Well, welcome back to the second hour of a very exciting, very 00:00:10.74\00:00:15.24 informative, very engaging program, Lineage. 00:00:15.24\00:00:18.15 And if you missed the first hour, you're going to have to 00:00:18.35\00:00:22.08 catch it on the replay or a couple of days from now. 00:00:22.08\00:00:24.79 But we're talking about Lineage, a ministry that grew from a 00:00:24.99\00:00:29.99 fledgling idea to now more than 300 episodes. 00:00:29.99\00:00:33.40 And we have with us today, Adam... 00:00:33.90\00:00:36.43 Oh, the word blessing is probably... 00:00:36.43\00:00:39.17 It needs more letters. 00:00:39.17\00:00:40.47 Because this is just, it's transforming. 00:00:41.20\00:00:43.61 I mean, Adam... 00:00:44.57\00:00:47.64 Ramden. 00:00:47.64\00:00:48.21 Ramden. 00:00:48.48\00:00:49.04 And Clive Coutay. 00:00:49.51\00:00:50.51 That's right, yeah. 00:00:50.51\00:00:50.55 You know, that's just... 00:00:51.11\00:00:52.28 I worked so hard on remembering your name before I got his. 00:00:52.28\00:00:54.28 Do you both have families? 00:00:54.65\00:00:56.15 We do, yeah. 00:00:56.38\00:00:56.89 Tell us about them. 00:00:56.89\00:00:57.79 So I married 11 years ago this coming Sunday. 00:00:57.89\00:01:01.79 Oh, nice. 00:01:02.06\00:01:06.80 two, Enoch and Eden. 00:01:06.80\00:01:08.50 Oh, I like the name. 00:01:09.00\00:01:10.17 Yeah, they're here with me as well. 00:01:10.30\00:01:11.50 Oh, they're here? 00:01:11.57\00:01:12.00 Wonderful. 00:01:12.03\00:01:17.01 Okay. 00:01:17.27\00:01:20.58 Is she British? 00:01:20.74\00:01:21.34 She is, yes. 00:01:21.51\00:01:22.28 I think we met your wife. 00:01:22.38\00:01:23.18 Yes, she did meet my wife, yes. 00:01:23.21\00:01:24.78 So I have, my eldest is a daughter and then I have three 00:01:24.91\00:01:28.62 boys. Oh, nice. 00:01:28.95\00:01:29.82 Wonderful. 00:01:29.92\00:01:30.35 And so when you say your generation, you're a young man, 00:01:31.15\00:01:34.12 but you're a dad. 00:01:34.12\00:01:34.66 Yes. 00:01:34.66\00:01:35.22 He said it's his generation. 00:01:36.39\00:01:38.53 But thank you for contributing to the generations that need 00:01:40.10\00:01:43.90 this kind of media. 00:01:43.90\00:01:48.20 generations because it's pretty low every class. 00:01:48.20\00:01:50.71 It's phenomenal. 00:01:51.01\00:01:55.84 about the roots, not just Adventist roots, but the Bible 00:01:55.84\00:02:00.18 roots. Christian roots. 00:02:00.22\00:02:00.85 Christian roots, yeah, yeah. 00:02:00.85\00:02:02.25 Identity. 00:02:02.32\00:02:02.92 Identity. 00:02:03.42\00:02:07.76 lot of what you cover, like the book of Revelation is not an 00:02:07.76\00:02:10.36 Adventist book. 00:02:10.36\00:02:13.09 Have you received input from people of different walks of 00:02:13.46\00:02:16.77 life that have watched your series? 00:02:16.77\00:02:18.03 We do, and that's an interesting question because we do hear a 00:02:18.77\00:02:21.34 lot of people that watch lineage in churches or they watch it in 00:02:21.34\00:02:25.11 schools. 00:02:25.11\00:02:28.48 Adventists and so on. 00:02:28.48\00:02:35.92 maybe our immediate faith community. 00:02:35.92\00:02:37.19 One of them is a story that comes from California, actually, 00:02:37.29\00:02:40.59 and it's connected to 3 of them, but I'll let Clive share it 00:02:40.59\00:02:42.79 because he's the one who connected it. 00:02:42.79\00:02:44.93 Yeah, last time we came up on the show, I think it was 2019, 00:02:44.93\00:02:51.00 on the roll, we didn't have a personal, we didn't have a 00:02:51.00\00:02:54.14 ministry phone number. 00:02:54.14\00:02:54.84 So it was actually my personal number. 00:02:55.04\00:02:56.44 Oh, no. 00:02:57.11\00:03:00.91 a blessing. 00:03:00.91\00:03:05.68 was a side project back then. 00:03:05.68\00:03:08.05 And I got a phone call and it was, I picked up the phone, I 00:03:08.32\00:03:12.75 looked at the number first and I didn't quite recognize it and I 00:03:12.75\00:03:15.79 picked it up and it was a machine and the machine said, this is a collect call. 00:03:15.79\00:03:20.83 This person at this prison would like to speak to you. 00:03:21.83\00:03:26.70 I'm thinking in my head, I'm racking my brains and I'm like, 00:03:27.27\00:03:30.04 you know, I've not been in the U.S. 00:03:30.04\00:03:31.01 too long. 00:03:31.01\00:03:31.04 I don't really know anyone in prison. 00:03:32.31\00:03:33.81 If it was the U.K., I'd probably understand, but I don't really 00:03:33.84\00:03:36.58 know anyone in the U.S. 00:03:36.58\00:03:37.95 but I'll just take the call. 00:03:38.21\00:03:39.45 I took it and then it was a guy who picked up and he said, I'm 00:03:39.88\00:03:43.85 so-and -so in prison in California and we have really enjoyed watching your 00:03:43.85\00:03:49.39 show on 3ABN. 00:03:49.39\00:03:50.59 And I think something's happened with the schedule and we're no 00:03:51.36\00:03:54.83 longer able to watch it and I have a group of about 20 to 25 00:03:54.83\00:03:57.97 people who are studying the Bible and we were able to watch 00:03:57.97\00:04:01.87 your episodes. Would it be possible to donate some of your resources, some books, some 00:04:02.44\00:04:07.48 DVDs or your videos to the prison so that we're able to 00:04:07.48\00:04:12.85 continue studying it with the inmates? 00:04:12.85\00:04:13.82 They can watch it on demand. 00:04:14.32\00:04:15.95 They said there's about 60 people in the prison who don't 00:04:16.02\00:04:20.36 have anything to do and are looking for stuff to digest. 00:04:20.36\00:04:22.56 So he gave me the chaplain's phone number. 00:04:23.26\00:04:25.36 I contacted the chaplain and arranged for him to go to send 00:04:25.59\00:04:28.63 resources. 00:04:28.63\00:04:33.47 resources and then about two weeks later, the guy from the 00:04:33.47\00:04:37.21 prison called me back again and he said, we still haven't 00:04:37.21\00:04:39.41 received the items. 00:04:39.41\00:04:39.84 Did you send them? 00:04:39.91\00:04:40.54 And I was like, yeah, yeah, I sent them. 00:04:40.84\00:04:42.18 Another two weeks passed, he called me back again. 00:04:42.94\00:04:44.48 Did you send the items? 00:04:44.51\00:04:46.15 Like these guys were hungry for the word and I said, I sent them 00:04:46.18\00:04:52.32 and he said, I think they've gone missing somewhere and would 00:04:52.32\00:04:55.52 you be able to send them again? 00:04:55.52\00:05:01.00 comes forward again, you can call me back. 00:05:01.00\00:05:03.63 By the way, he only had two minute phone calls once a week 00:05:04.00\00:05:08.90 and he was using them on me. 00:05:08.90\00:05:10.14 And just to get these resources. 00:05:10.77\00:05:12.57 So eventually he called me really excited saying, we got 00:05:13.38\00:05:15.91 the resources, they cleared. 00:05:15.91\00:05:17.18 Because I think when you send a package to the prison, they have 00:05:17.25\00:05:20.12 to be checked and all the content has to be checked. 00:05:20.12\00:05:22.55 And, you know, I'm guessing the guards would have to watch some 00:05:22.98\00:05:25.05 of that stuff as well. 00:05:25.05\00:05:29.26 he was just so praising the Lord that he was able to find this 00:05:29.26\00:05:32.03 content, study through the Great Controversy, study through some 00:05:32.03\00:05:34.86 of the Reformation, Adventist history, and all started by him 00:05:34.86\00:05:39.17 watching or somehow in the prison being able to watch 3ABN. 00:05:39.17\00:05:41.40 And you know, you asked the question, you know, when did you 00:05:42.24\00:05:45.11 realize this came big? 00:05:45.11\00:05:46.31 For me, it's when I hear stories like that. 00:05:47.28\00:05:49.34 Because it's like, you know, here at 3ABN, you know this as 00:05:49.34\00:05:49.38 well. You have no idea how far the media can go. 00:05:53.38\00:05:55.85 You know, you have no idea who's home or what YouTube channel or 00:05:55.85\00:05:55.88 a prison or what country. 00:06:01.16\00:06:02.46 You know, the work you do is almost a thankless job because 00:06:02.99\00:06:05.96 you don't know, but those stories are really what fire us 00:06:05.96\00:06:08.96 and keep us going. When we meet people in our travels, we just kind of funny story out 00:06:09.93\00:06:15.00 kind of along the same lines we were in Jamaica recently and we 00:06:15.00\00:06:19.87 were in a place called Wyes Falls, which is very inland 00:06:19.87\00:06:23.18 falls. And we're coming down the falls, my wife and her sister 00:06:23.61\00:06:26.78 are ahead of us and of other people. 00:06:26.78\00:06:28.05 All of a sudden this guy says, oh my, what are you doing here? 00:06:28.45\00:06:32.02 And I thought, he caught me off guard. 00:06:32.25\00:06:35.39 He said, I watch you all the time on 3ABN. 00:06:35.59\00:06:37.83 What are you doing here in Jamaica? 00:06:37.89\00:06:39.29 And you realize we are inland in Jamaica, up in the mountains at 00:06:39.96\00:06:44.07 Wyes Falls. 00:06:44.07\00:06:44.77 And you realize even among the young people, because a lot of 00:06:45.33\00:06:50.24 times you would say, well, you know, 3ABN is for a certain age 00:06:50.24\00:06:53.07 group, but not everybody watches it. 00:06:53.07\00:06:54.48 This guy had to be about 15 or 16 years old. 00:06:54.48\00:06:56.75 He said, wait, wait, wait, can I take a picture with you? 00:06:56.88\00:06:58.61 And he's soaking wet. 00:06:58.61\00:06:59.48 And he says, Cameron, you realize it's getting everywhere. 00:06:59.78\00:07:02.45 And we travel around the world and the stories are that way. 00:07:02.45\00:07:02.48 And that's why lineage, going through the window of 3ABN, as a 00:07:04.89\00:07:08.92 matter of fact, kind of go back. 00:07:08.92\00:07:10.59 When did you connect with 3ABN and remember having your 00:07:10.69\00:07:15.70 programs started to be seen through 3ABN? 00:07:15.70\00:07:18.23 2018 and 19, I think it was around then, I think that we had 00:07:18.40\00:07:21.07 a first interview on 3ABN. 00:07:21.07\00:07:22.20 I think it was 2018, the first interview on 3ABN, but another 00:07:22.47\00:07:24.97 one in 2019. 00:07:24.97\00:07:26.01 And I think 3ABN started showing around that time as well, 00:07:26.54\00:07:30.11 broadcasting the episodes back then. 00:07:30.51\00:07:32.88 So we've been really blessed by, you know, 3ABN showing the 00:07:33.08\00:07:38.45 episodes and the breadth of that. 00:07:38.45\00:07:41.42 Yeah, great coverage. 00:07:41.86\00:07:44.86 And yeah, I mean, back to your other questions about, you know, 00:07:45.99\00:07:48.60 it going outside. 00:07:48.60\00:07:49.13 There's another story as well. 00:07:49.30\00:07:50.33 Yes, yes. 00:07:50.53\00:07:50.87 Well, there's a couple of them actually. 00:07:51.47\00:07:52.67 I'll just share one of them. 00:07:52.67\00:07:54.34 And that is, we know a lot of Christian schools or a lot of 00:07:54.60\00:08:01.34 our own church schools show the episodes whether, you know, we 00:08:01.34\00:08:05.18 have friends who are teachers and they use those episodes in 00:08:05.18\00:08:08.58 the class. But it's happened five times that it's come to me. 00:08:08.98\00:08:12.92 I've been in England where I've been approached three times in 00:08:12.99\00:08:17.46 churches. 00:08:17.46\00:08:21.96 and as they're there in the public school, the teachers have 00:08:21.96\00:08:26.77 used lineage in the classroom, religion class or history class, 00:08:26.77\00:08:30.54 in a public school. 00:08:30.54\00:08:31.07 And then just, it was last year as well, one of our team members 00:08:31.87\00:08:34.88 in Australia, she goes to church and two girls came to church on 00:08:34.88\00:08:38.88 Sabbath. 00:08:38.88\00:08:42.15 Anglican school, Adventist girls, but one goes to an 00:08:42.15\00:08:44.85 Anglican or Episcopalian, as they say here, school. 00:08:44.85\00:08:46.32 One goes to a Catholic school and they came to her and said, 00:08:46.62\00:08:48.86 Hey Suki, the teachers are using lineage in our class curriculum. 00:08:48.86\00:08:52.96 She's like, oh really, did you tell the teacher about it? 00:08:53.50\00:08:56.73 Like, you know, you told the teacher. 00:08:57.17\00:08:58.20 She said, no, we didn't tell the teacher anything. 00:08:58.47\00:08:59.80 The teacher found the resources online and put it in the class 00:09:00.07\00:09:04.14 curriculum. 00:09:04.14\00:09:07.51 student is in the class who knows one of us and comes and 00:09:07.51\00:09:10.45 tells us. So we think that maybe it's happening more than that, 00:09:11.11\00:09:14.62 but we just don't know because they don't tell us. 00:09:14.62\00:09:16.48 So we don't know. 00:09:16.48\00:09:17.55 We did some work on our website, trying to optimize the back end 00:09:17.85\00:09:20.76 and... 00:09:20.76\00:09:21.82 You have a wonderful website. 00:09:21.82\00:09:23.12 ...help to rank higher on the Google searches and I think that 00:09:23.43\00:09:26.53 has helped out with people, teachers and looking for 00:09:26.53\00:09:30.50 resources can find it. 00:09:30.50\00:09:31.27 So schools... 00:09:31.47\00:09:35.27 then a teacher can easily just slip it into a class. 00:09:35.27\00:09:38.41 It doesn't change the complete dynamics of the lesson plan. 00:09:38.67\00:09:43.08 But speaking to that, that's why maintaining the legitimacy of 00:09:44.38\00:09:49.78 the chronology of the events that are taking place, the 00:09:49.78\00:09:52.62 pictures, the locations, and that's another bit of time because when you start 00:09:52.62\00:09:55.99 looking at, okay, we're going to be going to this particular 00:09:55.99\00:09:59.36 location, what historical credibility can we add, can we maintain in finding 00:09:59.73\00:10:04.50 dates because people check it out. 00:10:04.50\00:10:05.90 They do. 00:10:05.90\00:10:09.67 date. 00:10:09.67\00:10:09.84 And so thank you for that. 00:10:10.44\00:10:12.31 That I know is just the accuracy. 00:10:12.54\00:10:14.81 The fact checking. 00:10:15.14\00:10:19.08 through the spirit of prophecy in the Bible and you can kind of 00:10:19.08\00:10:22.45 know what took place. 00:10:22.45\00:10:23.79 And then you're reading the artifacts in this actual 00:10:23.82\00:10:26.19 location. You're like, well, that's not quite how it 00:10:26.32\00:10:28.36 happened. You know, this has been transformed to being 00:10:28.92\00:10:31.23 something that was Protestant to almost something that was 00:10:31.23\00:10:33.73 Catholic. So, you know, it really helps to have all the 00:10:34.83\00:10:37.93 book references to have all those things, all the photos, the videos and really 00:10:37.93\00:10:40.94 transport people to those locations. 00:10:40.94\00:10:42.44 Okay, well, here's somebody. 00:10:43.24\00:10:45.84 I think this is a question. 00:10:47.44\00:10:48.71 This is Mark. 00:10:48.78\00:10:49.61 He says, the lineage team is fantastic. 00:10:49.94\00:10:53.58 I love your programs. 00:10:54.12\00:10:55.68 Please provide a program, okay, on the origin of the term 00:10:56.28\00:11:01.99 Shekinah used by Ellen White. 00:11:02.49\00:11:03.89 And then he wrote, bless you in Jesus' name, Mark. 00:11:04.69\00:11:07.36 The Shekinah, that's interesting. 00:11:07.66\00:11:09.46 The Shekinah glory, yeah. 00:11:09.46\00:11:11.07 No, maybe we can do that sometime. 00:11:11.07\00:11:12.57 Thank you, Mark. 00:11:13.17\00:11:13.70 Yeah, thanks, Mark. 00:11:13.87\00:11:14.54 So now talk about some of the resources because we want to 00:11:15.60\00:11:18.31 talk about some of the books that you have. 00:11:18.31\00:11:19.81 Sure, so we have a few, probably as lineage, we've made three of 00:11:20.48\00:11:24.28 our own and then one of our team members has also written two 00:11:24.28\00:11:26.38 that we distribute as well. 00:11:26.38\00:11:27.35 So the three we've made are two educational coloring books, 00:11:27.72\00:11:33.12 which one of our team members who is an illustrator drew all 00:11:33.12\00:11:35.62 the... It's on your website? 00:11:35.62\00:11:36.39 It's on the website, yeah. 00:11:36.56\00:11:37.23 Do we have a graphic of that? 00:11:37.23\00:11:38.26 No, not the coloring book. 00:11:38.86\00:11:40.33 So each page is the original artwork, then there's a write-up 00:11:42.16\00:11:46.43 next to it, there's a fun fact, there's a QR code so when 00:11:46.43\00:11:49.64 they're coloring they can scan the code and go to the video 00:11:49.64\00:11:53.34 that connects with the story. 00:11:53.34\00:11:54.14 So we have a book on the Reformation history, we have a 00:11:54.64\00:11:56.68 book on Adventism. 00:11:56.68\00:11:57.65 They're not thick, they're just thin. 00:11:57.81\00:11:59.18 Coloring books for, I won't say children, but for people, anyone 00:11:59.35\00:12:03.35 who wants to draw. 00:12:03.35\00:12:04.15 So they're educational coloring books. 00:12:04.85\00:12:06.69 Then we have another book called Bringers of the Dawn. 00:12:06.69\00:12:06.72 This one we released in 2021, I think, and that book is like a 00:12:09.09\00:12:16.43 study guide. 00:12:16.43\00:12:21.80 the Reformation. 00:12:21.80\00:12:22.40 There's 48 or 49 chapters in that book. 00:12:23.37\00:12:26.34 Each chapter is about three or five pages long. 00:12:26.81\00:12:28.94 There's pictures in there, original pictures that we've 00:12:29.11\00:12:31.41 taken. And at the end of each chapter, there's about five 00:12:31.58\00:12:34.62 questions that are discussion or reflection questions. 00:12:34.62\00:12:36.58 And then there's also a QR code that you can scan that will take 00:12:36.99\00:12:39.75 you to the video. 00:12:39.75\00:12:40.46 Originally, we made this book as a digital resource. 00:12:40.82\00:12:44.33 It's on the Apple iBook store, and you can download an iBook on 00:12:44.43\00:12:48.96 there. But then we put it into print form, and it's... 00:12:49.23\00:12:54.14 We have a graphic of that one. 00:12:54.14\00:12:55.44 Okay, let's bring the graphic up. 00:12:55.50\00:12:56.60 Yeah, we have a graphic of that one. 00:12:56.77\00:12:57.67 I kind of wanted to touch... 00:12:57.77\00:12:58.91 Oh, here it is. 00:12:58.91\00:12:59.41 Oh, Bringers of the Dawn. 00:13:00.44\00:13:01.74 Bringers of the Dawn, okay. 00:13:01.78\00:13:02.98 Oh, there's books. 00:13:03.28\00:13:04.45 So it's in four. 00:13:04.81\00:13:05.81 Okay, that's the book itself standing on the... 00:13:05.85\00:13:08.12 Yeah, just one single book. 00:13:08.12\00:13:09.82 Okay. 00:13:10.29\00:13:10.65 Oh, look at that. 00:13:10.79\00:13:11.49 And that's another expense. 00:13:11.65\00:13:13.56 We're going to talk about that before the end of the program on 00:13:13.99\00:13:16.39 how you could support this ministry. 00:13:16.39\00:13:17.76 Because to say that support is a worthy factor for what you do is 00:13:18.73\00:13:23.40 an understatement. 00:13:23.40\00:13:24.07 And we know it takes... 00:13:24.60\00:13:26.00 The maintenance of equipment, the updating of equipment, you 00:13:26.00\00:13:29.04 know, laptops, they come out really fast, and after a while, 00:13:29.20\00:13:33.94 technology just morphs the sizes into say, well, we need more 00:13:33.94\00:13:36.98 RAM, we need newer lenses, something needs to be updated. 00:13:36.98\00:13:38.78 And so just kind of give us an overview of how this is 00:13:39.51\00:13:44.52 maintained, I mean, maintenance, because as you mentioned earlier 00:13:44.62\00:13:48.22 in the program, it's expensive, and the team has never been in the same location at 00:13:49.12\00:13:53.63 the same time. 00:13:53.63\00:13:54.23 It's nice if we could. 00:13:54.60\00:13:55.30 Where do you... 00:13:56.33\00:13:59.57 own... 00:13:59.57\00:14:00.10 Training session. 00:14:00.10\00:14:03.61 us at 3ABN and we're going to have a meeting. 00:14:03.61\00:14:05.44 Yeah, that would be nice, yeah. 00:14:05.44\00:14:06.41 But talk about where does... 00:14:06.57\00:14:09.01 Where does all the equipment house? 00:14:09.01\00:14:11.18 I mean, how is it when you get together to do a shoot? 00:14:11.18\00:14:11.21 Okay, bring this and you bring that. 00:14:14.12\00:14:15.55 So most of the video stuff would probably be with myself. 00:14:15.78\00:14:18.79 Our other team member, Jasper, he has his own stuff as well. 00:14:19.25\00:14:22.56 So just in case I'm not able to make a shoot, for some reason, 00:14:22.59\00:14:25.69 Jasper can go with Adam and do it. 00:14:25.76\00:14:27.60 Our photographer has all his own gear. 00:14:28.00\00:14:29.66 It's interesting because when we started this ministry, there was 00:14:29.83\00:14:33.27 no money involved. 00:14:33.27\00:14:35.97 just volunteering their time. 00:14:35.97\00:14:37.21 They're volunteering their mics, their cameras, their photography 00:14:37.61\00:14:40.18 equipment. 00:14:40.18\00:14:43.14 But over time, as the Lord has blessed, we've able to build 00:14:43.61\00:14:45.88 some things up for the ministry. 00:14:45.88\00:14:47.05 But a lot of that is now located in California where I live 00:14:47.48\00:14:53.69 because of I'm the person editing and I'm doing a lot of the filming as well. 00:14:53.69\00:14:57.46 But it kind of varies on what we have. 00:14:57.69\00:14:59.43 You're full time doing this. 00:14:59.63\00:15:01.10 Yeah, so as of this year, as of June 2024, I went full time. 00:15:01.10\00:15:06.13 Adam went full time last year, three quarter time, January last 00:15:07.04\00:15:11.94 year. 00:15:11.94\00:15:16.31 voluntary into full time. 00:15:16.31\00:15:18.58 And obviously that takes a lot more resources, kind of a step 00:15:18.71\00:15:22.35 out in faith. 00:15:22.35\00:15:26.02 get to this point. 00:15:26.02\00:15:29.96 And everyone has been doing it in their own time. 00:15:29.96\00:15:32.76 So all of us have got, most of us have got families and 00:15:33.06\00:15:36.63 children and other jobs and other commitments and just taking time to do this on 00:15:36.63\00:15:40.64 the side to get it to this point. 00:15:40.64\00:15:42.20 And then at one point it gets so big where you're like, okay, we 00:15:42.60\00:15:45.71 can't keep doing two things. 00:15:45.71\00:15:47.21 We have to focus our attention. 00:15:47.41\00:15:48.81 I think that's the stage we're moving towards right now. 00:15:48.91\00:15:51.18 Is it 501C3? 00:15:51.31\00:15:52.55 Yeah, so we're fully 501C3 nonprofit in the U.S. 00:15:52.85\00:15:56.25 So we can issue tax deductible receipts to anybody. 00:15:56.25\00:15:56.28 Wonderful, wonderful, that's going to be good because there 00:15:58.72\00:16:00.89 are people that are saying, man, that's just so many of these 00:16:00.89\00:16:03.86 episodes. We've got to get the other 299 and the continuations 00:16:04.16\00:16:07.66 of it. And we're going to talk about the website there also. 00:16:07.66\00:16:10.27 But now we want to look at a little bit about something that 00:16:10.60\00:16:13.57 is very relevant to today, Liberty of Conscience 00:16:13.57\00:16:15.57 Threatened. We have like an 8 minute video. 00:16:15.60\00:16:17.04 We're going to look at some of that. 00:16:17.14\00:16:18.24 But just kind of talk about that a little bit because sometimes 00:16:18.51\00:16:22.11 people don't know about what that is, Liberty of Conscience 00:16:22.11\00:16:24.41 Threatened. That video is part of our great controversy series. 00:16:24.71\00:16:27.02 It's chapter 35, I believe, in the book, The Controversy of 00:16:27.02\00:16:30.12 Liberty of Conscience Threatened. 00:16:30.12\00:16:31.15 And like you say, it's a very relevant issue right now. 00:16:31.85\00:16:35.26 As it's right now here in the United States, worldwide. 00:16:35.89\00:16:40.33 These are pertinent issues. 00:16:40.96\00:16:42.66 And so that chapter in particular, we wanted to make 00:16:42.90\00:16:45.63 sure that that chapter was filmed as good as we could. 00:16:45.63\00:16:48.37 We filmed part of that on location in Rome and we filmed 00:16:48.60\00:16:52.51 part of that on location in Washington, D.C. 00:16:52.51\00:16:54.84 Outside the Congress, outside the Supreme Court, buildings 00:16:54.84\00:16:59.95 that, what takes place there may have an impact in the future. 00:16:59.95\00:17:02.88 And so that episode I think is very pertinent and that actually 00:17:03.08\00:17:09.62 may play partly into what we may be doing in the future in terms 00:17:09.62\00:17:13.80 of our future plans. 00:17:13.80\00:17:18.13 of Religious Liberty and how it's developed over time. 00:17:18.13\00:17:22.07 Not just in the U.S. 00:17:22.57\00:17:23.61 but kind of around the world. 00:17:23.74\00:17:25.07 Around the world. 00:17:25.77\00:17:26.17 So it's in Washington, D.C. 00:17:26.68\00:17:29.21 and where else? 00:17:29.28\00:17:30.08 We filmed in Washington and Rome. 00:17:30.08\00:17:30.11 In Rome. 00:17:32.81\00:17:33.05 I want to get a chance to look at it. 00:17:33.88\00:17:35.45 If we don't look at the whole thing, we're going to look at 00:17:35.45\00:17:37.35 the greater part of it. 00:17:37.35\00:17:38.19 I think, and as Adam stated and Clive stated, this is an issue 00:17:38.59\00:17:42.62 today that is challenging the world very much here in the 00:17:42.62\00:17:46.16 United States. 00:17:46.16\00:17:46.76 Liberty of Conscience Threatened. 00:17:47.00\00:17:48.06 Check it out. 00:17:48.40\00:17:49.13 During the 16th century, the Protestant Reformation made 00:18:11.32\00:18:15.59 great strides in various countries in Europe, such as 00:18:15.59\00:18:19.29 Germany, Switzerland, England, Scotland and across Scandinavia. 00:18:19.76\00:18:23.10 But here in France, it struggled to get going. 00:18:23.30\00:18:26.10 There were great reformers who were French, such as John 00:18:26.70\00:18:30.97 Caldron, but by and large, the Catholic Church was able to stay 00:18:30.97\00:18:34.71 as the dominant power. 00:18:34.71\00:18:40.12 persecuted. 00:18:40.12\00:18:46.05 thousands of Protestants were killed. 00:18:46.05\00:18:48.69 Throughout the early 1700s, Europe's economy expanded, which 00:18:54.20\00:18:59.00 also led to population growth, with it almost doubling during 00:18:59.00\00:19:03.41 this time. 00:19:03.41\00:19:08.91 meaning it was the largest and most populated country in Europe 00:19:09.11\00:19:13.25 at the time. 00:19:13.25\00:19:18.42 There were several factors to these. 00:19:18.92\00:19:20.66 Among them was a crop failure and also a financial drain from 00:19:20.82\00:19:25.16 France's heavy and prolonged involvement in the American 00:19:25.16\00:19:28.66 Revolution. 00:19:28.66\00:19:29.33 Another contributing factor was the departure of the Huguenots 00:19:35.80\00:19:40.04 in 1685, after many of their rights as citizens were taken 00:19:40.31\00:19:43.51 away. These persecuted Protestants contributed significantly to the 00:19:43.51\00:19:47.72 economy, and their absence was a huge loss. 00:19:47.72\00:19:50.59 At the time, Protestants and Jews were denied full state 00:19:51.22\00:19:54.79 rights. Unemployment was also at an all -time high, and the gap 00:19:55.02\00:19:58.96 between the rich and the poor continued to widen. 00:19:58.96\00:20:01.30 Distrust in the church was also very high, and with a huge 00:20:02.10\00:20:05.37 disparity between the classes, it eventually exploded into a 00:20:05.37\00:20:09.77 full-on revolt against all those in authority. 00:20:09.77\00:20:12.17 Both the ruling classes and also those in religious authority. 00:20:12.17\00:20:16.88 The Age of Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution led by men 00:20:27.99\00:20:32.39 like Voltaire, Descartes and Rousseau, among others, led to a 00:20:32.39\00:20:36.36 suspicion of the church and distrust in religion in general. 00:20:36.36\00:20:40.34 This was because France, more than any other country during 00:20:40.84\00:20:44.21 the Reformation, was able to suppress the reading of the 00:20:44.21\00:20:47.88 Bible. The Catholic Church retained a stranglehold on French society that 00:20:47.88\00:20:52.48 the Reformation never had the chance to break. 00:20:52.48\00:20:55.32 The suppression of the Bible in France during the French 00:21:01.29\00:21:04.69 Revolution was prophesied in Revelation, Chapter 11, which 00:21:04.69\00:21:08.53 says that the two witnesses, which contextually are the Old and New Testament, would be 00:21:08.53\00:21:12.70 clothed in sackcloth, a reference to the Bible being 00:21:12.70\00:21:17.04 sidelined and disregarded. 00:21:17.04\00:21:18.24 Revelation 11 goes on to say that a beast would ascend out of 00:21:18.44\00:21:22.24 the bottomless pit. 00:21:22.24\00:21:23.11 In Bible prophecy, a beast means a nation or a kingdom, and this 00:21:23.85\00:21:28.22 one would arise at the end of the 1260 -year prophecy around 00:21:28.22\00:21:32.92 the year 1798. 00:21:32.92\00:21:34.19 Revelation 11 goes on to say that the great city is 00:21:34.76\00:21:39.03 spiritually called Sodom and Egypt. 00:21:39.03\00:21:41.23 Egypt is a common reference to atheism in the Bible, for no 00:21:47.00\00:21:50.64 other nation so blatantly defied God. 00:21:50.64\00:21:52.77 Exodus 5 verse 2 says, Who is Jehovah that I should obey him? 00:21:52.77\00:21:57.41 Sodom is a common reference to sexual immorality. 00:21:57.81\00:22:00.62 We see both of these characteristics come to pass 00:22:01.02\00:22:03.95 here in France when starting in 1793, for the first time an 00:22:03.95\00:22:08.92 assembly of educated men governing one of the largest nations in Europe, sitting 00:22:08.92\00:22:12.86 in the building behind me, unanimously renounced belief and 00:22:12.86\00:22:17.07 worship of a deity. 00:22:17.07\00:22:18.30 Every nation has had their fair share of atheists, but France 00:22:19.07\00:22:22.67 stands alone as a state which declared there is no God. 00:22:22.67\00:22:26.61 Wow, that is amazing. 00:22:33.18\00:22:34.72 We're looking at the segue of history. 00:22:34.92\00:22:37.09 Talk about how that great controversy has broken up. 00:22:37.65\00:22:40.52 That's a good point, because those who have read the book 00:22:40.52\00:22:43.12 Great Controversy, it's kind of split into two halves. 00:22:43.12\00:22:45.79 You've got the first 20 chapters that are historical. 00:22:46.03\00:22:48.96 It talks about Luther, the Wadenties and so on. 00:22:48.96\00:22:51.23 And you've got the second half that are to talk about doctrinal 00:22:51.23\00:22:54.94 issues and also future prophecy. 00:22:54.94\00:22:56.20 And you may wonder why are there kind of two halves to the book 00:22:56.71\00:22:59.41 Great Controversy. 00:22:59.41\00:23:00.51 Why is one half past and one half is kind of future? 00:23:00.61\00:23:03.38 And I believe the reason is this, because it does talk about 00:23:03.58\00:23:06.92 in the book Great Controversy about the end of time, how 00:23:06.92\00:23:09.98 liberty of conscience will be threatened, how there will be 00:23:09.98\00:23:13.69 time of trouble or the Christians will go through a 00:23:13.69\00:23:15.16 crisis. It explains all of that. 00:23:15.32\00:23:16.73 And as you read those latter chapters you can probably wonder 00:23:16.79\00:23:19.73 how will I live? 00:23:19.73\00:23:21.56 How will I survive during that time period? 00:23:22.00\00:23:24.90 Well, you can find the answer right in the book because you 00:23:25.47\00:23:28.67 can go back to the early chapters with the historical ones and say, Ah, these 00:23:28.67\00:23:32.31 Christians lived during the time when liberty of conscience was 00:23:32.31\00:23:35.78 threatened. 00:23:35.78\00:23:36.28 This is how they lived and this is how... 00:23:37.38\00:23:39.08 But not just what they did, this is more importantly how God 00:23:39.08\00:23:42.52 protected them. 00:23:42.52\00:23:42.88 This is how God led them. 00:23:43.28\00:23:44.59 This is how God orchestrated their journey. 00:23:44.75\00:23:47.49 So the first half is really case studies of how God led his 00:23:47.62\00:23:52.33 people during a time when liberty of conscience was 00:23:52.33\00:23:55.63 threatened. And then the later chapters are describing the 00:23:56.06\00:24:00.10 future scenario of how will live. 00:24:00.10\00:24:00.87 And so to me that's kind of how the book Great Controversy comes 00:24:01.50\00:24:04.87 to the fore. 00:24:04.87\00:24:08.51 a snippet of the French Revolution and French Reformation which was 00:24:08.51\00:24:12.41 very significant to the segue of where the unfolding of the 00:24:12.41\00:24:17.02 future things kind of laying the groundwork for the liberty of 00:24:17.02\00:24:20.82 conscience that's threatened. 00:24:20.82\00:24:21.86 When you think about the French Revolution, we've read about 00:24:22.59\00:24:25.09 that and it's just a time where there was a great attempt to get 00:24:25.09\00:24:29.86 rid of it and extinguish God's Word, just burn it in the 00:24:29.86\00:24:34.00 streets. And we can see that happening in society again 00:24:34.24\00:24:36.37 today. So certainly maybe not as openly aggressive as that but 00:24:36.37\00:24:41.58 there's been a... 00:24:41.58\00:24:42.31 A covert shift. 00:24:42.31\00:24:43.58 Rather underlying but obvious, we see. 00:24:47.82\00:24:51.02 But now on the issue of liberty of conscience threatened. 00:24:51.42\00:24:53.46 We want to go to that video now because for those of you in 00:24:53.59\00:24:57.53 America and even in different parts of the world you may be in 00:24:57.53\00:25:01.73 a society where we travel quite a bit and some of the things we 00:25:01.73\00:25:04.33 can say in America you can't say around the world. 00:25:04.33\00:25:05.60 You can't say political things around the world like you can in 00:25:05.97\00:25:08.67 America. 00:25:08.67\00:25:11.64 starting to get to the place where you can't say things here 00:25:11.64\00:25:13.81 either. Because what you believe and what you can say is being 00:25:14.28\00:25:17.51 challenged. And this is what this video is about. 00:25:17.61\00:25:19.35 Liberty of conscience threat. 00:25:19.35\00:25:20.82 Liberty of conscience is something to be treasured for 00:25:38.13\00:25:41.77 the opposite is always tyranny. 00:25:41.77\00:25:43.04 Any time in history within a given nation or region that 00:25:43.37\00:25:47.21 church and state have combined forces it has always led to a 00:25:47.21\00:25:50.68 decline in religious liberty and the freedom for individuals to 00:25:50.68\00:25:54.12 act according as their conscience guides them. 00:25:54.12\00:25:55.52 In this chapter we look at the history of this subject from the 00:25:55.82\00:25:59.09 Dark Ages through to the Reformation and how even today 00:25:59.09\00:26:02.72 it's at threat and perhaps more so than ever before. 00:26:02.72\00:26:05.49 At the heart of the great controversy is the freedom to 00:26:05.89\00:26:08.56 worship, to love him freely and yet as time draws to a close 00:26:08.56\00:26:13.07 these rights will be unceremoniously stripped away. 00:26:13.07\00:26:15.90 The Constitution of the United States guaranteed liberty of 00:26:23.95\00:26:28.22 conscience and this is what made the United States unique as a 00:26:28.22\00:26:31.89 nation in that when it was formed these principles were 00:26:31.89\00:26:35.92 enshrined in the founding documents. 00:26:35.92\00:26:37.29 This was not something copied from Western Europe or any other 00:26:37.29\00:26:41.30 nation. Europe had in fact during the Dark Ages and the Reformation been under 00:26:41.76\00:26:45.63 the control of various religious persuasions that did not hold 00:26:45.63\00:26:49.97 this as a cherished value. 00:26:49.97\00:26:51.27 Roman Catholicism in the Middle Ages did not like any 00:26:59.58\00:27:03.15 competition and ruled supreme in most countries in Europe where the state was under 00:27:03.15\00:27:07.99 the influence and control of the church. 00:27:07.99\00:27:10.43 Those who opposed the dominant belief were marginalized and 00:27:10.99\00:27:14.93 often persecuted in an attempt to bring them into line. 00:27:14.93\00:27:18.20 Such a strategy is not like Christ. 00:27:18.70\00:27:21.17 He never forces anyone to worship and only accepts worship 00:27:21.50\00:27:26.24 that is freely given. 00:27:26.24\00:27:26.81 This caused a response and in the 16th century Europe 00:27:34.25\00:27:39.22 underwent a time of great upheaval and change. 00:27:39.22\00:27:41.59 Religious reformations in England, Scotland, Switzerland, 00:27:42.06\00:27:45.76 France, Germany, Sweden and Denmark changed the landscape of 00:27:46.03\00:27:50.00 those countries both in the spiritual sphere and also in 00:27:50.00\00:27:54.14 civil life. Each of these countries' reformations was 00:27:54.67\00:27:57.94 closely tied to political independence and while most of the change was good, some 00:27:57.94\00:28:02.38 things remained unchanged. 00:28:02.38\00:28:04.08 Even though these nations broke away from the rule of the Holy 00:28:04.55\00:28:08.42 Roman Empire, each church was often still influenced by the 00:28:08.42\00:28:12.95 state. Any time the church has sought the long arm of the state 00:28:20.46\00:28:25.47 for support, the end result has always seen religious legislation enforced. 00:28:25.77\00:28:29.80 Most significantly this took place in the early centuries 00:28:30.11\00:28:33.71 from the time of Constantine onwards as Sunday legislation 00:28:33.71\00:28:38.31 was gradually enforced. 00:28:38.31\00:28:43.59 superstition and false claims until it became widespread with 00:28:43.59\00:28:48.02 only small pockets of believers such as the Wardensians in 00:28:48.02\00:28:51.96 Europe or the Abyssinians in Ethiopia holding out. 00:28:51.96\00:28:54.56 The end result of both of these groups is a sad and painful one. 00:28:54.83\00:28:59.03 Revelation 13 outlines two beasts or two nations and we see 00:29:07.14\00:29:11.58 this fulfilled with the United States of America and also with 00:29:11.58\00:29:15.98 papal Rome. Papal Rome, it was prophesied, would receive a deadly wound and go 00:29:16.48\00:29:19.82 into captivity around 1798 and we see this fulfilled with the 00:29:19.82\00:29:24.33 capture of the pope and also more importantly, the stripping 00:29:24.33\00:29:27.40 of Rome's civil power. 00:29:27.40\00:29:28.43 It was prophesied though that the deadly wound would be healed 00:29:28.86\00:29:32.07 as Revelation 13 verse 3 says, all the world would wander after 00:29:32.07\00:29:36.50 the beast. As the U.S. 00:29:36.97\00:29:41.54 significance, the Bible outlines a time when she would unite with 00:29:41.54\00:29:45.81 Rome in forcing religious practices. 00:29:45.81\00:29:48.02 Today we can see liberty of conscience under threat, freedom 00:29:55.52\00:29:59.63 of speech and laws that protect it have slowly been eroded away. 00:29:59.63\00:30:03.40 We see this coming from both the overreach of government powers, 00:30:03.73\00:30:07.37 but also from the prevailing culture in society whereby it 00:30:07.37\00:30:11.44 lends itself to group think and cancel culture where anyone who 00:30:11.44\00:30:14.81 does not accept the view of the majority can be cut off. 00:30:14.81\00:30:17.78 May we fight for the preservation of liberty of conscience even while 00:30:18.18\00:30:22.05 we're seeing it eroded away but also remember that one day we'll 00:30:22.05\00:30:25.92 have to stand for what's right whilst the whole world is 00:30:25.92\00:30:28.89 against us. 00:30:28.89\00:30:33.76 Wow! 00:30:40.07\00:30:40.64 That was good. 00:30:41.04\00:30:45.17 That is a significant topic. 00:30:45.44\00:30:47.61 When you, and I know you pray over all the programs that you 00:30:47.81\00:30:53.15 tape, but just revisiting the whole idea of liberty of conscience threatened, 00:30:53.15\00:30:55.95 we see it all around the world. 00:30:55.95\00:30:57.15 It's a present issue. 00:30:57.49\00:30:58.55 I think the idea of other people thinking different to you and 00:30:58.82\00:31:04.56 you being okay with that increasingly in society, we're 00:31:04.56\00:31:07.13 not seeing that. I mean one of the modern things is cancel 00:31:07.23\00:31:08.96 culture. I just, I'll cancel you because you believe differently. 00:31:09.16\00:31:10.97 And this idea that we can't even engage with people that disagree 00:31:11.43\00:31:14.47 with us anymore and it's going to get worse and worse I think. 00:31:14.47\00:31:17.44 And we have to treasure the principle, the biblical 00:31:17.64\00:31:22.54 principle of freedom of where God gives us freedom and we give 00:31:22.54\00:31:26.58 freedom to other people as well. 00:31:26.58\00:31:27.62 Yeah, and there are certain topics that are just becoming 00:31:28.02\00:31:30.22 almost, there were hot issues, we used to call them hot issues 00:31:30.45\00:31:34.62 in the past, but now they're like hot topics, there you go. 00:31:34.79\00:31:36.86 But now it's like don't talk about that because you'll 00:31:37.09\00:31:40.53 instantly be ostracized and maligned unjustly. 00:31:40.53\00:31:43.50 And politically correct. 00:31:43.50\00:31:44.07 Right, and the whole thing about being politically correct. 00:31:44.67\00:31:47.30 You make a statement that's scripturally correct but all of 00:31:47.77\00:31:50.07 a sudden it's not politically correct. 00:31:50.07\00:31:51.17 It's like the cry against you is amazing. 00:31:51.37\00:31:54.81 Time to a living in. 00:31:54.81\00:31:56.41 Now let's talk about the Suki School in Australia. 00:31:56.98\00:32:01.15 Oh, I mentioned that story. 00:32:01.48\00:32:02.72 It did, he mentioned it. 00:32:02.72\00:32:02.75 That was the one about the... 00:32:03.79\00:32:05.32 Did I mention that? 00:32:05.32\00:32:05.82 Yeah, you did. 00:32:06.02\00:32:06.86 That was one of the students who kissed. 00:32:06.86\00:32:07.82 Oh, that miracle. 00:32:08.12\00:32:09.32 That's right. 00:32:09.66\00:32:09.69 Last year we were at a Christian festival. 00:32:10.93\00:32:14.76 It wasn't Adventist, it was just a Christian evangelical music 00:32:15.36\00:32:19.20 festival actually, it's called Big Church Day Out in England. 00:32:19.20\00:32:21.34 And so we thought let's go there, and broaden our reach 00:32:21.47\00:32:26.44 outside of our immediate community. 00:32:26.44\00:32:27.41 And we had some interesting stories there. 00:32:27.74\00:32:29.38 Some of the people who came up to the stand, one of them was 00:32:29.44\00:32:33.38 a... he was a former atheist who became a Christian through his 00:32:33.38\00:32:41.39 self-study. He then was given a book, Great Controversy by some 00:32:41.42\00:32:44.63 Adventists who were handing it out on the street in the city 00:32:44.63\00:32:47.03 that he was in. He read The Great Controversy, he was really deeply impacted by it, 00:32:47.60\00:32:51.33 and he passed it on to one of his friends, and then he decided 00:32:51.33\00:32:54.44 to go and study for the ministry in the Church of England, to be 00:32:54.44\00:32:57.31 a Church of England Reverend or Pastor. 00:32:57.31\00:32:59.57 And so then he was at this music festival and then he sees our 00:33:00.28\00:33:04.58 stand, but he didn't know about the book Great Controversy, but 00:33:04.58\00:33:06.65 he saw some of our T-shirts. 00:33:06.65\00:33:11.35 they nailed it and things like that. 00:33:11.49\00:33:12.92 He came over because of the T -shirts and then he saw the book 00:33:12.92\00:33:14.92 Great Controversy, he's like, oh, I've read this book. 00:33:14.92\00:33:17.66 And then he started talking with the team and they started 00:33:18.09\00:33:21.26 sharing about the Sabbath and sharing with him about that and 00:33:21.26\00:33:25.50 he was studying for the ministry and he said, oh, I'd love to 00:33:25.50\00:33:28.00 share this with my professors. 00:33:28.00\00:33:32.14 talk to them. 00:33:32.14\00:33:32.87 So it just enabled this opportunity for witnessing with 00:33:33.44\00:33:36.38 them and sharing with the professors. 00:33:36.38\00:33:37.28 Obviously they disagreed, but they got a chance to share about 00:33:37.71\00:33:41.62 the Sabbath with them. 00:33:41.62\00:33:45.49 study and, you know, just those doors open, opportunities for 00:33:45.49\00:33:49.66 conversations, for building relationships and questions and 00:33:49.66\00:33:52.79 seeing where the seeds may fall outside. 00:33:52.79\00:33:55.53 Amen, planting the seeds, I like that. 00:33:55.56\00:33:57.63 There's another quick story that we have where, you know, season 00:33:57.67\00:34:00.60 one was all about the Reformation and we kind of 00:34:00.60\00:34:03.41 continued the Reformation into Adventist history. 00:34:03.41\00:34:05.67 We had someone comment at the end of our season two, which is 00:34:06.14\00:34:09.18 Adventist history, she commented on the very last video and she 00:34:09.18\00:34:12.88 said, I actually started watching you guys in season one 00:34:12.88\00:34:17.35 and I was not an Adventist, I was just a Christian who was 00:34:17.35\00:34:19.82 seeking truth. She watched through all of season one on the Reformation and she was 00:34:20.22\00:34:23.59 like, well, I should continue watching season two. 00:34:23.59\00:34:25.76 So she went through Adventist history and she saw how 00:34:25.76\00:34:29.30 Adventist history came after the Reformation. 00:34:29.30\00:34:30.90 It was like a continual journey. 00:34:31.00\00:34:32.27 She ended up finding a local Adventist church and she ended 00:34:32.70\00:34:36.14 up getting baptized after study and she wrote the whole 00:34:36.14\00:34:39.34 testimony in one of our videos at the end. 00:34:39.34\00:34:40.58 And I thought that was powerful that, you know, the reason their 00:34:40.58\00:34:43.24 structure is that, is that people can go on this journey, 00:34:43.24\00:34:46.08 you know, every single week and just, you know, build upon one 00:34:46.08\00:34:49.65 story from another story and they're all connected and you 00:34:49.65\00:34:51.85 get to this point where you're like, wow, this is the true 00:34:51.85\00:34:53.46 church. Amen. 00:34:53.72\00:34:54.19 That's beautiful. 00:34:54.92\00:34:55.89 This is a question that goes with, okay, what we're talking 00:34:56.32\00:35:00.53 about. It says, this is from Michelle in Tennessee. 00:35:00.70\00:35:03.10 What were both of your thoughts when you filmed on Ascension 00:35:03.77\00:35:08.87 Rock? Also the filming of the field where Hiram Edson received 00:35:09.74\00:35:15.54 the most holy place vision. 00:35:15.54\00:35:16.48 So they want to know, what were your thoughts, both of you? 00:35:17.11\00:35:19.78 I let Adam go because I just had a baby so I missed that trip. 00:35:20.32\00:35:22.92 You've been to Ascension Rock. 00:35:23.72\00:35:27.39 probably... 00:35:27.39\00:35:28.22 It's a special place. 00:35:28.22\00:35:29.12 I've been there before that time. 00:35:29.36\00:35:30.66 It wasn't my first time when I filmed there. 00:35:30.79\00:35:32.86 But yeah, it holds a special place in Adventist history. 00:35:33.36\00:35:36.23 And you know, we're just, what, a few days past the 180th 00:35:36.90\00:35:40.47 anniversary of it. 00:35:40.47\00:35:44.44 And you read the stories of people weeping and crying for 00:35:44.51\00:35:49.11 days on end. But yet God had a purpose in that pain. 00:35:49.48\00:35:52.55 And he had an appointment with his people. 00:35:52.85\00:35:54.62 And so it was a special place to film. 00:35:54.75\00:35:56.22 It's one of my favorite places. 00:35:56.42\00:35:57.82 It's isolated. 00:35:58.22\00:35:59.19 It's in the countryside. 00:35:59.29\00:36:00.42 And you can just imagine, you try and imagine what it would 00:36:00.86\00:36:03.22 have been like to have that great hope. 00:36:03.22\00:36:05.13 And then the disappointment. 00:36:07.73\00:36:08.93 But then the words of Revelation 10 verse 11 that says, Thou must 00:36:08.93\00:36:12.93 prophesy again. 00:36:12.93\00:36:13.84 And those words echo to us today. 00:36:14.60\00:36:16.30 And really from when I stood there, I'm thinking of those 00:36:16.64\00:36:21.04 words, Thou must prophesy again. 00:36:21.04\00:36:22.68 And that's kind of the added impetus for us to keep doing 00:36:22.68\00:36:25.95 that today. 00:36:25.95\00:36:28.95 Tell the World. 00:36:29.18\00:36:29.72 Tell the World. 00:36:29.92\00:36:30.59 The Hopeful, yeah. 00:36:30.65\00:36:31.32 The Hopeful, that's called. 00:36:31.62\00:36:32.79 But yeah, this was 180 years, right? 00:36:33.22\00:36:37.69 Yeah, just yesterday or two days ago. 00:36:37.69\00:36:39.86 Two days ago. 00:36:39.96\00:36:44.60 And I'm walking through Adventist history. 00:36:45.47\00:36:47.50 The formation, I did a worship here at 3ABN on that just 00:36:47.87\00:36:52.21 Tuesday past. But it's interesting when you could follow your lineage. 00:36:52.61\00:36:55.61 When you could look at the path of how God leads and how he has 00:36:55.98\00:37:01.45 led and how he continues to lead. 00:37:01.45\00:37:02.65 It gives you confidence to say, for example, if you're driving 00:37:02.95\00:37:07.26 from here to California and you're looking at your map, you 00:37:07.26\00:37:10.66 say, well, I'm not sure that where we're headed is that direction, but based 00:37:11.29\00:37:14.73 on the map, we're moving in the right place. 00:37:14.73\00:37:16.40 The footsteps of the pioneers, the footsteps of our journey are 00:37:17.60\00:37:21.10 significant. 00:37:21.10\00:37:21.64 Here's another question before we... 00:37:22.14\00:37:23.44 We're going to talk about A.I. 00:37:23.44\00:37:24.51 in just a moment here because A.I. 00:37:24.64\00:37:25.94 is the generation we're living in. 00:37:25.94\00:37:27.34 It says, when Constantine merged Christianity with the Roman 00:37:27.44\00:37:30.68 Empire, Catholicism became the Church. 00:37:31.51\00:37:32.78 Then, Protestants from that. 00:37:32.78\00:37:35.55 But were there any Christians from first century Christians 00:37:36.15\00:37:41.19 that survived without going through this path? 00:37:41.19\00:37:43.96 Good question. 00:37:45.26\00:37:46.16 I think where the question is coming from... 00:37:46.26\00:37:48.13 Terry, thank you for the question. 00:37:48.13\00:37:48.76 Thank you, Terry from Ohio. 00:37:48.80\00:37:50.00 When Constantine merged with Christianity, Christianity 00:37:51.30\00:37:54.37 really became corrupted and compromised and lots of practices came in that 00:37:54.37\00:37:58.11 weren't biblical and Christianity becomes watered 00:37:58.11\00:38:02.34 down. And the question says, were there any true... 00:38:02.34\00:38:04.01 essentially were there any true... 00:38:04.01\00:38:05.31 Were there any Christians that survived? 00:38:05.31\00:38:06.75 Any Christians that survived. 00:38:06.88\00:38:07.92 I read that as were there any like Christians that never got 00:38:08.38\00:38:11.29 sucked up into that compromise? 00:38:11.29\00:38:12.29 And I think, yes, there were. 00:38:12.69\00:38:13.86 Historically, there were. 00:38:13.92\00:38:14.86 And some of those groups that... 00:38:14.89\00:38:17.53 I mean, biblically, Ellen, I mean the Bible talks about the 00:38:17.53\00:38:21.10 Church in the wilderness. 00:38:21.10\00:38:21.70 That's right. 00:38:21.80\00:38:26.63 It was literally in the wilderness because they were 00:38:26.80\00:38:30.07 being persecuted a lot of time. 00:38:30.07\00:38:30.97 Some of those groups are the Waldensians. 00:38:30.97\00:38:32.74 There was also the Celtic Church in Scotland and Ireland and the 00:38:32.77\00:38:36.18 western part of England. 00:38:36.18\00:38:37.05 These were some pockets of believers that were often 00:38:37.31\00:38:40.08 persecuted but still maintained a pure biblical truth as they 00:38:40.08\00:38:45.05 knew and maintained that in often isolation and in the 00:38:45.65\00:38:49.72 wilderness. And so if Terry's not familiar or people aren't familiar, check out 00:38:49.89\00:38:53.56 some of the lineage episodes on the Waldensis, on the Celtic 00:38:53.56\00:38:57.00 Church. And those are some of the groups that maintained the 00:38:57.37\00:39:00.54 faith during the Dark Ages when Christianity had to become corrupt and compromised. 00:39:00.54\00:39:05.77 And you know, the good thing about that as a pastor, you read 00:39:06.07\00:39:08.21 Revelation 12 where it says, the earth opened its mouth and 00:39:08.21\00:39:12.15 helped the woman. 00:39:12.15\00:39:12.98 When the serpent poured water out of his mouth like a flood to 00:39:13.52\00:39:16.72 cause the woman to be washed away by the flood, we understand 00:39:16.72\00:39:20.99 that was the persecution that was pursuing the Church but the 00:39:20.99\00:39:24.13 earth opened its mouth and helped the woman and swallowed up the flood that was 00:39:24.13\00:39:27.23 being poured out after her. 00:39:27.23\00:39:31.90 her to this particular point. 00:39:31.90\00:39:33.60 Now, looking at the evolution of technology, let's talk about AI 00:39:34.00\00:39:38.81 and we're going to look at a snippet of that. 00:39:38.81\00:39:40.14 Artificial intelligence. 00:39:40.68\00:39:41.74 Yeah, so you know, probably in November last year I got a 00:39:42.08\00:39:45.45 message from a professor that I was a good friend with and he 00:39:45.45\00:39:50.39 sent me this message and he said, have you seen this new 00:39:50.39\00:39:52.42 technology? And I was like, no, I hadn't seen it and I watched a 00:39:53.05\00:39:56.09 demo and it was this guy speaking English but then his language changed and he was 00:39:56.09\00:39:59.79 speaking in a different language and then it changed again and he 00:39:59.79\00:40:02.83 ended up speaking like nine different languages in like the 00:40:02.83\00:40:05.50 space of 30 seconds. 00:40:05.50\00:40:06.80 So I started experimenting with this stuff and I got some 00:40:06.80\00:40:10.47 snippets of Adam and I was just doing 30 second videos and in 00:40:10.47\00:40:14.54 like 20 different languages and I started sending it to people 00:40:14.54\00:40:17.38 all around the world like, hey, does this sound accurate? 00:40:17.38\00:40:19.68 People would come back to me and say, yeah, there's some slight 00:40:20.25\00:40:22.45 errors but it's 90% there, 95% there, which is pretty good. 00:40:22.45\00:40:27.46 Now, for our Advent message, we can't deal with 95%. 00:40:27.46\00:40:30.53 We have to deal with 100% accuracy. 00:40:30.53\00:40:32.33 So we started working with translators who are helping us 00:40:33.06\00:40:37.20 and they're checking these videos before we generate them 00:40:37.20\00:40:40.67 and basically turning Adam's voice into a different language. 00:40:40.67\00:40:43.71 So we did some tests. 00:40:44.01\00:40:45.11 I created a whole video in Portuguese and I put it on a 00:40:45.17\00:40:49.11 YouTube channel and we went off filming in Europe in I think 00:40:49.11\00:40:52.95 April or May and I didn't check the YouTube channel and I came 00:40:52.95\00:40:57.89 back and all of a sudden one of our videos had 35,000 views in 00:40:57.89\00:41:02.32 Portuguese and it was actually on the wall densies and I was thinking, wow, there's a 00:41:02.32\00:41:06.29 real desire and need and hunger around the world for this stuff 00:41:06.29\00:41:10.57 and we can use this technology to start translating especially 00:41:10.57\00:41:14.00 the great controversy. 00:41:14.00\00:41:17.84 languages. 00:41:17.84\00:41:21.98 Russian, Ukrainian, Hindi, Mandarin and the list goes on. 00:41:22.51\00:41:27.28 We're growing as we go. 00:41:27.48\00:41:28.88 As a matter of fact, I went to your website and there's a tab 00:41:29.48\00:41:32.59 you click down and you start choosing the different 00:41:32.59\00:41:34.46 languages. You can choose the language and you can donate to 00:41:34.49\00:41:36.79 that specific language. 00:41:36.79\00:41:40.03 reach out to your fellow people, you can support that particular 00:41:40.03\00:41:43.63 project. 00:41:43.63\00:41:44.10 It's very inexpensive compared to the traditional way of doing 00:41:44.97\00:41:48.47 it. Compared to nowadays. 00:41:48.74\00:41:49.80 We can do an episode and about one episode for about $100. 00:41:49.97\00:41:53.71 Well, if you take that episode, rent out a studio, hire out 00:41:54.41\00:42:01.82 someone to record it, translate it, the cost is exponential, 00:42:01.82\00:42:05.75 right? So we've been able to do a much cheaper way and for a 00:42:05.92\00:42:09.49 very good quality and checked by Adventists to know that it's 00:42:09.49\00:42:13.60 accurate is what's really important. 00:42:13.60\00:42:14.46 Now go ahead, tell them 3ABN is doing that, aren't we? 00:42:14.93\00:42:17.27 Right, 3ABN is using AI on some of the sermons and you can see 00:42:17.27\00:42:21.44 that in some of the camp meetings you can see the same person preaching in 00:42:21.44\00:42:24.74 different languages. 00:42:24.74\00:42:25.11 Even you. 00:42:25.31\00:42:25.71 Even I. 00:42:25.84\00:42:26.44 And we just did a series in New York City with Pastor Bachelon, 00:42:27.44\00:42:30.18 amazing fact, but he had 17 simultaneous translations 00:42:30.25\00:42:34.58 through AI. 00:42:34.58\00:42:35.08 And that was, I mean, the Lord is giving us a technology that 00:42:36.15\00:42:39.99 we can use to advance the Gospel. 00:42:39.99\00:42:41.29 So when people say be careful with AI, there's some positive 00:42:41.46\00:42:45.16 benefits to technology that we are responsible for using. 00:42:45.16\00:42:47.50 And we should use. 00:42:47.50\00:42:48.20 We need to use that. 00:42:48.56\00:42:49.50 Now you have a snippet of that. 00:42:49.66\00:42:50.97 Let's look at this 48-second clip. 00:42:50.97\00:42:52.53 Yeah, so we've got Adam speaking in a number of different 00:42:52.63\00:42:55.47 languages, so yeah, you can check it out. 00:42:55.47\00:42:56.71 3ABN is using some groundbreaking translation technology to get this 00:42:57.27\00:43:01.78 message. 00:43:01.78\00:43:02.04 Wow, wow, so not only is it in a different language, but your 00:43:44.95\00:43:49.79 mouth is moving with it. 00:43:49.79\00:43:50.29 Yeah, it's the same. 00:43:50.29\00:43:56.46 and even some still, is that it takes the, whatever, you know, 00:43:56.46\00:44:01.47 when you do scanning, your phone or whatever, it takes and it 00:44:01.47\00:44:06.21 re-jigs your face and it syncs the lips. 00:44:06.21\00:44:10.11 Not like the old Chinese karate movies. 00:44:10.81\00:44:13.11 I know, speaking in Chile, speaking in English. 00:44:15.35\00:44:20.36 Exactly, no, it's really accurate. 00:44:21.02\00:44:22.76 It's come a long, long way. 00:44:23.09\00:44:24.43 In some of the languages, the lip syncs better than others, 00:44:24.49\00:44:26.63 but generally it's pretty good. 00:44:26.63\00:44:27.76 So how many languages did you go through here on this one? 00:44:28.10\00:44:30.77 In this video, I think we went through five or six, maybe 00:44:30.77\00:44:33.67 seven, I don't remember the top of my head. 00:44:33.67\00:44:39.51 that would hit, say, the 1040 window. 00:44:39.51\00:44:41.68 So we could put the episodes into Arabic. 00:44:42.01\00:44:44.81 We could put them into some Tamil or Hindi, Mandarin, and we 00:44:45.55\00:44:50.92 could put it into some of those languages and hit parts of the 00:44:50.92\00:44:53.66 world that we can't hit, and also other languages that would 00:44:53.66\00:44:56.79 hit, you know, the Spanish speaking world or French and so 00:44:56.79\00:44:58.99 on. So that's really our goal with that, is to evangelistically spread 00:44:58.99\00:45:03.03 it around the world. 00:45:03.03\00:45:03.53 It's in Spanish too. 00:45:03.57\00:45:04.77 And Spanish, yeah. 00:45:04.90\00:45:05.83 Into all the world, oh, we're going. 00:45:06.77\00:45:08.67 Into all the world, and the confidence is, and this Gospel 00:45:09.00\00:45:12.77 of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world. 00:45:12.77\00:45:15.04 Now your website, we're going to mention this again, is 00:45:15.51\00:45:17.71 LineageJourney.com, as it sounds, Lineage Theater is on 00:45:17.71\00:45:21.78 the screen, LineageJourney.com. 00:45:21.88\00:45:23.22 You'll get a chance to visit that website and save it, book 00:45:23.32\00:45:28.29 market, because it's going to be a place where you'll see 00:45:28.69\00:45:31.59 resources that will just grab you and guide you through the Word of God in powerful 00:45:31.59\00:45:35.13 ways. 00:45:35.13\00:45:35.73 Those books are on there? 00:45:35.76\00:45:36.56 The books are on there, T-shirts, and other resources. 00:45:36.93\00:45:39.07 And T-shirts too. 00:45:39.07\00:45:40.30 And on the website we have, I mean, some people can go to the 00:45:40.47\00:45:43.20 YouTube channel as well, with just the videos, but on the 00:45:43.20\00:45:45.27 website, in addition to the videos and the resources, 00:45:45.27\00:45:48.18 there's a lot of articles on there that we've written. 00:45:48.18\00:45:49.41 There's probably about 400 different articles on there. 00:45:49.58\00:45:51.78 So if you're at home as a mother or a father with your child and 00:45:52.28\00:45:55.62 you're studying through something, or maybe home school, 00:45:55.62\00:45:58.49 home education, if you're a teacher and you're looking for resources, there's a 00:45:58.55\00:46:01.26 lot of articles that mirror every episode we've done in 00:46:01.26\00:46:04.73 addition to extra ones as well. 00:46:04.73\00:46:05.79 So there's a lot of written materials there that can help 00:46:06.09\00:46:09.23 you personally learn or help teach someone else as well. 00:46:09.23\00:46:11.60 And some people often say to us, oh, can you make the videos 00:46:11.93\00:46:14.54 longer? And it's gonna be a 30-part series, is the plan. 00:50:00.50\00:50:05.63 And we're sharing some interesting stories, like Katharina Von Bora, 00:50:06.20\00:50:08.87 who was Martin Luther's wife, and Queen Katharina Empire, 00:50:08.97\00:50:13.61 which, fascinating stories, yeah. 00:50:13.98\00:50:15.28 And she escaped from a nunnery in a fish barrel. 00:50:15.31\00:50:18.51 And then she essentially proposes to him, because she 00:50:19.28\00:50:22.65 can't be a single, any fascinating story. 00:50:22.65\00:50:23.89 Don't spoil it, don't spoil it. 00:50:24.32\00:50:26.05 So that's gonna be our series next year, Women in Christian 00:50:26.49\00:50:29.52 History, and we'll have a podcast. 00:50:29.52\00:50:29.56 You've teased us enough to look forward to it. 00:50:30.76\00:50:32.33 That's really, really good. 00:50:32.73\00:50:33.93 This isn't just the Reformation, we're covering some as far back 00:50:34.10\00:50:37.93 as, I think the early one-hundreds. 00:50:37.93\00:50:39.83 And we're going to a lady called Perpetua in Tunisia, who really 00:50:40.14\00:50:42.94 stood up. 00:50:42.94\00:50:43.51 Another fascinating story. 00:50:43.57\00:50:44.61 So we've got a whole range of different things that we're 00:50:44.81\00:50:47.64 covering. 00:50:47.64\00:50:47.88 I love this women. 00:50:48.28\00:50:49.61 Go ahead. 00:50:51.08\00:50:51.58 I know. 00:50:51.75\00:50:55.58 this into different languages. 00:50:55.58\00:50:56.62 That's gonna be phenomenal. 00:50:56.82\00:50:57.65 Now, let's talk about the way that people that are watching 00:50:58.22\00:51:00.82 and listening to the program can participate financially. 00:51:00.82\00:51:03.32 How? 00:51:03.39\00:51:04.06 And be as specific as you can. 00:51:04.06\00:51:05.59 What are the needs? 00:51:05.79\00:51:09.60 equipment evolves and things that need to be taken, so I'll 00:51:09.60\00:51:13.87 just kind of throw it out to you guys. 00:51:13.87\00:51:15.30 Or how they can participate in some of the things that might be 00:51:16.91\00:51:19.64 good. I mean, the Lord has really blessed us. 00:51:20.54\00:51:23.04 The Lord has impressed people to give over the time period that 00:51:24.38\00:51:27.68 lineage has been going, and for that we're really thankful. 00:51:27.68\00:51:29.88 We've been thankful for the support of people that have 00:51:29.95\00:51:33.25 given to us. And the Lord's impressed people. 00:51:34.39\00:51:35.59 Some people give on a monthly basis. 00:51:35.59\00:51:36.89 They've gone to a website, they've signed up, and they've 00:51:37.09\00:51:39.29 donated monthly, and that's really been helpful. 00:51:39.29\00:51:40.90 It's on the website. 00:51:40.90\00:51:40.93 monthly basis, and that really does help give us a little bit 00:51:45.80\00:51:47.84 of stability. 00:51:47.84\00:51:48.40 And then other people give, you know, one-off donations. 00:51:48.97\00:51:51.01 They go to the website lineagejourney.com slash give, 00:51:51.21\00:51:54.68 and people have donated out, you know, the generosity of their 00:51:54.68\00:51:57.28 heart. Sometimes it's just they've been impressed by it, 00:51:57.95\00:52:00.78 and they give, and other people have given a specific project. 00:52:00.78\00:52:03.65 And it's really helped because we, you know, Clive took the 00:52:03.65\00:52:07.39 step of faith, you know, he's got four children and a wife, 00:52:07.39\00:52:10.89 and to go full -time, and really had a burden and a passion to 00:52:10.89\00:52:15.03 design myself from three -quarter time, and the rest of the team are, you know, they're 00:52:15.03\00:52:17.80 volunteers, they help out, you know, they take holidays to go 00:52:17.80\00:52:20.14 on the trip, on the trips and so on. 00:52:20.14\00:52:21.84 And so we're really supported by the generosity of those who 00:52:22.04\00:52:27.48 appreciate them and recognize the importance of understanding 00:52:27.48\00:52:31.01 our identity and how that connects to our purpose on our 00:52:31.01\00:52:34.05 mission today. So a lot of people, you know, they give through our website, whether 00:52:34.65\00:52:37.65 it goes to our equipment that we need to update on regular times, 00:52:37.65\00:52:40.49 whether it goes to help us, you know, kind of, you know, live 00:52:40.62\00:52:44.89 from day to day. 00:52:44.89\00:52:45.63 Which is necessary. 00:52:45.79\00:52:48.93 aren't cheap when you're flying to the countries and you've got 00:52:48.93\00:52:51.73 the logistics of the flights and the filming and so on. 00:52:51.73\00:52:54.87 Custom clearance. 00:52:55.14\00:52:55.94 All that kind of stuff. 00:52:56.71\00:52:57.51 So when people give it, it goes a long way. 00:52:58.71\00:53:01.44 Even ensuring the equipment that you have. 00:53:01.44\00:53:03.51 Right, exactly. 00:53:03.81\00:53:07.62 overnight. 00:53:07.62\00:53:08.08 Yeah. 00:53:08.08\00:53:08.32 Although that's something. 00:53:08.72\00:53:09.48 Now, generally, what would you say is the average cost if you 00:53:11.05\00:53:14.72 would have put all those factors together of one episode? 00:53:14.72\00:53:16.99 This is just something that I don't know if you plan. 00:53:17.46\00:53:18.93 It's really hard to tell because it depends on the location. 00:53:18.93\00:53:21.10 Right. 00:53:21.23\00:53:21.63 Yeah. 00:53:21.63\00:53:23.40 I mean, if we're doing Adventist history, it's over here in the 00:53:23.50\00:53:25.90 U.S. It's cheap for me to get there or cheaper for me to get 00:53:25.90\00:53:25.93 there than some other people around the world. 00:53:28.57\00:53:30.27 But I can tell you the cost to translate an episode is about 00:53:31.74\00:53:34.68 one hundred dollars into a different language. 00:53:34.68\00:53:36.38 But I don't know. 00:53:37.08\00:53:39.15 It's really a difficult one. 00:53:39.28\00:53:40.42 If you put it together, say, a 15 part series, roughly, it's I 00:53:40.65\00:53:45.75 don't know. 00:53:45.75\00:53:45.92 It's good. 00:53:46.39\00:53:47.16 Be brave. 00:53:47.49\00:53:48.16 Be brave. 00:53:48.49\00:53:49.06 Yes. 00:53:49.29\00:53:52.06 60 or 70,000. 00:53:52.36\00:53:53.56 Sometimes more, sometimes 100,000. 00:53:54.00\00:53:55.70 The logistics costs, the travel costs, the equipment costs, the 00:53:55.70\00:54:00.20 editing costs. 00:54:00.20\00:54:01.00 That's right. 00:54:01.54\00:54:02.30 And the reality of it is nothing is free. 00:54:02.60\00:54:05.14 Right. 00:54:05.17\00:54:05.47 And time is not free. 00:54:06.01\00:54:07.38 The end product. 00:54:07.94\00:54:12.31 but it doesn't have the same effect. 00:54:12.31\00:54:14.08 No, you don't want to insult producers like people that are 00:54:14.55\00:54:20.66 behind the camera. 00:54:20.66\00:54:21.42 They'll say an iPhone does a good job. 00:54:21.56\00:54:23.53 If you're walking through the airport, just quick things. 00:54:23.53\00:54:25.89 You want to give the Lord your best. 00:54:25.96\00:54:27.00 You want to give the Lord your best. 00:54:27.00\00:54:28.06 And so you are a 501C3. 00:54:28.23\00:54:30.57 We are. 00:54:30.60\00:54:34.40 Before that, we had, yeah. 00:54:34.70\00:54:35.47 And the website is lineagejourney .com. 00:54:36.20\00:54:39.97 There are links there. 00:54:40.81\00:54:42.18 Yeah, there's the shop there, there's the watch, there's the 00:54:42.58\00:54:45.31 read, and there's the give section, there's the language 00:54:45.31\00:54:47.55 section as well. 00:54:47.55\00:54:49.18 And we can always send in checks as well. 00:54:49.18\00:54:51.12 We have a postal address. 00:54:51.12\00:54:52.52 Oh, and checks too. 00:54:52.52\00:54:54.06 And that's on the website. 00:54:54.16\00:54:55.02 That's on the website. 00:54:55.09\00:54:55.99 And I think we have a screen for that as well. 00:54:56.06\00:54:57.49 Is there a phone number too?
