Thank you 00:01:07.33\00:01:10.03 for joining us as you do each and every day and thank you for 00:01:10.07\00:01:13.20 your love and your prayers and financial support of 3ABN as we 00:01:13.23\00:01:17.31 endeavor to take this great gospel into all the world. 00:01:17.34\00:01:22.34 (Danny Shelton) Today speaking of taking the gospel into all 00:01:22.38\00:01:23.71 the world, I am so privileged to be here with Castle Valley 00:01:23.75\00:01:28.52 Academy way out in the state of Utah. And so we have a bunch of 00:01:28.55\00:01:34.76 young folk on here and we got an old folk and then one in between 00:01:34.79\00:01:38.16 and then some young folks. Speaking of that we have the 00:01:38.19\00:01:41.36 President Craig Cleveland. We're so glad you're here. (Good to be 00:01:41.40\00:01:46.37 here) You're no stranger to 3ABN and our viewers I'm sure. And so 00:01:46.40\00:01:51.04 Well, why don't we got ahead, We'll introduce the students but 00:01:51.07\00:01:54.88 then what I'd like to do is for maybe you to give us some 00:01:54.91\00:01:58.35 background on Castle Valley. 00:01:58.38\00:02:00.02 Sure, sure. This is Alani Holcombe, a senior, and Emma 00:02:00.05\00:02:01.38 Driesen, a senior. And we have Nathaniel Livingston, a junior, 00:02:04.29\00:02:09.09 and then Ben Cowden, a junior. Kansas, Montana, Montana, 00:02:09.12\00:02:13.83 Montana. It's a little heavy on Montana this morning. 00:02:13.86\00:02:15.96 All right, glad you all are here And those of you at home, we're 00:02:16.00\00:02:20.07 glad that you're here. This is an incredible story that they 00:02:20.10\00:02:23.30 have, an incredible Academy and today if there were ever a time 00:02:23.34\00:02:27.04 that we need institutions, Adventist educational 00:02:27.08\00:02:31.41 institutions that are literally living by the Bible, not looking 00:02:31.45\00:02:36.48 to the left, not looking to the right, not worried about the 00:02:36.52\00:02:40.02 world and what the world is doing but concentrating on 00:02:40.06\00:02:43.19 taking the gospel to the world, this is the time, so you may 00:02:43.22\00:02:46.96 want to listen and watch and maybe you're a young person who 00:02:47.00\00:02:50.40 is watching, maybe even grandma or the parent or grandma and 00:02:50.43\00:02:54.37 grandpa, you're saying wow I think that's where I'd like to 00:02:54.40\00:02:56.27 send my student. We're going to find out if they've got room to 00:02:56.30\00:02:59.37 take anymore and I think we're going to find the answer is yes 00:02:59.41\00:03:02.38 here in just a little bit. But Mr. Craig tell us a little bit 00:03:02.41\00:03:07.42 about Castle Valley. 00:03:07.45\00:03:08.78 Well the most important thing about true education is knowing 00:03:08.82\00:03:11.59 Jesus. Making Jesus attractive to the students and letting them 00:03:11.62\00:03:16.76 find an exciting adventure with Him and then giving them an 00:03:16.79\00:03:19.89 opportunity to get out and share So we have so many stories we 00:03:19.93\00:03:22.20 just got to get on with that. We also are told on page 17 in the 00:03:22.23\00:03:26.17 book Education to train thinkers not reflectors of other people's 00:03:26.20\00:03:29.64 thoughts and so we want to share with you our plan to make that 00:03:29.67\00:03:34.11 happen. 00:03:34.14\00:03:35.61 Okay. Wonderful. The background of Castle Valley, how long... 00:03:35.64\00:03:40.02 It started in 1970 and had many different growth spurts you 00:03:40.05\00:03:45.25 might say along the way. We're excited to see a focus on media 00:03:45.29\00:03:49.82 and growth. We're rebuilding the boys' dormitory. We want to see 00:03:49.86\00:03:53.46 60 students as soon as we can. And the Lord's opened ways for 00:03:53.50\00:03:56.97 that to happen and we're excited about that. And we're also 00:03:57.00\00:03:59.63 building three new staff homes because we got new staff joining 00:03:59.67\00:04:02.44 us. So we're excited that God has a plan to see more young 00:04:02.47\00:04:07.11 people trained and soon. 00:04:07.14\00:04:09.54 Okay, now what we're going to do right before we get into the 00:04:09.58\00:04:12.98 rest of the interview I want somebody to explain maybe one 00:04:13.01\00:04:16.05 of the students scripture songs, about your scripture singers. 00:04:16.08\00:04:19.52 tell me a little bit about what we're getting ready to see. 00:04:19.55\00:04:22.49 Who's, where's Ben? You look like you know, you look like you 00:04:22.52\00:04:27.93 know everything so tell me...I think we got a smart kid here. 00:04:27.96\00:04:32.43 (Ben Cowden) Scripture singer is an app that you can listen to 00:04:32.47\00:04:36.97 many scripture songs the entire book of Matthew is on there, 00:04:37.01\00:04:40.78 the entire book of James and with many others. We also have a 00:04:40.81\00:04:43.55 YouTube channel on which we have many great videos. 00:04:43.58\00:04:47.82 Okay so we're going to go to one of those scripture songs right 00:04:47.85\00:04:50.02 now. Okay. 00:04:50.05\00:04:52.65 John 6:63 The words that I speak unto you they are Spirit and 00:04:52.69\00:05:01.96 they are life. The words that I speak unto you they are Spirit 00:05:02.00\00:05:08.54 and they are life. It is the Spirit that quickeneth 00:05:08.57\00:05:16.48 The flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you they 00:05:16.51\00:05:23.79 are Spirit and they are life. John 6:63 The words I speak they 00:05:23.82\00:05:31.39 are Spirit and they are life. 00:05:31.43\00:05:41.30 Hey everybody we're so glad you enjoyed this video. If you'd 00:05:41.34\00:05:43.14 like to enjoy hundreds more scripture songs just download 00:05:43.17\00:05:45.64 our free app Scripture Singer and thanks for watching. 00:05:45.67\00:05:48.68 All right beautiful that's great So now you're continuing to do 00:05:48.71\00:05:58.12 these videos right. (Yeah) Okay now I want to find out why you 00:05:58.15\00:06:03.26 all decided to go to Castle Valley. There's a lot of options 00:06:03.29\00:06:04.63 so Ben why don't we start with you. 00:06:04.66\00:06:06.26 Okay well I came to Castle Valley because of the music. 00:06:06.29\00:06:11.70 Music has been a huge part of my life since I was very little and 00:06:11.73\00:06:15.54 I was greatly inspired frankly when at Fountain View Academy 00:06:15.57\00:06:22.01 and when I 00:06:22.04\00:06:23.98 heard that he was at Castle Valley I jumped at the chance 00:06:24.01\00:06:27.38 to go. 00:06:27.42\00:06:28.85 Okay, where are you from? 00:06:28.88\00:06:30.22 I'm from Kansas. 00:06:30.25\00:06:31.59 Okay so that's a little bit of difference flat Kansas compared 00:06:31.62\00:06:35.59 to Utah, right? 00:06:35.62\00:06:36.96 The scenery is awesome. 00:06:36.99\00:06:38.66 It is absolutely fabulous. All right do we want to go on down 00:06:38.69\00:06:42.30 the line. 00:06:42.33\00:06:43.67 Last year I actually did attend Fountain View Academy. 00:06:43.70\00:06:48.80 (Nathaniel Livingston) But because of issues at the border 00:06:48.84\00:06:50.17 I was praying and God opened the way for me to go to Castle 00:06:50.21\00:06:53.41 Valley and it's been a huge blessing and I'm really glad I 00:06:53.44\00:06:56.38 was able to come here. Went into a lot of stuff with Craig and 00:06:56.41\00:07:00.62 with the curriculum and getting to work on the farm and in the 00:07:00.65\00:07:04.59 shop and those places. All the new friends and being able to 00:07:04.62\00:07:08.16 grow spiritually. I've never been as close to God as I have 00:07:08.19\00:07:12.29 here at Castle Valley so it's a huge blessing. 00:07:12.33\00:07:15.16 My name is Emma. I'm from Montana and I came to Castle 00:07:15.20\00:07:21.24 Valley Academy mainly because of the great program that they have 00:07:21.27\00:07:23.34 They have a different approach to learning that I really like 00:07:23.37\00:07:27.08 and also the music program. Also we do a lot of outreach and 00:07:27.11\00:07:30.71 evangelism and colporteuring so that was the reasons I decided 00:07:30.75\00:07:33.31 to come here. 00:07:33.35\00:07:34.68 Okay, Alani (Holcombe). 00:07:34.72\00:07:36.05 I'm also from Montana and I came because his mama told me that 00:07:36.08\00:07:40.96 there's a cool school at Castle Valley. Okay, I'll check it out. 00:07:40.99\00:07:43.53 And then I found out they have a really big canvassing program 00:07:43.56\00:07:46.39 and I'd canvassed this last summer and I had such a blast 00:07:46.43\00:07:50.53 I said if I can get a school, learn in a new way and also go 00:07:50.57\00:07:56.40 canvassing that sounds fun, let's do it. 00:07:56.44\00:07:58.44 That was a great testimony I mean honestly. I think we have a 00:07:58.47\00:08:03.45 video. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Have you 00:08:03.48\00:08:05.65 heard that. I don't know what a video would be, maybe a hundred 00:08:05.68\00:08:08.28 thousand words, but let's go to the video right now. 00:08:08.32\00:08:11.85 Our school is surrounded with the iconic beauty of the red 00:08:11.89\00:08:15.86 rock mesas, hyasol mountains and the Colorado River. Here on 00:08:15.89\00:08:21.43 earth we all can tell time won't last much longer, Jesus soon 00:08:21.46\00:08:27.47 come. So we ask the question what is important to our young 00:08:27.50\00:08:31.57 people right now. We believe the answer is they need an 00:08:31.61\00:08:34.94 experience with the amazing love of Jesus for themselves. They 00:08:34.98\00:08:39.58 find that in the study of the Bible. They need to share this 00:08:39.61\00:08:44.25 experience with others. But to share with others they need to 00:08:44.29\00:08:47.82 understand everything they believe and to understand 00:08:47.86\00:08:50.06 everything they believe they need time to deeply study God's 00:08:50.09\00:08:54.83 Holy Word. Our program trains our young people to share Jesus 00:08:54.86\00:08:59.03 wherever they are. In music, meeting people in the community 00:08:59.07\00:09:04.21 and selling truth-filled books door to door, through Bible 00:09:04.24\00:09:07.11 studies, furthering their education. It's all exciting. 00:09:07.14\00:09:10.15 But to do this we need to take a new approach to learning that 00:09:10.18\00:09:13.45 puts our young people into the mode of thinking for themselves. 00:09:13.48\00:09:17.29 As they discover the ever expanding deep truths of God in 00:09:17.32\00:09:21.62 science and inspiration. 00:09:21.66\00:09:23.56 Luke Cook Industries Director 00:09:23.59\00:09:27.36 Anyone who has seen what is happening in our world today 00:09:27.40\00:09:30.97 knows that we need hope now more than ever. What if there was a 00:09:31.00\00:09:35.14 place where young people could come and be trained so that when 00:09:35.17\00:09:39.27 they left they would know how to rapidly establish gardens, grow 00:09:39.31\00:09:43.58 food, preserve food and be a blessing for life in any 00:09:43.61\00:09:48.08 community where God takes them. It's so fun when young people 00:09:48.12\00:09:51.02 know how to make healthy soil and then grow organic veggies 00:09:51.05\00:09:55.19 potatoes, melons, etc., and then take that food and can it, 00:09:55.22\00:10:00.00 dehydrate it, freeze dry it. Young people who are trained in 00:10:00.03\00:10:06.27 CPR and first aid. It's like sending out community survival 00:10:06.30\00:10:10.07 experts into any place to be leaders. This is our vision and 00:10:10.11\00:10:15.51 this is what is happening here at Castle Valley Academy. 00:10:15.54\00:10:18.45 (Anita Cook, girls dean) Our desire here is to create a warm 00:10:18.48\00:10:22.65 loving atmosphere, a home away from home in which every student 00:10:22.68\00:10:26.45 is heard, valued, and appreciated Here students and 00:10:26.49\00:10:31.89 staff depend on one another as we work together. We realize the 00:10:31.93\00:10:36.16 importance of staying in close contact with parents and as a 00:10:36.20\00:10:40.17 dean, I consider it a great honor and privilege to be 00:10:40.20\00:10:43.30 entrusted with your most precious treasures. I do not 00:10:43.34\00:10:45.97 take this responsibility lightly. By God's grace I will 00:10:46.01\00:10:50.31 be their mom away from home. 00:10:50.35\00:10:51.68 (Jason Strack, principal) There is a saying that if you give a 00:10:51.71\00:10:54.75 person a fish you'll feed them for a day. But if you teach them 00:10:54.78\00:10:58.72 how to fish then you'll feed them for a lifetime. Well it's 00:10:58.75\00:11:04.59 also true in education. If you teach someone some facts they 00:11:04.63\00:11:09.33 learn for the test. But if you teach them how to learn for 00:11:09.36\00:11:14.30 themselves, to think for themselves, they learn for a 00:11:14.34\00:11:18.11 lifetime. At Castle Valley Academy we train thinkers, not 00:11:18.14\00:11:26.38 thinkers of the worldly sort but thinkers that gain their reason 00:11:26.41\00:11:32.22 from the Bible. There is no curriculum calculated to lift 00:11:32.25\00:11:36.49 men higher than the word of God. With the Holy Spirit as our 00:11:36.52\00:11:40.96 teacher the wisdom of man becomes foolishness and we 00:11:41.00\00:11:46.40 become wise unto salvation. We are seeking that highest of all 00:11:46.43\00:11:51.21 educations and we have the most incredible classroom, the 00:11:51.24\00:11:58.08 exquisite outdoors. We study from God's book of nature first 00:11:58.11\00:12:01.88 hand. Learning becomes connected to reality instead of just 00:12:01.92\00:12:06.09 theories, a book. Biology becomes alive in the garden. 00:12:06.12\00:12:11.46 Physics is experienced when repelling on the mountains, 00:12:11.49\00:12:15.33 riding dirt bikes through the desert and rafting on the rivers 00:12:15.36\00:12:19.93 God's presence seems nearer while enjoying the views from 00:12:19.97\00:12:25.14 the mountain tops. Math is real when you plan how much mulch you 00:12:25.17\00:12:30.55 need to cover the flower beds. The water cycle becomes 00:12:30.58\00:12:35.25 practical when you see how much less water those flowers need 00:12:35.28\00:12:38.09 when they're mulched. Chemistry is applied in the kitchen. 00:12:38.12\00:12:41.99 English is real when you preach that sermon that you wrote. We 00:12:42.02\00:12:48.53 don't measure students' learning by the time they spend in class. 00:12:48.56\00:12:52.07 No. We evaluate our students by the competence they show in real 00:12:52.10\00:12:58.14 life skills and knowledge. To reach targets that we have hand 00:12:58.17\00:13:03.38 selected to train students for true greatness. 00:13:03.41\00:13:09.88 ¤ ¤ 00:13:09.92\00:13:12.55 Amen, boy what an incredible video. Who put that together for 00:13:12.59\00:13:16.36 you? My son Ethan. 00:13:16.39\00:13:18.06 Oh wow, let him know I thought he did a great job on it. No 00:13:18.09\00:13:23.03 it's amazing some of the stuff that y'all do there. It's not 00:13:23.06\00:13:25.10 not like your normal when I think Academy. Way back, you 00:13:25.13\00:13:31.21 probably haven't even hear dates this far back in 1967 to 1968, I 00:13:31.24\00:13:35.04 went one year to Wisconsin Academy. It was very cold up 00:13:35.08\00:13:38.51 there because we're several hundred miles south of there. 00:13:38.55\00:13:40.48 It gets cold here but not like that and I worked on the farm. 00:13:40.52\00:13:43.89 But it was 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. We didn't have any of that stuff 00:13:43.92\00:13:48.52 you know that you have there. So you've got recreation that looks 00:13:48.56\00:13:51.63 like it's out of sight but your farming is incredible with what 00:13:51.66\00:13:55.00 you do. I mean Craig what an incredible place. I have a 00:13:55.03\00:14:00.37 feeling there's a lot of students right now watching this 00:14:00.40\00:14:01.74 that say I think I'm going to take a closer look at Castle 00:14:01.77\00:14:03.94 Valley. 00:14:03.97\00:14:06.34 Yeah well we hope they do and we do have a beautiful farm and God 00:14:06.37\00:14:09.31 has blessed us a lot. In fact, we just had funds come in to put 00:14:09.34\00:14:12.08 irrigation on 70 more acres of that farm. And Alani tell us 00:14:12.11\00:14:17.09 about it. You guys, what do you like about the farm. 00:14:17.12\00:14:19.72 The farm is really cool. So it has about 320 acres or our whole 00:14:19.75\00:14:26.03 property for the farm. We have potatoes about 33-37 varieties 00:14:26.06\00:14:33.10 of potatoes. We have a student greenhouse where we grow all 00:14:33.13\00:14:38.34 different veggies of our choosing. We get to choose. 00:14:38.37\00:14:39.71 And the students get to learn how to grow the food. We each 00:14:39.74\00:14:43.81 have like our own sections and we can choose what we want 00:14:43.85\00:14:47.05 to plant and they teach us how to grow it and how to take care 00:14:47.08\00:14:49.18 of stuff. And then we also work in the bigger greenhouse to 00:14:49.22\00:14:54.22 Produce, produce that we actually we sell for the school. 00:14:54.26\00:14:56.66 Not only do we work in the student greenhouse and the main 00:14:56.69\00:15:00.60 greenhouse. We also do micro greens which is a lot of fun. 00:15:00.63\00:15:02.96 And then we have our orchard. 00:15:03.00\00:15:05.80 And don't forget the cucumbers too. They're like in the back of 00:15:05.83\00:15:09.80 of the greenhouse where we have the tomatoes. We have cucumbers 00:15:09.84\00:15:12.07 and they get like huge like... Some of them we save for seed 00:15:12.11\00:15:14.68 and some of them like you don't see them because they're under 00:15:14.71\00:15:18.05 like all the leaves and then you find them like two days later 00:15:18.08\00:15:19.85 and they're like literally this big. I like that for a monster 00:15:19.88\00:15:23.65 size one. 00:15:23.69\00:15:25.02 You're out in the desert I understand. Where do you get 00:15:25.05\00:15:27.49 your water from? 00:15:27.52\00:15:32.56 Yeah we actually have three ponds on campus and then we have 00:15:32.59\00:15:33.93 an artesian well that supplies all our water. 00:15:33.96\00:15:35.30 An artesian well? 00:15:35.33\00:15:37.07 Several, several. We also have first rights on the creek as we 00:15:37.10\00:15:41.70 have a huge supply that comes more than three miles down the 00:15:41.74\00:15:44.34 mountain, that's 12-inch pipe. 00:15:44.37\00:15:46.11 The water's not a problem. 00:15:46.14\00:15:48.51 Yeah and it's really good water too. (Oh it's the best) 00:15:48.54\00:15:51.38 Through a real miracle, we have actually become the largest 00:15:51.41\00:15:56.69 organic seed potato farm in North America. Somebody talked 00:15:56.72\00:15:59.92 about 37 varieties it's not just a couple of potatoes here and 00:15:59.95\00:16:02.99 there It's acres and acres of seed potatoes. It's a real 00:16:03.02\00:16:07.66 miracle. So what do you do with all those potatoes? 00:16:07.70\00:16:09.03 Sell them as seed. (Okay) Yeah. 00:16:09.06\00:16:11.73 And we just recently got a really big harvester that we're 00:16:11.77\00:16:14.60 going to harvest potatoes and that's going to be a lot of fun. 00:16:14.64\00:16:16.30 Talking about fun. Maybe I should tell them about some of 00:16:16.34\00:16:20.04 of the things we like to do when we aren't busy in class or out 00:16:20.08\00:16:23.88 on the farm. 00:16:23.91\00:16:26.08 So we have lots of activities at the school. We're never really 00:16:26.11\00:16:27.98 bored. We do lots of things. We have rafting. We have a rafting 00:16:28.02\00:16:33.25 launch by our school and we have quads and dirt bikes and horses. 00:16:33.29\00:16:36.46 We have a really neat horse program. You can bring your own 00:16:36.49\00:16:38.29 if you have a horse. I brought my own horse, yes. I love horses 00:16:38.33\00:16:41.86 Also, bring your own quads and dirt bikes. And if you have a 00:16:41.90\00:16:45.47 trike you can bring that too. And unicycles are also an option 00:16:45.50\00:16:46.87 and bikes too. You can bring you own bike. 00:16:46.90\00:16:49.17 Often times we use quads and dirt bikes just to ride around 00:16:49.20\00:16:54.81 campus. There's different like trails and jumps around campus 00:16:54.84\00:16:57.61 that we can use. We have Castleton Trail which is 00:16:57.65\00:16:59.85 close to our 00:16:59.88\00:17:01.22 school that we can take our quads and dirt bikes on and 00:17:01.25\00:17:02.95 mountain bikes too if that's what you're into. 00:17:02.98\00:17:04.89 We also have like a really cool thing and we live like in 00:17:04.92\00:17:08.82 a beautiful area with lots of red rocks that we do rock 00:17:08.86\00:17:11.39 climbing and repelling. So that's another cool thing. 00:17:11.43\00:17:13.23 And you know what was really fun is for the boys campout that we 00:17:13.26\00:17:17.97 we went up to Recapture Reservoir and then we had 00:17:18.00\00:17:19.77 everybody have like a quad or dirt bike and then we'd go up 00:17:19.80\00:17:24.14 into the mountains and we'd literally, go for like miles and 00:17:24.17\00:17:26.68 miles of trails and we'd just keep going and going. It's a lot 00:17:26.71\00:17:30.51 of fun especially if you run out of gas or pop tires. You lose 00:17:30.55\00:17:33.42 your way on the trail and then you have to go to the highway 00:17:33.45\00:17:36.02 and you have to go to the station and then you have to 00:17:36.05\00:17:37.72 find your way back home. It's a lot of fun. 00:17:37.75\00:17:39.09 Yeah it's a lot of fun being a student there. A lot of wake 00:17:39.12\00:17:43.63 boarding that we do too. It was still nearly a hundred degrees 00:17:43.66\00:17:46.49 We're in a very desert, warm, warm area. But it is exciting 00:17:46.53\00:17:51.93 I think though even more exciting that getting out in 00:17:51.97\00:17:56.60 nature, repelling, or rafting like we've talked about, camping 00:17:56.64\00:18:00.44 out there is learning about Jesus and sharing Him with 00:18:00.48\00:18:04.95 others. And we love to do that in music. We love to get out 00:18:04.98\00:18:09.28 on the road. 00:18:09.32\00:18:10.65 We're booked for concert tours all over California, Washington, 00:18:10.69\00:18:12.29 and Idaho and all the way out to Washington, D.C. up to Minnesota 00:18:12.32\00:18:15.72 and so on and we're excited about that. The kids that really 00:18:15.76\00:18:22.10 the Lord sent us a very talented group, four of them are sitting 00:18:22.13\00:18:23.47 right here. But even on tour more than sharing the music we 00:18:23.50\00:18:29.27 like to get out and go door to door. And it was something we 00:18:29.30\00:18:33.54 planned to do but then our industries director Luke Cook 00:18:33.58\00:18:37.95 and I were out fundraising with our wives back in April and we 00:18:37.98\00:18:41.12 asked a donor if they would help us expand our bakery because we 00:18:41.15\00:18:44.82 have a beautiful bakery, we grow grow (laughs) make lots of sour 00:18:44.85\00:18:50.09 dough bread and specialty bread and so we were talking about 00:18:50.13\00:18:53.50 that, the needs there, and this donor said well wait a minute 00:18:53.53\00:18:55.96 do you like the book The Great Controversy and I'm like ah yes 00:18:56.00\00:19:00.64 I've read it many times. It's wonderful. He said well how 00:19:00.67\00:19:03.04 about a semi-load of those and it's worth twice what you 00:19:03.07\00:19:04.77 asked me for. So anyway with all those books we have one goal 00:19:04.81\00:19:07.44 and that's to get rid of them all and I think we should talk 00:19:07.48\00:19:10.45 about some of those experiences because we've seen miracles. 00:19:10.48\00:19:14.32 door to door. 00:19:14.35\00:19:15.68 Yeah canvassing is always fun because it's a way to not only 00:19:15.72\00:19:18.19 get to know the fellow student you're working with and go 00:19:18.22\00:19:21.89 through you know fun experiences kind of scary experiences 00:19:21.92\00:19:25.29 with them but also to be able to experience Jesus moments 00:19:25.33\00:19:29.93 with them and make relationships with the people at the door. 00:19:29.96\00:19:35.14 That's so much fun. 00:19:35.17\00:19:36.81 We really enjoy going outdoor to door because it's a way that 00:19:36.84\00:19:41.94 we as sinners can be really grounded in our faith and you 00:19:41.98\00:19:44.81 know just believing something having gone out sharing about it 00:19:44.85\00:19:47.98 and actually sharing it with somebody. It's a totally 00:19:48.02\00:19:51.25 different experience when you can share your faith it 00:19:51.29\00:19:54.12 strengthens you and it helps you to gain strength in many ways. 00:19:54.16\00:19:56.96 There's a lot of divine appointments too. Like you pray 00:19:56.99\00:20:00.13 something, Lord help this to happen, help me to be able to 00:20:00.16\00:20:04.30 connect with this person and then it seems like it's not 00:20:04.33\00:20:06.84 working out at all and then it just totally turns around and 00:20:06.87\00:20:09.34 God just leads and it's amazing how He just goes forward with 00:20:09.37\00:20:11.91 that. 00:20:11.94\00:20:14.01 We have a few stories of how God has led. (Absolutely) 00:20:14.04\00:20:16.34 Which shall I tell first, the one about the food or the one 00:20:16.38\00:20:20.28 about the (Unclear) 00:20:20.32\00:20:23.35 So two of our students were canvassing out in Moab which 00:20:23.39\00:20:27.72 is just 00:20:27.76\00:20:29.09 outside of where we live in Castle Valley. Two students went 00:20:29.12\00:20:30.73 up to a house, a trailer park I believe it was and they went 00:20:30.76\00:20:35.66 and knocked on the door and the lady they got to talking and 00:20:35.70\00:20:39.37 they said this is our last meal today because we don't have 00:20:39.40\00:20:42.70 enough food. And one of the young ladies said hey can we 00:20:42.74\00:20:48.11 pray with you? And the woman at the door says sure. And so 00:20:48.14\00:20:50.75 during the prayer one of them, her name's Isadora, she had this 00:20:50.78\00:20:57.02 urge to go get food for them. And we had produce with us from 00:20:57.05\00:20:58.75 our farm and they gave them what they had at hand. So we all got 00:20:58.79\00:21:03.53 in the van, our leader picked us up and Isadora said can we go 00:21:03.56\00:21:08.30 get food for them? Yeah, let's go get food. So we did it, we 00:21:08.33\00:21:11.43 went and bought food for them and we went back. And Nathaniel 00:21:11.47\00:21:18.01 and myself and Emma canvassed in Montana this summer and we sang 00:21:18.04\00:21:19.41 at doors. So we said, (gasps) we should sing some of our choir 00:21:19.44\00:21:21.44 songs for them at the door. And so we went to her house and gave 00:21:21.48\00:21:26.41 food that we had bought for her and she was crying and we prayed 00:21:26.45\00:21:29.08 with her and we sang one of our songs. And we went back that 00:21:29.12\00:21:32.82 same I think two weeks, a week or two weeks for her (two weeks) 00:21:32.85\00:21:38.29 and sang for her again and gave her some more produce that we 00:21:38.33\00:21:39.66 had and it was really, really great experiences for them and 00:21:39.69\00:21:43.23 for us. 00:21:43.26\00:21:44.60 Incredible. 00:21:44.63\00:21:46.94 One of the really neat things about the person who was 00:21:46.97\00:21:49.60 selling Great Controversies that have the commission to get them 00:21:49.64\00:21:50.97 out before Jesus comes back. And so that's our goal, just to 00:21:51.67\00:21:54.74 get these books into the community and then another thing 00:21:54.78\00:21:58.21 about having books that are donated is that we can give them 00:21:58.25\00:22:00.22 away to the people who can't afford to buy them from us 00:22:00.25\00:22:02.65 because they're broke. So we have lots of really neat 00:22:02.68\00:22:06.89 experiences 00:22:06.92\00:22:08.26 with that. One of the one that I would like to share with you 00:22:08.29\00:22:10.53 actually happened when we were on music tour because when we go 00:22:10.56\00:22:13.40 on tour we actually take books with us and we go canvassing 00:22:13.43\00:22:16.53 in the towns that we stay in which is really great because we 00:22:16.56\00:22:20.67 get Bible study interests for the churches that we're staying 00:22:20.70\00:22:23.87 in. And so this particular day we were canvassing near Rifle 00:22:23.91\00:22:29.18 and we were just walking to the doors like we do always and we 00:22:29.21\00:22:32.18 kept on hearing this loud music coming from somewhere around 00:22:32.21\00:22:34.98 town. 00:22:35.02\00:22:36.35 The interesting thing before that we were originally supposed 00:22:36.38\00:22:38.25 to stay at a church in a different town but for some 00:22:38.29\00:22:43.22 complications we weren't able to stay there so we had to go back 00:22:43.26\00:22:45.59 to Rifle where we had already canvassed. We'd already done our 00:22:45.63\00:22:49.36 thing but now we're back here even though we weren't supposed 00:22:49.40\00:22:51.23 to be. God brought us back there and then we figured out why 00:22:51.27\00:22:53.44 later. 00:22:53.47\00:22:55.94 Yeah so we were in this town that we'd already canvassed in 00:22:55.97\00:22:58.24 and we decided to canvas We said hey let's go and see where the 00:22:58.27\00:23:03.91 music is coming from. Let's canvas the party. And so we 00:23:03.95\00:23:05.91 drove to find where the music was coming from and it turned 00:23:05.95\00:23:07.92 out to be this big concert and so our canvassing leader was 00:23:07.95\00:23:11.09 how about I drop 00:23:11.12\00:23:12.45 two teams off and you guys can canvas just the people that are 00:23:12.49\00:23:15.22 going in or the people that are inside and so... 00:23:15.26\00:23:18.39 Why don't we hold it and I think we ought to maybe...this is an 00:23:18.43\00:23:24.03 awesome story and maybe can build some suspense by showing 00:23:24.07\00:23:30.21 another...Maybe we can show another video from Scripture 00:23:30.24\00:23:32.31 Singers and just say you know that it is true. It is really 00:23:32.34\00:23:35.98 awesome you know as we go touring you know we love to make 00:23:36.01\00:23:38.61 every concert a way to reach the community for every church. And 00:23:38.65\00:23:43.28 now...you know I've done that for all my life...but now to be 00:23:43.32\00:23:46.45 actually able to go knock on doors in the town selling truth 00:23:46.49\00:23:51.13 filled books and handing out flyers inviting people to the 00:23:51.16\00:23:53.86 concerts and then working with the church because we're 00:23:53.90\00:23:57.50 finding people who want to study the Bible. And so these kids ask 00:23:57.53\00:24:00.50 do you want to study the Bible? And so when we come tonight 00:24:00.54\00:24:04.57 we'll sing you about Jesus and there's people in this town that 00:24:04.61\00:24:06.91 want to study the Bible with you So it's just an awesome package 00:24:06.94\00:24:09.94 and it kind of exploded this one time in Rifle, Colorado, and I 00:24:09.98\00:24:14.28 think before we go on why don't we show another video because we 00:24:14.32\00:24:16.62 love to memorize the Bible too. It's just a big part of what 00:24:16.65\00:24:19.75 we do. 00:24:19.79\00:24:21.69 ¤ ¤ 2 Corinthians 5:21 Mark 8:34-36 00:24:21.72\00:24:25.29 He hath made him who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might 00:24:25.36\00:24:35.87 the righteousness of God, the righteousness of God in Him. 00:24:35.90\00:24:42.34 2nd Corinthians 5:21 He hath made Him who knew no sin to be 00:24:42.38\00:24:55.12 sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God, the 00:24:55.16\00:25:03.30 righteousness of God in Him. ¤ ¤ 00:25:03.33\00:25:19.05 Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself and take up 00:25:19.08\00:25:28.22 his cross and follow me. Mark 8:34-36. 00:26:07.13\00:26:20.31 Hey guys thanks so much for our video. If you want to 00:26:20.34\00:26:27.58 continue to memorize God's word then please check out our free 00:26:27.62\00:26:29.58 app. There are hundreds more scripture songs there and if you 00:26:29.62\00:26:32.32 aren't already subscribed to our channel then just please hit the 00:26:32.35\00:26:34.39 subscribe button and again thank you so much for watching our 00:26:34.42\00:26:37.03 video. 00:26:37.06\00:26:42.26 Amen, I love it. Now that's amazing that piano, I'm assuming 00:26:42.30\00:26:46.10 that's not a big heavy piano. That would be tough to get it 00:26:46.13\00:26:49.64 out there. But what an incredible experience to look at 00:26:49.67\00:26:53.88 all the scenery around you. You have to think about God. You 00:26:53.91\00:26:58.11 cannot help it. What a great way when you all go out and do these 00:26:58.15\00:27:00.35 scripture songs. Are most of these done outside, the videos. 00:27:00.38\00:27:04.62 (Yeah) It's just incredible because like I said when you see 00:27:04.65\00:27:08.09 all of that beautiful nature around you, I mean that puts you 00:27:08.12\00:27:12.36 right in the mood to worship. Then you hear these songs. 00:27:12.39\00:27:15.56 Incredible! But we were in a story about...we were going back 00:27:15.60\00:27:19.73 to Rifle, right Utah. Want to hear the end of this story. 00:27:19.77\00:27:22.57 Okay just to refresh everything we're in a town, weren't 00:27:22.60\00:27:27.64 supposed to be there. Supposed to be somewhere else, but anyway 00:27:27.68\00:27:29.04 and we're in the middle of canvassing and our leader pulls 00:27:29.08\00:27:31.31 up. 00:27:31.35\00:27:34.42 So our leader drops us off outside this big concert and 00:27:34.45\00:27:36.89 we're two teams. Me and Nathaniel were a team and 00:27:36.92\00:27:39.35 then another team got 00:27:39.39\00:27:40.79 dropped off with us as well and so we had to try to get in the 00:27:40.82\00:27:45.13 concert to try to canvass people inside. But we found out that 00:27:45.16\00:27:48.06 it was $100 per person to get in. (Have mercy) Also everybody 00:27:48.10\00:27:52.27 at the concert spoke Spanish. The band that was playing was 00:27:52.30\00:27:57.34 singing in Spanish. So me and Nathaniel, all our friends, 00:27:57.37\00:28:01.08 decided to see if they could get in to canvass people. So me and 00:28:01.11\00:28:05.58 Nathaniel walked away and started talking to some of the 00:28:05.61\00:28:06.95 people and then we turned around and they were inside 00:28:06.98\00:28:11.29 and we were like well how did they get inside. So I tried to 00:28:11.32\00:28:13.02 radio my friend but the music was loud and we couldn't hear 00:28:13.05\00:28:14.39 anything. And so we're standing outside the gate and Nathaniel 00:28:14.42\00:28:17.19 turns to me and he's like I have the best idea in the world. And 00:28:17.23\00:28:20.50 I was like Oh no what is he going to say now? And he's like 00:28:20.53\00:28:24.13 we should go up to the people backstage and ask them if we 00:28:24.17\00:28:26.87 can sing. We have a song that we sang called It Is Finished. And 00:28:26.90\00:28:31.11 it's just a really great song that talks about Jesus coming 00:28:31.14\00:28:32.87 back and the hope that we have. And so he's like we could sing 00:28:32.91\00:28:35.94 it up front and witness to all these people. The speakers were 00:28:35.98\00:28:39.31 loud everybody could hear us from like half way across town. 00:28:39.35\00:28:41.28 Imagine how many people we can reach. And I was like No way, 00:28:41.32\00:28:44.82 that's not going to happen. 00:28:44.85\00:28:49.49 At that point we eventually did get contact with the other team 00:28:49.52\00:28:53.16 again and we were like, How did you get in, what did you do? And 00:28:53.19\00:28:55.96 he's like We just asked someone We're like Oh okay, Well let's 00:28:56.00\00:28:59.27 just do that. So we go over the the entrance and walk up to 00:28:59.30\00:29:03.74 people and we're like we're here for the event and our friends 00:29:03.77\00:29:06.04 are already inside and they're like, Oh sure yeah come on in. 00:29:06.07\00:29:08.24 So he's like bring us on in, so it's like okay that works. So we 00:29:08.28\00:29:13.68 get inside and the other team they had vanished and we had no 00:29:13.72\00:29:17.39 idea where they were. So we went to try and find them. He brings 00:29:17.42\00:29:22.32 _ Eventually we did find them. And I walk up to one 00:29:22.36\00:29:27.23 of them, because It is Finished has a guy and a girl singing 00:29:27.26\00:29:29.53 it. And I 00:29:29.56\00:29:32.57 wasn't too sure if Emma would want to do it and I was like 00:29:32.60\00:29:35.44 Oh maybe she'll want to do it so I walk up to the other girl 00:29:35.47\00:29:39.17 and I'm like hey you want to do this with me. Like I know you'd 00:29:39.21\00:29:42.08 want to do it. You'd be willing. You'd go up there and then right 00:29:42.11\00:29:46.55 then Emma walks up and she's like Oh this guy is crazy, he's 00:29:46.58\00:29:48.68 out of his mind or whatever and she's like well what do you want 00:29:48.72\00:29:52.05 to do? Oh I just want to go up and say we'll sing to them. You 00:29:52.09\00:29:54.56 what!? So I'm like yeah I mean come on you should do it and 00:29:54.59\00:29:57.79 he's like no way I'm doing that! Okay fine then I'll do it by 00:29:57.83\00:30:01.33 myself. So I gave her the books that I had and then I walk over 00:30:01.36\00:30:04.17 to where the DJs, where the MCs were at the back right by the 00:30:04.20\00:30:08.67 stage and I don't speak Spanish The only thing I can say in 00:30:08.70\00:30:12.67 Spanish is actually that I don't know how to say it in Spanish. 00:30:12.71\00:30:15.01 So I walked over to them and in English I say Hi, I have a 00:30:15.04\00:30:19.98 question for you. And they were like yeah so. Could you do me a 00:30:20.02\00:30:25.05 favor, would it be okay if I went up on stage and sang for 00:30:25.09\00:30:28.02 my best friend? And he was like well I'm not the person to ask 00:30:28.06\00:30:30.13 for that. So I have to go over to these other people and...It 00:30:30.16\00:30:35.80 was like almost 10 different people that I had to ask and I 00:30:35.83\00:30:37.33 just kept asking and asking. Finally, I got to the point 00:30:37.37\00:30:40.17 where they were like Okay after this band's done then you can go 00:30:40.20\00:30:43.61 up and sing your song. 00:30:43.64\00:30:44.97 So me and the other team sat, we were watching him and just 00:30:45.01\00:30:48.34 wondering what was going to happen. And we saw him talk to 00:30:48.38\00:30:50.98 one person and talk to another person and finally he leaned up 00:30:51.01\00:30:53.82 against the gate that they have for back stage and he had 00:30:53.85\00:30:56.99 in his hand like I don't know they probably gave him water or 00:30:57.02\00:30:59.19 something. And so we just sat there. We were just praying and 00:30:59.22\00:31:02.46 like if this is Your will, please help it to be able to 00:31:02.49\00:31:04.33 happen. And then all of a sudden we hear the MC on stage speaking 00:31:04.36\00:31:09.73 in Spanish and they started talking about this boy who wants 00:31:09.76\00:31:12.17 to sing a song for his friend. And we're like no way, they're 00:31:12.20\00:31:14.60 not going to actually let him sing. And then he walked up on 00:31:14.64\00:31:16.87 stage And he doesn't speak Spanish so they were talking 00:31:16.91\00:31:20.38 about him in Spanish, no clue what they're saying. And so they 00:31:20.41\00:31:23.65 handed him a mic and he started singing the song It Is Finished, 00:31:23.68\00:31:26.72 a Capella, no backup music or anything. And the who stadium 00:31:26.75\00:31:31.42 was dead silent. There was at least 2000 people there. 00:31:31.45\00:31:34.12 Everybody was quiet. People stopped dancing and started 00:31:34.16\00:31:36.49 watching. And my friend and I were sitting in the bleachers 00:31:36.52\00:31:40.30 and she said, we gotta go, we gotta go and so she stands up 00:31:40.33\00:31:43.06 and she told Billy that she felt that God was just pulling her up 00:31:43.10\00:31:45.73 there and she couldn't stop it. And I love singing but I wasn't 00:31:45.77\00:31:48.87 just about to walk out and sing for all those people but I felt 00:31:48.90\00:31:52.47 like God was just pulling us up there. So we ran through the 00:31:52.51\00:31:55.94 crowd and got up and started singing and somebody handed us a 00:31:55.98\00:31:59.41 mic and we sang the whole song and people were just like 00:31:59.45\00:32:02.02 watching us and people even pulled out there phones and were 00:32:02.05\00:32:04.42 taking a video. And as we finished and walked off the people on stage started 00:32:04.45\00:32:10.56 talking about us in Spanish and they were like did you see that 00:32:10.59\00:32:12.43 they just evangelized us all. And Nathaniel had a bag of 00:32:12.46\00:32:17.97 garlic hanging off his pants because when we're colporteuring 00:32:18.00\00:32:21.84 we take produce from our farm to hand out to our people. Yeah 00:32:21.87\00:32:24.81 we had garlic, we had (multiple voices) that we grow it all on 00:32:24.84\00:32:28.18 our farm. And so they were like did you see that he had garlic 00:32:28.21\00:32:30.65 on his pant? He's an evangelist and a farmer. Yeah it was just 00:32:30.68\00:32:35.15 amazing and we were really thankful to see how God can lead 00:32:35.18\00:32:38.49 and one of the things that I just really learned from that 00:32:38.52\00:32:40.66 experience is that God can do so many things with us if we're 00:32:40.69\00:32:43.53 just willing. Because I'm not brave. I didn't have enough 00:32:43.56\00:32:47.33 faith but He just wanted us to be willing so He could use us. 00:32:47.36\00:32:50.03 Also going back a little bit into the story, when I was up 00:32:50.07\00:32:54.70 there singing, if you're familiar with the song It Is 00:32:54.74\00:32:57.74 Finished there's a part in it that says the earth shakes with 00:32:57.77\00:33:01.08 the force of the conflict. Because of how loud those 00:33:01.11\00:33:03.41 speakers were the earth literally did shake. I talked to 00:33:03.45\00:33:07.28 some other friends of mine who were canvassing somewhere all 00:33:07.32\00:33:10.69 the way across town, at least a mile or two away and I was 00:33:10.72\00:33:14.92 talking to him and he said yeah just out of nowhere, I hear 00:33:14.96\00:33:19.23 (sings) It Is Finished and I'm like Oh well that was pretty 00:33:19.26\00:33:21.30 cool because you know the speakers were so loud. And it 00:33:21.33\00:33:24.17 was just amazing. And I'm the type of person that I'm not 00:33:24.20\00:33:28.77 afraid to go up to someone and just say hi and just like start 00:33:28.80\00:33:30.27 talking to them. But you know something about going up on 00:33:30.31\00:33:33.61 stage in front of 2000 people singing a song a Capella that 00:33:33.64\00:33:37.21 was kind of daunting. But I just prayed Lord just give me peace 00:33:37.25\00:33:41.75 and give me strength and I wasn't even afraid at all. It 00:33:41.78\00:33:44.65 was like I was just singing to my family and it was amazing 00:33:44.69\00:33:47.39 It really strengthened my faith in God. 00:33:47.42\00:33:49.09 Right after that, we went out into the crowd and we just got 00:33:49.12\00:33:53.60 out our books in Spanish, we had Steps to Christ in Spanish 00:33:53.63\00:33:57.00 And we started canvassing people we made up a canvas for the 00:33:57.03\00:34:00.80 book in Spanish. And we just got out all our books. So that was 00:34:00.84\00:34:04.61 really amazing. 00:34:04.64\00:34:07.24 You see that's a great lesson for all of us for those at home 00:34:07.28\00:34:08.84 because when Jesus says go ye into all the world sometimes we 00:34:08.88\00:34:13.68 pick and choose what part, well we can't go here or okay this 00:34:13.72\00:34:17.95 looks good, let's go over here. But when you get out of your 00:34:17.99\00:34:21.76 comfort zone like you all were literally out of your comfort 00:34:21.79\00:34:24.93 zone but you said okay Lord and you kind of feel impressed to do 00:34:24.96\00:34:29.56 something and you do it, God will open the doors. And so you 00:34:29.60\00:34:34.24 know you weren't unkind, you didn't force your way, you asked 00:34:34.27\00:34:37.27 and you asked and you asked and you went through all the proper 00:34:37.31\00:34:41.48 channels and the Lord was just you know...Basically, I think 00:34:41.51\00:34:45.38 that's a challenge for each and every one of us. Oh well I can't 00:34:45.41\00:34:48.28 I have people say you know I just not good. You know you talk 00:34:48.32\00:34:52.72 a lot but I'm too quiet, I can't you know I can't witness to 00:34:52.75\00:34:56.89 people and one guy, a friend of mine, I said you told me all 00:34:56.93\00:35:00.83 about your new car but you can't tell me about Jesus. You know in 00:35:00.86\00:35:05.20 other words people we do what we want to do. So thank you, this 00:35:05.23\00:35:07.57 is great. So we got to hear some more. I want to talk a little 00:35:07.60\00:35:11.47 bit about your building projects but whatever else we got here 00:35:11.51\00:35:15.41 this is good. 00:35:15.44\00:35:17.71 Yeah, we definitely want to keep those stories going but God is 00:35:17.75\00:35:19.08 blessing and we are building three brand new staff homes 00:35:19.11\00:35:22.22 which is a 00:35:22.25\00:35:23.59 real miracle and a real blessing that God has put that there. 00:35:23.62\00:35:27.62 Also both Build and Restore came back in July and Maranatha 00:35:27.66\00:35:31.33 Volunteers International will be there in November to ramp up the 00:35:31.36\00:35:35.96 remodeling of the old boys dormitory which has been 00:35:36.00\00:35:39.27 abandoned and that will let us have 60 students on our campus 00:35:39.30\00:35:42.14 and that's our goal. And we're excited about the volunteers 00:35:42.17\00:35:45.97 that have made this possible with people that have given 00:35:46.01\00:35:48.71 funds. Our ongoing needs are for a bus. We don't mind driving a 00:35:48.74\00:35:54.22 school bus but we need...You know right now we're driving 00:35:54.25\00:35:56.28 four different vehicles to get the group around. 00:35:56.32\00:35:58.35 How did you all get here to Southern Illinois? 00:35:58.39\00:36:00.46 We drove the van. 00:36:00.49\00:36:01.82 How many hours? 00:36:01.86\00:36:03.73 It was 22 hours. 00:36:03.76\00:36:05.09 Whoo! Twenty-two hours! You got to know each other very well. 00:36:05.13\00:36:10.23 Kansas seemed to go forever, so. And Missouri. 00:36:10.27\00:36:15.17 So you need a bus. 00:36:15.20\00:36:17.47 That's right. And just the support that it takes to keep 00:36:17.51\00:36:20.18 these kids knocking on doors and to keep the vans going and to 00:36:20.21\00:36:23.85 keep the books in their hands and...That's something that we 00:36:23.88\00:36:27.02 just praise God that He's provided for. We ask that, that 00:36:27.05\00:36:30.15 go forward because we love to see the young people spread the 00:36:30.19\00:36:33.72 good news of Jesus' love. We're out every Tuesday afternoon 00:36:33.76\00:36:36.62 sharing in the community helping in practical ways. We're 00:36:36.66\00:36:39.39 knocking on doors and selling books and as we tour we like to 00:36:39.43\00:36:42.33 do that in each community so that churches have the 00:36:42.36\00:36:45.13 opportunity for us to personally invite people to the concerts 00:36:45.17\00:36:47.54 offer them these truth-filled books and also see if there's 00:36:47.57\00:36:51.84 interest in studying God's word. 00:36:51.87\00:36:53.61 Absolutely. What I'd like to do is talk to our viewers at home 00:36:53.64\00:36:56.21 for just a minute. And there are projects and then there are 00:36:56.24\00:37:00.15 projects and there's the things that you really want to support. 00:37:00.18\00:37:03.25 I'm very impressed today with what you all are doing and 00:37:03.28\00:37:06.05 praise the Lord for you Craig and your staff and for the 00:37:06.09\00:37:12.26 students that are there because you're not what I call and I 00:37:12.29\00:37:16.33 lift up to Jesus and you're not you know you personally but the 00:37:16.36\00:37:19.93 the Jesus in you. It shows that the education that you're 00:37:19.97\00:37:22.47 getting which starts sometimes with the parents and sometimes 00:37:22.50\00:37:26.07 not but through Christian Education when it's really 00:37:26.11\00:37:30.48 Christian Education. It makes a difference. It's life-changing. 00:37:30.51\00:37:32.85 So I want to do two things. One is if you're interested and want 00:37:32.88\00:37:36.85 to know more about Castle Valley we're going to put up an address 00:37:36.89\00:37:40.19 in just a moment. Maybe you're a student and you want to go or 00:37:40.22\00:37:43.06 maybe you're that grandma or grandpa who says boy I wish my 00:37:43.09\00:37:46.63 grandson or granddaughter would go there. But secondly, I want 00:37:46.66\00:37:49.60 to talk about the projects and financially...I know it's a 00:37:49.63\00:37:52.53 small school, I know they don't have a lot of support in that 00:37:52.57\00:37:55.94 area but also I want to put up the address and we want you to 00:37:57.11\00:38:00.78 pray and ask the Holy Spirit what He would have you to do 00:38:00.81\00:38:03.38 in support. This bus is nothing. If we get all of us together and 00:38:03.41\00:38:07.98 you gave $10 and somebody gave $100 and somebody $50 there are 00:38:08.02\00:38:13.59 literally potentially millions of people here in the states. 00:38:13.62\00:38:15.32 There's tremendous amounts of people that are watching. So I'm 00:38:15.36\00:38:18.19 going to say a little prayer and I'm going to ask you to pray and 00:38:18.23\00:38:22.06 ask the Holy Spirit what He would have you to do to get the 00:38:22.10\00:38:27.00 gospel into all the world because what we're actually 00:38:27.04\00:38:29.20 doing here is some of us older folk we realize we're not going 00:38:29.24\00:38:33.27 to be around forever right, should the Lord tarry. But these 00:38:33.31\00:38:36.68 young folk these are the church of tomorrow and so what I see 00:38:36.71\00:38:40.45 that I respect and love is Jesus is the center of their joy. 00:38:40.48\00:38:46.35 That's the focus. When they're talking you can see that Jesus 00:38:46.39\00:38:49.46 is real to them. And we're not worried about all the things 00:38:49.49\00:38:52.46 happening here and there and around the world but just 00:38:52.49\00:38:55.06 sticking to the Bible, going out and doing evangelism, personal 00:38:55.10\00:38:58.90 evangelism, I mean at that age and not a lot of our schools are 00:38:58.93\00:39:02.30 doing that anymore. So we're seeing something here that I 00:39:02.34\00:39:05.71 think that this bus, they need a bus to travel. They're doing all 00:39:05.74\00:39:09.38 these concerts in California and wherever, west coast or Oregon 00:39:09.41\00:39:13.38 wherever, maybe Minnesota, all of that. So they need a bus so 00:39:13.42\00:39:16.45 we're going to pray. So who knows maybe you have a bus 00:39:16.48\00:39:18.52 We've had people donate us motorhomes or buses in the past 00:39:18.55\00:39:22.42 Maybe you have one you're not sure you know what to do with it 00:39:22.46\00:39:26.39 But other than that you say look I want to help support. I want 00:39:26.43\00:39:30.73 to support what they're doing in the community, I want to support 00:39:30.77\00:39:32.10 the farm. There's new building projects, faculty housing, the 00:39:32.13\00:39:38.37 boys dorm to expand it for growth. So I think right now, 00:39:38.41\00:39:42.01 I'm going to say a little prayer and then we're going to put up 00:39:42.04\00:39:44.78 this address. In fact, we'll give you an opportunity even 00:39:44.81\00:39:50.29 when the program's over that if you want to learn more and you 00:39:50.32\00:39:53.02 didn't get their address or email that you can always call 00:39:53.05\00:39:55.99 us here at 3ABN and we'll put you in contact. Right now let's 00:39:56.02\00:39:59.93 bow you heads with me if you would and let's pray and I want 00:39:59.96\00:40:02.86 you to pray too. See what the Lord would have you to do. 00:40:02.90\00:40:05.67 Dear Lord, we thank you for your blessings and your love and we 00:40:05.70\00:40:09.14 thank you for your plan of salvation. We thank you for 00:40:09.17\00:40:12.31 Castle Valley and for the leadership, for Craig and the 00:40:12.34\00:40:16.14 others that are literally here not only being mentors but 00:40:16.18\00:40:19.15 educators and their personal lives with these young people 00:40:19.18\00:40:22.68 that are there. We can see Jesus in them and they each are 00:40:22.72\00:40:27.16 becoming evangelists in their own way. Some may end up 00:40:27.19\00:40:30.23 actually in front preaching but we heard the stories today out 00:40:30.26\00:40:34.53 of nowhere, you opened the door and these kids are singing to 00:40:34.56\00:40:37.57 2000 people and then able to give them the books and able to 00:40:37.60\00:40:42.34 witness to them, to canvas. So we know that there are many 00:40:42.37\00:40:46.61 needs. We know the devil is not happy about this academy and 00:40:46.64\00:40:49.08 what's happening out there but Lord we know greater are you 00:40:49.11\00:40:53.45 that's in us than he that is in the world and so today we're 00:40:53.48\00:40:56.55 just praying that people literally around the world that 00:40:56.58\00:40:59.22 are watching this program today that each and every one of us 00:40:59.25\00:41:02.39 will do something to help them financially. We can do that. 00:41:02.42\00:41:05.93 Some of us can pray, some of us can help financially, some of us 00:41:05.96\00:41:10.37 can donate certain things, maybe vehicles, whatever it is Lord 00:41:10.40\00:41:13.97 I'm just praying for each of us to be open. We know that your 00:41:14.00\00:41:17.84 coming is soon and we realize this is our church of tomorrow 00:41:17.87\00:41:21.11 and I'm just asking again that each and every one of us listens 00:41:21.14\00:41:25.25 to your Holy Spirit and do what you would have us to do and 00:41:25.28\00:41:28.58 support the continuing education of Castle Valley Academy. I ask 00:41:28.62\00:41:32.39 and pray in Jesus' name Amen. 00:41:32.42\00:41:34.49 Now what I want to do is get the address up on the screen 00:41:34.52\00:41:37.66 for a little bit and it's okay to cover our face especially 00:41:37.69\00:41:41.46 mine. But I want to make sure it's up there long enough that 00:41:41.50\00:41:46.47 people can...and maybe you can read it for our radio listeners. 00:41:46.50\00:41:48.14 Castle Valley Academy, HC 64 Box 2201, Castle Valley, UT 84532 00:41:48.17\00:41:58.41 And our phone number is (435) 259-7719. The website is 00:41:58.45\00:42:06.02 CVA.School that's Castle Valley Academy so CVA.School 00:42:06.05\00:42:11.19 Or you can email us at Info@CVA.School 00:42:11.23\00:42:15.76 All right let's leave it up 00:42:15.80\00:42:17.13 there. Emma, you read it for us. Okay. 00:42:17.17\00:42:19.33 Castle Valley Academy, HC 64 Box 2201, Castle Valley, UT 84532 00:42:19.37\00:42:30.31 And our phone number is (435) 259-7719. You can reach us 00:42:30.35\00:42:37.42 at CVA.School or Info@CVA.School 00:42:37.45\00:42:41.46 All right. Thank you so much. Now we only have about eight or 00:42:41.49\00:42:45.76 nine minutes left so Craig where are we going? 00:42:45.79\00:42:48.53 Well you know the most exciting thing we saved for last. And 00:42:48.56\00:42:53.57 ultimately we believe that training thinkers takes a 00:42:53.60\00:42:57.81 different approach to school in the academics especially. And 00:42:57.84\00:43:01.98 so we like to focus on master learning. Master the grammar, 00:43:02.01\00:43:05.25 the math, 00:43:05.28\00:43:06.61 the science. Do it in little bits. Get it in for real. Have 00:43:06.65\00:43:10.79 it for life. But more than that the book Education also tells us 00:43:10.82\00:43:15.09 that the Bible as a textbook is better than all other books that 00:43:15.12\00:43:20.70 have ever been written. And so we figure look if the Bible is 00:43:20.73\00:43:25.13 and must be 00:43:25.17\00:43:26.57 the center of true education then we should know the Bible 00:43:26.60\00:43:30.64 and share the Bible. So tell us about You Choose. This is a 00:43:30.67\00:43:33.54 program that these kids run, this is a program they named, 00:43:33.58\00:43:36.41 I believe is the most exciting thing at Castle Valley Academy. 00:43:36.44\00:43:40.52 So we're really excited to tell you about a program called You 00:43:40.55\00:43:44.42 Choose. It's a Bible-based program where we as students 00:43:44.45\00:43:47.99 carefully study 00:43:48.02\00:43:49.36 the Bible and our ultimate goal is to be able to have a live 00:43:49.39\00:43:52.73 video, a program that people can send in any questions that they 00:43:52.76\00:43:55.76 have about the Bible and we can answer those in the Bible and 00:43:55.80\00:43:58.40 also, learn how to think about it for ourself. And we have a 00:43:58.43\00:44:03.30 group of singers that we have open our program with scripture 00:44:03.34\00:44:06.41 songs We bring a keyboard. We can do this from anywhere around 00:44:06.44\00:44:09.68 our school. We have beautiful red rock that we can film from 00:44:09.71\00:44:12.91 or we have this thing called Star Link Mobile which allows us 00:44:12.95\00:44:17.29 to stream live from anywhere and so yeah. 00:44:17.32\00:44:20.22 Another thing that's really amazing is our team behind the 00:44:20.26\00:44:24.39 camera that you don't normally see, they've put together what 00:44:24.43\00:44:28.46 we call a Bibliopedia, a You Choose Bibliopedia which is 00:44:28.50\00:44:32.17 basically like a Wikipedia of all the Bible topics that at 00:44:32.20\00:44:36.34 least we could think of and the amazing thing about this program 00:44:36.37\00:44:39.64 is the more questions that you ask and the more questions that 00:44:39.67\00:44:44.21 we get the more we can put into this Bibliopedia so if you think 00:44:44.25\00:44:48.52 of basically any topic on the Bible all we have to do is put 00:44:48.55\00:44:50.92 that in there. We can find all the verses on that, we can find 00:44:50.95\00:44:55.16 the references and everything there so we can put forward the 00:44:55.19\00:44:58.59 information. But the really amazing thing about this program 00:44:58.63\00:45:01.06 is that we're not just telling you what's going on. We're 00:45:01.10\00:45:05.13 giving you the information and we'll let you choose what the 00:45:05.17\00:45:09.44 answer is. So we're not just putting it in your face, oh this 00:45:09.47\00:45:11.54 is what you're supposed to do like this is what the Bible says 00:45:11.57\00:45:15.11 to do. This is what God has told us to do and you can interpret 00:45:15.14\00:45:20.42 that for yourselves. So it's really amazing. 00:45:20.45\00:45:23.02 It's a way for us to learn the Bible better while also helping 00:45:23.05\00:45:28.06 other people learn. They're really great... 00:45:28.09\00:45:30.23 Even more than that if you know media, and Danny I know you do, 00:45:30.26\00:45:33.56 you know for every minute of run time on a great music video 00:45:33.60\00:45:37.57 there's probably 10 to 40 hours backstage, all that stuff, and 00:45:37.60\00:45:42.74 so we just feel like time's too short to spend all of our time 00:45:42.77\00:45:45.37 making music videos so but here's a way to basically have 00:45:45.41\00:45:49.08 enthusiasm and eagerness and all this scripture singing happening 00:45:49.11\00:45:52.48 live and between each song you know they're saying hey guys let 00:45:52.51\00:45:56.42 us know what song you want to learn from the Bible and send us 00:45:56.45\00:45:58.92 your questions and then these guys are ready for those 00:45:58.95\00:46:02.66 questions and diving in. And it's just...you know one of the 00:46:02.69\00:46:06.33 things that is so important for young people to learn is the 00:46:06.36\00:46:09.26 ability to communicate and have an enthusiasm and have energy. 00:46:09.30\00:46:13.13 And so then, I mean, you're going to make this thing fly 00:46:13.17\00:46:15.50 You know for people to really watch it, it's got to be 00:46:15.54\00:46:18.34 interesting. It's not just like oh here's the question. No. And 00:46:18.37\00:46:21.48 that's for me as a teacher it's so exciting to see that 00:46:21.51\00:46:25.61 happening, see that dynamic start to grow and to see that 00:46:25.65\00:46:31.35 their communication skills are going through the roof. And 00:46:31.39\00:46:33.62 praise God because the message has got to get out and every 00:46:33.66\00:46:36.56 question's got to be answered. 00:46:36.59\00:46:39.39 And any question that we get to answer is something that we 00:46:39.43\00:46:42.60 learned, we learned for ourselves a lot more than just 00:46:42.63\00:46:44.13 hearing it in a sermon and knowing it from since you were 00:46:44.17\00:46:47.07 little because we're good Adventists but actually sharing 00:46:47.10\00:46:49.10 answers straight from the Bible. It just really strengthens you 00:46:49.14\00:46:52.11 and your beliefs and it helps you know exactly where it's 00:46:52.14\00:46:54.51 found in the Bible and how to share them with people that are 00:46:54.54\00:46:57.31 wondering because there are a lot of people out there that are 00:46:57.35\00:46:58.68 just hungry for the truth and that's our mission to get it out 00:46:58.71\00:47:01.02 there. 00:47:01.05\00:47:02.42 The amazing thing about this is it's not just that all the 00:47:02.45\00:47:06.72 adults have put this thing in front of us to do. It's that 00:47:06.76\00:47:11.09 everything from thinking of a name, You Choose, everything 00:47:11.13\00:47:15.66 from actually studying there, from singing the songs, from 00:47:15.70\00:47:17.93 being backstage, the cameras, the tech support, everything 00:47:17.97\00:47:22.20 back there is all student-run. We do the Bibliopedia, we're 00:47:22.24\00:47:28.34 actually studying the Bible to find the questions, to find the 00:47:28.38\00:47:32.61 verses and answers and to be able to put it out there. Like 00:47:32.65\00:47:36.32 we have the privilege of being able to do this and it's not 00:47:36.35\00:47:40.16 just something that they've put for us. We're actually involved. 00:47:40.19\00:47:45.03 So the Bible is just really the textbook for our school. We're 00:47:45.06\00:47:48.36 studying the Bible. We're learning much more than you 00:47:48.40\00:47:50.60 would in any other school. 00:47:50.63\00:47:52.20 Nothing's more powerful than a personal testimony what we're 00:47:52.23\00:47:58.71 doing in the process. Oh say this is what we learned while 00:47:58.74\00:48:01.74 trying to answer your question. Here's how we kind of 00:48:01.78\00:48:05.15 interpreted it but here's the answer to it. And it's a really 00:48:05.18\00:48:08.98 good way for us to get to work with each other, get to know 00:48:09.02\00:48:11.15 each other better from the closer student body by having 00:48:11.19\00:48:15.59 you know worked with our friends in front of the camera and 00:48:15.62\00:48:17.83 with our friends off the camera. It's a really really great thing 00:48:17.86\00:48:20.96 to do. 00:48:21.00\00:48:22.33 Ben, you're kind of quiet over there. These folk are jumping in 00:48:22.36\00:48:25.73 Do you have any comments right before we close here. Somebody's 00:48:25.77\00:48:30.07 thinking about coming to Castle Valley and joining all of you, 00:48:30.11\00:48:32.77 what would you say to some student right now that's in the 00:48:32.81\00:48:34.91 valley of decision. 00:48:34.94\00:48:37.91 Well personally coming to Castle Valley has been one of the 00:48:37.95\00:48:40.25 greatest things that has ever happened to me. Just being 00:48:40.28\00:48:45.55 around other students that are focused on God and loving each 00:48:45.59\00:48:49.06 other and the music, the canvassing, the canvassing has 00:48:49.09\00:48:52.26 strengthened my relationship with God more than anything I 00:48:52.29\00:48:55.43 have ever done. And so if you have a chance please come. It's 00:48:55.46\00:48:59.87 an incredible experience on every front. 00:48:59.90\00:49:02.10 All right. Any closing thoughts? We've got two minutes left. 00:49:02.14\00:49:06.57 We know that Jesus is coming soon and we want to share it in 00:49:06.61\00:49:12.81 every way we can. And it's exciting to see miracle after 00:49:12.85\00:49:15.88 miracle. It's exciting to go out with these young people and to 00:49:15.92\00:49:18.65 pray for those Divine appointments, to pray, you know, 00:49:18.69\00:49:22.16 lead us to the home where there's a great need. Lead us 00:49:22.19\00:49:24.36 to the place where they want to study the Bible and then to see 00:49:24.39\00:49:27.76 those prayers answered is just proof that God is listening and 00:49:27.80\00:49:32.67 that He's willing to use us. 00:49:32.70\00:49:35.80 Do you have time for another quick story? 00:49:35.84\00:49:37.61 Be really quick. 00:49:37.64\00:49:40.44 During our music tour, we were in a Walmart parking lot and I 00:49:40.48\00:49:45.21 just happened to walk up to this guy that was at the back of his 00:49:45.25\00:49:46.68 car. And I gave him the books Great Controversy, Lessons of 00:49:46.72\00:49:50.99 Love and Steps to Christ. And it was so amazing because he said 00:49:51.02\00:49:55.39 he'd been searching, he'd been looking for the answers and just 00:49:55.42\00:49:59.29 trying to find God and it was just amazing that God put him 00:49:59.33\00:50:03.33 in our path and impressed me to just give him the books. 00:50:03.37\00:50:07.00 What's really great about this school is that we're doing 00:50:07.04\00:50:09.40 things that we've done before you know we've all probably 00:50:09.44\00:50:13.78 worked in the garden been to school in the classroom but 00:50:13.81\00:50:15.51 we're also doing things that kind of get us outside our 00:50:15.54\00:50:16.88 comfort zone, get us to experience more things than just 00:50:16.91\00:50:20.25 this little world we've been living in and that's what's 00:50:20.28\00:50:23.49 really good about canvassing, about you know music tours, 00:50:23.52\00:50:26.69 working on the farm and going everywhere else. 00:50:26.72\00:50:29.16 I love it. What we're going to do is we're going to put up your 00:50:29.19\00:50:34.86 address one more time for our folks at home. Then we're going 00:50:34.90\00:50:36.77 go to a news break. We'll come back for a closing thought. 00:50:36.80\00:50:40.10 We'll be back right after that. 00:50:40.14\00:50:43.61 If you would like to contact or know more about Castle Valley 00:50:43.64\00:50:47.24 Academy you can do so in the following ways: You can write to 00:50:47.28\00:50:50.11 them at HC 64 Box 2201, Castle Valley, UT 84532.
