Welcome to 3ABN Today. My name is John Lomacang 00:01:07.40\00:01:10.33 but you know that if you've been here before. If you haven't 00:01:10.37\00:01:13.07 Remember this channel. We believe it's the channel 00:01:13.10\00:01:15.47 ordained of God as we continue going and growing getting ready 00:01:15.50\00:01:19.11 for the coming of Jesus. Today is a very thought-provoking 00:01:19.14\00:01:22.68 program. If you are anyone who knows anything about media. You 00:01:22.71\00:01:26.41 may not know that you know anything about media but if you 00:01:26.45\00:01:28.52 have a cell phone, if you've been on the internet, you might 00:01:28.55\00:01:31.35 have a television in your house. How strange is that in this day 00:01:31.39\00:01:34.06 and age. You may have been outside where you've heard other 00:01:34.09\00:01:36.59 sounds that came from speakers or cars or you've seen 00:01:36.62\00:01:39.76 television screens and massive billboards and you may have even 00:01:39.79\00:01:43.53 been a victim of some kind of false advertising. This program 00:01:43.57\00:01:47.44 is about how to protect yourself from all the wrong lights and 00:01:47.47\00:01:51.37 our guests today are from Little Light Studios. You'll find out 00:01:51.41\00:01:54.61 in just a moment who they are. But thank you for your prayers 00:01:54.64\00:01:57.21 and your financial support of this network as we continue 00:01:57.25\00:02:00.02 going and growing getting ready for the coming of Jesus. Well 00:02:00.05\00:02:03.39 today let me introduce our guests to you. I know who they 00:02:03.42\00:02:06.89 are already so I won't introduce them to myself. But to my right 00:02:06.92\00:02:10.23 is Brittny, good to have you here Brittny. 00:02:10.26\00:02:11.59 Thank you for having me. 00:02:11.63\00:02:13.23 I want to know your name. Now your name is French. Just give 00:02:13.26\00:02:16.56 me the right accent. How does that sound in French. What is it 00:02:16.60\00:02:18.97 My full name or my last name. (Your full name) Brittny 00:02:19.00\00:02:22.00 Desvarieux. 00:02:22.04\00:02:24.34 Okay thank you for telling me what that is. I want to honor 00:02:24.37\00:02:25.97 your name because people really slaughter mine. Good to have you 00:02:26.01\00:02:28.34 here today and what do you do for Little Light Studios? 00:02:28.38\00:02:30.41 So I'm the communications director and so I mainly work 00:02:30.45\00:02:33.25 with the social media and just our weekly newsletter that we 00:02:33.28\00:02:37.29 send out to our donors and just communicating what's going on 00:02:37.32\00:02:39.69 within the studios or within our ministry to the outside world. 00:02:39.72\00:02:47.30 Okay. We'll get back to you and we'll open that up a little bit 00:02:47.33\00:02:50.77 more as time goes on. Welcome back Scott. (Thank you) And your 00:02:50.80\00:02:54.70 last name? (Mayer) You are one of the veterans with the Little 00:02:54.74\00:02:58.54 Light Studio. Give us a little bit about what you do at the 00:02:58.57\00:03:00.91 Little Light. 00:03:00.94\00:03:02.28 I've been there a little while and it's been an absolute 00:03:02.31\00:03:04.65 privilege to see how God has really worked with this ministry 00:03:04.68\00:03:08.58 and really given us a voice with the young people of the church 00:03:08.62\00:03:12.12 and even beyond that. And so it's been neat to see all the 00:03:12.15\00:03:16.96 different people that have come on board. We're up to 10 now 00:03:16.99\00:03:21.13 and it's really neat. So we've got quite a few different minds 00:03:21.16\00:03:26.40 and we just like this collaborative you know spirit 00:03:26.43\00:03:29.50 of just working together to create something that inspires 00:03:29.54\00:03:32.67 somebody to do something. So I feel it's a privilege. I get a 00:03:32.71\00:03:36.64 chance to edit, shoot, create sets. I kind of wear a bunch of 00:03:36.68\00:03:41.05 hats so I got a bit of that going on. 00:03:41.08\00:03:44.05 Okay well welcome back. (Thank you) And we have Brad Burnham 00:03:44.09\00:03:46.82 Am I saying that correctly? (That's correct) And you are in 00:03:46.86\00:03:49.86 what position with Little Light? 00:03:49.89\00:03:51.23 Producer, editor, whatever they tell me to do, but mostly 00:03:51.26\00:03:55.20 producing and editing. 00:03:55.23\00:03:56.56 All right, well good to have you here and you're one of the newer 00:03:56.60\00:03:58.70 members on the scene. (Correct) All right. Before Brittny or 00:03:58.73\00:04:02.40 after. 00:04:02.44\00:04:04.54 Ooo I think I came after, yeah. 00:04:04.57\00:04:05.91 Okay so you're really the new kid on the block at least on 00:04:05.94\00:04:08.84 this program. And Keith. Say your last name for us. 00:04:08.88\00:04:14.62 (Detwieler) Detwieler. What nationality? Is that German? 00:04:14.65\00:04:16.79 Close. It's Swiss and if you go back to the old country, it 00:04:16.82\00:04:23.79 would actually, be pronounced Dotvieler. 00:04:23.83\00:04:26.80 See we're getting all the proper pronunciations. I appreciate 00:04:26.83\00:04:29.76 that but did I do yours right? (Absolutely) And how many ways 00:04:29.80\00:04:32.00 can you say, Mayer? 00:04:32.03\00:04:33.37 People butcher that all the time Maer. John Maer has ruined my 00:04:33.40\00:04:38.61 name. But it's like Metro Goldwyn Mayer or Oscar Mayer, 00:04:38.64\00:04:42.88 like that. 00:04:42.91\00:04:44.25 Yes you've been famous before your time. (Hopefully) 00:04:44.28\00:04:46.41 You know I have watched some of your product and I've really 00:04:46.45\00:04:50.82 been blessed by the collective, the collaborative efforts to 00:04:50.85\00:04:56.02 really keep not only the young minds safe but minds in 00:04:56.06\00:04:59.49 general I mean 00:04:59.53\00:05:01.36 at ASI, at general conference, I've gone by your booth, I've 00:05:01.63\00:05:04.07 watched your programs and I think you guys really are on the 00:05:04.43\00:05:07.64 cutting edge when it comes to addressing a lot of the issues 00:05:07.67\00:05:10.04 that we might say are contemporary issues today. 00:05:10.07\00:05:13.61 Because media could be good, could be bad depending on your 00:05:13.64\00:05:18.21 dosage of it and what it does to you. So I'll start with you 00:05:18.25\00:05:20.68 Scott. Since you've been here and you have a little bit of 00:05:20.72\00:05:24.79 veteran in your name tell us what inspired the beginning of 00:05:24.82\00:05:29.12 this ministry and why the phrase Little Light. 00:05:29.16\00:05:33.26 Um I took film studies in school wanting to actually end up in 00:05:33.29\00:05:37.37 Los Angeles working in television and so quickly 00:05:37.40\00:05:40.87 shortly after my college experience I actually ended up 00:05:40.90\00:05:43.51 in television for 10 years and that is primarily what led me 00:05:43.54\00:05:48.41 astray personally. Being a creative and wanting to make 00:05:48.44\00:05:53.45 those things for a living you kind of pay attention to 00:05:53.48\00:05:56.58 whatever everybody else is doing So I didn't grow up with a lot 00:05:56.62\00:05:59.32 of movies and television in my household. My parents were very 00:05:59.35\00:06:05.03 Adventist and traditional in their upbringing. You know we 00:06:05.06\00:06:07.03 were not encouraged. Most of us played outside all of my 00:06:07.06\00:06:09.96 brothers and I. And so when I started kind of really digesting 00:06:10.00\00:06:15.17 and eating up all the different movies of the world I believe I 00:06:15.20\00:06:17.81 was just kind of filling my time and my life with those messages 00:06:17.84\00:06:21.38 and that's what eventually choked out the truth out of my 00:06:21.41\00:06:24.68 life. So I think when I came back into the truth um I was 00:06:24.71\00:06:29.25 really kind of sharing with everybody else, hey this is 00:06:29.28\00:06:31.89 something that led me astray and this is what I've learned about 00:06:31.92\00:06:35.22 it. Hopefully, it can help you. And that's really what it began. 00:06:35.26\00:06:38.49 And Little Light really came out of...I had lots of friends in 00:06:38.53\00:06:44.90 Los Angeles that would talk to me about their Buddhist faith 00:06:44.93\00:06:48.44 and this faith and that faith and they were searching for 00:06:48.47\00:06:51.47 truth and here I had grown up and understood a lot of truth 00:06:51.51\00:06:55.51 from the Bible and I hid my light under my bushel and I 00:06:55.54\00:06:59.61 didn't share it with anybody. So coming back into the faith that 00:06:59.65\00:07:03.28 was really instrumental in us choosing a name with like Lord 00:07:03.32\00:07:06.59 I'm sorry for actually hiding the truth that I was taught as a 00:07:06.62\00:07:10.49 kid. I will never do that again. And that's where Little Light 00:07:10.53\00:07:12.83 came from. 00:07:12.86\00:07:14.20 Wonderful don't hide it under a bushel. (Singing) This little 00:07:14.23\00:07:16.87 light of mine... That was your mantra in a right way. 00:07:16.90\00:07:22.24 We thought about making one that was Satan sitting on a tack but 00:07:22.27\00:07:23.61 that didn't go over well. 00:07:23.64\00:07:26.81 Yeah well it was an idea but I'm glad you chose Little Light 00:07:26.84\00:07:30.25 because there's something shining about that name and it 00:07:30.28\00:07:33.75 really has been able to open the eyes of many. We're going to get 00:07:33.78\00:07:36.38 into some of the specifics in just a moment but Brad tell us 00:07:36.42\00:07:41.39 about you journey a little bit here and what inspired you to 00:07:41.42\00:07:44.56 get on board. 00:07:44.59\00:07:45.93 Sure will I'd been following them for quite a while but I was 00:07:45.96\00:07:47.80 actually out in Hawaii for a while doing a start-up company 00:07:47.83\00:07:50.17 and I kind of fell away from the faith quite a bit but after I 00:07:50.20\00:07:53.57 decided there was something different about a friend of mine 00:07:53.60\00:07:56.40 that I knew he said you know what you need to go to 00:07:56.44\00:08:01.24 evangelistic training program in Sacramento called AFCO. I went 00:08:01.28\00:08:04.68 out there and then I met Scotty up at Weimar, California, and he 00:08:04.71\00:08:08.78 was doing presentations out there and I said you know what 00:08:08.82\00:08:11.39 you've really got something here and it's really changed the way 00:08:11.42\00:08:15.29 I think about things and so me and him kind of kept in contact 00:08:15.32\00:08:18.26 for about about 10 years and as I worked out there for a while I 00:08:18.29\00:08:23.33 decided you know what I'd like to come back to Tennessee and be 00:08:23.37\00:08:27.97 with family because my family's based out here, so I gave Scotty 00:08:28.00\00:08:30.64 a call. 00:08:30.67\00:08:32.01 Okay, and he said get on board little children, get on board. 00:08:32.04\00:08:35.74 That's good because as we're going to find out in the program 00:08:35.78\00:08:39.08 about the specifics of what Little Light does and maybe even 00:08:39.11\00:08:41.82 address some of the topics you cover because as one who...if 00:08:41.85\00:08:47.52 you've been in any big city or any city now a days, matter of 00:08:47.56\00:08:51.46 fact you don't even have to be in the city. The city finds a 00:08:51.49\00:08:54.96 way to get to you. And I think that's what you're going to be 00:08:55.00\00:08:56.87 addressing here. But before we get to that part, Keith give us 00:08:56.90\00:08:59.20 some of your journey with Little Light Studios. I know you told 00:08:59.23\00:09:01.00 us about the position you hold but what inspired you to be a 00:09:01.04\00:09:05.07 part of this kind of ministry? 00:09:05.11\00:09:07.18 So probably right around the same time as Brad although we 00:09:07.21\00:09:10.05 didn't know each other, I had seen some presentations on 00:09:10.08\00:09:15.18 social media and they were of Scott when he was at Weimar the 00:09:15.22\00:09:19.52 same time frame that these guys were interacting. I don't know 00:09:19.55\00:09:22.02 what the time frame was on those being released and my seeing 00:09:22.06\00:09:25.43 them but they gave me the answer that I needed. So what I 00:09:25.46\00:09:32.23 experienced in my life is God was telling me three things. 00:09:32.27\00:09:34.77 You need to change what you're eating, you need to change what 00:09:34.80\00:09:40.18 you're watching and you need to be willing to move anywhere. 00:09:40.21\00:09:42.81 And these were preparatory steps for ministry. I knew that in my 00:09:42.84\00:09:46.28 own heart. And so those started to change and when I heard these 00:09:46.31\00:09:50.69 presentations by Scott I was like that's the antidote. That 00:09:50.72\00:09:53.52 was the reason of why you don't just let anything into your mind 00:09:53.56\00:09:56.69 So I always tell people what I heard was the three angels 00:09:56.73\00:10:00.50 message in those presentations. And I heard the message of the 00:10:00.53\00:10:04.77 sanctuary and I heard about the cleansing of my mind and I said 00:10:04.80\00:10:07.64 you know what that makes perfect sense. 00:10:07.67\00:10:10.71 Um-hum that's wonderful. I like the way you connected the 00:10:10.74\00:10:13.98 cleansing of my mind. You know Isaiah, cleanse your hands ye 00:10:14.01\00:10:17.68 sinners and purify your hearts you double-minded and wash 00:10:17.71\00:10:19.65 yourselves, make yourselves clean. Isaiah. And Peter talks 00:10:19.68\00:10:22.55 about that too. But that's very interesting because a lot of 00:10:22.58\00:10:26.55 people today don't recognize that, we use this phrase loosely 00:10:26.59\00:10:30.66 that the world is dumping into our minds. And there's really no 00:10:30.69\00:10:33.86 filter there especially when you're exposed to social media 00:10:33.90\00:10:36.46 and things are moving at the rate that they are today. You 00:10:36.50\00:10:39.17 know we want to go to the next G I don't know it's up to 5G, 00:10:39.20\00:10:44.17 maybe 6 but I've heard about 10G already and what that means in 00:10:44.21\00:10:47.58 this world today that just simply means to me, and we'll 00:10:47.61\00:10:51.68 talk about that some, that we could get our addiction 00:10:51.71\00:10:54.32 satisfied a lot quicker. So come back to you Scott. Talk about 00:10:54.35\00:10:57.99 some of the topics. Let's just go to the development of Little 00:10:58.02\00:11:00.82 Light and if you remember in the olden days what were some of the 00:11:00.86\00:11:05.39 early topics you addressed? 00:11:05.43\00:11:07.93 We were just excited. I mean it wasn't a forethought when we 00:11:07.96\00:11:11.67 began this process of really starting in a ministry actually. 00:11:11.70\00:11:13.77 We were just kind of sharing. We got asked to speak at a youth 00:11:13.80\00:11:18.01 rally about our experience of working Hollywood, so what we 00:11:18.04\00:11:21.34 put together...I was very actually pro-Hollywood. I was 00:11:21.38\00:11:27.25 very much interested in Hollywood and I was a collector 00:11:27.28\00:11:30.12 of movies and so I was putting in movies just to kind of get 00:11:30.15\00:11:31.92 some inspiration and in the center of a movie that I had 00:11:31.95\00:11:34.96 really been interested in there was this random scene in the 00:11:34.99\00:11:38.29 middle of the movie that said you have to consider the 00:11:38.33\00:11:39.89 possibility that God doesn't like you, in fact God hates you. 00:11:39.93\00:11:42.46 And then this actor said this huge monologue about how much 00:11:42.50\00:11:45.40 God dislikes me. And I put it on pause and I went what in the 00:11:45.43\00:11:50.11 world, like how did I not recognize that, I didn't see it. 00:11:50.14\00:11:52.24 So that caused me to really say well what's going on in the 00:11:52.27\00:11:54.81 brain that I can watch something and not understand or not hear 00:11:54.84\00:11:58.25 that? I grew up in the church. You know if you told me my mom 00:11:58.28\00:12:01.05 didn't like me I'd remember you or your face. So that's what we 00:12:01.08\00:12:05.35 were sharing with people and then once we started kind of 00:12:05.39\00:12:08.39 understanding like how the brain works and just looking at the 00:12:08.42\00:12:11.53 messages that were coming out I was a big fan of superhero 00:12:11.56\00:12:16.10 movies and you know all the latest and greatest kind of 00:12:16.13\00:12:18.33 popular things and it was amazing how many things attacked 00:12:18.37\00:12:22.84 God or took Biblical concepts and flipped them upside down. 00:12:22.87\00:12:26.01 So that's really what we started putting in our initial projects. 00:12:26.04\00:12:30.35 And as we started sharing those things you know people would 00:12:30.38\00:12:33.45 always say you know Oh I know maybe you don't watch a lot of 00:12:33.48\00:12:36.55 movies but my kids play video games. What do you know about 00:12:36.58\00:12:39.15 that. So then we'd kind of look into that subject and we'd find 00:12:39.19\00:12:42.06 you know wow there's a lot of spiritualism ideas put in there. 00:12:43.02\00:12:45.26 Then we put that together. And then they'd say oh well they 00:12:45.29\00:12:47.93 don't play video games we don't watch movies but you know I just 00:12:47.96\00:12:50.10 can't get my kids off the phones So then, what do you guys know 00:12:50.13\00:12:53.84 about social media. So then we would do projects on that. So 00:12:53.87\00:12:56.91 really our ministry kind of developed and a needed ability 00:12:56.94\00:13:01.68 to basically take the things that a lot of these young people 00:13:01.71\00:13:05.18 were interested in and then sort of kind of point out like here's 00:13:05.21\00:13:10.55 some dangerous, here's some things to think about here's 00:13:10.59\00:13:11.92 what the Bible says. This movie's telling you this but the 00:13:11.95\00:13:14.36 Bible says this. Sometimes they're not the same. And we 00:13:14.39\00:13:17.83 kind of developed really a focus of trying to get people to see 00:13:17.86\00:13:22.40 the world around them through the lens of the Bible and that's 00:13:22.43\00:13:25.57 I think what the most powerful thing with a young person is. 00:13:25.60\00:13:29.77 It's not just a book that was written 2000 years ago. It's 00:13:29.80\00:13:32.51 relevant and it has valuable, beautiful information for us 00:13:32.54\00:13:36.14 today. How do we apply it to the things that we have in our life 00:13:36.18\00:13:39.28 today? 00:13:39.31\00:13:40.65 That's interesting. Talk about your journey in Hollywood 00:13:40.68\00:13:43.05 because as you talked about you know coming out of a home where 00:13:43.08\00:13:46.92 you were shielded pretty much from a lot of the influences of 00:13:46.96\00:13:50.63 outside what made Hollywood addicting? 00:13:50.66\00:13:52.93 You know I think it was a curiosity, a fascination. Of 00:13:52.96\00:13:56.53 course as a kid I knew what Hollywood was. My friends had 00:13:56.56\00:14:00.54 TVs and I would go over to friend's houses and was exposed 00:14:00.57\00:14:03.74 to modern media in that way. Um but I didn't quite know what was 00:14:03.77\00:14:09.14 wrong with it. Um and when I got to Hollywood I quickly realized 00:14:09.18\00:14:14.92 there's a lot of people that aren't necessarily interested in 00:14:14.95\00:14:20.26 God, at least that's not their primary focus. And so I kind of 00:14:20.29\00:14:24.49 surrounded myself with people who really didn't care about God 00:14:24.53\00:14:27.53 whatsoever. We really became about making money or getting 00:14:27.56\00:14:32.60 famous or you know being successful in this world and 00:14:32.63\00:14:36.60 that's what became my focus. And I think the ultimate 00:14:36.64\00:14:39.51 demonstration of success at least publicly is to be famous, 00:14:39.54\00:14:43.88 right? Be successful. To be famous, to make a movie, 00:14:43.91\00:14:46.28 people really need 00:14:46.31\00:14:47.65 recognition, people really respect movie stars and so I 00:14:47.68\00:14:50.75 think I bit into that illusion not realizing there's a lot of 00:14:50.79\00:14:56.83 broken people that are chasing that. So as I started to explore 00:14:56.86\00:15:00.63 that, that's when God opened my eyes a little bit. 00:15:00.66\00:15:04.43 Brad do you want to add anything to that? Okay maybe I'll throw 00:15:04.47\00:15:05.80 it to Keith since you're the second longest-running person on 00:15:05.83\00:15:10.97 this program connected with Little Light. As you hear about 00:15:11.01\00:15:15.54 Scott's journey talk about your journey a little bit, how...I 00:15:15.58\00:15:18.31 know you talked about what interested you in Little Light 00:15:18.35\00:15:20.98 but then what do you see as a need in the world today as it 00:15:21.02\00:15:26.19 relates to pulling back the curtain, letting people see 00:15:26.22\00:15:31.03 what's behind the scenes, what's actually happening and how it's 00:15:31.06\00:15:34.53 affecting them. 00:15:34.56\00:15:35.90 Yeah, I mean everybody when they come to the truth of the Bible 00:15:35.93\00:15:40.34 they have to take that and reevaluate their life. They have 00:15:40.37\00:15:44.64 to say okay is this true or is what's around me true, what the 00:15:44.67\00:15:49.78 world is telling me true. And you have to make a decision 00:15:49.81\00:15:52.71 between those two things. One thing I think that ministries 00:15:52.75\00:15:57.65 like ours are doing is they're servicing people the option 00:15:57.69\00:16:00.96 of knowing versus not knowing. And so if we don't put the 00:16:00.99\00:16:05.46 information out there, there are people who may never know. We 00:16:05.49\00:16:09.10 get testimonies all the time of people who are writing and 00:16:09.13\00:16:12.10 saying you know what, you addressed this topic and because 00:16:12.13\00:16:15.27 of you addressing this topic it's completely changed my life. 00:16:15.30\00:16:18.87 And so that's why you know for us, it's started out as a 00:16:18.91\00:16:24.31 Hollywood thing but as it's progressed we have really moved 00:16:24.35\00:16:28.18 into pop culture, come current events and helping people see 00:16:28.22\00:16:33.66 the world through a Biblical lens. If we don't see it through 00:16:33.69\00:16:37.23 a Biblical lens you know that's going to make it very difficult 00:16:37.26\00:16:40.13 when things really heat up. 00:16:40.16\00:16:43.97 Okay I see Brad was shaking his head there. 00:16:44.00\00:16:45.60 Oh man, it just opens up so many topics when you just mention 00:16:45.63\00:16:50.37 that. The one that really sticking out that has come out 00:16:50.41\00:16:52.47 and is rearing its ugly head at us is this spiritualism topic 00:16:52.51\00:16:56.61 that has happened especially in modern media today. It's really 00:16:56.64\00:17:01.68 fascinating to see so many movies talking about the 00:17:01.72\00:17:05.65 different spiritual aspects of this. But whether you're talking 00:17:05.69\00:17:08.69 about magic, or whether you talk about the strange events that 00:17:08.72\00:17:12.86 are happening like recent government UAP (unidentified 00:17:12.89\00:17:16.13 aerial phenomenon) events that they're talking about recently 00:17:16.16\00:17:17.97 Define what that acronym means. 00:17:18.00\00:17:20.04 Unidentified aerial phenomena. (Okay) and so the government has 00:17:20.07\00:17:23.97 had, and this has been in the news very recently has had lots 00:17:24.01\00:17:28.48 of trouble with this among their most secret military operations. 00:17:28.51\00:17:31.85 So much so that it's gone to congress. And so we're seeing 00:17:31.88\00:17:35.68 this tie in from Hollywood media to what's in real life is 00:17:35.72\00:17:41.49 becoming a real-life problem. So it's really interesting to 00:17:41.52\00:17:45.33 see what's happening here. 00:17:45.36\00:17:47.30 Wow. In communications talk about what encourages you, I 00:17:47.33\00:17:52.90 mean we talked about in the beginning how you keep in touch 00:17:52.93\00:17:55.60 with the donors and all but what other aspect of Little Light 00:17:55.64\00:17:58.87 media impacts your life? 00:17:58.91\00:18:00.24 Um I think it's the fact that it is so...like we're seeing the 00:18:00.28\00:18:04.31 reach that we have. So how I actually came to Little Light 00:18:04.35\00:18:08.75 Studios I was actually a student missionary in Hong Kong even 00:18:08.78\00:18:11.39 thought I was like born and raised in America and the 00:18:11.42\00:18:13.82 ministry's based in America. I didn't actually know about them 00:18:13.86\00:18:16.09 till I was in Hong Kong. And so that's how...there was a youth 00:18:16.12\00:18:20.40 pastor who shared one of the videos that Little Light made 00:18:20.43\00:18:24.53 and it just became part of my Sabbath routine to watch their 00:18:24.57\00:18:27.77 LED Live. And then when I came I remember when I was watching 00:18:27.80\00:18:32.91 and I prayed. I was like God you know I'd love to help them with 00:18:32.94\00:18:35.18 their social media. So if I could get a job with them that 00:18:35.21\00:18:37.81 would be awesome. So I ended up coming back to the States and I 00:18:37.85\00:18:41.62 had I think one more year left before I graduated and I ran 00:18:41.65\00:18:46.59 into one of the producers, Mikey, at a bookstore, and then 00:18:46.62\00:18:51.76 they all just came together for me to be able to work. And so I 00:18:51.79\00:18:54.96 ended up begin able to work with social media and the joys of 00:18:55.00\00:18:58.80 that is that we're just seeing how our videos are making it to 00:18:58.83\00:19:03.77 other parts of the world and it's not necessarily Christians 00:19:03.81\00:19:06.74 Muslims, Buddhists, some atheists and you know they are 00:19:06.78\00:19:12.51 asking us questions that they feel like their church isn't 00:19:12.55\00:19:14.55 talking about. And so we've been able to minister to them. We 00:19:14.58\00:19:18.42 also have gotten in some really inspiring testimonies that have 00:19:18.45\00:19:22.92 come in as well, just how our videos have been impacting 00:19:22.96\00:19:25.29 people. So just like communicating with our 00:19:25.33\00:19:29.90 audience has been a real blessing. 00:19:29.93\00:19:31.93 Wow. You know Hollywood and we talk about putting this all 00:19:31.97\00:19:36.14 together...I'm going to come at it a little differently. 00:19:36.17\00:19:38.67 Hollywood has a message but it intentionally hides the gospel. 00:19:38.71\00:19:43.14 You know there's a passage I want to read this to you and I 00:19:43.18\00:19:45.81 want to get your reaction on it in light of what you do. You 00:19:45.85\00:19:48.38 know in 2 Corinthians 4 verse 3 it says you may look that up 00:19:48.42\00:19:53.25 since you have a Bible. It's really interesting. It says, But 00:19:53.29\00:19:55.12 even if our gospel is veiled it's veiled to those who are 00:19:55.16\00:19:59.73 perishing who's minds the God of this age has blinded who do not 00:19:59.76\00:20:04.53 believe lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ 00:20:04.57\00:20:08.90 who is the image of God should shine on them. So the reason 00:20:08.94\00:20:12.77 that came to my mind is lest the light of the gospel of the glory 00:20:12.81\00:20:16.58 of God...And so this light that you're turning on, you're 00:20:16.61\00:20:20.82 turning it on for those who the prince of this world has blinded 00:20:20.85\00:20:25.69 Because the gospel in a great degree in Hollywood is hidden. 00:20:25.72\00:20:29.09 We talked about that in the context of all the different 00:20:29.12\00:20:32.16 religions; you know Buddhist and you know when you hear about 00:20:32.19\00:20:36.83 somebody saying I want to thank God for this award they're not 00:20:36.87\00:20:41.77 thinking Jesus Christ. You know they have a different definition 00:20:41.80\00:20:44.97 for god. Talk about that in the context of when you're putting 00:20:45.01\00:20:49.24 your media together. Because here at 3ABN, we have this 00:20:49.28\00:20:51.85 phrase A slogan to counteract the counterfeit. Talk about that 00:20:51.88\00:20:57.59 in the context of this scripture the gospel being hidden but you 00:20:57.62\00:21:00.79 want to bring that back out. 00:21:00.82\00:21:02.52 Yeah, it really is amazing because I grew up with the 00:21:02.56\00:21:06.73 Adventist understanding, the Adventist faith, the things that 00:21:06.76\00:21:10.40 we hold as our understanding in the Bible. And I didn't know 00:21:10.43\00:21:15.40 that much about kind of what other churches really 00:21:15.44\00:21:18.11 believed in certain topics. And you know it's a really 00:21:18.14\00:21:22.38 interesting day and age because most of our work is on YouTube 00:21:22.41\00:21:26.15 and that's how we reach the young people. Well when you're 00:21:26.18\00:21:30.65 on there, you're not necessarily choosing a particular faith or 00:21:30.69\00:21:34.02 demographic. So we may mention something that we are all 00:21:34.06\00:21:37.66 familiar with, that we grew up believing or thinking and then 00:21:37.69\00:21:40.30 it's only through the comments that we realize, Oh wow, they 00:21:40.33\00:21:43.16 don't believe that or they don't see that. And it's really become 00:21:43.20\00:21:46.53 this opportunity but us to share light with them as the topic 00:21:46.57\00:21:52.77 comes up. They'll question. You read the comments and it's like 00:21:52.81\00:21:56.21 hey you mentioned something about you know the Sabbath. What 00:21:56.24\00:21:58.31 do you mean by that? Everybody goes to church on Sunday, you 00:21:58.35\00:22:00.68 know. Those kind of concepts that we can then show hey read 00:22:00.72\00:22:05.32 these verses or look at this and it becomes this like this 00:22:05.35\00:22:08.82 discipleship opportunity which is kind of neat. So a lot of our 00:22:08.86\00:22:14.70 audience is actually of a mixed variety of faiths. 00:22:14.73\00:22:18.93 It's very interesting when you have people...we had this, I 00:22:18.97\00:22:23.81 think I mentioned this on another program, but it's very 00:22:23.84\00:22:25.74 striking to me. We had couple write us who was contemplating 00:22:25.77\00:22:29.61 marriage. The lady was agnostic and her boyfriend was atheist. 00:22:29.64\00:22:34.88 They watch our program and they're writing us and asking 00:22:34.92\00:22:38.09 our thoughts about marriage. You just don't see that happen every 00:22:38.12\00:22:42.29 day. 00:22:42.32\00:22:43.66 I know. Especially from that demographic. 00:22:43.69\00:22:45.19 It's very unusual. And I also wanted to kind of tag team off 00:22:45.23\00:22:51.00 of something that you said. What Hollywood is producing what 00:22:51.03\00:22:55.14 the world is servicing is really a different kind of sermon, if 00:22:55.17\00:23:00.24 you will. One that's not the gospel. And it reminds me of 00:23:00.28\00:23:04.01 something that Paul says in Galatians 1. In verse 6, he says 00:23:04.05\00:23:07.12 you into the grace of Christ to a different gospel. (Okay) To a 00:23:10.05\00:23:14.09 different gospel. And it says, which is not another but there 00:23:14.12\00:23:16.59 are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of 00:23:16.62\00:23:19.69 Christ, which is exactly what we see in Hollywood media. It's a 00:23:19.73\00:23:24.53 perversion of the gospel of Christ. It's a modern form of 00:23:24.57\00:23:28.27 gnosticism. (Okay) And Paul warned them, he says: But even 00:23:28.30\00:23:33.61 if we or an angel from heaven which is fascinating language in 00:23:33.64\00:23:37.25 light of some of the things we are seeing today, preach any 00:23:37.28\00:23:40.22 other gospel to you than what we have preached to you let him be 00:23:40.25\00:23:41.82 accursed. That's not a pleasant flowery statement that Paul is 00:23:41.85\00:23:45.99 making. He's saying this is serious business. You have to 00:23:46.02\00:23:49.42 really know what the truth is because there are consequences 00:23:49.46\00:23:53.36 And of course, if you know what the truth is there are also 00:23:53.40\00:23:57.20 rewards. So. 00:23:57.23\00:23:58.83 So let's get into some of the media avenues. You talk about 00:23:58.87\00:24:03.87 social media. Define some of as you've presented through the 00:24:03.91\00:24:08.11 years in your videos and in your messages some of the pitfalls 00:24:08.14\00:24:13.52 that you see when media is not discretionary. In other words, 00:24:13.55\00:24:19.15 if a person just opens the door talk about some of those things 00:24:19.19\00:24:21.62 that you've addressed in particular age groups because 00:24:21.66\00:24:24.99 now the majority of society when they pass a certain age have a 00:24:25.03\00:24:29.56 cell phone. I mean it's almost like, Mom, I'm going to be 13 00:24:29.60\00:24:33.37 all my friends have a cell phone I need a cell phone. It's going 00:24:33.40\00:24:36.74 to be embarrassing if I don't have a cell phone. The pressures 00:24:36.77\00:24:38.37 of it. Talk about some of that for a moment. 00:24:38.41\00:24:40.34 You know media was probably much harder to get ahold of a variety 00:24:40.38\00:24:46.35 of things. Right? You had to either subscribe to that channel 00:24:46.38\00:24:48.48 or you know pay for that subscription to that particular 00:24:48.52\00:24:53.05 company like HBO or something like that, right? And that's how 00:24:53.09\00:24:58.59 you would kind of see the media. Or you would have to go to the 00:24:58.63\00:25:00.43 video store and rent the video, right? There was a process that 00:25:00.46\00:25:02.36 you really had to do. It's like everything is available at the 00:25:02.40\00:25:06.50 touch of a fingertip at this point. And what a lot of people 00:25:06.53\00:25:10.34 like to speak to what Keith was saying, people don't look at 00:25:10.37\00:25:15.64 their media as this is teaching me or giving me a message. What 00:25:15.68\00:25:19.21 is that message that this thing is relaying, right? I mean it 00:25:19.25\00:25:23.02 could be different for the different types of media. You're 00:25:23.05\00:25:24.62 playing a video game. Everybody is running around playing 00:25:24.65\00:25:27.46 Fortnite The purpose of it is to run around and shoot and kill 00:25:27.49\00:25:30.29 everybody and be the last person standing. What message is that 00:25:30.33\00:25:34.36 in the light of the Bible? Where in the book does it tell you you 00:25:34.40\00:25:37.90 should harm everybody else so that you're the only one 00:25:37.93\00:25:39.87 standing. Nowhere. So it's trying to swing their mind back 00:25:39.90\00:25:44.84 into what does this book here say and what is this media 00:25:44.87\00:25:48.34 really telling you. What's the message you're getting? 00:25:48.38\00:25:50.11 Everybody's dispensable if they are in your way. Make sure that 00:25:50.15\00:25:53.15 when all the chips are down you still, survive. So how does that 00:25:53.18\00:25:58.32 affect a person at different levels. I know we see a lot of 00:25:58.35\00:26:01.72 things happening in society today and any of you could 00:26:01.76\00:26:04.59 address this. Things that would have at a different time been 00:26:04.63\00:26:09.76 innocuous are today very deadly. Because of the conditioning of 00:26:09.80\00:26:15.17 certain types of games and I know you address games in some 00:26:15.20\00:26:18.47 of your videos. Talk about some of those games, you address to 00:26:18.51\00:26:22.68 try to point out the dangers of and I like the way you just said 00:26:22.71\00:26:28.58 that, of conditioning the mind and then when the video game is 00:26:28.62\00:26:34.96 no longer giving you the satisfaction, the dopamine 00:26:34.99\00:26:39.39 flooding, how do you seek to substitute that. Just anybody 00:26:39.43\00:26:42.66 here because we see some of these video games and we can see 00:26:42.70\00:26:46.23 the impact on society. 00:26:46.27\00:26:50.44 I'd say you know Fortnite is probably one of the best 00:26:50.47\00:26:53.38 I can mention and it's one of the best examples because they 00:26:53.41\00:26:57.28 try to lower the rating of the game by saying well there's not 00:26:57.31\00:27:01.75 actual blood. Well they just changed the color of the blood 00:27:01.78\00:27:03.89 and they make the characters more cartoon-like instead of 00:27:03.92\00:27:07.32 realistic like you would find in Call of Duty or something like 00:27:07.36\00:27:10.09 that. 00:27:10.13\00:27:11.79 There's a real high definition. 00:27:11.83\00:27:13.16 Yeah so because it's approached that it's more of a fantasy or a 00:27:13.19\00:27:17.40 cartoon and because they don't have the real blood, it's blue 00:27:17.43\00:27:20.10 instead of red. I think it's a more subtle deception than the 00:27:20.14\00:27:24.04 other. You know it looks less realistic and so you have 00:27:24.07\00:27:28.21 greater buy into the game and all kinds of people...I've even 00:27:28.24\00:27:32.65 read about hiring coaches for their children to get better at 00:27:32.68\00:27:37.92 that game. 00:27:37.95\00:27:39.29 I've heard about it but I've never actually seen it. Hey 00:27:39.32\00:27:43.99 that's a good thing. So the whole. Explain a little bit 00:27:44.03\00:27:48.06 about that. We don't want to increase anybody's inquisitive 00:27:48.10\00:27:50.43 desires to find out more about it. But just since you mentioned 00:27:50.47\00:27:53.87 that so the figures are not these high definition 4K 00:27:53.90\00:27:58.94 realistic pulsing figures look like humans. So that creates... 00:27:58.97\00:28:04.05 They still look like humans but it's like the difference between 00:28:04.08\00:28:06.38 a cartoon and an actual person. When you're playing something 00:28:06.41\00:28:08.75 like Call of Duty, I'm using that one because it's one of the 00:28:08.78\00:28:12.75 top games, everybody looks very realistic. Especially more and 00:28:12.79\00:28:16.02 more people are pushing the envelope with 3D technology and 00:28:16.06\00:28:19.56 they look very realistic. But Fortnite's not that way. And so 00:28:19.59\00:28:24.07 some of the things that they're doing allows them to lower the 00:28:24.10\00:28:27.00 rating just like you would on a movie you know. If you want 00:28:27.04\00:28:29.44 broader appeal most superhero movies are marketed to a PG-13 00:28:29.47\00:28:34.94 audience. There are some that market to a rated R audience but 00:28:34.98\00:28:39.15 it's rare. It's becoming more common but it's more rare. 00:28:39.18\00:28:41.45 Why do they want PG-13? Because they want all the 13-year-olds 00:28:41.48\00:28:44.95 to bring their parents you know and watch it. You get broader 00:28:44.99\00:28:47.09 appeal. That's what Fortnite is doing. With the broader appeal 00:28:47.12\00:28:50.79 you know you're still introducing this same idea 00:28:50.83\00:28:53.90 it just has as different face on it. 00:28:53.93\00:28:56.46 And it's really the spirit of what you're getting out of it, 00:28:56.50\00:29:02.07 right? There's a part of the game where it's like when you 00:29:02.10\00:29:05.07 kill somebody, you can dance over their body. I mean just 00:29:05.11\00:29:07.41 think about that logic. I mean it's just a subtle tiny slippery 00:29:07.44\00:29:13.28 slope to just disregard human life and...You know, we're not 00:29:13.31\00:29:16.92 getting more loving toward each other. We're waxing colder and 00:29:16.95\00:29:21.09 colder right? 00:29:21.12\00:29:22.46 Without natural affection. 00:29:22.49\00:29:23.83 Yeah, isn't that what Jesus said would happen in the end of time. 00:29:23.86\00:29:25.43 I want to read a verse to you that kind of answers that 00:29:25.46\00:29:28.36 question as well. Romans 1:32 (Okay, yeah) and this is a great 00:29:28.40\00:29:33.40 verse to really illustrate what is all this doing because 00:29:33.44\00:29:37.81 Hollywood's done a really good job at making us think well it's 00:29:37.84\00:29:41.64 fake. How can it really affect me. I know what the truth is. 00:29:41.68\00:29:44.55 I'm not going to go out and I'm not going to shoot people and 00:29:44.58\00:29:46.18 I'm not going to shoot people and kill them right? So what's 00:29:46.21\00:29:48.92 wrong with me watching someone else do that? 00:29:48.95\00:29:50.29 But as you see all the producers animator_. 00:29:50.32\00:29:55.66 And the reality is really showing that. There are a lot 00:29:55.69\00:29:58.29 of violent video games. Not everybody is running into malls 00:29:58.33\00:30:01.26 and shooting people. That's not the reality of the world. But I 00:30:01.30\00:30:05.47 think the Bible gives us an illustration that tells us 00:30:05.50\00:30:09.44 what's wrong with that in the big picture. Romans 1:32 says: 00:30:09.47\00:30:13.24 Who knowing the judgment of God they which commit such things 00:30:13.27\00:30:15.74 are worthy of death. Meaning if I run around and I shoot someone 00:30:15.78\00:30:20.32 there's a judgment in the grand picture that I am worthy of if I 00:30:20.35\00:30:26.09 do that action. But Paul takes it one step further and he says 00:30:26.12\00:30:29.09 Not only those that do the same but of those that have pleasure 00:30:29.12\00:30:33.09 in them that do that. So if I'm taking pleasure in somebody else 00:30:33.13\00:30:38.43 running around and shooting someone, watching a bank robbery 00:30:38.47\00:30:41.77 movie. I'm not the one that's robbing the bank. I'm just 00:30:41.80\00:30:43.87 watching them rob the bank and I'm hoping that they get away 00:30:43.91\00:30:46.31 with it. That spirit, I might as well, be doing it myself. And 00:30:46.34\00:30:50.91 that's why Jesus said you know if you're angry with your 00:30:50.95\00:30:54.22 brother you know you're worthy of the judgment of killing him, 00:30:54.25\00:30:56.95 right? 00:30:56.99\00:30:58.32 If you hate him you're already a murderer. 00:30:58.35\00:30:59.79 Yeah it's not like you have to go out and complete that action 00:30:59.82\00:31:02.39 I can actually be a desire that then becomes an issue. So I 00:31:02.42\00:31:08.36 think the devil has created this device where we watch sinful 00:31:08.40\00:31:11.03 things or wicked things. We take pleasure in it even though we 00:31:11.07\00:31:14.77 think we're not doing it but yet the Bible tells us if we're 00:31:14.80\00:31:18.37 taking pleasure in those things you would be judged for then 00:31:18.41\00:31:21.54 you're worthy of that same judgment. 00:31:21.58\00:31:23.38 (Wow) Tag teaming off of that you know Jesus also said in that 00:31:23.41\00:31:28.02 same passage if you look after a woman and lust, you know, lust 00:31:28.05\00:31:30.65 after in your heart, it's the same as committing adultery. 00:31:30.69\00:31:32.95 With social media and having access to all these devices 00:31:32.99\00:31:39.29 there's been a huge increase in pornography. In fact the top 00:31:39.33\00:31:45.10 pornography website I was reading had I think more traffic 00:31:45.13\00:31:49.40 than Instagram. More traffic than Instagram. Instagram is a 00:31:49.44\00:31:54.31 huge site. I mean Facebook paid a billion dollars for that 00:31:54.34\00:31:57.88 platform several years ago. 00:31:57.91\00:31:59.48 You mean that's how much they paid to get Instagram. 00:31:59.51\00:32:03.05 That's how much they paid just to get Instagram. Now it's worth 00:32:03.08\00:32:04.65 many times more than that now. But more traffic than that app 00:32:04.69\00:32:09.76 that so many people are on. That's a huge problem. That's an 00:32:09.79\00:32:14.20 epidemic right there. (Yeah) And so we have access to all 00:32:14.23\00:32:18.73 these things but it's like the tree of knowledge of good and 00:32:18.77\00:32:22.64 evil. You have access to it but it doesn't mean that we should 00:32:22.67\00:32:26.17 be partaking of it. 00:32:26.21\00:32:28.54 That's a very good analogy. Anything Brittny. 00:32:28.58\00:32:30.08 Yeah, we also have the documentary called Pseudology 00:32:30.11\00:32:33.48 that actually goes in... 00:32:33.52\00:32:34.88 Called what? 00:32:34.92\00:32:36.25 Pseudology. (Pseudology) Pseudology (Okay) 00:32:36.28\00:32:38.32 The art of lying. And so it really just talks about the 00:32:38.35\00:32:41.99 harmful effects of media not just on the spiritual end but 00:32:42.02\00:32:45.33 also the scientific end. (Lying) Yeah. (Continue) 00:32:45.36\00:32:49.93 And so in that documentary it mentions that your brain 00:32:49.96\00:32:55.10 actually...like there was an experiment that was done, your 00:32:55.14\00:32:57.74 brain actually cannot tell the difference between like you 00:32:57.77\00:33:01.08 watching something and you actually doing it. Like I think 00:33:01.11\00:33:02.44 your brain lights up the same way and so just in light of the 00:33:02.48\00:33:05.85 scripture that we just read like science can back that up as well 00:33:05.88\00:33:09.58 Wow. When you mention this a little light came on to a 00:33:09.62\00:33:15.76 commercial that you know when you watch television sometimes 00:33:15.79\00:33:18.03 the commercials like, I don't need to see that commercial, 00:33:18.06\00:33:21.83 there's a show, I don't know if it's still on or not but it says 00:33:21.86\00:33:25.53 How To Commit Murder and Get Away With It. That's the title 00:33:25.57\00:33:29.04 of the program. I don't know which one of the networks it's 00:33:29.07\00:33:31.87 on. Who would want (see that) Hey Mom, how to commit murder 00:33:31.91\00:33:38.45 and get away with it. You know you can kill Daddy and nobody 00:33:38.48\00:33:41.68 would know about it. I mean I'm not trying to be facetious here 00:33:41.72\00:33:44.45 but that's what it's in essence saying. There's somebody in 00:33:44.49\00:33:48.02 school you don't like. Let's watch that episode tonight 00:33:48.06\00:33:51.33 and may you can kill them and get away with it. I mean that's 00:33:51.36\00:33:54.16 the mindset that is slowly degrading the conscious mind the 00:33:54.20\00:33:59.70 natural affection is going away. And I think that's why we see 00:33:59.73\00:34:03.91 the crimes becoming more brutal and as the Bible says and Paul 00:34:03.94\00:34:09.54 says, Evil men will wax worse and worse. You know evil men and 00:34:09.58\00:34:13.48 seducers. And so that's the category of media now days. 00:34:13.52\00:34:17.89 Instagram, I mean that statistic blows me away that billion 00:34:17.92\00:34:22.02 dollars for Instagram. Now what about some of the other ones 00:34:22.06\00:34:24.49 in a moment here? 00:34:24.53\00:34:25.86 So you know one of the popular social media sites today is 00:34:25.89\00:34:29.40 Tik Tok. That's where a lot of the young kids are digesting 00:34:29.43\00:34:32.70 I mean hours. They're staying up till four o'clock in the morning 00:34:32.73\00:34:36.04 because they can't get rid of it they can't turn it off. So we're 00:34:36.07\00:34:39.64 not only messing with you know terrible content but it's 00:34:39.67\00:34:44.28 actually biologically addicting to the point where they don't 00:34:44.31\00:34:48.08 have the capacity to stop it. And Wall Street Journal did a 00:34:48.12\00:34:54.19 research on what kind of content is being exposed to these young 00:34:54.22\00:34:59.06 people and they made a bunch of, thousands, of fake accounts for 00:34:59.09\00:35:03.13 13-year-olds and what they found is just within a matter of 00:35:03.16\00:35:07.70 signing up, tell them you're 13, because the way it works is you 00:35:07.74\00:35:10.74 like a picture and then the algorithm learns what you like 00:35:10.77\00:35:13.04 and suggests things to you and these fake accounts at the Wall 00:35:13.07\00:35:17.81 Street Journal came up with they would within one or two clicks 00:35:17.85\00:35:22.58 were suggested pornography to a 13-year-old and they were shown 00:35:22.62\00:35:25.95 straight to the site. So it's like they created these devices 00:35:25.99\00:35:29.82 that are messing with the biology of our brains. Almost 00:35:29.86\00:35:33.53 operating in the same manners of like gambling you know the 00:35:33.56\00:35:37.50 reward system of our brain and then feeding them terrible 00:35:37.53\00:35:41.80 things that they may have a lifetime of addiction to. It's 00:35:41.84\00:35:44.87 really something that we feel called to share some light on 00:35:44.91\00:35:49.01 this. Parents be aware of this stuff. Do some research. I mean 00:35:49.04\00:35:51.98 you don't have to just listen to what we have to say about it. 00:35:52.01\00:35:54.15 But do some research. If your child is into this particular 00:35:54.18\00:35:58.22 piece of media or uses this social media. I mean just do a 00:35:58.25\00:36:01.96 little digging. Is there anything alarming that you 00:36:01.99\00:36:04.89 notice anything and that's pretty much what we've found 00:36:04.93\00:36:07.96 real fast. 00:36:08.00\00:36:09.40 I think it's fascinating because we've seen a slide in society 00:36:09.43\00:36:13.34 even in the way, things are rated because what you said is 00:36:13.37\00:36:16.81 absolutely correct. It's a form of pornography but according to 00:36:16.84\00:36:19.51 the way that the world identifies it today it's not. 00:36:19.54\00:36:23.28 But guarantee it you take it 50 years ago and it would not have 00:36:23.31\00:36:27.68 been allowed. But right now it's still on the app because it is 00:36:27.72\00:36:32.65 just slightly above or covered enough that they will allow it. 00:36:32.69\00:36:37.29 But it's definitely, definitely pushing people in that direction 00:36:37.33\00:36:40.23 Yeah, good Keith. 00:36:40.26\00:36:42.53 I was just going to say you took a step back on all of this and 00:36:42.56\00:36:44.57 you looked at media in general. You say you know what this is a 00:36:44.60\00:36:47.57 mass communication tool. If you were Satan what would you want 00:36:47.60\00:36:52.27 to do? You would want to have mass communication. But to keep 00:36:52.31\00:36:56.01 people plugged into that communication you'd want them 00:36:56.04\00:36:58.41 addicted somehow. 00:36:58.45\00:36:59.78 Let me give you a title real quick. This is an upcoming video 00:36:59.81\00:37:03.59 you're going to put together. Mask Communication. 00:37:03.62\00:37:06.15 There you go. Love it. 00:37:06.19\00:37:08.82 Yeah. Coming 2023. 00:37:08.86\00:37:11.46 So you keep them addicted so that they stay continually 00:37:11.49\00:37:14.13 plugged in, right? If you know anything about the history of 00:37:14.16\00:37:17.37 media you'll know that there was a man named John Logie Baird and 00:37:17.40\00:37:22.37 he was a pioneer in broadcast TV One of the things he used to do 00:37:22.40\00:37:27.14 is he used to go to séances every night and in that the 00:37:27.18\00:37:33.75 mediums would be contacting spirits that wanted to help him 00:37:33.78\00:37:38.55 develop television. If you know the truth of the Bible you know 00:37:38.59\00:37:43.22 that those mediums and those spirits these aren't dead 00:37:43.26\00:37:46.86 inventors. They're demons. So you're going to have to ask 00:37:46.90\00:37:49.36 yourself a question, Why do demons want to help develop 00:37:49.40\00:37:54.57 television? 00:37:54.60\00:37:55.94 Mass Communication. 00:37:55.97\00:37:57.34 Mass communication right? It's not that the platform itself is 00:37:57.37\00:38:00.28 inherently evil. It can definitely be used for good 00:38:00.31\00:38:03.31 things. But in other words what we're seeing is Satan 00:38:03.35\00:38:06.61 sees the potential and so 00:38:06.65\00:38:08.95 he's going to use that potential for his, his, you know what 00:38:08.98\00:38:14.22 Mrs. White said was his master piece of deception. And so he's 00:38:14.26\00:38:19.09 using this and keeping people engaged and addicted because he 00:38:19.13\00:38:21.13 has a message that he's going to put out in the end times to 00:38:21.16\00:38:25.97 everyone and if you've got all these people you know on all 00:38:26.00\00:38:28.80 these platforms they can't get away from them and their minds 00:38:28.84\00:38:32.87 are being corrupted so that they can't tell between what's good 00:38:32.91\00:38:35.41 and what's evil, gotcha. 00:38:35.44\00:38:37.81 It's a burgeoning creation and I'm glad you brought up Tik Tok 00:38:37.85\00:38:43.42 because it seems like if you mention My Space that just 00:38:43.45\00:38:48.56 sounds like did that come out in 1947, it seems so long ago. You 00:38:48.59\00:38:52.73 know. Are you on My Space? You don't ask that question any 00:38:52.76\00:38:55.33 longer. What is that? The changes for the next new 00:38:55.36\00:39:00.14 platform and while we're sitting here some team somewhere is 00:39:00.17\00:39:03.74 trying to come up with a competitive to Tik Tok and the 00:39:03.77\00:39:07.71 whole purpose of it is to get them addicted to that platform 00:39:07.74\00:39:11.68 and it's almost a race. How can we...Because what else would be 00:39:11.71\00:39:16.42 behind paying a billion dollars for a platform other than you 00:39:16.45\00:39:19.39 want to benefit from all the addicted people, people that are 00:39:19.42\00:39:23.86 addicted to that platform. Why would I pay a billion dollars? 00:39:23.89\00:39:25.69 Because that's a lot of advertising, presumably money 00:39:25.73\00:39:29.90 that will come to me. And advertisers know if I can keep 00:39:29.93\00:39:33.10 people watching then I can slip my advertisements in there and 00:39:33.13\00:39:35.77 sell products. But that's interesting how they do that. 00:39:35.80\00:39:39.94 It chisels away at the conscious mind. 00:39:39.97\00:39:43.45 Yeah. They say that you know these things aren't products. 00:39:43.48\00:39:46.35 And they say that you are the product. 00:39:46.38\00:39:49.28 You know I was just going to say that I saw a video not too long 00:39:49.32\00:39:51.92 ago called ooo ah... 00:39:51.95\00:39:53.29 I know which one you're talking about. They said whenever 00:39:53.32\00:39:58.33 something is free you are the product. It was... 00:39:58.36\00:40:04.50 Social Dilemma. Oh you got a social dilemma. And people that 00:40:04.53\00:40:08.04 had participated in creating some of these platforms actually 00:40:08.07\00:40:11.27 looked back in regret and they said my kids don't have cell 00:40:11.31\00:40:14.64 phones. We don't have television in our house. We go outside and 00:40:14.68\00:40:17.71 play. We created this. We know what it does. We are not letting 00:40:17.75\00:40:22.18 our children get affected by it. But then we have a whole society 00:40:22.22\00:40:26.29 Addictions. I think you may have heard of the man Simon Sineck. 00:40:26.32\00:40:31.59 And he says to give a kid a cell phone nowadays, do you remember 00:40:31.63\00:40:36.26 the analogy he connected it to? Here's a bottle of alcohol, have 00:40:36.30\00:40:41.24 at it. No age limit. He said it's worse now days getting a 00:40:41.27\00:40:45.51 cell phone. Not the device in and of itself is dangerous but 00:40:45.54\00:40:49.24 the filtration of it...Oh here's what I was going to say. And 00:40:49.28\00:40:52.05 when you talk about this it brought back to my mind...my 00:40:52.08\00:40:54.05 wife and I went to New York City not too long ago driving around 00:40:54.08\00:40:56.69 you know from Brooklyn so there's a strong Jewish sector 00:40:56.72\00:40:59.89 of Brooklyn. You know they live in communities and I noticed 00:40:59.92\00:41:02.76 that the Hasidic Jews the majority of them had flip phones 00:41:02.79\00:41:07.43 You might want to do a video... They had flip phones and I kept 00:41:07.46\00:41:10.03 saying to my wife...They all have flip phones. They all have 00:41:10.07\00:41:17.27 flip phones. And I went to the Google, Jewish flip phones, and 00:41:17.31\00:41:23.65 they do that to prevent their children from accessing these 00:41:23.68\00:41:28.32 platforms because they say it lets the world in. The only ones 00:41:28.35\00:41:32.85 that are allowed to have the phones that can access media are 00:41:32.89\00:41:36.52 the businessmen for business purposes. But everyone, all the 00:41:36.56\00:41:40.60 men I saw with flip phones and I said this is not an anomaly 00:41:40.63\00:41:44.30 this is actual intentional. And I thought about that. What would 00:41:44.33\00:41:47.97 happen today to the media platforms if parents said you 00:41:48.00\00:41:51.11 know what we're going to go back to a phone the purpose of it is 00:41:51.14\00:41:53.88 to call me not to access the... What would happen? What do you 00:41:53.91\00:41:56.98 think? 00:41:57.01\00:41:58.75 Yeah, you know, I imagine that it's a bit like losing your 00:41:58.78\00:42:00.95 phone you feel like you know like oh no you know my life is 00:42:00.98\00:42:04.32 going to fall apart today. I think we've been so conditioned 00:42:04.35\00:42:07.16 that we need this access to technology. You know I heard 00:42:07.19\00:42:11.59 a statistic that was saying we have access to the world 00:42:11.63\00:42:17.40 libraries at our fingertips and we have access to more 00:42:17.43\00:42:20.10 information in one day that someone in the early 1900s had 00:42:20.14\00:42:23.94 in their entire lifetime. So we can just literally speak to our 00:42:23.97\00:42:27.28 phone, give me this piece of information, and brrr it spits 00:42:27.31\00:42:29.44 it right out right? Um but I really think that where these 00:42:29.48\00:42:34.58 things can be a blessing the devil can also easily twist it 00:42:34.62\00:42:39.79 use it for a curse and I think as we are moving into a more 00:42:39.82\00:42:45.19 technologically advanced society I mean you start looking at you 00:42:45.23\00:42:48.23 know where they're wanting to go with the Mediverse and tapping 00:42:48.26\00:42:50.40 everybody in with this really crazy VR (virtual reality) 00:42:50.43\00:42:54.57 technology I really do...that's why I go back to the Bible and 00:42:54.60\00:42:57.51 I read the words and it says you know if Jesus didn't come 00:42:57.54\00:43:00.88 quickly no flesh would be saved. I think if time were to go on 00:43:00.91\00:43:04.11 far enough we would create so many devices that literally we 00:43:04.15\00:43:08.15 would all be lost. 00:43:08.18\00:43:10.89 We would physiologically implode People would just explode on the 00:43:10.92\00:43:14.06 street because they are overloaded and I think that like 00:43:14.09\00:43:16.96 a machine we'd just cease to function. Keith, anyone, you 00:43:16.99\00:43:22.80 want to add something to this? 00:43:22.83\00:43:24.17 We are digressing as a society. Evolution says we are increasing 00:43:24.20\00:43:28.10 as a society and it's an exact opposite of what's going on in 00:43:28.14\00:43:31.74 those two theories. And so as you can see I mean our idea or 00:43:31.77\00:43:37.35 God's plan original plan is completely different than man's 00:43:37.38\00:43:40.78 plan. 00:43:40.82\00:43:42.15 One of the challenges I see today with parents. You know you 00:43:42.18\00:43:44.45 go out and speak and you get these questions like, Well what 00:43:44.49\00:43:47.66 do I do? And that's a tough thing because we have introduced 00:43:47.69\00:43:51.36 a lot of technology perhaps at a young age when the mind is still 00:43:51.39\00:43:54.80 developing and one of the things I see that's a big problem is 00:43:54.83\00:43:58.57 self-control which is one of the fruits of the Spirit, it's the 00:43:58.60\00:44:02.40 last one listed in Galatians. So I find with my children what I 00:44:02.44\00:44:07.14 am really trying to teach is self-control because what 00:44:07.18\00:44:13.11 happens when the child wants to use that platform or they have 00:44:13.15\00:44:16.69 to use it for school or for whatever purpose and you haven't 00:44:16.72\00:44:20.66 taught them self-control at home and they go out into the world 00:44:20.69\00:44:22.32 and they lack that virtue and then they become a slave. And so 00:44:22.36\00:44:28.63 I have these conversations with my oldest in particular all the 00:44:28.66\00:44:31.10 time and just the other day we we're talking about it in the 00:44:31.13\00:44:32.60 car I was like look I am trying to teach you self-control. That 00:44:32.63\00:44:37.01 is more important to me that you have that than you know if you 00:44:37.04\00:44:41.34 know how to use this device or you have it or you don't have it 00:44:41.38\00:44:44.25 because you're going to have to use some kind of piece of 00:44:44.28\00:44:46.72 technology when you go out into the world to work. You have to 00:44:46.75\00:44:49.42 be able to manage. Well the way we manage is with the Spirit of 00:44:49.45\00:44:52.95 God giving us self-control so we need to help instill that into 00:44:52.99\00:44:57.16 our children. 00:44:57.19\00:44:58.69 Mmm that's a very good analogy about self-control. You know 00:44:58.73\00:45:01.13 there's a text in Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good 00:45:01.16\00:45:04.37 and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness 00:45:04.40\00:45:08.47 bittersweet and sweet for bitter. That's the battle right 00:45:08.50\00:45:11.94 there, the controversy. Okay this is good but it's also evil. 00:45:11.97\00:45:13.88 It's light but it's also darkness, it's sweet but it's 00:45:13.91\00:45:16.48 also bitter and that's the devices we have in our hands 00:45:16.51\00:45:19.31 today because as you know we are a media organization. We have 00:45:19.35\00:45:21.88 social media apps. We have 3ABN plus. There's Amazing Facts, 00:45:21.92\00:45:27.76 there's It Is Written. There's so much good but on the same 00:45:27.79\00:45:30.43 fountain, the knowledge is there 00:45:30.46\00:45:33.86 I want to point just something out about the people that are 00:45:33.90\00:45:36.67 sitting in this room. She watched a video, he...you know 00:45:36.70\00:45:40.84 Brother Keith, he watched a video. I mean the power that we 00:45:40.87\00:45:43.74 can share the gospel and use the tool is there but the difference 00:45:43.77\00:45:48.81 is how do you distinguish between the two and I feel like 00:45:48.84\00:45:52.08 that discernment is what we're really after, trying to get 00:45:52.11\00:45:55.25 people to decide. How do you know what you should listen to 00:45:55.28\00:45:58.75 and what you shouldn't. And we also know that the enemy is 00:45:58.79\00:46:03.59 roaring around, right? He literally is like speaking to us 00:46:03.63\00:46:07.20 through these devices. Are we listening to the voice of Jesus 00:46:07.23\00:46:10.83 and that shepherd or are we listening to the voice of the 00:46:10.87\00:46:13.07 enemy? I think that's a bigger conversation too with the media. 00:46:13.10\00:46:18.07 Okay. There's lots of work to do and I think what the Bible says 00:46:18.11\00:46:21.54 as Jesus said, the workers are few. A lot more workers working 00:46:21.58\00:46:25.15 right now for the opposite team or they might not even know 00:46:25.18\00:46:28.42 they're working for the opposite team. But we need more people 00:46:28.45\00:46:30.99 working in media for the right reason. 00:46:31.02\00:46:32.72 And then in the midst of all of that along come artificial 00:46:32.75\00:46:36.59 intelligence who works for no one but works for everyone. 00:46:36.62\00:46:40.30 It loses the pathos and the compassion of a human and it's 00:46:40.33\00:46:46.07 just programmed to produce. Somebody was talking about that 00:46:46.10\00:46:49.30 the other day. We were driving through Florida. All the people 00:46:49.34\00:46:52.11 that used to collect holes don't work anymore. It's all lights, 00:46:52.14\00:46:55.98 camera, action. Just drive through and that's what's 00:46:56.01\00:46:58.11 happening to the world. It's not slowing down. It's speeding up. 00:46:58.15\00:47:00.85 So in the time, we have remaining let me have you make 00:47:00.88\00:47:04.52 some recommendations because I want to be able to let our 00:47:04.55\00:47:07.16 viewers and listeners know that you are available to come and do 00:47:07.19\00:47:10.26 seminars for their churches, for their schools, for their 00:47:10.29\00:47:13.16 colleges because it's not going to get less engaging. We're 00:47:13.19\00:47:16.90 entering into an area where it's becoming more engaging. Matter 00:47:16.93\00:47:21.37 of fact, all that has to happen for a person to feel like they 00:47:21.40\00:47:25.04 have lost relevance, I forgot my phone on the airplane. It's like 00:47:25.07\00:47:29.31 the whole world just came to an end. Talk about how we can help 00:47:29.34\00:47:32.25 and what are some of the ways that even the viewers can help 00:47:32.28\00:47:36.15 in you going forward and advancing in creating more 00:47:36.18\00:47:39.45 content and expanding Little Light Studios' impact? 00:47:39.49\00:47:42.62 Sure you know we would solicit your prayers. You know I think 00:47:42.66\00:47:46.49 this is a...sometimes it feels like an uphill battle. No young 00:47:46.53\00:47:51.07 person wants to know that the thing that they think is fun is 00:47:51.10\00:47:54.44 potentially spiritually damaging So you know it's a hard and 00:47:54.47\00:47:57.31 difficult demographic of people to speak to but we really feel 00:47:57.34\00:48:01.94 passionate about this so pray for us. Another thing too is if 00:48:01.98\00:48:05.88 you have young children I mean really spend some time 00:48:05.91\00:48:09.68 learning about these things. There's a lot of information on 00:48:09.72\00:48:11.45 the internet. We have had how many videos, 400 videos on 00:48:11.49\00:48:17.19 YouTube we have put out on this kind of stuff. So you know check 00:48:17.23\00:48:20.43 out our YouTube page. Just type in Little Light Studios onto 00:48:20.46\00:48:24.27 YouTube and you will see all the topics that we've handled 00:48:24.30\00:48:27.40 and dealt with. And then you know if you have any desire to 00:48:27.44\00:48:33.98 help us you know like Brad said we are only a few and God has 00:48:34.01\00:48:39.45 really added to our team but sometimes we feel like we're 00:48:39.48\00:48:41.58 throwing a rock into the ocean. It's a big world out there and 00:48:41.62\00:48:45.32 we need more of us and you know I believe God is making a last 00:48:45.35\00:48:50.33 call so if you have any desire to help we would love it. 00:48:50.36\00:48:55.36 Thank you, Scott. Now Brittny from the social media 00:48:55.40\00:48:57.50 perspective. What can you say to our viewers to encourage them to 00:48:57.53\00:49:00.24 get engaged more with Little Light Studios? 00:49:00.27\00:49:02.44 Yeah so I think in this day and age so digital we're called to 00:49:02.47\00:49:06.88 be digital missionaries and so something as simple as sharing 00:49:06.91\00:49:10.78 our content with friends, family You know you have the power to 00:49:10.81\00:49:14.42 change up someone's algorithm by them doing it and also just 00:49:14.45\00:49:18.15 liking and leaving comments under our videos also you now 00:49:18.19\00:49:24.06 helps us get more reach as well. So those are just a few things 00:49:24.09\00:49:27.16 that they can do. 00:49:27.20\00:49:28.53 I'm going to throw this one to Brad. Also, Brad let our 00:49:28.56\00:49:31.63 audience know what are some of the real tangible ways even 00:49:31.67\00:49:34.24 financially that they could help Little Light Studios expand in 00:49:34.27\00:49:37.94 their effectiveness as well as their evangelistic efforts 00:49:37.97\00:49:41.34 effectively Go to the website and donate because we really 00:49:41.38\00:49:43.75 need your funds, we need your help to do this because it needs 00:49:43.78\00:49:47.52 manpower. You can be a part of that process because we are 00:49:47.55\00:49:51.65 working towards the good that's found in the Bible and not 00:49:51.69\00:49:54.92 against it. That's right. And some of the things, I mean, you 00:49:54.96\00:49:58.03 guys I know you use computers, cameras. I know that equipment 00:49:58.06\00:50:01.56 changes so quickly now a days, what are some of the needs that 00:50:01.60\00:50:03.87 you might have A lot of the computers we have in the office 00:50:03.90\00:50:07.80 well until recently have been over 10 years old and you know 00:50:07.84\00:50:12.71 we've held out as long as we can but now it's to the point where 00:50:12.74\00:50:15.68 technology has progressed and it slows down your work. And so 00:50:15.71\00:50:20.02 we're in the process of needing to upgrade some of that. It's 00:50:20.05\00:50:23.18 probably costing us in the vicinity of 20 to 40 thousand 00:50:23.22\00:50:29.82 dollars. Technology is just not cheap and one of our dreams of 00:50:29.86\00:50:35.33 course is to make production faster. One of the ways we can 00:50:35.36\00:50:38.20 do that is with an LED wall. And those are not inexpensive items 00:50:38.23\00:50:44.44 even small ones. I think I was sent a quote the other day just 00:50:44.47\00:50:48.34 at 16 x 9 LED wall was somewhere in the vicinity of $300,000. 00:50:48.38\00:50:52.11 We'd like to have one bigger than that. We'd like to have 00:50:52.15\00:50:54.68 more than one.
