Yeah. 00:04:40.91\00:04:42.38 That's the key to getting older, 00:04:42.41\00:04:44.71 bodies in motion stay in motion. 00:04:44.75\00:04:46.08 There you go. 00:04:46.11\00:04:47.45 But, you know, the joy of studying God's Word, 00:04:47.48\00:04:49.18 knowing truth is one thing but knowing Jesus 00:04:49.22\00:04:51.22 is something altogether different. 00:04:51.25\00:04:52.59 Amen. Thank you. 00:04:52.62\00:04:53.96 You cannot separate Jesus from the truth. 00:04:53.99\00:04:55.99 And we've had questions 00:04:56.02\00:04:57.36 where people have tried to do that, 00:04:57.39\00:04:58.73 but John 17:3 said, 00:04:58.76\00:05:00.16 "And this is life eternal, that they may know you, 00:05:00.20\00:05:03.37 the only true God and Jesus Christ 00:05:03.40\00:05:04.80 whom You sent." 00:05:04.83\00:05:06.17 So when you know the truth, 00:05:06.20\00:05:08.10 you cannot separate knowing the truth from knowing Christ. 00:05:08.14\00:05:10.97 Amen. It's impossible. 00:05:11.04\00:05:12.37 Well, thank you for sharing that, Pastor. 00:05:12.41\00:05:13.74 And, Jill, I have commented on that too, 00:05:13.78\00:05:15.11 just your sermons at church. 00:05:15.14\00:05:16.48 And just, of course, being around you 00:05:16.51\00:05:17.85 is that you have a vast knowledge of the Bible, 00:05:17.88\00:05:19.58 it's just incredible, 00:05:19.61\00:05:20.95 the gifts that God has given to you. 00:05:20.98\00:05:22.32 But you also know Jesus Christ personally and intimately. 00:05:22.35\00:05:24.79 And that just comes through. 00:05:24.82\00:05:26.15 So thank you for sharing that aspect. 00:05:26.19\00:05:27.52 We want to encourage you at home too. 00:05:27.59\00:05:28.99 It's great to know the scriptures, 00:05:29.02\00:05:30.36 build a debate, so to speak, or to answer these questions. 00:05:30.39\00:05:33.06 But don't forget to make Jesus Christ 00:05:33.09\00:05:34.83 number one in your life. 00:05:34.83\00:05:36.56 Before we open the Word and go to the first question. 00:05:36.60\00:05:38.80 Brother Jason, let's pray and get started. 00:05:38.83\00:05:42.00 Dear Heavenly Father, 00:05:42.04\00:05:43.37 we thank You for the opportunity 00:05:43.41\00:05:45.14 and privilege that we have to study Your Word. 00:05:45.17\00:05:48.18 And, Father, as we answer these questions from Your Word, 00:05:48.21\00:05:52.18 Lord, we ask for Your Holy Spirit 00:05:52.21\00:05:54.02 to lead and guide us and be with the listeners 00:05:54.05\00:05:57.52 and the viewers as well. 00:05:57.59\00:05:58.95 In Jesus' name we pray. 00:05:58.99\00:06:00.42 Amen. 00:06:00.46\00:06:01.86 Thank you, Jason. 00:06:01.89\00:06:03.22 And I'm gonna come to you with the first question. 00:06:03.26\00:06:04.59 Okay? Okay. 00:06:04.63\00:06:05.96 Does it work for you? All right. 00:06:05.99\00:06:07.30 There's no name with this, 00:06:07.36\00:06:08.66 but it's a really good question. 00:06:08.70\00:06:10.03 "What is a true Christian? 00:06:10.07\00:06:11.60 Is it someone who says, 00:06:11.63\00:06:13.03 I believe but does not read the Bible, 00:06:13.07\00:06:15.50 will not go to church, 00:06:15.54\00:06:16.87 will not listen to when you're talking 00:06:16.91\00:06:18.71 to them about Christ." 00:06:18.74\00:06:20.08 So basically, the question is what is a true Christian? 00:06:20.11\00:06:22.68 No, that's not a true Christian. 00:06:22.71\00:06:24.25 A true Christian is someone who has faith 00:06:24.28\00:06:27.02 and diligently seeks God. 00:06:27.05\00:06:28.65 Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith, 00:06:28.68\00:06:32.02 it is impossible to please Him, 00:06:32.05\00:06:33.96 for he who comes to God 00:06:33.99\00:06:35.66 must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder 00:06:35.69\00:06:39.46 of those who diligently seek Him." 00:06:39.49\00:06:41.66 A true Christian is one that loves God. 00:06:41.70\00:06:44.70 John 14:15, says, "If you love Me, 00:06:44.73\00:06:48.37 keep My commandments." 00:06:48.40\00:06:50.41 A true Christian chooses Christ as opposed to carnality 00:06:50.47\00:06:54.78 and reflects the character of Christ. 00:06:54.81\00:06:57.01 Colossians 3:1-5 says, 00:06:57.05\00:07:00.55 "If then you are raised with Christ, 00:07:00.58\00:07:02.72 seek those things 00:07:02.75\00:07:04.09 which are above where Christ is, 00:07:04.12\00:07:06.15 sitting at the right hand of God. 00:07:06.19\00:07:08.39 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth, 00:07:08.42\00:07:13.16 for you died and your life is hidden with Christ and God. 00:07:13.19\00:07:16.73 When Christ who is our life appears, 00:07:16.77\00:07:19.60 then you also will appear with Him in glory. 00:07:19.63\00:07:23.17 Therefore put to death your members 00:07:23.20\00:07:25.04 which are on the earth, fornication, uncleanness, 00:07:25.07\00:07:27.94 passions, evil desire, and covetousness, 00:07:27.98\00:07:31.31 which is idolatry." 00:07:31.35\00:07:34.12 Colossians 3:12-16 says, 00:07:34.18\00:07:37.25 "Therefore as the elect of God, 00:07:37.29\00:07:39.35 holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, 00:07:39.39\00:07:42.46 kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, 00:07:42.49\00:07:46.19 bearing with one another and forgiving one another. 00:07:46.23\00:07:48.96 If anyone has a complaint against another, 00:07:49.00\00:07:51.83 even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 00:07:51.87\00:07:56.24 But above all these things put on love, 00:07:56.27\00:07:58.47 which is the bond of perfection 00:07:58.51\00:08:00.98 and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, 00:08:01.01\00:08:04.41 to which also you were called in one body and be thankful." 00:08:04.45\00:08:10.12 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. 00:08:10.15\00:08:13.46 And in all wisdom, teaching, 00:08:13.49\00:08:15.59 and admonishing one another in psalms 00:08:15.62\00:08:18.56 and hymns and spiritual songs, 00:08:18.59\00:08:20.33 singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 00:08:20.36\00:08:22.76 And whatever you do in word or deed, 00:08:22.80\00:08:25.77 do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, 00:08:25.80\00:08:28.60 giving thanks to God, the Father through him. 00:08:28.64\00:08:32.31 A true Christian possesses the fruit of the Spirit. 00:08:32.34\00:08:36.38 Galatians 5:22-23, 00:08:36.41\00:08:40.38 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, 00:08:40.42\00:08:42.38 joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, 00:08:42.42\00:08:47.39 faithfulness, gentleness, 00:08:47.42\00:08:49.16 self control, against such there is no law." 00:08:49.19\00:08:53.33 A true Christian not only talks the talk, 00:08:53.36\00:08:57.27 but a true Christian walks the walk. 00:08:57.30\00:09:00.27 Excellent, Jason. Yeah. 00:09:00.30\00:09:01.70 Fantastic. Thank you. 00:09:01.74\00:09:03.07 It's great answer. 00:09:03.10\00:09:04.44 And you know, we cannot do that on our own. 00:09:04.47\00:09:06.37 That's right. Right. 00:09:06.41\00:09:07.74 Ask God, look, I can't do this, but You can, right? 00:09:07.81\00:09:10.58 Praise the Lord. Thank you. 00:09:10.61\00:09:11.95 Good job, Jason. 00:09:11.98\00:09:13.31 Jill, this is a good question. 00:09:13.35\00:09:14.68 No name with it, but it is. 00:09:14.75\00:09:16.69 They're asking, 00:09:16.72\00:09:18.05 "What is an unequally yoked marriage? 00:09:18.12\00:09:21.79 It's a great question. 00:09:21.82\00:09:23.16 I would say aside from accepting Jesus, 00:09:23.19\00:09:25.06 choosing a spouse is the most important decision 00:09:25.09\00:09:27.83 you will ever make. 00:09:27.86\00:09:29.66 Choosing a spouse has eternal consequences. 00:09:29.70\00:09:32.10 For positive I think of Proverbs 27:17, 00:09:32.13\00:09:35.04 "As iron sharpens iron, 00:09:35.07\00:09:36.77 so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." 00:09:36.81\00:09:39.34 We can lead and encourage each other toward heaven, 00:09:39.37\00:09:43.14 or it can have negative consequences. 00:09:43.18\00:09:45.15 I think of 1 Corinthians 15:33, 00:09:45.18\00:09:48.25 "Do not be deceived, 00:09:48.28\00:09:49.92 evil company corrupts good habits." 00:09:49.95\00:09:53.49 You know, if you read the Old Testament, 00:09:53.52\00:09:54.99 you see this danger of the Israelites, 00:09:55.02\00:09:58.63 the chosen people of God. 00:09:58.66\00:10:00.30 We would call them the Christians uniting 00:10:00.33\00:10:03.16 in marriage with pagan idolaters. 00:10:03.20\00:10:05.73 Especially I see that in Ezra 9 and Nehemiah 13. 00:10:05.77\00:10:09.90 We see how seriously God took marriage, 00:10:09.94\00:10:12.64 and we see the bad consequences of intermarriage 00:10:12.67\00:10:15.84 with a pagan with a believer. 00:10:15.88\00:10:18.81 In 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. 00:10:18.85\00:10:22.62 It says, "Do not be unequally yoked together 00:10:22.65\00:10:25.65 with unbelievers. 00:10:25.69\00:10:27.19 For what fellowship has righteousness 00:10:27.22\00:10:29.02 with unrighteousness? 00:10:29.06\00:10:30.39 What communion has light with darkness? 00:10:30.43\00:10:32.53 What accord has Christ with Belial? 00:10:32.56\00:10:35.63 What part has a believer with an unbeliever? 00:10:35.66\00:10:37.80 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? 00:10:37.83\00:10:40.77 For you are the temple of the living God." 00:10:40.80\00:10:43.61 So we see here an unequally yoked marriage 00:10:43.64\00:10:47.44 is a Christian with a non believer, 00:10:47.51\00:10:50.78 but I would take it even further than that. 00:10:50.81\00:10:52.65 Some people say you need to be part 00:10:52.68\00:10:54.75 of the same denomination. 00:10:54.78\00:10:56.18 And there is truth in that 00:10:56.22\00:10:57.72 because you had the same beliefs, 00:10:57.75\00:10:59.15 and the same values, and the same goals, 00:10:59.19\00:11:01.62 and the same biblical understanding. 00:11:01.66\00:11:04.13 But I would take it even further than that, 00:11:04.19\00:11:06.09 because I could say, well, I'm a Seventh-day Adventist, 00:11:06.13\00:11:08.30 so I will look for a Seventh-day Adventist. 00:11:08.33\00:11:10.33 Just because you're a Seventh-day Adventist 00:11:10.37\00:11:12.43 or you belong to a certain denomination 00:11:12.47\00:11:14.87 does not mean you are a Christian. 00:11:14.90\00:11:17.07 So it is so important 00:11:17.11\00:11:19.01 that when you look for a spouse, 00:11:19.04\00:11:21.01 you look for a spouse with the same biblical values 00:11:21.04\00:11:24.48 that is vitally important, 00:11:24.51\00:11:25.88 but they also need to know Jesus. 00:11:25.91\00:11:27.88 Amen. Excellent. 00:11:27.95\00:11:29.52 Yeah. Excellent point. 00:11:29.55\00:11:30.92 Thank you so much. 00:11:30.95\00:11:32.29 Pastor John, this question comes from Tony. 00:11:32.32\00:11:34.49 They live in New Jersey. 00:11:34.52\00:11:36.12 "Can anyone explain why most Christians believe 00:11:36.16\00:11:39.36 the church will be raptured before the tribulation 00:11:39.39\00:11:42.10 when the Bible states otherwise? 00:11:42.13\00:11:44.17 What scriptures are they reading 00:11:44.20\00:11:46.00 because I haven't found any yet?" 00:11:46.03\00:11:48.07 Well, let me give you a little bit 00:11:48.14\00:11:49.47 of background on it first 00:11:49.50\00:11:50.84 because the rapture theory is something 00:11:50.87\00:11:52.21 that is taken off like a brush fire, 00:11:52.24\00:11:53.58 you know what that does. 00:11:53.61\00:11:55.08 But many Christians believe what they believe 00:11:55.11\00:11:56.71 because of what they've been taught. 00:11:56.75\00:11:58.65 But the rapture theory began with the Roman Catholic Church. 00:11:58.68\00:12:01.45 During the Dark Ages, 00:12:01.48\00:12:03.02 the reformers knew 00:12:03.05\00:12:04.42 that Bible prophecy pointed to papal Rome 00:12:04.45\00:12:07.59 as the system of the Antichrist 00:12:07.62\00:12:09.42 and they were determined to change that. 00:12:09.46\00:12:11.59 So the Roman Catholic leadership commissioned two men 00:12:11.66\00:12:14.60 Francisco Ribera and Luis de Alcazar 00:12:14.63\00:12:17.60 to come up with a prophetic theory 00:12:17.67\00:12:19.50 and they came up with something called preterism and futurism. 00:12:19.53\00:12:23.00 Luis de Alcazar came up with preterism. 00:12:23.04\00:12:25.51 And that is to say, well, 00:12:25.54\00:12:26.88 those prophecies have already been fulfilled before us, 00:12:26.91\00:12:29.41 but no one would buy that. 00:12:29.44\00:12:31.25 So Francisco Ribera came up with futurism. 00:12:31.28\00:12:34.52 And they took Daniel 9:24-27 00:12:34.55\00:12:37.49 that speaks about the 70 weeks prophecy. 00:12:37.52\00:12:39.02 Yes. 00:12:39.05\00:12:40.39 And they took the very last week and said, 00:12:40.42\00:12:42.39 let' s create something called the gap theory, 00:12:42.42\00:12:44.76 it's the doctrine of futurism. 00:12:44.83\00:12:46.49 They said, let's put this all the way down toward the end 00:12:46.53\00:12:49.00 because it pointed to the Antichrist. 00:12:49.03\00:12:51.27 And we knew that that week pointed to Christ. 00:12:51.33\00:12:55.20 So they created something called the gap 00:12:55.24\00:12:57.17 between the 69th and 70th week and separated them 00:12:57.21\00:13:01.04 by more than 1000 years. 00:13:01.11\00:13:03.14 And they said, so that means 00:13:03.18\00:13:04.95 this cannot possibly point to Rome, 00:13:04.98\00:13:07.08 because Rome right now is not a part of that prophecy. 00:13:07.12\00:13:10.62 But it became even more popular 00:13:10.65\00:13:12.69 under the teaching of dispensationalism. 00:13:12.72\00:13:16.26 The pre-tribulation rapture. 00:13:16.29\00:13:18.49 So there's a view called 00:13:18.53\00:13:20.36 pre-tribulation pre-millennialism, 00:13:20.40\00:13:23.26 meaning the belief that Jesus is going to come that Christ 00:13:23.30\00:13:26.43 will come before the tribulation, 00:13:26.47\00:13:28.10 and before the 1000 years, 00:13:28.14\00:13:30.07 but we are post-tribulation, pre-millennialist, 00:13:30.11\00:13:34.14 meaning the Bible teaches that Jesus 00:13:34.18\00:13:36.11 will come after the tribulation before the 1000 years begin. 00:13:36.14\00:13:40.52 But now this, this teaching was later on, 00:13:40.55\00:13:43.05 and it goes through quite a bit of a metamorphosis, 00:13:43.08\00:13:46.19 because many of the church fathers looking at this view, 00:13:46.22\00:13:49.19 knowing that it was not scriptural. 00:13:49.22\00:13:50.83 A man by the name of John N Darby, 00:13:50.89\00:13:52.66 John Nevins Darby. 00:13:52.69\00:13:54.10 He embraced the view 00:13:54.13\00:13:55.46 and his contemporaries in England said, 00:13:55.50\00:13:57.53 "Abandon it, it has no scriptural support." 00:13:57.60\00:13:59.77 But he continued going forth. 00:13:59.80\00:14:02.04 Then later on an America man by the name of Cyrus Ingersoll, 00:14:02.07\00:14:05.37 Ingersoll Scofield picked it up 00:14:05.41\00:14:07.18 the Scofield Chain Reference Bible 00:14:07.21\00:14:08.91 and interwove this belief into that Bible. 00:14:08.94\00:14:11.41 So if you have the Scofield Chain Reference Bible 00:14:11.45\00:14:13.31 is going to teach you about the secret rapture, 00:14:13.35\00:14:15.38 which is not supported by Scripture. 00:14:15.42\00:14:17.25 It became popular in the 1970s by Hal Lindsey, 00:14:17.29\00:14:20.46 further in the contemporary version 00:14:20.49\00:14:22.16 by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins 00:14:22.19\00:14:23.83 in the Left Behind series, 00:14:23.86\00:14:25.46 and they used certain Bible verses 00:14:25.49\00:14:27.03 to support that such as Luke 17:34-37. 00:14:27.03\00:14:31.00 When it says, "Two will be in the field, 00:14:31.03\00:14:32.67 one will be taken, one will be left." 00:14:32.70\00:14:35.24 And they said the one that meant taken 00:14:35.27\00:14:36.97 will be taken to heaven. 00:14:37.01\00:14:38.34 The ones that are left are left behind. 00:14:38.37\00:14:40.58 But the Bible doesn't support 00:14:40.61\00:14:41.94 that because when the Bible talks about left, 00:14:41.98\00:14:44.58 he says, the question was in verse 37, 00:14:44.61\00:14:47.85 where will they be left, Lord, Luke asked the question. 00:14:47.88\00:14:51.12 And it says where the body is 00:14:51.15\00:14:53.05 there the eagle will be gathered. 00:14:53.09\00:14:55.59 So those who are left or left alive, 00:14:55.62\00:14:58.06 those who are taken as in the days of Noah, 00:14:58.09\00:15:00.43 the flood came and took them all away. 00:15:00.46\00:15:02.60 They're taken in destruction. 00:15:02.63\00:15:04.40 But the rapture theory has no support, 00:15:04.43\00:15:06.53 and millions of Christians 00:15:06.57\00:15:07.97 are looking for something that will not occur. 00:15:08.00\00:15:10.74 Wow. Excellent. 00:15:10.77\00:15:12.11 Thank you, Pastor, too also in the history of that too. 00:15:12.14\00:15:13.98 Fantastic, plus the biblical answer. 00:15:14.01\00:15:17.11 Jason, this question comes from Fran. 00:15:17.15\00:15:19.55 "If God is the only immortal one, 00:15:19.58\00:15:22.02 why is Satan still here? 00:15:22.05\00:15:24.32 Is Satan immortal, or how can he still be alive?" 00:15:24.35\00:15:28.62 Good question. Yes, it is. 00:15:28.66\00:15:30.06 Well, friend, I'm so glad that Satan is not immortal. 00:15:30.09\00:15:34.40 And the reason why he's still here 00:15:34.46\00:15:36.40 is because God has to allow things to play out, 00:15:36.43\00:15:39.70 you know, so that his character can be fully vindicated, 00:15:39.73\00:15:43.84 and people can recognize how evil sin truly is. 00:15:43.87\00:15:48.74 But let's consider the following verses. 00:15:48.78\00:15:52.21 Romans 6:23, 00:15:52.25\00:15:54.95 "For the wages of sin is death, 00:15:55.02\00:15:58.49 but the gift of God is eternal life 00:15:58.52\00:16:01.72 in Christ Jesus, our Lord." 00:16:01.79\00:16:03.96 Satan is the chief of sinners. 00:16:03.99\00:16:06.56 He is the reason sin even exists. 00:16:06.59\00:16:09.96 So, with that being said, if the wages of sin are death, 00:16:10.00\00:16:15.27 you better believe that he's going to experience that. 00:16:15.30\00:16:18.67 John 3:16, 00:16:18.71\00:16:20.44 "For God so loved the world 00:16:20.48\00:16:22.18 that He gave His only begotten Son 00:16:22.21\00:16:24.11 that whoever believes in Him should not perish, 00:16:24.15\00:16:27.45 but have everlasting life." 00:16:27.48\00:16:30.25 So our belief should motivate us to act. 00:16:30.29\00:16:33.52 We should act on what we believe. 00:16:33.56\00:16:36.09 The devil has nothing to do with serving the Lord. 00:16:36.12\00:16:39.49 He has his own agenda and he wants to seek, 00:16:39.53\00:16:44.00 he seeks who he can devour, 00:16:44.03\00:16:45.97 who he can destroy, who he can kill, 00:16:46.00\00:16:47.90 who he can pull away from God. 00:16:47.94\00:16:50.41 So he does not love the Lord. 00:16:50.44\00:16:53.61 1 Timothy 6:14-16. 00:16:53.64\00:16:58.75 It says this, 00:16:58.78\00:17:00.82 "That you keep this commandment without spot, 00:17:00.85\00:17:03.62 blameless, until our Lord Jesus Christ appearing, 00:17:03.65\00:17:07.16 which He will manifest in His own time. 00:17:07.19\00:17:09.89 He who is blessed, and only potentate, 00:17:09.92\00:17:14.30 the King of kings and Lord of lords, 00:17:14.30\00:17:17.40 who alone has immortality dwelling 00:17:17.43\00:17:20.94 in a unapproachable light, 00:17:20.97\00:17:23.04 who no man has seen or can see, 00:17:23.07\00:17:25.97 to whom be honor and everlasting power." 00:17:26.01\00:17:28.71 Amen. 00:17:28.74\00:17:30.08 There's gonna come a time 00:17:30.11\00:17:31.45 where there will be no more sickness, 00:17:31.51\00:17:32.85 no more suffering, no more disease, 00:17:32.88\00:17:34.68 no more sorrow, 00:17:34.72\00:17:36.05 and we won't be terrorized any longer by the devil. 00:17:36.08\00:17:39.65 Amen. 00:17:39.69\00:17:41.02 Yeah, praise the Lord that He will be destroyed. 00:17:41.06\00:17:43.73 Praise God for that. 00:17:43.76\00:17:45.69 Jill, this question comes from Instagram, 00:17:45.73\00:17:48.33 no name, but says, 00:17:48.36\00:17:50.20 "When the Scripture 00:17:50.23\00:17:51.60 and the pen of inspiration both talk 00:17:51.63\00:17:53.27 about modesty and dress, 00:17:53.30\00:17:55.40 does that mean women cannot wear trousers 00:17:55.44\00:17:58.24 and can only wear clothes reaching below the knees?" 00:17:58.27\00:18:01.88 That's a great question. 00:18:01.94\00:18:03.28 Thank you so much for sending that in. 00:18:03.31\00:18:04.71 I believe the principle when we look at dress, 00:18:04.75\00:18:06.92 especially pertaining to woman is modesty and femininity. 00:18:06.95\00:18:11.19 I have seen women in skirts and I'm a woman I guess 00:18:11.25\00:18:13.66 I can say this where they're not very modest. 00:18:13.69\00:18:15.76 And I have seen the opposite. 00:18:15.79\00:18:18.09 You can see women in pants that they're not very modest. 00:18:18.13\00:18:20.53 So the principle is modesty and femininity. 00:18:20.56\00:18:24.50 If you look at Deuteronomy 22:5, 00:18:24.53\00:18:26.33 this is probably the verse that you're referring to. 00:18:26.37\00:18:28.80 I know it's a verse that I have had quoted 00:18:28.84\00:18:31.14 to me many times in the past. 00:18:31.17\00:18:32.94 It says, "A woman shall not wear anything 00:18:32.97\00:18:34.91 that pertains to a man, 00:18:34.94\00:18:36.34 nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, 00:18:36.38\00:18:38.58 for all who do so are an abomination 00:18:38.61\00:18:41.18 to the Lord your God." 00:18:41.25\00:18:42.58 Now that word abomination is pretty strong. 00:18:42.62\00:18:44.19 It's used in the Word of God. 00:18:44.22\00:18:45.55 It means the testable thing 00:18:45.59\00:18:47.12 it's used pertaining to homosexuality. 00:18:47.16\00:18:49.52 It's used pertaining to idolatry 00:18:49.56\00:18:51.86 and other things that God abhors. 00:18:51.89\00:18:54.60 But is it saying that God is abhorring pants? 00:18:54.63\00:18:56.56 No. 00:18:56.60\00:18:57.97 It's saying that God is abhorring 00:18:58.00\00:19:00.14 the cross dressing, 00:19:00.17\00:19:02.84 the transvestite behavior. 00:19:02.87\00:19:05.44 If you look at the children of Israel, 00:19:05.47\00:19:07.84 both men and woman wore robes. 00:19:07.91\00:19:11.08 The difference was that the woman had embroidery 00:19:11.11\00:19:14.85 of blue on their shoulders, 00:19:14.88\00:19:16.55 and that differentiated between the sexes. 00:19:16.58\00:19:19.92 So the difference is what God is saying 00:19:19.95\00:19:22.56 the abomination, the difficult thing 00:19:22.59\00:19:24.56 here is the Canaanite worship practices. 00:19:24.59\00:19:27.40 It is the blurring of the distinction 00:19:27.46\00:19:29.63 between the sexes. 00:19:29.66\00:19:31.03 It is that behavior that's associated 00:19:31.07\00:19:33.70 with a cult like pagan practices, 00:19:33.74\00:19:36.77 and it also refers not only to dress, 00:19:36.81\00:19:39.61 but to implements, tools, weapons and war. 00:19:39.64\00:19:42.51 So it encompasses the whole package 00:19:42.54\00:19:44.41 when women try to become like a man. 00:19:44.45\00:19:46.75 Or by contrast, maybe a man tries to become like a woman. 00:19:46.78\00:19:51.42 So it's not talking about wearing pants 00:19:51.49\00:19:53.32 because you can wear pants 00:19:53.36\00:19:54.69 that are both modest and feminine. 00:19:54.76\00:19:56.46 It's talking about that blurring 00:19:56.49\00:19:58.33 of distinction between the sexes, 00:19:58.36\00:20:00.46 or that cross dressing 00:20:00.50\00:20:02.23 that is what is considered an abomination. 00:20:02.26\00:20:04.83 Excellent. 00:20:04.87\00:20:06.20 Yeah, thank you so much, because I've heard 00:20:06.23\00:20:07.57 a lot of discussion on that topic. 00:20:07.60\00:20:09.44 So yeah, thank you so very much. 00:20:09.47\00:20:10.97 Good, good answer there. 00:20:11.01\00:20:12.57 I want to just encourage you to 00:20:12.61\00:20:13.94 because that question came from Instagram. 00:20:13.98\00:20:16.04 And that's another way 00:20:16.08\00:20:17.41 that you can actually reach out to us 00:20:17.45\00:20:18.81 with a question or a comment 00:20:18.85\00:20:20.42 for 3ABN Today Bible Q and A, 00:20:20.45\00:20:23.15 and it's 3ABN underscore official. 00:20:23.18\00:20:27.29 So you can also just send a question 00:20:27.32\00:20:29.42 to us via Instagram, 00:20:29.46\00:20:31.03 or you can text us 00:20:31.06\00:20:32.39 at (618)-228-3975 or email, 00:20:32.43\00:20:36.77 BibleQA@3abn.org 00:20:36.80\00:20:40.94 and we just say thank you so much 00:20:40.97\00:20:42.40 for sending in your questions and comments 00:20:42.44\00:20:44.24 and for your interest in the Word of God. 00:20:44.27\00:20:46.64 And, Pastor John, 00:20:46.68\00:20:48.01 this is a rather lengthy question. 00:20:48.04\00:20:50.45 It comes from Vignette. 00:20:50.48\00:20:52.71 She says, "My question is from Romans 11:26-28. 00:20:52.75\00:20:59.22 All Israel shall be saved. 00:20:59.25\00:21:01.76 I believe that this text is referring 00:21:01.79\00:21:03.96 to the Jewish nation, 00:21:03.99\00:21:05.63 and not spiritual Israel because of the reference 00:21:05.66\00:21:08.73 in verses 26 through 28, Pastor." 00:21:08.76\00:21:10.67 Okay. 00:21:10.70\00:21:12.03 "It says the deliverer shall come out of Zion, 00:21:12.10\00:21:14.00 where Zion is in? 00:21:14.04\00:21:15.37 Isn't it Jerusalem? 00:21:15.40\00:21:16.74 Other references say, 00:21:16.77\00:21:18.14 for this is my covenant unto them. 00:21:18.17\00:21:20.31 We know that the children of Israel 00:21:20.34\00:21:22.01 were the only nation that God 00:21:22.04\00:21:23.38 made a covenant with and lastly, 00:21:23.41\00:21:25.55 as touching the elect, 00:21:25.58\00:21:26.92 they are beloved for the father sake. 00:21:26.95\00:21:29.28 Therefore, I cannot see how these verses 00:21:29.32\00:21:31.75 are pertaining to the spiritual Israel, 00:21:31.82\00:21:33.69 the church. 00:21:33.72\00:21:35.09 Please enlighten me. Thank you so much." 00:21:35.12\00:21:36.76 Sure, no problem. 00:21:36.79\00:21:38.66 It is clear that the Lord made a covenant with Israel. 00:21:38.69\00:21:41.13 The Bible tells us that in Deuteronomy, 00:21:41.20\00:21:42.63 I didn't choose you because you are great among the nations. 00:21:42.66\00:21:45.30 You are the least among the nations. 00:21:45.37\00:21:46.70 But let's ask the question, why did God choose them? 00:21:46.74\00:21:49.47 He didn't choose them because they were different in DNA, 00:21:49.50\00:21:52.31 they were different in their physical makeup. 00:21:52.34\00:21:54.51 He chose them as messengers, 00:21:54.58\00:21:57.15 that they would allow their light as Paul 00:21:57.18\00:21:59.58 and Barnabas said to the Jews, in the city of Antioch, 00:21:59.61\00:22:03.12 it was necessary that the Word of God 00:22:03.15\00:22:05.02 should be given to you first, 00:22:05.05\00:22:06.49 and that you should be allied into the Gentiles. 00:22:06.52\00:22:08.72 That was the purpose the Lord chose them, 00:22:08.79\00:22:10.86 like UPS and Federal Express, 00:22:10.89\00:22:13.13 and all the other delivery services, post office, 00:22:13.16\00:22:15.53 when that person takes the uniform off 00:22:15.60\00:22:17.20 at the end of the day, 00:22:17.23\00:22:18.57 you can't tell the difference between him and another person. 00:22:18.60\00:22:20.37 But when they have a uniform on, 00:22:20.40\00:22:21.97 they have a special function. 00:22:22.04\00:22:23.41 If they decide I don't want to deliver these packages, 00:22:23.44\00:22:25.61 they're fired. 00:22:25.64\00:22:27.04 The Jews decided they don't want to deliver the message. 00:22:27.08\00:22:29.41 And the Lord said to them in the New Testament, 00:22:29.44\00:22:31.05 your house has left unto you desolate. 00:22:31.08\00:22:33.28 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, 00:22:33.31\00:22:34.65 how often I would have gathered you 00:22:34.72\00:22:36.92 as a hen gathers her chicks, but you would not come." 00:22:36.95\00:22:39.85 And then he foretold the destruction 00:22:39.89\00:22:41.36 of the temple in AD 70. 00:22:41.39\00:22:43.29 But there's a very significant point. 00:22:43.32\00:22:44.83 Let's go to Romans 9:6-8. 00:22:44.86\00:22:47.36 Because the covenant that the Lord made 00:22:47.40\00:22:50.10 was solidified through Abraham. 00:22:50.13\00:22:52.03 Abraham's faithfulness resulted in God making a promise. 00:22:52.07\00:22:56.04 But look what happened? 00:22:56.07\00:22:57.41 Romans 9:6-8, 00:22:57.44\00:22:59.24 "But it is not that the word of God 00:22:59.27\00:23:00.68 has taken no effect." 00:23:00.71\00:23:02.11 And this is also in Romans. 00:23:02.18\00:23:03.51 Paul addresses the setting two chapters earlier. 00:23:03.55\00:23:06.98 He says, "For they are not all Israel 00:23:07.02\00:23:09.65 who are of Israel, 00:23:09.68\00:23:11.69 nor are they the children 00:23:11.72\00:23:13.05 because they are the seed of Abraham, 00:23:13.09\00:23:15.29 but, 'In Isaac your seed shall be called.'" 00:23:15.36\00:23:18.73 That is verse 8, 00:23:18.76\00:23:20.16 "Those who are the children of the flesh, 00:23:20.20\00:23:22.96 these are not the children of God, 00:23:23.00\00:23:25.77 but the children of the promise are counted as the seed." 00:23:25.80\00:23:28.80 In Galatians 3:27, and 29, 00:23:28.84\00:23:31.87 "For as many of you as were baptized 00:23:31.91\00:23:33.64 into Christ have put on Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, 00:23:33.68\00:23:37.18 there is neither male, slave nor free, 00:23:37.21\00:23:38.81 there's neither male nor female, 00:23:38.85\00:23:40.68 but you are all one in Christ Jesus. 00:23:40.72\00:23:42.95 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, 00:23:42.98\00:23:47.39 and heir according to the promise." 00:23:47.42\00:23:49.32 This is a spiritual promise. 00:23:49.36\00:23:51.26 The Jews as a nation, the leadership rejected Jesus. 00:23:51.29\00:23:54.76 That's why He chose the disciples, 00:23:54.83\00:23:58.70 train them and chose the apostles 00:23:58.73\00:24:00.44 to carry the gospel that the Jews 00:24:00.47\00:24:02.47 decided not to carry. 00:24:02.50\00:24:04.41 Excellent, Pastor. Thank you very much. 00:24:04.44\00:24:06.31 Yeah, excellent answer. 00:24:06.34\00:24:09.11 Jason, this is from Jennifer. 00:24:09.14\00:24:11.21 Her question is, "If man has body, 00:24:11.25\00:24:13.75 soul and spirit, and when he dies, 00:24:13.78\00:24:16.38 the body goes to the grave 00:24:16.42\00:24:17.75 and the spirit goes back to God, 00:24:17.79\00:24:19.52 what happens to the soul? 00:24:19.55\00:24:21.52 The Bible does mention the soul." 00:24:21.56\00:24:24.19 Well, thank you for that question, Jennifer. 00:24:24.23\00:24:26.66 There are a lot of misconceptions 00:24:26.70\00:24:28.06 about the state of the dead. 00:24:28.13\00:24:29.46 So let's get some clarity from the Word of God. 00:24:29.50\00:24:31.60 We'll begin in Genesis 2:7. 00:24:31.63\00:24:34.50 In Genesis 2:7, 00:24:34.54\00:24:36.30 we're looking at the King James Version and it says, 00:24:36.34\00:24:38.44 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, 00:24:38.47\00:24:42.74 and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, 00:24:42.78\00:24:46.11 and man became a living soul." 00:24:46.15\00:24:49.05 So man became a living soul there. 00:24:49.08\00:24:52.15 Notice that man didn't become a living soul until God 00:24:52.22\00:24:55.02 breathed into his nostrils. 00:24:55.09\00:24:57.96 When we die, we returned to the dust. 00:24:57.99\00:25:00.33 Consider Genesis 3:19, 00:25:00.36\00:25:04.50 "In the sweat of your face, 00:25:04.53\00:25:06.33 you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, 00:25:06.37\00:25:09.07 for out of it you were taken for dust 00:25:09.10\00:25:11.54 you are and to dust you shall return." 00:25:11.57\00:25:15.04 So there's no floating immortal soul 00:25:15.11\00:25:18.38 or anything like that. 00:25:18.41\00:25:19.75 Also look at Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 and 10, 00:25:19.78\00:25:25.35 "For the living know that they will die, 00:25:25.42\00:25:27.59 but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, 00:25:27.62\00:25:30.89 for the memory of them is forgotten. 00:25:30.93\00:25:32.86 Also their love, 00:25:32.89\00:25:34.20 their hatred and their envy have now perished. 00:25:34.23\00:25:36.77 Nevermore will they have a share 00:25:36.80\00:25:38.27 in anything done under the sun. 00:25:38.30\00:25:40.57 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, 00:25:40.60\00:25:43.61 for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom 00:25:43.64\00:25:46.84 in the grave where you are going." 00:25:46.88\00:25:49.31 And also consider James 2:26, 00:25:49.34\00:25:53.21 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, 00:25:53.25\00:25:55.72 so faith without works is dead also." 00:25:55.75\00:25:59.09 Now, I'm not sure if you're watching 00:25:59.12\00:26:01.06 this program on television or you're listening 00:26:01.09\00:26:03.09 to it on the radio. 00:26:03.12\00:26:04.46 But for the purpose of this illustration, 00:26:04.49\00:26:05.86 let's just assume that you're watching it on TV, 00:26:05.89\00:26:09.10 and someone unplugs the television. 00:26:09.13\00:26:12.17 There's no more electricity in that that TV, 00:26:12.20\00:26:15.44 no more electricity going to the television, 00:26:15.47\00:26:18.07 so you don't see anything. 00:26:18.11\00:26:19.44 It's just a shell comprised of internal parts. 00:26:19.47\00:26:22.31 And without the breath of life, 00:26:22.38\00:26:24.45 we are no longer a living soul. 00:26:24.48\00:26:28.18 Excellent. 00:26:28.22\00:26:29.55 Thank you for that illustration, Jason. 00:26:29.58\00:26:30.92 Very good. I like that. 00:26:30.95\00:26:32.42 I too. Me too. 00:26:32.49\00:26:35.16 Jill, this comes from Mercedes. 00:26:35.19\00:26:38.26 Her question comes from 1 Corinthians 8:1-13. 00:26:38.33\00:26:43.53 "I know the issue here is food offered to idols 00:26:43.57\00:26:46.57 mentioned by Sister Jill on her previous programs. 00:26:46.60\00:26:49.20 So this is kind of a follow up then. 00:26:49.24\00:26:50.81 I have friends that offer food and other stuff to their idols. 00:26:50.84\00:26:54.38 Wow. 00:26:54.41\00:26:55.74 They have invited me to join them on occasion. 00:26:55.78\00:26:58.81 I mentioned to them that the time clashes 00:26:58.85\00:27:01.42 with the Lord Sabbath, but to be honest, 00:27:01.45\00:27:03.32 I was not sure how to start sharing 00:27:03.35\00:27:05.19 the truth of God's Word with them. 00:27:05.22\00:27:07.36 So I made an excuse. 00:27:07.39\00:27:09.92 I've read this scripture several times, 00:27:09.96\00:27:12.96 but could never piece together the true meaning 00:27:12.99\00:27:15.16 for myself as a believer of the Word. 00:27:15.20\00:27:17.60 So please share your thoughts on this, 00:27:17.63\00:27:19.73 1 Corinthians 8:1-13." 00:27:19.77\00:27:21.70 Thank you so much, Mercedes, for that question. 00:27:21.74\00:27:23.64 Let's go to 1 Corinthians 8, 00:27:23.67\00:27:25.17 and we're going to read that there. 00:27:25.21\00:27:26.54 Of course, the parallel passage to 1 Corinthians 8 00:27:26.57\00:27:28.94 is Romans Chapter 14, which we won't look at today. 00:27:28.98\00:27:33.05 1 Corinthians 8, we'll pick it up in verse 1. 00:27:33.08\00:27:35.98 The issue in this chapter is how we should love and care 00:27:36.02\00:27:40.52 for our brothers and sisters. 00:27:40.56\00:27:42.89 It says, now concerning things offered to idols, 00:27:42.92\00:27:45.53 now if we pause here, 00:27:45.59\00:27:47.03 Paul uses the issue of food offered to idols 00:27:47.03\00:27:49.73 as a springboard to talk about how Christians should love 00:27:49.76\00:27:52.87 and care for fellow believers. 00:27:52.90\00:27:54.97 We know that the Jerusalem Council, 00:27:55.00\00:27:56.71 if you can look that up in Acts Chapter 15. 00:27:56.74\00:27:59.04 This whole issue with whether the Gentile Christians 00:27:59.07\00:28:02.18 needed to be circumcised in order 00:28:02.21\00:28:04.45 to become Christians. 00:28:04.48\00:28:06.01 And the Jerusalem Council decided 00:28:06.05\00:28:07.48 they did not need circumcision, 00:28:07.52\00:28:08.88 but there were certain parameters 00:28:08.92\00:28:10.79 that they still needed to follow. 00:28:10.82\00:28:12.75 One of those was no food, 00:28:12.79\00:28:14.66 don't eat food offered to idols. 00:28:14.69\00:28:18.29 So then it says, we know that we all have knowledge, 00:28:18.33\00:28:20.23 of course, the knowledge would be that idols 00:28:20.26\00:28:22.16 are just manmade objects. 00:28:22.23\00:28:24.03 Knowledge puffs up but love edifies. 00:28:24.07\00:28:26.07 Let's jump down to verse 4. 00:28:26.10\00:28:28.30 "Therefore concerning the eating 00:28:28.34\00:28:29.67 of things offered to idols." 00:28:29.70\00:28:31.04 We know that an idol is nothing in the world, 00:28:31.07\00:28:32.97 and that there is no other God but one, 00:28:33.01\00:28:34.71 meaning you know that idols are only manmade objects, 00:28:34.74\00:28:38.18 we worship the one true God, 00:28:38.21\00:28:41.68 for even if there are so called gods, 00:28:41.75\00:28:43.52 whether in heaven or on earth, yet for us, there is one God, 00:28:43.55\00:28:48.06 the Father of whom are all things, 00:28:48.09\00:28:49.76 and we for him and one Lord Jesus Christ, 00:28:49.79\00:28:52.59 through whom are all things, and through whom we live. 00:28:52.66\00:28:56.97 We worship God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 00:28:57.00\00:28:59.47 We worship the Creator God. 00:28:59.50\00:29:01.07 We don't worship a manmade idol. 00:29:01.10\00:29:03.81 Jump down to verse 7 and 8. 00:29:03.84\00:29:05.54 This comes in the concern for the weak. 00:29:05.57\00:29:08.91 "Therefore there is not in everyone that knowledge," 00:29:08.94\00:29:12.48 or that knowledge that idols are only manmade things, 00:29:12.51\00:29:15.78 "for some with consciousness of the idol until now eat 00:29:15.85\00:29:19.12 it is the thing offered to an idol 00:29:19.15\00:29:20.52 and their conscience being weak is defiled." 00:29:20.56\00:29:23.99 They're still afraid of the supernatural power 00:29:24.03\00:29:27.66 you could say of that idol or what they see 00:29:27.73\00:29:30.33 is the supernatural power of that idol. 00:29:30.37\00:29:32.70 But food does not commend us to God. 00:29:32.77\00:29:34.94 "For neither if we eat, are we the better, 00:29:34.97\00:29:36.94 neither if we do not eat, are we the worst?" 00:29:36.97\00:29:39.57 It talks about the conscience being weak, 00:29:39.61\00:29:42.08 or someone's conscience who's susceptible 00:29:42.11\00:29:44.31 to those doubts and fears. 00:29:44.35\00:29:46.18 And then verses 9 through 13, he puts the clincher. 00:29:46.21\00:29:50.09 We are not supposed to be a stumbling block 00:29:50.12\00:29:54.16 to our brothers and sisters. 00:29:54.19\00:29:56.46 That's really the purpose of this passage. 00:29:56.49\00:29:59.16 It says in verse 11, 00:29:59.23\00:30:02.16 "Because of your knowledge that the weak brother perish, 00:30:02.20\00:30:04.97 for whom Christ died." 00:30:05.00\00:30:06.43 You and I have a responsibility to our brothers and sisters. 00:30:06.47\00:30:10.77 "But when you thus sin against the brethren, 00:30:10.81\00:30:14.44 by causing them to stumble 00:30:14.48\00:30:16.34 and wound their weak conscience." 00:30:16.38\00:30:18.21 So the point of this whole passage 00:30:18.25\00:30:20.12 is that you and I are called to love our brothers 00:30:20.15\00:30:23.85 and sisters enough that we would not be 00:30:23.89\00:30:26.35 a stumbling block to someone else. 00:30:26.39\00:30:28.66 Wow. Excellent. 00:30:28.72\00:30:30.16 Thank you. Very good. 00:30:30.19\00:30:31.53 Great explanation. 00:30:31.56\00:30:32.89 Very good explanation of that response. 00:30:32.93\00:30:34.23 Yes, very good. 00:30:34.30\00:30:36.23 Pastor John, this question comes from Instagram. 00:30:36.26\00:30:39.20 And this says, asks, 00:30:39.23\00:30:41.34 "What Bible verse tells us that God wants us 00:30:41.37\00:30:44.31 to be a part of a particular church, 00:30:44.34\00:30:46.94 His church?" 00:30:46.98\00:30:48.31 Okay, wonderful. 00:30:48.34\00:30:49.68 Now, the Bible doesn't mention a denominational name. 00:30:49.71\00:30:51.71 That's the one thing that we cannot find 00:30:51.78\00:30:53.31 in the scriptures. 00:30:53.35\00:30:54.68 It just mentions, choose Gentiles, 00:30:54.72\00:30:57.22 it mentions the followers of Christ 00:30:57.25\00:30:59.59 and those who are not followers of Christ, 00:30:59.62\00:31:01.96 but you begin to put the picture together 00:31:01.99\00:31:03.56 when you read scriptures such as John 10:16, 00:31:03.59\00:31:05.89 where Jesus says, 00:31:05.93\00:31:07.23 "Other sheep I have that are not of this fold, 00:31:07.30\00:31:10.07 them also I must bring and they will hear My voice 00:31:10.10\00:31:13.64 and they will be one fold, one shepherd." 00:31:13.67\00:31:17.51 So Jesus does not support duplicity in religion. 00:31:17.54\00:31:20.58 He doesn't say it doesn't matter really 00:31:20.61\00:31:22.21 what fold you're part of. 00:31:22.24\00:31:23.58 If that were the case, he would have said, 00:31:23.61\00:31:25.38 "Other sheep I have that are not of this fold." 00:31:25.41\00:31:28.32 But he said, I'm not satisfied with where they are. 00:31:28.35\00:31:30.49 That's why he said them also, I must bring. 00:31:30.52\00:31:32.82 While the question is, how can He bring them? 00:31:32.85\00:31:35.29 He said, "They will hear My voice." 00:31:35.32\00:31:37.86 When you read about that the Bible starts beginning 00:31:37.89\00:31:40.63 to establish parameters 00:31:40.66\00:31:42.10 whereby we can know if we are in the right place 00:31:42.13\00:31:46.07 or the wrong place. 00:31:46.10\00:31:47.57 For example, Isaiah 8:20. 00:31:47.60\00:31:49.70 So if you're looking for a fold, 00:31:49.74\00:31:51.54 ask this question, 00:31:51.57\00:31:52.91 do you speak according to God's law, 00:31:52.94\00:31:54.28 and God's Word? 00:31:54.31\00:31:55.68 Excellent. 00:31:55.71\00:31:57.05 He says, Isaiah 8:20, 00:31:57.08\00:31:58.41 "If they do not speak according to this word, 00:31:58.45\00:32:00.35 it is because there is no light in them." 00:32:00.38\00:32:02.58 Now, why is that word light so powerful? 00:32:02.62\00:32:04.75 It is a dual meaning light of the Word of God, 00:32:04.79\00:32:07.06 thy word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path. 00:32:07.09\00:32:09.59 Secondly, but most importantly, 00:32:09.62\00:32:11.73 Jesus is saying, I'm not in there, 00:32:11.76\00:32:13.93 because I am the light of the world. 00:32:13.96\00:32:15.83 Don't go on there they may look like I connect to them, 00:32:15.90\00:32:17.87 but I don't connect to them. 00:32:17.90\00:32:19.47 Matthew 7:21-23, I never knew you, 00:32:19.50\00:32:22.84 read that passage. 00:32:22.87\00:32:24.34 Then 1 John 2:3-4, 00:32:24.37\00:32:26.14 once again, a direct connection. 00:32:26.21\00:32:29.81 Verse 4 says, "He who says, 00:32:29.84\00:32:32.18 I know Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar, 00:32:32.25\00:32:35.08 and the truth is not in him." 00:32:35.12\00:32:37.05 The light is not there. 00:32:37.09\00:32:38.42 I'm not there, the truth is not there. 00:32:38.45\00:32:40.79 And who is the Lord saying, 00:32:40.82\00:32:42.16 the devil is angry with and here's my point. 00:32:42.19\00:32:43.69 If the devil is angry with me, 00:32:43.73\00:32:46.16 I must be doing something right. 00:32:46.23\00:32:48.36 Revelation 12:17, 00:32:48.40\00:32:50.73 "And the dragon was enraged with the woman 00:32:50.77\00:32:52.63 and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, 00:32:52.67\00:32:55.64 who keeps the commandments of God, 00:32:55.70\00:32:57.21 and have the testimony of Jesus." 00:32:57.24\00:32:58.97 So if you find a fold 00:32:59.01\00:33:00.41 that keeps the commandments of God, 00:33:00.44\00:33:02.04 and have the testimony of Jesus, 00:33:02.11\00:33:03.81 which I'm not going to say, it's ours, 00:33:03.85\00:33:05.58 but I'm going to say it is ours. 00:33:05.65\00:33:08.02 The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy, 00:33:08.05\00:33:11.15 how well do they stand on Bible prophecy? 00:33:11.19\00:33:14.22 And do they honor all Ten Commandments of God? 00:33:14.26\00:33:17.06 When you follow those parameters, 00:33:17.09\00:33:18.53 you can't help but to find 00:33:18.56\00:33:20.46 where Jesus' light is, and His presence is. 00:33:20.50\00:33:23.43 Wow! 00:33:23.47\00:33:24.80 Thank you very much, Pastor. 00:33:24.83\00:33:26.17 You know, the way this program works, it's... 00:33:26.23\00:33:27.64 Wow, it's like, you know, 00:33:27.67\00:33:29.00 just got to almost take a breath, 00:33:29.04\00:33:30.37 you know, part way through the program. 00:33:30.41\00:33:31.74 You know, these questions are just fantastic. 00:33:31.77\00:33:33.21 And I don't say the following to discourage you. 00:33:33.24\00:33:35.68 But we have received hundreds 00:33:35.74\00:33:37.31 and hundreds of questions 00:33:37.35\00:33:39.31 for the Bible Q and A program. 00:33:39.35\00:33:41.08 So thank you so much for submitting them. 00:33:41.12\00:33:42.48 Don't become discouraged though, 00:33:42.52\00:33:43.85 because we carefully go through each one. 00:33:43.89\00:33:46.15 Thank you to the Donna and the team that goes 00:33:46.19\00:33:47.76 through all of these questions that come in. 00:33:47.79\00:33:49.32 We take each one very seriously. 00:33:49.36\00:33:51.83 So thank you, again, for submitting each one. 00:33:51.86\00:33:54.20 But it's happening so fast here on the set, 00:33:54.23\00:33:56.03 I want to encourage you to go 00:33:56.06\00:33:57.40 to 3abnplus.tv 00:33:57.43\00:34:00.30 3abnplus.tv 00:34:00.34\00:34:03.27 because there you can find these programs on demand. 00:34:03.30\00:34:05.81 So you can actually watch the program 00:34:05.87\00:34:07.31 there and then stop and then take notes. 00:34:07.34\00:34:09.54 Because I'm still thinking about your answer 00:34:09.58\00:34:10.98 was it 1 Corinthians was it 8? 00:34:11.01\00:34:13.01 And then Pastor John is talking about the true church. 00:34:13.05\00:34:14.62 I'm like, whoa, wait, I'm still thinking about this. 00:34:14.65\00:34:16.42 And then I think about that. 00:34:16.45\00:34:17.79 So that's the beauty of 3abnplus.tv 00:34:17.82\00:34:21.86 You can go there and actually watch these programs, 00:34:21.89\00:34:23.79 pause it, take your notes, and then continue on. 00:34:23.83\00:34:25.59 So I want to just encourage you to watch or YouTube as well. 00:34:25.63\00:34:28.93 These programs are also on YouTube. 00:34:28.96\00:34:31.43 Jason, good question here from Elifa. 00:34:31.47\00:34:36.71 I may not, I'm sure I'm not pronouncing 00:34:36.74\00:34:38.31 that name correctly, but it's a great name. 00:34:38.34\00:34:40.21 The question is, "The Bible says to treat others 00:34:40.24\00:34:42.81 the way you expect to be treated. 00:34:42.84\00:34:45.48 Why do some people not treat others 00:34:45.51\00:34:48.12 the way they expect to be treated?" 00:34:48.15\00:34:49.82 Wow, that is a great question. 00:34:49.85\00:34:52.25 Elifa, I wish everyone treated others 00:34:52.32\00:34:55.02 how they wanted to be treat. 00:34:55.06\00:34:56.89 Unfortunately, we live in a sinful world 00:34:56.93\00:34:59.96 and how we treat others is often times 00:35:00.06\00:35:02.26 a reflection of who we serve. 00:35:02.30\00:35:05.30 Let's take a look at a few scriptures here. 00:35:05.33\00:35:09.57 1 John 4:20, "If someone says, 00:35:09.60\00:35:13.41 I love God and hates his brother, 00:35:13.44\00:35:16.14 he is a liar. 00:35:16.21\00:35:17.55 For he who does not love his brother 00:35:17.58\00:35:19.28 whom he has seen, 00:35:19.31\00:35:20.82 how can he love God whom he has not seen?" 00:35:20.85\00:35:23.85 Ephesians 6:12, 00:35:23.89\00:35:26.55 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, 00:35:26.59\00:35:29.69 but against principalities, against powers, 00:35:29.72\00:35:31.99 against the rulers of the darkness of this age, 00:35:32.03\00:35:34.93 against spiritual hosts of wickedness 00:35:34.96\00:35:37.47 in the heavenly places." 00:35:37.50\00:35:39.30 Another reason people don't treat others the way 00:35:39.37\00:35:42.94 they want to be treated is because they only care 00:35:42.97\00:35:45.01 about their own interests. 00:35:45.04\00:35:46.68 They're selfish. Yes. 00:35:46.71\00:35:48.71 Philippians 2:4 says, 00:35:48.78\00:35:51.61 "Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, 00:35:51.65\00:35:56.72 but also for the interest of others." 00:35:56.75\00:35:59.09 We need to care about other people. 00:35:59.12\00:36:01.36 As Christians, we are to treat people 00:36:01.39\00:36:03.22 the way Christ would treat them regardless 00:36:03.26\00:36:06.80 of how they treat us. 00:36:06.83\00:36:08.36 This can definitely be a hard thing to do 00:36:08.40\00:36:10.33 when someone says something rude. 00:36:10.37\00:36:11.90 It's extremely tempting to just come back 00:36:11.93\00:36:15.07 with something rude right back. 00:36:15.10\00:36:17.07 But Proverbs 15:1 says, 00:36:17.11\00:36:20.24 "A soft answer turns away wrath, 00:36:20.28\00:36:23.38 but a harsh word stirs up anger." 00:36:23.41\00:36:25.35 It's good. 00:36:25.38\00:36:26.72 We don't treat people how Christians 00:36:26.75\00:36:29.42 should treat people because they treat us that way. 00:36:29.45\00:36:32.39 We treat them that way because we are Christians, 00:36:32.42\00:36:35.19 and we know better. 00:36:35.22\00:36:36.56 And when you know better, you should do better. 00:36:36.59\00:36:38.96 Amen. Excellent, Jason. 00:36:39.03\00:36:40.76 You know, it's very easy, 00:36:40.80\00:36:42.10 like you're saying to react, right? 00:36:42.16\00:36:43.50 You know, something happens. 00:36:43.53\00:36:44.87 And you see a lot of rage. 00:36:44.90\00:36:46.23 It seems like this day 00:36:46.27\00:36:47.60 and age over just about anything, 00:36:47.64\00:36:48.97 and gesturing and name calling and all kinds of things. 00:36:49.00\00:36:51.77 And with social media, 00:36:51.81\00:36:53.14 it seems like things just explode. 00:36:53.17\00:36:54.74 Get spread around so quickly. 00:36:54.78\00:36:56.48 So thank you so much for that, Jason. 00:36:56.51\00:36:58.28 Very good. 00:36:58.31\00:36:59.71 This comes from South Africa, 00:36:59.75\00:37:01.55 sweetie, this person's name is Hazel. 00:37:01.58\00:37:04.25 "Is it possible to get salvation 00:37:04.29\00:37:06.59 without keeping God's commandments?" 00:37:06.62\00:37:09.36 Thank you so much, Hazel, for writing in, 00:37:09.39\00:37:10.99 and for your question. 00:37:11.03\00:37:12.36 Salvation does not exist without the blood of Jesus, 00:37:12.43\00:37:15.96 without the grace of Christ, 00:37:16.00\00:37:17.60 but neither does it exist 00:37:17.63\00:37:20.37 without the obedience of Christ, 00:37:20.40\00:37:23.27 lived out by faith in the life of the believer through 00:37:23.30\00:37:27.88 the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:37:27.91\00:37:30.28 I want to give you three points. 00:37:30.31\00:37:31.65 Number one, salvation clearly is by grace through faith. 00:37:31.68\00:37:34.85 We know that, Paul talks about it in Ephesians 2:8-9, 00:37:34.88\00:37:38.69 "For by grace, 00:37:38.72\00:37:40.06 you've been saved through faith, 00:37:40.09\00:37:41.42 and that not of yourselves, 00:37:41.46\00:37:42.82 it is the gift of God not of works, 00:37:42.86\00:37:44.76 lest anyone should boast. 00:37:44.79\00:37:47.13 For we are His workmanship, 00:37:47.20\00:37:49.63 created in Christ Jesus for good works, 00:37:49.66\00:37:52.50 which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." 00:37:52.53\00:37:55.97 So first, clearly, salvation is by grace through faith. 00:37:56.00\00:37:58.94 Number two, 00:37:58.97\00:38:00.38 salvation by grace is not an excuse 00:38:00.41\00:38:04.05 to toss out the law. 00:38:04.08\00:38:06.25 Paul talks about this very clearly 00:38:06.31\00:38:08.22 in the Book of Romans. 00:38:08.25\00:38:09.78 And we think the Book of Romans 00:38:09.82\00:38:11.15 is these treaties of righteousness by faith 00:38:11.19\00:38:13.76 and salvation by grace, and it is, but he's very clear 00:38:13.79\00:38:17.13 that we do not toss out the law. 00:38:17.16\00:38:18.76 Romans 6:1, "What shall we say then? 00:38:18.79\00:38:21.36 Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?" 00:38:21.40\00:38:24.17 God forbid, certainly not. 00:38:24.20\00:38:26.50 How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 00:38:26.53\00:38:29.90 And Romans 6, 00:38:29.97\00:38:31.31 same chapter a couple verses down, 15 and 16. 00:38:31.34\00:38:34.14 "What then? 00:38:34.18\00:38:35.51 Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? 00:38:35.54\00:38:38.48 Certainly not!" 00:38:38.51\00:38:40.65 Point number three. 00:38:40.68\00:38:42.02 Obedience is an outgrowth of grace. 00:38:42.05\00:38:45.29 If you are saved, 00:38:45.32\00:38:46.89 if you have accepted Jesus into your heart 00:38:46.92\00:38:50.03 and His blood has cleansed you, 00:38:50.06\00:38:51.93 you will begin to walk in obedience, 00:38:51.96\00:38:54.76 not through your power, 00:38:54.83\00:38:56.53 not through anything you can do of yourself, 00:38:56.60\00:38:58.83 but because Jesus takes up residence in your heart through 00:38:58.87\00:39:02.80 the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:39:02.84\00:39:04.24 Ephesians 2:10, says, 00:39:04.27\00:39:06.64 "We are His workmanship created 00:39:06.68\00:39:08.81 in Christ Jesus for good works." 00:39:08.84\00:39:10.78 That passage tells me that grace is a gift. 00:39:10.81\00:39:13.28 Faith is a gift, but works also are a gift from God. 00:39:13.31\00:39:17.82 Wow! Praise the Lord. 00:39:17.85\00:39:19.22 Thank you, very good. 00:39:19.25\00:39:21.26 Pastor John, Margaret is asking, 00:39:21.29\00:39:22.99 "Can you please explain Revelation 18:23?" 00:39:23.02\00:39:28.56 Sure. 00:39:28.60\00:39:29.93 Revelation 18 is a chapter that deals with the solid 00:39:30.00\00:39:33.97 focus on the system of Babylon. 00:39:34.00\00:39:37.17 And Revelation 14 brings into view, 00:39:37.21\00:39:39.61 Babylon is fallen, is fallen, 00:39:39.64\00:39:41.71 because she made all nations drink 00:39:41.74\00:39:43.38 of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 00:39:43.41\00:39:45.05 That's a second angel's message. 00:39:45.08\00:39:46.75 And then Revelation 17 00:39:46.78\00:39:48.62 begins to unpack Babylon in its specifics. 00:39:48.65\00:39:51.35 It talks about the system. 00:39:51.39\00:39:52.89 The woman that sits on the scarlet colored beast 00:39:52.92\00:39:55.49 which has seven heads and ten horns. 00:39:55.52\00:39:57.43 She's the mother, the harlot of the earth. 00:39:57.46\00:39:59.33 She's called Mystery Babylon the Great. 00:39:59.36\00:40:01.90 And the Bible says, the kings of the earth 00:40:01.93\00:40:03.26 have committed fornication with her. 00:40:03.30\00:40:04.77 That means the leaders of the world 00:40:04.80\00:40:06.63 have coalesced with her in a coalition 00:40:06.67\00:40:09.24 of rebellion against God. 00:40:09.30\00:40:11.24 And all the false systems of the earth 00:40:11.27\00:40:13.07 have coalesced together with her. 00:40:13.11\00:40:14.91 And the Bible says, Jeremiah, 00:40:14.94\00:40:16.85 the nations are deranged because they drink her wine. 00:40:16.88\00:40:20.35 So the nations are also pulled in 00:40:20.38\00:40:22.88 by what this system is offering. 00:40:22.92\00:40:24.82 So what does the Bible mean when it says, 00:40:24.85\00:40:26.65 the lamp shall not shine anymore in her? 00:40:26.69\00:40:29.12 Well, the lamp is God's Word, and the light is Jesus. 00:40:29.16\00:40:32.79 Now this kind of fits with the last question I answered. 00:40:32.83\00:40:35.46 The Bible says Psalm 119:25, 00:40:35.50\00:40:37.57 "Your word is a lamp to our feet 00:40:37.60\00:40:39.00 and the light to my path." 00:40:39.03\00:40:40.84 Now, let's go to Revelation 18:23, 00:40:40.87\00:40:43.61 "The lamp, the light of a lamp shall not shine 00:40:43.64\00:40:48.01 in you anymore." 00:40:48.04\00:40:49.81 That means God's Word 00:40:49.84\00:40:51.18 and the call to come out of Babylon 00:40:51.21\00:40:53.21 will no longer be available to you. 00:40:53.28\00:40:56.85 Because Revelation 18:4 says, "Come out of her, my people, 00:40:56.89\00:40:59.72 come out of Babylon." 00:40:59.75\00:41:01.16 How does God call them out? 00:41:01.19\00:41:02.56 Through His Word. Yes. 00:41:02.59\00:41:03.99 But then it also says, 00:41:04.03\00:41:05.36 and the voice of the bridegroom 00:41:05.39\00:41:06.80 and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. 00:41:06.83\00:41:09.63 The bridegroom is Christ. 00:41:09.66\00:41:11.37 The bride is His church. 00:41:11.40\00:41:12.90 God is saying, "My people will no longer be there. 00:41:12.93\00:41:15.87 My presence will no longer be there." 00:41:15.90\00:41:18.27 We believe today that the presence of Christ 00:41:18.31\00:41:20.04 is in all denominations where people love the Lord. 00:41:20.08\00:41:22.94 But he's saying, if you're in Babylon, 00:41:23.01\00:41:24.88 I love you, but I don't love that system, 00:41:24.91\00:41:26.48 you need to come out. 00:41:26.51\00:41:27.85 And then finally, he says, 00:41:27.88\00:41:29.25 for the merchants 00:41:29.28\00:41:30.62 were the great men of the earth, 00:41:30.65\00:41:31.99 for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 00:41:32.02\00:41:34.12 So when it says, the lamp shall not shine, 00:41:34.16\00:41:37.26 the voice of the bridegroom and bride should not be heard. 00:41:37.29\00:41:39.96 This is the last move before Babylon crumbles, 00:41:40.00\00:41:43.30 the fall systems of worship, 00:41:43.33\00:41:45.13 the fall systems of economy that coalesced 00:41:45.17\00:41:47.64 against God's government will come down. 00:41:47.67\00:41:50.07 And the voice of God calling people out 00:41:50.11\00:41:52.07 once they reject it, 00:41:52.11\00:41:53.51 that voice is shut off. 00:41:53.54\00:41:54.88 They will not be heard anymore. 00:41:54.91\00:41:56.81 Amen. Thank you so much, Pastor. 00:41:56.85\00:41:58.38 Amen. It's right. 00:41:58.41\00:42:01.05 Jason Bradley, this comes from Cole. 00:42:01.08\00:42:03.18 Great question. 00:42:03.25\00:42:04.59 "I just want to understand, 00:42:04.62\00:42:06.62 I just want to understand idols in our age, 00:42:06.65\00:42:08.82 like maybe Twitter and other things talking 00:42:08.86\00:42:11.06 about social media. 00:42:11.09\00:42:12.43 What can be our idol in our age?" 00:42:12.46\00:42:15.00 Wow. 00:42:15.03\00:42:16.40 Yeah, it's good question, isn't it? 00:42:16.43\00:42:17.77 Yeah, it is. 00:42:17.80\00:42:19.13 Well, Cole, let's look at some examples from Scripture 00:42:19.17\00:42:21.17 and see what we can conclude from there. 00:42:21.20\00:42:23.14 2 Kings 18:4-5, 00:42:23.17\00:42:26.71 "He removed the high places and broke the sacred pillars, 00:42:26.74\00:42:29.98 cut down the wooden image and broke 00:42:30.01\00:42:32.11 in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses 00:42:32.15\00:42:35.48 had made for until those days 00:42:35.52\00:42:37.49 the children of Israel burned incense to it, 00:42:37.52\00:42:40.09 and called it Nehushtan. 00:42:40.12\00:42:43.06 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, 00:42:43.09\00:42:45.66 so that after him was none like him 00:42:45.69\00:42:48.50 among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him." 00:42:48.53\00:42:52.43 Let's go to Colossians 3:5, 00:42:52.47\00:42:55.24 "Therefore, put to death your members 00:42:55.27\00:42:58.01 which are on the earth, fornication, 00:42:58.04\00:43:00.74 uncleanness, passion, evil desire, 00:43:00.78\00:43:03.58 and covetousness, which is idolatry. 00:43:03.61\00:43:07.15 Isaiah 45:20, 00:43:07.18\00:43:09.82 "Assemble yourselves and come, 00:43:09.85\00:43:11.99 draw near together, 00:43:12.02\00:43:13.72 you who have escaped from the nations, 00:43:13.76\00:43:15.99 they have no knowledge 00:43:16.06\00:43:17.39 who carry the wood of their carved image 00:43:17.43\00:43:19.63 and pray to a God that cannot save." 00:43:19.66\00:43:23.40 An idol can be anything we put in the place of God. 00:43:23.47\00:43:27.67 Now, perhaps you've heard people say, 00:43:27.70\00:43:29.70 just put it into the universe, 00:43:29.74\00:43:31.57 and the universe will give you this blessings, 00:43:31.61\00:43:34.01 very new age. 00:43:34.04\00:43:35.38 And it's a form of people worshipping, 00:43:35.41\00:43:38.35 they're created as opposed to the Creator, 00:43:38.38\00:43:41.98 the only one that is worthy of our worship 00:43:42.02\00:43:44.79 and deserves our time, our first efforts, 00:43:44.82\00:43:48.99 our first fruits is God, is Jesus Christ. 00:43:49.02\00:43:52.69 That's right. 00:43:52.73\00:43:54.03 So anything outside of Jesus Christ, 00:43:54.10\00:43:57.07 or anyone outside of Jesus Christ, 00:43:57.10\00:44:01.30 who we place our affection when we give our first fruits 00:44:01.34\00:44:06.01 to is considered an idol. 00:44:06.07\00:44:08.78 Wow. It's good. 00:44:08.81\00:44:10.15 Thank you, Jason. 00:44:10.18\00:44:11.51 Definitely something to considerate, 00:44:11.55\00:44:12.91 because we have so many things 00:44:12.95\00:44:14.28 in our lives we can become attached to. 00:44:14.32\00:44:15.65 Yes, sure. 00:44:15.68\00:44:17.05 Oh, Jill, this comes from Marilyn. 00:44:17.09\00:44:18.59 Her question is, "We have a family 00:44:18.62\00:44:20.56 attending worship with us during Sabbath, 00:44:20.59\00:44:22.92 but they believe that Jesus is a creative being. 00:44:22.96\00:44:27.13 And the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, 00:44:27.20\00:44:30.03 not another individual God. 00:44:30.07\00:44:32.33 So as one of the leaders of our church, 00:44:32.37\00:44:34.57 I wanted to know what can we do to help them? 00:44:34.60\00:44:37.51 Or is it right to tell them not to come to church anymore 00:44:37.54\00:44:40.14 if they don't believe the SDA policies 00:44:40.18\00:44:42.34 and doctrines?" 00:44:42.38\00:44:43.71 Heavy question. 00:44:43.75\00:44:45.08 That is a heavy question, Marilyn. 00:44:45.11\00:44:46.48 I want to talk about two sides of what I call the same coin. 00:44:46.51\00:44:50.32 The first side of the coin is that all 00:44:50.35\00:44:53.15 are welcome to attend church. 00:44:53.22\00:44:55.02 Pastor John always says, 00:44:55.06\00:44:56.59 there' s no standards for fellowship, 00:44:56.62\00:44:58.49 standards for membership, 00:44:58.53\00:45:00.23 but high standards for leadership. 00:45:00.26\00:45:02.66 What does that mean? 00:45:02.70\00:45:04.10 That means when the church doors open, 00:45:04.13\00:45:05.63 anyone is welcome to come and hear the Word of God. 00:45:05.67\00:45:08.84 Anyone is welcome to come and sit at the feet of Jesus. 00:45:08.87\00:45:12.61 Now, let's go to the other side of that coin. 00:45:12.64\00:45:14.98 Church leaders have a responsibility 00:45:15.01\00:45:18.48 for the spiritual well being of the flock 00:45:18.51\00:45:22.25 that God has placed under their care. 00:45:22.28\00:45:25.55 I think of the Apostle Paul. 00:45:25.59\00:45:27.59 This is, of course, when he's going back to Jerusalem, 00:45:27.62\00:45:29.69 and then he's arrested right before the end of his life. 00:45:29.72\00:45:31.86 In Acts Chapter 20, 00:45:31.89\00:45:33.70 he's with the Ephesians believers. 00:45:33.73\00:45:35.70 Acts 20:28, he says, 00:45:35.73\00:45:37.70 "Take heed to yourselves unto the flock, 00:45:37.73\00:45:39.80 among which the Holy Spirit has made you an overseer, 00:45:39.87\00:45:42.84 to shepherd the Church of God, 00:45:42.87\00:45:45.17 which he purchased with his own blood. 00:45:45.21\00:45:47.28 For I know this, that after my departure, 00:45:47.31\00:45:49.58 savage wolves will come in among you, 00:45:49.61\00:45:52.88 not sparing the flock." 00:45:52.95\00:45:55.05 I think of what Peter said in his epistles, 00:45:55.08\00:45:57.12 2 Peter 2:1-2, 00:45:57.15\00:45:58.89 "There were also false prophets among the people, 00:45:58.92\00:46:01.32 even as there will be false teachers among you, 00:46:01.36\00:46:04.93 who secretly bring in destructive heresies." 00:46:04.96\00:46:08.53 I think of Jeremiah to the children of Judah, 00:46:08.56\00:46:10.77 this is Old Testament. 00:46:10.80\00:46:12.13 Jeremiah 31:16, 00:46:12.17\00:46:13.94 "Thus says the Lord of hosts 'Do not listen to the words 00:46:13.97\00:46:16.74 of the prophets who prophesied to you. 00:46:16.77\00:46:18.91 They make you worthless, 00:46:18.94\00:46:20.54 they speak a vision of their own heart. 00:46:20.58\00:46:22.54 They are not from the mouth of the Lord." 00:46:22.58\00:46:25.51 I think of Jude 1:3-4, 00:46:25.55\00:46:28.68 "Beloved, I was very diligent to write 00:46:28.72\00:46:30.62 to you concerning our salvation. 00:46:30.65\00:46:31.99 I found it necessary to write to you 00:46:32.02\00:46:33.79 exhorting you to contend earnestly 00:46:33.82\00:46:36.46 for the faith which was once delivered to the saints." 00:46:36.49\00:46:40.13 So I cannot jump into your situation 00:46:40.16\00:46:43.00 and tell you what to do. 00:46:43.06\00:46:44.40 But all are welcome, yes. 00:46:44.43\00:46:45.90 But as a leader in the church, 00:46:45.93\00:46:48.10 you have a responsibility for the spiritual well being, 00:46:48.14\00:46:52.01 and the doctrines that are being promulgated 00:46:52.04\00:46:54.71 in your church. 00:46:54.74\00:46:56.38 That's right. Thank you. 00:46:56.44\00:46:57.78 Very, very good. 00:46:57.81\00:46:59.15 Great, great advice. That's right. 00:46:59.18\00:47:00.58 You have to be responsible. We do. 00:47:00.62\00:47:02.12 Absolutely, Pastor, you're right. 00:47:02.15\00:47:04.12 Pastor John, 00:47:04.15\00:47:05.49 Ron and Debbie are asking about Revelation 18:8, 00:47:05.52\00:47:10.39 "Is the Bible telling us that the plagues 00:47:10.46\00:47:12.33 will come all in only one day?" 00:47:12.36\00:47:15.93 Well, you know, 00:47:15.96\00:47:17.30 it's amazing how my last three questions 00:47:17.33\00:47:18.70 kind of work together. 00:47:18.73\00:47:20.07 It's really amazing. 00:47:20.14\00:47:21.47 Thank you for allowing that to happen. 00:47:21.50\00:47:22.84 Because this reflects on the last question 00:47:22.87\00:47:25.81 I answered about Babylon. 00:47:25.84\00:47:27.18 Yes. 00:47:27.21\00:47:28.54 Well, Revelation 18:8, 00:47:28.58\00:47:29.94 once again, it's about Babylon. 00:47:29.98\00:47:32.08 It begins with the phrase, therefore her plagues. 00:47:32.11\00:47:36.15 When we talk about the seven last plagues 00:47:36.18\00:47:37.99 that Revelation 15 talks about. 00:47:38.02\00:47:41.29 This is not the special treaty for this particular passage. 00:47:41.32\00:47:46.33 This is focusing on this particular system, 00:47:46.39\00:47:49.20 the system of Babylon. 00:47:49.23\00:47:51.23 And when you think about it, 00:47:51.27\00:47:52.67 Revelation 18 is just an amazing passage. 00:47:52.70\00:47:56.57 I think that people should read Revelation 18, 00:47:56.60\00:48:00.54 to find out where these false systems of worship are headed, 00:48:00.58\00:48:05.91 where all these systems that have built 00:48:05.95\00:48:08.38 their ideologies and their praise 00:48:08.42\00:48:11.55 and worship on fluff and not on truth, 00:48:11.59\00:48:15.26 where the systems have determined, 00:48:15.29\00:48:17.46 I'm more for God accept me the way I am. 00:48:17.49\00:48:21.50 But I'm not going to keep Your commandments. 00:48:21.53\00:48:23.26 And forget about the Sabbath, 00:48:23.33\00:48:24.67 I'm just not going to honor that 00:48:24.70\00:48:26.03 because it's just inconvenient to me, 00:48:26.07\00:48:28.34 or I don't believe in it. 00:48:28.37\00:48:29.77 Or they feel that it's just for the Jews. 00:48:29.80\00:48:31.81 The Lord didn't create the world just for the Jews, 00:48:31.84\00:48:34.38 He created the world for everyone. 00:48:34.41\00:48:36.04 And at the end of creation week, 00:48:36.08\00:48:37.48 He blessed the seventh day. 00:48:37.51\00:48:39.48 Yet so many religious teachers and pastors 00:48:39.51\00:48:42.52 have convinced their membership that what God said to remember, 00:48:42.55\00:48:45.49 we should forget. 00:48:45.52\00:48:46.96 That to me is the highest point of rebellion against God, 00:48:47.02\00:48:51.03 a minister claiming to be connected to God, yet, in fact, 00:48:51.06\00:48:55.26 they are encouraging their membership 00:48:55.30\00:48:56.93 to ignore the very thing that God said, remember. 00:48:57.00\00:48:59.77 Sit, let that soak in, because the Bible says, 00:48:59.80\00:49:02.37 because of that recalcitrant determination, 00:49:02.40\00:49:05.61 to stand in opposition to me, the Lord said, 00:49:05.64\00:49:08.78 I have some plagues just for you. 00:49:08.81\00:49:11.21 And that's what Revelation 18:8 is. 00:49:11.25\00:49:13.68 Therefore her plagues will come in one day, 00:49:13.72\00:49:16.45 death, and mourning, and famine, 00:49:16.48\00:49:19.39 and she will be utterly burned with fire, 00:49:19.42\00:49:22.16 for strong is the Lord who judges her. 00:49:22.19\00:49:24.66 Why the word her? 00:49:24.69\00:49:26.03 Because her is used in relationship to a church. 00:49:26.06\00:49:29.06 This false system has glorified itself 00:49:29.10\00:49:32.87 in the context of worship against God. 00:49:32.90\00:49:34.74 And he says, I got some plagues just for you 00:49:34.77\00:49:37.14 because you've stolen my people. 00:49:37.17\00:49:38.57 You've deceived them. 00:49:38.61\00:49:39.94 You're coming down. 00:49:40.01\00:49:41.34 It's not about all the plagues, just about that one on Babylon. 00:49:41.38\00:49:44.98 It's good. 00:49:45.01\00:49:46.35 Thank you, Pastor John. 00:49:46.38\00:49:47.72 Praise the Lord. 00:49:47.75\00:49:49.08 We're running out of time here. 00:49:49.12\00:49:50.45 It always goes by in such a hurry. 00:49:50.52\00:49:52.39 Should we just put a couple of questions maybe out 00:49:52.42\00:49:53.99 in the last couple of minutes out here and just okay. 00:49:54.02\00:49:56.26 I like this question, like them all. 00:49:56.29\00:49:57.73 But this is an intriguing one. 00:49:57.76\00:49:59.96 Genesis 2:19, 00:50:00.03\00:50:01.33 please explain comes from Nancy. 00:50:01.36\00:50:03.87 "Did God form animals like He did man 00:50:03.90\00:50:07.27 from the dust of the earth?" 00:50:07.30\00:50:08.77 You know, I never even thought about that. 00:50:08.80\00:50:10.21 So any thoughts about that question? 00:50:10.24\00:50:12.74 Answers? Well, sure. 00:50:12.77\00:50:14.18 Go ahead. Okay. 00:50:14.21\00:50:15.54 I'll just say, and then just reading it, 00:50:15.58\00:50:17.61 it says out of the ground, 00:50:17.65\00:50:19.01 the Lord God formed every beast of the field 00:50:19.05\00:50:21.72 and every bird of the air 00:50:21.75\00:50:23.18 and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. 00:50:23.22\00:50:26.65 And whatever Adam called each living creature 00:50:26.69\00:50:29.06 that was its name. 00:50:29.09\00:50:31.19 So it says that he formed them out of the ground. 00:50:31.23\00:50:34.96 So I mean, in that case, but He didn't breathe, 00:50:35.00\00:50:38.67 it didn't say anything about, you know, 00:50:38.70\00:50:40.40 the breathing into nostrils. 00:50:40.44\00:50:42.37 So... 00:50:42.40\00:50:44.01 And to even build on that Genesis 1:24-25. 00:50:44.04\00:50:48.74 Well, first of all, Psalm 33:9, 00:50:48.78\00:50:50.58 the Bible says, He spake and it was done, 00:50:50.61\00:50:52.18 He commanded and it stood fast. 00:50:52.21\00:50:54.18 Well, He spake. 00:50:54.22\00:50:55.55 What did He speak and say? 00:50:55.58\00:50:56.95 Genesis 1:24. 00:50:56.99\00:50:58.32 "Then God said, 00:50:58.35\00:50:59.69 'Let the earth bring forth 00:50:59.72\00:51:01.89 the living creatures according to its kind cattle 00:51:01.92\00:51:04.33 and creeping thing and beast of the earth, 00:51:04.36\00:51:06.16 each according to its kind,' and it was so. 00:51:06.19\00:51:08.63 And God made the beast of the earth 00:51:08.66\00:51:10.03 according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, 00:51:10.07\00:51:12.37 and everything that creeps on the earth 00:51:12.40\00:51:13.74 according to its kind. 00:51:13.80\00:51:15.14 And God saw that it was good." 00:51:15.17\00:51:16.50 So He spoke, and it happened. 00:51:16.54\00:51:18.01 He didn't take the... 00:51:18.04\00:51:19.84 As Jason pointed out, 00:51:19.87\00:51:21.21 He didn't take the time to shape them 00:51:21.24\00:51:23.81 like He shaped us. 00:51:23.85\00:51:25.28 We're made in His image, animals are not. 00:51:25.31\00:51:27.32 Yeah, good point. 00:51:27.35\00:51:28.78 Any other comments you have on that? 00:51:28.82\00:51:30.15 No, that's good. 00:51:30.19\00:51:31.52 Yeah.
