Let's pray. 00:02:30.18\00:02:31.71 Dear Father in heaven, Lord, 00:02:31.75\00:02:33.08 we are so privileged and honored as always 00:02:33.11\00:02:34.78 to be here to be alive during these times 00:02:34.82\00:02:36.79 and to be a part of this incredible panel. 00:02:36.82\00:02:38.92 As your people are sending in questions, 00:02:38.95\00:02:41.09 Lord, it's such an honor and a privilege 00:02:41.12\00:02:43.53 to be able to have Your Word 00:02:43.56\00:02:45.69 and to be able to not have to depend on our own thoughts 00:02:45.73\00:02:48.70 and our own ideas, our own failed wisdom. 00:02:48.73\00:02:51.57 But, Lord, Your Word has all the answers. 00:02:51.60\00:02:54.44 And so, today, Lord, if You would empower us 00:02:54.47\00:02:55.90 with Your Spirit, 00:02:55.94\00:02:57.27 that we could simply just be able to rightly divide 00:02:57.31\00:02:59.77 the word of truth today. 00:02:59.81\00:03:01.28 That's what we're asking. 00:03:01.31\00:03:02.64 So as this program goes out, 00:03:02.68\00:03:04.05 may it bless so many people and may it draw all of us, 00:03:04.08\00:03:07.72 viewers and panel members 00:03:07.75\00:03:10.32 to Jesus Christ, our Savior. 00:03:10.39\00:03:12.25 We praise You and thank You. 00:03:12.29\00:03:13.89 And we ask this in Jesus' name, amen. 00:03:13.96\00:03:15.96 Amen. Amen. 00:03:15.99\00:03:17.33 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:03:17.36\00:03:18.69 Well, we want to let you know 00:03:18.73\00:03:20.63 how you can participate in this program. 00:03:20.70\00:03:22.66 These questions were asked by people like you 00:03:22.70\00:03:25.93 that are watching and listening to this program. 00:03:25.97\00:03:28.07 And so we want to let you know how you can do that, 00:03:28.10\00:03:30.07 we're going to share a phone number 00:03:30.11\00:03:32.37 where you can text in your questions 00:03:32.41\00:03:34.24 and you may have a phone right in your hand right now. 00:03:34.28\00:03:36.61 Who knows, you may already have a question in mind 00:03:36.64\00:03:38.41 that you'd like to send. 00:03:38.45\00:03:39.78 So we'd like to share that number with you. 00:03:39.81\00:03:41.25 It's (618) 228-3975. 00:03:41.28\00:03:45.19 (618) 228-3975.). 00:03:45.22\00:03:47.96 (618) 228-3975. 00:03:47.99\00:03:50.99 Email if you prefer that. 00:03:51.03\00:03:52.86 It's BibleQA@3abn.org 00:03:52.89\00:03:57.87 BibleQA@3abn.org 00:03:57.90\00:04:01.87 You can send in your questions 00:04:01.90\00:04:03.24 so that we can present it to our panel. 00:04:03.27\00:04:05.81 And we are going to start with ladies first, 00:04:05.84\00:04:08.28 ladies first. 00:04:08.31\00:04:09.64 Ladies first, yeah. 00:04:09.68\00:04:11.51 I was going to say in Spanish caballeros, 00:04:11.55\00:04:13.62 last, gentlemen last this time. 00:04:13.68\00:04:16.38 Okay, Sister Shelley Quinn, 00:04:16.42\00:04:17.92 this question actually came specifically directed to you. 00:04:17.95\00:04:22.29 And this person says, 00:04:22.32\00:04:23.69 "Sister Shelley, 00:04:23.73\00:04:25.06 what can be said about Zechariah 5:1-11? 00:04:25.09\00:04:29.83 Well, let's just set this up first by saying in Zechariah, 00:04:29.86\00:04:32.43 there are eight visions in the first six chapters, 00:04:32.47\00:04:36.04 the prophetic visions of encouragement 00:04:36.07\00:04:38.67 of what God is going to do for His people 00:04:38.71\00:04:42.08 after their return from Babylon all the way down to Jesus. 00:04:42.11\00:04:46.68 In Zechariah 3, 00:04:46.72\00:04:48.05 of course, is the most important 00:04:48.08\00:04:50.92 and well-known 00:04:50.95\00:04:52.29 when this is where 00:04:52.32\00:04:53.66 God is changing the filthy clothes from Joshua 00:04:53.69\00:04:58.13 and putting on the rich robes. 00:04:58.16\00:05:00.96 And He's showing here that He has a provision for people 00:05:01.00\00:05:06.03 who will be repentant, 00:05:06.07\00:05:07.57 that they will be clothed with the robe of righteousness. 00:05:07.60\00:05:10.94 Then in Zechariah Chapter 4, 00:05:10.97\00:05:13.61 He shows that He's going to empower people by a Spirit, 00:05:13.64\00:05:17.18 not by might but by My Spirit He says. 00:05:17.21\00:05:21.15 Now the fixed vision in Zechariah Chapter 5 00:05:21.18\00:05:26.65 is about the purging of sinners from the land. 00:05:26.69\00:05:31.63 And this is what's interesting. 00:05:31.66\00:05:34.10 This is what's going to happen to people 00:05:34.13\00:05:36.03 who won't repent, 00:05:36.06\00:05:37.40 who refuse the robe of righteousness, 00:05:37.47\00:05:40.07 who refuse to be led by the Holy Spirit. 00:05:40.10\00:05:42.74 Zechariah sees this flying scroll, 00:05:42.77\00:05:44.94 it's 30x15, 00:05:44.97\00:05:46.64 same dimensions as the Most Holy Place. 00:05:46.68\00:05:51.38 So what happens? 00:05:51.41\00:05:53.08 This is depicting the Word of God 00:05:53.11\00:05:55.45 because it's unfurled, this scroll is unfurled, 00:05:55.48\00:05:59.25 there's writing on both sides, 00:05:59.29\00:06:01.49 and it specifically mentions two of the Ten Commandments, 00:06:01.52\00:06:05.79 I believe they were all on there, 00:06:05.83\00:06:07.23 but stealing and false testimony. 00:06:07.30\00:06:10.77 Now, the Bible does not tell us what that scroll is, 00:06:10.80\00:06:14.34 I believe personally, that it could be 00:06:14.37\00:06:18.24 because it has the curse in it, 00:06:18.27\00:06:20.68 this could be the scroll of the book of the law, 00:06:20.71\00:06:24.38 the book of the covenant 00:06:24.45\00:06:25.78 that was on the side of the ark. 00:06:25.81\00:06:27.92 And so that was a scroll that had a curse in it, 00:06:27.95\00:06:30.99 stood there as a witness against them. 00:06:31.02\00:06:33.32 But an unavoidable curse is pronounced, 00:06:33.36\00:06:36.39 saying it will even follow the people 00:06:36.42\00:06:38.33 into their home. 00:06:38.36\00:06:39.69 And what God is just warning 00:06:39.73\00:06:41.10 that His judgment is going to be according to His Word. 00:06:41.16\00:06:45.40 He's got to root out and destroy the sinners. 00:06:45.43\00:06:48.04 Now in Zachariah 5:7-11, 00:06:48.07\00:06:51.37 we have the seventh vision of Him 00:06:51.41\00:06:54.71 removing iniquity from the land. 00:06:54.74\00:06:57.81 And there's a woman in a basket, 00:06:57.85\00:06:59.68 I think this is so fascinating. 00:06:59.71\00:07:02.52 And she personifies an evil system. 00:07:02.55\00:07:06.42 It could be that this is secular, commercialism 00:07:06.45\00:07:11.16 like we see in Revelation 18, 00:07:11.23\00:07:13.43 but she's covered 00:07:13.46\00:07:15.43 with a lid of lead, a heavy lid, 00:07:15.46\00:07:18.93 keep sin in there. 00:07:18.97\00:07:20.90 And then she's carried off by two women 00:07:20.94\00:07:23.81 with wings like storks, 00:07:23.87\00:07:25.54 which are unclean animals, 00:07:25.57\00:07:27.08 which were obviously agents of evil, 00:07:27.14\00:07:31.11 but she's taken to Shinar 00:07:31.15\00:07:33.21 which is an old name for Babylon. 00:07:33.25\00:07:36.42 So God calls His people out of Babylon, 00:07:36.45\00:07:39.02 but those who refuse to repent, He sends back. 00:07:39.05\00:07:42.79 Well, thank you very much. 00:07:42.82\00:07:44.19 I know there's a lot to share in short time. 00:07:44.23\00:07:46.53 And we now go to Pastor Ryan Day. 00:07:46.56\00:07:49.80 Question for you is, 00:07:49.83\00:07:51.20 "How do I defend God's dietary laws to others 00:07:51.23\00:07:56.10 in light of Deuteronomy 12:15, 00:07:56.14\00:08:00.51 which seems to allow the eating of all flesh 00:08:00.58\00:08:03.95 as long as the blood isn't eaten." 00:08:04.01\00:08:06.35 This is from Julie, from Wisconsin. 00:08:06.38\00:08:08.62 Okay. Now, this is a great, great question. 00:08:08.65\00:08:10.95 In fact, if you read 00:08:10.99\00:08:12.32 Deuteronomy 12:15 a little closer, 00:08:12.35\00:08:15.06 then you'll find some context clues in there very clearly, 00:08:15.09\00:08:17.79 in which is very much in harmony 00:08:17.83\00:08:19.86 with the rest of what God has to say, 00:08:19.89\00:08:21.90 and His attitude towards the, you know, the differentiation 00:08:21.93\00:08:24.00 between the clean and the unclean. 00:08:24.03\00:08:25.47 So let's read that passage there. 00:08:25.50\00:08:26.84 This is Deuteronomy 12:15. 00:08:26.87\00:08:30.94 And actually, I did not put that in my notes. 00:08:30.97\00:08:34.01 So let's go to Deuteronomy 12:15, real quickly, 00:08:34.04\00:08:37.05 and I thought I had copied and pasted into my notes there, 00:08:37.08\00:08:39.91 but that's okay. 00:08:39.95\00:08:41.28 So Deuteronomy 12:15, again, 00:08:41.35\00:08:42.88 God is outlining 00:08:42.92\00:08:44.25 what is okay for the children of Israel, 00:08:44.32\00:08:45.65 and what is not okay 00:08:45.69\00:08:47.02 in reference to what they can eat. 00:08:47.06\00:08:48.76 And so Deuteronomy 12:15, says, 00:08:48.79\00:08:51.06 "However, you may slaughter and eat meat 00:08:51.09\00:08:53.13 within all your gates, whatever your heart desires, 00:08:53.16\00:08:55.73 according to the blessing of the Lord your God 00:08:55.76\00:08:58.00 which He has given you, 00:08:58.07\00:08:59.40 the unclean and the clean may eat of it, 00:08:59.43\00:09:02.84 of the gazelle and the deer alike." 00:09:02.87\00:09:04.54 So there's a couple of things 00:09:04.57\00:09:05.91 you have to understand here in this 00:09:05.94\00:09:07.31 within this particular text. 00:09:07.34\00:09:08.68 First of all, notice what it says, it says, 00:09:08.71\00:09:10.05 whatever your heart desires, 00:09:10.08\00:09:11.71 according to the blessing of the Lord your God, 00:09:11.75\00:09:14.45 which He has given you. 00:09:14.48\00:09:16.12 Now what, notice this is Deuteronomy, 00:09:16.15\00:09:18.02 so the Deuteronomy would have been written 00:09:18.05\00:09:19.65 and given after probably the Book of Leviticus, 00:09:19.69\00:09:22.62 and even so the Lord's not going to say over here 00:09:22.66\00:09:25.19 in Deuteronomy11, and also excuse me, 00:09:25.23\00:09:27.56 in Leviticus Chapter 11, and also, 00:09:27.60\00:09:29.60 two chapters later in Deuteronomy Chapter 14, 00:09:29.63\00:09:32.60 what can be eaten and what cannot be eaten. 00:09:32.63\00:09:34.97 And then in this chapter, say, 00:09:35.00\00:09:36.34 oh, you know, just eat whatever you want, right? 00:09:36.37\00:09:37.81 We know God is not the author of confusion. 00:09:37.84\00:09:39.71 So whatever your heart desires, 00:09:39.74\00:09:41.38 according to the blessing of the Lord, 00:09:41.41\00:09:43.31 God only made a distinction between that 00:09:43.35\00:09:45.45 which is clean and unclean. 00:09:45.48\00:09:46.82 If you read Leviticus Chapter 11, 00:09:46.85\00:09:48.25 and as I mentioned earlier, Deuteronomy Chapter 14, 00:09:48.28\00:09:51.09 God makes a very clear distinction 00:09:51.12\00:09:53.25 between those animals 00:09:53.29\00:09:54.66 that are labeled or considered clean 00:09:54.69\00:09:56.86 and those animals that are not, 00:09:56.89\00:09:58.63 so where a lot of people get confused 00:09:58.66\00:10:00.20 is they misinterpret or misapply, 00:10:00.23\00:10:02.46 where it says here in verse 15. 00:10:02.50\00:10:04.53 It says, 00:10:04.57\00:10:05.90 "The unclean and the clean may eat of it, 00:10:05.93\00:10:07.94 of the gazelle and the deer alike." 00:10:08.00\00:10:09.34 So a lot of people read those words and think, 00:10:09.37\00:10:10.71 "Oh, He's telling me that 00:10:10.74\00:10:12.07 I can eat anything unclean or clean." 00:10:12.11\00:10:14.64 Well, if you look at this particular translation 00:10:14.68\00:10:17.15 and compare it to even other Bible translations, 00:10:17.18\00:10:19.85 the unclean and clean alike may eat of it. 00:10:19.88\00:10:23.82 Not that you may eat of it, 00:10:23.85\00:10:25.52 but the unclean and clean alike may eat of it. 00:10:25.55\00:10:28.52 That's what the scripture actually says. 00:10:28.56\00:10:29.89 It's referring 00:10:29.92\00:10:31.29 to the ceremonially unclean people 00:10:31.33\00:10:34.30 and the ceremonially clean people. 00:10:34.36\00:10:36.77 There was a differentiation between that as well. 00:10:36.80\00:10:38.67 In fact, you will read this 00:10:38.70\00:10:40.04 in the New International Version, 00:10:40.07\00:10:41.40 the International Standard Version, 00:10:41.47\00:10:43.17 the New English Translation, New Living Translation, 00:10:43.20\00:10:45.57 Common English Bible and other translations 00:10:45.61\00:10:47.61 that make this very, very clear 00:10:47.64\00:10:49.18 that that unclean and clean alike 00:10:49.21\00:10:50.98 is speaking of the people, not the food. 00:10:51.01\00:10:53.42 In fact, right there in that verse, in verse 15, 00:10:53.45\00:10:56.28 it ends with of the gazelle and the deer alike. 00:10:56.32\00:10:59.02 Both gazelle and deer are ceremonially clean meats. 00:10:59.05\00:11:03.09 In this case, they have the split hoof, 00:11:03.12\00:11:04.99 and they chew the cud. 00:11:05.03\00:11:06.36 So if you read this verse, 00:11:06.39\00:11:07.73 this verse does not give anyone permission 00:11:07.76\00:11:09.53 to go outside of the dietary laws 00:11:09.56\00:11:11.20 that God gave. 00:11:11.23\00:11:12.57 It is within those dietary laws. 00:11:12.60\00:11:13.97 And God says, 00:11:14.00\00:11:15.34 "You can eat whatever your heart desires, 00:11:15.37\00:11:16.71 according to the blessing of the Lord." 00:11:16.74\00:11:19.07 And God only blessed the clean meats. 00:11:19.11\00:11:22.24 Thank you very much. 00:11:22.28\00:11:23.71 Well, Pastor Lomacang, 00:11:23.75\00:11:25.08 we now come to you 00:11:25.11\00:11:26.45 and this question, this question is, 00:11:26.48\00:11:30.19 "Why are there so many denominations in the world? 00:11:30.22\00:11:35.19 What in the world is going on?" 00:11:35.22\00:11:36.73 This is Morris from Virginia. 00:11:36.76\00:11:39.23 Well, the simple reality 00:11:39.26\00:11:40.83 can be best contributed to the Protestant Reformation. 00:11:40.86\00:11:43.47 You find, prior to the Protestant Reformation, 00:11:43.50\00:11:46.37 you find that the Old Testament, 00:11:46.40\00:11:48.07 the Lord chose the nation of Israel 00:11:48.14\00:11:50.24 to proliferate the gospel to the world. 00:11:50.27\00:11:52.87 And then you had the Jews and the Gentiles. 00:11:52.91\00:11:56.31 This is primarily designating two groups, 00:11:56.34\00:11:58.68 meaning those who followed Christ 00:11:58.71\00:12:00.15 and those who didn't. 00:12:00.18\00:12:01.52 In the Old Testament, those who followed God 00:12:01.58\00:12:02.98 and those who the adverse nations 00:12:03.02\00:12:04.72 to the worship of God. 00:12:04.75\00:12:06.15 But as the church began to progress, 00:12:06.19\00:12:08.76 past the death of all the disciples, 00:12:08.79\00:12:11.89 then you have the persecution of the Jews and the Christians 00:12:11.93\00:12:16.53 under the Roman Emperor Diocletian 00:12:16.56\00:12:17.90 from 303-313 AD. 00:12:17.97\00:12:20.54 Then the church continued to progress 00:12:20.57\00:12:22.27 and begin to metamorphosize 00:12:22.30\00:12:24.21 and surely later part of the 300s, 00:12:24.24\00:12:27.51 the church received the reprieve. 00:12:27.58\00:12:30.55 As Roman Emperor Constantine gave the church a reprieve, 00:12:30.58\00:12:33.98 and then the Bible began to be openly discussed, 00:12:34.02\00:12:36.99 but the church continued under the rule of Rome 00:12:37.02\00:12:39.12 until the Dark Ages in 538 AD 1798 AD, 00:12:39.15\00:12:42.99 and the church went 00:12:43.02\00:12:44.36 into a very strong time of persecution. 00:12:44.43\00:12:46.96 But during that time, God preserved His message 00:12:47.00\00:12:48.96 and reformers like Martin Luther, 00:12:49.00\00:12:50.93 Calvin Hus, Zwingli, Jerome Wycliffe, 00:12:50.97\00:12:53.27 and many others rose up in protest 00:12:53.30\00:12:56.40 against the Roman Catholic Church. 00:12:56.44\00:12:57.91 They broke off and never intended 00:12:57.97\00:13:00.41 to start their own movements, 00:13:00.44\00:13:01.94 but the Lutherans came out of Martin Luther. 00:13:01.98\00:13:04.25 The different doctrines that resurfaced 00:13:04.28\00:13:07.52 where the precursor to movement starting 00:13:07.55\00:13:09.95 in favor or in honor of these men 00:13:09.98\00:13:12.32 who started to break away from the Roman Catholic Church. 00:13:12.35\00:13:15.26 In recognition, Jesus is a forward looking prognostic 00:13:15.29\00:13:19.53 position on the duplicity of Christianity 00:13:19.56\00:13:22.00 is pointed out in John 10:16. 00:13:22.03\00:13:24.53 Jesus says, 00:13:24.57\00:13:25.90 "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold, 00:13:25.93\00:13:27.30 them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice, 00:13:27.34\00:13:29.84 and they will be one fold and one shepherd." 00:13:29.87\00:13:31.67 So before Jesus comes back, 00:13:31.71\00:13:33.38 there is going to be a gathering together. 00:13:33.41\00:13:35.34 Revelation 12:17 tells you 00:13:35.38\00:13:37.38 the movement that Satan is angry with. 00:13:37.41\00:13:39.48 The Lord is going to say in Revelation 18, 00:13:39.51\00:13:41.18 "Come out of her, My people." 00:13:41.22\00:13:42.75 So we are living in the day and age 00:13:42.78\00:13:44.15 where the gathering of God's people, 00:13:44.19\00:13:45.69 wherever they are, is underway. 00:13:45.72\00:13:47.92 And when Jesus comes, 00:13:47.96\00:13:49.36 once again, there will only be two groups, 00:13:49.39\00:13:51.43 those who worship Him in spirit and in truth, 00:13:51.49\00:13:53.56 and those who do not. 00:13:53.60\00:13:54.93 Amen. Thank you very much. 00:13:54.96\00:13:56.30 Thank you. 00:13:56.33\00:13:57.70 We now come back to Sister Shelley Quinn. 00:13:57.73\00:13:59.07 Okay. 00:13:59.10\00:14:00.50 Question for you is, 00:14:00.54\00:14:02.34 "Why did it have to take so long 00:14:02.37\00:14:06.21 before Jesus was born? 00:14:06.24\00:14:07.84 Why wasn't he born 00:14:07.88\00:14:09.21 right after sin had entered this world?" 00:14:09.24\00:14:12.01 This is from Arlene, from Sweden. 00:14:12.05\00:14:14.62 Arlene, it's a great question. 00:14:14.68\00:14:16.62 There are many theological theories as to why, 00:14:16.65\00:14:20.59 but I'm just going to tell you, I can't tell you. 00:14:20.62\00:14:23.19 Isaiah 55:9 says that God says, 00:14:23.22\00:14:28.13 "My thoughts are higher than your thoughts, 00:14:28.16\00:14:30.80 My ways are higher than your ways." 00:14:30.83\00:14:34.00 We know that He introduced the deliverer, 00:14:34.04\00:14:38.24 the promised seed in Genesis 3:15, 00:14:38.27\00:14:41.81 right after sin. 00:14:41.84\00:14:43.35 And you know what? 00:14:43.38\00:14:44.71 We just have to trust God's timing. 00:14:44.78\00:14:46.58 God is a God 00:14:46.61\00:14:48.05 who operates by love, by free will, 00:14:48.08\00:14:51.65 and according to certain time periods 00:14:51.72\00:14:55.22 and appointed times. 00:14:55.26\00:14:56.66 So I believe He has His good reasons 00:14:56.69\00:15:01.26 and too for His delays. 00:15:01.30\00:15:04.40 And you know, it could be that, Arlene, 00:15:04.43\00:15:07.27 that what He's doing is 00:15:07.30\00:15:09.40 trying to help the world truly understand 00:15:09.44\00:15:13.31 the magnitude of sin, 00:15:13.34\00:15:15.38 and through the progressive revelation of His plan, 00:15:15.41\00:15:18.85 but here's what I want to have you hold on to. 00:15:18.88\00:15:22.12 Sin will come to an end 00:15:22.15\00:15:24.09 in Nahum 1:9, He says, 00:15:24.12\00:15:26.45 "The Lord is good, 00:15:26.49\00:15:27.82 a stronghold in the day of trouble. 00:15:27.89\00:15:29.22 He knows those who trust in Him. 00:15:29.26\00:15:30.96 But with an overflowing flood, 00:15:30.99\00:15:32.99 He will make an utter end of its place 00:15:33.03\00:15:35.40 and darkness will pursue His enemies. 00:15:35.43\00:15:38.37 What do you conspire against the Lord? 00:15:38.40\00:15:40.57 He will make an utter end of it. 00:15:40.60\00:15:42.67 Affliction will not rise a second time." 00:15:42.70\00:15:46.34 So we know in Malachi that it says 00:15:46.37\00:15:49.41 the wicked will be ashes under our feet. 00:15:49.44\00:15:52.08 God's not going to leave them root or branch. 00:15:52.11\00:15:54.72 But we know 2 Peter 3:12-13 says that 00:15:54.75\00:15:58.29 we look forward 00:15:58.32\00:15:59.65 to a new heavens and a new earth 00:15:59.69\00:16:02.26 where righteousness dwells. 00:16:02.29\00:16:04.03 Amen. Amen. 00:16:04.06\00:16:05.39 Thank you very much. 00:16:05.43\00:16:06.76 Praise the Lord. 00:16:06.80\00:16:08.10 Well, we see this question tells me that 00:16:08.13\00:16:10.17 people are studying the prophecies. 00:16:10.20\00:16:12.10 And we are going to go 00:16:12.13\00:16:14.37 to Pastor Ryan Day for this one. 00:16:14.44\00:16:16.50 In Matthew 24:29, it says, 00:16:16.54\00:16:21.88 "The sun will grow dark, 00:16:21.91\00:16:23.81 and the moon will not give its light." 00:16:23.85\00:16:26.51 "I learned," she says, 00:16:26.55\00:16:28.52 "that this happened in May, 1780. 00:16:28.55\00:16:32.05 Will this happen again before Jesus returns?" 00:16:32.09\00:16:34.99 This is from Jennifer from Jamaica. 00:16:35.06\00:16:37.36 Absolutely, there is an overwhelming evidence 00:16:37.39\00:16:40.83 to show that this will happen again. 00:16:40.86\00:16:43.30 We got to recognize that 00:16:43.33\00:16:45.80 these signs happening in the heavens and on earth. 00:16:45.83\00:16:49.14 These follow the Great Tribulation time periods. 00:16:49.17\00:16:52.07 We saw a first Great Tribulation time period. 00:16:52.11\00:16:54.88 And it's lengthened 1260 years during the Dark Ages. 00:16:54.94\00:16:59.08 And as you were referencing there, Jennifer, 00:16:59.11\00:17:01.88 this series of happenings that happened in the moon 00:17:01.95\00:17:06.69 and the sun and the stars, 00:17:06.72\00:17:08.06 and you know, the heavens be shaken. 00:17:08.09\00:17:10.49 That it was mentioned in Matthew 24, 00:17:10.53\00:17:12.16 and then again also in Revelation Chapter 6. 00:17:12.19\00:17:15.10 And, of course, there's also some mentioning 00:17:15.16\00:17:16.73 of the same things happening in the Book of Joel. 00:17:16.77\00:17:19.50 We have to understand that there is a dual application 00:17:19.53\00:17:21.70 to many of these things. 00:17:21.74\00:17:23.07 Just because there was a Great Tribulation time period 00:17:23.10\00:17:25.07 in the Dark Ages 00:17:25.11\00:17:26.44 does not mean there's not going 00:17:26.47\00:17:27.84 to be another Great Tribulation time period. 00:17:27.88\00:17:29.21 In fact, we know it because the Bible confirms that 00:17:29.24\00:17:30.81 there will be an even greater tribulation time period, 00:17:30.85\00:17:34.12 mentioned there in Daniel 12:1. 00:17:34.15\00:17:36.62 And, of course, we see that 00:17:36.65\00:17:37.99 great global tribulation time period happening 00:17:38.05\00:17:40.82 in Revelation Chapter 16, 00:17:40.86\00:17:42.82 with this pouring out of the seven last plagues. 00:17:42.86\00:17:45.86 But this sin, these are the signs 00:17:45.89\00:17:48.13 and He's in the heavens, 00:17:48.16\00:17:49.50 for instance, the earthquake that you're mentioning 00:17:49.53\00:17:51.23 happened in 1755, 00:17:51.30\00:17:53.00 the sun turning black or dark in 1780, 00:17:53.03\00:17:55.90 the moon did not give its light 00:17:55.94\00:17:57.61 or actually turned to blood, red blood in 1780, 00:17:57.64\00:18:01.84 and the stars in 1833. 00:18:01.88\00:18:03.65 And I've had some people suggest that 00:18:03.68\00:18:05.51 perhaps the mentioning of this in Revelation 6:12-13, 00:18:05.55\00:18:09.52 could actually be referring 00:18:09.55\00:18:10.89 because it's in the exact order 00:18:10.92\00:18:12.49 that these events happened back after the Dark Ages, 00:18:12.52\00:18:16.12 and that the ones in Matthew 24 00:18:16.16\00:18:17.79 referring to the very end of time 00:18:17.83\00:18:19.86 right before the Second Coming of Jesus. 00:18:19.89\00:18:21.56 You know, it really doesn't matter either way, 00:18:21.63\00:18:23.06 because it's still, we still know there's going 00:18:23.10\00:18:24.50 to be some sign to happen in the sun, 00:18:24.53\00:18:26.47 some stars or a lot of stars are going to fall, 00:18:26.50\00:18:28.47 we know that the moon whether it turns blood, 00:18:28.50\00:18:30.44 or does not give its light. 00:18:30.47\00:18:31.84 We know very, very much 00:18:31.87\00:18:33.21 so that these exact same signs 00:18:33.24\00:18:35.21 according to both Matthew 24 and Revelation 6:12-13. 00:18:35.24\00:18:40.12 It will happen again 00:18:40.15\00:18:41.48 right before the Second Coming of Jesus. 00:18:41.55\00:18:43.75 Thank you, Pastor Ryan. 00:18:43.79\00:18:45.55 And, Pastor Lomacang, 00:18:45.59\00:18:47.36 we have a delicate question here for you. 00:18:47.39\00:18:50.46 And it's coming from Kenya, Christopher from Kenya. 00:18:50.49\00:18:53.70 He says, 00:18:53.73\00:18:55.03 "First, I know life is sacred 00:18:55.10\00:18:57.10 and should be treated as such. 00:18:57.13\00:18:59.90 I've always been against abortion, 00:18:59.93\00:19:02.10 regardless of the circumstances 00:19:02.17\00:19:04.24 surrounding the conception of the child, 00:19:04.27\00:19:06.37 i.e., rape, incest, etc. 00:19:06.41\00:19:10.05 However, I have always supported the notion 00:19:10.08\00:19:12.78 that if the life of the mother is at risk, 00:19:12.81\00:19:15.35 then termination of the pregnancy is permitted. 00:19:15.38\00:19:18.72 Recently, this position has been challenged 00:19:18.75\00:19:21.92 and I would like clarity on this issue 00:19:21.99\00:19:24.53 from the Bible." 00:19:24.56\00:19:25.89 Okay. 00:19:25.93\00:19:27.23 Now, this is a delicate issue. 00:19:27.30\00:19:28.60 And I want to make that very clear to those 00:19:28.63\00:19:29.96 who are listening to my response. 00:19:30.00\00:19:31.47 I'm going to deal with this from the scriptures 00:19:31.50\00:19:32.90 and then also deal with it from the parameters 00:19:32.93\00:19:34.74 as the individual asking the question 00:19:34.77\00:19:36.64 said this is a delicate, 00:19:36.67\00:19:39.01 he says, the position has been challenged recently. 00:19:39.04\00:19:42.11 When you talk about the issue of abortion, 00:19:42.18\00:19:43.91 you open up a can of worms that are not easily, 00:19:43.95\00:19:47.48 you don't put a lid back on it. 00:19:47.52\00:19:49.08 But before I answer the question, 00:19:49.12\00:19:50.85 I need to make it very clear that the issue of abortion 00:19:50.89\00:19:53.62 has been a hotly debated issue. 00:19:53.66\00:19:55.76 By no means does the Bible support 00:19:55.79\00:19:57.83 the taking of the life of the unborn or the born. 00:19:57.86\00:20:02.96 Either way you look at that, murder is murder either way. 00:20:03.00\00:20:06.90 Somebody might say, 00:20:06.94\00:20:08.30 well, the unborn child doesn't have the choice. 00:20:08.34\00:20:10.51 And that is exactly correct. 00:20:10.54\00:20:12.77 Also, the same case could be made when you go, 00:20:12.81\00:20:14.94 we had some school shootings up in Connecticut 00:20:14.98\00:20:17.05 where little children in the second or third grade, 00:20:17.08\00:20:20.28 they had no choice either. 00:20:20.32\00:20:21.88 So what's the difference? 00:20:21.92\00:20:23.32 One is already alive, the other one is not born yet. 00:20:23.35\00:20:28.12 The Bible makes it clear that thou shalt not kill 00:20:28.16\00:20:30.66 does not just apply to the unborn. 00:20:30.69\00:20:33.06 Thou shalt not kill applies across the board. 00:20:33.09\00:20:36.23 And so when people look at abortion, 00:20:36.26\00:20:38.60 making that a separate issue altogether, 00:20:38.63\00:20:40.97 and they ignore the life of those 00:20:41.00\00:20:42.34 who are already alive, 00:20:42.37\00:20:43.71 you find issues such as people that say, 00:20:43.74\00:20:45.37 well, doctors should not perform abortions. 00:20:45.44\00:20:48.84 But they go ahead and kill the doctor 00:20:48.88\00:20:50.21 that performed abortion. 00:20:50.25\00:20:51.58 In both cases, it's murder. That's right. 00:20:51.61\00:20:53.68 So let's make this very clear that the abortion issue 00:20:53.72\00:20:55.92 is not the only issue 00:20:55.95\00:20:57.29 on which thou shalt not kill hinges. 00:20:57.32\00:20:59.85 And when it talks about choice, 00:20:59.89\00:21:03.36 this is the issue I think that was addressed, 00:21:03.39\00:21:05.29 I believe in his question, 00:21:05.33\00:21:06.66 because he said, if it's incest or rape, 00:21:06.70\00:21:08.73 then she cannot terminate the pregnancy. 00:21:08.76\00:21:11.03 Well, that depends on 00:21:11.07\00:21:12.40 whether you're the one that's raped, 00:21:12.43\00:21:13.77 or you're the one that have to go through incest. 00:21:13.80\00:21:15.54 In some parts of the world, 00:21:15.57\00:21:16.91 we're living in a world 00:21:16.94\00:21:18.27 where child trafficking, babies, 00:21:18.34\00:21:21.14 literally girls 11, 12, 13 00:21:21.18\00:21:22.71 have been impregnated by crazy men, 00:21:22.74\00:21:25.08 militia groups, 00:21:25.11\00:21:26.45 and they're saying if we impregnate these girls, 00:21:26.48\00:21:27.82 they better have that child. 00:21:27.85\00:21:29.18 If that's you, 00:21:29.22\00:21:30.55 I think you'll have quite a different position. 00:21:30.59\00:21:32.45 Let me go to a story now. 00:21:32.49\00:21:34.22 When my, when I was born, when my mother was pregnant, 00:21:34.26\00:21:38.06 she was unwed. 00:21:38.09\00:21:40.03 She was not married. 00:21:40.06\00:21:42.33 I was born out of wedlock. 00:21:42.36\00:21:43.90 The world calls that 00:21:43.93\00:21:45.37 and I'm going to use a term here. 00:21:45.40\00:21:46.77 They call that a bastard child. 00:21:46.80\00:21:49.30 I'm not a bastard child. 00:21:49.34\00:21:50.67 No, you're not. 00:21:50.71\00:21:52.14 I didn't do anything wrong. 00:21:52.17\00:21:53.74 The illegitimate ones were my parents. 00:21:53.78\00:21:56.91 I was simply born based on the process 00:21:56.95\00:21:58.85 that the Lord has ordained. 00:21:58.88\00:22:00.62 What we have to keep in mind is the Lord, life is sacred. 00:22:00.65\00:22:05.32 Jeremiah 1:5, 00:22:05.35\00:22:07.66 "Before I formed you in the womb, 00:22:07.69\00:22:10.33 I knew you. 00:22:10.36\00:22:11.69 Before you were born, I sanctified you, 00:22:11.76\00:22:15.00 I ordained you a prophet to the nations." 00:22:15.03\00:22:17.13 And I believe before I was born, 00:22:17.17\00:22:19.37 the Lord saw my situation and says, 00:22:19.40\00:22:20.94 "I got a special plan for you." 00:22:20.97\00:22:22.57 I praise God, my mother did not believe in abortion. 00:22:22.60\00:22:25.74 And also, you find in the Bible, 00:22:25.77\00:22:28.61 that when Mary and Elizabeth met 00:22:28.68\00:22:32.81 in Luke 1:41, and it says, 00:22:32.85\00:22:35.02 "And it happened when Elizabeth heard 00:22:35.05\00:22:36.45 the greeting of Mary, 00:22:36.48\00:22:37.82 that the babe leaped in her womb, 00:22:37.85\00:22:39.29 then Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit." 00:22:39.32\00:22:41.36 So there was some point of the child 00:22:41.39\00:22:43.46 not even being outside the womb 00:22:43.49\00:22:45.03 was affected by what was taking place 00:22:45.06\00:22:46.39 outside the womb. 00:22:46.43\00:22:48.10 Make the point very clear. 00:22:48.16\00:22:49.86 Choice is something the Lord never rescinded 00:22:49.90\00:22:52.37 from any human being. 00:22:52.40\00:22:53.94 I placed before you two rows, life and blessings, 00:22:53.97\00:22:56.30 death and cursings. 00:22:56.34\00:22:57.67 He says, choose life. 00:22:57.71\00:22:59.31 But we still have to make a choice. 00:22:59.34\00:23:01.34 So unless you're in that position, 00:23:01.41\00:23:03.48 I don't believe that 00:23:03.51\00:23:04.85 we can enforce this law on someone, 00:23:04.88\00:23:06.55 but we can surely stand for what is right 00:23:06.58\00:23:08.42 according to God's Word. 00:23:08.45\00:23:09.85 And thou shalt not kill is murder, 00:23:09.88\00:23:11.79 whether you're alive, 00:23:11.82\00:23:13.15 or whether you have not been born yet. 00:23:13.19\00:23:15.26 Thank you very much. 00:23:15.29\00:23:16.79 We now want to offer you again, 00:23:16.83\00:23:18.86 the opportunity to send in your questions 00:23:18.93\00:23:21.66 so that we can present it to our panel. 00:23:21.70\00:23:23.57 You may even as some people are doing, 00:23:23.60\00:23:25.43 address this specifically to someone on the panel. 00:23:25.47\00:23:28.30 And so, if you would like to text your question, 00:23:28.34\00:23:30.91 the number is (618) 228-3975. 00:23:30.94\00:23:34.94 (618) 228-3975. 00:23:34.98\00:23:37.95 I'll say that again, (618) 228-3975. 00:23:37.98\00:23:41.82 By email, it's very easy, just BibleQA@3abn.org 00:23:41.88\00:23:47.39 BibleQA@3abn.org 00:23:47.42\00:23:52.09 And so we continue with our questions. 00:23:52.13\00:23:54.63 And we go to Pastor Ryan Day in this one. 00:23:54.66\00:23:58.80 "How do I prepare to have the character of Jesus 00:23:58.83\00:24:02.77 as I believe and follow the Sabbath day, 00:24:02.80\00:24:05.71 as an elder of 65 years?" 00:24:05.77\00:24:08.08 Absolutely. 00:24:08.14\00:24:09.48 Well, to be honest with you, my brother, 00:24:09.51\00:24:12.25 if I believe this is coming from, 00:24:12.31\00:24:14.45 maybe it's not our brother, I don't know. 00:24:14.48\00:24:16.55 But either way, I want you to understand that 00:24:16.58\00:24:18.35 it doesn't matter 00:24:18.39\00:24:19.72 whether you have kept the Sabbath all your life 00:24:19.75\00:24:22.26 or you haven't, 00:24:22.32\00:24:24.23 to prepare to have the character of Jesus 00:24:24.26\00:24:25.99 is the same for every single person. 00:24:26.03\00:24:28.03 And we have to understand that 00:24:28.06\00:24:29.40 the only way that 00:24:29.43\00:24:30.77 that character can be developed is 00:24:30.80\00:24:32.13 if we are beholding Jesus Christ. 00:24:32.20\00:24:35.57 It really is as simple as that. 00:24:35.60\00:24:37.31 And obviously, what we mean by beholding, 00:24:37.34\00:24:39.54 in a literal sense, 00:24:39.57\00:24:40.91 people obviously are thinking of, 00:24:40.94\00:24:42.31 you know, looking and staring or beholding simply means 00:24:42.34\00:24:46.45 completely surrendering your will 00:24:46.48\00:24:48.65 to the will of God, 00:24:48.68\00:24:50.02 placing the life of Christ before you, 00:24:50.05\00:24:52.62 His example, His teachings, His word, 00:24:52.65\00:24:55.59 and meditating on that, 00:24:55.62\00:24:57.03 making that word a part of your life 00:24:57.06\00:24:59.73 and feeling your inner man 00:24:59.76\00:25:01.66 with that of the mind of Jesus Christ, 00:25:01.70\00:25:04.57 just as Jesus had the conversation 00:25:04.60\00:25:06.50 with Nicodemus there. 00:25:06.53\00:25:07.87 He said, 00:25:07.90\00:25:09.24 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, 00:25:09.27\00:25:10.61 so shall also the Son of man be lifted up." 00:25:10.64\00:25:13.31 And so we must behold, 00:25:13.34\00:25:14.68 there is life in a look at the Savior. 00:25:14.71\00:25:16.61 So that's the most important thing. 00:25:16.64\00:25:17.98 First, we behold the Lord. 00:25:18.01\00:25:19.81 And, of course, when we do this, 00:25:19.85\00:25:21.45 as we behold Him, 00:25:21.48\00:25:22.82 you've heard that saying, as by beholding, 00:25:22.85\00:25:24.39 we become change, 00:25:24.42\00:25:25.89 and that is certainly the case, we become sons of God. 00:25:25.92\00:25:29.76 And then, and according to Romans 8:14, 00:25:29.79\00:25:32.59 if we are, if we are led by the Spirit of God, 00:25:32.63\00:25:35.63 then we are sons of God. 00:25:35.70\00:25:37.37 So we need to be led by the Spirit of God daily, 00:25:37.40\00:25:40.14 as we take up our cross daily. 00:25:40.17\00:25:42.24 Luke 9:23, that if we deny ourselves 00:25:42.27\00:25:45.61 and take up our cross daily and follow Him, 00:25:45.64\00:25:48.18 then we are His indeed, 00:25:48.21\00:25:49.81 we are abiding 00:25:49.84\00:25:51.18 in a daily relationship with Christ. 00:25:51.21\00:25:52.95 It is that ongoing life of faithful work 00:25:52.98\00:25:56.05 each and every day 00:25:56.08\00:25:57.42 as we surrender our will to Him, 00:25:57.45\00:25:58.79 that the mind of Christ is being pressed upon us, 00:25:58.82\00:26:01.52 He increases and we decrease. 00:26:01.56\00:26:04.49 And before you know what the old man is gone, 00:26:04.53\00:26:06.83 and the new man that is Christ in you, 00:26:06.86\00:26:09.43 the hope of glory is there. 00:26:09.46\00:26:11.43 And, of course, ultimately, the character of Christ 00:26:11.47\00:26:13.80 is very, very much put on a clear display 00:26:13.84\00:26:15.97 in Galatians 5:22-23. 00:26:16.00\00:26:18.61 And that is you begin to show forth the fruits of the Spirit 00:26:18.64\00:26:22.64 that is leading and guiding you. 00:26:22.68\00:26:24.01 Amen. Thank you very much. 00:26:24.05\00:26:25.38 Thank you. 00:26:25.45\00:26:26.78 Sister Shelley Quinn, are you ready? 00:26:26.82\00:26:28.42 I'm ready. All right. 00:26:28.45\00:26:30.25 "Can you explain Exodus 22:29-30, 00:26:30.29\00:26:34.79 about the firstborn of your sons." 00:26:34.82\00:26:37.46 This is from Ron and Debbie from Wisconsin. 00:26:37.49\00:26:39.63 Okay, Ron and Debbie. 00:26:39.66\00:26:41.13 Exodus 22:29 says, 00:26:41.16\00:26:43.26 "You shall not delay to offer the first 00:26:43.30\00:26:46.27 of your ripe produce, and your juices. 00:26:46.30\00:26:48.70 The firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me," 00:26:48.74\00:26:51.57 the Lord says." 00:26:51.61\00:26:52.94 So the firstborn of man and beast, 00:26:52.97\00:26:54.51 the firstborn of all of their produce 00:26:54.54\00:26:57.15 was required of the people. 00:26:57.18\00:26:59.01 Now with the child, the firstborn of a couple 00:26:59.05\00:27:02.82 was dedicated at one month old, 00:27:02.85\00:27:06.49 they were then redeemed by a money payment. 00:27:06.52\00:27:10.99 We'll see Numbers 18:16 says, 00:27:11.03\00:27:14.73 "Those redeemed of the devoted things 00:27:14.76\00:27:18.03 you shall redeem when one month old 00:27:18.07\00:27:23.71 for five shekels of silver." 00:27:23.74\00:27:27.04 The rest was offered in sacrifice. 00:27:27.08\00:27:29.41 This is in memory of Egypt's firstborn. 00:27:29.44\00:27:34.72 Let me show you this. 00:27:34.75\00:27:36.08 Because when the tenth plague was put on Egypt, 00:27:36.12\00:27:40.62 there was a preservation of the firstborn of Israel. 00:27:40.66\00:27:44.96 And in Exodus 13:13-15, this is what the Lord says, 00:27:44.99\00:27:49.83 "All the firstborn of man among your sons 00:27:49.86\00:27:52.23 you shall redeem. 00:27:52.30\00:27:53.94 So it shall be, when your son asks you 00:27:53.97\00:27:55.97 in time to come, saying, 00:27:56.00\00:27:57.51 'What is this?' 00:27:57.54\00:27:58.87 Then you shall say to him, 00:27:58.94\00:28:00.34 'By strength of hand 00:28:00.38\00:28:01.98 the Lord brought us out of Egypt, 00:28:02.01\00:28:04.15 out of the house of bondage. 00:28:04.18\00:28:05.71 And it came to pass, 00:28:05.75\00:28:07.12 when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, 00:28:07.15\00:28:09.82 that the Lord killed all the firstborn 00:28:09.85\00:28:13.02 in the land of Egypt 00:28:13.05\00:28:15.36 and the firstborn of beast. 00:28:15.42\00:28:17.66 Therefore sacrifice, I sacrifice to the Lord, 00:28:17.69\00:28:21.73 all males that open the womb, 00:28:21.76\00:28:24.13 and all the firstborn of my sons, I redeem." 00:28:24.17\00:28:28.67 One further thought, 00:28:28.70\00:28:30.11 firstborns had a priority status, 00:28:30.14\00:28:33.48 double portion of the inheritance, 00:28:33.51\00:28:35.51 extra responsibilities, 00:28:35.54\00:28:37.31 but firstborn is also a covenant term. 00:28:37.35\00:28:41.75 In Exodus 4:22-23, 00:28:41.78\00:28:44.99 God called Israel, His firstborn son. 00:28:45.02\00:28:48.89 Jesus Christ is called firstborn, 00:28:48.92\00:28:52.06 not because He was issued forth from the bosom of the Lord, 00:28:52.09\00:28:56.03 but it means preeminent. 00:28:56.06\00:28:59.80 Thank you very much. Very good, thank you. 00:28:59.83\00:29:02.40 Well, Pastor Lomacang, we now come to you. 00:29:02.44\00:29:04.71 And this question is, 00:29:04.74\00:29:08.51 "How do I address this argument? 00:29:08.54\00:29:11.05 Is God really fair and just? 00:29:11.08\00:29:13.52 I didn't ask to be born into this mess. 00:29:13.55\00:29:16.22 I have no control on my existence. 00:29:16.25\00:29:18.42 Is it fair and just that I could be forced... 00:29:18.45\00:29:20.42 I should be forced into a world 00:29:20.46\00:29:22.19 in which I must serve someone or something, 00:29:22.22\00:29:24.93 and if I choose wrong, I'm subject to a second death. 00:29:24.96\00:29:27.73 I didn't ask to be born." 00:29:27.76\00:29:29.40 This is from CW. 00:29:29.43\00:29:30.93 When I read that question, I chuckled a little bit 00:29:30.97\00:29:32.87 because, you know, one thing we can do, 00:29:32.90\00:29:35.44 one thing we can't change is what already happened. 00:29:35.47\00:29:38.51 But one thing we can change is what we're going to do next. 00:29:38.54\00:29:42.18 And the Israelites felt the very same way. 00:29:42.21\00:29:44.98 They had this recalcitrant spirit 00:29:45.01\00:29:47.65 that they were blaming God for all their adversities. 00:29:47.68\00:29:50.85 First, you're saying please free us from Egypt. 00:29:50.89\00:29:54.46 You got us out, now you're going 00:29:54.49\00:29:55.86 to kill us in the wilderness. 00:29:55.89\00:29:57.23 We're starving. We don't have any water. 00:29:57.26\00:29:58.59 Give us some quail to eat. 00:29:58.63\00:30:00.43 Oh, our children and our grandchildren 00:30:00.46\00:30:02.56 and our wives cannot handle the heat out here. 00:30:02.60\00:30:05.33 And Moses, why do you cry to me? 00:30:05.37\00:30:07.70 Well, let me make a point. 00:30:07.74\00:30:09.47 Ezekiel 18:29. 00:30:09.50\00:30:11.97 If you think that your life is unfair, 00:30:12.01\00:30:14.58 what's even more unfair is you have a choice 00:30:14.61\00:30:17.15 for eternal life and you don't make it. 00:30:17.18\00:30:19.91 That's worse than saying you had no choice. 00:30:19.95\00:30:23.62 You didn't have choice about where you're going to be born, 00:30:23.65\00:30:25.95 who your mom and dad were going to be. 00:30:25.99\00:30:27.69 You didn't have a choice about your nationality 00:30:27.72\00:30:29.42 nor your gender. 00:30:29.46\00:30:30.79 Those were decided by you from birth issues. 00:30:30.83\00:30:33.76 For like me, 00:30:33.80\00:30:35.13 I was born and left at a babysitter 00:30:35.16\00:30:37.43 at three-months-old. 00:30:37.47\00:30:38.83 I didn't choose to be abandoned at three-months-old. 00:30:38.90\00:30:41.57 But one day I heard a radio program 00:30:41.60\00:30:43.10 where one radio talk show host, 00:30:43.14\00:30:45.24 a woman said to a young girl 00:30:45.27\00:30:46.68 complaining that she didn't get anything from her parents. 00:30:46.71\00:30:48.51 She said, 00:30:48.54\00:30:49.88 "Young lady, what did your parents give you?" 00:30:49.91\00:30:53.28 Finally, she led her to say "Life." 00:30:53.31\00:30:55.18 She said, "Then shut up and do something about it." 00:30:55.25\00:30:57.95 Now I'm not telling you to shut up 00:30:57.99\00:30:59.32 and do something about it. 00:30:59.35\00:31:00.76 I'm telling you that you are at the pivotal point 00:31:00.79\00:31:02.46 where the next decision you make 00:31:02.49\00:31:03.99 can alter your life here 00:31:04.03\00:31:06.03 and give to you the gift of eternal life. 00:31:06.09\00:31:08.96 The Bible says, 00:31:09.03\00:31:10.37 "For God so loved the world 00:31:10.40\00:31:11.77 that He gave His only begotten Son, 00:31:11.80\00:31:14.20 that whosoever regardless of the unfair circumstances, 00:31:14.24\00:31:17.51 that you are now called to shoulder 00:31:17.54\00:31:20.24 that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, 00:31:20.28\00:31:23.08 but have everlasting life." 00:31:23.11\00:31:25.31 If you were to turn to the Lord now, 00:31:25.38\00:31:28.18 all that has happened to you that sounds unfair, 00:31:28.22\00:31:31.19 will be replaced with something you don't even deserve. 00:31:31.22\00:31:34.42 And that's the gift of eternal life. 00:31:34.46\00:31:36.36 Take advantage and embrace that today. 00:31:36.39\00:31:39.26 Amen. Amen. 00:31:39.29\00:31:40.63 Thank you very much. Thank you. 00:31:40.66\00:31:42.23 Well, then, let's go back to Sister Shelley Quinn here 00:31:42.30\00:31:45.17 and bring you this question from Julie, South Dakota. 00:31:45.20\00:31:47.60 Okay. 00:31:47.64\00:31:48.97 "When God is determining 00:31:49.04\00:31:50.37 who gets to spend eternity with Him in heaven, 00:31:50.41\00:31:52.94 what criteria does He use to make that determination?" 00:31:52.97\00:31:57.18 Julie, there is a clear path to eternal life in Scripture. 00:31:57.21\00:32:00.85 Ephesians 2:8-10 says that 00:32:00.88\00:32:04.12 we are saved by grace through faith 00:32:04.15\00:32:05.72 not of works that any should boast, 00:32:05.75\00:32:07.59 but we were saved for good works in Christ Jesus. 00:32:07.62\00:32:10.43 We were created in Christ Jesus 00:32:10.46\00:32:12.56 for good works that the Lord prepared in advance. 00:32:12.59\00:32:15.90 And what we have to understand good works don't save us, 00:32:15.93\00:32:19.50 but they're evidence of our salvation. 00:32:19.53\00:32:23.20 Now, it's important that we do God's will. 00:32:23.24\00:32:26.98 Jesus said that in Matthew 7:20-21, He said, 00:32:27.01\00:32:31.71 "You call Me Lord, Lord, 00:32:31.75\00:32:33.15 but only those who do the will of My Father in heaven, 00:32:33.18\00:32:39.02 will enter the kingdom of heaven." 00:32:39.09\00:32:41.62 And Hebrews 5:9 says that 00:32:41.66\00:32:43.73 "He became the author of eternal salvation 00:32:43.76\00:32:47.30 to all who obey Him." 00:32:47.30\00:32:50.33 So let me give you four quick steps. 00:32:50.37\00:32:52.67 First, we have to recognize that we're sinners. 00:32:52.73\00:32:55.24 Romans 3:23-24, 00:32:55.30\00:32:57.77 "All sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, 00:32:57.81\00:33:01.54 being justified freely by His grace 00:33:01.58\00:33:05.75 through the redemption in Christ Jesus." 00:33:05.78\00:33:08.18 Second, we have to confess that we are sinners. 00:33:08.22\00:33:11.22 1 John 1:9 says that, if He is faithful and just, 00:33:11.25\00:33:15.66 if we confess our sin, He forgives us of our sin, 00:33:15.69\00:33:20.10 and He cleanses us of all unrighteousness. 00:33:20.13\00:33:23.47 Third, you've got to receive God's gift. 00:33:23.50\00:33:25.93 Romans 6:23 says, 00:33:25.97\00:33:27.87 "The wages of sin is death, 00:33:27.90\00:33:30.27 but the free gift of God 00:33:30.31\00:33:33.51 is eternal life in Christ Jesus." 00:33:33.54\00:33:36.04 And then fourth, 00:33:36.08\00:33:37.41 you've got to be led by the Spirit. 00:33:37.45\00:33:38.91 Romans 8:13-17 says, 00:33:38.95\00:33:42.08 "If you live according to the flesh, you'll die, 00:33:42.12\00:33:44.22 but if by the Spirit, 00:33:44.25\00:33:46.65 you put to death, the deeds of the body, 00:33:46.69\00:33:49.02 you will live, 00:33:49.06\00:33:50.59 for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, 00:33:50.63\00:33:54.36 these are the sons of God and if we're the children, 00:33:54.36\00:33:58.53 then heirs, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ." 00:33:58.60\00:34:02.14 Amen. Amen. 00:34:02.17\00:34:03.57 Thank you. Thank you very much. 00:34:03.61\00:34:05.41 Pastor Ryan Day, Pastor Ryan Day, 00:34:05.47\00:34:07.28 we have another question for you. 00:34:07.31\00:34:08.64 "Will the people who perished in the flood be in heaven? 00:34:08.68\00:34:13.31 Please give Bible references whether they will or will not." 00:34:13.35\00:34:18.19 This is from Jacqueline in India. 00:34:18.22\00:34:20.39 Sure, absolutely. 00:34:20.42\00:34:21.76 Well, I can say with certainty, 00:34:21.79\00:34:23.99 based on what the Bible teaches 00:34:24.03\00:34:25.36 that these people who perished in the flood 00:34:25.39\00:34:27.30 will not be in the kingdom of God. 00:34:27.36\00:34:29.76 And there's a couple of Bible texts, 00:34:29.80\00:34:31.50 few Bible passages that we can find that in. 00:34:31.53\00:34:33.57 First of all, let's go to Genesis Chapter 6, 00:34:33.60\00:34:35.24 and look at verses 5 and 6. 00:34:35.27\00:34:36.91 That says, 00:34:36.94\00:34:38.27 "Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man 00:34:38.31\00:34:39.64 was great in the earth, 00:34:39.67\00:34:41.14 and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart 00:34:41.18\00:34:43.04 were only evil continually." 00:34:43.08\00:34:45.11 So what kind of people were these? 00:34:45.15\00:34:46.61 These were evil people, and how often were they evil? 00:34:46.65\00:34:49.65 They were evil continually 00:34:49.68\00:34:51.12 because their thoughts were evil continually. 00:34:51.15\00:34:52.92 In fact, it even goes on to say in verse 6. 00:34:52.95\00:34:54.56 It says, 00:34:54.59\00:34:55.92 "And the Lord was sorry 00:34:55.99\00:34:57.33 that He had made man on the earth, 00:34:57.36\00:34:58.69 and He was grieved in His heart." 00:34:58.73\00:35:00.50 And so He goes, we know this story very clear, 00:35:00.53\00:35:02.46 He goes to Noah and he tells Noah, 00:35:02.50\00:35:04.63 "Noah build an ark because I'm going to flood, 00:35:04.67\00:35:06.74 I'm going to destroy this earth." 00:35:06.77\00:35:08.10 And there was only one means of salvation from that flood 00:35:08.14\00:35:10.87 and that was they had to trust in the word of the Lord 00:35:10.91\00:35:14.04 that was preached through Noah to get on that ark. 00:35:14.08\00:35:17.05 So anyone who was on the ark was saved, 00:35:17.08\00:35:19.01 anyone who was not on the ark, 00:35:19.08\00:35:20.82 well, they had their ultimate finish. 00:35:20.85\00:35:23.05 If you also compare that to 1 Peter 3:20, 00:35:23.08\00:35:26.79 speaking of these people who were evil continually. 00:35:26.82\00:35:29.29 It says, who were formerly, who formerly were disobedient, 00:35:29.32\00:35:32.59 so they were disobedient, 00:35:32.66\00:35:34.10 when once the divine long suffering waited 00:35:34.10\00:35:36.30 in the days of Noah, 00:35:36.33\00:35:37.67 while the ark was being prepared, 00:35:37.70\00:35:39.07 in which a few that is eight souls 00:35:39.10\00:35:42.14 were saved through water. 00:35:42.17\00:35:43.51 So only eight people 00:35:43.54\00:35:45.07 were accounted righteous by faith. 00:35:45.11\00:35:48.34 Really, it was by the faith of Noah, 00:35:48.38\00:35:50.01 his family was even saved. 00:35:50.05\00:35:51.45 But eight people listened and obeyed the word of the Lord 00:35:51.48\00:35:54.32 and got on that ark, 00:35:54.35\00:35:55.72 and therefore it was accounted to them as righteousness. 00:35:55.75\00:35:57.65 And, of course, I'm not going to be able 00:35:57.69\00:35:59.02 to read the whole passage given the time here. 00:35:59.09\00:36:00.72 But if you go read 2 Peter 2:4-6, 00:36:00.76\00:36:04.39 you see an interesting comparison. 00:36:04.43\00:36:06.59 God compares the people in Noah's day that were, 00:36:06.63\00:36:09.00 that perished in the flood to the fallen angels of heaven. 00:36:09.03\00:36:11.90 Are the fallen angels in heaven going to make it 00:36:11.93\00:36:13.37 in the kingdom of God? 00:36:13.40\00:36:14.74 No, they will be destroyed, as the Bible says, 00:36:14.77\00:36:16.34 in the lake of fire. 00:36:16.37\00:36:17.71 And also he compares them to the wicked people 00:36:17.74\00:36:19.61 of Sodom and Gomorrah. 00:36:19.64\00:36:20.98 Are the Sodom, people of Sodom and Gomorrah 00:36:21.01\00:36:22.41 are going to go back, they're going to be allowed 00:36:22.48\00:36:24.31 in the kingdom of heaven? 00:36:24.35\00:36:25.68 Those who perished in that city? No. 00:36:25.75\00:36:27.08 So this is very clear, 00:36:27.12\00:36:28.45 the Bible makes it very, very clear 00:36:28.48\00:36:30.42 that those who perished in the flood 00:36:30.45\00:36:32.15 during Noah's days, 00:36:32.19\00:36:33.52 they were evil, they were not saved, 00:36:33.56\00:36:35.26 and therefore they will not be in the kingdom of God. 00:36:35.29\00:36:37.36 Amen. 00:36:37.39\00:36:38.73 Very good. Very clear. 00:36:38.76\00:36:40.20 All right. Pastor Lomacang, are you ready? 00:36:40.23\00:36:42.40 I think so. 00:36:42.46\00:36:43.80 We have one for you as well. 00:36:43.83\00:36:45.17 We have, 00:36:45.20\00:36:46.53 "Can someone repent 00:36:46.57\00:36:49.10 without knowing how bad sin is? 00:36:49.14\00:36:51.71 Like the story of the prodigal son, 00:36:51.74\00:36:53.88 when he realized there was nothing out there, 00:36:53.91\00:36:56.34 then, he then appreciated his father's home. 00:36:56.38\00:36:59.11 So can someone who hasn't experienced the badness 00:36:59.15\00:37:02.65 or evilness of sin truly repent?" 00:37:02.68\00:37:05.25 This apparently was sent from Instagram. 00:37:05.29\00:37:07.49 I am so glad that... 00:37:07.52\00:37:10.46 Wow, that's a great question. 00:37:10.49\00:37:11.83 But it's a pretty easy answer. 00:37:11.86\00:37:13.96 And I put, make three very quick bullet points here. 00:37:14.00\00:37:17.13 You don't have to experience the depth of sin to repent. 00:37:17.17\00:37:20.37 Amen. 00:37:20.40\00:37:21.74 Some people wish 00:37:21.77\00:37:23.20 they could reverse the decisions they made 00:37:23.24\00:37:26.81 to go out into the world. 00:37:26.84\00:37:28.81 And as it were experienced what they thought 00:37:28.84\00:37:31.48 was some kind of trophy. 00:37:31.51\00:37:33.25 Some people look at sin as well, it's pleasurable, 00:37:33.28\00:37:36.48 I need to get an experience of it. 00:37:36.52\00:37:38.49 And when I have had my fill, 00:37:38.52\00:37:40.69 then I will give my life to the Lord. 00:37:40.72\00:37:42.52 Many of them never make it back. 00:37:42.56\00:37:44.49 The world you have to understand 00:37:44.53\00:37:46.23 sin is not some kind of excursion 00:37:46.29\00:37:48.33 that you go on. 00:37:48.36\00:37:49.73 And when you go in the roller coaster, 00:37:49.76\00:37:52.07 it has an end you get off and then go back to life, 00:37:52.10\00:37:54.84 as you usually does. 00:37:54.87\00:37:56.37 Years ago, I heard a statement in the movie, 00:37:56.40\00:37:59.24 God is not dead. 00:37:59.27\00:38:01.04 The older lady said to her son who was recalcitrant, 00:38:01.08\00:38:03.71 refused to give his life to the Lord 00:38:03.75\00:38:05.61 and she said sin is like a jail cell. 00:38:05.65\00:38:09.08 You can go in and out of that every day 00:38:09.12\00:38:11.39 until one day the door closes and you can't get out. 00:38:11.42\00:38:15.09 And I thought and he, he wondered, 00:38:15.12\00:38:18.26 how could that possibly be? 00:38:18.29\00:38:20.36 You don't want to experience the depth of sin. 00:38:20.40\00:38:22.53 The Bible says in Romans 6:23, the wages of sin is death. 00:38:22.56\00:38:26.20 And by the way, sin doesn't have any age limit. 00:38:26.23\00:38:29.17 The teenager, the middle age, the older person, 00:38:29.20\00:38:32.34 to make it to 60, 70, 80 years old 00:38:32.37\00:38:34.91 nowadays is a gift. 00:38:34.94\00:38:36.51 Because the world is replete 00:38:36.54\00:38:37.88 with young people that are dying 00:38:37.91\00:38:39.28 because they wanted to experience 00:38:39.31\00:38:40.65 the goodness of sin or the depth of sin. 00:38:40.68\00:38:43.49 There is no such thing as a reprieve from that. 00:38:43.52\00:38:46.12 The point I want to make is appreciate something about sin. 00:38:46.15\00:38:50.19 Sin is not stronger than salvation. 00:38:50.23\00:38:53.73 The greater gift is salvation. 00:38:53.76\00:38:55.80 And the Lord said, 00:38:55.83\00:38:57.33 or do you not despise, Romans 2:4, 00:38:57.37\00:38:59.67 or do you not despise the riches of His goodness, 00:38:59.70\00:39:03.37 His forbearance and suffering, 00:39:03.41\00:39:05.44 not knowing not the badness of sin, 00:39:05.47\00:39:08.68 but the goodness of God leads you to repentance. 00:39:08.71\00:39:12.28 Focus on God's goodness and repent, 00:39:12.31\00:39:14.62 not the badness of sin. 00:39:14.65\00:39:15.98 Amen. Amen. 00:39:16.05\00:39:17.39 Praise the Lord. Thank you very much. 00:39:17.42\00:39:19.25 Now we go to Sister Shelley Quinn. 00:39:19.32\00:39:21.89 "I would like to have more understanding 00:39:21.92\00:39:24.33 of the order of Melchizedek, 00:39:24.36\00:39:25.99 and the difference between him and Jesus Christ." 00:39:26.06\00:39:28.90 This is from Sirius in Maryland. 00:39:28.93\00:39:31.27 In two minutes. 00:39:31.30\00:39:32.67 In Genesis 14, 00:39:32.70\00:39:34.04 we are first introduced to Melchizedek. 00:39:34.07\00:39:37.04 He is the king of Salem. 00:39:37.07\00:39:40.61 He comes out, 00:39:40.64\00:39:41.98 he meets Abraham 00:39:42.01\00:39:43.38 who's coming back from a victory, 00:39:43.41\00:39:45.95 victorious war battle. 00:39:45.98\00:39:47.98 He blesses Abraham. 00:39:48.02\00:39:50.09 Abraham pays him a tenth of all his war booty. 00:39:50.12\00:39:55.09 Beside that one place in Genesis, 00:39:55.12\00:39:57.53 there's only one more time in the Old Testament 00:39:57.56\00:39:59.33 that he's mentioned and that's Psalm 110:4 00:39:59.36\00:40:02.26 where the psalmist says you are priest forever, 00:40:02.30\00:40:04.87 according to the order of Melchizedek. 00:40:04.90\00:40:08.00 Now, he's only mentioned in the New Testament 00:40:08.04\00:40:11.14 briefly in Hebrews 5 and then in Hebrews 7. 00:40:11.17\00:40:14.71 But the writer of Hebrews 00:40:14.74\00:40:16.95 only sees that 00:40:16.98\00:40:18.35 Jesus fits the Psalmist's description 00:40:18.38\00:40:21.05 as the priest of the order of Melchizedek. 00:40:21.08\00:40:24.09 Hebrews 7:2 says, 00:40:24.12\00:40:26.05 "Melchizedek was the king of righteousness, 00:40:26.09\00:40:28.39 the king of peace." 00:40:28.42\00:40:29.82 And by the way, he was, 00:40:29.86\00:40:31.36 this was the first time in the history of Israel 00:40:31.39\00:40:34.66 that a king simultaneously served as high priest. 00:40:34.73\00:40:39.60 So Melchizedek prefigured Christ. 00:40:39.63\00:40:44.17 He was a type of Christ. 00:40:44.21\00:40:47.14 And the writer of Hebrews draws significant parallels 00:40:47.18\00:40:51.15 between Melchizedek and Christ. 00:40:51.18\00:40:53.52 But Jesus is the ultimate King of righteousness, 00:40:53.55\00:40:56.55 the ultimate King of beast, and ideal high priest 00:40:56.58\00:41:00.79 who has sacrificed once for all. 00:41:00.82\00:41:04.76 In Hebrews 7:1-8, 00:41:04.79\00:41:06.83 this is where a lot of people 00:41:06.86\00:41:10.03 have a lot of funny ideas. 00:41:10.07\00:41:13.00 It says in verse 3, Hebrews 7:3, 00:41:13.03\00:41:16.71 that Melchizedek was without father, 00:41:16.74\00:41:18.74 without mother, without genealogy, 00:41:18.77\00:41:20.74 having no record of... 00:41:20.78\00:41:23.04 He had no record of ancestral line. 00:41:23.11\00:41:26.51 And, you know, the Jews were very careful, 00:41:26.58\00:41:28.62 especially the priest 00:41:28.65\00:41:30.09 about recording all of their... 00:41:30.12\00:41:33.89 I mean, he's their first priest, 00:41:33.92\00:41:35.99 but he is not of the Levitical order, 00:41:36.02\00:41:40.00 just as Jesus would not be of the Levitical order. 00:41:40.06\00:41:44.00 And my two minutes are up. 00:41:44.03\00:41:47.37 I fell like an auctioneer. 00:41:47.40\00:41:51.97 Well, we have one more question for Pastor Ryan Day, 00:41:52.01\00:41:55.64 "In the Garden of Eden, 00:41:55.68\00:41:57.55 Adam and Eve had free access to the tree of life. 00:41:57.58\00:42:02.05 Were there angels 00:42:02.08\00:42:03.49 that prevented Satan and his demons 00:42:03.52\00:42:04.85 from having access to the tree of life? 00:42:04.89\00:42:06.99 I know that after they left the garden paradise 00:42:07.02\00:42:09.59 that cherubims guarded the tree, 00:42:09.62\00:42:11.46 so they would not go back in to eat of it. 00:42:11.49\00:42:14.46 So my question deals with prior to them having, 00:42:14.46\00:42:17.57 prior to them leaving the Garden of Eden. 00:42:17.60\00:42:19.40 "This is from Devon. 00:42:19.47\00:42:21.47 Yeah, so, Devon, 00:42:21.50\00:42:23.17 this is actually a great question. 00:42:23.24\00:42:25.71 But it's a simple answer. 00:42:25.74\00:42:27.08 The Bible just simply does not say explicitly 00:42:27.11\00:42:29.68 how Satan was kept out of that garden. 00:42:29.71\00:42:31.91 But we know that he was, because obviously, 00:42:31.95\00:42:34.38 that was the garden of Paradise, 00:42:34.42\00:42:35.78 only those who have not sinned could be in that garden. 00:42:35.82\00:42:39.42 And so we know that for the same reason 00:42:39.49\00:42:41.72 that Satan was kicked out of the kingdom of heaven 00:42:41.76\00:42:44.56 and not been able to get access to, 00:42:44.59\00:42:47.86 you know, immortality, 00:42:47.86\00:42:49.56 we see that also Adam and Eve 00:42:49.60\00:42:51.30 kicked out of the garden because of sin. 00:42:51.33\00:42:53.57 The only way he was able to access Adam and Eve 00:42:53.60\00:42:55.80 was through that tree of knowledge of good and evil. 00:42:55.84\00:42:59.11 But obviously, he was not allowed access 00:42:59.17\00:43:00.94 to anywhere else in the garden, especially that tree of life 00:43:00.98\00:43:03.71 as to how he was kept out could have been angels, 00:43:03.75\00:43:06.45 could have been some spiritual hedge 00:43:06.48\00:43:07.82 of protection of some type, I don't know. 00:43:07.85\00:43:09.62 The Bible just simply does not say, 00:43:09.65\00:43:11.15 but we know he was kept out. 00:43:11.19\00:43:13.22 Actually, I have about a minute and 10 seconds here, 00:43:13.29\00:43:16.06 I want to go back and take the remaining time 00:43:16.09\00:43:18.09 and mention something really quickly 00:43:18.13\00:43:19.46 on one of my previous questions, 00:43:19.53\00:43:20.86 which was, 00:43:20.90\00:43:22.20 "Will the people who perished in the flood 00:43:22.23\00:43:23.93 be in heaven?" 00:43:23.97\00:43:25.30 I just want to say something quickly, 00:43:25.33\00:43:26.67 because I was thinking of this as I only had two minutes 00:43:26.74\00:43:28.80 to talk about that before. 00:43:28.84\00:43:30.21 But I just want to take the remaining time to say that 00:43:30.24\00:43:31.84 I feel like the reason 00:43:31.87\00:43:33.21 why a lot of people ask that question 00:43:33.27\00:43:34.94 is based on a passage in 1 Peter Chapter 3, 00:43:34.98\00:43:38.25 where, you know, it's seems to say 00:43:38.28\00:43:40.72 from some people's perspective that Jesus, 00:43:40.75\00:43:42.72 you know, He was crucified, He went down into hell, 00:43:42.78\00:43:46.45 and He preached to the spirits in prison, 00:43:46.49\00:43:48.59 who were once disobedient during the flood. 00:43:48.62\00:43:50.66 And it sounds like Jesus went down 00:43:50.69\00:43:52.69 into the depths of hellfire. 00:43:52.73\00:43:54.36 And He preached all those people that were, 00:43:54.40\00:43:56.03 you know, perished in the flood, 00:43:56.06\00:43:57.40 who were sent to hell. 00:43:57.43\00:43:58.77 That's just how people misinterpret that passage. 00:43:58.80\00:44:00.44 In fact, I want to encourage someone at home 00:44:00.47\00:44:02.00 to send in a question about that, 00:44:02.04\00:44:03.37 send in a question about 1 Peter 3:18-20 and 21, 00:44:03.44\00:44:08.41 asking about that, because we'd like to clarify that 00:44:08.44\00:44:10.48 more in the future 00:44:10.51\00:44:11.85 as to who are the spirits 00:44:11.88\00:44:13.21 and did Jesus really go into hell and all that? 00:44:13.25\00:44:15.55 That'd be a great question to address here 00:44:15.58\00:44:17.95 on the panel in the future. 00:44:17.99\00:44:19.65 I decided since I had a few more seconds, 00:44:19.69\00:44:21.56 I would take up the time since the first one 00:44:21.59\00:44:23.43 didn't really require much more than an answer of what I gave. 00:44:23.46\00:44:25.69 So thank you so much. 00:44:25.73\00:44:27.03 Very good. Thank you. 00:44:27.10\00:44:28.40 I like that. 00:44:28.43\00:44:29.76 Well, the challenge is out there, 00:44:29.83\00:44:31.17 whoever wants to send in that question. 00:44:31.20\00:44:33.10 Pastor Lomacang, this one is for you. 00:44:33.13\00:44:35.24 "I've been wondering why a lot is said in Acts 00:44:35.27\00:44:38.21 about Paul appealing to Caesar. 00:44:38.24\00:44:39.87 And then it's a major theme in the final chapters of Acts. 00:44:39.94\00:44:43.24 So the reader with great anticipation 00:44:43.31\00:44:45.18 reads forward to find out about the climax. 00:44:45.21\00:44:47.75 What is Paul going to say in front of Caesar, 00:44:47.78\00:44:50.35 but then nothing is said about Paul meeting Caesar. 00:44:50.39\00:44:53.72 I wonder why the end of Acts kind of fizzles out 00:44:53.76\00:44:56.69 in this respect and not and how Paul ends up 00:44:56.73\00:44:59.36 waiting for death in 2 Timothy." 00:44:59.39\00:45:02.53 This is from, 00:45:02.56\00:45:04.70 I think you say Yuka from Finland. 00:45:04.73\00:45:08.97 Okay. 00:45:09.00\00:45:10.37 Well, the story of Paul appealing to Caesar 00:45:10.41\00:45:12.77 had a two-fold purpose. 00:45:12.84\00:45:14.54 One, he was preventing the Jews 00:45:14.58\00:45:15.91 from carrying out the execution 00:45:15.94\00:45:17.35 because he was a Roman citizen. 00:45:17.38\00:45:19.35 If he had appealed to his Hebrew identity, 00:45:19.38\00:45:24.52 they could have carried out the sentence 00:45:24.55\00:45:26.05 of whatever they wanted to do to Paul. 00:45:26.12\00:45:28.22 But Paul says, I'm a citizen of Rome, 00:45:28.26\00:45:30.23 you can't do anything until I appealed to Caesar. 00:45:30.29\00:45:32.13 So they said, okay, you'd have been okay, 00:45:32.16\00:45:34.00 if you had not appealed to Caesar. 00:45:34.00\00:45:35.33 So Acts Chapter 27, 00:45:35.36\00:45:36.83 the focus of Acts 27 is not the purpose 00:45:36.90\00:45:39.27 of giving all the details 00:45:39.30\00:45:40.64 of what he's going to talk about 00:45:40.67\00:45:42.44 when he gets to Caesar. 00:45:42.47\00:45:44.44 Which brings me to this point, 00:45:44.47\00:45:46.34 the same that I've adopted throughout the years, 00:45:46.41\00:45:48.01 it's not what we become when we reach our destination, 00:45:48.04\00:45:50.71 but what we become in our journey, 00:45:50.75\00:45:53.48 and the journey is more powerful 00:45:53.55\00:45:55.62 than its destination, 00:45:55.65\00:45:57.02 because they never got to appeal to Caesar 00:45:57.05\00:45:59.15 the ship was broken up in the great storm, 00:45:59.19\00:46:01.66 that I did a sermon on this, a couple of sermons, 00:46:01.69\00:46:04.43 one called I believe God, 00:46:04.46\00:46:06.29 and the focal point of the story 00:46:06.36\00:46:07.73 of the appeal of Caesar to appeal of Paul to Caesar 00:46:07.76\00:46:12.60 was verse 25 of Acts Chapter 27. 00:46:12.63\00:46:16.44 This to me was the apex of the entire story. 00:46:16.47\00:46:20.14 Because while Paul is a prisoner in chains, 00:46:20.21\00:46:23.41 it's hard to believe a preacher that looks like 00:46:23.48\00:46:25.48 he's at a terrible disadvantage. 00:46:25.51\00:46:27.45 Paul said, 00:46:27.48\00:46:28.82 "Do not, do not take this journey, 00:46:28.85\00:46:31.55 I perceive, it'll result in a great loss of life." 00:46:31.59\00:46:36.06 But then later on, the Lord reveals to Paul that 00:46:36.09\00:46:38.53 nobody is going to lose their life. 00:46:38.56\00:46:40.43 But there are certain parameters, He said, 00:46:40.46\00:46:42.33 "Don't let anybody, don't let anybody get off board. 00:46:42.36\00:46:44.93 We're all necessary for the safety of others," 00:46:44.97\00:46:47.24 meaning we all need each other says, 00:46:47.27\00:46:49.60 "Lighten the ship 00:46:49.64\00:46:50.97 so that the storms could be more easy to handle." 00:46:51.01\00:46:54.11 That's what we have to do in the burdens of life 00:46:54.14\00:46:55.68 when they come, lighten the loads in our lives. 00:46:55.71\00:46:58.38 But then Paul said, "I believe God," 00:46:58.41\00:47:01.25 that means it's going to turn out 00:47:01.28\00:47:02.62 the way God said, 00:47:02.65\00:47:04.05 it's going to turn out in Acts 27:25. 00:47:04.09\00:47:06.49 He said, 00:47:06.52\00:47:07.86 "Therefore take heart men, 00:47:07.89\00:47:09.52 for I believe God 00:47:09.56\00:47:11.19 that it will be just as it was told me." 00:47:11.23\00:47:13.86 So the greater lesson in life is this. 00:47:13.90\00:47:16.87 Often while we are planning life, 00:47:16.90\00:47:19.40 life happens. 00:47:19.43\00:47:21.14 It is important to pay as much attention 00:47:21.17\00:47:22.80 to our journey, 00:47:22.84\00:47:24.34 as it is to desire our destination. 00:47:24.37\00:47:26.88 What happened to Paul in the journey 00:47:26.91\00:47:28.81 was a greater lesson 00:47:28.84\00:47:30.18 because he never made it to Rome 00:47:30.25\00:47:32.38 on that boat. 00:47:32.41\00:47:33.75 It broke up before they got to Caesar. 00:47:33.82\00:47:36.52 Okay. 00:47:36.58\00:47:37.92 I just want to say one thing, because to me, 00:47:37.95\00:47:40.36 I remember the first time I ever read Acts 00:47:40.39\00:47:42.52 when I was a teenager. 00:47:42.56\00:47:43.89 You know, Acts is the first, 00:47:43.93\00:47:45.26 the history of the first 30 years of the church. 00:47:45.29\00:47:48.06 And boy, you're just going along 00:47:48.10\00:47:49.93 and the Holy Spirit's doing 00:47:49.96\00:47:51.73 all of these wonderful things and everything's going, 00:47:51.77\00:47:54.90 then it just stops. 00:47:54.94\00:47:57.17 It's kind of like, well, what happens? 00:47:57.21\00:48:00.61 So I don't know 00:48:00.64\00:48:02.08 if there was something that interrupted, 00:48:02.11\00:48:04.18 but I understand your question. 00:48:04.21\00:48:19.23
