So, I actually approached somebody, it wasn't Adam, maybe 00:10:17.28\00:10:20.72 you can pick up from here. 00:10:20.72\00:10:21.38 Yeah, he approached, whoever he approached, and then he came to 00:10:24.19\00:10:27.46 me. We were actually down in London at the British Museum. 00:10:27.46\00:10:30.39 Chad and Fadiya Cruz, I'm guessing you know them, they 00:10:30.89\00:10:34.03 were in England, they had been preaching at camp meeting, and 00:10:34.03\00:10:36.73 after camp meeting, as I was hosting the speakers, you know, 00:10:36.73\00:10:39.50 let's go to London, we'll show you out. 00:10:39.50\00:10:40.74 So, we went to London, Clive came with me as well, and we 00:10:40.97\00:10:43.30 showed them around the British Museum. 00:10:43.30\00:10:44.74 After we'd done this little tour, Clive came to me, and he 00:10:45.21\00:10:47.61 said, would you like to make some videos on the great 00:10:48.04\00:10:52.68 controversy and on church history? 00:10:52.68\00:10:53.58 And it so happens that the British Museum allows you to use 00:10:54.02\00:10:58.09 a tripod inside, so you know, we can shoot with a tripod inside 00:10:58.09\00:11:01.69 the British Museum, we could use some of the artifacts and make 00:11:01.69\00:11:04.76 some videos that match with the book Great Controversy. 00:11:04.76\00:11:06.76 And so the original idea was to shoot some videos in the British 00:11:07.20\00:11:10.37 Museum, and maybe John Wesley's house, just a few, a handful of 00:11:10.37\00:11:15.14 videos there in London. 00:11:15.14\00:11:16.57 It wasn't a series, it wasn't, you know, doing it for eight 00:11:16.57\00:11:20.44 years, it was just shooting five to ten, that was the idea, like 00:11:20.44\00:11:25.58 around five or ten videos at the most, shoot it there in London, 00:11:25.58\00:11:30.09 there was no name to this project, there was nothing, it was just, let's just shoot a few 00:11:30.09\00:11:32.72 videos here in London, it's our hometown. 00:11:32.72\00:11:35.16 And then, as we sat together, the idea came, well, you know, 00:11:35.52\00:11:40.46 let's go to Oxford as well, and let's go to Cambridge, let's go 00:11:40.46\00:11:43.93 up to Lutterworth, John Wycliffe's church, oh, let's go 00:11:43.93\00:11:46.67 to Scotland as well. 00:11:46.67\00:11:53.07 the, you know, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. 00:11:53.07\00:11:55.74 And so then our creative juices start flowing, and we're like, 00:11:56.41\00:11:59.38 well, actually, it's actually quite cheap for us to fly to 00:11:59.38\00:12:04.45 Europe, so, the continent of Europe, so why don't we go to Germany as well, and 00:12:04.55\00:12:08.36 Switzerland, and cover some of those reformers? 00:12:08.36\00:12:10.66 And the ideas just kind of start flowing, and it became this 00:12:11.06\00:12:15.73 idea, well, let's just do a video every week for next year, 00:12:15.83\00:12:20.57 and we'll just kind of have this going. 00:12:20.57\00:12:21.67 At the time, as youth director and working with Clive, we were 00:12:21.94\00:12:24.91 releasing devotional videos on Fridays, like, you know, 00:12:24.91\00:12:28.18 prominently speak, we get devotional, we put them on 00:12:28.21\00:12:30.18 Fridays, and they were being well-received back then, we'd been doing that for 00:12:30.45\00:12:33.68 about two years, and we were also releasing sermon snippets 00:12:33.68\00:12:36.82 of our camp meeting sermons on Mondays, so then we thought, oh, 00:12:36.82\00:12:39.59 we've got Mondays, we've got Fridays, let's create another series and put it on 00:12:39.59\00:12:42.49 Wednesdays, so we'll just have regular content, so it was just 00:12:42.49\00:12:46.46 kind of an organic idea that formed of providing another 00:12:46.46\00:12:51.00 media resource to the young people in the conference, and 00:12:51.00\00:12:54.17 let's do it throughout the, you know, we'll cover, we'll go 00:12:54.17\00:12:56.40 throughout the year, and then the idea came to make it chronological, so we'll 00:12:56.40\00:13:00.14 just kind of build one week to the next, and that was how it 00:13:00.14\00:13:04.35 formed in 2016, around August, September, so we started fine-tuning the idea, 00:13:04.35\00:13:09.42 and, you know, putting some subjects down together and I ran 00:13:09.88\00:13:13.92 it by a few, you know, historians and speakers, what do 00:13:13.92\00:13:16.59 you think about this? 00:13:16.59\00:13:16.99 And, and yeah, we, we didn't really have any money at the 00:13:18.06\00:13:20.86 time, but we had the vision. 00:13:20.86\00:13:21.33 Right. 00:13:21.90\00:13:25.00 Just the two of you. 00:13:25.03\00:13:25.93 Yeah. 00:13:26.03\00:13:26.33 It was just us. 00:13:26.47\00:13:26.67 Yeah. 00:13:26.77\00:13:28.84 just us. 00:13:28.84\00:13:29.97 It was just us. 00:13:29.97\00:13:30.01 Right. 00:13:32.74\00:13:33.24 It was just an idea. 00:13:33.24\00:13:36.41 that was it. 00:13:36.41\00:13:37.01 But then it just evolved over time. 00:13:37.28\00:13:39.58 And then our first trip, we were going up to Scotland, which was 00:13:39.58\00:13:42.18 kind of close to us. 00:13:42.18\00:13:46.79 Hey, do you want to come and help with the video and the 00:13:46.79\00:13:49.92 photography? His name is Ashley and he came and then we were in the back of the car 00:13:50.33\00:13:54.00 driving up there. 00:13:54.00\00:13:54.93 He designed the logo because he's a designer. 00:13:54.96\00:13:56.83 Right. 00:13:57.10\00:14:00.54 we need a website and it just grew so organically. 00:14:00.60\00:14:04.11 God just kind of put everything in place. 00:14:04.97\00:14:06.98 Yeah. 00:14:07.38\00:14:07.61 Wow. 00:14:07.61\00:14:08.11 The Lord was in it. 00:14:08.11\00:14:08.74 See how it pulled together? 00:14:08.78\00:14:10.05 I know, yeah. 00:14:10.05\00:14:10.65 So beautifully. 00:14:10.68\00:14:11.61 Yeah, and the name kind of, we had all these different names 00:14:12.68\00:14:18.92 and we were brainstorming different names and what to do. 00:14:18.92\00:14:21.16 And I was, as youth director, I had my team and I was running 00:14:21.26\00:14:25.16 names by them and I sometimes look back at the sheet of names 00:14:25.16\00:14:30.00 that we came up with. 00:14:30.00\00:14:30.23 Yes. 00:14:30.27\00:14:30.90 And I'm just like, wow, those have been terrible names. 00:14:31.47\00:14:35.70 I'm so glad we didn't go with whatever. 00:14:36.94\00:14:40.11 I was actually talking to a friend of mine, you may know 00:14:40.34\00:14:43.38 him, Pastor Justin Kimmies, at the review now. 00:14:43.38\00:14:45.05 I was brainstorming with him and he's actually the one that kind 00:14:45.31\00:14:48.42 of, what about lineage? 00:14:48.48\00:14:49.35 And I put that down on the list and it became one of, it 00:14:50.29\00:14:53.39 eventually became the name that we went with. 00:14:53.39\00:14:55.12 So it was just kind of going. 00:14:55.16\00:14:56.59 Even a week before we launched, we didn't even have our own 00:14:57.49\00:15:01.53 platforms like Facebook, platform, Instagram. 00:15:01.53\00:15:03.93 We were just going to do anything on the NEC youth social 00:15:03.93\00:15:07.44 account as I was youth director. 00:15:07.44\00:15:08.37 And then about a week before we sat there and we thought, well, 00:15:08.84\00:15:12.67 you're not going to be youth director forever and then, you 00:15:12.67\00:15:16.31 know, you'll hand the login details to the next guy and so 00:15:16.31\00:15:19.45 on. And we thought, oh, maybe we should put it on our own 00:15:19.55\00:15:22.92 platform just in case, you know, to give us access forever. 00:15:22.92\00:15:25.55 And then, well, OK, then we, you know, so we started that. 00:15:26.15\00:15:28.52 So, yeah, it was, it just kind of, it happened organically in a 00:15:29.26\00:15:33.16 sense. It wasn't, you know, sometimes these ideas, you think 00:15:33.16\00:15:35.96 they come around a strategic table and it wasn't like that. 00:15:35.96\00:15:39.67 It just kind of happened. 00:15:39.70\00:15:40.60 And the Lord was leading each step. 00:15:40.67\00:15:41.94 So, you know, it's the Lord. 00:15:41.97\00:15:43.14 And even to the point of the first episode that we launched, 00:15:43.30\00:15:47.71 I was editing that with my wife and a friend of mine, Ashley on 00:15:47.71\00:15:51.38 the phone on FaceTime. 00:15:51.38\00:15:52.58 And we were editing it till like three o'clock in the morning. 00:15:52.58\00:15:54.62 And just because we had this product that we'd filmed and we 00:15:54.68\00:15:57.95 didn't know what was going to come of it. 00:15:57.95\00:15:59.19 So we were kind of just bouncing off each other very organically. 00:15:59.19\00:16:01.72 And before you knew it, we had the first episode. 00:16:01.72\00:16:04.33 And I remember Ashley said to me, this has come out really 00:16:04.69\00:16:09.06 good, but how are you going to maintain this for so long? 00:16:09.06\00:16:12.33 But literally God has enabled us to do that. 00:16:12.63\00:16:15.44 So praise the Lord. 00:16:15.47\00:16:18.57 far? 00:16:18.57\00:16:22.14 Oh, close. 00:16:22.31\00:16:23.38 Yeah, close to that. 00:16:23.48\00:16:24.71 Now, if people only understood the man hours that it takes, 00:16:24.95\00:16:29.82 let's just kind of give us an overview of what it takes. 00:16:29.82\00:16:32.75 And I guess I know it also depends on where you're 00:16:33.02\00:16:36.06 traveling to. The travel time is one thing. 00:16:36.52\00:16:37.99 That's a financial responsibility. 00:16:38.96\00:16:41.16 And then getting to the location, depending on how far 00:16:41.86\00:16:45.43 it is. But we're going to kind of give one of the episodes 00:16:47.10\00:16:52.14 there and kind of get people that have not seen lineage 00:16:53.01\00:16:55.91 before. Let's just start with the Laodicea episode, kind of 00:16:56.58\00:16:59.51 lead us into that. Sure. 00:16:59.51\00:17:06.89 ancient city in modern day Turkey. 00:17:06.89\00:17:08.56 OK, it's mentioned in the Book of Revelation and it's one of 00:17:08.82\00:17:11.79 the seven churches that the Book of Revelation was originally 00:17:11.79\00:17:15.00 sent to. So there were seven cities, seven churches and John 00:17:15.13\00:17:18.30 sent the letter to those churches. 00:17:18.30\00:17:19.27 So in 2020, we filmed the series on the seven churches. 00:17:19.40\00:17:24.47 So we did an introductory one and then we did an episode in 00:17:24.51\00:17:28.34 each of the city. 00:17:28.34\00:17:29.01 So it was an eight part series. 00:17:29.01\00:17:29.74 You went to each of those cities? 00:17:29.84\00:17:30.75 Yeah, we went to Turkey and we filmed there. 00:17:30.85\00:17:32.41 That was during Covid. 00:17:32.45\00:17:33.55 It was, but it was later in the year when the restrictions had 00:17:33.68\00:17:37.35 lifted. 00:17:37.35\00:17:41.42 We filmed them. 00:17:41.56\00:17:41.92 Which was great because it was empty. 00:17:42.42\00:17:43.83 Oh yeah, no one was there. 00:17:44.43\00:17:46.09 Filming it was the best time. 00:17:46.43\00:17:47.66 There were no tourists, there were no coaches, there were no 00:17:47.93\00:17:51.03 buses, we just had the place to ourselves. 00:17:51.03\00:17:52.03 So the Laodicea episode was, that was probably our third or 00:17:52.43\00:17:56.40 fourth series that we'd released by the time we released the 00:17:56.40\00:17:59.31 seven churches. 00:17:59.31\00:18:03.21 churches. 00:18:03.21\00:18:03.81 They're messages that obviously they have a historic value, but 00:18:04.48\00:18:08.02 then have a personal application. 00:18:08.02\00:18:09.38 And when you actually travel to the city and you see the 00:18:10.09\00:18:12.69 physical features that you've either preached about or heard a 00:18:12.69\00:18:15.49 preacher preach about, you know, the lukewarmness and you hear 00:18:15.49\00:18:20.46 these descriptions of the church, which also describe our 00:18:20.46\00:18:23.87 own spiritual condition, it really makes revelation come 00:18:23.87\00:18:27.57 alive. Oh wow, you know, the hot springs are still flowing today 00:18:27.97\00:18:31.74 and it still flows out of Heriopolis. 00:18:31.74\00:18:33.04 You saw that? 00:18:33.17\00:18:35.28 It's amazing. 00:18:36.51\00:18:37.38 So the Laodicea one is, there's a historic value, but there's 00:18:38.08\00:18:41.82 also personal spiritual application in that series 00:18:41.82\00:18:44.52 heavily as well. Well, let's just dive in some of the work that Clive and Adam has 00:18:44.75\00:18:47.36 done. 00:18:47.36\00:18:49.89 Laodicea was located about 40 miles from Philadelphia and 100 00:19:09.08\00:19:13.38 miles east of Ephesus, and it was founded by Antiochus II and 00:19:13.38\00:19:18.55 named in honor of his wife, Laodicea, who incidentally later 00:19:18.55\00:19:22.06 poisoned him. It was located on the Lycus River and was about 00:19:22.46\00:19:26.43 eight miles from Colossee to whom the Book of Colossians was 00:19:26.43\00:19:29.53 written and was at the crux of two major Roman roads. 00:19:29.53\00:19:31.93 It was an incredibly wealthy city. 00:19:32.40\00:19:34.47 It had a large banking center with large manufacturing 00:19:34.80\00:19:39.41 interests. When Laodicea was destroyed by an earthquake in AD 00:19:43.45\00:19:48.25 60, they refused outside aid and rebuilt the city at their own 00:19:48.25\00:19:51.82 expense. Such self-sufficiency was rare and made the city 00:19:52.35\00:19:56.09 famous. They were also famous for a valuable wool found in the 00:19:56.49\00:19:59.53 valleys that was soft in texture and black in color, which meant 00:19:59.53\00:20:03.13 that Laodiceans almost exclusively wore black as evidence of their wealth. 00:20:03.13\00:20:07.47 There was also an important school of medicine located in 00:20:08.04\00:20:12.61 the narrow and connected to this school was an industry for the 00:20:12.61\00:20:16.81 manufacture of a special eye medicine, collirium, made from a famous Pyrogean stone. 00:20:16.81\00:20:21.42 Laodicea was a successful and well -ordered city with proud, 00:20:25.79\00:20:30.23 arrogant and self-satisfied inhabitants. 00:20:30.23\00:20:31.99 They were accustomed to leisure, pleasure and entertainment as 00:20:32.39\00:20:36.26 evidenced by the ruins of the amphitheaters which remain here 00:20:36.26\00:20:40.07 to this day. 00:20:40.07\00:20:40.67 Jesus begins his message to the church and gives them no 00:20:41.20\00:20:44.21 affirmation. 00:20:44.21\00:20:48.74 This analogy would have been familiar to them. 00:20:52.51\00:20:54.98 Hot water from the nearby springs here in Heriopolis was 00:20:55.42\00:20:59.85 pumped down to them by aqueducts and pipes. 00:20:59.85\00:21:02.06 Today you can see the remnants of these aqueducts and pipes 00:21:02.52\00:21:05.76 with the mineral deposit inside them. 00:21:05.76\00:21:07.40 By the time the water reached Laodicea, it was lukewarm, good 00:21:07.60\00:21:11.77 for nothing. 00:21:11.77\00:21:16.64 remain in this state, I will vomit you out. 00:21:16.64\00:21:19.67 There is nothing worse than a half -hearted Christian. 00:21:24.01\00:21:26.65 If you are spiritually hot, then you are on fire for God. 00:21:27.02\00:21:30.19 If you are cold, then there is at least the idea that whilst 00:21:30.49\00:21:34.09 you are not walking with God, you are aware that you are not. 00:21:34.09\00:21:37.03 But if you are lukewarm, you think you're doing good, but the 00:21:37.09\00:21:40.93 reality is far from it. 00:21:40.93\00:21:42.36 Laodicea's spiritual condition was such that they think they're 00:21:43.16\00:21:46.53 rich, increased with goods, and have need of nothing, but their 00:21:46.87\00:21:51.14 level of self -awareness is non-existent, and they don't 00:21:51.14\00:21:54.94 know that they're wretched, miserable, poor, blind and 00:21:54.94\00:21:58.01 naked. The counsel to Laodicea is interesting in that it either 00:22:01.68\00:22:04.69 included things they thought they already had or was the 00:22:04.69\00:22:08.22 opposite of what they had. 00:22:08.22\00:22:12.83 tried in the fire. 00:22:12.83\00:22:14.10 They had an eye clinic, and yet they were told to anoint their 00:22:14.56\00:22:17.53 eyes with eyesalve. 00:22:17.53\00:22:18.53 They prided themselves on their black clothes, and yet they were 00:22:18.80\00:22:21.74 told to get white raiment. 00:22:21.74\00:22:23.61 The gold tried in the fire is symbolic of faith in the furnace 00:22:24.44\00:22:28.78 of affliction. 00:22:28.78\00:22:33.75 represents the righteousness of Christ that we need to clothe 00:22:33.75\00:22:37.12 ourselves in. 00:22:37.12\00:22:37.85 The name Laodicea means a people judged, and we take the time 00:22:42.02\00:22:46.23 period for this church to be from 1844 to the second coming, 00:22:46.23\00:22:50.73 during the time period of the judgment, and it is directly relevant to us today. 00:22:50.73\00:22:54.44 The message to the Laodiceans ends with a beautiful appeal. 00:22:55.17\00:22:58.27 Jesus is standing and knocking at the door of our hearts. 00:22:58.61\00:23:01.88 He doesn't force his way in, though. 00:23:02.18\00:23:04.08 He, the person on the outside, is the one taking the 00:23:04.35\00:23:07.75 initiative, pressing the door, pleading for entrance. 00:23:08.05\00:23:10.29 Salvation is a personal matter, and we must open our hearts to 00:23:10.85\00:23:15.26 him personally. 00:23:15.26\00:23:20.36 come in and sup with him. 00:23:20.36\00:23:21.83 Not only will he sup with us, but the Bible says we can sit on 00:23:22.20\00:23:25.90 his throne with him. 00:23:25.90\00:23:26.97 Jesus longs for an intimate relationship with us. 00:23:27.47\00:23:30.27 If he is knocking at the door of your heart, then open the door 00:23:30.51\00:23:34.54 and let him come in. 00:23:34.54\00:23:35.94 Well, if this is your first time, consider yourself a part 00:24:03.54\00:24:07.98 of lineage. 00:24:07.98\00:24:11.91 on you could see these episodes again on 3ABN later on, or you 00:24:11.91\00:24:15.62 could go to 3ABN Plus and see it on demand. 00:24:15.62\00:24:19.52 The Bible comes alive, doesn't it? 00:24:19.52\00:24:21.02 The Bible comes alive. 00:24:21.02\00:24:21.96 The lukewarm, the hot water, you said? 00:24:22.19\00:24:24.76 Fascinating. 00:24:25.06\00:24:26.66 You see some of the things that are... 00:24:26.90\00:24:30.97 about five miles from Laodicea, and then the water would have 00:24:30.97\00:24:35.60 flown down the valley, and today there's still hot water flowing 00:24:35.60\00:24:38.54 out there. And then by the time it got down there, it was 00:24:38.91\00:24:40.78 lukewarm. You get the analogy. 00:24:40.98\00:24:42.01 Right, it's cooling off. 00:24:42.01\00:24:42.04 It's cooling off. 00:24:42.94\00:24:43.88 So the analogy matches perfectly with the Bible. 00:24:43.95\00:24:45.91 Perfect. 00:24:46.78\00:24:47.22 Spew you out of my mouth, the Bible says. 00:24:48.02\00:24:50.29 Don't want to be lukewarm. 00:24:50.79\00:24:52.09 Well, so Clive, as a person who... 00:24:53.09\00:24:56.66 Based on what you do, I dabble, okay. 00:24:56.66\00:24:59.06 But I'm understanding some of the context of the technical 00:24:59.06\00:25:02.56 part of it. 00:25:02.56\00:25:06.97 project. 00:25:06.97\00:25:11.04 That includes Photoshop, After Effects. 00:25:11.14\00:25:12.97 It typically takes us around two days. 00:25:13.38\00:25:16.18 Well, used to when we first started, takes about two days to 00:25:16.31\00:25:18.18 edit each episode. 00:25:18.18\00:25:19.08 Each five-minute video takes about two days. 00:25:19.18\00:25:20.78 But over time, we've refined the process. 00:25:21.12\00:25:22.85 We've made it quicker and faster because we've done it so many 00:25:23.62\00:25:26.29 times. 00:25:26.29\00:25:29.49 About a day. 00:25:29.86\00:25:30.59 Yeah. 00:25:30.66\00:25:31.03 That's good. 00:25:31.03\00:25:31.06 For five minutes, so... 00:25:31.63\00:25:33.13 But see, so... 00:25:33.13\00:25:35.06 I'm glad you mentioned that because my wife sometimes says, 00:25:35.06\00:25:37.33 it's only five minutes long. 00:25:37.33\00:25:37.80 What's taking you so long? 00:25:37.97\00:25:38.80 He needs time. 00:25:39.93\00:25:40.80 He needs time. 00:25:40.84\00:25:41.50 You put something together and went to the... 00:25:42.40\00:25:43.94 Where were we? 00:25:43.94\00:25:44.84 Indonesia. 00:25:46.04\00:25:46.41 Right. 00:25:46.91\00:25:48.71 She said, it's taking you so long. 00:25:49.04\00:25:50.11 I said, honey, this is seven minutes. 00:25:50.25\00:25:51.45 You should probably spend some time with my wife. 00:25:52.08\00:25:53.68 We can just edit together. 00:25:54.28\00:25:55.48 Yeah. 00:25:55.85\00:25:56.18 Yeah. 00:25:56.62\00:25:56.99 Now... 00:25:58.12\00:25:58.79 What partnership have you had with other organizations, and 00:25:59.62\00:26:03.49 how has it benefited you both? 00:26:03.49\00:26:04.56 Okay. 00:26:05.39\00:26:08.76 they have been a real blessing. 00:26:08.76\00:26:10.10 One of the more recent ones, we did do a partnership in the last 00:26:10.13\00:26:15.87 two years with an organization called Streams of Light. 00:26:15.87\00:26:19.01 Oh, yes. 00:26:19.41\00:26:20.28 You're familiar with their organization. 00:26:20.34\00:26:21.61 Their mission is quite singular. 00:26:22.21\00:26:23.81 In some ways, it's to get the book break controversy into as 00:26:24.45\00:26:28.32 many homes as possible. 00:26:28.32\00:26:29.25 And so they approached us, and they do mass distribution 00:26:30.22\00:26:34.82 projects of great controversies around America and other parts 00:26:34.82\00:26:37.06 of the world. And they had QR codes in their books, but the QR 00:26:37.43\00:26:41.03 codes took, at the time, a couple of years ago, would take the viewer to maybe a 00:26:41.03\00:26:44.97 sermon or something like that, but they wanted something that 00:26:44.97\00:26:48.24 was a little bit more shorter. 00:26:48.24\00:26:49.20 Some of their QR codes came to the early lineage episodes that 00:26:49.60\00:26:53.14 we did in season one, but then we only really covered maybe the 00:26:53.14\00:26:59.25 first 17 chapters of the book, Great Controversy, we didn't go 00:26:59.25\00:27:01.88 beyond. So they came to us and said, would you like to redo 00:27:02.15\00:27:05.79 them, but this time, intentionally do every single chapter of the book, Great 00:27:05.79\00:27:08.69 Controversy. 00:27:08.69\00:27:09.56 And so we had the opportunity to work with them. 00:27:09.92\00:27:12.96 And that was a fun project. 00:27:13.40\00:27:15.26 So we reshot some of the early episodes that Kalei wasn't happy 00:27:15.56\00:27:21.00 with because of the editing, or I wasn't happy with because of 00:27:21.00\00:27:23.67 the early scripting, so we kind of reshot some of those early 00:27:23.67\00:27:26.31 ones. I will say that was our hardest series to do. 00:27:26.57\00:27:30.21 We just felt like everything was always going wrong. 00:27:30.61\00:27:32.81 It's just like when she wrote the book. 00:27:33.28\00:27:34.48 You're right, you know, right before we were about to film, 00:27:34.68\00:27:36.99 Adam broke his arm, he fell over, broke his arm, so we had 00:27:36.99\00:27:39.92 to postpone the filming. 00:27:39.92\00:27:40.16 No, we didn't. 00:27:40.36\00:27:41.19 Oh, no, yeah, we didn't. 00:27:41.66\00:27:42.59 We didn't. 00:27:42.59\00:27:45.33 And then Kalei was like, oh, it doesn't matter, we can still 00:27:45.69\00:27:47.76 film. So we did the whole two weeks of filming with this 00:27:48.00\00:27:51.13 broken arm, and it's painful if you've broken a hand. 00:27:51.13\00:27:53.37 And then when it came to edit, he's like, yeah, we can't use 00:27:53.37\00:27:56.71 this. It doesn't look good. 00:27:56.71\00:27:57.51 It didn't look right. 00:27:57.67\00:27:58.71 You know, you got an eternal message, and you wanted to 00:27:59.04\00:28:01.51 present it in the right way. 00:28:01.51\00:28:02.34 I can't have an episode on heaven with a broken arm. 00:28:02.64\00:28:04.71 Yeah, so we just said, you know, let's just redo it. 00:28:04.85\00:28:07.62 It's gonna take us a bit more time, but then we're gonna come 00:28:07.62\00:28:07.65 out with a product that is done well and can last eternity. 00:28:10.45\00:28:13.66 That's right. 00:28:13.96\00:28:14.52 And that's not just that, though. 00:28:15.32\00:28:19.19 we've never had, and it just felt more oppressive, so to 00:28:19.19\00:28:23.70 speak, or more under... 00:28:23.70\00:28:24.53 Great controversy. 00:28:24.53\00:28:25.07 With the great controversy. 00:28:25.20\00:28:26.20 Yeah, the controversy over the great controversy. 00:28:26.40\00:28:28.30 It was. 00:28:28.40\00:28:29.20 So that was one of the partnerships we did. 00:28:29.37\00:28:30.64 We also did a partnership with, somewhat partnership with ASI. 00:28:30.74\00:28:34.24 They asked us to do a video. 00:28:34.38\00:28:35.41 We saw you at ASI. 00:28:35.41\00:28:36.68 On the history of ASI, so we did that one with them, and that was 00:28:36.98\00:28:40.08 a fun project to work on as well, and just telling... 00:28:40.08\00:28:41.55 What do you mean, the history of ASI? 00:28:41.55\00:28:42.88 So we started with the early origins of ASI with Madison 00:28:42.88\00:28:46.29 College, and then kind of followed the journey through the 00:28:46.29\00:28:49.59 children of Madison, and then the various ministries that have 00:28:49.59\00:28:52.53 started since then, and then what ASI is today in terms of how it helps to enable and 00:28:52.53\00:28:57.00 empower ministries and also people to share Christ in the 00:28:57.00\00:29:01.44 marketplace. We shared some of those stories and testimonies in 00:29:01.60\00:29:04.61 a project that we did with them, so that was another kind of... 00:29:04.61\00:29:05.91 So you're part of ASI, aren't you? 00:29:05.91\00:29:07.84 Yeah. 00:29:07.84\00:29:08.18 Amen, wonderful. 00:29:08.41\00:29:09.61 You know, what's nice about the work that you're doing and the 00:29:09.61\00:29:09.64 quality of it gives it longevity, and I like that you 00:29:11.58\00:29:14.88 mentioned earlier, the generation, your generation, and 00:29:14.88\00:29:20.62 young people, I mean, the media world we're living in, the competition is great. 00:29:20.62\00:29:24.93 When you look at anything on, whether it's YouTube or 00:29:25.23\00:29:28.26 Instagram or TikTok or wherever you're getting that media from, 00:29:28.26\00:29:31.03 immediately in the first five or 10 seconds, if you don't have 00:29:31.83\00:29:34.44 that person's attention, it's like, well, it's kind of 00:29:34.44\00:29:36.71 religious, I don't wanna watch it. 00:29:36.71\00:29:37.47 That's why I like lineage. 00:29:37.67\00:29:38.84 It grabs you right away. 00:29:39.17\00:29:40.74 Instantly. 00:29:40.81\00:29:41.44 And not that it's a bad thing, but you don't dress up for it, 00:29:42.28\00:29:45.58 it just gives it a contemporary feel. 00:29:45.58\00:29:47.35 I like that. 00:29:47.38\00:29:50.62 maybe he is smart. 00:29:51.35\00:29:52.39 You know, this is a different generation. 00:29:53.49\00:29:56.86 and shared about lineage and people have come up to me 00:29:56.86\00:29:59.76 afterwards and they're like, yeah, you look like him. 00:29:59.76\00:30:02.86 It's like, yeah. 00:30:04.27\00:30:05.23 You're in a town in a suit. 00:30:05.23\00:30:06.27 You want me to put the hat on and... 00:30:06.30\00:30:07.37 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:30:07.37\00:30:08.44 You want me to take off my tie and put the hat on? 00:30:08.47\00:30:10.01 You sound like him. 00:30:10.01\00:30:11.21 But just to say, what exactly you said, that was intentional. 00:30:11.21\00:30:13.31 You know, we wanted it to be fast -paced. 00:30:13.61\00:30:15.11 We knew when we first started, we spoke about having one to 00:30:15.11\00:30:19.61 three seconds to grab someone's attention. 00:30:19.61\00:30:20.98 That's why it's intentional with the way it starts so rapidly, 00:30:21.25\00:30:24.02 because you really want to grab that person's attention and get 00:30:24.02\00:30:26.02 them to watch the whole video. 00:30:26.02\00:30:26.92 And while they're scrolling, they just see the first clips 00:30:27.99\00:30:30.59 and are interested in watching it. 00:30:30.59\00:30:31.43 And this was, what, eight years ago that we started this. 00:30:31.76\00:30:33.96 Now that attention span's dropped more, you know? 00:30:34.50\00:30:37.33 So we've had to kind of adapt and do some even shorter 00:30:37.47\00:30:40.47 content, one minute long and 30 seconds long. 00:30:40.47\00:30:42.27 Do you have those? 00:30:42.54\00:30:43.37 Do you have... 00:30:43.61\00:30:46.44 Yeah, very short videos. 00:30:46.68\00:30:48.04 Do you have a lot of viewers? 00:30:48.44\00:30:49.14 Yeah, yeah, yeah, we do, yeah. 00:30:49.51\00:30:50.61 Wow. 00:30:51.45\00:30:51.71 That's amazing. 00:30:51.88\00:30:52.58 So in addition to the video projects, what other resources 00:30:53.25\00:30:57.52 does Lineage have? 00:30:57.52\00:30:58.25 Talk about some of those resources. 00:30:59.29\00:31:00.62 So just talking about the great controversy. 00:31:01.06\00:31:04.69 When we built the videos, we thought, well, if someone is 00:31:06.66\00:31:10.50 seeing this video for the first time, they may want to know more 00:31:10.50\00:31:13.84 information, like some of the historical facts. 00:31:13.84\00:31:15.30 So actually, if you go to our website and we have a whole 00:31:15.70\00:31:18.94 study section where you can actually go through the great 00:31:18.94\00:31:21.08 controversy, historical data, see book resources, watch the 00:31:21.21\00:31:25.41 videos, watch related videos, read the chapter on the website, 00:31:25.41\00:31:28.98 if you want to as well. 00:31:28.98\00:31:33.79 book, Great Controversy. 00:31:33.79\00:31:34.86 Remember, we were showing this at church, the lineage between 00:31:35.26\00:31:38.76 Sabbath school and church. 00:31:38.76\00:31:39.56 Right, we were showing that at our church. 00:31:40.50\00:31:42.06 Okay. 00:31:42.06\00:31:47.57 Sabbath school study time. 00:31:47.57\00:31:48.80 Really, really good, I always heard it. 00:31:49.07\00:31:50.71 And then finally, they put a television backstage so I could 00:31:50.91\00:31:53.68 see it. 00:31:53.68\00:31:54.08 Everybody else was seeing it. 00:31:54.58\00:31:55.94 I really, really enjoyed that. 00:31:56.48\00:31:57.95 So the... 00:31:58.21\00:31:58.91 Go on. 00:31:58.91\00:31:59.28 Yeah, go ahead. 00:31:59.81\00:32:01.92 Are you gonna talk about some of those? 00:32:02.02\00:32:03.22 Yeah, we've got some books, original stuff that we've... 00:32:03.49\00:32:06.42 As Clive mentioned, the guy who designed our logo, actually, 00:32:06.42\00:32:11.36 he's a... 00:32:11.36\00:32:12.19 What would you say he is? 00:32:12.19\00:32:13.13 He's an illustrator. 00:32:13.16\00:32:13.86 Illustrator. 00:32:14.10\00:32:14.56 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:32:14.66\00:32:15.53 So he does... 00:32:15.56\00:32:20.27 come up with this amazing drawing. 00:32:20.27\00:32:21.84 Wow. 00:32:21.84\00:32:21.87 Just, you know... 00:32:22.34\00:32:23.14 How many in your team? 00:32:23.14\00:32:24.34 In the team, good question. 00:32:24.74\00:32:25.87 There's about... 00:32:25.91\00:32:27.11 No, there is, there's 10 of us. 00:32:27.11\00:32:28.21 There's 10 of us in the team. 00:32:28.48\00:32:29.78 And it's really been that way since 2017, really. 00:32:30.05\00:32:33.25 Yes. 00:32:33.48\00:32:39.25 too. 00:32:39.25\00:32:40.96 About eight of the people is people that we know. 00:32:41.72\00:32:43.66 Two of the people... 00:32:43.93\00:32:45.23 Contacted us out of the blue. 00:32:47.40\00:32:48.13 One of them contacted us out of the blue. 00:32:48.73\00:32:49.90 The other one I knew, but contacted me out of the blue. 00:32:49.90\00:32:49.93 So it kind of just kind of came together. 00:32:51.93\00:32:54.24 The people in England were people that we just asked to 00:32:54.54\00:32:57.11 come on a filming trip. 00:32:57.11\00:32:57.61 And back then, we've got no money. 00:32:58.24\00:33:00.58 Yes. 00:33:00.81\00:33:01.18 We're broke. 00:33:01.31\00:33:01.94 I can promise to give you a bed and travel and... 00:33:03.18\00:33:08.75 Time's not even that, though. 00:33:08.75\00:33:09.95 No. 00:33:10.29\00:33:10.32 No, just one of our... 00:33:11.22\00:33:12.49 And feed you. 00:33:12.49\00:33:12.85 And feed you. 00:33:12.92\00:33:18.96 limited on budget that we needed an extra driver. 00:33:18.96\00:33:21.06 So I called Anton and I said, hey, Anton, can you do a shift 00:33:21.73\00:33:25.60 with us? Because he's a driver. 00:33:25.60\00:33:26.94 We were driving through the night up to Scotland, up to a 00:33:27.00\00:33:31.51 little island called Iona. 00:33:31.51\00:33:32.74 So I said, hey, can you come along? 00:33:32.91\00:33:33.88 It'll be myself, Anton, my wife, and Adam. 00:33:34.04\00:33:36.85 So Anton was like, okay, I'll come. 00:33:37.25\00:33:38.98 And I knew that Iona was windy. 00:33:39.08\00:33:40.68 So I was like, hey, it's gonna be windy. 00:33:41.18\00:33:42.48 Can you just bring your boom mic as well? 00:33:42.58\00:33:44.12 Just to help out if you can. 00:33:44.39\00:33:45.65 And he was like, yeah, sure. 00:33:45.69\00:33:46.65 So he comes, he does the sounds, loves the project. 00:33:46.72\00:33:49.19 And then he's just, he's in. 00:33:49.66\00:33:51.03 He just organically just joined the team like that. 00:33:51.16\00:33:53.26 It wasn't like there was no finances put down. 00:33:53.43\00:33:56.06 It wasn't a contract. 00:33:56.13\00:33:57.37 It was just like very organic. 00:33:57.47\00:33:58.87 And I can tell you a story about every single one in the team who 00:33:59.03\00:34:02.07 kind of started that way. 00:34:02.07\00:34:03.04 And everyone joined, not for pay, or no one said, oh, how 00:34:03.51\00:34:06.71 much am I getting? 00:34:06.71\00:34:10.88 project. 00:34:10.88\00:34:11.15 And that's kind of special because even though the ministry 00:34:12.48\00:34:15.65 has grown a little bit since then, and the Lord blessed us in 00:34:15.65\00:34:20.09 some ways, the core team is all people that join just out of a passion and a burden 00:34:20.09\00:34:23.86 to join. 00:34:23.86\00:34:24.33 And so anyway, so that's most of the guys on the team. 00:34:24.96\00:34:27.40 And then a few of them joined. 00:34:27.46\00:34:29.00 Is it all a guy team? 00:34:29.10\00:34:30.27 No, no, no, no. 00:34:30.77\00:34:31.93 So our writer who writes our website content and the books 00:34:32.13\00:34:36.44 that I mentioned in just a minute, she's from Australia, 00:34:36.44\00:34:39.64 her name's Suki. And then my wife's on the team. 00:34:40.18\00:34:41.71 Clive's wife's on the team as well. 00:34:42.08\00:34:43.24 Aiko and Charlene are both on the team. 00:34:43.45\00:34:45.15 So you travel together? 00:34:45.25\00:34:46.21 When we can. 00:34:46.58\00:34:47.15 Not always. 00:34:47.35\00:34:48.12 Sometimes it's just me and Clive. 00:34:48.15\00:34:49.08 Sometimes it's three of us. 00:34:49.35\00:34:50.62 Sometimes it's five of us. 00:34:50.69\00:34:51.55 Sometimes it's more. 00:34:51.59\00:34:52.45 It just kind of varies on who's available. 00:34:52.49\00:34:54.42 And how long we're going for as well. 00:34:54.72\00:34:56.09 How long we're going for and what we need to do when we get 00:34:56.12\00:34:58.33 there. How many countries have you been to? 00:34:58.69\00:35:00.30 That's a good question. 00:35:00.83\00:35:01.80 I've never counted. 00:35:01.96\00:35:02.63 Never counted? 00:35:02.63\00:35:03.73 Never counted. 00:35:04.50\00:35:06.60 If a viewer can tell us that, we can give them a free gift. 00:35:07.90\00:35:10.14 Now, is there a headquarters? 00:35:11.44\00:35:12.54 That's, we're very... 00:35:14.18\00:35:15.11 My bedroom. 00:35:15.11\00:35:15.58 There's no physical headquarters because I'm based in England. 00:35:17.21\00:35:19.98 He lives in California. 00:35:20.32\00:35:21.48 Jasper, who's one of our videographers, lives in the 00:35:22.32\00:35:24.42 Philippines. 00:35:24.42\00:35:25.02 Suki is our writer, lives in Australia. 00:35:25.32\00:35:26.62 So we're kind of... 00:35:27.29\00:35:27.96 This is totally contemporary. 00:35:27.96\00:35:29.02 This is what you call... 00:35:29.29\00:35:31.06 We have a Slack channel. 00:35:31.06\00:35:32.26 We have a channel on Slack and we do our projects on there, 00:35:32.26\00:35:36.20 communicate on there and we meet once a month virtually. 00:35:36.30\00:35:39.47 But we've never had the whole team in one place at the same 00:35:39.97\00:35:43.27 time. I'll say to our audience, welcome to the modern order of 00:35:43.47\00:35:46.91 things. That's really how the world is nowadays. 00:35:47.44\00:35:49.34 It is. 00:35:49.34\00:35:52.78 And that quick response. 00:35:54.15\00:35:55.45 But now as far as editing, are you the chief editor or you have 00:35:56.35\00:35:59.59 other people editing with you? 00:35:59.59\00:36:04.13 of our behind the scenes videos. 00:36:04.13\00:36:05.39 Eden is the guy who does that for us and he travels with us 00:36:05.69\00:36:08.40 sometimes. 00:36:08.40\00:36:09.26 And again, he had another organic story of how he joined. 00:36:09.56\00:36:11.87 But most of the episode editing that you'll see would be myself. 00:36:12.50\00:36:16.44 And I would say myself and my wife, because my wife, she fixes 00:36:16.64\00:36:20.58 my mistakes. 00:36:20.58\00:36:21.04 Well, she edits also. 00:36:21.58\00:36:22.38 We do that. 00:36:22.38\00:36:22.41 Women do that, right? 00:36:23.28\00:36:24.61 No, seriously, because sometimes you're looking at something so 00:36:25.85\00:36:29.12 long that it just kind of blends in. 00:36:29.12\00:36:30.72 And my wife says, you're missing a letter on that word. 00:36:30.85\00:36:34.36 Yeah, exactly. 00:36:34.36\00:36:35.19 Y-O-U, you forgot R. 00:36:35.59\00:36:37.09 Yeah, my biggest Achilles heel is I leave the R out on the 00:36:37.79\00:36:41.26 word, your. But she finds that she's very, very good at that. 00:36:41.80\00:36:43.93 But now let's talk about another one because we just looked at 00:36:44.50\00:36:46.87 Leo to see. 00:36:46.87\00:36:50.21 Oh, you went there? 00:36:50.51\00:36:51.94 Yeah, I mean. 00:36:52.11\00:36:53.14 I always want to go there. 00:36:53.14\00:36:54.44 So in terms of the chronology of lineage, our first series was on 00:36:54.81\00:36:59.08 the Reformation. 00:36:59.08\00:36:59.71 That was season one. 00:36:59.78\00:37:00.85 Yes. 00:37:00.85\00:37:01.35 We did that in 2017. 00:37:01.35\00:37:02.12 And that kind of started in the early church. 00:37:02.32\00:37:04.62 It went all the way through to John Wesley, the birth of 00:37:04.85\00:37:10.23 missions and so on. 00:37:10.23\00:37:14.36 need to do Adventism, which comes after that and early 00:37:14.36\00:37:19.33 religion in America. 00:37:19.33\00:37:23.04 We did the birth and the rise of Adventism in America and its 00:37:23.37\00:37:27.44 expansion around the world. 00:37:27.44\00:37:28.61 So that took us up to Ellen White and so on. 00:37:28.78\00:37:32.35 Then for our third season, we went back in time. 00:37:32.81\00:37:36.48 And this is kind of where I say, if we'd done it strategically, 00:37:37.22\00:37:39.92 we would have done that one probably first, but the Lord 00:37:39.92\00:37:43.06 just, His plans. 00:37:43.06\00:37:48.36 Conflict of the Ages. 00:37:48.43\00:37:49.30 Wow. 00:37:49.90\00:37:55.47 early Old Testament, then Prophets and Kings, Lateral 00:37:55.47\00:37:58.41 Testament. And we call them different. 00:37:58.71\00:37:59.87 So we called Patriarchs and Prophets, we call that from 00:37:59.91\00:38:02.98 creation to Kings, Pentecost, I mean, Prophets and Kings, we 00:38:02.98\00:38:06.72 call from Kings to... 00:38:06.72\00:38:08.12 Captivity. 00:38:08.12\00:38:08.75 Kings to Captivity. 00:38:08.92\00:38:09.82 Desire of Ages, we call from Manger to Messiah. 00:38:10.92\00:38:13.02 And then Acts of the Apostles, we call from Pentecost to 00:38:13.46\00:38:17.53 Patmos. Oh, I love the titles. 00:38:17.73\00:38:18.89 So Patmos was our final episode in that series that covered the 00:38:19.56\00:38:23.67 history of the Bible. 00:38:23.67\00:38:27.84 It was more telling the story of the Bible on location. 00:38:27.84\00:38:33.14 And so just summarizing, I mean, where there was irrefutable 00:38:34.31\00:38:37.68 archaeological evidence that I can point to, we'd reference it, 00:38:37.68\00:38:41.75 but it wasn't primarily aiming to be that. 00:38:41.75\00:38:43.92 It was more telling the story, the narrative of the great 00:38:44.02\00:38:47.16 controversy through Scripture from Genesis all the way through 00:38:47.16\00:38:51.33 to Revelation or Patmos. 00:38:51.33\00:38:55.46 But you know, one of the things that, and I believe somebody in 00:38:56.03\00:38:59.47 our audience might identify with this, I know we identify with 00:38:59.47\00:39:03.41 that, we can't wait to see where you're next in every episode. 00:39:03.41\00:39:06.01 I know. 00:39:06.01\00:39:06.51 Where are they now? 00:39:06.51\00:39:06.54 Where are they now? 00:39:07.41\00:39:08.41 And that's kind of like the drawing factors. 00:39:08.61\00:39:10.21 We love that. 00:39:10.61\00:39:11.15 Wow, we heard about that. 00:39:11.25\00:39:12.15 Look, it actually does exist. 00:39:12.18\00:39:14.05 And so that's just... 00:39:14.58\00:39:15.95 To us, that's one of the major things in that, I don't know, 00:39:15.95\00:39:20.62 I'm saying this in a studio, but we're not shooting what we're 00:39:20.62\00:39:23.49 shooting in a studio. 00:39:23.49\00:39:27.23 One of the draws, I think, is that we are on location. 00:39:27.56\00:39:30.13 And so for a lot of people, we recognize they can't go there. 00:39:30.47\00:39:32.73 A lot of people aren't able to go, or haven't the opportunity 00:39:32.73\00:39:36.20 to go to Patmos. 00:39:36.20\00:39:36.54 So by seeing the video and seeing it, it's a real place and 00:39:37.54\00:39:42.18 what it would have looked like when John was there. 00:39:42.18\00:39:44.75 So, you know, Patmos was special for me to go there and just kind 00:39:45.08\00:39:47.85 of, we were there on the Sabbath as well. 00:39:47.85\00:39:49.58 Oh, how special. 00:39:49.58\00:39:51.12 Sometimes you can read the Bible and you don't remember or 00:39:51.32\00:39:55.79 realize that these places exist even till today. 00:39:55.79\00:39:58.06 So just bringing that to life and showing the young people, 00:39:58.89\00:40:02.13 like it's not a book full of fables. 00:40:02.13\00:40:03.77 You know, Laodicea exists, Jerusalem exists, all of these 00:40:04.07\00:40:07.30 different locations in the Bible, they're there today. 00:40:07.30\00:40:09.50 And it was special for me to go to these places and document 00:40:09.94\00:40:14.28 them. But just bringing that to life is really what attracted us 00:40:15.04\00:40:17.81 to it. Oh, the Waldensees, you did that too, didn't you? 00:40:17.81\00:40:20.78 I love that. 00:40:21.02\00:40:22.05 So give us the lead into what we're gonna see on John on 00:40:22.42\00:40:24.79 Patmos. Yeah, so the Patmos one is the episode, it's the 00:40:25.32\00:40:28.52 conclusive episode, the final episode in that series. 00:40:28.52\00:40:31.26 And we're telling the story of John as he would have written 00:40:31.53\00:40:33.76 the book of Revelation, as he was isolated there on that rocky 00:40:33.76\00:40:37.87 island of Patmos. 00:40:37.87\00:40:38.27 Okay. 00:40:38.63\00:40:39.07 Well, let's look at this. 00:40:39.57\00:40:41.07 John on Patmos. 00:40:41.14\00:40:42.70 Let's listen. 00:40:42.70\00:40:43.04 John had a special place in Jesus' heart, for Scripture 00:41:05.86\00:41:10.37 notes that he was the disciple whom Jesus loved. 00:41:10.37\00:41:12.57 John shared experiences with Jesus in the Garden of 00:41:13.07\00:41:17.94 Gethsemane and on the Mount of Transfiguration. 00:41:17.94\00:41:19.34 And he was the disciple whom Jesus entrusted the care of his 00:41:19.51\00:41:23.85 mother to when he was on the cross. 00:41:23.85\00:41:25.25 John had defects of character that earned him the nickname, 00:41:25.85\00:41:30.25 the Son of Thunder. 00:41:30.25\00:41:35.26 coarse and rough edges. 00:41:35.26\00:41:36.76 John was ambitious for power, vengeful, critical, and 00:41:37.56\00:41:41.80 impetuous, yet he had great potential and would go on to be 00:41:42.00\00:41:46.10 the longest living disciple. 00:41:46.10\00:41:47.20 The book of Acts mentions that John was present during 00:41:55.08\00:41:59.08 Pentecost, but after that he barely gets a mention in 00:41:59.08\00:42:02.18 Scripture. Whilst the other disciples were literally travelling the then-known 00:42:02.78\00:42:05.85 world, Thomas was preaching the Gospel in India. 00:42:05.85\00:42:08.76 Peter was in Rome. 00:42:09.22\00:42:10.39 John has several decades of his life where there is very little 00:42:10.73\00:42:14.30 written. 00:42:14.30\00:42:15.00 He was looking after Jesus' mother. 00:42:15.16\00:42:17.17 It would not have been easy to stay at home, so to speak, but 00:42:18.07\00:42:22.50 John needed his own version of a wilderness experience. 00:42:22.50\00:42:26.17 We are told that Peter was crucified upside down. 00:42:33.65\00:42:36.55 Thomas was pierced with a spear. 00:42:36.55\00:42:38.65 Luke was hung from an olive tree, and Bartholomew, Simon, 00:42:39.09\00:42:43.96 Philip, and Jude were beheaded. 00:42:43.96\00:42:44.86 But John was the only apostle to die of natural causes. 00:42:45.16\00:42:48.76 This was, however, due to miraculous power of God, as 00:42:49.10\00:42:52.50 Tertullian, writing in AD 200, said, At Rome the apostle John, 00:42:52.50\00:42:56.84 having been immersed in hot oil, suffered no harm at all. 00:42:56.91\00:43:00.64 This attempt to boil him alive did not work and is alleged to 00:43:00.91\00:43:04.31 have happened behind me. 00:43:04.31\00:43:08.85 before being banished to Patmos. 00:43:08.85\00:43:11.22 This rocky island was chosen by the Roman government as a place 00:43:18.43\00:43:22.26 of banishment for criminals, and here, away from the busyness of 00:43:22.26\00:43:26.23 life, John received visions from heaven that outlined the closing 00:43:26.63\00:43:30.54 scenes of this earth's history. 00:43:30.54\00:43:32.07 Here, amidst the rocks and cliffs, John held communion with 00:43:33.27\00:43:37.81 God as he was able to meditate on the Book of Nature and marvel 00:43:37.81\00:43:41.85 at God's goodness. 00:43:41.85\00:43:46.82 thought by some to be past useful service, an old man. 00:43:47.12\00:43:50.96 But it was here that he received more communication from heaven 00:43:51.19\00:43:54.40 than he had during all his former years. 00:43:54.40\00:43:56.83 The Book of Revelation The Book of Revelation is written in 00:43:57.87\00:44:06.54 signs and symbols and needs to be decoded in order to be fully 00:44:06.54\00:44:10.78 understood. The purpose of this is twofold. 00:44:11.21\00:44:13.21 Firstly, to protect and preserve it from the ruling power in 00:44:13.78\00:44:17.45 John's day, and secondly, to ensure that those who wish to 00:44:17.45\00:44:21.56 understand it actually study and dig deep. 00:44:21.56\00:44:24.19 Revelation contains many messages that have relevance for 00:44:24.76\00:44:28.90 our time today, and it has helped, and continues to help, 00:44:28.90\00:44:32.77 the church to understand where it comes from and where it's 00:44:32.77\00:44:35.77 going. If you have not yet read the Book of Revelation, I urge 00:44:36.17\00:44:40.34 you to start, for it begins with a blessing to all those who read 00:44:40.44\00:44:44.68 and understand it. 00:44:44.68\00:44:45.05 Here on the Isle of Patmos, John finally had time to write, and 00:44:52.25\00:44:56.76 it is here where he wrote the Gospel of John and also the Book 00:44:56.76\00:45:00.36 of Revelation. 00:45:00.36\00:45:05.00 himself and the Christian church in ages to follow. 00:45:05.00\00:45:08.37 It is traditionally believed that he received his visions in 00:45:08.94\00:45:12.04 the Cave of the Apocalypse, but we really don't know where he 00:45:12.04\00:45:15.34 received his visions. 00:45:15.34\00:45:19.55 barren place but also a beautiful place and a place 00:45:19.55\00:45:23.59 where John was able to commune with God. 00:45:23.59\00:45:25.35 Here on the Isle of Patmos, John experienced trials and 00:45:33.36\00:45:37.53 obstacles, but these could not shake his faith. 00:45:37.90\00:45:39.77 He had developed a deep and a pure love for God, and urged in 00:45:40.10\00:45:44.17 his writing, "'Beloved, let us love God,' and reiterated the 00:45:44.17\00:45:48.64 point that we ought not love in word, but in deed. 00:45:48.64\00:45:51.38 John lived a long and faithful life, and at the end of his life 00:45:51.81\00:45:55.45 he came to realize that the most important thing is to love God 00:45:55.45\00:46:00.06 and love one another. 00:46:00.06\00:46:04.86 another, as I have loved you.' And later on he said, "'Beloved, 00:46:04.86\00:46:09.53 let us love one another, for love is of God.' May we be faithful to God and 00:46:09.53\00:46:15.17 serve him amidst the trials and adverse circumstances that come 00:46:15.17\00:46:18.87 our way, and may we reflect on and live out the words of John 00:46:18.87\00:46:24.25 to love one another.'" Well, the reason I like Revelation is because it says, I, 00:46:24.25\00:46:44.70 John, saw. 00:46:44.73\00:46:45.57 But no, it's a beautiful book, and the sad reality is many in 00:46:47.77\00:46:51.94 the Christian world think it is a book that's still closed, but 00:46:51.94\00:46:55.78 as we've seen by illustration, we know it's not a closed book. 00:46:55.78\00:46:58.28 Its very name means Revelation, to reveal. 00:46:58.51\00:47:02.15 How touching is this for you because you're bringing us into 00:47:03.15\00:47:06.92 this vicariously, but what is it doing to you while you're there? 00:47:06.92\00:47:10.43 I know. 00:47:10.53\00:47:11.13 To me it was special, 00:47:11.43\00:47:12.13 some sites are more special than others to visit, and to me, 00:47:15.43\00:47:18.33 Patmos was one of the most special because it's the place where John wrote the 00:47:18.33\00:47:21.40 book of Revelation, and it's the place where you read, I was in 00:47:21.40\00:47:24.57 the Spirit on the Lord today. 00:47:24.57\00:47:25.47 Oh, yeah. 00:47:26.34\00:47:29.11 There is technically, I mean, there is traditionally a cave 00:47:29.31\00:47:33.78 where they say he had it, but I'm like, how do they know he 00:47:33.78\00:47:35.98 had the cave? They built a monastery on top of it. 00:47:36.18\00:47:37.75 Right, declaimed it. 00:47:37.85\00:47:39.22 I like to imagine he was on a rocky edge somewhere, thank you, 00:47:39.25\00:47:43.22 me too. On a beach maybe somewhere, and he goes into 00:47:43.43\00:47:47.00 vision, and so we actually went there on a Friday and we left on 00:47:47.00\00:47:49.56 the Sunday, so sandwiched in the middle, we had Sabbath there, 00:47:49.56\00:47:52.83 and it was just special to just meditate, read the book of Revelation, have some quiet 00:47:52.83\00:47:59.37 time, you know, go on a hike there and just be like, this is 00:47:59.37\00:48:04.55 the place where Revelation was written, and it's the place 00:48:04.55\00:48:08.85 where God met with him. 00:48:08.85\00:48:09.08 Yes. 00:48:09.28\00:48:14.12 them, they say traditionally this happened, whereas you can't 00:48:14.12\00:48:18.03 move the island, you know that that is the island of Patmos, it 00:48:18.03\00:48:22.76 did happen there, and so it does, it does make an impact on 00:48:22.76\00:48:27.84 you when you go to places I think that you know are authentic, and you know for sure 00:48:27.84\00:48:31.41 something of importance happened there. 00:48:31.41\00:48:33.21 As you mentioned, I feel like I'm there with you on that 00:48:33.21\00:48:33.24 journey, and I'm sure many of you feel that same way, like you're there, come, come 00:48:37.35\00:48:41.02 with me, and it's just beautiful. 00:48:41.02\00:48:42.75 It was great to be able to share that with other people. 00:48:42.85\00:48:45.49 That people see. 00:48:46.39\00:48:47.22 That's wonderful, and we want to remind our audience about. 00:48:47.56\00:48:50.59 Oh, yeah, if you want to write in, or if you want to text, if 00:48:50.99\00:48:55.40 you want to text us, you can text us at 618 -228-3975 if you 00:48:55.40\00:49:00.87 have a question for these two wonderful gentlemen, or you can send an email live at 00:49:00.87\00:49:06.41 3ABN.org. 00:49:06.41\00:49:08.48 So, send some questions in. 00:49:08.48\00:49:10.75 You know, when I look at the evolution, the growth, the 00:49:11.35\00:49:16.69 expansion of this project, at what point did you realize how 00:49:16.69\00:49:21.96 large the project is, and how did it metamorphosize from, you 00:49:21.96\00:49:24.96 know, let's do that to where it is today. 00:49:24.96\00:49:26.90 Some of that, to a certain degree, happened when we 00:49:29.96\00:49:35.17 released the first episode. 00:49:35.17\00:49:35.74 Because for me, I'm like, I'm recording a video on history, 00:49:36.60\00:49:42.38 and I had no idea how Clive was going to edit it. 00:49:42.38\00:49:45.15 No idea. 00:49:45.95\00:49:46.75 He's not showing me, oh, this is, I just spoke to video, I 00:49:47.68\00:49:50.82 assume he's just going to have the video of me talking to the 00:49:50.82\00:49:53.79 camera, and that's it. 00:49:53.79\00:49:56.56 boom, boom, boom, you know, as it is with the drone shots. 00:49:56.73\00:50:00.06 Oh, yeah, yeah. 00:50:00.46\00:50:01.10 This, this, this is pretty good. 00:50:01.30\00:50:03.60 But then when we released it, when I first kind of got an idea 00:50:06.00\00:50:11.71 was when the algorithm was different then, when on Facebook, it just got 00:50:11.71\00:50:15.64 like, it just got share after share after share after share 00:50:15.64\00:50:19.11 after share. 00:50:19.11\00:50:22.92 just like, oh, wow. 00:50:22.92\00:50:24.22 There's something to this. 00:50:24.49\00:50:25.82 Like, maybe this is scratching an itch that we didn't know was 00:50:26.05\00:50:29.72 as itchy as we thought it was. 00:50:29.72\00:50:30.69 And I think it did, it wasn't just the graphics or the 00:50:31.46\00:50:37.47 visuals, but I think the idea, and this really is what inspired the idea of lineage 00:50:37.47\00:50:41.47 and has metamorphosed to a certain degree, the idea of 00:50:41.47\00:50:46.07 understanding our identity through our history. 00:50:46.07\00:50:47.78 Right. 00:50:48.18\00:50:49.01 And I think this is something very important. 00:50:49.21\00:50:51.08 The world is going through an identity crisis. 00:50:51.25\00:50:53.38 Young people are going through an identity crisis. 00:50:54.32\00:50:56.35 I mean, the causes of that we can debate on and there's many 00:50:56.48\00:50:59.82 factors as to why there's such an identity crisis, particularly 00:50:59.82\00:51:03.32 amongst teenagers and young adults. 00:51:03.32\00:51:05.56 But understanding where we come from and what our heritage and 00:51:06.43\00:51:09.43 what our background and history is, is one of the ways to help 00:51:09.43\00:51:13.03 us understand what our identity is today. 00:51:13.03\00:51:15.14 And I think without knowing it at the time, lineage helped with 00:51:15.47\00:51:19.31 that. It's like, oh, that's where we come from. 00:51:19.37\00:51:21.28 So that's part of who I am today. 00:51:21.68\00:51:23.48 And it really, and so, back to your question as to where do we 00:51:23.61\00:51:27.52 know it would kind of grow. 00:51:27.52\00:51:28.35 Oh, yeah. 00:51:28.35\00:51:34.09 as we have ideas, you know, creatives getting ideas and as 00:51:34.09\00:51:38.79 the Lord provided a little bit of resources to do it like, 00:51:38.79\00:51:41.30 well, as He provides resources and as we have ideas, let's 00:51:41.30\00:51:44.20 just, let's keep going. 00:51:44.20\00:51:45.03 And so, you know, we kept going, there's ideas and there's a 00:51:45.53\00:51:48.64 little bit of, you know, resources to keep going. 00:51:48.64\00:51:50.44 And so, we've just kind of carried that on as we have 00:51:50.97\00:51:56.01 ideas. And so, we started as a project, but now we've moved 00:51:56.08\00:52:00.55 into the ministry phase. 00:52:00.55\00:52:01.75 Yeah, that kind of happened. 00:52:01.98\00:52:02.98 So, we were a project in 2017. 00:52:02.98\00:52:05.19 We became a ministry towards the end of 18, 20, around 2019. 00:52:05.59\00:52:12.09 And that's when we kind of said, become our own entity. 00:52:12.83\00:52:15.53 Now, you did the whole book of great controversy. 00:52:16.13\00:52:20.24 We did do that, yeah, every chapter. 00:52:20.60\00:52:22.54 Now, some people haven't even read the whole book and you did 00:52:23.34\00:52:26.94 a video series. 00:52:26.94\00:52:28.58 Some people have said that to us. 00:52:28.64\00:52:29.88 They've said, I've always tried to read this, but, you know, 00:52:30.05\00:52:34.62 I've read the destruction of Jerusalem, chapter one, like 20 00:52:34.62\00:52:37.42 times, but never can get past that. 00:52:37.42\00:52:38.55 But watching the videos, they were able to get through the 00:52:38.89\00:52:41.29 whole book just by summarizing it up in a video. 00:52:41.29\00:52:44.66 How long each episode? 00:52:44.66\00:52:46.09 Five minutes? 00:52:47.50\00:52:48.26 Most five or six minutes. 00:52:48.86\00:52:50.00 A few of the chapters of great controversy, a few of them were 00:52:50.10\00:52:52.73 longer than our typical, some of them went to seven or eight 00:52:52.73\00:52:54.90 minutes, but normally it's five or six minutes, generally 00:52:54.90\00:52:58.51 speaking, and that's kind of been the sweet spot that we've kind of settled on. 00:52:59.37\00:53:02.71 How long does it take to do five or six minutes? 00:53:02.84\00:53:05.01 A day now. 00:53:05.35\00:53:06.08 About a day, about a day, yeah. 00:53:06.41\00:53:07.95 It's interesting you say that because the great controversy 00:53:08.48\00:53:10.89 sometimes was a little bit more challenging because especially 00:53:10.89\00:53:14.72 the first part of the book, you have actual locations, you have, 00:53:14.72\00:53:19.63 you know, the French Reformation. 00:53:19.63\00:53:20.90 Well, we're going to do that in France, we're going to do that 00:53:21.00\00:53:22.60 in Paris. 00:53:22.60\00:53:24.40 The later chapters, you know, the second coming or, you know, 00:53:24.50\00:53:28.27 some of the later ones, where do you do those? 00:53:28.27\00:53:29.84 So we had to be a little bit creative as to where we shot 00:53:29.94\00:53:33.91 some of those things to kind of bring them to life. 00:53:33.91\00:53:35.31 So we did Heaven in Hawaii. 00:53:35.78\00:53:36.88 Oh! 00:53:37.41\00:53:37.75 That's a good place to do Heaven. 00:53:39.01\00:53:40.22 We did Hell in Hawaii too. 00:53:40.22\00:53:40.25 Yeah. 00:53:41.62\00:53:42.08 You did Hell too? 00:53:42.08\00:53:42.58 The Volcanoes. 00:53:42.58\00:53:42.62 Oh, the Volcanoes, yes. 00:53:43.25\00:53:45.15 You did Hell too. 00:53:45.55\00:53:47.06 Interesting. 00:53:47.56\00:53:48.72 Right, because you have the Volcanoes. 00:53:48.72\00:53:50.56 You have the Volcanoes, right. 00:53:50.56\00:53:51.59 We're able to hit two birds with one stone. 00:53:51.96\00:53:54.46 Heaven and Hell. 00:53:54.56\00:53:55.16 People that have gone to Hawaii probably said that's true. 00:53:56.83\00:53:58.90 You could have Heaven and Hell in Hawaii. 00:53:59.57\00:54:01.07 But the reality of it is, the community of people that are 00:54:01.84\00:54:05.37 watching Lineage are being affected in a positive way. 00:54:05.37\00:54:08.74 It's kind of like, wow. 00:54:08.81\00:54:10.35 And for us, honestly, our weeks are so busy when Saturday 00:54:10.88\00:54:15.05 afternoon comes at home. 00:54:15.05\00:54:15.95 And even if we're maybe finishing lunch at home or 00:54:16.69\00:54:21.06 whatever, the time it comes on is just perfect. 00:54:21.06\00:54:22.56 It really pulls us into it. 00:54:22.76\00:54:24.16 It's going to be wonderful. 00:54:24.56\00:54:25.69 And we've walked past each other at ASI. 00:54:26.36\00:54:28.26 You're busy at ASI, I'm busy at ASI. 00:54:28.30\00:54:30.83 But those who are watching the program, and I could imagine 00:54:31.03\00:54:34.90 that you probably have stories that you can tell that when you 00:54:34.90\00:54:39.47 rewind the videotape, no pun intended, we don't do videotapes 00:54:39.47\00:54:42.78 any longer, but when you rewind your journeys, you've seen miracles along the way. 00:54:42.78\00:54:47.68 Can you think of one of those miracles? 00:54:48.58\00:54:49.95 You might want to share this side of the program before we go 00:54:50.12\00:54:52.92 to our second half. 00:54:52.92\00:55:00.46 in England, we call it the boot. 00:55:00.93\00:55:02.33 But over here, you call it the trunk. 00:55:02.86\00:55:04.53 So we put the stuff in the back, and the car was sealed up. 00:55:05.13\00:55:08.37 We had cameras, drone, laptops, all in the back. 00:55:08.80\00:55:12.87 And we went off to film. 00:55:13.27\00:55:14.51 We went to the Vatican to film, and we were out for most of the 00:55:14.98\00:55:18.51 afternoon. 00:55:18.51\00:55:19.01 By the time we came back, it was dark. 00:55:19.35\00:55:20.95 And we walked up towards the car, and the window had been 00:55:21.35\00:55:24.79 smashed in. Oh no. 00:55:24.79\00:55:25.49 And we're thinking, oh no. 00:55:26.02\00:55:27.42 And then we saw that the seat had been put down, so whoever 00:55:27.49\00:55:31.63 has gone in has gone and taken all our stuff in the back. 00:55:31.63\00:55:33.46 Then we turned the corner and looked in, the window smashed, 00:55:33.90\00:55:37.93 the seat is down, and all our stuff is in plain sight for 00:55:37.93\00:55:41.84 everybody to see. 00:55:41.84\00:55:46.17 laptop, all on full view. 00:55:46.17\00:55:48.01 So even if the thieves... 00:55:48.28\00:55:49.41 Once the seat was down. 00:55:49.41\00:55:49.91 Once the seat was down. 00:55:49.98\00:55:50.81 Right. 00:55:50.81\00:55:56.02 walking down the street had plain sight view of all of our 00:55:56.02\00:56:00.22 stuff, and nothing got taken. 00:56:00.22\00:56:01.02 Angels blocked it. 00:56:01.32\00:56:02.16 Angels blocked it. 00:56:02.46\00:56:03.29 The value of what was in that trunk is inestimable. 00:56:03.59\00:56:07.10 Yeah, well, you can put a value on... 00:56:07.20\00:56:09.73 On equipment. 00:56:09.73\00:56:13.13 And how do you get that back? 00:56:13.27\00:56:14.50 You have to go do all that again. 00:56:14.57\00:56:15.84 But everything was there, nothing was missing. 00:56:16.17\00:56:18.61 I could only imagine your heart rate went up and went down. 00:56:18.74\00:56:24.15 It's like, you lean on the car and think, thank you, Lord. 00:56:25.81\00:56:29.85 That is a miracle, honestly, because the enemy would do 00:56:30.22\00:56:32.85 whatever he can to stop such a project, but the Lord was showing you that the 00:56:32.85\00:56:36.02 Lord is with you on the front lines and is really, really with 00:56:36.02\00:56:39.69 you. Now, we want to tease a little bit to the second hour 00:56:39.89\00:56:42.43 because just to remind our viewers again, you can text us at 618-228-3975, that is, 00:56:42.43\00:56:47.67 if you have a question or comment, or you can send a 00:56:47.74\00:56:51.04 question by email live at 3ABN.tv. 00:56:51.04\00:56:53.54 And in the second hour, we're going to have some more videos 00:56:54.04\00:56:56.78 about the French Reformation Liberty of Conscience Threatened, which is a 00:56:56.78\00:57:00.52 very big issue today, a snippet on AI Translation Episode 00:57:00.52\00:57:05.19 because we're living in a day and age where... 00:57:05.19\00:57:06.32 Yeah, it's fascinating how we're using AI to translate into 00:57:06.32\00:57:10.16 different languages. 00:57:10.16\00:57:10.96 So, you know, I'm speaking of the languages, but I'm not 00:57:11.93\00:57:14.60 speaking them. 00:57:14.60\00:57:18.50 places as well. 00:57:18.50\00:57:22.04 Portuguese, and we're going to talk about that the second hour, 00:57:22.04\00:57:25.91 and AI is phenomenal, but you know, you've just gotten a chance to peek into 00:57:25.91\00:57:29.74 the lineage window. 00:57:29.74\00:57:30.81 If you are a follower, then you know, but if you're not, I think 00:57:31.01\00:57:33.01 you're going to become one. 00:57:33.01\00:57:33.85 And we have a second hour where there's a lot more to cover, a 00:57:34.35\00:57:36.89 lot more questions, a lot more miracle stories. 00:57:36.89\00:57:38.59 It's going to be good as it has been, so don't go away. 00:57:39.55\00:57:42.22 We are going to be right back in just a few moments. 00:57:42.59\00:57:44.43
