It is. 00:02:02.68\00:02:04.02 Pastor, John, how we're going... 00:02:04.05\00:02:06.29 Thinking of a name for this, 00:02:06.32\00:02:07.66 how would you introduce this program tonight? 00:02:07.69\00:02:09.19 Well, the big question 00:02:09.22\00:02:10.79 I would ask everyone watching and listening 00:02:10.83\00:02:12.63 is how do we know that sin exists? 00:02:12.66\00:02:16.87 That's the big question tonight. 00:02:16.90\00:02:18.23 How do we know that sin exists? 00:02:18.27\00:02:20.14 Because in a world today, 00:02:20.17\00:02:21.90 where so many things that 00:02:21.94\00:02:23.91 used to be wrong are now right, 00:02:23.94\00:02:26.17 things that used to be right are now being defined as wrong. 00:02:26.21\00:02:29.41 Things that God created are being rejected, 00:02:29.44\00:02:32.05 and things that God didn't create 00:02:32.08\00:02:33.72 are being embraced. 00:02:33.75\00:02:35.72 The lines are not black and white any longer, 00:02:35.75\00:02:37.72 they are becoming grey, 00:02:37.75\00:02:39.22 and we are descending into a corrupt society 00:02:39.25\00:02:43.73 that people are saying, 00:02:43.76\00:02:45.09 "Well, how do you know it's corrupt? 00:02:45.13\00:02:46.46 Why is my opinion not as good as your opinion? 00:02:46.49\00:02:49.90 And when does it cease to be an opinion? 00:02:49.93\00:02:52.23 Are there any guidelines? 00:02:52.27\00:02:54.44 Or do we just all decide 00:02:54.47\00:02:55.87 what's right and what's wrong? 00:02:55.90\00:02:57.24 So when we ask the question, 00:02:57.27\00:02:58.61 how do we know that sin exists? 00:02:58.64\00:03:00.28 You've got to come to some standard 00:03:00.31\00:03:02.34 so that I can say, 00:03:02.38\00:03:03.71 "Well, you're going north when you should be going south, 00:03:03.75\00:03:05.95 or you're going south 00:03:05.98\00:03:07.32 when you should be going north." 00:03:07.35\00:03:08.88 So the very same laws we live by 00:03:08.92\00:03:11.05 when it comes to traffic, 00:03:11.09\00:03:12.92 are there any laws that we live by 00:03:12.95\00:03:14.42 when it comes to our moral society? 00:03:14.46\00:03:16.69 Amen. 00:03:16.73\00:03:18.06 In paying taxes and whatever. 00:03:18.09\00:03:19.73 Yeah, we do that for sure. 00:03:19.76\00:03:21.70 This is going to be a great program 00:03:21.73\00:03:23.06 because when you... 00:03:23.10\00:03:24.67 Who would have thought even, 00:03:24.70\00:03:26.33 I'd say 10 or 15 years ago, 00:03:26.37\00:03:28.07 it'd be necessary to have a program defining sin 00:03:28.10\00:03:31.71 because almost everybody, 00:03:31.74\00:03:33.07 this is sin, that sin and... 00:03:33.11\00:03:35.04 But today, it's almost as you said, 00:03:35.08\00:03:38.58 everybody has their own opinion. 00:03:38.61\00:03:40.62 Well, this is not sin or that's sin, 00:03:40.65\00:03:42.75 and usually it's sin if it's not us, you know. 00:03:42.78\00:03:45.49 What somebody else's doing sin, what we do, 00:03:45.52\00:03:47.89 well, we have a right 00:03:47.92\00:03:49.26 for whatever, we make excuses for. 00:03:49.29\00:03:50.96 So we want to give you a thus saith the Lord tonight. 00:03:50.99\00:03:53.93 We're going to go back and find out 00:03:53.96\00:03:55.53 what first define what sin is 00:03:55.56\00:03:58.10 and then hopefully 00:03:58.13\00:04:00.04 each and every one of us, the time this program is over, 00:04:00.07\00:04:02.97 we will see the importance of the law of God. 00:04:03.00\00:04:06.04 And because without God's law, 00:04:06.07\00:04:09.54 I mean, there's no sin and there's no love. 00:04:09.58\00:04:12.51 God set up a law for us to live by, 00:04:12.55\00:04:15.28 it's the law of love. 00:04:15.32\00:04:16.65 That's what I like to say 00:04:16.69\00:04:18.02 because it's a way that if we follow this roadmap, 00:04:18.05\00:04:20.82 He's promised us eternal life. 00:04:20.86\00:04:22.76 Yes. That's absolutely amazing. 00:04:22.79\00:04:25.09 It's so protective, you know, 00:04:25.13\00:04:26.80 I talk to people sometimes and there's this trend now, 00:04:26.83\00:04:31.30 that's happening, 00:04:31.33\00:04:32.67 people are going toward atheism a lot in society. 00:04:32.70\00:04:35.37 In American society 00:04:35.40\00:04:36.84 there is this trend toward atheism, 00:04:36.87\00:04:38.74 where I have my truth, you have your truth, 00:04:38.77\00:04:41.58 I'm not going to judge you, you know, and all that. 00:04:41.61\00:04:44.18 And it's like, what is... 00:04:44.21\00:04:46.61 There has to be a standard, everybody can't be right. 00:04:46.65\00:04:50.75 There has to be some standard 00:04:50.79\00:04:53.36 against which we can be judged. 00:04:53.39\00:04:56.29 And so this program, 00:04:56.32\00:04:58.09 I think, is going to be very enlightening. 00:04:58.13\00:04:59.59 All right, great. 00:04:59.63\00:05:00.96 Well, I know our folks love music. 00:05:01.00\00:05:02.73 And we have some musicians and singers here. 00:05:02.76\00:05:04.80 Yes, we do. 00:05:04.83\00:05:06.17 But tonight we're blessed, we have Jaime Jorge, 00:05:06.20\00:05:09.34 and he's going to be doing a medley for us. 00:05:09.37\00:05:11.81 Amen. What a great way to start a program, huh? 00:09:06.94\00:09:09.64 That gave me chills. 00:09:09.68\00:09:11.01 We have to get a little water and throw on the strings, 00:09:11.05\00:09:13.21 make sure they don't burn out. 00:09:13.25\00:09:14.58 It was sizzling. Yeah. 00:09:14.62\00:09:17.29 He gives his all, doesn't he? He does. 00:09:17.32\00:09:18.95 My Dad used to say "Whatever you do, 00:09:18.99\00:09:20.42 boys do it with all your might, remember that? 00:09:20.46\00:09:22.79 So that's what Jaime does when he plays. 00:09:22.82\00:09:24.59 So thank you so much, Jaime, we appreciate it. 00:09:24.63\00:09:26.93 All hail the power of Jesus name, 00:09:26.96\00:09:29.23 I mean, great way to start giving honor and glory 00:09:29.26\00:09:32.53 and praise to the Lord. 00:09:32.57\00:09:33.90 What I'd like to do... 00:09:33.94\00:09:35.27 We had a prayer earlier, but I think for our viewers, 00:09:35.30\00:09:37.44 tonight's such an important topic 00:09:37.47\00:09:39.47 that we want to start out with a prayer. 00:09:39.51\00:09:41.14 I'm going to ask Brother Kenny, if you would just... 00:09:41.18\00:09:43.18 We're just going to maybe join hands 00:09:43.21\00:09:44.65 with the one next to you there 00:09:44.68\00:09:46.01 and let's just those of you at home, 00:09:46.05\00:09:47.98 if you're with someone join hands, 00:09:48.02\00:09:49.98 if you're not reach out and join hands with us on this, 00:09:50.02\00:09:53.52 but we want to go to the Lord in prayer. 00:09:53.56\00:09:55.42 We want truth tonight. 00:09:55.46\00:09:57.13 And we want Jesus to shine, 00:09:57.16\00:09:59.06 not what we have say but we want to hear 00:09:59.09\00:10:00.93 what the Word of God has to say 00:10:00.96\00:10:02.80 on this very important topic of the law of God, 00:10:02.83\00:10:07.10 sin, the Ten Commandments. 00:10:07.14\00:10:09.10 And, Lord, You have your way. 00:10:09.14\00:10:11.21 Amen. All right, let's pray. 00:10:11.24\00:10:13.24 Loving Father in heaven, truly, 00:10:13.27\00:10:14.61 it's a privilege to come before Thee. 00:10:14.64\00:10:16.64 Lord, we come in the name of Jesus, 00:10:16.68\00:10:18.21 our Lord and our Savior, 00:10:18.25\00:10:19.58 we uplift Jesus Christ, 00:10:19.61\00:10:21.45 we uplift the cross of Calvary. 00:10:21.48\00:10:23.18 We're thankful for that blood that flows so freely, 00:10:23.22\00:10:25.75 that we may have eternal life and forgiveness of sin. 00:10:25.79\00:10:28.76 Lord, tonight you know that we need Your help. 00:10:28.79\00:10:31.06 We need the power of Thy Holy Spirit. 00:10:31.09\00:10:33.19 We pray as Thy Spirit now descends upon 00:10:33.23\00:10:35.23 each and every one of us, 00:10:35.26\00:10:36.60 our hearts, our minds will be open. 00:10:36.63\00:10:38.33 We may hear heaven speak, 00:10:38.37\00:10:40.27 and then we may take those words 00:10:40.30\00:10:41.77 and we read them from the Word of God. 00:10:41.80\00:10:43.61 And people can certainly say 00:10:43.64\00:10:44.97 "Oh, it's been good 00:10:45.01\00:10:46.34 to be in the house of the Lord together. 00:10:46.37\00:10:47.94 "And so, Father, we pray in a very special way now 00:10:47.98\00:10:50.15 that not our will, but Thine be done, 00:10:50.18\00:10:52.35 open up the avenues, open up the ears, the hearts 00:10:52.38\00:10:54.68 and the minds of Your children 00:10:54.72\00:10:56.05 everywhere around the world. 00:10:56.08\00:10:57.42 May they be receptive, 00:10:57.45\00:10:58.79 may they want to know what truth is, 00:10:58.82\00:11:00.69 may they be asking the questions 00:11:00.72\00:11:02.32 even right now. 00:11:02.36\00:11:03.69 May they be answered by the power of the Holy Spirit 00:11:03.73\00:11:05.69 which we thank you for, in Jesus name, amen. 00:11:05.73\00:11:08.50 Amen. Amen. 00:11:08.53\00:11:10.00 Maybe we should start out. 00:11:10.03\00:11:11.90 I'm glad we got a bunch of Bible scholars here 00:11:11.93\00:11:14.07 'cause we can just ask anything we want, 00:11:14.10\00:11:15.97 we know they're gonna come up with it. 00:11:16.00\00:11:17.64 But let's start out about sin, 00:11:17.67\00:11:20.24 what sin is, 00:11:20.28\00:11:21.78 and when did it begin? 00:11:21.81\00:11:23.65 Maybe if y'all want to jump in. 00:11:23.68\00:11:26.45 I'll jump in here and I know that Pastor Lomacang 00:11:26.48\00:11:29.18 and Pastor Kenny and Shelley 00:11:29.22\00:11:30.59 and you guys are gonna add to this really well. 00:11:30.62\00:11:33.19 I just want to kind of start at the origin, okay, 00:11:33.22\00:11:35.76 where did sin, this sin began. 00:11:35.79\00:11:38.86 I think of Ezekiel Chapter 28, 00:11:38.89\00:11:40.50 it's probably a great place to start, 00:11:40.53\00:11:43.00 because it kind of points us to the origin 00:11:43.03\00:11:46.43 back in eternity past 00:11:46.47\00:11:48.44 before there really wasn't a heaven 00:11:48.47\00:11:49.97 or an earth, or an Adam or an Eve, 00:11:50.01\00:11:51.81 a world that had been created at this point. 00:11:51.84\00:11:54.44 Ezekiel 28:14, 00:11:54.48\00:11:57.05 this is God addressing 00:11:57.08\00:11:59.41 one of His highest angels 00:11:59.45\00:12:01.92 at the particular time, 00:12:01.95\00:12:03.28 of course we know this angel to be Lucifer 00:12:03.32\00:12:04.95 and this particular scene is not yet on earth, okay? 00:12:04.99\00:12:08.66 This is still in the heavenly courts above. 00:12:08.69\00:12:11.19 And so Isaiah, excuse me, 00:12:11.23\00:12:12.56 Ezekiel Chapter 28, 00:12:12.59\00:12:13.93 I'm going to begin with verse 14. 00:12:13.96\00:12:16.26 Notice the Bible says and then we'll go, 00:12:16.30\00:12:17.67 and this is God speaking to Lucifer, 00:12:17.70\00:12:20.64 whom He is going to call a covering cherub. 00:12:20.67\00:12:23.14 He says, "You were the anointed cherub who covers, 00:12:23.17\00:12:26.27 I established you." 00:12:26.31\00:12:27.64 So right there, that's sanctuary language 00:12:27.68\00:12:29.64 we're talking about. 00:12:29.68\00:12:31.01 Lucifer was one of two covering cherubs 00:12:31.05\00:12:33.48 right in the midst of the very throne of God. 00:12:33.52\00:12:35.78 He was one of the closer beings to the throne of God 00:12:35.82\00:12:38.55 in the heavenly courts above. 00:12:38.59\00:12:40.46 He says, "I established you." 00:12:40.49\00:12:42.06 And I want to pause there and just clear the air, 00:12:42.09\00:12:44.99 many people want to automatically say, 00:12:45.03\00:12:46.36 "Well, God created a devil." 00:12:46.39\00:12:48.50 We know that God did not create a devil, 00:12:48.53\00:12:50.10 He created a beautiful angel of light. 00:12:50.13\00:12:52.07 That's right. His name was Lucifer. 00:12:52.10\00:12:53.44 That's right. 00:12:53.47\00:12:54.80 And, of course, Lucifer would become a devil 00:12:54.84\00:12:56.17 because of this sin 00:12:56.20\00:12:57.54 that we're talking about tonight. 00:12:57.57\00:12:59.14 He goes on to say, "You were on the holy mountain of God, 00:12:59.17\00:13:02.14 you walked back and forth 00:13:02.18\00:13:03.51 in the midst of the fiery stones." 00:13:03.55\00:13:05.05 Notice this, notice verse 15, this is key, 00:13:05.08\00:13:07.45 "You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, 00:13:07.48\00:13:10.95 till iniquity was found in you." 00:13:10.99\00:13:14.29 And I usually ask people, you know, 00:13:14.32\00:13:16.02 "What made Lucifer perfect in the eyes of God?" 00:13:16.06\00:13:19.16 Well, the answer is given 00:13:19.19\00:13:20.53 I think implied in this particular text. 00:13:20.56\00:13:22.46 What made him perfect is that at one point, 00:13:22.50\00:13:24.70 he was without sin. 00:13:24.73\00:13:26.37 But, of course, he was perfect until, 00:13:26.40\00:13:28.24 as the text says, 00:13:28.27\00:13:29.60 "Until iniquity was found in you." 00:13:29.64\00:13:31.31 Now the word iniquity here simply another word for sin. 00:13:31.34\00:13:35.31 Another text that comes to my mind is prophetically 00:13:35.34\00:13:39.01 so notice we just started in the beginning, 00:13:39.05\00:13:41.42 now I want to kind of take us down to the end, future, 00:13:41.45\00:13:44.59 Christ is speaking prophetically 00:13:44.62\00:13:46.15 in Matthew 24:12, 00:13:46.19\00:13:49.26 speaking of the end time, speaking of the last days 00:13:49.29\00:13:52.56 before He would return to the earth, 00:13:52.59\00:13:54.50 He says, "And because..." 00:13:54.53\00:13:56.30 And I'm reading from the New King James Version here, 00:13:56.33\00:13:59.50 it says "And because lawlessness 00:13:59.53\00:14:01.87 will abound, 00:14:01.90\00:14:03.27 the love of many will grow cold." 00:14:03.30\00:14:06.21 Now if you read the King James Version, 00:14:06.24\00:14:08.04 that word iniquity that we just read in Ezekiel 28 00:14:08.08\00:14:11.11 and the Septuagint, same word, 00:14:11.15\00:14:13.31 iniquity, lawlessness, 00:14:13.35\00:14:15.55 it's a correlation there 00:14:15.58\00:14:16.92 because iniquity is lawlessness. 00:14:16.95\00:14:19.35 Now why would I launch us 00:14:19.39\00:14:20.72 in to a talk about being lawless? 00:14:20.76\00:14:24.23 You go over to 1 John 3:4. 00:14:24.26\00:14:28.00 1 John 3:4, 00:14:28.03\00:14:30.47 notice what the Bible tells us. 00:14:30.50\00:14:32.47 This is one of those popular texts, in fact, 00:14:32.50\00:14:34.30 1 John 3 00:14:34.34\00:14:35.94 is one of those texts that you very rarely 00:14:35.97\00:14:37.77 ever hear a pastor preach on, 00:14:37.81\00:14:39.91 because it is addressing the seriousness 00:14:39.94\00:14:42.01 of this little three red letter word 00:14:42.04\00:14:43.61 that we call sin. 00:14:43.65\00:14:45.61 1 John 3:4, notice what the Bible says, 00:14:45.65\00:14:48.38 "Whoever commits sin also commits..." 00:14:48.42\00:14:50.85 There's that word, lawlessness, 00:14:50.89\00:14:53.52 "And sin is lawlessness." 00:14:53.56\00:14:56.69 And of course, the King James Version, 00:14:56.73\00:14:58.36 I just read from the New King James, 00:14:58.39\00:15:00.00 King James Version is simply going to address that 00:15:00.03\00:15:02.73 as transgressing the law of God. 00:15:02.76\00:15:06.53 So the question is, you know, does sin exists? 00:15:06.57\00:15:09.17 We know it exists. 00:15:09.20\00:15:10.54 Where was its origin? How did it come about? 00:15:10.57\00:15:12.91 And what is sin? 00:15:12.94\00:15:14.58 I'm gonna let these brothers unpack it now. 00:15:14.61\00:15:16.48 Okay, all right. 00:15:16.51\00:15:18.05 There's one quick text here if you don't mind, 00:15:18.08\00:15:20.28 It's in Luke 19:10 00:15:20.32\00:15:22.75 which establishes what we are talking about here, 00:15:22.78\00:15:25.59 you know, why did Jesus come here? 00:15:25.62\00:15:26.96 Right. 00:15:26.99\00:15:28.32 What was the purpose of the cross? 00:15:28.36\00:15:29.69 What was the purpose of His life? 00:15:29.72\00:15:31.06 And Luke 19:10 said, 00:15:31.09\00:15:32.43 "For the Son of man came to seek 00:15:32.46\00:15:34.76 and to save that which," was what? 00:15:34.80\00:15:38.10 "That which was lost." 00:15:38.13\00:15:39.47 Seek and save that which was lost. 00:15:39.50\00:15:40.84 So there, you have a sin issue, 00:15:40.87\00:15:43.57 we're challenged by that. 00:15:43.61\00:15:44.94 God must give us something 00:15:44.97\00:15:46.31 so we can understand what sin is. 00:15:46.34\00:15:48.08 Sin is the transgression of the law. 00:15:48.11\00:15:49.44 Must give us something 00:15:49.48\00:15:50.81 that we can look at to define 00:15:50.85\00:15:52.85 that which is good and that which is evil. 00:15:52.88\00:15:55.28 But He came here for a reason, 00:15:55.32\00:15:57.55 to seek and to save that which was lost. 00:15:57.59\00:15:59.59 So somehow the other man got off the track 00:15:59.62\00:16:02.59 and he sinned, he fell short. 00:16:02.62\00:16:04.89 And Jesus said, "I'm going to come 00:16:04.93\00:16:06.29 and to win them back." 00:16:06.33\00:16:07.66 Praise God for that, for the cross of Calvary. 00:16:07.70\00:16:10.13 You know what thought occurred to me 00:16:10.17\00:16:11.57 when you said why did sin exist, 00:16:11.60\00:16:14.84 is what James says, 00:16:14.87\00:16:17.07 this little passage in James Chapter 1 00:16:17.11\00:16:19.81 is the science of sin. 00:16:19.84\00:16:22.74 Listen to this, what he says, 00:16:22.78\00:16:24.61 I'll begin in James 1:13, 00:16:24.65\00:16:28.75 "Let no one say when he is tempted, 00:16:28.78\00:16:31.65 I am tempted by God, 00:16:31.69\00:16:33.39 for God cannot be tempted by evil, 00:16:33.42\00:16:35.99 nor does He himself tempt anyone, 00:16:36.02\00:16:39.43 but each one is tempted, 00:16:39.46\00:16:42.00 when he is drawn away," by what? 00:16:42.03\00:16:44.93 "His own desires, and enticed. 00:16:44.97\00:16:48.67 Then when desire has conceived..." 00:16:48.70\00:16:51.07 So you can see now, this is, 00:16:51.11\00:16:52.87 here we're going down this road, 00:16:52.91\00:16:55.24 "When desire has conceived, 00:16:55.28\00:16:57.85 it gives birth to sin, and sin, 00:16:57.88\00:17:01.62 when it is full grown, 00:17:01.65\00:17:03.89 gives birth or brings forth death." 00:17:03.92\00:17:08.09 So we can see that 00:17:08.12\00:17:11.39 what sin is, is selfishness, 00:17:11.43\00:17:14.10 which is just the opposite of who God is, 00:17:14.13\00:17:17.30 because God is self giving, 00:17:17.33\00:17:21.97 self sacrificing love. 00:17:22.00\00:17:24.57 And the interesting thing is 00:17:24.61\00:17:26.44 when it brings forth death, 00:17:26.47\00:17:28.78 that means that sin had to be imputed, right? 00:17:28.81\00:17:31.68 Roman 5:13 says, 00:17:31.71\00:17:34.32 Paul says, or let me begin with verse 12, 00:17:34.35\00:17:37.99 it says, "Therefore just as through one man 00:17:38.02\00:17:40.46 sin entered the world..." 00:17:40.49\00:17:41.99 We know that the devil tempted Adam and Eve. 00:17:42.02\00:17:44.86 "Death through sin, 00:17:44.89\00:17:47.73 and thus sin spread to all men, 00:17:47.76\00:17:50.17 because all sinned." 00:17:50.20\00:17:52.33 And then parenthetically, he says, 00:17:52.37\00:17:54.80 "For until the law was in the world..." 00:17:54.84\00:17:59.54 "Until the law, sin was in the world, 00:17:59.57\00:18:02.18 but sin is not imputed 00:18:02.21\00:18:04.91 where there is no law." 00:18:04.95\00:18:06.95 So without the law, there can't be any sin. 00:18:06.98\00:18:10.25 Absolutely. Yes. 00:18:10.29\00:18:11.75 I wanna come at from a completely 00:18:11.79\00:18:13.19 different angle, 00:18:13.22\00:18:14.56 because there's somebody watching the program 00:18:14.59\00:18:16.02 that might say, "I appreciate your Bible text, 00:18:16.06\00:18:18.33 but I'm not even a Christian." 00:18:18.36\00:18:20.20 Matter of fact, they might even be an atheist, 00:18:20.23\00:18:22.93 they might not even believe in God at all, 00:18:22.96\00:18:25.03 they may have never mentioned the name Jesus. 00:18:25.07\00:18:27.37 But there is something that... 00:18:27.40\00:18:28.74 If that's in fact the case, if you're driving or listening 00:18:28.77\00:18:30.87 and you might say, 00:18:30.91\00:18:32.24 "There are those Christians go again, 00:18:32.27\00:18:33.61 talking about the Bible text, 00:18:33.64\00:18:34.98 and I don't even believe in Bible, 00:18:35.01\00:18:36.34 I don't even owe one, 00:18:36.38\00:18:37.71 I don't believe in Jesus, never have. 00:18:37.75\00:18:39.45 But there's something about you that's true, 00:18:39.48\00:18:42.65 about all of us. 00:18:42.68\00:18:44.25 I'm sure if you're listening to the program 00:18:44.29\00:18:45.62 or watching that, 00:18:45.65\00:18:46.99 in your family somebody has died. 00:18:47.02\00:18:49.46 In every family somebody has died 00:18:49.49\00:18:51.36 and the question is, why? 00:18:51.39\00:18:53.16 We cannot deny the fact that all around the planet 00:18:53.19\00:18:55.30 that there is murder everywhere. 00:18:55.33\00:18:57.47 There's crime everywhere, 00:18:57.50\00:18:59.63 there's theft, there's adultery, 00:18:59.67\00:19:01.30 there's violence, there's robbery. 00:19:01.34\00:19:03.61 And that's just to name a few crimes, 00:19:03.64\00:19:06.47 and all of a sudden in our society today, 00:19:06.51\00:19:08.81 something is happening in our world today 00:19:08.84\00:19:10.78 that didn't happen 20 or 30 years ago. 00:19:10.81\00:19:13.52 And crimes are being redefined 00:19:13.55\00:19:16.32 and things that we thought 00:19:16.35\00:19:17.69 had a clear black and white meaning 00:19:17.72\00:19:20.02 are all of a sudden becoming gray. 00:19:20.06\00:19:22.79 For example, marriage, Danny, 00:19:22.82\00:19:24.86 the Bible, those of us who believe in the Bible, 00:19:24.89\00:19:26.76 the Bible described marriage is between a man and a woman. 00:19:26.80\00:19:29.40 It's been redefined today. 00:19:29.43\00:19:31.03 Why is it being redefined? Watch this. 00:19:31.07\00:19:33.64 Why does it need to be redefined 00:19:33.67\00:19:36.10 if there is no definition for it? 00:19:36.14\00:19:37.74 Okay. 00:19:37.77\00:19:39.11 There you go. Oh, it's good. 00:19:39.14\00:19:40.48 Why is marriage being redefined 00:19:40.51\00:19:42.04 if there is no definition for it? 00:19:42.08\00:19:44.15 There has to be a definition. 00:19:44.18\00:19:45.68 If there is a definition, 00:19:45.71\00:19:47.05 somebody had to give that definition. 00:19:47.08\00:19:48.42 That's right. 00:19:48.45\00:19:49.78 Somebody had to establish that standard. 00:19:49.82\00:19:51.65 Why is crime, crime? 00:19:51.69\00:19:54.52 Why are people in non-Christian countries 00:19:54.56\00:19:56.73 in jail? 00:19:56.76\00:19:58.09 What says in their society they've done something wrong? 00:19:58.13\00:20:00.73 For them to say this is wrong, 00:20:00.76\00:20:02.10 there has to be a standard 00:20:02.13\00:20:03.47 by which that action is described as wrong 00:20:03.50\00:20:05.60 or determined to be wrong. 00:20:05.63\00:20:07.20 So there has to be a right. 00:20:07.24\00:20:08.60 If there is a wrong, there is a right. 00:20:08.64\00:20:10.04 In America there are prisons abounding. 00:20:10.07\00:20:12.87 Illinois is a state that's prolific in prisons. 00:20:12.91\00:20:16.18 We have a wonderful prison ministry. 00:20:16.21\00:20:17.55 But here's a point, we're gonna go back to this, 00:20:17.58\00:20:18.95 we're gonna take baby steps back. 00:20:18.98\00:20:20.38 We're gonna start with the crime, 00:20:20.42\00:20:22.52 with the death, with the murder, 00:20:22.55\00:20:23.89 with the robbery, 00:20:23.92\00:20:25.25 with the thing that everybody knows is wrong 00:20:25.29\00:20:26.69 and everyone watching or listing to the program 00:20:26.72\00:20:29.02 has experienced the loss of some loved one. 00:20:29.06\00:20:32.73 Why do people even die? 00:20:32.76\00:20:35.43 Well, now let me give you my definition. 00:20:35.46\00:20:37.27 And if you have one that's different from this, 00:20:37.30\00:20:39.90 we welcome your response. 00:20:39.93\00:20:41.77 But everyone dies 00:20:41.80\00:20:44.07 because as Ryan and Shelley 00:20:44.11\00:20:46.17 and Pastor Kenny made it so clear, 00:20:46.21\00:20:48.74 something had to cause death. 00:20:48.78\00:20:51.28 And the third law of Newton which is... 00:20:51.31\00:20:54.95 It says here, "For every action 00:20:54.98\00:20:57.15 there is an equal and opposite reaction." 00:20:57.19\00:20:59.32 Well that was true before Newton, 00:20:59.35\00:21:01.26 he just put it in a definition. 00:21:01.29\00:21:02.62 He put it in a formula. Right. 00:21:02.66\00:21:04.03 For every action there is an equal 00:21:04.06\00:21:05.49 and opposite reaction. 00:21:05.53\00:21:06.93 So what causes death? 00:21:06.96\00:21:08.36 Something has to cause it. 00:21:08.40\00:21:10.17 What causes, what makes an action 00:21:10.20\00:21:13.17 being defined as wrong? 00:21:13.20\00:21:15.27 Something has to categorize as wrong. 00:21:15.30\00:21:17.77 So here's my point. There has to be a standard. 00:21:17.81\00:21:21.54 So whether you are a Christian or not, 00:21:21.58\00:21:23.78 there has to be a standard. 00:21:23.81\00:21:25.85 Whether Jesus is that standard or not, 00:21:25.88\00:21:28.38 what happens in your country 00:21:28.42\00:21:30.25 or where you live happens in American. 00:21:30.29\00:21:32.52 Everybody dies, 00:21:32.55\00:21:34.09 everybody gets ill. 00:21:34.12\00:21:35.99 Everybody lives in a community 00:21:36.02\00:21:37.79 where some kind of crime has been committed. 00:21:37.83\00:21:40.70 And lets to make it very simple, 00:21:40.73\00:21:43.03 whether you are a driver or not, 00:21:43.06\00:21:46.33 there are laws that govern the way 00:21:46.37\00:21:47.77 we behave in traffic. 00:21:47.80\00:21:49.60 So let's begin... 00:21:49.64\00:21:50.97 There has to be a law giver 00:21:51.01\00:21:52.34 to make that law for the traffic, right? 00:21:52.37\00:21:54.04 Okay, so now let's go back. 00:21:54.08\00:21:55.64 Where there is no death, 00:21:55.68\00:21:58.51 there's nothing to cause it. 00:21:58.55\00:22:00.28 But the Bible says, "The wages of sin is death." 00:22:00.32\00:22:04.05 Okay, Roman 6:23. 00:22:04.09\00:22:06.49 Okay, where there is no death, what cause death? 00:22:06.52\00:22:09.46 Where there is no sin, there is no death. 00:22:09.49\00:22:13.29 The Bible says, "All have sinned 00:22:13.33\00:22:14.73 and fallen short of the glory. 00:22:14.76\00:22:16.10 The wage of sin is death." 00:22:16.13\00:22:17.83 So watch this, 00:22:17.87\00:22:19.23 no law, no sin, 00:22:19.27\00:22:22.60 no sin, no death. 00:22:22.64\00:22:24.97 So we have to come to the conclusion 00:22:25.01\00:22:27.08 that there is a law that categorizes everything 00:22:27.11\00:22:31.38 that I've just talked about, 00:22:31.41\00:22:32.75 murder, robbery, theft, adultery, violence, crime. 00:22:32.78\00:22:36.08 There has to be a law to define it, 00:22:36.12\00:22:37.89 so that what's experiencing, 00:22:37.92\00:22:39.65 what's an experience in your country 00:22:39.69\00:22:41.32 where Jesus may not have ever been mentioned 00:22:41.36\00:22:43.69 is also true in our country. 00:22:43.73\00:22:45.33 There has to be a standard 00:22:45.36\00:22:46.70 by which all these things happen to every one of us. 00:22:46.73\00:22:51.03 I'll let you guys loosen, 00:22:51.07\00:22:52.40 then I'll come back with some Bible text. 00:22:52.43\00:22:53.77 No, I just wanna kind of feed of what you were talking about, 00:22:53.80\00:22:57.71 I was... 00:22:57.74\00:22:59.07 We were talking a little bit before the program began 00:22:59.11\00:23:01.08 and I was describing 00:23:01.11\00:23:04.41 a Christian apologist by the name of Ravi Zacharias, 00:23:04.45\00:23:06.65 he's very popular Christian apologist. 00:23:06.68\00:23:09.25 And he tells a story, and you can actually 00:23:09.28\00:23:10.62 go on online to YouTube 00:23:10.65\00:23:12.45 and you can watch this video where he is engaged, 00:23:12.49\00:23:14.49 he goes all over the nation, all over the world 00:23:14.52\00:23:16.59 to these very sophisticated college campuses. 00:23:16.62\00:23:20.13 And, of course, thousands of students 00:23:20.16\00:23:21.86 and staff and people come 00:23:21.90\00:23:23.40 and they basically put him to the test, 00:23:23.43\00:23:25.70 they put his faith on a line 00:23:25.73\00:23:27.34 by asking him these difficult questions. 00:23:27.37\00:23:29.54 And so one young man steps up to the plate, 00:23:29.57\00:23:32.34 he steps up to the mike and says, 00:23:32.37\00:23:34.41 "You know what? 00:23:34.44\00:23:35.78 I'm a devout atheist, I don't really believe in God, 00:23:35.81\00:23:38.18 and one of the reason why, and here's my question. 00:23:38.21\00:23:41.48 He says, "Why would I wanna serve a God 00:23:41.52\00:23:43.52 that allow so much evil." 00:23:43.55\00:23:46.39 And, of course, 00:23:46.42\00:23:48.06 Ravi Zacharias kind of turns the tide of the debate 00:23:48.09\00:23:51.23 and he says, "I don't think that's really your question." 00:23:51.26\00:23:53.43 He says, "In fact, I think 00:23:53.46\00:23:54.80 you need to redefine your question 00:23:54.83\00:23:56.16 because the fact that you are acknowledging that 00:23:56.20\00:23:58.43 there is evil, 00:23:58.47\00:23:59.80 means that you also have to acknowledge 00:23:59.83\00:24:01.20 that there is good." 00:24:01.24\00:24:02.87 So there's good and there's evil, okay? 00:24:02.90\00:24:04.91 And I just have to pause for a moment. 00:24:04.94\00:24:06.44 I've ran into a lot of, 00:24:06.47\00:24:08.18 you know, gay, lesbians, 00:24:08.21\00:24:09.58 transgender people out there in the world 00:24:09.61\00:24:11.25 and not all of them, 00:24:11.28\00:24:12.61 but most of them are either agnostic or atheist. 00:24:12.65\00:24:15.78 And so they come with this approach that, 00:24:15.82\00:24:17.75 you know, that they believe that there's evil, 00:24:17.79\00:24:19.82 in fact they will call certain things evil. 00:24:19.85\00:24:21.19 The fact that you're trying to identify me as something 00:24:21.22\00:24:24.23 that I don't wanna be identified as, well, that evil, 00:24:24.26\00:24:26.63 you're being disrespectful of me. 00:24:26.66\00:24:29.06 The fact that, you know, they acknowledge of the fact 00:24:29.10\00:24:31.83 that people are being sold into slavery 00:24:31.87\00:24:33.70 or, you know, sex trafficking whatever, that stuff is evil. 00:24:33.74\00:24:36.97 And so back to the story, he says, 00:24:37.01\00:24:39.07 "The fact that you are acknowledging 00:24:39.11\00:24:40.44 that there's evil, 00:24:40.48\00:24:41.81 you're also acknowledging that there's good. 00:24:41.84\00:24:43.71 And if you're acknowledging 00:24:43.75\00:24:45.15 there's a difference between good and evil, 00:24:45.18\00:24:47.15 then you also have to acknowledge the fact 00:24:47.18\00:24:49.15 that there has to be a law that defines that which is good 00:24:49.18\00:24:51.95 and that which is evil." 00:24:51.99\00:24:53.32 And then he says, "Where there is a law, 00:24:53.36\00:24:55.29 there has to be a law giver." 00:24:55.32\00:24:57.96 Okay? 00:24:57.99\00:24:59.33 So right back to that question of law. 00:24:59.36\00:25:00.96 If there is law giver, 00:25:01.00\00:25:02.33 and he has a law and sin is the... 00:25:02.36\00:25:05.67 As 1 John 3:4, again this is the King James Version. 00:25:05.70\00:25:09.50 I read the new King James Version earlier. 00:25:09.54\00:25:11.51 The King James Version says in 1 John 3:4, 00:25:11.54\00:25:15.51 "Whosoever committed sin 00:25:15.54\00:25:18.98 transgresseth also the law..." 00:25:19.01\00:25:21.55 And it says here, 00:25:21.58\00:25:22.92 "For sin is the transgression of the law." 00:25:22.95\00:25:25.65 So perhaps maybe... 00:25:25.69\00:25:27.02 Transgression means what? 00:25:27.06\00:25:28.39 Transgression basically means that you're violating, 00:25:28.42\00:25:30.99 you go into a situation knowing 00:25:31.03\00:25:33.63 to do good and you do it not. 00:25:33.66\00:25:35.06 In other words James Chapter... 00:25:35.10\00:25:36.43 If I go at 80 and the policemen stops me, 00:25:36.46\00:25:39.10 speed limit is 70, I transgress? 00:25:39.13\00:25:41.30 You can't say, "Oh I didn't know." 00:25:41.34\00:25:42.67 You know, exactly. 00:25:42.70\00:25:44.04 All right, all right simple term, I broke the law. 00:25:44.07\00:25:46.37 So the principle of transgression 00:25:46.41\00:25:48.14 is clearly established in James 4:17 which is, 00:25:48.18\00:25:51.15 "He that knows to do good 00:25:51.18\00:25:52.51 and does it not, to him it is sin." 00:25:52.55\00:25:54.28 And so to transgress the law means you knew better, 00:25:54.32\00:25:56.62 but you're rebelling against that 00:25:56.65\00:25:58.49 which God has set in place. 00:25:58.52\00:26:00.39 And so that particular verse 00:26:00.42\00:26:02.52 there perhaps at no other point in the Bible is there a better, 00:26:02.56\00:26:05.96 more clear definition of sin than 1 John 3:4. 00:26:05.99\00:26:08.70 Brother Kenny... 00:26:08.73\00:26:10.07 Yeah, I mean that's good 00:26:10.10\00:26:11.43 because you're talking about good and evil. 00:26:11.47\00:26:12.80 Right. 00:26:12.83\00:26:14.17 I mean how far does that go back? 00:26:14.20\00:26:15.54 That goes back to the Garden of Eden. 00:26:15.57\00:26:16.91 Right. 00:26:16.94\00:26:18.27 The tree that was forbidden. 00:26:18.31\00:26:19.64 The tree of knowledge of good and what? 00:26:19.67\00:26:21.61 Good and evil. 00:26:21.64\00:26:22.98 It goes all the way back there, 00:26:23.01\00:26:24.35 so definitely there's going to be good, 00:26:24.38\00:26:25.71 there's going to be evil, their eyes were opened, 00:26:25.75\00:26:27.12 they know nothing but good, now evil's come on. 00:26:27.15\00:26:29.88 And the knowledge, 00:26:29.92\00:26:32.05 Romans 3:20, what? 00:26:32.09\00:26:33.82 The law has a function. 00:26:33.86\00:26:35.19 What is the function of the law? 00:26:35.22\00:26:38.76 Knowledge of sin. 00:26:38.79\00:26:40.13 So we have to have a knowledge, what is sin. 00:26:40.16\00:26:43.23 So God's given us something 00:26:43.26\00:26:44.60 to give us a knowledge of that which is good 00:26:44.63\00:26:47.77 or that which is not good for us to make it very simple. 00:26:47.80\00:26:50.91 He couldn't have made it anymore simple 00:26:50.94\00:26:52.27 than put 10 things down... 00:26:52.31\00:26:54.68 I forget how many several millions of laws 00:26:54.71\00:26:58.28 that are on the books 00:26:58.31\00:27:00.02 and still the country is out of control. 00:27:00.05\00:27:02.95 We're getting worst. 00:27:02.98\00:27:04.32 God just gave us a simple little ten. 00:27:04.35\00:27:07.22 But to me one of the reasons is, 00:27:07.26\00:27:08.99 if we look at scripture, 00:27:09.02\00:27:10.36 it talks about in Romans 8:7, 00:27:10.39\00:27:11.83 it talks about the carnal mind, you know, the carnal mind. 00:27:11.86\00:27:14.90 Before we know Jesus Christ, the carnal mind is what? 00:27:14.93\00:27:17.97 Is enmity in it, enmity against God, 00:27:18.00\00:27:20.30 for it is not subject to the law of God 00:27:20.34\00:27:23.67 and neither indeed can it be. 00:27:23.71\00:27:25.31 I thought how interesting that word subject, 00:27:25.34\00:27:28.04 it's not willing to submit itself. 00:27:28.08\00:27:29.68 That's right. 00:27:29.71\00:27:31.05 The carnal mind, for born again 00:27:31.08\00:27:33.05 we are not willing to submit it to Jesus Christ, 00:27:33.08\00:27:36.02 we're not willing to obey it. 00:27:36.05\00:27:37.95 But when Jesus comes into our hearts and our lives, 00:27:37.99\00:27:41.22 our attitude changes, 00:27:41.26\00:27:42.59 we're willing to be obedient to obey God. 00:27:42.62\00:27:45.49 And then, by this we look at it. 00:27:45.53\00:27:47.66 Now we know good and now we know evil. 00:27:47.70\00:27:51.27 I think Pastor John mentioned a while ago, 00:27:51.30\00:27:53.20 if we don't know those two, we're not accountable. 00:27:53.23\00:27:55.37 In the time of ignorance, God does what? 00:27:55.40\00:27:56.74 Winks. 00:27:56.77\00:27:58.11 He winks at it in time of ignorance. 00:27:58.14\00:27:59.47 Now I wonder how many of us can plead that case today 00:27:59.51\00:28:02.51 that we're ignorant of certain things, 00:28:02.54\00:28:04.55 you know, that sometime I think, 00:28:04.58\00:28:06.21 you know, we're growing 00:28:06.25\00:28:07.58 and we realize that God is revealing new truths to us. 00:28:07.62\00:28:10.45 But praise God, He is making it known, 00:28:10.49\00:28:12.22 these programs helps making it known of that 00:28:12.25\00:28:15.06 which is good and that which is evil, 00:28:15.09\00:28:17.23 so we can do the right thing, 00:28:17.26\00:28:19.33 so we can pray for the coming of Jesus. 00:28:19.36\00:28:20.86 Absolutely. Amen. 00:28:20.90\00:28:22.23 You said something in the beginning of the program 00:28:22.26\00:28:23.93 that was to me is really, really hit me. 00:28:23.97\00:28:26.80 You said, "Why did Christ die?" 00:28:26.84\00:28:30.47 He tried to take away the sins of the world. 00:28:30.51\00:28:34.74 Amen. Absolutely. 00:28:34.78\00:28:36.11 So the sin of the world. 00:28:36.14\00:28:37.48 So Christ came to take away the sin, 00:28:37.51\00:28:40.52 so sin is very important. So we can't write it off today. 00:28:40.55\00:28:44.09 People's like, "Well, it's really just in 00:28:44.12\00:28:46.29 how you feel." 00:28:46.32\00:28:47.66 In other words it's up to me individually, Shelley, 00:28:47.69\00:28:49.92 if I can do this if I choose 00:28:49.96\00:28:52.76 because I don't see anything wrong with it. 00:28:52.79\00:28:54.63 My conscience doesn't bother me. 00:28:54.66\00:28:56.63 That's not what, 00:28:56.67\00:28:58.00 Christ didn't die for our conscience, 00:28:58.03\00:28:59.37 what our conscience said, right? 00:28:59.40\00:29:01.37 He died to take away the sin. 00:29:01.40\00:29:03.00 Sin is what you all are saying, 00:29:03.04\00:29:05.57 the transgression or the breaking of the law. 00:29:05.61\00:29:07.71 Yes. 00:29:07.74\00:29:09.08 But we need to talk a little bit about 00:29:09.11\00:29:11.58 rebellion versus mistakes. 00:29:11.61\00:29:14.15 Other words, everybody in here, 00:29:14.18\00:29:15.72 we all have sinned. 00:29:15.75\00:29:17.09 The Bible says, "We all sinned 00:29:17.12\00:29:18.59 and come short of the glory of God." 00:29:18.62\00:29:19.95 If we leave it there, then we say, 00:29:19.99\00:29:22.02 the wages of sin is death. 00:29:22.06\00:29:23.39 No one would be saved. Right? 00:29:23.43\00:29:25.69 So can we talk a little bit about that? 00:29:25.73\00:29:28.93 Okay, John. 00:29:28.96\00:29:30.30 Well, I'm glad you brought that up 00:29:30.33\00:29:31.83 because what I mentioned a moment ago 00:29:31.87\00:29:34.40 was everybody dies. 00:29:34.44\00:29:36.30 But that's the bad news. 00:29:36.34\00:29:38.37 But Jesus came to take away that very thing 00:29:38.41\00:29:40.61 that will condemn us all to eternal death. 00:29:40.64\00:29:44.58 He would not have had to die if the law could be abandoned, 00:29:44.61\00:29:49.22 if the law could be removed He wouldn't have to die. 00:29:49.25\00:29:52.99 You know, case in point, let's use an example, 00:29:53.02\00:29:55.29 that's why many people today that, 00:29:55.32\00:29:56.93 I'll talk about the Christian population 00:29:56.96\00:29:58.36 that may be watching the program. 00:29:58.39\00:30:00.20 There are so many Christians say that, 00:30:00.23\00:30:01.56 "We're not under the law, but we're under grace." 00:30:01.60\00:30:03.06 I'm speaking of the Christian now, 00:30:03.10\00:30:04.43 "We're not under the law, but under grace." 00:30:04.47\00:30:06.07 Well, then why do you need grace 00:30:06.10\00:30:07.44 if there is no law? 00:30:07.47\00:30:08.80 That's right. You really wouldn't need it. 00:30:08.84\00:30:10.17 If the police officer, you used the example 00:30:10.21\00:30:11.54 a moment ago, if you drive 80 mile an hour 00:30:11.57\00:30:12.97 and you get pulled over 00:30:13.01\00:30:14.44 and the police officer says which happened to me before... 00:30:14.48\00:30:17.48 Well. 00:30:17.51\00:30:18.85 Going my way to New York City, 00:30:18.88\00:30:20.92 on my way to New York City in 2006. 00:30:20.95\00:30:22.95 Yeah, which time? 00:30:22.98\00:30:25.22 I could tell you, in 2006 00:30:25.25\00:30:27.69 I was on my way to New York City, 00:30:27.72\00:30:29.06 my dad had passed away. 00:30:29.09\00:30:30.43 My wife and I were going to clear out 00:30:30.46\00:30:31.79 his apartment in New York. 00:30:31.83\00:30:33.16 And I was going through Indiana that was before I bought a GPS, 00:30:33.19\00:30:35.56 I was using my laptop, 00:30:35.60\00:30:37.40 and those cheap first time things 00:30:37.43\00:30:39.13 we hang that dongle out the window 00:30:39.17\00:30:40.77 to pick a satellite. 00:30:40.80\00:30:42.14 So I'm watching my car on the thing 00:30:42.17\00:30:43.71 and I'm really fascinated, 00:30:43.74\00:30:45.34 and I'm looking at this thing and I'm up to 87 miles an hour. 00:30:45.37\00:30:48.58 Mercy. 00:30:48.61\00:30:49.94 But there's a trailer truck to my right, 00:30:49.98\00:30:51.51 blocking the curve, 00:30:51.55\00:30:52.95 and when I got around the curve, 00:30:52.98\00:30:55.52 there was a black highway patrolman 00:30:55.55\00:30:57.82 and his lights went on immediately 00:30:57.85\00:30:59.19 and I said "Slow down, he caught me." 00:30:59.22\00:31:01.46 And I didn't try to race away, 00:31:01.49\00:31:02.82 I pulled over at the side and waited for him, 00:31:02.86\00:31:05.13 and he said to me, 00:31:05.16\00:31:07.83 "Could you tell me why you were speeding?" 00:31:07.86\00:31:10.80 I said, "Honestly officer, 00:31:10.83\00:31:12.27 I was looking at my screen, on my GPS, 00:31:12.30\00:31:16.04 I really didn't see it." 00:31:16.07\00:31:17.41 He said, "I clocked you at 87 miles an hour. 00:31:17.44\00:31:20.71 License and registration, please?" 00:31:20.74\00:31:23.14 What was I? Was I an innocent or guilty? 00:31:23.18\00:31:25.25 Guilty. I was guilty. 00:31:25.28\00:31:26.61 He went back, 00:31:26.65\00:31:27.98 so I couldn't find the registration right away. 00:31:28.02\00:31:29.35 He said, "Give me your license." I went back. 00:31:29.38\00:31:30.72 He said, "When you went back," he said, 00:31:30.75\00:31:32.09 "I want your registration and insurance." 00:31:32.12\00:31:33.46 He came back and he said, "Why were you in such a hurry?" 00:31:33.49\00:31:36.42 I said, "I'm going to New York, 00:31:36.46\00:31:38.03 there's no excuse for going that fast." 00:31:38.06\00:31:39.39 He said, "I tell you what? 00:31:39.43\00:31:42.10 Why don't you slow it down and just called it a day." 00:31:42.13\00:31:45.37 Well. 00:31:45.40\00:31:46.94 I said, "My dad had died, I was in my way to New York." 00:31:46.97\00:31:49.74 He gave me grace. 00:31:49.77\00:31:51.91 He didn't say get back on the highway, 00:31:51.94\00:31:54.41 the speed limit has been canceled 00:31:54.44\00:31:56.38 just because you want to speed. 00:31:56.41\00:31:57.98 No. 00:31:58.01\00:31:59.35 And by the way, we don't break the law, 00:31:59.38\00:32:01.22 we violate it. 00:32:01.25\00:32:02.58 I was glad, you could never break the law, 00:32:02.62\00:32:04.72 because it's gonna apply 00:32:04.75\00:32:06.09 the moment you get back out there, it's in set. 00:32:06.12\00:32:07.86 We can't break law, we violate it. 00:32:07.89\00:32:10.46 So the violation causes the death. 00:32:10.49\00:32:15.16 It's the violation of the commandments of God 00:32:15.20\00:32:17.37 that brings about the result. 00:32:17.40\00:32:18.83 Death, incarceration, violence, crime. 00:32:18.87\00:32:21.40 The violation brings it about. 00:32:21.44\00:32:22.77 So when the Bible says, Roman 3:23, 00:32:22.80\00:32:25.41 "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." 00:32:25.44\00:32:27.91 Every one of you watching the program 00:32:27.94\00:32:29.84 at one point or another, and why do we all sin? 00:32:29.88\00:32:32.45 Because every one of us... 00:32:32.48\00:32:33.82 And Ryan did a good job, 00:32:33.85\00:32:35.18 he talked about the ancient of sin, 00:32:35.22\00:32:36.55 how Lucifer rebelled, became Satan, 00:32:36.58\00:32:39.82 but it didn't yet entered the world 00:32:39.85\00:32:41.32 until Adam decided to transgress. 00:32:41.36\00:32:43.89 Romans 5:12, "Through one man sin entered." 00:32:43.93\00:32:46.73 And since we are His children, every one of us were born 00:32:46.76\00:32:50.83 with the seed of rebellion in us. 00:32:50.87\00:32:52.27 Yes. Okay. 00:32:52.30\00:32:53.64 But when you rebel instead of stumble, 00:32:53.67\00:32:56.37 there's a difference all together. 00:32:56.40\00:32:58.01 I'll give Miss Shelley a chance here. 00:32:58.04\00:33:00.24 I just wanted to say that 00:33:00.28\00:33:02.04 what I love about Romans Chapter 5 is, 00:33:02.08\00:33:05.28 it lets us know that 00:33:05.31\00:33:07.42 we have an enemy out there, don't we? 00:33:07.45\00:33:10.25 Satan is roaming around 00:33:10.29\00:33:13.02 like a roaring lion 00:33:13.05\00:33:15.12 seeking whom he can devour. 00:33:15.16\00:33:17.36 Who can he bring over to transgress the law of God? 00:33:17.39\00:33:21.36 But the beautiful thing about it 00:33:21.40\00:33:23.16 is Romans Chapter 5 says, 00:33:23.20\00:33:25.23 "Sin came into the world 00:33:25.27\00:33:27.44 thorough the one man Adam. 00:33:27.47\00:33:29.27 But we've got a Savior who came..." 00:33:29.30\00:33:32.61 And, you know, it says that, 00:33:32.64\00:33:34.11 "Were sin abounded, 00:33:34.14\00:33:35.84 grace abounded much more." 00:33:35.88\00:33:38.35 So that as sin reigned in death, 00:33:38.38\00:33:40.15 I'm in Romans 5:21 now, 00:33:40.18\00:33:45.12 "Even so grace might reign 00:33:45.15\00:33:49.29 through righteousness, 00:33:49.32\00:33:50.73 to eternal life through Christ Jesus." 00:33:50.76\00:33:53.46 1 John 3:8 said, 00:33:53.50\00:33:54.83 "Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil." 00:33:54.86\00:33:57.97 You're talking about, there are sins of omission 00:33:58.00\00:34:01.57 or co-mission where you purposefully go out 00:34:01.60\00:34:04.44 and commit a sin. 00:34:04.47\00:34:05.81 There's sins of omission where, 00:34:05.84\00:34:08.14 you know, it says anything that's not of faith is sin 00:34:08.18\00:34:11.18 or if you know you should do good 00:34:11.21\00:34:13.28 and you don't do it, that's a sin. 00:34:13.31\00:34:15.88 But there are sins of ignorance, 00:34:15.92\00:34:17.99 I mean they gave, 00:34:18.02\00:34:20.49 I mean that's on the Day of Atonement. 00:34:20.52\00:34:22.19 There was a special offering 00:34:22.22\00:34:24.43 for the sins of the ignorance that, 00:34:24.46\00:34:27.33 you know, corporate sins people didn't even realize 00:34:27.36\00:34:29.56 they were committing. 00:34:29.60\00:34:31.63 But Jesus is the sacrifice for all. 00:34:31.67\00:34:35.24 And I love Hebrews 7:22 00:34:35.27\00:34:39.17 that says, "Jesus is our surety." 00:34:39.21\00:34:43.24 God has brought us into a covenant, 00:34:43.28\00:34:46.21 and we will talk about this, I'm sure. 00:34:46.25\00:34:48.55 His law is part of that covenant 00:34:48.58\00:34:51.75 because His law represents His character, 00:34:51.79\00:34:54.99 His law is kind of a moral standard. 00:34:55.02\00:35:00.30 It's 10 promises, 00:35:00.33\00:35:03.06 10 promises of what He will do in us. 00:35:03.10\00:35:06.17 But Jesus is the surety that we have. 00:35:06.20\00:35:10.67 And he says in Romans, 00:35:10.71\00:35:12.14 I mean, in Hebrews 7:25 that, 00:35:12.17\00:35:15.04 "He intercedes on our behalf constantly 00:35:15.08\00:35:17.31 and He's able to save to the uttermost." 00:35:17.35\00:35:19.91 So when you're talking about, 00:35:19.95\00:35:21.88 yeah, there's mistakes we've all made, 00:35:21.92\00:35:24.42 you know, we don't want anybody at home 00:35:24.45\00:35:26.15 to sit and say, oh, man, 00:35:26.19\00:35:27.89 they're beating us over the head 00:35:27.92\00:35:29.26 talking about law, law, law. 00:35:29.29\00:35:31.13 We're gonna get to the good stuff because... 00:35:31.16\00:35:33.29 That's right. 00:35:33.33\00:35:34.76 It is God who works in us too will 00:35:34.80\00:35:36.70 and to do His good pleasure. 00:35:36.73\00:35:38.17 It is God. 00:35:38.20\00:35:39.53 Once you know these things, 00:35:39.57\00:35:41.10 and you accept Him as your Savior. 00:35:41.14\00:35:43.27 It is God who's gonna complete the good work He's begun in us. 00:35:43.30\00:35:47.14 And there is good news where sin abounded grace, 00:35:47.18\00:35:51.35 abounded so much more. 00:35:51.38\00:35:52.98 Hey, Yvonne. Yes. 00:35:53.01\00:35:54.82 Well, I think, you know, there are a couple of places that 00:35:54.85\00:35:59.12 people will use in scripture like 00:35:59.15\00:36:02.52 in Matthew 5:17, 00:36:02.56\00:36:04.33 you know, "Think not that I've come to destroy the law, 00:36:04.36\00:36:07.43 I've not come to destroy, but to fulfill." 00:36:07.46\00:36:09.20 Fulfill. 00:36:09.23\00:36:10.57 And, you know, 00:36:10.60\00:36:12.40 what does that mean? 00:36:12.43\00:36:14.17 What does that mean to us? 00:36:14.20\00:36:15.67 Like, does that mean that, you know... 00:36:15.70\00:36:17.21 Can you give the scripture again? 00:36:17.24\00:36:18.57 Matthew 5:17, I believe it is. 00:36:18.61\00:36:20.74 And may wanna folks at home may wanna know. 00:36:20.78\00:36:22.31 Yeah, Matthew 5:17. 00:36:22.34\00:36:26.82 I'll read it. 00:36:26.85\00:36:28.18 "Do not think that I came to destroy the law 00:36:28.22\00:36:30.49 or the prophets." 00:36:30.52\00:36:31.85 This is from the New King James. 00:36:31.89\00:36:33.52 "I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." 00:36:33.56\00:36:36.39 So what does the word fulfill mean? 00:36:36.42\00:36:41.16 Does it mean that... Shelley's got an answer. 00:36:41.20\00:36:43.06 I know she's chomping at the bit, right? 00:36:43.10\00:36:45.37 Does it mean that 00:36:45.40\00:36:48.54 He just did away with it 00:36:48.57\00:36:50.24 or He was the embodiment of it, and there's no more law? 00:36:50.27\00:36:53.91 What does that mean? 00:36:53.94\00:36:55.41 Because that's one of the scriptures, 00:36:55.44\00:36:57.88 that many Christians use who, 00:36:57.91\00:37:00.65 you know, who think that we don't have the law anymore. 00:37:00.68\00:37:04.35 We don't have the law anymore. 00:37:04.39\00:37:05.72 Came not to destroy, but to fulfill, Shelley. 00:37:05.75\00:37:08.79 So that juxtaposition right there, 00:37:08.82\00:37:10.66 which you said, I didn't come to destroy, but to fulfill. 00:37:10.69\00:37:13.73 Fulfill is to cause it to overflow. 00:37:13.76\00:37:18.20 And, you know, there was the letter of the law 00:37:18.23\00:37:21.47 is what Pharisees followed. 00:37:21.50\00:37:23.77 And Jesus when He fulfilled and caused it to overflow, 00:37:23.81\00:37:28.08 He said, "Oh, okay." 00:37:28.11\00:37:29.71 So you think it's a sin to commit adultery. 00:37:29.74\00:37:33.82 I say to you, any man that looks at a woman 00:37:33.85\00:37:37.85 with lust in his eyes is sin. 00:37:37.89\00:37:40.79 Okay, so it's a sin, you're breaking the law, 00:37:40.82\00:37:43.96 if you murder, I say to you, the spirit of the law, 00:37:43.99\00:37:48.63 is that if you hate your brother. 00:37:48.66\00:37:50.53 I mean, he caused it to overflow. 00:37:50.57\00:37:53.47 He also fulfilled in this sense. 00:37:53.50\00:37:56.87 I love the study of the sanctuary, 00:37:56.91\00:37:59.94 because the sanctuary is theology in physical form. 00:37:59.97\00:38:04.45 The whole plan of salvation is laid out in the sanctuary. 00:38:04.48\00:38:09.45 Jesus fulfilled all of these things, 00:38:09.48\00:38:14.32 bringing us up to this point, 00:38:14.36\00:38:17.36 where now He's fulfilling us. 00:38:17.39\00:38:19.83 He's filling us by the power of His Holy Spirit. 00:38:19.86\00:38:23.23 So Jesus fulfilled the things of the past but in... 00:38:23.26\00:38:27.27 When somebody says, 00:38:27.30\00:38:28.70 "Oh, that means there is no more law, 00:38:28.74\00:38:31.27 we're still covenant." 00:38:31.31\00:38:32.64 Aren't we? 00:38:32.67\00:38:34.01 I mean, this is what we don't talk 00:38:34.04\00:38:35.38 about enough is that we are God's covenant people. 00:38:35.41\00:38:38.55 Let's look at Hebrews Chapter 8. 00:38:38.58\00:38:41.88 Hebrews Chapter 8, 00:38:41.92\00:38:44.55 when Jesus said, 00:38:44.59\00:38:45.92 I didn't come to destroy the law, 00:38:45.95\00:38:49.42 but to fulfill it. 00:38:49.46\00:38:51.06 In Hebrews 8:10, 00:38:51.09\00:38:55.90 this is God speaking. 00:38:55.93\00:38:58.33 And, you know, all of the covenant, 00:38:58.37\00:39:01.04 I mean, every one of what we call covenants, 00:39:01.07\00:39:05.47 it is all a progressive revelation 00:39:05.51\00:39:08.84 of the everlasting gospel. 00:39:08.88\00:39:12.28 It's all God is just building each one on the next. 00:39:12.31\00:39:17.19 By the time He comes to the point 00:39:17.22\00:39:18.85 where He says in verse 10, 00:39:18.89\00:39:20.96 for this is the covenant that I will make with 00:39:20.99\00:39:24.33 is the house of Israel, 00:39:24.36\00:39:26.19 after those days, says the Lord, 00:39:26.23\00:39:27.96 this is the new covenant, 00:39:28.00\00:39:30.37 I will put what? 00:39:30.40\00:39:33.40 My laws in their mind, 00:39:33.44\00:39:37.41 I will write them on their hearts, 00:39:37.44\00:39:40.11 I will be their God and they shall be My people. 00:39:40.14\00:39:43.95 So as we go through this, 00:39:43.98\00:39:45.61 I'm sure we will progress 00:39:45.65\00:39:47.02 to where we look at, 00:39:47.05\00:39:49.62 was the Ten Commandments 00:39:49.65\00:39:51.45 or were the Ten Commandments nailed to the cross 00:39:51.49\00:39:54.92 or are they the foundation of God's government? 00:39:54.96\00:39:58.96 Boy, we can really cut loose on that one. 00:39:58.99\00:40:02.33 Probably ought to wait till the next hour. 00:40:02.36\00:40:05.30 I wanna say, which I forgot to do it earlier. 00:40:05.33\00:40:08.60 For those of you who want to study more on the topic, 00:40:08.64\00:40:12.21 tonight, we're giving away the book, 00:40:12.24\00:40:14.18 The Ten Commandments Twice Removed. 00:40:14.21\00:40:16.14 You can get these books by calling us 00:40:16.18\00:40:17.98 at (618) 627-4651. 00:40:18.01\00:40:21.68 Or you can email us at live@3abn.tv. 00:40:21.72\00:40:26.02 That's live@3abn.tv. 00:40:26.05\00:40:28.32 Now what we're doing, Yvonne, 00:40:28.36\00:40:29.89 is we're not selling books, 00:40:29.92\00:40:31.49 we're actually giving books away 00:40:31.53\00:40:33.19 and I can say thank you to all of you 00:40:33.23\00:40:35.96 who have sent literally finances in. 00:40:36.00\00:40:38.20 Yeah. 00:40:38.23\00:40:39.57 They says, "Hey, I can't go out 00:40:39.60\00:40:40.94 and I'm maybe too old anymore, 00:40:40.97\00:40:42.30 my health is not good. 00:40:42.34\00:40:43.67 I can't go out." 00:40:43.71\00:40:45.04 We've actually had people that are incarcerated, 00:40:45.07\00:40:47.41 send a little money and say, "Hey, I can't go out. 00:40:47.44\00:40:50.11 But here's to help with this." 00:40:50.15\00:40:52.38 So thank you for those of you donating. 00:40:52.41\00:40:54.75 So what we're doing because of that, 00:40:54.78\00:40:56.95 in your sacrifice, 00:40:56.99\00:40:58.32 now we can make these books available to you. 00:40:58.35\00:41:00.96 You can get them 100 in a box or 500, 00:41:00.99\00:41:03.89 even 1000 at your church, 00:41:03.93\00:41:05.93 if you're willing to take them and pass them out. 00:41:05.96\00:41:08.43 Sabbath afternoons is always a good time. 00:41:08.46\00:41:11.17 The rate and the shipping is all you would pay. 00:41:11.20\00:41:13.94 And the flat rate is 22 cents per book. 00:41:13.97\00:41:16.64 Wow! That's good. 00:44:27.03\00:44:28.46 So with the covenant there in place, 00:44:28.50\00:44:31.60 you find that when we talked about the word fulfill. 00:44:31.63\00:44:35.20 Fulfill has a number of applications. 00:44:35.24\00:44:37.54 One it means in with the very same context 00:44:37.57\00:44:40.21 for that covenant to be understood. 00:44:40.24\00:44:42.54 The Lord established a sanctuary 00:44:42.58\00:44:44.68 in the Old Testament, 00:44:44.71\00:44:46.05 that every component of that was a reminder 00:44:46.08\00:44:48.32 that His covenant is ratified. 00:44:48.35\00:44:50.22 His covenant is one that is secure, 00:44:50.25\00:44:52.09 and He's the one 00:44:52.12\00:44:53.46 that's living up to the agreement. 00:44:53.49\00:44:55.02 As Shelley made it very clear, 00:44:55.06\00:44:56.62 He's simply bringing us into the relationship. 00:44:56.66\00:44:59.69 So every aspect of that covenant 00:44:59.73\00:45:01.43 was portrayed in the lamb being sacrificed, 00:45:01.46\00:45:04.20 Jesus became the lamb, 00:45:04.23\00:45:06.03 the table of showbread or the bread, 00:45:06.07\00:45:08.17 Jesus became the bread of life. 00:45:08.20\00:45:09.77 The candelabra was lit, 00:45:09.80\00:45:11.14 Jesus became the light of the world. 00:45:11.17\00:45:12.64 Where the priests washed their hands in the water, 00:45:12.67\00:45:14.44 Jesus became the water of life. 00:45:14.48\00:45:16.18 He was showing that this covenant 00:45:16.21\00:45:17.61 will continue long after all these examples 00:45:17.65\00:45:20.45 are replaced by the actual man himself. 00:45:20.48\00:45:22.32 Okay. 00:45:22.35\00:45:23.69 The one who makes this covenant with us. 00:45:23.72\00:45:25.59 So when we talked about fulfill that people say, 00:45:25.62\00:45:27.79 well, the law has been fulfilled. 00:45:27.82\00:45:29.59 Jesus fulfilled every requirement, 00:45:29.62\00:45:31.33 He became the lamb, He became the water, 00:45:31.36\00:45:33.09 He became the bread, He became the light, 00:45:33.13\00:45:35.46 everything pointed, He fulfilled it, 00:45:35.50\00:45:37.57 He became all those things. 00:45:37.60\00:45:39.57 The high priest, He became the high priest, 00:45:39.60\00:45:41.54 He always was, but He was showing 00:45:41.57\00:45:42.90 that I'm coming. 00:45:42.94\00:45:44.27 So when He came, 00:45:44.31\00:45:45.71 He did not just fulfill all those things 00:45:45.74\00:45:47.74 that's being pointed out, but He magnified it. 00:45:47.78\00:45:50.25 Amen. 00:45:50.28\00:45:51.61 Isaiah 42:21, 00:45:51.65\00:45:53.01 "The Lord He will magnify the law 00:45:53.05\00:45:56.58 and make it honorable." 00:45:56.62\00:45:57.95 So instead of saying, here's an earthly high priest, 00:45:57.99\00:46:01.12 He says, I'm the real high priest. 00:46:01.16\00:46:03.59 Instead of things that are sacrificed by blood 00:46:03.63\00:46:05.59 is My blood, 00:46:05.63\00:46:07.40 instead of the water that was brought from a stream, 00:46:07.43\00:46:10.33 I'm the water of life that brings eternal life, 00:46:10.37\00:46:13.00 He magnified it, made it even better, 00:46:13.03\00:46:15.24 instead of saying, 00:46:15.27\00:46:16.84 "If you kill somebody you in danger of death," 00:46:16.87\00:46:19.17 He said, "If you hate them, 00:46:19.21\00:46:21.41 you're in violating 00:46:21.44\00:46:23.85 the very law of thou shalt not kill." 00:46:23.88\00:46:25.71 So He magnified it, didn't make it smaller. 00:46:25.75\00:46:27.98 So when we think that the law was done away with. 00:46:28.02\00:46:29.62 No, it's been magnified. 00:46:29.65\00:46:31.72 And I go back to my original premise to those 00:46:31.75\00:46:33.76 who are not even Christian. 00:46:33.79\00:46:35.19 One of the reasons why there's murder, 00:46:35.22\00:46:36.62 and crime, and violence everywhere 00:46:36.66\00:46:38.16 is because the Bible says in Isaiah 24:5, 00:46:38.19\00:46:41.16 "The earth is defiled by its people, 00:46:41.20\00:46:43.57 they have disobeyed the laws, 00:46:43.60\00:46:45.60 they have violated his statutes, 00:46:45.63\00:46:47.64 and they broke the everlasting covenant." 00:46:47.67\00:46:50.37 So what's happening in parts of the world 00:46:50.41\00:46:52.37 where Jesus has not even known, 00:46:52.41\00:46:54.28 the effect of His violated law 00:46:54.31\00:46:56.75 is being shown that it cannot be absent. 00:46:56.78\00:46:59.65 Okay. 00:46:59.68\00:47:01.02 If His law was done away with, these things couldn't happen. 00:47:01.05\00:47:04.45 Nobody could die. 00:47:04.49\00:47:05.82 Where there is no law, there is no sin. 00:47:05.85\00:47:07.19 Where there's no sin, there's no death 00:47:07.22\00:47:08.56 because there's death, 00:47:08.59\00:47:09.92 there's a law because there's a law, 00:47:09.96\00:47:11.59 there's a lawgiver. 00:47:11.63\00:47:12.96 And we're gonna define that law in just a moment 00:47:12.99\00:47:14.66 in the second half and show you 00:47:14.70\00:47:16.43 how that law is still in effect today 00:47:16.46\00:47:19.40 whether you're Christian or not. 00:47:19.43\00:47:21.17 All right. Now, Ryan. 00:47:21.20\00:47:23.00 I just wanna kind of just feed off what he just said, 00:47:23.04\00:47:25.77 no matter who you are, no matter where you are, 00:47:25.81\00:47:28.01 this law and its effects go so deep. 00:47:28.04\00:47:30.58 I mean, it's very, very much deep subject. 00:47:30.61\00:47:33.92 And I just want to show you something here 00:47:33.95\00:47:35.28 because I've gotten this question quite a bit. 00:47:35.32\00:47:36.95 And that is, you know, 00:47:36.99\00:47:38.52 you talked a lot about the law in relation to Christianity, 00:47:38.55\00:47:41.79 especially when we're doing evangelistic series, 00:47:41.82\00:47:43.83 we were preaching to predominantly 00:47:43.86\00:47:46.59 a Christian crowd, 00:47:46.63\00:47:47.96 someone who already has a preconceived idea 00:47:48.00\00:47:50.57 or, you know, an exposing to the law of God 00:47:50.60\00:47:53.87 in the Christian Bible. 00:47:53.90\00:47:55.97 But it's interesting. 00:47:56.00\00:47:57.34 What about those people say out 00:47:57.37\00:47:58.81 in the middle of the Amazon, or people, 00:47:58.84\00:48:01.28 you know, all the way across in Papa New Guinea 00:48:01.31\00:48:03.41 or all of these very 00:48:03.45\00:48:06.38 remote places of the earth that perhaps 00:48:06.41\00:48:08.78 maybe have never heard the law of God. 00:48:08.82\00:48:10.55 Paul writes right here, Romans Chapter 2, 00:48:10.59\00:48:13.32 I'm gonna begin with verse 12. 00:48:13.36\00:48:14.69 Notice what he says, 00:48:14.72\00:48:16.06 in regards to how deep the law and its effects go. 00:48:16.09\00:48:21.10 Romans 2:12 says, 00:48:21.13\00:48:22.46 "For as many as have sinned without law 00:48:22.50\00:48:24.67 will also perish without law, 00:48:24.70\00:48:27.40 and as many as have sinned in the law 00:48:27.44\00:48:29.34 will be judged by the law." 00:48:29.37\00:48:31.37 And then he goes on to say, "For not the hearers of the law 00:48:31.41\00:48:33.38 are just in the sight of God, 00:48:33.41\00:48:34.81 but the doers of the law shall be justified." 00:48:34.84\00:48:37.58 He says, now notice this, verse 14 and onward, it says, 00:48:37.61\00:48:40.38 "For when Gentiles," and I just want to pause there, 00:48:40.42\00:48:42.68 Gentiles, in the context of this passage, 00:48:42.72\00:48:45.25 would be likened unto those people 00:48:45.29\00:48:46.69 who were non-Christian, non-believers, 00:48:46.72\00:48:48.92 people who might not have a prior knowledge 00:48:48.96\00:48:52.89 of the Bible in the law. 00:48:52.93\00:48:54.26 So "For when the Gentiles, who do not have the law," 00:48:54.30\00:48:57.23 here it is, 00:48:57.27\00:48:59.53 "by nature," okay, 00:48:59.57\00:49:01.70 so notice this is almost like 00:49:01.74\00:49:03.07 He's communicating the God is instilled 00:49:03.10\00:49:04.87 within us something, 00:49:04.91\00:49:06.31 "by nature do the things of the law, 00:49:06.34\00:49:09.11 these, although not having the law, 00:49:09.14\00:49:11.61 are a law to themselves, 00:49:11.65\00:49:13.72 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, 00:49:13.75\00:49:17.19 their conscience also bearing witness, 00:49:17.22\00:49:19.82 and between themselves and their thoughts 00:49:19.85\00:49:22.56 accusing or else 00:49:22.59\00:49:23.93 excusing themselves or them 00:49:23.96\00:49:26.19 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men 00:49:26.23\00:49:28.66 by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel." 00:49:28.70\00:49:31.27 So what He's writing here, He's saying those people 00:49:31.30\00:49:33.27 who have not necessarily been exposed to 00:49:33.30\00:49:35.20 or had a prior knowledge to the law, 00:49:35.24\00:49:36.81 does that excuse them now, 00:49:36.84\00:49:38.17 does that mean that they're not being judged? 00:49:38.21\00:49:40.01 No, no, no, they're by nature He says. 00:49:40.04\00:49:42.48 There is something within their conscience, 00:49:42.51\00:49:44.11 there's something within their minds and hearts 00:49:44.15\00:49:45.91 that they will be judged by. 00:49:45.95\00:49:47.28 In other words, that concept of good and evil, 00:49:47.32\00:49:49.82 right and wrong, 00:49:49.85\00:49:51.42 we were instilled within us as a kid, 00:49:51.45\00:49:54.06 I remember that before I really even knew 00:49:54.09\00:49:55.92 what the Ten Commandments were? 00:49:55.96\00:49:57.59 I knew it was instill with me, 00:49:57.63\00:49:59.16 do you know what that's not my toy. 00:49:59.19\00:50:00.53 I shouldn't take it. 00:50:00.56\00:50:01.90 But there was always that temptation, 00:50:01.93\00:50:03.26 whoo, I want it so bad, though, 00:50:03.30\00:50:04.70 you know, but there was something within me that said, 00:50:04.73\00:50:06.23 "Oh, it's probably not the best thing to do." 00:50:06.27\00:50:08.40 And I wanna really quickly with 00:50:08.44\00:50:09.77 before I pass it on to Pastor Kenny. 00:50:09.80\00:50:13.21 The word fulfill, 00:50:13.24\00:50:14.58 you mentioned that over in Matthew Chapter 5, 00:50:14.61\00:50:16.54 actually was Yvonne that mentioned the scripture 00:50:16.58\00:50:18.51 and then the word fulfilled, I just wanna make mention here. 00:50:18.55\00:50:21.08 This is a powerful covenant language. 00:50:21.12\00:50:23.62 Okay, we're talking about covenant language here. 00:50:23.65\00:50:25.42 And I know we've thrown that word around quite a bit. 00:50:25.45\00:50:27.59 But when I think of Christ being a fulfillment of the law, 00:50:27.62\00:50:30.43 obviously, He's fulfilling the law 00:50:30.46\00:50:32.79 in the sense of something that came before Him, 00:50:32.83\00:50:34.83 a covenant agreement, 00:50:34.86\00:50:36.23 something that was set in place far before Him. 00:50:36.26\00:50:38.30 I'm gonna go back to the origin of this covenant 00:50:38.33\00:50:41.44 in relation to the commandment law. 00:50:41.47\00:50:43.84 This is found in Exodus 19:5-8. 00:50:43.87\00:50:46.94 Notice what the Bible says here. 00:50:46.98\00:50:48.84 Now I'm not gonna read all of this, 00:50:48.88\00:50:50.21 but I want you to see here, 00:50:50.25\00:50:52.95 that basically, 00:50:52.98\00:50:54.32 God has told Moses go down and tell my people these words, 00:50:54.35\00:50:58.12 and this is what he says, 00:50:58.15\00:50:59.59 "Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice, 00:50:59.62\00:51:03.02 and keep My covenant, 00:51:03.06\00:51:04.46 then you shall be a special treasure to Me 00:51:04.49\00:51:06.39 above all people, for all the earth is Mine. 00:51:06.43\00:51:08.76 And you shall be to Me 00:51:08.80\00:51:10.47 a kingdom of priests and holy nation. 00:51:10.50\00:51:12.50 These are the words which you shall speak 00:51:12.53\00:51:13.94 to the children of Israel." 00:51:13.97\00:51:15.30 Okay, so God basically calls Moses up the mountain, 00:51:15.34\00:51:17.31 He says, "Look, I want them to be My special people, 00:51:17.34\00:51:20.08 I want these to be My people." 00:51:20.11\00:51:21.44 Now keep in mind, 00:51:21.48\00:51:22.81 these people have been in 400 years of bondage. 00:51:22.84\00:51:24.41 Okay. 00:51:24.45\00:51:25.78 Now while they might have had traditional stories 00:51:25.81\00:51:28.45 and sayings that had been passed down, 00:51:28.48\00:51:30.09 they had not been exposed 00:51:30.12\00:51:31.59 to God's laws and God's principles 00:51:31.62\00:51:33.46 for more than 400 years. 00:51:33.49\00:51:34.99 So now God is taking these people saying, 00:51:35.02\00:51:36.46 I want these to be My people. 00:51:36.49\00:51:38.09 But here's the condition, 00:51:38.13\00:51:39.46 we used this word a few minutes ago, 00:51:39.49\00:51:40.83 while God does give the promise, 00:51:40.86\00:51:42.36 He brings a special condition with it. 00:51:42.40\00:51:44.20 Okay. 00:51:44.23\00:51:45.57 That if, 00:51:45.60\00:51:47.14 only if you will obey My voice and keep My covenant, 00:51:47.17\00:51:50.07 then you shall be My people, indeed. 00:51:50.11\00:51:52.91 And I just wanna end with this and pass it on to Pastor Kenny 00:51:52.94\00:51:56.08 that we're headed in this direction. 00:51:56.11\00:51:58.81 And this is gonna take us a while to break this down. 00:51:58.85\00:52:00.75 But, you know, it's one thing when you see the secular world, 00:52:00.78\00:52:04.45 people out there in the world 00:52:04.49\00:52:05.82 who necessarily don't believe in God. 00:52:05.85\00:52:08.19 They struggle with the belief that there even is a God 00:52:08.22\00:52:10.73 and especially with this concept 00:52:10.76\00:52:12.23 of good and evil, right and wrong. 00:52:12.26\00:52:14.70 But it's a whole another thing, 00:52:14.73\00:52:16.10 when you have a people that claim to be Christian, 00:52:16.13\00:52:19.83 that are taking on the name of God 00:52:19.87\00:52:21.70 that have created institutions in the name of God, 00:52:21.74\00:52:24.37 who are now within the Christian world, 00:52:24.41\00:52:27.71 and telling the rest of the world 00:52:27.74\00:52:29.68 that this law that God has set in place 00:52:29.71\00:52:32.11 is no longer in effect. 00:52:32.15\00:52:33.72 Pastor Kenny, what do we do with that? 00:52:33.75\00:52:35.28 It's good. Good. 00:52:35.32\00:52:36.65 Yeah. I got feeling. Yeah. Go ahead. 00:52:36.69\00:52:38.75 To me that's the ultimate challenge 00:52:38.79\00:52:41.42 is that now the secular people are looking 00:52:41.46\00:52:43.12 inside the Christian church and they're saying, 00:52:43.16\00:52:45.19 you people don't even agree with each other, 00:52:45.23\00:52:46.63 you talk about good and evil sin, 00:52:46.66\00:52:49.16 you know, right from wrong, but, you know, 00:52:49.20\00:52:52.00 if there's a law 00:52:52.03\00:52:53.37 should we keep it or should we not 00:52:53.40\00:52:54.74 much of the Christian will today say, 00:52:54.77\00:52:56.17 that law is was done away with. 00:52:56.20\00:52:57.54 I know what Brother Kenny does 00:52:57.57\00:52:58.91 what he's been doing for 35 years 00:52:58.94\00:53:00.54 just tell the truth, right? 00:53:00.58\00:53:02.38 That's right. Continue telling the truth. 00:53:02.41\00:53:04.51 We need to in the Word of God 'cause, you know, 00:53:04.55\00:53:06.21 we talked about the law, we talked about abolish, 00:53:06.25\00:53:08.15 done away with, we hear that so often, don't we? 00:53:08.18\00:53:10.42 Done away with it. 00:53:10.45\00:53:11.79 Abolish... I used to believe it. 00:53:11.82\00:53:13.15 Well, probably some here probably used to believe that 00:53:13.19\00:53:15.62 but, you know, when you think about abolish just, 00:53:15.66\00:53:17.79 food for thought. 00:53:17.83\00:53:19.16 And I always say you can hang your hat 00:53:19.19\00:53:20.90 or you can throw it out if you want to. 00:53:20.93\00:53:22.60 But if the law is abolished here, you can... 00:53:22.63\00:53:25.03 Now be careful with it. 00:53:25.07\00:53:26.40 You can hate God, 00:53:26.43\00:53:27.77 and you can hate your fellow man. 00:53:27.80\00:53:30.07 Think about it. 00:53:30.11\00:53:31.44 If it's abolished 00:53:31.47\00:53:32.81 because on these two hang all 00:53:32.84\00:53:34.31 law and the testaments. 00:53:34.34\00:53:35.68 That's right. 00:53:35.71\00:53:37.05 And also, when I read in Romans, 00:53:37.08\00:53:38.48 what is it 7:14, 00:53:38.51\00:53:40.72 it tells right then if we're debating about a law, 00:53:40.75\00:53:43.35 it says, "The law is," what? 00:53:43.39\00:53:44.75 Holy. It's holy. 00:53:44.79\00:53:46.35 It's spiritual, isn't it, number one. 00:53:46.39\00:53:47.92 So we know the law is spiritual. 00:53:47.96\00:53:49.29 So why would you want to do away 00:53:49.32\00:53:50.66 with something that's spiritual, 00:53:50.69\00:53:52.03 something that's holy, something that's just, 00:53:52.06\00:53:53.70 something that's good? 00:53:53.73\00:53:55.26 So that sets us on a good firm foundation. 00:53:55.30\00:53:57.70 I read that passage here I think it was in. 00:53:57.73\00:54:00.57 I think it's Romans 7:14, is what I wanted. 00:54:00.60\00:54:02.80 Yes. Yes. 00:54:02.84\00:54:04.17 "For we know that the law is spiritual, 00:54:04.21\00:54:06.88 but I am carnal, 00:54:06.91\00:54:08.58 sold under sin." 00:54:08.61\00:54:12.11 So we know number one that it's spiritual. 00:54:12.15\00:54:14.88 So rather than say, it's done away with, 00:54:14.92\00:54:16.95 it's abolished, we no longer have to do it. 00:54:16.99\00:54:18.99 What do we do with something that's... 00:54:19.02\00:54:21.19 My question goes at, what do we do 00:54:21.22\00:54:22.56 with something that's spiritual? 00:54:22.59\00:54:23.93 Oh. 00:54:23.96\00:54:25.29 Should we throw it out? Can we throw it out? 00:54:25.33\00:54:26.66 Or should we even think about throwing it out 00:54:26.70\00:54:28.90 if it's spiritual 00:54:28.93\00:54:30.33 because we think that belongs to God? 00:54:30.37\00:54:32.90 Amen. Amen. 00:54:32.93\00:54:34.30 Something He's given to us. 00:54:34.34\00:54:35.67 So I just, you know, I'm challenged with that. 00:54:35.70\00:54:38.61 And I want to challenge people saying that's right. Yeah. 00:54:38.64\00:54:41.14 It's spiritual. 00:54:41.18\00:54:42.51 I got a lot, I wanna say but it's... 00:54:42.54\00:54:43.88 Oh, good. Praise God. 00:54:43.91\00:54:45.25 You got it. Go ahead. 00:54:45.28\00:54:46.61 You got it man, go ahead. You got it man, so. 00:54:46.65\00:54:48.18 You're gonna have to wait and start me on the next side. 00:54:48.22\00:54:51.55 All right, you know, Ryan, when you were talking about 00:54:51.59\00:54:53.92 we got just a minute or so here. 00:54:53.96\00:54:55.69 You said people and say 00:54:55.72\00:54:57.06 you just throw out Papua New Guinea. 00:54:57.09\00:54:59.36 John, you've been there, I've been there. 00:54:59.39\00:55:00.73 But here's what was interesting. 00:55:00.76\00:55:02.36 And especially 1950s and '60s, 00:55:02.40\00:55:05.00 when so many of our missionaries, 00:55:05.03\00:55:06.70 Adventist missionaries were going into then these, 00:55:06.74\00:55:10.74 you know, places 00:55:10.77\00:55:12.11 where the gospel had never been. 00:55:12.14\00:55:14.01 But the missionaries came back 00:55:14.04\00:55:15.61 with different stories than what we thought. 00:55:15.64\00:55:18.48 The missionary says, 00:55:18.51\00:55:20.12 "They have a way of life 00:55:20.15\00:55:22.38 and they have lost." 00:55:22.42\00:55:23.75 That's right. 00:55:23.79\00:55:25.12 One man, one woman, 00:55:25.15\00:55:26.49 no woman to woman, no man to man. 00:55:26.52\00:55:28.62 And this is in the 1950s through someone 00:55:28.66\00:55:30.73 who'd never read a Bible, never heard about God. 00:55:30.76\00:55:33.96 They knew when it saying 00:55:34.00\00:55:35.50 there's something there by nature, 00:55:35.53\00:55:37.57 they do what is right, they knew it. 00:55:37.60\00:55:39.23 There were laws for adultery. 00:55:39.27\00:55:42.20 There's laws for stealing, against stealing. 00:55:42.24\00:55:44.54 So they had literally the last six, 00:55:44.57\00:55:47.31 you know, your duties to man. 00:55:47.34\00:55:50.58 They already knew all of that. 00:55:50.61\00:55:52.15 Now they had, we're serving to the best 00:55:52.18\00:55:54.75 they knew how of gods with little G's. 00:55:54.78\00:55:59.02 But then when the gospel came, 00:55:59.05\00:56:01.29 they saw the big picture and they accepted. 00:56:01.32\00:56:03.66 So these people, 00:56:03.69\00:56:05.23 that's what it means when you say judging, 00:56:05.26\00:56:07.30 well, how about these people? 00:56:07.33\00:56:08.66 You know what? 00:56:08.70\00:56:10.03 There's a big difference in those folk, 00:56:10.07\00:56:11.70 and what you were saying, people within the church 00:56:11.73\00:56:14.90 and that's why we came up with the name 00:56:14.94\00:56:17.51 Ten Commandments Twice Removed. 00:56:17.54\00:56:19.41 We said here, all of these people 00:56:19.44\00:56:21.44 putting signs in their yards 00:56:21.48\00:56:23.08 during Judge Roy Moore's ordeal, 00:56:23.11\00:56:25.45 putting signs in the yards, showing the Ten Commandments. 00:56:25.48\00:56:28.85 But if you knock on the door, and say, 00:56:28.88\00:56:31.09 "Do you keep the commandments of God." 00:56:31.12\00:56:32.65 They say, "Oh, well, they were nailed to the cross." 00:56:32.69\00:56:34.32 Oh. So I say, "Now, wait a minute." 00:56:34.36\00:56:35.96 So the church actually did away with commandments first. 00:56:35.99\00:56:39.86 Now the government's doing it. 00:56:39.89\00:56:41.70 And they're wondering, well, why so we say 00:56:41.73\00:56:43.57 the Ten Commandments Twice Removed. 00:56:43.60\00:56:45.90 Speaking of that, that book is available to you, 00:56:45.93\00:56:49.07 all you have to do is pay the shipping, 00:56:49.10\00:56:50.97 22 cents per book. 00:56:51.01\00:56:52.74 If you just wanna single copy tonight to read, 00:56:52.77\00:56:55.38 we're happy to send that to you also. 00:56:55.41\00:56:58.05 But we have some left. 00:56:58.08\00:56:59.55 Out of the million, we're down to 100 00:56:59.58\00:57:01.18 and some odd thousand left. 00:57:01.22\00:57:02.88 So first come first serve. 00:57:02.92\00:57:04.45 If you call and you're willing to pass these books out 00:57:04.49\00:57:07.46 because we have seen tremendous results. 00:57:07.49\00:57:09.86 And literally I think I can say 00:57:09.89\00:57:11.69 thousands of people have come to know the Lord. 00:57:11.73\00:57:13.66 Amen. 00:57:13.70\00:57:15.03 And understand truth and even numbers of pastors 00:57:15.06\00:57:17.40 from other denominations 00:57:17.43\00:57:19.00 who read the book who have converted 00:57:19.03\00:57:21.74 and will have some of those at camp meeting for sure. 00:57:21.77\00:57:23.61 Yeah. 00:57:23.64\00:57:24.97 Anyway, we're gonna have to take a break 00:57:25.01\00:57:26.34 for the first hour, 00:57:26.37\00:57:27.71 but we will be back in just a moment. 00:57:27.74\00:57:29.08 So don't go away. 00:57:29.11\00:57:30.45 Can I have...? 00:57:30.48\00:57:31.81
