Indeed He does. 00:02:06.02\00:02:08.36 And, you know, we did pray. 00:02:08.39\00:02:09.89 We always pray before we begin, 00:02:09.92\00:02:11.46 but we want to include you in that prayer. 00:02:11.49\00:02:13.56 So, honey, you want to pray. Amen and amen. 00:02:44.13\00:02:46.80 You know, tonight, 00:02:46.83\00:02:48.20 we are going to talk about God defends my cause. 00:02:48.23\00:02:53.77 And let me read to you an affirmation. 00:02:53.80\00:02:57.07 This comes from 00:02:57.11\00:02:58.44 life affirmations for scripture. 00:02:58.47\00:03:00.11 And an affirmation is simply 00:03:00.14\00:03:02.01 when you take God's Word 00:03:02.04\00:03:04.65 and you speak it over your life, 00:03:04.68\00:03:06.98 you pray it back to God. 00:03:07.02\00:03:08.52 You affirm His Word. 00:03:08.55\00:03:11.59 So here is the affirmation. 00:03:11.62\00:03:14.16 And then we're going to touch on the scriptures 00:03:14.19\00:03:18.09 that went into the affirmation. 00:03:18.13\00:03:20.56 God vigorously defends my cause. 00:03:20.60\00:03:24.03 I am still before Him. 00:03:24.07\00:03:25.67 And He makes the justice of my cause 00:03:25.70\00:03:27.97 shine like the noonday sun. 00:03:28.00\00:03:29.57 He contends with those who contend with me. 00:03:29.60\00:03:33.04 No weapon formed against me will prosper or prevail. 00:03:33.07\00:03:36.71 He opens doors that no one can shut. 00:03:36.75\00:03:39.45 He closes doors that no one can open. 00:03:39.48\00:03:43.08 My Lord performs on my behalf. 00:03:43.12\00:03:47.76 If God is for me, who can be against me? 00:03:47.79\00:03:51.29 All of these thoughts come from scriptures. 00:03:51.33\00:03:54.73 And we're just going to dive into this because it is true. 00:03:54.76\00:03:59.77 God defends your cause. 00:03:59.80\00:04:03.20 And so, honey, you want to read Jeremiah 50:34 00:04:03.24\00:04:07.48 from the New King James Version. 00:04:07.51\00:04:09.44 I will, "Their Redeemer is strong, 00:04:09.48\00:04:13.18 the Lord of hosts is His name. 00:04:13.21\00:04:15.58 He will thoroughly plead their case 00:04:15.62\00:04:18.15 that he may give rest to the land." 00:04:18.19\00:04:19.85 All right. 00:04:19.89\00:04:21.22 Now I'm going to read it from the Amplified 00:04:21.26\00:04:24.09 because they've really taken the Hebrew 00:04:24.13\00:04:27.13 and they've stretched it out. 00:04:27.16\00:04:29.03 Listen to this. 00:04:29.06\00:04:30.63 "Their Redeemer is strong. 00:04:30.67\00:04:34.04 The Lord of hosts is his name. 00:04:34.07\00:04:37.11 He will surely and thoroughly 00:04:37.14\00:04:40.68 plead their case and defend their cause." 00:04:40.71\00:04:45.41 So let's look at the who, what, why of that? 00:04:45.45\00:04:49.58 Their Redeemer is strong. 00:04:49.62\00:04:52.19 Did you know? 00:04:52.22\00:04:53.56 This is interesting, in the Hebrew Redeemer is Goel 00:04:53.59\00:04:59.03 and it's translated redeemer, 00:04:59.06\00:05:01.20 kinsman, revenger, avenger. 00:05:01.23\00:05:06.47 So who is it that is going to plead our case 00:05:06.50\00:05:10.07 and defend our cause? 00:05:10.11\00:05:11.44 Our Redeemer. 00:05:11.47\00:05:13.31 Can you think of someone in the Old Testament? 00:05:13.34\00:05:18.61 There is a concept of kinsman-redeemer. 00:05:18.65\00:05:22.58 This is what this is all about. 00:05:22.62\00:05:25.05 Remember Ruth... Both Ruth and Boaz. 00:05:25.09\00:05:27.16 Ruth and Boaz. 00:05:27.19\00:05:28.92 So what did a kinsman-redeemer do? 00:05:28.96\00:05:32.96 A kinsman-redeemer would buy back his kin 00:05:32.99\00:05:37.33 who'd been sold into slavery or sold himself into slavery. 00:05:37.37\00:05:41.27 He'd buy back their property. 00:05:41.30\00:05:44.11 He would pay off their debts. 00:05:44.14\00:05:46.47 He restored their rightful inheritance. 00:05:46.51\00:05:50.61 He would even, the kinsman-redeemer was either 00:05:50.65\00:05:53.38 like a brother or a father 00:05:53.42\00:05:55.98 or maybe an uncle or a brother-in-law, 00:05:56.02\00:06:00.26 but he would even become the husband, 00:06:00.29\00:06:06.53 marry the widow. 00:06:06.56\00:06:07.96 So, Dee? 00:06:08.00\00:06:10.07 It's like God, your Redeemer brings you 00:06:10.10\00:06:13.30 back up to the position that 00:06:13.34\00:06:17.47 God created you to be in. 00:06:17.51\00:06:19.71 Your Redeemer makes you whole again 00:06:19.74\00:06:23.55 with everything that, 00:06:23.58\00:06:25.18 that goes along with the concept. 00:06:25.21\00:06:27.02 And I've been thinking, I thought of you, Isaiah 54:5, 00:06:27.05\00:06:32.19 says, "The Lord of hosts is your husband." 00:06:32.22\00:06:36.86 Yes. 00:06:36.89\00:06:38.23 And as a widow, you've found that God has been your husband. 00:06:38.26\00:06:43.80 God has stepped in 00:06:43.83\00:06:45.50 and taken the place of my husband 00:06:45.53\00:06:48.57 in a supernatural way in the fact that 00:06:48.60\00:06:52.37 he could actually heal me more than my own husband. 00:06:52.41\00:06:56.64 My husband loved me. 00:06:56.68\00:06:58.35 I loved David. We were of one together. 00:06:58.38\00:07:01.85 And yet my husband was human flesh 00:07:01.88\00:07:05.82 with shortcomings, just like I had shortcomings, 00:07:05.85\00:07:09.32 but God as my husband actually filled 00:07:09.36\00:07:13.50 in broken places of me that my husband couldn't not 00:07:13.53\00:07:17.07 because he didn't want to, but humans just cannot. 00:07:17.10\00:07:21.60 A human cannot heal you like your Redeemer can. 00:07:21.64\00:07:24.77 Amen, very well put. 00:07:24.81\00:07:26.14 And something that touches me is Psalm 68:5 that says, 00:07:26.17\00:07:30.75 "God is a father to the fatherless." 00:07:30.78\00:07:34.35 My father died when I was six years old. 00:07:34.38\00:07:36.95 He was killed in a plane crash. 00:07:36.99\00:07:39.15 And it took me to about 00:07:39.19\00:07:42.29 the age of 26 to really understand, 00:07:42.32\00:07:45.79 I knew Jesus as savior, but I didn't know the Father. 00:07:45.83\00:07:49.20 And finally God really reached down to me 00:07:49.23\00:07:53.44 and I understood God as my Father. 00:07:53.47\00:07:55.97 He is a Father to the fatherless, 00:07:56.00\00:07:58.14 but how do we know, 00:07:58.17\00:07:59.61 I mean, does it hit you, 00:07:59.64\00:08:01.44 as I was thinking about this, Jesus, 00:08:01.48\00:08:06.21 the person of Jesus Christ became our Redeemer. 00:08:06.25\00:08:10.05 God came down to earth and became a man. 00:08:10.09\00:08:15.29 That's incredible. 00:08:15.32\00:08:16.66 So that he could be our kinsman-redeemer. 00:08:16.69\00:08:21.40 And what does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say? 00:08:21.43\00:08:24.60 "We are redeemed," what? 00:08:24.63\00:08:27.04 "By the blood of the Lamb." 00:08:27.07\00:08:30.41 That's how much we're worth to God. 00:08:30.44\00:08:31.77 Okay. 00:08:31.81\00:08:33.14 Now let's look at the second part of that. 00:08:33.17\00:08:35.21 The Redeemer is strong. 00:08:35.24\00:08:38.61 The Lord of hosts is His name. 00:08:38.65\00:08:43.75 Do you know what Lord of hosts is? 00:08:43.79\00:08:46.35 The highest of high. 00:08:46.39\00:08:48.42 It is. 00:08:48.46\00:08:49.79 It's the most majestic title that there could be. 00:08:49.82\00:08:52.59 Yes, omnipotent. Omnipotent. 00:08:52.63\00:08:54.33 Amen. 00:08:54.36\00:08:55.70 He has all of these forces at His command. 00:08:55.73\00:08:59.87 He is over all the angels. 00:08:59.90\00:09:02.40 He's got the armies of heaven. 00:09:02.44\00:09:04.37 So, boy, when we're talking about who's doing this, 00:09:04.41\00:09:09.04 He says, I'm the first, I'm the last, I'm the only God, 00:09:09.08\00:09:12.55 there is no God besides me, 00:09:12.58\00:09:14.85 and God is our Redeemer. 00:09:14.88\00:09:19.55 The Lord of hosts is His name. 00:09:19.59\00:09:22.42 And what does He do? 00:09:22.46\00:09:24.13 He will surely and thoroughly plead their cause. 00:09:24.16\00:09:30.27 Who has a thought on that that He pleads our cause? 00:09:30.30\00:09:34.37 You know, I'm reminded of Zachariah 3 00:09:34.40\00:09:37.51 really comes to my mind on that, 00:09:37.54\00:09:38.87 you know, in that judgment scene. 00:09:38.91\00:09:40.24 Amen. 00:09:40.28\00:09:41.61 But, how, I don't know how I put this. 00:09:41.64\00:09:44.41 It's like we're so, we sense and know that we're unworthy, 00:09:44.45\00:09:47.88 but we realize in His eyes, 00:09:47.92\00:09:49.65 if this is the master that created the entire universe, 00:09:49.68\00:09:53.32 He wanted so much, He's so compelled 00:09:53.36\00:09:54.86 because He loves us so much that 00:09:54.89\00:09:56.22 He wants us not to be missing in that kingdom. 00:09:56.26\00:09:58.06 If you don't make it in that kingdom, 00:09:58.09\00:09:59.53 it's like a piece of Him is gone. 00:09:59.56\00:10:02.26 It's not so, He's going to plead for us 00:10:02.30\00:10:03.77 because He wants us there in that kingdom. 00:10:03.80\00:10:05.53 He wants what He's created home. 00:10:05.57\00:10:07.37 He wants that piece back. 00:10:07.40\00:10:09.00 Amen. Amen. 00:10:09.04\00:10:10.37 JD? 00:10:10.41\00:10:11.74 It also tells us in Hebrews, right? 00:10:11.77\00:10:13.11 Hebrew 7:25. 00:10:13.14\00:10:14.48 Amen. Favorite scripture. 00:10:14.51\00:10:15.84 That the King of kings, the Lord of hosts, 00:10:15.88\00:10:21.58 He is our advocate. He is. 00:10:21.62\00:10:23.65 And being our advocate what it tells us in Hebrews 00:10:23.69\00:10:26.89 is therefore he is also able to save us to the uttermost 00:10:26.92\00:10:32.79 who come to God through him. 00:10:32.83\00:10:34.60 He is our advocate. 00:10:34.63\00:10:35.96 Because why I is, as our advocate, 00:10:36.00\00:10:38.60 Hebrew 7:25 says he lives to make intercession for you. 00:10:38.63\00:10:43.74 Do you realize the person of Jesus Christ 00:10:43.77\00:10:48.68 is at the right hand of the Father? 00:10:48.71\00:10:52.18 He is pleading your cause. 00:10:52.21\00:10:54.62 He is making intercession for you constantly. 00:10:54.65\00:10:59.19 He lives to make intercession in 1 John 2:1, 00:10:59.22\00:11:03.96 says that we have an advocate with the Father. 00:11:03.99\00:11:08.06 And what does advocate mean? 00:11:08.10\00:11:10.57 It's your defender. 00:11:10.60\00:11:11.93 Well, it's a defender, 00:11:11.97\00:11:13.30 but also He knew He walked on this earth, 00:11:13.34\00:11:16.67 He did walk in our shoes. Amen. 00:11:16.71\00:11:19.47 He does, He understands in a way that 00:11:19.51\00:11:21.61 no one else can of what it is to be a human. 00:11:21.64\00:11:25.81 And yet if I allow Him to, 00:11:25.85\00:11:29.68 He will stand between me and Satan 00:11:29.72\00:11:31.69 or between me and anything or anyone else 00:11:31.72\00:11:34.72 that tries to prevent Him from having, 00:11:34.76\00:11:38.79 or prevent me from being part of His kingdom 00:11:38.83\00:11:41.66 in the end if I allow it. 00:11:41.70\00:11:44.13 So you just kind of segued into, 00:11:44.17\00:11:47.60 He pleads our case, 00:11:47.64\00:11:48.97 but He defends or maintains our cause. 00:11:49.00\00:11:52.81 And that cause is to get us into heaven. 00:11:52.84\00:11:57.41 JD, read 1 Kings 8:49. 00:11:57.45\00:12:00.98 1 Kings 8:49. 00:12:01.02\00:12:02.65 Yeah. 00:12:02.68\00:12:04.02 1 Kings 8:49, "Then hear in heaven 00:12:04.05\00:12:07.72 your dwelling place their prayer 00:12:07.76\00:12:09.59 and their supplication, and maintain their cause." 00:12:09.62\00:12:12.49 So as the prayer is being lifted up. 00:12:12.53\00:12:17.00 Amen. 00:12:17.03\00:12:18.63 He's saying, oh, hear, O Lord, 00:12:18.67\00:12:20.94 in Your dwelling place in heaven. 00:12:20.97\00:12:22.87 Hear us and maintainer our cause. 00:12:22.90\00:12:26.54 Hebrews 1:3 says that Jesus upholds, 00:12:26.57\00:12:30.55 He maintains, He does everything 00:12:30.58\00:12:33.92 by His mighty word of power. 00:12:33.95\00:12:35.75 Maintain means to take action advance, 00:12:35.78\00:12:38.05 bring forth or accomplish. 00:12:38.09\00:12:40.62 And this is what's exciting is that it it's used, 00:12:40.66\00:12:46.26 it's a verb maintained 00:12:46.29\00:12:47.63 that's used in many ways, 00:12:47.66\00:12:49.00 but when it's used of God, 00:12:49.03\00:12:51.20 it is always talking about how God maintains the cause 00:12:51.23\00:12:55.77 for His entire created world but also for individuals. 00:12:55.80\00:13:00.88 Now I'm going to ask you please, 00:13:00.91\00:13:05.25 Don, would you read Joshua? 00:13:05.28\00:13:08.78 Let's go to Joshua 23 and 24. 00:13:08.82\00:13:14.52 So Joshua comes right after Deuteronomy. 00:13:14.56\00:13:17.79 He's the one, but if you will just read 23, please? 00:13:17.83\00:13:21.63 Joshua 23, I mean 14. 00:13:21.66\00:13:24.77 Joshua chapter? Fourteen. 00:13:24.80\00:13:28.20 Chapter 23 and verse 14, 00:13:28.24\00:13:31.07 because this just hit me 00:13:31.11\00:13:34.34 and it's so amazing. 00:13:34.38\00:13:37.68 23:24? 00:13:37.71\00:13:39.05 23:14. Joshua 23:14. 00:13:39.08\00:13:42.12 And the reason I want to do 00:13:42.15\00:13:43.85 this is God's acts in His words, 00:13:43.89\00:13:47.56 always perfectly correspond. 00:13:47.59\00:13:49.99 God, what He says He does. 00:13:50.03\00:13:54.56 Anything He does is what He's already said. 00:13:54.60\00:13:58.63 So look at Joshua 23:14 00:13:58.67\00:14:04.31 And says here, and this is of the King James Version. 00:14:04.34\00:14:06.74 And behold, this day I am going the way 00:14:06.78\00:14:11.68 of all the earth." 00:14:11.71\00:14:13.05 So Joshua was praying. He's about to die. 00:14:13.08\00:14:15.52 And you know, "In all your hearts 00:14:15.55\00:14:16.89 and in all your souls that not one thing, 00:14:16.92\00:14:19.09 hath failed of all the good things 00:14:19.12\00:14:22.19 which the Lord, your God speak concerning you. 00:14:22.22\00:14:25.29 All are come to pass unto you 00:14:25.33\00:14:27.20 and not one thing hath failed thereof." 00:14:27.23\00:14:31.27 So the way the New King James says, 00:14:31.30\00:14:35.10 "All have come to pass for you. 00:14:35.14\00:14:37.44 Not one word of them has failed." 00:14:37.47\00:14:43.11 So everything that God promised them all the good, 00:14:43.14\00:14:47.82 He brought it to pass. 00:14:47.85\00:14:50.42 And you know, if you've watched 3ABN long, 00:14:50.45\00:14:53.39 you know, that part of my ministry 00:14:53.42\00:14:56.52 is teaching people the power 00:14:56.56\00:14:58.33 of returning the Word of God to Him 00:14:58.36\00:15:00.70 because it doesn't return to Him void. 00:15:00.73\00:15:03.57 He watches over His Word to perform it. 00:15:03.60\00:15:05.97 And here's Joshua saying, you know in your heart, 00:15:06.00\00:15:09.77 you know in your soul, nothing that God said, 00:15:09.80\00:15:13.71 all this good He said He was going to do for you, 00:15:13.74\00:15:16.68 He's done it. 00:15:16.71\00:15:18.05 Not one word of the Lord has failed, 00:15:18.08\00:15:20.68 but now I'm going to read the next verse, 00:15:20.72\00:15:23.49 because this is an eye-opener. 00:15:23.52\00:15:26.96 Therefore it shall come to pass, 00:15:26.99\00:15:30.56 in another words, 00:15:30.59\00:15:31.93 the therefore is saying God's word is sure. 00:15:31.96\00:15:35.03 Not one word has failed. 00:15:35.06\00:15:36.63 "Therefore it shall come to pass that 00:15:36.67\00:15:38.37 all the good things that have come upon you, 00:15:38.40\00:15:40.34 which the Lord your God promised you. 00:15:40.37\00:15:42.10 So the Lord will bring upon you all the harmful things 00:15:42.14\00:15:48.11 if you transgress his covenant." 00:15:48.14\00:15:50.85 And the reason I want to point that out. 00:15:50.88\00:15:53.11 Isn't that, I mean, 00:15:53.15\00:15:54.48 there is a powerful juxification there. 00:15:54.52\00:15:57.12 Sometimes we think the Word of the Lord, 00:15:57.15\00:16:00.49 we want to cling to the promises 00:16:00.52\00:16:02.99 but we cannot, 00:16:03.02\00:16:05.09 all of His warnings are promises too. 00:16:05.13\00:16:09.10 If you do this, there's consequences for it. 00:16:09.13\00:16:12.10 This is going to happen. 00:16:12.13\00:16:14.50 That's pretty powerful. 00:16:14.54\00:16:15.87 It's a little slogan that Lord put in my head, 00:16:15.90\00:16:17.47 God can't bless what you make a mess. 00:16:17.51\00:16:20.08 Yeah, that's good. 00:16:20.11\00:16:21.44 God can't bless what you make a mess. 00:16:21.48\00:16:23.14 That's kind of what you're touching on 00:16:23.18\00:16:24.51 more or less. 00:16:24.55\00:16:25.88 Yeah. We're making a mess of it. 00:16:25.91\00:16:27.25 We need to take, you know, He's going to plead our cause. 00:16:27.28\00:16:31.15 He's going to defend our cause, 00:16:31.19\00:16:35.46 but, boy, I guarantee you, 00:16:35.49\00:16:37.86 we need to walk in obedience in the Lord. 00:16:37.89\00:16:41.66 All right, Dee? We have to say yes to Him. 00:16:41.70\00:16:43.90 Yeah. 00:16:43.93\00:16:45.40 That, that's our God, 00:16:45.43\00:16:47.47 even though God is so powerful, 00:16:47.50\00:16:49.60 He could force our will, 00:16:49.64\00:16:50.97 but He never does because of His love for us. 00:16:51.01\00:16:54.28 We have choices to make. 00:16:54.31\00:16:56.85 And this, Psalms 37:6-7. 00:16:56.88\00:17:01.92 I love this. 00:17:01.95\00:17:03.28 I already had it marked in my Bible, 00:17:03.32\00:17:04.95 but I want to make sure that I do it in context. 00:17:04.99\00:17:06.86 I'm going to read the verses first of what His promise is. 00:17:06.89\00:17:10.16 Okay. Starting in 6. 00:17:10.19\00:17:12.06 All right. Okay. 00:17:12.09\00:17:13.43 So Psalms 37:6, it says, 00:17:13.46\00:17:17.27 "He shall bring forth your righteousness 00:17:17.30\00:17:19.93 as the light and your justice as noon day, 00:17:19.97\00:17:25.21 rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him." 00:17:25.24\00:17:29.81 God is saying, He's giving us a promise 00:17:29.84\00:17:32.61 of what He's going to do for us. 00:17:32.65\00:17:35.82 And when we have, when we choose Him, 00:17:35.85\00:17:39.25 when we're walking in His will, 00:17:39.29\00:17:41.52 when we are under His guidance and His love, 00:17:41.56\00:17:46.96 He takes what we do, 00:17:47.00\00:17:50.17 because the very best that I do is rags. 00:17:50.20\00:17:53.20 But He takes the very best that I can do under His power. 00:17:53.23\00:17:57.67 And He makes my righteousness his, 00:17:57.71\00:18:00.51 either should say His righteousness. 00:18:00.54\00:18:02.11 Right. 00:18:02.14\00:18:03.48 It makes His righteousness as light. 00:18:03.51\00:18:06.72 And it makes His justice as noon day. 00:18:06.75\00:18:10.45 Because if you read this whole chapter, 00:18:10.49\00:18:12.55 He is, He starts out telling us we should trust in Him. 00:18:12.59\00:18:15.96 It's telling us what if we do this, 00:18:15.99\00:18:19.16 if we will do good, if we'll dwell in the land, 00:18:19.19\00:18:21.40 if we'll feed on His faithfulness, 00:18:21.43\00:18:23.73 if we'll delight ourselves in the Lord. 00:18:23.77\00:18:26.27 It's letting Him know, 00:18:26.30\00:18:28.40 He shall give you the desires of your heart. 00:18:28.44\00:18:30.54 So He's letting us know if we choose. 00:18:30.57\00:18:33.27 If we choose this, if we choose certain things, 00:18:33.31\00:18:36.81 if we choose to love Him, 00:18:36.85\00:18:38.18 if we choose Him, this is what He'll do for us, 00:18:38.21\00:18:42.25 because my righteousness is pretty bad at its very best, 00:18:42.28\00:18:48.19 but He will actually use it 00:18:48.22\00:18:51.09 and let it shine to win someone else to Him. 00:18:51.13\00:18:53.80 Amen. 00:18:53.83\00:18:55.40 When my righteousness doesn't shine, 00:18:55.43\00:19:00.14 when I step away from Him. 00:19:00.17\00:19:03.51 When I think of what the Lord does for me, 00:19:03.54\00:19:07.08 when we've talked about before that His love 00:19:07.11\00:19:10.48 for me, He fights for me. 00:19:10.51\00:19:12.18 He's up there pleading for my cause. 00:19:12.21\00:19:16.48 And then when I let go of His hand 00:19:16.52\00:19:20.09 and I act in my own power and disappoint him, 00:19:20.12\00:19:25.63 when I do something inappropriate or I fall, 00:19:25.66\00:19:29.30 I stumble and fall, my first thought is that 00:19:29.33\00:19:34.20 I've disappointed my Lord and Savior, 00:19:34.24\00:19:36.34 my Redeemer. 00:19:36.37\00:19:37.91 He paid such a price for me. 00:19:37.94\00:19:40.78 His love is so overwhelming. 00:19:40.81\00:19:43.14 So when I disappoint Him, I just feel crushed. 00:19:43.18\00:19:48.38 And then I worry about 00:19:48.42\00:19:49.75 the other people that I've hurt, 00:19:49.78\00:19:51.55 but God always will forgive me. 00:19:51.59\00:19:57.39 Even if others don't, 00:19:57.43\00:19:59.79 He will forgive me if I will turn back to Him, 00:19:59.83\00:20:03.83 if I will trust in the Lord and do good. 00:20:03.87\00:20:06.30 Once again, if I will walk with Him 00:20:06.33\00:20:08.10 and with Him, 00:20:08.14\00:20:09.47 no matter how many times I stumble, 00:20:09.50\00:20:11.47 He shall use His righteousness to shine for others. 00:20:11.51\00:20:15.04 Amen. 00:20:15.08\00:20:16.41 He will put justice as the noon day. 00:20:16.44\00:20:20.05 He will continue to keep these promises as long as 00:20:20.08\00:20:24.42 I keep what He has asked of me. 00:20:24.45\00:20:27.72 Amen. 00:20:27.76\00:20:29.09 And what He asked of me 00:20:29.12\00:20:31.19 is to give me the very best life 00:20:31.23\00:20:32.93 I could have, my happiness. 00:20:32.96\00:20:35.76 You turn to a scripture when she said about falling. 00:20:35.80\00:20:38.67 Where'd you turn? Yes. 00:20:38.70\00:20:40.04 When she said falling, it's Hebrews 6:6 00:20:40.07\00:20:42.60 just came to my mind, it says, 00:20:42.64\00:20:43.97 "If they shall fall away, to renew them again 00:20:44.01\00:20:46.64 unto repentance, 00:20:46.68\00:20:48.01 seeing they crucify to themselves 00:20:48.04\00:20:49.38 the Son of God afresh, 00:20:49.41\00:20:50.75 and put him to an open shame." 00:20:50.78\00:20:52.31 You know, I read that and I just think about 00:20:52.35\00:20:54.92 we can easily do that because we, 00:20:54.95\00:20:56.92 I think sometimes 00:20:56.95\00:20:58.29 we take relationships for granted. 00:20:58.32\00:21:00.32 It's so easy to do that. 00:21:00.36\00:21:01.82 And think while God's not going to care, 00:21:01.86\00:21:03.76 doesn't see anyway, so I'll do this 00:21:03.79\00:21:05.13 and He's watching at all times, He's recording everything. 00:21:05.16\00:21:07.20 And what you're saying is, 00:21:07.23\00:21:08.56 but speaking to me is that 00:21:08.60\00:21:09.93 Christ is like our umbrella if you can put it that way. 00:21:09.96\00:21:12.73 And He stands before the Father. 00:21:12.77\00:21:14.10 So the Father sees through Christ. 00:21:14.14\00:21:16.77 He sees us through Christ, 00:21:16.81\00:21:18.67 not us standing there, but He sees us through Christ. 00:21:18.71\00:21:21.58 That's amazing how He sees us through Him. 00:21:21.61\00:21:23.21 And that's His character 00:21:23.24\00:21:24.58 is now transferred to our character. 00:21:24.61\00:21:26.05 Yeah. 00:21:26.08\00:21:27.42 So that's the most beautiful thing 00:21:27.45\00:21:28.78 that He covers us, even though we walk away and, 00:21:28.82\00:21:30.85 but He still accepts us back. 00:21:30.89\00:21:32.32 And, Dee, the thought that I had, 00:21:32.35\00:21:34.39 when you mentioned about falling, 00:21:34.42\00:21:35.82 I immediately thought of Micah 7:8, 00:21:35.86\00:21:39.33 which is in 9, which some of my favorite. 00:21:39.36\00:21:42.56 It says, Micah says, 00:21:42.60\00:21:44.90 "Do not rejoice over me my enemy, 00:21:44.93\00:21:47.17 when I fall, I will arise. 00:21:47.20\00:21:50.51 When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me. 00:21:50.54\00:21:54.21 I will bear the indignation of the Lord 00:21:54.24\00:21:56.61 because I've sinned against Him. 00:21:56.64\00:21:58.31 Until He pleads my case 00:21:58.35\00:22:03.95 and executes justice for me, 00:22:03.99\00:22:07.66 He will bring me forth to the light. 00:22:07.69\00:22:11.03 I will see His righteousness." And you know what? 00:22:11.06\00:22:14.16 I didn't even have that scripture 00:22:14.20\00:22:16.00 on our syllabus. 00:22:16.03\00:22:17.37 But you know, 00:22:17.40\00:22:18.73 when you think both in Psalm 37:6-7, 00:22:18.77\00:22:21.60 and here, when it's talking about 00:22:21.64\00:22:24.91 God bringing forth justice, 00:22:24.94\00:22:27.68 it could mean it's going to happen 00:22:27.71\00:22:29.54 during the psalmist's life. 00:22:29.58\00:22:30.91 Or it could be the future justice 00:22:30.95\00:22:34.78 of the Lord will be like a rising sun, 00:22:34.82\00:22:36.95 because God says, vengeance is mine, you know? 00:22:36.99\00:22:39.75 But justice is going to happen. 00:22:39.79\00:22:42.22 What do you think He means 00:22:42.26\00:22:44.23 when in Psalm 36:7, he says, 00:22:44.26\00:22:47.46 "Be still before with the Lord and wait patiently for Him." 00:22:47.50\00:22:53.70 In that kind of, I mean, I know to be still, 00:22:53.74\00:22:56.81 it can mean that you're quieting yourself 00:22:56.84\00:22:59.77 in the presence of the Lord. 00:22:59.81\00:23:01.28 To me here, I think you're waiting 00:23:01.31\00:23:03.48 on God's justice instead of taking it on. 00:23:03.51\00:23:06.38 Yeah, you have to, I cannot, 00:23:06.41\00:23:11.15 real justice is that 00:23:11.19\00:23:12.89 you're totally healed and it didn't really happen. 00:23:12.92\00:23:15.92 We want justice, 00:23:15.96\00:23:17.29 but God is the only one that can bring justice. 00:23:17.33\00:23:20.56 God is the only one that can bring righteousness, 00:23:20.60\00:23:23.70 bring the light. 00:23:23.73\00:23:25.23 And when we, when my, 00:23:25.27\00:23:29.94 when I stumble, when my ugly comes out, 00:23:29.97\00:23:32.21 I know almost immediately. 00:23:32.24\00:23:34.18 And my heart is broken for hurting my Lord. 00:23:34.21\00:23:39.45 But you know what, Dee, 00:23:39.48\00:23:40.85 I've known you for 20 years and I guarantee you what? 00:23:40.88\00:23:44.72 You... 00:23:44.75\00:23:46.09 We all have certain personality types, 00:23:46.12\00:23:47.92 you are a jump in 00:23:47.96\00:23:49.49 and let's make it happen kind of person. 00:23:49.52\00:23:51.03 But you know what? 00:23:51.06\00:23:52.76 You very rarely stumble and fall anymore. 00:23:52.79\00:23:56.50 That's, it's a rare... 00:23:56.53\00:23:58.13 When I do it's a honey dough, but I know that the Lord, 00:23:58.17\00:24:01.97 what I do accept His forgiveness. 00:24:02.00\00:24:05.81 I've learned to... 00:24:05.84\00:24:08.61 I've learned that when I stumble and fall 00:24:08.64\00:24:11.58 and when I disappoint Him, 00:24:11.61\00:24:13.31 I've learned to say, the Lord knows my heart, 00:24:13.35\00:24:17.09 He can, that's why Jesus can stand 00:24:17.12\00:24:19.89 between me and the Lord. 00:24:19.92\00:24:21.89 And He can redeem me and He can plead my cause 00:24:21.92\00:24:24.36 because He sees my heart. 00:24:24.39\00:24:25.89 He knows that it crushed me that I hurt Him. 00:24:25.93\00:24:30.13 So He will redeem me 00:24:30.17\00:24:32.13 and He will allow His righteousness 00:24:32.17\00:24:35.64 to shine through me again. 00:24:35.67\00:24:37.31 Amen. He will bring that forth. 00:24:37.34\00:24:39.37 He will lift me up to be the person He wanted me to be. 00:24:39.41\00:24:44.58 But the hardest thing I had to learn 00:24:44.61\00:24:46.01 was to let Him do that and to accept it 00:24:46.05\00:24:48.88 because we all want to beat ourselves up 00:24:48.92\00:24:51.49 because look how old I am. 00:24:51.52\00:24:53.46 I should have learned by now. 00:24:53.49\00:24:55.09 Why should I still be stumbling? 00:24:55.12\00:24:57.23 When I think I've overcome, you're right, I'm quick to, 00:24:57.26\00:25:00.50 I'm real quick. 00:25:00.53\00:25:02.00 And I need to wait patiently for the Lord. 00:25:02.03\00:25:06.60 I need to filter those words before they come out. 00:25:06.63\00:25:11.31 But He did create me to be very focused 00:25:11.34\00:25:14.68 and to get the job done. 00:25:14.71\00:25:16.04 Yeah. 00:25:16.08\00:25:17.41 Let me, just, what I like about 00:25:17.45\00:25:19.01 these two verses is that is involving Him, God and us. 00:25:19.05\00:25:24.59 We're cooperating here. Yes. 00:25:24.62\00:25:26.79 He shall bring, 00:25:26.82\00:25:28.62 Jesus shall bring forth your right doing 00:25:28.66\00:25:31.49 as the light, Him. 00:25:31.53\00:25:33.96 Then now what is our part? 00:25:34.00\00:25:36.36 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. 00:25:36.40\00:25:39.57 So if we understand, look at the dial of a watch, 00:25:39.60\00:25:43.87 you know, 12, 3, 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, 9. 00:25:43.91\00:25:48.28 So here he's sitting here saying, 00:25:48.31\00:25:50.51 Hey, I will assist you in right doing, 00:25:50.55\00:25:53.82 but be patient and let Me, you do your part just rest, 00:25:53.85\00:25:59.49 you know, you know what's right. 00:25:59.52\00:26:02.59 Rest in Me. Yeah. 00:26:02.62\00:26:04.33 So anyway... 00:26:04.36\00:26:05.69 I was just thinking when you said that, 00:26:05.73\00:26:07.06 JD, you know, it comes to my mind, 00:26:07.10\00:26:08.43 I watched a Christian movie 00:26:08.46\00:26:09.80 just recently and this woman it's just a movie, 00:26:09.83\00:26:11.57 it's not true. 00:26:11.60\00:26:12.93 But anyway, she had lost her husband 00:26:12.97\00:26:14.30 in Afghanistan. 00:26:14.34\00:26:15.67 He died. 00:26:15.70\00:26:17.04 So for two years she was trying to fix things. 00:26:17.07\00:26:19.21 She was trying to fix everything by herself 00:26:19.24\00:26:21.18 and it was getting her annoyed. 00:26:21.21\00:26:22.54 Everybody talked to her, said, she said, I got this. 00:26:22.58\00:26:24.88 No, I've got this. 00:26:24.91\00:26:26.25 And she kept doing over and over and over, 00:26:26.28\00:26:27.62 she was losing her house, her mortgage was back. 00:26:27.65\00:26:30.15 She couldn't pay for it. She said, no, I got this. 00:26:30.19\00:26:31.92 I'm going to take care of, I'm fine working. 00:26:31.95\00:26:33.49 You know, three shifts of this diner 00:26:33.52\00:26:35.39 couldn't take care of her daughter, 00:26:35.42\00:26:36.76 couldn't put food on the table. 00:26:36.79\00:26:38.13 She says, I've got this, I've got this. 00:26:38.16\00:26:39.49 And I think we often find ourselves. 00:26:39.53\00:26:40.86 Then I think that, that says be still before the Lord. 00:26:40.90\00:26:43.70 You know, we try to fix things 00:26:43.73\00:26:45.40 and He wants to sit there and fix it. 00:26:45.43\00:26:47.04 And we're always trying to run ahead and fix things. 00:26:47.07\00:26:48.77 And we're making a mess. 00:26:48.80\00:26:50.14 I had a gym I worked for years ago 00:26:50.17\00:26:51.84 and he said, smarter, not harder. 00:26:51.87\00:26:53.81 I'm like, what is that supposed to mean, 00:26:53.84\00:26:55.18 you know? 00:26:55.21\00:26:56.54 And it took me a long time to figure out, it's like, 00:26:56.58\00:26:58.18 we're, if we just be still and be on the Lord, 00:26:58.21\00:27:00.38 He's going to do it the smart way where we make it. 00:27:00.42\00:27:02.35 We're just, 00:27:02.38\00:27:03.72 I know stupid is not a great word, 00:27:03.75\00:27:05.09 but just we make a mistake 00:27:05.12\00:27:06.45 and just mess it all up and just let Him make it. 00:27:06.49\00:27:09.29 Oh, I can't remember which proverb it was. 00:27:09.32\00:27:11.49 But I found a proverb that said that 00:27:11.53\00:27:13.66 if you love knowledge or instruction, 00:27:13.70\00:27:17.33 you love knowledge. 00:27:17.37\00:27:18.70 But if you hate correction, you're stupid. 00:27:18.73\00:27:20.40 That's what exactly what it said. 00:27:20.44\00:27:21.77 Right. 00:27:21.80\00:27:23.14 If you hate correction, you're stupid. 00:27:23.17\00:27:24.67 No, that's great. 00:27:24.71\00:27:26.04 If people who love you will correct you, 00:27:26.07\00:27:28.68 they will help you. 00:27:28.71\00:27:30.31 And if you will accept that 00:27:30.35\00:27:31.95 and so then you grow and you get better. 00:27:31.98\00:27:34.52 So the Lord wants us to grow. 00:27:34.55\00:27:36.45 How do your children get better if you don't correct them? 00:27:36.48\00:27:39.95 When you look at little children, 00:27:39.99\00:27:42.26 I mean, if you're doing a arithmetic, 00:27:42.29\00:27:44.09 when you're in the first grade, 00:27:44.13\00:27:45.83 your teacher has to correct you 00:27:45.86\00:27:47.46 to show you how to get it right. 00:27:47.50\00:27:49.70 The Lord has to correct us. 00:27:49.73\00:27:52.53 That's how we grow. 00:27:52.57\00:27:53.90 That's how we get better is through correction. 00:27:53.94\00:27:55.74 Amen. 00:27:55.77\00:27:57.31 So what happens, Don, if we keep messing up, 00:27:57.34\00:28:00.51 what does he tell us in Isaiah 49? 00:28:00.54\00:28:03.45 Wow. Good one. Isaiah 49 was it 25 here? 00:28:03.48\00:28:07.32 It says, "But thus saith the Lord, 00:28:07.35\00:28:09.38 even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, 00:28:09.42\00:28:12.45 and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: 00:28:12.49\00:28:14.32 for I will contend with him 00:28:14.36\00:28:16.76 that contendeth with you or thee, 00:28:16.79\00:28:18.83 and I will save your children." 00:28:18.86\00:28:21.46 I really thought about 00:28:21.50\00:28:22.83 one of the stories that touched my heart 00:28:22.86\00:28:24.20 and I share this a lot on prayer line 00:28:24.23\00:28:25.57 is a lot of people 00:28:25.60\00:28:26.94 feel like their backs against the wall. 00:28:26.97\00:28:28.34 They feel so oppressed. They can't get out. 00:28:28.37\00:28:29.97 They just feel like they can't break. 00:28:30.01\00:28:31.34 And I tell them the story about 00:28:31.37\00:28:32.71 when, you know, 00:28:32.74\00:28:34.14 Pharaoh was holding over Israelites 00:28:34.18\00:28:36.78 just in bondage and holding them down, 00:28:36.81\00:28:39.08 wouldn't let them free. 00:28:39.11\00:28:40.55 Well, finally, God, of course, 00:28:40.58\00:28:42.38 He does all these things to get Pharaoh's attention. 00:28:42.42\00:28:44.49 And Pharaoh's finally is like, 00:28:44.52\00:28:45.85 get out here, just get out here, 00:28:45.89\00:28:47.22 just leave, take your stuff. 00:28:47.26\00:28:48.59 So then they end up leaving and going to the desert 00:28:48.62\00:28:49.96 and they find they're stuck at the Red Sea 00:28:49.99\00:28:51.39 and this mountain, like we're done. 00:28:51.43\00:28:54.43 We got nowhere to go. 00:28:54.46\00:28:55.80 And here's the Egyptians coming behind us. 00:28:55.83\00:28:57.17 We're done. 00:28:57.20\00:28:58.53 Why'd you lead us out here, Moses, what was this all about? 00:28:58.57\00:29:00.60 And then it says that, he says, 00:29:00.64\00:29:01.97 stand and you'll see the salvation of your Lord. 00:29:02.00\00:29:03.94 And in verse 14, Exodus 14, 00:29:03.97\00:29:06.17 it says "The Lord shall fight for you 00:29:06.21\00:29:07.78 and you'll hold your peace." 00:29:07.81\00:29:09.24 Amen. That just really speaks to me. 00:29:09.28\00:29:11.25 You know, it's like, we try to, like, 00:29:11.28\00:29:13.01 I'm saying, we try to fight ourselves, 00:29:13.05\00:29:14.52 do our own thing, 00:29:14.55\00:29:15.88 and God has already got the plan, 00:29:15.92\00:29:17.25 answer and the plan. 00:29:17.29\00:29:18.62 And we just got to be in His plan 00:29:18.65\00:29:19.99 and follow His answer. 00:29:20.02\00:29:21.36 So I think... 00:29:21.39\00:29:22.72 You know, I use that verse a lot to encourage parents 00:29:22.76\00:29:25.39 because he says, 00:29:25.43\00:29:27.06 I will contend with him who contends with you. 00:29:27.10\00:29:29.83 And I think of Satan more than anything. 00:29:29.86\00:29:33.27 When, who is the one that's contending with us, 00:29:33.30\00:29:35.94 but he says, and your children I will save. 00:29:35.97\00:29:39.94 So that's a great promise for the... 00:29:39.97\00:29:45.95 It's just a great promise. 00:29:45.98\00:29:47.52 It's one that a lot of parents need to hear a lot. 00:29:47.55\00:29:50.92 All of us need to hear is that He is fighting for us. 00:29:50.95\00:29:54.56 He's pleading our case and defending our cause. 00:29:54.59\00:29:56.66 Amen. 00:29:56.69\00:29:58.03 Well, I think about that with how Egypt and how, 00:29:58.06\00:30:00.46 if God didn't remove the Egyptians 00:30:00.50\00:30:02.46 from that situation 00:30:02.50\00:30:03.90 where would Israel ended up with, 00:30:03.93\00:30:05.27 well, generations later, they finally got to Canaan. 00:30:05.30\00:30:08.34 So He was defending even 00:30:08.37\00:30:09.70 the youth all the way back then. 00:30:09.74\00:30:11.07 Yeah. 00:30:11.11\00:30:12.44 It's like He did that to protect the youth, 00:30:12.47\00:30:13.81 so they could go into the Promised Land. 00:30:13.84\00:30:15.18 Amen. 00:30:15.21\00:30:16.54 When I find myself, when I'm confident that I'm, 00:30:16.58\00:30:21.68 have made the decisions that is in God's will, 00:30:21.72\00:30:25.19 to go a certain direction or to take care of something, 00:30:25.22\00:30:28.86 no matter how it looks, 00:30:28.89\00:30:31.79 whatever boundaries might be in the way 00:30:31.83\00:30:35.23 I have discovered that 00:30:35.26\00:30:36.70 if I will not try to fix it myself, 00:30:36.73\00:30:39.23 there's certain situations I don't try to fix. 00:30:39.27\00:30:41.84 I'm like, I've learned the wisdom, 00:30:41.87\00:30:46.41 of situations that I cannot fix. 00:30:46.44\00:30:49.71 You know, a lot of times it's good to ask ourselves, 00:30:49.74\00:30:53.31 can I fix this or can I not? 00:30:53.35\00:30:56.82 If it's something I can fix, then yes, 00:30:56.85\00:31:00.76 I'm going to go forward and do what I need to do. 00:31:00.79\00:31:03.99 But if this is something that I can't fix, 00:31:04.03\00:31:06.90 I have learned to stand back 00:31:06.93\00:31:09.80 and let God take care of it in His time. 00:31:09.83\00:31:13.54 And that is the most freeing decision 00:31:13.57\00:31:18.57 that you can make is when you're like, 00:31:18.61\00:31:21.14 I can't fix this. 00:31:21.18\00:31:22.68 I've got to let it go. 00:31:22.71\00:31:24.71 When I was moving here, 00:31:24.75\00:31:26.51 I saw many things that I'm like, 00:31:26.55\00:31:28.72 I don't see how this is going to work, 00:31:28.75\00:31:30.75 but I know that 00:31:30.79\00:31:32.12 God is leading me in this particular decision. 00:31:32.15\00:31:35.12 So I let go and I just went forward 00:31:35.16\00:31:37.79 and God took care of all of it. 00:31:37.83\00:31:40.00 And I still do that in certain situations. 00:31:40.03\00:31:43.47 It's like God's going to have 00:31:43.50\00:31:46.17 to take care of this, because I can't. 00:31:46.20\00:31:47.54 Amen. 00:31:47.57\00:31:48.90 And if I'll get out of His way, He will, He will. 00:31:48.94\00:31:51.24 And, boy, that part of segue into Isaiah 54:17. 00:31:51.27\00:31:56.85 You want to read that, Don? 00:31:56.88\00:31:58.21 Sure. "What can men do to me?" 00:34:49.25\00:34:52.55 That's great, I love it. 00:34:52.59\00:34:53.92 That God's righteousness is for you. 00:34:53.96\00:34:55.29 Amen 00:34:55.32\00:34:56.66 I had a gentleman, just the other day 00:34:56.69\00:34:58.03 we were just coming out of our church. 00:34:58.06\00:34:59.39 I don't know why this happened, but as gentleman drove past, 00:34:59.43\00:35:01.83 as we're coming out 00:35:01.86\00:35:03.40 I thought he was waving to me, but he stuck his hand out 00:35:03.43\00:35:05.90 and gave me something else. 00:35:05.93\00:35:07.27 Wasn't very kind. 00:35:07.30\00:35:08.64 I was like, what on earth? 00:35:08.67\00:35:10.01 And you know I'm waving him all nice and happy. 00:35:10.04\00:35:12.44 He's giving me this other nice little gesture. 00:35:12.47\00:35:14.64 But just the fact that, you know, God will, 00:35:14.68\00:35:17.21 He vindicates those that are being persecuted 00:35:17.25\00:35:21.28 by those who are, I don't know 00:35:21.32\00:35:22.65 if there's so much animosity or anger towards 00:35:22.68\00:35:24.35 those who maybe they attend a church 00:35:24.39\00:35:26.45 or whatever, but just this interest 00:35:26.49\00:35:27.82 how God will vindicate those who are like you said, 00:35:27.86\00:35:30.16 obedient and faithful to Him. 00:35:30.19\00:35:31.99 So if we stay obedient and faithful, 00:35:32.03\00:35:33.36 no matter what somebody throws at 00:35:33.40\00:35:34.73 or does to us, 00:35:34.76\00:35:36.10 whatever they do, God will deliver. 00:35:36.13\00:35:37.50 And you never know 00:35:37.53\00:35:38.87 what difference that could make. 00:35:38.90\00:35:40.24 It may be, you know, 00:35:40.27\00:35:41.60 that the next to me passes by someone. 00:35:41.64\00:35:43.24 Let's just say, somebody says, oh, yes, you know, 00:35:43.27\00:35:45.14 when you pass by that church, da, da, da. 00:35:45.17\00:35:47.58 And then he may turn around and says, you know, 00:35:47.61\00:35:50.45 I passed by there the other day. 00:35:50.48\00:35:51.81 And the guy was so friendly. 00:35:51.85\00:35:53.18 He waved at me, you know, and so they're good people. 00:35:53.21\00:35:55.45 I like them. 00:35:55.48\00:35:56.89 Because God can use things that 00:35:56.92\00:36:03.09 we do and let people see them, 00:36:03.12\00:36:05.63 your righteousness shown through 00:36:05.66\00:36:07.60 by just waving and smiling. 00:36:07.63\00:36:09.73 And you don't know what that person actually saw. 00:36:09.76\00:36:12.93 He saw what God wanted him to see 00:36:12.97\00:36:15.47 because it was God's righteousness 00:36:15.50\00:36:17.14 that was coming through you 00:36:17.17\00:36:18.51 because that's not a normal reaction 00:36:18.54\00:36:21.08 to someone being mean to us. 00:36:21.11\00:36:24.51 If someone is cruel to me, 00:36:24.55\00:36:27.88 our natural reaction is to defend ourselves 00:36:27.92\00:36:31.49 or to retaliate, but it is God's righteousness 00:36:31.52\00:36:36.56 if I don't. 00:36:36.59\00:36:37.93 Right. It is His... 00:36:37.96\00:36:41.26 It is Him shining through me, His righteousness. 00:36:41.30\00:36:44.93 And you're right, God can take that righteousness 00:36:44.97\00:36:48.10 if we allow Him to use it 00:36:48.14\00:36:49.47 and He can influence that person later, 00:36:49.50\00:36:52.27 it's a seed that can be planted. 00:36:52.31\00:36:54.41 That's where it says He makes His light shine. 00:36:54.44\00:36:57.75 So if we will control our desire for justice 00:36:57.78\00:37:03.35 and let God's justice shines through us 00:37:03.39\00:37:05.92 and react in kindness and love. 00:37:05.95\00:37:08.76 And then He can use that later on to let our light shine 00:37:08.79\00:37:14.60 and His light shine and change a life. 00:37:14.63\00:37:17.80 Have you, has anyone here ever been in a situation 00:37:17.83\00:37:22.80 where a tongue rose against you in judgment, 00:37:22.84\00:37:25.41 where it was like, 00:37:25.44\00:37:28.01 and I'm not talking about gossip, 00:37:28.04\00:37:29.98 but where someone made an attack and it was like, 00:37:30.01\00:37:35.92 you had to stand back 00:37:35.95\00:37:37.29 and let God fight that battle for you? 00:37:37.32\00:37:40.46 Dee? 00:37:40.49\00:37:42.56 I was involved in a court case and someone 00:37:42.59\00:37:46.09 and the person on the other side said, why... 00:37:46.13\00:37:52.23 I did not press charges against them. 00:37:52.27\00:37:54.80 The state pressed charges against them. 00:37:54.84\00:37:57.11 And what this person said is I didn't hurt her 00:37:57.14\00:38:01.84 and I'm thinking, 00:38:01.88\00:38:03.21 but I had to allow the court system 00:38:03.24\00:38:06.51 to make that decision. 00:38:06.55\00:38:07.88 I couldn't stand up and say, 00:38:07.92\00:38:10.22 oh, you did this, this, this and this. 00:38:10.25\00:38:12.15 I was, he was not being prosecuted by me. 00:38:12.19\00:38:17.03 It was the state that was prosecuting him, 00:38:17.06\00:38:19.59 but I could not defend myself. 00:38:19.63\00:38:21.46 I had to allow the... The judge. 00:38:21.50\00:38:24.87 The public defender and the judge defend me 00:38:24.90\00:38:30.14 and say whether he was right or wrong. 00:38:30.17\00:38:35.08 You know, when you just said that 00:38:35.11\00:38:36.44 it occurred to me, Jesus is our advocate. 00:38:36.48\00:38:40.18 He is the one 00:38:40.22\00:38:41.55 who is vigorously pleading our case. 00:38:41.58\00:38:45.15 But you know what? 00:38:45.19\00:38:46.52 Advocate is more than being our defender, 00:38:46.55\00:38:49.86 our public defender, our lawyer. 00:38:49.89\00:38:52.33 In the Hebrew system, 00:38:52.36\00:38:56.33 the advocate was also the judge. 00:38:56.36\00:38:59.50 So the one that's standing up to defend you is the judge. 00:38:59.53\00:39:03.61 Can you imagine that? 00:39:03.64\00:39:05.24 It's just, it's mind boggling to me. 00:39:05.27\00:39:09.51 See, what I love about that is that God is not only, 00:39:09.54\00:39:13.08 Jesus is my defender and my judge, 00:39:13.11\00:39:16.15 and everything like that. 00:39:16.18\00:39:17.52 But the thing is that He really knows me. 00:39:17.55\00:39:22.32 He knows what's in my heart. 00:39:22.36\00:39:23.69 He knows the truth. 00:39:23.73\00:39:25.96 See, human beings we don't always know the truth. 00:39:25.99\00:39:29.56 We can't read the heart, but I can trust Jesus, 00:39:29.60\00:39:34.14 because He really does know my heart. 00:39:34.17\00:39:36.74 He knows the truth 00:39:36.77\00:39:40.31 Few years ago... 00:39:40.34\00:39:41.68 I'm trying to think 00:39:41.71\00:39:43.04 if I can even share this without sounding, 00:39:43.08\00:39:44.75 but I was in a situation 00:39:44.78\00:39:47.78 where I wasn't going to allow somebody to, 00:39:47.82\00:39:53.56 they wanted me to sign all copyright 00:39:53.59\00:39:56.12 to a teaching to them. 00:39:56.16\00:39:57.49 And I said, no, I'll give you this was 00:39:57.53\00:39:59.23 with a different network. 00:39:59.26\00:40:01.06 And in the early part of my ministry, 00:40:01.10\00:40:03.47 and I told them, 00:40:03.50\00:40:04.83 I'll let you have broadcast rights 00:40:04.87\00:40:06.20 and everything, 00:40:06.23\00:40:07.57 but I can't sign copyright over to you 00:40:07.60\00:40:10.17 because then I could never teach 00:40:10.21\00:40:12.41 from this again. 00:40:12.44\00:40:13.81 It totally belong to you. 00:40:13.84\00:40:16.04 And so the gentleman 00:40:16.08\00:40:18.48 who was like a general manager accused, 00:40:18.51\00:40:21.95 I mean, he went ballistic and accused me 00:40:21.98\00:40:24.95 of trying to ruin their ministry and everything. 00:40:24.99\00:40:28.39 And it was amazing. 00:40:28.42\00:40:30.63 And the interesting thing is this. 00:40:30.66\00:40:33.19 I went back and as I'm thinking 00:40:33.23\00:40:36.06 about all of this, 00:40:36.10\00:40:37.43 I was ready to say, you know, 00:40:37.47\00:40:39.83 I told him that's not my intent, 00:40:39.87\00:40:41.20 da, da, da. 00:40:41.24\00:40:42.57 And I wanted to just go back and say, okay, I'll sign it. 00:40:42.60\00:40:45.64 And God stopped me. 00:40:45.67\00:40:47.14 Amen. 00:40:47.18\00:40:48.51 And they canceled it live that I was on for that night. 00:40:48.54\00:40:51.15 But guess what happened? 00:40:51.18\00:40:53.11 In the place of that live they aired in program. 00:40:53.15\00:40:56.48 And I saw the error 00:40:56.52\00:40:59.79 that was being perpetuated 00:40:59.82\00:41:04.03 by that particular place. 00:41:04.06\00:41:06.76 And God let me know. 00:41:06.80\00:41:08.13 And He had told me 00:41:08.16\00:41:09.50 before we even left that 00:41:09.53\00:41:10.87 He was calling me out of where I was. 00:41:10.90\00:41:13.30 I thought I was going to move there. 00:41:13.34\00:41:14.67 We were going to move there. 00:41:14.70\00:41:16.27 He was calling me out. 00:41:16.30\00:41:17.64 So what I'm trying to say to you is sometimes, 00:41:17.67\00:41:21.21 like you said, 00:41:21.24\00:41:22.58 if we don't wait patiently for the Lord and be still, 00:41:22.61\00:41:26.31 sometimes we are ready to even compromise 00:41:26.35\00:41:30.02 or be coerced. 00:41:30.05\00:41:31.62 We've got to let God defend our cause. 00:41:31.65\00:41:34.92 Look what God did. 00:41:34.96\00:41:36.39 I mean, He brought me to 3ABN just about a year later. 00:41:36.42\00:41:40.60 So it's amazing 00:41:40.63\00:41:44.00 how no weapon 00:41:44.03\00:41:47.54 that's formed against us shall prosper. 00:41:47.57\00:41:49.67 God is going to contend with those who contend with us. 00:41:49.70\00:41:52.97 Yeah. 00:41:53.01\00:41:54.34 I had a, years ago when I worked at a place, 00:41:54.38\00:41:56.38 it was like a farm and a supply store. 00:41:56.41\00:41:59.31 A gentleman mock made fun of me because I was cleaning a shelf. 00:41:59.35\00:42:01.88 He said, either you're praying 00:42:01.92\00:42:03.28 to your God or blah, blah, blah kind of thing. 00:42:03.32\00:42:05.22 So he kind of made fun of me 00:42:05.25\00:42:06.65 and it wasn't too long maybe a few months later 00:42:06.69\00:42:08.66 I pulled up to the store and they had the gates shut. 00:42:08.69\00:42:10.63 I'm like, what's going on here? 00:42:10.66\00:42:11.99 There was no cars in the parking lot or anything. 00:42:12.03\00:42:14.06 And a gentleman approached me, one of the coworkers. 00:42:14.10\00:42:15.63 He said, something happened here. 00:42:15.66\00:42:17.23 It's major. 00:42:17.27\00:42:18.60 Go in the manager's room, you'll find out what happened. 00:42:18.63\00:42:20.97 Some literally broke inside the building 00:42:21.00\00:42:23.10 on the side and stole the safe. 00:42:23.14\00:42:24.51 I don't know how they got it out there. 00:42:24.54\00:42:25.94 But somehow they found the manager was the one 00:42:25.97\00:42:27.61 that was guilty and he got fired. 00:42:27.64\00:42:28.98 He was out the door. 00:42:29.01\00:42:30.48 So it was like, God does defend us. 00:42:30.51\00:42:32.45 It's crazy. It's just amazing. 00:42:32.48\00:42:34.35 Absolutely. Okay. 00:42:34.38\00:42:35.78 Even when it's just minor, I learned many, many years ago. 00:42:35.82\00:42:40.49 If someone lies about you, you cannot defend yourself. 00:42:40.52\00:42:45.19 Even before I was a Christian, I understood that 00:42:45.23\00:42:49.06 if someone gossips or lies about you, 00:42:49.10\00:42:51.10 you cannot defend yourself. 00:42:51.13\00:42:53.30 It's a matter of people believing 00:42:53.34\00:42:55.74 what they want to believe. 00:42:55.77\00:42:57.11 You have to just simply live and trust in the Lord. 00:42:57.14\00:43:02.01 So I don't care whether you're in church 00:43:02.04\00:43:04.41 or if a lie is told about you, it will not prosper, 00:43:04.45\00:43:09.75 but you may have to wait upon the Lord 00:43:09.78\00:43:12.62 to make things right 00:43:12.65\00:43:13.99 And be still and let Him fight the battle, and that's hard. 00:43:14.02\00:43:16.49 Do not defend yourself. 00:43:16.52\00:43:17.99 Just, if you're asked questions, honest, 00:43:18.03\00:43:22.16 answer truthfully, 00:43:22.20\00:43:23.80 but you have to just live 00:43:23.83\00:43:27.40 who you are and let God fix it. 00:43:27.44\00:43:29.37 Amen. You cannot fix it. 00:43:29.40\00:43:31.07 All right. Let's move on. 00:43:31.11\00:43:32.84 I've got a scripture that I want 00:43:32.87\00:43:34.64 because to share, as far as God, 00:43:34.68\00:43:39.65 our Redeemer pleading our case and defending our cause. 00:43:39.68\00:43:45.09 And this is Revelation 3:7-8. 00:43:45.12\00:43:51.63 And here's what, these are the words of Jesus. 00:43:51.66\00:43:56.46 "These things says He who is holy, 00:43:56.50\00:43:59.17 He who is true, 'He who has the key of David, 00:43:59.20\00:44:04.34 He who opens and no one shuts, 00:44:04.37\00:44:08.18 and shuts and no one opens: I know your works. 00:44:08.21\00:44:13.88 See, I have set before you an open door, 00:44:13.92\00:44:19.45 and no one can shut it." 00:44:19.49\00:44:21.32 Because I'm pleading your case, I'm defending your cause. 00:44:21.36\00:44:24.69 "For you have a little strength, 00:44:24.73\00:44:28.30 have kept my word and have not denied My name." 00:44:28.33\00:44:33.30 Now, when we talk about the key of David, 00:44:33.34\00:44:36.60 there is an interpretive rule. 00:44:36.64\00:44:39.61 And the... 00:44:39.64\00:44:40.98 When you look at the Bible, 00:44:41.01\00:44:42.61 there is this interpretive rule, 00:44:42.64\00:44:45.71 a way you can interpret stuff. 00:44:45.75\00:44:47.48 And it's the law of first mention. 00:44:47.52\00:44:51.02 So let's look at Isaiah 22:22, 00:44:51.05\00:44:54.49 because people talk about the key of David 00:44:54.52\00:44:57.03 being all kinds of things 00:44:57.06\00:44:59.29 and they twist this scripture around. 00:44:59.33\00:45:01.96 But I want to show you what it really means. 00:45:02.00\00:45:03.90 If we go to Isaiah 22:22, 00:45:03.93\00:45:07.04 the prophecy of Eliakim, it says, 00:45:07.07\00:45:12.54 "The key of the house of David 00:45:12.57\00:45:15.64 I will lay on his shoulder. 00:45:15.68\00:45:18.48 So he shall open and no one shall shut." 00:45:18.51\00:45:21.18 And it's speaking of Eliakim. 00:45:21.22\00:45:24.32 "And he shall shut and no one shall open." 00:45:24.35\00:45:28.72 So who this guy was? 00:45:28.76\00:45:31.69 He was appointed to have supervision 00:45:31.73\00:45:34.90 over all of the house of David. 00:45:34.93\00:45:36.46 He controlled access to the king. 00:45:36.50\00:45:40.14 He had the authority to let people in the door. 00:45:40.17\00:45:43.17 He could open it. 00:45:43.20\00:45:44.54 No one could shut it or he had authority to shut it 00:45:44.57\00:45:47.74 and they couldn't get in. 00:45:47.78\00:45:49.11 And not only in the house of David, 00:45:49.14\00:45:53.08 but also in the house of God. 00:45:53.11\00:45:55.55 So that when Revelation 3 00:45:55.58\00:46:00.16 is speaking about Christ 00:46:00.19\00:46:02.92 possessing a key figuratively 00:46:02.96\00:46:07.23 what it is talking about is Christ's jurisdiction 00:46:07.26\00:46:11.53 over the church. 00:46:11.57\00:46:13.30 Christ is the one who opens the door 00:46:13.34\00:46:17.91 and we can come in and He's the one who closes it. 00:46:17.94\00:46:22.11 But here's the good thing. 00:46:22.14\00:46:24.08 He is going to carry out 00:46:24.11\00:46:28.95 His plan of redemption. 00:46:28.98\00:46:32.05 Hebrew 7:22, a lovely scripture. 00:46:32.09\00:46:35.66 It says, "By so much more, 00:46:35.69\00:46:38.33 Jesus has become the surety of a better covenant." 00:46:38.36\00:46:43.73 The word surety Jesus is our guarantor. 00:46:43.77\00:46:47.74 He's more than just the person, our advocate. 00:46:47.77\00:46:50.87 He's more than the one who's pleading our case. 00:46:50.91\00:46:53.64 He's the guarantee 00:46:53.68\00:46:55.31 because He's the guarantor from God to us. 00:46:55.34\00:46:59.01 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, 00:46:59.05\00:47:00.78 "All of God's promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus." 00:47:00.82\00:47:05.42 So He's the guarantee from God to us. 00:47:05.45\00:47:09.02 But He's the guarantee from us to God 00:47:09.06\00:47:12.19 because Philippians 2:12 says that 00:47:12.23\00:47:15.00 He's going to work in us to will 00:47:15.03\00:47:17.60 and to do His good pleasure. 00:47:17.63\00:47:20.00 And so, He's going to complete the good work He's begun in us. 00:47:20.04\00:47:23.91 So we will walk in obedience to the Lord 00:47:23.94\00:47:27.81 as we allow Him to work in us. 00:47:27.84\00:47:31.18 So Jesus is constantly defending our cause 00:47:31.21\00:47:35.08 Amen. 00:47:35.12\00:47:36.48 And that reminds me, Shelley, of Psalms 57:2. 00:47:36.52\00:47:40.56 Okay. Psalms 57:2. 00:47:40.59\00:47:45.26 And I, here again, we're involved. 00:47:45.29\00:47:48.40 This is David talking. 00:47:48.43\00:47:49.90 "I will cry to God Most High." 00:47:49.93\00:47:53.34 God, who's the supernatural God, 00:47:53.37\00:47:56.04 who is King of kings, Lord of hosts, 00:47:56.07\00:47:58.67 who performs on my behalf and rewards me. 00:47:58.71\00:48:02.78 When He's talking about performs on my behalf 00:48:02.81\00:48:05.85 and rewards me. 00:48:05.88\00:48:07.22 He's talking about that 00:48:07.25\00:48:08.58 what He's starting that He will complete. 00:48:08.62\00:48:10.59 Amen. Okay? 00:48:10.62\00:48:12.05 So this is one that we need to remember 00:48:12.09\00:48:15.69 because we're talking about God is there to defend us. 00:48:15.72\00:48:19.13 When we need His defending, He knows it ahead of time. 00:48:19.16\00:48:22.26 I think He loves hearing from His children. 00:48:22.30\00:48:24.07 Oh, yes. 00:48:24.10\00:48:25.43 So I think that ball is 00:48:25.47\00:48:26.80 put in our court, Daddy, help me. 00:48:26.84\00:48:28.34 And so it says here 00:48:28.37\00:48:29.70 I will cry to the God Most High, 00:48:29.74\00:48:31.91 the one that is supernatural, 00:48:31.94\00:48:33.54 the one that created the universe 00:48:33.58\00:48:35.98 and who in spite of knowing 00:48:36.01\00:48:39.41 everything that's going on, 00:48:39.45\00:48:42.55 at the same time He knows me. 00:48:42.58\00:48:46.49 And to me that's amazing. 00:48:46.52\00:48:47.89 You know, Shelley is always, and I told her, 00:48:47.92\00:48:50.96 here we have God, 00:48:50.99\00:48:53.73 Jesus in heaven gave up that opportunity. 00:48:53.76\00:48:59.30 He was, and He was still God. 00:48:59.33\00:49:00.74 And He came down and took on the person of Jesus Christ. 00:49:00.77\00:49:03.27 I mean it, boy, you study that out 00:49:03.30\00:49:05.34 and it's just absolutely amazing, 00:49:05.37\00:49:07.74 because that is so counterintuitive to us 00:49:07.78\00:49:11.61 on this earth, 00:49:11.65\00:49:12.98 because you can figure that out. 00:49:13.01\00:49:16.89 But here I will cry to God Most High, 00:49:16.92\00:49:19.95 who performs on my behalf and rewards me. 00:49:19.99\00:49:22.89 And in the Amplified, 00:49:22.92\00:49:24.26 who brings to pass his purposes for me 00:49:24.29\00:49:26.80 and surely completes them. 00:49:26.83\00:49:29.20 So what He starts, He will complete, anyway. 00:49:29.23\00:49:34.84 I love it because it's... 00:49:34.87\00:49:36.44 He's God Most High, He's transcendent. 00:49:36.47\00:49:39.17 He's elevated above everything yet He's intimately involved. 00:49:39.21\00:49:43.08 As a matter of fact, would you read Psalm 138:8? 00:49:43.11\00:49:48.28 And, Donald, 00:49:48.32\00:49:50.59 would you look up Philippians 1:6 00:49:50.62\00:49:54.36 because He's talking about, He performs on my behalf. 00:49:54.39\00:50:00.63 He brings it to completion. 00:50:00.66\00:50:03.37 That's why I cling to that verse 00:50:03.40\00:50:06.40 that I can't quote it right. 00:50:06.43\00:50:09.00 What I have started, I will finish. 00:50:09.04\00:50:11.17 Philippians 1:6. Yes. 00:50:11.21\00:50:13.78 I cling to that constantly because it's like, Lord, 00:50:13.81\00:50:17.11 I chose You and You promised 00:50:17.15\00:50:18.81 You would finish what You started in me. 00:50:18.85\00:50:20.55 He who has begun a good work in you, 00:50:20.58\00:50:23.82 He will be faithful to complete it. 00:50:23.85\00:50:26.29 So in Psalms 138:8, 00:50:26.32\00:50:29.66 "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me, 00:50:29.69\00:50:33.90 Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever. 00:50:33.93\00:50:37.53 Do not forsake the works of your hands." 00:50:37.57\00:50:41.87 I cling to that in my deepest pain 00:50:41.90\00:50:47.21 is when I count, call out Abba, Abba, my Father, 00:50:47.24\00:50:52.55 and it's like mercy, please. 00:50:52.58\00:50:54.72 His mercy endures forever. 00:50:54.75\00:50:56.52 And He will not forsake the work He started in me. 00:50:56.55\00:50:59.72 And... 00:50:59.75\00:51:01.09 And let me spell that out 00:51:01.12\00:51:02.46 because I got in trouble once for using Abba. 00:51:02.49\00:51:04.63 Somebody told me I was calling on Allah, 00:51:04.66\00:51:07.80 we're not saying Allah, we're saying Abba, A-B-B-A. 00:51:07.83\00:51:12.47 Which is what Jesus cried out, and this is Abba Father. 00:51:12.50\00:51:19.11 It's like, it's an intimate name. 00:51:19.14\00:51:22.44 It's like Papa. 00:51:22.48\00:51:24.51 And I mean, isn't that amazing that 00:51:24.55\00:51:27.82 God gives us permission to call on Him as Abba. 00:51:27.85\00:51:32.95 Because when you're in tears or in pain, 00:51:32.99\00:51:35.89 in a ball of a mess on the floor, you need, 00:51:35.92\00:51:38.93 you don't start out, dear heavenly Father. 00:51:38.96\00:51:40.96 No. 00:51:41.00\00:51:42.33 You're like Abba, just pull me onto Your lap 00:51:42.36\00:51:46.30 and wrap Your arms around me and help. 00:51:46.33\00:51:50.51 Amen and amen. 00:51:50.54\00:51:51.91 But I love Psalm 138 00:51:51.94\00:51:53.98 because He's going to perfect what concerns me. 00:51:54.01\00:51:59.45 What a promise? 00:51:59.48\00:52:02.12 That's amazing. 00:52:02.15\00:52:03.49 I've just, we're talking about this. 00:52:03.52\00:52:05.25 Philippians 1:6, which you guys 00:52:05.29\00:52:06.96 already quoted being confident of this very thing 00:52:06.99\00:52:09.56 that he which has begun a good work in you 00:52:09.59\00:52:11.73 will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. 00:52:11.76\00:52:14.86 And when you guys were discussing that, 00:52:14.90\00:52:16.23 you know, this idea of calling on Abba Father. 00:52:16.26\00:52:19.47 He's the one 00:52:19.50\00:52:20.84 who hung the stars in their spaces. 00:52:20.87\00:52:22.20 And He's the one 00:52:22.24\00:52:23.57 who put the plants in their places. 00:52:23.61\00:52:24.94 And this is the God 00:52:24.97\00:52:26.31 who is so intimately connected with you. 00:52:26.34\00:52:27.68 It's just, it's incredible. 00:52:27.71\00:52:29.04 When you think about 00:52:29.08\00:52:30.41 He's put all this galaxy together 00:52:30.45\00:52:31.78 and this same God wants to spend time with you. 00:52:31.81\00:52:33.45 It's just, it just really blows your mind that, 00:52:33.48\00:52:36.38 this, it's an amazing thing. 00:52:36.42\00:52:37.82 And then I thought about Hebrews 12, 00:52:37.85\00:52:39.95 kind of follows through with his Hebrews 12:2, 00:52:39.99\00:52:43.06 it says, "Looking unto Jesus, 00:52:43.09\00:52:44.66 the author and finisher of our faith, 00:52:44.69\00:52:46.59 who for the joy was set before him endured the cross, 00:52:46.63\00:52:49.50 despising the shame is set down 00:52:49.53\00:52:51.17 at the right hand of throne of God." 00:52:51.20\00:52:52.53 So there's that kind of again, 00:52:52.57\00:52:54.07 that judge sitting down judging us. 00:52:54.10\00:52:56.54 So I just really, I'm just impressed 00:52:56.57\00:52:58.14 by the concept that God would consider us so valuable. 00:52:58.17\00:53:03.18 I love that word valuable that He would stoop down 00:53:03.21\00:53:05.41 to become like one of us 00:53:05.45\00:53:06.92 and that He would literally lay Himself down to says that 00:53:06.95\00:53:10.39 shepherd lays down his life for the sheep 00:53:10.42\00:53:12.42 and He raised Himself back up 00:53:12.45\00:53:13.79 so He could take on humanity 00:53:13.82\00:53:15.69 and in a divinity and become one of us. 00:53:15.72\00:53:19.13 It's just...
