>> Welcome back to the second now of a program that I believe is most relevant for 00:00:12.31\00:00:15.48 the growth and the >> health of the Christian Church evangelism. 00:00:15.48\00:00:21.72 One word that on which the salvation of all of humanity is hinged. We've had past the 00:00:21.72\00:00:26.52 camera division is going to continue. Thank you for what you talk about in the first hour. I 00:00:26.52\00:00:29.76 think your side, I don't know. I get that impression. But thank you for your passion and 00:00:29.76\00:00:34.83 your commitment to evangelism and what you do for the cause of Christ. And some of the 00:00:34.83\00:00:40.67 myths and misconceptions of the evangelists. And if you're just joining us, you may have 00:00:40.67\00:00:44.24 missed the first out. But we're going to continue and maybe reiterate some of those 00:00:44.24\00:00:49.81 things. But what I want to start and buy diving into is giving 00:00:49.81\00:00:54.78 our viewers and listeners the information that they would need. We are taking questions in 00:00:54.78\00:00:59.25 this hour. And if you have any questions about evangelism, you could be about budget. So 00:00:59.25\00:01:05.43 whatever the method, whatever comes to mind, you can send that question too. 6, 1, 8, 2 to 8, 00:01:05.43\00:01:12.27 39. 75. That's if you want to texted or you can e-mail those to live at 3 ABN DOT TV. Send 00:01:12.27\00:01:19.91 those in before this hour's open, which are past division will try to answer those. one 00:01:19.91\00:01:25.05 of the questions I exit out with. And I like to come back in to that is it deceptive to 00:01:25.05\00:01:35.12 hide our denominational identity to do it. Public evangelism, I 00:01:35.12\00:01:40.03 would say it a definitive no. It is not deceptive it. Now, let's walk through a little bit now. 00:01:40.03\00:01:46.03 This concept is I think deeply rooted like what we need to tell people that like you put 00:01:46.03\00:01:51.17 out an advertisement, it should say brought to you by the 7th Avenue Church. teach 00:01:51.17\00:01:55.38 about that. >> And we we feel probably a good feeling. We want 00:01:55.38\00:01:59.18 to make sure you get everything out on the table. So there's no questions at all. But if you 00:01:59.18\00:02:02.95 look at the Ministry of Jesus, for example, OK, many times that he tell people and don't 00:02:02.95\00:02:08.89 tell people who did this. Don't when Peters confession of Christ, he said knots, keep 00:02:08.89\00:02:13.66 this to yourself essentially, right? People he'll be 6. Don't go tell the precinct 00:02:13.66\00:02:17.13 what was going on. The quintessential example, in my estimation, is the road to Why 00:02:17.13\00:02:22.27 Luke Chapter? 24 Jesus, his, you know, walking along with these 00:02:22.27\00:02:27.28 disciples. But he purposefully disguises right? And so it's not deceptive. He didn't call 00:02:27.28\00:02:34.08 himself another name but heat. He limited their exposure to information to what they could 00:02:34.08\00:02:37.85 handle at the time. Right. And so why does he do? And he's walking along the and the the 00:02:37.85\00:02:44.46 interaction. If you've never of the story you've 24 in fastest 00:02:44.46\00:02:49.00 of is one of my favorites. I think great. I preached a sermon in the Spanish country not 00:02:49.00\00:02:54.37 called it. Agua hot water, hot water because you know the word emails means hot water. How 00:02:54.37\00:03:00.61 about week, OK, Andrew Cement peace. So they were leaving Jerusalem. The city of peace 00:03:00.61\00:03:05.45 going downhill 7 miles on their way to hot water, hot water when 00:03:05.45\00:03:08.62 they met Jesus and of that identity. So >> let's go to that. I love areas. Just 00:03:08.62\00:03:13.59 instrumental. Look, ye and in take a look at it and says he had to. 24 is overturning 00:03:13.59\00:03:17.46 exactly. It says here, let's go down to let's go to first 15 K so was while they conversed in 00:03:17.46\00:03:26.97 reason to these are these disappointed disciples right after the they didn't know the 00:03:26.97\00:03:30.91 resurrection of Jesus happen that Jesus himself drew near and went with them to try. And 00:03:30.91\00:03:35.34 that's all we had They should be. So your choice for their walking with Jesus. But an 00:03:35.34\00:03:38.38 expert says. >> But their eyes were restrained so that they did 00:03:38.38\00:03:42.92 not know him. He didn't identify the purposely their eyes were 00:03:42.92\00:03:47.86 strain. So he was still the same person. But made sure they didn't recognize him. That 00:03:47.86\00:03:52.26 right. And then he starts going through the motions of this. What kind of conversation is why 00:03:52.26\00:03:57.50 are downtrodden and they start to love this correcting Jesus, teaching Jesus or you're the 00:03:57.50\00:04:03.51 only one who doesn't know what went Then where have you been these? Then? He without 00:04:03.51\00:04:08.81 revealing his identity right? It says here, then in 25 foolish ones and slow of hard 00:04:08.81\00:04:17.75 to believe in all that the profits have spoken. not the Christ who have suffered these 00:04:17.75\00:04:21.72 things and to enter into his glory and notice 27 and beginning at Moses, of course, 00:04:21.72\00:04:28.63 is the first author of Scriptures. That could be the book of Genesis itself right? 00:04:28.63\00:04:32.87 Moses and all the profits he expounded to them in all the scriptures, the things 00:04:32.87\00:04:39.47 concerning himself. He was teaching them about himself without revealing himself. 00:04:39.47\00:04:46.95 That right. So why did he do it in this? Wouldn't the simplest way to reveal himself 00:04:46.95\00:04:49.95 be high? But he didn't do that. Why? Because he wanted to walk 00:04:49.95\00:04:58.83 them through an understanding of God's word so that when they did have the recognition of who was 00:04:58.83\00:05:03.93 it wasn't based on a fleeting feeling or some sort of like something else that could be 00:05:03.93\00:05:07.77 blown away by some other wind of Dist. They would have an established faith on the word 00:05:07.77\00:05:13.34 of God. Now, as the story continues at CES. He goes on. They constrained him a verse. 00:05:13.34\00:05:21.12 29 saying abide with us for just toward evening. The day is far spent. First 30 now 00:05:21.12\00:05:23.72 when it came to pass as he sat at the table with them that he took bread, blessed and broke 00:05:23.72\00:05:28.69 it and gave it to them. Then their eyes were open to try and they knew him. now I like 00:05:28.69\00:05:34.46 to read into this just a little bit. He's sitting at table with 00:05:34.46\00:05:40.07 them and now he extends himself to give them the bread, right? That's right. Dimon, opens up 00:05:40.07\00:05:45.31 those hands and for him brief moment. Their eyes are completely unveiled, right? 00:05:45.31\00:05:51.21 And they know exactly who he is. And then it says and he vanished from their site. So 00:05:51.21\00:05:57.12 far, only a brief moment that they see Jesus face to face. It 00:05:57.12\00:06:00.09 had to be the most exhilarating like. Flood of light dawning on them. They like, oh, and I have 00:06:00.09\00:06:07.60 to imagine that Jesus maybe smiled and winked or something as he left, you know, but 00:06:07.60\00:06:11.97 regardless he vanishes and what was their And they said to one another verse. 32, it 00:06:11.97\00:06:18.07 did not. Our heartburn with in us while he talked with us on the road. And while he what 00:06:18.07\00:06:24.15 open the scriptures open the switch. They looked back and said. The power of this moment 00:06:24.15\00:06:30.15 wasn't just seeing Jesus in person. It was understanding Jesus from the scripture 00:06:30.15\00:06:36.09 itself. Now we have a faith that even if Jesus is not here personally in our present, we 00:06:36.09\00:06:42.53 have a knowledge of who he is. That is as solid as scripture itself. So the method Jesus 00:06:42.53\00:06:48.50 use was he was scriptural before he became personal. Well, exactly, especially in 00:06:48.50\00:06:53.81 primary and this story exactly when you think about it. If we were to start off by saying 00:06:53.81\00:06:58.45 we're 7th Avenue, we believe in and mortality. So we believe in 00:06:58.45\00:07:00.52 the second coming is not. It's too much right? It's over. It's over killed, right? It is not 00:07:00.52\00:07:07.02 being as wise as serpents and harmless as doves, which by the way, Jesus gave that in the 00:07:07.02\00:07:12.26 context of soul winning evangelist, he says I'm sending you out and you need to be wise 00:07:12.26\00:07:16.80 as serpents witches. You know, the serpent is a representation 00:07:16.80\00:07:20.20 of Satan, but Florida, Satan. But pure is Christ right. And so we have the example of crisis 00:07:20.20\00:07:26.37 see how to apply that in the work of so winning an evangelist sister. What makes an 00:07:26.37\00:07:31.55 interesting comment on this? 2 of 2, brother who's headed out on a missionary in Denver. You 00:07:31.55\00:07:37.22 can find this in testimony to Southern Africa Page 17. She says this to this missionary. 00:07:37.22\00:07:43.46 Do not feel that you're bound and duty. The first thing to tell the people we're 7 Davin 00:07:43.46\00:07:49.13 us. We believe the 7th is a Sabbath. We believe in the mortality, the soul. 00:07:49.13\00:07:54.27 >> And thus direct, most formidable barriers between you and those who wish to 00:07:54.27\00:07:57.54 reach. And she explains how do not feel as an honest man that you must tell all that you do 00:07:57.54\00:08:02.98 believe at the very onset. So it's not at all deceptive to say we're going to be looking 00:08:02.98\00:08:08.58 at prophecies from the word of God and we're going to open our bibles and see what his 00:08:08.58\00:08:12.85 for truth is for today. And we look at the signs of the end. We're going to look at 00:08:12.85\00:08:19.23 prophetic images. That's exactly what we're going to be doing it 00:08:19.23\00:08:23.30 right. And so it's not at all disingenuous. We don't start off with the state of the dead or 00:08:23.30\00:08:25.37 that secret rapture or the mark of the beast. We're going to get there as people walk through 00:08:25.37\00:08:29.80 scripture. And when we get to the rim that church well start to say, well, OK, what I'm 00:08:29.80\00:08:35.01 looking for, these identifying characteristics who keep the Commandments of God that the 00:08:35.01\00:08:39.55 testimony of Jesus who preach the 3 Angels message? Well, there's only one option left 00:08:39.55\00:08:44.99 trying, right? So it's not at all bait and switch. It's exactly the method that Christ 00:08:44.99\00:08:51.56 used to help people see and see the truth as it is in Jesus and build their faith on 00:08:51.56\00:08:55.96 something solid. That's very good because a lot of times. Being a involved in media past 00:08:55.96\00:09:01.30 with the evidence church for 35 years now seeing the storms because sometimes people tend 00:09:01.30\00:09:08.28 to pigeonhole. To nominations based on their miske understanding of the 00:09:08.28\00:09:13.78 nominating. >> And that's not unusual. I've often said to 00:09:13.78\00:09:18.15 people, if you want to find out what we believe is people don't go to you to come to us because 00:09:18.15\00:09:24.76 you to vote. I think that explains it all for sure if YouTube universe, but it's also 00:09:24.76\00:09:29.20 very skew toward the person that's making the presentation. And some people say, well, you 00:09:29.20\00:09:33.17 know, they hide their identity, didn't want you to know anything 00:09:33.17\00:09:35.67 they want to sneak up on you and kind of just draw all u N. But if you look at the scriptures 00:09:35.67\00:09:39.24 data's, not exactly what that's not at all. What being done. You follow the method of crisis as 00:09:39.24\00:09:45.21 in first. 35. He was known to them in the breaking of Wait a minute. That was a seven-mile 00:09:45.21\00:09:53.19 journey. Why did he reveal himself in the first What about 00:09:53.19\00:09:59.19 the Second did you forget in the 3rd Miley could have said to him on the Christ couldn't taken the 00:09:59.19\00:10:03.20 opportunity when when they were saying are you the only one in Jerusalem that didn't know what 00:10:03.20\00:10:08.00 happened? You could is that, hey, it happened to me like I know. First, I know first he 00:10:08.00\00:10:11.04 could have done in the 4th mile. Why not? The 5th smile? I mean, surely you welcome 6 00:10:11.04\00:10:14.61 miles and nothing happens. You about to walk right past my house and you would not have 00:10:14.61\00:10:20.68 come in unless we invited you in. You wait to the last moment 00:10:20.68\00:10:25.55 to the breaking of bread. It was him all along. So here's the point that you made and I really 00:10:25.55\00:10:34.76 like this. Let the focal point not be you. God's word. Yes. And when the focal point is God's 00:10:34.76\00:10:42.10 word, you'll find Christ. Amen. That's exactly what I get in first. 35. He was known to 00:10:42.10\00:10:46.64 them in the breaking of bread. It's not about us. It's about him. But the revelation of 00:10:46.64\00:10:50.95 Jesus, which is a book of revelation, be the focal point. 00:10:50.95\00:10:55.65 So so it's not deceptive. Then to not at the very outset say, hey, guys, here's who we are. 00:10:55.65\00:11:01.86 That's what we've been doing for the last 135 years. no, just say, well, hey, we want to share 00:11:01.86\00:11:07.96 with you what God's word says, absent you'll discover God in the process, if you again, did 00:11:07.96\00:11:12.23 the best exemplar of this is Jesus himself. You look at the woman at the way you look at 00:11:12.23\00:11:16.27 every interaction he meets them where they are and starts there, 00:11:16.27\00:11:19.24 you know, and just works with them. From that perspective and guides them on to what they can 00:11:19.24\00:11:25.48 it handle. And it's exactly the method of Jesus. He. You hit another example, the woman at 00:11:25.48\00:11:29.62 the well, he said when he was. Pulling that slowly out that evangelistic through, think is 00:11:29.62\00:11:36.12 that, hey, by the way, when you get some water, let me let me take care that water. Come 00:11:36.12\00:11:39.36 on up. But he that to me. I call that the reciprocal because lot 00:11:39.36\00:11:46.87 of times we think that Jesus just once something from us. So at that, we want something from 00:11:46.87\00:11:54.28 But that's the first time I saw script of what he wants. Something from us. Get me to 00:11:54.28\00:11:58.25 drink. He wants us to quench his thirst. Also. But let's go back to this here because some 00:11:58.25\00:12:03.05 questions have come in. Okay that I want castaway and we have, by the way, have quite a 00:12:03.05\00:12:08.02 bit to cover. We'll try to get this in before the album just 10. Some of these questions. I 00:12:08.02\00:12:12.29 think this is a common and the answer. The question. Church needs a Bible worker that will 00:12:12.29\00:12:19.10 do Bible work. Letitia evangelism, untrained eye members, adult and youth in 00:12:19.10\00:12:21.30 that work. Had little success in finding one. How do we find one? 00:12:21.30\00:12:32.18 Well, that's a challenging question if you're looking for by the worker. But the first 00:12:32.18\00:12:34.32 thing I would say because I'm not a specialist and I don't have a whole stack of Bible 00:12:34.32\00:12:38.45 workers. I can deploy out there, you know, ministries that trained by the workers for that 00:12:38.45\00:12:40.46 very cause. But I will tell you that. >> Employment of Bible workers as a vocation has gone 00:12:40.46\00:12:48.33 down tremendously in the last decade or so. You know it his reasons for unemployment in 00:12:48.33\00:12:53.44 conference in church is stipends and all kinds of structural 00:12:53.44\00:12:55.37 things have been dent in that. I would say that if there was no such thing as a Bible worker. By 00:12:55.37\00:13:00.94 the work should still go forward and the ultimate goal would be the have the minister not only 00:13:00.94\00:13:09.15 be an evangelist in his own right, but trainer of 00:13:09.15\00:13:12.32 Evangelists in the congregation so that church members themselves would be out there 00:13:12.32\00:13:18.39 giving Bible studies finding leads an interest in doing the work of evangelists in the full 00:13:18.39\00:13:22.86 cycle, partnering with pastor the public phase and all the different things that go into 00:13:22.86\00:13:27.20 it. That Situates says that every church should be a training school for Christian 00:13:27.20\00:13:30.57 workers tried and that the member should be taught how to get Bible studies, how to get 00:13:30.57\00:13:34.08 how to teach at a school classes, how to help the poor and how to work for the 00:13:34.08\00:13:39.95 unconverted. And so we oftentimes have a model. Right now where and, you know, an 00:13:39.95\00:13:46.79 average church might have 100 members and they're watching one man work. When the reality is 00:13:46.79\00:13:52.33 his job is to help them to get to do their job. Watch that. We have 101 workers in the church. 00:13:52.33\00:13:59.37 And so, yes, he's still going to his individual labor. But his other job is to help. In fact, 00:13:59.37\00:14:04.74 let's take a look at this in a fusion is with you, OK? Ephesians chapter for one of 00:14:04.74\00:14:08.04 the day. Powerful things we find in scripture is this division of 00:14:08.04\00:14:16.99 Duty, if you will, in the body of Christ in fees Chapter 4 verse 11, it says and he gave he 00:14:16.99\00:14:21.96 himself, gave some to be apostles. Some profits, some evangelists and some pastors and 00:14:21.96\00:14:26.76 teachers. Let's pause right there. The fact that says some strongly implies that is not all 00:14:26.76\00:14:34.37 but some are right. Some are pastors. And what's the purpose of these positions in 00:14:34.37\00:14:38.07 the church for the equipping of the Saints? Exactly work of minutes, right for equipping 00:14:38.07\00:14:44.55 the Saints to do work of ministry. Right? And if you skip down to the end, he talks 00:14:44.55\00:14:48.22 about how the whole body joining together. But I want everyone Pfizer, 16, exactly 00:14:48.22\00:14:53.76 when every part doesn't share causes growth of the body price. Right? So sometimes 00:14:53.76\00:14:59.96 people like if we only had a pastor or a trainer or teacher or an evangelist, then the 00:14:59.96\00:15:03.30 work we go forward. But the Bible tells us that the role of the pastor, they've 00:15:03.30\00:15:07.97 Angeles, the teacher is to equip the members for missionary 00:15:07.97\00:15:14.11 service. So while it can be a benefit and there are occasions when you can have a Bible worker 00:15:14.11\00:15:18.58 praise the Lord, but I like their emphasis. If you're bringing them in, they shouldn't 00:15:18.58\00:15:23.22 be just there to do the work. It should be helping us to know how to do the work. So that by 00:15:23.22\00:15:27.56 God's grace, we'll all be workers in the cause I didn't actually mention that in the 00:15:27.56\00:15:32.36 early part of the problem. The ephesians 2.10, Aspen, but we are as workmanship. that's our 00:15:32.36\00:15:37.23 employment to do. Work. Here's why God calls us. you know, it's like saying a I keep 00:15:37.23\00:15:43.54 going back to the Apple example. You know, we need somebody to 00:15:43.54\00:15:47.94 cell phones. Don't you work for Apple in the Apple Store? What do you do? Well? I believe in 00:15:47.94\00:15:53.28 the product, but I'm not. Train to cell So are you technician? No. But I work for Apple, but 00:15:53.28\00:16:01.72 so what do you do? Well? I love their product like, well, I'm a little boy by Apple, but 00:16:01.72\00:16:10.27 each one of us has something to do so shoe sometimes it falls on 00:16:10.27\00:16:14.10 the shoulder of us has passed us. What if I have no church support for evangelism? They 00:16:14.10\00:16:22.74 either don't have the budget. do not want to help evangelize. Do I try to find his church? Well, 00:16:22.74\00:16:30.69 let's not jump to that right away. But let's assume that it's 00:16:30.69\00:16:38.69 not for you know. Malevolent reasons that they're not against you. They just can't afford it 00:16:38.69\00:16:41.03 right now where they just never thought about it or maybe they're just it's it's it's not 00:16:41.03\00:16:45.60 on their radar screen or something like, OK, but you have this burden for winning souls. 00:16:45.60\00:16:48.54 Yeah. The first thing I would say is go in fact, I don't say that Jesus is the Lord has 00:16:48.54\00:16:53.01 laid on you right? And so one of the best things you can do to help a church grow is start 00:16:53.01\00:16:59.58 doing the work yourself and start being an example. And if you start showing up to stuff 00:16:59.58\00:17:06.05 and always having something to share and maybe have a visitor with you or start talking 00:17:06.05\00:17:08.92 about how in my interaction this week I've been giving this Bible 00:17:08.92\00:17:13.23 say people are going to start to notice that they're going to ask him questions and it's going to 00:17:13.23\00:17:16.16 start too, you know, a stir Scripture says Love and good works. And I love that 00:17:16.16\00:17:22.20 imagery, by the way, from the book of Hebrews were talks stirring up loving, good 00:17:22.20\00:17:24.77 works. It implies that love and good works are in there somewhere to try that in the 00:17:24.77\00:17:33.52 anyone who has ever had an encounter with Christ. It did. And they might have a callus 00:17:33.52\00:17:37.59 over that to s**** soft spot, you know, but in their heart of hearts, they know the fears 00:17:37.59\00:17:44.89 a stirring that there's a capacity there. There's a longing for more. But 00:17:44.89\00:17:48.90 sometimes those settle down to the bottom and the love and good works gets separated out 00:17:48.90\00:17:54.14 like a like a good jar. Peanut butter. You know, the healthy stuff kind of stir it up And 00:17:54.14\00:17:58.37 so if I were in a local church, in fact, not if I was a local church since that kind 00:17:58.37\00:18:03.51 of the conference office. Choose where to be member of church. I was in the sine, the 00:18:03.51\00:18:10.19 pastor to church as the pastor. And so. Where do you go? Well, I 00:18:10.19\00:18:15.66 wanted to place right? Be of service. I want to be helpful and, you know, for awhile there, 00:18:15.66\00:18:22.63 I didn't have any local office, by the way. Now on the person Ministries leader for our 00:18:22.63\00:18:25.17 local church in this at a school teacher, too. But regardless, if 00:18:25.17\00:18:32.24 I ever had an office where gather given a budget or had a title, I don't care. I'm going 00:18:32.24\00:18:36.48 to still be working for souls in this church help move this church and grow it for God's 00:18:36.48\00:18:41.95 grace, even on my own. If no one else helps me to try and that individual commitment this 00:18:41.95\00:18:46.76 contagious and other people will start to question and asking, how can I be part of 00:18:46.76\00:18:50.76 this, too? And what's different about you and it will by God's 00:18:50.76\00:18:55.60 grace, grow up into a benefit. Wow. That's that's good. Going back to the personal and both of 00:18:55.60\00:18:59.33 these questions right away addressed an issue that I'm so glad you're here for take us a 00:18:59.33\00:19:05.94 lot of times. Take off the tee off from the word worker. Hend Bible work is something all of 00:19:05.94\00:19:14.68 us each one of us should be involved in and it goes back to the Fusion's, for get to 00:19:14.68\00:19:19.75 training people so they could find a level of comfort. Let's talk about the fear factor. 00:19:19.75\00:19:24.13 Okay. That's a lot of times. Fear plays a major role on 2 levels sometimes we're fearful 00:19:24.13\00:19:28.60 of their fear. That's great. It then our fear of their fear has created in their Our fear 00:19:28.60\00:19:37.81 of their fear is greater than their fear. >> You know, like a 00:19:37.81\00:19:40.41 people's ala. So fear probably comes in various forms for different people. Some people 00:19:40.41\00:19:50.62 might be afraid. >> That they're going to be rejection like they 00:19:50.62\00:19:52.85 go door to door. of the main reason people go door to door is because they're afraid of the 00:19:52.85\00:19:55.72 door being slammed right Other people might be up for it. I think that you're right about 00:19:55.72\00:20:02.50 that that I've had far more pop, positive interactions, the negative. I mean, on a 00:20:02.50\00:20:08.34 scale of 100 to one, probably I can think of a very few times someone has been just 00:20:08.34\00:20:11.74 vulgar, rude and just that horrible to me at door. I I guess it can happen from time 00:20:11.74\00:20:16.54 to time. But somehow this character is out there that if I step forward in it's going 00:20:16.54\00:20:20.52 to be the I honestly believe the phantom some time. Yeah, it is in. So there it is a 00:20:20.52\00:20:27.26 false fear that can be alleviated just by going out and seeing that is not true. 00:20:27.26\00:20:30.69 Come along with me, will go door to door and find people are nice. You know, it's OK, 00:20:30.69\00:20:35.16 the pen. There's another fear that it might be more legitimate. It's not so much a 00:20:35.16\00:20:38.93 fear. People saying no. I think is a fear. People saying yes. Would you like to study 00:20:38.93\00:20:44.31 the Bible? You like? Absolutely. I've been praying. Can we start 00:20:44.31\00:20:51.61 right now? I wasn't. I was I was geared up for the no. I was bracing for the slammed door 00:20:51.61\00:20:58.49 right? But I don't know to do in someone's actually eager and interested. And so there's a 00:20:58.49\00:21:02.82 lack of preparation. I don't know what I would do. I don't know how it fit my schedule. I 00:21:02.82\00:21:05.26 don't know what resource to use. So that lack of familiarity and training and preparation can 00:21:05.26\00:21:11.23 lead to a can lead to some fears on the moment on their own. That can be alleviated by 00:21:11.23\00:21:15.57 preparation in practice. And I love this one. It kind of ties to the spiritual gift. I'm 00:21:15.57\00:21:22.11 afraid it's not my spiritual gift. don't feel it's my spiritual gift. Well, I don't 00:21:22.11\00:21:27.62 know where we got this idea that spiritual gifts are just the things we're all ready 00:21:27.62\00:21:31.19 automatically interested in or the things we're naturally interested in or have a 00:21:31.19\00:21:35.82 passion for something like this. But nowhere in scripture. Do we 00:21:35.82\00:21:42.03 find witnessing as a spiritual gift? Now, no sharing your faith is not an option for 00:21:42.03\00:21:46.60 that. Is your light shine? It's let your light shine. It could be part and parcel who 00:21:46.60\00:21:50.57 you are as a follower of Jesus Christ. And so. When people say things like it's not my 00:21:50.57\00:21:56.24 gift to I'm not that good at it. All right. You that you might not be good at it. You 00:21:56.24\00:22:01.15 might stumble. You might not know what to do, OK? But I would lay this out there. If 00:22:01.15\00:22:07.62 you are in a car crash. And your leg were mangled and had to be repaired and you had to 00:22:07.62\00:22:15.16 be laid up in hospital bed and for from while there's apparatus and rods and Cass is 00:22:15.16\00:22:20.27 a mess right? But over time it starts to Hugh up in the day comes you can start taking all 00:22:20.27\00:22:26.44 that apparatus often. You cut off the cast and and that the physician comes in. So let's 00:22:26.44\00:22:30.01 take a look at you. Well, first of all, is that Legan look different on the other 00:22:30.01\00:22:33.42 one. Sure it's going to be at your feet. Abed is going to be. It's probably have little 00:22:33.42\00:22:38.45 discolored. Maybe it you may be even smelly. And so problems with that, had that 00:22:38.45\00:22:42.19 personal experience. You have, you know, that area. But if you are than to hop out of bed 00:22:42.19\00:22:46.46 and start, I was doing some jumping jacks or running. You fall over said no. And that 00:22:46.46\00:22:51.93 physical therapist is not going to come and say, oh, it's clear 00:22:51.93\00:22:54.17 you don't have the gift of mobility. Of course, not love they're going to say, well, of 00:22:54.17\00:23:00.28 course, you're not ready to run yet, but they're not going to rest. And they're not going to 00:23:00.28\00:23:06.75 say let's just schedule amputation. No, I'm going to say is let's start small us to some 00:23:06.75\00:23:11.99 stretching a little bit of flexing some weightless work on a range of motion and they were. 00:23:11.99\00:23:17.69 Let me put it this way being bad at something or unfamiliar with something is not evidence. You 00:23:17.69\00:23:21.43 need to do it less. It's evidence you need to do it more. Save that one more time. 00:23:21.43\00:23:26.30 Right? Being bad at something are being unfamiliar with something is not evidence. You 00:23:26.30\00:23:31.71 need to do it less its evidence. You need to do more now when it 00:23:31.71\00:23:35.01 comes to sharing your faith. How many people in our churches have never given a Bible study. 00:23:35.01\00:23:41.45 They've never invited someone to their church service. They've never gone door to door to talk 00:23:41.45\00:23:44.15 about an upcoming meeting. They've never sat with someone and and walked through the 00:23:44.15\00:23:48.82 scripture with them in lead to those convicting moments and in decisions for Jesus. That's 00:23:48.82\00:23:53.83 so true. And if they ever do, they might be squeamish. They might be fearful. They might 00:23:53.83\00:23:57.87 be hesitant. They might, in fact, closing at it. And they could look back and say off 00:23:57.87\00:24:04.07 the I'm not prepared or I it's not my gift. And let me tell you something. Friends that 00:24:04.07\00:24:07.91 snow were found in scripture being that it's something we're being unfamiliar is not 00:24:07.91\00:24:12.28 evidence. Utilizes evidence. You need to do it more. And I believe that the Lord wants us 00:24:12.28\00:24:17.25 to get active in our faith. And but sister White says this, our 00:24:17.25\00:24:22.16 capabilities will increase by use right capabilities will increase by as you may not be 00:24:22.16\00:24:28.63 that good right now. But you're next was going to be a little better to try. And it's just 00:24:28.63\00:24:33.07 we're doing at this idea that spiritual things have to go from 0 to 100 and that telling notes 00:24:33.07\00:24:36.27 from God, no, no, put it in practice and let the Lord grow you in his work, right? The 00:24:36.27\00:24:43.45 Bible use the phrase that grow by Hughes, thanks the growth of use. Yeah. I mean, that 00:24:43.45\00:24:47.55 example is just so clear to me because just use a short story with your wife came when we 00:24:47.55\00:24:52.29 came to 3 P in 19 years ago. The for least thing my wife ever think to do. She's so 00:24:52.29\00:24:59.96 good at it now better than I am. As an audio I couldn't get it to look at a wave file 00:24:59.96\00:25:07.74 affect my wife's definition for way. File we are good. But a look at this file. My audio 00:25:07.74\00:25:12.74 editor. That was a way file. But now. Amazed by how God has developed her. And once again, 00:25:12.74\00:25:20.85 the fact that something on familiar with, it doesn't mean that you need to do a less 00:25:20.85\00:25:25.09 means. You need to do it more. That's right. And that's how the gift has developed a. 00:25:25.09\00:25:29.49 >> I would just look at the camera, just maybe if you're driving, don't don't pull off 00:25:29.49\00:25:33.40 them if you You don't just listen carefully. If you're not comfortable doing it, if 00:25:33.40\00:25:38.17 you're fearful of doing if you don't know how to do it, that's an indication you need 00:25:38.17\00:25:42.57 to do it more so that you can game the skill and develop that skill because people that 00:25:42.57\00:25:47.91 are eventually better at what they do because practice doesn't 00:25:47.91\00:25:53.05 make perfect. Make sure that it and what you But it means you have to put some action into 00:25:53.05\00:25:57.85 that and say, OK? First time using Photoshop. I don't have a clue what these tools 30 years 00:25:57.85\00:26:03.73 later, 10 years, 2 Wow. Now you're telling other people that means it's all about training. 00:26:03.73\00:26:08.33 But I think that what we need to do is Christians need to get that mindset. That what 00:26:08.33\00:26:13.50 works in the world around them. Hes also a play couple to developing these Christians 00:26:13.50\00:26:19.91 killed. It's not always just this is your gift try to get the gift no. What is your 00:26:19.91\00:26:24.58 interest? That is not a bad thing. What are you interested I to learn how to evangelism a 00:26:24.58\00:26:31.49 minute, OK, talk about that. Or you could even say what is my interest? I enjoy these 00:26:31.49\00:26:36.52 hobbies. Will how can they use that in evangelism right now? So 00:26:36.52\00:26:42.13 the point is that. >> If evangelism and that soul winning that personal labor, whatever 00:26:42.13\00:26:46.80 you want to call it is an expectation of every church member, OK, well, then I have to 00:26:46.80\00:26:52.27 say, well, how it how can I go about doing this is not an if. How, and when. What tools 00:26:52.27\00:26:58.45 continues. Right? So now we've taken the option of not doing it off the table. Then how do I 00:26:58.45\00:27:01.78 start getting engaged with it? Well. First of all, like you talk about practice. I don't 00:27:01.78\00:27:08.92 know why it is. couldn't you take us out of the afternoon and get together with your own 00:27:08.92\00:27:13.86 people who aren't, you know, prospective members or new interests or or strangers down 00:27:13.86\00:27:17.03 the road and just get together and say, let's practice, let's iron sharpening iron. Let's 00:27:17.03\00:27:21.34 give Bible studies to each other right? First of all, you're going to be blessed by 00:27:21.34\00:27:24.77 studying the Bible, but you're going to do it in a way that you can prepare to share it 00:27:24.77\00:27:29.98 with someone else and they can give you feedback. And so I don't know why we don't do 00:27:29.98\00:27:33.08 that kind of training in churches and maybe there's a lot of churches to do. But 00:27:33.08\00:27:38.39 when Cisse, why go back to that statement? She said every church should be a training 00:27:38.39\00:27:40.46 school for Christian workers. We have to get in the mindset that church, at least in part, 00:27:40.46\00:27:45.89 is supposed to be school, right? I'm supposed to come to church, not just to receive 00:27:45.89\00:27:52.37 but be trained, equipped, inspired, resourced, whatever to go out and share. I'm going 00:27:52.37\00:27:57.17 to be turned into a just like Jesus said, come follow me. I'll make you become fishers 00:27:57.17\00:28:03.51 of men. So that when when those disciples put down the Nets left 00:28:03.51\00:28:08.25 the money box, right, and follow Jesus. They were just going to watch him work. He was going to 00:28:08.25\00:28:14.86 train them to be If you read to the Gospel record, that's what Jesus is doing over and over 00:28:14.86\00:28:21.00 again with its baptizing are helping feed the 5,000 or working with the groups. 00:28:21.00\00:28:24.30 Whatever was he was doing, he intentionally trained them in it. So by the time we get to 00:28:24.30\00:28:31.07 Luke Chapter 9, he can send them out and give them authority over 00:28:31.07\00:28:34.94 these things. Just like he had done. You're going to start working these lines, too. And 00:28:34.94\00:28:39.58 that's what our churches should be. They should be centers not only for inspiration, but also 00:28:39.58\00:28:43.05 for practical instruction and practice in training and equipping. So that. As a body 00:28:43.05\00:28:50.29 of Christ, we don't have non-functioning members reichen 00:28:50.29\00:28:56.43 body is working together and you mentioned we would. The Bible describes the church as body 00:28:56.43\00:29:03.14 with many moving parts. Anything that's not working. Is dysfunctional. right kind of 00:29:03.14\00:29:09.88 medical help in that respect. And that is that's what the spirit help. So you answer the 00:29:09.88\00:29:13.58 question. How does someone overcome the fear sharing their faith? What steps can I take to 00:29:13.58\00:29:16.45 start sharing my faith? You just answer that are there more ways to witness then other 00:29:16.45\00:29:21.79 than singing or preaching? What a more specific, somewhat specific ways people can tell 00:29:21.79\00:29:28.60 others about Christ. Let's talk about that for just a minute. 00:29:28.60\00:29:34.90 OK, right then. I don't know. I mean, obviously in the context of a public, an evangelistic 00:29:34.90\00:29:39.64 series where worship service is going to be singing. But I don't know a lot of people who go 00:29:39.64\00:29:41.71 around just in the grocery store or, you know that the you know, Secretary of state's office or 00:29:41.71\00:29:46.08 something just singing bursting out in the song or preaching a 00:29:46.08\00:29:51.22 Big Most interactions with people are not in those formal settings, right? So so the real 00:29:51.22\00:29:55.76 question is how can I without having to be have all the, you know, platform invitations in 00:29:55.76\00:30:01.53 the big, you know, structure there. How can I be useful in Seoul, winning and started 00:30:01.53\00:30:07.27 again spiritual traction with people in my own experience. One of the things we talk 00:30:07.27\00:30:12.87 about is when you talk about preparing the soil, transitioning from prep, 2 00:30:12.87\00:30:16.38 seed sowing, OK? A lot of times. We like to talk about. Taking a soil sample or sewing 00:30:16.38\00:30:25.19 test scenes. Okay. So what you can do is if you've got an established friendship or 00:30:25.19\00:30:31.96 you've been working on something and it's like how a transition from the secular to 00:30:31.96\00:30:35.10 the spiritual, how do I make that leap and see if there's an interest there right? You 00:30:35.10\00:30:37.37 don't go from, you know, raking the neighbor's yard to an appeal for her baptism. You 00:30:37.37\00:30:43.47 don't go from one nothing like that. You start gauging their spiritual interest and how do 00:30:43.47\00:30:47.84 you do it? Well, you just so some tests eat, if you will, 00:30:47.84\00:30:53.95 throw out into the conversation. Some spiritual terminologies or if they stalk about, I mean, you 00:30:53.95\00:30:57.82 can turn it. Especially now if you're talking about current events, you know, war in Europe. 00:30:57.82\00:31:05.76 Pandemic fears. You can just mentioned how you know, I agree with you. This is it's 00:31:05.76\00:31:13.80 alarming what's going on. And it's and staff because the Bible actually spoke about 00:31:13.80\00:31:15.97 that. Or our pastor this week was talk about that very thing. And you don't have to 00:31:15.97\00:31:21.91 say like brother, are you ready to give you're not a nice to, you know, making an 00:31:21.91\00:31:25.55 appeal. But you're just mentioning the flow of conversation our church was 00:31:25.55\00:31:28.58 just talking about In fact, we have these meetings coming up and you're sewing seeds now. 00:31:28.58\00:31:32.69 Did you ruin the friendship if they're not interested, though, they're fine. But you 00:31:32.69\00:31:38.43 recognize their soil may not be ready yet for that next step of appeal. But I want to 00:31:38.43\00:31:43.43 keep throwing out tests eaten, laying the groundwork for spiritual interest being 00:31:43.43\00:31:45.97 developed over time. Now, what might happen when they say I heard CERN about this or work, 00:31:45.97\00:31:53.27 we've got a set of meetings coming up in the case that tell me that. You think that 00:31:53.27\00:31:56.91 this virus was in prophecy? Well, the Bible talks about that. And I'm I'm excited 00:31:56.91\00:32:02.82 about learning and myself want to come with it. And all of a sudden you are being a vehicle 00:32:02.82\00:32:08.19 for the very message of this present truth and this and so if you're looking for once, 00:32:08.19\00:32:15.23 you've established those friendship, things and it doesn't take 10 years to make 00:32:15.23\00:32:19.10 a front, you can do it in an afternoon sometime sometime, right? Right. So this idea 00:32:19.10\00:32:23.00 that like, oh, my God, I can't I can't. So now it's too early to know the structure. 00:32:23.00\00:32:29.28 Scripture is so beside all water, so much anytime you have the opportunity. If the 00:32:29.28\00:32:32.65 Lord is leading you and you have the moment, put that in that right. And even if they 00:32:32.65\00:32:35.85 don't respond favorably, not all is lost. Come back and revisit 00:32:35.85\00:32:41.22 it. But you're starting to work around that cycle towards let's say that they. You built a 00:32:41.22\00:32:48.23 friendship of confidence by demonstrating your Christ like sympathy for the right. So a 00:32:48.23\00:32:52.77 little feet. And they say, you know what, I have it. It's interesting. You mention church. 00:32:52.77\00:32:57.87 I I used to go to church, knows a kid. I haven't gone church and how long it's been. You've just 00:32:57.87\00:33:06.82 notice there's an opening to spiritual things. Is late and something in their right to 00:33:06.82\00:33:09.58 look and you can go to the It's like, you know, I tell you what, which would you like 00:33:09.58\00:33:14.86 to come to church or want to what we study the bible maybe going to church is a little 00:33:14.86\00:33:16.93 too intimidating. But I how about this one? I've been taking a course of my in my 00:33:16.93\00:33:20.96 church. And they've been challenging us to go get Bible studies and I've never given a 00:33:20.96\00:33:26.23 Bible study to somebody. I'd love to give one. It sounds like you'd like to study Bible 00:33:26.23\00:33:31.27 and we stay the Bible together. And you prepare that. And then 00:33:31.27\00:33:37.08 over time, you can start growing because the Bible says that as newborn babes of should desired 00:33:37.08\00:33:41.88 the pure milk of the word that we will grow, thereby right? As we watch that happen as we're 00:33:41.88\00:33:49.59 partners with Christ Co labors with him, it will buoy our spirits. It will be an 00:33:49.59\00:33:53.26 encouragement to them. And by God's grace, they will come to the point to say, like, you 00:33:53.26\00:33:58.20 know what I need to I need to commit any dish, a Angeles or that pastor or maybe you in 00:33:58.20\00:34:03.41 the small group and that person studies going make the invitation, they can get their 00:34:03.41\00:34:07.81 life to Jesus. But you've walked through that process as Christ outlined in scripture. 00:34:07.81\00:34:12.85 There's nothing more exciting. Let's throw another one in there sometimes people think 00:34:12.85\00:34:17.72 of it as a roadblock to 2 things that people think of roadblocks and just some tends 00:34:17.72\00:34:22.42 to be this paradigm ideology and approaching evangelists. And some people say, well, if 00:34:22.42\00:34:27.13 I only talk about Jesus will meet on the common level. >> But 00:34:27.13\00:34:31.53 the moment I say auction a prophecy, I might lose them. Talk about that. >> Well, let's 00:34:31.53\00:34:36.34 talk about First of all. Jesus is a doctrine. So means teaching it means truth, right. And Jesus 00:34:36.34\00:34:47.58 said I am the way the truth and the life no man comes a father, but by me. So if we're 00:34:47.58\00:34:51.55 talking, it's like saying, I don't want to talk Bible. I just want to talk about Jesus. 00:34:51.55\00:34:55.69 Well, friends, these are they which testify of me? That's right. That's right. So 00:34:55.69\00:35:00.86 there's I don't know how it's crept into our church conversation, but we need to 00:35:00.86\00:35:05.17 user minds of some of these misunderstandings that you can somehow teach Jesus without 00:35:05.17\00:35:08.64 talking about, like I want to teach the living the living word without the written word. 00:35:08.64\00:35:13.44 And those 2 things aren't supposed to be separated the yeah. I think it came in with 00:35:13.44\00:35:17.51 his ideology because this just boom on the back the 20 or so years ago. But he would say we 00:35:17.51\00:35:21.85 don't teach toxins in our church. We just talk about Jesus and we nondenominational 00:35:21.85\00:35:25.79 whatever the top titles that are given to that. >> You know, it 00:35:25.79\00:35:29.26 almost played on the ideology. This is and we could talk about this an almost played on the 00:35:29.26\00:35:34.46 ideology that if you come here, quote, You don't have to give up anything. You'll find just the 00:35:34.46\00:35:38.40 way you are. You know, we love the way you are with him, but it lead the way you are sure 00:35:38.40\00:35:44.54 this is fear of change. And I think a lot of times people think the moment doctrines and 00:35:44.54\00:35:47.18 to a prophecy enters. I had to give up something and somehow this ideology you speak to 00:35:47.18\00:35:54.02 this. Why do people tend to think of there are any changes that my life has to make. It's 00:35:54.02\00:35:59.42 going to go downhill rather than a pill. I don't know where that's another thing I 00:35:59.42\00:36:05.76 know is come into like, man, I'd love to follow Jesus, but I want my life to be good. 00:36:05.76\00:36:10.63 >> what's better with Jesus? The other stuff as the bad stuff? Jesus is the good part, 00:36:10.63\00:36:15.27 right? Right. And so it's the same thing with doctors like Let's say we only preach Jesus 00:36:15.27\00:36:20.18 then. My next question is, well, what about Jesus? Well, what does Jesus teach about 00:36:20.18\00:36:24.58 this? What is Jesus say about prophecy? By the way, when Jesus preached, what did he 00:36:24.58\00:36:28.32 talk about? Very opens his mouth. talked about the time is at hand the scriptures to 00:36:28.32\00:36:33.76 fulfill. He talks about in prophetic Linger. Expect Desire Bay just page to 33. 00:36:33.76\00:36:37.96 Talks about the Ministry of Jesus and how he preached. All right. Thus, the gospel 00:36:37.96\00:36:44.37 message has given by the savior himself was based on the prophecies. She writes, 00:36:44.37\00:36:48.97 you look at all the New Testament authors, whether she's, of course, the word 00:36:48.97\00:36:53.14 with those who profit talked about Jesus, the Apostle Paul, you talk about PD talk about 00:36:53.14\00:36:55.94 John, the revelator prophecy is all part of this message right? And so what? Let's talk 00:36:55.94\00:37:03.25 for a minute about prophecy in Doctor. Okay. Prophecy. Let's start with that. taunt 00:37:03.25\00:37:07.62 prophecy instead of Well, first of all, it's the revelation of 00:37:07.62\00:37:14.03 Jesus Christ. So it reveals to us Jesus in a way that other things may not try a now. Why is 00:37:14.03\00:37:20.30 that? When we talk about prophecy, we talk about especially time prophecy. We 00:37:20.30\00:37:24.44 look at the great prophecies of Daniel revelation. We look at that mental image, you know, 00:37:24.44\00:37:27.41 from Babylon on down to end of time. And we think a seven-day having this woman familiar 00:37:27.41\00:37:32.78 with that imagery, we're just talk about Daniel. But when people have never had an 00:37:32.78\00:37:39.25 encounter, they've heard of Jesus in a cultural context, one, maybe even in a or to 00:37:39.25\00:37:45.03 contact only small-minded simple backwards on scientific and light. You go down the 00:37:45.03\00:37:49.00 list right? Right. But now all of a sudden. God has demonstrated himself as one 00:37:49.00\00:37:57.94 who can see something before it happens. Call it out and sit back and watch it unfold 00:37:57.94\00:38:02.74 and we think we're talking about metal and images and, you know, 00:38:02.74\00:38:08.12 being them some peace with it. People are realizing have never been exposed to Bible prophecy. 00:38:08.12\00:38:12.89 That you tell me the stuff is real. That there is a God who can say from the beginning, 00:38:12.89\00:38:20.30 what's going to happen in the end? I can see when they start to see that those images an 00:38:20.30\00:38:25.10 for unveiling before their eyes, it prophecies trustworthy, that 00:38:25.10\00:38:29.34 the signs of the times are exactly what I see on my Google news feet that this thing is 00:38:29.34\00:38:34.38 relevant. It's practical. And not only is it real, the dominoes start to then falls 00:38:34.38\00:38:38.85 like if there's a God in his word is true. Then I'm accountable. It. It also done 00:38:38.85\00:38:46.29 the you don't have to draw the lines of application. Holy Spirit is going to take that 00:38:46.29\00:38:50.53 convincing and turn it into convicting a life that I like that domino effect. Could it 00:38:50.53\00:38:56.13 that it's all done And we're thinking, oh, man, they're hearing about me to Persia and 00:38:56.13\00:39:00.44 Greece their past that. And they're hearing about there's a God who's alive, who's real, who 00:39:00.44\00:39:05.67 was then and will be and I'm going to be answered. like all 00:39:05.67\00:39:09.81 of a sudden. >> There's a whole lot going on inside of a person that we may with familiarity. 00:39:09.81\00:39:15.08 >> Not realize the power of but somebody is having an encounter with the living God 00:39:15.08\00:39:19.49 through Bible prophecy, powerful. Wonderfully said some city. smiling about it 00:39:19.49\00:39:25.59 because the fact of the matter is when you get into Bible prophecy, it automatically in 00:39:25.59\00:39:32.17 a short period of time eliminates the idea that this is 00:39:32.17\00:39:37.94 speculation. >> Absolute eliminates the idea that God does not exist because there's 00:39:37.94\00:39:41.61 no And when you look at Jesus, you can separate Jesus from doctor because Jesus didn't 00:39:41.61\00:39:47.98 separate Jesus from doctrine in Jesus didn't separate himself from prophecy. Well, he says and 00:39:47.98\00:39:54.22 they knew or should be teaching in not runs the Commandments of 00:39:54.22\00:39:57.56 men. You put the commands of God by your traditions. So heat, heat, heat heat. He says ear 00:39:57.56\00:40:03.23 that in. So Matthew, 24 look, 16 13 office. See? Yes. To that point. Let's talk about that 00:40:03.23\00:40:11.04 little because inside because people say, well, that's prophecy, but we talk about 00:40:11.04\00:40:13.04 doctrine. But if you notice one of the key things in prophecy when prophecy about 00:40:13.04\00:40:18.71 true thing cast down to the ground. Yes, right. And how babylon's fall. And now 00:40:18.71\00:40:22.58 there's truth in. There's a message that's going up. >> So 00:40:22.58\00:40:27.09 when we preach the distinctive understood by the 7th avenues, churches taught by scripture, 00:40:27.09\00:40:32.03 we're not doing something outside of prophecy, know, actually being fulfillment of 00:40:32.03\00:40:35.93 prophecy when they're seeing babble on fall right before their very eyes, the confusion 00:40:35.93\00:40:41.80 falls away and the truth like a laser beam is hitting into their mind is reaching down to their 00:40:41.80\00:40:44.51 very arrow in their bones right? That when we understand Jesus is alive and well, he's coming 00:40:44.51\00:40:51.55 back soon. And by the way, it's not going to be a secret. The 7 day by the way, is not 00:40:51.55\00:40:58.09 going to be a secret. Exactly. Like thing like use putting all these into your starting 00:40:58.09\00:41:02.36 to unravel some of the things you might have seen before and you're getting the truth as it 00:41:02.36\00:41:06.29 is in Jesus as as seen in fulfill prophecy, you can't take Jesus and prophecy in 00:41:06.29\00:41:14.84 doctrine and separate them is different things. They all go together and that's what the 00:41:14.84\00:41:17.44 Pats have. The word is written and when it's preached in that way, people have an encounter 00:41:17.44\00:41:21.24 with the living. God. That's right. That's it. That's relevant. Very relevant. And 00:41:21.24\00:41:26.08 by the way, going back to my initial questions about Facebook, Twitter and Sudan 00:41:26.08\00:41:32.29 snapped at all those social platforms. They lose relevance when. At the component, we all 00:41:32.29\00:41:38.16 live in a very real world where tomorrow might somebody might say on whatever news 00:41:38.16\00:41:42.56 network. What we predicted about the stock market yesterday was 00:41:42.56\00:41:50.77 crash today. What would happen in the world? If people were able to know. Prediction. With 00:41:50.77\00:41:58.51 the stock market is going to be 5 years from now. Descriptions of saying. That's less 00:41:58.51\00:42:05.89 relevant. The knowing where the world is going to be 5 years from That's so we're 00:42:05.89\00:42:12.59 looking at a not an unpredictable approach. Evangelism and I just want it 00:42:12.59\00:42:17.50 put this together as I've taken from you. Evangelism is not an unpredictable art. It 00:42:17.50\00:42:23.30 is the it is the gift of revealing to people what the Lord has already said. It's 00:42:23.30\00:42:28.28 going to happen. Yes. It's absolutely true. And when people see again, I'll come 00:42:28.28\00:42:33.55 back to that when they see that because the reason we always start with Daniel too, 00:42:33.55\00:42:36.82 but there's a reason we talk about the signs of the end because the answer to the 00:42:36.82\00:42:40.82 question what does the Bible say about filling the blank really doesn't matter if you 00:42:40.82\00:42:47.46 have an established faith in the Bible itself. All right. But when you start to Bible 00:42:47.46\00:42:52.23 prophecy is uniquely suited to address the lingering question, 00:42:52.23\00:42:57.41 how do I even know this thing is trustworthy? How do we know this is real at all? And once you've 00:42:57.41\00:43:01.71 established the trustworthiness of scripture from Bible 00:43:01.71\00:43:06.35 prophecy, but then you start to see that means that Jesus was real. That means his life was 00:43:06.35\00:43:11.49 real. His death was real. It had something to do with me. And in response, I need to like 00:43:11.49\00:43:16.22 all of those connective dot start to come together. Once you build on that framework of 00:43:16.22\00:43:21.16 this Bible is trustworthy and I've seen it for myself by prophecy revealed. That's 00:43:21.16\00:43:26.17 right. And it's not separating Matthew. 24 is not incidental. It's not just a byproduct 00:43:26.17\00:43:33.71 between 23 and 25 right. put it there for a reason. So we as John says. Jesus said, I've 00:43:33.71\00:43:39.05 told you these beforehand so that when it comes to pass, he will exact. I am he there it 00:43:39.05\00:43:43.85 is. These things happening. Leads to you believing that I am. He came in the word of 00:43:43.85\00:43:49.46 God, as you point out. Here's another question that came to us. How can a presenter keep 00:43:49.46\00:43:58.87 the members of his family engaged in evangelism? When they 00:43:58.87\00:44:05.94 have heard the presentations before and the children are at the age, they don't enjoy 00:44:05.94\00:44:08.91 traveling anymore. This seems to be the site on the travel expense of their many home 00:44:08.91\00:44:14.78 responsibilities to pull to spouses into different directions that also causes 00:44:14.78\00:44:19.45 tension is him fight. The enemy is trying to distract by bringing in controversy. This 00:44:19.45\00:44:23.63 seems like a big picture. Then evangelism. Yeah, there's a lot in UK-wide sure where we're 00:44:23.63\00:44:27.23 headed there with that. But it sounds like a church worker who might be engaged in active 00:44:27.23\00:44:31.93 ministry is being pulled in different directions, interaction, that kind of thing. 00:44:31.93\00:44:35.80 But here's the question that I think is very relevant, even though they addressed to me. But 00:44:35.80\00:44:38.24 I want to broaden it to use pastor. John, you mentioned how God works in you and on you and 00:44:38.24\00:44:44.51 through you. How do you know if it is God or yourself? They got as leading you and God is 00:44:44.51\00:44:52.05 working in you? Kuzma on you that I mentioned he worked on me. He works in me. Then he 00:44:52.05\00:45:00.40 walks through me. Okay, as pastor, how do we know that that's happening? obviously, 00:45:00.40\00:45:04.03 if the Lord is doing something, it needs to match up with what 00:45:04.03\00:45:09.04 he's already revealed in his word, try, OK? So if if there's something going in your life, 00:45:09.04\00:45:13.51 that's leading you in a direction. But it's in variance with his word. You can know that 00:45:13.51\00:45:16.58 that is not faith. That is presumption. That's right. That you're leading in the 00:45:16.58\00:45:20.55 Lord. Okay. So clearly the word of God is given to us for just such a thing that we 00:45:20.55\00:45:25.89 won't be tossed back and forth by every when the doctor that comes along right? The first 00:45:25.89\00:45:31.73 thing I ever say to anyone if they're trying to ascertain the will of God in the leading 00:45:31.73\00:45:35.70 of God is compare it to scripture, right? Does anything 00:45:35.70\00:45:39.90 in your plan that you're feeling compelled or lead to do violate the scriptures? Is it out of 00:45:39.90\00:45:44.91 harming with guys revealed word there. Okay. Furthermore. Will it help the cause of God 00:45:44.91\00:45:51.11 with what I'm doing or is it? I'm just for my own benefit. And 00:45:51.11\00:45:56.58 to be clear, not everything. You know, I don't know where we get this idea that the most 00:45:56.58\00:46:01.19 miserable thing must be the thing God wants me to whatever the lowest paying job isn't the 00:46:01.19\00:46:07.50 worst geography or whatever. I don't think that's the case either. So there's nothing wrong 00:46:07.50\00:46:10.47 with evaluating OK, if this is not out of harmony with God's word. It can be a benefit to 00:46:10.47\00:46:16.71 my family. Those things are not necessarily, you know, at odds. In fact, I believe that 00:46:16.71\00:46:21.78 more times than not because got his promise to you live. How about a life and have it 00:46:21.78\00:46:25.65 more abundantly that he wants what's in our best interest for us. So we shouldn't always 00:46:25.65\00:46:30.62 be second guessing. The seams 2 nights. I better not take it. is the first of all. Does 00:46:30.62\00:46:33.96 it comport with the word of God? If there's no contradiction with 00:46:33.96\00:46:38.66 the word of God and what you're feeling led to believe, OK, the night stay put for. But if it's 00:46:38.66\00:46:42.50 a call to ministry or something, I wouldn't say sell the farm and disco show up to the 00:46:42.50\00:46:46.67 conference office door like the Lord has led here. I am. That's the system. talk about 00:46:46.67\00:46:50.31 a self set man right? You want to do is put into practice kind of like the other thing 00:46:50.31\00:46:54.24 is just start saying, well, let me let me start giving some Bible studies. We start 00:46:54.24\00:46:58.81 doing some work with the church a little bit more. Maybe preaching sermons, maybe 00:46:58.81\00:47:02.32 take some more responsibilities in the in the local sphere, 00:47:02.32\00:47:05.85 which I mean right now and just start to see and build some evidence of the lords leading is 00:47:05.85\00:47:11.33 is he going to sift through those and start to leave me in a certain way? is probably a lot 00:47:11.33\00:47:14.30 there when he calls me. And the other thing I want to bring out 00:47:14.30\00:47:18.33 now that because you've actively involved yourself one who isn't often person ministry says have 00:47:18.33\00:47:24.01 a school as well as evangelism. Not only in the Michigan Conference, but talk about 00:47:24.01\00:47:28.48 growth had been a stout org and then days evangelism frequently 00:47:28.48\00:47:32.41 asked questions. Video came into the kind of she had some of these that are available. I want 00:47:32.41\00:47:38.25 to direct you our viewers several websites. Okay. At least a couple. First of all, the 00:47:38.25\00:47:43.26 general conference at a school in person, Ministry's Department 00:47:43.26\00:47:46.53 has a website called Grow Dot Adventist Dot org, OK, and there you're going to talk about what 00:47:46.53\00:47:51.80 we call the growth cycle of evangelism all the way from preparing the soil of heart to 00:47:51.80\00:47:57.61 sowing the seed to cultivating to harvesting and by God's grace, preserving the crop so 00:47:57.61\00:48:01.28 that they in turn will become disciple makers in their own 00:48:01.28\00:48:03.91 right. So >> if you go to grow, dot, Adventists, dot org and you can see the picture on the 00:48:03.91\00:48:09.22 screen there is looking at that cycle of evangelism and all the different pieces in 00:48:09.22\00:48:12.92 phases of it and you'll find inspiration and equipping training resources, tools for 00:48:12.92\00:48:19.76 the different phases of the work there says a great resource from 00:48:19.76\00:48:24.10 the General Conference that was going person minister's Department grow, dot, admin 00:48:24.10\00:48:27.87 That's number one. Okay. Now. Local 7 school person, Mister Department of Michigan, 00:48:27.87\00:48:35.78 partnered with the General Conference to produce a video series called Evangelism F a Q 00:48:35.78\00:48:40.55 which of fake. You means frequently asked questions. Okay Jim Howard, his brother Pastor 00:48:40.55\00:48:44.99 Mark Howerton myself a series of presentations. I think there's 00:48:44.99\00:48:52.09 25, 6, 7 of them, something like that over 2 dozen different frequently asked questions like 00:48:52.09\00:48:56.43 some of the ones we've had on tonight. What if witnessing is my spiritual gift or isn't that 00:48:56.43\00:49:02.14 the pastor's job or doesn't cost too much money are we just did evangelism? Are we to 00:49:02.14\00:49:04.81 focus you name it. All of those are addressed and in a simple 5 minute or less video 00:49:04.81\00:49:12.91 you can show you can learn for yourself or share them with your friends or even use them 00:49:12.91\00:49:18.82 in your local church contacts, especially as you're starting to stir up love and good 00:49:18.82\00:49:22.22 works. You could have a training series so you can show them and 00:49:22.22\00:49:26.63 you were sub service a part of Saturday school or a special event outside of church service. 00:49:26.63\00:49:32.17 But those resources were put together, not only the videos, by the way, but also 00:49:32.17\00:49:36.04 accompanying study guides that go with them so that you can do training in your own church 00:49:36.04\00:49:40.11 to address those common frequently asked questions. You can find that series. some 00:49:40.11\00:49:44.98 point. It's going to be on the grow site, too. But right now you can find it at Michigan ES 00:49:44.98\00:49:49.82 S PM Dot org or says page of Michigan S S P ES S PM DOT org which stands for Michigan all 00:49:49.82\00:49:57.59 spelled out and then SS for 07:00PM for PERSON MINISTRIES, Michigan S S PM DOT org and on 00:49:57.59\00:50:06.20 the resources page, you'll find that series frequently asked questions, Evangelism F 00:50:06.20\00:50:12.11 a Q and that's the video as the videos and the company study guides to go with them. 00:50:12.11\00:50:16.18 Now to bring up that graphic one more time and grow your church or this is a beautiful 00:50:16.18\00:50:18.25 graphic. I was just a out the benefit of that. The U.S. if you notice the 5 areas, 00:50:18.25\00:50:23.82 they're just touch on those 5 areas. Very quickly because I love the growth. It's put it 00:50:23.82\00:50:28.39 together in a cycle. Yes, and that's that that core concept of evangelism being a full 00:50:28.39\00:50:32.79 cycle. We want to get that head on right. So that blue icon on top there. That's the 00:50:32.79\00:50:37.67 preparing the soil. And if you look on the side of prepare tab there, yeah. If you were 00:50:37.67\00:50:42.07 to click on that, it will have a drop-down menu and it will sail little blurb about what 00:50:42.07\00:50:46.27 that means to prepare and the resources that you can use to, you know, go through that 00:50:46.27\00:50:49.51 ministry in your own spear of influence personally and your local church and the same 00:50:49.51\00:50:54.88 thing for sowing the see the little brown icon there or the land Green, one for plant for 00:50:54.88\00:50:58.49 cultivating the crop with Bible study. How do you start a Bible study ministry? What 00:50:58.49\00:51:03.29 resources you need, what training is available and so every phase of the the next 00:51:03.29\00:51:08.56 one being the harvest pays the yellow. Their public evangelism is essential to the 00:51:08.56\00:51:13.34 work of evangelism. Obviously. And then finally, disciple ship training. You know, 00:51:13.34\00:51:17.97 preserving preserving the crop because it think about the farmer again, that even the 00:51:17.97\00:51:23.68 backyard gardener, if you have a great crop of tomatoes and he's I look at them. They grew 00:51:23.68\00:51:30.19 a man. Well, they're going to rot on the vine, right? You got to take him in. What 00:51:30.19\00:51:33.09 you're looking for is you want seed for the next and canning for food for yourself. The 00:51:33.09\00:51:37.29 Bible talks about how the the so we'll have seeds for sowing and bred for eating right. And 00:51:37.29\00:51:44.73 I'm so glad it I actually have the website in front of me and I'm Ted touching on the 00:51:44.73\00:51:47.64 different By the way, that picture that you also see in the 00:51:47.64\00:51:51.34 cycle. >> Of the 5 pictures in the grow your church circle. Each one of those are active 00:51:51.34\00:51:56.48 leaks 2. Yes, they're very faces beautifully put together past are coming to Beijing as we 00:51:56.48\00:52:01.18 have 5 minutes so. Let's tell that. Pulled us back to the summary is evangelism still 00:52:01.18\00:52:08.32 relevant today? 100% more than ever before. A K a we're living 00:52:08.32\00:52:13.33 in the very tail toenails of time. You know, the very the the the culminating event of the 00:52:13.33\00:52:17.53 world are a bit. >> Being more and more clearly evidence all 00:52:17.53\00:52:23.77 the time. And if there was ever a time to preach our message, it's right now, you know, used 00:52:23.77\00:52:27.41 to I talked about this earlier, but it used to be even in my preaching talk the signs of 00:52:27.41\00:52:35.02 the times. You have to recommend it. When was the last time there 00:52:35.02\00:52:37.39 is a big you know this or a World War, friends that day is going easier than ever before to 00:52:37.39\00:52:44.43 preach the prophecies and say just open your eyes but look around. In fact, many of the 00:52:44.43\00:52:48.73 people there because they're seeing the sign, right? And they're looking for answers 00:52:48.73\00:52:51.37 right? So people are coming. There is a deep unsettling in people souls as they have, 00:52:51.37\00:52:59.61 whether it's economic or military medical, whatever the issues are, societal issues 00:52:59.61\00:53:04.85 writ large are driving. People think something isn't right in the world. And this is the 00:53:04.85\00:53:10.45 prime time to strike. When the iron is hot. They're already thinking along those lines. We 00:53:10.45\00:53:13.92 might as well if they're asking the questions, we might as well get answers from God's 00:53:13.92\00:53:17.39 word, right? We don't have to worry about what's next when the Bible reveals what's name 00:53:17.39\00:53:22.60 in in the specificity of it is just the evidence that the Bible is the inspired book. 00:53:22.60\00:53:26.27 >> Linked to a living what about those who But the second thing is likely with audience. 00:53:26.27\00:53:32.67 First of all, the evangelism still relevant. Second thing can everybody Can everybody 00:53:32.67\00:53:39.21 involved? Everybody needs to get involved. need everybody. It's not just OK, but it's 00:53:39.21\00:53:44.12 expected. It's a it's a dire need. We need more frontline workers. You know, and you 00:53:44.12\00:53:48.92 know, it talks about in the reference in First Corinthians chapter 12 to the body of 00:53:48.92\00:53:54.46 Christ and illustrations. Always a hand or foot or the eye. Those 00:53:54.46\00:53:56.97 are visible, prominent pieces, but, you a couple years ago, I had a spontaneous pneumothorax, 00:53:56.97\00:54:03.07 which is the collapsing along just on its own. And I didn't ever think about my long too 00:54:03.07\00:54:08.34 much until one working. And was like, man, I need this thing to work real quick and 00:54:08.34\00:54:13.25 they put it, you faith but a line right through my rib cage and expanding my long back on 00:54:13.25\00:54:17.02 boy hurt. But, you know, in First Corinthians 12, 22 it talks about how those pieces 00:54:17.02\00:54:24.69 of the body, those parts that we think are weaker are actually 00:54:24.69\00:54:31.33 vital. They're the church has plenty of evangelist and front-line workers and paid 00:54:31.33\00:54:35.40 employees. And if God is calling the full-time ministry, praise the Lord, I don't want to 00:54:35.40\00:54:38.57 diminish that at all. But we have to disabuse our mind of the idea that if I'm not a hand foot 00:54:38.57\00:54:45.35 or we're fine, not an evangelist, a minister or teacher, then I'm not do friends 00:54:45.35\00:54:51.89 everyone. And that he sought from scripture. The purpose of having those positions in the 00:54:51.89\00:54:54.52 church is to help all of us do our work. That is an expectation 00:54:54.52\00:55:00.70 and a privilege that every one of us has to be Co labors with Christ and giving this message 00:55:00.70\00:55:04.33 to the world. So that their question to what wrap it up should evangelism be public, a 00:55:04.33\00:55:09.37 personal or public and personal. Yes, the question is should eventually be personal 00:55:09.37\00:55:14.61 or public. And answer is, yes, it should be every all points in between. We should have 00:55:14.61\00:55:20.08 individual labors out there winning souls, talking their friends, building those 00:55:20.08\00:55:23.42 relationships, offering the Bible studies inviting the church means and we need good 00:55:23.42\00:55:28.09 public evangelists and good quality advertisements in good meetings that spend good money 00:55:28.09\00:55:30.56 on these things. So that all of it when a sister wife talked about when both are 00:55:30.56\00:55:35.80 more thorough work may be wrought. Okay. And what I don't think I asked during the 00:55:35.80\00:55:39.20 night, but as a possible to get a Bible study. If you don't ask someone to study the 00:55:39.20\00:55:45.67 Bible, I'm sure the Lord can do something right by but not often that you see him lift 00:55:45.67\00:55:51.58 the Philip in the Ethiopian thing. Go take over that chariot 00:55:51.58\00:55:56.02 right? But great miracle is just ask, just start talking to people start stirring the pot of 00:55:56.02\00:56:01.66 interest. There and the Lord will give opportunity if you ask him, say Lord, I'm willing to 00:56:01.66\00:56:08.06 go. I don't think he's going to disappoint on the other end by giving you plenty of 00:56:08.06\00:56:10.70 opportunity. And if you ask, people will be surprised. House receptive. They are to 00:56:10.70\00:56:16.77 present truth. Well, I want to let our audience and he was known. Thank you, Pastor 00:56:16.77\00:56:19.61 Camera coming tonight and bless you. In the Michigan Conference, 00:56:19.61\00:56:24.08 you guys are doing a tremendous work working along not only with the union and vandalism in 00:56:24.08\00:56:28.15 general, but the church at margin. Thank you for the work and your dedication to it. And 00:56:28.15\00:56:34.39 and evangelism friends is alive and well and God is calling on you.
