We are so 00:01:07.76\00:01:10.50 glad that you have joined us today. You know we enjoy 00:01:10.53\00:01:13.34 spending this one hour with you. One of the reasons of course is 00:01:13.37\00:01:16.20 you're part of the 3ABN family and we want to tell you thank 00:01:16.24\00:01:20.54 you for your prayers and financial support for the 00:01:20.58\00:01:23.48 ministry of 3ABN. You know Daniel without them and without 00:01:23.51\00:01:26.21 of course the Holy Spirit 3ABN would not be able to reach the 00:01:26.25\00:01:29.65 entire world. So what a blessing We know you're all about 00:01:29.68\00:01:32.29 evangelism. Today's going to be a really fun program and I have 00:01:32.32\00:01:34.99 a cohost with me Daniel Perrin. You all know him. You've seen 00:01:35.02\00:01:38.29 him on of course many programs here at 3ABN but Daniel you know 00:01:38.33\00:01:42.66 you're actually my neighbor. Just across the little stream 00:01:42.70\00:01:44.60 their house is and no too far away. But it's a blessing to be 00:01:44.63\00:01:47.54 on the program with you today. 00:01:47.57\00:01:48.90 Always good to have good neighbors nearby and all across 00:01:48.94\00:01:51.71 the world too. 00:01:51.74\00:01:53.07 Yeah, Amen. Yeah you're definitely part of the 3ABN 00:01:53.11\00:01:54.64 family. But Daniel we've got an exciting program. It's about The 00:01:54.68\00:01:58.45 Great Controversy. We're going to talk about that. And of 00:01:58.48\00:02:00.08 course I know that you and your family like to do evangelism and 00:02:00.12\00:02:03.89 distribute The Great Controversy 00:02:03.92\00:02:05.25 That's right. We've got a couple of opportunities and continue 00:02:05.29\00:02:07.36 here in this local area distributing The Great 00:02:07.39\00:02:09.89 Controversy. And we know God is a part of this ministry. 00:02:09.92\00:02:12.99 Amen. Well, that's for sure. Why don't you introduce our guests 00:02:13.03\00:02:15.23 Today? 00:02:15.26\00:02:17.03 Sure. We've got right here with us in the studio Eric Rose who 00:02:17.07\00:02:20.44 is the director of Daniel Twelve Three Ministries. Glad to 00:02:20.47\00:02:24.54 have you here today. (Thank you) 00:02:24.57\00:02:26.41 And then from across the world literally in the 00:02:26.44\00:02:29.78 Philippines we have Josh Binas who I'm curious or eager to find 00:02:29.81\00:02:34.18 out your involvement here. You're The Great Controversy 00:02:34.22\00:02:37.85 Magazine project founder and Director. So looking forward to 00:02:37.89\00:02:41.72 hearing what that means. 00:02:41.76\00:02:44.06 Yeah, glad to be here. 00:02:44.09\00:02:46.93 So the Philippines so I'm not really the best with geography 00:02:46.96\00:02:51.97 but I think of Manilla, Philippines. Are you close to 00:02:52.00\00:02:54.74 Manilla in the Philippines where you live? 00:02:54.77\00:02:56.50 No not very close. It takes a flight to go there. 00:02:56.54\00:03:02.58 So what town are you in? 00:03:02.61\00:03:04.05 It's Iloilo City, the town is Haro, so it's in the heart of 00:03:04.08\00:03:12.42 the Philippines. 00:03:12.45\00:03:14.02 Amen. Well I know that we're definitely talking about...we 00:03:14.06\00:03:17.83 mentioned the evangelism today. I want to just gentlemen talk 00:03:17.86\00:03:21.60 about this before we go to some music. The GC we always kind of 00:03:21.63\00:03:25.03 mention it as the GC or The Great Controversy. Tell us about 00:03:25.07\00:03:28.60 what The Great Controversy is. We're talking about that and you 00:03:28.64\00:03:31.61 at home say great controversy. Are you talking like a battle, a 00:03:31.64\00:03:34.54 fight? You know what is that. Some people may not know what 00:03:34.58\00:03:37.45 the great controversy is and we'll launch into the book, the 00:03:37.48\00:03:39.38 magazine and all that today. 00:03:39.41\00:03:40.75 The Great Controversy is a wonderful book about history and 00:03:40.78\00:03:46.55 prophecy. It has 42 chapters. It starts off with the 00:03:46.59\00:03:50.93 destruction of Jerusalem. It goes through the Dark Ages, 00:03:50.96\00:03:53.03 and ends with the thrilling events in prophecy and 00:03:53.06\00:03:57.13 culminates in the second coming of Christ. 00:03:57.17\00:04:00.44 Yeah. That's a good summary. 00:04:00.47\00:04:01.80 Yeah. Why this book of all other books? How is this book special 00:04:01.84\00:04:05.41 to you? 00:04:05.44\00:04:06.78 Well how it's special to me because when I was 16 years old 00:04:06.81\00:04:11.01 I pulled it off my parents' book case shelf and read it and it 00:04:11.05\00:04:16.55 changed my life, brought me to tears. I saw that I was a sinner 00:04:16.58\00:04:20.82 that the Christ was coming soon. And so from that point my life 00:04:20.86\00:04:24.56 really took a 180-degree turn. 00:04:24.59\00:04:27.76 Yeah. So that's a really good question Daniel. So then what 00:04:27.80\00:04:31.03 about you Josh. Why is The Great Controversy special to you? 00:04:31.07\00:04:33.23 It's actually one of the books that really opened my mind to 00:04:33.27\00:04:39.77 the reality of life. You know The Great Controversy, it's not 00:04:39.81\00:04:44.25 just a book, it's a reality and of course, we'll talk more of 00:04:44.28\00:04:51.09 that but right now I want to say that when we say Great 00:04:51.12\00:04:55.96 Controversy we've known taking our bosoms. 00:04:55.99\00:04:58.69 There's a conflict between right 00:04:58.73\00:05:00.06 and the wrong in this world. However many are asking where 00:05:00.10\00:05:04.13 is this leading to? Will the great controversy be forever or 00:05:04.17\00:05:09.30 will it have an end? How will it end? That is what this book 00:05:09.34\00:05:15.24 actually tells us. 00:05:15.28\00:05:16.61 Mmm. Yeah people are asking a lot of questions and this book 00:05:16.64\00:05:19.98 certainly addresses those issues that people are caring about in 00:05:20.02\00:05:23.28 the world today. 00:05:23.32\00:05:24.65 Amen. You know and if you're familiar with The Great 00:05:24.69\00:05:26.59 Controversy book, I mean we all are, it's kind of thought of as 00:05:26.62\00:05:30.59 a thicker book. I mean I'm looking at these here today I 00:05:30.63\00:05:32.79 mean they're just like wow, The Great Controversy, this seems 00:05:32.83\00:05:34.96 like a little magazine so that's what I'm really excited about 00:05:35.00\00:05:37.23 today. Because one of the things we're going to be talking about 00:05:37.27\00:05:39.53 is The Great Controversy Magazine which is just an 00:05:39.57\00:05:42.97 amazing, amazing project. I know partly evangelism partly mission 00:05:43.00\00:05:46.94 work. It involves families so I know you guys have some right... 00:05:46.98\00:05:50.68 you're both married, so tell us a little bit about your family 00:05:50.71\00:05:52.05 if you have any kids or not. 00:05:52.08\00:05:53.42 Start with you, Eric. 00:05:53.45\00:05:54.78 I'm married to my wife Amanda. We have two children, my son 00:05:54.82\00:05:57.82 Kent, 10 years old, and my daughter Patience is six. 00:05:57.85\00:06:01.12 Okay, all right, yep, there's a picture of a beautiful family 00:06:01.16\00:06:03.56 there. And they're involved in ministry with you? 00:06:03.59\00:06:06.49 Yeah, they help with The Great Controversy Magazine. 00:06:06.53\00:06:07.86 All right, that's good. What about you Josh? 00:06:07.90\00:06:10.57 I'm also married to Novilisa and we don't have a, there we go, we 00:06:10.60\00:06:20.48 don't have a child yet but we have a cat. 00:06:20.51\00:06:25.55 All right. Well congratulations on your recent marriage of 00:06:25.58\00:06:28.08 course. That's awesome. Really excited. (And the cat.) And the 00:06:28.12\00:06:31.15 cat yeah. It's part of the family. Now before we get into 00:06:31.19\00:06:35.16 today's project. Let's go to some music. We all like some 00:06:35.19\00:06:37.43 music. And Gene McDonald of course is a great friend of the 00:06:37.46\00:06:39.96 ministry of 3ABN and super talented. The Lord's given him 00:06:40.00\00:06:42.86 an incredible gift. And the song that he'll be sharing today is 00:06:42.90\00:06:45.83 Love Lifted Me. 00:06:45.87\00:06:47.70 ¤ ¤ 00:06:47.74\00:06:51.91 ¤ Love lifted me, love lifted me love lifted me ¤ 00:06:51.94\00:06:59.51 ¤ I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore ¤ 00:06:59.55\00:07:06.25 ¤ Very deeply stained within Sinking to rise no more ¤ 00:07:06.29\00:07:11.93 ¤ But the Master of the sea Heard me despairing cry ¤ 00:07:11.96\00:07:20.30 ¤ From the waters lifted me now safe am I ¤ 00:07:20.34\00:07:26.88 ¤ Love lifted me, Love lifted me ¤ 00:07:26.91\00:07:33.25 ¤ When nothing else could help Love lifted me ¤ 00:07:33.28\00:07:41.52 ¤ Love lifted me, Love lifted me ¤ 00:07:41.56\00:07:47.86 ¤ When nothing else could help Love lifted me ¤ 00:07:47.90\00:07:55.80 ¤ Souls in danger look above Jesus completely saves ¤ 00:07:55.84\00:08:02.58 ¤ He will lift you by his love out of the angry waves ¤ 00:08:02.61\00:08:09.62 ¤ He's the master of the sea Billows his will obey ¤ 00:08:09.65\00:08:15.02 ¤ He your Savior wants to be be saved today ¤ 00:08:15.06\00:08:21.73 ¤ Love lifted me, Love lifted me ¤ 00:08:21.76\00:08:29.80 ¤ When nothing else could help love lifted me ¤ 00:08:29.84\00:08:37.71 ¤ Love lifted me, Love lifted me ¤ 00:08:37.75\00:08:44.15 ¤ When nothing else could help love lifted me ¤ 00:08:44.19\00:08:51.19 ¤ Love lifted me, Love lifted me Love lifted me ¤ 00:08:51.23\00:09:06.44 Hey man. Thank you so much Gene McDonald. I'll tell you what, 00:09:06.47\00:09:11.28 that's a happy song, isn't it? (It is) What great lines and 00:09:11.31\00:09:13.98 what a great message and you couldn't hear us be we were kind 00:09:14.02\00:09:17.52 of singing along on the set. Even saw Josh there singing 00:09:17.55\00:09:19.22 along in the Philippines. Again, thank you again for that 00:09:19.25\00:09:22.32 wonderful song. And I think about The Great Controversy book 00:09:22.36\00:09:25.59 It ends with what? 00:09:25.63\00:09:27.43 God is love. 00:09:27.46\00:09:28.80 Kind of fits the song doesn't it 00:09:28.83\00:09:30.33 Right. We need to look up above It's a good thing to do. 00:09:30.37\00:09:33.97 Yeah, amen. All right so if you're just now joining us we're 00:09:34.00\00:09:37.17 going to be talking about The Great Controversy and actually 00:09:37.21\00:09:38.64 a brand new project which is The Great Controversy Magazine. 00:09:38.67\00:09:41.51 We're going to be talking also about some of the projects that 00:09:41.54\00:09:44.61 Daniel Twelve-Three what your ministry is all about. But 00:09:44.65\00:09:47.85 Daniel. 00:09:47.88\00:09:49.22 So when we think about The Great Controversy Magazine which we 00:09:49.25\00:09:52.55 have a portion of it here. It didn't actually start with 00:09:52.59\00:09:53.92 Daniel Twelve-Three Ministries but it started with Josh. We'd 00:09:53.96\00:09:57.13 love to hear the story. What led to the formation of this 00:09:57.16\00:10:01.36 magazine idea and bringing it about? 00:10:01.40\00:10:04.33 Yeah, it's really a privilege to share with you the story behind 00:10:04.37\00:10:11.47 this. So let me begin with um I grew up hearing from my father, 00:10:11.51\00:10:18.31 my late father, about The Great Controversy. He has been talking 00:10:18.35\00:10:23.15 about this, you know wherever he goes. And I was just pretending 00:10:23.18\00:10:32.26 that I know what it means so I also, tell people you know read 00:10:32.29\00:10:35.26 the book, read the book. But I had not actually even read the 00:10:35.30\00:10:39.47 book. There was even a time if you're familiar with the book 00:10:39.50\00:10:42.67 there's a chapter there the title is Luther Before the Diet 00:10:42.70\00:10:48.04 and if you've read that you know that the Diet is actually called 00:10:48.08\00:10:54.22 the Diet of Worms. So I was flipping through the pages and 00:10:54.25\00:10:57.35 and I was looking for worms. When did Luther eat worms in 00:10:57.39\00:11:02.29 this chapter? I was just...I don't know what The Great 00:11:02.32\00:11:08.43 Controversy is about. My father died in early 2017 and I was 00:11:08.46\00:11:17.14 thinking to myself the things that he tried to share with me 00:11:17.17\00:11:23.51 I have not even read them. But at the same time, I don't have 00:11:23.55\00:11:29.48 the passion to read. So the Lord actually called me to ministry 00:11:29.52\00:11:34.12 I was then in medical school. The Lord called me to ministry 00:11:34.16\00:11:39.43 during an event here, a revival event. It's called PYC, 00:11:39.46\00:11:48.04 Philippine Youth for Christ and it was the first time that I was 00:11:48.07\00:11:54.34 intentional in giving my life to Jesus. And the Lord was pulling 00:11:54.38\00:12:00.78 me stronger than my desire to go on with life with basically no 00:12:00.82\00:12:05.95 direction. And I'm not saying that people should leave school 00:12:05.99\00:12:09.32 but what I'm saying is, if God is calling you then go to where 00:12:09.36\00:12:13.70 he leads and this is where I found joy and this is also where 00:12:13.73\00:12:17.80 I began to open the book and basically 2017 00:12:17.83\00:12:25.81 was also the 500th 00:12:25.84\00:12:28.71 year anniversary, the 500 anniversary of the protestant 00:12:28.74\00:12:34.02 reformation. And there's something in The Great 00:12:34.05\00:12:38.49 Controversy that today when we talk about the reformation 00:12:38.52\00:12:42.92 there's so many opinions about it. But there in The Great 00:12:42.96\00:12:46.66 Controversy we will see how Jesus actually fulfilled his 00:12:46.70\00:12:52.40 words when he said I will be with you until the end of the 00:12:52.43\00:12:56.67 world, until the end of the time that you will be preaching the 00:12:56.71\00:13:02.74 gospel to all nations and...You know the Dark Ages were a time 00:13:02.78\00:13:06.11 that the Bible was hidden from the public. The first part of 00:13:06.15\00:13:11.95 The Great Controversy deals with this and for my life it was also 00:13:11.99\00:13:16.46 the time that God opened to me His words, His promises, His joy 00:13:16.49\00:13:21.70 his presence. And from that time on I was just thinking if we 00:13:21.73\00:13:27.54 could do something because people usually don't read big 00:13:27.57\00:13:31.44 books, if we can just do something to split this book 00:13:31.47\00:13:39.35 apart and then my friend said why not magazines? My friend 00:13:39.38\00:13:48.19 Christopher. Then that was when I was like oh it will cost so 00:13:48.22\00:13:50.89 much. But that's when you know if the Lord tells you to do 00:13:50.93\00:13:56.16 something and he will not just give up on you even if you don't 00:13:56.20\00:13:59.00 understand. He will begin to reveal things to you and from 00:13:59.03\00:14:03.57 that time onward a lot of things happened until a local 00:14:03.61\00:14:10.35 conference, a church conference, actually said okay so the idea 00:14:10.38\00:14:16.85 sounds interesting. Why not we push it. And so one pastor he 00:14:16.89\00:14:22.92 he feels really passionate about this. He what you call this, he 00:14:22.96\00:14:28.96 raised the seed money and there was somebody who it was 00:14:29.00\00:14:32.87 her birthday but she gave all of her birthday budget to whatever 00:14:32.90\00:14:43.55 the project needs. And two years it took two years to actually 00:14:43.58\00:14:50.22 create something that's usable to be printed until the first 00:14:50.25\00:14:55.92 prints went out in 2020. 00:14:55.96\00:15:00.36 So yeah. These are just absolutely fantastic. I mean 00:15:00.40\00:15:02.53 when you look at them, Danny. They're absolutely amazing full 00:15:02.56\00:15:05.67 color throughout just beautiful magazines, well done. Did you 00:15:05.70\00:15:08.77 do the design work on the inside yourself. You took The Great 00:15:08.80\00:15:12.71 Controversy and did all the illustration and everything, 00:15:12.74\00:15:14.88 layout. 00:15:14.91\00:15:17.65 Oh by God's grace, I'm just an instrument to put things 00:15:17.68\00:15:20.98 together. So the pictures there are actually even gone to 00:15:21.02\00:15:27.46 public domain. I don't know how to explain it. A picture that's 00:15:27.49\00:15:32.99 like more than 100 years old, 100 years that the author died 00:15:33.03\00:15:36.67 it's labeled in the museum as public domain... 00:15:36.70\00:15:43.34 They're absolutely fantastic. So then tell us your vision for 00:15:43.37\00:15:48.48 the distribution because you know magazines it's like okay so 00:15:48.51\00:15:51.38 when you give the book it has all the chapters. So to do a 00:15:51.41\00:15:53.72 magazine you know you might have multiple, multiple magazines 00:15:53.75\00:15:57.12 right? Different chapters. So what was your original vision 00:15:57.15\00:15:59.79 for to distribute them? 00:15:59.82\00:16:01.16 Originally it was like you gave a chapter one to a person and if 00:16:01.19\00:16:12.17 he wants to have more than you give him the next chapter and 00:16:12.20\00:16:14.97 then the next one. However, as we're doing this we realized 00:16:15.00\00:16:19.94 some people want a specific chapter that would answer their 00:16:19.97\00:16:24.55 question and so we just left it all to God to do what he wants. 00:16:24.58\00:16:30.49 We just print and print and print. Some people are asking 00:16:30.52\00:16:34.59 for chapter 17, some people are asking for chapter 37, some are 00:16:34.62\00:16:39.39 asking for chapter one and so yeah, right now it's like... 00:16:39.43\00:16:46.50 So question then Eric, so I'm coming to you now. So how then 00:16:46.53\00:16:50.54 did The Great Controversy Magazine and Daniel Twelve-Three 00:16:50.57\00:16:54.34 come together here? 00:16:54.38\00:16:55.71 So Daniel Twelve-Three was started as a group of six 00:16:55.74\00:16:58.41 friends, mainly in 00:16:58.45\00:16:59.91 the U.S. with a passion and a vision for creating a team that 00:16:59.95\00:17:04.19 could manage projects around the world, soul-winning projects. 00:17:04.22\00:17:07.66 And so when we heard about The Great Controversy Magazine in 00:17:07.69\00:17:11.63 the Philippines we saw there was just intrinsic value to it and 00:17:11.66\00:17:15.66 we realized that it's not just Philippinos but Americans of 00:17:15.70\00:17:21.07 almost all classes they're not ready to crack open a 500-page 00:17:21.10\00:17:24.97 book with no pictures in it typically. And so we knew that 00:17:25.01\00:17:30.08 these would reach a class of people that could not be reached 00:17:30.11\00:17:32.65 by the full book. I love the full book. I was converted by 00:17:32.68\00:17:35.78 the book but the magazines are special. And so when we saw that 00:17:35.82\00:17:42.66 there was such a potential for using it we wanted to bring it 00:17:42.69\00:17:47.46 to the United States and publish it here. But it was expensive 00:17:47.50\00:17:53.30 like Josh said. It would cost to print large runs of 42 separate 00:17:53.34\00:17:58.67 magazines it was tremendous for each chapter and so we wanted to 00:17:58.71\00:18:06.18 bring it here but we thought well maybe we need to let a 00:18:06.21\00:18:09.38 bigger ministry handle this. Someone that really has the 00:18:09.42\00:18:12.85 funds to make it happen. And so we were thinking about that, 00:18:12.89\00:18:17.03 talking to people about it but no one just seemed to have a 00:18:17.06\00:18:20.36 real burden for it. And so we decided to hold a meeting and 00:18:20.40\00:18:26.33 see what God's will was about it So we called Josh. We had people 00:18:26.37\00:18:31.21 from the U.S. on the Zoom call, right? It was a Sunday evening 00:18:31.24\00:18:34.84 and I was going to be leading out in the meeting. And it was 00:18:34.88\00:18:39.21 the time for the meeting, the meeting had started but no one 00:18:39.25\00:18:43.18 was speaking yet and let me just say before I go on that we had 00:18:43.22\00:18:46.69 a printing quote for the first 10,000 copies of chapter one. 00:18:46.72\00:18:50.56 Of chapter one, okay. 00:18:50.59\00:18:52.23 And the amount was $5500 was the price which we didn't have and 00:18:52.26\00:18:59.57 we thought...So we were about to start the meeting and I heard a 00:18:59.60\00:19:04.07 knock at the door and it was my wife and she was holding her 00:19:04.11\00:19:07.11 phone and she said someone wants to talk to you right now. It was 00:19:07.14\00:19:10.98 a bad time because I was about to lead out in the meeting and I 00:19:11.01\00:19:14.92 forgot to mute my mike for the Zoom call. But I answered her 00:19:14.95\00:19:18.55 phone and the man on the line whom I really didn't know, he 00:19:18.59\00:19:22.82 said I've been wrestling with God all day and I've finally 00:19:22.86\00:19:24.89 given in. He said I told the Lord that if he answered the 00:19:24.93\00:19:29.96 phone I would give it to him. I didn't know what he was talking 00:19:30.00\00:19:32.40 about. But he said I'm getting into my truck right now and he 00:19:32.43\00:19:36.30 showed up at my house during the meeting with $5000 cash. 00:19:36.34\00:19:39.71 Hmm. And you needed $5500 for the first printing of chapter 00:19:39.74\00:19:44.65 one. 00:19:44.68\00:19:46.01 We had (unclear) so we were able to print the first 10,000 copies 00:19:46.05\00:19:49.12 of chapter one and they were actually still on the press in 00:19:49.15\00:19:54.62 Collegedale, Tennessee between the press and the three knife 00:19:54.66\00:19:59.79 trimmer and someone called and wanted to order 16,000 copies. 00:19:59.83\00:20:03.53 Well you didn't have enough to supply their... 00:20:03.57\00:20:06.47 We thought 10,000 was a lot. 00:20:06.50\00:20:09.80 Yeah so then God just grew this miraculously. I know you've got 00:20:09.84\00:20:13.34 a video. Do you want to go to this video now? Talking about 00:20:13.38\00:20:16.38 The Great Controversy Magazine. Set this video up for us. What 00:20:16.41\00:20:18.88 are we getting ready to see? 00:20:18.91\00:20:20.25 Yeah, why don't you tell Josh? 00:20:20.28\00:20:26.42 Yes, that video was made even before we printed anything. 00:20:26.45\00:20:32.56 The original one. But there was something there that we have 00:20:32.59\00:20:38.90 you know we did not realize that it was something that would 00:20:38.93\00:20:48.44 happen. And there's a portion that zooms out from where it was 00:20:48.48\00:20:57.22 actually made in the place and then it zooms out and then it 00:20:57.25\00:21:02.89 shows the globe which we did not even know that this magazine 00:21:02.92\00:21:08.26 project will reach the United States. And actually, let's just 00:21:08.30\00:21:11.87 look at the video and see the vision there. 00:21:11.90\00:21:16.34 Okay, very good. All right, let's go to that video roll 00:21:16.37\00:21:18.51 right now. 00:21:18.54\00:21:20.61 Clock ticking 00:21:20.64\00:21:30.52 ¤ ¤ 00:21:30.55\00:24:44.78 Amen. Thank you. It's good to see that video. I know others 00:24:44.81\00:24:46.75 enjoy watching it too because it gives a good overview of this 00:24:46.78\00:24:50.32 project. And I guess I'm struck by what both of you emphasize 00:24:50.35\00:24:53.49 is that your vision was smaller than what God is growing this to 00:24:53.52\00:24:58.26 And so what did that lead you to think Josh when you realized 00:24:58.29\00:25:02.53 what we're tapping in the Philippines has grown beyond 00:25:02.56\00:25:05.67 what you began. 00:25:05.70\00:25:09.10 It was just somewhat overwhelming I mean, I fell down 00:25:09.54\00:25:14.21 on my knees thanking God for what He's doing and what He has 00:25:14.24\00:25:20.12 done. At first when this project started I was not even very sure 00:25:20.15\00:25:25.22 that this is what the Lord is leading me to do but He's the 00:25:25.25\00:25:32.76 one who confirmed it. Like he's the one who showed that 00:25:32.79\00:25:36.20 this is what he wants sometimes even when I'm doing the layout 00:25:36.23\00:25:41.57 I will fall asleep. Then when I was like half awake, half asleep 00:25:41.60\00:25:46.41 I will somehow have a dream of what layout to do. And I'll wake 00:25:46.44\00:25:52.91 up and then do it and it's just like a journey of relying on God 00:25:52.95\00:25:58.75 And this is something that I've learned along the way. In this 00:25:58.79\00:26:04.06 Great Controversy it's in the book. It says we are not safe 00:26:04.09\00:26:09.66 a day or an hour without prayer. And this is also something that 00:26:09.70\00:26:12.47 fills us with joy. We are abiding in Jesus. The Ministry 00:26:12.50\00:26:19.74 is actually a journey with Him. And this is something that the 00:26:19.77\00:26:23.65 book actually emphasizes. This is a story of our walk with 00:26:23.68\00:26:26.68 Jesus from the past to present and the future. 00:26:26.72\00:26:31.02 (Amen) We've got these magazines here which they look great 00:26:31.05\00:26:34.92 inside and out but they're not a whole lot of use sitting in a 00:26:34.96\00:26:38.29 box somewhere. So how do these get out to people? 00:26:38.33\00:26:43.50 So here in the United States we print these as well and so if 00:26:43.53\00:26:50.61 someone wants to receive one copy each month in the mail they 00:26:50.64\00:26:53.04 can go to GCmagazine.org and subscribe to get the whole 00:26:53.07\00:26:58.11 series one month after the next. But if you're a church or an 00:26:58.15\00:27:03.22 organization and you want to order a mass amount of the 00:27:03.25\00:27:09.09 Scripture a Safeguard, this chapter we selected as best for 00:27:09.12\00:27:13.33 mass distribution because it's almost like an entering wedge 00:27:13.36\00:27:15.20 for the whole series. People are attracted to the fact that the 00:27:15.23\00:27:20.17 scriptures are the only thing that they can base their life on 00:27:20.20\00:27:22.50 And so you can distribute this chapter just like you would the 00:27:22.54\00:27:27.34 full book or you could even mail it to a zip code and then if 00:27:27.38\00:27:31.25 people like it they can look on the back and subscribe and get 00:27:31.28\00:27:34.48 the full series just like a regular magazine subscription. 00:27:34.52\00:27:38.29 You know there are people who might say I read the Bible, 00:27:38.32\00:27:41.79 that's what I read and so this chapter here you know let's 00:27:41.82\00:27:46.33 people know that this doesn't replace the Bible but it is a 00:27:46.36\00:27:48.86 companion to explaining what the Bible teaches. 00:27:48.90\00:27:52.83 It encourages people to go to the scriptures for hope. 00:27:52.87\00:27:55.94 You know so you just said something here in talking about 00:27:55.97\00:27:57.41 how to get these magazines. So you said someone could subscribe 00:27:57.44\00:28:00.28 to these. Right? So they would get one every week (One a month) 00:28:00.31\00:28:05.11 Okay, each chapter is right. One... 00:28:05.15\00:28:09.75 Starting with Chapter One and going through the series. 00:28:09.78\00:28:11.12 Okay, so then what about being able to send it to somebody 00:28:11.15\00:28:14.36 else? Do you let, I mean, can you subscribe for somebody else 00:28:14.39\00:28:18.13 like say, my neighbor or my friend or family member. 00:28:18.16\00:28:19.59 You can subscribe right on their website for one person okay, but 00:28:19.63\00:28:23.26 if you want to subscribe all your friends or all of your 00:28:23.30\00:28:26.53 Bible study contacts in your Church, you can just email us a 00:28:26.57\00:28:29.47 spreadsheet of all the names and addresses. 00:28:29.50\00:28:31.61 And people might be wondering how much is that going to cost I 00:28:31.64\00:28:34.74 mean to have this subscription mailed to my neighbors or a 00:28:34.78\00:28:36.44 family member. 00:28:36.48\00:28:37.81 Yeah, that's a good question. 00:28:37.85\00:28:39.18 Whether you just subscribe one person or order a thousand 00:28:39.21\00:28:41.38 copies of this chapter it's all on a donation basis. So for 00:28:41.42\00:28:45.92 subscriptions we suggest $5 a month or if you want to order 00:28:45.95\00:28:47.92 mass quantities of this chapter you can call us for pricing. 00:28:47.96\00:28:51.39 For a suggested donation. 00:28:51.43\00:28:53.70 You know Daniel I'm thinking of this. This is such a pretty easy 00:28:53.73\00:28:56.90 way you know because some people may not be able to go outdoor 00:28:56.93\00:28:59.43 to door or their schedule's really busy or other reasons 00:28:59.47\00:29:03.04 why they may not be able to go out but you can actually still 00:29:03.07\00:29:06.78 pass out The Great Controversy by just reaching out to Daniel 00:29:06.81\00:29:10.51 12:3. Right? Am I correct on that or you can go to 00:29:10.55\00:29:13.92 GCmagazine.org. That's one of the websites. I mean 00:29:13.95\00:29:15.28 that's pretty straight 00:29:15.32\00:29:16.65 forward. I'm thinking like there's really no excuse to... 00:29:16.69\00:29:21.22 That $5 a month you know that's just a suggestion. I really 00:29:21.26\00:29:25.06 support this ministry. They can be $10 a month or any way to 00:29:25.09\00:29:29.46 support this ministry. 00:29:29.50\00:29:30.83 And you know we don't want them to have an excuse so they can do 00:29:30.87\00:29:34.67 less. Any amount is fine. 00:29:34.70\00:29:37.91 No that's great. So do you have any stories before we talk about 00:29:37.94\00:29:40.01 Daniel 12:3 the other mission you're involved with. Are there 00:29:40.04\00:29:42.74 any stories for the magazine going out that just like wow 00:29:42.78\00:29:45.68 this is absolutely incredible what the Lord is doing. Anything 00:29:45.71\00:29:48.45 come to mind. I know I'm sure there are lots. Josh or Eric 00:29:48.48\00:29:53.69 Anything come to mind? Go ahead. 00:29:53.72\00:29:56.59 My family went door to door with this recently and it's just 00:29:56.62\00:30:00.36 great to be exposed to the public and to share God's word. 00:30:00.40\00:30:03.63 So we've done a lot of door-to door work over the years and I 00:30:03.67\00:30:09.40 mean there's lots of stories. 00:30:09.44\00:30:10.77 And what are the people's response when like you have one 00:30:10.81\00:30:12.14 of these magazines? What's the response? 00:30:12.17\00:30:13.51 I think people are a lot more ready to receive this than a 00:30:13.54\00:30:17.21 full book. Because when you share the full book people are 00:30:17.25\00:30:20.22 often just like oh I'm not a big reader. And they'll just give it 00:30:20.25\00:30:23.28 back even if you're giving it away for free. So I think this 00:30:23.32\00:30:27.26 is much easier to get your mind around and it's interesting. 00:30:27.29\00:30:30.86 And I notice for those who really don't like reading there 00:30:30.89\00:30:35.40 are some QR codes in here that lead to other materials as well 00:30:35.43\00:30:37.47 right? 00:30:37.50\00:30:38.83 Right. There are QR codes so you can listen to it being narrated 00:30:38.87\00:30:42.04 or you can watch videos about a chapter. 00:30:42.07\00:30:44.24 Okay. Because there are people who say I don't read anything. 00:30:44.27\00:30:47.91 Yeah we just want to encourage you at home because as you know 00:30:47.94\00:30:53.72 3ABN is all about evangelism. And to us, this is an incredible 00:30:53.75\00:30:57.49 opportunity for you to get involved in evangelism. You know 00:30:57.52\00:31:00.39 many of you like we just mentioned a couple of minutes 00:31:00.42\00:31:02.32 ago very busy or maybe you're not able to get out much. You're 00:31:02.36\00:31:05.29 still able to pass out The Great Controversy by subscribing for 00:31:05.33\00:31:08.33 your neighbors and I love that idea that if it's a whole group 00:31:08.36\00:31:10.90 you said even a zip code for like that is that right or could 00:31:10.93\00:31:13.67 it be any of them. Could you do a subscription for like I don't 00:31:13.70\00:31:18.37 know say your town. Could you do that for your entire town? 00:31:18.41\00:31:21.01 I think that you could do that but we really suggest the mass 00:31:21.04\00:31:24.85 distribution of this chapter so you can't order a mass amount of 00:31:24.88\00:31:29.62 chapter three but you can order a mass amount of certain 00:31:29.65\00:31:32.22 chapters. 00:31:32.25\00:31:33.59 But it's perfect because once they get that then that actually 00:31:33.62\00:31:35.26 provides the opportunity for someone to say hey I want more. 00:31:35.29\00:31:37.89 Right? And then they can then get hold of this. 00:31:37.93\00:31:40.33 Multiple voices. Oh for sure. 00:31:40.36\00:31:44.43 I just want to emphasize that this chapter here really does 00:31:44.47\00:31:48.14 say, search the scriptures. It leads people to the Bible and to 00:31:48.17\00:31:51.21 Jesus. 00:31:51.24\00:31:52.67 Yes, I would agree. Yes tell us a little bit more about Daniel 00:31:52.71\00:31:55.61 Twelve-Three because I know that The Great Controversy Magazine 00:31:55.64\00:31:59.18 project, that's one but you also do a lot more. 00:31:59.21\00:32:01.62 We came together as a group of six friends to do soul-winning. 00:32:01.65\00:32:06.76 And our group is named after the Bible verse in Daniel 12:3 which 00:32:06.79\00:32:12.99 says: And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness 00:32:13.03\00:32:15.66 of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as 00:32:15.70\00:32:18.80 the stars forever and ever. So we knew that we didn't qualify 00:32:18.83\00:32:22.54 for the first clause of that verse because none of us were 00:32:22.57\00:32:25.84 wise, but we saw the second phrase was more open-ended and 00:32:25.87\00:32:31.78 so there are many ways to turn people to righteousness. And so 00:32:31.81\00:32:36.58 as a team, we've seen novel problems in cultures and we've 00:32:36.62\00:32:41.12 tried to make solutions for cultures. So we started off by 00:32:41.16\00:32:48.36 hiring someone in Ethiopia and then another person and we've 00:32:48.40\00:32:51.30 grown. Basically for cultures that love to read we try to 00:32:51.33\00:32:55.17 produce publications. But for cultures that don't like to read 00:32:55.20\00:32:59.51 like certain cultures in Guatemala for example we try 00:32:59.54\00:33:04.98 to have audio projects. And so it's just great to see people 00:33:05.01\00:33:10.89 getting God's word even if it comes in a form other than I 00:33:10.92\00:33:14.22 might personally like it myself. 00:33:14.26\00:33:15.86 So you're saying audio projects like you said for Guatemala. 00:33:15.89\00:33:18.99 What does that mean, what does that look like? 00:33:19.03\00:33:20.93 (We...) Did you record like a podcast? 00:33:20.96\00:33:25.97 We basically have workers working in partnership with an 00:33:26.00\00:33:30.57 Adventist radio station and so they're recording summaries of 00:33:30.61\00:33:33.51 Patriarchs and Prophets and then they'll progress through the 00:33:33.54\00:33:36.64 Conflict series. So the recordings are short but they're 00:33:36.68\00:33:43.02 shared on the radio multiple times and then those recordings 00:33:43.05\00:33:45.52 are also converted into videos that are shared on social media 00:33:45.55\00:33:48.42 and all the media will end up on a website for that language but 00:33:48.46\00:33:51.99 not just one language in Guatemala. We're starting a 00:33:52.03\00:33:54.20 second language in Guatemala and we're starting other projects as 00:33:54.23\00:33:57.57 well. 00:33:57.60\00:33:58.97 So how did you pick Guatemala? How did you get connected to 00:33:59.00\00:34:01.34 ministering there? 00:34:01.37\00:34:03.00 My wife and I actually sold everything several years ago and 00:34:03.04\00:34:07.44 moved to Guatemala and lived there for two-and-a-half years. 00:34:07.48\00:34:09.84 among the Kechi-Mayan people and so we have a big heart for 00:34:09.88\00:34:15.48 that culture. In fact, we had to leave quite a lot actually and 00:34:15.52\00:34:20.79 they were like our neighbors. So we actually still have 00:34:20.82\00:34:26.49 projects in Guatemala, actually three separate projects in 00:34:26.53\00:34:29.50 Guatemala today. 00:34:29.53\00:34:30.87 Wow, praise the Lord. You mentioned about Ethiopia. Tell 00:34:30.90\00:34:34.37 us about that project that Daniel 12:3 is involved with. 00:34:34.40\00:34:36.60 Okay. Well let me tell you one before I forget it. So before we 00:34:36.64\00:34:42.01 started Daniel 12:3 I had this experience that I think was the 00:34:42.04\00:34:46.01 catalyst that God used to help us get started. It was someone 00:34:46.05\00:34:51.15 that reached out to me on Facebook from Kenya. And he was 00:34:51.19\00:34:54.02 a pastor. I thought he was an Adventist pastor and I asked him 00:34:54.06\00:34:59.09 you know why did you befriend me because a lot of times people 00:34:59.13\00:35:02.93 will befriend you for various reasons. And so he described 00:35:02.96\00:35:08.20 that he was a pastor and when I saw that he wasn't a Seventh-day 00:35:08.24\00:35:12.21 Adventist I asked him about the seventh-day Sabbath. And he said 00:35:12.24\00:35:18.08 basically, I'm very interested in the Sabbath. And I didn't 00:35:18.11\00:35:21.08 have time to study the Bible with him or minister to him but 00:35:21.12\00:35:24.99 just with a small amount of prompting he switched his 00:35:25.02\00:35:28.12 congregation over to keep the seventh-day Sabbath. And so a 00:35:28.16\00:35:33.50 couple months later one Friday evening it was like God flooded 00:35:33.53\00:35:38.40 my mind with ideas about how a team of friends could be formed 00:35:38.43\00:35:41.57 to manage projects around the world And I think God used that 00:35:41.60\00:35:46.57 experience to help me to see how easy it could be to turn people 00:35:46.61\00:35:51.85 to righteousness. 00:35:51.88\00:35:53.92 So then God led you to that experience which then opened up 00:35:53.95\00:35:57.05 your mind to say what other ways can we reach people in places 00:35:57.09\00:36:01.09 you didn't expect. Because I assume you didn't expect Kenya 00:36:01.12\00:36:04.09 at that point. 00:36:04.13\00:36:05.46 No. And that story just highlights how easy it is in 00:36:05.49\00:36:12.77 some cases to turn people to righteousness. They just needed 00:36:12.80\00:36:16.10 a couple of conversations via Facebook messenger and so 00:36:16.14\00:36:20.88 some cultures are extremely open to this. We have a lot of 00:36:20.91\00:36:25.51 workers in Kenya right now and they sometimes, well they always 00:36:25.55\00:36:30.95 actually carry a tract called The Forgotten Day with them. 00:36:30.99\00:36:33.89 And it's a beautiful Bible study It approaches the topic from 00:36:33.92\00:36:38.29 different angles and one team kept track and it said out of 50 00:36:38.33\00:36:43.97 people they met in one day giving this tract as a first 00:36:44.00\00:36:47.17 contact only one person argued with it. And so some cultures 00:36:47.20\00:36:52.07 are ripe for the harvest. 00:36:52.11\00:36:53.94 Right. You know you said we don't fit the clause of being 00:36:53.98\00:36:57.28 wise, but we have an all-wise God who says I'm already doing 00:36:57.31\00:37:00.05 the work before I even lay it upon your heart. 00:37:00.08\00:37:04.02 Mmm Amen. So then tell us about the Ethiopia. Going on Ethiopia 00:37:04.05\00:37:08.69 Okay So Ethiopia has had some of the largest Muslim-to-Adventist 00:37:08.72\00:37:13.40 baptisms and conversions and that's a whole story in itself. 00:37:13.43\00:37:17.20 But they also have a really terrible civil war going on in 00:37:17.23\00:37:23.00 Tagi region. And so when I heard that I was very motivated to try 00:37:23.04\00:37:28.78 to reach people in Ethiopia and that was right after we had 00:37:28.81\00:37:32.71 started the Daniel 12:3 team. And one evening I told God I 00:37:32.75\00:37:36.55 want to focus on Ethiopia. I didn't even tell my wife. I went 00:37:36.58\00:37:42.29 to sleep. The next day on my lunch break my phone rang...no 00:37:42.32\00:37:45.59 let me tell you this...is that I didn't know anyone in Ethiopia 00:37:45.63\00:37:48.83 But my phone rang on my lunch break and it was someone from 00:37:48.86\00:37:53.00 Ethiopia. (Oh my!) They had called through Facebook which I 00:37:53.03\00:37:58.71 never get calls through Facebook But I said I am so glad to hear 00:37:58.74\00:38:03.58 you. From that one contact, now we have lots of contacts in 00:38:03.61\00:38:07.68 Ethiopia. So we just love networking and the more people 00:38:07.72\00:38:12.02 we know in a country the better connected we are obviously and 00:38:12.05\00:38:15.46 the more oversight we have with our projects that we have going 00:38:15.49\00:38:21.40 there. 00:38:21.43\00:38:22.76 So what kind of work is going on in Ethiopia that Daniel 12:3 is 00:38:22.80\00:38:25.67 supporting. 00:38:25.70\00:38:27.04 We only have one worker currently in Ethiopia. We used 00:38:27.07\00:38:30.07 to have two and we're actually going to be moving workers from 00:38:30.11\00:38:35.04 Kenya to Ethiopia because it's so easy to find great workers in 00:38:35.08\00:38:37.78 Kenya. So they're going to be actually pioneering the work in 00:38:37.81\00:38:45.02 Ethiopia along with ministry partners and the one worker that 00:38:45.05\00:38:47.52 we have there. 00:38:47.56\00:38:49.19 So Daniel 12:3 is not just a ministry in a building here in 00:38:49.22\00:38:51.76 the United States. It's connected to people around the 00:38:51.79\00:38:55.36 world. 00:38:55.40\00:38:56.73 Right. In fact, we have no building. In fact, our assets 00:38:56.77\00:39:00.57 are human beings. And I'm the only one of the staff of 00:39:00.60\00:39:03.81 Daniel 12:3 that lives in the United States. As far as a 00:39:03.84\00:39:07.34 supported worker. 00:39:07.38\00:39:09.18 So you have I can tell a real passion for publishing work 00:39:09.21\00:39:12.28 Right? Because you're talking about workers going out in Kenya 00:39:12.31\00:39:14.82 you're talking about...is it tracts similar to these or 00:39:14.85\00:39:17.59 different booklets that being distributed the same in Ethiopia 00:39:17.62\00:39:19.99 Is that right, it's more tracts and booklets. 00:39:20.02\00:39:22.26 We do a lot in Kenya with publishing. They're not exactly 00:39:22.29\00:39:25.99 like this in that they're not full color and glossy. But we 00:39:26.03\00:39:32.53 publish or buy a couple different tracts currently in 00:39:32.57\00:39:35.40 Kenya. 00:39:35.44\00:39:36.77 Okay. Before we move on because I know the other one you're 00:39:36.81\00:39:38.87 working on in Haiti. But tell us a little bit about publishing, 00:39:38.91\00:39:42.51 Josh and you Eric, because you know a lot of times Daniel we 00:39:42.54\00:39:46.92 talk about you know technology and how things are progressing. 00:39:46.95\00:39:49.12 No one's going to read anymore. Why is the focus you know on 00:39:49.15\00:39:51.69 printing something. Well there's still something really powerful 00:39:51.72\00:39:54.22 about the printed word. So Josh comment on that aspect. Maybe 00:39:54.26\00:39:57.46 you too Eric. 00:39:57.49\00:39:59.06 All right. I have this you know when I look at books I can smell 00:39:59.09\00:40:06.94 a video but I can smell a book Know what I mean? 00:40:06.97\00:40:10.67 So when we receive 00:40:10.71\00:40:15.54 something that's tangible it's something that you know it's 00:40:15.58\00:40:21.95 different. Videos can pass you know. All videos can also pass 00:40:21.98\00:40:26.19 but a book does more than just that. Even when the preacher is 00:40:26.22\00:40:31.49 dead the book can speak. And this is something amazing that 00:40:31.53\00:40:36.56 I've realized. Media is a very powerful tool (it is) but we 00:40:36.60\00:40:45.47 should never forget the power of a book that has become...You 00:40:45.51\00:40:50.95 know the Bible is a book, right? So I believe that the printed 00:40:50.98\00:40:58.69 ministry is going to stay and along with that like exactly 00:40:58.72\00:41:05.09 what we're doing now people can see, can hear, and then after 00:41:05.13\00:41:09.66 the program they can of course pick up something for them to 00:41:09.70\00:41:13.44 read and as long as that stays in their home I believe an angel 00:41:13.47\00:41:18.24 stays also there to shine the light of heaven to whoever picks 00:41:18.27\00:41:23.45 up that book. 00:41:23.48\00:41:24.85 Yes, Amen. Yes, I agree. Where are you Eric, power of the 00:41:24.88\00:41:28.55 printed page. 00:41:28.58\00:41:30.29 Here's a quote I love. It says: If there's one work more 00:41:30.32\00:41:32.95 important than another it is that of getting our publications 00:41:32.99\00:41:35.22 before the public thus leading them the search the scriptures 00:41:35.26\00:41:38.19 So it's so easy to share something physical. It's easier 00:41:38.23\00:41:43.37 than sharing a link. Just hand it to them. And so the printed 00:41:43.40\00:41:47.47 page is powerful but like I said we try to focus on whatever is 00:41:47.50\00:41:52.34 the best way to reach a certain culture. 00:41:52.37\00:41:54.74 You know there's a story that 3ABN has some tracts and someone 00:41:54.78\00:41:58.41 actually...it was handed out and someone actually threw it in the 00:41:58.45\00:42:00.95 trash. They didn't appreciate it they threw it in the trash and 00:42:00.98\00:42:03.42 the garbage man was taking the trash and he was dumping it into 00:42:03.45\00:42:05.92 the garbage truck and the booklet fell out and didn't make 00:42:05.95\00:42:08.92 it into the garbage truck and it landed on the pavement and the 00:42:08.96\00:42:12.19 garbage man said, Boy I hate to see a book like this being 00:42:12.23\00:42:14.86 thrown out let me just...So he just put it in his pocket and 00:42:14.90\00:42:18.03 took it home and it converted him. It changed his life. He 00:42:18.07\00:42:21.60 found truth. So the printed word on the way to the garbage truck 00:42:21.64\00:42:23.91 changed somebody's life because the garbage man picked it up. 00:42:23.94\00:42:26.57 So there's power in the printed page. 00:42:26.61\00:42:27.94 That's right. And that printed page, it works when the 00:42:27.98\00:42:31.81 electricity is out and the Wi-Fi is down and when other things 00:42:31.85\00:42:35.82 fall apart get a book. (Amen) 00:42:35.85\00:42:37.19 Let's talk about Haiti because time's getting away from us so 00:42:37.22\00:42:39.15 tell us about Haiti and the projects going on there. 00:42:39.19\00:42:41.06 Okay, so we're already planning to do an audio project for Haiti 00:42:41.09\00:42:45.29 In other words, creating audio summaries of great books and 00:42:45.33\00:42:49.86 getting other audio in French and Creole because Haiti really 00:42:49.90\00:42:52.70 speaks two languages. And we really didn't understand how 00:42:52.73\00:42:58.27 desperate a situation was in Haiti so when I heard back from 00:42:58.31\00:43:01.34 an American missionary in Haiti about how bad it was we kind of 00:43:01.38\00:43:05.11 moved into high gear. And so you'll see more in a video in a 00:43:05.15\00:43:09.38 minute but we basically got a website ready to go in just it 00:43:09.42\00:43:13.46 seemed like hours and now we have content in Creole and 00:43:13.49\00:43:17.39 French on the website and I'll tell you a little bit more after 00:43:17.43\00:43:19.33 the video. 00:43:19.36\00:43:20.70 Okay, all right so that's a good setup for this video. Let's go 00:43:20.73\00:43:22.73 to that right now. 00:43:22.76\00:43:26.03 ¤ ¤ 00:43:26.07\00:43:42.75 Imagine Haitians used to be 70 percent Catholic, 30 percent 00:43:42.78\00:43:49.02 protestant and a hundred percent voodoo. Now we _. 00:43:49.06\00:43:56.10 ¤ ¤ 00:43:56.13\00:44:04.34 The situation looks hopeless. 00:44:04.37\00:44:05.74 The country appears to be at it's darkest moment. 00:44:05.77\00:44:10.11 God loves Haiti and right now could be the best time ever to 00:44:10.15\00:44:14.85 share Jesus with them. This is why the Daniel Twelve-Three 00:44:14.88\00:44:20.49 team was inspired to create The Hope for Haiti Media Project 00:44:20.52\00:44:22.92 Literacy rates are very low in Haiti and so we have put the 00:44:22.96\00:44:28.60 most hopeful Christ-filled media in French and Creole on a 00:44:28.63\00:44:33.34 website for free download. Anyone in Haiti will be able to 00:44:33.37\00:44:36.71 easily download these files to their devices for sharing... 00:44:36.74\00:44:43.98 Multiple voices...on the ground in Haiti will distribute 00:44:44.01\00:44:47.78 business cards with a Bible promise and a URL of the website 00:44:47.82\00:44:51.85 We already had an audio project on the website in Haiti but this 00:44:51.89\00:44:58.93 is how it picked up speed. We reached our team with the 00:44:58.96\00:45:02.80 missionary in Haiti on July 12th 00:45:02.83\00:45:04.77 ¤ ¤ 00:45:04.80\00:46:26.11 Voice in foreign language. 00:46:26.15\00:46:40.20 Men feel their need of divine help. Never does our merciful 00:46:40.23\00:46:45.03 God turn from a soul that in sincerity seeks him for help. 00:46:45.07\00:46:48.87 God has amazed us and pushed us forward. Join our team today 00:46:48.90\00:46:57.71 as we seek to turn many to righteousness 00:46:57.75\00:47:03.72 ¤ ¤ 00:47:03.75\00:47:10.06 Wow. As you're watching that it's very obvious that God 00:47:10.09\00:47:14.06 brought this project together really quickly. And what is it 00:47:14.10\00:47:17.20 doing there in Haiti? What fruit is it producing? 00:47:17.23\00:47:20.07 We just printed 60,000, well 50,000 business cards and 10,000 00:47:20.10\00:47:27.81 flyers and we got about half of those cards to Haiti in a 00:47:27.84\00:47:31.11 suitcase. And so we're going to have two people on the ground 00:47:31.15\00:47:33.35 distributing those to people in Haiti. In fact, it's so 00:47:33.38\00:47:37.25 dangerous in Port 00:47:37.29\00:47:38.89 Au Prince right now, which is the capital of Haiti, that even 00:47:38.92\00:47:43.12 locals can't just walk around freely on the streets without 00:47:43.16\00:47:47.10 fear of being kidnapped or killed or something and so we're 00:47:47.13\00:47:50.83 going to probably try to have them passed out at bus stations 00:47:50.87\00:47:55.57 where people are en route to the capitol. That way our workers 00:47:55.60\00:47:58.14 don't have to go in the danger zone. 00:47:58.17\00:48:01.38 You know what I'm impressed with is really just to make yourself 00:48:01.41\00:48:05.88 available for the Lord and say God, I'm a willing vessel. I 00:48:05.91\00:48:09.98 want to do something for you. I want to spread the good news, 00:48:10.02\00:48:13.46 right? Daniel, do you? Yeah wherever I can and God will use 00:48:13.49\00:48:17.46 you. You know even praying for divine appointments in your day. 00:48:17.49\00:48:21.06 God I've got some tracts here with me. I've got something I 00:48:21.10\00:48:22.53 want to share and just say God, please bring them across my 00:48:22.56\00:48:27.10 path. You may say Oh I'm shy I can't do that. Well God can use 00:48:27.14\00:48:29.10 you. Don't worry about that. God's the one that gives you the 00:48:29.14\00:48:31.37 power Don't be afraid to share the Good News of the gospel. 00:48:31.41\00:48:34.08 You got one other project. What's that all about? 00:48:34.11\00:48:37.25 The Gospel Medical Missionary Team. 00:48:37.28\00:48:40.42 Right so about 100 years ago there was a vision for creating 00:48:40.45\00:48:46.49 a new breed of evangelism where teams would enter the cities, 00:48:46.52\00:48:50.73 using health as an entering wedge. And it wouldn't be just 00:48:50.76\00:48:55.66 one worker. It would be a team of several people with different 00:48:55.70\00:48:58.63 talents. It could be an evangelist, Bible workers, 00:48:58.67\00:49:02.84 nurses, cook. And they basically did a half day of school, 00:49:02.87\00:49:09.41 classes learning about how to reach people better and then in 00:49:09.44\00:49:12.35 the afternoon they did in-home treatments and Bible studies. 00:49:12.38\00:49:16.28 And in the evening they did public lectures starting with 00:49:16.32\00:49:20.86 health and then transitioning to evangelism. And so like I said 00:49:20.89\00:49:24.63 a hundred years ago they did it in the cities in America, John 00:49:24.66\00:49:29.20 Tindell and some others and so these are some quotes and 00:49:29.23\00:49:31.77 historical documents about how it was so successful a hundred 00:49:31.80\00:49:35.30 years ago. And if you're interested you can contact us 00:49:35.34\00:49:37.77 We'll be happy to mail you one of these pamphlets. 00:49:37.81\00:49:41.41 It says in the title, God's Final Method for Reaching the 00:49:41.44\00:49:44.71 Cities. (Right) 00:49:44.75\00:49:46.08 So then someone could take that read that study and implement it 00:49:46.11\00:49:48.12 in their community. Is that the goal? Something along those 00:49:48.15\00:49:52.49 lines of the health message. 00:49:52.52\00:49:54.19 They can definitely do this. We would like to...we are very 00:49:54.22\00:49:59.46 compelled to do one of these teams ourself and we're praying 00:49:59.49\00:50:01.40 every day for it. So we could use help for this if anyone is 00:50:01.43\00:50:06.17 inspired they can contact us to receive the booklet. 00:50:06.20\00:50:09.40 Good. The publishing is great but then the health ministry 00:50:09.44\00:50:13.91 is really something that you care about as well. 00:50:13.94\00:50:17.65 Absolutely it's the right arm that opens the doors to reach 00:50:17.68\00:50:20.22 people. 00:50:20.25\00:50:21.58 Amen. You kind of meet their physical need and then they're 00:50:21.62\00:50:24.59 open to the spiritual aspect as well. (To hearing) Yeah to 00:50:24.62\00:50:27.66 hearing. That's right. So we're getting ready to go to an 00:50:27.69\00:50:30.19 address roll contact information We've shared with you a lot of 00:50:30.23\00:50:32.19 things with you today about the Daniel Twelve-Three and all the 00:50:32.23\00:50:35.40 different projects. Of course The Great Controversy Magazine 00:50:35.43\00:50:38.10 project which is just phenomenal I'm very excited about that 00:50:38.13\00:50:42.27 project, how you can subscribe for yourself but not only for 00:50:42.30\00:50:45.41 yourself but for others in your community, your family, your 00:50:45.44\00:50:47.81 friends, your Bible study contacts. It's just a great 00:50:47.84\00:50:51.11 great, to me, project. But Eric before we go to the address roll 00:50:51.15\00:50:54.05 we can get the contact information, what are some of 00:50:54.08\00:50:56.05 your needs right now for Daniel Twelve-Three. Would they be like 00:50:56.08\00:50:59.79 financial support, what would be some of the needs for you? 00:50:59.82\00:51:02.02 To start a team such as John Tindell did. It's not an 00:51:02.06\00:51:07.06 inexpensive project but we feel that it would be worth every 00:51:07.10\00:51:09.20 amount that it could cost. And so if anyone is compelled to 00:51:09.23\00:51:15.57 help with that kind of work, they can contact us. They can 00:51:15.60\00:51:19.51 also help support one of our missionary workers around the 00:51:19.54\00:51:22.51 world... 00:51:22.54\00:51:24.45 So you probably want to see through your tax-deductible 00:51:24.48\00:51:27.38 someone donates they get a tax deductible receipt or if they 00:51:27.42\00:51:29.28 want to just donate and not get anything in return. 00:51:29.32\00:51:31.95 Right. We have a 501C3 ministry partner in California that they 00:51:31.99\00:51:36.59 can send through. 00:51:36.62\00:51:38.39 Okay, perfect. Okay well there are many different ways that you 00:51:38.43\00:51:40.80 can of course support Daniel Twelve-Three.
