00:01:44.60\00:01:46.67 who are really part of the 3ABN family here. 00:01:46.74\00:01:49.07 And God has given each one incredible knowledge 00:01:49.10\00:01:51.61 and each one enjoy studying the Word of God. 00:01:51.64\00:01:54.64 But I just wanna say thank you for being a part of our family, 00:01:54.68\00:01:57.71 you know, without you 3ABN would not be here. 00:01:57.75\00:02:00.48 So we captain of the ship. 00:02:07.09\00:02:08.82 And all of us that includes you 00:02:08.86\00:02:10.89 have the privilege and opportunity of helping 00:02:10.96\00:02:13.53 to spread this gospel around the world. 00:02:13.56\00:02:15.33 And we're hearing from people too, 00:02:15.36\00:02:16.70 that are viewing this program 00:02:16.77\00:02:18.10 that maybe are not Seventh-day Adventist Christians. 00:02:18.13\00:02:20.14 And they're just finding out about Bible truths 00:02:20.17\00:02:21.87 and they're just studying the Word of God. 00:02:21.90\00:02:24.14 And again, we answer these questions 00:02:24.21\00:02:25.54 in about two minutes or so. 00:02:25.57\00:02:27.11 So a lot of people are then taking that answer 00:02:27.18\00:02:28.74 and then they're just delving in even more 00:02:28.78\00:02:30.35 and studying more in depth. 00:02:30.38\00:02:31.75 And it's so exciting to hear, 00:02:31.78\00:02:33.18 but if you do have questions or comments, 00:02:33.21\00:02:34.72 you some people that are submitting questions 00:02:46.36\00:02:48.16 via social media, 00:02:48.20\00:02:49.80 which is great 'cause you can follow 3ABN on Instagram, 00:02:49.83\00:02:52.70 on Facebook Lomacang. 00:03:09.68\00:03:11.69 So good to have you here, Pastor. 00:03:11.72\00:03:13.29 This is a fun program, rapid fire, 00:03:13.32\00:03:15.59 because we love to stretch our answers, 00:03:15.62\00:03:17.63 but it's kind of making us distill it 00:03:17.66\00:03:19.39 down to the most relevant parts of it. 00:03:19.43\00:03:21.30 Well, I mean, God's given all of you gifts, 00:03:21.33\00:03:22.66 but I think, Pastor, you know, 00:03:22.70\00:03:24.03 you can answer these questions so fast. 00:03:24.07\00:03:25.40 God's given you incredible gift or you can expound upon it 00:03:25.43\00:03:27.97 and preach an hour sermon too, 00:03:28.00\00:03:29.34 you know, so it's just a great balance. 00:03:29.37\00:03:31.11 So thank you so much. 00:03:31.14\00:03:32.77 Pastor Johnny, good to have you here with us, sir. 00:03:32.81\00:03:34.98 It's a blessing to be here. 00:03:35.01\00:03:36.34 Blessing to be here. 00:03:36.38\00:03:37.71 Amen. 00:03:37.75\00:03:39.08 And, Jill, good to have you here. 00:03:39.11\00:03:40.48 It's weird to call you Jill. 00:03:40.52\00:03:41.85 I always call her sweetie or honey, 00:03:41.88\00:03:43.22 'cause she's my wife of almost 19 years, 00:03:43.25\00:03:45.02 but so good to have you on the set today as well. 00:03:45.05\00:03:46.92 Thank you so much sweetheart. 00:03:46.96\00:03:48.29 I'll call you sweetheart. 00:03:48.32\00:03:49.66 Okay, there you go. 00:03:49.69\00:03:51.03 I just love to open up the Word of God and study, 00:03:51.09\00:03:52.63 so what a privilege. 00:03:52.66\00:03:54.00 Yeah, absolutely. 00:03:54.03\00:03:55.36 You know, before we go into the first question, 00:03:55.40\00:03:57.20 Pastor John, I'm going to have you open with prayer, 00:03:57.23\00:03:59.27 but just before we go to opening prayer, 00:03:59.30\00:04:01.00 this past week, great sermon, 00:04:01.04\00:04:03.57 or I guess when this aired actually 00:04:03.61\00:04:04.94 maybe just a couple of weeks ago, 00:04:04.97\00:04:06.31 we can go to TVā | 00:04:06.34\00:04:07.68 sdac.org. 00:04:07.74\00:04:09.78 To get this sermon, 00:04:09.81\00:04:11.15 but it's great because it has to do 00:04:11.21\00:04:12.55 with the study of the Word of God. 00:04:12.58\00:04:13.92 So give us just a real quick synopsis 00:04:13.95\00:04:15.28 of this message? 00:04:15.32\00:04:16.65 It's about our thoughts and our imaginations. 00:04:16.69\00:04:19.79 A lot of times we don't know why we do what we do, 00:04:19.82\00:04:22.82 but it begins in our thoughts 00:04:22.86\00:04:24.19 and then also in our imaginations. 00:04:24.23\00:04:26.33 And that was the sin 00:04:26.36\00:04:27.66 that condemned the antediluvian world. 00:04:27.76\00:04:29.73 So you may wanna go to that website tvsdac.org 00:04:29.76\00:04:34.00 and look for the message entitled, 00:04:34.07\00:04:35.40 "Just My Imaginations." 00:04:35.44\00:04:36.94 And it comes from an old song 00:04:36.97\00:04:39.21 that when I used to be a disc jockey, 00:04:39.24\00:04:40.81 it kind of lays the foundation. 00:04:40.84\00:04:42.18 That's all I'm going to tell you about it. 00:04:42.21\00:04:43.55 Amen. 00:04:43.58\00:04:44.91 But you talked about also 00:04:44.95\00:04:46.28 the study of the Word of God, right? 00:04:46.31\00:04:47.65 So that's what we're doing today. 00:04:47.68\00:04:49.02 Oh, yeah. Open the Word of God. 00:04:49.05\00:04:50.39 The Word of God is a discerner of the thoughts 00:04:50.42\00:04:52.22 and intentions of our hearts. 00:04:52.25\00:04:53.59 Amen. 00:04:53.62\00:04:54.96 And that's what the antediluvian failed in. 00:04:54.99\00:04:56.66 Yeah, absolutely. So yes. 00:04:56.69\00:04:58.23 Thank you very much, Pastor, 00:04:58.26\00:04:59.59 again for preaching that message. 00:04:59.63\00:05:01.06 But let's open in prayer, please. 00:05:01.13\00:05:02.46 Loving Father in heaven, we thank You. 00:05:02.50\00:05:03.83 It is Your Word, we are Your servants. 00:05:03.87\00:05:05.63 Speak to us, Lord, send Your Holy Spirit. 00:05:05.67\00:05:08.20 We have intellect, 00:05:08.24\00:05:09.57 but what is it without the power 00:05:09.60\00:05:11.47 and strength and guidance 00:05:11.51\00:05:12.87 of the one who inspired this Word 00:05:12.91\00:05:15.54 and spoke to the holy men. 00:05:15.58\00:05:16.91 Speak to us today, Lord, 00:05:16.95\00:05:18.51 that Your people may hear what the Spirit says 00:05:18.55\00:05:21.45 to the churches, in Jesus' name we pray. 00:05:21.48\00:05:24.02 Amen. Amen. 00:05:24.05\00:05:25.39 Amen. 00:05:25.42\00:05:26.76 I want to encourage you at home to get your Bible 00:05:26.79\00:05:29.09 and get a pen and paper 00:05:29.12\00:05:30.66 or your electronic device, take notes, 00:05:30.69\00:05:32.76 follow along and then do your study as well 00:05:32.79\00:05:35.03 because God has so much treasure in His Word. 00:05:35.06\00:05:38.13 And that's something that I always 00:05:38.17\00:05:39.50 like to do is before we start, 00:05:39.53\00:05:40.87 and that is read 2 Timothy 2:15, quote it, 00:05:40.94\00:05:43.47 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, 00:05:43.51\00:05:46.47 a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, 00:05:46.51\00:05:49.08 rightly dividing the word of truth." 00:05:49.11\00:05:51.85 Amen to that. 00:05:51.88\00:05:53.21 Pastor John, a lot of great questions have come in 00:05:53.25\00:05:55.05 and let's start with this one. 00:05:55.08\00:05:58.39 "The New Testament states, 00:05:58.42\00:06:00.26 a woman is free from the law of her husband 00:06:00.29\00:06:03.16 after he dies. 00:06:03.19\00:06:05.56 The Old Testament states that God hates divorce. 00:06:05.59\00:06:08.80 Moses approved it 00:06:08.83\00:06:10.17 because of the hardness of the heart. 00:06:10.20\00:06:11.93 What's Christ's answered to the question 00:06:15.20\00:06:16.54 on this subject." 00:06:16.57\00:06:17.91 And this comes from Vivian. 00:06:17.94\00:06:19.27 Yes. 00:06:19.31\00:06:20.68 This is a beautiful topic because it's really, 00:06:20.71\00:06:23.04 a lot of what we do hinges on the answer here, 00:06:23.08\00:06:26.21 but let's first talk about the woman who is free 00:06:26.25\00:06:28.48 from the law of her husband after he dies. 00:06:28.52\00:06:30.69 Now, the law of her husband is often misconstrued 00:06:30.72\00:06:33.96 to believe by many that it's the law of God, 00:06:33.99\00:06:37.13 but that's not the case. 00:06:37.16\00:06:38.49 It's a law of her husband. 00:06:38.53\00:06:39.86 You'll find the Bible talks about the natural husband 00:06:39.89\00:06:42.93 and the spiritual husband. 00:06:42.96\00:06:44.53 Christ is the husband man. 00:06:44.57\00:06:46.43 Well, when you're married to Him, 00:06:46.47\00:06:47.80 He has a law also. 00:06:47.84\00:06:49.17 But when Eve fell into sin, we find in Genesis 3:16, 00:06:49.20\00:06:52.84 these words from God, 00:06:52.87\00:06:55.34 He said to her, to the woman, he said, 00:06:55.38\00:06:57.35 "I will greatly multiply your sorrow 00:06:57.41\00:07:00.12 and your conception, 00:07:00.15\00:07:01.55 in pain you shall bring forth children." 00:07:01.58\00:07:03.79 And this is the law of the husband. 00:07:03.82\00:07:05.49 Your desire shall be for your husband 00:07:05.52\00:07:08.16 and he shall rule over you. 00:07:08.19\00:07:11.03 That rulership is now taken by Paul 00:07:11.06\00:07:14.20 to now incorporate that 00:07:14.20\00:07:15.76 in why we do what we do the law of sin. 00:07:15.80\00:07:19.53 And Paul talks about it as the law of sin and death. 00:07:19.57\00:07:21.97 Let's go to Romans Chapter 6, 00:07:22.00\00:07:23.71 to see the other component of that. 00:07:23.74\00:07:25.27 Because Roman 6 now builds on this whole ideology saying, 00:07:25.31\00:07:29.38 you're gonna do what you do as long as you're married 00:07:29.41\00:07:31.31 to that old man of sin. 00:07:31.35\00:07:32.88 Romans 6:6 and 7, 00:07:32.91\00:07:34.68 "Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, 00:07:34.72\00:07:37.95 that the body of sin might be done away with, 00:07:37.99\00:07:40.12 that we should no longer be slaves to sin. 00:07:40.16\00:07:42.46 For He who has died has been freed from sin." 00:07:42.49\00:07:46.59 So when we die, 00:07:46.63\00:07:47.96 when that old man is no longer reigning over us, 00:07:48.03\00:07:50.73 we are now free to marry a new man. 00:07:50.80\00:07:53.27 And that's what Paul meant when he said in Roman 7:2 00:07:53.30\00:07:57.34 "For the woman who has a husband 00:07:57.37\00:07:58.71 is bound by the law to her husband, 00:07:58.74\00:08:00.41 as long as he lives. 00:08:00.44\00:08:01.84 But if the husband dies, 00:08:01.88\00:08:03.21 she is released from the law of her husband." 00:08:03.24\00:08:05.51 Meaning the controlling power of sin. 00:08:05.55\00:08:07.78 So then if while her husband lives, 00:08:07.82\00:08:11.09 she marries another man, 00:08:11.15\00:08:12.49 she will be called an adulterous. 00:08:12.52\00:08:13.86 Meaning if she tries to live a righteous life 00:08:13.89\00:08:16.69 while being married to that old nature 00:08:16.73\00:08:18.36 is not gonna work. 00:08:18.39\00:08:19.73 Christ is not, 00:08:19.76\00:08:21.06 He's not in that relationship, but what happens, 00:08:21.13\00:08:22.96 but if he dies, but if her husband dies, 00:08:23.00\00:08:26.13 she is free from the law 00:08:26.17\00:08:27.90 so that she is not adulterous 00:08:27.97\00:08:29.34 although she has married another man. 00:08:29.37\00:08:31.04 Meaning now that old man of sin is dead, 00:08:31.07\00:08:34.11 now she's free to marry the new husband Christ 00:08:34.14\00:08:37.11 and the offspring or her fruit will be righteousness 00:08:37.15\00:08:40.45 because of that new man who is Christ. 00:08:40.48\00:08:42.72 Wow. Amen. 00:08:42.75\00:08:44.52 Incredible. Thank you, Pastor. 00:08:44.55\00:08:45.89 Great answer in two minutes. 00:08:45.92\00:08:48.32 That's a great full squeeze right there. 00:08:48.36\00:08:50.19 Amen. So thank you. 00:08:50.23\00:08:51.59 Praise the Lord, Pastor Johnny, 00:08:51.63\00:08:53.23 great question here from Lonnie from Washington. 00:08:53.26\00:08:55.86 "Where did Jehu come from? 00:08:55.90\00:08:58.10 And can you tell me more about him?" 00:08:58.13\00:09:01.80 Well, one of those funny answers came to my mind. 00:09:01.84\00:09:04.17 He said, well, he came from his mother 00:09:04.24\00:09:05.64 and from the Lord, the first time I heard that. 00:09:05.67\00:09:08.24 But let's go to... Which is a true answer. 00:09:08.28\00:09:10.05 Which is the true answer. 00:09:10.08\00:09:11.58 But you know, there's not much discussion about Jehu 00:09:11.61\00:09:15.58 like you talk about Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses, 00:09:15.62\00:09:20.12 but yes, in 1 Kings 16:1, it says, 00:09:20.16\00:09:22.79 "Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu, 00:09:22.82\00:09:25.29 the son of Hanani against Basha saying..." 00:09:25.33\00:09:29.16 And so, he was a prophet and a prophet of the Lord. 00:09:29.20\00:09:33.50 Now it's interesting that his father Hanani 00:09:33.54\00:09:35.97 was also a prophet. 00:09:36.00\00:09:38.11 What we found in looking at this is that Jehu 00:09:38.14\00:09:43.41 when this particular passage is recorded, 00:09:43.45\00:09:47.22 apparently lived a long time. 00:09:47.25\00:09:48.68 And this was when he was very young, 00:09:48.72\00:09:50.35 that he came to rebuke the king. 00:09:50.39\00:09:53.52 A message from the Lord. 00:09:53.56\00:09:55.96 And you know, when you're talking 00:09:55.99\00:09:57.33 about prophets coming to rebuke a king, 00:09:57.36\00:09:58.79 their lives were in danger. 00:09:58.83\00:10:00.16 Absolutely. 00:10:00.20\00:10:01.50 Their lives were in danger, but he did not flinch. 00:10:01.53\00:10:03.93 He went courageously and rebuked the king, 00:10:03.97\00:10:07.60 just like his father has done as well. 00:10:07.64\00:10:09.64 And apparently he lived a long time 00:10:09.67\00:10:11.27 because when you go to all the way to... 00:10:11.31\00:10:15.88 It's 1 Kings, 00:10:15.91\00:10:19.55 no 2 Chronicles Chapter 16. 00:10:19.58\00:10:24.45 We see here a reference to Jehu again, 00:10:24.49\00:10:27.42 and he apparently wrote 00:10:27.46\00:10:29.49 the history or annals of Jehoshaphat. 00:10:29.52\00:10:34.63 I'm sorry 2 Chronicles Chapter 19, 00:10:34.66\00:10:36.60 actually 2 Chronicles Chapter 19. 00:10:36.63\00:10:39.07 And you go to verse 2 and almost have it. 00:10:39.10\00:10:44.37 And it says here "And Jehu, the son of Hanani, 00:10:44.44\00:10:47.61 the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, 00:10:47.64\00:10:50.88 'Should you help the wicked 00:10:50.91\00:10:52.95 and love those who hate the Lord? 00:10:52.98\00:10:55.65 Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you. 00:10:55.68\00:10:59.29 Nevertheless, good things are found in you 00:10:59.32\00:11:02.26 in that you have removed the wooden image from the land 00:11:02.29\00:11:05.89 and have prepared your heart to seek God.'" 00:11:05.93\00:11:08.13 So this is what we can share 00:11:08.16\00:11:10.70 in the amount of time that we have. 00:11:10.73\00:11:12.53 And there's not really not much about him. 00:11:12.57\00:11:14.20 Yeah. Okay. 00:11:14.27\00:11:15.87 This comes from Bruce. 00:11:15.90\00:11:17.54 Thank you, Bruce for this question. 00:11:17.57\00:11:19.11 "And, Jill, please explain to me Hebrews 10:26?" 00:11:19.14\00:11:24.58 That's a good question, Bruce. 00:11:24.61\00:11:25.95 Let's read the verse in question. 00:11:25.98\00:11:27.78 Hebrews 10:26 says, 00:11:27.85\00:11:29.25 "If we sin willfully, 00:11:29.28\00:11:31.12 after we have received the knowledge of the truth, 00:11:31.15\00:11:33.66 there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." 00:11:33.69\00:11:37.66 Now there might be several interpretations 00:11:37.69\00:11:39.89 to this verse, 00:11:39.93\00:11:41.40 but I'm gonna give you 00:11:41.43\00:11:42.76 the one that I feel really resonates with me. 00:11:42.80\00:11:46.30 Can God forgive willful sin? 00:11:46.33\00:11:48.77 Absolutely. 00:11:48.80\00:11:50.14 Because that's why Christ came. 00:11:50.17\00:11:51.51 Adam willfully ate of the apple. 00:11:51.54\00:11:53.88 That's right. 00:11:53.91\00:11:55.24 David willfully took Bathsheba 00:11:55.28\00:11:57.45 and he willfully had her husband murdered. 00:11:57.48\00:12:01.28 You and I have willfully at times stepped into sin. 00:12:01.32\00:12:05.92 God forgives us. 00:12:05.95\00:12:07.29 Romans 6:23, 00:12:07.32\00:12:08.66 "The wages of sin is death, 00:12:08.69\00:12:10.03 but the gift of God is eternal life 00:12:10.06\00:12:11.56 through Christ Jesus, our Lord." 00:12:11.59\00:12:13.03 We also know 1 John 1:9 00:12:13.06\00:12:14.73 "If we confess our sins, 00:12:14.73\00:12:16.23 He's faithful and just to forgive us." 00:12:16.26\00:12:18.10 So what is the context of Hebrews Chapter 10? 00:12:18.17\00:12:22.00 It's all about the insufficiency 00:12:22.04\00:12:23.87 of the animal sacrifices 00:12:23.91\00:12:25.51 in the Old Covenant versus Jesus' blood. 00:12:25.54\00:12:29.41 And Jesus' sacrifice in the New Covenant. 00:12:29.44\00:12:33.08 We see the shadows and types of the Old Covenant. 00:12:33.11\00:12:35.68 We see the Levitical priesthood and in Hebrews 10, 00:12:35.72\00:12:38.12 we see that Jesus is the high priest. 00:12:38.19\00:12:41.26 We see the earthly sanctuary and in Hebrews 10, 00:12:41.29\00:12:44.33 we see that there's a heavenly sanctuary. 00:12:44.36\00:12:46.90 We see the animal sacrifices and it's impossible 00:12:46.93\00:12:50.03 for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sin. 00:12:50.07\00:12:52.97 But in Hebrews 10, 00:12:53.00\00:12:54.34 we see that Jesus is the Lamb of God 00:12:54.40\00:12:57.47 and He offered one sacrifice for sin forever. 00:12:57.51\00:13:01.98 And He sat down at the right hand of God. 00:13:02.01\00:13:04.85 So what is the willful sin here? 00:13:04.88\00:13:06.92 I believe it's saying 00:13:06.95\00:13:08.58 if after understanding the New Covenant, 00:13:08.62\00:13:10.89 we understand that Jesus is the only way to salvation. 00:13:10.92\00:13:13.79 We understand that Jesus' blood 00:13:13.82\00:13:16.02 cleanses you and I from all sin. 00:13:16.06\00:13:18.59 If we go back to the Old Covenant, 00:13:18.63\00:13:20.23 to the sacrificial system 00:13:20.26\00:13:21.66 to any other way for salvation, 00:13:21.70\00:13:24.73 other than the Lord, Jesus Christ, 00:13:24.77\00:13:26.84 then therefore there remains no sacrifice for sin. 00:13:26.87\00:13:30.27 Wow. 00:13:30.31\00:13:31.67 Thank you very much. Yeah. 00:13:31.71\00:13:33.04 Good answer. Yeah. 00:13:33.07\00:13:34.41 That was very good. Yes. 00:13:34.44\00:13:35.78 Excellent. Praise the Lord. 00:13:35.81\00:13:37.15 Pastor John, this one comes from Washington. 00:13:37.18\00:13:39.48 "Why does Jesus tell His disciples in Luke 22:36, 00:13:39.51\00:13:44.75 that he who had no sword 00:13:44.79\00:13:46.39 was to sell his garment and buy a sword?" 00:13:46.42\00:13:49.49 Okay. 00:13:49.52\00:13:50.89 Well, the point of the matter 00:13:50.93\00:13:52.26 is the Lord was talking about provision. 00:13:52.29\00:13:56.03 Provision that could not be supplied 00:13:56.06\00:13:58.73 by anyone else other than by the Lord. 00:13:58.77\00:14:01.24 Okay. 00:14:01.30\00:14:02.64 And you find the sword in fact was an instrument of war. 00:14:02.67\00:14:06.34 True. 00:14:06.37\00:14:07.74 But the Lord was not advocating that 00:14:07.78\00:14:09.11 because when Peter pulled out his sword, 00:14:09.14\00:14:11.65 which he had cut off the ear of the soldier, 00:14:11.71\00:14:14.48 he said, put up your sword. 00:14:14.52\00:14:16.32 Lord is not saying you need to go out 00:14:16.35\00:14:18.05 and start killing people. 00:14:18.09\00:14:19.55 But it had a symbolic application 00:14:19.59\00:14:22.02 because we find in Hebrews 4:12, 00:14:22.06\00:14:24.43 "For the word of God is living and powerful 00:14:24.49\00:14:28.13 and sharper than any two-edged sword 00:14:28.16\00:14:31.40 piercing to the division of soul and spirit 00:14:31.43\00:14:34.17 and of joints and marrows." 00:14:34.20\00:14:35.84 And as a discerner of the thoughts 00:14:35.87\00:14:37.54 and intents of the heart, not only that, 00:14:37.57\00:14:40.24 but the Lord continued to amplify the need. 00:14:40.28\00:14:42.78 Now the sword that He was referring to 00:14:42.81\00:14:44.91 was you need defense. 00:14:44.98\00:14:46.45 If you look at the entire whole armor of God 00:14:46.48\00:14:49.18 in Ephesians 6, all of the armor is defensive. 00:14:49.22\00:14:52.85 The sword is the only offensive part of it. 00:14:52.89\00:14:55.16 In other words, you can have a helmet, a shield. 00:14:55.19\00:14:56.83 You could be fully dressed 00:14:56.86\00:14:58.56 in the regalia of a military person, 00:14:58.59\00:15:00.76 but if you have no weapon, you're in trouble. 00:15:00.80\00:15:03.30 You might say what a good looking... 00:15:03.33\00:15:06.90 What's the word there? 00:15:06.94\00:15:08.27 What a good looking carcass so to speak, I'm using, right? 00:15:08.30\00:15:11.14 What a good looking person that he's just going to die. 00:15:11.17\00:15:14.08 He looks good, but he has nothing to defend himself. 00:15:14.11\00:15:16.54 What the Lord was in essence saying is 00:15:16.58\00:15:18.18 whatever you do put aside anything you have 00:15:18.21\00:15:21.55 and make sure that you do not go out 00:15:21.58\00:15:23.82 without a sword 00:15:23.85\00:15:25.22 because there will be no defense. 00:15:25.25\00:15:27.06 And that's why Ephesians 6:17, 00:15:27.09\00:15:30.33 "The sword of the spirit is the word of God." 00:15:30.36\00:15:33.19 Revelation 2:16, the Lord says, 00:15:33.23\00:15:36.26 "I will come quickly and will fight against them 00:15:36.30\00:15:38.53 with the sword of My mouth." 00:15:38.57\00:15:40.24 So the gospel went forth as a sword piercing, 00:15:40.27\00:15:44.41 cutting away sin, 00:15:44.44\00:15:45.84 cutting away unrighteousness 00:15:45.87\00:15:48.08 because the disciples equipped themselves 00:15:48.11\00:15:50.95 with the Word of God coming from their mouth. 00:15:50.98\00:15:53.52 Wow. Amen. 00:15:53.55\00:15:54.92 Amen. Thank you, Pastor. 00:15:54.95\00:15:56.35 Great answer. 00:15:56.38\00:15:58.09 Pastor Johnny, a question here from Sherry, Pennsylvania. 00:15:58.12\00:16:01.56 Thank you so much for submitting this. 00:16:01.62\00:16:03.32 "Is Isaiah 17:1, 00:16:03.36\00:16:06.66 a future prophecy or is it conditional?" 00:16:06.70\00:16:10.50 That is a good question. 00:16:10.53\00:16:12.20 I will read Isaiah 17:1, 00:16:12.23\00:16:15.47 "The burden against Damascus the Bible says, 00:16:15.50\00:16:17.94 'Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city 00:16:18.01\00:16:21.58 and it will be a ruinous heap.'" 00:16:21.61\00:16:23.35 The question is, 00:16:23.38\00:16:24.75 is that a future prophecy or a conditional? 00:16:24.78\00:16:26.41 Yes. 00:16:26.45\00:16:30.12 The reason I give is because Jeremiah 18:7-10 00:16:30.15\00:16:34.86 is where God explains 00:16:34.89\00:16:37.63 how He does what He does and why He does what he does. 00:16:37.66\00:16:41.26 It says there, the instant I speak concerning a nation 00:16:41.30\00:16:44.17 and concerning a kingdom to pluck it up, 00:16:44.20\00:16:46.23 to pull down or to destroy it. 00:16:46.27\00:16:47.94 If that nation against whom I have spoken 00:16:48.00\00:16:50.41 turns from its evil, 00:16:50.44\00:16:51.87 I will relent of the disaster 00:16:51.91\00:16:53.61 that I thought to bring upon it. 00:16:53.64\00:16:55.31 So this is conditional. 00:16:55.34\00:16:56.95 Now notice what happens 00:16:56.98\00:16:58.41 in the other instance in verse 9, 00:16:58.45\00:17:00.45 "And the instant I speak concerning a nation 00:17:00.48\00:17:02.92 and concerning a kingdom 00:17:02.95\00:17:04.29 to build and to plant it, like Israel, 00:17:04.32\00:17:06.52 if it does evil in my sight 00:17:06.55\00:17:08.46 so that it does not obey my voice, 00:17:08.49\00:17:10.76 then I will relent concerning the good 00:17:10.79\00:17:13.50 with which I said I would benefit it." 00:17:13.53\00:17:16.33 Yes. 00:17:16.36\00:17:17.73 Damascus was destroyed. 00:17:17.77\00:17:19.40 It became a ruinous heap, but apparently it was rebuilt. 00:17:19.43\00:17:23.97 And this is, but I do wanna give the answer 00:17:24.01\00:17:26.81 the reason why God had saw the need to destroy it. 00:17:26.84\00:17:31.45 It says in Isaiah 17:10, and I have to say this as well. 00:17:31.51\00:17:35.38 Damascus, Israel had joined Damascus 00:17:35.42\00:17:39.79 for a period of time to fight against other nations. 00:17:39.82\00:17:43.96 And this prophecy presents extensive punishment. 00:17:43.99\00:17:48.16 Now notice Isaiah 17:10, 00:17:48.23\00:17:50.33 because you have forgotten the God of your salvation. 00:17:50.37\00:17:55.17 So it is not that God takes upon Himself, 00:17:55.20\00:17:56.97 I think I'll destroy this nation today. 00:17:57.01\00:17:59.11 No, it's because appeals have been made repeatedly 00:17:59.14\00:18:02.48 to that nation and that nation refuses to repent. 00:18:02.51\00:18:05.45 Then the Lord has to take action 00:18:05.48\00:18:06.82 based on their actions. 00:18:06.85\00:18:08.78 Hmm. Wow. Very good. 00:18:08.82\00:18:10.25 Yeah. Thank you, Pastor Johnny. 00:18:10.29\00:18:11.89 And thank you for submitting that question. 00:18:11.95\00:18:14.32 Jill, this is, you know, 00:18:14.36\00:18:16.12 my heart goes out to this person here. 00:18:16.16\00:18:17.49 This is a question it's based off 00:18:17.53\00:18:19.03 of Exodus 19:5-6. 00:18:19.06\00:18:21.33 "1 Peter 2:9 talks about us being God's special treasure, 00:18:21.36\00:18:26.30 a royal priesthood, a holy people. 00:18:26.33\00:18:28.17 I know God's Word is true, for He cannot lie, 00:18:28.20\00:18:31.67 but I don't feel like royalty. 00:18:31.74\00:18:34.61 Everything I do I question myself. 00:18:34.64\00:18:37.81 I don't feel like I'm doing enough. 00:18:37.88\00:18:40.35 Not being totally obedient, calling myself a hypocrite. 00:18:40.38\00:18:44.19 Am I working for my salvation? 00:18:44.22\00:18:45.92 Even though I know salvation is not of works." 00:18:45.95\00:18:49.29 Wow. 00:18:49.32\00:18:50.73 Thank you so much, Sherry, for that question. 00:18:50.76\00:18:52.59 Let's read those verses in reference first. 00:18:52.63\00:18:54.83 In 1 Peter 2:9, it says, 00:18:54.83\00:18:56.40 "But you are a chosen generation, 00:18:56.43\00:18:59.37 a royal priesthood, a holy nation, 00:18:59.40\00:19:01.97 His own special people 00:19:02.00\00:19:04.04 that you may proclaim the praises of Him 00:19:04.07\00:19:05.84 who called you out of darkness 00:19:05.87\00:19:07.48 into this marvelous light." 00:19:07.51\00:19:09.78 And, of course, Exodus 19:5 says 00:19:09.81\00:19:12.65 "Now, therefore, if you will indeed 00:19:12.68\00:19:14.52 obey my voice and keep my covenant, 00:19:14.55\00:19:17.39 then you shall be a special treasure 00:19:17.42\00:19:19.72 to me above all people for all the earth is mine." 00:19:19.75\00:19:25.06 What I would tell you, Sherry, 00:19:25.09\00:19:27.30 and any one of you who struggle with 00:19:27.30\00:19:29.43 whether you really are a chosen generation, 00:19:29.46\00:19:32.07 are you royalty, can God forgive you. 00:19:32.10\00:19:34.94 Can you be God's own special people? 00:19:34.97\00:19:36.91 Are you being hypocritical? 00:19:36.94\00:19:38.87 I would tell you to walk 00:19:38.91\00:19:40.68 by the authority of the Word of God. 00:19:40.71\00:19:42.71 That's right. 00:19:42.74\00:19:44.08 Don't walk by how you feel. 00:19:44.11\00:19:45.95 Walk by faith in the authority of God's Word. 00:19:45.98\00:19:50.02 You see our Christian walk is not based on feeling, 00:19:50.05\00:19:52.79 it is based on faith. 00:19:52.82\00:19:54.76 And by faith, we accept what God's Word says about us. 00:19:54.79\00:19:58.86 1 John 1:9. 00:19:58.89\00:20:00.23 I'm gonna give you some scriptures. 00:20:00.26\00:20:01.56 We won't read them, but you can jot them down. 00:20:01.60\00:20:03.90 1 John 1:9, God's Word says, you are forgiven. 00:20:03.93\00:20:07.90 1 John 3:1, 00:20:07.94\00:20:09.74 God's Word says, you can be a child of the king. 00:20:09.77\00:20:14.48 Romans 8:15. 00:20:14.54\00:20:16.78 God's Word says, you are adopted. 00:20:16.81\00:20:19.98 Romans 8:1, God's Word says, 00:20:20.02\00:20:22.88 you might feel as if you're under condemnation, 00:20:22.92\00:20:25.35 but you don't have to walk under that condemnation. 00:20:25.39\00:20:29.66 Romans 8:13, 00:20:29.69\00:20:31.59 you might feel that you have no victory over sin, 00:20:31.63\00:20:33.60 but God's Word says His spirit will give you victory over sin. 00:20:33.63\00:20:37.57 John 14:27. 00:20:37.60\00:20:39.27 You might feel that there's no peace in your life, 00:20:39.30\00:20:41.17 but God's Word says, He will give you peace. 00:20:41.20\00:20:44.07 Psalm 16:11. 00:20:44.11\00:20:45.81 You might feel that you're depressed 00:20:45.84\00:20:47.28 and there's no joy, 00:20:47.31\00:20:48.64 but God's Word says He will give you joy. 00:20:48.71\00:20:50.75 Ephesians 1:4, you might feel, well, 00:20:50.78\00:20:53.42 I'm not chosen or I'm not redeemed, 00:20:53.45\00:20:55.45 or I can't be holy, 00:20:55.48\00:20:56.82 but God's Word says 00:20:56.85\00:20:58.19 you are accepted and redeemed and holy and forgiven in Jesus. 00:20:58.22\00:21:02.39 So just accept by faith what God's Word says about you. 00:21:02.42\00:21:06.06 Amen. 00:22:41.99\00:22:45.56 Well, the rich man and Lazarus is a parable 00:22:45.63\00:22:47.46 for a number of obvious reasons. 00:22:47.50\00:22:49.50 One, the Bible doesn't teach that we die and go to heaven. 00:22:49.53\00:22:52.57 The Bible teaches, we die and are buried. 00:22:52.60\00:22:54.84 And we wait in the grave for the resurrection. 00:22:54.90\00:22:56.91 John 5:28-29, 00:22:56.94\00:22:58.91 "All that are in the graves will hear His voice 00:22:58.94\00:23:01.18 and will come forth. 00:23:01.21\00:23:02.61 Those that have done good to the resurrection of life, 00:23:02.64\00:23:05.45 those that have done evil 00:23:05.48\00:23:06.82 to the resurrection of condemnation." 00:23:06.85\00:23:08.22 So the grave is the place. 00:23:08.25\00:23:09.62 Job says in Job 14, 00:23:09.65\00:23:10.99 "Oh, that you would hide me in the grave 00:23:11.02\00:23:12.62 that you would conceal me until your wrath has passed, 00:23:12.65\00:23:14.89 that you will appoint me a set time and remember me." 00:23:14.96\00:23:17.79 Psalms 146:4, 00:23:17.83\00:23:19.79 "His breath goes forth, he returns to this earth, 00:23:19.83\00:23:21.76 in that very day his plans perish. 00:23:21.80\00:23:24.03 Psalms 115:17, 00:23:24.07\00:23:26.57 "The dead do not praise the Lord, 00:23:26.60\00:23:28.30 neither any that go down into silence." 00:23:28.34\00:23:30.64 So the Bible is clear about what happens. 00:23:30.67\00:23:32.34 The living know that they will die, 00:23:32.37\00:23:33.71 but the dead know not anything. 00:23:33.74\00:23:35.24 Ecclesiastes 9:5-6. 00:23:35.28\00:23:37.68 But this parable is talking about, 00:23:37.71\00:23:40.05 if you read this parable 00:23:40.08\00:23:41.42 and you delete all that the Bible says, 00:23:41.48\00:23:43.32 it sounds like men are conscious, 00:23:43.35\00:23:44.75 they're communicating. 00:23:44.79\00:23:46.12 There's a great gulf, they can see each other. 00:23:46.15\00:23:48.02 This was a parable of Christ to the rich men 00:23:48.06\00:23:52.23 and who did Lazarus represent? 00:23:52.29\00:23:54.03 Lazarus represented those that the rich man ignored, 00:23:54.10\00:23:57.63 but who did not ignore the rich, 00:23:57.67\00:23:59.40 who did not ignore Lazarus, the dogs. 00:23:59.43\00:24:02.34 And when you follow this language in the Bible, 00:24:02.37\00:24:04.54 you find that the Pharisees 00:24:04.57\00:24:06.47 often referred to the Gentiles as dogs. 00:24:06.51\00:24:09.54 Why do we give out the children's food to dogs? 00:24:09.58\00:24:12.68 Why do we cast the pearl to the swine? 00:24:12.71\00:24:14.88 The Pharisees and scribes looked at themselves 00:24:14.92\00:24:17.02 as so exclusive that no one had any salvation outside of them. 00:24:17.05\00:24:21.82 That's why the Bible starts by talking about the rich man 00:24:21.86\00:24:25.03 that had purple and fine linen. 00:24:25.09\00:24:27.93 What was that? 00:24:27.96\00:24:29.26 Exodus 28:15. 00:24:29.30\00:24:30.97 It's the very garments of those who were in the priest, 00:24:31.00\00:24:34.80 in the priesthood. 00:24:34.87\00:24:36.34 "You shall make the breastplate of fine judgment." 00:24:36.37\00:24:39.47 Exodus 28:15, 00:24:39.51\00:24:41.11 "Artistically woven 00:24:41.14\00:24:43.88 according to the workmanship of the ephod, 00:24:43.91\00:24:46.11 you shall make it gold, blue, 00:24:46.15\00:24:49.78 purple and scarlet thread, 00:24:49.82\00:24:52.02 and fine woven linen, you shall make it." 00:24:52.05\00:24:54.99 So right away, the Lord made it really clear. 00:24:55.02\00:24:57.76 I'm talking about the priestly system. 00:24:57.79\00:24:59.96 You find, I talked about the dogs in Matthew 7:6 and 27. 00:25:00.06\00:25:04.40 How the Pharisees made it clear, 00:25:04.43\00:25:06.10 don't cast the children's food to the dogs, 00:25:06.13\00:25:08.80 but they had something else. 00:25:08.87\00:25:10.44 What was falling from the rich man's table? 00:25:10.47\00:25:12.57 Crumbs. 00:25:12.61\00:25:13.94 Well, what does the crumbs represent? 00:25:13.98\00:25:16.11 Crumbs come from bread. 00:25:16.14\00:25:17.85 They had a bread of life, but they wouldn't share it. 00:25:17.88\00:25:20.62 But what did the dogs do? 00:25:20.65\00:25:22.18 The dogs saw the needs of those 00:25:22.25\00:25:24.82 who were rejected by the well-to-do 00:25:24.85\00:25:28.49 by the Pharisees, by the Sadducees, 00:25:28.52\00:25:30.23 by those who had the Word of God, 00:25:30.26\00:25:31.59 but not share it. 00:25:31.66\00:25:33.23 And the dogs or the Gentiles 00:25:33.26\00:25:35.70 took care of the needs of the people 00:25:35.73\00:25:37.20 that were overlooked by those who had the proper doctrines. 00:25:37.23\00:25:40.07 It's a really sad rebuke. 00:25:40.10\00:25:43.61 But lastly, five brothers, why five brothers? 00:25:43.64\00:25:47.14 Because the first five books of the Bible, 00:25:47.18\00:25:49.21 the Pentateuch were the place where the Jews had their pride. 00:25:49.24\00:25:52.91 And they said, we have five brothers, 00:25:52.95\00:25:54.48 warn them less a worst thing come upon them. 00:25:54.52\00:25:57.12 And lastly, if in fact you were in fires, 00:25:57.15\00:26:00.72 I guarantee you that 00:26:00.76\00:26:05.26 by no means one drop of water cool your tongue, 00:26:05.29\00:26:09.10 you are in fires being tormented endlessly. 00:26:09.13\00:26:13.47 The nutshell of it is, 00:26:13.50\00:26:14.94 here's the reason for the story. 00:26:14.97\00:26:17.01 Don't ignore the needs of others 00:26:17.04\00:26:18.94 and think that your doctrinal beliefs 00:26:19.01\00:26:21.14 is all that is needed to be saved. 00:26:21.18\00:26:23.04 That's a nutshell of it. That's good. 00:26:23.08\00:26:24.85 You know, and we always have just a little bit extra time. 00:26:24.88\00:26:26.68 So, Pastor, I'm gonna just actually 00:26:26.72\00:26:28.05 just hang on this just real quick, 00:26:28.08\00:26:29.42 and we'll go to you, Pastor Johnny. 00:26:29.45\00:26:30.79 Why did Jesus speak in parables? 00:26:30.82\00:26:32.32 Why did He do this and tell stories? 00:26:32.39\00:26:33.82 What was the reason, 00:26:33.86\00:26:35.19 instead of just like here it is just like this? 00:26:35.26\00:26:36.59 Well, parables are hidden messages 00:26:36.62\00:26:39.06 and the hidden messages. 00:26:39.13\00:26:40.46 He's spoken many parables to the multitudes. 00:26:40.50\00:26:42.90 But when the disciples came silently, 00:26:42.93\00:26:45.27 He explained to them 00:26:45.33\00:26:46.67 like the parable of the sower that went forth to sow. 00:26:46.70\00:26:49.40 He hid His messages 00:26:49.44\00:26:51.24 because people would have been able 00:26:51.27\00:26:53.61 to single Him out. 00:26:53.64\00:26:55.08 That's why He began by saying the kingdom of God is at hand. 00:26:55.14\00:26:58.21 So later on, He says the kingdom of, 00:26:58.25\00:27:00.15 the kingdom of heaven. 00:27:00.18\00:27:01.52 He said us, in the kingdom of heaven 00:27:01.55\00:27:02.95 is at hand and later the kingdom of God, 00:27:02.98\00:27:04.79 because now after being revealed 00:27:04.82\00:27:06.32 to be the Son of God, He associated Himself with God. 00:27:06.35\00:27:09.89 So He hid the messages in parables, 00:27:09.92\00:27:12.33 but those to whom he spoke it, they knew... 00:27:12.36\00:27:15.66 They knew, yeah, it's powerful. 00:27:15.70\00:27:17.43 Like at a time when they were, 00:27:17.47\00:27:18.83 in a time of sowing seeds in the field planting, He said, 00:27:18.87\00:27:22.10 "A soul went forth to sow." 00:27:22.14\00:27:23.77 And what could the people see in the background? 00:27:23.81\00:27:25.27 Somebody sowing heaps, and they never forgot it. 00:27:25.31\00:27:28.28 Yeah, I think it was beautiful too about Christ, 00:27:28.34\00:27:29.91 Pastor Johnny, as I think about Him and, 00:27:29.94\00:27:31.61 you know, giving these stories if we may say. 00:27:31.65\00:27:33.38 I remember as a child, 00:27:33.42\00:27:34.75 these stories being read to me before I could read, 00:27:34.78\00:27:36.45 well, you would understand that concept 00:27:36.48\00:27:37.82 even as a small child, right, 3, 4, 5? 00:27:37.85\00:27:39.69 But as you grow older, 00:27:39.72\00:27:41.06 you understand there's more depth 00:27:41.09\00:27:42.42 to that more and more. 00:27:42.46\00:27:43.79 So it's amazing 'cause it just crossed 00:27:43.83\00:27:45.19 so many age groups and so much education, 00:27:45.23\00:27:46.70 it's powerful. 00:27:46.73\00:27:48.03 And one quick thing, 00:27:48.06\00:27:49.40 I found out that when you study the Bible, 00:27:49.43\00:27:50.77 I mean, it's deeper than actually we even thought 00:27:50.80\00:27:52.33 the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, 00:27:52.40\00:27:53.94 because they mentioned five. 00:27:53.97\00:27:55.57 The number five is a measurement of usage 00:27:55.60\00:27:59.27 in building the sanctuary. 00:27:59.31\00:28:01.78 Everything is measured by fives. 00:28:01.81\00:28:04.28 I thought, wow, the curtain length, 00:28:04.31\00:28:06.68 the number of curtains, 00:28:06.72\00:28:08.62 the bars that are used are all in the increments of five. 00:28:08.68\00:28:12.15 That's the beauty of the Word of God. 00:28:12.19\00:28:13.69 The more you study, the more you discover, 00:28:13.72\00:28:15.26 I don't know. 00:28:15.32\00:28:16.66 And there's so much deeper richness to discover. 00:28:16.69\00:28:19.29 It's amazing. 00:28:19.33\00:28:20.66 So we want to encourage you at home. 00:28:20.70\00:28:22.00 You know, we're talking about the study of the Word of God 00:28:22.03\00:28:23.43 is to open your Bible and to study as well. 00:28:23.47\00:28:25.60 You know, those that are on the panel today, 00:28:25.63\00:28:26.97 they're just like, oh, hey, 00:28:27.00\00:28:28.37 they've got all this knowledge of the Bible. 00:28:28.40\00:28:29.74 No, they believe in studying the Word of God 00:28:29.77\00:28:32.04 and they make that a daily practice. 00:28:32.07\00:28:33.51 So we want to encourage you to do the same. 00:28:33.54\00:28:35.21 Pastor Johnny, great question here. 00:28:35.24\00:28:36.71 This is from Lindsey, 00:28:36.75\00:28:38.98 "Who are the Nethinims spoken of in Nehemiah 10:28. 00:28:39.01\00:28:45.42 I have an idea of who they are, but I'm not quite sure." 00:28:45.45\00:28:48.19 This is from Heather. 00:28:48.22\00:28:49.56 Very good. Thank you. 00:28:49.59\00:28:50.93 So Nehemiah 10:28 says, 00:28:50.96\00:28:55.10 "Now the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, 00:28:55.13\00:28:57.63 the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, 00:28:57.67\00:29:00.70 and all those who had separated themselves 00:29:00.74\00:29:02.87 from the peoples of the land to the law of God, 00:29:02.90\00:29:05.57 their wives, their sons, and their daughters, 00:29:05.64\00:29:07.41 everyone who had knowledge and understanding." 00:29:07.44\00:29:09.71 They are mentioned as Nethinim. 00:29:09.74\00:29:11.11 They're mentioned a few times, but who are they? 00:29:11.15\00:29:14.12 If you go to Joshua Chapter 9, 00:29:14.15\00:29:16.58 you're going to discover the Gibeonites 00:29:16.62\00:29:19.32 and the Gibeonites were a people 00:29:19.35\00:29:22.59 that saw what was going on 00:29:22.62\00:29:24.16 that the people of Israel, 00:29:24.19\00:29:25.56 God was using them 00:29:25.59\00:29:26.96 and destroying all of these other nations. 00:29:27.00\00:29:29.43 And they became afraid that they too 00:29:29.46\00:29:31.00 were gonna be destroyed. 00:29:31.03\00:29:32.37 So they took counsel among themselves and they said hey, 00:29:32.40\00:29:34.84 what's happened to them is going to happen to us. 00:29:34.87\00:29:37.67 So they made a plan 00:29:37.71\00:29:39.04 to deceive the people of Israel, 00:29:39.11\00:29:40.74 they took old clothes, old sandals, old sacks, 00:29:40.78\00:29:43.91 and they also took old dry moldy bread. 00:29:43.95\00:29:48.52 They took old, really old bread. 00:29:48.55\00:29:49.88 And they said, we've been traveling for a long time, 00:29:49.92\00:29:52.59 and make a covenant with us. 00:29:52.62\00:29:55.39 And so in Joshua Chapter 9, after they presented this. 00:29:55.46\00:29:59.33 This is very interesting. 00:29:59.36\00:30:00.70 It says, "Then the men of Israel 00:30:00.73\00:30:02.46 took some of their provisions, 00:30:02.50\00:30:04.03 but they did not ask counsel of the Lord. 00:30:04.07\00:30:08.20 So Joshua made peace with them and made a covenant with them 00:30:08.24\00:30:11.87 to let them live. 00:30:11.91\00:30:13.41 And the rulers of the congregation 00:30:13.44\00:30:14.94 swore to them." 00:30:14.98\00:30:16.44 So what happens is that later, about three days later, 00:30:16.48\00:30:19.78 the people of Israel discovered we've been deceived, 00:30:19.81\00:30:22.52 we've been deceived. 00:30:22.58\00:30:23.92 So Joshua then makes a proclamation to them 00:30:23.95\00:30:26.05 and he says, verse 23. 00:30:26.09\00:30:27.86 "Now, therefore you are cursed. 00:30:27.89\00:30:29.72 None of you shall be freed from being slaves, 00:30:29.76\00:30:32.49 woodcutters and water carriers for the house of my God." 00:30:32.53\00:30:36.43 So these people, 00:30:36.46\00:30:37.90 the Nethinims were water carriers, 00:30:37.93\00:30:40.54 and hewers of wood. 00:30:40.57\00:30:41.90 They worked in the temple and they had the privilege 00:30:41.97\00:30:44.31 of being in the temple and learning of God. 00:30:44.34\00:30:47.61 So they had an opportunity to know God and be faithful. 00:30:47.64\00:30:51.51 These are the Nethinims. Wonderful. 00:30:51.55\00:30:52.88 Amen. Yeah. Thank you, Pastor Johnny. 00:30:52.91\00:30:54.25 Yes, great answer. 00:30:54.28\00:30:56.08 Jill, this is a question from Terra. 00:30:56.12\00:30:59.45 "Where in the Bible does it point 00:30:59.49\00:31:01.06 to the Sabbath on Saturday 00:31:01.09\00:31:03.76 also that point to which days Christ was crucified and rose, 00:31:03.79\00:31:08.43 also that point to which days Christ was crucified and rose?" 00:31:08.46\00:31:11.43 Thank you so much, Terra, for that question. 00:31:11.47\00:31:13.20 The Sabbath is a perpetual invisible sign of God's people. 00:31:13.23\00:31:16.60 And we're gonna take a quick journey 00:31:16.64\00:31:18.67 through the Word of God. 00:31:18.74\00:31:20.08 The Sabbath, of course, was instituted at creation. 00:31:20.11\00:31:22.31 We see that in Genesis 2:1-3, 00:31:22.34\00:31:25.38 "Thus the heavens and the earth, 00:31:25.41\00:31:26.75 they were finished, and all the hosts of them. 00:31:26.78\00:31:28.48 And on the seventh day, 00:31:28.55\00:31:30.85 God ended the work which He had done, 00:31:30.89\00:31:32.95 and He rested on the seventh day 00:31:32.99\00:31:34.82 from all the work which He had done. 00:31:34.86\00:31:36.36 And He blessed the seventh day 00:31:36.39\00:31:38.13 and sanctified it because in it, 00:31:38.16\00:31:40.70 He had rested from all His work, 00:31:40.73\00:31:42.20 which God created and made. 00:31:42.23\00:31:43.57 So we see that God instituted the Sabbath at creation. 00:31:43.60\00:31:46.87 It was set apart. 00:31:46.90\00:31:48.24 It was sanctified. 00:31:48.27\00:31:49.60 It's a day that is made holy. 00:31:49.64\00:31:50.97 We see this reiterated, of course, 00:31:51.01\00:31:52.64 the children of Israel were at Mount Sinai. 00:31:52.71\00:31:55.18 Exodus 20, you can read it verses 8 through 11. 00:31:55.21\00:31:58.01 It just simply says, remember the Sabbath day, 00:31:58.05\00:32:00.48 because they had lost sight of the Sabbath day. 00:32:00.52\00:32:03.82 Now some people say, well, 00:32:03.85\00:32:05.19 that means the Sabbath was just for the Jews. 00:32:05.22\00:32:06.82 No, it was instituted at creation. 00:32:06.86\00:32:09.09 We know that Abraham in Genesis 26:5, 00:32:09.12\00:32:12.39 "Abraham obeyed my voice and kept My commandments." 00:32:12.46\00:32:16.56 We know in Exodus 16, 00:32:16.60\00:32:18.27 this is even before the Sabbath was reminded 00:32:18.30\00:32:21.70 with the Ten Commandments. 00:32:21.74\00:32:23.07 We see the Sabbath. 00:32:23.10\00:32:24.44 The seventh day was kept when the manna 00:32:24.47\00:32:26.24 was given to the children of Israel. 00:32:26.27\00:32:28.81 We see that the Sabbath was kept 00:32:28.88\00:32:30.78 by Jesus during His life. 00:32:30.81\00:32:32.75 This is in Luke 4:16. 00:32:32.78\00:32:35.18 Jesus came to Nazareth where He had been brought up 00:32:35.22\00:32:37.85 and as His custom was, 00:32:37.89\00:32:39.52 He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day 00:32:39.55\00:32:42.16 and stood up forth to read. 00:32:42.19\00:32:43.89 We also see that the Sabbath was kept by Jesus in His death. 00:32:43.93\00:32:48.03 You referenced what were those days. 00:32:48.06\00:32:50.20 We see, of course, Jesus died on Friday. 00:32:50.23\00:32:52.53 If you look at Luke 23:54, 00:32:52.57\00:32:56.24 we have Joseph of Arimathea preparing the body of Jesus, 00:32:56.27\00:33:00.34 asking for it to be taken down from the cross, 00:33:00.38\00:33:02.54 wrapping it in linen, putting it in the tomb. 00:33:02.61\00:33:05.11 And it says in verse 54, that day was the preparation. 00:33:05.15\00:33:08.28 So that tells us Jesus died on Friday. 00:33:08.32\00:33:10.32 And the Sabbath drew near. 00:33:10.35\00:33:12.62 We know that Jesus rested in the tomb on the Sabbath day, 00:33:12.69\00:33:16.26 on the seventh day. 00:33:16.29\00:33:17.63 Luke 23:56, 00:33:17.66\00:33:19.33 "They returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. 00:33:19.36\00:33:22.10 And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment." 00:33:22.16\00:33:26.17 Then we know Jesus rose on the first day of the week, 00:33:26.23\00:33:28.30 which would be Sunday, Luke 24:1. 00:33:28.34\00:33:30.84 On the first day of the week, 00:33:30.87\00:33:32.47 the women are coming to anoint the body of Jesus 00:33:32.51\00:33:34.91 and they discover He's not there 00:33:34.94\00:33:36.58 because He has risen. 00:33:36.61\00:33:38.71 We see the Sabbath was kept by the apostles. 00:33:38.75\00:33:40.88 This is after the resurrection of Jesus. 00:33:40.92\00:33:43.75 In Act 13, there are several references, 00:33:43.79\00:33:46.15 but Acts 13:44, it says, 00:33:46.19\00:33:48.02 "On the next Sabbath, 00:33:48.06\00:33:49.42 almost the whole city came together 00:33:49.46\00:33:52.03 to hear the Word of God." 00:33:52.09\00:33:54.60 And we know finally that the Sabbath, 00:33:54.63\00:33:56.60 it will be kept in the new earth. 00:33:56.63\00:33:58.60 Isaiah 66:23, 00:33:58.63\00:34:01.14 "It shall come to pass from one new moon to another. 00:34:01.17\00:34:03.64 And from one Sabbath to another, 00:34:03.67\00:34:05.17 all flesh shall come together 00:34:05.21\00:34:07.48 to worship before me says the Lord." 00:34:07.51\00:34:09.54 So God's Sabbath is connected to creation. 00:34:09.58\00:34:12.41 It's connected to redemption. 00:34:12.45\00:34:13.88 It's connected to sanctification. 00:34:13.92\00:34:15.78 And at the end of time, 00:34:15.82\00:34:17.19 it is a special sign of God's people 00:34:17.22\00:34:20.06 and their loyalty to Him. 00:34:20.09\00:34:21.46 Wow. 00:34:21.49\00:34:22.82 Praise the Lord. 00:34:22.86\00:34:24.19 Great answer there, sweetie, 00:34:24.23\00:34:25.59 about the Sabbath Saturday in just a couple of minutes. 00:34:25.63\00:34:28.43 Praise the Lord. 00:34:28.46\00:34:29.80 Now, Pastor John, a good question and I liked it. 00:34:29.83\00:34:32.13 They didn't put their name, but from a continuing 00:34:32.20\00:34:34.44 and grateful viewer and student from California. 00:34:34.47\00:34:37.71 Okay. 00:34:37.74\00:34:39.07 Thank you very much. 00:34:39.14\00:34:40.48 It's a little lengthy here. 00:34:40.51\00:34:41.84 It says, "In 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9, 00:34:41.88\00:34:45.81 it speaks about the antichrist as the mystery of lawlessness, 00:34:45.88\00:34:50.22 who is the He that restraints, 00:34:50.25\00:34:53.59 then is taken out of the way 00:34:53.62\00:34:55.16 so that the lawless one will be revealed? 00:34:55.19\00:34:57.63 I need a more modern speech for this verse 00:34:57.66\00:35:00.36 and verses continuing on through verse 9, 00:35:00.40\00:35:03.26 but not sure if that will help. 00:35:03.30\00:35:05.13 Is Satan taking himself out of the way? 00:35:05.17\00:35:08.14 I'm confused." 00:35:08.17\00:35:10.27 Okay. 00:35:10.31\00:35:11.64 Well praise the Lord that the Bible has an answer. 00:35:11.67\00:35:13.78 Amen. 00:35:13.81\00:35:15.14 Now all we've got to do is ask ourselves the question. 00:35:15.18\00:35:18.28 And this is the biggest part of the question, 00:35:18.31\00:35:20.32 who is the restrainer? 00:35:20.35\00:35:23.05 Who is doing what? 00:35:23.08\00:35:25.29 Well, you have a couple of pictures. 00:35:25.32\00:35:26.72 One you have in Revelation the Bible talks about 00:35:26.76\00:35:29.09 the angels in Revelation 7, 00:35:29.12\00:35:30.69 holding back the winds of strife, 00:35:30.73\00:35:33.50 but that's not what's being referred to here in this verse. 00:35:33.53\00:35:36.03 I would recommend to you 00:35:36.10\00:35:37.43 that what is being referred to here in this verse 00:35:37.47\00:35:39.47 is the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:35:39.50\00:35:42.67 That was the same condition in the days 00:35:42.74\00:35:46.41 when the antediluvians roamed the earth 00:35:46.44\00:35:49.28 in the days of Noah, 00:35:49.31\00:35:50.81 because you notice 00:35:50.85\00:35:52.18 there was a restraining power that was being removed. 00:35:52.25\00:35:55.18 And when that power was removed, 00:35:55.22\00:35:57.09 when that restraint was removed, 00:35:57.12\00:35:59.22 their thoughts and intentions were only evil continually. 00:35:59.29\00:36:02.89 In Genesis Chapter 6, 00:36:02.92\00:36:04.49 the Bible talks about this restraint 00:36:04.53\00:36:07.10 and because the devil cannot restrain himself 00:36:07.13\00:36:11.67 and release himself. 00:36:11.70\00:36:14.67 If he could restrain himself or release himself, 00:36:14.70\00:36:16.50 he'd had done so already if he had the power to do so. 00:36:16.54\00:36:19.71 But the Bible says in Genesis 6:3, 00:36:19.74\00:36:22.78 and the Lord said, 00:36:22.81\00:36:24.15 "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever 00:36:24.18\00:36:28.25 or shall not always strive with man, 00:36:28.28\00:36:30.12 for he is indeed flesh 00:36:30.15\00:36:31.79 yet his days shall be 120 years." 00:36:31.82\00:36:34.86 In this particular time, 00:36:34.89\00:36:36.29 man was put on probation 00:36:36.36\00:36:38.26 and the Lord was in essence saying to Noah, 00:36:38.29\00:36:41.36 in this period of 120 years, 00:36:41.40\00:36:43.67 My Spirit is being withdrawn and it's gonna strive with men 00:36:43.70\00:36:46.13 for only a certain amount of time. 00:36:46.17\00:36:48.14 When that restraint is removed, then what happens? 00:36:48.17\00:36:51.44 The man of sin is revealed who is as, as Paul says, 00:36:51.47\00:36:56.14 but who comes, whose revelation is after the working of Satan. 00:36:56.18\00:37:00.62 But Paul also says 00:37:00.65\00:37:02.02 the mystery of iniquity is already at work. 00:37:02.05\00:37:04.89 Meaning when he wrote this, that power was in existence, 00:37:04.92\00:37:07.82 but it would have a greater manifestation 00:37:07.86\00:37:10.19 as the Spirit of God is being withdrawn. 00:37:10.23\00:37:13.06 So the nutshell of it, Acts 7:51, Peter, I mean, 00:37:13.13\00:37:16.46 Stephen made the very same claim 00:37:16.50\00:37:18.33 about the restraining power 00:37:18.37\00:37:19.90 that was taken away from the Jewish nation. 00:37:19.93\00:37:22.10 He says, "You stiff necked 00:37:22.14\00:37:23.47 and uncircumcised in heart and ears. 00:37:23.51\00:37:25.37 You always resist the Holy Spirit 00:37:25.41\00:37:28.81 as your fathers did so do you. 00:37:28.84\00:37:31.08 So the restraining power is this, 00:37:31.11\00:37:33.05 don't resist the Spirit of God 00:37:33.11\00:37:34.75 whereby we are sealed until the day of redemption. 00:37:34.78\00:37:37.22 Wow. Praise the Lord. 00:37:37.25\00:37:38.59 Thank you. Yeah. 00:37:38.62\00:37:39.95 Great answer from the Word of God. 00:37:39.99\00:37:41.32 Pastor Johnny, this comes from Ruth, 00:37:41.36\00:37:43.46 and she's watching or listening 00:37:43.49\00:37:44.89 from the great country of Zambia. 00:37:44.93\00:37:47.23 And she says, 00:37:47.23\00:37:48.56 "I heard a preacher say 00:37:48.60\00:37:49.93 that some people's probation can end even before they die. 00:37:49.96\00:37:54.10 Is it true? 00:37:54.14\00:37:55.47 And if it is under what circumstances 00:37:55.50\00:37:58.11 can it happen?" 00:37:58.14\00:38:00.31 That is a very good question. 00:38:00.34\00:38:02.18 And I'm going to read a verse from Luke 12:10, 00:38:02.21\00:38:06.41 that helps us to see why this may be. 00:38:06.45\00:38:10.92 In Luke 12:10, Jesus speaking says, 00:38:10.95\00:38:13.39 "And anyone who speaks a word against the Son of man, 00:38:13.42\00:38:17.19 it will be forgiven him. 00:38:17.23\00:38:18.79 But to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, 00:38:18.83\00:38:22.76 it will not be forgiven." 00:38:22.83\00:38:25.73 It may be that someone has done this, 00:38:25.80\00:38:28.94 blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. 00:38:28.97\00:38:30.31 Well, what is that? 00:38:30.34\00:38:31.67 This is something that has been called 00:38:31.71\00:38:33.04 the unpardonable sin. 00:38:33.07\00:38:35.34 And there is a possibility 00:38:35.38\00:38:36.85 that some people may have done that. 00:38:36.88\00:38:39.28 Now, how do you commit this sin? 00:38:39.31\00:38:41.88 It is not a one-time act. 00:38:41.92\00:38:43.85 Otherwise the devil would be on our trails 00:38:43.89\00:38:46.45 every moment of every day, 00:38:46.52\00:38:47.86 trying to lead us to commit this one particular sin. 00:38:47.89\00:38:51.13 But it is a mentality, 00:38:51.16\00:38:53.36 a continued refusal to repent 00:38:53.40\00:38:58.30 and turn to God's way. 00:38:58.33\00:39:00.17 Now how many times 00:39:00.20\00:39:01.84 does the person resist the Holy Spirit? 00:39:01.87\00:39:05.21 And then he's committed the unpardonable sin? 00:39:05.24\00:39:07.84 Only God knows see, so nobody here can say, 00:39:07.88\00:39:12.05 "Hey, that guy over there, 00:39:12.08\00:39:13.42 he's committed the unpardonable sin." 00:39:13.45\00:39:14.78 You can't do that, only God knows. 00:39:14.82\00:39:16.65 So how do you know if you've done this? 00:39:16.69\00:39:19.65 Now remember that when Peter came to Jesus and say, 00:39:19.72\00:39:22.79 how many times should I forgive a person? 00:39:22.82\00:39:26.06 Until seven times? 00:39:26.09\00:39:27.40 I can't remember what he said, but Jesus said, 00:39:27.46\00:39:28.76 "No, until 70 times seven." 00:39:28.80\00:39:32.97 So if God was telling us 00:39:33.00\00:39:35.00 that we should at least do this, 00:39:35.04\00:39:36.77 He is willing to do more. 00:39:36.81\00:39:38.64 So it's not something 00:39:38.67\00:39:42.68 that is done at one particular moment. 00:39:42.71\00:39:44.98 Now it could be. 00:39:45.01\00:39:46.35 Now, one of the things that we can tell you is 00:39:46.38\00:39:49.32 if you have a desire to follow God, 00:39:49.35\00:39:52.69 know God's Word. 00:39:52.72\00:39:54.06 And if you're worried about committing 00:39:54.09\00:39:55.76 the unpardonable sin, 00:39:55.79\00:39:57.29 that is a sign 00:39:57.33\00:39:58.66 that the Holy Spirit is working in your heart. 00:39:58.69\00:40:00.03 Amen. 00:40:00.06\00:40:01.36 That is a sign that you are not completely cemented 00:40:01.40\00:40:04.30 against the drawing of the Lord. 00:40:04.33\00:40:07.07 So I say to you that praise God for that. 00:40:07.10\00:40:11.11 Now there may be some people that are doing, 00:40:11.14\00:40:12.51 what are some of the characteristics? 00:40:12.57\00:40:14.68 I would say that some of these people 00:40:14.71\00:40:16.68 come to the point of what you heard a moment ago. 00:40:16.71\00:40:19.41 Their thoughts are only evil, continually. 00:40:19.45\00:40:22.68 They do evil and they have no qualms, 00:40:22.72\00:40:25.75 don't feel any guilt, or whatsoever, 00:40:25.79\00:40:30.33 hurting babies, hurting... 00:40:30.36\00:40:32.69 I mean, hurting anyone, they just don't care. 00:40:32.73\00:40:35.93 They lost their ability to care. 00:40:35.96\00:40:40.04 And so, 00:40:40.07\00:40:41.74 to blaspheme is equal to speaking 00:40:41.77\00:40:43.71 against the Holy Spirit and to resist the Holy Spirit 00:40:43.74\00:40:47.18 continually and without any remorse whatsoever. 00:40:47.21\00:40:51.71 So it denotes the conscience and wicked rejection 00:40:51.75\00:40:55.78 of the saving power and grace of God toward men, 00:40:55.85\00:40:58.89 only the person who sets themselves 00:40:58.92\00:41:01.22 against the forgiveness of God is excluded from it. 00:41:01.26\00:41:05.73 Well, amen. 00:41:05.76\00:41:07.10 Thank you so much, Pastor Johnny. 00:41:07.13\00:41:08.43 Yeah. Very good point. 00:41:08.46\00:41:10.63 Jill, this is a question from... 00:41:10.67\00:41:14.37 I think you would say the last name is Shadi, Shadai. 00:41:14.40\00:41:17.67 And a good question, 00:41:17.71\00:41:19.04 "Luke 6:38 give and it will be given to you, 00:41:19.07\00:41:23.24 good measure, pressed down, 00:41:23.31\00:41:25.05 shaken together and running over 00:41:25.08\00:41:26.88 will be put into your bosom, 00:41:26.92\00:41:28.75 for with the same measure that you use, 00:41:28.78\00:41:30.89 it will be measured back to you. 00:41:30.92\00:41:33.52 Was Jesus talking about the giving of money 00:41:33.56\00:41:36.12 or loving our enemies 00:41:36.19\00:41:37.53 and people by way of giving love, 00:41:37.56\00:41:39.96 and it should be given back to us in equal measure. 00:41:40.00\00:41:42.90 As I read the scripture from verse 27, 00:41:42.93\00:41:45.57 I noticed the context was about loving our enemies 00:41:45.60\00:41:48.37 and being good to people. 00:41:48.40\00:41:50.47 Are we not misconstruing it 00:41:50.51\00:41:52.11 to mean giving of monies 00:41:52.14\00:41:53.61 since this scripture is always quoted when soliciting funds 00:41:53.64\00:41:56.58 or calling for sponsorship at our churches?" 00:41:56.61\00:41:59.45 Thank you so much for that question. 00:41:59.48\00:42:01.05 I think there are multiple applications 00:42:01.08\00:42:03.55 to the Word of God. 00:42:03.59\00:42:05.02 And we always study scripture in context. 00:42:05.05\00:42:07.42 The context determines meaning. 00:42:07.46\00:42:09.89 If you look at the context of Luke Chapter 6, 00:42:09.92\00:42:11.96 it's actually the sermon on the Mount. 00:42:11.99\00:42:14.56 And Jesus gives that entire blessed 00:42:14.60\00:42:17.50 are the poor in spirit. 00:42:17.53\00:42:18.87 And that whole thing that we understand 00:42:18.90\00:42:20.47 is the Sermon on the Mount. 00:42:20.50\00:42:21.84 Then it goes like you referenced 00:42:21.87\00:42:23.34 the verses 27-36 talks about love your enemies. 00:42:23.37\00:42:27.81 Do good to those who spitefully use you 00:42:27.84\00:42:30.78 and curse you and abuse you. 00:42:30.81\00:42:32.78 Then verse 37, 00:42:32.85\00:42:34.25 which is right before our verse in question, 00:42:34.28\00:42:36.62 Luke 6:37, it says, 00:42:36.65\00:42:38.62 "Judge not, and you will not be judged, 00:42:38.65\00:42:41.02 condemn not, 00:42:41.06\00:42:42.39 and you will not be condemned 00:42:42.42\00:42:44.19 forgive, and you will be forgiven." 00:42:44.23\00:42:46.86 And then it goes into give and it will be given unto you. 00:42:46.90\00:42:50.27 So I believe clearly 00:42:50.30\00:42:52.23 this is talking about forgiveness, 00:42:52.27\00:42:54.04 how much you forgive, it will be forgiven to you. 00:42:54.07\00:42:56.64 It's talking about judgment. 00:42:56.71\00:42:58.21 How much you judge, 00:42:58.24\00:42:59.57 it will in turn be poured back upon you. 00:42:59.61\00:43:03.38 It's talking about love. 00:43:03.41\00:43:04.85 How much you love others, 00:43:04.88\00:43:06.65 it will in turn come back to you. 00:43:06.68\00:43:09.82 Now, can it also reference money? 00:43:09.85\00:43:12.19 Absolutely. 00:43:12.22\00:43:13.59 I think that's a great application. 00:43:13.62\00:43:15.39 When you give, when you pour, it is poured back to you. 00:43:15.42\00:43:18.93 But I believe the primary application, 00:43:18.96\00:43:21.00 if you look at the context, 00:43:21.03\00:43:22.46 it's talking about loving others, 00:43:22.50\00:43:24.00 it's talking about giving, 00:43:24.03\00:43:25.37 it's talking about forgiving and yes, 00:43:25.40\00:43:27.50 we can apply it financially as well. 00:43:27.54\00:43:30.11 So I would say it has a dual application. 00:43:30.14\00:43:32.51 Yeah. Excellent. 00:43:32.57\00:43:33.91 Thank you so very much. 00:43:33.94\00:43:35.28 Praise the Lord. 00:43:35.31\00:43:36.64 Pastor, a good question here from a Chandler, says, 00:43:36.68\00:43:39.31 "Why do we end our prayers with in Jesus' name?" 00:43:39.35\00:43:43.62 Amen. Yes. 00:43:43.65\00:43:45.62 Let me add it, in Jesus' name we pray. 00:43:45.65\00:43:47.29 Amen. 00:43:47.32\00:43:48.66 Exactly. That's a good question. 00:43:48.69\00:43:50.03 That's a wonderful question. 00:43:50.06\00:43:51.83 One of the problems that Jesus was addressing in His day 00:43:51.86\00:43:54.96 was the Pharisee's lack 00:43:55.00\00:43:57.00 of even acknowledging Him at all. 00:43:57.03\00:43:59.70 They would pray to God in the marketplace. 00:43:59.73\00:44:01.74 Thank God. Oh God. 00:44:01.77\00:44:03.64 Thank God, I'm not like other men. 00:44:03.67\00:44:05.37 They would always acknowledge God, 00:44:05.41\00:44:06.98 but they would not acknowledge Him. 00:44:07.01\00:44:09.14 And one of the things He said in John 14:1-3, 00:44:09.18\00:44:12.08 "You believe in God, believe also in Me." 00:44:12.11\00:44:15.52 So because the Lord, 00:44:15.55\00:44:17.25 God sent His Son 00:44:17.29\00:44:19.05 as a propitiation as our sacrifice, 00:44:19.09\00:44:21.86 as our substitute, they would not acknowledge Him. 00:44:21.89\00:44:26.09 And then the reason why we pray in Jesus' name 00:44:26.13\00:44:29.23 is John 14:13-14. 00:44:29.26\00:44:33.84 And I'll start there. 00:44:33.87\00:44:36.07 Jesus says, 00:44:36.10\00:44:37.44 "And whatever you ask in My name 00:44:37.47\00:44:42.28 that I will do, 00:44:42.31\00:44:43.65 that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 00:44:43.68\00:44:46.78 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it." 00:44:46.82\00:44:51.72 Why is He saying in My name? 00:44:51.75\00:44:53.92 Because John 14:6, Jesus said, 00:44:53.96\00:44:56.99 "I am the way, the truth and the life. 00:44:57.03\00:45:00.33 No one comes to the Father except through Me." 00:45:00.36\00:45:04.07 So it's like saying, Greg and Jill. 00:45:04.10\00:45:06.90 Well, I'm not gonna ask Greg and Jill. 00:45:06.94\00:45:09.17 Ian, I'd like to work here. 00:45:09.20\00:45:10.87 You gotta go through Greg and Jill. 00:45:10.91\00:45:13.07 I don't wanna go through Greg and Jill. 00:45:13.14\00:45:15.24 I just wanna work here. 00:45:15.28\00:45:16.75 Oh, no one works here at 3ABN 00:45:16.81\00:45:19.31 who doesn't go through Greg and Jill. 00:45:19.35\00:45:21.55 And the context of this, Jesus is saying, 00:45:21.58\00:45:23.45 do not bypass Me thinking you can get to the Father. 00:45:23.49\00:45:28.36 1 Timothy 2:5, 00:45:28.39\00:45:31.53 "For there is one God 00:45:31.56\00:45:34.40 and one mediator between God and man, 00:45:34.46\00:45:37.40 the man Christ Jesus." 00:45:37.43\00:45:39.17 Amen. 00:45:39.20\00:45:40.54 Now I wasn't waxing Greg and Jill, 00:45:40.57\00:45:41.90 but I was using you as an illustration 00:45:41.94\00:45:43.64 where Jesus was in essence saying, with authority, 00:45:43.67\00:45:46.61 you're not getting to the Father 00:45:46.64\00:45:48.08 unless you go through Me. 00:45:48.11\00:45:50.11 If you ask in My name, 00:45:50.18\00:45:51.61 the Father will do it because He sent me 00:45:51.65\00:45:54.78 to be the mediator between you and Him. 00:45:54.82\00:45:58.82 I am the only way to Him. 00:45:58.85\00:46:00.86 Amen. Yeah. 00:46:00.89\00:46:02.22 Thank you very much, Pastor. 00:46:02.26\00:46:03.63 It's a beautiful relationship, isn't it we can have? 00:46:03.66\00:46:05.06 Yeah. Amen. 00:46:05.09\00:46:06.76 Pastor Johnny, this comes from Roger and his question is, 00:46:06.80\00:46:10.23 "Please explain Deuteronomy 12:15 and 22. 00:46:10.30\00:46:15.40 Some say, this is why they eat pork." 00:46:15.44\00:46:18.94 Well. 00:46:18.97\00:46:20.31 Well done. 00:46:20.34\00:46:21.68 Thank you, Roger, for sending in that question, 00:46:21.71\00:46:23.18 I have to say that anyone who uses these verses 00:46:23.21\00:46:26.58 to justify the eating of pork is making a great mistake. 00:46:26.65\00:46:30.85 The Bible declares that it is an unclean meat. 00:46:30.89\00:46:34.36 So what is unclean? 00:46:34.39\00:46:36.56 An unclean meat is a... 00:46:36.59\00:46:39.26 You can notice 00:46:39.29\00:46:40.93 the unclean animals are the ones 00:46:40.96\00:46:42.96 that eat the garbage of the earth, 00:46:43.00\00:46:45.53 the dead and decaying things. 00:46:45.57\00:46:47.74 The ones, these unclean animals have a higher concentration 00:46:47.77\00:46:52.71 of germs and toxins and carry diseases. 00:46:52.77\00:46:56.78 So do you wanna eat that? 00:46:56.85\00:46:59.11 That's the question. 00:46:59.15\00:47:00.55 Now, some people are justifying this. 00:47:00.58\00:47:01.92 They're putting themselves in danger. 00:47:01.95\00:47:04.55 Let's go to Deuteronomy 12:15 and 22. 00:47:04.59\00:47:07.22 And look at it really quick. 00:47:07.26\00:47:08.59 It says here, 00:47:08.62\00:47:09.96 "However, you may slaughter and eat meat 00:47:09.99\00:47:13.16 within all your gates, whatever your heart desires." 00:47:13.23\00:47:15.86 And this is where some people say, 00:47:15.90\00:47:17.23 "Oh, I can eat whatever I want." 00:47:17.27\00:47:19.10 According, now notice it says, 00:47:19.13\00:47:20.94 "According to the blessing of the Lord, your God, 00:47:20.97\00:47:23.94 which He has given you." 00:47:23.97\00:47:25.84 The food that the Lord has given 00:47:25.87\00:47:28.41 the blessing upon is the clean animals 00:47:28.44\00:47:31.78 and all the vegetables and fruits and grains. 00:47:31.81\00:47:34.28 Those are the ones that have received the Lord's blessing, 00:47:34.32\00:47:36.89 not the unclean animals. 00:47:36.92\00:47:38.82 Now notice how it says, 00:47:38.85\00:47:40.49 "The unclean and the clean may eat of it, 00:47:40.52\00:47:43.66 of the gazelle and the deer alike." 00:47:43.73\00:47:45.76 I'm gonna go to the next verse. 00:47:45.79\00:47:47.50 Verse 22, 00:47:47.56\00:47:48.86 "Just as the gazelle and deer are eaten, 00:47:48.90\00:47:51.80 so you may eat them, 00:47:51.83\00:47:53.90 the unclean and the clean alike may eat them." 00:47:53.94\00:47:57.07 Now, what does this mean? 00:47:57.11\00:47:58.51 This is talking about people when it says unclean 00:47:58.54\00:48:02.98 and clean may eat of it. 00:48:03.01\00:48:04.41 It's talking about people, 00:48:04.45\00:48:05.78 people that are unclean and people that are clean 00:48:05.81\00:48:07.98 can eat all these animals. 00:48:08.02\00:48:09.72 And notice how it says of the deer and the gazelle, 00:48:09.78\00:48:13.09 naming clean animals. 00:48:13.15\00:48:15.66 So in essence, 00:48:15.69\00:48:17.03 a person could become ritually unclean 00:48:17.06\00:48:19.43 by touching a dead carcass. 00:48:19.46\00:48:21.06 He's considered unclean until evening. 00:48:21.10\00:48:23.47 So that person could eat of these animals 00:48:23.53\00:48:26.70 even though he's ritually unclean. 00:48:26.74\00:48:29.00 This is, what is the distinction 00:48:29.04\00:48:30.97 that is being made here. 00:48:31.01\00:48:32.34 It is not talking about that you can eat unclean animals 00:48:32.37\00:48:35.54 because the Lord has already said, 00:48:35.58\00:48:38.01 don't eat of these things. 00:48:38.05\00:48:39.98 There's no contradiction here. 00:48:40.02\00:48:41.72 This is just a reference to people 00:48:41.75\00:48:44.92 that are clean ritually and unclean ritually 00:48:44.95\00:48:50.03 can eat all these animals in their homes. 00:48:50.09\00:48:53.06 Amen. 00:48:53.09\00:48:54.40 Thank you very much, Pastor Johnny. 00:48:54.46\00:48:55.76 Good answer. 00:48:55.80\00:48:57.13 This is from Jack and it says, 00:48:57.20\00:48:59.33 "why did God tell Adam and Eve 00:48:59.37\00:49:01.67 not to eat from the tree of good and evil, 00:49:01.70\00:49:04.41 even though this had nothing to do 00:49:04.44\00:49:06.54 with the Ten Commandments?" 00:49:06.57\00:49:08.51 Thank you, Jack, for that question. 00:49:08.54\00:49:10.01 I would say that this had everything to do 00:49:10.05\00:49:12.85 with the Ten Commandments. 00:49:12.88\00:49:14.22 The command not to eat 00:49:14.25\00:49:15.58 from the tree of knowledge of good and evil 00:49:15.62\00:49:17.05 is definitely connected with the Ten Commandments. 00:49:17.09\00:49:19.72 I can think of at least three commandments 00:49:19.75\00:49:21.29 that were broken when Eve partook of the forbidden fruit. 00:49:21.32\00:49:24.73 Look at the tenth commandment. 00:49:24.76\00:49:26.09 We're in Exodus 20:17, 00:49:26.13\00:49:28.80 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house." 00:49:28.83\00:49:32.40 Keep your finger in Exodus 20. 00:49:32.43\00:49:33.97 Let's go back to the original sin 00:49:34.00\00:49:36.10 and temptation. 00:49:36.14\00:49:37.54 This is in Genesis 3:6, 00:49:37.57\00:49:39.64 "When the woman, that's Eve, 00:49:39.71\00:49:41.54 saw that the tree was good for food, 00:49:41.58\00:49:43.28 that it was pleasant to the eyes, 00:49:43.31\00:49:44.71 a tree desirable to make one wise, 00:49:44.75\00:49:48.08 she took of its fruit." 00:49:48.12\00:49:49.45 That word desirable in Hebrew is covetous. 00:49:49.48\00:49:52.05 It's the same word 00:49:52.09\00:49:53.49 used in Exodus Chapter 24, the word covet. 00:49:53.52\00:49:56.09 You shall not covet. 00:49:56.12\00:49:57.59 So Eve, she broke the tenth commandment. 00:49:57.63\00:49:59.73 You shall not covet, 00:49:59.76\00:50:01.06 when she partook and desired that forbidden fruit. 00:50:01.10\00:50:04.50 She also broke the first commandment. 00:50:04.53\00:50:06.27 What's the first commandment? 00:50:06.33\00:50:07.67 Exodus 20:3 says, 00:50:07.70\00:50:09.04 "You shall have no other gods before Me. 00:50:09.07\00:50:10.91 And what did the serpent tell Eve in Genesis 3:5, 00:50:10.94\00:50:14.74 "For God knows in the day you eat of it, 00:50:14.78\00:50:16.75 your eyes will be opened 00:50:16.78\00:50:18.11 and you will be like God knowing good and evil." 00:50:18.15\00:50:23.49 Eve desired. 00:50:23.52\00:50:25.02 What did it say in the first commandment? 00:50:25.05\00:50:26.65 You shall have no other gods before Me. 00:50:26.69\00:50:28.86 And yet Eve desired to be like God, 00:50:28.89\00:50:32.83 that's breaking the first commandment. 00:50:32.86\00:50:34.73 She also broke the fifth commandment, 00:50:34.76\00:50:36.36 which says, 00:50:36.43\00:50:37.77 honor your father and your mother, 00:50:37.80\00:50:40.00 that your days may be long upon the land, 00:50:40.04\00:50:42.04 which the Lord your God has given you. 00:50:42.07\00:50:43.77 God was in essence, Adam and Eve's father. 00:50:43.81\00:50:46.64 And He had commanded, 00:50:46.68\00:50:48.11 don't eat of the tree of knowledge 00:50:48.14\00:50:50.05 of good and evil. 00:50:50.11\00:50:51.45 And she directly disobeyed the command of her father. 00:50:51.48\00:50:54.35 That's breaking the fifth commandment. 00:50:54.38\00:50:56.12 In addition, James 2:10 tells us, 00:50:56.15\00:50:59.09 "If whoever keeps the whole law 00:50:59.12\00:51:01.12 and yet stumbles in one point is guilty of all." 00:51:01.16\00:51:04.16 So she might have broken three of the commandments, 00:51:04.19\00:51:06.49 but she was really guilty of all. 00:51:06.53\00:51:08.36 Amen. Wow. 00:51:08.40\00:51:09.73 Praise the Lord. Amen. 00:51:09.76\00:51:11.10 In Spanish, you would say excellente. 00:51:11.13\00:51:13.50 Does that mean excellent? 00:51:13.54\00:51:14.87 Excellent. Praise the Lord. 00:51:14.90\00:51:16.24 Well, I tell you this hour always goes by in a real hurry. 00:51:16.27\00:51:19.31 What we're gonna do right now is actually take 00:51:19.34\00:51:20.74 a really quick break. 00:51:20.78\00:51:22.11 Then we'll be right back with a few closing comments. 00:51:22.14\00:51:25.45 If you're enjoying our 3ABN Bible Q and A, 00:51:25.48\00:51:28.32 then tell your friends. 00:51:28.35\00:51:29.85 Each Monday we'll bring you a fresh program, 00:51:29.88\00:51:32.35 answering the Bible questions you send us 00:51:32.39\00:51:34.59 and we'll use God's Holy Word to shed light on those texts 00:51:34.62\00:51:37.63 that seem difficult to understand. 00:51:37.66\00:51:39.89 If you would like your questions answered 00:51:39.96\00:51:41.70 on an upcoming program, just email them to us. 00:51:41.73\00:51:44.73 Our email address is BibleQA@3abn.org 00:51:44.77\00:51:49.34 That's BibleQA@3abn.org 00:51:49.37\00:51:54.01 You can also text us your questions 00:51:54.04\00:51:56.08 by sending them to (618) 228-3975. 00:51:56.11\00:52:00.72 That number again is (618) 228-3975. 00:52:00.75\00:52:05.82 Be sure to include your name and where you live, 00:52:05.85\00:52:08.36 and then watch 3ABN Bible Q and A 00:52:08.39\00:52:23.37
