Welcome to 3ABN Today. 00:01:15.00\00:01:17.44 My name is John Dinzey and it is a blessing 00:01:17.84\00:01:19.74 for me to be with you and it's a blessing for me to be 00:01:19.94\00:01:21.81 with my wife Idalia as well 00:01:22.01\00:01:23.58 as we present a program to you that we are praying 00:01:23.78\00:01:28.32 will be inspiring 00:01:28.52\00:01:30.25 and will encourage you to do more for Jesus. 00:01:30.45\00:01:32.72 That's right. Many times we wonder: 00:01:33.12\00:01:35.12 "What can I possibly do for Jesus? 00:01:35.32\00:01:37.93 You know, I find myself limited because of my ailments 00:01:38.13\00:01:41.76 or simply I'm sick and I cannot leave my home. " 00:01:41.96\00:01:46.13 But there are ways in the new century... 00:01:46.33\00:01:49.10 this century... that we can join together 00:01:49.30\00:01:52.07 not only in prayer but also different opportunities 00:01:52.27\00:01:55.84 that present themselves. So please, don't let this 00:01:56.04\00:01:58.55 opportunity pass you by. 00:01:58.75\00:02:00.32 Be part of this inspiring ministry 00:02:00.52\00:02:03.15 and you will reap the blessings, you know, the rewards 00:02:03.35\00:02:07.26 in heaven for sure. Amen! 00:02:07.46\00:02:09.12 Well we have a special guest, 00:02:09.32\00:02:11.03 and he is the director of GLOW tracts. 00:02:11.23\00:02:14.76 I'm sure you've heard about it, and if you haven't 00:02:14.96\00:02:16.43 get ready for a blessing. 00:02:16.63\00:02:18.67 We have here Nelson Ernst. Welcome back! 00:02:18.87\00:02:21.57 Hey, thank you... it's a blessing to be here. 00:02:21.77\00:02:23.47 Thank you. Thank you for coming 00:02:24.24\00:02:25.57 and we know you have some won- derful things to share with us. 00:02:25.61\00:02:28.64 And we know you'll be blessed so we encourage you to pay 00:02:28.84\00:02:32.88 close attention. We're going to hear some new ideas 00:02:33.08\00:02:37.39 that GLOW is working with and also some stories. 00:02:37.59\00:02:41.32 I like stories, so I'm hoping to hear some that I can 00:02:41.52\00:02:44.56 share with others. Sure. Amen; amen. 00:02:44.76\00:02:46.80 Well, before we continue 00:02:47.20\00:02:48.86 we are going to the Lord in prayer, and we want to 00:02:49.06\00:02:51.43 invite you to join us in prayer. 00:02:51.63\00:02:53.40 You know 3ABN is a ministry of prayer 00:02:53.60\00:02:55.97 and we want to remind you that there is a 3ABN prayer ministry 00:02:56.17\00:03:00.71 and you can be one of our prayer partners. 00:03:00.91\00:03:03.14 And you can be part of the many that are praying 00:03:03.35\00:03:07.88 for the prayer requests that we mention during the day 00:03:08.08\00:03:10.69 or we put on the screen. And we know many of you pray 00:03:10.89\00:03:14.29 without even joining the prayer partner team. 00:03:14.49\00:03:17.59 But we encourage you to join the prayer partner team 00:03:17.79\00:03:19.53 so that you can receive prayer requests every week. 00:03:19.73\00:03:22.43 And we thank you so much for praying. God is doing 00:03:22.63\00:03:25.20 great and wonderful things. But now let us go to the Lord 00:03:25.40\00:03:28.30 in prayer. Our loving heavenly Father, 00:03:28.50\00:03:31.61 we want to thank you for Your great mercy. Thank you, Lord. 00:03:31.81\00:03:35.48 For Your kindness to us, Lord. 00:03:35.68\00:03:37.01 And we ask that You will be with us during this program. 00:03:37.05\00:03:40.65 We pray that You will bless Bro. Nelson 00:03:41.05\00:03:42.98 with Your Holy Spirit and guide him in what to share. 00:03:43.18\00:03:45.92 We thank you, Lord, for all those that are joining us 00:03:46.32\00:03:48.32 wherever they may be. 00:03:48.52\00:03:49.86 We thank you that there is hope in Jesus 00:03:50.16\00:03:52.69 and we praise Your name for the ministry of GLOW 00:03:52.89\00:03:57.33 that are sharing the gospel practically all over the world. 00:03:57.73\00:04:01.24 And we pray, Lord, for a blessing upon everyone 00:04:01.74\00:04:04.31 that is watching and listening. 00:04:04.47\00:04:05.94 We ask You, Lord, to consider the prayer requests 00:04:06.34\00:04:08.88 that have come in to 3ABN during this day. 00:04:09.08\00:04:11.61 There are many needs all around the world. 00:04:11.81\00:04:13.58 But You are the Almighty God and no need is too great 00:04:13.98\00:04:17.95 and no need is too small. 00:04:18.15\00:04:20.49 So we pray that You will do that which You know is best 00:04:20.69\00:04:23.63 for each one of your children. Amen. 00:04:23.83\00:04:25.96 We ask You for these things in the holy and blessed name 00:04:26.16\00:04:28.83 of Jesus. Amen... Amen. 00:04:29.03\00:04:32.03 Well, we go now to Matthew chapter 24 and verse 14 00:04:32.43\00:04:36.94 and I'm asking my wife Idalia to read that for us. 00:04:37.34\00:04:39.84 Yes. It is a text that we all know 00:04:40.04\00:04:42.84 and many many have memorized it. 00:04:43.04\00:04:45.75 But we would like to read it straight from Scripture. 00:04:45.95\00:04:48.55 Matthew 24 verse 14. And it says: 00:04:48.75\00:04:52.55 "And this gospel of the kingdom 00:04:52.75\00:04:54.69 shall be preached in all the world 00:04:54.89\00:04:57.29 for a witness unto all nations 00:04:57.49\00:04:59.79 and then shall the end come. " 00:05:00.00\00:05:02.73 Amen and amen. 00:05:02.93\00:05:04.27 What is that end that it's referring to, Dinzey? 00:05:04.37\00:05:07.24 Oh, man! This is the end of the suffering 00:05:07.64\00:05:11.31 let's say... the end of suffering in this world. 00:05:11.51\00:05:14.41 And we are just praising the Lord that 00:05:14.61\00:05:17.51 GLOW identifies with this Scripture. 00:05:17.71\00:05:21.02 Tell us what thoughts come into your mind 00:05:21.22\00:05:22.92 as we read today Matthew 24:14. 00:05:23.12\00:05:25.75 Absolutely. It's a powerful verse. 00:05:26.25\00:05:28.32 You know, when I think about Matthew 24:14 00:05:28.52\00:05:30.66 and the gospel going out to all the world 00:05:30.86\00:05:32.36 I also think of another depiction of that 00:05:32.56\00:05:35.26 in Revelation chapter 18 00:05:35.46\00:05:36.93 where you have a symbolic picture of an angel 00:05:37.13\00:05:40.70 coming down with great power and he's illuminating the world 00:05:40.90\00:05:44.54 with his glory. And there you see basically a picture of 00:05:44.74\00:05:48.48 the gospel going out to the world 00:05:48.68\00:05:50.35 and it's represented as a mes- sage that's a message of light. 00:05:50.55\00:05:54.65 And we know from Scripture that light is a symbol 00:05:55.15\00:05:57.69 of God's character. So before the end comes 00:05:57.89\00:06:00.82 everybody in the world is going to hear this message 00:06:01.02\00:06:02.76 of God and His real character. Because I mean 00:06:02.96\00:06:06.39 that's really what it's all about, isn't it? Amen! 00:06:06.59\00:06:07.93 Is a battle over whether we see God's character 00:06:08.06\00:06:10.23 in the right light or if we have a misunderstanding of it. 00:06:10.43\00:06:12.63 Um-hmm. Thank you so much. 00:06:12.83\00:06:14.90 We could talk all-day about Matthew 24:14 00:06:15.10\00:06:18.01 and what it means to each and every one of us. 00:06:18.21\00:06:20.08 It's good news because the Bible says 00:06:20.28\00:06:22.98 that this will go to every nation in the world. Amen! 00:06:23.18\00:06:27.12 And you know God loves the whole world. 00:06:27.32\00:06:28.68 And that's the reason He gave His only begotten Son 00:06:28.88\00:06:31.29 that whoever believes in Him WILL NOT perish 00:06:31.49\00:06:34.86 but have everlasting life. Um-hmm. And I praise the Lord 00:06:35.06\00:06:37.89 that today those of you listening 00:06:38.09\00:06:40.86 can have the opportunity to be a member of God's family 00:06:41.06\00:06:44.83 and be a recipient of eternal life through Jesus Christ. 00:06:45.03\00:06:49.20 That's right, and God's Word is a lamp unto our feet. 00:06:49.70\00:06:52.87 Amen. And a light unto our path. 00:06:53.07\00:06:54.74 Well we have some music that we want to share with you 00:06:54.94\00:06:57.51 to get your mind ready for the good news you're about to hear. 00:06:57.71\00:07:00.92 What do we have today, honey? 00:07:01.12\00:07:02.45 Oh, we have Kendol Bacchus, and he is a pianist. 00:07:02.65\00:07:06.29 And he has been blessed with his gift in the passion of sharing 00:07:06.49\00:07:11.16 Christ's love through his music ministry. 00:07:11.59\00:07:14.40 This interpretation is entitled 00:07:14.60\00:07:17.07 Far and Near the Fields are Teeming. 00:07:17.27\00:07:20.50 Amen! Thank you, Kendol Bacchus. 00:11:58.81\00:12:00.75 He came to record that for us. A beautiful, beautiful hymn. 00:12:00.95\00:12:03.79 Actually, you know when you hear an instrumental 00:12:03.99\00:12:06.79 I'm trying to remember the words. 00:12:06.99\00:12:08.42 And I looked up the words here and I'm going to just read the 00:12:08.62\00:12:11.13 first stanza in the hymn book 00:12:11.33\00:12:12.83 because some of you may have been doing the same as me: 00:12:13.03\00:12:15.96 trying to remember the words. Um-hmm. 00:12:16.16\00:12:18.03 And it says: Far and near the fields are teeming 00:12:18.23\00:12:21.50 with the sheaves of ripened grain. 00:12:21.70\00:12:23.97 Far and near their gold is gleaming 00:12:24.17\00:12:26.68 o'er the sunny slope and plain. 00:12:26.88\00:12:29.38 Lord of harvest, send forth reapers! 00:12:29.78\00:12:32.58 Hear us, Lord, to Thee we cry: 00:12:32.78\00:12:35.35 send them now the sheaves to gather, 00:12:35.55\00:12:38.19 ere the harvest time pass by. 00:12:38.39\00:12:41.29 Beautiful beautiful chorus. 00:12:41.49\00:12:43.36 And I think I'll just read verse two as well. It says: 00:12:43.56\00:12:45.86 Send them forth with morn's first beaming, 00:12:46.26\00:12:48.93 send them in the noontide's glare. 00:12:49.13\00:12:51.80 When the sun's last rays are streaming 00:12:52.00\00:12:54.54 bid them gather everywhere. 00:12:54.74\00:12:57.11 Praise the Lord! Beautiful hymn; beautiful hymn. 00:12:57.31\00:12:59.81 I love that hymn! Well Kendol Bacchus: we thank you. 00:13:00.01\00:13:01.54 Yes... yes. If you would like to invite him 00:13:01.74\00:13:05.61 to your community, to your church, 00:13:05.81\00:13:07.42 please contact us here at 3ABN 00:13:07.62\00:13:10.09 and we'd be happy to share his contact information. 00:13:10.29\00:13:13.29 He is also available through social media. 00:13:13.49\00:13:16.39 Kendol Bacchus... Kendol Bacchus. Um-hmm. 00:13:16.59\00:13:20.66 Well, we are here with Nelson Ernst 00:13:20.86\00:13:23.73 if you just tuned in, and he is the director of GLOW. 00:13:23.93\00:13:28.44 Now what is GLOW and why is the name GLOW? 00:13:28.64\00:13:31.97 That's a good question! 00:13:33.04\00:13:34.38 Well basically GLOW is just a simple idea. 00:13:35.11\00:13:38.35 We're with this ministry encouraging church members 00:13:38.55\00:13:41.32 to carry gospel literature with them wherever they go - 00:13:41.52\00:13:44.22 um-hmm - because we believe from reading the Bible 00:13:44.42\00:13:48.16 that the harvest is ripe. 00:13:48.36\00:13:50.66 And every day as we're going about our activities 00:13:50.86\00:13:53.60 there are golden opportunities to reach out to people. 00:13:53.80\00:13:56.60 And a lot of us might have a hard time 00:13:57.00\00:13:59.67 feeling comfortable witnessing. 00:13:59.87\00:14:02.10 We might not know the right words to say to somebody 00:14:02.30\00:14:04.17 if we feel impressed to witness to them. 00:14:04.44\00:14:08.24 But if we're carrying literature with us 00:14:08.44\00:14:09.98 the literature can do the witnessing for us. 00:14:10.18\00:14:12.31 It's great. Amen! So that's kind of the basic concept. 00:14:12.51\00:14:15.15 We're just encouraging people to carry literature with them 00:14:15.35\00:14:16.82 wherever they go, and we're developing 00:14:17.02\00:14:20.22 and adding on to that basic idea. 00:14:20.42\00:14:22.02 Praise the Lord... Amen! 00:14:22.22\00:14:23.86 So it began when? And how many GLOW tracts 00:14:24.79\00:14:29.73 have circulated the world? Yeah! 00:14:29.93\00:14:31.27 Um... so we started the ministry back in 2007 00:14:31.47\00:14:35.37 and really it just kind of sprang out of reading a book 00:14:36.44\00:14:41.04 by Ellen White called Publishing Ministry. Um-hmm. 00:14:41.24\00:14:43.35 And God also brought some other circumstances together 00:14:43.75\00:14:46.08 so that we had some incredible miracles happen 00:14:46.28\00:14:48.25 and we had some funding to get it going. 00:14:48.45\00:14:50.09 That's a whole story in itself. Yes! 00:14:50.29\00:14:51.75 But, yeah, so since then - 2007- 00:14:51.95\00:14:56.42 there have been church members that have been passing out 00:14:56.62\00:14:58.06 the literature literally in a lot of different countries. 00:14:58.26\00:15:00.93 And we've printed a little over 130 million tracts. 00:15:01.13\00:15:05.07 Amen! Yeah, which sounds incredible 00:15:05.27\00:15:07.64 but I mean there's so much more to do. 00:15:07.84\00:15:10.11 That's right. I mean, it's really a drop in the bucket 00:15:10.31\00:15:11.74 compared to the amount of people that we need to reach. 00:15:11.94\00:15:13.58 But, yeah... so that's kind of where we're at. 00:15:14.08\00:15:17.55 I'm going to say those are only the tracts that we know about 00:15:18.05\00:15:21.62 because there are countries that are sometimes taking our tracts 00:15:21.82\00:15:25.25 and printing them but they just don't tell us about it. 00:15:25.45\00:15:27.62 Right. So... yes. Well, I can tell you 00:15:27.82\00:15:31.13 I know of a place. Oh really? OK. 00:15:31.33\00:15:34.50 I know of a place where I've seen them. OK. 00:15:34.70\00:15:36.77 And I said: "Well look at that! 00:15:36.97\00:15:39.17 I didn't know GLOW was here. " Yes. 00:15:39.37\00:15:41.04 I know of a place. Yeah, well you need to report that 00:15:41.24\00:15:43.54 country to us... we'll contact them and get the numbers. 00:15:43.74\00:15:46.04 Getting the count. Well, every ministry has their goals 00:15:47.31\00:15:51.31 and their desires and their dream. What is 00:15:51.51\00:15:54.05 your motto and what is it that you want to accomplish 00:15:54.25\00:15:57.19 as a ministry? We have mentioned tracts and all 00:15:57.39\00:16:00.96 and people may be like: "Oh, another tract? " 00:16:01.12\00:16:03.63 Well, this is NOT another tract. Please... Sure... sure. 00:16:03.83\00:16:07.63 Well, that's a good point. You know, there's a lot of 00:16:07.83\00:16:10.37 materials that are available for us 00:16:10.57\00:16:12.40 especially in the Adventist church for witnessing. Yes. 00:16:12.60\00:16:15.60 And I like to say that 00:16:15.80\00:16:18.07 GLOW is not so much about the kind of literature that you use 00:16:18.27\00:16:22.31 or that we provide as much as it is the concept. 00:16:22.51\00:16:25.21 Again, our primary emphasis is just encouraging church 00:16:25.41\00:16:29.08 members to get active with passing out literature. 00:16:29.28\00:16:31.89 And what is it that encourages them? 00:16:32.69\00:16:34.86 It's sharing stories. So when we hear people who 00:16:35.06\00:16:37.79 have had a divine appointment sharing literature - yes - 00:16:37.99\00:16:40.06 we do whatever we can to disseminate those stories 00:16:40.26\00:16:42.20 because that encourages church members to do more. 00:16:42.40\00:16:44.23 Now in terms of the tracts themselves 00:16:44.43\00:16:46.23 we still want to try and - you know - as a ministry create 00:16:46.43\00:16:49.47 the highest quality possible literature at the cheapest price 00:16:49.67\00:16:53.81 so that church members can give it out 00:16:54.01\00:16:56.61 and have something that looks modern - right - and attractive. 00:16:56.81\00:16:59.38 Is going to represent the Bible in a truthful manner 00:16:59.58\00:17:03.32 and also have a strong appeal at the end 00:17:03.52\00:17:06.32 so that people can take one step forward 00:17:06.52\00:17:08.56 in making their decision for Christ. Um-hmm. 00:17:08.76\00:17:11.83 So we do strive to do that. 00:17:12.03\00:17:14.03 When we make our tracts we even have a process where 00:17:14.23\00:17:16.83 we vet it through principles of Spirit of Prophecy 00:17:17.03\00:17:20.77 that we've gleaned from a book called 00:17:20.97\00:17:23.34 Counsels to Writers and Editors. Yes. 00:17:23.54\00:17:25.24 So there's a lot of good information 00:17:25.77\00:17:28.54 in Ellen White's writings that have really been blessings 00:17:28.74\00:17:30.18 to our ministry. Praise the Lord! 00:17:30.38\00:17:31.71 I know that... Oh, go ahead. Well I know that 00:17:31.75\00:17:34.68 you have a lot of GLOW tracts available. 00:17:34.88\00:17:37.39 But what are the topics? For example, 00:17:39.25\00:17:43.39 I know you couldn't cover it all in one minute here - sure - 00:17:43.59\00:17:46.90 but give us an idea. I mean, what does it... 00:17:47.10\00:17:49.86 what do you share in it? Is it church doctrines 00:17:50.07\00:17:52.07 or what kind of lifestyle? And stuff like that. Sure. 00:17:52.27\00:17:54.97 So just to answer that quickly: 00:17:55.47\00:17:57.41 we have basically three different categories of tracts. 00:17:57.61\00:17:59.77 OK. About 20% of our tracts 00:17:59.97\00:18:01.94 are devoted to topics that are health-related. Good! 00:18:02.14\00:18:04.85 Another 20% are devoted to topics which are more just 00:18:05.05\00:18:08.28 generic Christian topics like prayer and salvation. 00:18:08.48\00:18:12.25 And then the remaining 60% 00:18:12.45\00:18:14.89 are devoted toward topics that are - how can I say it? 00:18:15.09\00:18:19.66 maybe more doctrinal. Ones that would give people 00:18:19.96\00:18:22.20 a tidbit of truth that they might not have ever heard 00:18:22.40\00:18:26.00 before like the Sabbath or what happens after you die 00:18:26.20\00:18:29.27 or Bible prophecy. We really want to have that 00:18:29.47\00:18:31.91 be the primary emphasis of what we do. 00:18:32.11\00:18:34.28 We have also children's tracts: tracts for kids to give to kids 00:18:34.48\00:18:37.65 so they can understand it. Oh, that's wonderful! 00:18:37.85\00:18:39.28 And we have tracts that are waterproof. 00:18:39.48\00:18:41.72 I didn't know that! Yeah... yeah. 00:18:42.12\00:18:44.02 On vacation! We can share it on cruises! Exactly. 00:18:44.22\00:18:47.19 I'm actually waiting for the day when somebody will call in 00:18:47.39\00:18:50.93 and tell me a testimony about how they were snorkeling 00:18:51.09\00:18:53.60 or scuba diving and some person gave them a tract 00:18:53.80\00:18:56.03 underwater. That's what I'm waiting for. 00:18:56.23\00:18:58.30 That is amazing! That will be the ultimate story. 00:18:58.50\00:19:00.24 Awesome! I know from having seen them 00:19:01.17\00:19:04.84 that you have them in Spanish. Right. 00:19:05.04\00:19:06.68 Are there any other languages? 00:19:06.88\00:19:08.21 Yeah, we have them in about 75, 78 different languages. 00:19:08.61\00:19:13.55 Wow! We have about 50 different titles. 00:19:13.75\00:19:16.95 I mean, obviously, not every title is translated 00:19:17.15\00:19:19.62 into every language but yeah, so we have a lot of different 00:19:19.82\00:19:24.33 translations. Excellent! Well I understand there's a new 00:19:24.53\00:19:27.90 emphasis now for GLOW? Yes. 00:19:28.10\00:19:29.96 Tell us about that. Yes. 00:19:30.17\00:19:31.53 So building on the foundation 00:19:31.93\00:19:34.37 of encouraging everybody to just carry literature with them 00:19:34.57\00:19:37.21 wherever they go in their daily life 00:19:37.41\00:19:39.01 to make their everyday life a mission trip 00:19:39.21\00:19:42.34 we are now beginning to organize international 00:19:43.21\00:19:46.31 mission trips. And I'm really excited about this. 00:19:46.51\00:19:50.32 These aren't just any mission trips. 00:19:50.72\00:19:52.12 These are mission trips... I kind of like to call them 00:19:52.32\00:19:54.46 superlative mission trips... 00:19:54.66\00:19:55.99 So whenever we have a mission trip we're going to do something 00:19:56.06\00:19:59.63 that is superlative... or it's going to be extreme maybe. 00:19:59.83\00:20:04.40 For example: there might be a place in the world 00:20:05.03\00:20:07.44 where there's almost no church membership. 00:20:07.64\00:20:10.11 Oh yes! That's a place that we want to go with a mission trip. 00:20:10.31\00:20:12.41 OK. There might be a place which is extremely remote 00:20:12.61\00:20:15.04 like the southern or northern tip of the world 00:20:15.44\00:20:17.68 in terms of where inhabitants are. 00:20:17.88\00:20:20.05 That would be a superlative location to go to. 00:20:20.25\00:20:22.95 Or we'll have a mission trip where our emphasis is 00:20:23.85\00:20:27.66 trying to get out the most amount of literature 00:20:27.86\00:20:30.06 absolutely possible. And so we organize our mission trips 00:20:30.26\00:20:34.23 around these superlatives 00:20:34.43\00:20:35.76 because of several different reasons. But one reason 00:20:35.86\00:20:39.13 is because we want to have believers. 00:20:39.33\00:20:43.04 When they go on a mission trip 00:20:43.24\00:20:44.57 go and do something that they feel is just going to be 00:20:44.74\00:20:48.64 big. Something that is a story that 00:20:48.84\00:20:51.61 they're going to tell their grandchildren, you know, 00:20:51.81\00:20:53.15 years later. Amen! Amen! 00:20:53.35\00:20:56.25 Get that video you know and show us what you've been up to. 00:20:56.45\00:21:01.66 Right? Yeah... yeah. 00:21:01.86\00:21:04.13 Well I really think that getting out 00:21:04.53\00:21:07.56 and spreading the gospel through literature 00:21:07.76\00:21:09.90 in mission trips is very important for us to do. 00:21:10.10\00:21:13.70 Even with COVID - yes - God is opening up doors 00:21:14.67\00:21:17.17 and we're able to get literature out in places 00:21:17.37\00:21:20.74 which you know you have to bend over a little bit backwards 00:21:20.94\00:21:23.21 to make it work but God is still blessing 00:21:23.41\00:21:26.15 and we're moving forward with that. 00:21:26.35\00:21:27.88 So what mission trips are you currently planning? 00:21:28.08\00:21:31.99 What are the plans on that? 00:21:32.19\00:21:33.52 Yeah, we do have mission trips that we already have 00:21:33.66\00:21:36.29 on the schedule, and actually 00:21:36.49\00:21:39.29 probably the best way to answer that is 00:21:39.49\00:21:41.20 to say that people should if they want to learn about 00:21:41.40\00:21:43.53 these mission trips go visit our website: GlowMissionTrips.org 00:21:43.73\00:21:46.23 And when they go there they can just keep up to date 00:21:46.63\00:21:49.10 on the different mission trips that we're going to be having. 00:21:49.30\00:21:50.91 Learn the information; even register online. 00:21:51.11\00:21:53.24 Just to get a brief answer 00:21:53.44\00:21:54.98 the one that we have coming up that's the closest 00:21:55.38\00:21:57.98 is in Argentina. We're going to go there 00:21:58.18\00:22:00.25 and pass out one mission GLOW tracts in Spanish. 00:22:00.45\00:22:02.65 One million? Yeah! 00:22:02.85\00:22:04.45 Praise the Lord! Yeah. So not only are these tracts 00:22:04.65\00:22:06.76 going to be teaching people about the Bible 00:22:06.96\00:22:08.29 but they're also going to be inviting people to twenty-eight 00:22:08.49\00:22:10.79 simultaneous evangelistic meetings 00:22:10.99\00:22:12.63 because we're doing this in conjunction with the Southern 00:22:12.83\00:22:15.13 Argentinian Conference. 00:22:15.33\00:22:16.67 And... yeah... it's just going to be exciting. 00:22:16.77\00:22:18.67 That is exciting. Is there an age limit 00:22:18.87\00:22:21.37 as to who can participate in these mission trips? 00:22:21.57\00:22:25.47 Yes and no. We prefer to have people who 00:22:25.67\00:22:28.21 are 18 or above. It just makes it a little bit easier 00:22:28.41\00:22:31.55 unless they are able to come with their parent. Yes. 00:22:31.75\00:22:33.38 You know, in case there's an emergency or something. 00:22:33.58\00:22:35.05 We understand. Yes, yes. 00:22:35.25\00:22:36.85 And then on the other side they just need to be fit enough 00:22:37.05\00:22:40.52 to walk for 6 or so hours per day giving out literature. 00:22:40.72\00:22:45.26 So... you know. 00:22:45.46\00:22:47.06 Amen. So we have Argentina. Are there other places 00:22:47.26\00:22:50.27 that are... In the works? In the works. 00:22:50.47\00:22:53.37 Absolutely. Yeah, so there's that one and then in 2023 00:22:53.57\00:22:58.01 we're going to have another mission trip to Bolivia. 00:22:58.21\00:23:00.94 And Bolivia's going to be really exciting because 00:23:01.14\00:23:03.61 we're going to go with a group of people and we're going to 00:23:03.81\00:23:06.28 visit a bunch of unreached villages 00:23:06.48\00:23:09.15 that have no believers living in them. 00:23:09.35\00:23:11.62 And then on the very last day of that mission trip 00:23:11.82\00:23:14.09 we're going to get all the church members in the Bolivian 00:23:14.29\00:23:16.19 Union to distribute literature and we're going to attempt 00:23:16.39\00:23:18.53 to pass out 3 million tracts in one day. 00:23:18.73\00:23:20.53 In one day? In one day. Praise the Lord! 00:23:20.73\00:23:22.96 So we're crunching the numbers with the union down there 00:23:23.16\00:23:24.70 right now and we think we can pull it off. 00:23:24.90\00:23:26.23 Praise the Lord! Excellent! 00:23:26.43\00:23:28.14 I like those ambitious plans to get the gospel out. 00:23:28.34\00:23:31.94 Actually, that's not even the most ambitious one. 00:23:32.14\00:23:34.11 So I'll tell you about the last one. 00:23:34.31\00:23:36.21 So when I get home tomorrow actually, I have a call with... 00:23:36.41\00:23:40.22 with some church leaders in the Philippines. 00:23:41.68\00:23:44.72 And in probably 2024 or 2025 00:23:44.92\00:23:48.22 we're going to do a mission trip where we're going to go 00:23:48.42\00:23:50.73 to the Philippines and we're going to attempt to pass out 00:23:50.93\00:23:53.23 between 10 to 20 million tracts throughout the Philippines. 00:23:53.43\00:23:56.83 And we're hoping to make that the biggest literature outreach 00:23:57.03\00:24:00.90 that has been done - Amen! maybe even in the church. 00:24:01.10\00:24:04.57 Ten million! This is really exciting to get the locals 00:24:04.77\00:24:07.71 you know active, and as a family, you can go. 00:24:07.91\00:24:12.01 As clubs... the church. 00:24:12.21\00:24:14.65 Because the SDA church has Pathfinders Club, 00:24:14.85\00:24:17.45 Medical Cadets, and all. And they can all go 00:24:17.65\00:24:19.89 and it's exciting as you join in. 00:24:20.09\00:24:22.32 And I'm sure the youth from one church will say: 00:24:22.52\00:24:25.53 "We're going to outdo the other! " 00:24:25.73\00:24:27.66 You know, there's some excitement. You have to 00:24:27.86\00:24:30.97 remember that the young people, we thrive on that. Yeah. 00:24:31.43\00:24:35.70 We like to work together. Yeah. 00:24:35.90\00:24:37.24 I'll also add on to that: everybody who comes on these 00:24:37.41\00:24:40.64 mission trips... we're going to take the missionaries that come 00:24:40.84\00:24:43.04 with us and we're going to teach them how they can 00:24:43.24\00:24:45.71 create their own mini-mission trips when they come back home. 00:24:45.91\00:24:48.55 Excellent. So for example: if somebody today listening 00:24:48.75\00:24:50.85 to this wants to do their own literature mission trip 00:24:51.05\00:24:54.16 they can go to our website GlowMissionTrips.org 00:24:54.36\00:24:57.03 and they can click on the menu item that says Trip 00:24:57.23\00:24:59.59 and then the sub menu says Create your own 00:24:59.79\00:25:01.93 and we have an entire article there that explains 00:25:02.13\00:25:04.23 step by step how to plan and execute 00:25:04.43\00:25:07.10 your own GLOW mission trip 00:25:07.30\00:25:09.97 in your own context in your community. 00:25:10.17\00:25:11.87 That's wonderful! This is wonderful. 00:25:12.07\00:25:13.94 Wow! Hey, I'm encouraging everybody that's listening 00:25:14.14\00:25:16.88 go to the website. First pray... first pray 00:25:17.08\00:25:21.18 and say: "Lord, what do You want us to do? " 00:25:21.38\00:25:23.02 But you have a wonderful oppor- tunity to get the gospel out 00:25:23.22\00:25:26.65 in your community. Plan one! 00:25:26.86\00:25:28.89 Get people involved... get people moving. 00:25:29.09\00:25:30.89 You know, I think some people 00:25:31.09\00:25:32.43 in church is just waiting for somebody 00:25:32.46\00:25:34.10 to say: "Hey, let's do some- thing that we have never done 00:25:34.30\00:25:37.17 before and get these things done. " 00:25:37.37\00:25:39.13 We have seen... we have been involved in 00:25:39.33\00:25:42.04 projects and we notice that the members seem to 00:25:42.24\00:25:44.84 come alive when something new is presented. 00:25:45.04\00:25:48.41 And people get excited and they come back 00:25:48.61\00:25:51.61 from those trips excited. 00:25:51.81\00:25:53.48 We're going to hear some of those stories in a moment 00:25:53.88\00:25:55.42 I'm sure, but Bro. Nelson, tell us... tell us about 00:25:55.62\00:26:00.06 the video we're about to see and where it is. 00:26:01.22\00:26:04.16 Where were you when you were doing this video? 00:26:04.36\00:26:05.89 Sure... yeah... absolutely. So the context for the video 00:26:06.09\00:26:08.86 is that this mission trip that we're doing really soon here 00:26:09.06\00:26:11.90 to Argentina is actually going to be at the very southern tip 00:26:12.10\00:26:14.80 of Argentina. In fact, it's the most southern city 00:26:15.00\00:26:17.27 in the world which is Ushuaia, Argentina. 00:26:17.47\00:26:19.61 Um-hmm. So I'm doing this video in Ushuaia. 00:26:19.81\00:26:22.88 And very windy down there by the way. 00:26:23.08\00:26:25.21 You'll hear some wind a little bit in the background 00:26:25.41\00:26:26.82 of the video, but basically 00:26:27.32\00:26:29.58 it's... As I mentioned, we're going to do 28 simultaneous 00:26:29.78\00:26:32.52 evangelistic meetings and we're going to be passing out 00:26:32.72\00:26:34.52 a million tracts. But we're going to take a smaller team 00:26:34.72\00:26:37.46 down to the very southern trip and we're going to try and get 00:26:37.66\00:26:40.33 literature into every hand in three small towns 00:26:40.53\00:26:43.26 at the very very very bottom of Argentina. 00:26:43.47\00:26:45.90 So it's going to be exciting. I mean, they have like glaciers 00:26:46.10\00:26:47.84 that are just a couple miles away from Argentina. 00:26:48.04\00:26:50.81 There's penguins that are down there. 00:26:51.01\00:26:52.47 Wow! It's pretty cool. Excellent! Excellent! 00:26:52.67\00:26:54.48 Well, let's take a look at this video 00:26:54.68\00:26:56.28 and pay close attention. 00:26:56.48\00:26:58.75 Hey everybody. This is Nelson Ernst from the GLOW Tract 00:27:03.02\00:27:05.09 Ministry. I'm down here today in Ushuaia, Argentina, 00:27:05.29\00:27:08.29 which is literally at the southern tip of the world. 00:27:08.49\00:27:10.93 I've been down here for the past few days 00:27:11.29\00:27:13.13 and been having a really good time checking out the territory 00:27:13.33\00:27:16.06 here. Now, why would I be doing that? 00:27:16.26\00:27:17.93 It's because we're going to be doing a mission trip here 00:27:18.33\00:27:20.54 in April of 2022. In Argentina we're going to pass out 00:27:20.74\00:27:24.94 one million GLOW tracts. 00:27:25.14\00:27:26.74 Now these tracts are not just going to teach people about 00:27:26.94\00:27:28.84 the Bible, but they're also going to invite people 00:27:29.04\00:27:31.21 to 25 simultaneous evangelistic meetings 00:27:31.41\00:27:34.02 that are going to be happening all throughout the country. 00:27:34.22\00:27:36.12 I'm going to take a special group in addition to that 00:27:36.62\00:27:39.02 down to the very southern tip right here to Ushuaia 00:27:39.22\00:27:42.19 and we're going to pass out literature, GLOW tracts 00:27:42.39\00:27:44.59 to every single house in Ushuaia 00:27:44.79\00:27:46.80 as well as two other very small towns here. 00:27:47.00\00:27:49.70 I went and met some of the church members today 00:27:50.10\00:27:52.03 while I was preaching in their churches 00:27:52.23\00:27:53.70 and they want to say something to you: 00:27:53.90\00:27:55.47 Friends, these church members down here are excited about 00:28:02.61\00:28:06.18 what's going to happen. We need missionaries to come down 00:28:06.38\00:28:09.12 and pass out this literature. We need more hands! 00:28:09.32\00:28:11.92 So if you're interested in learning more about this 00:28:12.32\00:28:14.09 mission trip and if you want to maybe come with us, go to: 00:28:14.29\00:28:17.09 That website has all the information 00:28:18.96\00:28:20.80 as well as a place for you to register. 00:28:21.00\00:28:23.06 We'll see you at the southern tip of the world. 00:28:23.26\00:28:25.13 Excellent! Praise the Lord! 00:28:29.70\00:28:31.17 Wow! The very southern tip of the world! 00:28:31.37\00:28:33.91 Yeah, yeah... it took about 24 hours to get down there 00:28:34.11\00:28:37.45 from California... 18 hrs. of time in the air. 00:28:37.65\00:28:39.95 Tremendous, tremendous! 00:28:40.15\00:28:41.48 You know, you're talking about the mission trips. 00:28:41.52\00:28:43.05 I know the answer will be varied: 00:28:43.72\00:28:46.19 how long is one of these mission trips? 00:28:46.39\00:28:48.79 Sure. Well when we do a mission trip that is international 00:28:48.99\00:28:53.43 you know we try to make it long enough that it's worthwhile 00:28:53.63\00:28:56.00 for missionaries to come out to it. 00:28:56.20\00:28:58.13 So typically they range anywhere from 7 to 10 days. 00:28:58.33\00:29:02.07 Standard is about a ten-day mission trip. 00:29:02.27\00:29:04.77 Excellent... very good. What language do they speak 00:29:04.97\00:29:06.31 over there in Ushuaia, Argentina? Spanish. 00:29:06.47\00:29:09.01 OK... Spanish because I heard their English 00:29:09.41\00:29:12.28 and it was good. You taught them English? 00:29:12.48\00:29:14.65 I actually told them 'cause I was preaching in both of those 00:29:14.85\00:29:17.95 churches that were on the video clip there, and I told them 00:29:18.15\00:29:20.72 "Hey, I need you guys to help me make a recruiting video 00:29:20.92\00:29:23.93 and say WELCOME TO USHUAIA. " 00:29:24.13\00:29:27.26 Excellent! OK... very good. I heard them also say 00:29:27.46\00:29:29.96 Bienvenido so they said both. Right. 00:29:30.17\00:29:32.10 Good... very good. 00:29:32.30\00:29:33.64 Well, tell us more about what your needs are 00:29:34.00\00:29:37.87 in putting together these types of mission trips 00:29:38.07\00:29:41.91 because it sounds great and all but there is a lot 00:29:42.11\00:29:46.08 of behind-the-scenes planning and a lot of needs that 00:29:46.28\00:29:50.19 we are not aware of... so please share with us. 00:29:50.39\00:29:53.46 Yeah, you can say that again. 00:29:53.66\00:29:54.99 It's a logistical... 00:29:55.02\00:29:56.42 yeah, there's a lot of logistics to them. 00:29:56.62\00:29:58.66 Basically... The main thing that everybody can help us with 00:29:59.69\00:30:04.23 when it comes to mission trips is just prayer. 00:30:04.43\00:30:05.80 You know, Satan really likes to attack plans - oh, yeah - 00:30:06.00\00:30:09.77 when we're going out and invading his kingdom so to speak 00:30:09.97\00:30:12.61 and passing out millions of pieces of literature 00:30:12.81\00:30:14.41 he's not happy about that. That's right. 00:30:14.61\00:30:16.24 So just prayers that God will protect us - 00:30:16.44\00:30:17.91 the missionaries - and that there won't be issues 00:30:18.11\00:30:21.25 with restrictions with COVID in a country or something 00:30:21.45\00:30:23.99 like that. Aside from that 00:30:24.19\00:30:26.92 obviously we always are interested in people coming 00:30:27.12\00:30:30.53 as missionaries. So when I think about putting together 00:30:30.73\00:30:34.86 a mission trip, the two major hurdles that we have to overcome 00:30:35.06\00:30:38.13 are recruiting people and raising donations. 00:30:38.33\00:30:41.74 Because when we go on a mission trip and we pass out a million 00:30:41.94\00:30:45.47 or 3 million or 10 million tracts 00:30:45.67\00:30:47.64 we're not asking the missionaries who come 00:30:47.84\00:30:49.81 to pay for the tracts. 00:30:50.01\00:30:51.35 So we do what we can to raise the funds to get all that 00:30:51.38\00:30:54.02 covered and out of the way and so different people 00:30:54.22\00:30:57.32 can donate towards that. 00:30:57.52\00:30:59.02 But we also just need manpower 00:30:59.22\00:31:01.82 so we need people to come with us. 00:31:02.02\00:31:03.53 And there are still open... opportunities for even the one 00:31:03.73\00:31:07.40 that's coming up here in Ushuaia 00:31:07.60\00:31:09.13 and definitely for the ones that are further out 00:31:09.33\00:31:11.87 like Bolivia and the Philippines. 00:31:12.07\00:31:13.87 Excellent! Well this is a wonderful 00:31:14.07\00:31:18.24 ambitious under- taking and we praise the Lord 00:31:18.44\00:31:20.81 for what GLOW is doing. Um-hmm. 00:31:21.01\00:31:22.81 And you mentioned prayer. That's definitely a need... 00:31:23.01\00:31:27.58 a constant and continued need. Right. 00:31:27.78\00:31:30.82 What else? There are people that are not able to go. Yes. 00:31:31.02\00:31:34.96 Perhaps you mentioned donations? 00:31:35.16\00:31:37.49 We're going to share in a moment contact information 00:31:37.69\00:31:40.60 for GLOW so please get yourself ready 00:31:40.80\00:31:42.86 to write it down. And like I said in some other programs 00:31:43.26\00:31:46.60 sometimes I don't have anything to write. Nowadays you can 00:31:46.80\00:31:49.50 take a picture of the screen. That's right. 00:31:49.70\00:31:51.67 If you're listening on radio you WILL have to listen carefully 00:31:51.87\00:31:55.54 and write it down. And if you don't get it all, 00:31:55.74\00:31:58.08 of course, you can contact us and we will be glad to share 00:31:58.28\00:32:01.42 the information with you. 00:32:01.62\00:32:02.95 But besides the people that are not able to probably go 00:32:03.05\00:32:05.95 do you need people to like organize the groups 00:32:06.15\00:32:09.66 and get them ready to go? 00:32:09.86\00:32:11.49 Do you have that need as well? 00:32:11.69\00:32:13.33 Yeah... Well... so again, our biggest needs 00:32:14.00\00:32:17.90 are manpower and also just the funding 00:32:18.10\00:32:24.04 so we can cover for the donations. 00:32:24.24\00:32:25.57 So we've done actually quite a few of these mission trips 00:32:25.64\00:32:28.41 already - um-hmm - so we have a lot of the things down 00:32:28.61\00:32:33.82 with regards to putting together the transportation 00:32:34.02\00:32:37.25 and doing a lot of logistics for things on the ground 00:32:37.45\00:32:40.29 although it varies from country to country you know. 00:32:40.49\00:32:42.09 As you know it's - oh yes - it's hard getting around 00:32:42.66\00:32:44.43 in a different country you've never been to sometimes. 00:32:44.63\00:32:46.56 OK. Especially if you don't speak the language. 00:32:46.76\00:32:48.20 But yeah... again I think our biggest needs are always 00:32:48.40\00:32:52.90 donations and recruiting. 00:32:53.20\00:32:55.74 So for example, in Argentina 00:32:55.94\00:32:57.57 typically we're just fundraising for literature. 00:32:57.77\00:32:59.94 Um-hmm. But in this particular instance there's a church there 00:33:00.14\00:33:02.38 in Rio Grande, Argentina, which is... it's a very small church 00:33:02.58\00:33:06.88 and since it's so far away even from other churches 00:33:07.08\00:33:09.45 in its own conference it often times get neglected. 00:33:09.65\00:33:11.79 But they have opened up their doors to us 00:33:11.99\00:33:14.46 and they're going to allow our missionaries to stay 00:33:14.66\00:33:16.29 in the church facilities. To eat there; to have our worship 00:33:16.49\00:33:18.83 there; to sleep there; to shower there... all this kind of stuff. 00:33:19.03\00:33:21.26 But in order to do that 00:33:21.86\00:33:23.20 they're actually having to remodel a fair amount 00:33:23.37\00:33:26.57 of a section of their church. 00:33:26.77\00:33:28.20 So we're working to try to raise funds 00:33:28.40\00:33:31.34 so that we can help them do that. 00:33:31.54\00:33:32.87 Because they're actually opening up their doors as a small church 00:33:32.91\00:33:35.91 that's off in the middle of nowhere 00:33:36.11\00:33:37.51 to let our missionaries come and stay to reduce our expenses. 00:33:37.71\00:33:40.15 So when we do these mission trips we try and keep them 00:33:40.65\00:33:42.82 very inexpensive. And part of that means that we're going to 00:33:43.02\00:33:45.32 be staying at church facilities or school facilities. 00:33:45.52\00:33:48.12 And we just want to help this church down there. 00:33:48.32\00:33:50.66 Excellent! Wonderful! 00:33:50.86\00:33:52.36 I think that that is the best use of our money. 00:33:52.56\00:33:55.13 if we're not going to pay the hotel while of course 00:33:55.33\00:33:58.23 you know recruits and find some funding so the church 00:33:58.43\00:34:02.50 can permanently have that facility available 00:34:02.70\00:34:06.78 for future projects as well. 00:34:06.98\00:34:08.91 I have a question for you: 00:34:09.31\00:34:10.65 is GLOW a 501C3 for those that want to donate? Yes. 00:34:10.68\00:34:16.22 Which is non-profit. Right. GLOW is operated through... 00:34:16.42\00:34:20.46 primarily through the Central California Conference. 00:34:20.66\00:34:22.72 So if people want to donate towards a project like this 00:34:23.09\00:34:25.16 we are able to issue a tax- deductible receipt to them 00:34:25.36\00:34:28.40 and get that all taken care of. Um-hmm. Great. 00:34:28.60\00:34:30.57 Do you have like? What is the age of the youngest participants 00:34:30.77\00:34:35.40 in one of your projects? I would love to hear 00:34:35.60\00:34:38.81 one of those experiences. Well... 00:34:39.01\00:34:41.68 when we were in... so when the Super Bowl came to Santa Clara, 00:34:41.88\00:34:44.38 California, we passed out a million tracts 00:34:44.58\00:34:47.32 in San Francisco and Santa Clara as a mission trip. 00:34:47.52\00:34:49.85 And one of the missionaries was actually pregnant... so 00:34:50.05\00:34:52.85 I consider that to be our youngest participant. 00:34:53.05\00:34:55.46 You know, it's great. If you go out and you're passing out 00:34:56.32\00:34:58.99 literature and you're pregnant it really opens up some doors 00:34:59.19\00:35:00.90 'cause people are just very sympathetic. 00:35:01.06\00:35:03.06 But you know, in terms of "post-birth" participants 00:35:03.26\00:35:07.07 we've had even some little kids come along and they're great. 00:35:07.47\00:35:11.27 I remember - again - at the Super Bowl that 00:35:11.47\00:35:14.38 there were a lot of security... people with camouflage 00:35:14.58\00:35:18.38 and machine guns and stuff. Right. 00:35:18.58\00:35:19.91 And these little kids on our trip, they'd just go up 00:35:20.05\00:35:22.12 and give them these GLOW tracts. How precious! 00:35:22.32\00:35:24.45 Hey, maybe the adults didn't want to go and approach them 00:35:24.65\00:35:26.92 but the kids? They didn't care. Yes... yes. 00:35:27.12\00:35:28.66 The security people loved it. 00:35:28.86\00:35:31.49 That is wonderful! That just warms my heart. 00:35:31.69\00:35:34.30 So it's an opportunity for everyone of all ages 00:35:34.66\00:35:38.20 to consider having a GLOW project, a GLOW mission trip 00:35:38.40\00:35:43.71 project locally as well. 00:35:43.91\00:35:47.24 So we're praying for you. I know that the Lord will 00:35:47.44\00:35:49.64 bless you as you give from the heart 00:35:49.84\00:35:53.18 as the Holy Spirit moves upon your heart to support 00:35:53.38\00:35:56.22 this project to Argentina and also to the Philippines 00:35:56.42\00:36:00.96 and also to Bolivia. Um-hmm. 00:36:01.16\00:36:02.99 I'm pretty sure there are some: "Oh, I've been to Bolivia! " 00:36:03.19\00:36:06.56 Or "I've been to Argentina and of course, we'd love to 00:36:06.76\00:36:10.00 to see the people receive this material. " 00:36:10.20\00:36:14.14 It's easy reading material, right? Absolutely. 00:36:14.34\00:36:17.81 And it's... Tell me, how long would it take 00:36:18.01\00:36:21.21 the average reader to read these tracts? 00:36:21.41\00:36:24.28 So the average tract is about 1,200 words. 00:36:24.48\00:36:28.18 Obviously, it depends on what language it's translated into. 00:36:28.38\00:36:30.15 Some are longer than others like Indonesian is very long. 00:36:30.35\00:36:33.49 But it's an average of about 5-7 minutes to read through 00:36:33.69\00:36:37.23 a tract. Five to seven minutes. That's not long. 00:36:37.43\00:36:39.59 And it helps the person understand and also 00:36:39.79\00:36:43.97 let's say whet the appetite to continue studying. Right. 00:36:44.17\00:36:47.67 So in the back of the GLOW tracts what do we have 00:36:47.87\00:36:51.17 to help the people that read it get more information? 00:36:51.37\00:36:56.08 Yeah, so that's a good question. 00:36:56.28\00:36:57.81 Actually, it depends on where the tract is printed and used. 00:36:58.01\00:37:00.58 So the back panel always in the United States 00:37:00.78\00:37:03.79 has offers for free Bible studies. Excellent! 00:37:03.99\00:37:07.36 It has offers for getting ad- ditional tracts or a free book. 00:37:07.76\00:37:12.49 Different tracts will advertise different books. 00:37:12.69\00:37:14.63 For example, a health tract will advertise maybe 00:37:14.83\00:37:17.23 a healthy cookbook whereas a tract on the mark of the beast 00:37:17.43\00:37:22.80 would advertise The Great Con- troversy or something like that. 00:37:23.00\00:37:25.64 When we go to different countries to do a mission trip 00:37:26.04\00:37:28.58 we actually work with each specific country 00:37:28.78\00:37:30.75 to adapt the tracts to their - oh, good - culture - yes - 00:37:30.95\00:37:34.72 in terms of the graphics - um-hmm - 00:37:34.92\00:37:36.25 in terms of the thought content, 00:37:36.35\00:37:38.72 in terms of the translation, and then finally 00:37:38.92\00:37:41.02 in terms of what goes on the very back panel 00:37:41.22\00:37:43.06 for the contact and follow-up information. 00:37:43.26\00:37:45.06 So in Argentina for example - um-hmm - 00:37:45.26\00:37:48.10 the back panel is going to be driving people towards 00:37:48.30\00:37:51.03 these 28 simultaneous evangelistic meetings that are 00:37:51.23\00:37:53.54 happening plus they'll probably offer some Bible studies. 00:37:53.74\00:37:56.37 So it just depends on where you're at. Excellent! 00:37:57.27\00:37:59.37 I understand that there's also plans... 00:37:59.57\00:38:02.74 there are plans also to do this in the Middle East. 00:38:02.94\00:38:06.65 You probably have done it already 00:38:06.85\00:38:08.22 if you already have the tracts in those languages. 00:38:08.42\00:38:10.09 But in the future there will be plans for mission trips 00:38:10.29\00:38:12.92 to the Middle East, is that right? 00:38:13.12\00:38:14.46 Yes, uh-huh. We've already had some outreach endeavors there 00:38:14.49\00:38:18.89 and we will be having another one coming up this Fall. 00:38:19.09\00:38:23.26 So again, if people are interested in doing some of 00:38:23.47\00:38:26.23 these more "superlative" mission trips... 00:38:26.43\00:38:29.60 Going to the Middle East is definitely a superlative. 00:38:30.74\00:38:32.87 Yes indeed! We're going to take a small group this Fall 00:38:33.07\00:38:37.05 and they can learn more about that on our website: 00:38:37.35\00:38:39.88 GlowMissionTrips.org Excellent! 00:38:40.08\00:38:41.42 Well what are some of the ways... We have people listening 00:38:41.45\00:38:44.35 all over the world right now, but what are some of the 00:38:44.55\00:38:46.86 ways they can use a GLOW tract? 00:38:47.06\00:38:49.02 Yeah, well, you know I mentioned this a little bit earlier on 00:38:49.22\00:38:53.19 but not everybody can come on one of these mission trips, 00:38:53.40\00:38:56.77 right? That's right. But everybody can be a missionary 00:38:56.97\00:38:59.47 in their hometown. It's just a matter of keeping 00:38:59.67\00:39:03.57 the literature with you. In fact, we've heard stories... 00:39:03.77\00:39:06.98 You don't really have to pre-plan it sometimes. 00:39:07.18\00:39:09.58 You need to carry the literature and pray and God 00:39:09.78\00:39:12.08 will open up the doors for you to get that literature out. 00:39:12.28\00:39:14.08 Amen! Even if you don't want to get it out. 00:39:14.28\00:39:15.62 That's right. Like I'll give an example: 00:39:15.68\00:39:17.02 so I had literature with me one time 00:39:17.05\00:39:18.75 and I prayed to God: "God, give me an opportunity 00:39:18.95\00:39:22.99 to get this literature out. " So I was standing in line - 00:39:23.19\00:39:25.46 the security line in an airport that particular day - 00:39:25.66\00:39:28.93 and I felt this conviction to give a tract to the woman 00:39:29.13\00:39:31.43 who was standing right behind me in the security line. 00:39:31.63\00:39:33.27 In fact, I might have been coming out to 3ABN. 00:39:34.10\00:39:35.90 I don't remember, but... laughter... I think I was! 00:39:36.10\00:39:38.54 So anyway, for some reason you know I'm a chicken, too. 00:39:38.74\00:39:42.04 Just like the rest of us sometimes, you know? 00:39:42.24\00:39:43.58 You just don't feel like ah... You just wonder if it's 00:39:43.68\00:39:45.71 the right moment, how the person will react. 00:39:45.91\00:39:47.88 Or you're going to give it and maybe they're going to say no 00:39:48.18\00:39:49.52 or whatever. So I resisted... I didn't give it. 00:39:49.58\00:39:53.19 Well anyway, I take off - you know - my jacket 00:39:53.39\00:39:55.82 and all these things out of my pockets to put 00:39:56.02\00:39:58.23 it through the security scanning device. 00:39:58.43\00:40:00.66 And I go through the scanner; step through. 00:40:00.86\00:40:03.13 I start pulling my stuff out of the bucket - right? 00:40:03.33\00:40:05.60 on the conveyor belt. Right. I pull my jacket out 00:40:05.80\00:40:07.87 and guess what falls out of my jacket? 00:40:08.07\00:40:09.47 Tracts! All of my GLOW tracts. They fall all over the ground 00:40:09.67\00:40:12.84 and they were all just one title which says 00:40:13.04\00:40:15.31 A Gift for You. Excellent! 00:40:15.51\00:40:17.38 And the woman who was right behind me that I had felt 00:40:17.58\00:40:19.78 convicted about giving the tract to 00:40:19.98\00:40:21.45 she then at that very moment stepped through the scanner 00:40:21.65\00:40:23.52 herself and she sees all of my literature just dashed 00:40:23.72\00:40:26.69 on the floor and she literally says: 00:40:26.89\00:40:29.22 "Oh... A Gift for You. What's that? " 00:40:29.42\00:40:31.93 I mean it couldn't have gotten any easier 00:40:32.33\00:40:34.00 for me to give the tract to her. 00:40:34.20\00:40:35.73 Praise the Lord! Affirmation! Well yeah, I mean like 00:40:35.93\00:40:39.03 if you carry literature with you you'd better be pretty proactive 00:40:39.23\00:40:41.60 in getting it out otherwise, God might organize 00:40:41.84\00:40:43.51 circumstances you know so that it gets out on its own. 00:40:43.71\00:40:46.14 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord that it spilled out. 00:40:46.34\00:40:49.21 Because in some places... Just the other day I was in the store 00:40:50.38\00:40:54.62 and I went to the parking lot 00:40:54.82\00:40:56.18 and I offered to help somebody. I don't know who the person was. 00:40:56.38\00:41:00.26 Just a gentleman. And we engaged in conversation. 00:41:00.46\00:41:03.96 And I'm thinking... I'm talking with him and I'm like: 00:41:04.16\00:41:06.93 "What do I have that I can give him? " 00:41:07.13\00:41:09.56 And at that time I didn't have anything on me. 00:41:09.76\00:41:14.30 So the size of these GLOW tracts fits in my purse. 00:41:14.50\00:41:18.67 Are small enough? That's right; it definitely does. 00:41:18.87\00:41:20.68 You just said you fit it in your suit jacket. 00:41:20.88\00:41:22.81 In your pocket so it's handy to have. 00:41:23.91\00:41:27.52 Absolutely! Yep, we try and keep them small 00:41:27.68\00:41:29.85 and keep them inexpensive so people can carry them easily. 00:41:30.05\00:41:32.99 YES! You know, you asked: "How can people do this 00:41:33.19\00:41:35.99 just you know in their everyday life? " 00:41:36.19\00:41:38.16 I like to always when I get asked that question 00:41:38.36\00:41:40.73 just emphasize at least two different ideas. 00:41:40.93\00:41:42.96 You know there's... I could give literally a three-hour seminar 00:41:43.16\00:41:46.84 on different ideas because we've gotten all kinds of stories 00:41:47.04\00:41:49.14 of how church members pass these things out. 00:41:49.34\00:41:51.37 Um-hmm. But if I had to just distill it down to the top two 00:41:51.57\00:41:55.04 that I think are practical for everyday life 00:41:55.24\00:41:56.95 I would say number one 00:41:57.35\00:42:00.32 is at gas stations and number two is in parking lots. 00:42:00.52\00:42:03.12 Um-hmm. Because all of us go to the gas station eventually. 00:42:03.32\00:42:05.32 That's right. And all of us go to a parking lot eventually. 00:42:05.52\00:42:07.46 Right? 'Cause, we have errands in town. 00:42:07.66\00:42:09.39 Um-hmm. So when you go to a parking lot 00:42:09.59\00:42:12.23 you can leave literature on a car door. 00:42:12.43\00:42:14.70 And that's a very efficient way of getting literature out 00:42:14.90\00:42:18.23 in a large amount. Just park a little bit further 00:42:18.43\00:42:20.84 away from the store and then you can zig-zag 00:42:21.00\00:42:23.24 in and out of a few cars as you're going in. Um-hmm. 00:42:23.44\00:42:25.74 You don't want to do that when you're coming out with a 00:42:25.94\00:42:27.28 shopping cart. That could be hard. Frustrating. 00:42:27.61\00:42:29.44 And then you just put it on the driver's side car door 00:42:29.64\00:42:31.28 if they're a GLOW tract because they fold nicely to go in there. 00:42:31.48\00:42:34.22 Yes. So even if you're afraid 00:42:34.42\00:42:36.89 of giving it directly to some- body; afraid you're going to get 00:42:37.09\00:42:39.35 rejected you can put it in a car door. 00:42:39.55\00:42:41.76 And inevitably they're going to have to interact with that 00:42:41.96\00:42:44.49 piece of literature because they have to put their hand 00:42:44.69\00:42:46.13 on the handle, right? In fact, it's kind of funny. 00:42:46.33\00:42:48.16 One of our authors who's written quite a few of our tracts - 00:42:48.36\00:42:50.60 Steve Wohlberg - he wrote in to the GLOW ministry one day 00:42:50.80\00:42:54.37 and said: "Hey, somebody GLOWed me! " 00:42:54.57\00:42:56.04 He had his car parked at a grocery store or something 00:42:56.84\00:42:59.64 and somebody had put a tract on his car. Awesome! 00:42:59.84\00:43:01.58 But, yeah... that's one way of doing it. 00:43:02.41\00:43:05.15 Also gas stations. When you're at your pump 00:43:05.35\00:43:07.78 you can leave a piece of literature there for the person 00:43:07.98\00:43:10.89 who comes after you. You can put it on the pump 00:43:11.05\00:43:12.69 in between where the holster 00:43:12.89\00:43:14.79 where the gas nozzle goes back in. That's right. 00:43:14.99\00:43:18.86 There's different places you can put it. 00:43:19.26\00:43:21.30 It's up to you. And if you're feeling really brave, 00:43:21.50\00:43:23.90 then you can go while you're waiting for your gas 00:43:24.10\00:43:26.30 you can go and put them on the other empty gas pumps 00:43:26.50\00:43:29.00 or if you're feeling extremely brave you can 00:43:29.20\00:43:31.21 go up to the people who are actually pumping gas 00:43:31.41\00:43:34.01 and give it to them because they're not going to go 00:43:34.21\00:43:35.64 anywhere. I mean, they're stuck there with their gas 00:43:35.84\00:43:37.68 going. And the way that I like to do it 00:43:37.88\00:43:39.85 is I'll go up to the people and I'll say: 00:43:40.05\00:43:42.25 "Excuse me, sir or ma'am. 00:43:42.45\00:43:44.79 Do you mind if I leave this here for the person... 00:43:44.99\00:43:47.59 if I leave this on the pump for the person who's going to 00:43:47.79\00:43:50.53 come next? " I'm not even giving it to them. 00:43:50.73\00:43:54.40 Right? So it's not like they're going to reject me 00:43:54.60\00:43:56.97 and say: "No, I don't want it. " 00:43:57.17\00:43:58.50 So it's a very safe way of doing it for me. 00:43:58.53\00:44:00.84 That's right. And 9 times out of 10 00:44:01.04\00:44:03.30 they'll say: "Yeah, not a problem. " 00:44:03.51\00:44:05.07 But then also 9 times out of 10 00:44:05.47\00:44:07.08 they'll get interested and they'll ask for one themselves 00:44:07.28\00:44:09.14 or they'll just take the one that I put there 00:44:09.34\00:44:11.18 because they're interested in seeing what I just left behind. 00:44:11.38\00:44:13.31 So it's kind of a "chicken" way of doing it 00:44:13.52\00:44:15.22 for those who need some extra help, you know. 00:44:15.42\00:44:16.89 Well you know... Laundromats are very good too. 00:44:17.29\00:44:20.76 This is true. Laundromats. 00:44:20.96\00:44:22.56 On Sundays there's a lot of people there 00:44:22.76\00:44:25.33 at the laundromat. You know, I have a story 00:44:25.53\00:44:27.93 on that, so... Oh! OK. 00:44:28.13\00:44:30.27 We've encouraged people to do laundromats for years too. 00:44:30.47\00:44:32.83 Uh-huh. There was one lady in Washington state. 00:44:33.03\00:44:35.37 She was putting her GLOW tracts into her local laundromat 00:44:35.57\00:44:38.77 on a regular basis, but she noticed that the tracts 00:44:38.97\00:44:41.01 were disappearing rather quickly 00:44:41.21\00:44:43.14 when she would go there again. 00:44:43.35\00:44:45.41 'Cause she'd put a sizeable tract and she was wondering 00:44:45.61\00:44:47.45 "Well, why are these tracts going so quickly? 00:44:47.65\00:44:49.32 I mean, is somebody throwing them away? " 00:44:49.52\00:44:50.85 So she... one time when she was in the laundromat 00:44:51.12\00:44:54.72 she saw the postman come in 00:44:54.92\00:44:56.93 and the postman picked up a whole stack of her tracts 00:44:57.13\00:44:59.29 and put them into his mail satchel and started walking out. 00:44:59.49\00:45:01.70 And she stopped him and she said: 00:45:02.10\00:45:03.43 "Excuse me, what are you doing 00:45:03.53\00:45:05.83 with that stuff, you picked up? " 00:45:06.03\00:45:08.10 And he said: "Oh! I read these and I think they're really good. 00:45:08.30\00:45:11.51 I like to give them to the people when I deliver mail. " 00:45:11.71\00:45:13.51 Oh wow! So the postman - inter- esting - actually turned into 00:45:13.71\00:45:17.08 a missionary - Amen - and delivered the GLOW tracts. Amen! 00:45:17.28\00:45:19.21 So yeah... that's a great place to put 'em. 00:45:19.41\00:45:22.08 Well I've been to the laundromat quite a few times. 00:45:22.28\00:45:24.85 It's boring, so I take my reading material with me. 00:45:25.05\00:45:29.62 I take my work with me... my computer with me. 00:45:29.82\00:45:31.89 But I have also given tracts away to people that I say: 00:45:32.09\00:45:36.03 "Hey, here's some material for you to read while 00:45:36.23\00:45:40.14 your laundry is being done. " 00:45:40.34\00:45:42.40 So there are different opportunities. I think that 00:45:42.60\00:45:46.04 you guys have material for families, so if you're at 00:45:46.24\00:45:49.61 the park... you know, you see someone there... then it's 00:45:49.81\00:45:52.78 a non-invasive way of approaching the family. 00:45:52.98\00:45:58.15 So this is for families, for single people, 00:45:58.35\00:46:00.89 for grandma and grandpas to read as well. 00:46:01.09\00:46:03.73 You can also put literature in an airplane, if you're flying. 00:46:03.93\00:46:06.83 Yes. You know, there might be that magazine there. 00:46:07.03\00:46:09.06 Just put a bookmark in it. 00:46:09.26\00:46:11.57 That's right. You can give it to your seatmate who's sitting 00:46:11.77\00:46:13.64 next to you. We've had a lot of incredible stories 00:46:13.84\00:46:15.77 from that. You can leave it inside of your hotel room 00:46:15.97\00:46:19.37 if you stay at a hotel. 00:46:19.57\00:46:21.18 Leave a tip with that, though. 00:46:21.38\00:46:23.04 What's that? 00:46:23.24\00:46:24.58 Leave a tip. Oh yes... of course. 00:46:24.61\00:46:26.75 For the housekeeper. That's what we usually do. 00:46:27.08\00:46:28.95 We leave a tract and of course with a love gift for them 00:46:29.15\00:46:33.46 for their labor because... You know, it's nice that 00:46:33.66\00:46:36.73 we leave a tract but also you know they have needs as well. 00:46:36.93\00:46:41.13 Yeah, absolutely! So accompany it if you can. 00:46:41.33\00:46:45.23 I'm just plugging... sure... let me give a plug for the 00:46:45.43\00:46:49.20 housekeepers. So we have a story actually from these two methods 00:46:49.40\00:46:53.98 that I just mentioned. Yes. 00:46:54.18\00:46:55.51 There was a person that works for a TV personality 00:46:55.71\00:47:01.62 named Montel Williams. 00:47:01.82\00:47:03.39 He was kind of high up; kind of like his right-hand guy. 00:47:03.59\00:47:06.25 And he found one of our GLOW tracts 00:47:06.45\00:47:10.33 on the topic of health. It was actually the tract 00:47:10.53\00:47:14.06 called Steps to Health that talks about the 8 natural 00:47:14.26\00:47:17.43 doctors...Yes! the NEWSTART principles. 00:47:17.63\00:47:20.20 Um-hmm. He found that tract in his hotel room, 00:47:20.40\00:47:23.04 and he called the phone number on the back panel 00:47:23.24\00:47:26.24 and got ahold of the GLOW director in the 00:47:26.44\00:47:30.75 Upper Columbia Conference based in Spokane, Washington. 00:47:30.95\00:47:34.88 And he said: "I read this tract. I think this is one of the best 00:47:35.08\00:47:38.12 write-ups on health. " Amen! "Montel is just now getting into 00:47:38.32\00:47:41.02 health. " And he ordered 1,000 tracts while he was on the phone 00:47:41.22\00:47:44.23 and said he was going to call and order more. 00:47:44.43\00:47:45.93 The reason why it stood out to him though 00:47:46.13\00:47:47.46 wasn't just because of the content. 00:47:47.66\00:47:49.00 He told Jordana, who was our GLOW person up there at the time 00:47:49.20\00:47:52.83 he said: "This also stood out to me because 00:47:53.03\00:47:55.47 I just got this exact same tract while I was flying. 00:47:55.67\00:48:00.21 It was in the airplane 00:48:00.41\00:48:02.41 so I got this thing two times: once in the airplane... " 00:48:02.61\00:48:04.71 Wonderful! "and once in the hotel room. " 00:48:04.91\00:48:06.38 Like the Lord is saying: "Hint, hint... hint, hint. " 00:48:06.58\00:48:08.22 Yeah. He was trying to get his attention. 00:48:08.62\00:48:11.02 Yeah. Praise the Lord! 00:48:11.22\00:48:12.55 So another just real quick one while I'm thinking about 00:48:12.89\00:48:15.72 airplanes. An associate of mine 00:48:16.02\00:48:17.83 actually was flying in first-class recently 00:48:18.03\00:48:21.63 and he noticed a person who was sitting next to him 00:48:21.83\00:48:24.97 and felt like: "I need to maybe give this person a piece of 00:48:25.17\00:48:27.84 literature. " So when the plane landed he began to talk to him 00:48:28.04\00:48:33.81 and asked him: 'So like what do you do? " 00:48:34.01\00:48:35.54 He noticed he was reading a history book. 00:48:35.74\00:48:37.35 And come to find out that this guy actually was 00:48:37.55\00:48:41.18 the governor of Arizona. 00:48:41.38\00:48:42.92 Oh! And he didn't know until the governor actually told him 00:48:43.12\00:48:46.55 "I'm the governor of Arizona. " 00:48:46.76\00:48:48.09 This happened just a few months ago actually. 00:48:48.12\00:48:50.19 So he gave him his business card which was a GLOW tract. 00:48:50.39\00:48:52.76 Oh! It was perfect. 00:48:52.96\00:48:54.30 Excellent! Excellent! You never know who you're going to meet. 00:48:54.43\00:48:56.87 You also never know the impact one little GLOW tract 00:48:57.07\00:49:01.37 will have. Because like this person 00:49:01.57\00:49:04.01 that you mentioned that found it in the hotel 00:49:04.21\00:49:06.71 and also saw it on the plane. 00:49:06.91\00:49:08.24 He knows people... and the people you give this to 00:49:08.31\00:49:12.11 may know hundreds if not thousands of people 00:49:12.31\00:49:14.95 that they can share it with. 00:49:15.15\00:49:16.48 So you never know how far one of these tracts can go. 00:49:16.55\00:49:19.99 You know, one of the things I'd like to share 00:49:20.19\00:49:22.66 with you here and you at home: 00:49:22.86\00:49:25.39 The Lord provides opportunities for us to serve other people. 00:49:25.59\00:49:29.83 That's right. And it's my desire 00:49:30.03\00:49:32.10 for you all to just pray before you leave your home 00:49:32.30\00:49:35.74 or once you start your day in your day worship 00:49:35.94\00:49:38.67 just pray and say: "Lord please, help me be sensitive 00:49:38.87\00:49:43.41 to the opportunities that You will lay before me 00:49:43.61\00:49:45.95 to share a smile, compassion. " You know, 00:49:46.15\00:49:49.98 carry somebody's grocery bags or what have you. 00:49:50.19\00:49:53.46 And have a tract. Have SOMETHING to just... 00:49:53.66\00:49:57.56 it's a seed that you're plant- ing. That's right! That's right! 00:49:57.76\00:50:00.36 You are laboring for Jesus. Amen! 00:50:00.56\00:50:03.97 And the Lord will send the rain and the sunshine 00:50:04.17\00:50:07.54 that that little seed needs you know for the Holy Spirit 00:50:07.74\00:50:10.97 after they read this material. 00:50:11.17\00:50:12.84 So please: take care and please be sensitive 00:50:13.04\00:50:16.68 to those opportunities - Amen! Amen! 00:50:16.88\00:50:18.81 that the Lord will lay before you. 00:50:19.01\00:50:20.35 Well Nelson, maybe somebody just tuned in the last 5 min. 00:50:20.38\00:50:23.12 Can you give us a one-minute - briefly - 00:50:23.32\00:50:27.49 about the mission trips?
