Welcome back to the second part of our program. 00:00:10.57\00:00:14.11 Jay, I'm being so blessed. 00:00:14.14\00:00:16.04 I am too and seeing prayer and even a deeper light. 00:00:16.08\00:00:20.28 Yes. Yes. 00:00:20.32\00:00:22.32 And I think that, it's just so important 00:00:22.35\00:00:24.85 that we really revisit prayer on a regular basis 00:00:24.89\00:00:28.72 because that's how, that's how we connect with God. 00:00:28.76\00:00:32.69 And make it practical, not formal. 00:00:32.73\00:00:34.60 Yes. Yes. 00:00:34.63\00:00:36.00 Let's just talk to God. That's what Adam and Eve did. 00:00:36.03\00:00:38.23 You know, you hear sometimes... 00:00:38.27\00:00:40.60 [inaudible] 00:00:40.64\00:00:42.47 Come into your prayer closet and just talk to talk to me. 00:00:49.24\00:00:51.91 Just talk to me because I don't talk differently to you, right? 00:00:51.95\00:00:55.82 That's right. That's right. 00:00:55.85\00:00:57.19 So I want to talk to God. I don't want to be flippant. 00:00:57.22\00:00:59.92 Right. Right, I want to be respectful. 00:00:59.95\00:01:01.82 Absolutely. 00:01:01.86\00:01:03.19 And we are respectful in a way and we should be respectful 00:01:03.22\00:01:04.86 when we communicate to one another 00:01:04.89\00:01:06.23 and then with God too, 00:01:06.26\00:01:07.60 but to go off in this whole different language 00:01:07.63\00:01:10.37 or this whole different way of talking, 00:01:10.40\00:01:11.80 you know, what I'm saying, and not just communicate. 00:01:11.83\00:01:14.14 And I think that makes prayer difficult for some people. 00:01:14.17\00:01:16.87 I think so too. 00:01:16.91\00:01:18.24 Well, it formalizes it in a way that makes it uncomfortable 00:01:18.27\00:01:22.18 so that you don't feel like you're talking to a friend. 00:01:22.21\00:01:26.88 It's too... I think it needs to... 00:01:26.92\00:01:29.92 We need to consider and I read this somewhere 00:01:29.95\00:01:33.15 where you're talking to a king, 00:01:33.19\00:01:37.03 so you're going to have that kind of respect, 00:01:37.06\00:01:39.69 like you're talking to a king 00:01:39.73\00:01:41.33 but that king is your best friend. 00:01:41.36\00:01:43.77 So you have both, you know, the respect factor 00:01:43.80\00:01:47.57 and the intimacy. 00:01:47.60\00:01:49.00 So Abraham, and I just want to just give a little bit of... 00:01:49.04\00:01:54.81 A little bit of practical, biblical perspective 00:01:54.84\00:01:58.01 on how we can pray to God. 00:01:58.05\00:01:59.38 Oh, good. 00:01:59.41\00:02:00.75 So Abraham is very respectful to the God of all the earth, 00:02:00.78\00:02:03.55 destroy a city of these 50 righteous men. 00:02:03.59\00:02:06.72 He's asking, he's quiet. 00:02:06.76\00:02:08.09 We can question God, if we do it respectfully. 00:02:08.12\00:02:10.83 What about 45? What about 40? 00:02:10.86\00:02:12.89 What about 20? What about 10? 00:02:12.93\00:02:14.46 You would do that, would you? Would you? 00:02:14.50\00:02:16.97 And then you have Moses. I can't talk. 00:02:17.00\00:02:20.50 I can't do this. There's no way I can do this. 00:02:20.54\00:02:23.37 What am I going to tell him if... 00:02:23.41\00:02:25.14 Who's sending me? What am I gonna say? 00:02:25.17\00:02:27.68 You see what I'm saying. It's very heartfelt. 00:02:27.71\00:02:31.01 And then David's like, God help me, 00:02:31.05\00:02:33.35 and here's how I feel right now. 00:02:33.38\00:02:34.85 I'm so angry, I just want you to consume him, 00:02:34.88\00:02:36.52 just take him out. 00:02:36.55\00:02:37.89 That's how I feel about it, I just want, but we don't, 00:02:37.92\00:02:39.45 we never talked to God like that, 00:02:39.49\00:02:40.82 like that would be a reflection on us, wouldn't it? 00:02:40.86\00:02:43.46 So we want to say, "I'm a good Christian, 00:02:43.49\00:02:46.16 I love people so much and so, if you could answer my prayers 00:02:46.19\00:02:48.86 because I go to church and pray. 00:02:48.90\00:02:50.23 No, David is real with God, Abraham is real with God, 00:02:50.27\00:02:53.80 Moses is real with God, but they're real 00:02:53.84\00:02:56.00 about their own struggles, their weaknesses, 00:02:56.04\00:02:59.61 and the fears that they have and they express that. 00:02:59.64\00:03:03.75 And then the disciples, when you see them praying, 00:03:03.78\00:03:06.21 you don't hear necessarily 00:03:06.25\00:03:07.88 what they're saying in the upper room 00:03:07.92\00:03:09.25 but you know what they're saying. 00:03:09.28\00:03:10.65 You know what they're saying. 00:03:10.69\00:03:12.02 They're just like, man I messed up. 00:03:12.05\00:03:14.39 Man, I messed up. Yeah. 00:03:14.42\00:03:15.76 You know what's interesting to like when... 00:03:15.79\00:03:17.26 If you take it back to Genesis, right, 00:03:17.29\00:03:19.39 when Adam and Eve were in the garden 00:03:19.43\00:03:21.16 and they had sinned, and God was looking for them 00:03:21.20\00:03:24.57 and He started asking them a series of questions. 00:03:24.60\00:03:26.87 I mean, that's so much like a parent, you know, 00:03:26.90\00:03:30.94 you do something wrong, and then they ask you questions 00:03:30.97\00:03:34.04 they already know the answer to, so... 00:03:34.08\00:03:37.08 Why did you to come to self-revelation 00:03:37.11\00:03:40.05 and they want you to be honest yeah, 00:03:40.08\00:03:42.55 to work through it and to be honest. 00:03:42.58\00:03:44.99 And even Peter so, 00:03:45.02\00:03:46.35 here's another prayer engagement with Peter 00:03:46.39\00:03:48.86 that's, that is clear, okay. 00:03:48.89\00:03:51.16 So after Jesus is resurrected, He comes to the lakeside 00:03:51.19\00:03:54.26 and they're out on the fishing boat, 00:03:54.30\00:03:55.76 and have you any meat and they don't, 00:03:55.80\00:03:57.47 throw it on the other side, they get it full, 00:03:57.50\00:03:58.83 and then he come, it's the Lord. 00:03:58.87\00:04:00.37 And so they eat and then Peter 00:04:00.40\00:04:02.47 is tested by Christ three times. 00:04:02.50\00:04:05.01 So, Peter, do you love me? 00:04:05.04\00:04:07.81 He says, "You know, Lord, you know my heart" 00:04:07.84\00:04:11.31 before he was supposed, you know my heart. 00:04:11.35\00:04:13.58 It's interesting because when Jesus asked him, 00:04:13.62\00:04:15.28 "Do you love Me." He uses the word agape. 00:04:15.32\00:04:19.09 And the first time He asked him, 00:04:19.12\00:04:20.46 he says and this is John 21:15, 16, 17. 00:04:20.49\00:04:25.13 Do you agape me more than these? 00:04:25.16\00:04:28.46 Because remember He said, 00:04:28.50\00:04:29.83 "They'll forsake you, but I won't." 00:04:29.86\00:04:31.33 And Peter's like, "Lord, you know. 00:04:31.37\00:04:34.30 You know that I..." 00:04:34.34\00:04:35.67 And the word he uses is Phileo. You know, I Phileo You. 00:04:35.70\00:04:39.67 I don't agape You, I Phileo You. 00:04:39.71\00:04:41.18 And then Jesus asks him the second time, 00:04:41.21\00:04:42.78 "Do you love me, agape. 00:04:42.81\00:04:44.21 Do you agape Me." He doesn't say more than these. 00:04:44.25\00:04:46.41 And Peter says, "You know, I Phileo you." 00:04:46.45\00:04:48.42 And then the third time, He asked him, 00:04:48.45\00:04:50.85 Peter, "Do you even Phileo me?" 00:04:50.89\00:04:53.76 Now, what's the difference? Tell us the difference? 00:04:53.79\00:04:55.22 So agape love is a love that is describes God's love. 00:04:55.26\00:04:58.19 It's based on principles immovable. 00:04:58.23\00:05:00.06 Phileo love is like family. 00:05:00.10\00:05:02.13 It's like the love we have for blood where... 00:05:02.16\00:05:05.03 But you know there's some stuff, 00:05:05.07\00:05:06.43 that can one forsake here suckling child. 00:05:06.47\00:05:07.97 Yeah, she can, but I won't forsake you. 00:05:08.00\00:05:10.04 That's God's love. 00:05:10.07\00:05:11.41 So Phileo love is more like feeling an emotion. 00:05:11.44\00:05:13.68 Okay. 00:05:13.71\00:05:15.04 So when Peter was in the courtyard, 00:05:15.08\00:05:16.44 he was overwhelmed with his feelings and fear, 00:05:16.48\00:05:19.71 and he denied Christ. 00:05:19.75\00:05:21.12 Agape love doesn't do that. 00:05:21.15\00:05:22.48 Agape love stays true all the way. 00:05:22.52\00:05:23.89 It says in John 13:1 that Jesus loved them unto the end. 00:05:23.92\00:05:28.96 They forsook Him, they denied Him, 00:05:28.99\00:05:30.46 He still loved them, see. 00:05:30.49\00:05:32.13 So Jesus is questioning Peter. 00:05:32.16\00:05:34.76 And Peter finally says, 00:05:34.80\00:05:36.13 "I guess, I don't even Phileo You, 00:05:36.16\00:05:37.50 like I don't even have, I don't have any love really 00:05:37.53\00:05:39.57 in and of myself." 00:05:39.60\00:05:41.20 So here's this communication and then... 00:05:41.24\00:05:43.34 [inaudible] 00:05:43.37\00:05:44.77 He knows our hearts. Right. 00:05:49.04\00:05:50.71 And so that's what Peter says. 00:05:50.75\00:05:52.08 He says, Lord, you know, you know. You know me. 00:05:52.11\00:05:57.29 I don't have to give you any flowery speeches. 00:05:57.32\00:05:58.85 I don't have to pretend that I am. 00:05:58.89\00:06:00.29 You know the wretchedness of this heart, 00:06:00.32\00:06:02.19 and that's the bottom line for me. 00:06:02.22\00:06:03.56 Sometimes when we pray, we pray about 00:06:03.59\00:06:04.93 all the wretchedness of other people, 00:06:04.96\00:06:06.29 but what God really wants us 00:06:06.33\00:06:07.66 to get to the bottom of our wretchedness 00:06:07.70\00:06:09.36 who we are down here, how we feel about the people 00:06:09.40\00:06:12.30 that we're pretending with the situations 00:06:12.33\00:06:14.17 that we're trying to make look good 00:06:14.20\00:06:15.54 when really down in our hearts, and then God can cure that, 00:06:15.57\00:06:18.17 He can take care of, He can take that out. 00:06:18.21\00:06:20.21 But we got to be honest with Him. 00:06:20.24\00:06:21.58 We do. And we have to turn it over to Him... 00:06:21.61\00:06:23.28 Yeah. 00:06:23.31\00:06:24.65 Because we can't change ourselves. 00:06:24.68\00:06:26.01 Right. 00:06:26.05\00:06:27.38 You know, we cannot change ourselves. 00:06:27.42\00:06:28.75 So if we just give it to the Lord 00:06:28.78\00:06:30.12 and ask Him to show us who we are, 00:06:30.15\00:06:32.99 to show us because the heart is deceitful 00:06:33.02\00:06:35.19 and desperately wicked, right, and who can know it? 00:06:35.22\00:06:38.33 So we have to ask Him like, 00:06:38.36\00:06:41.23 "Lord, please show me who I am." 00:06:41.26\00:06:44.07 Can He changes? Can He? 00:06:44.10\00:06:46.50 Absolutely. 00:06:46.53\00:06:48.50 That's the good news right there. 00:06:48.54\00:06:49.87 Yes, that's right. That's right. 00:06:49.90\00:06:51.31 Only He can. Only He can. 00:06:51.34\00:06:54.01 So okay, so go ahead. I love that. 00:06:54.04\00:06:55.44 No, I'm good. I'm good. Okay, we have question. 00:06:55.48\00:06:57.58 We do have questions, but let's go to a song 00:06:57.61\00:07:00.22 before we jump into the questions. 00:07:00.25\00:07:02.42 That sounds good. 00:07:02.45\00:07:03.79 So we have the Burchfield Brothers 00:07:03.82\00:07:05.32 who they're going to bless us with "Be Still My Soul." 00:07:05.35\00:07:09.19 Be Still My Soul, so beautiful. 00:10:34.66\00:10:38.00 I love the Burchfield Brothers. Yes. 00:10:38.03\00:10:39.77 And we're talking about prayer, so be still. 00:10:39.80\00:10:41.87 Exactly, exactly and just focus on the Lord 00:10:41.90\00:10:45.94 and just talk to Him, just talk to Him. 00:10:45.97\00:10:49.11 We have some questions and answers. 00:10:49.14\00:10:50.58 Speaking of, I mean, you have the answers, 00:10:50.61\00:10:52.55 we have the questions. 00:10:52.58\00:10:53.92 That's right. 00:10:53.95\00:10:55.28 So you've been sending in your questions, 00:10:55.32\00:10:57.25 and please continue to do that. 00:10:57.29\00:10:59.42 We're going to ask answers as many as we can. 00:10:59.45\00:11:03.09 Jay, you have some. I do. 00:11:03.12\00:11:05.19 So well, first, this young lady, 00:11:05.23\00:11:08.70 Patty starts off by saying, "Guys, I am so glad 00:11:08.73\00:11:11.77 you will have the Daniel series 00:11:11.80\00:11:13.90 with quite a few exclamation marks. 00:11:13.94\00:11:16.50 I've been waiting for it." Praise God. 00:11:16.54\00:11:18.61 And her question is, "If we know that things 00:11:18.64\00:11:20.98 are going to get more challenging when we pray, 00:11:21.01\00:11:24.51 would it make any difference?" 00:11:24.55\00:11:28.32 And then I am, she says, "I am so scared 00:11:28.35\00:11:30.75 about what is going on. 00:11:30.79\00:11:32.15 I can see where this is going. 00:11:32.19\00:11:34.02 I can see the beast getting deeper and deeper 00:11:34.06\00:11:36.32 and becoming more visible at a fast and rapid rate. 00:11:36.36\00:11:40.80 But I know that it will get worse it is prophesied, 00:11:40.83\00:11:44.07 would it make any difference to pray." 00:11:44.10\00:11:47.97 So this is where I want to get into the Great Controversy 00:11:48.00\00:11:50.51 just a little bit, 00:11:50.54\00:11:52.37 and I want to get through Revelation also, 00:11:52.41\00:11:54.81 just the two, Book of Revelation, 00:11:54.84\00:11:57.11 the Great Controversy which I think 00:11:57.15\00:11:58.48 is inspired commentary on Revelation, 00:11:58.51\00:12:00.12 it's really powerful. 00:12:00.15\00:12:01.62 And in the Book of Revelation, we have a beast picture there. 00:12:01.65\00:12:05.95 There's two, one out of the sea, 00:12:05.99\00:12:07.32 one out of the land. 00:12:07.36\00:12:08.69 In Revelation 13:11, the beast out of the land, 00:12:08.72\00:12:11.79 it has two lamblike horns. 00:12:11.83\00:12:14.63 And those lamblike horns represent gentleness. 00:12:14.66\00:12:18.00 They represent Christian principles. 00:12:18.03\00:12:19.53 I believe that denotes liberty and freedom, 00:12:19.57\00:12:25.01 freedom of conscience in civil matters 00:12:25.04\00:12:28.11 as well as freedom of conscience 00:12:28.14\00:12:29.48 in religious matters. 00:12:29.51\00:12:31.11 And we talk about this nation 00:12:31.15\00:12:33.75 of the United States of America. 00:12:33.78\00:12:36.28 There's a difference between the political part of it 00:12:36.32\00:12:39.35 and the principles that made this nation great. 00:12:39.39\00:12:43.16 And a lot of people that are patriotic, 00:12:43.19\00:12:44.56 they don't always know 00:12:44.59\00:12:45.93 how to differentiate between the two. 00:12:45.96\00:12:47.93 And my loyalty is to the principles 00:12:47.96\00:12:51.73 that made this nation great 00:12:51.77\00:12:53.34 because those principles I think are represented 00:12:53.37\00:12:57.17 in the Book of Revelation. 00:12:57.21\00:12:58.97 They're represented in the Bible. 00:12:59.01\00:13:00.34 They're represented all through the Bible. 00:13:00.38\00:13:02.14 And, so when I stand for patriotism, 00:13:02.18\00:13:04.78 I stand for those principles, regardless of what, 00:13:04.81\00:13:07.75 how the government is changing that. 00:13:07.78\00:13:09.38 And I think David gave us the same example. 00:13:09.42\00:13:11.55 You know, he stood for principle, 00:13:11.59\00:13:13.22 regardless of what Saul did, regardless of how he acted. 00:13:13.25\00:13:16.19 David stood for principle. 00:13:16.22\00:13:17.56 He was a man after God's own heart. 00:13:17.59\00:13:19.39 So the question is asked there 00:13:19.43\00:13:22.10 is really powerful and really important one. 00:13:22.13\00:13:24.23 And the answer is powerful. 00:13:24.27\00:13:25.60 And that is, we've just gone through the entire Bible 00:13:25.63\00:13:29.07 and showed how powerful prayer is 00:13:29.10\00:13:31.51 and how prayer makes a difference. 00:13:31.54\00:13:33.21 And every crisis that we've looked at 00:13:33.24\00:13:35.51 is culminates in the Book of Revelation, 00:13:35.54\00:13:39.05 'cause the Book of Revelation 00:13:39.08\00:13:40.42 simply culminates all the past crisis. 00:13:40.45\00:13:42.48 So you're talking about what Abraham went through. 00:13:42.52\00:13:45.15 You're talking about what Moses went through. 00:13:45.19\00:13:46.79 You're talking about what David went through. 00:13:46.82\00:13:48.62 Well, what delivered them? What helped them? 00:13:48.66\00:13:51.66 Well, we left one guy out 00:13:51.69\00:13:53.33 and this guy really connects with the Book of Revelation, 00:13:53.36\00:13:56.56 and you know who that guy is? 00:13:56.60\00:13:58.20 Daniel. 00:13:58.23\00:13:59.70 Is Daniel a man of prayer, 00:13:59.73\00:14:01.10 like, was prayer important to him? 00:14:01.14\00:14:02.94 Three times a day at least. 00:14:02.97\00:14:05.51 Now, as soon as Daniel gets into political arena, 00:14:05.54\00:14:10.35 you got understand for our viewers, 00:14:10.38\00:14:12.05 we haven't done Daniel yet so you know this is, 00:14:12.08\00:14:14.78 it may be new territory for some of the viewers, 00:14:14.82\00:14:17.09 but as soon as Daniel's in the political arena, 00:14:17.12\00:14:19.85 and he is with three of his friends, 00:14:19.89\00:14:22.26 they're being educated to fill political positions. 00:14:22.29\00:14:25.46 And right away, they're confronted 00:14:25.49\00:14:27.30 with conflicts with what they believe conscientiously, 00:14:27.33\00:14:31.67 and it's on the level of food, 00:14:31.70\00:14:33.44 and what they're going to eat, what they're going to drink. 00:14:33.47\00:14:35.30 And the first thing they do is pray. 00:14:35.34\00:14:37.27 They give it to God. 00:14:37.31\00:14:38.64 And as Daniel surrenders to God, 00:14:38.67\00:14:42.11 he makes a request to be tried for 10 days. 00:14:42.14\00:14:45.05 He goes through this test, and he's proven 00:14:45.08\00:14:49.35 that he can be healthy on this vegetarian diet 00:14:49.38\00:14:52.25 of pulse and water, right? 00:14:52.29\00:14:54.32 And immediately, Chapter 2 delivers a dream 00:14:54.36\00:14:57.96 that Nebuchadnezzar has, the king has 00:14:57.99\00:14:59.69 and he can't remember. 00:14:59.73\00:15:01.30 And right away, Daniel and his friends 00:15:01.33\00:15:03.70 are threatened with the loss of their life. 00:15:03.73\00:15:05.97 What's the first thing they do? Pray. 00:15:06.00\00:15:08.27 Give us time, we gonna pray to God, 00:15:08.30\00:15:10.07 and they go and pray to God. 00:15:10.11\00:15:11.44 And no one in the whole kingdom can help Nebuchadnezzar. 00:15:11.47\00:15:15.78 He is so upset that all of his wise men, 00:15:15.81\00:15:17.81 all of his vice-presidents and all of his, you know, 00:15:17.85\00:15:21.12 council and you know, his cabinetry, 00:15:21.15\00:15:24.65 nobody can help him. 00:15:24.69\00:15:26.02 The senate can't help him, the congress can't help him, 00:15:26.05\00:15:27.96 none of the house representatives, 00:15:27.99\00:15:29.32 nobody can't help him, right? 00:15:29.36\00:15:30.69 Right. 00:15:30.73\00:15:32.06 And Daniel's praying and God gives him an answer. 00:15:32.09\00:15:35.16 And you know, when he goes in there, 00:15:35.20\00:15:36.67 he prays, he says, "We need to pray 00:15:36.70\00:15:38.13 that God won't let us perish 00:15:38.17\00:15:40.04 with all the wise men of Babylon. 00:15:40.07\00:15:41.64 We don't want to die with the senators, 00:15:41.67\00:15:43.10 we don't want to die with the house representatives, 00:15:43.14\00:15:45.54 you know." 00:15:45.57\00:15:46.91 When he comes out, he says, "Don't kill any of the senate, 00:15:46.94\00:15:50.35 don't kill any of the democrats, 00:15:50.38\00:15:51.78 don't kill any of the republicans," right? 00:15:51.81\00:15:54.02 "God's given us an answer," right? 00:15:54.05\00:15:56.72 So prayer changes us, not just gives us answer 00:15:56.75\00:15:59.25 but changes us, you see. 00:15:59.29\00:16:00.96 Daniel has this experience where his prayer time 00:16:00.99\00:16:04.53 caused him to bring an answer 00:16:04.56\00:16:05.89 that saved the house of representatives 00:16:05.93\00:16:08.56 whether they're democrats or republicans, 00:16:08.60\00:16:10.80 you can choose which ones are the bad guys. 00:16:10.83\00:16:12.23 Right. Right. That's up to you. 00:16:12.27\00:16:13.90 And so prayer is powerful. 00:16:13.94\00:16:15.94 Now, Daniel understands that 00:16:15.97\00:16:17.41 so by the time you get to Nebuchadnezzar 00:16:17.44\00:16:19.47 which is one president, prime minister, king 00:16:19.51\00:16:21.98 to the next one which is Belshazzar, 00:16:22.01\00:16:23.85 another president, prime minister, king, 00:16:23.88\00:16:25.21 to the next one which is Darius, 00:16:25.25\00:16:26.58 another president, prime minister, king. 00:16:26.61\00:16:27.95 Daniel's like he's hooked on prayer, 00:16:27.98\00:16:30.35 like evening, morning and at noon, 00:16:30.39\00:16:31.72 "Well, I pray and cry aloud and God will hear my voice." 00:16:31.75\00:16:34.56 And so, then the political guys, right, 00:16:34.59\00:16:38.56 the opposition party, whether that's republic or democrat, 00:16:38.59\00:16:41.86 we don't know, can't tell. 00:16:41.90\00:16:45.30 They're like, "We got to get this guy out of here" 00:16:45.33\00:16:47.00 and they try to find mud on him. 00:16:47.04\00:16:49.20 Man, he's squeaky clean, like this guy is a really clean 00:16:49.24\00:16:53.41 like, you know, this is Ben Carson type guy, 00:16:53.44\00:16:56.21 you know what I mean. 00:16:56.24\00:16:57.58 We can't find nothing on this guy. 00:16:57.61\00:16:58.95 And so what they do is they realize 00:16:58.98\00:17:01.62 that the only way we can get him 00:17:01.65\00:17:03.39 is if we bring up something in relation to his God, 00:17:03.42\00:17:08.19 so they talked Darius into passing a law 00:17:08.22\00:17:11.06 that nobody can ask a petition hallow. 00:17:11.09\00:17:13.66 No one can talk to anyone except for Darius, no God. 00:17:13.70\00:17:16.80 Daniel's like, always talking to God, 00:17:16.83\00:17:19.13 so now I mean, Daniel's faced with this incredible thing, 00:17:19.17\00:17:23.74 do I preserve my political position influence 00:17:23.77\00:17:28.64 or do I preserve prayer? 00:17:28.68\00:17:31.91 Which one do I choose? Right? 00:17:31.95\00:17:34.38 And which one does he choose? Prayer. 00:17:34.42\00:17:37.29 Is prayer powerful? Yeah. 00:17:37.32\00:17:38.65 He doesn't even let his shade down. 00:17:38.69\00:17:40.32 No. 00:17:40.36\00:17:41.69 You know, he doesn't hide that he is praying 00:17:41.72\00:17:43.99 three times a day. 00:17:44.03\00:17:45.36 This is his testimony. 00:17:45.39\00:17:46.73 This is the time when he's gonna give 00:17:46.76\00:17:48.10 all the glory to God. 00:17:48.13\00:17:49.46 If you're God and give glory to Him, 00:17:49.50\00:17:50.83 the hour of the judgment has come. 00:17:50.87\00:17:52.30 And so he prays openly and God delivers him. 00:17:52.33\00:17:56.07 Yeah, so whatever we're facing, the lions, 00:17:56.10\00:17:59.81 the devouring lions that are coming at us 00:17:59.84\00:18:02.14 in that pit that were being thrown into 00:18:02.18\00:18:03.65 in Revelation that the question was asked, 00:18:03.68\00:18:06.11 whatever facing, does prayer make a difference? 00:18:06.15\00:18:08.45 Oh, if it doesn't, then the Bible, 00:18:08.48\00:18:10.75 we just might as well throw the Bible out the window. 00:18:10.79\00:18:12.75 Because every single story throughout the Bible, 00:18:12.79\00:18:15.59 Old and New Testament tells us that the only way 00:18:15.62\00:18:18.23 that the church is going to have any kind of footing, 00:18:18.26\00:18:20.20 any kind of influence, any kind of real estate, 00:18:20.23\00:18:22.63 any kind of impact on this world, 00:18:22.66\00:18:25.07 is if the church lays aside politics 00:18:25.10\00:18:27.54 and become men and women of prayer. 00:18:27.57\00:18:30.41 That's it. That's our answer. 00:18:30.44\00:18:32.24 Yes. It's good. It's good. 00:18:32.27\00:18:33.61 Yeah, that is. That is. 00:18:33.64\00:18:35.01 What question do you have, Mom? 00:18:35.04\00:18:36.64 Since Adam and Eve had to eat from the tree of life 00:18:36.68\00:18:39.65 to maintain life, where we also 00:18:39.68\00:18:42.08 have to eat from the tree to maintain life as well? 00:18:42.12\00:18:44.99 That's an easy answer, yes. 00:18:45.02\00:18:47.09 So when they sinned, they weren't allowed access, 00:18:47.12\00:18:49.12 because they're mortal sinners. 00:18:49.16\00:18:51.29 And then when you go to the Book of Revelation, 00:18:51.33\00:18:52.83 it says, "Hey, there's a tree of life," Revelation 22, 00:18:52.86\00:18:55.03 "it's going to have 12 manner of fruit every month 00:18:55.06\00:18:57.13 it's going to give another 00:18:57.17\00:18:58.50 and we're going to eat of that tree, 00:18:58.53\00:18:59.87 live forever." 00:18:59.90\00:19:01.24 Easy answer. That's good. 00:19:01.27\00:19:04.54 Okay, here's another one, Jay. 00:19:04.57\00:19:06.17 It seems like there's a debate 00:19:06.21\00:19:07.64 among the different denominations 00:19:07.68\00:19:09.18 about whether Saturday or Sunday is the Sabbath. 00:19:09.21\00:19:12.25 Can you please elaborate on this topic? 00:19:12.28\00:19:14.58 Absolutely. 00:19:14.62\00:19:15.95 So from Genesis to Revelation, the Bible is crystal clear, 00:19:15.98\00:19:19.12 the seventh day Saturday 00:19:19.15\00:19:21.72 is the Sabbath of the Lord our God. 00:19:21.76\00:19:23.12 Now I say that coming from a Catholic background, 00:19:23.16\00:19:25.33 I was raised Catholic, went to church every Sunday. 00:19:25.36\00:19:27.40 And when I was first introduced 00:19:27.43\00:19:28.86 to the idea of going to church on Saturday, I thought... 00:19:28.90\00:19:31.23 It was my sister who talked to me about, I thought, 00:19:31.27\00:19:32.90 that's ridiculous, come on, who goes to church on Saturday, 00:19:32.93\00:19:36.27 that's not in the Bible. 00:19:36.30\00:19:37.81 Give me a Bible, I'll show you it's Sunday, 00:19:37.84\00:19:39.61 you know what I'm saying, that was my attitude. 00:19:39.64\00:19:41.51 And so I've researched this, 00:19:41.54\00:19:42.88 but here's the problem with Sabbath Sunday. 00:19:42.91\00:19:46.48 I've met a lot of people that go to church on Sunday, 00:19:46.51\00:19:49.88 who seem to be more Christian, more Christ like 00:19:49.92\00:19:53.79 than people that go to church on the Sabbath, 00:19:53.82\00:19:56.66 like sometimes when we look at the history, 00:19:56.69\00:19:59.09 for example of the Jews. 00:19:59.13\00:20:00.83 The Jews persecuted and killed Christ. 00:20:00.86\00:20:03.80 Now we're Christians because we follow Christ. 00:20:03.83\00:20:06.74 And it's very important for us not to become so Jewish 00:20:06.77\00:20:12.47 in the way that we focus on the law, 00:20:12.51\00:20:14.64 and keeping the Sabbath 00:20:14.68\00:20:16.01 that we actually end up persecuting Christ 00:20:16.04\00:20:19.21 in the way that we treat people. 00:20:19.25\00:20:21.08 So what I try to remind us 00:20:21.12\00:20:22.45 is what I think is really important is, 00:20:22.48\00:20:24.45 the Sabbath is not a theological doctrinal issue 00:20:24.49\00:20:27.79 as much as it is a sign of our salvation in Jesus, 00:20:27.82\00:20:33.50 our dependence on Christ. 00:20:33.53\00:20:34.86 It's a sign of righteousness by faith. 00:20:34.90\00:20:37.10 So when you look at the Sabbath 00:20:37.13\00:20:38.47 in its institution in the beginning, 00:20:38.50\00:20:40.94 i.e., the seventh day that God rested 00:20:40.97\00:20:43.81 when He created the world. 00:20:43.84\00:20:45.41 Here's the picture you get. 00:20:45.44\00:20:47.18 God created the whole world without us for us. 00:20:47.21\00:20:50.65 Nothing we could point to and say, Hey, 00:20:50.68\00:20:52.01 see that tree over there? 00:20:52.05\00:20:53.38 God made the trunk, I put on the limbs, 00:20:53.42\00:20:54.75 He put on the leaves, I put on the fruit. 00:20:54.78\00:20:56.12 No, we were made on the last day. 00:20:56.15\00:20:58.05 And the first thing that God asked us to do was to rest. 00:20:58.09\00:21:02.46 Like, Whoa! What? 00:21:02.49\00:21:04.13 Just rest, rest in everything I did for you, without you. 00:21:04.16\00:21:08.33 That's the Sabbath. 00:21:08.36\00:21:09.73 So when we fall, Jesus comes. 00:21:09.76\00:21:13.20 He trod the winepress alone 00:21:13.23\00:21:15.50 of the people who was none with Him. 00:21:15.54\00:21:17.01 He did it all for us, without us. 00:21:17.04\00:21:20.21 He accomplished our complete redemption. 00:21:20.24\00:21:22.24 He lived a perfect life, that's what we need. 00:21:22.28\00:21:24.31 He died our satisfactionary death 00:21:24.35\00:21:26.11 for our sins, that's what we need. 00:21:26.15\00:21:27.82 And He says, "Now I want you to rest 00:21:27.85\00:21:29.18 in everything I did." 00:21:29.22\00:21:30.55 In fact, just like creation week, 00:21:30.59\00:21:32.12 on the sixth day, when He was on the cross, 00:21:32.15\00:21:34.52 He said what God said, "It is finished." 00:21:34.56\00:21:37.89 And then He rested. 00:21:37.93\00:21:39.26 And so He wants us, the Sabbath is a sign of us resting 00:21:39.29\00:21:42.86 in His completed salvationary work. 00:21:42.90\00:21:44.93 When we see it that way, boom, it becomes significant. 00:21:44.97\00:21:49.40 And I think in that context, the Sabbath in the last day, 00:21:49.44\00:21:52.44 the call in Revelation 14:6, three angels' message, ABN, 00:21:52.47\00:21:55.98 worship God! 00:21:56.01\00:21:57.55 Revelation 6:7, the everlasting gospel. 00:21:57.58\00:21:59.38 The gospel is rest in Christ, trust in Christ, trust in Him. 00:21:59.41\00:22:01.72 He said, "Worship God who made heaven, and earth, 00:22:01.75\00:22:03.75 and sea and all." 00:22:03.79\00:22:05.12 Wait a minute, that's going back to Genesis, 00:22:05.15\00:22:06.59 that's creation week, 00:22:06.62\00:22:07.96 that remind us of the seventh day Sabbath. 00:22:07.99\00:22:09.56 "Worship God because the seventh day 00:22:09.59\00:22:11.86 is the Sabbath of the Lord, thy God." 00:22:11.89\00:22:13.23 Exodus 20:8-11. 00:22:13.26\00:22:15.43 Wait a minute, that's talking about the Sabbath. 00:22:15.46\00:22:17.03 Why is that in the everlasting gospel? 00:22:17.07\00:22:18.67 Don't receive the mark of the beast, 00:22:18.70\00:22:20.87 because the mark of the beast is all about trusting 00:22:20.90\00:22:23.30 what we can do, and not what God has done. 00:22:23.34\00:22:27.31 That's the real conflict. 00:22:27.34\00:22:28.68 It's not about a day, as much it is about trusting 00:22:28.71\00:22:31.31 what Christ has done or trusting on what we can do. 00:22:31.35\00:22:33.78 That's the last day conflict that we were looking at. 00:22:33.82\00:22:35.55 Yes, yes. 00:22:35.58\00:22:36.92 And I think this is a good time 00:22:36.95\00:22:38.35 to bring up the free offer again, 00:22:38.39\00:22:40.36 because all of this is in the Great Controversy, 00:22:40.39\00:22:44.46 and you can have a copy of the Great Controversy 00:22:44.49\00:22:48.96 with the New King James Version scripture in there 00:22:49.00\00:22:52.60 which will make it a little bit easier 00:22:52.63\00:22:54.24 for those who are not 00:22:54.27\00:22:55.60 used to the thee and thou and all of that. 00:22:55.64\00:22:58.14 And so you can get that 00:22:58.17\00:22:59.57 by calling us at 618-627-4651. 00:22:59.61\00:23:05.58 That's 618-627-4651 00:23:05.61\00:23:09.62 or emailing us and for the free offer. 00:23:09.65\00:23:13.09 So free, is it live@3abn.tv. 00:23:13.12\00:23:19.33 Whoa! 00:23:19.36\00:23:21.80 Yes. 00:23:21.83\00:23:23.16 Now this question that I'm about to ask you. 00:23:23.20\00:23:25.43 We've been getting a lot of these, 00:23:25.47\00:23:26.80 and I'm sure you've seen them in your email 00:23:26.84\00:23:28.70 because I've sent you some of these questions. 00:23:28.74\00:23:32.54 This one says, "Is the 144,000 00:23:32.57\00:23:36.85 a symbolic number or a literal number? 00:23:36.88\00:23:40.68 When is Daniel... 00:23:40.72\00:23:42.38 Okay, and then when is Daniel 00:23:42.42\00:23:43.75 scheduled for Salvation in Symbols? 00:23:43.79\00:23:46.05 April. 00:23:46.09\00:23:47.42 We're scheduled to record it in April. 00:23:47.46\00:23:48.79 Yeah, but then sometime after that. 00:23:48.82\00:23:50.36 Right. It won't air in April but... 00:23:50.39\00:23:52.59 So is it symbolic or literal? 00:23:52.63\00:23:54.83 So the 144,000 are mentioned in three places in the Bible, 00:23:54.86\00:23:58.43 Revelation 7, Revelation 14, 00:23:58.47\00:24:00.77 and they're not mentioned by name in Revelation 15, 00:24:00.80\00:24:03.47 but they are there on the sea of glass, 00:24:03.51\00:24:07.94 in the song of Moses and the Lamb. 00:24:07.98\00:24:09.48 A lot of people leave those verses, also described 144,000. 00:24:09.51\00:24:12.98 So if you're just gonna go from a biblical perspective, 00:24:13.01\00:24:15.92 the 144,000 in Revelation 7, 00:24:15.95\00:24:18.99 and 144,000 in Revelation Chapter 14 00:24:19.02\00:24:22.12 are symbolic, 00:24:22.16\00:24:24.26 and the reason we know this is because 00:24:24.29\00:24:26.53 the 144,000 in Revelation Chapter 7 00:24:26.56\00:24:29.90 takes place in the context 00:24:29.93\00:24:31.27 of the four winds being held back, 00:24:31.30\00:24:33.27 and the servants of God been sealed with the seal of God, 00:24:33.30\00:24:36.81 in preparatory to those winds being let loose, 00:24:36.84\00:24:39.71 and we know that's the close of probation, 00:24:39.74\00:24:41.08 that's the end of time. 00:24:41.11\00:24:42.44 So the seal of God comes upon all of God's people 00:24:42.48\00:24:46.31 before probation closes. 00:24:46.35\00:24:48.52 And a lot of people think, "Well, you know, that's us, 00:24:48.55\00:24:51.12 we're going to be sealed." 00:24:51.15\00:24:52.49 But another question that was in here, it says, 00:24:52.52\00:24:54.42 the question that was asked was, 00:24:54.46\00:24:55.79 when does the judgment start for the living? 00:24:55.82\00:24:58.06 And I'm going to answer that question 00:24:58.09\00:24:59.43 as I'm answering this one. 00:24:59.46\00:25:01.06 So this question, it supposes that the judgment started 00:25:01.10\00:25:04.47 for the dead first, and that's true. 00:25:04.50\00:25:07.20 Judgment which is synonymous with the sealing 00:25:07.24\00:25:10.21 began with the dead. 00:25:10.24\00:25:12.07 You cannot be sealed until you're judged. 00:25:12.11\00:25:15.61 In Revelation 7, the 144,000 are sealed. 00:25:15.64\00:25:19.11 So the 144,000 must include the dead 00:25:19.15\00:25:22.32 and the first dead person that came up in the judgment 00:25:22.35\00:25:25.59 must have been Adam, 00:25:25.62\00:25:26.96 because he was the first one to believe in the Lamb of God 00:25:26.99\00:25:29.26 who takes away the sins of the world 00:25:29.29\00:25:30.73 because God set up the sacrificial system 00:25:30.76\00:25:32.73 right at the very beginning. 00:25:32.76\00:25:34.20 He gave him the promise, 00:25:34.23\00:25:35.56 I'm going to put enmity between you and the woman. 00:25:35.60\00:25:37.47 This guy's coming that's going to bruise his head, 00:25:37.50\00:25:40.24 but his heels going to be bruised. 00:25:40.27\00:25:41.60 That's Jesus. 00:25:41.64\00:25:42.97 Adam saw the Lamb and he put faith in the Lamb. 00:25:43.00\00:25:45.47 And he comes up in the judgment and he's sealed. 00:25:45.51\00:25:48.31 And Eve comes up, and Abel comes up, 00:25:48.34\00:25:49.81 you know what I'm saying. 00:25:49.84\00:25:51.18 And so we go through the whole judgment. 00:25:51.21\00:25:52.55 is a symbolic number, 00:25:52.58\00:25:54.38 it's not literal. 00:25:54.42\00:25:55.78 And a lot of times Satan wants us to argue 00:25:55.82\00:25:58.79 about stuff that's important for a different reason. 00:25:58.82\00:26:01.82 We want to argue about the number, okay? 00:26:01.86\00:26:04.33 Let's not argue about the number. 00:26:04.36\00:26:06.59 Let's look at what's in there that's so important. 00:26:06.63\00:26:08.96 And what's in that Revelation 7 that's so significant 00:26:09.00\00:26:12.30 is this picture of the 12 tribes 00:26:12.33\00:26:14.44 because when you look at Revelation Chapter 7, 00:26:14.47\00:26:16.30 the 12 tribes, they are different 00:26:16.34\00:26:17.71 than the original tribes. 00:26:17.74\00:26:19.47 In Revelation 7, there's a tribe there 00:26:19.51\00:26:22.04 that wasn't in the original 12. 00:26:22.08\00:26:24.05 When you go back to Genesis 49, 00:26:24.08\00:26:26.31 Jacob is describing all of his children, 00:26:26.35\00:26:28.88 all the 12 tribes and he gets to verse 16 00:26:28.92\00:26:31.22 and he describes Dan. 00:26:31.25\00:26:32.59 He says, "Dan!" 00:26:32.62\00:26:33.96 Dan is like a serpent in the way, 00:26:33.99\00:26:35.42 like an adder in the path that bites the horse heel, 00:26:35.46\00:26:37.76 so the rider falls backwards. 00:26:37.79\00:26:39.19 He's a serpent, he's a backbiter, you know, 00:26:39.23\00:26:41.60 a serpent is the accuser, Revelation 12:10, 00:26:41.63\00:26:43.87 he accuses before God day and night. 00:26:43.90\00:26:45.90 In fact, the word Dan means to judge. 00:26:45.93\00:26:48.80 The word Daniel means "God is judge." 00:26:48.84\00:26:52.14 Interesting. 00:26:52.17\00:26:53.51 Let's make that transition, right? 00:26:53.54\00:26:54.88 Yeah. Daniel, God is judge. 00:26:54.91\00:26:56.48 So Dan is not in Revelation 7, because the message that God 00:26:56.51\00:27:00.52 is communicating there is not about a number. 00:27:00.55\00:27:02.92 The message God's communicating there is about character. 00:27:02.95\00:27:07.56 So Dan's gone because God isn't going to seal people 00:27:07.59\00:27:09.76 who are critical, judgmental, backbiting, serpent like. 00:27:09.79\00:27:12.66 So, who replaces Dan? Manasseh. 00:27:12.69\00:27:16.36 Now, Manasseh was the first son of Joseph. 00:27:16.40\00:27:20.67 And the reason why Joseph called Manasseh 00:27:20.70\00:27:23.10 was because Joseph was mistreated by his brothers. 00:27:23.14\00:27:25.37 You ever been mistreated 00:27:25.41\00:27:26.74 by your church brothers, sisters? 00:27:26.78\00:27:28.28 Okay. 00:27:28.31\00:27:29.64 And he went through a terrible time 00:27:29.68\00:27:31.01 but in the end, he's like, "God overruled this." 00:27:31.05\00:27:36.38 Communication with God, Lord, Lord, God overruled this. 00:27:36.42\00:27:39.32 And he has the son in Manasseh... 00:27:39.35\00:27:40.82 He has the son, he calls him Manasseh 00:27:40.86\00:27:42.19 because Manasseh means to forget. 00:27:42.22\00:27:45.39 God has caused me to forget, I'm going to call Manasseh 00:27:45.43\00:27:47.60 because God's caused me to forget. 00:27:47.63\00:27:49.26 And the word forget in the New Testament 00:27:49.30\00:27:51.90 is this root word for forgive. 00:27:51.93\00:27:54.80 God has caused me to forget or forgive 00:27:54.84\00:27:56.81 everything my brothers did to me. 00:27:56.84\00:28:00.18 And when they came, he says, 00:28:00.21\00:28:01.54 "Hey, don't, don't be afraid of me. 00:28:01.58\00:28:03.45 God overruled. God brought me here." 00:28:03.48\00:28:06.75 What do you mean God brought you here? 00:28:06.78\00:28:08.12 We would want... No, God brought me here. 00:28:08.15\00:28:10.49 See so as Christians, as believers, 00:28:10.52\00:28:12.35 we got to start thinking, wait a minute, 00:28:12.39\00:28:13.89 what's God doing it through this? 00:28:13.92\00:28:15.46 How is God going to overrule this? 00:28:15.49\00:28:17.23 God, I'm going to give You all this. 00:28:17.26\00:28:18.66 How are You going to work through this? 00:28:18.69\00:28:20.03 David's praying that prayer. Abraham's praying that prayer. 00:28:20.06\00:28:21.76 Moses is praying that prayer. 00:28:21.80\00:28:23.67 Right? Yeah. Yeah. 00:28:23.70\00:28:25.03 That's the power of prayer. 00:28:25.07\00:28:26.40 And so when you look at the 144,000 in Revelation 7, 00:28:26.43\00:28:29.57 you've got to see that picture, its character. 00:28:29.60\00:28:32.31 Who's going to be sealed? 00:28:32.34\00:28:33.68 You know, it's inclusive of all of God's people 00:28:33.71\00:28:36.78 from Genesis on, because all of God's people 00:28:36.81\00:28:39.48 have to be sealed from 1844 onward, 00:28:39.51\00:28:41.42 now I'm getting into theology, 00:28:41.45\00:28:42.78 but let me move to Revelation 14. 00:28:42.82\00:28:45.09 The mistake we make in Revelation Chapter 14 00:28:45.12\00:28:47.46 with 144,000 is we put them in the end time prophecy, 00:28:47.49\00:28:51.16 because Revelation 13 00:28:51.19\00:28:52.53 is talking about the mark of the beast. 00:28:52.56\00:28:54.00 Right? 00:28:54.03\00:28:55.36 And so right away, we say, Revelation 14, 00:28:55.40\00:28:57.07 it's in Revelation 13, 00:28:57.10\00:28:58.50 so it must be the end time people. 00:28:58.53\00:28:59.93 And then it's the three angels' messages in six through, 00:28:59.97\00:29:02.40 you know, so it must be the end time people. 00:29:02.44\00:29:03.91 But when you start Revelation Chapter 14, 00:29:03.94\00:29:07.01 it says that John looked and he saw a group of people... 00:29:07.04\00:29:11.01 Yeah. 00:29:11.05\00:29:12.38 And when you look at where they're standing, 00:29:12.41\00:29:13.78 this is the most important thing, 00:29:13.82\00:29:15.15 where they're standing. 00:29:15.18\00:29:17.19 You said Revelation... I've got my... 00:29:17.22\00:29:19.05 14... 14... 00:29:19.09\00:29:20.42 I've got my removable Bible here, 00:29:20.46\00:29:23.79 so I don't know if you guys have this. 00:29:23.83\00:29:25.16 Removable Bible? 00:29:25.19\00:29:26.76 They have these removable pages, 00:29:26.80\00:29:28.30 you take them out and put them in. 00:29:28.33\00:29:30.30 If you read verse 1, Revelation 14:1, 00:29:30.33\00:29:35.14 it says, "And I looked, and lo, 00:29:35.17\00:29:38.87 a lamb stood on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000." 00:29:38.91\00:29:45.45 Okay? 00:29:45.48\00:29:46.82 Mount Zion, according to Hebrews Chapter 12, 00:29:46.85\00:29:50.39 Mount Zion is the heavenly Jerusalem. 00:29:50.42\00:29:53.69 It's the church of the firstborn, 00:29:53.72\00:29:55.99 where names are registered in heaven. 00:29:56.02\00:29:57.86 This picture that John has seen here 00:29:57.89\00:29:59.89 is a picture of the redeemed in heaven, 00:29:59.93\00:30:02.86 after all this is over. 00:30:02.90\00:30:04.37 And the reason why God has given us that picture 00:30:04.40\00:30:06.03 is because God wants to encourage us, 00:30:06.07\00:30:07.70 I know, I just told you about the mark of the beast, 00:30:07.74\00:30:09.57 and I know I said that everyone small, great, rich, poor, 00:30:09.60\00:30:11.77 free and bond, they're going to receive the mark. 00:30:11.81\00:30:13.24 But let me show you that there's going 00:30:13.27\00:30:15.14 to be a people in heaven 00:30:15.18\00:30:16.95 who ain't gonna receive that mark. 00:30:16.98\00:30:18.55 They're gonna follow the Lamb wherever He goes, 00:30:18.58\00:30:20.42 see, that's the thing. 00:30:20.45\00:30:21.78 And then the question would be asked, 00:30:21.82\00:30:23.15 well, how did they get there? 00:30:23.18\00:30:24.52 Then you get to Revelation 14:6, 00:30:24.55\00:30:25.89 and I saw an angel flying through the midst of heaven, 00:30:25.92\00:30:27.26 they got the everlasting gospel. 00:30:27.29\00:30:28.62 Right. 00:30:28.66\00:30:29.99 So you can't use Revelation 14:1-5, 00:30:30.03\00:30:31.89 to designate biblically the 144,000 00:30:31.93\00:30:34.66 with only end time people because they're in heaven. 00:30:34.70\00:30:37.03 And when you get to heaven, everyone's there. 00:30:37.07\00:30:38.73 Resurrected and translated without death. 00:30:38.77\00:30:40.60 They're all there, so both of these scriptures 00:30:40.64\00:30:44.24 do not give evidence 00:30:44.27\00:30:46.04 for the 144,000 being a symbolic number. 00:30:46.07\00:30:48.54 Now it gets more significant than that. 00:30:48.58\00:30:50.35 When you go through the characteristics 00:30:50.38\00:30:51.78 in Revelation 14, you've got virgins, 00:30:51.81\00:30:54.72 male virgins, 00:30:54.75\00:30:56.75 if you want to get literal, because if you're going to do 00:30:56.79\00:30:58.85 the numbers, got to be literal everything else is 00:30:58.89\00:31:00.66 Jewish male virgins, 12 tribes 00:31:00.69\00:31:02.92 that haven't slept with women, right? 00:31:02.96\00:31:04.59 They haven't lost in the mire. 00:31:04.63\00:31:05.96 So you've got now 144,000 literal Jewish male virgins, 00:31:05.99\00:31:09.56 and a lot of our evangelical friends 00:31:09.60\00:31:11.60 will go with that interpretation. 00:31:11.63\00:31:13.20 And it's consistent, but we don't. 00:31:13.23\00:31:15.57 We know the virgins said Corinthians 11:2-4 represents 00:31:15.60\00:31:20.38 being committed 100% to the gospel. 00:31:20.41\00:31:23.88 Not defiled with women means, we're not defiled 00:31:23.91\00:31:26.08 with false doctrine of other churches, 00:31:26.11\00:31:27.82 we're committed to Christ, okay. 00:31:27.85\00:31:30.02 We know first fruits for example 00:31:30.05\00:31:31.39 means born again, James 1:18, 00:31:31.42\00:31:33.02 they're first fruits, they're born again, 00:31:33.05\00:31:34.72 to be a first fruit of his creatures. 00:31:34.76\00:31:36.73 So when we look at Revelation Chapter 14, 00:31:36.76\00:31:39.56 we see the symbolism there. 00:31:39.59\00:31:41.20 So the number must be symbolic too, 00:31:41.23\00:31:43.03 especially if it's in Mount Zion. 00:31:43.06\00:31:44.93 So, yes, it's a symbolic number. 00:31:44.97\00:31:46.30 Now, some of viewers may not be convinced by this little, 00:31:46.33\00:31:48.90 you know, two or three minute... 00:31:48.94\00:31:50.64 If they're not, I've got a book, I've written. 00:31:50.67\00:31:53.01 And they can get a hold of me at Light Bearers, 00:31:53.04\00:31:55.78 and the information will be up, and I'll send them 00:31:55.81\00:31:58.21 an electronic copy of the book, 00:31:58.25\00:32:00.15 or they can order a hard copy of the book. 00:32:00.18\00:32:02.02 It's an exhaustive study on the 144,000, all the verses, 00:32:02.05\00:32:05.92 every statement I could find on it, 00:32:05.95\00:32:07.29 and they can read it through and study it, 00:32:07.32\00:32:08.82 and maybe that'll help. 00:32:08.86\00:32:10.19 That's great. That's great. 00:32:10.23\00:32:12.46 You got another question? 00:32:12.49\00:32:15.36 I've got a question if you don't. 00:32:15.40\00:32:16.77 You go ahead with yours. 00:32:16.80\00:32:18.13 Okay, so this question is long, but the basis of this question 00:32:18.17\00:32:21.84 is talking about how God allows evil and people 00:32:21.87\00:32:28.41 who are alive today, that basically, 00:32:28.44\00:32:33.62 you know, it seems like, 00:32:33.65\00:32:34.98 why is God allowing all of this? 00:32:35.02\00:32:36.65 And then He goes on to say actually, 00:32:36.69\00:32:39.99 I think it's a lady that's asked this question. 00:32:40.02\00:32:41.82 It goes on to say, some people, some teacher say 00:32:41.86\00:32:44.69 that God picks people, you know, before they're born, 00:32:44.73\00:32:47.70 so you got all this evil taking place, 00:32:47.73\00:32:49.43 why is God allowing this if some people are put on earth 00:32:49.46\00:32:51.60 with no intention of ever being saved? 00:32:51.63\00:32:54.37 So the idea is... 00:32:54.40\00:32:55.74 Somewhat predestination? Predestination. 00:32:55.77\00:32:57.11 Okay. 00:32:57.14\00:32:58.47 God has predestined people to be lost 00:32:58.51\00:32:59.84 before they're even born, 00:32:59.87\00:33:01.21 they come and they do all this evil, 00:33:01.24\00:33:02.58 why does God allow this evil 00:33:02.61\00:33:03.95 if those people can't even be saved? 00:33:03.98\00:33:05.31 And so I would say, 00:33:05.35\00:33:06.68 this is such a good question by the way. 00:33:06.72\00:33:08.22 This is such a good question. 00:33:08.25\00:33:09.58 I remember and I was driving out here to 3ABN, 00:33:09.62\00:33:13.05 and I was looking 00:33:13.09\00:33:14.42 for a Christian station on the radio. 00:33:14.46\00:33:15.79 It's not hard, 00:33:15.82\00:33:17.16 you guys are in the Bible Belt, you know, 00:33:17.19\00:33:19.03 and so it's not like Christian stations like which one. 00:33:19.06\00:33:22.20 And I was listening to the station 00:33:22.23\00:33:23.57 these two guys... 00:33:23.60\00:33:24.93 And that was before you came within the range of 3ABN Radio. 00:33:24.97\00:33:26.94 Oh, yeah. That's right. Thank you. 00:33:26.97\00:33:30.44 I was trying to help brother out here. 00:33:30.47\00:33:32.37 I was, might be in St. Louis, so I don't know where I was, 00:33:32.41\00:33:35.44 way out of range. 00:33:35.48\00:33:36.81 Okay. All right. All right. 00:33:36.85\00:33:38.18 And I was listening these guys, and they were talking, 00:33:38.21\00:33:41.68 actually might even been for the most 3ABN Radio. 00:33:41.72\00:33:43.59 I don't know wasn't quite a while ago, 00:33:43.62\00:33:45.05 I've been coming here a long time like, 00:33:45.09\00:33:46.42 since I was a kid I've been coming to 3ABN, you know... 00:33:46.45\00:33:50.46 1990 something when we first came. 00:33:50.49\00:33:53.46 I know you guys started in 84', that's when we started too. 00:33:53.50\00:33:56.33 So these two guys were talking about the idea 00:33:56.36\00:33:58.67 that God predestined certain people will be saved 00:33:58.70\00:34:00.44 and certain people will be lost. 00:34:00.47\00:34:02.04 And they coupled this with the idea 00:34:02.07\00:34:05.64 that the people that are lost 00:34:05.67\00:34:07.41 are going to burn in hell for eternity, 00:34:07.44\00:34:11.05 never ending flames and I could, I mean, 00:34:11.08\00:34:14.55 I literally started crying when I thought 00:34:14.58\00:34:16.35 about that picture of God. 00:34:16.38\00:34:17.72 That God creates people with no hope of salvation 00:34:17.75\00:34:20.46 to burn them for all eternity. 00:34:20.49\00:34:22.22 What a misrepresentation of the character. 00:34:22.26\00:34:23.76 And it's not biblical by the way, 00:34:23.79\00:34:25.13 that's not biblical. 00:34:25.16\00:34:26.49 Predestination is biblical, but good news. 00:34:26.53\00:34:30.67 God has predestined everyone to be saved in Jesus Christ, 00:34:30.70\00:34:34.44 everyone. 00:34:34.47\00:34:35.80 Romans Chapter 28, excuse me, Romans 8:28 and onward, 00:34:35.84\00:34:39.84 clear on this. 00:34:39.87\00:34:41.21 For whom He predestined them He called. 00:34:41.24\00:34:43.48 When He called them He justified, 00:34:43.51\00:34:44.98 whom He justified them, He sanctified him, 00:34:45.01\00:34:46.68 or glorified him, and glorify. 00:34:46.72\00:34:48.68 So when you look through that list, 00:34:48.72\00:34:50.49 and you apply that to through the Bible, 00:34:50.52\00:34:53.52 you find that Jesus says, 00:34:53.56\00:34:55.32 "If I be lifted will draw all unto Me." 00:34:55.36\00:34:58.59 John 12:32. 00:34:58.63\00:34:59.96 But you're not saying that all will be saved. 00:35:00.00\00:35:01.80 No, I'm saying all will be drawn. 00:35:01.83\00:35:03.37 That is to make sure that... I'm saying all will be drawn. 00:35:03.40\00:35:05.17 Okay, 'cause we want to make sure 00:35:05.20\00:35:06.87 that the viewers understand 00:35:06.90\00:35:08.34 that's not what you're not saying. 00:35:08.37\00:35:09.70 God has predestined everyone to be saved, but He's going to, 00:35:09.74\00:35:11.97 He's a gentleman, He's gonna honor our choice. 00:35:12.01\00:35:14.54 So we've been included. 00:35:14.58\00:35:15.98 See, God hasn't determined before we're born 00:35:16.01\00:35:18.65 that certain ones are going to be saved 00:35:18.68\00:35:20.02 and certain ones are going to be lost. 00:35:20.05\00:35:21.38 Okay, God is all knowing. 00:35:21.42\00:35:22.82 He knows who's going to respond, 00:35:22.85\00:35:24.19 but He's determined everyone will be saved, 00:35:24.22\00:35:25.59 but He's not going to step in and force us to be saved, 00:35:25.62\00:35:29.39 but He's made provision for every single person. 00:35:29.42\00:35:31.89 Yes, so He has predestined us 00:35:31.93\00:35:34.86 based on His foreknowledge of our choices? 00:35:34.90\00:35:38.00 Well, I would say it this way, I would say, 00:35:38.03\00:35:39.57 He's predestined us and He knows our choices, 00:35:39.60\00:35:42.80 but we still have freedom to make those choices. 00:35:42.84\00:35:45.14 We still have freedom. 00:35:45.17\00:35:46.51 And we may even choose differently 00:35:46.54\00:35:48.94 in certain situations, 00:35:48.98\00:35:50.31 and I give you an example of this. 00:35:50.35\00:35:51.78 Do you remember when God said, 00:35:51.81\00:35:53.25 "Hey Jonah, go down in Nineveh." 00:35:53.28\00:35:56.25 Forty days they're done, so Jonah goes down in Nineveh, 00:35:56.28\00:36:00.16 40 days, you're done. 00:36:00.19\00:36:02.46 And Nineveh repents. 00:36:02.49\00:36:05.36 Did God know they could repent? Yeah. 00:36:05.39\00:36:07.20 Of course, He did, and so, 00:36:07.23\00:36:10.17 but Jonah didn't give that option, 00:36:10.20\00:36:12.07 God didn't give him the message to give that option. 00:36:12.10\00:36:13.54 He says 40 days and you're done. 00:36:13.57\00:36:15.27 So they repent and God's like, 00:36:15.30\00:36:18.31 "I'm not gonna destroy them, they repented." What? 00:36:18.34\00:36:21.64 And what does Jonah do? 00:36:21.68\00:36:23.01 He caught some attitude, he caught some attitude, 00:36:23.04\00:36:24.78 he's like what? 00:36:24.81\00:36:26.21 What? 00:36:26.25\00:36:27.58 I knew it, I knew it, like "Come on prophecy will fail, 00:36:27.62\00:36:30.52 tongues will cease, but love doesn't fail." 00:36:30.55\00:36:32.59 Right, 1 Corinthians 13, so we still have choices, 00:36:32.62\00:36:37.09 and we may surprise people like Jonah, you know, 00:36:37.13\00:36:42.60 in some of the choices we make. 00:36:42.63\00:36:44.57 And you could look at a lot of stories in the Bible, 00:36:44.60\00:36:46.10 where you see these things taking place. 00:36:46.13\00:36:47.84 There's a little bit of wiggle room there. 00:36:47.87\00:36:49.24 And so we'll say, "Well, why didn't God?" 00:36:49.27\00:36:51.14 God knew that, God knows every option, 00:36:51.17\00:36:52.77 God knows every option, every choice, 00:36:52.81\00:36:54.28 everything that's going to happen. 00:36:54.31\00:36:55.64 God knows it all. So He... 00:36:55.68\00:36:57.68 Here's the most important point, 00:36:57.71\00:36:59.05 Isaiah 53 "All we like sheep have gone astray, 00:36:59.08\00:37:02.58 we've turned, everyone their own way, 00:37:02.62\00:37:03.95 and God has laid upon Him 00:37:03.99\00:37:05.32 Jesus Christ the iniquity of us." 00:37:05.35\00:37:07.62 Okay, so everyone has been provided for in Jesus. 00:37:07.66\00:37:13.60 And when I tell people, you know, oh, I've done this, 00:37:13.63\00:37:15.40 I've done that, I'm too wicked, there's no way I can be saved. 00:37:15.43\00:37:18.70 Then there's no chance for me, right? 00:37:18.73\00:37:21.37 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. 00:37:21.40\00:37:22.74 The wages of sin is death. 00:37:22.77\00:37:24.14 The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. 00:37:24.17\00:37:26.78 So let's not cop out on God 00:37:26.81\00:37:30.75 with the idea that I'm so wicked, 00:37:30.78\00:37:32.15 I must have been predestined to be lost. 00:37:32.18\00:37:34.02 That's a cop out. 00:37:34.05\00:37:35.38 No, God has a place for every single person. 00:37:35.42\00:37:37.72 God is long suffering toward us, 00:37:37.75\00:37:39.09 not willing that any should be lost, 00:37:39.12\00:37:40.99 but all should repent. 00:37:41.02\00:37:42.36 Now, I have a study, we've just taken a few minutes on that, 00:37:42.39\00:37:44.49 I've got to study on predestination too, 00:37:44.53\00:37:46.56 and would love to share that with anyone whoever's asked, 00:37:46.59\00:37:49.53 you know, the question was asked here 00:37:49.56\00:37:50.90 by this lady and anyone else. 00:37:50.93\00:37:54.77 How can people reach you to? 00:37:54.80\00:37:56.71 Through like various, 00:37:56.74\00:37:58.27 you got the information that's gonna come up. 00:37:58.31\00:37:59.64 And we have the website. 00:37:59.67\00:38:01.01 Yep. That's great. 00:38:50.33\00:38:51.79 We have another question? 00:38:51.83\00:38:53.16 Yes, and this question says, "What should we pray 00:38:53.19\00:38:56.36 when praying for the leaders of our government?" 00:38:56.40\00:38:59.43 I'm so glad that they asked that question, 00:38:59.47\00:39:01.04 because that question takes us to some verses 00:39:01.07\00:39:03.41 that I really wanted to cover before we're finished here, 00:39:03.44\00:39:05.97 and those verses are in 1 Timothy... 00:39:06.01\00:39:09.01 Well, actually 1 Timothy Chapter 2, 00:39:09.04\00:39:10.98 but I'd like us to look at the context of these verses 00:39:11.01\00:39:13.65 because there's a beautiful context to this. 00:39:13.68\00:39:18.02 The question is, what should we pray for? 00:39:18.05\00:39:20.39 How should we pray? 00:39:20.42\00:39:21.76 What is it that you know God wants us to pray? 00:39:21.79\00:39:24.16 And so before we read 1 Timothy Chapter 2, 00:39:24.19\00:39:26.96 I want to just give you the context 00:39:27.00\00:39:28.33 of 1 Timothy Chapter 1. 00:39:28.36\00:39:29.70 So let me give the context and then, Jay, 00:39:29.73\00:39:31.27 if you could start reading in Chapter 2, 00:39:31.30\00:39:32.83 when I'm done with this context. 00:39:32.87\00:39:35.04 Paul in Chapter 1, 00:39:35.07\00:39:37.27 he's writing to this young man named Timothy. 00:39:37.31\00:39:39.11 It's toward the end of his ministry. 00:39:39.14\00:39:42.64 Paul has actually been brought before Nero, 00:39:42.68\00:39:45.68 in his ministry he was brought before Nero twice. 00:39:45.71\00:39:49.85 And Nero was like the president of Rome. 00:39:49.88\00:39:51.92 I mean, he was the king, he was the emperor. 00:39:51.95\00:39:54.96 And the second time he was brought before Nero, 00:39:54.99\00:39:56.66 he was executed. 00:39:56.69\00:39:58.43 He was a Roman soldier, I mean, a Roman citizen 00:39:58.46\00:40:00.20 so he was executed, his head was chopped off. 00:40:00.23\00:40:03.00 Peter was crucified 'cause he wasn't Roman and so, 00:40:03.03\00:40:06.00 but Romans couldn't be crucified 00:40:06.03\00:40:07.37 so he was executed... 00:40:07.40\00:40:08.74 So just to get the context of where Paul is at? 00:40:08.77\00:40:11.71 What he's facing? What he's gonna go through? 00:40:11.74\00:40:14.11 And then you read these words. Okay. 00:40:14.14\00:40:16.85 So his first point is, in verse 5 of Chapter 1 is, 00:40:16.88\00:40:19.95 "The end or the goal of the commandment 00:40:19.98\00:40:23.69 is charity, love," you know, Jesus told us that 00:40:23.72\00:40:26.52 in Mathew 22:38-40, He says, 00:40:26.55\00:40:28.76 you know, the great first law is, "Love your God 00:40:28.79\00:40:31.86 with all your heart, mind and soul." 00:40:31.89\00:40:33.23 The second is like it, 00:40:33.26\00:40:34.60 "Love your neighbor as yourself." 00:40:34.63\00:40:35.96 And Paul talks about this in Romans Chapter 13, 00:40:36.00\00:40:39.77 he talks about the duty we owe to the government and he says, 00:40:39.80\00:40:44.04 we should pay taxes due, taxes and due, 00:40:44.07\00:40:46.37 and we should obey the laws 'cause God sets up governments. 00:40:46.41\00:40:49.78 And governments aren't for people 00:40:49.81\00:40:51.55 who are law abiding citizens, 00:40:51.58\00:40:52.91 governments are for law breakers, 00:40:52.95\00:40:55.78 they're for criminals. 00:40:55.82\00:40:57.19 And if we are in harmony with the government, 00:40:57.22\00:40:59.49 then we don't have anything to fear from the government, 00:40:59.52\00:41:01.76 and we should support the government 00:41:01.79\00:41:04.26 in everything that has to do with the civil laws, 00:41:04.29\00:41:09.43 and then he starts quoting in Romans 13, 00:41:09.46\00:41:11.47 he starts quoting Bible verses, from the Ten Commandments. 00:41:11.50\00:41:16.30 And what's interesting is this. 00:41:16.34\00:41:19.27 He only quotes the second half or the last six commandments. 00:41:19.31\00:41:25.21 He never quotes 00:41:25.25\00:41:26.58 any of the first four commandments. 00:41:26.61\00:41:27.95 And then when he's done quoting a few of them, 00:41:27.98\00:41:30.39 he doesn't quote all of them, he says, 00:41:30.42\00:41:31.75 "And if there's any other commandment, 00:41:31.79\00:41:33.22 it is briefly comprehended in this 00:41:33.25\00:41:35.32 'Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.'" 00:41:35.36\00:41:38.13 Now the odd thing about that, 00:41:38.16\00:41:39.69 that's so instructive for us today is, 00:41:39.73\00:41:42.80 there are other commandments but they're not comprehended 00:41:42.83\00:41:45.03 in loving your neighbors as yourself. 00:41:45.07\00:41:46.97 The other commandments that he doesn't quote 00:41:47.00\00:41:48.34 from the first four are comprehended 00:41:48.37\00:41:50.04 in loving God with all your heart, mind and soul. 00:41:50.07\00:41:51.87 Paul is talking about relating to civil government, 00:41:51.91\00:41:56.75 and he says when it comes to civil government, 00:41:56.78\00:41:58.85 that has nothing to do with the first four commandments. 00:41:58.88\00:42:01.38 When it comes to obeying civil government, 00:42:01.42\00:42:03.02 it has nothing to do 00:42:03.05\00:42:04.39 with how you keep the first four commandments. 00:42:04.42\00:42:06.19 He's separating church and state right now 00:42:06.22\00:42:08.62 in Romans 13. 00:42:08.66\00:42:09.99 Okay. 00:42:10.03\00:42:11.36 He's saying, if there is any law 00:42:11.39\00:42:12.73 that has to do with the last six commandments, 00:42:12.76\00:42:14.10 "Thou shall not kill" for example, 00:42:14.13\00:42:15.86 civil governments support that 00:42:15.90\00:42:18.07 and civil governments by the way 00:42:18.10\00:42:19.80 are not breaching liberty of conscience and freedom 00:42:19.83\00:42:23.91 by enforcing laws, 00:42:23.94\00:42:25.27 they're in harmony with the last six commandments. 00:42:25.31\00:42:27.51 There's no freedom to break those last six commandments 00:42:27.54\00:42:30.15 that we should support in civil government 00:42:30.18\00:42:32.18 and think that we're giving 00:42:32.21\00:42:33.55 freedom of conscience to do that. 00:42:33.58\00:42:34.92 Right. No, no, no. 00:42:34.95\00:42:36.28 But the first four commandments, 00:42:36.32\00:42:37.65 they're excluded from that, so any civil law 00:42:37.69\00:42:40.49 that steps into those first four Commandments, 00:42:40.52\00:42:43.19 i.e., the Sabbath, forcing worship, 00:42:43.22\00:42:46.70 we are not obligated to obey those 00:42:46.73\00:42:48.10 according to Romans Chapter 13. 00:42:48.13\00:42:50.03 And that to me... That whole thing is masterful. 00:42:50.07\00:42:54.90 And Paul just really did a good job there. 00:42:54.94\00:42:57.34 That was just amazing what he did right there. 00:42:57.37\00:42:59.87 And so in 1 Timothy now, that's the context, 00:42:59.91\00:43:02.61 he's coming towards the end of his life. 00:43:02.64\00:43:04.15 He's saying we need to go... 00:43:04.18\00:43:05.51 Love is our goal, love is our goal, love is our goal. 00:43:05.55\00:43:07.35 And then he says this, he talks about 00:43:07.38\00:43:08.88 how the law is made, 00:43:08.92\00:43:10.25 again in 1 Timothy, he talks about... 00:43:10.29\00:43:12.32 We know that verse 8 the law is made, 00:43:12.35\00:43:14.72 "We know the law is good if a man uses it lawfully." 00:43:14.76\00:43:18.16 For verse 9, "Knowing this that the law is not made 00:43:18.19\00:43:20.30 for a righteous man but for a lawless." 00:43:20.33\00:43:22.03 For disobedient, for law breakers, 00:43:22.06\00:43:23.93 for ungodly etc, etc. 00:43:23.97\00:43:25.43 So same points he's making. 00:43:25.47\00:43:27.07 Then he goes down and he says this, 00:43:27.10\00:43:29.87 "This is a faithful saying," verse 15, 00:43:29.90\00:43:32.37 "And worthy of all acceptation that Christ Jesus 00:43:32.41\00:43:34.64 came to the world to save sinners, 00:43:34.68\00:43:36.01 of whom I am chief." 00:43:36.04\00:43:38.81 Why is he chief? Why does he say, I'm the chief. 00:43:38.85\00:43:41.95 Because when Paul got on the scene, 00:43:41.98\00:43:43.79 he was a religious zealot 00:43:43.82\00:43:45.85 that was violating the principles 00:43:45.89\00:43:47.39 that he talked about in Romans 13. 00:43:47.42\00:43:49.26 He was using the church to persecute Christians, 00:43:49.29\00:43:53.16 who weren't worshiping God according to the way 00:43:53.19\00:43:55.46 he thought God should be worshiped. 00:43:55.50\00:43:56.83 He was persecuting them to death. 00:43:56.87\00:43:59.60 And God through Christ got his attention 00:43:59.63\00:44:02.80 on the road to Damascus, came to him, 00:44:02.84\00:44:04.81 and this light almost blinded him, right? 00:44:04.84\00:44:07.31 And said, "Paul, why you're persecuting Me?" 00:44:07.34\00:44:09.84 How am I persecuting you? 00:44:09.88\00:44:11.21 "You're persecuting My people, you're persecuting Me." 00:44:11.25\00:44:13.88 And so Paul was like, wow, 00:44:13.92\00:44:15.25 that's what he learned his lesson 00:44:15.28\00:44:16.62 of church-state separation, right? 00:44:16.65\00:44:18.15 And that's what he means, when he says 00:44:18.19\00:44:19.52 "I'm the chief of sinners 'cause here I am, 00:44:19.55\00:44:20.89 killing Christians under the guise of religion." 00:44:20.92\00:44:24.79 Talk about Revelation 13, 00:44:24.83\00:44:26.93 and that whole controversy right there. 00:44:26.96\00:44:28.66 Killing Christians under the guise of religion. 00:44:28.70\00:44:31.27 And then he goes on to say, "Howbeit for this 00:44:31.30\00:44:33.20 cause I obtained mercy," verse 16, 00:44:33.23\00:44:35.47 "that in me first Jesus Christ 00:44:35.50\00:44:37.17 might shew forth all longsuffering, 00:44:37.21\00:44:38.74 for a pattern to them who should hereafter 00:44:38.77\00:44:40.31 believe on him to everlasting life." 00:44:40.34\00:44:41.68 'Cause I did it ignorantly. 00:44:41.71\00:44:43.48 I didn't know, but when he knew... 00:44:43.51\00:44:45.51 When the mark of the beast issue comes up 00:44:45.55\00:44:47.02 and when people realize seventh day is a Sabbath, 00:44:47.05\00:44:49.55 can't enforce another day by law, don't do that. 00:44:49.58\00:44:53.79 People are ignorant of it, they're gonna be enlightened 00:44:53.82\00:44:55.62 and then there's no excuse. 00:44:55.66\00:44:57.13 That's when the mark of the beast becomes enforced. 00:44:57.16\00:44:58.59 No one's got the mark of the beast right now. 00:44:58.63\00:44:59.96 Nobody does. 00:45:00.00\00:45:01.33 But when it's enforced, that when it becomes an issue. 00:45:01.36\00:45:04.23 That's the context of this, right? 00:45:04.27\00:45:06.10 I'm the chief of sinners but God saved me. 00:45:06.13\00:45:07.97 So if a religious leader who is persecuting people 00:45:08.00\00:45:10.87 under the guise of religion, persecuting God's people 00:45:10.91\00:45:13.27 under the guise of religion can be saved. 00:45:13.31\00:45:16.28 You see what I'm saying? 00:45:16.31\00:45:17.65 Then you get to 1 Timothy Chapter 2, 00:45:17.68\00:45:19.91 let's just read verses 1 and 2. 00:45:19.95\00:45:21.28 Okay. 00:45:21.32\00:45:22.65 "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, 00:45:22.68\00:45:27.26 prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks 00:45:27.29\00:45:30.76 be made for all men..." 00:45:30.79\00:45:32.36 For who? Keep reading. 00:45:32.39\00:45:33.73 "For kings and all who are in authority, 00:45:33.76\00:45:36.77 that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life 00:45:36.80\00:45:40.54 in all godliness and reverence." 00:45:40.57\00:45:42.60 There's some words that aren't here, 00:45:42.64\00:45:45.41 I don't know if you didn't hear them. 00:45:45.44\00:45:47.21 Criticism's not there, dungeons not there, 00:45:47.24\00:45:50.98 you know, they're not there. 00:45:51.01\00:45:52.98 And notice what he says, "I exhort therefore." 00:45:53.01\00:45:55.05 What therefore? What do you mean therefore? 00:45:55.08\00:45:56.42 Therefore what I just said, how Christ saved me, 00:45:56.45\00:45:58.82 I'm a religious leader persecuting... 00:45:58.85\00:46:00.62 Because He saved me, I'm exhorting you. 00:46:00.66\00:46:03.06 There's gonna be kings, and presidents, 00:46:03.09\00:46:04.56 and princes and all these leaders, 00:46:04.59\00:46:06.09 they're gonna be doing what I was doing. 00:46:06.13\00:46:08.26 But I want you to pray for them. 00:46:08.30\00:46:10.63 And I want you to intercede for them, 00:46:10.67\00:46:13.34 and I want you to give thanks for them, 00:46:13.37\00:46:14.84 and I want you to supplicate for them. 00:46:14.87\00:46:16.20 He just keeps... 00:46:16.24\00:46:17.57 He doesn't say, pray for them, he says pray, 00:46:17.61\00:46:18.94 supplicate, intercede, commit... 00:46:18.97\00:46:21.44 Uh-uh, uh-uh, you know like, yeah, get with the Christians, 00:46:21.48\00:46:25.01 what are you doing or failing to do. 00:46:25.05\00:46:27.65 Yes. 00:46:27.68\00:46:29.02 And so the question that's been asked is, you know, 00:46:29.05\00:46:32.55 what specifically should we, you know, 00:46:32.59\00:46:34.62 what is it that we should pray? 00:46:34.66\00:46:35.99 Okay, let's keep reading, Yvonne, keep reading for us, 00:46:36.02\00:46:37.79 I want you to read verses 3, 00:46:37.83\00:46:39.93 all the way down now to verse 8. 00:46:39.96\00:46:42.56 Okay. 00:46:42.60\00:46:43.93 "For this is good and acceptable 00:46:43.97\00:46:45.53 in the sight of God our Savior, 00:46:45.57\00:46:47.44 who desires all men to be saved 00:46:47.47\00:46:49.74 and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 00:46:49.77\00:46:51.91 For there is one God and one Mediator 00:46:51.94\00:46:54.54 between God and men, 00:46:54.58\00:46:55.98 the Man Christ Jesus, 00:46:56.01\00:46:57.85 who gave Himself a ransom for all, 00:46:57.88\00:47:00.05 to be testified in due time, for which I was appointed 00:47:00.08\00:47:04.39 a preacher and an apostle, 00:47:04.42\00:47:06.22 I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying, 00:47:06.25\00:47:09.12 a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 00:47:09.16\00:47:12.49 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, 00:47:12.53\00:47:16.26 lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." 00:47:16.30\00:47:19.60 Wow! 00:47:19.63\00:47:20.97 Lifting up holy hands is a biblical injunction 00:47:21.00\00:47:23.04 when we pray. 00:47:23.07\00:47:24.41 Yes. 00:47:24.44\00:47:25.77 I don't know if you ever watch sports, 00:47:25.81\00:47:27.71 you watch the Olympics, 00:47:27.74\00:47:29.41 you watch, you know, these different games, 00:47:29.44\00:47:31.41 when people win what do they do? 00:47:31.45\00:47:33.15 Wow! We won, we won. 00:47:33.18\00:47:35.05 Right? Yeah. Yeah. 00:47:35.08\00:47:36.42 So the idea psychologically is when you're lifting up, 00:47:36.45\00:47:38.55 you're claiming victory. 00:47:38.59\00:47:40.16 You're claiming the power of heaven. 00:47:40.19\00:47:41.52 You're lifting up to heaven, you're claiming victory, right? 00:47:41.56\00:47:43.26 Okay. 00:47:43.29\00:47:44.63 But notice, you're lifting up holy hands without wrath. 00:47:44.66\00:47:49.73 I mean, we got so much wrath against our government, 00:47:49.76\00:47:51.83 against our leaders, against that party this, 00:47:51.87\00:47:54.04 and that party that, and they're doing this, 00:47:54.07\00:47:55.60 and they're doing that, 00:47:55.64\00:47:56.97 we've missed the whole injunction 00:47:57.01\00:47:58.34 and the question was asked is 00:47:58.37\00:47:59.74 "What should we be praying for?" 00:47:59.77\00:48:01.11 Well, it says here, 00:48:01.14\00:48:03.18 "Who will have all men to be saved 00:48:03.21\00:48:04.55 and come to the knowledge of the truth." 00:48:04.58\00:48:05.91 That's what we needed to pray for. 00:48:05.95\00:48:07.75 We needed to pray that these presidents 00:48:07.78\00:48:09.12 and princes that they are saved 00:48:09.15\00:48:11.45 and come to the knowledge of the truth. 00:48:11.49\00:48:12.82 Yes. That's what we're praying for. 00:48:12.85\00:48:14.19 That's what Paul's telling us to pray for. 00:48:14.22\00:48:16.29 And the only way that we can enter 00:48:16.32\00:48:18.49 into this experience, right? 00:48:18.53\00:48:21.06 Is if we let all the stuff that we have, 00:48:21.10\00:48:23.33 you know, all the stuff that we have. 00:48:23.37\00:48:24.70 Yes. Man, I don't like that guy. 00:48:24.73\00:48:26.07 I don't like that person. 00:48:26.10\00:48:27.44 I don't like what they're doing. 00:48:27.47\00:48:28.80 I don't like their policy, blah-blah. 00:48:28.84\00:48:30.17 We gotta all that stuff, gotta give that all to God. 00:48:30.21\00:48:31.54 We gotta remember, 00:48:31.57\00:48:32.91 God took care of Sodom and Gomorrah. 00:48:32.94\00:48:35.44 God took care of Egypt and Pharaoh. 00:48:35.48\00:48:38.18 God took care of Saul, right? 00:48:38.21\00:48:40.68 God took care of the Jewish leaders 00:48:40.72\00:48:42.98 and the political Roman leaders in the early church time. 00:48:43.02\00:48:46.45 God made a way. God made a way. God made a way. God made a way. 00:48:46.49\00:48:49.66 Are we forgetting that? 00:48:49.69\00:48:51.36 Or we're getting so immersed, you know, 00:48:51.39\00:48:53.03 people tell me sometimes, they say "I don't watch TV, 00:48:53.06\00:48:56.40 I just watch the news." 00:48:56.43\00:48:57.77 I would rather have you 00:49:02.60\00:49:03.94 watching cartoons than the news. 00:49:03.97\00:49:05.81 'Cause at least you know cartoons aren't real. 00:49:05.84\00:49:07.94 You don't know the news isn't real. 00:49:07.98\00:49:09.31 It's not. But you don't know that. 00:49:09.34\00:49:10.68 Right. You think it is. 00:49:10.71\00:49:12.11 And the news today is not news. 00:49:12.15\00:49:14.25 Just for your information sake, anyone out there 00:49:14.28\00:49:16.28 that can relate to this, the news is not news. 00:49:16.32\00:49:18.52 The news is brainwashing. 00:49:18.55\00:49:20.29 The news is telling you how to think, how to believe. 00:49:20.32\00:49:22.82 How to, you know what I'm saying... 00:49:22.86\00:49:24.19 Yes it is. 00:49:24.23\00:49:25.56 And depending on which channel you watch, 00:49:25.59\00:49:27.30 you know, if you watch one channel... 00:49:27.33\00:49:28.66 And it can go either way. Oh, that's what you think. 00:49:28.70\00:49:30.50 If you watch this channel, you're gonna get 00:49:30.53\00:49:33.34 totally left perspective, if you watch this channel, 00:49:33.37\00:49:36.77 you're gonna get a totally right perspective. 00:49:36.81\00:49:38.87 It's like, who's doing objective news. 00:49:38.91\00:49:41.48 Yes. And here's the deal... 00:49:41.51\00:49:42.84 All news has a spin now. Yeah. 00:49:42.88\00:49:44.88 And they do it over, and over, and over, and over. 00:49:44.91\00:49:49.65 I mean, I can turn on any of those news channels 00:49:49.68\00:49:52.52 in the morning and I'll turn on the evening, 00:49:52.55\00:49:54.46 and they're saying the same thing again and again. 00:49:54.49\00:49:55.92 And you know what that is? 00:49:55.96\00:49:57.29 That's brainwashing. That's true. 00:49:57.33\00:49:58.66 Yeah, repetition deepens the impressions. 00:49:58.69\00:50:00.03 Yes. Yes. Yes. So... 00:50:00.06\00:50:01.40 That's what they do in other, you know, countries 00:50:01.43\00:50:03.77 that were there, you know it is. 00:50:03.80\00:50:05.13 And we think it's freedom. Yeah. 00:50:05.17\00:50:06.50 We think, it's freedom of the press 00:50:06.53\00:50:07.87 or the media or whatever, 00:50:07.90\00:50:09.24 and we don't realize that we have digressed 00:50:09.27\00:50:11.67 from what the actual purpose was to report. 00:50:11.71\00:50:13.71 Yes. 00:50:13.74\00:50:15.08 And then, you know, in Philippians 4:10, 00:50:15.11\00:50:17.55 "Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, 00:50:17.58\00:50:19.61 whatsoever things are pure, 00:50:19.65\00:50:20.98 whatsoever things are of good report, 00:50:21.02\00:50:22.35 if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, 00:50:22.38\00:50:23.85 think on these things. 00:50:23.89\00:50:25.72 Oh, man. 00:50:25.75\00:50:27.09 So we're missing our heavenly mandate. 00:50:27.12\00:50:28.86 And this is happening all around us. 00:50:28.89\00:50:30.83 And it made me so sick at one point 00:50:30.86\00:50:33.29 because I found myself getting pulled into it, you know, 00:50:33.33\00:50:35.16 oh, yeah, you know, 00:50:35.20\00:50:36.83 and I'm like, everyone around them like, 00:50:36.87\00:50:38.30 what in the world are we talking about this stuff for? 00:50:38.33\00:50:41.20 Let's stop talking about this, because our biblical mandate 00:50:41.24\00:50:44.64 is to be other worldliness world, 00:50:44.67\00:50:47.78 to be ambassadors for heaven, 00:50:47.81\00:50:49.61 to be in a different place in a different space, you know. 00:50:49.64\00:50:51.91 Which doesn't mean that, we don't have our principles. 00:50:51.95\00:50:56.62 Yes. 00:50:56.65\00:50:57.99 Right? Right. 00:50:58.02\00:50:59.35 Upon which we, you know, we should be voting. 00:50:59.39\00:51:02.02 We should be voting for issues, yes. 00:51:02.06\00:51:03.63 For issues and voting with a principled base. 00:51:03.66\00:51:07.60 And defending the principles of that lamblike right, 00:51:07.63\00:51:10.83 those lamblike horns, those freedom of religion, 00:51:10.87\00:51:14.17 civil freedoms, we need to be based on that 00:51:14.20\00:51:16.74 following the guideline that Paul gives us in Romans 13, 00:51:16.77\00:51:19.37 separating church and state. 00:51:19.41\00:51:20.74 Yes. 00:51:20.78\00:51:22.11 Dealing with the issues that have to do 00:51:22.14\00:51:23.48 with loving your neighbor as yourself. 00:51:23.51\00:51:24.85 Supporting that, paying our taxes, good citizens, 00:51:24.88\00:51:26.21 leading a quiet and peaceable life. 00:51:26.25\00:51:27.58 Right? That's right. That's right. 00:51:27.62\00:51:28.95 Not taking those political stand, and it's hard, 00:51:28.98\00:51:30.69 it's hard to navigate that for the Bible tells us how. 00:51:30.72\00:51:34.52 Daniel shows us how to do it, you know, I mean, 00:51:34.56\00:51:36.96 when you look through all of these biblical pictures, 00:51:36.99\00:51:40.76 stories, history, it's a beautiful picture. 00:51:40.80\00:51:44.60 And when you do get caught up in it, 00:51:44.63\00:51:45.97 you get frustrated. 00:51:46.00\00:51:47.34 Man, just got to give it to God. 00:51:47.37\00:51:48.70 Give it to God. Give it to God. That's right. 00:51:48.74\00:51:50.07 Let Him have it. Let Him have it. 00:51:50.11\00:51:51.44 Let Him have it. Yeah. 00:51:51.47\00:51:52.81 Because Joseph and Daniel 00:51:52.84\00:51:54.41 worked in political circumstances 00:51:54.44\00:51:57.45 that were less than ideal for them. 00:51:57.48\00:51:59.51 Daniel was with the astrologers and soothsayers. 00:51:59.55\00:52:02.32 He was over that whole wise men department of the cabinet. 00:52:02.35\00:52:08.76 He worked with three different kings, 00:52:08.79\00:52:10.16 three different presidents. 00:52:10.19\00:52:11.53 Three different presidents he worked with. 00:52:11.56\00:52:12.89 Yes. That's right. 00:52:12.93\00:52:14.26 And still maintained his integrity 00:52:14.30\00:52:15.63 throughout all of that, and they couldn't find 00:52:15.66\00:52:17.07 anything wrong with him, no fault. 00:52:17.10\00:52:19.23 Yeah. 00:52:19.27\00:52:20.60 So they had to find a way to attack him 00:52:20.64\00:52:21.97 which was through him worshiping God. 00:52:22.00\00:52:24.64 Right. Yeah, he, they... 00:52:24.67\00:52:26.78 That the thing that they said about Daniel, 00:52:26.81\00:52:28.18 over and over again was, 00:52:28.21\00:52:30.25 there was the Spirit of the God was in him. 00:52:30.28\00:52:33.52 The Spirit of the God's in him. The Spirit of the God's in him. 00:52:33.55\00:52:36.79 He had a different spirit. That's right. 00:52:36.82\00:52:38.39 Totally different spirit. Yeah. 00:52:38.42\00:52:40.39 And I think part of that didn't serve him well. 00:52:40.42\00:52:43.19 Under Belshazzar, I think 00:52:43.22\00:52:44.79 Daniel disappeared from political presence. 00:52:44.83\00:52:47.93 His political presence disappeared, you know. 00:52:47.96\00:52:50.07 He was older by then. He was, but also he wasn't... 00:52:50.10\00:52:54.04 He, because he maintained his integrity, 00:52:54.07\00:52:56.81 and because Belshazzar didn't appreciate that, 00:52:56.84\00:53:00.11 he went down. 00:53:00.14\00:53:01.48 And then when he was soft, well, 00:53:01.51\00:53:02.84 there was a guy that used to really be close to your dad 00:53:02.88\00:53:05.25 and used to counsel your dad. 00:53:05.28\00:53:06.61 His name was Daniel, he had a good spirit. 00:53:06.65\00:53:09.08 Okay, bring him. That's right. 00:53:09.12\00:53:10.45 Let's go ahead and bring him, you see. 00:53:10.49\00:53:12.79 So when we follow principle, we may not always be, you know, 00:53:12.82\00:53:16.22 in the limelight, people may not be listening to us. 00:53:16.26\00:53:18.59 What does it mean to compromise? 00:53:18.63\00:53:19.96 See, what politics do, does is it changes with the wind 00:53:20.00\00:53:23.93 to please, you know, the crowd to go along. 00:53:23.97\00:53:26.94 Daniel didn't do that. That's right. Right. 00:53:26.97\00:53:28.40 And even if he lost position and influence, 00:53:28.44\00:53:30.17 he didn't do that, he stayed the course. 00:53:30.21\00:53:32.57 So God is calling us to stay the course. 00:53:32.61\00:53:34.14 It may not be popular in our time to stay the course. 00:53:34.18\00:53:37.05 But we've got to let the Bible be our mandate, 00:53:37.08\00:53:39.71 our instruction book. 00:53:39.75\00:53:41.08 Principle, principally driven. Yes. 00:53:41.12\00:53:42.85 Principally driven. Right. 00:53:42.88\00:53:44.22 Yep. Love it. 00:53:44.25\00:53:45.72 You know, it just dawned on me that I want to make sure 00:53:45.75\00:53:48.86 that people don't misunderstand. 00:53:48.89\00:53:50.39 Daniel was not practicing these things. 00:53:50.43\00:53:53.09 He was just, his job was that 00:53:53.13\00:53:55.56 he oversaw that whole realm of the kingdom 00:53:55.60\00:53:59.73 but he wasn't. 00:53:59.77\00:54:01.10 He's not an astrologer. No. 00:54:01.14\00:54:02.47 No, no, I didn't get that for viewer's sake. 00:54:02.50\00:54:03.84 Okay. Good. 00:54:03.87\00:54:05.21 I want to just make sure that the viewers did 00:54:05.24\00:54:06.57 because that might have been, 00:54:06.61\00:54:07.94 you know, people write in and say, 00:54:07.98\00:54:09.74 "Is she saying that he was an astrologer?" No. 00:54:09.78\00:54:11.85 I want to quickly refer to the Great Controversy, 00:54:11.88\00:54:13.82 because that's the book we're offering. 00:54:13.85\00:54:15.18 I'm just going to give a little bit of an overview. 00:54:15.22\00:54:17.05 I just love this reference in the Great Controversy 00:54:17.09\00:54:20.49 for our viewers that are asking for free outline, 00:54:20.52\00:54:24.33 the free copy of that book, page 210, 00:54:24.36\00:54:28.80 and I'm just going to summarize it, 00:54:28.83\00:54:30.17 not going to read it. 00:54:30.20\00:54:31.53 It's during the Dark Ages Reformation, Martin Luther. 00:54:31.57\00:54:34.87 Martin Luther is able to carry forth the Reformation 00:54:34.90\00:54:37.67 because he has powerful kings, powerful princes, I should say, 00:54:37.71\00:54:41.78 that are supporting him. 00:54:41.81\00:54:43.14 Now, there's kings and religious leaders 00:54:43.18\00:54:44.51 that are against him, 00:54:44.55\00:54:45.88 but he's got powerful kings that are supporting, 00:54:45.91\00:54:47.25 princes that are supporting him. 00:54:47.28\00:54:48.65 And at one point, they say to him, 00:54:48.68\00:54:51.55 "Hey, we're gonna you some military power, 00:54:51.59\00:54:55.16 like, you're going to need protection, 00:54:55.19\00:54:56.66 you're going to need us to step in and fight for you." 00:54:56.69\00:54:59.03 And, you know what he says? 00:54:59.06\00:55:02.00 He says, "Not one sword." 00:55:02.03\00:55:04.70 He says, "God's in control. 00:55:04.73\00:55:07.24 He's overruling, and prayer is more powerful 00:55:07.27\00:55:10.54 than anything you can give me." 00:55:10.57\00:55:12.27 Wow! 00:55:12.31\00:55:13.64 Prayer's the most powerful thing. 00:55:13.68\00:55:15.01 He said so, "If you want to help me, pray, 00:55:15.04\00:55:16.85 and during that time, in the Great Controversy 00:55:16.88\00:55:18.98 historically we're told, he would spend three hours 00:55:19.01\00:55:22.68 every morning in prayer, the hours best suited for study 00:55:22.72\00:55:25.25 he would spend in prayer during that time, yeah. 00:55:25.29\00:55:28.46 And that's what shook the world during the Reformation 00:55:28.49\00:55:31.26 was from the power, from the secret power of prayer 00:55:31.29\00:55:34.30 came the power that shook the world in the Reformation. 00:55:34.33\00:55:37.47 So just want to throw that for our listeners 00:55:37.50\00:55:38.93 that Great Controversy book, prayer's all through it. 00:55:38.97\00:55:41.04 And it tells us in the end of time, 00:55:41.07\00:55:42.40 that's what we're going to need. 00:55:42.44\00:55:43.77 And let's, let our viewers know how to get that book again. 00:55:43.81\00:55:47.31 You can call 618- 627-4651, 00:55:47.34\00:55:52.91 or you can email us at live@3abn.tv. 00:55:52.95\00:55:58.39 And we got some prayer requests that I was thought 00:55:58.42\00:56:00.32 we might want to pray for them. 00:56:00.36\00:56:01.69 Yeah. 00:56:01.72\00:56:03.06 I think that it would be good to end the program with prayer. 00:56:03.09\00:56:05.89 We've been talking about prayer, and the Lord, 00:56:05.93\00:56:09.73 I believe would have us to in this program with prayer. 00:56:09.76\00:56:12.53 Amen. 00:56:12.57\00:56:13.90 So we just want to thank our viewers in advance 00:56:13.94\00:56:16.64 for being with us. 00:56:16.67\00:56:18.01 And we are just so grateful 00:56:18.04\00:56:19.37 that you joined us this evening. 00:56:19.41\00:56:21.64 And we ask you to join us in prayer as we pray now, 00:56:21.68\00:56:24.71 you pray at home as well. 00:56:24.75\00:56:26.31 If you have not asked the Lord into your lives, 00:56:26.35\00:56:29.92 please ask Him, just invite Him to be your Lord and Savior. 00:56:29.95\00:56:34.76 Let Him know that you're sorry for your sins. 00:56:34.79\00:56:37.59 And that you know that He, 00:56:37.63\00:56:39.43 that Jesus Christ gave His life for you 00:56:39.46\00:56:42.36 and will welcome you into the kingdom. 00:56:42.40\00:56:44.50 Amen.
