You know, God has really led
me on a journey through my life.

I grew up in a Christian home,
and I'm very grateful for that.

We were a home that
had rules and bedtime,

and we went to church.

I went to church on Sunday.

Just kind of your
standard American home.

But I'm very
thankful for that upbringing.

It really served as a
foundation for me later in life.

Because as I did get
older I began to, you know,

get very interested in sports.
00:07:59.01\00:08:00.91
Basketball was
really my preferred sport.

~ I'm there with you, man.

It's like you're
telling my story.

~ Yes, yes.

And really, Ryan,
it got to the point

where it became
really an obsession.

You know, it was kind of like
a dominating factor in my life

that really
consumed a lot of my thoughts
00:08:15.59\00:08:17.59
and a lot of my
dreams and hopes.

And as I grew older,
I approached that age,

I was about 19 years
old, where I looked around me
00:08:23.57\00:08:26.84
and I realized it's
no longer convenient

for me to be a Christian.

Because growing up
it was very convenient.

That's where my friends were,
that's where my family would go.

You know, to church.

When I was 19 I started to see,
there's things in this world

that I will be missing
out on if I'm a Christian.

And so, I thought to
myself, I don't want to miss out

on these things for
something that's not true.

And so I began to question God.

I began to ask, is
the Bible really true?

Does God really
exist? Is He real?

And I became very transparent.

I talked to people
that I loved and trusted.

And I told them
what I was going through.

I asked them to pray for me.

And, Ryan, I came away from
that, I came to the conclusion

that the weight of the
evidence is overwhelming

for God and the Bible.

I didn't have all of
my questions answered,

but I had enough to realize that
it would be the most foolish

decision of my life
to walk away from God

and gamble with my eternity.

And so I made a
decision to follow God.

Soon after that, I met a young
lady in a public speaking class

that I was taking in college.

And we would just talk
in the hallway after class.

You know, one day I asked her
00:09:42.41\00:09:43.75
what she was
doing for the weekend.
00:09:43.78\00:09:45.11
And she said, "Well, I'm
going to church on Saturday."
00:09:45.38\00:09:47.82
And immediately
I said, "Saturday?
00:09:48.08\00:09:50.22
That's not the
right day to go to church.
00:09:50.25\00:09:52.15
What's going on with that?"
00:09:52.19\00:09:53.52
~ What are you
doing? - Yeah, exactly.

Saturday is the day to
go shopping, or go hunting,
00:09:54.92\00:09:56.86
or go fishing, or to go
whatever you want to do, right?

~ Right, exactly, exactly.

And so, you know, she
said, "Well, that's the
00:10:01.33\00:10:03.43
fourth
commandment of the Bible."
00:10:03.47\00:10:05.53
And it just hit me
like a ton of bricks.

I thought, I either
have to prove her wrong
00:10:08.57\00:10:11.41
or I have to study this out and
start doing what she is doing.
00:10:11.44\00:10:15.41
And so, that really
started a journey for me.
00:10:16.04\00:10:18.25
A journey through God's
Word where I began to test
00:10:18.28\00:10:21.58
different beliefs that I had.
00:10:21.62\00:10:22.95
I started to attend her church.
00:10:22.98\00:10:24.92
It was a Spanish-speaking church
and she would translate for me.
00:10:25.49\00:10:28.46
And eventually, I started to see
that not only was the Sabbath
00:10:30.26\00:10:34.66
God's holy day, part of
His Ten Commandments law,
00:10:34.70\00:10:38.67
but I started to see a
complete system of truth.

A system of truth that was
harmonious, that was perfectly
00:10:42.04\00:10:46.14
united with itself.
00:10:46.44\00:10:48.04
And it was basically a golden
thread that was connecting

all of the truths that I
had learned throughout my life.

~ And it was the
three angels' messages.

That's it, man. I just
have to pause for a moment.

Because
everything you're saying,

it's like you're
repeating my story.

I mean, it's amazing because
when you walk into a room...

And this is just a
metaphor or an illustration.

If you've ever walked into
a room that's completely dark,

you know you're in a
room and you know that there's

so many things in this
room, but you can't see it.

You might light a match,
or you might use a lighter.

And I'm just again

And so, that light or
that match is going to

put off a certain light so that
as you walk closer to something,

you know, it illuminates
the area so that you can see

the objects or the
things that are in the path.

But you may not be able, to with
the limitation of that light,

be able to see everything else.

But it's almost
like with the Sabbath...

I had the same experience,
similar, not exactly the same.

I grew up in a Christian home.

When I learned the
truth about the Sabbath,

it was like the bright
halogen light bulb in my life,
00:11:44.60\00:11:49.14
that when the light bulb
went on, I could begin to see
00:11:49.17\00:11:53.14
all of these other
things now in the room
00:11:53.17\00:11:54.81
that I couldn't see before.
00:11:54.84\00:11:56.18
Were they always there?
00:11:56.41\00:11:57.75
Of course they
were always there.

But I couldn't see
them as clearly before.

And so, that seems to be similar
to what you're describing.

Similar to what I went through.

The Sabbath was kind of,
the truth of the Sabbath was

kind of a doorway opened
to a lot of these other truths

that were always there,
but I didn't understand or know

in its completeness.

And when you
understand the Sabbath truth,

you start to see that
God's law is unchangeable,

it's eternal.

And then you start to
see, you know, different truths

that really dovetail into that.

As you learn about what
happens when someone dies,

grave awaiting the second coming

of Jesus, you see
how that's harmonious

when Jesus comes and the dead

will be raised from the ground.

It fits together.

And so, as I learned
these three angels' messages,

I thought to myself, this
is the most beautiful thing

I have seen in my life.

And I have to spend my
life sharing these messages.

I didn't know how, I
didn't know what that was

going to look like, I didn't
know if I was going to be a

traditional
pastor, an evangelist.

I definitely wasn't
thinking YouTube evangelist.

~ Which we'll probably
talk about in just a moment.

But I knew that God
had a calling on my life

to share these messages.

~ Yes. It was very
clear, I think, early on.

And this is the first
time I've met you in person,

but I've known about
you, I've heard about you.

I think it was several years
ago, I think it was back in like
00:13:22.50\00:13:24.97
might have been 2016 or
2017, my brother, Dakota...

Which for those of
you who don't know,

myself and my brother
Dakota, I was an Amazing Facts
00:13:30.77\00:13:33.61
evangelist for many
years, and my brother Dakota
00:13:33.64\00:13:35.68
came in a few years after me.
00:13:35.71\00:13:37.08
But right when
Dakota was kind of coming in
00:13:37.11\00:13:39.41
the door, at the beginning,
I remember him saying,
00:13:39.45\00:13:41.58
"Yeah, I'm going out to Texas.
00:13:41.62\00:13:42.95
I met this guy, his
name is Dustin Pestlin."

And I think he was
doing maybe some trainings,

evangelistic training,
or something at your church.
00:13:47.86\00:13:49.99
And he kept telling
me, "Dustin called me.
00:13:50.09\00:13:51.59
Dustin's talking to me.
Dustin's really serious."

And I remember hearing
your name many, many times
00:13:53.36\00:13:56.16
about how there's this
guy, Dustin Pestlin, in Texas
00:13:56.20\00:13:59.30
who is just on
fire for the Lord.
00:13:59.33\00:14:01.47
And I remember
Dakota saying to me, like,
00:14:01.50\00:14:03.30
"Man, this guy is
going to do something.
00:14:03.34\00:14:04.67
I just sense it, like
he's just on fire for God."
00:14:04.71\00:14:07.48
And so, praise the
Lord, man, that God can do

marvelous things in
our life if we are willing.

And you certainly were.

that faithfulness.

But sometimes that
will come with tests.

Because after I accepted,
you know, these truths,

I remember one night
this same young lady,

her and I drove
to prayer meeting.

And as we were sitting
in the car, she looks at me

and she says, "You know
you shouldn't be playing
00:14:41.71\00:14:43.55
basketball on
the Sabbath, right?"
00:14:43.58\00:14:45.25
~ And it just, it hit me
like a ton of bricks, Ryan.

It was like my stomach
dropped, my heart dropped to the
00:14:49.35\00:14:53.25
bottom of my
stomach, it felt like.
00:14:53.29\00:14:55.16
And I was just overwhelmed
with conviction, with emotion.

I asked her to leave the
car, I needed some time alone.

And I just, I wept.

I battled with
God because I knew

that I had to make a decision.

And I made the decision
that I would put God first,

that I would not
play on the Sabbath,

and I never
regret that decision.

I know I've said this.

But your story is different
but very similar to mine,

in the sense that I had a
strong love for basketball.

I played basketball
all growing in my youth.

And then, when did God decide
to send me the Sabbath truth?

When I was coaching basketball.
00:15:31.56\00:15:33.19
And when do all
the games happen?
00:15:33.40\00:15:35.06
Every Saturday.
00:15:35.10\00:15:36.46
So, I can relate to the love,
that passion for basketball.

When that confliction
comes, what are we going to do?
00:15:40.37\00:15:42.54
Are we going to make
a decision for Christ

and say, "Lord, we
know You know what's best."

Or are we going to give
in to that worldly desire?

~ Absolutely.

And really, for all of
us the test looks different.

You know, for some
people it's that job.

For some people
it's their family,

their wife, their husband.
00:15:56.69\00:15:58.12
But God's way is always better.

By following
God, by honoring God,

it will always lead
to your best interest,

your true happiness.

And it will be better for others
because they will see your

example, and they'll see that
you're taking a stand for God.

But what were you doing
in those years leading up?

decision to follow the Lord.

But there were a few years
there before this came along.

What was God using you to do
in that intermittent time period

between when you gave
your heart to the Lord,

to fully commit
to Him and His truth,

and when you started
the YouTube ministry?

What where you
doing then at that time?

~ Well that's a
very good question.

The first thing after I
was baptized, I kind of,

I fell into a little bit
of a trap that some new people

that are baptized fall into.

And I got a
little bit comfortable.

You know, I didn't dive
right into ministry right away.

But then we had a
new pastor come in.

And he said, "Dustin, I think
you should try colporting."

And so, I did a
summer of colporting.

Colporting is basically
going door to door selling

It can be a very trying
experience because sometimes

you get doors slammed on you.

~ It's really a
test of faith. - It is.

But that summer was really,
monumental in my Christian walk,

I was with a lot of
people who were very serious

about their walk, very
serious about the counsels from,

you know, the gift of
prophecy, from the Bible.

And I started to
really learn what it means

to be a Seventh-day
Adventist Christian.
00:17:39.12\00:17:40.92
And so, I began to
