Praise the Lord for that. 00:01:52.87\00:01:54.21 But we have an exciting program today, don't we? 00:01:54.38\00:01:55.94 Looking forward to... oh, I don't know... spending time 00:01:56.14\00:01:58.58 with our family. Can I say that? Absolutely! 00:01:58.78\00:02:01.15 I always love the Today program - me too! 00:02:01.35\00:02:02.68 because we get to feature testimonies and ministries 00:02:02.75\00:02:05.65 and see what God is doing in and through the lives 00:02:05.85\00:02:08.42 of individuals and ministries all over the world. 00:02:08.62\00:02:11.09 And we have... I was going to say... one of the oldest 00:02:11.29\00:02:14.63 television ministries. But this does not mean that 00:02:14.83\00:02:16.97 the people here on this set are old. Yeah! No. 00:02:17.17\00:02:18.83 OK, we just want to make that clear right off the bat. 00:02:19.03\00:02:21.10 So we have Pastor Shawn Boonstra 00:02:21.30\00:02:23.47 and his beautiful wife Jean. 00:02:23.67\00:02:25.01 Shawn, of course, is the speaker/director 00:02:25.04\00:02:27.14 for Voice of Prophecy and his wife Jean is Assoc. Speaker. 00:02:27.34\00:02:30.61 And we're just so delighted to have you both here 00:02:30.81\00:02:33.48 at 3ABN. Love your heart for evangelism - that's right - 00:02:33.68\00:02:36.95 and the ministry of Voice of Prophecy. So welcome. 00:02:37.15\00:02:39.42 Hey, thanks for havin' us. 00:02:39.62\00:02:40.96 I notice I didn't get the appel- lation beautiful but you did. 00:02:40.99\00:02:43.43 Ahh... It never seems to come out. 00:02:43.63\00:02:45.63 You know, you've been a long-time friend of course 00:02:48.23\00:02:50.00 of the ministry of 3ABN. Yes! Of course the Voice of Prophecy 00:02:50.20\00:02:52.50 as well. You've been at VOP for what? Ten years? 00:02:52.70\00:02:55.37 Not quite. Nine now. I think it's about nine years. 00:02:55.57\00:02:57.64 Yeah? 2013. Yep... yeah. 00:02:57.84\00:03:02.14 Very good. Before we get into more of what's happening 00:03:02.34\00:03:04.28 'cause there's a lot of exciting things happening at VOP 00:03:04.48\00:03:07.12 tell us something that maybe someone at home... 00:03:07.32\00:03:09.35 They see you on stage and Discovery Mountain 00:03:09.55\00:03:12.42 Jean you are there, 00:03:12.62\00:03:13.96 so tell us something that maybe someone at home 00:03:13.99\00:03:15.89 wouldn't really know about you guys. Maybe your family. 00:03:16.09\00:03:17.69 You have some kids. Yep. We do? We do! 00:03:17.89\00:03:20.93 Have kids? Yeah, two! Two daughters. 00:03:21.13\00:03:23.23 OK. We had a big family event recently. 00:03:23.43\00:03:25.63 Our oldest daughter got married. 00:03:25.83\00:03:27.70 So that was really... You all don't look old enough to have... 00:03:27.90\00:03:30.91 I like the guy, too! Yeah. For decades you wonder... 00:03:31.94\00:03:34.34 It's like somebody's going to come around and ask 00:03:34.54\00:03:36.08 for my daughter's hand. Right. Nope, I already don't like him. 00:03:36.28\00:03:39.78 But I like this guy. I LIKE this guy! 00:03:39.98\00:03:41.65 So... Yeah, he's studying for the ministry, so... 00:03:41.85\00:03:44.19 Yeah, that's great. Well that's a big event. 00:03:44.39\00:03:46.92 It was. It was a fun, wonderful celebration. 00:03:47.12\00:03:49.42 Then you have a younger daughter then? 00:03:49.82\00:03:52.43 So our younger daughter is still in college. 00:03:52.63\00:03:54.70 Yes. She's on the West Coast studying 00:03:54.90\00:03:56.46 and so kind of figuring out. She's changed her major 00:03:56.67\00:03:59.03 I think three times, so I'm not exactly sure 00:03:59.23\00:04:01.34 where she'll land but she can figure it out. 00:04:01.54\00:04:03.41 I'm still workin' on mine, too. 00:04:03.91\00:04:05.34 We all are. You know life is a journey. Yes! 00:04:06.14\00:04:08.41 True. So tell us: what is Voice of Prophecy? 00:04:08.61\00:04:11.55 Maybe someone watching is saying 00:04:11.75\00:04:13.21 "I'm not really familiar with Voice of Prophecy. " 00:04:13.42\00:04:14.88 Tell us a little bit about the origin of Voice of Prophecy 00:04:15.08\00:04:17.42 and what the ministry is about. Voice of Prophecy 00:04:17.62\00:04:18.99 Voice of Prophecy: 1929 a preacher by the name of 00:04:19.19\00:04:21.66 H.M.S. Richards who is from Loveland, Colorado. 00:04:21.86\00:04:25.13 We moved the ministry back there. 00:04:25.33\00:04:26.80 Just 8 years ago we moved it there. 00:04:28.33\00:04:30.33 Yeah. He got a burden. He thought, you know, radio 00:04:30.53\00:04:33.13 was pretty new-fangled technology. 00:04:33.34\00:04:35.07 The Internet of the 1920's. 00:04:35.27\00:04:36.71 And he thought we ought to be preaching on there. 00:04:36.91\00:04:40.08 And there was some resistance back in the day. 00:04:40.48\00:04:42.24 "No, it's too new-fangled. It's probably the devil's tool. " 00:04:42.44\00:04:44.28 And that kind of stuff. Right? Yeah. 00:04:44.48\00:04:46.45 Probably the devil's tool. And so he started. 00:04:46.65\00:04:48.88 He started making sermons in a chicken coop 00:04:49.08\00:04:50.95 and then running the recordings down to 00:04:51.15\00:04:53.86 KNX Radio in Los Angeles. 00:04:54.06\00:04:55.66 It was called Tabernacle of the Air. 00:04:55.86\00:04:58.13 It was very old-timey and eventually more sophisticated. 00:04:58.33\00:05:01.16 So it's been on the air continuously since 1929. 00:05:01.36\00:05:04.07 Wow! Yeah. So it started out radio. Yep! 00:05:04.27\00:05:06.84 When did it switch to TV? We didn't switch. 00:05:07.04\00:05:10.24 I think we added television. 00:05:10.44\00:05:11.77 And that's very recent. 00:05:13.14\00:05:15.34 That's really... I mean off and on there have been 00:05:15.54\00:05:18.08 television programs as part of Voice of Prophecy 00:05:18.28\00:05:20.85 but really it's been what? The last two years? 00:05:21.05\00:05:23.55 As a regular weekly thing it's just the last couple of years - 00:05:23.75\00:05:25.99 yeah - we added that. 00:05:26.19\00:05:27.82 It's tricky, too, because now... We do it at once. 00:05:28.02\00:05:30.23 I don't have the bandwidth to do both 00:05:30.43\00:05:32.13 and live on the road 00:05:32.33\00:05:33.66 to do radio and TV so we... 00:05:33.70\00:05:35.90 we had an older... older? it's not that old... but 00:05:36.10\00:05:39.53 I had a one-hour talk radio show 00:05:39.73\00:05:41.70 that we dispensed with, and now I do one show in two. 00:05:41.90\00:05:44.47 So I've gotta think all the time: "OK, 00:05:44.67\00:05:46.61 don't use visuals because it's pointless... 00:05:46.81\00:05:51.05 most of the audience is on radio. 00:05:51.25\00:05:52.58 Right. Well you do similar, right? 00:05:52.78\00:05:55.42 You know, you tape the program and it's on 3ABN Radio. 00:05:55.62\00:05:57.95 Similar concept, yeah. 00:05:58.15\00:05:59.49 You have to think you know: "They can't actually see 00:05:59.55\00:06:00.89 what I'm holding up. " So tell us about the facility 00:06:01.09\00:06:03.02 then in Loveland, Colorado, because you said 00:06:03.22\00:06:04.56 you recently moved there in the last 10 years or so. 00:06:04.73\00:06:06.36 So tell us what you have there. 00:06:06.56\00:06:07.90 Oh, we're in an old bank building. 00:06:07.93\00:06:09.50 OK. And it's Chase Manhattan Bank 00:06:09.70\00:06:12.40 that'd been sitting empty for a while. 00:06:12.60\00:06:14.47 The VOP had been in Los Angeles for a long time 00:06:14.67\00:06:17.11 and it had fallen on some hard times for a little while. 00:06:17.31\00:06:19.34 And somebody asked us: "Hey, are you guys willing to go 00:06:19.74\00:06:23.01 there? " And I said: "It's on hard times... NO. " 00:06:23.21\00:06:24.85 It's like: "NO, I'm not going to go there. " 00:06:25.25\00:06:27.35 By the next morning you said: "You're going to go, 00:06:28.38\00:06:30.39 aren't you? " I said: "Oh yeah. It's like 00:06:30.59\00:06:31.95 the next morning... I do. 00:06:32.15\00:06:34.12 Yeah. I'm very stubborn but I repent fast. 00:06:34.32\00:06:37.69 And so I said: "You know we're not going to stay 00:06:38.66\00:06:40.93 in the Los Angeles area. Families can't afford to live 00:06:41.13\00:06:43.50 here any more... young families with kids. 00:06:43.70\00:06:45.30 So we moved to Loveland, CO, which turns out that's where 00:06:45.50\00:06:48.34 the founder was born, went to school, started preaching 00:06:48.54\00:06:50.77 in those hills there. Wow! 00:06:50.97\00:06:52.31 And I walk... On my way to work every morning 00:06:52.34\00:06:53.84 I walk past the lake where he was baptized as a kid. 00:06:54.04\00:06:56.58 That's really special... it really is. Yeah! 00:06:56.78\00:06:58.55 So we're in an old bank building. We put the little TV 00:06:58.75\00:07:01.22 studio in what used to be the vault. 00:07:01.42\00:07:02.95 Yep. And the radio studio... we found a guy... 00:07:03.15\00:07:06.89 You know, it was a little bit in tatters 00:07:07.09\00:07:08.69 but we found a guy Ruben. Ruben, I know you'd be watching. 00:07:08.89\00:07:10.96 I love you man. Amen. 00:07:11.16\00:07:12.93 He was like a CBS radio station night manager. 00:07:13.13\00:07:15.16 We called him and he said: "Yeah, I'll come. " 00:07:15.36\00:07:17.13 And I said: "Have you ever built a radio studio? " 00:07:17.53\00:07:19.03 "No... but I will. " Wow! And he did! 00:07:19.23\00:07:21.27 It's like: "How about a TV stu- dio? Ever built one of those? " 00:07:21.47\00:07:23.10 "No... but I will. " We've got a great team. Amen! Wow! 00:07:23.30\00:07:25.74 Great people to have like that. 00:07:25.94\00:07:27.28 So we operate in a bank, and if we run out of funding 00:07:27.38\00:07:29.38 the new bank is right next door 00:07:29.58\00:07:31.51 and the basements share a wall. 00:07:31.71\00:07:36.25 Yeah. Enough said, right? 00:07:36.45\00:07:38.55 I just said that on TV so now I'm... Now we know. 00:07:39.85\00:07:43.09 I love that! 00:07:44.23\00:07:45.56 So tell us: with the COVID pandemic a lot of things have 00:07:45.59\00:07:49.46 been affected, even television ministries and radio ministries. 00:07:49.66\00:07:52.83 So what has happened to VOP during that time? 00:07:53.03\00:07:55.20 We like to say we're not really a media ministry. 00:07:55.40\00:07:57.87 We do it because it reaches hearts. People can hear about 00:07:58.07\00:08:00.78 Christ, but we're an evangelistic ministry. 00:08:00.98\00:08:03.04 It's what we eat, sleep, and breathe. 00:08:03.24\00:08:04.68 And so that's just one of our tools, and if you dare call it 00:08:04.88\00:08:07.75 a media ministry in our office it's like: "Nah, nah, nah, nah, 00:08:07.95\00:08:10.59 that's not what we are. " So we had developed plans 00:08:10.79\00:08:15.02 we were going to host 1,000 simultaneous evangelistic 00:08:15.22\00:08:17.96 meetings across America. A thousand? Yeah. 00:08:18.16\00:08:20.50 Well here's why. I thought: "You know what? 00:08:20.70\00:08:23.47 For years the Lord has blessed us with all the nice toys. " 00:08:23.67\00:08:26.43 We have great resources. You're in a media ministry. 00:08:26.63\00:08:28.80 I've worked at several. And when I was a church pastor 00:08:29.00\00:08:31.87 I didn't have any of that stuff. So basically giving the store 00:08:32.07\00:08:34.31 away: if I have it, you have it. 00:08:34.51\00:08:35.84 You get the same resources and how about I do this. 00:08:36.04\00:08:38.81 You've never held evangelistic meetings? 00:08:39.01\00:08:40.35 Why don't we open all up on the same night? 00:08:40.38\00:08:42.08 I'll hold worker's meeting on Zoom every morning. 00:08:42.28\00:08:44.05 Wow! And do a thousand. 00:08:44.25\00:08:45.95 So we were 10 days into that and churches were excited. 00:08:46.15\00:08:48.09 Man, we had the first 250 or 300 meetings going 00:08:48.29\00:08:50.99 and ten days in it all gets shut down 00:08:51.19\00:08:55.43 and everybody gets sent home. 00:08:55.63\00:08:56.97 Springs of 2020... and the churches are impacted. Yep. 00:08:57.00\00:09:00.30 And some lingered to the bitter end 00:09:00.50\00:09:02.57 till the state said "Go home. " And some had baptized a few 00:09:02.77\00:09:06.31 already 10 days in. Oh wow! BUT 00:09:06.51\00:09:08.31 it's OK. We've been biding our time and we're kicking that ball 00:09:09.44\00:09:12.25 down the field again right now. But it wiped out 00:09:12.45\00:09:14.15 our most ambitious project ever... COVID. 00:09:14.35\00:09:16.15 It just shut us down. Um-hmm. 00:09:16.35\00:09:17.69 Yeah. But it didn't shut VOP down! 00:09:17.72\00:09:19.79 Oh no, no, no. So then what did you do? 00:09:19.99\00:09:22.29 That obviously is like "Whoa! " A big wrench so to speak. 00:09:22.49\00:09:24.83 So what did you do to re-group? 00:09:25.03\00:09:26.36 A couple of things... a couple of things. 00:09:26.96\00:09:28.83 And I almost don't dare say one of them out loud. 00:09:29.03\00:09:30.77 But we thought: "This isn't over. " 00:09:30.97\00:09:33.57 Everybody was excited. We're going to kick 00:09:33.77\00:09:35.17 the ball down the field again. 00:09:35.37\00:09:36.71 And we're doing that this year because it seems to be now. 00:09:36.74\00:09:39.21 But what if we can't have live meetings the way we have? 00:09:39.41\00:09:42.24 Maybe this is a new normal for quite a while. 00:09:42.44\00:09:44.15 Some pandemics last a decade. Um-hmm. 00:09:44.31\00:09:46.11 So we've been working on a virtual platform... 00:09:46.31\00:09:49.22 a virtual evangelistic platform. 00:09:49.42\00:09:50.82 Smart. Yeah. And you know "Why don't you just use Zoom, 00:09:51.02\00:09:53.66 Shawn? " Well Zoom doesn't behave like a church. 00:09:53.86\00:09:55.52 Doesn't have greeters in the lobby. 00:09:55.72\00:09:57.19 So you can present; there's a greeter or somebody who can 00:09:57.39\00:09:59.76 talk to you and pray with you. 00:09:59.96\00:10:01.30 When you have an altar call people can actually go 00:10:01.50\00:10:03.06 into one of the breakout rooms with one person 00:10:03.26\00:10:05.57 and pray together. Yes! And the nice thing 00:10:05.77\00:10:07.60 I think about this is I've been watching. 00:10:07.80\00:10:10.27 If you have an unpopular opinion these days, 00:10:10.47\00:10:12.17 you're gone. So I don't want to rely on Zoom 00:10:12.37\00:10:14.68 or Facebook or any of those so we're just gonna own one. 00:10:14.88\00:10:17.38 We're just building one that we can use. 00:10:17.58\00:10:18.91 Oh, I love that! Wow! That's great. 00:10:19.01\00:10:21.65 So you can't kick us off. Yep, can't kick us off. Really good. 00:10:21.85\00:10:23.59 Yeah. I get threatened to be kicked out all the time... 00:10:23.79\00:10:26.55 That happens all the time. 00:10:26.76\00:10:28.09 I've been kicked out of great places. 00:10:28.16\00:10:29.49 You know, praise the Lord for that, though. For people 00:10:29.56\00:10:30.93 you know, your team. You're able to tap into that skill level 00:10:31.29\00:10:34.36 to do that. Um-hmm. That's really smart. 00:10:34.56\00:10:35.96 Praise the Lord. Yeah. 00:10:36.16\00:10:37.97 So I'm noticing here on your... You're not wearing a tie. 00:10:38.17\00:10:42.30 Mr. Danny you know... he doesn't wear a tie. 00:10:42.50\00:10:44.47 He wore a tie for the wedding. 00:10:44.67\00:10:46.41 That was... I had no choice! 00:10:46.61\00:10:48.11 Documentable. I had no choice. 00:10:48.31\00:10:50.91 So Jean, your husband's wearing a logo on his T-shirt. 00:10:51.11\00:10:55.05 I never do that. You don't? OK. 00:10:55.25\00:10:56.75 It says Authentic. That's our new program at the VOP. 00:10:56.95\00:11:02.26 And people can watch it right here on 3ABN. 00:11:02.46\00:11:04.86 So it's your new baby... you should talk about it. 00:11:05.06\00:11:07.30 This is mine? Yeah! 00:11:07.50\00:11:09.03 I... I don't know... We had that talk radio 00:11:09.23\00:11:12.07 that went for an hour. It was going OK - um-hmm - 00:11:12.27\00:11:14.37 but I've had this burden. I know where I come from. 00:11:14.57\00:11:17.17 I still call myself a recovering heathen. 00:11:17.37\00:11:19.81 That's what I am: a recovering heathen. 00:11:20.01\00:11:21.68 I'm saved; I'm good with Jesus 00:11:21.88\00:11:23.38 but I'm still in recovery - wow - for sure. We all are! 00:11:23.58\00:11:27.12 Yeah... it's a process. 00:11:27.32\00:11:29.45 What do the people that I left from the old life 00:11:29.65\00:11:31.95 think about every day? Where do they dwell? 00:11:32.15\00:11:34.96 And it's all the big, deep existential questions. 00:11:35.16\00:11:36.93 What do all human beings in all generations 00:11:37.13\00:11:38.99 and all cultures hold in common? 00:11:39.19\00:11:40.53 Why am I here? What's the meaning of life? 00:11:40.80\00:11:42.73 Hmm! Is there anything out there? 00:11:42.93\00:11:44.27 Are the philosophers right at the university I'm studying at? 00:11:44.43\00:11:47.10 That when I die that's it? Lights out? 00:11:47.30\00:11:49.17 There was no purpose to this? 00:11:49.37\00:11:50.71 So we're doing the deep existential questions. 00:11:50.74\00:11:53.24 But the branding isn't deep existential. It's not Plato. 00:11:53.44\00:11:56.11 And it's like OK... I said to the team: 00:11:56.31\00:11:58.31 "This has to... We're going to deal with these questions 00:11:58.51\00:12:01.02 that everybody struggles with in the quiet of the night. " 00:12:01.22\00:12:03.25 Why do I hurt? Why do I... Right. 00:12:03.45\00:12:06.22 We're going to talk about that. My background was in political 00:12:06.42\00:12:08.76 science and philosophy and economics. 00:12:08.96\00:12:10.89 Yeah, OK. I thought: "No, I had to read all those books. 00:12:11.09\00:12:13.50 May as well use them. They're all reading them 00:12:13.70\00:12:15.13 and so let's talk about it. " 00:12:15.53\00:12:17.13 Let's talk about what Plato actually said. 00:12:17.33\00:12:19.53 Let's talk about what Immanuel Kant actually said. 00:12:19.73\00:12:23.67 But let's do it in street language. Let's not 00:12:23.87\00:12:25.97 make this a seminar at the college 00:12:26.17\00:12:28.84 because that's boring. Right. And so the branding is for 00:12:29.04\00:12:31.88 what I call "Joe Six-Pack. " 00:12:32.08\00:12:33.42 "I've done work; I'm goin' home. " 00:12:33.82\00:12:36.65 And so I kept... The logo... We kept workin' on that 00:12:36.85\00:12:39.35 for a little bit. But let me give you the flavor of the show. 00:12:39.55\00:12:41.76 Right? Sounds good. Can we run the Authentic opener? 00:12:41.96\00:12:45.29 Yeah. I think that's video #1. 00:12:45.49\00:12:46.83 OK. Let's go to that roll right now. 00:12:47.03\00:12:48.73 Love that program! That'll grab your attention. 00:13:19.89\00:13:22.30 It will. Such a great opener! 00:13:22.50\00:13:24.10 We air it, of course, here on 3ABN. Yes we do! 00:13:24.30\00:13:27.04 5:30 PM Central every Saturday afternoon. Amen. 00:13:27.24\00:13:30.97 I'm so grateful for the partnership with VOP. 00:13:31.17\00:13:33.41 But tell us about the response that you're getting to this 00:13:33.61\00:13:35.74 program. We get response here at 3ABN. Oh yeah, good response. 00:13:35.94\00:13:38.61 Tell us about the response you're getting. 00:13:38.81\00:13:40.15 It's... So far we got a couple of responses. 00:13:40.18\00:13:43.55 One was: All right... the saints: 00:13:43.75\00:13:45.69 "Where's your tie? " OK, I get it... I get it. 00:13:45.89\00:13:50.03 I've always hated ties! 00:13:50.23\00:13:51.83 I finally... It's not new. No. All right. 00:13:52.03\00:13:54.83 But you did wear one for your daughter's wedding. 00:13:55.03\00:13:57.13 For the wedding? Yeah, OK: we wore one. 00:13:57.33\00:13:58.90 But you know what is it Ezekiel says? That God condemns 00:13:59.10\00:14:01.64 anything that makes a man sweat. 00:14:01.84\00:14:03.17 And a tie does? 00:14:03.34\00:14:05.47 But the responses, though, have been good? 00:14:06.41\00:14:07.84 It's doing exactly what we prayed it would do. 00:14:08.04\00:14:13.08 And I'm getting letters... I got a letter the other day 00:14:13.28\00:14:15.68 from... Oh, she's out East. 00:14:15.88\00:14:19.82 I won't say her name... I'll protect her. But it's like: 00:14:20.02\00:14:22.29 "All right. You said the following about Richard Dawkins 00:14:22.49\00:14:24.73 and Douglas Adams. I think you got it wrong. " 00:14:24.93\00:14:26.39 And I checked... I got one of the things wrong. 00:14:26.59\00:14:28.53 She was completely right. So I wrote her and I said: 00:14:28.73\00:14:30.30 "I was wrong. " And then she said: "But 00:14:30.50\00:14:32.97 OK, this is different than most Christian programming 00:14:33.17\00:14:35.87 I listen to. " She is... She thinks she is 00:14:36.07\00:14:38.27 an atheist. She's not. Wow! 00:14:38.47\00:14:40.74 She said: "This is different and I listen every week. 00:14:40.94\00:14:43.65 This is my go-to. " And she is starting to write a letter 00:14:43.85\00:14:47.62 every month. And that's starting to happen. 00:14:47.78\00:14:49.48 It's starting to trickle in from everywhere. 00:14:49.68\00:14:51.05 It's like: "Hey, this is different and you're talking 00:14:51.25\00:14:53.39 about what I worry about. " 00:14:53.59\00:14:54.92 Yeah. "And you speak our language. " 00:14:54.96\00:14:56.79 Yeah, unfortunately I do. That's kind of a double-edged sword. 00:14:56.99\00:14:59.89 I do speak their language. I'm an ex-heathen. 00:15:00.10\00:15:02.16 I'm a recovering heathen. 00:15:02.36\00:15:03.77 And I know what they're learning in college. 00:15:04.63\00:15:06.13 I know what they're reading. 00:15:06.33\00:15:07.67 I thought: "Let's talk about it. " And then I'll dare them 00:15:07.70\00:15:10.47 to read the Bible because I say: "You know there's more 00:15:10.67\00:15:12.07 in here than where you've been drinking. " 00:15:12.27\00:15:14.11 The show always ends: "Come on, man, just read it. 00:15:14.51\00:15:16.75 Quit reading books about it; just read it. " 00:15:16.95\00:15:18.61 Just read it. So again, some of the topics that you cover? 00:15:18.81\00:15:20.95 Oh my goodness! What have we done? 00:15:21.35\00:15:22.82 We do a lot of philosophy, a lot of history. 00:15:23.02\00:15:25.85 So recently we talked about Ayn Rand 00:15:26.05\00:15:28.26 and her influence on America and philosophy in politics 00:15:28.46\00:15:31.29 and why she died as miserable as she did 00:15:31.49\00:15:34.33 and what she had right and what she had wrong. 00:15:34.53\00:15:36.43 You can always tell people somebody did something right. 00:15:36.63\00:15:38.63 They're not wrong about everything. 00:15:38.83\00:15:40.17 Right? They're not wrong about everything! 00:15:40.20\00:15:41.97 That's true absolutely. Her big thing was 00:15:42.17\00:15:44.54 "I own me... you don't own me. " 00:15:45.57\00:15:47.21 OK, there's some truth to that. I believe God owns me. 00:15:47.41\00:15:49.31 But I also at the same time I don't believe I own you guys. 00:15:49.51\00:15:51.88 I don't get to run your life. 00:15:52.08\00:15:53.42 So she's right about that. What's she wrong about? 00:15:53.72\00:15:55.25 Just about everything else... but we unpack that. 00:15:55.45\00:15:57.39 And I was an Ayn Rand disciple as a young man. 00:15:58.65\00:16:01.69 I used to go to the club meetings and all that stuff. 00:16:01.89\00:16:03.96 Really? So I knew this stuff. 00:16:04.16\00:16:05.73 So we did that and people write in and say: "Man, 00:16:05.93\00:16:07.83 I knew something bothered me there. I knew there was 00:16:08.03\00:16:09.76 a dead end there somewhere. " I said: "Yeah, now 00:16:09.96\00:16:11.30 watch: here's where you're going to 00:16:11.40\00:16:12.80 find what I was talking about today. " 00:16:13.00\00:16:15.00 Right. Wow! Yeah. So that one and 00:16:15.20\00:16:17.07 we do Immanuel Kant and the early apologists. 00:16:17.27\00:16:20.24 We do a lot of history and then we do some current events. 00:16:20.44\00:16:22.51 I just did a show that's comin' out soon on 3ABN. 00:16:22.71\00:16:25.55 Thank you. On flat earth theory. 00:16:25.75\00:16:27.22 Why do people get all bonkers on the earth has gotta be flat? 00:16:27.42\00:16:30.32 'Cause I hear all kinds of can I say "wack-a-doodle. " 00:16:30.52\00:16:32.75 I hear all kinds of "wack-a-doodles" running around. 00:16:32.95\00:16:34.29 And so we talk about that. 00:16:34.39\00:16:35.72 Why do we do this as Christians? 00:16:35.76\00:16:37.16 And here's... I'm not really talking to the Christians. 00:16:37.73\00:16:39.66 Right. So why do we do this? The gospel's profound 00:16:39.86\00:16:41.70 enough that you don't have to come up with weird to sell it. 00:16:41.90\00:16:44.27 And then when I'm doing that I tell the story of the 00:16:45.10\00:16:49.70 demon-possessed girl following Paul: "Hey! 00:16:49.90\00:16:51.47 Servant Lord; servant Lord. " This is what you're dealing 00:16:51.67\00:16:53.31 when you do the weird stuff. Stop doing the weird stuff... 00:16:53.51\00:16:56.34 this is profound enough. Not really for the saints. 00:16:56.54\00:16:58.55 The audience goes: "Oh, they know they're a little weird. 00:16:58.75\00:17:01.28 What else is this guy going to admit? " Right! 00:17:01.68\00:17:03.35 Hmm. And they listen. 00:17:03.55\00:17:05.05 Amen. Well thank you for not being afraid. 00:17:05.25\00:17:07.52 Oh, I'm pretty afraid. 00:17:07.72\00:17:09.12 No... I mean you know because sometimes people 00:17:09.32\00:17:11.16 may want to steer clear of that. 00:17:11.36\00:17:12.69 Well you know, it's just kind of comfortable. Let's just kind of 00:17:12.73\00:17:14.06 hit the main topics of Christianity and that's it. 00:17:14.20\00:17:16.80 Yeah, thank you for that. That's great. 00:17:17.00\00:17:18.80 Yeah, we've received a good response here at 3ABN. 00:17:19.00\00:17:20.77 Absolutely. It's a great niche because 00:17:20.97\00:17:23.04 we need to reach the secular minds. We do. We need to reach 00:17:23.24\00:17:25.61 the atheists; we need to reach the intellectuals, 00:17:25.81\00:17:27.74 the philosophers. That's really important. 00:17:27.94\00:17:29.28 So... switching gears I'm going to Jean here. 00:17:29.38\00:17:31.78 Discovery Mountain is an incredible radio series. 00:17:32.55\00:17:38.32 I just want to say my nephews watch it 00:17:38.52\00:17:39.95 and we get to comparing notes. 00:17:40.16\00:17:42.32 They live in North Carolina and they love it. 00:17:42.52\00:17:44.09 They say: "This is just like Adventures in Odyssey. " 00:17:44.29\00:17:47.00 They love the program! So tell us: what was the 00:17:47.20\00:17:49.60 impetus behind the program? And tell us about 00:17:49.80\00:17:51.80 what the series is like. OK. 00:17:52.00\00:17:53.34 Well, Discovery Mountain is an audio adventure for families 00:17:53.40\00:17:56.87 is what we like to call it. 00:17:57.07\00:17:58.41 So it started about five-ish years ago in 2017. 00:17:58.44\00:18:02.71 So... I can't believe it sometimes that this new baby 00:18:02.91\00:18:06.05 is now over 5 years old. 00:18:06.25\00:18:07.85 But we enjoy it. It's a half-hour weekly program, 00:18:08.05\00:18:12.52 audio program, and it's on 3ABN Radio. 00:18:12.72\00:18:14.82 Can get it right here too. Oh yes. 00:18:15.02\00:18:16.36 So what was the impetus for it? 00:18:16.52\00:18:19.69 Well, when we joined the Voice of Prophecy 00:18:19.89\00:18:22.63 you know it started as a radio ministry all those years ago. 00:18:22.83\00:18:25.43 And my kids have grown up lis- tening to Adventures in Odyssey. 00:18:25.73\00:18:29.04 And there wasn't a lot of other material out there 00:18:29.24\00:18:33.41 similar to Odyssey, and I have to admit I even 00:18:33.61\00:18:36.18 had a few problems with a few of the things in Odyssey. 00:18:36.38\00:18:38.51 And I thought: "You know, we as a radio ministry 00:18:38.75\00:18:41.98 need to create an audio program for kids. " 00:18:42.18\00:18:44.09 And I thought: "We should create one 00:18:44.29\00:18:45.95 like the kind that I wished when my daughters were young. " 00:18:46.15\00:18:49.29 What would I have wanted my daughters to listen to. 00:18:49.49\00:18:51.19 So that's where it started, but really the core of it 00:18:51.39\00:18:54.13 was to fit into the whole plan of evangelism 00:18:54.33\00:18:57.40 we have at Voice of Prophecy - yes - 00:18:57.60\00:18:59.13 which Shawn shared already. 00:18:59.33\00:19:00.67 Everything we create is not just to be interesting 00:19:00.84\00:19:03.77 and entertaining... it's to fit into that plan. 00:19:03.97\00:19:07.48 So we very intentionally built Discovery Mountain 00:19:07.68\00:19:10.11 in that way. Yeah. Um-hmm. 00:19:10.31\00:19:12.55 I love that. And you have Blue Birdie, 00:19:12.75\00:19:14.92 Jake, and you know all these characters that you 00:19:15.12\00:19:17.95 need to learn and identify with 00:19:18.15\00:19:20.02 and learn character-building stories. 00:19:20.22\00:19:22.76 And the most important character? 00:19:22.96\00:19:24.29 And the VERY MOST IMPORTANT character? Chaplain Simon! 00:19:24.33\00:19:26.06 Sean voices his character. 00:19:26.26\00:19:27.96 Twenty seasons... I've been there four times. 00:19:28.36\00:19:31.33 He's overseas. He gets sent overseas all the time. 00:19:31.53\00:19:33.94 I know what's happening here. 00:19:34.14\00:19:35.47 I'm going to get written out. 00:19:35.50\00:19:36.84 Twenty season? Yes... seasons. 00:19:36.87\00:19:39.24 Incredible! Yes, five years/20 seasons. 00:19:39.44\00:19:41.51 So we have four six-part story lines every year 00:19:41.71\00:19:46.88 and we call those a season. 00:19:47.08\00:19:48.55 And then in between those full stories we have 00:19:48.75\00:19:50.89 new content every single week. 00:19:51.05\00:19:52.75 So every week there's something fresh. 00:19:52.95\00:19:54.99 And we can actually show your viewers what it looks like... 00:19:55.19\00:19:57.53 what Discovery Mountain looks like. 00:19:57.73\00:19:59.06 You know, it's an audio program. We felt it was important to 00:19:59.19\00:20:01.20 create a beautiful visual aspect of it, too. 00:20:01.40\00:20:05.23 Something we launched recently 00:20:05.43\00:20:08.27 was the Discovery Mountain Club as well. 00:20:08.47\00:20:11.41 And... What's that? Yeah... 00:20:11.61\00:20:13.04 So that is a membership portion of the program. 00:20:13.44\00:20:17.81 And the reason we did that was we wanted the main program 00:20:18.01\00:20:21.18 to be completely free for anyone 00:20:21.38\00:20:23.65 who would ever want to listen to it. 00:20:23.85\00:20:25.19 We wanted it to stay evangelistic 00:20:25.22\00:20:26.96 so there was never someone who couldn't listen because of... 00:20:27.16\00:20:29.12 because they had to pay for it. Yeah. 00:20:29.32\00:20:32.03 Sure. Oh, that's great! Yeah. So in order to continue to 00:20:32.23\00:20:35.03 keep that completely free and accessible to everyone 00:20:35.23\00:20:37.73 we created some member-based content. 00:20:37.93\00:20:40.44 And we're doing some fun stuff in there. 00:20:40.64\00:20:43.20 We have Jake as the main character. Yes. 00:20:43.41\00:20:45.67 And he's also our employee Ruben that Shawn referenced earlier. 00:20:45.87\00:20:49.08 He's the voice of Jake. 00:20:49.28\00:20:50.61 So you use your employees to help let's say design stuff 00:20:51.55\00:20:54.15 but also voice stuff. Oh absolutely! 00:20:54.35\00:20:56.28 Yeah... we work them way past labor laws. 00:20:56.48\00:20:59.72 If you work at VOP, you're going to get asked to do 00:20:59.92\00:21:02.36 a voice on Discovery Mountain. 00:21:02.56\00:21:04.03 And they can be one of the characters. Yeah absolutely! 00:21:04.23\00:21:06.70 Yeah. Can you tell us a little more then? Yes. 00:21:06.90\00:21:08.23 So within the club, there are like five programs right now. 00:21:08.40\00:21:11.40 Hopefully more in the future 00:21:11.60\00:21:12.93 that are unique to the club members. 00:21:13.00\00:21:14.94 So we have Jake has a podcast as Jake. 00:21:15.14\00:21:17.97 Then we have bedtime Bible stories... 00:21:18.17\00:21:20.24 just telling Bible stories that are very calm 00:21:20.44\00:21:22.41 with very soothing music. Ohh... 00:21:22.61\00:21:23.95 For parents, of course, of younger ones 00:21:23.98\00:21:26.01 to help soothe them to sleep and things like that. 00:21:26.21\00:21:29.38 Again it just fits the whole reason 00:21:29.78\00:21:33.49 for Discovery Mountain, keeping the main program evangelistic. 00:21:33.69\00:21:36.42 And then we created a VBS as well to kind of complete that... 00:21:36.83\00:21:40.66 Vacation Bible School! Yeah. Discover Mountain VBS. 00:21:40.86\00:21:42.90 To kind of finish that cycle you know, so then... 00:21:43.10\00:21:47.07 The idea is the person in the local church 00:21:47.27\00:21:49.90 listens to the program, becomes familiar with it. 00:21:50.11\00:21:52.14 They invite their friends and family to listen with them. 00:21:52.34\00:21:54.48 And then the local church would host an event. 00:21:54.68\00:21:57.35 Ideally Discovery Mountain VBS or any family-oriented event 00:21:57.55\00:22:00.65 and then they invite people to come to church with them. 00:22:00.85\00:22:02.98 Oh wow! And so... And it looks beautiful 00:22:03.18\00:22:05.99 if you want to show the photo of what the VBS looks like. 00:22:06.19\00:22:09.22 It's visually very beautiful. Oh yeah! 00:22:09.42\00:22:11.53 RESCUED. Yeah, so it's just... That's how... that's how this 00:22:11.73\00:22:15.93 kids ministry - this kids program - fits into everything 00:22:16.13\00:22:19.47 we're doing at VOP. 00:22:19.67\00:22:21.24 That's great. So we're going to be talking about 00:22:21.44\00:22:23.64 the website multiple times throughout the program. 00:22:23.84\00:22:25.64 We're already like 20 minutes in already. So what's the website 00:22:25.84\00:22:28.04 people can go to get like the VBS or sign up for the club? 00:22:28.24\00:22:30.88 Umm... discoverymountain.com 00:22:31.08\00:22:33.82 And then for anything else VOP related it would be: 00:22:34.02\00:22:37.05 If you go to VOP.com can you find Discovery Mountain 00:22:38.52\00:22:41.36 there? Oh yeah, you can find everything we do there. 00:22:41.56\00:22:43.19 Resources. Yeah, um-hmm. Do you have some video on demand 00:22:43.39\00:22:45.86 there or not at? Oh yeah. No... Authentic is there. 00:22:46.06\00:22:48.66 I don't know if we have the older stuff there, 00:22:48.86\00:22:50.33 but we put that up there every week. 00:22:50.53\00:22:52.07 And yep... there's plenty to watch, there's plenty to study. 00:22:52.27\00:22:55.07 There are free Bible courses there for anybody. Just click 00:22:55.27\00:22:57.31 on the study tab. What's the website again? 00:22:57.51\00:23:00.08 The website? I just kicked the table. 00:23:00.28\00:23:01.88 Did everybody hear that? 00:23:02.08\00:23:03.88 And the crew warned me not to do this. 00:23:04.28\00:23:06.28 You're good. 00:23:06.48\00:23:07.82 What's the website again? 00:23:07.98\00:23:09.32 VOP.com or voiceofprophecy.com 00:23:09.45\00:23:12.12 OK... both work. Both work. Yeah, both work. 00:23:12.32\00:23:14.26 That's great. So I want to ask you about this 00:23:14.46\00:23:15.82 Discovery Mountain. We're talking about our nephews 00:23:16.02\00:23:17.53 and stuff. Yep. So let's say you've got someone that says: 00:23:17.73\00:23:20.30 "You know, I'm 100 yrs. old. " 00:23:20.50\00:23:22.36 We've got someone that's like over 100. 00:23:22.56\00:23:24.00 Can they sign up? Or it's just for kids like... 00:23:24.20\00:23:25.93 Oh no! It's for anyone. 00:23:26.13\00:23:27.47 Are you serious? Even me at 46? 00:23:27.50\00:23:28.84 Absolutely. OK.. I can sign up. 00:23:29.00\00:23:31.47 That's awesome; that's good. 00:23:31.67\00:23:33.17 You know, what I love when I get to get out and meet people 00:23:33.38\00:23:36.44 is people who tell me they listen to Discovery Mountain 00:23:36.64\00:23:38.38 from all age groups because the stories are timeless. 00:23:38.58\00:23:40.98 Jesus told stories and they can be appealing to all of us. Yeah. 00:23:41.18\00:23:44.89 Tell us about some of the response. 00:23:45.39\00:23:46.72 I know we talked about response with Authentic 00:23:46.92\00:23:48.76 but tell us about response from Discovery Mountain 00:23:48.96\00:23:50.89 from kids or adults or how are they impacted 00:23:51.09\00:23:54.06 by the series? I have the BEST mail 00:23:54.26\00:23:56.50 because we get cards and colored pictures 00:23:56.70\00:23:59.47 from kids and families listening but also teachers. 00:23:59.67\00:24:02.74 Teachers really enjoy using the programs in their classrooms. 00:24:02.94\00:24:06.47 My favorite story, which I would love to tell you in detail 00:24:06.68\00:24:09.24 but I'll just mention to you, is a man named Easy. 00:24:09.44\00:24:13.25 Oh! And he's 35. He's visually impaired. 00:24:13.45\00:24:15.58 He was born blind and he connected with us 00:24:15.78\00:24:18.02 when another podcast that high- lights different audio programs 00:24:18.22\00:24:21.72 interviewed us and Easy heard about Discovery Mountain. 00:24:21.92\00:24:24.59 And he fell in love with it 00:24:24.99\00:24:27.56 and started connecting with us online. 00:24:27.76\00:24:29.50 And then he asked if he could audition to be a voice 00:24:29.70\00:24:32.60 in the program. We said: "Of course! 00:24:32.80\00:24:34.20 Of course you can. " Oh! And so he came out. 00:24:34.40\00:24:36.30 He did a voice; he did great. 00:24:36.50\00:24:37.84 And I actually wrote a whole character for him. 00:24:37.91\00:24:39.84 So now we have Chris in Discover Mountain 00:24:40.04\00:24:42.04 who's visually impaired in the program 00:24:42.24\00:24:43.71 and Easy voices him for us. 00:24:44.11\00:24:45.98 Isn't that special! 00:24:46.18\00:24:48.55 That really is. We all just love Easy 00:24:48.75\00:24:50.85 and it's neat to actually connect with someone 00:24:51.05\00:24:53.56 who has been impacted by the ministry. 00:24:53.76\00:24:56.12 Praise the Lord! So who writes the scripts? 00:24:56.32\00:24:57.86 I... I've done 90% of them. 00:24:58.26\00:25:01.56 You know how hard your wife works 00:25:02.43\00:25:05.33 'cause that's a lot of work! A lot of work to put that 00:25:05.53\00:25:07.64 together. And a great job... a great job! 00:25:07.84\00:25:09.67 'Cause we've heard a lot of stories in our household too. 00:25:09.87\00:25:11.94 You know, Discovery Mountain. Yeah... great job! 00:25:12.14\00:25:14.08 Yeah. Great lessons' great evangelism. 00:25:14.28\00:25:15.74 Because of the creativity but yet great evangelism. 00:25:16.01\00:25:18.18 I love what you said. I just want to remind you 00:25:18.38\00:25:19.95 one more time. The website is VOP.com 00:25:20.15\00:25:23.95 We'll put that up for you. 00:25:24.15\00:25:26.05 There you can find all about 00:25:26.25\00:25:27.69 the ministry of Voice of Prophecy. 00:25:27.89\00:25:29.22 You can check out Discovery Mountain. 00:25:29.39\00:25:31.33 You can sign up. You can watch the Authentic video series. 00:25:31.53\00:25:35.00 You can donate and support the work and ministry 00:25:35.20\00:25:38.43 that they are involved in right now. 00:25:38.63\00:25:40.00 We're switching back to Pastor Shawn. And let's 00:25:40.20\00:25:42.07 talk about Discover Seminars. Tell us what that's all about. 00:25:42.27\00:25:46.47 What are you doing with that? Yeah, I started in ministry 00:25:46.68\00:25:50.28 holding six-week evangelistic campaigns. 00:25:50.48\00:25:53.08 It's hard to believe next year I think is my... 00:25:53.28\00:25:55.15 I'll have completed 30 years on the sawdust trail. 00:25:55.65\00:25:58.75 Wow! In ministry! 00:25:58.95\00:26:00.49 That is incredible. You can see bags under my eyes. 00:26:00.69\00:26:03.22 No, you all look good. 00:26:03.43\00:26:04.76 Well it's a lot of preservatives. 00:26:04.83\00:26:07.13 A little varnish every morning. Vegetables... like vegetables. 00:26:08.56\00:26:10.63 Vegetables! They shellac my face in the mornings. 00:26:10.83\00:26:14.54 No. So we've got like the world's oldest and biggest 00:26:16.17\00:26:19.84 Bible school. That's our primary outreach. 00:26:20.04\00:26:22.04 Then over here we've got... I do 6- week evangelistic campaigns. 00:26:22.24\00:26:25.01 But what's in between? What could a church 00:26:25.21\00:26:26.85 invite a community to that isn't a huge commitment? 00:26:27.05\00:26:30.69 Doesn't scare anybody... church members or guests. 00:26:30.89\00:26:33.36 And Discover Seminar is like 4 or 5 meetings maximum. 00:26:33.56\00:26:37.49 We create video that they can be proud to show their friends. 00:26:37.69\00:26:40.90 They're not going to... You know, sometimes we're scared. 00:26:41.06\00:26:42.86 Let's bring friends to church. What are they going to see? 00:26:43.06\00:26:44.70 Right. Yeah. We put a lot of effort into it 00:26:44.90\00:26:48.77 so it can compete with anything on Netflix or History Channel 00:26:48.97\00:26:51.27 or all that kind of stuff. Umm. 00:26:51.47\00:26:52.81 But half an hour of documentary. 00:26:52.84\00:26:54.18 But that's not the point. The point is next 00:26:54.31\00:26:55.84 that the local church leaders lead a Bible study for 45 min. 00:26:56.04\00:26:59.28 to explore what they just heard. Nice! 00:26:59.48\00:27:01.62 Then after 4 or 5 meetings 00:27:01.82\00:27:03.15 Jean and I will come on camera and say: "Hey, 00:27:03.18\00:27:04.65 if you like what you studied now it's the tip of the iceberg. 00:27:04.85\00:27:07.46 Wait till you see what else these people study. 00:27:07.66\00:27:09.62 We're starting Wednesday night. " 00:27:09.82\00:27:11.19 And so it opens a Bible study in the church. 00:27:11.39\00:27:12.73 So we've done about... We're working on #5? 00:27:13.09\00:27:15.66 Um-hmm. Right now: Number 5. Yeah, it comes out 00:27:15.86\00:27:19.27 in April of 2022... Spring of 2022. Wow! 00:27:19.47\00:27:21.84 Yeah. Exciting? So what are some of the 00:27:22.04\00:27:24.01 documentaries? What are some of them about? 00:27:24.21\00:27:25.67 And I think we have a couple trailers for some of them. 00:27:25.87\00:27:27.58 I brought all of them but we can't do that! 00:27:27.74\00:27:29.98 But the first one we did was called Shadow Empire. 00:27:30.85\00:27:35.12 And we did the life of Constantine the Great. 00:27:35.32\00:27:37.95 Where he came from. Born to a virgin incidentally. 00:27:38.15\00:27:41.56 He parallels the life of Jesus right up to a point. 00:27:41.76\00:27:44.03 It's uncanny how that works. 00:27:44.23\00:27:45.79 But then when... What we focus on 00:27:46.19\00:27:48.56 is like the story where Israel asks for a king. 00:27:48.76\00:27:51.53 God says: "This isn't what I want for you 00:27:51.73\00:27:53.07 but I'll let you do it. " 00:27:53.10\00:27:54.44 And then Israel gets into trouble: they asked for a king. 00:27:54.67\00:27:56.81 Well, Christianity did exactly the same thing. 00:27:57.01\00:27:59.17 "We want a king" 'cause they couldn't handle 00:27:59.37\00:28:01.64 the disputes in No. Africa and the Arian dispute. 00:28:01.84\00:28:04.18 And so: "Hey, maybe you know, this emperor's friendly 00:28:04.58\00:28:07.85 so let's invite him in. " 00:28:08.05\00:28:09.38 We invited him in and it never was the same again. 00:28:09.42\00:28:11.05 What we did in this series was just say: "Hey, 00:28:11.45\00:28:13.42 have you ever had a funny feeling something's wrong with 00:28:13.62\00:28:15.52 Western Christianity? " 00:28:15.72\00:28:17.06 And the whole world said: "Yeah! We know there's something 00:28:17.13\00:28:18.86 wrong with it. " So instead of arguing we confirm it. 00:28:19.06\00:28:21.06 "You're absolutely right. Something went off the rails. 00:28:21.26\00:28:23.00 The Bible predicted it would happen 00:28:23.20\00:28:24.57 and want to know what else it says? " 00:28:24.77\00:28:27.44 Wow! And so you agree with people. 00:28:28.30\00:28:30.04 You agree with people wherever you can consistently do it. 00:28:30.24\00:28:32.14 "You're right... something DID go wrong. " 00:28:32.34\00:28:33.98 Yeah. So that was the first one: Shadow Empire. 00:28:34.18\00:28:36.08 We've done a bunch since. Celtic Christianity. 00:28:36.28\00:28:38.08 What would happen? A Pale Horse Rides. 00:28:38.28\00:28:40.32 What would happen if Christianity grew up 00:28:40.52\00:28:42.58 in a bubble outside of what Constantine did 00:28:42.78\00:28:44.65 out on an island somewhere? What would that look like? 00:28:44.85\00:28:46.35 What if all they had was a Bible? 00:28:46.55\00:28:48.02 What would they look like? And we found out the Celts 00:28:48.22\00:28:50.46 were Sabbath keepers and they even had rules for 00:28:50.66\00:28:52.63 identifying the Spirit of Prophecy. 00:28:52.83\00:28:54.83 We went on location. Found their old homes 00:28:55.03\00:28:57.80 and scriptoriums out on the islands. 00:28:58.00\00:28:59.83 Wow! And so we've done 00:29:00.04\00:29:03.37 then one on the second coming, and the most recent one we did 00:29:03.57\00:29:05.41 American in Bible Prophecy. 00:29:05.61\00:29:06.94 We ran that for two years because with the pandemic 00:29:07.34\00:29:09.34 and the election that followed all the churches were packed. 00:29:09.54\00:29:12.51 The response has been... 00:29:12.71\00:29:15.38 Let's... Let's do Final Empire. I think that's #4. Final Empire. 00:29:15.58\00:29:19.49 This is the one on America in prophecy. 00:29:19.69\00:29:21.26 Get the look and feel of what these look like. 00:29:21.46\00:29:22.79 OK... let's go to that right now. 00:29:22.82\00:29:24.16 The United States is the greatest nation that has ever 00:29:34.60\00:29:37.47 existed in the history of the world, 00:29:37.67\00:29:39.17 but the rise of the Republic was no accident. 00:29:39.84\00:29:42.38 It was formed out of hundreds of specific events 00:29:43.45\00:29:45.95 that started over 3,000 years 00:29:46.35\00:29:48.92 before the creation of our Constitution. 00:29:49.12\00:29:51.25 With such calculated history 00:29:52.85\00:29:54.52 could the birth of this nation 00:29:54.72\00:29:56.06 be just coincidence? 00:29:56.22\00:29:57.59 Or did the hand of God 00:29:57.79\00:29:59.83 direct the formation of the new world? 00:30:00.03\00:30:01.96 Explore the annals of history and discover the tapestry 00:30:04.63\00:30:07.80 of events woven together to construct a brand new empire. 00:30:08.00\00:30:11.87 Uncover the true reason Columbus set sail 00:30:13.31\00:30:17.01 into uncharted waters. 00:30:17.21\00:30:18.65 How the fall of Constantinople set the stage 00:30:19.25\00:30:22.22 for the creation of our nation hundreds of years 00:30:22.42\00:30:24.92 before its inception. 00:30:25.12\00:30:26.65 See the Bible's warnings for our nation today. 00:30:28.06\00:30:31.33 As we follow the events that shaped America 00:30:31.89\00:30:34.63 you will see the evidence that we are a country 00:30:34.83\00:30:36.90 founded on the principles of religious liberty 00:30:37.10\00:30:39.30 and hear what we need to do to maintain our freedom today. 00:30:39.60\00:30:44.01 That's incredible! The cinematography 00:30:55.42\00:30:58.25 and the trailer. That's amazing! 00:30:58.45\00:31:00.12 So if churches or individuals or homes want to connect 00:31:00.32\00:31:04.39 and say: "I want a study group;" "I want to do this" - right - 00:31:04.59\00:31:06.90 how do they do that? You have to do it that way. 00:31:07.10\00:31:08.96 These are designed so that people have to meet people. 00:31:09.16\00:31:11.73 There's no other way to do this event. 00:31:12.30\00:31:13.77 You're going to have to invite people to your home 00:31:13.97\00:31:15.34 or your church. VOP.com 00:31:15.54\00:31:16.87 and you can find those or DiscoveryCenters.com 00:31:17.07\00:31:19.81 That's where our resources for churches that we're 00:31:20.01\00:31:22.54 partnering with like the 1,000 find this stuff. 00:31:22.74\00:31:25.98 But it is an option for people to run in their home 00:31:26.18\00:31:28.45 with a small group. So the church event is one option 00:31:28.65\00:31:32.35 and the small group in your home is a great option too. 00:31:32.55\00:31:34.52 And do you pay for that? Do the churches pay 00:31:34.92\00:31:36.76 to connect with this and they reach out? 00:31:36.96\00:31:38.96 Minimally. Perfect. Like mini- mally. We make it affordable. 00:31:39.16\00:31:42.43 We do raise our own funds so I can't give it away 00:31:42.63\00:31:45.27 for free or I would. I would totally give it away. 00:31:45.47\00:31:47.57 No, but it costs money to do this. It does! 00:31:47.77\00:31:49.57 To do it quality. And we want it to look like something 00:31:49.77\00:31:52.81 you'd be proud to bring your friends to. 00:31:53.01\00:31:54.68 You don't have to be scared of how goofy it's gonna be. 00:31:54.88\00:31:57.28 Correct. I mean I'm goofy, but the show 00:31:57.48\00:31:59.21 is not too goofy. Now we're gearing up for 00:31:59.41\00:32:02.38 probably my favorite of all time The Serpentine Prophecy 00:32:02.58\00:32:05.92 which releases in 2022. Umm! 00:32:06.12\00:32:08.09 Tell us about that. So what's that about? 00:32:08.29\00:32:09.62 Well, every time we go through a crisis 00:32:09.72\00:32:11.06 whether it is I, II World War, 00:32:11.19\00:32:13.36 the influenza epidemic, 00:32:13.56\00:32:16.13 the Great Depression, Fukushima in Japan 00:32:16.33\00:32:19.07 interest in spiritualism goes through the roof. 00:32:19.27\00:32:21.37 One in six Americans think the dead talk to them. 00:32:21.57\00:32:23.54 One in six... and they've heard the dead talk to them. 00:32:23.74\00:32:25.74 Seriously? One in six. 00:32:25.94\00:32:27.28 So it's gone through the roof and we know the time is right. 00:32:27.31\00:32:29.88 But we're going to tell a story that few people have ever heard. 00:32:30.08\00:32:32.95 Sometimes we see series on spiritualism and we start 00:32:33.15\00:32:35.32 with the Fox sisters. Great story, but everybody starts 00:32:35.52\00:32:37.55 with the Fox sisters. I've gone digging through primary sources 00:32:37.75\00:32:40.62 all the way back to ancient Egypt and before that 00:32:40.82\00:32:42.89 and figured out where Plato got his ideas. 00:32:43.09\00:32:46.49 And we're going to tell the story from the very beginning 00:32:46.70\00:32:49.63 and show a thread that runs through every world religion 00:32:49.83\00:32:52.17 outside of the Abrahamic religions... every single one. 00:32:52.37\00:32:54.97 And then we're going to end the series 00:32:55.17\00:32:57.11 I spend the night in the most haunted bedroom 00:32:57.31\00:33:00.61 in America, and we have an over-night Bible study 00:33:00.81\00:33:04.31 on "Can the dead speak to me? " in that room. 00:33:04.51\00:33:06.45 Oh wow! And I won't tell you whether or not 00:33:06.65\00:33:08.78 something happened. People will have watch the series. 00:33:08.98\00:33:11.25 I brought the trailer for this. 00:33:11.65\00:33:13.29 I brought the trailer for this. Number 5: The Serpentine 00:33:13.49\00:33:16.02 Prophecy this is called. This one I'm so excited... 00:33:16.22\00:33:18.56 I'm pumped up! All right. Let's go to that roll right now. 00:33:18.76\00:33:21.36 A disturbing thread tying the present to the past. 00:33:32.64\00:33:36.78 Thing that move behind the shadows. 00:33:50.36\00:33:52.89 Are there dark influences 00:33:59.73\00:34:01.70 that have been quietly driving us 00:34:08.08\00:34:10.25 from the dawn of civilization? 00:34:10.45\00:34:12.38 The story you weren't supposed to hear. 00:34:23.89\00:34:26.49 That is incredible. Wow! It is SO needed - oh yes! 00:34:39.31\00:34:44.05 especially in these last days of earth's history. Um-hmm. 00:34:44.25\00:34:45.75 There is so much spiritualism that is rampant. 00:34:45.95\00:34:47.78 There is so much confusion about what's happening 00:34:47.98\00:34:50.39 so praise the Lord that you all are willing to tackle 00:34:50.59\00:34:52.59 these topics and bring that to people so that 00:34:52.79\00:34:55.56 churches and groups can share it with people. 00:34:55.76\00:34:59.13 Praise the Lord! That's in- credible! This one is really... 00:34:59.33\00:35:01.03 I'm really pumped about this one. This one... We're going to 00:35:01.23\00:35:04.17 just tell a story, and churches can be comfortable. 00:35:04.37\00:35:06.20 We are just going to bring people to the point where they 00:35:06.40\00:35:07.90 start to question themselves. And all of these are designed 00:35:08.10\00:35:10.34 that way. Not to tell anybody they're wrong... 00:35:10.54\00:35:12.27 just to raise just enough that people start saying 00:35:12.47\00:35:15.71 "Wait a minute... what if I'm wrong? " 00:35:15.91\00:35:17.25 And that's the best place for people to be. 00:35:17.28\00:35:18.88 You can't badger people into the kingdom of God. 00:35:19.08\00:35:21.08 You can't argue them in. 00:35:21.28\00:35:22.72 But if they start to question their own assumptions 00:35:23.12\00:35:25.12 then you can have a Bible study. 00:35:25.32\00:35:26.76 Umm! And that's what these are designed to start. 00:35:26.96\00:35:29.32 So have you received response then on some of these 00:35:29.52\00:35:31.96 documentaries? It's been going remarkably well. 00:35:32.16\00:35:34.80 Shadow Empire... I just heard from the Bixby's up in... 00:35:35.13\00:35:39.63 I met them this past summer. 00:35:39.83\00:35:41.37 They... He had been in Christian Science for a little bit 00:35:41.57\00:35:45.17 and he was a science major and so on. 00:35:45.37\00:35:47.11 He said: "Shadow Empire, man, that got me. 00:35:47.31\00:35:49.74 It started the Bible study. We started studying 00:35:49.94\00:35:51.55 and six months later... " He actually... 00:35:51.75\00:35:53.42 Hey guys: the shoes you gave me I'm wearing them right now. 00:35:53.62\00:35:56.18 If you're watching, the shoes you gave me 00:35:56.38\00:35:58.95 I've got 'em on right now. 00:35:59.15\00:36:00.49 I love these shoes. 00:36:00.69\00:36:02.02 But yeah, and for Final Empire on American prophecy 00:36:02.06\00:36:05.09 I heard from a West Point graduate recently 00:36:05.29\00:36:07.03 saying: "This is astonishing. " West Point? Yeah. 00:36:07.23\00:36:09.33 Wow! See, we raise stories. In every one of these 00:36:09.53\00:36:12.83 I guarantee there's going to be something 00:36:13.03\00:36:14.80 that you've never heard. Right. 00:36:15.00\00:36:16.34 I can almost guarantee it. 00:36:16.40\00:36:17.74 I spend years writing them to make sure of that. 00:36:17.91\00:36:20.51 And there are components like why did Columbus really 00:36:20.91\00:36:23.41 cross the sea? Had nothing to do with the earth being flat. 00:36:23.61\00:36:26.75 Nobody's ever believed the earth was flat. 00:36:26.95\00:36:28.45 We've known the circumference of the earth since 00:36:28.65\00:36:30.89 Eratosthenes, 400-500 BC. We've known. 00:36:31.09\00:36:34.72 No, no, no... he writes in his journal 00:36:34.92\00:36:37.03 I read Columbus' journals: "The Lord is sending me over 00:36:37.23\00:36:40.13 this way to hasten the second coming. " 00:36:40.33\00:36:43.03 He thought to go get armies in Asia to help kick the Muslims 00:36:43.23\00:36:46.57 out of Jerusalem so Jesus could come. 00:36:46.77\00:36:48.34 But he kept writing in his journal: "I'm being sent; 00:36:48.54\00:36:50.54 I'm being sent; I can't resist this. 00:36:50.74\00:36:52.67 Somehow this is going to hasten the second coming. " 00:36:52.87\00:36:54.94 What does he do? Open up the earth where the woman can flee. 00:36:55.14\00:36:58.98 Wow! That is amazing! Yeah... so that's in there. 00:36:59.18\00:37:01.28 I mean we just find stuff that... This stuff used to be 00:37:01.48\00:37:04.25 taught. In the 19th century - yes - Christians knew this stuff 00:37:04.45\00:37:07.46 and we've forgotten it. 00:37:07.66\00:37:08.99 So I want to go back to something you just said. 00:37:09.16\00:37:10.76 I know you want to talk about the Bible study aspect too 00:37:10.96\00:37:12.79 of Voice of Prophecy, but you said you spend years. 00:37:12.99\00:37:15.46 I caught that... years. Wow! Years researching and writing 00:37:15.66\00:37:18.90 this. Yeah. Some of them are the product 00:37:19.10\00:37:20.80 So this is your passion. I mean you're passionate about this. 00:37:21.00\00:37:22.70 You're passionate about accuracy, too. Um-hmm. 00:37:22.90\00:37:24.91 I can testify to the books on his bookcases 00:37:25.11\00:37:29.28 in his home office and his VOP office. 00:37:29.48\00:37:31.81 I mean there's a lot... a lot of research that goes into 00:37:32.01\00:37:35.55 what is created. 00:37:35.75\00:37:37.35 I hated history right up until I became a Christian. 00:37:37.55\00:37:40.12 Really? What's the point? You know? 00:37:40.32\00:37:41.86 When did you become a Christian? How old were you 00:37:42.06\00:37:43.39 when you became a Christian? Twenty? You were 20... I was 21. 00:37:43.43\00:37:46.26 You were like 22. 00:37:46.46\00:37:47.80 Way back when before the world was in color. 00:37:47.86\00:37:50.60 All right. I think I was back there with you. 00:37:51.30\00:37:52.70 So you said then you hated history? 00:37:52.90\00:37:55.30 Well yeah... what's the point of history class? 00:37:55.50\00:37:57.14 I had to take Canadian history and sorry fellow Canadians 00:37:57.34\00:38:00.64 it's the most boring history on earth. 00:38:00.84\00:38:02.18 You're too polite... nothing ever happens. 00:38:02.24\00:38:03.81 Be nice. We love you our viewers and listeners in Canada. 00:38:04.01\00:38:07.95 Oh, I'm allowed to say that. I'm allowed to say that. 00:38:08.15\00:38:10.99 I... Why are you passionate about this? 00:38:11.79\00:38:13.92 Because suddenly it doesn't mat ter who wrote the history book. 00:38:14.12\00:38:16.39 Once you see God's prophetic plan 00:38:16.59\00:38:18.99 it doesn't matter who the characters are. 00:38:19.19\00:38:21.13 God, without violating their free will is nudging them 00:38:21.33\00:38:23.63 in the right direction. I don't care if it's a Roman 00:38:23.83\00:38:25.77 senator... I don't care who it is. 00:38:25.97\00:38:27.30 And suddenly I found out this three angels' message 00:38:27.34\00:38:29.80 that we teach and believe 00:38:30.01\00:38:31.34 you can't hit the bottom of it. 00:38:31.37\00:38:32.71 Every book I've read, every primary source... 00:38:32.81\00:38:35.64 It doesn't matter if it's a thousand years before Christ 00:38:35.84\00:38:37.81 and he's living in Egypt somehow they're all agreeing 00:38:38.01\00:38:40.28 with this and showing that God has been nudging this 00:38:40.48\00:38:42.48 in the right direction all along. 00:38:42.68\00:38:44.02 Yeah. So I'm addicted now. 00:38:44.05\00:38:45.85 What am I in there? I sleep four hours a night. 00:38:46.05\00:38:48.82 I just can't stop reading this stuff. 00:38:49.02\00:38:50.39 So he's probably lost count of his books! 00:38:50.59\00:38:52.39 Wow! That's incredible. That's a bit of a problem. 00:38:53.53\00:38:55.16 I don't know if there's a book support group 00:38:55.36\00:38:57.00 but I probably could use one. 00:38:57.20\00:38:58.70 But you know what? God's taken that passion 00:38:59.10\00:39:00.70 and that drive and that energy 00:39:00.90\00:39:02.87 and God's using it to reach people that would otherwise 00:39:03.07\00:39:05.87 never be reached with the gospel so thank you. 00:39:06.07\00:39:08.01 That's really powerful. 00:39:08.21\00:39:09.68 I want to skip around here just a moment. OK. 00:39:09.88\00:39:11.45 We're going out of order a little bit. That's OK. 00:39:11.65\00:39:13.68 But Jean, I want to talk... I know Voice of Prophecy is 00:39:13.88\00:39:15.22 an evangelistic ministry clearly 00:39:15.25\00:39:16.72 but talk to us about Rescue Home for Little Girls. 00:39:16.92\00:39:20.02 That's incredible... and your humanitarian outreach. Wow! 00:39:20.22\00:39:22.72 Tell us about that. Yeah, the humanitarian element 00:39:22.92\00:39:25.99 of ministry: I mean that's how Jesus taught us 00:39:26.19\00:39:29.16 to care for others and to preach. 00:39:29.36\00:39:31.77 And we take that very seriously at VOP 00:39:31.97\00:39:33.80 and a project that's very close to my heart 00:39:34.00\00:39:36.91 is called Azadi Home. And Azadi means freedom. 00:39:37.11\00:39:40.58 And it's a rescue home in Bangalore, India, 00:39:40.78\00:39:43.48 where women and girls really 00:39:43.68\00:39:46.75 who have been rescued from sex trafficking - 00:39:46.95\00:39:49.45 oh wow - have a chance to live and rehabilitate. 00:39:49.65\00:39:51.85 So this became a project of Voice of Prophecy 00:39:52.05\00:39:55.46 when in I think it was 2015 00:39:55.66\00:39:58.39 I was in India with our daugh- ters meeting our sponsor child. 00:39:58.59\00:40:01.16 Our sponsor daughter/sister. 00:40:01.36\00:40:03.13 And we met a woman named Anita right there in Bangalore. 00:40:03.33\00:40:06.80 And this is her ministry, this is her passion... 00:40:07.00\00:40:09.74 Anita and her team. 00:40:09.94\00:40:11.27 They go out and they literally break down doors 00:40:11.57\00:40:14.94 and pull these young women out of these situations. 00:40:15.14\00:40:18.61 Sometimes... And they have to be very cunning 00:40:18.81\00:40:21.28 and get there right on time because the people who 00:40:21.48\00:40:23.55 are using these women will hide them. 00:40:23.75\00:40:25.65 So they have to... they have to break into floors 00:40:26.05\00:40:29.49 to look in places where these women might be hid 00:40:29.69\00:40:31.89 and they pull them out. Oh wow! 00:40:32.09\00:40:33.96 And when Anita first had this passion and this ministry 00:40:34.16\00:40:36.80 with a team of big guys who help her... 00:40:37.00\00:40:39.03 She's my age and she's my size 00:40:39.23\00:40:40.57 so she obviously has some big guys helping her. 00:40:40.74\00:40:42.67 What's the age group of the women that are being rescued? 00:40:43.61\00:40:45.81 So primarily they're young. 00:40:46.01\00:40:49.04 Teenagers? Teenagers through mid-20's. 00:40:49.24\00:40:52.08 But there are some that are as young as 8 years old. 00:40:52.28\00:40:54.35 Oh! And there are some who are a little bit older 00:40:54.55\00:40:56.32 which is heartbreaking. Yes. Yeah. 00:40:56.52\00:40:58.25 And when she first started rescuing these women 00:40:59.02\00:41:01.42 the only option was to take them to a government rehabilitation. 00:41:01.62\00:41:04.33 Government center. It wasn't even a rehabilitation home. 00:41:04.53\00:41:07.66 Sometimes it was a jail. 00:41:07.86\00:41:09.20 But at least they were out of immediate harm. 00:41:09.90\00:41:12.40 Sometimes the men and women are involved in trapping them 00:41:12.60\00:41:17.67 into trafficking as well sadly. 00:41:17.87\00:41:19.54 They would show up at these government institutions 00:41:20.34\00:41:22.84 and try and tell a fancy story like: "Oh that's my sister. 00:41:23.04\00:41:25.65 I'm her uncle. " And they would get them back out. 00:41:25.85\00:41:28.48 So the rescue home Azadi Home 00:41:29.78\00:41:31.85 is truly a safe rehabilitation opportunity 00:41:32.05\00:41:35.76 for these women. They are told about Jesus. 00:41:35.96\00:41:38.79 They are taught a trade and a skill. 00:41:38.99\00:41:41.06 They find them jobs in the community where they can begin 00:41:41.46\00:41:44.13 to use those trades and skills. 00:41:44.33\00:41:45.93 And what I love most recently about Azadi... 00:41:46.13\00:41:49.40 It holds about 20 women at a time, and they kind of 00:41:49.60\00:41:52.74 cycle through... It's also now a place 00:41:52.94\00:41:56.08 where women who become pregnant and want to keep 00:41:56.28\00:41:59.68 their babies with them can keep their babies with them. 00:41:59.88\00:42:02.85 There are 5 children at Azadi now. 00:42:03.05\00:42:05.32 Five little ones! And they are trained. 00:42:05.52\00:42:07.66 They bring a preschool teacher right into the home. OK. 00:42:07.86\00:42:11.13 The kids never have to leave; it's very safe. Good. 00:42:11.33\00:42:14.00 And they are able then to have a completely new lease on life. 00:42:14.20\00:42:17.83 And as you would expect the mothers 00:42:18.03\00:42:20.14 are happy to be rescued themselves. 00:42:20.34\00:42:23.00 They are beyond happy - yes - to see the potential 00:42:23.20\00:42:26.64 for their children to have a normal and healthy life. 00:42:26.84\00:42:30.25 How many women can you take in Azadi Home? 00:42:30.55\00:42:32.91 Is there like a limit as far as? Yeah. 00:42:33.11\00:42:35.22 They have a limit. It's about 20 women at one time. 00:42:35.42\00:42:37.82 And so the idea is to help them through. 00:42:38.02\00:42:40.09 How long do they stay before they have job opportunities 00:42:40.29\00:42:42.66 and training and all that? How long would they stay? 00:42:42.86\00:42:44.96 It varies depending on what the needs are. 00:42:45.16\00:42:47.73 But recently a young woman who'd been there about 2 years 00:42:47.93\00:42:50.87 they were able to graduate her and launch her out into the 00:42:51.07\00:42:53.94 world and she was able to go back to her home village. 00:42:54.14\00:42:56.27 Oh wow! And so that was powerful to see. 00:42:56.47\00:42:59.01 I mean our entire ministry was in tears 00:42:59.21\00:43:01.28 hearing that story and reading that story. 00:43:01.48\00:43:03.31 So are there ways then that people can support? 00:43:04.01\00:43:05.98 'Cause all this costs money. We're taking evangelism. 00:43:06.31\00:43:07.82 Absolutely; absolutely. This all costs. 00:43:08.02\00:43:09.72 So is there a way then that people can donate at VOP.com? 00:43:09.92\00:43:12.95 Definitely. We have infor- mation about Azadi Home there. 00:43:13.15\00:43:16.22 So go to VOP.com? Yes. And there's a give button. 00:43:16.42\00:43:18.53 There's a give button and we need your help! 00:43:18.73\00:43:20.63 OK, so you'll see a give button at the top. Yep. 00:43:20.83\00:43:22.80 And then just click on that and there'll be an option. 00:43:23.00\00:43:24.63 You'll find the details there and you can find the home 00:43:24.83\00:43:26.57 and that kind of stuff. 00:43:26.77\00:43:28.10 If that's where you'd like it to go we can make that happen. 00:43:28.14\00:43:31.21 Yeah, and as you would expect there are no photos, no videos. 00:43:31.41\00:43:33.51 We want to keep the girls safe and protect their privacy. 00:43:33.81\00:43:37.08 I love that, yeah, because 00:43:37.28\00:43:38.95 these are the marginalized. These are those in society that 00:43:39.15\00:43:41.58 Jesus loves exceedingly and yet no one else is looking after 00:43:41.78\00:43:45.25 them. So praise the Lord God put that in your heart 00:43:45.45\00:43:47.59 to do that. I love that! Well I can't believe our time 00:43:47.79\00:43:50.46 is going. Let's talk about the Bible School. Yes. 00:43:50.66\00:43:52.96 Let's talk about that as far as the Bible School 00:43:53.16\00:43:55.63 and VOP and what's involved. 00:43:55.83\00:43:57.83 Well that, of course... We've talked about multiple things. 00:43:58.03\00:44:00.44 The Bible School is a vital piece of everything 00:44:00.74\00:44:03.71 that happens. The Bible School started in 1942... 00:44:03.91\00:44:07.31 not long after VOP started. 00:44:07.51\00:44:09.14 Bible School of the Air, Fordyce Detamore. 00:44:09.34\00:44:10.78 Yeah, that's right! 1942! 00:44:11.45\00:44:14.05 Um-hmm. Just the year before I was born. 00:44:14.25\00:44:16.22 We know that's not true. 00:44:18.85\00:44:20.72 I'm doin' the math and I'm thinkin' that's... 00:44:21.46\00:44:23.19 Well, anyway OK... So tell us about the Bible School. Yeah. 00:44:23.39\00:44:25.86 So what is the Bible School? 00:44:26.06\00:44:27.73 So it really operates at the local church level. 00:44:27.93\00:44:32.87 So what the Bible School does is it allows a local church 00:44:33.07\00:44:37.21 to minister to the communities 00:44:37.41\00:44:40.58 to invite people to study the Bible. And then it's actually 00:44:40.78\00:44:43.28 run right out of the local church. 00:44:43.48\00:44:45.98 And so right here in North America 00:44:46.18\00:44:47.98 there are 2,200... maybe a little bit more. 00:44:48.18\00:44:50.85 We're running 2,200 Bible Schools in North America 00:44:51.05\00:44:52.55 right now. 2,200 Bible Schools 00:44:52.75\00:44:54.09 that are kind of you know spread out throughout North America 00:44:54.12\00:44:56.96 centered in a local church. 00:44:57.16\00:44:58.66 And it really becomes a vital part of our evangelistic mtgs. 00:44:58.86\00:45:02.93 too. I won't actually hold an evangelistic meeting unless 00:45:03.13\00:45:05.93 there's been a Bible School running in that town 00:45:06.13\00:45:07.47 for a year or two. So how does it work? 00:45:07.67\00:45:09.57 Well, a number of ways, right? Yeah, go ahead. 00:45:09.77\00:45:11.91 There's correspondence. People can do it old-school 00:45:12.11\00:45:14.11 correspondence. You can give out cards in the community. 00:45:14.31\00:45:16.01 We'll help you set one up. 00:45:16.21\00:45:17.71 You can also go online now and tailor it to your own church 00:45:17.91\00:45:20.42 and have your church members work online with people. 00:45:20.62\00:45:23.08 And your website can be custom- ized to what you do in your town 00:45:23.28\00:45:26.19 and your event and that kind of thing. Yes! 00:45:26.39\00:45:27.72 And it's in 100 languages. 00:45:27.92\00:45:29.32 Forty I think. A hundred and forty languages? 00:45:30.39\00:45:32.09 No 140 countries; 100 languages. We just added 60 more languages. 00:45:32.29\00:45:34.16 I know, we just concurred. I'm sorry. Our director's 00:45:34.36\00:45:36.46 probably watching. I know it's a whole lot of languages 00:45:36.67\00:45:38.93 we just added. But our newest language 00:45:39.13\00:45:40.77 is Inuktitut... the language of the Inuit up at the North Pole. 00:45:40.97\00:45:45.77 I've been working up there for about a decade now. 00:45:45.97\00:45:48.64 I've been making trips up there to see what's up there 00:45:48.84\00:45:51.58 and now we need a Bible School. 00:45:51.78\00:45:53.11 That's really an unreached people group right here 00:45:53.15\00:45:55.18 in North America so we're very... So there are cards 00:45:55.38\00:45:58.19 that people can go in the community and hand out. 00:45:58.39\00:46:00.16 And then what happens? OK, so then the card is sent back 00:46:00.36\00:46:02.32 to VOP or to the local church? It can be both. 00:46:02.52\00:46:05.03 It's however the church wants to set up. 00:46:05.23\00:46:07.33 VOP is our headquarters so you can set it up... 00:46:07.53\00:46:10.87 When you sent out the card it can have our address on it. 00:46:11.27\00:46:13.10 Comes back to us. Our staff will grade those lessons 00:46:13.30\00:46:16.10 and send them back. OR you can put the address 00:46:16.30\00:46:18.84 of your local church and then your local church 00:46:19.04\00:46:21.04 is a Discover Bible School right there. 00:46:21.24\00:46:23.68 It can do the follow-up and have the correspondence - 00:46:23.88\00:46:25.48 yeah - with the local church. Either/or. That's incredible. 00:46:25.68\00:46:28.12 And we'll provide the training and the materials are all there. 00:46:28.32\00:46:30.25 And you get real relationships. People get a lot out of this 00:46:30.45\00:46:33.22 because you're not just looking at their lesson 00:46:33.42\00:46:35.12 you're passing little notes back and forth. "Wow! 00:46:35.32\00:46:37.36 You really have great insight here. " 00:46:37.56\00:46:38.89 "Would you pray for me? My daughter's dying. " 00:46:38.99\00:46:41.13 You get those letters - wow - and so we have a team that 00:46:41.33\00:46:43.13 does do lessons from all over the world in the office 00:46:43.33\00:46:45.80 but it's better if your church runs one. 00:46:46.00\00:46:49.00 So we've got 2,200. We've got room for 2,201. 00:46:49.20\00:46:52.11 So hurry and sign up! 00:46:53.14\00:46:54.84 I had no idea that you all had 2,200 Bible Schools. 00:46:55.04\00:46:57.01 Yeah, right here in North America. That's incredible! 00:46:57.21\00:46:58.65 So if people want their church to be involved in a Bible School 00:46:58.85\00:47:01.62 they just go to VOP.com? VOP.com and ask us about it. 00:47:01.82\00:47:04.19 Perfect. Bible Studies. Look at biblestudies.com 00:47:04.39\00:47:07.19 if you want to see what's available for Bible studies. 00:47:07.39\00:47:08.82 We've got I don't know 11 or 12 courses now in that set. Um-hmm. 00:47:09.02\00:47:11.99 Yeah, you know in fact we can even go more personal than that. 00:47:12.49\00:47:17.33 You or I... Greg, you could start your own Bible school 00:47:17.53\00:47:20.44 if you wanted to. Really? Just out of my own home? 00:47:20.64\00:47:22.74 You could... absolutely. 00:47:22.94\00:47:24.27 So there is a website and we could put that image up 00:47:24.47\00:47:27.14 for our viewers who might want to see that. 00:47:27.34\00:47:28.74 It's BIBLESCHOOLS.COM 00:47:28.94\00:47:30.45 Very easy to remember. 00:47:30.65\00:47:31.98 So when you... If you have a burden to do this 00:47:32.08\00:47:35.22 to minister to people personally 00:47:35.42\00:47:36.75 maybe you don't have a church that can do this 00:47:36.92\00:47:39.15 you go on there and after a couple of steps 00:47:39.35\00:47:41.79 you can set up an online Bible School 00:47:41.99\00:47:44.79 that any one of us can run right from our home. 00:47:44.99\00:47:47.80 All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. 00:47:48.00\00:47:50.17 Incredible! It's really wonderful. 00:47:50.37\00:47:51.70 OK... so I'm sitting at home and I'm saying: "I'd like to 00:47:51.80\00:47:53.70 sign up for this and I'm really interested in that. 00:47:53.90\00:47:55.97 I could maybe do it from my house 00:47:56.17\00:47:57.51 but I'm not sure I know all the answers 00:47:57.57\00:47:59.47 so if someone sends it back how do I? Do I have a cheat 00:47:59.67\00:48:02.21 sheet that tells me what's the right answer? 00:48:02.41\00:48:04.35 Or how does that work? " So the online one 00:48:04.55\00:48:07.02 everything is all on the computer and so you would 00:48:07.22\00:48:10.25 be able to basically automatically grade. 00:48:10.45\00:48:12.75 And essentially yes, we would set you completely up 00:48:12.95\00:48:15.06 for success in every way. Nothing is left to guess work. 00:48:15.26\00:48:18.16 Yes. So we do have viewers and listeners right now 00:48:18.96\00:48:20.80 that are saying: "You know what? I'm trying to find God 00:48:21.00\00:48:22.96 but I don't even know how to study the Bible. " 00:48:23.16\00:48:25.03 "What you guys are saying is pretty neat, but it sounds like 00:48:25.23\00:48:27.10 I've gotta get involved in some type of a group.
