Ministry, 00:09:34.34\00:09:36.60 which is another similar organization 00:09:36.64\00:09:38.14 in western Tennessee. 00:09:38.17\00:09:40.08 ~ We know Thomas. - Yes, brother Jackson. 00:09:40.11\00:09:42.68 We got trained as gospel medical missionaries. 00:09:42.71\00:09:45.01 He always emphasize that: not just medical missionaries, 00:09:45.05\00:09:47.28 but gospel medical missionaries. 00:09:47.32\00:09:49.28 So we trained as gospel medical missionaries, 00:09:49.95\00:09:51.82 and we started traveling the world sharing the 00:09:51.85\00:09:55.09 three angels' messages, sharing about the medical 00:09:55.12\00:09:56.99 missionary work, sharing about, you know, effective 00:09:57.03\00:09:59.83 soul winning by combining Christ's method of evangelism. 00:09:59.86\00:10:02.76 And then my wife developed a passion for cooking. 00:10:03.16\00:10:05.70 She wrote a cookbook. 00:10:05.73\00:10:07.07 Last time she was here she actually 00:10:07.10\00:10:08.44 did a few cooking classes. 00:10:08.47\00:10:09.80 So I'm going to let her start with that. 00:10:09.84\00:10:11.17 Since then, after M.E.E.T. Ministry, I was at Weimar 00:10:11.37\00:10:14.71 serving as the evangelism director for almost five years. 00:10:14.91\00:10:18.08 And in that time, we also were doing medical missionary work. 00:10:18.45\00:10:22.45 We started a program called TCI. 00:10:22.48\00:10:24.15 It was an amazing work with Pastor Don and Dr. Nedley. 00:10:24.65\00:10:26.96 They owned that initiative. 00:10:26.99\00:10:28.32 And it's still going successfully today. 00:10:28.59\00:10:30.33 TCI is pretty much going out and using Christ's method of 00:10:30.76\00:10:33.90 reaching people in the communities. 00:10:33.93\00:10:35.26 So that's something that we are very, very 00:10:36.00\00:10:37.63 passionate about; we're continuing it. 00:10:37.67\00:10:39.03 And then through that now, we'll share the story of how God 00:10:39.07\00:10:42.27 miraculously brought us to Red River Outpost. 00:10:42.57\00:10:45.11 But I'll let my wife share at little bit about 00:10:45.14\00:10:46.98 what she's been up to, and how her passion continued 00:10:47.08\00:10:50.15 from last time she was here, and to what she is doing now. 00:10:50.18\00:10:53.48 Yes, so the last time I was here, as mentioned, 00:10:53.52\00:10:57.79 I did some cooking classes on the cooking program. 00:10:57.82\00:11:01.76 We had a wonderful time sharing that. 00:11:01.79\00:11:03.93 I actually authored a cookbook called, The Better Way. 00:11:03.96\00:11:06.36 And the tagline is, Recipes that will glorify God 00:11:06.63\00:11:10.20 and also inspire our taste buds. 00:11:10.40\00:11:13.47 And so we're truly passionate about health evangelism 00:11:13.50\00:11:17.61 and really providing solutions for people 00:11:17.64\00:11:19.41 to make that transition over to more of a healthier lifestyle. 00:11:19.44\00:11:22.81 And so, the cookbook was a really good segue 00:11:22.84\00:11:26.18 for us to do different programs in the community, 00:11:26.21\00:11:28.78 sharing cooking classes and nutrition seminars. 00:11:29.25\00:11:31.75 That cookbook is actually be available on 00:11:31.85\00:11:33.96 the Red River Outpost website. 00:11:33.99\00:11:36.02 But I saw that by sharing these practical tips with individuals, 00:11:37.23\00:11:42.40 lives truly have been changed. 00:11:42.43\00:11:44.30 I mean, we have countless testimonies of people that 00:11:44.33\00:11:47.64 took hold of the health message and really started embracing 00:11:47.67\00:11:51.41 a plant-based diet. 00:11:51.51\00:11:53.34 And they saw a change not only in their own health... 00:11:53.54\00:11:56.01 I mean, we had people that would be free from different lifestyle 00:11:56.04\00:12:00.75 conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer. 00:12:00.78\00:12:04.19 It's just so powerful, what the Lord, 00:12:04.39\00:12:08.09 how He designed our bodies to heal. 00:12:08.12\00:12:10.13 I also went on to get certified 00:12:10.99\00:12:12.69 in plant-based nutrition as well. 00:12:12.73\00:12:14.76 Again, just fully immersing ourselves just to be 00:12:14.96\00:12:17.40 used by God in the most effective way. 00:12:17.83\00:12:20.07 And then the latest thing that I have been involved with 00:12:20.64\00:12:23.67 is starting my own food manufacturing company 00:12:23.87\00:12:26.81 called, New Breed Meats. 00:12:27.24\00:12:28.74 We have some products, some samples here. 00:12:29.14\00:12:33.98 We have a line of plant-based meat products. 00:12:34.02\00:12:36.52 You know, one of the things that we found is that 00:12:36.55\00:12:39.49 the number one issue that people have, when we're talking about 00:12:39.52\00:12:41.99 transitioning their diet, "What am I going to do for protein?" 00:12:42.02\00:12:44.89 "What am I going to do about meat?" 00:12:44.99\00:12:46.49 And so, we really wanted to hit that problem head on. 00:12:46.53\00:12:49.96 We wanted to show people that there is a way for you to 00:12:50.00\00:12:54.17 provide the nutritional needs that the body requires, 00:12:54.57\00:12:57.97 but at the same time do it in a much healthier way. 00:12:58.01\00:13:01.01 Plus also be tasty. 00:13:01.04\00:13:02.38 We believe that health and taste should co-exist. 00:13:02.78\00:13:06.28 And so, we provide this wonderful line of products. 00:13:06.48\00:13:09.72 We have burgers, we have grounds, 00:13:09.75\00:13:11.62 we have the sausage patties. 00:13:11.65\00:13:13.42 And then this is our new line of plant-based chicken 00:13:13.46\00:13:16.83 with really exciting innovative flavors 00:13:16.86\00:13:19.56 more reminiscent of our Caribbean backgrounds 00:13:20.06\00:13:22.40 such as jerk, curry, barbecue, and so on. 00:13:22.43\00:13:26.97 But then we also have lightly seasoned for you to also 00:13:27.00\00:13:29.97 prepare as you desire. 00:13:30.01\00:13:32.84 And these are at Eat New Breed on our website. 00:13:33.78\00:13:37.35 But we're just really happy to be able to be used by God 00:13:37.38\00:13:40.25 in this way, to really create this platform by which 00:13:40.28\00:13:42.98 individuals can learn how they can 00:13:43.02\00:13:45.29 take control of their health. 00:13:45.32\00:13:46.65 ~ Yeah, and I was looking at the back of the label 00:13:46.69\00:13:48.79 because, of course, I'm a dietitian, 00:13:48.82\00:13:50.16 so that's the first thing I look at. 00:13:50.19\00:13:51.53 Three ingredients, guys. three ingredients. 00:13:51.56\00:13:54.20 ~ I was so excited about this, yeah. 00:13:54.23\00:13:57.30 ~ Thank you, we're super excited about this line as well. 00:13:57.33\00:14:00.30 Now Romone tasted the jerk recently, 00:14:00.64\00:14:02.90 because this is out of his line. 00:14:02.94\00:14:04.27 ~ Romone, what was it like? - Romone, tell us about it. 00:14:06.11\00:14:07.94 I told them there is no doubt, no question, no drawback, 00:14:09.44\00:14:15.28 hesitancy, nothing left in my mind. 00:14:15.32\00:14:17.75 ~ You're now sold. - Yeah, I'm sold. 00:14:18.72\00:14:20.56 ~ This is it right here. 00:14:20.59\00:14:21.92 So there's a reason. 00:14:22.62\00:14:24.69 It was birthed out of a desire for... 00:14:24.73\00:14:27.40 Yes, so New Breed Meats, again, it really allows us to 00:14:27.73\00:14:31.23 create a platform by which to reach the world. 00:14:31.27\00:14:33.67 What we have found as Adventists is that many of us 00:14:33.70\00:14:38.61 have known about the health message, and so on, 00:14:38.64\00:14:41.04 but then we also see that some individuals that may not be 00:14:41.08\00:14:45.41 sharing our faith have also created products 00:14:45.45\00:14:48.92 that are in the market that are leading now in the market. 00:14:48.95\00:14:51.65 And it was really sad for us because I felt like 00:14:51.69\00:14:54.66 we should have a more commanding position in the marketplace, 00:14:54.69\00:15:00.46 especially given our history in health food production. 00:15:00.76\00:15:04.67 Interestingly enough, I'll share a really quick story, 00:15:05.20\00:15:07.57 my husband I were in California and we were visiting with 00:15:07.77\00:15:10.11 a friend of ours who also is in the plant-based space. 00:15:10.67\00:15:14.28 He's not of our faith, or anything. 00:15:14.31\00:15:16.28 But we had dinner with him, he invited us. 00:15:16.54\00:15:19.25 And he brought something out of his office, he said, 00:15:19.51\00:15:22.38 "Oh, you'll never believe what I have in my office." 00:15:22.42\00:15:24.09 And we were wonderful, oh what do you have in your office? 00:15:24.12\00:15:26.09 So he brings this plaque out, you know, a plaque, 00:15:26.12\00:15:29.72 and it had a patent. 00:15:29.76\00:15:32.66 He said, "I have the first patent that was ever created 00:15:32.69\00:15:36.67 for a plant-based meat." 00:15:36.70\00:15:38.03 And then he went on to say, "Did you ever hear of someone 00:15:38.07\00:15:40.60 named John Harvey Kellogg?" 00:15:40.64\00:15:42.20 So we looked at each other like, what? 00:15:42.64\00:15:46.94 So here it is, the world, and I said, "Well, this is amazing." 00:15:46.98\00:15:49.71 But it just shows we really were the pioneers in this industry 00:15:49.91\00:15:56.45 and in this space. 00:15:56.48\00:15:57.82 ~ To be the head. - That's right. 00:15:57.85\00:15:59.19 You know, God really calls us to be the head. 00:15:59.22\00:16:00.56 So this is largely a result to really be at that forefront 00:16:00.59\00:16:05.13 of the health food industry with the message that we have. 00:16:05.36\00:16:09.20 And I believe it's powerful. 00:16:09.80\00:16:11.13 What's amazing about that couple that we met with 00:16:11.17\00:16:13.13 as well, their diet was so simple. 00:16:13.17\00:16:16.50 And they were saying, you know, "We eat a very very simple 00:16:16.97\00:16:19.57 plant-based whole foods diet." 00:16:19.61\00:16:21.31 And they say, "No alcohol, 00:16:21.34\00:16:23.14 we don't ingest any caffeine whatsoever." 00:16:23.18\00:16:25.35 And then he brought this plaque out from Dr. Kellogg. 00:16:25.65\00:16:28.18 We're sitting there like, wow. 00:16:28.22\00:16:29.55 ~ What's the deal with the plaque? 00:16:29.58\00:16:30.92 I'm not understanding that. So he had the patent? 00:16:30.95\00:16:32.79 So he had it printed out and framed. 00:16:32.82\00:16:35.69 Oh I see, I got you. 00:16:35.72\00:16:37.06 He was just saying, oh he appreciated... 00:16:37.09\00:16:38.43 - "This is the first one ever!" - Yeah, this is the first one. 00:16:38.46\00:16:40.80 ~ He looked to it as something that was cool. 00:16:40.83\00:16:42.60 ~ Exactly, exactly. - Gotcha, yeah. 00:16:42.63\00:16:44.13 ~ It just kind of shows you kind of where we 00:16:44.17\00:16:46.43 used to be as a people. 00:16:46.47\00:16:48.00 And so what we're looking to do is kind of re-engage 00:16:48.30\00:16:54.71 our position where God would have us to be. 00:16:54.74\00:16:58.41 ~ Going back to the cookbook and the cooking classes, 00:16:58.45\00:17:00.85 and we're going to talk more about it in the program, 00:17:00.88\00:17:02.78 but I just remember one incident in Georgia 00:17:02.82\00:17:05.95 and few years back. 00:17:05.99\00:17:07.32 We went and did a health seminar, 00:17:07.86\00:17:09.19 my wife did cooking classes with the cookbook. 00:17:09.22\00:17:11.89 Oh by the way, the cookbook is available on the 00:17:11.93\00:17:13.90 Red River Outpost website. 00:17:13.93\00:17:15.26 We still do have those available. 00:17:15.30\00:17:16.63 But she did a cooking class. 00:17:17.87\00:17:19.53 And a year later we went back to the same church, 00:17:19.57\00:17:22.47 they invited us to come back. 00:17:22.50\00:17:23.84 And I saw a guy show up, and he said, "Do you remember me?" 00:17:23.97\00:17:27.48 I'm like, "Actually, I don't." 00:17:27.81\00:17:30.75 And then he showed me a picture of his driver's license, 00:17:31.91\00:17:34.18 and he lost 150 pounds in one year. 00:17:34.52\00:17:37.19 I could not even recognize him. 00:17:37.22\00:17:38.75 And he said, "After the meetings of the seminars that were done 00:17:39.19\00:17:41.39 last year and the cooking class that your wife did, you know, 00:17:41.42\00:17:43.46 I went home and took everything to heart. 00:17:43.49\00:17:45.06 I'm completely off all my medications now. 00:17:45.09\00:17:47.86 And I've lost 150 pounds." 00:17:48.06\00:17:49.63 And we can share countless stories of how 00:17:49.66\00:17:51.63 through these cooking classes that we've been blessed to do, 00:17:51.67\00:17:54.40 you know, all around the world, how lives have 00:17:54.44\00:17:56.24 been changed and impacted. 00:17:56.27\00:17:57.61 So it's been a rich blessing. 00:17:57.64\00:17:58.97 Yeah, and one other thing I'd like to mention, 00:17:59.34\00:18:01.68 even as it relates to this business ministry, 00:18:01.71\00:18:05.28 is it actually really does open doors to reach individuals 00:18:05.61\00:18:09.62 that you otherwise would never have been able to meet. 00:18:09.65\00:18:12.25 I have since been able to do different programs 00:18:12.65\00:18:15.39 on different networks such as Fox, NBC, and so on. 00:18:15.42\00:18:19.59 So again, it really kind of opens that door 00:18:19.63\00:18:21.90 for us to share our story. 00:18:21.93\00:18:23.26 To tell, you know, why we're doing what we're doing 00:18:23.30\00:18:25.57 is really to affect lives and really to see 00:18:25.60\00:18:27.74 whole communities changed. 00:18:27.77\00:18:29.17 And we have been so blessed to be able to do that. 00:18:29.20\00:18:31.84 By the way, my wife just miraculously... 00:18:32.64\00:18:34.58 Yesterday she could not speak, so she just miraculously 00:18:34.61\00:18:36.98 got her voice back today. 00:18:37.01\00:18:38.35 ~ You were saying that earlier. - We were praying. 00:18:38.55\00:18:40.05 You might hear it a little bit, but I'm just praising God 00:18:40.68\00:18:42.85 that she's able to speak. 00:18:42.88\00:18:44.35 The last thing I'll say on this before we transition is, 00:18:45.05\00:18:47.42 I remember we were in this small little kitchen in our 00:18:47.46\00:18:50.46 Northern California apartment, and my wife kind of shared 00:18:50.79\00:18:53.43 with me the idea of New Breed. 00:18:53.46\00:18:54.96 You know, I kind of brushed it off. 00:18:55.00\00:18:56.46 And you know, she kept sharing her passion about it, 00:18:56.77\00:18:58.67 and kept sharing with me the reasons why. 00:18:58.70\00:19:00.14 But in my mind I'm saying, this will distract from ministry. 00:19:00.17\00:19:02.97 We're focused on medical missionary work, 00:19:03.00\00:19:04.47 we're focused on reaching people. 00:19:04.51\00:19:06.98 You know, I didn't want to kill her passion at the time, but 00:19:07.24\00:19:09.14 at the same time, I couldn't give my approval. 00:19:09.18\00:19:11.15 And then one day I just sat down and said, "Alright Hon, 00:19:11.51\00:19:13.11 just share with me what's the vision? 00:19:13.15\00:19:14.65 How do you see this tying into ministry?" 00:19:14.68\00:19:16.58 Because, you know, by this time we've dedicated our lives 00:19:16.62\00:19:18.72 to full-time ministry. 00:19:18.75\00:19:20.09 And even though I know business is not necessarily a 00:19:20.29\00:19:22.39 conflict, you know, I know where my priorities are. 00:19:22.42\00:19:25.56 And she kind of shared with me what audience that 00:19:26.06\00:19:29.86 we could reach, number one. 00:19:29.90\00:19:31.23 And number two, as a self-supporting ministry, 00:19:31.27\00:19:33.64 we've dedicated our life to self-supporting ministry, 00:19:33.67\00:19:36.84 this could be a means if it finds success 00:19:36.87\00:19:38.97 to support ministries, and so on and so forth. 00:19:39.24\00:19:41.21 And then I said, "Alright, I'm on board." 00:19:41.24\00:19:43.18 And then I remember all these ingredients coming in, 00:19:43.71\00:19:46.08 and she's in the kitchen just playing around with thing. 00:19:46.11\00:19:48.42 In my mind I'm like, I don't know where this is going. 00:19:48.45\00:19:51.09 And then I remember the first time I tasted the burger, 00:19:52.29\00:19:54.62 I was like, whoa! 00:19:54.66\00:19:56.69 ~ This world needs this. - We are on to something. 00:19:56.99\00:19:58.79 ~ We are on to something. 00:19:59.86\00:20:01.20 - You can't keep that to yourself. 00:20:01.23\00:20:02.56 So I just wanted to share a little bit of history. 00:20:04.13\00:20:05.63 And now by God's grace, I see where it's been. 00:20:05.67\00:20:07.64 You know, she's been on like a version of... 00:20:07.67\00:20:10.61 Another program similar to Shark Tank. 00:20:11.31\00:20:13.27 Won the grand prize, as she mentioned 00:20:13.61\00:20:15.14 she's been on Fox Atlanta multiple times. 00:20:15.18\00:20:18.25 She's going to do a cooking class on Fox Atlanta. 00:20:18.28\00:20:20.42 We just were a major at the world's largest trade show. 00:20:20.82\00:20:23.18 We have so much traction coming out somewhere. 00:20:23.22\00:20:24.99 Our next goal is to get into more retail. 00:20:25.22\00:20:27.12 We're not there yet, but just to see where it is now 00:20:27.42\00:20:29.76 from where it was, it's just amazing to see 00:20:29.79\00:20:32.59 how God has brought us to this point. 00:20:32.63\00:20:34.36 ~ And where do you do all this? 00:20:34.63\00:20:35.96 Is it at Red River Outpost, the place? 00:20:36.00\00:20:39.27 We actually have a manufacturing partner that 00:20:39.30\00:20:41.80 does all of our manufacturing side. 00:20:41.84\00:20:43.30 However, we pretty much handle all 00:20:43.34\00:20:46.07 other aspects of the business, 00:20:46.11\00:20:47.81 having to do with the business. 00:20:49.44\00:20:50.78 And he mentioned the grand prize winner, we did come out on top, 00:20:50.81\00:20:52.88 which was completely the Lord that allowed us to do that. 00:20:52.91\00:20:56.99 We were up against several other companies 00:20:57.02\00:20:59.22 and also were doing wonderful things. 00:20:59.25\00:21:01.22 It's actually sponsored by target. 00:21:01.56\00:21:02.99 So it was just an amazing experience. 00:21:03.02\00:21:04.59 We actually won $220,000 to push our business forward. 00:21:04.69\00:21:08.73 In all non-dilutive cash. 00:21:09.63\00:21:11.97 So that was a blessing. 00:21:12.00\00:21:13.47 ~ Alright, let's get back to Red River Outpost. 00:21:14.47\00:21:16.07 Yes, I was just about to say that. 00:21:16.10\00:21:17.64 Tell us about that. 00:21:18.34\00:21:19.67 Just to transition now, so we were in California. 00:21:19.71\00:21:23.75 We had this passion, as we shared, 00:21:25.01\00:21:26.55 to get this kind of ministry going. 00:21:26.58\00:21:28.35 And we found a place in Virginia at the time. 00:21:28.78\00:21:31.32 My wife and I were excited about it. 00:21:31.35\00:21:32.72 We had somebody pledge a large sum of money towards it. 00:21:32.75\00:21:34.99 And we were very, very excited 00:21:35.02\00:21:36.59 and started moving forward by faith. 00:21:37.19\00:21:38.89 And then it seemed like a disappointment, 00:21:38.93\00:21:42.03 but now that you hear the full story, 00:21:42.06\00:21:43.93 it was actually God's appointment. 00:21:43.97\00:21:45.30 You know, things didn't happen according to plan. 00:21:45.33\00:21:48.20 Long story short, it fell through. 00:21:48.74\00:21:50.41 And then I met Romone. 00:21:50.61\00:21:51.94 He was a student/faculty at M.E.E.T. Ministry. 00:21:51.97\00:21:55.74 Another young lady there, Danella, I've known for years, 00:21:55.91\00:21:57.88 we shared about this passion for this work for years. 00:21:57.91\00:22:00.68 And then she's there with Romone, 00:22:00.72\00:22:02.55 and they're going back and forth about this same kind of passion. 00:22:02.58\00:22:05.25 And then I'm going to have Romone kind of chime in 00:22:05.69\00:22:07.86 and begin to share the miracle story of how things kind of 00:22:08.16\00:22:10.66 transitioned from there. 00:22:10.69\00:22:12.03 Yeah, so as Narlon mentioned, Danella and I really 00:22:12.06\00:22:15.86 just really connected on the work. 00:22:15.90\00:22:18.53 I had just come back from doing Bible work 00:22:18.57\00:22:21.30 in Louisville area. 00:22:22.30\00:22:25.51 And I saw some things that I thought would improve 00:22:25.77\00:22:29.98 the work, doing Bible work and doing evangelistic work 00:22:30.45\00:22:33.95 in the community. 00:22:33.98\00:22:35.32 And so we started talking about all of these things, 00:22:35.35\00:22:37.95 and one thing led to another. 00:22:38.19\00:22:40.52 And she was like, "Well, we need to do something." 00:22:40.72\00:22:45.59 And so, yeah, we need to do something. 00:22:45.63\00:22:47.43 So we ended up taking a trip to Michigan 00:22:47.46\00:22:51.80 where we had a company of students 00:22:52.23\00:22:55.57 from M.E.E.T. Ministry at the time. 00:22:56.50\00:22:58.24 And we went there and preached an evangelistic series, 00:22:58.44\00:23:02.98 did medical missionary work, 00:23:03.01\00:23:04.41 supported ourselves through canvassing, and did Bible work. 00:23:04.45\00:23:07.48 And so we saw that as a pilot program 00:23:07.78\00:23:10.35 that was very successful. 00:23:10.39\00:23:12.15 And while we were there, Rocky Davis, he's publishing director 00:23:12.42\00:23:17.39 of the Kentucky Tennessee Conference, 00:23:17.43\00:23:19.93 and we were talking back and forth about doing something 00:23:20.23\00:23:23.06 like this, what we were doing in Michigan. 00:23:23.10\00:23:25.10 And Rocky was like, "You know, this has been 00:23:25.57\00:23:27.84 my vision for years, to take young people 00:23:27.87\00:23:31.87 in various different lines and do ministry together 00:23:31.91\00:23:35.11 and reach the cities. 00:23:35.31\00:23:36.64 His idea was kind of like the Haskell model 00:23:37.51\00:23:41.08 you read in, Evangelism, page 108, 00:23:41.12\00:23:43.72 which was our vision as well. 00:23:43.99\00:23:47.06 So we kind of chuckled because we had the same idea. 00:23:47.09\00:23:51.56 And I brought up his name because he's how I got to do 00:23:51.59\00:23:54.20 Bible working in Kentucky and at M.E.E.T. Ministry 00:23:54.23\00:23:59.03 as a canvasing director in the first place. 00:23:59.07\00:24:01.14 So now we're just talking on phone just talking about our 00:24:01.17\00:24:03.41 vision, and everything. 00:24:03.44\00:24:04.77 And he's like, "Well, if it works, why don't you 00:24:04.81\00:24:09.28 write me a proposal. 00:24:09.31\00:24:10.68 And I think I know someone in Kentucky 00:24:11.05\00:24:14.25 that would be willing to have you use their property 00:24:14.55\00:24:18.72 for this purpose." 00:24:18.75\00:24:20.16 And so, we write the proposal, and we put just everything 00:24:20.79\00:24:26.03 that we could in this proposal. 00:24:26.06\00:24:28.13 And we sent it to Rocky and he was like, 00:24:29.76\00:24:33.00 "Yeah, this is perfect." 00:24:33.03\00:24:34.40 So he sends it to the owners of this property. 00:24:34.64\00:24:38.61 They are like, "Yeah, this is great. 00:24:38.91\00:24:41.61 Let's have a meeting." 00:24:41.98\00:24:43.45 And so, we go and we have this meeting them. 00:24:43.81\00:24:47.78 At first, we started talking about renting the property. 00:24:47.82\00:24:52.39 Maybe we could rent this property. 00:24:52.42\00:24:54.39 It was a nice big property, 400 plus acres, 00:24:55.12\00:25:00.76 and it came with a barn and had the lifestyle center there. 00:25:00.80\00:25:04.30 ~ It had a lifestyle center there already? 00:25:04.73\00:25:06.07 ~ It had a lifestyle center there. 00:25:06.10\00:25:07.44 This couple already had a vision for it. 00:25:07.47\00:25:09.37 ~ Yes, yes. 00:25:09.40\00:25:10.74 So they had a vision for this. 00:25:10.77\00:25:13.21 And so, now we started talking about renting this place. 00:25:13.58\00:25:18.65 And the owners were like, "Yeah, how does $1,500 sound?" 00:25:18.75\00:25:24.32 And we were like, "Well yeah, that's great." 00:25:24.79\00:25:27.09 A month. Sure, you know. 00:25:27.39\00:25:30.06 ~ And we saw the Lord's hand in that. 00:25:30.76\00:25:32.83 But as you mentioned Thomas Jackson from M.E.E.T. Ministry, 00:25:33.70\00:25:35.93 he was there in that meeting. 00:25:35.96\00:25:37.30 And God blessed him with wisdom. 00:25:37.33\00:25:39.10 He just said, "You know, the owners are getting up in age, 00:25:39.13\00:25:45.01 and if you guys start a ministry here, what's going to happen 00:25:45.11\00:25:49.14 if, God forbid, you know, something should happen?" 00:25:49.18\00:25:52.35 And so, that's when the owners were like, "Yeah, that's right. 00:25:52.78\00:25:56.15 Let's write up a contract." 00:25:56.18\00:25:57.62 And he said, "Well, the better this ministry runs, 00:25:58.15\00:26:00.46 the better the contract will read." 00:26:00.49\00:26:02.22 And so he said, "Let's meet again and we'll bring a lawyer 00:26:02.96\00:26:06.39 and we'll write up a contract." 00:26:06.43\00:26:07.76 So fast forward, just about a month later 00:26:07.80\00:26:11.17 we were in a meeting with them, Rocky and I, 00:26:11.20\00:26:15.34 and now this lawyer is there. 00:26:15.37\00:26:17.04 And they're kind of like, "Well, what's your vision? 00:26:17.54\00:26:20.48 You know, what's your vision for the place?" 00:26:20.51\00:26:22.78 So we explained our vision for the place, and you know, 00:26:22.81\00:26:26.65 that we want to do medical missionary work, 00:26:26.95\00:26:29.68 we want to teach evangelistic work, 00:26:29.72\00:26:32.12 we want to teach self-supporting work. 00:26:32.15\00:26:34.09 And we explained the vision to them. 00:26:34.12\00:26:36.49 And the owners, they were like, "You know, I don't know if this 00:26:36.79\00:26:40.96 was a dream or just a heavy burden impression 00:26:41.00\00:26:44.40 that I woke up with." 00:26:44.70\00:26:46.80 But she said, "You know, the Lord showed me that this place 00:26:47.00\00:26:50.11 should be a training school in connection with 00:26:50.14\00:26:53.27 the lifestyle center that's here. 00:26:53.88\00:26:55.51 And what you guys are explaining is exactly 00:26:55.74\00:26:58.98 what we intended for this facility that we built." 00:26:59.51\00:27:04.65 And so, they started just talking, 00:27:04.95\00:27:06.52 and we're just kind of there. 00:27:06.55\00:27:08.22 You guys were there also? 00:27:09.22\00:27:10.56 - Not at this time. - No, not at the time. 00:27:10.76\00:27:12.93 Yeah, it's powerful how Narlon comes in. 00:27:12.96\00:27:17.43 But at this moment, we're just there, and the lawyer is there. 00:27:17.47\00:27:22.34 He's there to write up this contract. 00:27:22.37\00:27:24.24 And all of a sudden the owners start talking to each other, 00:27:25.44\00:27:29.64 and they said, "You know, well we don't want to 00:27:29.68\00:27:32.48 donate this to anyone, the conference, or ministries. 00:27:32.68\00:27:38.99 We want it to go for a specific purpose. 00:27:39.02\00:27:42.02 And to be quite honest with you guys," 00:27:42.06\00:27:43.99 they said, "we have a business in Lexington 00:27:44.03\00:27:47.20 and we're getting up in age, and our children don't want it. 00:27:47.23\00:27:50.23 And so, we think we're going to just donate 00:27:50.90\00:27:54.80 everything to you guys for the ministry." 00:27:54.84\00:27:59.14 And so it was like, whoa, what just happened? 00:27:59.17\00:28:02.54 You know, I remember Rocky saying, you know, 00:28:04.11\00:28:06.01 you could hit him over the head with a feather 00:28:06.05\00:28:08.28 and he could fall over. 00:28:08.32\00:28:09.65 It was just like, wow, this is a miracles of miracles. 00:28:09.85\00:28:13.25 Like just, how do you explain this? 00:28:13.29\00:28:16.02 But it was just so powerful to see God's hand working. 00:28:16.06\00:28:19.93 And so, last thing I guess I could say on that is, 00:28:20.53\00:28:23.23 you know, going and seeing the property 00:28:23.47\00:28:26.60 and seeing that it had all the bells and whistles. 00:28:27.10\00:28:31.57 God really blessed above and beyond 00:28:31.61\00:28:35.44 what we could ask or think. 00:28:35.68\00:28:37.11 ~ For an outpost. - For an outpost. 00:28:37.15\00:28:38.48 ~ It has a building, it has a barn. 00:28:38.51\00:28:40.35 Water everywhere, natural gas. 00:28:40.68\00:28:43.69 Tractors, bulldozers. 00:28:44.65\00:28:47.56 So many different things. 00:28:47.92\00:28:49.32 ~ So is it actively being used now then 00:28:50.63\00:28:52.83 for the purpose that you guys, the dream that you had for it? 00:28:52.86\00:28:55.63 Oh yes, yes, definitely. 00:28:55.66\00:28:57.00 We're going to come to that and share all the 00:28:57.03\00:28:59.03 updates and everything of that nature 00:28:59.07\00:29:00.84 a little bit as we progress. 00:29:01.67\00:29:03.74 But it's amazing how God just brought things full circle. 00:29:03.94\00:29:07.68 So remember, my wife and I, when we were looking to 00:29:08.44\00:29:10.81 publish the cookbook, that same Rocky Davis came and 00:29:10.85\00:29:13.55 sat in our living room in the Atlanta area 00:29:13.58\00:29:17.55 about the publishing. 00:29:17.65\00:29:18.99 And then when I transitioned to M.E.E.T. Ministry, 00:29:19.02\00:29:21.36 I wanted to bring the publishing work there. 00:29:21.39\00:29:22.92 I had no idea, but Rocky had become the publishing director. 00:29:23.02\00:29:25.93 So we made that connection. 00:29:26.13\00:29:27.46 And then he brought Romone. 00:29:27.50\00:29:28.83 And then Danella and I were always in contact. 00:29:28.86\00:29:30.97 And then full circle, we all came together. 00:29:31.27\00:29:33.13 And once they started that process, I was contacted. 00:29:33.47\00:29:36.64 And then they asked me to come and 00:29:36.67\00:29:38.44 direct the outpost ministry there. 00:29:38.47\00:29:40.74 ~ That's how you guys came. - That's how we got connected. 00:29:40.78\00:29:42.64 And it's just a blessing how the Lord worked it out. 00:29:42.68\00:29:44.71 And it's just amazing that I met Narlon just before that 00:29:44.91\00:29:49.22 at M.E.E.T. Ministry in 2017. 00:29:49.25\00:29:52.29 So the Lord just worked that out so perfectly. 00:29:52.32\00:29:54.62 ~ Wow. ~ Yes, yes. 00:29:54.66\00:29:55.99 So the question now is, are these things being carried out? 00:29:56.83\00:30:00.66 So I'll just explain that. 00:30:00.70\00:30:02.03 We're a multifaceted ministry, of course, that's focused on 00:30:02.06\00:30:05.43 using the country as a base. 00:30:05.63\00:30:07.30 And then bringing the gospel to those who are in the cities, 00:30:07.60\00:30:10.11 ministering to the cities. 00:30:10.14\00:30:11.47 And the goal with outpost is that when you go and minister 00:30:11.61\00:30:14.21 into the cities now, you want to bring the people back 00:30:14.24\00:30:16.04 to a more solid serene experience so that they'll get 00:30:16.08\00:30:18.95 something different than what they're used to. 00:30:18.98\00:30:20.75 But the whole goal and focus of it is evangelism. 00:30:21.05\00:30:24.15 And I'll just share a little bit about why we came to 00:30:24.45\00:30:27.49 the conclusions of how we do ministry. 00:30:27.52\00:30:29.72 We pretty much follow Christ's method of evangelism. 00:30:30.43\00:30:32.69 And Christ's method of evangelism is that 00:30:32.89\00:30:35.73 He focused on what the needs of the people were. 00:30:35.76\00:30:38.53 He ministered to their needs, won their confidence before 00:30:38.57\00:30:40.84 He bade them to "follow Me." 00:30:40.87\00:30:42.20 But one of the things that most people don't realize 00:30:42.44\00:30:44.77 about Christ's ministry is that His ministry wasn't as broad, 00:30:44.81\00:30:47.61 as far as proximity, as people think. 00:30:47.64\00:30:50.88 He literally went around the Galilean tour. 00:30:50.91\00:30:53.25 If you read in Matthew 4, that's Galilean tour number one. 00:30:53.55\00:30:57.05 Matthew 9, Galilean tour number two. 00:30:57.09\00:30:59.45 And later on in Matthew 9, I think it's verse 36, 00:30:59.49\00:31:02.99 you know if you have a study Bible, that tells you that's 00:31:03.02\00:31:05.19 Galilean tour number three. 00:31:05.39\00:31:07.16 So He literally just kept going in circles. 00:31:07.20\00:31:09.16 And what I find fascinating, as I study Christ's ministry, 00:31:09.43\00:31:12.27 is that there's some people that rejected Him the first time 00:31:12.30\00:31:17.01 in His Galilean tour. 00:31:17.11\00:31:18.44 And then when He came around the second time, 00:31:18.77\00:31:20.41 those people that rejected Him, because they heard of what He's 00:31:20.44\00:31:22.78 done, the miracles and healing and ministry, 00:31:22.81\00:31:25.28 the second time around they're more receptive. 00:31:25.71\00:31:28.32 And then those who rejected Him the second time, 00:31:28.35\00:31:30.49 the third time around they might be a little bit more receptive. 00:31:30.82\00:31:33.36 ~ And even after He died, 00:31:33.76\00:31:35.19 there were people that were more receptive. 00:31:35.22\00:31:36.99 That's exactly right. 00:31:37.03\00:31:38.36 The demoniacs, they come to mind. 00:31:38.39\00:31:40.36 Of course, you know, Jesus was kicked out of that region. 00:31:41.33\00:31:43.87 And you know, those demoniacs who were healed, they said, 00:31:44.40\00:31:47.64 "We want to be with You. We want to come and study more." 00:31:47.67\00:31:49.74 And He said, "No, go back and tell them what 00:31:50.14\00:31:52.47 great things I've done for you." 00:31:52.51\00:31:53.94 And when Christ came back around, those same people that 00:31:54.18\00:31:57.18 rejected Him, that's actually where He fed the 4000. 00:31:57.21\00:32:00.08 And most people don't realize that. 00:32:00.12\00:32:01.58 So what I find in ministry, as my wife and I were ministering 00:32:02.15\00:32:04.79 around for many years, is that as we're going through an 00:32:04.82\00:32:07.89 evangelistic series, we'll use health as an entering wedge. 00:32:07.92\00:32:10.96 We'll do our cooking classes, we'll do our natural remedies 00:32:10.99\00:32:14.03 demonstrations, we'll meet with people and do health 00:32:14.06\00:32:15.90 consultations and help them to make that transition. 00:32:15.93\00:32:18.80 We'll bring them into the church, 00:32:18.83\00:32:20.30 I'll follow up with an evangelistic meeting, 00:32:20.60\00:32:22.54 they get baptized. 00:32:22.84\00:32:24.44 I'll go back a few months or a few years later, 00:32:24.67\00:32:26.94 and you know the story. 00:32:26.98\00:32:28.51 They're not there. 00:32:28.54\00:32:29.88 So I wanted to create a more sustainable model 00:32:30.01\00:32:33.11 that you're actually where you're working. 00:32:33.75\00:32:35.65 You know, I want to be there and be able to see the people. 00:32:35.68\00:32:38.65 So where we are, our ministry is constructed 00:32:39.09\00:32:41.52 in such a way that we can do our own Galilean tour. 00:32:41.56\00:32:44.13 We're there. 00:32:44.16\00:32:45.49 If somebody falls back into smoking again, I'm there. 00:32:45.53\00:32:48.40 If they fall back into drinking again, I'm there. 00:32:48.43\00:32:51.03 If they fall back into depression again, I can go 00:32:51.07\00:32:53.17 knock on their door and visit them. 00:32:53.20\00:32:54.54 Whereas before, you know I leave them in another country 00:32:54.90\00:32:56.91 or another state. 00:32:56.94\00:32:58.27 It's not as easy for me to go back and see them. 00:32:58.31\00:33:01.21 And so the model that we created now is that we're 00:33:01.58\00:33:04.15 finding creative ways of being there in our local community, 00:33:04.18\00:33:08.65 our local focused ministry, that we want this model 00:33:08.68\00:33:13.12 of a local focus to spread all throughout the world. 00:33:13.15\00:33:15.86 In other words, we're not relegating our ministry to 00:33:16.22\00:33:18.76 Stanton Kentucky where we are, but we want others to catch 00:33:18.79\00:33:21.90 this model that, "I want to be able to work 00:33:21.93\00:33:23.87 my community where I am. 00:33:23.90\00:33:25.33 I want to be there for my people when they fall back 00:33:25.43\00:33:28.00 into their depression, when they fall back into their stress, 00:33:28.04\00:33:30.37 when they fall back into their alcohol." 00:33:30.41\00:33:31.97 Whatever it might be. 00:33:32.01\00:33:33.44 When they just fall back into their old ways 00:33:33.48\00:33:36.31 before they accepted the gospel, 00:33:36.34\00:33:37.68 because it happens, it's a reality, 00:33:37.71\00:33:39.08 that I could be there for them, I could knock on their door, 00:33:39.28\00:33:41.25 I can go and put my hands-on their shoulders, 00:33:41.28\00:33:42.95 I can put my hands around their neck. 00:33:42.98\00:33:44.52 And pray with them, and counsel with them, 00:33:45.12\00:33:47.49 and eat with them, and break bread with them. 00:33:47.52\00:33:49.39 And just kind of, you know, love them back 00:33:49.69\00:33:52.33 into the ministry. 00:33:52.36\00:33:54.10 That's kind of the model that we're looking at. 00:33:54.13\00:33:55.83 ~ Paul caught that vision. Paul caught that vision. 00:33:56.03\00:33:58.80 You know, in 1st and 2nd Corinthians, he brought the 00:33:58.90\00:34:01.40 Corinthians in, and then they backslid, and then he wrote 00:34:01.44\00:34:03.54 them a letter, and then he wrote them another letter. 00:34:03.57\00:34:05.24 And you see them go, you know, through this process 00:34:05.27\00:34:08.44 that you're describing; Paul went in those circles, 00:34:08.48\00:34:10.31 and went in those circles. 00:34:10.35\00:34:11.68 Discipleship, it was all about discipleship. 00:34:11.71\00:34:13.62 ~ That's exactly right. 00:34:13.65\00:34:14.98 Yeah, I love that. 00:34:15.02\00:34:16.35 So I want to get a little bit deeper into the question. 00:34:16.38\00:34:20.22 Are we carrying out the vision there? 00:34:20.56\00:34:22.49 So I'm going to have Romone jump in here and kind of 00:34:22.52\00:34:24.43 share some of the happenings in our community. 00:34:24.46\00:34:27.36 What are some of the programs that we're doing 00:34:27.40\00:34:29.00 to reach the community, and so on and so forth. 00:34:29.03\00:34:31.67 So if you don't mind jumping in, Romone, and kind of 00:34:31.70\00:34:33.67 give a little update on our ministry. 00:34:33.70\00:34:35.64 We've got some pictures too. 00:34:35.67\00:34:37.44 - Yes, absolutely. - Okay. 00:34:37.47\00:34:39.77 So it's been a blessing just to work in this local community. 00:34:39.81\00:34:45.45 One of the things that has happened is the establishment 00:34:46.08\00:34:49.02 of our restaurant and bakery. 00:34:49.05\00:34:51.69 And God just really blessed with that. 00:34:51.89\00:34:55.26 I wish I could go into all the nuances of that story, 00:34:55.89\00:35:00.33 just of God's miraculous leading. 00:35:00.36\00:35:02.06 So you have a restaurant and a bakery on the 400 acres? 00:35:02.10\00:35:04.17 This is actually in town. 00:35:04.63\00:35:06.43 So we rented a building in town. 00:35:06.90\00:35:08.60 And this kind of serves as our reference point 00:35:09.10\00:35:12.07 for the ministry. 00:35:12.11\00:35:13.44 And it's a center of influence where we get to meet people and 00:35:13.48\00:35:18.41 build relationships with people as they come in 00:35:18.45\00:35:20.92 And when I say reference point, I mean a lot of time we're 00:35:21.12\00:35:24.55 out in the community and people may wonder, 00:35:24.59\00:35:27.72 "Who are you guys?" Or, "What are you guys?" 00:35:27.76\00:35:29.56 And we just say, "Oh, we're from the 00:35:29.92\00:35:31.89 Red River Kitchen and Bakery." 00:35:31.93\00:35:33.33 "Oh yeah, yeah, we know you guys. 00:35:33.36\00:35:35.20 Oh yeah, we know about you." 00:35:35.23\00:35:36.90 Or, "We've been there before." 00:35:37.20\00:35:38.83 So just like we're told in counsel, 00:35:39.13\00:35:42.97 the health ministry helps to break down prejudice. 00:35:43.00\00:35:46.04 ~ How big of a town is this place that you're in? 00:35:46.07\00:35:48.14 ~ It's actually a very small town. 00:35:48.18\00:35:49.74 ~ So everyone gets to know who you are. 00:35:50.25\00:35:52.58 - Yes, yes. - Gotcha. 00:35:52.61\00:35:53.95 And word spreads very quickly. 00:35:53.98\00:35:56.38 ~ The town is small, but if you don't mind sharing a little, 00:35:56.42\00:35:58.65 Romone, even though it's a small town, it is 00:35:58.69\00:36:00.69 a tourist attraction. 00:36:00.79\00:36:02.22 We're in an area called, the Red River Gorge. 00:36:02.96\00:36:05.29 And it's a top ten rock climbing destination in the world. 00:36:05.59\00:36:08.46 Top five in the U.S. 00:36:08.50\00:36:09.83 Some places actually have it as number one. 00:36:09.86\00:36:11.40 So even though we're in a small town, 00:36:11.73\00:36:13.17 we have over a million visitors every year that 00:36:13.20\00:36:15.87 come to rock climbing. 00:36:15.90\00:36:17.24 ~ And rock climbers are health. ~ Oh yeah. 00:36:17.27\00:36:18.61 They like good health food, right? 00:36:18.64\00:36:19.97 So they're looking for a place 00:36:20.01\00:36:21.34 where they can get some good food. 00:36:21.38\00:36:22.71 We've met people from Africa, from Asia, from Italy 00:36:22.74\00:36:25.48 that has come to that area, that small town, for rock climbing. 00:36:25.65\00:36:28.58 Some say this is their favorite or their second favorite 00:36:28.88\00:36:33.46 place, as far as rock climbing is concerned. 00:36:33.49\00:36:35.82 ~ What a potential. - Yeah. 00:36:35.86\00:36:37.19 - Sorry, Romone. - Oh, no. 00:36:37.23\00:36:38.56 Just adding here to the story. 00:36:38.59\00:36:41.10 It's so beautiful, you know, how God has been working. 00:36:41.13\00:36:44.07 So with the restaurant, you know, we've had the opportunity 00:36:44.10\00:36:48.57 of meeting people, we've had the opportunity of 00:36:48.60\00:36:51.91 giving out literature. 00:36:51.94\00:36:53.61 You know, potential Bible study contacts. 00:36:54.78\00:36:57.31 And in addition to the restaurant and bakery, 00:36:57.61\00:37:01.38 we also saw God's hand moving with our local church 00:37:01.58\00:37:07.09 that we attend to plant a church in Stanton. 00:37:07.12\00:37:10.86 So we actually attend a church 30 minutes away, 00:37:10.89\00:37:13.60 we attended a church 30 minutes away. 00:37:14.46\00:37:17.27 And then, God was just working everything out for us 00:37:17.60\00:37:22.14 to move locally to where we are in Stanton 00:37:22.17\00:37:26.01 and planting this Stanton Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:37:26.04\00:37:30.21 And I don't know how much you want me to share on just the... 00:37:30.51\00:37:33.52 ~ But before we come to the church, I'm going to 00:37:33.85\00:37:35.55 back up, because there's some other community based 00:37:35.58\00:37:38.59 things that we did that led up to the church. 00:37:38.62\00:37:40.69 We also did our TCI, Total Community Involvement. 00:37:41.09\00:37:44.43 You wanted to say something? 00:37:44.46\00:37:45.79 - The ten day health challenge. - Oh yeah. 00:37:45.83\00:37:47.40 So I'll started with TCI, which is Total Community Involvement. 00:37:47.43\00:37:52.13 It was just us going out and finding out where help is needed 00:37:52.17\00:37:54.30 and meeting the needs of the people. 00:37:54.34\00:37:55.67 Whether it's raking their yard, if it's minor home repairs. 00:37:55.70\00:37:59.44 Even though we got into some major ones, 00:37:59.47\00:38:00.91 even though we thought it was minor. 00:38:00.94\00:38:02.28 Yeah, taking an interest into their secular affairs. 00:38:03.61\00:38:05.45 ~ Exactly. 00:38:05.48\00:38:06.82 So we did that, and that helped to really 00:38:06.85\00:38:09.38 get to know the community better. 00:38:09.42\00:38:11.02 And then we did a ten day challenge. 00:38:11.29\00:38:12.85 We had some friends, the McClovers, that came out and 00:38:12.89\00:38:15.09 helped us with the first one. 00:38:15.12\00:38:16.46 Samantha, tell us a little bit of what that's about? 00:38:16.49\00:38:17.93 ~ What's a ten day challenge? 00:38:17.96\00:38:19.29 So the ten-day health challenge is where we go out in the 00:38:19.33\00:38:22.00 community, somewhat like a canvasser, and we survey 00:38:22.03\00:38:25.70 the community, and we ask people if they want to make 00:38:25.73\00:38:29.70 changes in their life. 00:38:29.74\00:38:31.07 Most of the time they do. 00:38:31.11\00:38:32.64 And so what it is, we prepare meals for them for ten days. 00:38:33.14\00:38:38.21 We essentially start out with a little detox program 00:38:38.25\00:38:40.85 where we do juicing and assign them to a health coach. 00:38:40.88\00:38:44.09 Assign a health coach to them. 00:38:44.22\00:38:45.55 And also just a prayer... 00:38:45.95\00:38:47.66 Well, the health coach prays with them and encourages them 00:38:47.99\00:38:51.89 to continue on in the program for the ten day period. 00:38:51.93\00:38:54.43 So we provide meals for them, two meals a day 00:38:54.46\00:38:58.13 for ten days straight. 00:38:58.17\00:39:00.37 And then they're also working every day 00:39:00.40\00:39:02.70 with their health counselor who goes to drop off the food 00:39:02.74\00:39:07.18 for them in the mornings. 00:39:07.38\00:39:09.08 So they have that constant contact with their health coach. 00:39:09.28\00:39:13.68 And they're also encouraging them to exercise and to 00:39:14.78\00:39:18.35 pretty much follow God's plan as we know it. 00:39:18.39\00:39:21.19 And so, that has been met with a good amount of success 00:39:21.22\00:39:25.79 because you're able to really meet people in their homes, 00:39:25.83\00:39:28.10 where they are, and also provide for them 00:39:28.13\00:39:29.93 the foods that are so necessary for life. 00:39:29.96\00:39:32.00 ~ Is that ten day thing a little bit like the 00:39:32.03\00:39:33.57 Daniel thing in Daniel chapter 1? 00:39:33.60\00:39:35.30 ~ It is, it's very similar. Yeah, very similar. 00:39:35.34\00:39:37.31 So we had that, and of course along with that 00:39:37.61\00:39:40.24 we do cooking classes, we do health lectures, 00:39:40.28\00:39:43.14 we do natural remedies demonstrations. 00:39:43.18\00:39:45.51 We run out of our local community center. 00:39:45.55\00:39:47.58 And in our local community center, it is a more 00:39:48.15\00:39:50.22 neutral place where people can be more comfortable. 00:39:50.25\00:39:52.09 It's funny because our restaurant to our base 00:39:52.42\00:39:56.02 is only about 12 minutes. 00:39:56.06\00:39:58.03 But for some, that's the end of the world. 00:39:58.53\00:40:00.40 ~ So it's nice having our restaurant as a base, 00:40:03.93\00:40:07.80 but also the community center, it's more open 00:40:07.84\00:40:10.67 and it's more generic still. 00:40:10.87\00:40:12.57 So we've used that as a means of having these 00:40:12.87\00:40:15.48 community initiatives as well. 00:40:15.51\00:40:16.85 ~ And how did that lead to the church? 00:40:16.88\00:40:18.21 Yes, so now Romone will jump back. 00:40:18.25\00:40:19.71 So through having all of these contacts that we made 00:40:21.58\00:40:28.36 through the programs that they just mentioned, 00:40:29.16\00:40:31.86 having the TCI program, the ten day health challenge, 00:40:32.36\00:40:36.06 the health coaching, the restaurant and bakery, 00:40:36.10\00:40:42.00 it just naturally led to having these contacts come to worship 00:40:42.30\00:40:48.38 with us in a local area. 00:40:48.41\00:40:50.51 One of the things we learned about the people that live 00:40:50.68\00:40:53.35 in that area is that, not only is 12 minutes far, 00:40:53.38\00:40:59.02 but to drive to just another county for church 00:40:59.05\00:41:02.26 is just unheard of. 00:41:02.29\00:41:04.79 They just want to stay in that county. 00:41:05.09\00:41:07.96 And so, it just made so much sense to plant a church 00:41:08.16\00:41:11.60 in the area that we are. 00:41:12.10\00:41:14.97 And God has just been blessing that so much. 00:41:15.00\00:41:17.24 The relationship we have with the former Methodist Church now 00:41:17.27\00:41:20.98 is amazing; we rent from them. 00:41:21.74\00:41:24.55 And we've just built a positive relationship with them, 00:41:24.98\00:41:29.05 to the point that they announce our Bible studies 00:41:29.08\00:41:32.95 in their bulletin on Sunday, 00:41:32.99\00:41:36.59 and encourage their members to come out to our Bible studies. 00:41:36.62\00:41:40.20 Which we have about ten or so attending. 00:41:40.23\00:41:45.80 ~ So it really is the opening wedge, isn't it? 00:41:45.83\00:41:47.20 - The health message. ~ Yes. 00:41:47.24\00:41:48.67 It's the right arm. That's so powerful. 00:41:48.70\00:41:50.77 Yes, and Romone leads that study every Thursday evening. 00:41:50.81\00:41:53.58 It's pretty much going through our core beliefs. 00:41:54.11\00:41:56.21 And that's what we're doing for our church as well, 00:41:56.24\00:41:57.58 going through our core beliefs. 00:41:57.61\00:41:58.95 We are a new denomination to a new town. 00:41:58.98\00:42:01.28 - People wonder who we are. ~ No Adventist church around? 00:42:01.68\00:42:03.18 It's a dark county, it's a dark area. 00:42:03.22\00:42:05.19 Well, not a dark county, but dark area. 00:42:05.22\00:42:07.16 - Is the county dark? ~ Yeah. 00:42:07.19\00:42:08.59 - Yeah, so it is a dark county. ~ How big is this county? 00:42:08.62\00:42:09.96 ~ I mean, is it 7000 people, 10,000 people, 5,000 people? 00:42:09.99\00:42:12.69 ~ If I were to guess, maybe about 10,000. 00:42:12.73\00:42:14.13 ~ Yeah, about 10,000. - Okay, yeah. 00:42:14.16\00:42:15.96 - So a small town then. ~ It's a small town. 00:42:16.00\00:42:18.03 So just kind of going through our core beliefs and 00:42:18.07\00:42:19.83 let them get to know who are we. 00:42:20.04\00:42:21.37 So as a result of the friendships that we've built, 00:42:21.40\00:42:24.67 Romone does a series every Thursday evening. 00:42:24.87\00:42:26.98 It's well attended by our community. 00:42:27.01\00:42:28.78 We've developed such great friendships that it's just 00:42:29.14\00:42:31.75 amazing to see how many friends we've won through that. 00:42:31.78\00:42:35.65 And also the fact that some of our church friends 00:42:35.75\00:42:41.36 from the other denomination actually weekly worship with us. 00:42:41.39\00:42:44.53 Yes, yes, I forgot to mention that. 00:42:44.96\00:42:46.86 The church was Methodist. 00:42:48.43\00:42:50.80 They just transitioned out. 00:42:50.83\00:42:52.23 They're a community church now. 00:42:52.73\00:42:54.74 And they come pretty much every Sabbath 00:42:55.24\00:42:57.87 and worship with us and fellowship with us. 00:42:57.91\00:42:59.71 We visit them, we do Bible studies with them, and so on. 00:43:00.08\00:43:02.88 The community is just, it's just an amazing place to be. 00:43:02.91\00:43:05.25 We feel very, very blessed to be there. 00:43:05.28\00:43:06.88 ~ Well we've got about eight minutes left. 00:43:07.52\00:43:09.22 I'm just wondering, okay so up to this point 00:43:09.25\00:43:12.65 do you have a future vision? 00:43:12.92\00:43:14.39 Like, where do you think you're going? 00:43:14.42\00:43:17.13 Or this direction you're going to be taking, 00:43:17.16\00:43:18.56 what are the things you're looking at for the future? 00:43:18.59\00:43:20.63 ~ Yes, so ultimately we want to replicate. 00:43:21.03\00:43:25.53 But we realize that there's some more work for us to do 00:43:25.73\00:43:28.27 before we replicate. 00:43:28.30\00:43:29.64 One of the things we didn't get into the details of, 00:43:29.77\00:43:31.51 we did have a pioneer phase where we brought in students. 00:43:31.54\00:43:34.24 And those students who were trained, by God's grace 00:43:34.28\00:43:36.24 almost all of them, a good amount of them, 00:43:36.44\00:43:38.25 are in some kind of other full-time work now 00:43:38.28\00:43:41.88 in the gospel lines, whether it is Bible working or canvassing, 00:43:41.92\00:43:45.59 or whatever the case may be. 00:43:45.62\00:43:46.96 But we realize at the time we didn't have enough industries. 00:43:47.36\00:43:50.06 So we kind of went through a phase where we wanted 00:43:50.39\00:43:53.40 to pause from the school perspective 00:43:53.43\00:43:56.33 and get our industries up and running. 00:43:56.77\00:43:58.27 And by God's grace, we're able. We have the restaurant now. 00:43:58.30\00:44:00.67 We have the sanitarium now. 00:44:01.24\00:44:02.64 We have a construction connection. 00:44:03.34\00:44:05.34 We have one of our leaders that actually 00:44:05.37\00:44:07.94 leads a construction team as well. 00:44:07.98\00:44:09.44 Yeah, so we feel we're at a place now where we have 00:44:09.48\00:44:13.18 more industries so when the students come in, 00:44:13.72\00:44:16.15 they have something solid that they can go through. 00:44:16.58\00:44:19.12 But... 00:44:20.19\00:44:21.52 ~ So the students now... Sorry to interrupt you. 00:44:21.56\00:44:22.96 The students now you're training them, you're teaching them, 00:44:22.99\00:44:25.23 but you're also training them in practical skills. 00:44:25.26\00:44:27.63 - Exactly, yeah. - Gotcha, love that. 00:44:27.66\00:44:29.00 So we call it more so like evanga-living. 00:44:29.03\00:44:31.23 We want to bring them into life. 00:44:31.27\00:44:32.83 So we have three strategies, 00:44:33.30\00:44:35.54 which is to create a working model. 00:44:35.57\00:44:37.34 So they can come and they're in the model. 00:44:37.37\00:44:39.14 We're not telling them about it, they're actually going to the 00:44:39.17\00:44:41.44 doors and visiting with us. 00:44:41.48\00:44:42.81 They're actually seeing how the restaurant transitions 00:44:42.84\00:44:44.48 into a church, and how the cooking classes transition 00:44:44.51\00:44:47.52 into Bible studies. 00:44:47.55\00:44:48.88 So we want them to be a part of it. 00:44:48.92\00:44:50.25 So to create that model that they can actually see, 00:44:50.29\00:44:52.75 then inspire them to go and do the same, 00:44:53.05\00:44:55.26 and then equip them to have the resources. 00:44:55.56\00:44:58.13 Whether it's materials, or finances, or you know, 00:44:58.16\00:45:01.33 if we get calls for other people that want to donate land. 00:45:01.36\00:45:04.20 You know, kind of have that resource 00:45:04.50\00:45:05.83 like the old Madison model that we can actually help them 00:45:05.87\00:45:08.70 to get to the next phase and replicate this model 00:45:08.74\00:45:11.01 all throughout the world. 00:45:11.04\00:45:12.37 ~ That would be great. 00:45:12.41\00:45:13.74 So the goal now is to get that school back up and running. 00:45:13.78\00:45:15.44 But we do have some limitations. 00:45:15.91\00:45:17.91 And the limitations is, we do have that main house 00:45:18.31\00:45:21.28 and another house on the property, 00:45:21.32\00:45:22.75 but we don't have enough housing. 00:45:22.78\00:45:24.35 So the next phase for us, what we're looking to do now 00:45:24.79\00:45:26.99 is to generate and raise funds 00:45:27.36\00:45:30.53 to get to the next phase of construction. 00:45:30.63\00:45:33.40 We did break ground, by faith. 00:45:33.66\00:45:35.13 We're putting in roads and we just built a bridge 00:45:35.16\00:45:37.43 to get to other parts of the property. 00:45:37.47\00:45:39.13 So our goal now is to get some faculty housing 00:45:39.43\00:45:42.20 and student housing so that we can bring in 00:45:42.24\00:45:44.11 more staff and more students now 00:45:44.14\00:45:45.81 to get our ministry to the next phase. 00:45:45.84\00:45:47.74 So we do have that limitation. 00:45:48.04\00:45:49.38 So the next phase is to get that training school up and running 00:45:49.41\00:45:52.01 where we see more people with this local focus 00:45:52.28\00:45:55.12 medical missionary outpost evangelism ministry 00:45:56.22\00:46:00.06 to seed many more places. 00:46:00.09\00:46:02.79 But we realize our limitation is housing. 00:46:03.19\00:46:04.89 So that's our next phase to get our ministry to the next level. 00:46:04.93\00:46:09.33 Amen. Praise God. 00:46:09.43\00:46:11.03 The ministry has been blessed in so many ways. 00:46:11.07\00:46:14.20 And I think we have a short video now we can share 00:46:14.24\00:46:16.37 just kind of summarizing the whole project. 00:46:16.40\00:46:18.77 Red River Outpost is a ministry patterned 00:46:20.58\00:46:23.24 after the model of Christ. 00:46:23.28\00:46:25.05 We are nestled in the beautiful valley of eastern Kentucky 00:46:25.35\00:46:28.45 in the Red River Gorge surrounded 00:46:28.75\00:46:30.52 by the Appalachian Mountains. 00:46:30.55\00:46:32.45 Our vision is to develop and demonstrate a biblical 00:46:33.15\00:46:36.12 ministry model that helps communities towards health, 00:46:36.16\00:46:39.69 peace, and spiritual restoration. 00:46:39.96\00:46:42.70 The mission of Red River Outpost combines practical education, 00:46:43.87\00:46:47.20 health service, and industry to make an impact 00:46:47.24\00:46:50.14 in our local community and around the world. 00:46:50.17\00:46:53.91 We are committed to providing useful education 00:46:55.04\00:46:57.48 for our students, a transformative lifestyle 00:46:57.51\00:47:00.32 program for our health guests, and practical services 00:47:00.35\00:47:03.45 that meet the needs of the people in our communities. 00:47:03.49\00:47:06.65 To learn more about our ministry, visit us at 00:47:07.26\00:47:10.43 redriveroutpost.org. 00:47:10.46\00:47:12.83 Also, to learn more about our food factory 00:47:12.86\00:47:14.86 and to try some of our products, you can visit our website 00:47:14.90\00:47:18.50 at eatnewbreed.com. 00:47:18.53\00:47:21.10 Well that is exactly where I'm going to be going, honey. 00:47:22.64\00:47:25.14 I'm going to be going to that website first. 00:47:25.17\00:47:26.98 You guys, we're going to become faithful customers. 00:47:27.01\00:47:29.38 We also want to come out and visit you. 00:47:29.98\00:47:31.31 We just think that would be a great place to check out 00:47:31.35\00:47:33.11 and do personally. 00:47:33.15\00:47:34.52 What else have you got, just in our few minutes left? 00:47:34.72\00:47:37.69 Romone, I think you have something else 00:47:37.99\00:47:40.02 you wanted to share. 00:47:40.06\00:47:41.39 Yes, you know, in the process of our conversation here, 00:47:41.42\00:47:46.80 it has really dawned on me that we want to let our viewers 00:47:46.83\00:47:49.36 know that everything that God has laid upon our hearts 00:47:49.40\00:47:54.30 and what we see is, the goal is the soul. 00:47:54.34\00:47:57.01 And it's about revealing Christ to our community 00:47:57.31\00:48:00.88 and finding different avenues of reaching our community 00:48:00.91\00:48:04.51 and, you know, really building that bridge 00:48:04.95\00:48:08.48 to our local community, as Narlon shared. 00:48:08.68\00:48:10.82 So I just thought that was important for me to share 00:48:10.85\00:48:14.52 why we're doing all these things, what we're doing. 00:48:14.56\00:48:18.36 The goal is really the soul. 00:48:18.39\00:48:20.10 I love that.
