I'm glad 00:01:07.36\00:01:10.70 that you took the time to join us. [Jason Bradley] And so I 00:01:10.73\00:01:13.44 have a question for you, I won't hear your answer but I have a 00:01:13.47\00:01:16.57 question for you anyway. Do you enjoy a good story? What about 00:01:16.60\00:01:21.48 the journey that someone goes through as they're giving their 00:01:21.51\00:01:26.98 heart to the Lord. Well if you do, you're going to want to 00:01:27.02\00:01:30.59 stick around because the guests that I will be conversing with 00:01:30.62\00:01:35.22 they will share some stories, some powerful stories, about how 00:01:35.26\00:01:42.13 people gave their lives to the Lord. So we're going to hear 00:01:42.16\00:01:46.60 from them in just a minute. Let me introduce them to you. We 00:01:46.63\00:01:50.17 have Daniel Pedley and you are the communications director of 00:01:50.21\00:01:55.21 Adverum Productions. (Right) It's great to have you here. 00:01:55.24\00:01:58.45 Next to you, we have your wife here, Antonella Pedley, Adverum 00:01:58.48\00:02:05.62 Productions writer and producer. It's great to have you here as 00:02:05.65\00:02:08.69 well. Yes and thank you for having us. 00:02:08.72\00:02:10.56 Oh, you're welcome. I want to get into your background. I 00:02:10.59\00:02:15.73 always like to talk to our guests about their upbringing 00:02:15.76\00:02:20.00 you know what life was like for them and how things were in the 00:02:20.04\00:02:25.14 faith and all of that. But before we dive into that and 00:02:25.17\00:02:28.84 find out all about this wonderful ministry we're going 00:02:28.88\00:02:33.25 to be blessed in song. Kendol Bacchus will be playing a song 00:02:33.28\00:02:36.58 entitled Shepherd of My Heart. 00:02:36.62\00:02:38.95 ¤ ¤ 00:02:38.99\00:08:16.12 Wow what a beautiful song. Shepherd of My Heart. Thank you 00:08:16.16\00:08:20.56 for blessing us in song Kendol Bacchus. Daniel, I want to 00:08:20.60\00:08:25.73 transition into your background and find out how long has Jesus 00:08:25.77\00:08:29.77 been the Shepherd of your heart and how did He grab ahold of 00:08:29.80\00:08:33.41 your life? 00:08:33.44\00:08:35.14 Mmm, Amen. Well I think I have to start like at the very 00:08:35.18\00:08:38.58 beginning at my birth and there were some complications and I 00:08:38.61\00:08:44.22 almost died actually at birth and then when I was five years 00:08:44.25\00:08:49.19 old I got run over by a car and miraculously survived. So these 00:08:49.22\00:08:59.13 two events really put an impression on my you know to me 00:08:59.17\00:09:04.27 I think God was really real to me. I felt like He had a plan 00:09:04.31\00:09:11.78 for my life. He had grabbed me like you say and it always. 00:09:11.81\00:09:20.76 Yeah, it always remained through my life even though I was 00:09:20.79\00:09:24.36 baptized when I was 16. I think back then and even now I have 00:09:24.39\00:09:31.40 that constant understanding that God loves me, He has a purpose 00:09:31.43\00:09:35.94 for me and it doesn't matter what other people are doing or 00:09:35.97\00:09:39.84 how they are behaving God is always constant, He's always 00:09:39.87\00:09:44.81 there. 00:09:44.85\00:09:46.21 Mm-hmm. It's interesting because the devil was trying to take you 00:09:46.25\00:09:49.42 out at an early age. He knew God had a great purpose for your 00:09:49.45\00:09:53.96 life. How did you go about discovering God's purpose for 00:09:53.99\00:09:57.33 your life? 00:09:57.36\00:09:59.09 Oh yeah, we don't have that much time to talk about that but I 00:09:59.13\00:10:06.94 believe just step by step He led me from one thing to another. He 00:10:06.97\00:10:13.31 put a burden on my heart to do mission work and I kind of 00:10:13.34\00:10:18.65 discovered on my journey that it was going to be in a creative 00:10:18.68\00:10:23.99 way. I'm a graphic designer and I enjoy visual communication and 00:10:24.02\00:10:32.16 I kind of pops into what we're doing with our ministry. 00:10:32.19\00:10:36.87 Yes, yes. We're going to talk all about that in just a moment 00:10:36.90\00:10:39.93 here. But Antonella tell us when God grabbed ahold of your life 00:10:39.97\00:10:44.31 and how you've been able to stay grounded in the faith. 00:10:44.34\00:10:49.38 Yes so I was born and raised in Romania which was a communist 00:10:49.41\00:10:53.75 country at that time. And my parents were Christians. They 00:10:53.78\00:10:58.25 were Adventists so I always knew about the faith. I always 00:10:58.29\00:11:02.12 believed. But of course my faith was challenged very early on 00:11:02.16\00:11:05.66 because at school I remember we had a biology teacher and I 00:11:05.69\00:11:11.13 guess the communist party had given her this mandate to try 00:11:11.17\00:11:14.64 to convert me to that side. So I remember her calling me out 00:11:14.67\00:11:19.77 and saying how can you believe in God. I mean isn't that such a 00:11:19.81\00:11:24.61 stupid idea. And I was young and I didn't always know what to say 00:11:24.65\00:11:29.42 So those kind of questions have I've always tried to find good 00:11:29.45\00:11:34.59 questions for people who ask me and challenge my... 00:11:34.62\00:11:37.19 Have good answers for the people that ask the questions. Gotcha. 00:11:37.23\00:11:39.09 And then when we moved, well we got married and we lived in 00:11:39.13\00:11:46.57 Western Europe I realized that there are people here also who 00:11:46.60\00:11:50.31 don't believe in God. In fact, a lot of people don't believe in 00:11:50.34\00:11:52.81 God. So I realized that we have to be able to give an answer to 00:11:52.84\00:11:58.81 the people who ask about faith (Absolutely) So that encouraged 00:11:58.85\00:12:02.98 me to educate myself about these things, about the 00:12:03.02\00:12:07.09 questions that people have. 00:12:07.12\00:12:09.62 Yes, yes. To study, learn, grow, share. All of that, yes. And how 00:12:09.66\00:12:14.60 did you two meet? 00:12:14.63\00:12:17.07 We actually met here in the United States. 00:12:17.10\00:12:20.94 Wow! Well praise the Lord, praise the Lord. How did Adverum 00:12:20.97\00:12:25.04 get started? 00:12:25.07\00:12:26.57 Yes well as I said, we had this idea or this feeling that people 00:12:26.61\00:12:34.72 around us didn't believe in God. And we wanted to be able to 00:12:34.75\00:12:38.05 share our faith with them. And I remember back in 2000 or so the 00:12:38.09\00:12:46.96 books of Richard Dawkins were coming out and there was a lot 00:12:47.00\00:12:50.83 of talk about that and the arguments he had against God. 00:12:50.87\00:12:54.20 And I remember I was talking and thinking how can we help people 00:12:54.24\00:12:59.87 ground their faith in the Bible. because a lot of people don't 00:12:59.91\00:13:07.42 believe in the Bible. A lot of the evangelistic methods that we 00:13:07.45\00:13:11.65 have they presuppose that people believe in the Bible. And 00:13:11.69\00:13:16.59 so what do you do when somebody does not believe in the Bible 00:13:16.62\00:13:18.59 that it is the word of God? 00:13:18.63\00:13:19.96 And so we kind of thought that or God put on our heart this 00:13:20.00\00:13:25.87 thought that we should help people to believe in the Bible, 00:13:25.90\00:13:30.77 to build up their trust in the Bible. So observe actually means 00:13:30.81\00:13:36.88 towards the truth. So helping people to gain or regain the 00:13:36.91\00:13:43.49 trust in the truthfulness of the Bible. 00:13:43.52\00:13:47.02 Nice, nice. I love that. And that is a question that a lot of 00:13:47.06\00:13:50.36 people have is where do we start You know you have to establish a 00:13:50.39\00:13:55.66 foundation. If they don't believe in the Bible where do 00:13:55.70\00:13:58.23 you start? So where did you start? How do you help people 00:13:58.27\00:14:03.64 to see the validity of the Bible if they don't believe in it? 00:14:03.67\00:14:08.38 Maybe we'll go a little step back. (Okay) So after we got 00:14:08.41\00:14:14.32 married we lived in Jersey which is an island. 00:14:14.35\00:14:18.22 Mm-hmm. Not New Jersey, yeah. 00:14:18.25\00:14:20.26 Old Jersey. (Okay gotcha) and we were the only Adventists on this 00:14:20.29\00:14:26.90 island. And we were there for four years. 00:14:26.93\00:14:29.96 What was that like? 00:14:30.00\00:14:31.37 It was very lonely, very lonely. (Yeah) In fact, we had yeah 00:14:31.40\00:14:41.54 because we were the only Adventists we tried to have some 00:14:41.58\00:14:44.35 Christian fellowship and we also got materials from different 00:14:44.38\00:14:50.35 ministries. We're watching those And then I think it's around 00:14:50.39\00:14:55.49 2000 that the Hot Bird 5 satellite, 3ABN came on Help Bud 00:14:55.52\00:15:01.46 Five and we got special permission from our landlord 00:15:01.50\00:15:05.73 to put a dish up and from that moment when he plugged 00:15:05.77\00:15:11.07 everything in, the technician and we saw 3ABN for the first 00:15:11.11\00:15:16.85 time. (Wow. Praise God) 00:15:16.88\00:15:18.98 Yes, that was a happy moment when we finally saw the image 00:15:19.01\00:15:22.52 there. And 3ABN became our church for about two or three 00:15:22.55\00:15:28.36 years. We were watching 3ABN every Sabbath and we realized 00:15:28.39\00:15:34.50 the importance of Christian media. It was such a tremendous 00:15:34.53\00:15:38.20 blessing in our life. So that thought was at the back of our 00:15:38.23\00:15:44.71 thoughts. And then we worked for a Christian television station 00:15:44.74\00:15:50.91 in Sweden and also again caught a vision for working with media. 00:15:50.95\00:15:56.45 And then that came together in Adverum Productions. 00:15:56.48\00:16:01.82 Yeah, so 2016 we started, we actually did our first 00:16:01.86\00:16:07.70 production in that summer and we'll have some slides later on 00:16:07.73\00:16:13.34 show you some of the things. We did... 00:16:13.37\00:16:19.04 Yeah, that'll be wonderful to look at. Would you say that it's 00:16:19.07\00:16:21.28 been a journey? 00:16:21.31\00:16:23.11 Absolutely, yeah. 00:16:23.14\00:16:24.48 A learning process. 00:16:24.51\00:16:25.85 Oh yeah. 00:16:25.88\00:16:27.22 Right. What are some challenges maybe that you faced along the 00:16:27.25\00:16:29.55 way? 00:16:29.58\00:16:30.92 Yeah well you know we've been doing this as a side project so 00:16:30.95\00:16:39.03 we have a commercial business that pays the bills and then 00:16:39.06\00:16:43.53 we're trying to do this kind of on the side. So I think that's 00:16:43.57\00:16:47.17 one of the challenges is we would like to do more but it's 00:16:47.20\00:16:52.14 like you have to get the bread on the table... 00:16:52.17\00:16:56.14 Yes, yes for sure. So you've been helping to fund the non 00:16:56.18\00:17:02.22 profit, the ministry by your business. (That's right) Wow. 00:17:02.25\00:17:07.29 That's tremendous. I'm hoping that our viewers and listeners 00:17:07.32\00:17:12.63 that are catching a vision will help fund as well so that you 00:17:12.66\00:17:17.67 could end up focusing on that full time. Is that something 00:17:17.70\00:17:21.77 that you're working towards is transitioning to full time 00:17:21.80\00:17:26.61 Adverum? 00:17:26.64\00:17:28.41 That'll be a dream come true. 00:17:28.44\00:17:29.78 Yeah, that'll be great, that'll be great. What's the vision and 00:17:29.81\00:17:36.02 mission of Adverum. I know that you said you know to get people 00:17:36.05\00:17:40.62 to basically recognize the validity of the Bible. But you 00:17:40.66\00:17:46.19 also have people that share their testimonies and all of 00:17:46.23\00:17:48.40 that stuff too. What's the vision and mission just as an 00:17:48.43\00:17:51.53 overarching thing? 00:17:51.57\00:17:53.44 So the mission of Adverum is to reach secular people, people who 00:17:53.47\00:17:58.07 do not believe in God at this point. And so we thought of what 00:17:58.11\00:18:04.85 medium to use. So we thought using media, Christian media is 00:18:04.88\00:18:10.05 something that God has impressed us to do. And we also like the 00:18:10.09\00:18:14.32 format of documentaries, many documentaries. (Why is that?) 00:18:14.36\00:18:20.03 So I don't know if you remember James Cameron, he is an 00:18:20.06\00:18:27.77 acclaimed film producer and such and I remember hearing the story 00:18:27.80\00:18:30.71 how he watched a documentary. It was a health documentary. And it 00:18:30.74\00:18:35.58 was talking about the advantages of a plant-based diet and how 00:18:35.61\00:18:38.71 after watching the documentary he went straight with his wife 00:18:38.75\00:18:41.78 to the kitchen and they cleaned out all non-plant-based food 00:18:41.82\00:18:46.72 So I thought this is amazing how just watching a documentary can 00:18:46.76\00:18:51.23 bring about change. So we have taken on this mode of doing or 00:18:51.26\00:18:58.47 trying to do documentaries to reach people through the gospel. 00:18:58.50\00:19:04.14 And we believe that documentaries should be well 00:19:04.17\00:19:10.91 researched, they should be content-rich and also quality in 00:19:10.95\00:19:16.65 production. 00:19:16.69\00:19:18.02 Absolutely. Now I know that it has to take a lot of moving 00:19:18.05\00:19:21.92 parts. Research takes time. And then actually filming the 00:19:21.96\00:19:25.33 production and doing all of that stuff. Hopefully, we'll get to 00:19:25.36\00:19:29.36 look at some members of the team and some behind-the-scenes stuff 00:19:29.40\00:19:32.70 a little bit later. But it takes a lot of moving parts, right? 00:19:32.73\00:19:36.17 Yes, and first we thought we should start with a project that 00:19:36.20\00:19:42.68 involves stories. So I have a relative who is not a believer 00:19:42.71\00:19:49.75 and we were having a lot of discussions about the faith, 00:19:49.78\00:19:54.42 about God and I remember at one point he said to me, There are 00:19:54.46\00:20:01.53 no people these days who become Christians. It's always the 00:20:01.56\00:20:04.50 other way around. There are Christians who become non 00:20:04.53\00:20:07.70 believers and especially not here in Western Europe, in the 00:20:07.74\00:20:12.71 western world or in Europe. And I kind of thought for a minute 00:20:12.74\00:20:16.64 and I took that as a challenge. So I thought, Of course there 00:20:16.68\00:20:22.85 are people who have given their lives to God and have become 00:20:22.88\00:20:26.72 believers. So I thought why don't we show that? So then 00:20:26.76\00:20:31.13 we came up with this idea of filming conversion stories of 00:20:31.16\00:20:35.33 people who were non-believers, did not believe in God, didn't 00:20:35.36\00:20:38.77 care about God or were agnostic, who have made the journeys to 00:20:38.80\00:20:43.41 become believers. Not just believers but very firm 00:20:43.44\00:20:47.24 believers and people who share their faith with others. 00:20:47.28\00:20:51.78 Yes, that's incredible the power of a testimony. 00:20:51.81\00:20:54.88 Yes and we have a trailer that shows the journeys like and so 00:20:54.92\00:21:03.49 maybe we can... 00:21:03.53\00:21:05.89 Absolutely, I love that. Let's check that out right now. 00:21:05.93\00:21:08.36 I was firmly convinced about evolutionism. I was also really 00:21:08.40\00:21:15.17 vocal against people who believed in God. 00:21:15.20\00:21:19.54 My young life was formed by criminality and later I went 00:21:19.57\00:21:26.05 into captivity. I have an inquisitive mind and I wondered 00:21:26.08\00:21:32.35 is there any truth in the Bible? 00:21:32.39\00:21:34.42 I had money to spend so I could afford expensive toys. I felt 00:21:34.46\00:21:39.73 happy and I had no interest in God. 00:21:39.76\00:21:45.60 ¤ ¤ 00:21:45.63\00:21:54.11 I'm an officer in the German Army. I'm not a church member. 00:21:54.14\00:21:59.05 but I would like to prepare to become baptized. 00:21:59.08\00:22:02.68 I decided to follow God. I have never regretted my 00:22:02.72\00:22:08.56 decision. 00:22:08.59\00:22:09.99 And I got convinced that God loves me and that he wrote the. 00:22:10.03\00:22:14.43 Bible. 00:22:14.46\00:22:16.93 So I testified publically that I wanted to be a follower of 00:22:16.97\00:22:21.40 Jesus. 00:22:21.44\00:22:25.31 ¤ ¤ 00:22:25.34\00:22:39.72 Wow, that's incredible. You know I believe that a lot of souls 00:22:39.75\00:22:43.69 will be won to the kingdom from people watching those 00:22:43.73\00:22:49.26 testimonies and seeing how God moved in the lives of other 00:22:49.30\00:22:52.73 people. How do you go about finding these interviews. 00:22:52.77\00:22:57.17 Yeah, God sends us people. He just...I mean we're 00:22:57.21\00:23:05.28 keeping our eyes open. But we meet someone or we just start 00:23:05.31\00:23:09.42 talking to someone. Like oh wow they have a story to share. And 00:23:09.45\00:23:14.49 what is neat is that these are not famous stories. They're just 00:23:14.52\00:23:19.63 ordinary people. And I think it's exciting to...that when you 00:23:19.66\00:23:26.17 uncover them and when you kind of see the transition point of 00:23:26.20\00:23:32.87 what sort of tipped them over, like what got them, yeah, 00:23:32.91\00:23:38.98 believing. 00:23:39.01\00:23:40.35 Yeah since the majority, the vast majority of these people 00:23:40.38\00:23:43.82 they are from Europe or live in Europe. In fact, most of them 00:23:43.85\00:23:48.56 don't even have English as their first language. So it shows that 00:23:48.59\00:23:53.23 God is in the business of miracles in secular Europe today 00:23:53.26\00:23:59.57 And also what is good about testimonies is that they are 00:23:59.60\00:24:08.01 incontrovertible as in you cannot argue against somebody's 00:24:08.04\00:24:13.82 testimony. That is what they experienced. That's how God has 00:24:13.85\00:24:17.65 worked in their lives. And they are unique. God works in a 00:24:17.69\00:24:24.16 unique way in people's lives. And also people can relate to 00:24:24.19\00:24:29.23 different testimonies. We sometimes talk to people and we 00:24:29.26\00:24:32.53 say which one did you like? And they all say a different one 00:24:32.57\00:24:37.41 because they can relate to different issues that are 00:24:37.44\00:24:41.64 brought up different experiences of people and also as we started 00:24:41.68\00:24:48.08 filming the different journeys we realized that there are side 00:24:48.12\00:24:52.22 issues that come up. For example evolution or drugs and 00:24:52.25\00:24:59.79 criminality, depression, spiritualism, new age, 00:24:59.83\00:25:05.57 environmentalism, speaking in tongues and they also create 00:25:05.60\00:25:08.14 another layer of interest... 00:25:08.17\00:25:11.67 Yeah, yeah. So are those some of the topics that you cover 00:25:11.71\00:25:15.51 as well? 00:25:15.54\00:25:17.31 Yeah, so the main topic is how these people made the journey 00:25:17.35\00:25:20.08 from being non-believers to believers, but then these issues 00:25:20.12\00:25:23.05 also come up, right. 00:25:23.08\00:25:24.69 Got you. And these are things that they're dealing with. (Yes) 00:25:24.72\00:25:27.32 Or that they dealt with prior to coming to Christ. 00:25:27.36\00:25:31.56 Okay, got you. Have you received any feedback? 00:25:31.59\00:25:35.53 Yeah, yeah, we have a YouTube channel and we see people 00:25:35.56\00:25:44.31 commenting there. We also have actually Spanish subtitles 00:25:44.34\00:25:51.65 I think. 00:25:51.68\00:25:53.01 Yeah so both classes have contacted us and asked us if 00:25:53.05\00:25:56.45 they can carry our programs and asked if they can dub them or 00:25:56.48\00:26:03.26 translate them into different languages. So we have been 00:26:03.29\00:26:09.66 translated to Italian, Spanish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Swedish, 00:26:09.70\00:26:13.44 some of them in German and Slovenian. (That's huge) And we 00:26:13.47\00:26:21.14 received a few proposals from people Spain (unclear). 00:26:21.18\00:26:24.68 Nice, nice. How has being a part of this ministry, how has it 00:26:24.71\00:26:28.75 strengthened your faith? 00:26:28.78\00:26:30.49 Yeah, well every time we do a journey we see actually the 00:26:30.52\00:26:37.19 Great Controversy in action. It seems like things always come up 00:26:37.23\00:26:42.23 things are always like getting in the way but then they're 00:26:42.26\00:26:46.63 being resolved. God is taking us through that. So I think seeing 00:26:46.67\00:26:54.21 God in action like even when we're doing a production... 00:26:54.24\00:26:59.31 Yeah, yeah for sure. 00:26:59.35\00:27:04.02 Yes and we have seen miracles as we were doing the journeys 00:27:04.05\00:27:09.09 Well one of them was just being able to do them with the 00:27:09.12\00:27:14.83 financial implications. And also putting together a team. Because 00:27:14.86\00:27:20.57 initially, it was Dan and I and another friend of ours, his name 00:27:20.60\00:27:25.34 is Heber. We caught the vision together. But then God brought 00:27:25.37\00:27:30.88 other people to the team who also had a burden to share God's 00:27:30.91\00:27:35.55 message and also have the skills to do this like videographers, 00:27:35.58\00:27:41.56 editors and also we are amazed at the talent that God has 00:27:41.59\00:27:47.26 brought. And how also we complement each other because 00:27:47.30\00:27:51.50 some of us some who are adventurous, some of us are more 00:27:51.53\00:27:54.74 laid back and want to check all the details. I'm sure you see 00:27:54.77\00:27:58.21 that here at 3ABN as well. (Oh absolutely) God brings together 00:27:58.24\00:28:01.34 different talents to complement the work. 00:28:01.38\00:28:06.45 Yes, yes. And it's incredible because if anybody at home knows 00:28:06.48\00:28:12.79 anything about production and the process so many moving parts 00:28:12.82\00:28:17.43 but yet God, as you're saying, brings it all together and we 00:28:17.46\00:28:22.70 all possess different talents, we all possess different gifts 00:28:22.73\00:28:25.07 but God knows who and when you know to put together so that His 00:28:25.10\00:28:33.07 word can go forth, and His message can go forth. So let's 00:28:33.11\00:28:38.31 talk about the behind-the- scenes of putting one of the 00:28:38.35\00:28:43.59 journey productions together. We actually have some photos 00:28:43.62\00:28:47.49 don't we? Let's take a look at those. Tell us what's going 00:28:47.52\00:28:52.33 on in each or who these people are. 00:28:52.36\00:28:54.40 This is our first production in Slovenia. As you can see we were 00:28:54.43\00:28:59.83 much younger there. We got a bit of rain but actually in general 00:28:59.87\00:29:06.37 we've never had bad weather. We've always had things that are 00:29:06.41\00:29:10.45 nice. Okay this is in Germany filming outdoors. 00:29:10.48\00:29:16.38 The challenges of filming outdoors. Yes and here we're 00:29:16.42\00:29:21.32 filming an the story of an environmentalist, so you see the 00:29:21.36\00:29:26.46 windmills there in the background. And we tried to use 00:29:26.49\00:29:31.60 every space we have. This is at one of our homes. We used three 00:29:31.63\00:29:37.71 two different, well actually three different angles of this 00:29:37.74\00:29:42.68 one home to film into these. Yes here's Heber and Patrick 00:29:42.71\00:29:50.39 two videographers to film one of the talents in the nearby 00:29:50.42\00:29:56.42 city. Yes there's a neat story about this one. This has also 00:29:56.46\00:30:04.07 the side issue of spiritualism and this artwork, it's out in 00:30:04.10\00:30:09.80 the open air...We didn't know about it. A passerby gave us a 00:30:09.84\00:30:15.34 map as we were filming and so you can maybe continue the story 00:30:15.38\00:30:22.28 All right, so we were there filming these people were 00:30:22.32\00:30:30.43 walking by and they said oh do you know there are other art 00:30:30.46\00:30:33.33 works around this forest. And so we got the map and we and it 00:30:33.36\00:30:41.57 fitted perfectly to the story of special interest. 00:30:41.60\00:30:44.37 Not only that, we can look at the picture again maybe, the 00:30:44.41\00:30:49.91 clouds are perfect. 00:30:49.94\00:30:51.28 That is, that's a good shot. 00:30:51.31\00:30:54.35 And then sometimes as you see on the next photo there we have to 00:30:54.38\00:31:01.02 get up really early in the morning. This was at, I think it 00:31:01.06\00:31:05.46 was a very early rise. 00:31:05.49\00:31:06.83 It was cold too, wasn't it? 00:31:06.86\00:31:08.60 Yes, it was very cold. And you just have to catch the golden 00:31:08.63\00:31:13.64 light at the sunrise. (That's dedication) 00:31:13.67\00:31:16.54 This is incidence.com recording. That's Patrick on the right, our 00:31:16.57\00:31:23.55 videographer and editor This was another one of those long days 00:31:23.58\00:31:31.62 Even after this, we went to record on the underground. 00:31:31.65\00:31:37.63 It was quite a long day that one 00:31:37.66\00:31:39.73 And this is Darby one of our videographers and he's here 00:31:39.76\00:31:46.84 filming his father. One of the testimonies is about the father 00:31:46.87\00:31:51.01 so it was very special to see how they worked together. (Yes) 00:31:51.04\00:31:55.71 And this is Darby's mom who did an amazing job at putting a 00:31:55.74\00:32:01.62 puzzle together. It took her all day for a three-second sequence 00:32:01.65\00:32:07.12 that we had when Albert is putting like three pieces of 00:32:07.16\00:32:11.36 puzzle at the end (wow) so she really did a great job there. 00:32:11.39\00:32:16.26 This was our last production in Germany and it was very, very 00:32:16.30\00:32:24.74 hot there. It was over 40 degrees Celsius. 00:32:24.77\00:32:29.91 No wonder there's no coats or no snowy hats or anything like 00:32:29.94\00:32:33.88 that there so yeah, yeah. It looked like it was a beautiful 00:32:33.92\00:32:36.22 day though. Yes for sure. 00:32:36.25\00:32:39.02 So his mom put together a puzzle Took all day to put together a 00:32:39.05\00:32:47.10 little puzzle for a three second sequence? Wow! And what was the 00:32:47.13\00:32:54.20 message behind that particular... 00:32:54.24\00:32:58.34 I think the pieces of his puzzle coming together so it's a little 00:32:58.37\00:33:05.18 ...if we can do this visual messaging we like to come up 00:33:05.21\00:33:11.85 with creative ways to support the story. 00:33:11.89\00:33:17.43 Yeah so he had a lot of questions about the Bible 00:33:17.46\00:33:19.39 especially how the Old Testament fits together with the New 00:33:19.43\00:33:23.00 Testament. In the Old Testament you have...He saw a God that was 00:33:23.03\00:33:29.60 stern, not so much love, and then in the New Testament, you 00:33:29.64\00:33:34.08 have more of a loving God. So he just couldn't understand how 00:33:34.11\00:33:36.48 those two fit together. And then when he understood that all the 00:33:36.51\00:33:40.72 sacrifices in the Old Testament they prefigure the sacrifice of 00:33:40.75\00:33:45.75 Jesus in the New Testament and that was the puzzle piece that 00:33:45.79\00:33:50.83 came. (Uh-huh) 00:33:50.86\00:33:52.19 Oh that's awesome (Put together) That's great, the missing puzzle 00:33:52.23\00:33:55.46 piece. What are some future productions that you have? 00:33:55.50\00:33:58.93 planned? 00:33:58.97\00:34:01.20 Right. Well we've always had this burden for making 00:34:01.24\00:34:05.61 documentaries, longer documentaries. So the one that 00:34:05.64\00:34:09.41 we have next on our goal is to do a documentary about health 00:34:09.44\00:34:17.12 in the Bible. (Okay, okay) Maybe you want to explain a bit more. 00:34:17.15\00:34:20.46 Yes, so a lot of people are interested in health these days 00:34:20.49\00:34:25.59 and I think also after the coronavirus epidemic I think 00:34:25.63\00:34:31.40 people are open to the message of health and we see that I'm 00:34:31.43\00:34:37.41 sure here in America but also where we live in Europe. And so 00:34:37.44\00:34:42.48 we thought that health would be an interesting angle to take on 00:34:42.51\00:34:46.92 the Bible because the Bible has so many things to say about 00:34:46.95\00:34:51.22 health. Everything from resting to diet, a plant-based diet the 00:34:51.25\00:34:59.86 advantages of that, the different health laws in the Old 00:34:59.89\00:35:04.00 Testament, like the quarantine laws, and hygiene laws, clean 00:35:04.03\00:35:11.04 and unclean meat. Also the benefits of having a 00:35:11.07\00:35:14.44 relationship with God, you know the peace that it brings and the 00:35:14.48\00:35:18.48 benefits to mental and emotional health. So all these things they 00:35:18.51\00:35:22.02 you find them in your Bible. When you read documents that 00:35:22.05\00:35:26.99 were written at the time the Bible was written some of them 00:35:27.02\00:35:31.99 you cannot help but laugh you know using cow dung as a 00:35:32.03\00:35:39.63 medicine or other strange things But we have nothing to be 00:35:39.67\00:35:43.61 ashamed of in the Bible. Everything that has been written 00:35:43.64\00:35:46.68 in the Bible about health makes sense today and is of benefit to 00:35:46.71\00:35:50.68 people. So we thought why not show these things about health 00:35:50.71\00:35:55.55 in the Bible and hope that it will strengthen people's trust 00:35:55.58\00:36:00.62 or build up the trust in the Bible. 00:36:00.66\00:36:02.62 Yes, amen. You know I think I would struggle with the cow dung 00:36:02.66\00:36:06.90 one. I don't know if I would want to take that medicine on 00:36:06.93\00:36:10.00 that one. But no that's incredible and so many people 00:36:10.03\00:36:14.07 need to learn about health. Like people are wanting good health. 00:36:14.10\00:36:19.34 You realize your need for Christ big time when you're stuck in 00:36:19.37\00:36:25.81 the hospital, the situation is out of your control, there's 00:36:25.85\00:36:28.52 nothing you can do and that's often when people are looking to 00:36:28.55\00:36:32.85 Jesus. Really we should be looking to Jesus the whole time. 00:36:32.89\00:36:35.52 Not when we get in these situations. But that is really 00:36:35.56\00:36:40.86 good to teach about health and the Bible and it goes along with 00:36:40.90\00:36:45.67 the mission and vision of your ministry because you're showing 00:36:45.70\00:36:51.27 people the validity of the Bible and how it's applicable to their 00:36:51.31\00:36:54.51 life. So that's really good, I love that, I love that. How do 00:36:54.54\00:37:00.25 you go about determining where you're going to film? 00:37:00.28\00:37:04.62 Yeah well obviously where the people are. So if they're from 00:37:04.65\00:37:12.96 Germany...I mean we like to be more on location wherever they 00:37:12.99\00:37:17.53 are. So you get to see their environment and many places 00:37:17.57\00:37:25.57 that they had in their story. The school they went to or the 00:37:25.61\00:37:31.51 different aspects so I think where they're from determines 00:37:31.55\00:37:36.52 more. Yeah so we love filming on 00:37:36.55\00:37:40.69 location and yes we have been blessed to see different places 00:37:40.72\00:37:47.03 but also been very blessed to make friends of the people that 00:37:47.06\00:37:52.03 we have to film. That has been a great bonus. Some of the 00:37:52.07\00:37:56.20 people that we have filmed we have not known previously but 00:37:56.24\00:37:58.41 we have become great friends. And with the documentary yes we 00:37:58.44\00:38:05.68 are following God's leading. So I think it will be guided by the 00:38:05.71\00:38:14.56 research that goes behind the documentary, where we're going 00:38:14.59\00:38:17.23 to film. We want to capture experts giving their knowledge 00:38:17.26\00:38:25.93 about the subject but also we want to also have stories, many 00:38:25.97\00:38:31.34 stories of people who have benefitted from living a healthy 00:38:31.37\00:38:36.81 lifestyle. 00:38:36.85\00:38:38.75 Mm-huh. That's going to be great That is going to be great. So 00:38:38.78\00:38:43.22 you like to film on location, you want to get the testimonies 00:38:43.25\00:38:47.59 and journeys of people who have benefitted from that health 00:38:47.62\00:38:53.23 counsel and get the experts to speak as well, yeah. Yeah that's 00:38:53.26\00:38:56.77 going to be powerful. Tell me about your role with the 00:38:56.80\00:39:01.10 ministry. What does a day in your life look like? 00:39:01.14\00:39:04.67 Well so my official title is communications director but I'm 00:39:04.71\00:39:13.05 also logistics so when we go out on the road, I'm the one who's 00:39:13.08\00:39:17.95 driving there and making sure we have you know the parking sorted 00:39:17.99\00:39:24.69 out, it's the food to eat for the crew, just all the practical 00:39:24.73\00:39:29.73 things so they can focus on the actual recording. And then with 00:39:29.76\00:39:36.77 communications I write to different broadcasting networks 00:39:36.81\00:39:39.37 and you know offer our programming and send files to 00:39:39.41\00:39:46.78 them, so... 00:39:46.82\00:39:49.15 Yes and we've been very happy that 3ABN has been focusing 00:39:49.18\00:39:54.96 journeys. That has been a tremendous blessing and thank 00:39:54.99\00:39:58.89 you so much. 00:39:58.93\00:40:00.26 Oh praise the Lord we're happy to hear it for sure. These are 00:40:00.30\00:40:02.90 powerful, powerful testimonies that everyone needs to check out 00:40:02.93\00:40:05.70 Everybody needs to check that out. And you are the writer and 00:40:05.73\00:40:10.44 producer. So what does it look like for you because people who 00:40:10.47\00:40:13.68 are sharing their stories but what kind of writing are you 00:40:13.71\00:40:16.85 doing and what's the role of a producer and what's that look 00:40:16.88\00:40:20.68 like? 00:40:20.72\00:40:22.05 Yes well I'm having fun in my work every time we do these 00:40:22.08\00:40:27.79 productions because I get to hear the stories first and I try 00:40:27.82\00:40:35.96 to keep their words so we do scripts, the stories. But we try 00:40:36.00\00:40:44.44 to keep their voice and their words and also we're starting to 00:40:44.47\00:40:53.18 think about how we can illustrate the story, a view we 00:40:53.21\00:40:58.72 want. So then we get together the team and we brainstorm about 00:40:58.75\00:41:02.72 that and plan that. And then it is also very interesting how God 00:41:02.76\00:41:10.97 brings us new ideas. As we go on location we see places that fit 00:41:11.00\00:41:16.67 the story perfectly but we didn't know about it and we 00:41:16.71\00:41:19.94 couldn't have known. And those new experiences they also they 00:41:19.97\00:41:26.15 strengthen our faith to see how God is leading us and how He's 00:41:26.18\00:41:29.88 helping us in the productions. 00:41:29.92\00:41:31.62 And then again it's God putting those puzzle pieces together the 00:41:31.65\00:41:35.92 missing pieces, I love it. How important is maintaining a solid 00:41:35.96\00:41:42.20 devotional life for you all? How important is that as you're 00:41:42.23\00:41:47.07 leading out in the ministry? 00:41:47.10\00:41:48.50 Yeah, well it's vital. If we're not connected to Christ then we 00:41:48.54\00:41:54.21 don't have power. You know we're just going on our own, our own 00:41:54.24\00:41:58.21 steam. But we need to continually get strength from 00:41:58.25\00:42:01.95 God, wisdom and guidance every day. 00:42:01.98\00:42:09.29 Yes as Daniel mentioned earlier we see the great controversy 00:42:09.32\00:42:14.46 at play when we do these productions. And sometimes when 00:42:14.50\00:42:19.23 there's a particularly hard issue may be something that has 00:42:19.27\00:42:23.81 has to do with the enemy we see that particularly that it is 00:42:23.84\00:42:33.62 very strong and we are humbled and we are in need of prayer. 00:42:33.65\00:42:38.29 And we have also seen how when we have come to a difficult 00:42:38.32\00:42:44.73 place, maybe we thought that okay we'll not be able to finish 00:42:44.76\00:42:48.06 this production because of some very thorny issues that have 00:42:48.10\00:42:50.80 come up how God has helped us and has brought it to a 00:42:50.83\00:42:55.20 resolution and we praise Him for that. 00:42:55.24\00:42:58.27 Amen, amen. We see the same thing here at 3ABN. We have 00:42:58.31\00:43:02.14 sometimes some random thing happen and it's nothing but the 00:43:02.18\00:43:06.11 enemy trying to hinder the progress of the gospel going 00:43:06.15\00:43:08.88 forward. But praise God, He's bigger than the enemy. He 00:43:08.92\00:43:13.76 triumphs every time. Yeah, yeah, so I love that. So getting back 00:43:13.79\00:43:20.23 to the documentary about health and the Bible. How long do you 00:43:20.26\00:43:27.47 think you want to make that? 00:43:27.50\00:43:30.97 Yes, that is a very good question. So our challenge will 00:43:31.01\00:43:36.31 be to restrain ourselves because there's so much to share and we 00:43:36.34\00:43:40.58 are so excited about the things that we have found in our 00:43:40.62\00:43:45.02 research. And so to decide exactly how to condense things 00:43:45.05\00:43:48.32 and how to focus will be a challenge but maybe an hour or 00:43:48.36\00:43:53.90 maybe two episodes. We have not decided yet, but... 00:43:53.93\00:43:57.40 Okay, you're answer's not set in stone today. It's not set in 00:43:57.43\00:44:02.17 stone, good deal. Okay. 00:44:02.20\00:44:04.27 But it will be a feature documentary so it's...Our 00:44:04.31\00:44:08.11 journeys have been 15 minute programs, but the documentary 00:44:08.14\00:44:15.35 will be longer. 00:44:15.38\00:44:18.65 Yes and about the 15 minutes, so we have seen how God has best 00:44:18.69\00:44:26.06 in showing these stories. If He leads and opens the door, we 00:44:26.09\00:44:31.83 would like to continue to make these and maybe do a season two 00:44:31.87\00:44:35.60 of journeys where we have perhaps longer stories. So maybe 00:44:35.64\00:44:43.24 do them in half an hour format. 00:44:43.28\00:44:44.88 Some stories already that we featured in the first season 00:44:44.91\00:44:48.48 we thought oh there's so many good things to tell and we only 00:44:48.52\00:44:52.29 have 15 minutes. Yes, we are praying about that. 00:44:52.32\00:44:56.62 So you've had to cut some down Oh man, that's tough, editing, 00:44:56.66\00:45:02.26 cutting things down like that, yeah. Mm-huh. 00:45:02.30\00:45:07.04 And even in how fast the talent speaks can effect. So you have a 00:45:07.07\00:45:13.44 script that's only 2000 words and if they speak fast or slow 00:45:13.48\00:45:18.41 then you know when you try to make up that time or cut it down 00:45:18.45\00:45:23.32 a little bit here and a little bit there. 00:45:23.35\00:45:25.35 Mm-huh, kind of massage it a little bit and get it just right 00:45:25.39\00:45:29.22 yeah, for sure. What are the needs of your ministry? 00:45:29.26\00:45:34.96 Well the prevailing number one is prayer. We need people to 00:45:35.00\00:45:40.90 pray for us. Yeah, without prayer we're not going to go 00:45:40.94\00:45:45.27 anywhere. 00:45:45.31\00:45:46.64 And not just for the production but that these journeys, the 00:45:46.68\00:45:52.05 testimonies that they will reach the intended audience and that 00:45:52.08\00:45:55.58 is people who are searching. And that comes with a lot of prayer 00:45:55.62\00:46:00.52 I think prayer is key here. And following up from that is where 00:46:00.56\00:46:07.93 we hope and pray that our viewers will get inspired to 00:46:07.96\00:46:12.37 share the stories with the people they know because we all 00:46:12.40\00:46:15.90 know people who have not given their lives to God or maybe are 00:46:15.94\00:46:20.31 unbelievers, and to share these stories. It only takes a little 00:46:20.34\00:46:24.11 click to just copy the link and send it on to someone. 00:46:24.15\00:46:28.15 That's right, that's right. Do you need any volunteers? Is that 00:46:28.18\00:46:32.12 a need? 00:46:32.15\00:46:33.99 Yes, we can always use help. Also if our viewers know of a 00:46:34.02\00:46:38.69 very good story of somebody who has maybe been an unbeliever and 00:46:38.73\00:46:44.73 have come to know God then we're always happy to hear from them. 00:46:44.77\00:46:49.44 Now what if someone lives in the United States. All right, how 00:46:49.47\00:46:54.24 can they share? Do they, I mean will you guys come to America? 00:46:54.28\00:46:57.78 (Absolutely) Or do they need to like be on Skype. How's that 00:46:57.81\00:47:03.28 work? 00:47:03.32\00:47:04.79 Absolutely. We're happy to travel to America. And I think 00:47:04.82\00:47:10.43 God has so many good stories here in America. So far we have 00:47:10.46\00:47:14.93 done stories of Europeans mainly but why not? God has brought so 00:47:14.96\00:47:22.37 many people to faith to Him through the Holy Spirit. 00:47:22.40\00:47:24.94 Absolutely, absolutely. Well I hope that our listeners and 00:47:24.97\00:47:29.94 viewers will get involved with the project that you have going 00:47:29.98\00:47:34.95 on and you're going to let us know when that documentary 00:47:34.98\00:47:37.92 becomes available, right? (Yeah, yes) Yeah, I want to see that 00:47:37.95\00:47:42.62 on health and the Bible. Okay. So just to recap a little bit 00:47:42.66\00:47:48.10 here. Writer and producer. So you help smooth things out and 00:47:48.13\00:47:54.44 communications and logistics and multiple hats. How do you 00:47:54.47\00:47:59.61 maintain the time management aspect? Because time can slip 00:47:59.64\00:48:03.78 away from you. How do you balance everything? 00:48:03.81\00:48:06.92 Yeah well it is a challenge and especially because we're running 00:48:06.95\00:48:13.12 a business that has to keep going and then when we do these 00:48:13.15\00:48:18.16 productions we don't get paid for them so once we start then 00:48:18.19\00:48:25.93 we have to finish them and we have to just keep going for them 00:48:25.97\00:48:31.24 And when you asked about needs it's something that we are yeah 00:48:31.27\00:48:36.44 we feel the need of funding our productions so that we can grow 00:48:36.48\00:48:42.45 and expand because right now we feel restricted by basically 00:48:42.48\00:48:49.72 time, how much time we can put into it. So it goes slower. 00:48:49.76\00:48:54.23 And so to be able to do them at the faster pace. That would be a 00:48:54.26\00:48:59.87 tremendous blessing. 00:48:59.90\00:49:01.44 Yes and also even marketing and all of that stuff, getting the 00:49:01.47\00:49:06.24 word out there. Word of mouth is a powerful, powerful tool but so 00:49:06.27\00:49:10.55 is Facebook, so are some of these other mediums to get it 00:49:10.58\00:49:14.18 out there but some of these things they cost. They take 00:49:14.22\00:49:17.32 resources and finances and stuff like that. 00:49:17.35\00:49:22.82 Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yes maybe we can share a story 00:49:22.86\00:49:24.26 from our last production about the car that wouldn't die. 00:49:24.29\00:49:30.20 Yeah so we have an old fish car with quite a few miles on it and 00:49:30.23\00:49:35.34 earlier this year I had this prayer about this car. 00:49:35.37\00:49:40.51 I said well if 00:49:40.54\00:49:42.28 it's going to take us through the summer travels then please 00:49:42.31\00:49:49.05 God you know either make it break before so we can have time 00:49:49.08\00:49:54.69 to fix it or can it just take us all the way through. So we're 00:49:54.72\00:49:59.19 on our way to Germany and about 280 miles in we hear this 00:49:59.23\00:50:04.83 horrible sound somewhere from the engine and we stop, we pray 00:50:04.87\00:50:12.87 we call a friend, mechanic friend and then we have no 00:50:12.91\00:50:19.15 other choice but to keep going. So we kept going even with all 00:50:19.18\00:50:25.49 these sounds coming from the car and we did the production. We 00:50:25.52\00:50:31.59 tried to use it as little as possible and we managed to get 00:50:31.63\00:50:38.03 all the way home. The car was still going. 00:50:38.07\00:50:42.60 And we were praying, Okay Lord please help us to get to this 00:50:42.64\00:50:44.77 next mile. If we can get to here and then we got home and then 00:50:44.81\00:50:52.55 two days later the car broke completely. 00:50:52.58\00:50:55.22 Yeah, it was not drivable. I couldn't drive it. 00:50:55.25\00:50:58.55 But the Lord helped it to go just as long as we needed to 00:50:58.59\00:51:05.09 get home and He was faithful. He was faithful in His promise 00:51:05.13\00:51:08.43 that He would provide for us. 00:51:08.46\00:51:09.80 Amen, amen. That's a tremendous answer to prayer. It was the 00:51:09.83\00:51:12.83 little engine that could by God's grace. He got you all the 00:51:12.87\00:51:17.51 way home. And you know that also shows that God wants to hear 00:51:17.54\00:51:20.41 from us. He wants us to pray for the things that we need. He 00:51:20.44\00:51:25.01 wants us to talk to Him about everything. There's no detail 00:51:25.05\00:51:28.98 too small that He doesn't want to hear. He cares about our 00:51:29.02\00:51:32.32 every need. (Amen) And that's a wonderful illustration of that 00:51:32.35\00:51:37.36 I can't believe our time is running out, it's escaping us. 00:51:37.39\00:51:41.56 We are going to go to an address roll and then a news break and 00:51:41.60\00:51:46.80 we will be right back. 00:51:46.84\00:51:50.44 If you would like to contact or know more about Adverum 00:51:50.47\00:51:54.11 Productions you can do so in the following ways: you can write 00:51:54.14\00:51:56.98 to them at c/o Outpost Centers International, 5132 Layton Lane 00:51:57.01\00:52:02.48 Apison, TN 37302.
