recognize them, oh there's Elijah, 00:52:16.63\00:52:18.83 and there's Moses, Father, let's set up a monument. 00:52:18.87\00:52:20.87 No, don't need to set up monuments for them. 00:52:20.90\00:52:22.64 But yes, even though we're going to be glorified, 00:52:22.67\00:52:24.71 there's going to be character recognition. 00:52:24.74\00:52:27.14 We're gonna recognize each other 00:52:27.21\00:52:29.41 in the new heaven and new earth. 00:52:29.44\00:52:30.88 Any comments on that. That's perfect. 00:52:30.91\00:52:32.75 I agree with you 100%. 00:52:32.78\00:52:34.12 Praise the Lord for that. 00:52:34.15\00:52:35.48 What a wonderful day that would be. 00:52:35.52\00:52:36.85 We're going to take a quick break. 00:52:36.92\00:52:38.25 We'll be right back with some closing comments. 00:52:38.29\00:52:41.92 If you're enjoying our 3ABN Bible Q and A, 00:52:41.96\00:52:45.06 then tell your friends, 00:52:45.09\00:52:46.66 each Monday we'll bring you a fresh program, 00:52:46.73\00:52:49.36 answering the Bible questions you send us, 00:52:49.40\00:52:51.60 using God's Holy Word to shed light on those texts 00:52:51.63\00:52:54.94 that seem difficult to understand. 00:52:54.97\00:52:57.21 To have your questions answered on a future program, 00:52:57.24\00:53:00.04 just email them to us at BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:53:00.08\00:53:05.28 That's BibleQA@3abn.TV 00:53:05.31\00:53:09.05 You may also text your questions 00:53:09.08\00:53:10.82 to (618) 228-3975. 00:53:10.85\00:53:14.76 That's (618) 228-3975. 00:53:14.79\00:53:18.46 Be sure to include your name and where you live, 00:53:18.49\00:53:20.83 and then watch 3ABN Bible Q and A 00:53:20.86\00:53:23.40 for answers from God's Word. 00:53:23.47\00:53:38.48
