Yeah. 00:08:38.25\00:08:39.81 And she brings all the laughter and all the joy. 00:08:39.85\00:08:43.52 That's precious. 00:08:43.55\00:08:44.89 Yeah, the neat thing I think of young people and the kids 00:08:44.92\00:08:47.19 is that they see life in such a beautiful way 00:08:47.22\00:08:49.56 and just the innocence and the way 00:08:49.59\00:08:52.09 they look and experience, I would say, 00:08:52.13\00:08:53.66 God and even the spiritual things, 00:08:53.70\00:08:55.06 it's good for us. 00:08:55.10\00:08:56.43 As adults, we all were kids at one time, 00:08:56.46\00:08:58.27 but sometimes the roughness of life can kind of 00:08:58.30\00:09:01.00 somehow put on a squelch some of that sometimes. 00:09:01.04\00:09:04.57 So today, we have a wonderful topic 00:09:04.61\00:09:06.41 that I think can kind of play into that. 00:09:06.44\00:09:07.78 We do. 00:09:07.81\00:09:09.14 As we're talking here tonight on Claiming Promises 00:09:09.18\00:09:11.31 from God's Word. 00:09:11.35\00:09:12.75 We're going to look at specific promises, 00:09:12.78\00:09:14.42 share stories of promises that we have claimed. 00:09:14.45\00:09:18.05 God stands back of every promise 00:09:18.09\00:09:20.36 that He has ever made. 00:09:20.39\00:09:21.72 And He is a Man He cannot lie. 00:09:21.76\00:09:24.36 And I love that 00:09:24.39\00:09:25.73 because all of His promises are yes 00:09:25.76\00:09:27.73 and amen in Christ Jesus. 00:09:27.76\00:09:29.13 And many times, 00:09:29.16\00:09:30.50 we're going through an experience, and we say, 00:09:30.53\00:09:32.73 "Well, I don't know what to do here," 00:09:32.77\00:09:34.37 or, "I'm not sure where to turn," 00:09:34.40\00:09:36.17 but we can always turn to the Word of God. 00:09:36.20\00:09:39.07 So whether you're full of joy tonight 00:09:39.11\00:09:41.41 or if you're struggling, 00:09:41.44\00:09:42.98 this program is for you 00:09:43.01\00:09:45.71 and those promises in God's Word. 00:09:45.75\00:09:48.35 Yeah, we're going to go to some music. 00:09:48.38\00:09:49.85 Tim, of course, when we have Tim on the set, 00:09:49.88\00:09:53.22 we like to have a little bit of piano... 00:09:53.25\00:09:55.02 Let's do it, Brother Greg. Yeah, let's go for it, Tim. 00:09:55.06\00:09:56.62 Actually, you know what? That's a good point. 00:09:56.66\00:09:57.99 Actually, I just got... 00:09:58.03\00:09:59.36 You pray, and I'll be over here. 00:09:59.39\00:10:00.73 Okay, that sounds good, we'll have a prayer. 00:10:00.76\00:10:02.10 But, you know, I like music. 00:10:02.13\00:10:03.47 And I think music is definitely a part of worship. 00:10:03.50\00:10:06.63 And so we hope that you join us because the words will be 00:10:06.67\00:10:10.11 on the bottom of the screen. 00:10:10.14\00:10:11.47 It's not just us here in the studio, 00:10:11.51\00:10:12.84 but it's you at home, we're doing this together, 00:10:12.87\00:10:14.48 Family Worship. 00:10:14.51\00:10:15.84 We'll do that in just a minute. 00:10:15.88\00:10:17.21 Let's pray. Absolutely. 00:10:17.25\00:10:18.58 And, Jason, you want to open in prayer? 00:10:18.61\00:10:19.95 Absolutely. Okay, thank you. 00:10:19.98\00:10:21.32 Let's pray, Father, we want to thank You 00:10:21.35\00:10:22.68 for this time that we can come to You 00:10:22.72\00:10:25.19 and praise Your Name for all that You do. 00:10:25.22\00:10:27.96 Thank You for those promises in the Bible. 00:10:27.99\00:10:30.59 Thank You for Your love and Your mercy 00:10:30.63\00:10:32.46 and Your goodness and Your patience with us. 00:10:32.49\00:10:35.96 We love You and thank You. 00:10:36.00\00:10:37.67 In Jesus' name, amen. Amen! 00:10:37.70\00:10:40.74 So we're going to sing the song, 00:10:40.77\00:10:42.40 I Sing the Mighty Power of God. 00:10:42.44\00:10:45.11 I sing the mighty power of God 00:10:53.98\00:10:58.15 That made the mountains rise 00:10:58.19\00:11:02.02 That spread the flowing seas abroad 00:11:02.06\00:11:06.19 And built the lofty skies 00:11:06.23\00:11:10.23 I sing the wisdom that ordained 00:11:10.27\00:11:14.27 The sun to rule the day 00:11:14.30\00:11:18.31 The moon shines full at His command 00:11:18.34\00:11:22.44 And all the stars obey 00:11:22.48\00:11:26.55 I sing the goodness of the Lord 00:11:26.58\00:11:30.75 Who filled the earth with food 00:11:30.79\00:11:34.49 Who formed the creatures through the Word 00:11:34.52\00:11:38.49 And then pronounced them good 00:11:38.53\00:11:42.63 Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed 00:11:42.66\00:11:46.77 Where'er I turn my eye 00:11:46.80\00:11:50.77 If I survey the ground I tread 00:11:50.81\00:11:54.71 Or gaze upon the sky 00:11:54.74\00:11:58.95 There's not a plant or flower below 00:11:58.98\00:12:03.12 But makes Thy glories known 00:12:03.15\00:12:07.09 And clouds arise, and tempests blow 00:12:07.12\00:12:11.09 By order from Thy throne 00:12:11.13\00:12:15.23 While all that borrows life from Thee 00:12:15.26\00:12:19.40 Is ever in Thy care 00:12:19.43\00:12:23.27 And everywhere that we can be 00:12:23.30\00:12:27.61 Thou, God, art present there. 00:12:27.64\00:12:33.88 Amen. 00:12:33.92\00:12:35.98 Wow! What a powerful song. 00:12:36.02\00:12:37.69 I tell you what, when Tim plays, 00:12:37.72\00:12:39.05 it just makes you want to sing all the worship, 00:12:39.09\00:12:41.69 but as he said, I can't sing, so, you know, 00:12:41.72\00:12:43.83 that would be just one of those things 00:12:43.86\00:12:45.19 where I might be a little bit miserable. 00:12:45.23\00:12:46.56 So, Tim, you picked this song, and thank you again, 00:12:46.59\00:12:49.80 playing for us, but why did we pick this song 00:12:49.83\00:12:51.20 'cause a lot of times, 00:12:51.23\00:12:52.57 you may think standing on the promises 00:12:52.60\00:12:53.94 'cause we're talking about God's promises. 00:12:53.97\00:12:55.30 Right, and I was... 00:12:55.34\00:12:56.67 I considered that one as an option, but when you, 00:12:56.71\00:12:59.17 you know... 00:12:59.21\00:13:00.54 When you get a promise from someone, 00:13:00.58\00:13:02.78 the promise is usually only as good as their character 00:13:02.81\00:13:05.88 and their ability to keep that promise, 00:13:05.91\00:13:08.28 so I thought, you know, 00:13:08.32\00:13:09.65 when you talk about the attributes of God, 00:13:09.68\00:13:11.05 like that song does, I sing the mighty power of God, 00:13:11.09\00:13:13.56 all those words as I'm singing them 00:13:13.59\00:13:15.52 and I'm going over those words, 00:13:15.56\00:13:16.99 and I'm just seeing 00:13:17.03\00:13:18.36 what a beautiful picture of all that God has done 00:13:18.39\00:13:21.16 and in creating the world. 00:13:21.20\00:13:23.73 When He makes a promise, 00:13:23.77\00:13:25.60 that's a kind of person 00:13:25.63\00:13:26.97 you know can stand behind His promise. 00:13:27.00\00:13:28.77 That's right. 00:13:28.80\00:13:30.14 So I felt that was really apropos. 00:13:30.17\00:13:32.74 Absolutely. Yeah, that's great. 00:13:32.77\00:13:35.04 Yeah, for sure. 00:13:35.08\00:13:36.41 We're talking tonight on claiming promises 00:13:36.44\00:13:38.81 from God's Word. 00:13:38.85\00:13:40.18 And, you know, Jason, you're a finance guy. 00:13:40.22\00:13:42.28 They say that there is $5.8 billion worth 00:13:42.32\00:13:45.89 of gift cards that go unclaimed every year. 00:13:45.92\00:13:50.13 That's right. 00:13:50.16\00:13:51.83 As in money, right? 00:13:51.86\00:13:53.19 Money, money, $5.8 billion worth of money 00:13:53.23\00:13:55.80 that's unclaimed, 00:13:55.83\00:13:57.17 that people never actually go to the store 00:13:57.20\00:13:58.67 and buy something with their gift card, and yet, 00:13:58.70\00:14:02.10 with the Word of God, 00:14:02.14\00:14:03.94 how many times 00:14:03.97\00:14:05.31 do these promises go unclaimed? 00:14:05.34\00:14:08.91 We don't even know what the promises are, 00:14:08.94\00:14:12.11 and then if we do know what they are, 00:14:12.15\00:14:13.95 maybe we're afraid to claim them. 00:14:13.98\00:14:15.85 That's right. 00:14:15.88\00:14:17.29 So why do you think... 00:14:17.32\00:14:18.65 And you bring up a good point, 00:14:18.69\00:14:20.02 why do you think we'd be afraid 00:14:20.06\00:14:21.39 of claiming a promise? 00:14:21.42\00:14:23.12 It's a good question. 00:14:23.16\00:14:24.69 Well, you know, I look at it, 00:14:24.73\00:14:26.63 I've seen in my own life and can attest that 00:14:26.66\00:14:29.96 when you get confident in something, 00:14:30.00\00:14:31.97 you think that you can do it. 00:14:32.00\00:14:34.50 And then you look at, "Well, you know, I can do it." 00:14:34.54\00:14:38.67 And then you fall, and then you wonder, "Why did I fall?" 00:14:38.71\00:14:43.55 And that for me, it was reflecting back 00:14:43.58\00:14:46.11 that maybe I took my eye off Jesus, 00:14:46.15\00:14:49.18 and I thought I could do it myself. 00:14:49.22\00:14:51.85 And that's where I... 00:14:51.89\00:14:54.79 Like in your own strength. Yes. 00:14:54.82\00:14:56.89 Yeah, that's a good point. 00:14:56.93\00:14:58.26 Yeah, and I think sometimes too, 00:14:58.29\00:14:59.63 we might be afraid of claiming a promise 00:14:59.66\00:15:01.00 because we're afraid of failure because we think we're the one 00:15:01.03\00:15:04.07 that's making the promise come to its fruition. 00:15:04.10\00:15:07.17 Well, that's proven by the fact 00:15:07.20\00:15:08.54 that we often give God a couple of alternatives, 00:15:08.57\00:15:11.97 you know, if this doesn't work out, 00:15:12.01\00:15:13.98 maybe you can go this route. 00:15:14.01\00:15:15.81 And so instead of just claiming His promise 00:15:15.84\00:15:17.85 and knowing that He's true to His word, 00:15:17.88\00:15:19.91 but, yeah, failures are... 00:15:19.95\00:15:22.45 Like maybe an embarrassment, like, "Okay, 00:15:22.48\00:15:24.02 so we prayed for this, we've claimed God's promise, 00:15:24.05\00:15:26.35 and then it doesn't happen the way 00:15:26.39\00:15:27.96 we think it should necessarily happen." 00:15:27.99\00:15:29.32 Right. 00:15:29.36\00:15:30.69 Like we give God out, you think sometimes. 00:15:30.73\00:15:32.06 Yeah, yeah. That's right. 00:15:32.09\00:15:33.43 I do. That's right. 00:15:33.46\00:15:34.80 Don't you think also it could be 00:15:34.83\00:15:36.16 if we don't know who God is? 00:15:36.20\00:15:37.53 I mean, how can you trust someone's promise 00:15:37.57\00:15:39.90 if you don't know who they are? 00:15:39.93\00:15:42.04 So if Greg were to say, 00:15:42.07\00:15:43.71 "I'm coming home at this time, " 00:15:43.74\00:15:45.07 and what if he always came home late? 00:15:45.11\00:15:46.44 Well, pretty soon, you don't trust that, right? 00:15:46.47\00:15:48.24 You think, "Okay..." 00:15:48.28\00:15:49.61 And he usually comes home on time. 00:15:49.64\00:15:50.98 I don't mean that. 00:15:51.01\00:15:52.35 Actually, we usually go home together. 00:15:52.38\00:15:53.72 But you ride together. We ride together. 00:15:53.75\00:15:55.08 So it doesn't matter. 00:15:55.12\00:15:56.45 That's how you keep your tongue on it. 00:15:56.48\00:15:57.82 Yeah. Yes, that's interesting. 00:15:57.85\00:15:59.19 We ride together. 00:15:59.22\00:16:00.56 But, you know, if you don't know the person, 00:16:00.59\00:16:01.92 then how can you trust them? 00:16:01.96\00:16:03.69 Let's look at our kickoff scripture, 00:16:03.73\00:16:05.53 Isaiah 55:11. 00:16:05.56\00:16:09.80 Does anyone have that? They want to read Isaiah 55:11? 00:16:09.83\00:16:14.40 "So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth. 00:16:14.44\00:16:18.57 It shall not return to Me void, 00:16:18.61\00:16:21.28 but I shall accomplish what I please, 00:16:21.31\00:16:23.65 and I shall prosper in the thing 00:16:23.68\00:16:25.75 for which I sent it." 00:16:25.78\00:16:28.65 Amen. Powerful. 00:16:28.68\00:16:30.15 So what does that mean? 00:16:30.19\00:16:33.05 When you read that scripture, what does it mean? 00:16:33.09\00:16:34.49 He's true to His word, what He says, He will do. 00:16:34.52\00:16:36.42 Yeah. That's right. 00:16:36.46\00:16:37.86 And it's not empty. 00:16:37.89\00:16:39.23 I mean, it is a promise like we're talking about. 00:16:39.26\00:16:41.66 That has validity and to prosper. 00:16:41.70\00:16:46.90 And we can hold on to that promise. 00:16:46.94\00:16:50.67 I like that. 00:16:50.71\00:16:52.04 Yeah, I like... 00:16:52.07\00:16:53.41 What version are you reading from 00:16:53.44\00:16:54.78 'cause I like the version that you're reading from? 00:16:54.81\00:16:56.14 New King James, New King James. 00:16:56.18\00:16:57.51 Yeah, so, toward the end, I think Francine has said... 00:16:57.55\00:17:00.18 We'll read it again 00:17:00.22\00:17:01.55 because in there it actually has "I", 00:17:01.58\00:17:02.92 mine doesn't actually have that in the King James Version. 00:17:02.95\00:17:04.39 "And it shall prosper in the thing 00:17:04.42\00:17:06.76 for which I sent it." 00:17:06.79\00:17:08.49 Okay, yes. 00:17:08.52\00:17:09.86 So, yeah, so God is the one that's accomplishing it, 00:17:09.89\00:17:12.33 doesn't say... 00:17:12.36\00:17:13.70 Yes. That's right. 00:17:13.73\00:17:15.06 You're doing it on your own. 00:17:15.10\00:17:16.43 Yeah, exactly, yeah. 00:17:16.46\00:17:17.80 It says, "The God's the one that's doing it." 00:17:17.83\00:17:19.60 And I like this here too, 00:17:19.63\00:17:20.97 "And this shall not return unto Me void." 00:17:21.00\00:17:23.41 This is a powerful promise. 00:17:23.44\00:17:24.87 It really is. That's right. 00:17:24.91\00:17:26.24 Yeah, that when God's word goes out, it won't return void. 00:17:26.27\00:17:29.88 So this is God's word, this is the Bible, 00:17:29.91\00:17:32.15 and these are the promises that we're claiming 00:17:32.18\00:17:34.58 and going to be sharing this evening. 00:17:34.62\00:17:35.95 And I know that you have some too that are probably 00:17:35.98\00:17:38.09 your favorite promises in the Bible as well. 00:17:38.12\00:17:41.02 And so we're going to be sharing 00:17:41.06\00:17:42.39 some experiences this evening, 00:17:42.42\00:17:43.86 but if you ever feel like writing to 3ABN 00:17:43.89\00:17:46.03 and just saying, "Hey, this promise, 00:17:46.06\00:17:47.56 that's something to me because of this and this." 00:17:47.60\00:17:50.57 We would love to hear that, 00:17:50.60\00:17:51.93 so hopefully, you'll take the time to do that. 00:17:51.97\00:17:53.54 It's encouraging, Tim, to get those. 00:17:53.57\00:17:54.90 Yes, that's the part... 00:17:54.94\00:17:56.27 Yeah the word where it says, "We overcome by the power 00:17:56.30\00:17:57.94 of the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony," 00:17:57.97\00:18:01.08 so when we share our testimony with each other 00:18:01.11\00:18:03.65 how God has proven on His promises come true. 00:18:03.68\00:18:07.52 Yeah, we want those. 00:18:07.55\00:18:09.35 We need more of those. 00:18:09.38\00:18:11.02 Amen. Absolutely. 00:18:11.05\00:18:12.39 So if you look at categories of promises in God's Word, 00:18:12.42\00:18:14.62 what would you say are some categories of promises? 00:18:14.66\00:18:17.63 If we were to actually, you know, line them out, 00:18:17.66\00:18:19.93 and we say, "Well, where do they fall under?" 00:18:19.96\00:18:23.10 Or "What type of things can we claim in God's Word?" 00:18:23.13\00:18:26.60 What would you say? 00:18:26.63\00:18:27.97 I think as materialistic as we are, 00:18:28.00\00:18:31.71 we easily go for the material things, 00:18:31.74\00:18:34.84 you know, finances, that's where, 00:18:34.88\00:18:37.81 you know, every day meets the everyday need. 00:18:37.85\00:18:40.92 So I would say, you know, 00:18:40.95\00:18:42.28 promises that we claim for Him 00:18:42.32\00:18:44.82 to provide and give us this day our daily bread even, 00:18:44.85\00:18:48.09 that's when we request that. 00:18:48.12\00:18:49.96 And so I would, I would say material thing. 00:18:49.99\00:18:52.89 Yeah, like our daily needs. 00:18:52.93\00:18:54.43 Right. Absolutely. 00:18:54.46\00:18:55.80 And for me, there is the peace as that, or finding comfort, 00:18:55.83\00:19:00.17 and there's several of them that you just find comfort 00:19:00.20\00:19:04.14 that God's got it under control. 00:19:04.17\00:19:06.27 Amen. 00:19:06.31\00:19:07.64 So be peace, I like that. 00:19:07.68\00:19:09.01 I like that. Let's look at some of those. 00:19:09.04\00:19:12.08 Shall we start with a materialistic one, Tim? 00:19:12.11\00:19:14.78 Well, you don't have to actually. 00:19:14.82\00:19:16.32 It's a great promise. 00:19:16.35\00:19:17.69 You're always a little more spiritual. 00:19:17.72\00:19:19.05 I'm always over here being the heathen. 00:19:19.09\00:19:21.39 That's a great promise though, right? 00:19:21.42\00:19:23.39 But it's a promise in God's Word, 00:19:23.43\00:19:24.76 so it's not being a heathen. 00:19:24.79\00:19:26.13 So we should look at some promises 00:19:26.16\00:19:27.50 on provision, right? 00:19:27.53\00:19:28.86 For how God takes care of us. 00:19:28.90\00:19:30.37 Something comes to mind is Matthew. 00:19:30.40\00:19:32.43 Let's look at that. Matthew 6? 00:19:32.47\00:19:34.24 Yep. 00:19:34.27\00:19:35.60 And then we'll look at peace. 00:19:35.64\00:19:36.97 Matthew 6, I love that, the Sermon on the Mount, 00:19:39.77\00:19:42.68 so many practical tools for how we can live 00:19:42.71\00:19:45.61 as Christians, you know. 00:19:45.65\00:19:46.98 And I'll read that. 00:19:47.02\00:19:48.35 Oh, good. You got that? 00:19:48.38\00:19:49.72 Yeah. 00:19:49.75\00:19:51.09 "Therefore, do not worry..." 00:19:51.12\00:19:52.45 What verse are you in? 00:19:52.49\00:19:53.82 Matthew 6... 00:19:53.86\00:19:55.19 Verse? Verse 31-33. 00:19:55.22\00:19:56.56 Perfect. Got it. 00:19:56.59\00:19:57.93 And just correct me if I'm wrong. 00:19:57.96\00:19:59.29 No, you're good. 00:19:59.33\00:20:00.66 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' 00:20:00.70\00:20:02.03 Or 'What shall we drink?' 00:20:02.06\00:20:03.40 Or 'What shall we wear?' 00:20:03.43\00:20:04.77 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. 00:20:04.80\00:20:07.17 For your Heavenly Father knows that you need 00:20:07.20\00:20:09.30 all these things but seek first the kingdom of God 00:20:09.34\00:20:12.24 and His righteousness, and all these things 00:20:12.27\00:20:14.31 shall be added to you." 00:20:14.34\00:20:18.41 What does that say to you? 00:20:18.45\00:20:20.65 That, you know, it's easy to get caught up 00:20:20.68\00:20:25.25 in the need itself, 00:20:25.29\00:20:28.02 but the verse 33 00:20:28.06\00:20:29.42 is just something I remember learning as a kid, 00:20:29.46\00:20:31.29 "Seek first the kingdom of God." 00:20:31.33\00:20:34.50 And so order is important, 00:20:34.53\00:20:39.47 you know? 00:20:39.50\00:20:40.84 As with anyone, 00:20:40.87\00:20:42.37 even in our human relationships, 00:20:42.40\00:20:45.01 to expect a promise, 00:20:45.04\00:20:46.84 we've got to set things in order. 00:20:46.88\00:20:48.64 We can't just go and barge in and, 00:20:48.68\00:20:50.31 you know, demand something from you. 00:20:50.35\00:20:52.61 I've got to earn your trust, 00:20:52.65\00:20:55.22 and we just need to have 00:20:55.25\00:20:57.29 a better relationship than me just coming in 00:20:57.32\00:20:59.55 and always being needy. 00:20:59.59\00:21:01.39 So yet God wants us to seek Him first, I think, 00:21:01.42\00:21:05.66 seek Him first, not what He can do for us. 00:21:05.69\00:21:09.70 That's right. 00:21:09.73\00:21:11.07 Seek His heart and seek who He is, His character. 00:21:11.10\00:21:13.70 And then He says that, 00:21:13.74\00:21:15.07 "All these things will give those things to you," 00:21:15.10\00:21:16.60 because that's what a father does. 00:21:16.64\00:21:17.97 Amen. 00:21:18.01\00:21:19.34 He sees how in love you are with him, 00:21:19.37\00:21:21.18 and he can't help but want to be good to you. 00:21:21.21\00:21:23.31 So I love that. 00:21:23.35\00:21:24.68 But it comes to me, in mind anyway, 00:21:24.71\00:21:27.65 that when these provisions are met, 00:21:27.68\00:21:30.09 you're more open to different things. 00:21:30.12\00:21:31.92 You have that other peace, everything else 00:21:31.95\00:21:34.32 falls back into place, when you... 00:21:34.36\00:21:35.86 And even Jesus recognized that, 00:21:35.89\00:21:37.96 when He was with the people 00:21:37.99\00:21:39.69 that He recognized that He needed to be with... 00:21:39.73\00:21:42.13 You know, meet their hunger needs or meet their needs 00:21:42.16\00:21:44.87 and then came the ministry. 00:21:44.90\00:21:47.40 That's cool. That's true. 00:21:47.44\00:21:48.77 I like that. 00:21:48.80\00:21:50.14 Yeah, that is excellent actually, 00:21:50.17\00:21:51.51 so meeting like the physical needs, 00:21:51.54\00:21:53.21 they're open, yeah. 00:21:53.24\00:21:55.01 He fed the 5000, sorry. Yeah, it shows God's care. 00:21:55.04\00:21:57.48 But what's interesting is Jesus always spent that time 00:21:57.51\00:22:01.92 in the mountains or in nature early in the morning 00:22:01.95\00:22:06.79 to get that connection. 00:22:06.82\00:22:08.39 And that connection, like you said, "Seek ye first, " 00:22:08.42\00:22:13.26 and then everything was added. 00:22:13.29\00:22:15.36 And like you said, 00:22:15.40\00:22:16.93 the day went well 00:22:16.97\00:22:18.37 and people were blessed and God was glorified. 00:22:18.40\00:22:22.27 Amen. 00:22:22.30\00:22:23.64 Don't you think in our own, not spiritual life 00:22:23.67\00:22:26.64 but I mean physical with other people, 00:22:26.68\00:22:28.34 in our relationships, 00:22:28.38\00:22:29.71 in our friendships with other people, 00:22:29.74\00:22:31.48 and I don't know if you all are like this, 00:22:31.51\00:22:33.42 but sometimes it bothers me if I feel like 00:22:33.45\00:22:35.58 someone wants to be my friend because of what they can get. 00:22:35.62\00:22:39.12 Because of something they think I can do for them 00:22:39.15\00:22:42.12 or something they think that they can get from me, 00:22:42.16\00:22:45.99 but I want someone to be my friend 00:22:46.03\00:22:47.36 just 'cause they like who I am, you know, 00:22:47.40\00:22:49.23 and because they like you as a person. 00:22:49.26\00:22:51.07 So I don't know, I'm not trying to trivialize God 00:22:51.10\00:22:54.10 because we can't even begin to understand His greatness, 00:22:54.14\00:22:57.61 but in some senses, 00:22:57.64\00:22:58.97 I would think God's the same way. 00:22:59.01\00:23:00.34 If I just come saying, "Give me this, I want that, 00:23:00.38\00:23:03.38 take care of this." 00:23:03.41\00:23:04.75 Instead of... 00:23:04.78\00:23:06.48 He wants us to come to Him because we love Him 00:23:06.51\00:23:08.62 'cause we want Him as person. 00:23:08.65\00:23:10.79 That's right. 00:23:10.82\00:23:12.15 Yeah, and also what is interesting 00:23:12.19\00:23:14.02 about this section of verses, 31 talks about... 00:23:14.06\00:23:17.56 It's not only His provision, 00:23:17.59\00:23:19.29 but it's His concern 00:23:19.33\00:23:20.66 that we worry about these things. 00:23:20.70\00:23:22.50 That's right. 00:23:22.53\00:23:23.87 How many times have I been, you know, just... 00:23:23.90\00:23:26.40 It was the worry and the concern, 00:23:26.43\00:23:29.27 the frustration, the doubt, the whole questioning, 00:23:29.30\00:23:32.34 the whole being tied up in knots 00:23:32.37\00:23:34.34 as to how the need was going to be met 00:23:34.38\00:23:37.08 was almost even worse than the need itself. 00:23:37.11\00:23:40.52 And so God certainly 00:23:40.55\00:23:41.88 doesn't want us to worry, you know. 00:23:41.92\00:23:43.45 I have heard so many times, God owns the cattle 00:23:43.49\00:23:46.79 on the thousand hills 00:23:46.82\00:23:48.16 and the potatoes in those hills. 00:23:48.19\00:23:49.52 That's right. 00:23:49.56\00:23:50.89 So, you know... 00:23:50.93\00:23:52.26 That's good. 00:23:52.29\00:23:53.63 The fact that... 00:23:53.66\00:23:55.00 He's got it covered, 00:23:55.03\00:23:56.36 so He doesn't want us to worry about it, for sure. 00:23:56.40\00:23:57.73 That's good. What a promise. 00:25:22.72\00:25:24.39 Yeah. 00:25:24.42\00:25:25.75 So we don't have to worry about what we wear, 00:25:25.79\00:25:27.89 we don't have to worry about 00:25:27.92\00:25:29.26 what we're going to do tomorrow 00:25:29.29\00:25:31.06 because He already has a plan for us 00:25:31.09\00:25:33.70 but seeking Him first. 00:25:33.73\00:25:36.10 You know, what's powerful, Jason, 00:25:36.13\00:25:37.47 on this is that it starts out, the second word, 00:25:37.50\00:25:40.00 at least in here, it says, "But my God." 00:25:40.04\00:25:42.77 It doesn't say, "By God," but, "My God." 00:25:42.80\00:25:45.31 Boy, that sounds really personal, isn't it? 00:25:45.34\00:25:46.98 Yes. Absolutely. 00:28:41.32\00:28:42.65 I was going to touch on one thing too you said, 00:28:42.68\00:28:44.02 Tim and Francine and Jason, Jill and I love nature. 00:28:44.05\00:28:47.92 And so there's, you know, 00:28:47.96\00:28:49.36 great scriptures in the Bible 00:28:49.39\00:28:50.73 about the birds, you know, and you think about God 00:28:50.76\00:28:53.66 supplying our need, but the birds, 00:28:53.70\00:28:55.70 He said He'd take care of the birds, 00:28:55.73\00:28:57.07 but the birds are going out there 00:28:57.10\00:28:58.43 and actually gathering and finding the seeds, 00:28:58.47\00:29:00.37 the little bugs, they're not just sitting there 00:29:00.40\00:29:01.87 on the little branch just singing 00:29:01.90\00:29:04.24 all day without going out. 00:29:04.27\00:29:06.11 Yeah, so God is, yeah, supplying. 00:29:06.14\00:29:07.81 He supplies the bugs for the birds 00:29:07.84\00:29:09.38 and the little seeds 00:29:09.41\00:29:10.75 and all that stuff for the birds to go out 00:29:10.78\00:29:12.11 and actually work, pick up the little things. 00:29:12.15\00:29:13.95 And so I liked what you said, Tim, 00:29:13.98\00:29:15.78 that God wants us to actually do our part. 00:29:15.82\00:29:17.69 Amen. 00:29:17.72\00:29:19.05 Whatever much more, we're going to go to peace, weren't we? 00:29:19.09\00:29:20.42 Yeah, let's look at peace. 00:29:20.46\00:29:21.79 We'll stay in the Philippians 4 because there's a great promise 00:29:21.82\00:29:24.69 in Philippians 4 on peace. 00:29:24.73\00:29:26.80 and 7. 00:29:29.66\00:29:33.30 You have that, Sweetie? I do. 00:29:33.34\00:29:34.70 Yes, Philippians 4:6 and 7 says, 00:29:34.74\00:29:37.34 "Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer 00:29:37.37\00:29:40.61 and supplication, with thanksgiving, 00:29:40.64\00:29:43.04 let your requests be made known unto God. 00:29:43.08\00:29:46.25 And the peace of God which passeth all understanding 00:29:46.28\00:29:49.65 shall keep your hearts and minds 00:29:49.68\00:29:51.92 through Christ Jesus." 00:29:51.95\00:29:53.76 Well, that's great. 00:29:53.79\00:29:55.12 Verse 7, "And the peace of God," 00:29:55.16\00:29:56.52 I don't know what the Peace of God would... 00:29:56.56\00:29:58.19 I mean, He has utmost peace, right? 00:29:58.23\00:29:59.96 Yeah. 00:30:00.00\00:30:01.33 Yeah, wow, so to have that in our lives... 00:30:01.36\00:30:03.26 I like how it says be anxious for nothing. 00:30:03.30\00:30:06.94 Yes. I love that. 00:30:06.97\00:30:08.30 It doesn't say some things. It said nothing. 00:30:08.34\00:30:11.14 And again, it's that He doesn't want you to worry, 00:30:11.17\00:30:14.01 He doesn't want you to be anxious, 00:30:14.04\00:30:15.38 so it has so much more to even than to do with Him 00:30:15.41\00:30:18.91 meeting the need. 00:30:18.95\00:30:20.35 It's what you go through while we go through 00:30:20.38\00:30:22.78 and worrying about or being full of care 00:30:22.82\00:30:26.25 or careful about the need. 00:30:26.29\00:30:29.99 It reminds us also with Thanksgiving, 00:30:30.03\00:30:32.19 and I think that always reminds me 00:30:32.23\00:30:34.46 that I need to be grateful. 00:30:34.50\00:30:36.43 Oh, yeah. 00:30:36.46\00:30:37.80 And the things God has blessed us and already... 00:30:37.83\00:30:40.47 Again, claiming that promise that, 00:30:40.50\00:30:42.44 "Lord, you've already blessed me this far. 00:30:42.47\00:30:44.67 I know you're going to fulfill it again." 00:30:44.71\00:30:46.78 Amen. 00:30:46.81\00:30:48.21 Don't you think that thanksgiving 00:30:48.24\00:30:49.74 has something to do with the anxious? 00:30:49.78\00:30:51.58 In my mind, it does. 00:30:51.61\00:30:52.95 So if I give thanks, 00:30:52.98\00:30:55.18 my anxiousness decreases, right? 00:30:55.22\00:30:57.39 So if I'm focused on the need or what I want, 00:30:57.42\00:31:00.36 then the anxiousness increases, but if I choose to give thanks, 00:31:00.39\00:31:04.49 prayer, supplication, give it to Him and give thanks, 00:31:04.53\00:31:07.60 I think that pulls the anxiousness down. 00:31:07.63\00:31:09.73 Absolutely. 00:31:09.76\00:31:11.47 it's important... 00:31:11.50\00:31:13.34 Today, there is a big... 00:31:13.37\00:31:15.74 Well, I'll just say, in my life, every morning, 00:31:15.77\00:31:18.84 I try to start with gratitude, that's the first words 00:31:18.87\00:31:22.81 come out of my mouth is, 00:31:22.84\00:31:24.18 "Lord, thank You for just good night's rest 00:31:24.21\00:31:26.78 or a pillow." 00:31:26.82\00:31:28.35 And I was just talking to my son last night 00:31:28.38\00:31:30.42 who is getting back into school. 00:31:30.45\00:31:32.69 And he was overwhelmed by all the things 00:31:32.72\00:31:36.02 that were going on, and I said, 00:31:36.06\00:31:37.56 "Son, just take time first of all, 00:31:37.59\00:31:39.96 let's put it in order, 00:31:40.00\00:31:41.33 let's tell God how thankful we are for some things," 00:31:41.36\00:31:44.60 you know, so gratitude is huge. 00:31:44.63\00:31:47.77 You know, that is a good point 00:31:47.80\00:31:49.14 because I'm thinking of your son, 00:31:49.17\00:31:50.51 then so in other words, yeah, I may be overwhelmed, 00:31:50.54\00:31:51.87 but thank you... 00:31:51.91\00:31:53.24 I don't know all that he's dealing with, 00:31:53.27\00:31:54.61 but, you know, thank You, God, 00:31:54.64\00:31:55.98 that I actually have the opportunity 00:31:56.01\00:31:57.35 to get education, 00:31:57.38\00:31:58.71 that I can see my book work have a hand 00:31:58.75\00:32:00.08 to write anything out or type something." 00:32:00.12\00:32:02.58 That's a good point. 00:32:02.62\00:32:03.95 So we could actually read, then go into Philippians 4:19, 00:32:03.99\00:32:06.39 we could actually say, "Thank You, God, 00:32:06.42\00:32:08.69 for supplying all of my needs according to Your riches 00:32:08.72\00:32:12.49 and glory by Christ Jesus." 00:32:12.53\00:32:14.13 So I like the gratitude part. 00:32:14.16\00:32:16.16 Yeah, I think it actually helps us realize 00:32:16.20\00:32:18.83 wherever I think I'm from. 00:32:18.87\00:32:20.20 Yeah, I love that. All right. 00:34:28.93\00:34:30.27 So you mentioned... Go ahead. 00:34:30.30\00:34:31.63 I've just got to add on to that because it's important... 00:34:31.67\00:34:34.87 It's important 'cause I have to say it. 00:34:34.90\00:34:37.97 I have a really good friend 00:34:38.01\00:34:41.21 who was just sharing with me this morning 00:34:41.24\00:34:44.25 about how that God told her to put up buckets. 00:34:44.28\00:34:50.19 In facts, she had a dream that she was to place buckets 00:34:50.22\00:34:53.89 throughout her house. 00:34:53.92\00:34:55.62 And they were to receive blessings. 00:34:55.66\00:35:00.30 And so she went to a store and brought 00:35:00.33\00:35:04.43 several little plastic buckets, 00:35:04.47\00:35:06.53 and they're scattered around her house now. 00:35:06.57\00:35:09.17 And she has a housekeeper that is not a Christian. 00:35:09.20\00:35:14.04 And she said that a couple days ago 00:35:14.08\00:35:18.31 when the housekeeper was there, 00:35:18.35\00:35:20.52 she had an opportunity to explain 00:35:20.55\00:35:22.85 what those buckets were about. 00:35:22.88\00:35:24.85 And then when the housekeeper turned in her hours, 00:35:24.89\00:35:29.86 she said, "Well, I was actually here 00:35:29.89\00:35:31.23 for two and a half hours, 00:35:31.26\00:35:32.59 but you just pay me $30, 00:35:32.63\00:35:36.10 and put the rest in those buckets." 00:35:36.13\00:35:38.50 Like she was planting a seed. 00:35:38.53\00:35:40.87 And so even to the unbeliever, 00:35:40.90\00:35:42.74 she was able to share her faith, 00:35:42.77\00:35:46.91 and my friend was able to, you know, explain, 00:35:46.94\00:35:51.81 you know, and just provide an example 00:35:51.85\00:35:53.35 of what it means. 00:35:53.38\00:35:54.72 And that's, you know, I don't know 00:35:54.75\00:35:57.52 what those buckets necessarily mean. 00:35:57.55\00:35:58.99 They may not be for money, they made... 00:35:59.02\00:36:01.39 Sometimes God asks you to do something 00:36:01.42\00:36:03.53 just to be obedient, you know. 00:36:03.56\00:36:09.20 So anyway, I know that those buckets 00:36:09.23\00:36:12.20 will represent her belief, 00:36:12.23\00:36:14.14 and she said that she has had to give away, 00:36:14.17\00:36:16.87 God has encouraged her to give away $500 00:36:16.91\00:36:20.54 in the past week to... 00:36:20.58\00:36:24.15 To bless. To bless others, yeah. 00:36:24.18\00:36:26.58 And she said, "I've got my buckets out here. 00:36:26.61\00:36:29.65 How can that work?" 00:36:29.68\00:36:31.02 Well, you know, how that works and when you give, 00:36:31.05\00:36:35.32 God blesses you in return for giving and tithing. 00:36:35.36\00:36:38.79 In Malachi, it says, you know... 00:36:38.83\00:36:40.96 Open up the windows of heaven. 00:36:41.00\00:36:42.33 That's right. 00:36:42.36\00:36:43.70 You know, we don't have that here, 00:36:43.73\00:36:45.07 but that's another promise. 00:36:45.10\00:36:46.43 Well, I've got it right here. You, do? 00:36:46.47\00:36:47.80 Okay, good job. Oh, good. 00:36:47.84\00:36:49.17 Yeah, yeah, Malachi. 00:36:49.20\00:36:50.54 I'm a firm believer in this that... 00:36:50.57\00:36:51.91 Okay, so if you put your buckets out there, 00:36:51.94\00:36:53.27 yes, you might get some money back, 00:36:53.31\00:36:54.64 you know, but I also believe... 00:36:54.68\00:36:56.01 I don't know, I can't really certainly prove it, 00:36:56.04\00:36:58.21 but the tires on my car, maybe if God hadn't blessed, 00:36:58.25\00:37:01.42 would have worn out 10,000 miles ago, 00:37:01.45\00:37:03.32 I don't know. 00:37:03.35\00:37:04.69 It's just those things that I believe God does, 00:37:04.72\00:37:06.25 or I could have been sick 365 days in one year, 00:37:06.29\00:37:09.29 and I was only sick, you know, seven days, I don't know, 00:37:09.32\00:37:11.73 you know, just those little things 00:37:11.76\00:37:13.09 that I think we need to be cognizant of, recognize, 00:37:13.13\00:37:14.86 like you're saying... 00:37:14.90\00:37:16.23 Children of Israel walked all that way 00:37:16.26\00:37:17.60 without their shoes wearing out. 00:37:17.63\00:37:19.80 Yeah, many times, we're a conduit. 00:37:19.83\00:37:21.50 Yes. 00:37:21.54\00:37:22.87 You know, we're a conduit with the love Jesus gives us, 00:37:22.90\00:37:25.74 with our resources... 00:37:25.77\00:37:27.11 Yes. 00:37:27.14\00:37:28.48 With banana bread. Yeah, that's right. 00:37:28.51\00:37:29.84 And when, you know, I look at it as a vessel. 00:37:29.88\00:37:32.91 When we pour out that vessel, 00:37:32.95\00:37:35.72 then the Lord gets an opportunity 00:37:35.75\00:37:37.12 to fill it with more. 00:37:37.15\00:37:38.82 And then we pour it out, 00:37:38.85\00:37:40.19 and it's kind of like the Holy Spirit. 00:37:40.22\00:37:41.56 When we share the good news, He fills us with more. 00:37:41.59\00:37:45.06 And the Lord ultimately is praised because of it. 00:37:45.09\00:37:48.23 Yes. Absolutely. 00:37:48.26\00:37:49.60 You know, Francine, I'm thinking of you 00:37:49.63\00:37:51.83 in the education field, and I know that you worked, 00:37:51.87\00:37:54.40 I think, with public and Christian, 00:37:54.44\00:37:56.00 you know, in that setting, 00:37:56.04\00:37:57.57 but, wow, what a conduit as a teacher you can be, 00:37:57.61\00:38:01.38 especially with this little young minds 00:38:01.41\00:38:03.04 that are being formed. 00:38:03.08\00:38:04.41 And it's constantly again, 00:38:04.45\00:38:05.78 prayer first in the classroom definitely. 00:38:05.81\00:38:11.72 And I think too, you know, vessel may be 00:38:11.75\00:38:13.09 being poured through you, but also who you are... 00:38:13.12\00:38:15.32 That's right. As a person. 00:38:15.36\00:38:17.26 Who you are as a person and your walk with God 00:38:17.29\00:38:18.63 that comes through. 00:38:18.66\00:38:20.00 That's a huge, yeah, a huge testimony. 00:38:20.03\00:38:21.36 Absolutely. I'm sure. 00:38:21.40\00:38:22.73 Do you have all have any testimonies or promises 00:38:22.76\00:38:24.63 that you've claimed? 00:38:24.67\00:38:26.03 I'll let you go first. 00:38:26.07\00:38:27.44 Oh, you want me to go first? Yay! 00:38:27.47\00:38:30.24 Well, I think one of them, 00:38:30.27\00:38:31.61 and it comes back to the peace again, for me, 00:38:31.64\00:38:34.84 and it would be in the 1 Peter 5:7. 00:38:34.88\00:38:38.45 Can we look that up here? 00:38:38.48\00:38:39.81 Definitely. 1 Peter 5:7. 00:38:39.85\00:38:43.12 We hope you're turning in your Bibles at home too. 00:38:43.15\00:38:45.85 This is a Bible Study together. 00:38:45.89\00:38:47.36 1 Peter, find 1 Peter. 00:38:47.39\00:38:48.96 And with this one, I always like the song 00:38:48.99\00:38:50.96 that comes with it. 00:38:50.99\00:38:52.33 Some of us might know it, but later. 00:38:52.36\00:38:54.56 "Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 00:38:54.60\00:38:58.30 And there's so many times that I'm anxious, 00:38:58.33\00:39:00.30 maybe it is that student that I want to reach, 00:39:00.34\00:39:03.20 and I don't know just quite 00:39:03.24\00:39:04.57 how to connect with that student 00:39:04.61\00:39:06.37 because maybe they're struggling at home. 00:39:06.41\00:39:08.21 There's lots of issues that are going on. 00:39:08.24\00:39:10.88 And I have to just say, 00:39:10.91\00:39:12.25 "Lord, I need to put it down at You." 00:39:12.28\00:39:15.08 And there's an experience that Jason and I 00:39:15.12\00:39:17.65 come back to every once in a while. 00:39:17.69\00:39:19.45 We were at a camp, and we were volunteering, 00:39:19.49\00:39:22.92 and it was late at night, it was close to midnight, 00:39:22.96\00:39:25.53 and we were heading back to a lodge. 00:39:25.56\00:39:29.63 And we were walking, 00:39:29.66\00:39:32.43 and we could see the lights for a while, 00:39:32.47\00:39:34.07 but then it got so dark because it was in the woods. 00:39:34.10\00:39:37.17 And we couldn't see the moon, we couldn't see any light. 00:39:37.21\00:39:40.88 And we didn't have a flashlight. 00:39:40.91\00:39:42.24 And we did not bring our flashlight. 00:39:42.28\00:39:44.08 Oh, no. 00:39:44.11\00:39:45.45 And so we were realizing how valuable that flashlight, 00:39:45.48\00:39:49.35 it being a light is. 00:39:49.38\00:39:50.75 And so we were walking in the dark, 00:39:50.79\00:39:53.79 and we had to finally say, "Lord..." 00:39:53.82\00:39:57.79 We decided to pray right then and there, 00:39:57.83\00:39:59.79 we just stopped where we were, 00:39:59.83\00:40:01.23 and we decided to pray. 00:40:01.26\00:40:02.60 And we said, "Lord, we don't know 00:40:02.63\00:40:03.97 where we're going. 00:40:04.00\00:40:05.33 We honestly need Your help." 00:40:05.37\00:40:07.90 And so we, and then we woke up, 00:40:07.94\00:40:10.41 and we realized in the stillness, 00:40:10.44\00:40:12.54 in the peace of it, 00:40:12.57\00:40:14.44 then we could hear the water that was close by, 00:40:14.48\00:40:18.61 you felt a little more the path of the wood ships, 00:40:18.65\00:40:22.75 and you kind of knew where the trees were, 00:40:22.78\00:40:24.85 and you could... 00:40:24.89\00:40:26.22 You were more in tune with nature. 00:40:26.25\00:40:28.49 And again, God speaks through nature. 00:40:28.52\00:40:31.13 And it was just amazing that we... 00:40:31.16\00:40:34.53 I mean, it had to be a good... 00:40:34.56\00:40:36.77 I want to say close to half a mile 00:40:36.80\00:40:38.33 that we had to walk. 00:40:38.37\00:40:39.97 Yeah, it was a good distance. 00:40:40.00\00:40:41.34 And so it was a good distance that we just honestly 00:40:41.37\00:40:43.07 could not see our hand in front of us. 00:40:43.10\00:40:44.97 And we made it. 00:40:45.01\00:40:46.94 And then we finally saw the light in the cabin. 00:40:46.98\00:40:49.44 But again, and I love the song, 00:40:49.48\00:40:52.28 I will Cast All My cares Upon You, 00:40:52.31\00:40:54.02 I will lay down... 00:40:54.05\00:40:55.38 And there's many times at night, sometimes I wake up, 00:40:55.42\00:40:57.92 and I just have that fear or something 00:40:57.95\00:41:00.76 and that I want to reach a student, and I wake up, 00:41:00.79\00:41:04.09 and I say, "All right, let me pray. 00:41:04.13\00:41:07.40 Let me..." 00:41:07.43\00:41:08.76 And then I have to sing the song, 00:41:08.80\00:41:10.50 and sometimes I'll sing it three or five times 00:41:10.53\00:41:14.34 until I fall asleep, 00:41:14.37\00:41:15.70 and I just have to keep reminding myself, 00:41:15.74\00:41:17.71 "Lord, I'm laying all my cares at Your feet." 00:41:17.74\00:41:21.21 So that song is another important song 00:41:21.24\00:41:23.85 and another important text for me 00:41:23.88\00:41:26.28 that if I don't know what to do, 00:41:26.31\00:41:28.95 God has it already all planned out. 00:41:28.98\00:41:30.89 And He has led me time and time again 00:41:30.92\00:41:35.36 where I feel His promises, 00:41:35.39\00:41:37.16 and He make His way plain every time, every time, 00:41:37.19\00:41:41.46 and there's miracles upon miracles 00:41:41.50\00:41:43.30 that I'm just in awe every time I think about them. 00:41:43.33\00:41:47.34 Amen. It's a great text. 00:41:47.37\00:41:48.70 That's beautiful. 00:41:48.74\00:41:50.07 1 Peter 5:7, I like it, Francine. 00:41:50.11\00:41:52.11 I think of all the prescription drugs 00:41:52.14\00:41:54.14 that are prescribed for anxiety 00:41:54.18\00:41:57.35 and emotional situations with it, 00:41:57.38\00:41:59.51 if we would just cast all that on God, and again, 00:41:59.55\00:42:02.88 I know that's easier said than done, but, you know, 00:42:02.92\00:42:06.45 there's got to be a key somewhere 00:42:06.49\00:42:09.56 that we just surrender and say, "You know, I..." 00:42:09.59\00:42:13.43 Take it. 00:42:13.46\00:42:14.80 Yeah, "Get rid of this for me, God. 00:42:14.83\00:42:16.56 It's..." 00:42:16.60\00:42:17.93 "You know, you got it. I can't handle it. 00:42:17.97\00:42:19.30 And I don't want to be on medicine 00:42:19.33\00:42:21.67 to control my emotional situations, 00:42:21.70\00:42:25.11 concerns, anxieties. 00:42:25.14\00:42:26.78 You've got to do this." 00:42:26.81\00:42:28.14 So that is a beautiful. 00:42:28.18\00:42:29.51 Isn't it though casting all of your care. 00:42:29.54\00:42:30.88 1 Peter 5:7. 00:42:30.91\00:42:32.25 Yes, there's a little needle point 00:42:32.28\00:42:34.32 in my mom's kitchen ever since I was just a little boy. 00:42:34.35\00:42:36.69 She still has it 'cause we were home 00:42:36.72\00:42:38.29 to see my parents recently, and it's there, 00:42:38.32\00:42:40.96 and it shows little needle point 00:42:40.99\00:42:42.69 and little thread and it shows a little bunny rabbit 00:42:42.72\00:42:44.66 in somebody's garden. 00:42:44.69\00:42:46.03 He's standing on his hind little legs. 00:42:46.06\00:42:47.43 In his two front paws, he has two tops to two carrots, 00:42:47.46\00:42:50.60 and he's in just terrible anxiety, 00:42:50.63\00:42:52.13 like this. 00:42:52.17\00:42:53.64 In other words, he was trying to pull carrots 00:42:53.67\00:42:55.00 out of somebody's garden, 00:42:55.04\00:42:56.37 and all he gets are the little green tops, 00:42:56.40\00:42:57.74 and he wants the carrot. 00:42:57.77\00:42:59.11 And so it says this very text, 00:42:59.14\00:43:00.48 "Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you." 00:43:00.51\00:43:03.41 And so that was just a little illustration 00:43:03.45\00:43:05.08 that's been in my mom's kitchen 00:43:05.11\00:43:06.55 ever since I was just a little a little guy. 00:43:06.58\00:43:09.42 Oh, my, yes. 00:43:09.45\00:43:10.79 So when I read that, I'm always reminded that. 00:43:10.82\00:43:12.85 Jason, you have an experience you want to share? 00:43:12.89\00:43:14.99 Well, you know, the experience 00:43:15.02\00:43:17.56 that I have kind of relates to Philippians 4:13. 00:43:17.59\00:43:24.07 And it says in Philippians 4:13, 00:43:24.10\00:43:28.54 "I can do all things through Christ 00:43:28.57\00:43:31.27 who strengthens me." 00:43:31.31\00:43:32.64 Yes. 00:43:32.67\00:43:34.01 So I had a situation 00:43:34.04\00:43:35.38 when I was in Michigan conference. 00:43:35.41\00:43:37.08 I was there managing the legal side of the church. 00:43:37.11\00:43:42.58 And we were managing a number of annuities. 00:43:42.62\00:43:47.49 We had to deal with present value, 00:43:47.52\00:43:49.46 and we had this spreadsheet that, 00:43:49.49\00:43:52.23 it was a very complicated spreadsheet. 00:43:52.26\00:43:55.00 And you just have to mess up one little thing 00:43:55.03\00:43:57.97 and the whole thing was wrong. 00:43:58.00\00:43:59.33 Yes. Wow. 00:43:59.37\00:44:00.70 So you were very respectful of this spreadsheet. 00:44:00.74\00:44:04.07 Well, I had used it a number of times, 00:44:04.11\00:44:07.31 and a month after month, things were going really well. 00:44:07.34\00:44:10.88 And then one day, when I was the busiest, 00:44:10.91\00:44:14.05 it seemed, I was having a problem, 00:44:14.08\00:44:17.99 and I couldn't find where the problem was 00:44:18.02\00:44:21.42 in the spreadsheet. 00:44:21.46\00:44:22.96 So I spent one hour, two hours, 00:44:22.99\00:44:26.83 and all I'm thinking about 00:44:26.86\00:44:28.23 in these two hours is all the other stuff 00:44:28.26\00:44:30.63 that I should have been doing. 00:44:30.67\00:44:32.00 Sure. 00:44:32.03\00:44:33.37 And I finally, you know, I'm like, "Okay, I give up." 00:44:33.40\00:44:37.74 I went on my knees, and I said, you know, 00:44:37.77\00:44:39.84 in my office, I got on my knees, and I said, 00:44:39.87\00:44:41.68 "Lord, I need Your help." 00:44:41.71\00:44:44.65 I said, "Because I cannot find this," 00:44:44.68\00:44:47.35 and I said, "You know all these other things that I need to do. 00:44:47.38\00:44:50.75 I need your help." 00:44:50.79\00:44:52.19 So I remembered this promise, 00:44:52.22\00:44:55.99 I can do all things through Christ, 00:44:56.02\00:44:57.69 and I said, "Okay," I said, "Lord, You need to help me." 00:44:57.73\00:45:01.53 So within two minutes after getting up 00:45:01.56\00:45:05.33 from the prayer, 00:45:05.37\00:45:06.70 my eyes led me to where the problem was. 00:45:06.74\00:45:09.70 Sweet. 00:45:09.74\00:45:11.07 And I look at it, I'm like, "Wow!" 00:45:11.11\00:45:13.01 I'm like, "Lord, You are so good." 00:45:13.04\00:45:14.58 That's good. Amen. 00:45:14.61\00:45:15.94 But then I thought, 00:45:15.98\00:45:17.31 "Why didn't I do that two hours ago?" 00:45:17.35\00:45:20.55 So that sort of goes back to what I said earlier, 00:45:20.58\00:45:24.89 sometimes when you get confident, 00:45:24.92\00:45:27.09 you forget to ask the Lord for help. 00:45:27.12\00:45:30.89 And all that time I wasted, and. 00:45:30.93\00:45:35.26 you know, I remember now that when I get into trouble, 00:45:35.30\00:45:40.07 just ask the Lord right away 00:45:40.10\00:45:41.47 because it'll make things more efficient. 00:45:41.50\00:45:42.84 I love that. 00:45:42.87\00:45:44.21 Oh what needless pain we bear 00:45:44.24\00:45:46.07 all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer, 00:45:46.11\00:45:49.88 even the spreadsheet problems. 00:45:49.91\00:45:51.41 That's right. That's right. 00:45:51.45\00:45:52.78 Amen. 00:45:52.81\00:45:54.15 Then we kind of kick ourselves like you said afterward 00:45:54.18\00:45:55.52 and say, "Oh, why didn't I do that?" 00:45:55.55\00:45:56.89 That's right. That's great. 00:45:56.92\00:45:59.22 Any experience to mind or promise? 00:45:59.25\00:46:01.76 Well, you know, I have plenty of personal, 00:46:01.79\00:46:04.36 but I do want to just mention... 00:46:04.39\00:46:06.49 I mentioned earlier about this verse in Malachi, 00:46:06.53\00:46:10.37 but I have a friend out in California 00:46:10.40\00:46:15.34 who has just become so dear to me, 00:46:15.37\00:46:17.94 and she is teaching me lessons, 00:46:17.97\00:46:21.04 and she is talking about experimenting 00:46:21.08\00:46:24.25 with the Word of God. 00:46:24.28\00:46:26.15 And you say, "Experimenting? What's that all about?" 00:46:26.18\00:46:28.12 Well, she says, 00:46:28.15\00:46:30.09 "Having experienced the blessings of God 00:46:30.12\00:46:31.95 in the past..." 00:46:31.99\00:46:33.32 Again, kind of like being gracious, being grateful, 00:46:33.36\00:46:35.99 when you see what God has done, 00:46:36.02\00:46:37.36 when I think about the Lord now, 00:46:37.39\00:46:38.73 He saved me and raised me. 00:46:38.76\00:46:41.96 So she says, "Having experienced the blessings 00:46:42.00\00:46:44.73 that God has rewarded me for obeying Him in the past," 00:46:44.77\00:46:48.90 she wants to test Him with some things 00:46:48.94\00:46:52.31 that she's going through right now. 00:46:52.34\00:46:54.64 And so I encourage even those who are watching too, 00:46:54.68\00:46:57.65 you know, if you have a situation that you... 00:46:57.68\00:47:00.32 Again, all these things 00:47:00.35\00:47:01.68 that we've been telling you to do, cast all your cares, 00:47:01.72\00:47:03.42 and to trust Him, to seek Him first, 00:47:03.45\00:47:06.76 not to worry about the things. 00:47:06.79\00:47:08.12 And these, again, don't have to be for physical 00:47:08.16\00:47:12.33 or for material goods, 00:47:12.36\00:47:14.10 they can be for peace and for even for the salvation 00:47:14.13\00:47:17.80 of lost loved ones. 00:47:17.83\00:47:19.17 Amen. That's right. 00:47:19.20\00:47:20.54 Definitely. 00:47:20.57\00:47:21.90 But Malachi 10 is basically talking about verse 3, 00:47:21.94\00:47:26.01 chapter 3 verse 10, it is in Malachi. 00:47:26.04\00:47:30.51 It's talking about bringing the tithe, 00:47:30.55\00:47:33.08 you know, tithing. 00:47:33.11\00:47:34.45 And so verse 10 says, 00:47:34.48\00:47:35.92 "'Bring ye the whole tithe into the storehouse 00:47:35.95\00:47:38.55 that there may be food in my house 00:47:38.59\00:47:40.32 and prove me now herewith,' saith the Jehovah of hosts, 00:47:40.36\00:47:44.86 "'if I will not open you the windows of heaven 00:47:44.89\00:47:47.40 and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room 00:47:47.43\00:47:50.33 enough to receive it.'" 00:47:50.37\00:47:51.70 And verse 11 goes on and says, 00:47:51.73\00:47:53.20 "I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, 00:47:53.23\00:47:56.64 and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground 00:47:56.67\00:47:59.67 neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time 00:47:59.71\00:48:01.64 in the field." 00:48:01.68\00:48:03.01 So, anyway, it's just some great promises right there 00:48:03.04\00:48:05.51 in those two verses, Malachi 3:10 and 11. 00:48:05.55\00:48:10.05 That's great. 00:48:10.09\00:48:11.42 That's an interesting experiment. 00:48:11.45\00:48:13.56 I meant to doing some life hacking, you know, 00:48:13.59\00:48:16.96 where you try the Keto diet, 00:48:16.99\00:48:19.53 you tried certain things with your diet. 00:48:19.56\00:48:23.23 So it's fun to do, to experiment with life, 00:48:23.26\00:48:25.73 well, get over into your spiritual life 00:48:25.77\00:48:28.47 and test God and see what an awesome God He is, 00:48:28.50\00:48:33.01 and you carry up your part and He'll carry up His part. 00:48:33.04\00:48:36.58 You know, He's not a conditional God. 00:48:36.61\00:48:38.98 I know that there have been times that He's been... 00:48:39.01\00:48:40.75 Well, let's try every time, 00:48:40.78\00:48:42.88 He's been more faithful 00:48:42.92\00:48:44.25 than I have, but nonetheless... 00:48:44.29\00:48:47.02 And everything He does, 00:48:47.06\00:48:48.49 He is proven Himself when I have tested Him. 00:48:48.52\00:48:52.29 Amen. 00:48:52.33\00:48:53.66 I like the next verse, verse 12. 00:48:53.70\00:48:55.13 It says, "And all nations will call you blessed." 00:48:55.16\00:48:57.50 So that tells us this is why He blesses us, 00:48:57.53\00:49:00.44 not so we just sit back and say, "Oh, wow, 00:49:00.47\00:49:02.50 I've received a lot of blessings from the Lord." 00:49:02.54\00:49:04.71 It's so that other people, people who don't know Jesus 00:49:04.74\00:49:08.74 or have never called on the name of Jesus, 00:49:08.78\00:49:11.31 that they will know, 00:49:11.35\00:49:12.68 "Wow, there's something different. 00:49:12.71\00:49:14.15 Wow, these are Christians. 00:49:14.18\00:49:16.18 And I want to know..." 00:49:16.22\00:49:17.69 He receives the glory, that's right. 00:49:17.72\00:49:19.15 "I want to know more about that." 00:49:19.19\00:49:21.02 Do you have a promise, Sweetie? I was going to ask you. 00:49:21.06\00:49:22.72 Ladies first. 00:49:25.73\00:49:27.06 I have so many I don't even begin to know 00:49:27.10\00:49:29.73 where to mention. 00:49:29.76\00:49:32.73 One of my favorite is Ezekiel 36, God says, 00:49:32.77\00:49:35.97 "A new heart also I'll give you and a new spirit 00:49:36.00\00:49:38.84 will I put within you, 00:49:38.87\00:49:40.21 and I'll take away your stony heart, 00:49:40.24\00:49:42.38 and I'll give you a heart of flesh." 00:49:42.41\00:49:44.21 And so many times in situations, 00:49:44.25\00:49:46.88 I find I can have a stony heart, you know, 00:49:46.92\00:49:49.38 maybe I'm resistant to the work God wants to do in my life, 00:49:49.42\00:49:53.15 maybe resistant to a certain direction or plan, 00:49:53.19\00:49:56.39 and I go back to God and say, "You promised. 00:49:56.42\00:49:58.76 You would give me a heart of flesh. 00:49:58.79\00:50:01.16 You promised you would take out myself, 00:50:01.20\00:50:04.37 and You would pour Your spirit in me." 00:50:04.40\00:50:06.70 And I love that, and every time 00:50:06.74\00:50:08.80 that I have claimed that promise, 00:50:08.84\00:50:11.07 I know He's been faithful to that. 00:50:11.11\00:50:12.77 I just want to make an appeal to you at home, 00:50:12.81\00:50:15.28 I don't know where you are in your walk with God, 00:50:15.31\00:50:18.35 but Jesus says, "Whoever comes to Me," 00:50:18.38\00:50:20.92 John 6:37, "I will never cast aside. 00:50:20.95\00:50:25.45 I will nowise cast out." 00:50:25.49\00:50:27.52 So God wants you to come to Him just now as you are, 00:50:27.56\00:50:31.99 with all your stuff, with all your baggage, 00:50:32.03\00:50:34.30 none of that matters. 00:50:34.33\00:50:35.66 He says if we confess our sins, 00:50:35.70\00:50:37.57 He's faithful and just to forgive us 00:50:37.60\00:50:39.63 and cleanse us to give us 00:50:39.67\00:50:41.57 a new heart and enable us to walk in His steps. 00:50:41.60\00:50:45.07 Amen. Yeah, powerful. 00:50:45.11\00:50:46.88 Do you have a promise? Well, I do. 00:50:46.91\00:50:48.24 And actually, you know, 00:50:48.28\00:50:49.61 this is the neat thing of the Bible, 00:50:49.64\00:50:50.98 there are so many treasures, nuggets in God's Word, 00:50:51.01\00:50:53.55 so I actually changed it here on the spot 00:50:53.58\00:50:55.15 to what I was going to be doing when we were in Malachi, Tim. 00:50:55.18\00:50:58.12 I have a little note here, and I like this. 00:50:58.15\00:50:59.49 This is Malachi 3:6, 00:50:59.52\00:51:01.59 "For I am the Lord, I change not." 00:51:01.62\00:51:04.96 Well, that's beautiful for Bible promises. 00:51:04.99\00:51:06.63 He gives a promise, He's not going to change. 00:51:06.66\00:51:08.00 Exactly. 00:51:08.03\00:51:09.36 And so then I have a little side note 00:51:09.40\00:51:10.73 here with the pen, I was trying to read my handwriting here, 00:51:10.77\00:51:12.10 but it goes back 00:51:12.13\00:51:15.84 and says here in closing, 00:51:15.87\00:51:17.87 "Jesus Christ, the same," what, 00:51:17.91\00:51:20.58 "yesterday and today, " 00:51:20.61\00:51:24.05 and what, "and forever." 00:51:24.08\00:51:25.88 So that's God's promises. 00:51:25.91\00:51:27.25 I remember as a young person 00:51:27.28\00:51:28.62 going through the discouraging situation 00:51:28.65\00:51:30.25 in my life, I was just a young man. 00:51:30.29\00:51:32.25 And I was looking at some leadership, 00:51:32.29\00:51:33.99 and they were failing me on the human side of things. 00:51:34.02\00:51:36.12 And so I went to my dad and said, "You know what? 00:51:36.16\00:51:37.79 I think I'm done with the church." 00:51:37.83\00:51:39.49 My dad said, "You know what? 00:51:39.53\00:51:40.86 I am your father, and I love you, 00:51:40.90\00:51:42.26 and I have failed you. 00:51:42.30\00:51:43.97 So don't look to human beings, don't look to me as your dad, 00:51:44.00\00:51:46.67 don't look to the church leaders. 00:51:46.70\00:51:48.40 They're all trying to do their best, 00:51:48.44\00:51:49.87 but look to God because He does not fail. 00:51:49.90\00:51:52.54 He won't leave you." 00:51:52.57\00:51:53.91 So God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, 00:51:53.94\00:51:56.34 and He changes not. 00:51:56.38\00:51:57.71 So all these promises in the Bible, 00:51:57.75\00:51:59.81 boy, you can put everything, 00:51:59.85\00:52:01.72 your whole life on these promises. 00:52:01.75\00:52:03.75 So anyway, should we have some... 00:52:03.79\00:52:05.65 Do some prayer actually, and, yeah, go to prayer 00:52:05.69\00:52:08.32 and Jason, let's start with you, 00:52:08.36\00:52:09.96 we'll go to you, Francine and Tim, 00:52:09.99\00:52:11.49 then we'll close, okay? 00:52:11.53\00:52:14.66 Father, thank You so much for these promises 00:52:14.70\00:52:16.93 that You have given us. 00:52:16.97\00:52:18.30 Yes. 00:52:18.33\00:52:19.67 And, Father, we ask that You guide us, 00:52:19.70\00:52:23.34 that we may humble ourselves when we're in need 00:52:23.37\00:52:27.64 or when we see others, 00:52:27.68\00:52:30.18 help us to look to You first 00:52:30.21\00:52:32.48 and start with You in the morning, 00:52:32.51\00:52:35.15 that we may be connected with You, 00:52:35.18\00:52:37.22 that our relationship with You may grow stronger, 00:52:37.25\00:52:40.66 and that we will know 00:52:40.69\00:52:42.12 what to ask for at the right time 00:52:42.16\00:52:44.93 for you to bless those that we pray for, 00:52:44.96\00:52:48.46 those things that we may need. 00:52:48.50\00:52:51.80 So thank You, Father, for these promises 00:52:51.83\00:52:54.20 and for Your love and mercy 00:52:54.24\00:52:55.80 and for this Bible that You have given us... 00:52:55.84\00:52:57.64 Amen. 00:52:57.67\00:52:59.01 That we may read these promises and be comforted 00:52:59.04\00:53:02.31 and grow in You, in Jesus' name, amen. 00:53:02.34\00:53:05.51 Amen. You did not. It was powerful. 00:56:43.67\00:56:45.03 But you went into some wonderful things 00:56:45.07\00:56:46.84 that I think this needs to be like a four or five 00:56:46.87\00:56:49.30 or ten-week study on the promises of God 00:56:49.34\00:56:52.87 because truly the Word is full. 00:56:52.91\00:56:54.84 Amen.
