00:10:38.73\00:10:40.84 Well, we are a media ministry. 00:10:40.87\00:10:42.44 We have a passion for the youth of our church. 00:10:42.47\00:10:44.97 And I think, you know, I had a real big passion 00:10:45.01\00:10:48.14 for movies and television. 00:10:48.18\00:10:49.91 As a kid, I didn't grow up really watching a lot of it. 00:10:49.94\00:10:53.01 But in college I took some film studies classes 00:10:53.05\00:10:56.12 and it got bit by the bug, as they say, 00:10:56.15\00:10:58.79 ended up in Hollywood for about 10 years 00:10:58.82\00:11:01.79 and growing up in the Adventist faith. 00:11:01.82\00:11:04.23 I grew up in a very conservative home. 00:11:04.26\00:11:06.46 My parents were smart enough to know that, 00:11:06.49\00:11:10.00 you know, there's something wrong 00:11:10.03\00:11:11.37 with the movies and television, 00:11:11.40\00:11:12.73 but they couldn't quite put their finger on it. 00:11:12.77\00:11:14.10 It was just kind of not encouraged in our home. 00:11:14.14\00:11:16.64 And, of course, 00:11:16.67\00:11:18.01 when you discourage your kid from something, 00:11:18.04\00:11:19.37 they end up going and doing that for a living, right? 00:11:19.41\00:11:21.91 So I ended up in Los Angeles 00:11:21.94\00:11:23.45 and it's really something that, that filled my life. 00:11:23.48\00:11:27.58 And I just had no time for God. 00:11:27.62\00:11:29.38 It led me away. 00:11:29.42\00:11:30.75 I got caught up in the things of the world 00:11:30.79\00:11:32.62 and chasing the things 00:11:32.65\00:11:34.52 that everyone thinks is going to make them happy, 00:11:34.56\00:11:36.42 fame and fortune and all those things. 00:11:36.46\00:11:38.93 And God got a hold of my heart after that and won me back. 00:11:38.96\00:11:42.26 And when He won me back, 00:11:42.30\00:11:43.97 I think my passion was really to reach people 00:11:44.00\00:11:47.44 at the point that I walked away. 00:11:47.47\00:11:49.57 So that's why we kind of stuck with the younger generation 00:11:49.60\00:11:52.41 and, you know, video games, movies, music, 00:11:52.44\00:11:55.78 those kind of topics. 00:11:55.81\00:11:57.15 That's what they're into, so. 00:11:57.18\00:11:58.51 Wow, that's awesome man. 00:11:58.55\00:11:59.88 It's been, like I said, a blessing to me. 00:11:59.91\00:12:02.48 I was actually bragging a little bit behind scenes 00:12:02.52\00:12:05.42 with Keith here. 00:12:05.45\00:12:07.09 I was like, yeah, I think I have just about all the DVDs 00:12:07.12\00:12:09.22 you guys have made. 00:12:09.26\00:12:10.59 Here I am, I'm naming off like four or five 00:12:10.63\00:12:12.09 and he's like, no, I was like, 00:12:12.13\00:12:13.46 and he started naming off a bunch more. 00:12:13.50\00:12:15.00 We're going to talk about those in just a moment. 00:12:15.03\00:12:17.53 But I... 00:12:17.57\00:12:18.90 So, Scottie, while we're at it, 00:12:18.93\00:12:20.27 what is it that you do for a Little Light 00:12:20.30\00:12:21.64 because I understand you're kind of, you started it, 00:12:21.67\00:12:23.51 but what is it specifically 00:12:23.54\00:12:24.87 that you do within the ministry at Little Light? 00:12:24.91\00:12:26.51 Well, I kind of was one of the three, 00:12:26.54\00:12:29.41 my brother and childhood best friend 00:12:29.44\00:12:31.58 actually started it together 00:12:31.61\00:12:32.95 and I like to consider myself, 00:12:32.98\00:12:35.68 well anyone that works in ministry has 10 hats, right? 00:12:35.72\00:12:39.25 So we do a bit of everything, 00:12:39.29\00:12:42.12 I edit, I shoot, 00:12:42.16\00:12:44.46 do a little bit of administration, 00:12:44.49\00:12:46.59 little jokes throw stuff around the office. 00:12:46.63\00:12:49.80 But yeah, we all kind of just jump in. 00:12:49.83\00:12:51.77 I like a collective sort of mentality. 00:12:51.80\00:12:55.07 I think you get a better product 00:12:55.10\00:12:57.34 when everybody gets to throw their ideas in the hat. 00:12:57.37\00:12:59.71 And so that's kind of how we operate actually. 00:12:59.74\00:13:02.48 We bounce ideas off of each other. 00:13:02.51\00:13:04.05 We feed off of each other. 00:13:04.08\00:13:05.85 So that's pretty much what we do. 00:13:05.88\00:13:07.72 That's awesome. Praise the Lord. 00:13:07.75\00:13:09.08 Now to your left here again, Kendi Callender, 00:13:09.12\00:13:11.29 and I understand you're kind of the new person. 00:13:11.32\00:13:14.02 Are you the newest person? 00:13:14.06\00:13:15.39 I know that you've... 00:13:15.42\00:13:16.76 Have you been with them a while 00:13:16.79\00:13:18.13 or are you the newest person in the club? 00:13:18.16\00:13:19.49 Yes. 00:13:19.53\00:13:20.86 No, I'm not the newest, 00:13:20.90\00:13:22.23 I mean, God has definitely blessed a ministry for us 00:13:22.26\00:13:23.60 to grow over the years, 00:13:23.63\00:13:24.97 but I've been a part of it 00:13:25.00\00:13:26.33 for about two and a half years now. 00:13:26.37\00:13:27.70 Wow okay. 00:13:27.74\00:13:29.07 So what is it that you do for Little Light Studios? 00:13:29.10\00:13:30.44 Yeah, back to what Scotty was saying 00:13:30.47\00:13:31.81 about the multiple hats. 00:13:31.84\00:13:33.17 I think I've grown in the past two and a half years 00:13:33.21\00:13:34.54 more than any other time in my life, 00:13:34.58\00:13:35.91 just because of how much I've been exposed to 00:13:35.94\00:13:38.05 in a good way though, of course. 00:13:38.08\00:13:39.71 I think that's the benefit of working in a small ministry. 00:13:39.75\00:13:42.88 I get to interact with the different departments, 00:13:42.92\00:13:45.72 probably not in the same way 00:13:45.75\00:13:47.19 that I would in like a massive corporate operation, 00:13:47.22\00:13:50.79 but what is it that I do? 00:13:50.83\00:13:52.16 Well, I got brought on the team as a video editor. 00:13:52.19\00:13:55.93 But when I walked through the door, 00:13:55.96\00:13:57.30 they put me in front of the camera 00:13:57.33\00:13:58.67 instead of behind it. 00:13:58.70\00:14:00.04 So I do some hosting, 00:14:00.07\00:14:01.70 I go back and forth with people on social media, 00:14:01.74\00:14:05.71 you know, talk to donors and just interact. 00:14:05.74\00:14:08.18 I am loving, it. Amen. 00:14:08.21\00:14:09.54 Praise the Lord. 00:14:09.58\00:14:10.91 Keith? 00:14:10.95\00:14:12.28 Yes, sir. 00:14:12.31\00:14:13.65 So what do you do with Little Light Studios? 00:14:13.68\00:14:15.02 What do I do? I'm all over the place. 00:14:15.05\00:14:17.35 I mean, like they said, 00:14:17.39\00:14:18.72 everybody wears a bunch of different hats, 00:14:18.75\00:14:20.86 so I guess sometimes I see myself 00:14:20.89\00:14:22.69 as kind of tying up loose ends here and there and everywhere. 00:14:22.72\00:14:26.19 So a little bit of everything editing, shooting, 00:14:26.23\00:14:28.86 you know, developing programs, all that stuff. 00:14:28.90\00:14:31.40 Okay. 00:14:31.43\00:14:32.77 So I'm going to kind of just toss this out there 00:14:32.80\00:14:34.14 for you guys to just talk a little bit 00:14:34.17\00:14:35.77 on as you feel free to do so, 00:14:35.80\00:14:37.24 but I know that you guys have done. 00:14:37.27\00:14:39.61 I mean, you've been in the business now for a while 00:14:39.64\00:14:42.61 and you've got all of these incredible projects out. 00:14:42.64\00:14:44.91 I've seen I guess probably a third or half 00:14:44.95\00:14:48.02 of what it is you guys have put out there 00:14:48.05\00:14:49.62 and they've been such a tremendous blessing to me. 00:14:49.65\00:14:51.62 Let's talk about some of the previous projects 00:14:51.65\00:14:53.46 you guys have done and, 00:14:53.49\00:14:55.02 you know, how that has affected the ministry. 00:14:55.06\00:14:57.16 What kind of results you've seen 00:14:57.19\00:14:58.99 through those projects over the years? 00:14:59.03\00:15:00.83 So, how we kind of got involved in even talking about 00:15:00.86\00:15:04.03 like the Hollywood subject was 00:15:04.07\00:15:06.30 when I came out of Hollywood 00:15:06.33\00:15:07.67 and God really ruptured my heart. 00:15:07.70\00:15:10.61 I was really praying, God, what do you want me to do? 00:15:10.64\00:15:12.91 I don't know what to do, how to serve You. 00:15:12.94\00:15:16.31 And I said, I'll do anything that you want. 00:15:16.34\00:15:19.05 And all of a sudden I got a phone call 00:15:19.08\00:15:20.58 from an old youth pastor and he said, 00:15:20.62\00:15:22.08 "Hey, why don't you come and, you know, 00:15:22.12\00:15:23.92 talk at a youth rally 00:15:23.95\00:15:25.29 about your experience in Hollywood, 00:15:25.32\00:15:26.65 because all these kids know, you guys went to Hollywood 00:15:26.69\00:15:28.62 and worked on all these TV shows and movies. 00:15:28.66\00:15:31.79 So come talk to them and, you know, about the subject." 00:15:31.83\00:15:35.30 And as I started really kind of, 00:15:35.33\00:15:38.07 you know, diving into, what am I going to say? 00:15:38.10\00:15:40.94 How do you even approach the subject? 00:15:40.97\00:15:42.30 What are you going to do? 00:15:42.34\00:15:43.67 Show a movie and you know, 00:15:43.71\00:15:45.04 after two hours somehow make a point about God, 00:15:45.07\00:15:47.04 I was very into movies. 00:15:47.08\00:15:49.38 But I prayed a very special prayer. 00:15:49.41\00:15:50.95 I said, "God, I don't have any words, 00:15:50.98\00:15:53.11 but you do. 00:15:53.15\00:15:54.48 What do You want me to say?" 00:15:54.52\00:15:56.05 And I was a big collector of movies. 00:15:56.08\00:15:57.65 I collected tons of them. 00:15:57.69\00:15:59.02 And I put this one movie in from, 00:15:59.05\00:16:00.96 from fight club. 00:16:00.99\00:16:02.56 It was a movie out in the early 2000s. 00:16:02.59\00:16:04.79 A lot of guys probably saw this movie, right? 00:16:04.83\00:16:07.60 And I was just putting it in to get some inspiration. 00:16:07.63\00:16:11.30 And in the middle of the movie, 00:16:11.33\00:16:12.67 there was a scene between the two main actors 00:16:12.70\00:16:14.94 and one of the main actors slaps the other actor. 00:16:14.97\00:16:16.84 And he says, 00:16:16.87\00:16:18.21 "You have to consider the possibility 00:16:18.24\00:16:19.57 that God doesn't like you, in fact, God hates you." 00:16:19.61\00:16:21.71 He says, 00:16:21.74\00:16:23.08 "We don't need God, we don't need redemption. 00:16:23.11\00:16:24.45 We don't need salvation. 00:16:24.48\00:16:25.81 We are the children of the other side. 00:16:25.85\00:16:27.28 And I put it on pause and I just went, 00:16:27.32\00:16:29.88 I've seen this movie 20 times. 00:16:29.92\00:16:31.85 Like I grew up a Christian, 00:16:31.89\00:16:33.82 I know that there's a war 00:16:33.86\00:16:35.72 going on between Christ and Satan. 00:16:35.76\00:16:37.69 How was it possible that I could watch a movie 00:16:37.73\00:16:40.66 for two hours 00:16:40.70\00:16:42.16 and hear a message like that and not remember it? 00:16:42.20\00:16:45.07 And so, the first thing that I decided to do 00:16:45.10\00:16:48.87 when we were putting a project together is I said, 00:16:48.90\00:16:51.71 "I want to know how does the brain work?" 00:16:51.74\00:16:53.98 Like how is this possible that you can watch something, 00:16:54.01\00:16:56.68 but not remember it. 00:16:56.71\00:16:58.05 And that led us off into looking 00:16:58.08\00:16:59.51 into the advertising industry 00:16:59.55\00:17:01.18 and, you know, they use all these tricks 00:17:01.22\00:17:03.18 to sell you products. 00:17:03.22\00:17:04.85 So we traveled around the US 00:17:04.89\00:17:06.45 and we interviewed 00:17:06.49\00:17:07.82 neurologists, scientists, doctors, 00:17:07.86\00:17:09.62 anyone that would talk to us about the studies 00:17:09.66\00:17:12.09 that have been done on the actual brain 00:17:12.13\00:17:14.00 and what happens when you watch. 00:17:14.03\00:17:16.10 And so when we put it together 00:17:16.13\00:17:18.03 and started, you know, 00:17:18.07\00:17:19.60 passing that around 00:17:19.63\00:17:21.47 people would, you know, say, 00:17:21.50\00:17:22.84 "Oh, come to our church and, you know, 00:17:22.87\00:17:24.21 give this presentation or give this talk here." 00:17:24.24\00:17:26.31 And then it spanned off into different topics 00:17:26.34\00:17:29.11 like superheroes and, you know, cartoons. 00:17:29.14\00:17:32.05 And those are some of the early projects 00:17:32.08\00:17:34.02 that we worked on. 00:17:34.05\00:17:35.38 That's amazing. 00:17:35.42\00:17:36.75 You know, this actually reminds me at this moment 00:17:36.79\00:17:38.39 as we're kind of diving into this topic here, 00:17:38.42\00:17:41.42 you may be home right now 00:17:41.46\00:17:42.96 and may have questions for these guys 00:17:42.99\00:17:44.59 pertaining to their ministry, 00:17:44.63\00:17:46.09 pertaining to Little Light Studios, 00:17:46.13\00:17:47.63 or maybe just Hollywood in general, movies, media. 00:17:47.66\00:17:51.33 If you have a question 00:17:51.37\00:17:52.70 and you would like them 00:17:52.73\00:17:54.07 to answer these questions tonight, 00:17:54.10\00:17:55.67 there is a way you can do that. 00:17:55.70\00:17:57.04 And we want to show you right now. 00:17:57.07\00:17:58.41 There's two different ways you can send in your question. 00:17:58.44\00:18:00.68 The first is by text. 00:18:00.71\00:18:02.04 Okay, so if you want to text in your question, 00:18:02.08\00:18:04.41 you want to text that number. 00:18:04.45\00:18:05.78 It's right there on the screen. 00:18:05.81\00:18:07.15 It's (618) 228-3975. 00:18:07.18\00:18:11.09 Again, (618) 228-3975. 00:18:11.12\00:18:15.42 Text that question in 00:18:15.46\00:18:16.79 and we'll get to those questions 00:18:16.83\00:18:18.16 as soon as possible. 00:18:18.19\00:18:19.53 Or you may want to email your question in. 00:18:19.56\00:18:21.53 You can do that. There it is on the screen. 00:18:21.56\00:18:23.16 It's live@3abn.tv. 00:18:23.20\00:18:26.23 Again, that's live@3abn.tv. 00:18:26.27\00:18:29.90 So send in those questions, 00:18:29.94\00:18:31.44 I'm anxious to see the questions 00:18:31.47\00:18:33.01 so that I have an opportunity to also be knowledgeable 00:18:33.04\00:18:35.81 and to learn tonight as well. 00:18:35.84\00:18:37.65 So that being said, you know, 00:18:37.68\00:18:39.21 I, I know early on, 00:18:39.25\00:18:41.28 I think, I guess your Battlefield Hollywood 00:18:41.32\00:18:43.25 was kind of the, that collection of DVDs, 00:18:43.28\00:18:47.12 I guess it was because I went on your website today 00:18:47.16\00:18:49.26 and I was looking it. 00:18:49.29\00:18:50.63 You guys have so much now. 00:18:50.66\00:18:51.99 So tell us a little bit about Battlefield Hollywood, 00:18:52.03\00:18:54.36 and I'm not going to necessarily go through 00:18:54.40\00:18:55.93 each and every one of your DVDs, 00:18:55.96\00:18:57.47 unless you just want to, that'd be awesome. 00:18:57.50\00:18:59.00 But Battlefield Hollywood, 00:18:59.03\00:19:00.54 I know that was kind of the start, 00:19:00.57\00:19:01.90 I guess, of the work that you guys began. 00:19:01.94\00:19:04.24 And you talked a little bit about how that got started. 00:19:04.27\00:19:06.51 So what was some of your experiences 00:19:06.54\00:19:08.44 in the beginning 00:19:08.48\00:19:09.81 when you were starting that up? 00:19:09.84\00:19:11.18 What was some of the feedback that you got and what, 00:19:11.21\00:19:12.95 how did that take off? 00:19:12.98\00:19:14.32 You know, the first presentation 00:19:14.35\00:19:15.75 that we ever gave on this subject, 00:19:15.78\00:19:18.05 I think the youth pastor that invited us 00:19:18.09\00:19:20.36 to actually give the talks was really hoping that 00:19:20.39\00:19:23.83 we were going to show up and say something positive 00:19:23.86\00:19:26.73 about Hollywood. 00:19:26.76\00:19:28.10 And to be honest, 00:19:28.13\00:19:29.46 that's what I would have done 00:19:29.50\00:19:30.83 because that was what I was into. 00:19:30.87\00:19:32.70 But when I prayed that prayer, 00:19:32.73\00:19:34.07 it was like, God pulled the wool off of my eyes 00:19:34.10\00:19:36.50 and revealed to me, 00:19:36.54\00:19:38.34 there's a very real war all around us. 00:19:38.37\00:19:41.84 And you know, this war is for our minds. 00:19:41.88\00:19:45.95 And so that's why we kind of titled it 00:19:45.98\00:19:47.45 Battlefield Hollywood, 00:19:47.48\00:19:48.82 because we felt like there's a battleground here. 00:19:48.85\00:19:51.05 There's lots of battlegrounds going on. 00:19:51.09\00:19:52.82 You know, that may not be your battleground specifically, 00:19:52.85\00:19:55.59 but there is a major influence 00:19:55.62\00:19:57.89 that Hollywood has over people. 00:19:57.93\00:19:59.46 So we kind of wanted to bring the spiritual warfare 00:19:59.49\00:20:02.16 to people's minds, 00:20:02.20\00:20:03.53 open up their idea that, 00:20:03.57\00:20:05.07 hey, look, if this and this movie 00:20:05.10\00:20:07.14 is attacking God in this way, 00:20:07.17\00:20:09.14 is it possible that 00:20:09.17\00:20:10.51 there really is truth behind the war 00:20:10.54\00:20:12.57 between God and Satan 00:20:12.61\00:20:14.14 and look at what the Bible says, you know? 00:20:14.18\00:20:15.71 And it's like often when you analyze 00:20:15.74\00:20:17.85 a Hollywood major movie 00:20:17.88\00:20:19.65 through the lens of the Bible, 00:20:19.68\00:20:21.02 it's usually saying something opposite. 00:20:21.05\00:20:23.35 So that's what it was, 00:20:23.39\00:20:24.72 was pointing out a lot of those examples. 00:20:24.75\00:20:26.59 And then really putting Bible texts up there that says, 00:20:26.62\00:20:29.52 look, if the Bible says this 00:20:29.56\00:20:31.59 and this movie teaches you that, 00:20:31.63\00:20:33.53 how do you rectify that? 00:20:33.56\00:20:35.33 And most people don't watch a movie 00:20:35.36\00:20:37.60 and open up their Bible. 00:20:37.63\00:20:39.27 I mean, you just don't do that. 00:20:39.30\00:20:41.04 So it was kind of a shocker, I think to the audience. 00:20:41.07\00:20:44.01 In fact, we weren't preachers, none of us, 00:20:44.04\00:20:46.21 none of us were had any experience, 00:20:46.24\00:20:48.21 we were up there. 00:20:48.24\00:20:49.58 I think our first presentation went three and a half hours. 00:20:49.61\00:20:53.28 They sat through it though. 00:20:53.31\00:20:54.65 They watched the whole thing 00:20:54.68\00:20:56.12 and after that, I mean, 00:20:56.15\00:20:57.79 it was never our intent to give it twice. 00:20:57.82\00:21:00.02 It was a one-time thing. 00:21:00.06\00:21:01.56 I actually worked in Hollywood, 00:21:01.59\00:21:03.12 worked in television. 00:21:03.16\00:21:04.49 So I would work on the movie sets 00:21:04.53\00:21:06.39 during the week 00:21:06.43\00:21:07.76 and I would travel around 00:21:07.80\00:21:09.13 and speak in the churches on the weekend 00:21:09.16\00:21:10.50 until, you know, God finally knocked on my heart 00:21:10.53\00:21:12.57 and said, you cannot serve two masters. 00:21:12.60\00:21:14.57 You can't stand in both worlds. 00:21:14.60\00:21:15.94 And I had to make a choice 00:21:15.97\00:21:17.61 and, boy, it was the best choice 00:21:17.64\00:21:19.37 I ever could have made. 00:21:19.41\00:21:20.74 Amen. 00:21:20.78\00:21:22.11 So, you know, hearing Scotty's story 00:21:22.14\00:21:23.48 of his background 00:21:23.51\00:21:24.85 and how he kind of came into all of this, 00:21:24.88\00:21:26.21 did you guys have a similar background? 00:21:26.25\00:21:28.48 Was there something that 00:21:28.52\00:21:29.85 you might have experienced before 00:21:29.88\00:21:31.42 you came into this exposing the enemy 00:21:31.45\00:21:34.49 through this media outlet? 00:21:34.52\00:21:35.96 So what's your story and connectivity 00:21:35.99\00:21:37.49 to this ministry 00:21:37.53\00:21:38.86 and how it's function its purpose? 00:21:38.89\00:21:41.70 I'd say we're both products of the ministry. 00:21:41.73\00:21:43.47 Oh absolutely. 00:21:43.50\00:21:44.83 And I'll let Kendi start. 00:21:44.87\00:21:46.77 Okay. 00:21:46.80\00:21:48.14 I mean, there's a running joke in the office 00:21:48.17\00:21:49.70 about how young I am compared to these guys. 00:21:49.74\00:21:52.97 They keep throwing out references 00:21:53.01\00:21:54.34 that go completely over my head. 00:21:54.38\00:21:55.98 But yeah, I can tell you 00:21:56.01\00:21:57.35 a little bit about my back-story. 00:21:57.38\00:21:58.95 And don't let the accent fool you, 00:21:58.98\00:22:00.65 I was actually born on a little island 00:22:00.68\00:22:02.62 in the West Indies called St. Lucia. 00:22:02.65\00:22:04.52 And my mom and I moved to United States 00:22:04.55\00:22:06.59 when I was pretty young. 00:22:06.62\00:22:07.96 And she is a God-fearing woman, 00:22:07.99\00:22:10.16 which I thank the Lord for. 00:22:10.19\00:22:11.53 So whenever the church doors are open, 00:22:11.56\00:22:13.50 you could find us inside. 00:22:13.53\00:22:15.06 And when we weren't at church, we were either at a Bible study 00:22:15.10\00:22:17.97 at a friend's house or hosting it on our home. 00:22:18.00\00:22:21.10 And it was actually similar to Ryan. 00:22:21.14\00:22:23.34 A friend of ours gave us Battlefield Hollywood. 00:22:23.37\00:22:26.17 And that was our introduction to Little Light Studios 00:22:26.21\00:22:28.34 which, of course, blew my little mind like, whoa. 00:22:28.38\00:22:31.45 And we looked online to see 00:22:31.48\00:22:32.91 if there were any other productions 00:22:32.95\00:22:34.42 and that's how we found replacement gods 00:22:34.45\00:22:37.69 and magic kingdom, 00:22:37.72\00:22:39.79 all these productions that were happening. 00:22:39.82\00:22:41.62 You know, as you were in Hollywood reveal, 00:22:41.66\00:22:44.36 getting these revelations and just putting in the time 00:22:44.39\00:22:47.40 to create this content. 00:22:47.43\00:22:48.76 You were impacting people, 00:22:48.80\00:22:50.13 you know, even little babies like me at the time. 00:22:50.17\00:22:52.60 And so, yeah, but I always had a passion for film. 00:22:52.63\00:22:55.67 So Little Light Studios was the ministry 00:22:55.70\00:22:58.57 that really showed me the harmonious blend 00:22:58.61\00:23:01.64 between film and the gospel. 00:23:01.68\00:23:03.61 And that really excited me. 00:23:03.65\00:23:05.01 So after going to school for film, 00:23:05.05\00:23:06.78 I needed an internship site 00:23:06.82\00:23:08.58 and I went to GYC, 00:23:08.62\00:23:09.95 met Scotty for the first time, 00:23:09.98\00:23:11.45 you know, mustered all the courage 00:23:11.49\00:23:13.15 I could to give him my resume. 00:23:13.19\00:23:14.99 And I mean, that was about three years ago. 00:23:15.02\00:23:17.06 And that that's how I've been working with the ministry. 00:23:17.09\00:23:18.96 Praise the Lord. 00:23:18.99\00:23:20.33 It's always fun when somebody walks up to and says, 00:23:20.36\00:23:21.96 I used to watch when I was a little girl. 00:23:22.00\00:23:25.87 That's amazing. 00:23:25.90\00:23:27.24 And so I got to spoke briefly with you Keith 00:23:27.27\00:23:29.17 and you said you've been with them now for a while. 00:23:29.20\00:23:31.47 So how did you, you know, 00:23:31.51\00:23:34.34 obviously you were with them now, 00:23:34.38\00:23:35.84 you've been with them for quite a while, 00:23:35.88\00:23:37.21 but what's the back-story 00:23:37.25\00:23:38.58 on how you kind of came in contact with Little Light? 00:23:38.61\00:23:40.75 Yeah, I guess the back-story is starts kind of in collage. 00:23:40.78\00:23:46.35 I was 21 been out of church for seven years. 00:23:46.39\00:23:50.39 I didn't start college at 21, 00:23:50.43\00:23:51.76 but that's kind of a critical time 00:23:51.79\00:23:55.06 was searching, met a girl, 00:23:55.10\00:23:56.73 you know how that story goes. 00:23:56.77\00:23:58.10 She's now my wife, so. 00:23:58.13\00:24:00.14 But she challenged me on a couple of points. 00:24:00.17\00:24:01.74 One of them was, what do you believe? 00:24:01.77\00:24:03.41 The other one was, why do you believe it? 00:24:03.44\00:24:04.77 And if you would have asked me, I said, 00:24:04.81\00:24:06.14 I'm a Seventh-day Adventist. 00:24:06.17\00:24:07.51 And I knew the Ten Commandments were, 00:24:07.54\00:24:09.34 you know, God's law was, 00:24:09.38\00:24:11.61 you know, should be upheld. 00:24:11.65\00:24:12.98 I knew about the Sabbath. 00:24:13.01\00:24:14.35 But aside from that, 00:24:14.38\00:24:15.85 couldn't tell you really anything. 00:24:15.88\00:24:17.65 I had probably forgotten 00:24:17.69\00:24:19.02 anything that I'd ever learned. 00:24:19.05\00:24:20.62 So I started studying for myself 00:24:20.66\00:24:23.63 and to kind of fast forward 00:24:23.66\00:24:27.26 through that story, 00:24:27.30\00:24:28.76 learned a lot. 00:24:28.80\00:24:30.13 You know, my wife and I, we got married 00:24:30.17\00:24:32.03 and early on in our marriage, 00:24:32.07\00:24:33.80 I told her, you know, 00:24:33.84\00:24:35.30 I really have felt a call to work in ministry 00:24:35.34\00:24:38.07 for a long time, 00:24:38.11\00:24:39.44 since like 11 years old. 00:24:39.47\00:24:41.24 And, but God told me 00:24:41.28\00:24:44.71 there were three things in my life 00:24:44.75\00:24:46.08 that needed to change. 00:24:46.11\00:24:47.45 One, I needed to change what I was eating. 00:24:47.48\00:24:49.82 Second, I needed to change what I was watching. 00:24:49.85\00:24:52.19 And third, 00:24:52.22\00:24:53.56 I needed to be willing to move anywhere. 00:24:53.59\00:24:55.42 And God actually fulfilled all of those in that order. 00:24:55.46\00:24:59.69 I changed what I was eating. 00:24:59.73\00:25:01.06 I came across some videos 00:25:01.10\00:25:02.43 that made a lot of sense from a scientific perspective, 00:25:02.46\00:25:04.27 I have a science background. 00:25:04.30\00:25:05.63 Sure. 00:25:05.67\00:25:07.00 And I said, yeah, 00:25:07.04\00:25:08.37 that doesn't sound like it's very good for me. 00:25:08.40\00:25:09.74 And I want to serve God as long as I can. 00:25:09.77\00:25:11.11 So I cleansed the temple. 00:25:11.14\00:25:13.48 Then we, I remember we moved to our first house 00:25:13.51\00:25:16.68 and I've seen some videos 00:25:16.71\00:25:18.05 and it wasn't any of the documentaries. 00:25:18.08\00:25:20.12 It was Scott, 00:25:20.15\00:25:21.85 I think at AFCO doing some training. 00:25:21.88\00:25:24.52 It was on Facebook. 00:25:24.55\00:25:25.89 One of my friends, his nephew had posted it 00:25:25.92\00:25:27.86 and I was watching that video. 00:25:27.89\00:25:29.96 And I said you know what? 00:25:29.99\00:25:31.76 That makes perfect sense. 00:25:31.79\00:25:33.43 And for me, what I heard was the three angels' message. 00:25:33.46\00:25:36.93 And I said, this is now the reason 00:25:36.97\00:25:38.83 why I know I shouldn't watch 00:25:38.87\00:25:40.80 all of those things that I have been watching because 00:25:40.84\00:25:42.97 the media came in very strong 00:25:43.00\00:25:44.47 when my family left the church. 00:25:44.51\00:25:46.57 So one day called in, 00:25:46.61\00:25:51.28 called up the office 00:25:51.31\00:25:52.65 and I think somebody gave me Scotty's cell phone number. 00:25:52.68\00:25:55.08 He was at home at the time 00:25:55.12\00:25:56.82 and I poured my heart out for like an hour 00:25:56.85\00:25:59.15 and I said, do I sound crazy? 00:25:59.19\00:26:00.92 I feel like God is calling me to join this ministry. 00:26:00.96\00:26:04.23 It is a kind of a funny conversation, 00:26:04.26\00:26:05.59 looking back on it. 00:26:05.63\00:26:06.96 He's like, "Well, what do you do?" 00:26:07.00\00:26:09.26 I was like, "Well, I work in a laboratory." 00:26:09.30\00:26:13.10 Sure, sure. 00:26:13.13\00:26:14.47 I do chemistry and he's like, "Well, do you edit video?" 00:26:14.50\00:26:16.24 No. "Do you, Photoshop?" 00:26:16.27\00:26:18.37 No. 00:26:18.41\00:26:20.08 He's like, "Well what do you do?" 00:26:20.11\00:26:21.44 And I was like, "Well, I do chemistry." 00:26:21.48\00:26:22.81 And he is like... We'll take you. 00:26:22.84\00:26:24.18 We'll take you. 00:26:24.21\00:26:25.55 How is that supposed to work, you know? 00:26:25.58\00:26:26.92 Right. 00:26:26.95\00:26:28.28 But God was really calling me. 00:26:28.32\00:26:29.65 And so I guess the quick rest of the story 00:26:29.68\00:26:31.62 is He laid it on my heart to sell my house. 00:26:31.65\00:26:34.42 I told him if I'm going to do this full-time 00:26:34.46\00:26:35.79 you have to sell my house. 00:26:35.82\00:26:37.43 So I prayed a very specific prayer. 00:26:37.46\00:26:39.19 And two weeks later I got a phone call 00:26:39.23\00:26:40.93 without advertising and without calling realtor. 00:26:40.96\00:26:43.93 So that's pretty incredible. 00:26:43.97\00:26:45.93 That is amazing. 00:26:45.97\00:26:47.30 I sold my house in short order and we got going. 00:26:47.34\00:26:50.51 That's powerful. 00:26:50.54\00:26:51.87 So big into television, 00:26:51.91\00:26:54.08 big into movies and things like that. 00:26:54.11\00:26:55.64 But now you're in a ministry 00:26:55.68\00:26:57.01 where you're exposing all of that. 00:26:57.05\00:26:58.38 And do you guys ever get dubbed as the people 00:26:58.41\00:27:00.75 who destroy people's childhoods? 00:27:00.78\00:27:02.12 Yeah. Absolutely. 00:27:02.15\00:27:03.82 All the time. Yes. 00:27:03.85\00:27:05.72 So I was, it was a myth 00:27:05.75\00:27:07.16 'cause I grew up, you know, again, 00:27:07.19\00:27:08.52 watching Disney 00:27:08.56\00:27:09.89 and the many different child programs and cartoons, 00:27:09.92\00:27:12.13 and I was very much into movies. 00:27:12.16\00:27:13.90 Very much into video games and watch some, 00:27:13.93\00:27:16.73 watch the Magic Kingdom. 00:27:16.77\00:27:18.10 And I was like, what that didn't even, 00:27:18.13\00:27:19.63 it's just so much information that you don't realize is, 00:27:19.67\00:27:23.17 is it's there. 00:27:23.20\00:27:24.54 Like you said, you can watch it a hundred times, 00:27:24.57\00:27:26.14 a thousand times and you never catch it. 00:27:26.17\00:27:28.88 Now I can imagine 00:27:28.91\00:27:30.65 we talked a little bit about this behind the scenes, 00:27:30.68\00:27:32.48 but I can imagine 00:27:32.51\00:27:33.85 the audience that you're affecting the most 00:27:33.88\00:27:37.22 in your ministry is, 00:27:37.25\00:27:38.59 of course, probably more of a younger generation. 00:27:38.62\00:27:41.06 Because it seems like, well, certainly we know that, 00:27:41.09\00:27:43.49 you know, the older generations are just as much capable 00:27:43.53\00:27:45.83 of becoming addicted to media and different things, 00:27:45.86\00:27:47.93 but it almost seems like 00:27:47.96\00:27:49.30 obviously because of the recent, 00:27:49.33\00:27:50.97 you know, emergent, 00:27:51.00\00:27:52.33 you know, blast of technology 00:27:52.37\00:27:53.84 over the last couple of decades, 00:27:53.87\00:27:55.20 it seems like the millennia, 00:27:55.24\00:27:56.57 you know, the younger millennial generation, 00:27:56.60\00:27:58.21 the Generation Z, 00:27:58.24\00:27:59.57 this younger generation seems to be the ones 00:27:59.61\00:28:01.04 that are most affected by, 00:28:01.08\00:28:03.14 you know, Hollywood, media movies, 00:28:03.18\00:28:04.78 video games, things like that. 00:28:04.81\00:28:06.15 So talk a little bit about, 00:28:06.18\00:28:07.72 you know, your target audience 00:28:07.75\00:28:09.72 and how it is that has kind of taken off? 00:28:09.75\00:28:12.59 So when we sit down 00:28:12.62\00:28:13.96 and we really think about a project, 00:28:13.99\00:28:15.32 it is that younger demographic that we have in mind. 00:28:15.36\00:28:18.29 You know, as a church, I love my church to death. 00:28:18.33\00:28:21.20 I fight very hard for my church. 00:28:21.23\00:28:23.47 And so does the rest of our team. 00:28:23.50\00:28:24.83 I mean, we support everything that the church is doing, 00:28:24.87\00:28:28.74 but to be honest, 00:28:28.77\00:28:30.11 we have a difficult time talking to the teenagers 00:28:30.14\00:28:33.11 and college age range. 00:28:33.14\00:28:34.84 We're really good about talking to the kids. 00:28:34.88\00:28:37.05 We're really good about talking to the elder generation 00:28:37.08\00:28:39.61 and then we forget that middle demographic of groups. 00:28:39.65\00:28:42.52 And it's not necessarily because we just don't want to, 00:28:42.55\00:28:45.85 it's a hard group to talk to. 00:28:45.89\00:28:48.22 They're so used to Hollywood throwing, 00:28:48.26\00:28:50.63 you know, these amazing looking productions at them 00:28:50.66\00:28:53.66 that they've spent $800 million on. 00:28:53.70\00:28:56.46 There's a reason why 00:28:56.50\00:28:57.93 Marvel Universe looks the way that it does 00:28:57.97\00:29:00.77 'cause they put literally 00:29:00.80\00:29:02.20 almost a billion dollars into it. 00:29:02.24\00:29:04.24 And then we in, in Christianity it's, 00:29:04.27\00:29:06.61 we don't ever have access to that kind of resources. 00:29:06.64\00:29:09.41 So, you know, it's difficult for us 00:29:09.44\00:29:12.01 to really make them good looking enough 00:29:12.05\00:29:15.35 for the kids to even notice them. 00:29:15.38\00:29:17.59 And so, but we've taken it upon ourselves and, 00:29:17.62\00:29:21.82 you know, thinking of that demographic as well. 00:29:21.86\00:29:24.79 You know, we see them leaving the church a lot 00:29:24.83\00:29:27.03 and I believe that 00:29:27.06\00:29:28.40 those decisions are made when they're younger, right? 00:29:28.43\00:29:31.00 So that age when they're 12, 13, 14, 00:29:31.03\00:29:34.37 they're still in their parents' care. 00:29:34.40\00:29:35.94 They're formulating a worldview 00:29:35.97\00:29:38.27 that by the time they're 18 years old, 00:29:38.31\00:29:40.28 they've already made those decisions. 00:29:40.31\00:29:42.74 So if we can get to them in that earlier stage, 00:29:42.78\00:29:45.38 show them that this warfare is real. 00:29:45.41\00:29:47.72 Show them that God loves them 00:29:47.75\00:29:49.62 and learn to order your life after this book. 00:29:49.65\00:29:53.29 If you can filter the world around you 00:29:53.32\00:29:55.72 through the lens of the Bible, 00:29:55.76\00:29:57.49 you can see 00:29:57.53\00:29:59.23 like reasons why this is the way 00:29:59.26\00:30:02.26 that it tells us to live. 00:30:02.30\00:30:03.83 And so I believe that, you know, 00:30:03.87\00:30:06.17 there's this kind of misnomer with young people too 00:30:06.20\00:30:10.34 like the church isn't relevant. 00:30:10.37\00:30:12.34 And, you know, I don't believe that's totally the case. 00:30:12.37\00:30:15.78 I think the church is very relevant. 00:30:15.81\00:30:17.25 I think this information, 00:30:17.28\00:30:18.61 even though it's written years and years ago 00:30:18.65\00:30:20.62 is just as relevant for us today. 00:30:20.65\00:30:22.78 But what we're trying to do 00:30:22.82\00:30:24.15 is frame their world around them, 00:30:24.19\00:30:26.92 the movies, the video games, those kinds of things and say, 00:30:26.96\00:30:30.06 listen this is what your world consists of. 00:30:30.09\00:30:32.93 And the Bible has advice for you on this, 00:30:32.96\00:30:35.66 and so that's why we kind of aim at that demographic. 00:30:35.70\00:30:38.03 YouTube is obviously the easiest to get to them. 00:30:38.07\00:30:41.44 And, you know, we've got a lot of interesting data 00:30:41.47\00:30:44.91 coming from YouTube. 00:30:44.94\00:30:46.27 I mean, Keith, Keith kind of follows the analytics 00:30:46.31\00:30:48.68 on our YouTube a little bit. 00:30:48.71\00:30:50.05 So, you know, tell him a little bit about, 00:30:50.08\00:30:52.05 how, who's watching. 00:30:52.08\00:30:53.55 How do we know and those kinds of things? 00:30:53.58\00:30:55.55 Yeah, I suppose that we know from looking at our analytics, 00:30:55.58\00:30:58.45 we know we're reaching a demographic that's anywhere 00:30:58.49\00:31:00.32 from 18 to 35 is probably the bulk chunk of it. 00:31:00.36\00:31:04.16 A little bit younger and older as well. 00:31:04.19\00:31:06.16 But that's where the majority of the people are. 00:31:06.19\00:31:08.53 We probably have a mass about 8.5 million views. 00:31:08.56\00:31:14.07 You know, 1.5 million watch hours on our YouTube channel. 00:31:14.10\00:31:17.67 And what's interesting about young people today 00:31:17.71\00:31:19.61 is that they even find YouTube creators 00:31:19.64\00:31:22.98 more influential than Hollywood celebrities. 00:31:23.01\00:31:26.01 That's true. 00:31:26.05\00:31:27.38 Have you noticed that Hollywood celebrities 00:31:27.42\00:31:28.88 are now starting to become YouTubers? 00:31:28.92\00:31:30.69 Have you noticed this? 00:31:30.72\00:31:32.05 And I'm like, why is that guy have his own YouTube channel? 00:31:32.09\00:31:34.89 It's powerful. 00:31:34.92\00:31:36.26 My wife is the principal here and head teacher at our school. 00:31:36.29\00:31:39.93 And, of course, she had taught 00:31:39.96\00:31:41.30 at other Adventist schools as well. 00:31:41.33\00:31:42.70 And every year she'll give this, 00:31:42.73\00:31:44.17 you know, give these little assignments 00:31:44.20\00:31:45.53 where she'll ask them 00:31:45.57\00:31:46.90 to talk about what they want to be 00:31:46.94\00:31:48.27 when they grow up and all this. 00:31:48.30\00:31:49.64 And it's amazing how many kids, 00:31:49.67\00:31:51.01 what it is that they want to be is 00:31:51.04\00:31:52.71 I want to be a professional YouTuber. 00:31:52.74\00:31:54.91 And it's just like, what, like 10 years ago, 00:31:54.94\00:31:56.85 they don't even hear that, 00:31:56.88\00:31:58.21 you wouldn't even come up with that. 00:31:58.25\00:31:59.58 But again, I want to be professional YouTuber. 00:31:59.61\00:32:00.95 I want to create vines and, you know, have 30 million followers 00:32:00.98\00:32:03.72 and just make money from YouTube. 00:32:03.75\00:32:05.25 That's the way to go. So I get what you're saying. 00:32:05.29\00:32:07.69 It's a powerful thing, powerful tool. 00:32:07.72\00:32:09.49 It's amazing because if you think 00:32:09.52\00:32:11.33 this is the generation now where they've grown up 00:32:11.36\00:32:14.03 and their entire life is like being filmed, you know? 00:32:14.06\00:32:18.63 Every moment has to have a selfie. 00:32:18.67\00:32:21.20 And you know, you have 00:32:21.24\00:32:22.77 to, you know, like you said vines something or Instagram 00:32:22.80\00:32:25.24 it or Snapchat it or what have you. 00:32:25.27\00:32:26.98 And it's like they're under this scrutiny, 00:32:27.01\00:32:30.18 this heavy scrutiny of their public image 00:32:30.21\00:32:33.31 that people of yesteryear never had to deal with. 00:32:33.35\00:32:35.92 And so that comes with an incredible amount 00:32:35.95\00:32:37.95 of social pressure. 00:32:37.99\00:32:40.52 That is, you know, just drives them to do some crazy stuff. 00:32:40.56\00:32:45.56 There's a saying, you know, 00:32:45.59\00:32:46.93 the 80s and 90s were a great period to grow up 00:32:46.96\00:32:48.83 in because there's no evidence of it. 00:32:48.86\00:32:51.43 Social media didn't exist. 00:32:51.47\00:32:52.83 That's amazing. That's amazing. 00:32:52.87\00:32:54.57 You know, what you were mentioning earlier about that, 00:32:54.60\00:32:56.30 you know, it's easy to reach the kids 00:32:56.34\00:32:58.71 or we have something for the kids. 00:32:58.74\00:33:00.08 We have something for the adults. 00:33:00.11\00:33:01.44 I did a sermon a couple of years ago 00:33:01.48\00:33:03.45 called Youthanasia, Y-O-U-T-H, Youthanasia. 00:33:03.48\00:33:07.32 Where I show basically just the startling statistics of, 00:33:07.35\00:33:11.32 you know, the statistics I found was that, 00:33:11.35\00:33:14.09 you know, four out of ten people or ten people, 00:33:14.12\00:33:17.26 if we went ten people to the church, 00:33:17.29\00:33:18.63 four of those ten people are going to leave the church. 00:33:18.66\00:33:20.80 But then when looking at the data of those four 00:33:20.83\00:33:23.00 that are walking out the back door, 00:33:23.03\00:33:24.70 more than 90% of those four 00:33:24.73\00:33:26.90 are between the ages of 18 and 35. 00:33:26.94\00:33:28.87 Wow. 00:33:28.90\00:33:30.24 And so, as you were saying 00:33:30.27\00:33:31.61 that earlier about reaching that demographic, 00:33:31.64\00:33:34.04 I can relate to that because, you know, 00:33:34.08\00:33:35.91 I almost was one of those. 00:33:35.94\00:33:37.95 Praise the Lord, I wasn't, 00:33:37.98\00:33:39.31 but I understand I have friends, I have family members. 00:33:39.35\00:33:41.82 I have acquaintances, people that I know, even in ministry 00:33:41.85\00:33:44.92 that they're struggling because of the culture 00:33:44.95\00:33:48.39 that they've grown up in. 00:33:48.42\00:33:49.76 They're struggling with that worldview, 00:33:49.79\00:33:51.56 that perception is being challenged. 00:33:51.59\00:33:53.56 And now you guys come in 00:33:53.60\00:33:55.00 and you're trying to reach them. 00:33:55.03\00:33:56.80 And that's the question I want to ask, you know, 00:33:56.83\00:34:00.07 we want to ask the question, how are you reaching them? 00:34:00.10\00:34:02.30 But what are some of the challenges 00:34:02.34\00:34:03.67 that you might have faced 00:34:03.71\00:34:05.14 in the process of trying to reach this demographic? 00:34:05.17\00:34:07.38 Because you're basically telling them 00:34:07.41\00:34:09.34 things that perhaps some of them 00:34:09.38\00:34:10.71 may not want to hear, right? 00:34:10.75\00:34:12.45 You know, oh, you know, that show that you're watching, 00:34:12.48\00:34:14.22 it's probably not the best show to watch. 00:34:14.25\00:34:15.58 Let me tell you why and what it's doing to you. 00:34:15.62\00:34:17.35 What's some of the feedback that you might've had, 00:34:17.39\00:34:19.25 maybe some challenges in the process? 00:34:19.29\00:34:20.99 I can speak to that. 00:34:21.02\00:34:22.36 Yeah, absolutely. 00:34:22.39\00:34:23.73 You know, growing up in church, you know, 00:34:23.76\00:34:25.39 you have resources like the hymnal, 00:34:25.43\00:34:27.50 the Bible, these things like that, which are fantastic, 00:34:27.53\00:34:30.27 but there are other tools out there that can be used 00:34:30.30\00:34:32.20 to further the gospel. 00:34:32.23\00:34:33.57 And that's something that I really 00:34:33.60\00:34:34.94 appreciated about Little Light, 00:34:34.97\00:34:36.30 because first off, there was so much information 00:34:36.34\00:34:39.34 that they're trying to throw at you, 00:34:39.37\00:34:40.71 but it's also packaged in a great way 00:34:40.74\00:34:42.84 besides Battlefield Hollywood, 00:34:42.88\00:34:44.31 which is more presentation style, 00:34:44.35\00:34:46.01 the rest of the documentaries have incredible 00:34:46.05\00:34:47.95 quality and value, production value where as... 00:34:47.98\00:34:51.59 There's this thinking that, oh, 00:34:51.62\00:34:53.29 if I want to see something really nice 00:34:53.32\00:34:54.92 as you were referring to, let me go to Hollywood, 00:34:54.96\00:34:56.89 because that's where the big bucks is, 00:34:56.93\00:34:58.79 but I saw their production where no, 00:34:58.83\00:35:01.53 our church can also produce something 00:35:01.56\00:35:03.83 that is just as good with the message 00:35:03.87\00:35:06.67 that's coming directly from the Word of God. 00:35:06.70\00:35:09.17 So that was something that I definitely appreciated. 00:35:09.20\00:35:12.54 I think a struggle to your question 00:35:12.57\00:35:16.14 is kind of loosening the reins 00:35:16.18\00:35:18.71 of the practices of yesteryear. 00:35:18.75\00:35:23.22 I'll be careful how I say that 00:35:23.25\00:35:24.59 because those are definitely important, 00:35:24.62\00:35:26.02 but to understand that there are tools presently 00:35:26.05\00:35:28.22 that can be used to further the gospel in powerful ways. 00:35:28.26\00:35:30.69 Okay. 00:35:30.73\00:35:32.36 So you kind of seemed hesitant to say what you just said. 00:35:32.39\00:35:35.30 Let's unpack what you just said for a moment 00:35:35.33\00:35:37.03 'cause I think that is important. 00:35:37.07\00:35:38.67 You talk about having to kind of readjust 00:35:38.70\00:35:41.00 some of the practices of yesteryear, 00:35:41.04\00:35:42.67 because to be honest with you, 00:35:42.70\00:35:44.04 we're talking about a generation. 00:35:44.07\00:35:46.74 I've read a quote just recently were, 00:35:46.78\00:35:49.28 you know, studies, scientists had, you know, 00:35:49.31\00:35:51.05 surveyed all these young people. 00:35:51.08\00:35:52.41 He had studied all of the demographics 00:35:52.45\00:35:54.65 and the changes in culture over several different generations. 00:35:54.68\00:35:57.52 And he came to the conclusion that over, you know, 00:35:57.55\00:35:59.82 every like 50 years or so, 00:35:59.85\00:36:01.29 there's this drastic cultural change where, 00:36:01.32\00:36:04.89 you know, the kids that are growing up 00:36:04.93\00:36:06.46 in today can't imagine, 00:36:06.49\00:36:08.30 or even come, I mean, the brains can't even fathom 00:36:08.33\00:36:11.30 growing up or living during the time 00:36:11.33\00:36:13.00 that their grandparents grew up 00:36:13.03\00:36:14.37 or that even their own parents grew up. 00:36:14.40\00:36:16.17 And so maybe just what she just said in regards to, you know, 00:36:16.20\00:36:20.88 maybe having to adjust some of the practices of yesterday. 00:36:20.91\00:36:23.61 Of course, we're not talking about compromising truth. 00:36:23.65\00:36:25.71 We're not talking about getting rid of who we are as a people, 00:36:25.75\00:36:28.08 but let's talk just a few minutes 00:36:28.12\00:36:29.45 about what is it that we might have to adjust or change, 00:36:29.48\00:36:32.09 or maybe take a different perspective 00:36:32.12\00:36:35.12 or maybe a different approach to, 00:36:35.16\00:36:36.79 in order to reach the hearts and minds 00:36:36.83\00:36:38.33 of these younger generation? 00:36:38.36\00:36:40.00 I've really appreciated 00:36:40.03\00:36:41.46 having Kendi come on board because, you know, 00:36:41.50\00:36:44.70 as Keith and I would like to think 00:36:44.73\00:36:46.27 we kind of have a little bit of youth left in us. 00:36:46.30\00:36:49.10 We are kind of one foot 00:36:49.14\00:36:50.64 in the sort of stepping out of that demographic 00:36:50.67\00:36:54.08 and to have somebody 00:36:54.11\00:36:55.84 who is connected to that generation, 00:36:55.88\00:36:58.88 understands that generation, 00:36:58.91\00:37:00.58 uses the technology of that generation 00:37:00.62\00:37:03.15 and not in a position where she came on board 00:37:03.18\00:37:06.15 and now we're all of a sudden telling her what to do. 00:37:06.19\00:37:08.32 We brought her to the table and said help us. 00:37:08.36\00:37:11.33 What is it that you want? 00:37:11.36\00:37:12.79 And so, some of the ways that we've overcome 00:37:12.83\00:37:15.10 or are trying to overcome is if we want to reach them, 00:37:15.13\00:37:18.53 involve them, put them on your, put them on your teams, 00:37:18.57\00:37:21.40 put them in your media productions, 00:37:21.44\00:37:22.77 put them in the room in a position 00:37:22.80\00:37:24.17 where they can actually make decisions with you and for you 00:37:24.21\00:37:26.91 because Kendi brings things to the table 00:37:26.94\00:37:28.84 that we're not even thinking about. 00:37:28.88\00:37:30.81 I didn't grow up with that, 00:37:30.85\00:37:32.61 or I didn't deal with that in that way. 00:37:32.65\00:37:34.98 And so to have that perspective, 00:37:35.02\00:37:36.65 a part of your core team, 00:37:36.69\00:37:38.59 I think it's very helpful to us. 00:37:38.62\00:37:39.95 Absolutely, yeah. 00:37:39.99\00:37:41.32 That's awesome. That's awesome. 00:37:41.36\00:37:42.69 So you bring that fresh kind of younger perspective 00:37:42.72\00:37:47.03 to the table that perhaps, 00:37:47.06\00:37:48.40 maybe others aren't able to perceive or to understand. 00:37:48.43\00:37:52.77 So, okay, so you guys are reaching out 00:37:52.80\00:37:54.40 through all of these different projects. 00:37:54.44\00:37:57.01 You're naming some I already mentioned 00:37:57.04\00:37:58.64 the Battlefield Hollywood, 00:37:58.67\00:38:00.08 we talked, I referenced The Magic Kingdom. 00:38:00.11\00:38:02.91 Pseudology was the one that we created 00:38:02.94\00:38:05.11 that really deals with the science 00:38:05.15\00:38:06.85 of what happens in the brain when you watch TV 00:38:06.88\00:38:09.38 and we specifically actually, 00:38:09.42\00:38:12.15 it took us three years to make that documentary, 00:38:12.19\00:38:14.82 that's sometimes the people don't understand 00:38:14.86\00:38:17.39 because the amount of research 00:38:17.43\00:38:19.39 and the amount of lining up different interviews, I mean, 00:38:19.43\00:38:22.36 we went to Seattle's Children Hospital 00:38:22.40\00:38:24.80 and talked to their top neurologist, and, 00:38:24.83\00:38:26.77 you know, those are not easy interviews. 00:38:26.80\00:38:28.60 You can't just call them up on the phone or go and get one. 00:38:28.64\00:38:31.47 And so 00:38:31.51\00:38:32.84 we specifically wanted to set aside the argument of religion. 00:38:32.87\00:38:36.14 We want to say, let's not be influenced 00:38:36.18\00:38:38.31 because you believe in God, I believe in God. 00:38:38.35\00:38:40.88 We emailed them from private email addresses. 00:38:40.92\00:38:43.59 We didn't tell them that 00:38:43.62\00:38:44.95 it was a religious broadcasting, 00:38:44.99\00:38:47.49 you know, situation. 00:38:47.52\00:38:48.86 Or we didn't tell them like anything 00:38:48.89\00:38:50.29 that we were doing with the project, 00:38:50.33\00:38:51.66 other than we want to know the straight science. 00:38:51.69\00:38:54.46 And so once we understood, wow, 00:38:54.50\00:38:56.26 you really are affected by what you watch. 00:38:56.30\00:38:59.20 Then it's like, you can apply that to, well, 00:38:59.23\00:39:01.34 does the message impact you? 00:39:01.37\00:39:03.30 And so Pseudology to me, it was one of my more favorite 00:39:03.34\00:39:06.17 ones that we worked on. 00:39:06.21\00:39:07.54 From there, we worked on a superhero 00:39:07.58\00:39:09.58 one called The Replacement Gods. 00:39:09.61\00:39:10.95 We actually made one and two, and they really dealt 00:39:10.98\00:39:13.48 with the imagery behind superheroes 00:39:13.52\00:39:16.92 because there is a lot of Christ like imagery. 00:39:16.95\00:39:19.09 This is incredible. 00:39:19.12\00:39:20.46 I didn't mean to interrupt you, I just got to say this. 00:39:20.49\00:39:22.29 I watched this 'cause I own, I have the, 00:39:22.32\00:39:24.46 because you guys have a part two now. 00:39:24.49\00:39:25.83 I don't know if I've seen the part two. 00:39:25.86\00:39:27.63 I've seen the part one. 00:39:27.66\00:39:29.13 I own part one. 00:39:29.16\00:39:30.60 I grew up as a kid, you know, idolizing Batman and Superman 00:39:30.63\00:39:34.70 and Aquaman and all these Spiderman, 00:39:34.74\00:39:36.91 all these different superheroes. 00:39:36.94\00:39:38.67 I mean, that was basically Ninja Turtles 00:39:38.71\00:39:40.41 and all these different things. 00:39:40.44\00:39:42.01 But when I saw Replacement Gods, 00:39:42.04\00:39:45.28 it's amazing at all like you said, 00:39:45.31\00:39:47.78 all of that Biblical imagery, 00:39:47.82\00:39:49.88 that Christ like imagery that you see. 00:39:49.92\00:39:52.09 Like these guys that are creating 00:39:52.12\00:39:54.59 these characters in these movies, 00:39:54.62\00:39:56.96 they're thinking and studying the Bible 00:39:56.99\00:40:01.53 to create and bring about and to depict 00:40:01.56\00:40:03.37 these characters in a certain way. 00:40:03.40\00:40:05.73 And I saw, I remember seeing one scene 00:40:05.77\00:40:07.47 where it shows like Superman falling 00:40:07.50\00:40:09.34 and he's like hanging up on a tree. 00:40:09.37\00:40:11.61 And it's like he's being crucified on a cross 00:40:11.64\00:40:13.68 and Superman's being portrayed or being depicted 00:40:13.71\00:40:16.88 as this Christ like savior of the world. 00:40:16.91\00:40:19.65 And so you guys show all of that 00:40:19.68\00:40:21.48 and how dangerous it can be to the human mind. 00:40:21.52\00:40:24.35 And I didn't mean to interrupt you. 00:40:24.39\00:40:25.72 I was just going to... I've seen it. 00:40:25.75\00:40:27.09 And it just amazed me and watching that. 00:40:27.12\00:40:28.79 Yeah. And the imagery is there. 00:40:28.82\00:40:30.49 No one can deny that there are Christ like parallels, 00:40:30.53\00:40:33.83 but it's very interesting 00:40:33.86\00:40:35.20 because we had some interviews in that production 00:40:35.23\00:40:37.60 where they talked about opening their minds 00:40:37.63\00:40:40.10 and letting the demons come in 00:40:40.14\00:40:41.50 and the demons were helping them write that movie. 00:40:41.54\00:40:43.77 So if you just kind of think of that thought, 00:40:43.81\00:40:46.21 like the demons were helping them write the movie 00:40:46.24\00:40:48.81 and you sit in a dark room, staring at a blinking light, 00:40:48.84\00:40:52.48 and you're just soaking that into your brain. 00:40:52.51\00:40:54.72 What is it that, what's the message really getting at? 00:40:54.75\00:40:57.59 And so that's where, that's where that project, 00:40:57.62\00:40:59.42 I think, hit home with a lot of young people 00:40:59.45\00:41:01.46 really kind of. 00:41:01.49\00:41:02.82 Well, it's relevant because what, I mean, 00:41:02.86\00:41:05.36 it seems like every year, 00:41:05.39\00:41:07.03 and they're even amplifying it now 00:41:07.06\00:41:08.50 where more and more superhero movies are coming out, 00:41:08.53\00:41:10.57 that seems to be the big box office hits these days. 00:41:10.60\00:41:13.40 There was an interview with a comic book writer 00:41:13.44\00:41:16.94 for DC Comics who wrote for Superman. 00:41:16.97\00:41:19.24 And he was having a conversation with another guy 00:41:19.27\00:41:21.84 who writes comic books too. 00:41:21.88\00:41:23.28 And he said, you know, this is really interesting. 00:41:23.31\00:41:24.95 It's like, we're rewriting the Bible. 00:41:24.98\00:41:27.35 And I think that thought right there went, 00:41:27.38\00:41:29.78 the Bible doesn't need to be rewritten 00:41:29.82\00:41:31.55 like that's what they're doing. 00:41:31.59\00:41:34.89 They're framing it in a Christian sense 00:41:34.92\00:41:37.33 so that you go, I feel familiar with it. 00:41:37.36\00:41:39.69 And then your guard goes down 00:41:39.73\00:41:41.33 and they're telling you a different story. 00:41:41.36\00:41:42.70 Yeah, and on a... 00:41:42.73\00:41:44.30 I guess on a neurological level, 00:41:44.33\00:41:47.30 many of these kids, 00:41:47.34\00:41:48.67 many of these younger individuals 00:41:48.70\00:41:50.44 who are watching these movies and they're seeing these movies 00:41:50.47\00:41:53.61 and then maybe later on down the road, 00:41:53.64\00:41:55.51 they're introduced to the Bible. 00:41:55.54\00:41:56.88 Do you think it might create almost like a complacency 00:41:56.91\00:42:00.88 or maybe a negative approach to the fact of, 00:42:00.92\00:42:02.92 oh, you know, this is the Bible story. 00:42:02.95\00:42:05.15 I've heard this. 00:42:05.19\00:42:06.52 And it's just kind of like Gilgamesh 00:42:06.55\00:42:07.92 and the story of Noah, 00:42:07.96\00:42:09.29 where people are trying to say that there, 00:42:09.32\00:42:10.66 there are so many multiple, 00:42:10.69\00:42:12.03 you know, different duplicates of this story out there. 00:42:12.06\00:42:14.03 Do you think that maybe the devil is using that 00:42:14.06\00:42:16.26 to try to create some type of negative perception 00:42:16.30\00:42:19.87 in the minds of the people watching? 00:42:19.90\00:42:22.00 That's exactly what I was going to say 00:42:22.04\00:42:23.37 is its creating confusion. 00:42:23.41\00:42:25.67 And then the stories that are put out, 00:42:25.71\00:42:27.28 I like the way Scotty always puts it. 00:42:27.31\00:42:28.74 You know, they show you a savior 00:42:28.78\00:42:31.75 that saves you from the world, 00:42:31.78\00:42:33.31 but never a savior 00:42:33.35\00:42:34.68 that saves you from your sins, right? 00:42:34.72\00:42:36.45 And that's what we need. 00:42:36.48\00:42:37.82 And so if you're not getting that, 00:42:37.85\00:42:39.19 and you're just getting this confusing story, 00:42:39.22\00:42:40.86 that's kind of like the Bible, kind of like Jesus, 00:42:40.89\00:42:44.39 and it doesn't seem like it does anything for you, 00:42:44.43\00:42:48.43 then the association 00:42:48.46\00:42:50.40 that they're putting with Christianity. 00:42:50.43\00:42:51.77 You're going to say, oh, I don't really need that. 00:42:51.80\00:42:53.77 See, what's different 00:42:53.80\00:42:55.14 than that in a pagan god, right? 00:42:55.17\00:42:58.14 A pagan god was saving you from something. 00:42:58.17\00:43:00.04 A pagan god was doing all these things 00:43:00.08\00:43:01.61 that were like Jesus. 00:43:01.64\00:43:02.98 You know, I was doing a little bit of research 00:43:03.01\00:43:05.71 on the god Baal. 00:43:05.75\00:43:07.95 And, you know, it's really interesting. 00:43:07.98\00:43:10.32 Baal was called lord. 00:43:10.35\00:43:12.02 He was called almighty. 00:43:12.05\00:43:13.39 He was called the god of the sky. 00:43:13.42\00:43:15.59 And the story was that 00:43:15.62\00:43:17.16 he went down into the underworld 00:43:17.19\00:43:19.03 and fought a snake god, 00:43:19.06\00:43:21.00 who was the god of death. 00:43:21.03\00:43:23.00 Died was resurrected and came back to life. 00:43:23.03\00:43:26.17 Now tell me where in that story 00:43:26.20\00:43:28.00 is that not a parallel for the story of Jesus? 00:43:28.04\00:43:30.57 Absolutely, right. 00:43:30.61\00:43:31.94 But clearly God said, you know, through Elijah, 00:43:31.97\00:43:35.91 choose you this day, you know, you're going to serve that. 00:43:35.94\00:43:38.45 God serve that God. 00:43:38.48\00:43:39.81 So God was specifically saying, 00:43:39.85\00:43:43.45 you may see these parallels in there, 00:43:43.49\00:43:46.15 but that's a pagan god 00:43:46.19\00:43:47.52 and it has nothing to do with Me. 00:43:47.56\00:43:49.12 And so, that's what we try to really teach people 00:43:49.16\00:43:51.39 is what is that the heart of the gospel, 00:43:51.43\00:43:54.00 that is a transformation of our sinful characters, 00:43:54.03\00:43:58.27 that's why His name was Jesus to be, 00:43:58.30\00:44:00.24 to take away the sins of the world, 00:44:00.27\00:44:02.10 Matthew 1:21, right? 00:44:02.14\00:44:03.67 So if that message is not coming out 00:44:03.71\00:44:06.61 in a Christ looking movie like Superman, 00:44:06.64\00:44:10.21 well, what do we call that when it looks like Christ, 00:44:10.25\00:44:12.38 but doesn't share in the mission of Christ? 00:44:12.41\00:44:13.75 That's right. 00:44:13.78\00:44:15.12 We call that an Antichrist. 00:44:15.15\00:44:16.58 That's amazing. 00:44:16.62\00:44:17.95 I just want to turn to Keith for a moment, 00:44:17.99\00:44:19.32 because as you were talking about the Pseudology, 00:44:19.35\00:44:22.16 you know, the science of the brain and all of that. 00:44:22.19\00:44:23.99 I know you have a background 00:44:24.03\00:44:25.43 in chemistry, biochemistry, or something like that. 00:44:25.46\00:44:27.60 So as you guys are formulating, planning, 00:44:27.63\00:44:30.07 creating these projects, 00:44:30.10\00:44:32.47 do you see now you're studying, 00:44:32.50\00:44:34.74 you're doing all these interviews, 00:44:34.77\00:44:36.27 you see all of the science behind this. 00:44:36.30\00:44:38.41 What was your thoughts now 00:44:38.44\00:44:40.11 as, you know, into science previously in your past career, 00:44:40.14\00:44:44.61 how did it affect you as a kind of like uh-huh moment? 00:44:44.65\00:44:47.32 Or did you know this stuff kind of going into this, 00:44:47.35\00:44:49.72 any of these projects? 00:44:49.75\00:44:51.09 No, I wouldn't say that 00:44:51.12\00:44:52.45 I knew this stuff coming into it 00:44:52.49\00:44:53.82 because I really studied mostly chemistry and biochemistry. 00:44:53.86\00:44:55.79 And a lot of this was more neuroscience and psychology. 00:44:55.82\00:45:00.03 But I definitely recognized, 00:45:00.06\00:45:03.43 you know, a lot of the chemicals 00:45:03.47\00:45:04.80 they were talking about, the neurotransmitters 00:45:04.83\00:45:06.70 and, you know, the hormones and things like that. 00:45:06.74\00:45:10.11 I was familiar with those. 00:45:10.14\00:45:11.61 But yeah, it was quite eye-opening. 00:45:11.64\00:45:14.01 That's amazing. 00:45:14.04\00:45:15.38 Yeah, go ahead. 00:45:15.41\00:45:16.75 Yeah. 00:45:16.78\00:45:18.11 And for me although I wasn't involved 00:45:18.15\00:45:19.48 in the making of the project, 00:45:19.51\00:45:20.85 what I got from it was 00:45:20.88\00:45:22.22 this might sound a little weird, 00:45:22.25\00:45:23.59 but we don't give the devil enough credit 00:45:23.62\00:45:25.15 and we give ourselves too much credit. 00:45:25.19\00:45:27.36 So when you have that glass of orange juice 00:45:27.39\00:45:28.92 and you put a drop of poison and you drink it, 00:45:28.96\00:45:31.09 well, you might not taste the poison, 00:45:31.13\00:45:32.46 but it's going to affect your body. 00:45:32.49\00:45:34.06 So just everything that I was learning 00:45:34.10\00:45:36.10 in the documentary is just really opened my eyes 00:45:36.13\00:45:37.80 like, wow, we need to be on guard 00:45:37.83\00:45:39.67 and study the truth 00:45:39.70\00:45:41.04 instead of filling our minds with the counterfeit. 00:45:41.07\00:45:42.97 That's amazing. 00:45:43.00\00:45:44.37 Pseudology, Replacement Gods, Magic Kingdom, 00:45:44.41\00:45:48.68 speak on that for a moment? 00:45:48.71\00:45:50.38 How many letters have you gotten on that one? 00:45:50.41\00:45:52.98 That project I did not grow up on Disney, 00:45:53.01\00:45:55.98 so I still to this day have not seen those princess stories. 00:45:56.02\00:46:00.92 That wasn't a part of my childhood. 00:46:00.96\00:46:02.82 I don't know if you guys have a different story than me, 00:46:02.86\00:46:05.76 but my brother who also started this ministry with us, 00:46:05.79\00:46:09.70 we used to take side jobs and stuff. 00:46:09.73\00:46:12.53 And we were working on this one company 00:46:12.57\00:46:14.30 that was kind of sending us around the country. 00:46:14.34\00:46:16.60 And we were staying in a lot of different hotels 00:46:16.64\00:46:18.84 and we walked into this hotel 00:46:18.87\00:46:20.51 and this was in the very beginning 00:46:20.54\00:46:21.88 of our ministry. 00:46:21.91\00:46:23.24 So I hadn't totally stepped away 00:46:23.28\00:46:24.65 from secular Hollywood type stuff. 00:46:24.68\00:46:27.65 And I was tired, been working all day 00:46:27.68\00:46:29.98 and we walk into this, to this hotel room 00:46:30.02\00:46:32.92 and on the floor 00:46:32.95\00:46:34.29 is a Walt Disney video called Mulan. 00:46:34.32\00:46:37.06 And it's sitting in the center of the floor, in the hotel. 00:46:37.09\00:46:40.00 Now, when have you ever walked into a hotel 00:46:40.03\00:46:41.83 and seen something that doesn't belong there? 00:46:41.86\00:46:44.50 That's rare, right? 00:46:44.53\00:46:45.87 Usually there are people that clean the room 00:46:45.90\00:46:47.34 or whatever, like that's rare. 00:46:47.37\00:46:48.90 And so my brother goes, "Let's watch it." 00:46:48.94\00:46:50.41 I go, "No, no, no, no, no. I'm going to bed." 00:46:50.44\00:46:52.71 So he stayed up and he actually ended up 00:46:52.74\00:46:54.54 watching it and I went to sleep. 00:46:54.58\00:46:56.21 And when we woke up in the morning, 00:46:56.24\00:46:57.58 he said, I know what Disney is doing. 00:46:57.61\00:46:59.61 And he quickly fast-forwarded it put the DVD back in. 00:46:59.65\00:47:02.55 And he brought me to a part that, 00:47:02.58\00:47:04.02 that Mulan was sitting there questioning and stuff, 00:47:04.05\00:47:07.76 or the other princess was questioning Mulan 00:47:07.79\00:47:09.86 about following the rules. 00:47:09.89\00:47:12.06 And what do you do 00:47:12.09\00:47:13.43 when your heart tells you to break the rules? 00:47:13.46\00:47:16.43 Do you follow the rules or do you follow your heart? 00:47:16.46\00:47:19.30 She said, you need to follow your heart over the rules. 00:47:19.33\00:47:22.80 And I just went, well, what else is Disney saying? 00:47:22.84\00:47:25.47 And I quickly went home. 00:47:25.51\00:47:26.84 I started doing research and time and time again, 00:47:26.88\00:47:29.24 Disney kept saying, follow your heart. 00:47:29.28\00:47:31.28 Follow your heart, don't follow the rules. 00:47:31.31\00:47:32.75 That's every Disney movie. 00:47:32.78\00:47:34.12 Follow your heart. That's every Disney movie. 00:47:34.15\00:47:35.55 And so from that premise, 00:47:35.58\00:47:37.02 it's like, what are we teaching our kids? 00:47:37.05\00:47:39.15 They go to church for one hour out of the week, 00:47:39.19\00:47:42.26 we try to build a worldview of obey God, 00:47:42.29\00:47:45.96 do what He's asking us to do. 00:47:45.99\00:47:47.53 The Ten Commandments have value in your life. 00:47:47.56\00:47:49.73 And yet all week they go home and fill their mind 00:47:49.76\00:47:52.13 with break the rules. 00:47:52.17\00:47:53.90 That's right. 00:47:53.94\00:47:55.27 It's powerful. 00:47:55.30\00:47:56.64 It's also powerful to think, 00:47:56.67\00:47:58.01 you know, just as you may reference Mulan, 00:47:58.04\00:47:59.37 it's not, I mean, it's Mulan and several of the other, 00:47:59.41\00:48:01.64 but you know, 00:48:01.68\00:48:03.41 these other things that the devil slides in there, 00:48:03.45\00:48:05.55 that's teaching our kids, these ideas 00:48:05.58\00:48:07.65 that, you know, like the state of the dead. 00:48:07.68\00:48:09.05 I think of... I grew up watching Mulan as a kid. 00:48:09.08\00:48:11.79 I've seen it several times. 00:48:11.82\00:48:13.15 There are several scenes of necromancy 00:48:13.19\00:48:16.12 where this little dragon's calling 00:48:16.16\00:48:17.49 all the dead spirits back from the grave 00:48:17.53\00:48:19.39 and they're talking to them. 00:48:19.43\00:48:20.76 And so, you know, these are little subtle things 00:48:20.80\00:48:22.56 that when you're a kid, 00:48:22.60\00:48:24.20 you know, you're just sitting there glued to the television 00:48:24.23\00:48:26.03 because you're just so 'cause all the whole flashing colors 00:48:26.07\00:48:27.70 and all the fast movements 00:48:27.74\00:48:31.14 and the story of overcoming evil, 00:48:31.17\00:48:32.61 you know, you kind of have 00:48:32.64\00:48:33.98 that heroic type of character that's in there, 00:48:34.01\00:48:35.74 but you're not, you're just kind of subconsciously catching 00:48:35.78\00:48:39.01 all of these other little elements 00:48:39.05\00:48:40.92 that's teaching you something, 00:48:40.95\00:48:42.68 that's placing something there, 00:48:42.72\00:48:44.05 by beholding you become changed. 00:48:44.09\00:48:46.79 So Magic Kingdom, man, ooh. 00:48:46.82\00:48:49.19 So, I've kind of begun to look at media 00:48:49.22\00:48:51.79 as, you know, it's little by little, right? 00:48:51.83\00:48:54.73 A little here, little there, 00:48:54.76\00:48:56.30 it's in the same way that 00:48:56.33\00:48:57.67 you're not going to go to church once. 00:48:57.70\00:48:59.50 And all of a sudden understand the things of God. 00:48:59.53\00:49:02.80 You're not going to see one movie and reject God. 00:49:02.84\00:49:05.84 But if you study your Bible and you go to church 00:49:05.87\00:49:08.41 and you pray and you have these little conversations 00:49:08.44\00:49:10.35 and you constantly keep going back on a daily basis, 00:49:10.38\00:49:13.82 pretty soon, you're going to have a relationship with God 00:49:13.85\00:49:16.08 and understand what God is getting at. 00:49:16.12\00:49:18.75 But in the same way, the world is doing the same thing. 00:49:18.79\00:49:21.76 It's not one movie, 00:49:21.79\00:49:23.12 it's all these years of when you're a kid 00:49:23.16\00:49:25.49 filling your brain with all those messages 00:49:25.53\00:49:27.80 that are like, don't follow the rules. 00:49:27.83\00:49:29.16 Don't follow the rules. 00:49:29.20\00:49:30.53 Don't follow the rules. 00:49:30.57\00:49:31.90 And it's totally contrary to this. 00:49:31.93\00:49:33.27 That's true. 00:49:33.30\00:49:34.64 I grew up, I have to admit to the fact, 00:49:34.67\00:49:37.61 obviously I haven't always 00:49:37.64\00:49:38.97 been a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, 00:49:39.01\00:49:40.54 but it wasn't until I was an adult 00:49:40.58\00:49:43.68 that I fully understood, for instance, 00:49:43.71\00:49:45.85 the concept of the state of the dead. 00:49:45.88\00:49:47.45 A lot of what aided to my false perception 00:49:47.48\00:49:50.55 of spiritualism was these movies that, 00:49:50.59\00:49:53.25 you know, Disney's Hercules 00:49:53.29\00:49:55.52 and where he's picking her translucent ghost up, 00:49:55.56\00:49:58.29 you know, and taking it back and putting in her body 00:49:58.33\00:50:00.63 and all of these different movies 00:50:00.66\00:50:02.16 that I watched growing up 00:50:02.20\00:50:03.53 gave me this false perception 00:50:03.57\00:50:04.90 that, oh, we have this, this ghost like apparition 00:50:04.93\00:50:08.20 or spirit that's living within us that, 00:50:08.24\00:50:10.01 you know, so it's little things like this. 00:50:10.04\00:50:11.64 And obviously, like you said, you know, the concept of, 00:50:11.67\00:50:13.88 you know, breaking the rules, it's okay to follow your heart, 00:50:13.91\00:50:16.21 all of those things. 00:50:16.24\00:50:17.58 And so absolutely the Magic Kingdom, 00:50:17.61\00:50:18.95 if you haven't seen the Magic Kingdom, 00:50:18.98\00:50:20.65 you got to get it. 00:50:20.68\00:50:22.02 It's powerful. 00:50:22.05\00:50:23.39 So Magic Kingdom, 00:50:23.42\00:50:24.75 what's what comes kind of next in your list here? 00:50:24.79\00:50:26.55 So after those, we started getting a lot of questions 00:50:26.59\00:50:29.06 about video games and, you know, like they say, 00:50:29.09\00:50:31.86 oh my kids, they don't, 00:50:31.89\00:50:33.23 they don't really watch a lot of movies, 00:50:33.26\00:50:34.60 but they play hours a day of video games. 00:50:34.63\00:50:36.50 And if you really think of, if you talk to parents 00:50:36.53\00:50:39.30 and you say, you know, in terms of 00:50:39.33\00:50:41.70 what do you see your kids really spend more time. 00:50:41.74\00:50:44.21 It's like two hours a day, maybe watching movies. 00:50:44.24\00:50:46.74 Some of these kids are playing video games for eight, 00:50:46.78\00:50:48.84 nine, ten all night long. 00:50:48.88\00:50:51.31 So parents were just pleading with us, 00:50:51.35\00:50:53.82 please do something on video games. 00:50:53.85\00:50:55.38 Now, I wasn't a big video game player. 00:50:55.42\00:50:56.75 Were you guys? 00:50:56.79\00:50:58.12 A little bit. 00:50:58.15\00:50:59.49 A little bit. 00:50:59.52\00:51:00.86 So there's some experience here, 00:51:00.89\00:51:02.22 but one of the other guys 00:51:02.26\00:51:03.59 that was part of our ministry in the beginning, 00:51:03.63\00:51:04.96 he was a big video game player. 00:51:04.99\00:51:06.33 And so he initiated the first video game documentary 00:51:06.36\00:51:10.30 that we worked on. 00:51:10.33\00:51:11.67 And then we'd kind of branched that out from there. 00:51:11.70\00:51:13.64 And it was amazing how much spiritual themes 00:51:13.67\00:51:17.11 are even in popular video games. 00:51:17.14\00:51:19.81 That's amazing. 00:51:19.84\00:51:21.18 So taking in everything that we've been talking about, 00:51:21.21\00:51:24.51 it just kind of in the body of the work 00:51:24.55\00:51:26.15 that you guys have been doing. 00:51:26.18\00:51:27.72 So what are some of the results 00:51:27.75\00:51:29.08 that you have seen as these projects have come out? 00:51:29.12\00:51:31.32 People have watched them, 00:51:31.35\00:51:32.75 you're putting them in the hands of these 00:51:32.79\00:51:34.42 younger generation. 00:51:34.46\00:51:35.79 What's some of the results that you guys have seen 00:51:35.82\00:51:38.09 coming from that? 00:51:38.13\00:51:40.93 I mean, we've, we get emails and social media messages 00:51:40.96\00:51:45.83 and all kinds of stuff all the time from people 00:51:45.87\00:51:47.80 that tell us this information changed my life. 00:51:47.84\00:51:50.57 I met a family once they used to live in Florida 00:51:50.61\00:51:54.08 and they said, you know, 00:51:54.11\00:51:55.44 your ministry totally changed our family. 00:51:55.48\00:51:57.38 And we realized where they were living at 00:51:57.41\00:51:59.85 and Miami was not good 00:51:59.88\00:52:01.22 for their spiritual environment. 00:52:01.25\00:52:03.02 They decided to move. 00:52:03.05\00:52:04.82 They moved to Montana. 00:52:04.85\00:52:07.32 They are very happy people, 00:52:07.36\00:52:09.46 you know, they're not miserable Christians 00:52:09.49\00:52:11.19 'cause they're not drinking and all of this entertainment, 00:52:11.23\00:52:15.90 you know, stuff anymore. 00:52:15.93\00:52:17.27 So, yeah, we get all the time. 00:52:17.30\00:52:20.37 Every time we go out and speak there's people that are saying, 00:52:20.40\00:52:22.27 "Oh, I love your ministry. 00:52:22.30\00:52:23.64 It changed my life. 00:52:23.67\00:52:25.01 I study my Bible more. 00:52:25.04\00:52:26.37 I pray more. 00:52:26.41\00:52:27.74 I spend more time with my kids. 00:52:27.78\00:52:29.11 I spend more time outdoors." 00:52:29.14\00:52:30.48 So we have a lot of interesting 00:52:30.51\00:52:32.65 comments and feedback and even stories. 00:52:32.68\00:52:34.75 Kendi actually does a lot of the commenting on YouTube, 00:52:34.78\00:52:37.65 so she shares and sees a lot of what people are writing. 00:52:37.69\00:52:41.46 Yeah, I was going to add that. 00:52:41.49\00:52:42.82 It's not just Christians, all these different people, 00:52:42.86\00:52:45.13 atheists, Muslim and they come in 00:52:45.16\00:52:47.40 and, of course, they like the science and the comparisons 00:52:47.43\00:52:50.63 and things like that. 00:52:50.67\00:52:52.00 And they agree with that, 00:52:52.03\00:52:53.37 even though they disagree with us 00:52:53.40\00:52:54.74 on some spiritual concepts, 00:52:54.77\00:52:56.10 but as time progresses, 00:52:56.14\00:52:57.47 especially with the gospel 00:52:57.51\00:52:58.84 that is included in every documentary, 00:52:58.87\00:53:00.88 they start asking spiritual questions 00:53:00.91\00:53:02.48 and that just leads down the road to amazing stories. 00:53:02.51\00:53:06.35 So I think we have a little video clip 00:53:06.38\00:53:07.72 of our YouTube channel 00:53:07.75\00:53:09.12 because our work has kind of changed 00:53:09.15\00:53:11.05 from really making these long form documentaries. 00:53:11.09\00:53:14.12 They take a long time to produce. 00:53:14.16\00:53:16.16 And so as this younger generation 00:53:16.19\00:53:18.33 has this shorter and shorter attention span, 00:53:18.36\00:53:22.46 we really needed to keep content 00:53:22.50\00:53:24.83 in front of them and keep feeding them on a faster rate. 00:53:24.87\00:53:27.44 And that's why we chose to go on the YouTube. 00:53:27.47\00:53:29.20 So we'll play a little clip here from our YouTube show 00:53:29.24\00:53:32.47 and you can see kind of a little bit 00:53:32.51\00:53:33.84 of the set that we have and sort of 00:53:33.88\00:53:36.64 some of the topics that we talk about. 00:53:36.68\00:53:38.15 And then we'll show you in a real world example 00:53:38.18\00:53:40.62 of what came out of that. 00:53:40.65\00:53:42.22 Absolutely. Let's run that clip right now. 00:53:42.25\00:53:44.69 What's up everybody I'm Mikey, I'm Kendi, I'm Michelle, 00:53:44.72\00:53:48.16 I'm Keith, I'm Scotty and we are LED Live. 00:53:48.19\00:53:53.90 Light exposing darkness. 00:53:53.93\00:53:56.56 It's a show where we take a look at pop culture, 00:53:56.60\00:53:59.03 movies, music, video games, you name it. 00:53:59.07\00:54:01.87 We're going to discuss and look behind the scenes 00:54:01.90\00:54:04.07 of what's really going on 00:54:04.11\00:54:05.44 and filter it through the Bible. 00:54:05.47\00:54:07.48 Find us on our YouTube channel Little Light Studios. 00:54:07.51\00:54:11.88 That's awesome. 00:54:11.91\00:54:14.28 Man, less than 30 second little clip, 00:54:14.32\00:54:17.62 I just want to walk. I want to get into it man. 00:54:17.65\00:54:19.75 LED I love that light exposing darkness. 00:54:19.79\00:54:22.39 And so YouTube, 00:54:22.42\00:54:23.76 let's talk about that just a little bit more 00:54:23.79\00:54:25.13 because you're, that's one of the major avenues 00:54:25.16\00:54:27.86 you're using to reach a lot of people. 00:54:27.90\00:54:29.60 It's YouTube, right? 00:54:29.63\00:54:30.97 We live in the age of YouTube 00:54:31.00\00:54:32.33 and it seems like so many people are going to YouTube. 00:54:32.37\00:54:35.10 I personally don't spend a lot of time on YouTube, 00:54:35.14\00:54:37.41 but I have friends, family members 00:54:37.44\00:54:39.37 that'll just literally sit 00:54:39.41\00:54:40.74 on there for hour upon hour upon hour 00:54:40.78\00:54:42.64 just looking at one video right after another. 00:54:42.68\00:54:45.28 So what have been some of your positive results 00:54:45.31\00:54:47.38 from the YouTube? 00:54:47.42\00:54:48.75 Oh, yeah, I mean, this church has such a wealth of truth, 00:54:48.78\00:54:51.89 but sometimes see people may not know how to communicate it. 00:54:51.92\00:54:55.39 So that's kind of what the show is seeking to achieve, 00:54:55.42\00:54:58.09 how to address pop culture, the different things 00:54:58.13\00:55:00.43 that are happening in this world. 00:55:00.46\00:55:02.26 Funnel it through the lens of the Bible 00:55:02.30\00:55:03.80 and just really introduce it to people of all ages. 00:55:03.83\00:55:06.74 So it's a little bit of the show. 00:55:06.77\00:55:08.80 The neat thing about YouTube 00:55:08.84\00:55:10.27 is you have this ability to communicate 00:55:10.31\00:55:12.51 with your audience really fast. 00:55:12.54\00:55:14.24 I mean, if we put something out, 00:55:14.28\00:55:15.94 somebody can respond within minutes. 00:55:15.98\00:55:18.05 I mean, it'll tell you right there two 00:55:18.08\00:55:19.41 minutes ago, somebody just asked you a question. 00:55:19.45\00:55:21.45 And we all get kind of pinged on our phones. 00:55:21.48\00:55:23.35 And so, you know, who's ever available 00:55:23.39\00:55:24.95 can just jump in there. 00:55:24.99\00:55:26.32 And some of the questions are really, 00:55:26.35\00:55:27.92 you know, like, hey, you mentioned that, 00:55:27.96\00:55:30.13 you know, you said this about the state of the dead. 00:55:30.16\00:55:31.79 Where did you get that from? 00:55:31.83\00:55:33.16 And we can say, hey, go look this verse up 00:55:33.19\00:55:34.60 or watch this video. 00:55:34.63\00:55:36.03 And you have this discipleship opportunity 00:55:36.06\00:55:38.87 that you get a chance to engage with them. 00:55:38.90\00:55:41.37 You can see who's really searching 00:55:41.40\00:55:43.24 and then lead them down a path 00:55:43.27\00:55:45.14 to maybe a different ministry 00:55:45.17\00:55:46.57 or a different piece of information. 00:55:46.61\00:55:48.48 And so to me, I think this is an exciting time. 00:55:48.51\00:55:51.65 I mean, people from around the world 00:55:51.68\00:55:53.92 are able to tune in and watch and engage real fast. 00:55:53.95\00:55:57.05 I mean, you guys have this opportunity as well, 00:55:57.09\00:55:59.82 but not everybody has the same opportunity that you guys have. 00:55:59.85\00:56:04.46 So what this did was really 00:56:04.49\00:56:06.16 put the tools in the common person's hand 00:56:06.19\00:56:08.86 and allowed us to be able to really have a voice out 00:56:08.90\00:56:11.77 there in the world. 00:56:11.80\00:56:13.13 That's amazing. 00:56:13.17\00:56:15.14 We're here with Little Light Studios, 00:56:15.17\00:56:16.71 if you're just now joining us, we're not through yet. 00:56:16.74\00:56:19.47 We're just, we're actually about to come 00:56:19.51\00:56:21.44 really quickly to an end of our, just our first hour. 00:56:21.48\00:56:24.48 We have another second hour coming up 00:56:24.51\00:56:26.21 in just a little while, 00:56:26.25\00:56:27.58 but I want to tell you, you guys, 00:56:27.62\00:56:29.22 if you have questions for these guys, 00:56:29.25\00:56:30.59 I already have a list here 00:56:30.62\00:56:31.95 and I'm going to be reading off here, 00:56:31.99\00:56:33.32 coming into our second hour. 00:56:33.36\00:56:34.96 We have some questions for you guys coming up, 00:56:34.99\00:56:36.96 but you may be at home right now 00:56:36.99\00:56:38.33 and wondering how you can send in your questions. 00:56:38.36\00:56:40.96 You might have, you might be a parent 00:56:41.00\00:56:42.33 and you have questions 00:56:42.36\00:56:43.70 about how to reach your young one or whatever it is. 00:56:43.73\00:56:45.67 Maybe you're struggling with something 00:56:45.70\00:56:47.10 and you might have some questions pertaining 00:56:47.14\00:56:48.54 to the ministry of Little Light Studios 00:56:48.57\00:56:51.11 and how they can help you, 00:56:51.14\00:56:52.47 or maybe how you can get in contact 00:56:52.51\00:56:54.11 with some of their content, 00:56:54.14\00:56:56.28 whatever questions you might have. 00:56:56.31\00:56:57.65 We want to put that on there right now. 00:56:57.68\00:56:59.01 Two ways, first by text, 00:56:59.05\00:57:00.52 that's (618) 228-3975. 00:57:00.55\00:57:04.42 (618) 228-3975. 00:57:04.45\00:57:07.02 Or you can email that's Live@3abn.tv, 00:57:07.06\00:57:11.86 Live@3abn.tv. 00:57:11.89\00:57:14.30 So send us in your questions. 00:57:14.33\00:57:16.77 Again, we're about 30 seconds 00:57:16.80\00:57:18.37 out from ending this first hour. 00:57:18.40\00:57:19.80 We're going to make a little bit of a switch 00:57:19.83\00:57:21.54 in people here. 00:57:21.57\00:57:22.90 We're going to come back in our second hour. 00:57:22.94\00:57:24.74 We're going to be with Little Light Studio, some more. 00:57:24.77\00:57:26.47 We're going to be diving deeper into some more time, 00:57:26.51\00:57:29.14 some more questions, getting into some future projects, 00:57:29.18\00:57:32.28 talking about what they're doing. 00:57:32.31\00:57:33.72 And so please, please don't go anywhere. 00:57:33.75\00:57:35.88 Stay with us. 00:57:35.92\00:57:37.25 There's a whole lot more that we have to discuss. 00:57:37.29\00:57:39.55 We're going to take a short break 00:57:39.59\00:57:41.12 and we'll be back in just a little bit. 00:57:41.16\00:57:43.89 See you in a little bit. 00:57:43.93\00:57:45.26
