Amen. 06:36 Merciful God in heaven, we thank You 06:38 for the beginning of the Sabbath, 06:40 we thank You for a special, wonderful, beautiful day 06:42 that you set aside for Your children. 06:44 How desperately we need this day of rest, 06:47 and how we need this time 06:49 to come together to study Your word, 06:51 so we pray now for the power of thy Holy Spirit, 06:54 how desperately we need the spirit of the living God 06:57 to touch our hearts and our minds and our lives. 07:00 Lord, we need You, 07:02 so we pray as a Holy Spirit descends upon 07:05 each and everyone of us, 07:06 those precious, precious souls at home, 07:09 those who have taken time, and they may jot it down, 07:12 that may be on their ice box as a reminder, 07:14 I wanna join 3ABN family in family worship as our Lord, 07:19 we pray that You will bless every word that goes forth. 07:22 We pray that You will put power behind those words. 07:25 We pray our ears will be open. 07:27 We pray You will give us thoughts, 07:28 fresh thoughts from on high. 07:30 There is somebody who needs something special tonight 07:33 and so we pray that You will meet that need 07:35 as you always do. 07:36 Bless us now we pray, as you take full possession 07:39 of all of our hearts, all of our lives, 07:41 all of our mind. 07:42 We stand covered by faith by Your blood in Jesus' name. 07:46 Amen. Amen. 07:47 Amen, you know there is something 07:49 so special about this Sabbath, 07:52 and on Facebook people like to send you these little 07:55 Happy Sabbath and little pictures, 07:57 sometimes they are moving, 07:58 sometimes there are little videos 08:00 and last Sabbath I received one and I had been really busy, 08:03 you know, get working up to the time 08:05 of those precious hours and as soon as I read, 08:09 Happy Sabbath, I said, "it just felt good." 08:11 Oh. 08:13 I can just let everything else go, 08:15 it just feels good. 08:16 It's okay. 08:17 When I was a student years ago and, of course, now with work, 08:21 you know, we put all of that aside 08:23 and we can focus in on those precious hours 08:26 and remembering our Creator. 08:27 Amen. Our Lord and Savior. 08:29 Amen, good. 08:30 We have a opening scripture, it's John 8:12, John 8:12, 08:35 how about you, Sister Irma, 08:36 would you like to share that scripture with us, 08:38 it's right at the top of your page there. 08:42 John 8:12. 08:45 It says, "That arise..." 08:46 Oh, oh, wait a minute. 08:48 I'm looking at the wrong way, it's Isaiah 60:1. 08:49 Isaiah 60:1. It's Isaiah 60:1. 08:52 Pastor was turning quickly, and your mister was turning, 08:54 and Sister Mollie was turning, 08:56 and we were just gonna join with you, it's all right. 08:58 Well, I have got another verse here written down 09:00 that I want to share but go ahead, it's Isaiah 60:1. 09:03 Sorry about that family. Amen, yes. 09:05 "Arise, shine, for thy light has come, 09:09 and the glory of the Lord has risen upon thee." 09:12 Ain't that beautiful? 09:14 The glory of the Lord is risen up thee. 09:18 And, you know there is something special, 09:20 light and scripture always represents what family? 09:24 They always represents... 09:25 Spirit of God. Truth. 09:27 Truth and Spirit of Jesus. 09:28 Truth, Christ and the verse that I wanted to share 09:31 kind of brings this out, it's John 8:12, it says, 09:35 "Then spake Jesus again into them saying " 09:38 'I am the Light of the world.'" 09:41 You see the world was in darkness 09:43 for many, many years, 09:44 because Satan became the prince of this world and Jesus says, 09:48 "I am the light." 09:49 "He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness 09:53 but shall have the light of life." 09:56 That is a promise to each and every one of us, 09:58 so as we accept Him into our lives, 10:01 He says you're gonna be the light, 10:03 I'm gonna give you this light. 10:05 Through Him we have that light shining through us. 10:08 To open our lesson tonight, you know, 10:10 a lot of times we bring things, we use it as a guide, 10:13 but I'm gonna read this paragraph 10:15 or at least parts of it. 10:16 Before you do there's interesting word, 10:17 because I think it will go along 10:19 with what you're reading 10:20 and we can get input from everybody here because, 10:23 the first thing when it says "The light has come" 10:26 I know that first word has always even as young person 10:30 when I read this passage, the first thing it said to me, 10:33 "Kenny get up, get up and do something." 10:37 Arise, and when you, by faith, 10:41 rise up to the calling of the master, 10:44 the light is going to come. 10:46 He's gonna use you, if we will rise to the occasion 10:49 when He calls us to do it. 10:51 I don't know if you have found that in you own lives that, 10:54 that word is powerful and it's something you can't 10:57 just be passive about. 10:59 You have to be, when the call comes, 11:01 because he said notice, arise and then the shining comes. 11:05 You can get no reflecting, 11:06 you can't tell you, Sister Mollie. 11:08 Have you ever been around somebody 11:10 and there was just something about them 11:12 that was just effervescent? 11:14 Oh, yeah. Oh, yes. 11:15 And you knew that it wasn't something 11:17 they put on the outside, it wasn't the Merle Norman. 11:19 Okay, it did not come from the outside, 11:22 it came from the inside, it was that effervescence 11:26 of the spirit of the living God from the inside out. 11:29 Yeah, and you can tell a difference too, can't you? 11:31 That's that shine. 11:32 You know, you can tell the difference lot a times 11:33 when someone is putting on something or whatever, 11:37 but when they're really talking to you 11:38 and you know that the Holy Spirit 11:40 is consuming them, the words that come out 11:42 are graced with that Holy Spirit 11:44 and it just does something to your heart 11:46 and it does something to your mind. 11:49 I think as we go on and we just talk more about 11:52 what the light represents 11:54 and in this world that we are living in, 11:56 right now, we need to be arising, 11:58 we need to be sounding a loud cry, 12:01 we need to be giving that third angel's message. 12:03 Amen. 12:05 And that fourth angel's message with power, power right now. 12:08 So we need to arise because we are living in a time 12:11 where light is not what God wants it to be. 12:15 So let me read this. Okay. 12:17 Well, before you read, 'cause Pastor Kenny got me 12:21 kind of get started because the... 12:23 If you look at Isaiah 60:1. 12:24 "Arise shine, feel, light has come, 12:26 and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you," 12:29 then He gives you why that is necessary. 12:31 Come on. 12:32 "For behold, darkness shall cover the earth 12:34 and deep or gross darkness the people." 12:36 Yes. 12:38 So he's given you the antidote first, 12:40 then he tells you what the problem is. 12:41 Absolutely. That's why you can take this. 12:43 You need to arise and shine 12:44 because the earth is in darkness, 12:46 the earth is in deep darkness 12:48 and there are some places where, I mean, 12:50 your choices are what? 12:52 Sit and curse the darkness, or turn on the light. 12:55 So the call is turn on the light. 12:58 Come on. 12:59 Now when you turn on the light, darkness ceases to exist, 13:01 so God's people, it's time for them 13:03 to reflect the glory of God, turn on that light 13:06 and that's how you come back to darkness, 13:08 not by sort of grinding your teeth 13:10 because you're in darkness, bring the light on. 13:12 Yeah. 13:13 When you turn the light on darkness... 13:15 Have you ever had, we were in Sothern Illinois, 13:16 is good for this power outages, you know, years ago, 13:21 you know it, I said now, I'm going to fix this. 13:24 You know, we should do this more in spiritual tone 13:26 but did it more in the physical and the thing in the world. 13:29 I said, you know, I'm almost gonna fools them 13:30 because this power goes out all the time, 13:32 I'm gonna get me a generator. 13:33 I'll have a generator here 13:35 and I'll be able to keep few things plugged in 13:36 and I'll have light in the house. 13:39 No one else has, you know, and then 13:41 because I had a little basement, 13:42 had a little sump pump and everything in it, 13:43 you know, had this big new generator, 13:46 it will take care of everything, 13:47 you know, because you had the hand. 13:49 And first thing is pouring down rain, flood, 13:52 you bet like flooding, I went down there, 13:55 I cranked on that baby and I cranked on that baby 13:58 and pretty soon there is blisters coming. 14:00 Pretty soon, I cranked so many times, 14:02 I pulled the rope out of the new generator 14:05 and I sat in darkness, you know, but my point is, 14:10 you make preparation 14:11 because you are kind of afraid of this darkness 14:14 and we should be spiritually too. 14:16 And you make preparations and you have it, 14:18 but you have to be very careful 14:20 because a lot of the stuff I was trying to do it 14:21 on my own strength, you know, we need it with the Lord, 14:24 because he has promised a generator 14:26 that rope won't come out. 14:28 He has promised you a generator 14:29 that will come on in the time of emergency and shine a light. 14:34 Not every light did we need in the house, 14:37 you need maybe one for the icebox 14:38 and you had made them one upstairs 14:40 and one downstairs 14:41 and man that just was golden to have it if you get on. 14:44 But every once in a while you will find it may backfire, 14:46 so anyway if we make preparation 14:48 for the world and things in the world, 14:50 why not more preparation for heaven? 14:53 The rise and shine 14:55 and get our spiritual generator tuned up and ready to go. 14:59 Amen. 15:00 I like that, you know, we, coming from New York City, 15:02 where they never had blackouts, 15:04 only the three most famous ones in history. 15:07 We came out without a generator and we had a friend, 15:09 remember he loaned us his little generator. 15:11 Yes. 15:12 And I thought about that, you know, 15:14 when you don't have your own light, 15:15 if someone can help show you the light, 15:17 that kind of bring the light to you, 15:19 so he gave us his little generator, 15:20 one of those little 1000 watts, just couldn't take too much, 15:23 but at least it kept us out, I couldn't do the TV 15:25 and couldn't do the refrigerator 15:27 but it could do a series of lights 15:28 and that's all we needed so we won't be in dark. 15:30 And we praise the Lord for that light. 15:31 Yes. 15:33 And that's what Christ is doing for each and every one of us. 15:34 'cause we don't have any, we have no light of our own, 15:37 nothing we do, nothing we can say 15:39 of our own means anything. 15:41 It needs to be backed up with that light, 15:43 and for those at home, what is the light? 15:45 Really, we said it's the truth, but tell us what the light is. 15:48 I may never rear to that 15:49 but I do want to touch on part of that paragraph, 15:51 'cause I think it's very good. 15:53 'Cause you guys are already getting into 15:54 why we need to arise and shine, why we need this light. 15:58 So what is the light? 15:59 There may be someone tuning in for the first time 16:01 and like they are talking about light and sunshine, 16:04 what is that? 16:05 You know, so what is the light of the word? 16:07 When you're talking about the light 16:08 and everybody can put some things in here, 16:10 but, Brother C.A., I still have, 16:13 that's been 25 years ago, 16:17 I still have that same generator that failed, 16:23 that failed me then 16:25 and now I have got it set by the garage door 16:28 and I am begging a man to come and get it. 16:29 You know what? 16:30 Because it failed, because I had counted on it so much, 16:33 it didn't work out. 16:34 You think about Christian experience, 16:35 things have happened... 16:37 I never, I don't know why. 16:40 It is pretty brand new, I never wanted to have it fixed 16:44 and I have it until this day and it still sits 16:47 without a rope to this day. 16:49 I wonder how that might relate, you know, 16:50 on our Christian experience if we are, you know, 16:53 moving forward and we expect something 16:55 and then no, it suddenly falls apart 16:57 and do we just give up, and say no hope anymore. 17:00 What do we do? No, we don't. 17:02 As the light come, rise and shine, ain't that right? 17:04 Amen. 17:05 I think that moves into what Sister Chris 17:09 is trying to say that, 17:10 that the light is the life of Christ. 17:13 And when that life of Christ is in you, 17:15 you cannot help but shine. 17:17 The moon is a dark object, but we see it as light, 17:21 because it reflects the light of the sun. 17:23 Amen. 17:24 If there were no sun, 17:25 we would not know that there is a moon. 17:27 It only exists or it may not exist, 17:30 well that's what it does, 17:31 it reflects the light of the sun. 17:32 Well, as Christians, we exist to reflect 17:35 the light of Christ's love, His light in us, 17:37 let this mind be in you. 17:39 Christ living in us, created for good works. 17:41 So as we reflect the light of Christ, 17:45 we shine in the world that needs light 17:47 at this time in its history. 17:49 Amen. 17:50 Yes, it does and why does it need light? 17:52 Because there is so much darkness 17:53 in the world and... 17:55 What is darkness in the world? 17:56 We're talking about light and darkness but I, you know, 17:59 there could be someone that's 18:00 never used those terminology for that, but what is darkness? 18:04 Why do we need this truth 18:05 to come in and dispel this darkness, 18:07 what darkness are we dispelling? 18:10 Well, Colossians 1:13, 18:12 "He has delivered us from the power of darkness, 18:16 and conveyed us 18:17 into the kingdom of his dear son, 18:19 brought us out of darkness and into light." 18:21 Amen. 18:23 And it is the great controversy being played out. 18:24 It is, it is. 18:25 That's what it is, light versus darkness 18:27 and I think you read earlier, Jesus says "I am the light." 18:32 I am the light. 18:33 So He is the light and we are, again, 18:36 as Christ in us is the hope of glory. 18:39 Amen. That Christ in us. 18:41 We are that the light reflectors, 18:44 that light from the inside Christ 18:47 and so it's that light that this world need so badly 18:50 because it is in such a darkness. 18:52 And is it just me or in your opinion 18:55 are you seeing things waxing darker and darker, 18:59 meaning that there has to be something to offset that, 19:05 Pastor Kenny, 19:06 our light has got to get brighter and brighter. 19:09 Amen. And how does that happen? 19:12 It happens by, 19:14 well, the day start arising in our heart. 19:18 Yes. 19:19 And Jesus says that He is that day starter in you. 19:22 And isn't it, the darker it gets 19:26 the light shines brighter? 19:27 Interesting. 19:29 It really, doesn't it take tremendous amount 19:31 but the darker it gets that little bitty light, 19:34 that little bitty candle, that little bitty that you have 19:37 is actually sufficient light, I mean, 19:38 it really shows much brighter than what it is. 19:40 I don't want to be tried, 19:42 I know everybody has heard this, 19:44 but all the darkness in the whole world 19:46 can't put out the light of one small candle. 19:49 Amen. Amen, now, that's good. 19:50 So, we just need to let our light shine. 19:53 Amen. Go ahead, Sister Irma. 19:56 Well, I was thinking that in terms of what is darkness 20:02 and what is light 20:03 and I was remembering that Christ said 20:06 that He wishes that we will not be ignorant. 20:09 Right. 20:11 And to me ignorance is to be in the dark, 20:15 when we don't know the path to go somewhere 20:18 and there is no light there. 20:20 Yes. 20:22 It's very difficult to, it's difficult to find our way 20:26 where we want to go. 20:27 And I'm thinking about, 20:31 when I was in school also in learning, 20:34 when you went to do answer a test, 20:38 you felt really in the dark if you didn't study, 20:41 if you didn't know the subject, 20:43 and to me the knowledge of something brings light. 20:50 There you go. Yes. 20:52 And so the knowledge of Christ and what Christ wants for us 20:57 is the light that we can enjoy and live by. 21:03 And all of us can be channels of that light, 21:06 though we have to connect to the source of light. 21:09 Amen. 21:10 So if I connect to the source of light, 21:13 and we're thinking about the source of light, 21:14 may be being at church, do I just connect once a week? 21:17 How often do I need to connect to have that light? 21:21 All the time. Amen, amen. 21:23 We need to stay connected all the time. 21:26 It doesn't take any time at all for you to be unplugged 21:30 and the light begin to gradually dissipate. 21:33 Amen. And darkness begins to come. 21:36 I used to say years ago because... 21:38 Well, back when I was a teenager 21:40 and I was going to church, 21:41 I still listened to the regular, 21:44 I think it was a rock station, it wasn't as a rock, 21:46 but it was the rock station. 21:48 Well, well, well. 21:49 You know, and I didn't see anything wrong with it. 21:51 I didn't see anything wrong with go and dancing, 21:53 I didn't see anything wrong. 21:54 People were trying to, in fact they gave me literature 21:56 from other churches to try to help straighten me out, 21:59 and the first thing I started doing 22:01 was listening to gospel rock, you know, 22:03 and that kind of was a... 22:04 And then pretty soon I started hearing 22:06 some real, real testimonies 22:08 like from Black Sabbath down at, 22:10 at that time, so the missionary college 22:12 down at Southern University, 22:14 and it started really hitting home and the Lord, 22:17 you know, eventually where I just 22:19 didn't listen to it anymore. 22:21 But you give me three days without being connected 22:24 to that source of light, three days with no prayer, 22:27 three days with no Bible study 22:29 and all of a sudden I'm hearing gospel, 22:32 or I mean, not gospel, 22:33 but maybe country or a rock song. 22:34 Be careful, honey. You know what I am saying? 22:36 Your thoughts begin to change, we have to stay connected. 22:41 Connected. 22:42 And we're living in a world, we're living in a world 22:44 where light is becoming darkness 22:48 in the minds of many people. 22:49 Right is becoming wrong, and wrong is becoming right. 22:52 And like Sister Mollie said, 22:54 it doesn't matter how bright that candle is, 22:56 we need to be steadfast. 22:59 Spirit of Prophecy says, "We need to be like steel," 23:02 we're planted, so we're not blown 23:04 by every wind of doctrine. 23:06 And that's one thing I wanted to talk about, 23:08 first of all even characteristics 23:09 of what light is, 23:11 and then the other thing is, 23:14 how can we know who is really right? 23:18 There is a lot of people going around saying, 23:19 "I have the light, I have the light, 23:21 come to my church." 23:22 Mega churches, doing good work around the world, missionaries, 23:27 how can we tell what is the true light? 23:32 And if you have it, what do you do with the light? 23:35 Everybody here are probably in the church 23:37 where you went to, 23:39 you sing that little song or we did this light of mind. 23:44 I'm gonna let it shine. Shine. 23:46 Yeah, with small we begin to 23:48 and you are not gonna put it under a... 23:49 Bushel, no. 23:51 You know, and you're not gonna let Satan blow it out. 23:53 Well, that song came from the Bible, 23:56 certainly and I think it's Luke 11:33, says, 24:00 "No man, when he hath lighted a candle, 24:03 putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, 24:06 but on a candlestick, 24:08 that they which come in may see the light." 24:11 Amen. 24:13 They come in and see, that's what you do, 24:14 you raise it up, you know, you're in the dark place 24:17 and you put a little candle and you light, 24:18 you would always, at least I do, 24:20 I would raise it, I don't put it way down here somewhere, 24:22 we're going up, put it up here and down so, 24:24 this little light of mine by the grace of God, 24:27 I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. 24:31 I'm gonna go to all the neighborhood, 24:32 our job is to do what? 24:34 Let it shine. 24:35 To the world, ain't that right? 24:37 Put it to the world, so this little light of mine, 24:39 and it can be a great light 24:41 by the grace of God, 'cause it's Jesus. 24:42 You know, that is true, 24:43 if you have one candle in a room, 24:46 you wanna get that candle up as high as you possibly can. 24:49 You don't want it on the floor, 24:50 'cause it can't really help you on the floor, 24:52 but high on top of a cupboard or the van or anything, 24:55 just get it up high 24:56 and it will do its best work up high, 24:58 and I think it's the same way. 25:00 You know in the Book of Isaiah, God's people were in darkness, 25:03 and Isaiah talks a lot about light 25:06 and to sort of readdress your question. 25:08 Sister Chris, I'm in Isaiah 8:20. 25:11 Thank you. 25:12 "To the law and to the testimony, 25:14 if they do not speak according to this word, 25:16 there is no light in them." 25:18 There is just no light. 25:20 So if you want to try to determine if it's real light 25:23 or black light, fake news, you know, 25:26 you got to make sure 25:28 that they agree with the word of God. 25:30 Amen. 25:31 And that's in every aspect of our life, 25:33 and as Sister Mollie said, you know, 25:35 this is the great controversy 25:36 and I thought of the same thing, 25:38 because in heaven, you know, Satan was in heaven, 25:41 that's where this war began. 25:44 He was Lucifer, He was a light-bearer, 25:47 you know, he covered the holy love of God. 25:50 He lived the holy love of God. 25:53 Had he gone as an angel of darkness 25:56 to the third of the angels that fell, 25:59 they would have never fallen. 26:01 But he went to them in light 26:04 and assumed light casting just a little bit of doubt. 26:11 You see the enemy still uses that little bit of doubt 26:14 so we have to always go back, whether it's in diet, 26:19 whether it's in dress, no matter what it is, 26:22 whether it's in lifestyle, you know, 26:24 you guys have been talking a lot about the vigilantes, 26:27 "Spiritual Vigilantes" book, Danny's book. 26:30 I think that's a timely book, 26:31 I think it's a tool that people need, 26:34 because they need to be shook and say, 26:36 hey, this is not what you think it is. 26:39 This is abomination to the Lord, 26:41 and, of course, there is many things 26:42 that it touches on. 26:44 But we have to go back to the testing faith 26:46 and we have to everything whether it's, 26:49 we are listening to this person talking about health 26:51 and how much they have gained in this 26:53 and I, you know, 26:54 health is close to a lot of our hearts here 26:56 because we are all fighting for good health, 26:59 and so we are listening, we're looking, we're learning. 27:02 But we have to go back, what did God say? 27:05 And if they speak not according to that word, 27:07 well, then that can't be the right way. 27:09 Yeah. 27:10 The devil will bless it for a while, 27:12 but where are you going to end up in the end? 27:15 He's gonna pull a rug, I guarantee that. 27:17 He will pull the rug out from under you. 27:19 He gets you on that rug and then the enemy pulls, 27:22 you know, the rug eventually. 27:23 Yeah. 27:24 And darkness started so close to the throne. 27:26 Oh, yes, right at the throne. 27:29 You know, the end is relived well, 27:30 Lucifer, he's on the inside, you know, 27:32 he's one of the big guys. 27:34 Exactly. 27:35 If he has sinned, well, maybe he is not the way 27:37 it's supposed to be. 27:39 Well, he knows he is on, he is inside God, 27:41 just outside angel. 27:43 You know, so which says that you must try the spirits 27:47 the Bible says, test every spirit. 27:49 When something comes, my mother used to tell me 27:52 don't just open your head and let him pour stuff in, 27:54 you know, don't do that. 27:56 Test and try for yourself 27:57 and make sure that it is true light 27:59 so that you can stand on it for yourself. 28:00 Amen. 28:02 You know, as we are sharing scripture, 28:03 as we share light, 28:04 a lot of times we still see the enemy's original, 28:08 I think possibly his original argument arise, 28:11 because his was, we don't have, 28:13 we don't need the law to be righteous, 28:15 we're basically righteous on our own, 28:16 we can be righteous, 28:18 and you begin to share and you hear, 28:20 "Well I think," well that's what it says but, 28:24 one and seven will do. 28:25 You know all of these arguments 28:27 rather than there is a moral absolute, 28:31 we have a moral absolute standard. 28:34 Irreprehensible, God's word. 28:36 But Satan wants to cast such doubt to think 28:38 well, may be they're right, may be it can be, 28:41 may be I can be saved. 28:43 Why do I need to give up drinking? 28:45 You know, so and so drinks and they go to church, 28:48 they are good Christian. 28:50 You know what we read there, where you were saying about it, 28:52 everybody can throw in what, but in Isaiah 60, 28:55 it says kind of hold, we have been saying 28:56 arise and shine, 28:58 that was directed at God's people at Israel. 29:02 He wanted him to arise, shine because they were in darkness, 29:05 as you talked about 29:06 they were in backsliding condition 29:08 and as the nation, you know, 29:10 as a nation God was calling them 29:12 but there was no reformation. 29:14 He called the nation but know what, no reformation. 29:18 And so no reformation, no change, God could not bless. 29:24 He could not do what He wanted to do for Israel at all. 29:27 He couldn't bless them the way that He wanted to, 29:29 so it, some of you are thinking tonight, 29:32 really that blessing arise and shine, the glory, 29:36 His character is gonna shine forth, 29:37 it's gonna lighten the whole world, 29:39 you know, we realize that promise 29:42 is for the church today. 29:44 Amen. 29:45 Because it was not accepted by Israel, 29:48 that it was not in position to accept 29:50 that they gonna live in opposite 29:51 what God want them to do. 29:53 So I look at that and I said, wow, 29:54 that's for the New Testament Church. 29:57 I can claim that, you can claim that, 29:59 you can claim it at home and say that's rise and shine, 30:02 God's gonna do great things for us, 30:04 I think that's awful, was that, I mean, beautiful. 30:07 He calls the light to shine out of somebody with darkness. 30:10 Out of darkness. Praise God for that, yes. 30:12 Amen. 30:13 You know I mentioned health even testing our diets 30:18 with the word of God and on NBC 30:22 they have been going to blue zones, 30:24 I never really, I don't know if I paid attention 30:27 to what a blue zone was, 30:28 but that's where you have 30:30 the higher amount of millenniums, 30:31 people that reach 100 or more, 30:34 you know, it's higher than the general population, 30:38 and most places they have been covering 30:39 have been outside of the United States. 30:41 Well, today I didn't watch it but I remembered seeing 30:44 that was gonna be on site I googled it. 30:47 And Maria Shriver and different ones 30:49 they were actually in Loma Linda. 30:52 Loma Linda is a blue zone and they were raising up, 30:55 they were showing, this is God's diet. 30:58 They were showing how, 31:00 how precious this Sabbath hours are 31:03 that it helps to relive stress, that it helps to detoxify, 31:08 it was awesome if you haven't checked it, 31:09 check it out. 31:11 Google it on today show, the blue zones 31:13 out in Loma Linda and it's really neat. 31:16 It's beautiful, where they mentioned about, 31:17 seven to ten years living longer life 31:20 and a healthier lifespan and in the end it 31:22 talked about earlier, one of the founders 31:24 of the Seventh-day Adventist Church 31:25 is Ellen White, you know, 31:27 a lot of stuff was put out there 31:29 for a lot of people, in a millions 31:31 and listening and taking it in because it deals with health. 31:36 To me it's raising that standard, it's arising, 31:39 it's lifting that light a little higher 31:41 because you have all these other stones that are saying, 31:45 well, we need a Paleo diet. 31:47 We need not cook our meat, you need to eat a lot of meat 31:51 but don't cook it, you need to eat it really raw, 31:54 you know, and the Bible says the life is in the blood. 31:57 You're supposed to drain that blood, 31:58 you're not supposed to be eating that blood, 32:00 you know, so they are touting if you want to be a 100, 32:03 this is the way you got to go. 32:06 You know, and many people the bone broth diet, 32:10 I think I heard about that. 32:11 Where they're making, they are losing weight 32:14 and gaining health by cooking different soups 32:17 or something with bones, 32:19 and so there is a lot of things out there, 32:20 that we have got to go back. 32:22 And so I just thought how neat to see 32:25 that light shining today over a secular, 32:29 remember the rocks would cry out 32:30 if we don't do our work. Yes, yes. 32:32 And the rocks were crying out in such a positive way. 32:35 It's not always gonna be that way, 32:37 it's not always that way now, 32:39 but you know while we have opportunity 32:41 we need to be arising, we need to be shining 32:44 and what are some of the attributes, 32:46 what are some of the characteristics 32:48 of a Christian that has a shining light? 32:50 It's even in here. 32:51 What are some of the things that they might pray? 32:53 You know, I just wanted to say National Geographic... 32:55 That's part of it, that's part of it, 32:58 it's the same guy, same guy, he's doing it in a new book, 33:02 he's going to have all the recipes, 33:04 it's the same man, he has done it several times. 33:06 In fact he showed on there, I don't remember his name, 33:09 sorry about that, 33:11 but he was saying how one of the Adventists, 33:13 he was showing a video clip 33:15 from I guess National Geographic, 33:17 where two years ago, he was out driving around in... 33:20 I mean in California, Loma Linda and this man, 33:24 I mean, his cognitive ability was fantastic 33:27 and he is still driving at the age of 100. 33:30 It was awesome, awesome. 33:32 He is the one that said, he is actually the one 33:35 that said this is God's diet. 33:39 He is the one that said it. 33:40 So the rocks are crying out. 33:42 So our light shines when we bring our life 33:45 in alignment with God's word. 33:47 Amen. 33:48 And has something to do like the scripture I always use, 33:52 Psalms 119:130, I love that scripture, 33:56 the entrance of your word gives light, gives light, 34:01 the entrance of God's word gives light to us. 34:05 It gives understanding to the simpleness, 34:07 that's encouraging. 34:09 It didn't matter how brilliant you are 34:11 or how simple you are. That's right. 34:13 You read God's word, you study God's word, 34:16 you get yourself into God's word, 34:18 and it is going to bring you understanding, 34:21 it brings light. 34:22 Now, that tells us, that tells us that 34:25 if there are areas of darkness in us, 34:27 C.A., do you think there might be areas 34:29 of darkness in anyone of us? 34:33 There are areas of darkness. I wish there were. 34:36 There are areas of darkness in all of us. 34:39 In all of us. Nobody has arrived. 34:41 I don't care how high you have gone, 34:43 there is heights you haven't attained to. 34:45 I don't care how deep you have gone, Pastor Murray, 34:48 there are depths you have attained to yet. 34:51 The entrance of God's word gives light, it, 34:54 that means if there are areas of darkness in us, 34:58 then as we read God's word, 35:00 as we allow that light to penetrate, 35:03 then those areas of darkness will be dispelled. 35:07 That light of God's word 35:09 would dispel those areas of darkness, 35:11 and as darkness is dispelled, then we become more light. 35:16 There will be more light and more like Him. 35:18 Because it is glory of the Lord then. 35:20 In the passage, once again the glory, 35:22 what is the glory? 35:24 It has to be His character. Yes. 35:25 As we read, that's what you are saying. 35:27 As you read the word of God, and we take it in, 35:30 we're taking Him in, His character, 35:33 His character becomes our character, 35:36 we become like Him, 'cause He wants to reveal 35:38 that glory to us, you know what I mean. 35:40 Show me your glory. 35:42 And you know, such a question, 35:43 you made such a beautiful statement earlier, 35:46 such a truthful statement 35:48 as long as we are in God's word, 35:50 then that light will shine, 35:52 but if we start backing away from our source of life, 35:56 then our light starts going at. 35:58 Just a couple of days ago, I went into my office 36:02 and I noticed that the light was out 36:06 and I wiggled the light bulb, you know what to do to see 36:09 if you can get it to come back on, 36:11 and so I went down to the supply cabin 36:15 and I got another light bulb, took the old one out, 36:17 put the new one in, still nothing. 36:20 Guess what was wrong? 36:22 Switch is off. It wasn't plugged in. 36:25 Wasn't connected to the source? You got to be connected. 36:27 You got to be connected. Got to plug it in. 36:29 I thought now, that is it, 36:32 I'm gonna use that illustration sometimes 36:35 and so here is my time to use it. 36:37 If you are not plugged in, I don't care 36:39 if you change your light bulb ten times, 36:41 it's not gonna shine. That's right. 36:42 You are not gonna shine if you are not plugged in. 36:45 Amen, that's good. 36:46 We have to be very aware of being in plug in 36:52 with the Holy Spirit 36:54 because, otherwise we don't see the darkness either, 36:57 and we don't see those that are in darkness 37:00 and anything that has to do with the enemy is darkness. 37:06 You know there it's referred to the spirits of the darkness, 37:12 anything that is a sin is from the darkness. 37:17 In the times of disciples, when Christ came, 37:21 Jesus came to the disciples, they were in the darkness, 37:26 they were, there were superstitions, 37:30 there were all kinds of things. 37:33 Even nowadays superstition and spiritualism is so powerful 37:39 among the people that are in darkness, 37:42 and Satan is showing a light to these people 37:46 that is they don't recognize it because they don't know Christ. 37:50 Until Christ come into their lives, 37:53 then they will realize they are in the dark. 37:56 That's a very important point because that spiritualism 37:59 is happening within the church. 38:03 Within the church as well as without. 38:06 So we have to go back to along the testament 38:09 because it's a supernatural powers 38:11 that people are experiencing 38:13 and they think it's from heaven, 38:15 they think that, that's the sunlight 38:16 coming down from the source. 38:19 You know, it's only through the study in God's words 38:22 that we are not deluded, that we are led astray. 38:26 And that connection has to be really strong 38:28 because even as you say, within the church 38:33 there are people arising 38:36 with tremendous changes of ideas, 38:39 changing what God said that is right, 38:42 looking for a spin to suit what they want. 38:48 Yes. Sure, sure. 38:49 And what they want to believe and we are, it says in, 38:54 what Sister White said that, towards the end time 38:57 the line of demarcation is gonna be so difficult to see 39:02 unless we are plugged in, 39:04 unless we have the truth of Christ. 39:07 Just a few years ago, and it was on YouTube, 39:10 I believe there was a pastor 39:11 who actually took his Bible and threw it. 39:13 God have mercy. 39:15 Said, "We no longer need it, it's outdated." 39:19 And that's where a lot of Christians are. 39:21 They don't wanna hear sound doctrine. 39:23 No, no, that's what we are talking about. 39:25 It's outdated. 39:26 About black light, under black light 39:28 the colors are reversed, that which is light looks dark, 39:30 that which is dark looks light. 39:31 So everything is actually reversed 39:33 because it's not true light, it's black light. 39:34 Light has antiseptic qualities, which is why they tell you, 39:38 in your house, don't always have 39:40 a house in darkness with shades pulled down... 39:42 I like that. 39:43 Pull up the shades and let that light come in 39:45 because it actually destroys mold, bacteria, all kinds of... 39:47 Yes, it does, it's a pathogen killer. 39:49 It's a pathogen killer, it's good. 39:51 Don't have the house in darkness, 39:52 you know, let that sun come in 39:53 and the entrance of light brings a healing 39:58 that would not come, if you are constantly... 40:00 The Bible says, men love darkness, 40:02 because their deeds are evil. 40:04 Yes. 40:05 And because light shows evil deeds, 40:08 so we need to let the light shine. 40:09 Very quickly, I'm in Isaiah, 40:11 Isaiah has a lot to say about light. 40:13 I am in Isaiah 58. 40:15 Christ talks about the fast that He has chosen, 40:18 and what I found on the very end of this, 40:19 this is kind of interesting, it says, I'm in 58:6, 40:22 and I will just read this very quickly. 40:23 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen 40:25 to lose the bonds of wickedness to undo the heavy burdens, 40:28 to let the oppressed go free, that you break every yoke, 40:33 is it not to share your bread with the hungry, 40:36 and that you bring to your house 40:38 the poor that are cast out." 40:39 This is what the Christian life should be. 40:41 When you are naked that you cover him 40:44 and not hide yourself from your own flesh, 40:47 then, see if you do these things, 40:49 what's the upshot? 40:50 Then your light shall break forth in the morning 40:54 and your healing shall spring forth speedily. 40:57 So you do these things 40:58 so that your light shines brighter, 41:00 so that they see Christ in that light, 41:02 so they are not looking at you, 41:03 they are looking at the light that shines from you 41:07 that comes from Christ. Amen. 41:09 So this fasting is not just so that you can fast 41:12 and try to make yourself something, 41:14 so that you can accomplish these things 41:15 in the power of God 41:17 and it makes your light shine so much brighter. 41:18 Amen, amen. 41:20 So it means meeting needs of other people, 41:24 that's when you meet those needs of other people 41:26 it's denying of self and when we do that, 41:29 then He says, I'm going to bless you, 41:30 while you are trying to bless somebody else as it were, 41:33 He is blessing us, so it still has, 41:35 it always do with self-denial. 41:37 You know, God I think about darkness, 41:39 you think about darkness. 41:41 The devil hates Jesus for numerous reasons, 41:45 now I'm really on the ball but he hates 41:48 because when He creates, He brings light to things. 41:55 See in Creation, because, for instance, 41:59 God said, when he had this little old void, 42:03 you know, out there He said, let there be light, 42:07 God want it to exposed, He gave it light. 42:10 The devil is happy to have it in darkness, 42:12 he is happy to have the rest of the universe. 42:14 You know it goes on and on and on, all in darkness. 42:18 But every time... And He brought the light... 42:19 Before He did anything else. Yes, yes. 42:22 And as He reaches out 42:24 and expands as it were the universe, 42:27 the enemy can't stand it, 42:28 because he is bringing light to the beautiful creation 42:31 and the things that God Christ has created 42:34 and made for our joy and for our happiness. 42:37 So you know, you have to look at God says, 42:40 I'm gonna send light 42:41 and that light will expel darkness, 42:43 and I am thankful for that. 42:45 I am thankful for Isaiah over there 42:46 because he answered a question 42:49 I threw out about ten minutes ago, 42:51 about the characteristics. 42:53 Let me read this one sentence here, 42:55 it's found in Our High Calling, it says, 42:58 "As the light of the sun is the light and life 43:02 and blessing to all that live, so should Christians 43:06 by their good works, by their cheerfulness, 43:10 by their courage, be the light of the world." 43:13 You see the light shining in our heart, 43:18 it can't stay there, it has to reflect out. 43:23 Pastor Kenny likes that song, you know, 43:25 when the cup overflows into the saucer. 43:28 Yes, it has to come out to other people 43:32 and I was curious as to the characteristics 43:36 because I wanted to ask the question, 43:39 is this a totally natural thing 43:41 for a Christian to have those characteristics 43:43 or they somewhat learned or may be a little bit of both? 43:48 Well, Ephesians 5:8 says, "For you were once darkness," 43:53 didn't say you were once in darkness, 43:55 or we were in darkness, it says we were darkness. 43:58 In darkness. Absolutely. 43:59 But now you are light in the Lord, 44:02 so therefore walk His children of light, 44:04 so is it natural? 44:06 It's been given to us, 44:10 but it should be our nature now, 44:12 we have been transformed out of the kingdom of darkness. 44:15 Now we are in the kingdom of God's dear Son. 44:21 It didn't come naturally to us, it came supernaturally to us, 44:26 it came through that light, 44:28 it came through that Christ in us, 44:32 but we got changed 44:34 when we got born again. Amen. 44:36 When we make Jesus Christ the Lord of our life, 44:38 we change. Yeah. 44:40 I remember the change, I can remember that change, 44:43 I have never been the same since 44:46 and that's because something happened to me. 44:50 The very lofty nature of God was transplanted into me, 44:54 transformed out of the kingdom of darkness. 44:57 That kingdom of God's dear Son, 45:00 I am now a citizen of it entirely. 45:02 Oh, mercy. Amen. 45:04 Kingdom, I am a citizen, I am a child, beloved, 45:08 now we are the sons of God. 45:10 Not tomorrow, but now we're the sons of God, 45:13 so does it happen overnight? 45:16 No. Is it a growing process? 45:18 Yes. Absolutely. 45:19 Is that sanctification process, 45:20 don't you wish it would just happen? 45:22 It would, but it does. 45:24 It's a process, but it should be 45:26 the natural outcropping of Christ in us, 45:29 which is our hope of glory. 45:31 Amen. But what do we say? 45:32 What do we... Go ahead, yeah. 45:34 Oh, I'm sorry. 45:35 As we walk and as we gotten changed, 45:39 you would find that it becomes much natural, 45:43 you know, you are a more natural 45:45 in that state of happiness and joy 45:49 and connection with the Lord. 45:52 The Apostle Paul, he with all his writings, 45:57 he was constantly reminding other members, 46:01 that you are now this, 46:02 you are no longer what you used to be. 46:04 Right, right. 46:06 You are now this and you are now, 46:07 and then now you are happy people, 46:09 you are people of God, 46:11 you are people that walk in the light, 46:13 he had said that all the time, 46:15 so we need sometimes to be reminded. 46:20 And so we sin and so we say look, 46:24 see I knew I went in with it. 46:25 I knew I went in, I knew that something, 46:28 but, oh, thank God for that advocate with the father. 46:31 Amen. 46:32 Yeah, so I am, that I am what the word says I am 46:37 and then I do something so un-Christ like, 46:41 but thank God for 1 John 1:9, 46:44 and we confess our sins and what happens? 46:46 He is faithful and just. 46:47 He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin, 46:50 and then He cleanses us from unrighteousness. 46:53 If we are cleansed from unrighteousness, 46:56 you know what we are? 46:57 We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus 46:59 and we're standing there with clean hands 47:01 and a pure heart. Amen. 47:02 May be just for that long, but, hey, we repent again 47:05 in a few minutes if we get to. 47:07 And it's a beautiful combination of answers, 47:10 absolutely awesome because it is a combination, 47:13 you have a new heart, 47:15 He is creating a new heart within us. 47:17 You know, praise God when you talked about 47:19 the darkness inside of us, 47:20 I thought earlier, I thought, but you know what? 47:23 It's the wonderful surgeon of heaven 47:28 that's doing the surgery inside, 47:30 it's not you guys looking at me and criticizing me. 47:33 In fact, we are taught over and over, 47:35 we are not to criticize one another, 47:37 you know, but it's also learned 47:39 because just like I said, we are taught not to criticize. 47:42 Paul, different ones, Spirit of Prophecy, 47:45 they are always helping to refine, 47:48 and the more we spend time in there, 47:50 and the Holy Spirit is saying, 47:52 you know, you need some work in that area. 47:55 And then what do we do? 47:58 We commit that to God, don't we? 48:00 God, I was really short with Sister Irma. 48:04 Oh, my. Would you forgive me? 48:07 And if I was short and I was open with her, 48:10 then I need to go and say, Sister Irma, 48:12 would you please forgive me. 48:14 That's a new heart, 'cause you know, 48:16 several years ago I wouldn't have done that. 48:18 I'd have been happy to be short. 48:19 That is not the easiest thing to do. 48:22 It's the hardest thing to do, 48:24 because the pride comes straight in, yeah. 48:27 That's why it is a process. 48:29 Sanctification is a work of a lifetime, 48:32 but the beautiful thing is, 48:35 you know, at the moment you say 48:37 "Lord, forgive me," you're clean. 48:40 Amen. 51:53 You need to be converted. 51:55 You need to be converted because all this time 51:57 you haven't been because you don't know. 52:00 There is no change that is coming about, 52:01 and if you are converted there will be changes 52:04 and they will be continuing along in growth in spiritually. 52:07 You know, I wanted to say something, sorry, Mollie. 52:10 Yeah, go ahead. 52:11 To what my husband was talking about the dual citizenship, 52:17 and when I came here to the States 52:20 and then I learned, 52:21 you know, and I have my green card 52:24 and in three, five years 52:26 you are able to apply for your citizenship 52:31 and it took me about ten years to do that. 52:34 And for that reason that took for me to go 52:39 and be an American citizen, it meant giving up my country 52:45 and putting aside my country and I couldn't, 52:49 I said no, I am not American, I am Panamanian. 52:53 He said, so how could I just go and sign up 52:58 and have this passport that it says 53:00 that I am an American citizen, when I'm Panamanian, 53:04 and I struggled with that and at that time 53:09 I have been thinking in spiritual terms, 53:13 but it really does to me, it becomes clear that, 53:20 that's how we should do. 53:22 You know, we should feel once you are converted, 53:25 when you accept Christ, one of that, 53:28 you know that you leave everything else 53:30 and outside and now you belong to this 53:34 and so, I from thereon, 53:36 you know, I kept the laws of the land. 53:39 When I go to Panama, 53:41 I keep the laws of the land over there 53:43 and I do have some roots there, but America is now, 53:50 you know, my citizenship and I love America. 53:54 And the beautiful thing as we accept this light, 53:57 we can all be the citizens of the same country, 54:01 citizens of the new kingdom of heaven 54:05 and, you know, there may be some one out there 54:06 that has been struggling just like you said. 54:09 Struggling not knowing whether or not 54:11 they have really been saved, saying I have been in a church, 54:14 I don't understand what is all this light 54:17 that you guys are talking about? 54:19 And I encourage you pray with us as we close, 54:22 pray during, pray after this. 54:26 And ask Christ into your heart, 54:29 ask Him to come in and dedicate. 54:31 You know, one thing that we did that 54:33 really, truly made a difference in my life 54:35 and in my walk with Christ, 54:37 was I came to the point that I said, 54:39 I'm not gonna eat any physical food 54:42 until I ate of the spiritual food. 54:45 I don't get, when I was teaching school 54:48 I would tell the kids, don't even get out, 54:49 'cause I was teaching in the Christian school, 54:52 don't even get out of bed until you have prayed. 54:55 And I mean, there is time to, I may lay there an hour, 54:57 but I'm talking with the Lord and then I get up 55:01 and then I have my worship and you do that, 55:04 you're always gonna be hungry, 55:07 but if you make a commitment that you're not gonna study, 55:10 I mean, that you're not gonna eat until you study. 55:12 I guarantee you gonna open something, 55:14 because that's what it's gonna be called. 55:16 And then pretty soon the ten minutes 55:19 or the five minutes that you are rushing 55:21 through it becomes 15, 30, an hour 55:24 then you can't get enough 55:25 and you wish you didn't have to go to work 55:27 and you know, the time becomes sweeter and sweeter 55:30 as we spend it, connect it, 55:33 plugged in to that light source, 55:36 so I encourage each and everyone of you, 55:38 plug in, you will never be sorry. 55:41 It's the only hope that we have to come out of this darkness 55:45 and to be a citizen of the Kingdom. 55:47 Brother C.A, tell someone how they can plug in. 55:50 They'll put you right on the spot 55:51 and we can all join in on that just a word. 55:53 Oh, Christ says, "I am the vine, the abiding," 55:57 John 15 the first five verses 55:59 but I wanna commend this person 56:00 to 1 John 5, this first line, 56:03 I will just read the first line. 56:04 "Whoever believes that Jesus Christ, 56:07 whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. 56:13 You should not be hazy about your salvation." 56:15 You believe in Christ and all of that means 56:18 you are born of God. 56:19 Some days you feel like the strongest Christian 56:20 in the world, some days you feel like 56:22 the weakest Christian in the world, 56:23 you are a Christian on both days, 56:25 don't go by your feeling, go by the promises of God. 56:27 Beautiful, amen, good.
