>> you know? >> Welcome back to our special two-hour LIVE 00:00:11.54\00:00:16.85 program. 3ABN Today Live. This is a live program and you are sending in your questions. Thank 00:00:16.85\00:00:20.85 you very much. I'm Jill Meagher County and I'm here with my sister received after end, the 00:00:20.85\00:00:26.29 child Impact International team just want to give in disclaimer here. We did it to be in the 00:00:26.29\00:00:32.33 first hour. We're going to do it one more time here. We're talking about a sensitive 00:00:32.33\00:00:35.06 topic tonight. We're talking about the concept of child trafficking and rescuing those 00:00:35.06\00:00:42.04 children prevention for that in certain countries and getting 00:00:42.04\00:00:46.11 them out of those situations into safe places, safe houses where they can learn a trade 00:00:46.11\00:00:50.68 where they can go to school where they can be educated and have a life WABC bringing 00:00:50.68\00:00:58.75 counselors in or I'm learning about the who Jesus is and how he can bring healing in their 00:00:58.75\00:01:04.03 lives. So if you have young children in the home, this might not be a program for them. So we 00:01:04.03\00:01:07.76 just want to give you that disclaimer. We have some sensitive topics will be 00:01:07.76\00:01:11.17 talking about here this evening. And if you are just joining us, 00:01:11.17\00:01:15.34 our reminder, we have Jason Churchwell and doctor Thom Evans and Ashley Blake with us. So so 00:01:15.34\00:01:21.98 delighted that you all are here. We believe in the Ministry of Child Impact International Y E 00:01:21.98\00:01:28.35 you are doing who we're talking tonight specifically about I 00:01:28.35\00:01:31.55 call it an arm of their ministry. You're certain part of their ministry, which is 00:01:31.55\00:01:35.96 operation Child Rescue. And we were talking before the break about this incredible project at 00:01:35.96\00:01:40.63 Riverside Farm in situ in Zambia and Reese II asked a question that we want to break. So ask a 00:01:40.63\00:01:46.50 I was just kind of curious, like how long? >> I'm somewhat stay 00:01:46.50\00:01:50.74 with you. How long do you see it takes? Maybe that they're safe to launch or, you know, is there 00:01:50.74\00:01:55.18 like a cut off point that they have? Sure. I there becomes an age where you have younger and 00:01:55.18\00:02:00.28 older children mixing together where it's best afield are ones 00:02:00.28\00:02:03.62 move on and >> start a career move on with their life. And so certainly have project like are 00:02:03.62\00:02:09.22 one in Tanzania with the Falco's children home that were very involved with where they 00:02:09.22\00:02:15.16 Clearly state is that we want these kids to be able to stand on their own by the time they 00:02:15.16\00:02:19.33 leave here. So from the time they come, that's the goal. And that's why sustainability 00:02:19.33\00:02:26.78 teaching skills us on this. So important when we were just in India in November, we had a 00:02:26.78\00:02:33.15 number of recent graduates that came back to meet our team and 00:02:33.15\00:02:38.35 they were in all sorts of careers. One of them is a doing a lot of, I guess, cooking and 00:02:38.35\00:02:42.79 some chef work in a hotel and he wanted to cook for us the whole weekend. And the food, of 00:02:42.79\00:02:48.53 course, is great. But you have people in the counting careers medical I think I shared hero 3 00:02:48.53\00:02:53.44 being before. I'm Sean Engine booster. A sponsored a child through child impact and she 00:02:53.44\00:02:58.44 is now a nurse overseen a couple of different districts. They're just very proud of the 00:02:58.44\00:03:03.78 accomplishment. and so and so are we. And it's really nice to be able to us, you know, 00:03:03.78\00:03:07.75 tell a child we're so proud of you and how God has blessed in 00:03:07.75\00:03:14.12 your life. >> Absolutely. Let's go to couple of questions and just want to give you the 00:03:14.12\00:03:16.49 contact information for 3, the end. If you have a question pertaining to this through the 00:03:16.49\00:03:21.63 topic here tonight, you can Texas in 6, 1, 8, 2, 2, 8, 3, 9, 7, 5, That number again is 00:03:21.63\00:03:29.30 618-228-3975, or you can email us at Live L I V E at 3ABN Dot TV l I V E at 3ABN got TV. 00:03:29.30\00:03:38.75 This one is from Bran from Alabama. Is it possible to bring some of the children to 00:03:38.75\00:03:43.02 the U.S. to be fostered or adopted by Americans? >> Wow. 00:03:43.02\00:03:48.06 That is a great question. That is not the business that child impact as I think in, you know, 00:03:48.06\00:03:54.40 it even in the context of our own adoption for the 2 boys, there was an effort by the 00:03:54.40\00:03:58.30 government and the country that we are in to find the family members to find homes 00:03:58.30\00:04:03.71 there in that that, you know, and that is similar cultural context. That's the easiest 00:04:03.71\00:04:08.98 for the child, isn't But I was attending church, a coastal community church. One of my I 00:04:08.98\00:04:14.02 think maybe my for 7th there there was a fellowship meal and I set down by this lady 00:04:14.02\00:04:20.09 who had adopted in her 2 adopted children right there from Tanzania and one of our 00:04:20.09\00:04:23.73 projects us on that list. You have now is the is there because of the conversation 00:04:23.73\00:04:28.80 with this lady and she well, they ran that project, adopted them, brought them to the 00:04:28.80\00:04:34.57 states and other classmates with my boys. And so it does happen. And we do have one of 00:04:34.57\00:04:40.51 our projects. We have a board member that in the process of adopting 2 children from that 00:04:40.51\00:04:45.88 project. One of the boy she's adopting was thrown into toilet and has acid burns his 00:04:45.88\00:04:50.99 body from that. she went to visit this project and was so moved. She said, I think 00:04:50.99\00:04:57.96 initially they thought maybe they're the top one and they have teenagers that are, you 00:04:57.96\00:05:02.53 know, ready to leave the nest almost and they're ready to start all over again and say 00:05:02.53\00:05:07.24 we're going to bring 2 babies into our home is just incredible. When you see that 00:05:07.24\00:05:09.67 kind of commitment. And so we would be happy for individuals to contact. And I'm certainly 00:05:09.67\00:05:14.78 willing to share my own journey that way. A show with a number of people how you can 00:05:14.78\00:05:19.28 get involved in international adoption. But we only have one project right now with child 00:05:19.28\00:05:23.42 impact. We're kind of piloting that. Okay. If it's successful, 00:05:23.42\00:05:29.32 we'll open that up and will make that available and go into that area. So we want to see how it 00:05:29.32\00:05:33.86 works for a board member. First, but I do have a path for international adoption and I'm 00:05:33.86\00:05:37.53 happy to visit with people about. >> That's fabulous. So people can contact. You would 00:05:37.53\00:05:41.97 e-mail me the best are calling the office. >> Yeah. Probably to 00:05:41.97\00:05:45.07 call the office and that can touch it. >> But that number up, we have that number for the 00:05:45.07\00:05:50.95 office. That is 4 to 3. I got to see it here at 9, 1, 0, 0, 6, 6, 7. That's 4, 2, 3, 9, 1, 0, 0, 00:05:50.95\00:06:00.72 6, 6, 7, That's the office number for child impact. If you have questions about that 00:06:00.72\00:06:06.16 international adoption or you want to sponsor children or you want to get involved in 00:06:06.16\00:06:11.23 the Ethiopia project or this and be a project to Riverside Farm or any of those avenues 00:06:11.23\00:06:14.74 or you can go to their website. Child Impact Dot org. That's child impact dot, or 00:06:14.74\00:06:21.08 you can email them has it help at child impact Dot Org. That's helped a GOP. A child 00:06:21.08\00:06:29.02 impact Dot org. This was for Ashley. this is a question for the college student. Ashley, 00:06:29.02\00:06:37.53 I'm sure college is busy. Why do you decide to work for child impact on top of school? 00:06:37.53\00:06:42.43 And what is your favorite part of the job? comes John. That's those are all good questions. 00:06:42.43\00:06:50.31 Well, the easy answer is, you know, having a job is nice. Of course, I think what I was a 00:06:50.31\00:06:55.78 student missionary at Riverside, I you know, I really discovered 00:06:55.78\00:07:01.58 that I enjoyed working in ministry. There's something especially for feeling about it. 00:07:01.58\00:07:05.52 >> For working for like a for-profit company for the whole goal is just, you know, 00:07:05.52\00:07:09.89 about making money and like pleasing your customers or whatever. Some of the when 00:07:09.89\00:07:14.83 you're working in ministry on is easy to align that with like the 00:07:14.83\00:07:17.70 spiritual journey that I'm on because I feel like, you know, it's it's an avenue for the Holy 00:07:17.70\00:07:23.51 Spirit work through me in some way. And the county major. So you can work through me with my 00:07:23.51\00:07:30.75 maybe a county schools, a marine in class and help on the finance 00:07:30.75\00:07:36.65 and of things. But and you, I think my favorite part about working for child impact, 00:07:36.65\00:07:41.62 probably the relationships I've built on the team. I have to say. >> I feel like we have a 00:07:41.62\00:07:45.03 pretty close knit team man. I really like a lot of people that work there. It's been 00:07:45.03\00:07:50.07 such a joy to get to know them and kind of sharing that passion 00:07:50.07\00:07:56.37 from issues. So. >> Oh, yeah, I my office is in a place where I can kind of hear when the phone 00:07:56.37\00:07:59.54 calls coming in. And Ashley has such an enthusiasm in her voice because she's been a part of 00:07:59.54\00:08:05.55 what child impact is doing. She's experienced it and we have another young lady that 00:08:05.55\00:08:09.45 just joined our team and sponsorship and she spent what is it 2 or 3 years southeast 00:08:09.45\00:08:15.19 Asia, Laos and Cambodia. And there's just a life that comes from when you know the 00:08:15.19\00:08:21.73 difference it makes when you've seen it firsthand, it's just going like this board 00:08:21.73\00:08:25.10 member that goes over there to visit one of our projects to do some dental work and comes 00:08:25.10\00:08:28.80 back saying I want to adopt 2 kids and that we can't wait to go back again. That's 00:08:28.80\00:08:35.54 beautiful. Omar question here. This child impact helping rescue 00:08:35.54\00:08:39.08 boys as well. And that's of great. This comes from Jay. That's a great question. We've 00:08:39.08\00:08:42.08 been talking a lot about rescuing girls. >> Child marriage or prostitution. What 00:08:42.08\00:08:48.46 about boys? >> We don't have any specifically focused on that. I would say Ethiopia would 00:08:48.46\00:08:52.66 probably be the closest where these kids are. they're all referred to us by the local 00:08:52.66\00:08:56.50 kind of social services, 2 silly Mons to orphanages take them in. 00:08:56.50\00:09:03.97 And these are kids who are at risk like you said of going and being recruited into the civil 00:09:03.97\00:09:10.05 war. There. But nothing specifically targeted at boys. This is an issue I think about 4 00:09:10.05\00:09:17.92 out of 5 kids who are trafficked are girls. And so we've kind of gone after that lane are 00:09:17.92\00:09:20.69 certainly open to it. If anyone out there has a project they need funding with or a passion 00:09:20.69\00:09:26.23 for that, we can partner with them. Certainly something that we're open to and would love 00:09:26.23\00:09:30.13 to be involved with in the future. We had somebody come to us with the project and say 00:09:30.13\00:09:34.40 this is a great project. And you know that Jason's responses kind 00:09:34.40\00:09:39.87 of how great is it? Are you willing to help support Yep, Put some seed money in to get that 00:09:39.87\00:09:48.08 going. That's right that. Let's go back to Zambia I think we have some more stories from 00:09:48.08\00:09:53.36 there. Maybe some pictures. Yeah, there some photos of a young lady that we But I think 00:09:53.36\00:09:57.83 >> as we went around to the different there's a gathering place is really the water pump 00:09:57.83\00:10:03.97 where you go and gather water to take back for your your home or 00:10:03.97\00:10:07.57 for your family. >> And so here's one of those locations, wherever there's a water pump. 00:10:07.57\00:10:11.27 There's people in. It's young people in girls typically that go and and take these buckets 00:10:11.27\00:10:15.98 and then they put them up on their head and they carry them along the girl. The pink right 00:10:15.98\00:10:21.75 was kind of a leader these girls. We begin to engage with their son Arctic yourself very 00:10:21.75\00:10:28.96 well. And here she is carrying a bucket of water. the team at we just one away. And just said 00:10:28.96\00:10:35.43 there's something special about that girl. We need to go and see what's going on there. 00:10:35.43\00:10:39.80 And so they went back out and they found her again. I mean, we bumpy dirt roads and, you 00:10:39.80\00:10:42.94 know, all through to get to where she was at, they found her again and they found out 00:10:42.94\00:10:47.48 she had been able to finish high school, but she hadn't been able 00:10:47.48\00:10:51.31 to continue. And that was her dream was to do something additional with her life to have 00:10:51.31\00:10:56.99 a bigger vision for life. And so they said, how would you like to be part of our tailoring 00:10:56.99\00:11:01.12 program? Riverside? So literally within 2 weeks of meeting her, she's in the tailor a program 00:11:01.12\00:11:06.66 right there. Riverside, and we have a picture. The first one of the first dress that she made. 00:11:06.66\00:11:10.70 So that's the shot right That's name is mercy. And it just shows 00:11:10.70\00:11:15.80 how you know how quickly life can change, you know, from like, I don't have any hope for 00:11:15.80\00:11:19.54 further education to now. I have a skill to make beautiful dresses and they have a uniform 00:11:19.54\00:11:25.71 shop there at Riverside. And so these kids can actually work and make uniforms that, you know, 00:11:25.71\00:11:29.25 the girls and >> Do they get their own sewing machine like 00:11:29.25\00:11:33.79 later they can take as far as a traitor. Know, it's just we have some projects where we do that 00:11:33.79\00:11:39.56 we did that certainly in India. That was part of the strategy with that particular one. I'm 00:11:39.56\00:11:43.53 not sure what that will look it, riverside, but we we do have a new initiative. Maybe 00:11:43.53\00:11:48.74 Jason could share with what that is with. These girls are that are already caught in the 00:11:48.74\00:11:53.98 trafficking. >> So we wanted a more like direct rescue project 00:11:53.98\00:11:58.71 to get into Riverside girls have to pass state exam kind of it's 00:11:58.71\00:12:05.12 a state exam, but >> I think, is a specific exam that Riverside has. Yeah, you have to be at a 00:12:05.12\00:12:08.82 certain academic level to get into the school. And so a lot of girls that they find they've 00:12:08.82\00:12:13.86 been out of school for a while. And so unfortunately, they don't pass the test and are able to 00:12:13.86\00:12:16.56 get into class. In fact, I just got an even if I told you guys this, I just kind of 00:12:16.56\00:12:23.54 request this week, a special request, a note written about a girl who came. They found 00:12:23.54\00:12:29.48 fit all the criteria for a vulnerable girl who didn't pass the test. I'm going back 00:12:29.48\00:12:34.38 home to her village and she studied for the last year, came back and passed the test 00:12:34.38\00:12:41.09 pass exams and they said would you make an exception and bring this girl? And so the 00:12:41.09\00:12:45.13 right number, 36, now he's number right now. Yeah. And so I said absolutely. She studied 00:12:45.13\00:12:52.90 hard. She worked hard. Let's put her in the program right now. But what we wanted to do 00:12:52.90\00:12:57.87 is an intervention, a real rescue for girls who are actually being traffic right 00:12:57.87\00:13:01.01 now in the streets. They can't pass this test. And so what we've done, Craig, came by our 00:13:01.01\00:13:07.78 office. We sat down kind of had a brainstorming session, said what can we do for these 00:13:07.78\00:13:11.12 girls? We want to be involved in the rescue. And so they're going 00:13:11.12\00:13:17.99 to pilot a 5 month program at Riverside. That will be a mixture of tailoring and 00:13:17.99\00:13:23.53 mentoring. And so for 5 months, they're going to mentor these girls in all the subjects so 00:13:23.53\00:13:26.74 they can pass this test. Hopefully at the end of 5 months, but teach them the skill 00:13:26.74\00:13:31.64 of tailoring so that after 5 months as they decide, I don't want to go to school. It's not 00:13:31.64\00:13:35.88 really for me. I'd rather have my own business. They're old enough. Well, give them the 00:13:35.88\00:13:40.28 sewing machine and then they can start a home tailoring business. There's plenty of work that they 00:13:40.28\00:13:44.19 can do and making dresses and uniforms. They're in NBA. The other option will be they can 00:13:44.19\00:13:48.46 do it another 5 months if they're getting close, we're going to have 2 sessions a 00:13:48.46\00:13:52.69 year. And so we hope to have 10 to 12 girls and each session. We're going to pilot 00:13:52.69\00:13:58.23 that in the next 2 weeks there out interviewing for the first batch of girls for that. And 00:13:58.23\00:14:02.47 so that's a new project only cost us about $1000 per girl for the whole 5 months. a 00:14:02.47\00:14:07.84 large majority of that is the sewing machine. So we want to be able to provide that sewing 00:14:07.84\00:14:11.08 machine for them at the end, if they don't go into school. Our hope, of course, for them 00:14:11.08\00:14:16.15 is that those girls were transferred into this new dorm that we're building that will 00:14:16.15\00:14:18.99 be done this fall and they'll be part of those 100 girls. But if they decide not to will 00:14:18.99\00:14:24.79 give them the sewing machine and help them get set up and that home business. So we're 00:14:24.79\00:14:27.23 really excited about the new project. >> It's exciting to me 00:14:27.23\00:14:30.93 because you know anything about this topic. I haven't given it a lot of thought to be honest 00:14:30.93\00:14:33.44 because it's so horrific. You know, how do you bear that kind of reality with you can't 00:14:33.44\00:14:39.34 do anything about it. on a daily basis. And yet I've kind of been 00:14:39.34\00:14:45.05 just past thinking about this interview ashamed of myself. Well, this is happening in 00:14:45.05\00:14:50.69 America. It's happening all over the world and every single one of us should be investing in 00:14:50.69\00:14:56.49 helping preventing, you know, in some way and I feel like you guys have really given at least 00:14:56.49\00:15:02.33 me an opportunity to feel like now I can do something about this. I can commit to a girl 00:15:02.33\00:15:07.50 or a monthly donation or something that I feel like. I'm not just, you know, 00:15:07.50\00:15:13.01 turning a blind eye and pretending it's not there or ucas. It's emotional. And yet 00:15:13.01\00:15:17.85 what good does that do anybody right? So it's I know what can I do? And yeah, I just want to 00:15:17.85\00:15:22.55 thank you guys for giving us all opportunity. >> And you mention 00:15:22.55\00:15:28.72 America and we do have a small project here you. Yeah, yeah. And I you know, really, I think 00:15:28.72\00:15:34.93 one of the dynamics that this project has brought out this in South Chicago is usually a 00:15:34.93\00:15:41.24 father, this in jail and a mother prostitution. And so that's the kind of dynamic 00:15:41.24\00:15:45.51 where kids are just totally neglected. And another relative may step in but not 00:15:45.51\00:15:49.51 have the resources to be able to help. It's very expensive here in America. It's cost a 00:15:49.51\00:15:54.05 lot more. You know, there's probably helping one child hears. You can help 10 in 00:15:54.05\00:15:59.49 another country. But nevertheless, we need to do both. both end. It's not 00:15:59.49\00:16:02.32 either or right. And we want to help these kids. But I think one 00:16:02.32\00:16:07.86 statistic that's really important for us to be aware of is that within 24 to 48 hours of 00:16:07.86\00:16:13.10 a child running away, they've been approached by a trafficker. But most of trafficking in the 00:16:13.10\00:16:18.77 United States happens on the Internet there's websites. People go to and these girls are 00:16:18.77\00:16:25.55 underage and police are all the time trying to go under cover and break up these trafficking 00:16:25.55\00:16:29.98 rings. But there's a lot more resources probably going in to stop it here in the U.S.. But 00:16:29.98\00:16:36.32 real dilemma is that the U.S. is largely funding trafficking globally, right? We are the 00:16:36.32\00:16:41.50 yeah. We're going to customer. Yeah. We're putting the money 00:16:41.50\00:16:46.87 into it. >> Dash is heartbreaking. So that means we have 16 projects. If you have 00:16:46.87\00:16:49.34 South Chicago, that would be 6. That's what I think we I haven't seen it OK? So then I 00:16:49.34\00:16:55.91 didn't make it well. I don't know. Maybe I missed it. South Chicago, are you trying to do 00:16:55.91\00:17:02.65 a safe house to try what was that? We were working at a local church this in South 00:17:02.65\00:17:06.65 Chicago and that church is very much in touch with government 00:17:06.65\00:17:11.46 individuals and want actually they've had a goal to provide free evidence, education for 00:17:11.46\00:17:16.23 children in South Chicago, which I think that Chicago is it 16,000 years that the number 00:17:16.23\00:17:22.84 that we've heard them, 16,000 girls a year that go missing in 00:17:22.84\00:17:26.61 Chicago. >> And the teen 1000 thousands go missing a year. And that's, you know, in Chicago. 00:17:26.61\00:17:31.05 But South Chicago is kind of the hot bed of that. And so that's one city. Yeah. And so we have 00:17:31.05\00:17:37.39 a very small project. Like I said, we're sponsoring for children, but we're paying for 00:17:37.39\00:17:43.09 their school tuition. And you know what? Tuition costs in the U.S. for private education 00:17:43.09\00:17:46.96 expense. So that's an expensive project. But of course, we can 00:17:46.96\00:17:49.80 add more children to that project as well. But it's a partnership with a local church. 00:17:49.80\00:17:54.97 >> Where to live them. So if you're of providing education for these 4, yeah, they try 00:17:54.97\00:17:59.74 they're trying to support with a relative that may not be able that can provide a safe 00:17:59.74\00:18:03.45 place but may not be able to provide what the child fully 00:18:03.45\00:18:07.02 needs. >> Got it. So it's kind of resource supplement another. It's OK, yes, the grandparent 00:18:07.02\00:18:11.45 or something like that to the >> Let's talk about South America often we talk about 00:18:11.45\00:18:15.16 any projects South America. >> Jason is Jason Chase. This one down. So this is Colombia. 00:18:15.16\00:18:21.53 >> Yes, so we don't have any projects in South America right now. friend of ours 00:18:21.53\00:18:26.23 approached us and said, hey, I know you guys are trying to expand. I the guy for you to 00:18:26.23\00:18:33.44 work with and South America. This is a very mission minded businessman down and Colombia. 00:18:33.44\00:18:41.32 And he had a passion for reaching out to a local indigenous community in the 00:18:41.32\00:18:44.32 jungle. And there's very little to no government involvement 00:18:44.32\00:18:51.73 because these are indigenous people out in the jungle. And so what he was sharing with us is 00:18:51.73\00:18:56.93 that about 90% of the girls from this community grow up to become prostitutes? Now, I was kind 00:18:56.93\00:19:02.64 of give this caviar. We don't believe there's such a thing as a child prostitute. If a 00:19:02.64\00:19:07.98 child is under 18, right involved some type of sexual activity that's for for money. 00:19:07.98\00:19:12.05 They're a victim of human trafficking. It's rent. And so these girls, they've already 00:19:12.05\00:19:18.42 rescue 3. They're 13, 14, 15 years old. I think 2 of them already have kids at this age. 00:19:18.42\00:19:25.59 There's a huge number still out there to be rescued. And so we were approached and 00:19:25.59\00:19:30.60 said, hey, we like to start this jungle rescue project, essentially where we can go 00:19:30.60\00:19:35.10 and rent a safe house. Where we can put by workers, social workers that can go out in the 00:19:35.10\00:19:42.14 community and find these girls. Right now we're being abused by 00:19:42.14\00:19:45.45 family members or other people in the tribe. Bring them to the safe house and then they're 00:19:45.45\00:19:50.65 going to transport them. It's like 4 hours by plane or boat is the only way to get out of this 00:19:50.65\00:19:54.56 area to this has been a scam pus where there's us school. They have different vocational 00:19:54.56\00:20:00.00 trainings. They have bakeries restaurants. So they're going to learn all kinds of trades. 00:20:00.00\00:20:05.37 They're going to be able to have an education and then the dream then is to build a dorm 00:20:05.37\00:20:10.11 on campus where we can house up to 50 of these girls. So right now they can take about 00:20:10.11\00:20:14.28 10 to 12 with their current facilities and then we need to build another dorm summer. 00:20:14.28\00:20:18.21 What we've done in Riverside, where can have 50 and then kind of stage 3, our ultimate 00:20:18.21\00:20:22.22 dream would be to build our own community center in that community where we could house 00:20:22.22\00:20:27.69 by workers and social workers and counselors and they can be working to kind of stop the 00:20:27.69\00:20:32.53 problem at its core by working in the community. So this team has done a tremendous job of 00:20:32.53\00:20:36.80 building more with the local tribal leaders and the community 00:20:36.80\00:20:41.17 there where they said, hey, we are totally open to coming to help us with this issue. We want 00:20:41.17\00:20:46.84 you to be And so that's what we're doing. And that will be our big focus on July 30 this 00:20:46.84\00:20:53.18 year, the World Day against human trafficking. And so we're going to be doing a big 00:20:53.18\00:20:55.48 campaign about the project. I'm going to be going down in April with Jasper to do a film 00:20:55.48\00:20:59.32 on. And so I can't wait to see it myself. But they've identified the safe house and 00:20:59.32\00:21:03.73 we're going to take possession of that. And just a couple weeks and then the rescues 00:21:03.73\00:21:08.13 will start after that. So we're really excited to see how got continues to develop 00:21:08.13\00:21:11.37 that program in South America. >> You all are visionary. That's just incredible. You 00:21:11.37\00:21:17.31 know, to think all we can do this and now into the side of safe house and now we're going 00:21:17.31\00:21:20.71 move transport them here where they could have education and learn these trades praise the 00:21:20.71\00:21:25.78 Lord for God connecting you with the people in order to make that happen. Do you ever 00:21:25.78\00:21:29.65 have people who come out? I'm thinking of the girls, maybe they come to a safe house and 00:21:29.65\00:21:34.32 then the relative for the person who's trafficking them tries to like pull them back 00:21:34.32\00:21:38.49 in. I mean, do you ever have situations like that with the 00:21:38.49\00:21:44.97 any of these? >> I what I what I am aware of is that parents are in with in tears thinking that 00:21:44.97\00:21:51.24 that their kids, if there's a parent involved, that they have a chance to do something else 00:21:51.24\00:21:53.81 because as Jason was they may not be able to feed all the kids that they've had. And so 00:21:53.81\00:22:00.12 to know that one child is in a safe place, that they're going to be taken care of as a big 00:22:00.12\00:22:05.42 relief. And I'm one of the parents said that our kids are children used only worry about 00:22:05.42\00:22:09.16 food and survival. Now they can chase their And so it's very welcome by them. Of 00:22:09.16\00:22:16.60 course, if there's some real direct trafficking involved, there are dangers involved 00:22:16.60\00:22:20.04 with that. But at this point, I think pretty much we feel like God protected us from 00:22:20.04\00:22:25.41 those kind situations to this point. We do have security that hired at projects. And so 00:22:25.41\00:22:32.55 we don't want to take those risks. You know, you are act. >> Yeah, we've been interested 00:22:32.55\00:22:35.48 with these kids. And so our teams have done a fantastic job of working on the ground 00:22:35.48\00:22:39.22 to protect them. You yeah, there's fences and security in security Tower. One of our 00:22:39.22\00:22:44.89 locations. Yeah. >> Sure. There's another question here. 00:22:44.89\00:22:50.93 How do you introduce chases to these kids that go through trafficking? They have a hard 00:22:50.93\00:22:53.60 time understanding a person that will love them with a godly 00:22:53.60\00:23:01.98 love. >> The visual that came to my mind Jerry from FAU coast there in Tanzania. And we were 00:23:01.98\00:23:07.28 recording a video and he says I'm we want them to know that we that we love them because 00:23:07.28\00:23:12.29 we really do. And the tears just started flowing. And you see that kind of heart of this 00:23:12.29\00:23:19.83 man who as a missionary that loves God with his whole heart. And I was able to 9 00:23:19.83\00:23:27.14 individuals while we were there, including a security guard you 00:23:27.14\00:23:32.41 know, was just introduced Jesus. But they saw a picture of Jesus through the people that are 00:23:32.41\00:23:36.54 there providing them with a safe place. And so I was able to see that first hand. I think, 00:23:36.54\00:23:42.72 you said, that this is something you've observed in terms of the. 00:23:42.72\00:23:47.32 Kind of the evangelism side of people finding Jesus. >> Yeah, 00:23:47.32\00:23:52.59 it's it's super interesting. We would go on these mission when I was there out into the Bush to 00:23:52.59\00:23:56.83 like off of Riverside Farm property, basically into the middle of nowhere and we would 00:23:56.83\00:24:01.87 always show this movie. About the life of Jesus. I couldn't tell you what the name of the 00:24:01.87\00:24:08.31 movie is probably made back in like 50's or 60's or something. It was a black and white. No. So 00:24:08.31\00:24:15.45 coldly leading to the head teller. Haha. >> anyways, so 00:24:15.45\00:24:20.59 they would do a really good job translating the language of whatever local child we were at 00:24:20.59\00:24:25.39 over the dialogue of the movie. And so the people would always be like, well, like it would 00:24:25.39\00:24:31.57 probably be the first time like many of them have maybe seen a movie like actually in 00:24:31.57\00:24:34.27 their language or anything like that because the other 6.70, different tribes in 00:24:34.27\00:24:39.74 Zambia. So it's like really crazy, like find a movie in their specific legal issue. 00:24:39.74\00:24:42.11 Now. They they would be so amazed at that. And then you would get to the part where 00:24:42.11\00:24:48.12 Jesus is like multiplying the fish and the water. And a lot of these people have been 00:24:48.12\00:24:52.69 fishing villages on lakes and that's their reality. Like they go out fishing every day 00:24:52.69\00:24:57.46 and they see that Mayor call on the TV screen and that just was like, well, that that 00:24:57.46\00:25:00.83 could be real that actually his home to them in a different way 00:25:00.83\00:25:05.13 that probably hits home to me. So. >> Oh, my God can do that. Yeah. I would think also 00:25:05.13\00:25:13.74 >> that how God has revealed himself in his word as deliberate or is the great 00:25:13.74\00:25:19.58 emancipator. He's the one who set the captives free and he describes himself like that. 00:25:19.58\00:25:25.19 Again and again and again. He's the one that set the relates 00:25:25.19\00:25:29.66 free, the 10 Commandments. The first you know him when you think about the first 00:25:29.66\00:25:33.73 commandment people often don't realize that it entails got identified who he is and that he 00:25:33.73\00:25:40.94 is the one who took them out of the land of Egypt and out of the house of bondage and for them to 00:25:40.94\00:25:44.87 identify that is God. I would think that it would be a struggle because I think we 00:25:44.87\00:25:50.61 struggle with it. How can God let this this kind of stuff happened on this earth? And I 00:25:50.61\00:25:54.85 you hear those kind of questions a lot when you see so much horrible things taking 00:25:54.85\00:25:59.65 place, you know, God must be in so much pain on a daily basis. Really. But I think 00:25:59.65\00:26:04.43 it's important that they realized no, this God, there was a time when God wanted to 00:26:04.43\00:26:09.16 be like the civil ruler over people. And when he was there was no slavery. Trust me. 00:26:09.16\00:26:13.20 There was no But we said. >> We want Cesar to be our king and 00:26:13.20\00:26:20.08 was their child trafficking under the Roman rule? Absolutely right. So we chose world the 00:26:20.08\00:26:25.71 government, basically this world's been could you know? So now we have this demonic. Yeah, 00:26:25.71\00:26:30.49 Satan is in control of so much. And so that's why these things are happening. But again, I 00:26:30.49\00:26:34.79 guess the contrast, if they could see, Gee says is the one who now he's the reason why 00:26:34.79\00:26:39.49 you're here. He's the liberate or he's the one that set you free. I love what you said. 00:26:39.49\00:26:41.86 Doctor Tom, about the example because I mean, you can you can teach. Okay. This is what 00:26:41.86\00:26:46.63 the Bible says. that's exciting. But >> when you see it live 00:26:46.63\00:26:49.57 doubt, thank you. So their when you see see that with either the people who are working or, you 00:26:49.57\00:26:55.91 know, the staff member there at the safe house or whatever. That's incredible. When you 00:26:55.91\00:27:00.62 see Jesus in flat, yes, you know, living through someone that is pliable. Yeah. Before 00:27:00.62\00:27:06.15 we go to another project, just will mention this here. Thank you, crew for giving us this 00:27:06.15\00:27:11.26 number. I few are watching this program right now. I know we've given contact for child 00:27:11.26\00:27:16.10 impact. I'm human trafficking, sex trafficking, like all these 00:28:45.55\00:28:50.93 different, horrible things that are happening in this world. I'm 00:28:50.93\00:28:56.13 paying the their projects people, all the different leaders guide them. As they try 00:28:56.13\00:29:00.87 to figure out the best way Please be with our team as we continue to navigate some of 00:29:00.87\00:29:08.94 these And I just pay fee anyone who is out there right now who is watching this that might be 00:29:08.94\00:29:13.38 experiencing this themselves, >> Help to know that you're there for them, that there is 00:29:13.38\00:29:20.22 hope and help out there for them when they need it. >> he's given 00:29:20.22\00:29:24.76 the courage to find that help and be able to seek it out of the situation. Sometimes it can 00:29:24.76\00:29:32.37 take courage to even meet the first step out of that sum. >> Yeah, thank you for 00:29:32.37\00:29:38.27 everything that you do for All the blessings. You continue to 00:29:38.27\00:29:42.64 give us. >> You pretty man. >> Let's talk a little more about is in June 30 or July 00:29:42.64\00:29:48.58 3rd, July 30 July 30. And so we already have one ready for January February 00:30:34.60\00:30:40.17 March. They're already We have a link that you just click on and get those videos and we 00:30:40.17\00:30:44.84 really make it a very appropriate for a church service 00:30:44.84\00:30:47.88 because the video simply ends by saying bring hope to a child and it gives gives organizations 00:30:47.88\00:30:53.01 name. So we're not making big appeals for finances or anything like this. So it's really 00:30:53.01\00:30:59.72 raising awareness and giving people exposure individual's exposure to some of the the 00:30:59.72\00:31:04.63 needs present the world. We live in. But especially July 30, we have a video that we focused 00:31:04.63\00:31:10.87 on human trafficking and a Sabbath this year is on July. 29, this previous year was 00:31:10.87\00:31:18.51 July 30. So that was quite a nice time to launch this initiative. But we raise a lot 00:31:18.51\00:31:24.88 of We have a magazine that we produce that specifically. We'll highlight all the top of 00:31:24.88\00:31:30.09 all of the projects were involved in and we will provide that for churches to 00:31:30.09\00:31:34.46 hand out along with the special video. And we just think its time part is the 7th 00:31:34.46\00:31:39.93 Day Adventist Church that we give attention to this topic. We're certainly leading the 00:31:39.93\00:31:44.83 way. And, you know, we have we can put our project so on, you know, one sheet back in front 00:31:44.83\00:31:49.74 and there needs to be much more that's done. This is not enough. This is a drop in the 00:31:49.74\00:31:54.31 bucket. And we want to do more. And so we need help to do And there's 2 ways to do 00:31:54.31\00:32:01.58 that. One is to support operation child Rescue financially. We would love to 00:32:01.58\00:32:04.25 have donors that say, hey, every month I want to get to that project. I would like to 00:32:04.25\00:32:08.02 provide some kind an amount every year that you can count on that you can make sure you 00:32:08.02\00:32:13.50 do these projects. But I always tell people another way to help us through influence. 00:32:13.50\00:32:18.83 And if your local church member and you have the influence that 00:32:18.83\00:32:22.97 you can get a 5 minute video showing every month that your church or the you can get this 00:32:22.97\00:32:27.08 July 30 video shown and then hand magazines out. There are people that will hear about it. 00:32:27.08\00:32:31.25 That will say I do have the resources to help open a new project or to help support on an 00:32:31.25\00:32:37.62 ongoing basis. So we would love to hear from individuals in terms of being able to share 00:32:37.62\00:32:41.59 those videos. >> How do they contact? You have to say, hey, 00:32:41.59\00:32:44.66 you know, I'm in my local church and I want to share the video warm, get the magazine's. How do 00:32:44.66\00:32:48.90 they? >> Yes, so they can just contact our office color 00:32:48.90\00:32:51.53 office or send an email and just say we'd like to receive the videos to share a local 00:32:51.53\00:32:54.77 church and we will nurture that friendship and relationship with 00:32:54.77\00:32:59.34 an individual call them an ambassador for child impact and we will be in regular 00:32:59.34\00:33:04.55 contact. Let those individuals know when the next video comes out and make sure they have 00:33:04.55\00:33:07.78 those resources that they want to share. >> men I know people 00:33:07.78\00:33:11.59 are listening on the radio as well. So let's actually give that. So if someone is not 00:33:11.59\00:33:14.42 watching, they can, they can hear that it was help at child 00:33:14.42\00:33:22.33 impact Dot org. >> Help at child impact Dot org or that phone number, if you could switch that 00:33:22.33\00:33:25.43 again. It's 4 to 3, 9, 1, 0, 0, 6, 6, 7. That's 4, 2, 3, 9, 1, 00:33:25.43\00:33:38.28 0, 0, 6, 6, 7, >> And Tom, that's a great way for people to be involved in churches. But 00:33:38.28\00:33:42.42 what's another in a ship you've been working on with maybe some doctor's offices, clinics, 00:33:42.42\00:33:47.36 people with business. Sure. You know, you know, again, the sun point of view. We cut a piloted 00:33:47.36\00:33:53.16 in our local community. The same board member that went over to visit the project was to 00:33:53.16\00:33:55.73 adopt. These kids said, look, we have a dental office. We can put magazines out in our 00:33:55.73\00:34:01.07 office and they were all gone. I mean, that people took them just due to come into the 00:34:01.07\00:34:05.27 office. There. And they said you what? We had some in Spanish so 00:34:05.27\00:34:08.18 that those ones when as well and so they get a supply. We do 5 magazines year. They're 00:34:08.18\00:34:13.78 beautifully done. The individual that does that's our videographer. And he's been 00:34:13.78\00:34:19.55 featured National by National Geographic. So the the photos are spectacular. But the stories 00:34:19.55\00:34:22.82 are where the power's out. And if we can get those into the hands of individuals, people 00:34:22.82\00:34:27.46 feel compelled that they want to be a part of this. And so that's a big way to help as well. I'm 00:34:27.46\00:34:33.67 with I'm just using influence. I think I want to Joe, we're hoping because when we take on 00:34:33.67\00:34:42.61 14, 15 projects, it's not just these are projects for 2023. Those same 14 projects are 00:34:42.61\00:34:50.45 projects for 2020 for 2025. We keep going, right? You're what do we do? We can't leave these 00:34:50.45\00:34:55.82 kids hanging. We can't leave them without a path to a bright future. And so we would 00:34:55.82\00:35:00.16 love it if there were some large donors that would say, hey, we would like put this 00:35:00.16\00:35:04.60 much in every year that you can count on. So, you know, these projects are covered 00:35:04.60\00:35:10.07 because really with sponsorship every month, the sponsors Sens 00:35:10.07\00:35:12.84 resources with a person child rescue is different. Yeah, it's whatever's raised is what we 00:35:12.84\00:35:17.18 can do. And so if we knew that we had a certain amount of resources that we could count 00:35:17.18\00:35:20.72 on every year, it gives us confidence to go out and start new projects because we don't 00:35:20.72\00:35:25.02 know if we can until the funds come in. So that would be a tremendous blessing to us. If 00:35:25.02\00:35:29.92 a few people step forward that way. >> Yeah, you know, I ice. 00:35:29.92\00:35:34.20 I'm sure I'm like everyone else. We think all if I'd lived during the Civil War era prior 00:35:34.20\00:35:38.83 to civil war. And I live in the North, I'd be Harriet Tubman. It 00:35:38.83\00:35:45.97 involved in the, you know, underground railroad. And I wouldn't be just, you know, 00:35:45.97\00:35:50.28 calmly, you note or if I when Wilbur will for for us, I would refuse to drink sugar because, 00:35:50.28\00:35:56.69 you know, I'm saying we think that this would be our action because we're looking we're 00:35:56.69\00:36:02.16 looking back. But what are we doing now? I just feel like. I'm just convicted that probably 00:36:02.16\00:36:07.83 for too long. I've and again, I see myself. I'm on the Good Samaritan on the victim. Know 00:36:07.83\00:36:13.64 you're so busy. You're too busy to take care of and and how can we not do something 00:36:13.64\00:36:19.87 right? How can we not do something? Whether it's donating whatever it is. You 00:36:19.87\00:36:23.81 know, that monthly sum the hotline number that you gave to. I think that's important 00:36:23.81\00:36:29.55 for everyone to have in their phone because this stuff is happening underneath our noses 00:36:29.55\00:36:36.76 and we don't know it yet. But if we're intentional him praying 00:36:36.76\00:36:41.50 like Holy Spirit, please impress me if there's something that I feel uncomfortable around. 00:36:41.50\00:36:44.83 noticed something I can call that want and say, hey, I've noticed at this address, I don't 00:36:44.83\00:36:49.57 feel comfortable with it. And you you have someone to tell, right? We can be eyes and ears 00:36:49.57\00:36:54.94 that. >> And when you're involved in this, you start to 00:36:54.94\00:36:56.95 see things differently. I mean, I was driving along in my car. My son saw this. This young man 00:36:56.95\00:37:02.38 pulling a suitcase with clothes hanging out of it and you know, 00:37:02.38\00:37:06.65 so we need to see what's going on with this young And I went in and started talking with him. We 00:37:06.65\00:37:10.13 ask if you could use my phone and he was in tears, just weeping and just Just a 00:37:10.13\00:37:15.90 terrible situation who was in and you want to be able to get help for someone like But I 00:37:15.90\00:37:22.90 want to say, and my skin is in the game. You know, our family has a home business that we're 00:37:22.90\00:37:28.48 involved in and we donate to Operation Child Rescue as much. You know, as we possibly 00:37:28.48\00:37:33.62 can. And we also sponsor children. And so I'm a part of this organization. But I but 00:37:33.62\00:37:40.16 you know, as part of it, I've seen it firsthand. And I believe in myself and I want 00:37:40.16\00:37:42.96 to be involved myself and, you know, Moyes challenges are more that we can do. Is there 00:37:42.96\00:37:49.20 is there something else? Do we really need to do this to our house right now? Or can we 00:37:49.20\00:37:53.20 help more kids? Absolute, right. And those are the kind of decisions we all make. And 00:37:53.20\00:37:56.87 do we really need to have that nice of a house or do we really need to, you know this 00:37:56.87\00:38:00.98 or that? And and so we're making those decisions all the time. And we want to have 00:38:00.98\00:38:05.65 enjoyable things in this in this life. But there's children that 00:38:05.65\00:38:09.52 don't have anything enjoyable about their life, their life's a dead end and they're trapped and 00:38:09.52\00:38:13.59 we haven't opted to bring them hope. And I think all of us are 00:38:13.59\00:38:16.93 responsible to do something about that. First with child impact or someone else. it is 00:38:16.93\00:38:21.63 some other organization that needs to happen. We need to be involved. and I was just 00:38:21.63\00:38:25.23 thinking of the girl and has an MBA to sit. >> That they would 00:38:25.23\00:38:29.50 sacrifice themselves for siblings, but we can sacrifice creature comforts going out to 00:38:29.50\00:38:34.08 eat or we back or find something financially, you know, in order to reach out and help 00:38:34.08\00:38:39.95 some 3ABN is going to step forward and we would give funds to Zambia project. that 00:38:39.95\00:38:45.19 will be having a child impact next week. So we believe and what's happening. Thank you so 00:38:45.19\00:38:50.26 much up for, but we appeal to you as step forward. See what God is asking you to do. This 00:38:50.26\00:38:57.70 is not a big us on. This is not foreseen you anything. You just go to the Lawrence a God. 00:38:57.70\00:39:02.84 What would you have me do you want me to help you rescue and reach these girls and boys 00:39:02.84\00:39:12.18 around the world through child impact. And if so, what does that look like? And how much 00:39:12.18\00:39:15.48 should I give in? How should I become involved? You know, so we just encourage that you do 00:39:15.48\00:39:19.82 is just between you and got you do it between you and God, whatever the holy Spirit 00:39:19.82\00:39:24.73 impresses, you. >> Commissioner most recent Rex rest, it's a 00:39:24.73\00:39:30.90 boy. We have a photo. This was as of today, I think really go the extra today. We've got the 00:39:30.90\00:39:35.00 picture today. This just happened. This is a 2 month-old baby that weighs 5 pounds and 00:39:35.00\00:39:41.81 the couple sitting there, our partners at the Falcons, children home in Tanzania, 3 00:39:41.81\00:39:46.82 big and literally the day before they head for 4 other children that they that they 00:39:46.82\00:39:51.22 receive. So we are the major support for this particular project in Cannes in Tanzania. 00:39:51.22\00:39:58.43 And, you know, we can talk about needs, but I want to praise the Lord for provision. 00:39:58.43\00:40:02.70 Yeah, because they have needed to expand their They were challenged by some government 00:40:02.70\00:40:07.44 regulations with having too many kids in the tight space with food and also the have 00:40:07.44\00:40:13.11 need for a multipurpose building where they can worship. They 00:40:13.11\00:40:16.28 have actually prostitutes that come to church on set, but they picked them up in town. So 00:40:16.28\00:40:20.55 they're trying to resolve this issue, right? And so they need a multipurpose building with 00:40:20.55\00:40:24.69 some training rooms and a donor stepped forward and funded the 00:40:24.69\00:40:30.79 whole thing. We call during valor. They could not believe that our our office was just 00:40:30.79\00:40:35.10 celebrating this like God provided everything. And so this is a donor who had already given 00:40:35.10\00:40:40.57 a amount they saw we have a Friday field report with e-mail that we send out every 00:40:40.57\00:40:44.21 Friday with the stories and she received that. And I was actually in end, though, this 00:40:44.21\00:40:48.91 eastern European country, almost where it was adopting my son and 00:40:48.91\00:40:54.22 we're back and forth a back and forth and he misses. I want to help with this project to what 00:40:54.22\00:40:57.19 you have in mind basically to do the whole thing. So got Tester heart. So, you know, we're 00:40:57.19\00:41:03.69 talking about needs, but I believe God provides a the resources to meet those 00:41:03.69\00:41:08.20 >> We always say here at reviewed the blessing is on the go. Mister Danny Shelton 00:41:08.20\00:41:12.40 always says of the blessing is on the go. And when you step forward by Faith, God provides 00:41:12.40\00:41:17.31 incredible thing. talk to us about Egypt and just look at all these incredible projects. 00:41:17.31\00:41:20.64 What's happening age? >> Sure. So we reached out I think both of us have a mutual 00:41:20.64\00:41:26.68 friend there and he's the president of the Middle East, North Africa Union and I think 00:41:26.68\00:41:31.65 you asked him of all the projects you have in your area of the world. If you had one 00:41:31.65\00:41:36.93 project that we can support you at, what would it be? And he said this school in Cairo, 00:41:36.93\00:41:42.86 Egypt. It is specifically set up to help Sudanese refugees who are displaced because of 00:41:42.86\00:41:50.17 the civil war. They have come to Cairo as refugees and they have 00:41:50.17\00:41:56.41 A lot of them. The fathers, the husbands have died in the civil war. And so a lot of times it's 00:41:56.41\00:42:00.42 just the mom with their children. And you can imagine playing with what you have in 00:42:00.42\00:42:06.25 your back being displaced and a new city. And so this school is set up specifically to help 00:42:06.25\00:42:10.69 them. And so we gave them operation rescue funds last year. And then we said, hey, 00:42:10.69\00:42:17.50 let's try to move a lot of your students on our sponsorship 00:42:17.50\00:42:22.20 model. And so we took 60 kids on this year and we've got a lot of them sponsored already. There's 00:42:22.20\00:42:26.21 a few more still some of the websites our website right now that can be sponsor me. See 00:42:26.21\00:42:30.41 how and so that's our project there and care. Egypt working very closely with the church 00:42:30.41\00:42:35.28 there to help this displaced population of Sudanese refugees in Egypt. And I want 00:42:35.28\00:42:40.46 to say thank thank you to 3 being on this one because we had 00:42:40.46\00:42:45.86 recorded a video. >> That shows on where a video showing Friday on Fridays. And we've recorded 00:42:45.86\00:42:49.93 one of this project they show on Friday on 3ABN. Yeah. And 3 night they show on And so we had 00:42:49.93\00:42:54.97 this program have been shown and we did not have enough children on the on the Web site that we 00:42:54.97\00:43:00.38 processed yet there on the site. And so they they all got sponsor. We had somebody 00:43:00.38\00:43:06.51 calling on Monday saying do still have any children from Egypt. We did. But they were 00:43:06.51\00:43:09.82 on the website. So anyway, that was. >> So that's so cool. I 00:43:09.82\00:43:13.76 just want to clarify. So if someone wants to sponsor a child, they can just go on your 00:43:13.76\00:43:16.96 website and maybe choose one yet. >> And we want to set actually set a record this 00:43:16.96\00:43:21.73 month. I don't We need to go and verify, but we think as of Monday, 104 children have been 00:43:21.73\00:43:26.20 sponsored this month if there's good number of spots and you 00:43:26.20\00:43:32.61 know, some people sponsor, we have our largest sponsor has 30 children. But we have some with 00:43:32.61\00:43:36.71 20 children are 10 or 5. I met a dentist at a a S I that have been sponsoring 3 children and 00:43:36.71\00:43:45.75 he we visited breakfast and who came to come by the booth says time to do more. Many spots 00:43:45.75\00:43:49.89 are 17 more children. So now they have 20 so yeah, we have plenty of children. I think 00:43:49.89\00:43:57.20 maybe the all begun after tonight's program. But we have more to put up still. Yeah. 00:43:57.20\00:44:01.40 >> This just came in. This is Lee from Mississippi says there's a couple questions. 00:44:01.40\00:44:05.37 Here is the greatest need now and Zambia. That's the first 00:44:05.37\00:44:11.78 question. >> There needs all over the Each one is unique and I think God puts different burns 00:44:11.78\00:44:16.79 on different people's hearts. And, you know, this is kind of the biggest operation child 00:44:16.79\00:44:21.62 rescue need at this point because we've built a dorm. It's under construction right 00:44:21.62\00:44:23.73 now. And we have a mission trip going there this summer with very limited Someone's 00:44:23.73\00:44:29.86 hearing this. And they're just like I've got to see it out to us. We've got a few spaces 00:44:29.86\00:44:35.10 available. We're going to try to paint this dorm kind of finish it up. But get to meet 00:44:35.10\00:44:39.01 the kids and go on a mission trip with child impact. We've got to fill that dorm up with 00:44:39.01\00:44:45.28 these girls and it's a large expense because they're coming from nothing. And, you know, 00:44:45.28\00:44:48.88 it's actually shared from the community there. Another person I think you took your 00:44:48.88\00:44:55.29 spot was just in our office and she's working as a student missionary. She said these 00:44:55.29\00:44:59.76 kids are starving in the local community. And I said, what do you mean starting like if I 00:44:59.76\00:45:03.93 wait to 1 o'clock to launch, you know, I'm starving. He said, I mean, they're eating 00:45:03.93\00:45:09.64 one meal every other every other And she said that's what I mean by starving. And so 00:45:09.64\00:45:15.71 when these kids go to Riverside, it's like they've won the lottery really because 00:45:15.71\00:45:18.78 of the program that they got, as you know, put together with the leadership and place 00:45:18.78\00:45:25.92 there. So we really have a burden to fill this dormant with these girls. And that is 00:45:25.92\00:45:30.19 a huge pressing need for us at this time to make sure that when school starts, we can 00:45:30.19\00:45:34.10 feel that with more rescue girls. >> This one has to do 00:45:34.10\00:45:38.53 with Ethiopia Fire to sponsor child and Ethiopia with the child be one of the 600 in the 00:45:38.53\00:45:44.61 orphanage who for. He has taken in more than he can handle. 00:45:44.61\00:45:48.41 >> Yes, all that. That's our only project. And the opiate is the 2 his 2 locations and 00:45:48.41\00:45:53.31 600 children. We want to we have a plan already to sponsor over 100 of them. But even 00:45:53.31\00:45:59.32 Jason, they were talking and saying there because he has no resources and no support of 00:45:59.32\00:46:03.83 virtually we'd love to get as many of those kids and that school-sponsored as possible. 00:46:03.83\00:46:08.10 So it's a matter of processing the applications in the photos and we have quite a high touch 00:46:08.10\00:46:15.14 interaction with the with them in the child is possible. And so there's involvement of our 00:46:15.14\00:46:19.04 team to do that. But we do want to do more feel PIA, to help 00:46:19.04\00:46:23.14 help him with that project for sure. I think when it comes back here, you know, that will be 00:46:23.14\00:46:28.48 October. Yeah, that will be an amazing opportunity. >> Last 00:46:28.48\00:46:30.92 question, are the schools boarding schools? And if so, which ones are boarding schools? 00:46:30.92\00:46:35.69 I know we talked about Riverside trying to make that dormitory, but any other projects like 00:46:35.69\00:46:40.23 that? Yes, we have both kinds of schools and our sponsorship program. A day student. You can 00:46:40.23\00:46:44.60 sponsor for $32 a month. A boarding student is $45 a month. And so we have both and it just 00:46:44.60\00:46:48.87 varies by location. makes perfect sense. Yes, I will say we don't have any kids from 00:46:48.87\00:46:56.01 Ethiopia right now. They've all been sponsored on the website. I 00:46:56.01\00:47:01.52 just got more profiles and yesterday and will be putting those up on the Web site this 00:47:01.52\00:47:04.72 next coming week, OK? So we can make a waiting list to call back if somebody really wants 00:47:04.72\00:47:10.69 >> How biggest child impact like how many employees are there? 00:47:10.69\00:47:14.83 >> So there's been 8 in the office and we have a couple that are overseas. So yeah, we 00:47:14.83\00:47:21.10 do through partnership, sponsorship is very intensive in terms of the work that's 00:47:21.10\00:47:27.04 involved. And so that's if we were doing sponsorship, we could do with a lot But it's 00:47:27.04\00:47:32.75 it's a meaningful process that really makes all the difference 00:47:32.75\00:47:37.25 for these kids to be able to be in the sponsorship program. So it's important to run that and 00:47:37.25\00:47:41.19 it takes quite few people to make that happen. >> Yeah, 00:47:41.19\00:47:45.33 absolutely. Who sending you these names then like on location who sent Here's more 00:47:45.33\00:47:49.20 kids. So we are partners in the country >> so we different organizations that we work 00:47:49.20\00:47:56.24 with the NGO that we've set up in the country. It can be a church office and Bangladesh. 00:47:56.24\00:48:02.24 There's actually under the union. There's a sponsorship kind of department like 00:48:02.24\00:48:06.28 Women's Ministries Men's Ministries. There's a sponsorship department. So we 00:48:06.28\00:48:08.82 work through them in Bangladesh and then in the African 00:48:08.82\00:48:13.12 countries, we work directly with the school. And so I say, hey, we'll take 100 kids from you. 00:48:13.12\00:48:19.19 And so then they'll send me all the profiles and we'll get them uploaded on the website. 00:48:19.19\00:48:23.03 >> As an example, the difference it makes is one of our schools 00:48:23.03\00:48:25.67 and and Tanzania called tween. >> And they had almost shut down. I'm just because they 00:48:25.67\00:48:32.44 didn't have resources have been going for a couple decades we came in and said we 00:48:32.44\00:48:37.41 can sponsor some of these kids and I have kind of a family history with the missionary 00:48:37.41\00:48:42.98 from that particular locations to come to my home. And my dad would make donations to their 00:48:42.98\00:48:49.89 projects. There and then he'd go around to help her find in the area while over grew up. 00:48:49.89\00:48:57.77 But we came in and began sponsoring a kids and we will be traveling there to help 00:48:57.77\00:49:01.14 them. They have some needs with infrastructure and so on as well. So we want to assess 00:49:01.14\00:49:05.64 what what best we can do to support them. But it brings stability to the schools into 00:49:05.64\00:49:12.71 these projects because they know every month the sponsors giving a donation and that 00:49:12.71\00:49:15.45 enables these kids to go to school if consistent funding. >> Yes. Back to you. Talk 00:49:15.45\00:49:19.75 about it. Being a high touch program as far as the sponsorship. So say sponsor, 00:49:19.75\00:49:23.96 someone what did. But and when you sponsor, you can communicate 00:49:23.96\00:49:30.70 with the child you can. How does that work out of the letters go back and forth are the gifts. 00:49:30.70\00:49:34.47 How does that work? >> We both matter child so it can really be 00:49:34.47\00:49:38.67 high to to their high fives and all that fun stuff. But overseas so maybe want to share. So when 00:49:38.67\00:49:43.38 you sign up, you get a picture of your child. You get a letter from your child you have the 00:49:43.38\00:49:49.92 opportunity to write back to them. So letter would come to us. We can scan and send it 00:49:49.92\00:49:54.36 directly to our field partner and they can get it to the child. So it will be actually 00:49:54.36\00:49:58.36 your letter. It's not, you know, some made up thing. And during Christmas, like I said, 00:49:58.36\00:50:03.43 we have a special gift fund for every kid in our sponsorship 00:50:03.43\00:50:07.64 program. So you get a picture of your kid with the gift, the right, your Christmas letter at 00:50:07.64\00:50:12.41 that time and then you get to see great. they will actually send us directly from the 00:50:12.41\00:50:17.65 school, their progress report. And then you get to see that that they're actually in school. 00:50:17.65\00:50:21.05 They're making good grades. We have someone check on them twice 00:50:21.05\00:50:25.05 a year when school starts, we make sure that they came back to school. They're still in the 00:50:25.05\00:50:27.79 sponsorship program. And then once throughout the year to make sure the kind of like second 00:50:27.79\00:50:31.19 semester that they're still going to school. And so there's lots of opportunities 00:50:31.19\00:50:35.53 to interact with them. And then at the beginning of every school year, we take a new 00:50:35.53\00:50:37.97 picture of the child. So you can see kind of their growth and development along the way. 00:50:37.97\00:50:43.47 And you can see, yeah, this is a real kid who I'm making a difference in their life. 00:50:43.47\00:50:50.58 That's beautiful. >> The I think we might have time if we do 00:50:50.58\00:50:53.35 quickly, one more project about Kenya, what's happening in Kenya? >> For that one. So we 00:50:53.35\00:51:00.96 have 2 projects we have a school that was foster kids at called Kingsway. And we've got about 00:51:00.96\00:51:05.09 50 kids. We sponsor from Kingsway. But the really interesting kind of operation 00:51:05.09\00:51:10.03 Child Rescue Project is one that is Ron phenomenally by partner. We have there. She's 00:51:10.03\00:51:16.00 been doing this for a long time. She grew up as a as a missionary 00:51:16.00\00:51:21.84 child in Kenya and this addresses the issue of what's called FGM or female genital 00:51:21.84\00:51:25.55 mutilation. This is a problem in Kenya. And they work with social services to identify children 00:51:25.55\00:51:34.39 where there's been a court where this is. It's not legal there, but it's still happening that 00:51:34.39\00:51:39.09 kind of out in the Bush and and then social services were for these girls to this home 00:51:39.09\00:51:42.40 where they can grow up and a very safe environment. And so we support that safe house 00:51:42.40\00:51:47.50 there in Kenya. So it's really a heavy but they've created this away sis in Kenya are 00:51:47.50\00:51:56.91 doing just a phenomenal job caring for the girl. So who's been subjected to this social 00:51:56.91\00:52:03.02 workers. Counselors. There's a lot of involvement there to give 00:52:03.02\00:52:08.06 them the necessary support systems. >> To heal. So they're on the website to they can be 00:52:08.06\00:52:09.99 sponsored or is this? >> It's an operation Child Rescue Project. 00:52:09.99\00:52:14.46 Yeah, but we there's not that we don't have a school attached to that project. Okay. 00:52:14.46\00:52:18.97 >> But you can go say you go to website, child Impact Dot or her child impact Org. If 00:52:18.97\00:52:23.87 you go to that website, could could you say yes, I'm one of some just support the project 00:52:23.87\00:52:27.48 in Kenya like sponsoring a child. You know, we have the umbrella of Operation Child 00:52:27.48\00:52:31.18 Rescue covers all the projects we've talked. >> The And so 00:52:31.18\00:52:34.88 that's very the most effective way to do that because we're adding new projects as we go 00:52:34.88\00:52:39.42 along. In fact, we met with the donor today that had a passion for the project in Colombia. But 00:52:39.42\00:52:44.46 he said he's happy for the funds he gave to support related to 00:52:44.46\00:52:50.30 Operation Child Rescue Man. Yeah. >> We're almost at the end of the 2 hours. I can't believe 00:52:50.30\00:52:56.47 how lead those. Let's just go around the circle and we'll get some closing thoughts. 00:52:56.47\00:52:59.14 This whatever's on your heart. share Comey about one of the projects are about something 00:52:59.14\00:53:03.45 out, Sanjay, so we'll start with you in to score on, sir. Yes, I 00:53:03.45\00:53:08.12 was >> and I feel like you kind of alluded to this earlier issue with, you know, there's 00:53:08.12\00:53:12.32 50 million children and adults in modern day slavery, the numbers. So here's what can I 00:53:12.32\00:53:17.46 do? But if you can get involved in the life of one person. That 00:53:17.46\00:53:22.80 person's whole life will be changed forever to free that person from slavery. And so what 00:53:22.80\00:53:27.54 is the one thing, you know, that that people can do to get involved? I think there some 00:53:27.54\00:53:31.01 some ways you can get involved, their child impact. You know, financially you can go on a 00:53:31.01\00:53:35.94 mission trip. But there are other ways in our daily life where you can get involved in. 00:53:35.94\00:53:39.61 One of those is. Do you know where your clothes are made? You know where your food came 00:53:39.61\00:53:46.39 from? Buying fairtrade looking for ethically sourced goods for your home. That's that's 00:53:46.39\00:53:51.16 one way that with your purchasing power, you're making a decision on where 00:53:51.16\00:53:56.63 you're getting things. Yes, the second thing is I met with a police officer once who 00:53:56.63\00:54:01.40 operate a safe home for girls. And she said these girls see the lifestyle of people in the 00:54:01.40\00:54:06.64 west on social media and for a 14, 15 year-old girl who wants that lifestyle. The only way 00:54:06.64\00:54:11.98 that she knows how to get that kind of money as a child is to sell herself. either this kind 00:54:11.98\00:54:18.39 of thought and I want to leave with people is what is the lifestyle that were portraying 00:54:18.39\00:54:22.96 2 others that maybe are even in other countries and seeing that. And it's not most of the 00:54:22.96\00:54:25.99 times I've been real, but it's causing them to maybe causing and the right word. But 00:54:25.99\00:54:32.13 they're seeing that and they're making very poor decisions trying to get things 00:54:32.13\00:54:34.70 that were portraying that we have here. It's negatively affecting their lives. So 00:54:34.70\00:54:39.24 think about those type of decisions that you make on a daily basis. This really 00:54:39.24\00:54:42.08 powerful. Yeah. After time, I believe are placed in this world to make a difference. 00:54:42.08\00:54:46.35 And I want to be all in. >> In making that difference. And I I 00:54:46.35\00:54:51.22 see that when one child is helped, that there's a ripple impact of their nuclear family 00:54:51.22\00:54:59.46 relatives, even the community, I think of the impact of one particular gentleman runs one of 00:54:59.46\00:55:04.80 our tween that I mention. His name is Melissa and he's the executive secretary for the 00:55:04.80\00:55:10.47 division in Africa as a child. He was taken to the home of missionaries who raised him 00:55:10.47\00:55:17.18 and gave him a vision for something bigger for his life. And now he's committed even in 00:55:17.18\00:55:21.05 that busy role that he's in, he's committed to continue that legacy of this school. 00:55:21.05\00:55:26.45 And then were, you know, there's a lot your child marriage things 00:55:26.45\00:55:31.23 kind of things are happening. There are a lot of poverty and he stayed engaged with that 00:55:31.23\00:55:35.03 because his life was changed. Tion because somebody said I will make a difference for that 00:55:35.03\00:55:40.87 one. And so I think really what we're saying is that you can make a difference for one, but 00:55:40.87\00:55:44.57 you don't know how big that impact really might be. That's 00:55:44.57\00:55:48.94 powerful. Ashley. >> A few seconds. Yeah. I think I would just say from personal 00:55:48.94\00:55:51.48 experience, if you feel like God is calling you to work directly ministry or to work, maybe by 00:55:51.48\00:55:56.85 sponsoring a child any certain way. Ministry do it. Don't ignore it. Do if all goes 00:55:56.85\00:56:05.06 calling. And a man. Thank you all so much for being here. Jason and Doctor Tom and Ashley. 00:56:05.06\00:56:09.23 >> We believe in the Ministry of Child Impact in super excited 00:56:09.23\00:56:12.87 about how you are pushing back the darkness and helping Reese. You have a closing thought or so 00:56:12.87\00:56:17.64 in your heart. I was just thinking about Isaiah 58 and the promise is that when we do 00:56:17.64\00:56:22.41 liberate the captives well, it's going to be like a well of water 00:56:22.41\00:56:28.22 springing up God's going to bless us. If we give, he's going to keep giving to us so that we 00:56:28.22\00:56:32.12 can keep, you know, helping with the problem and Christianity isn't practical as worthless 00:56:32.12\00:56:37.36 right? So that's what Isaiah 58 was just communicating to me right now. Just like no, do 00:56:37.36\00:56:40.83 this. And God's going to bless you. I and that's powerful. Thank you for being here tonight 00:56:40.83\00:56:48.54 and he's got to flout early tomorrow morning. So pray for the afternoon as they head 00:56:48.54\00:56:51.81 back Thank you for being here. >> And thank you for being intentional about reaching out 00:56:51.81\00:56:58.05 and be in the hands and feet of Jesus. Whatever God calls you to do in your neighborhood 00:56:58.05\00:57:02.82 with your family and your community, get out and do that. 00:57:02.82\00:57:04.09 >> We've ¤ ¤ 00:57:04.09\00:57:16.20 ¤ ¤ ¤ 00:57:16.20\00:57:31.25 ¤ ¤ ¤ 00:57:31.25\00:57:46.46 ¤ ¤ 00:57:46.46\00:58:06.41
