00:09:29.46\00:09:30.93 And what do you think you might be able to gain 00:09:30.97\00:09:34.00 from this program that can be a blessing to you, 00:09:34.04\00:09:37.54 maybe your family, or maybe even your larger community? 00:09:37.57\00:09:41.34 And as you think about that, 00:09:41.38\00:09:42.71 I want you to really focus as we go through the points 00:09:42.74\00:09:45.81 we're going to be discussing today 00:09:45.85\00:09:47.32 as to how can you actually use this to impact your own life, 00:09:47.35\00:09:52.55 your family's life and that larger circle. 00:09:52.59\00:09:54.39 So put a little thought into that, 00:09:54.42\00:09:56.29 and I'm so happy that you're here today 00:09:56.32\00:09:59.03 as we're going to be discussing this together. 00:09:59.06\00:10:01.30 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:10:01.33\00:10:02.70 And I understand that, 00:10:02.73\00:10:04.07 you know, your passion is obviously health ministry. 00:10:04.10\00:10:07.14 And so tell us a little bit about what you've done, 00:10:07.17\00:10:10.01 you know, in recent times and leading up to now 00:10:10.04\00:10:12.27 that would kind of kick us off in this discussion 00:10:12.31\00:10:14.74 about what you have done 00:10:14.78\00:10:16.48 and what you're going to be talking about how we can, 00:10:16.51\00:10:18.55 you know, implement some of these practices 00:10:18.58\00:10:20.58 to become a healthier person 00:10:20.62\00:10:22.22 living during these difficult times. 00:10:22.25\00:10:23.59 Sure. 00:10:23.62\00:10:24.95 There's a couple of pieces to that. 00:10:24.99\00:10:26.32 One of them is that I happen to come 00:10:26.35\00:10:27.79 from a big family of lots of diabetics and pre-diabetics. 00:10:27.82\00:10:31.59 So that probably started a lot of my interest 00:10:31.63\00:10:34.43 in this particular aspect of health. 00:10:34.46\00:10:36.46 And it's an aspect that affects so many of us as Americans. 00:10:36.50\00:10:39.13 Right. 00:10:39.17\00:10:40.50 Not only in America, but around the world, 00:10:40.54\00:10:41.97 we're seeing rising rates of metabolic disorders 00:10:42.00\00:10:44.74 like metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, 00:10:44.77\00:10:46.64 and various kinds of diabetes. 00:10:46.68\00:10:49.08 So that was probably one of the things 00:10:49.11\00:10:51.51 that started me down this particular path. 00:10:51.55\00:10:54.35 And I just really have a passion to share with people 00:10:54.38\00:10:58.32 I work, especially with women 00:10:58.35\00:10:59.69 that want to reverse diabetes, but will work with anybody. 00:10:59.72\00:11:01.96 Sure. 00:11:01.99\00:11:03.32 I'm using God's pathway to health, 00:11:03.36\00:11:04.69 which we're going to discuss today. 00:11:04.73\00:11:06.06 Amen. 00:11:06.09\00:11:07.43 Here in America, you know, about half of our population 00:11:07.46\00:11:10.87 has pre-diabetes or diabetes, 00:11:10.90\00:11:12.83 but maybe 90% of the pre-diabetics 00:11:12.87\00:11:14.77 don't know it yet. 00:11:14.80\00:11:16.14 So part of my passion is helping people to realize 00:11:16.17\00:11:19.21 when it is they might actually need to take action 00:11:19.24\00:11:21.18 to prevent damage to their bodies. 00:11:21.21\00:11:23.04 Wow. That's amazing. 00:11:23.08\00:11:24.41 Praise the Lord. 00:11:24.45\00:11:25.78 Okay, so now let's transition into these major points 00:11:25.81\00:11:29.98 that you want to make today. 00:11:30.02\00:11:31.35 Because I understand we're limited in time, 00:11:31.39\00:11:33.15 but you have three major points 00:11:33.19\00:11:35.02 that you're going to share with us today 00:11:35.06\00:11:36.62 as to what we need to focus our attention 00:11:36.66\00:11:38.69 on in practicing preventative approaches 00:11:38.73\00:11:43.00 to making sure we don't get sick. 00:11:43.03\00:11:44.57 So transition into that for us. 00:11:44.60\00:11:47.10 Okay, the first thing we're going to talk about today 00:11:47.14\00:11:49.60 is the importance of prevention and what that entails. 00:11:49.64\00:11:52.71 We're going to be talking about the impact of very early 00:11:52.74\00:11:55.41 and aggressive treatment for COVID. 00:11:55.44\00:11:57.45 And we're going to talk about God's wisdom 00:11:57.48\00:11:58.81 and giving us a solution. 00:11:58.85\00:12:00.58 Now, you know, there's a really important reason 00:12:00.62\00:12:03.45 why I want to share this life saving information 00:12:03.49\00:12:05.82 with our audience today. 00:12:05.85\00:12:07.26 And that is because not just because 00:12:07.29\00:12:09.79 an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of care, as they say. 00:12:09.82\00:12:13.96 And it's not just because illness is very expensive. 00:12:14.00\00:12:16.43 Sure. 00:12:16.46\00:12:17.80 You know, last year 2020, 00:12:17.83\00:12:19.17 we had one and a half million people 00:12:19.20\00:12:20.54 calling into work sick every single month. 00:12:20.57\00:12:24.37 But it's because God has given us a pathway for health 00:12:24.41\00:12:28.18 that is simple, inexpensive, and accessible to all. 00:12:28.21\00:12:31.48 Absolutely. Absolutely. 00:12:31.51\00:12:33.05 Okay, so let's break these down, 00:12:33.08\00:12:34.58 because you just listed them there. 00:12:34.62\00:12:37.55 Let's take on point one, because I'm kind of, 00:12:37.59\00:12:39.82 I'm thinking of this in a very systematic way, 00:12:39.85\00:12:42.52 I know as I'm taking notes. 00:12:42.56\00:12:44.09 Let's start with the first one. 00:12:44.13\00:12:45.46 So we're looking at the importance of prevention. 00:12:45.49\00:12:47.76 Why... There may be someone right now at home thinking, 00:12:47.80\00:12:50.37 you know what, you're going to get sick no matter what, 00:12:50.40\00:12:52.37 it's not gonna, nothing's really going to help 00:12:52.40\00:12:53.80 because some people have that mentality 00:12:53.84\00:12:55.20 that it's not really going to matter what you eat, 00:12:55.24\00:12:57.07 what you drink, what you do, 00:12:57.11\00:12:58.44 as far as the lifestyle practice, 00:12:58.47\00:12:59.81 you're going to get sick anyway. 00:12:59.84\00:13:01.18 So let's talk about the importance of prevention? 00:13:01.21\00:13:03.28 Okay. 00:13:03.31\00:13:04.65 You know, we can prevent many infections by addressing 00:13:04.68\00:13:07.52 the preventable chronic illnesses, lifestyle diseases 00:13:07.55\00:13:11.45 that are primary contributors to death from COVID-19. 00:13:11.49\00:13:14.76 You know, we've all been hearing about that. 00:13:14.79\00:13:16.32 Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, 00:13:16.36\00:13:19.63 our national level of deaths from COVID is highly impacted 00:13:19.66\00:13:23.26 by our overall poor health status as a nation. 00:13:23.30\00:13:26.00 Right. 00:13:26.03\00:13:27.37 But you know, that even 00:13:27.40\00:13:28.94 in the face of those terrible statistics, 00:13:28.97\00:13:31.37 we have more people dying from heart disease, 00:13:31.41\00:13:33.88 smoking and diabetes than we do from COVID. 00:13:33.91\00:13:37.21 So, you know, we really need to broaden our view and say, 00:13:37.25\00:13:40.92 "What do we need to do to prevent?" 00:13:40.95\00:13:43.39 Right, right. 00:13:43.42\00:13:44.75 Okay, so let's talk about some of the... 00:13:44.79\00:13:46.82 Let's get into some of these individual points 00:13:46.86\00:13:49.16 because when you mentioned heart disease, diabetes, 00:13:49.19\00:13:52.89 some of these individual points here. 00:13:52.93\00:13:55.16 There are other lifestyle practices 00:13:55.20\00:13:57.10 or not necessarily lifestyle practices, 00:13:57.13\00:13:59.13 but there are diseases that come upon us 00:13:59.17\00:14:01.44 that basically set us up for becoming more sick. 00:14:01.47\00:14:06.17 Talk a little bit about that before we transition 00:14:06.21\00:14:08.14 to the next point here? 00:14:08.18\00:14:09.61 Well, you know, our personal health status, 00:14:09.64\00:14:12.88 whatever we are experiencing 00:14:12.91\00:14:14.28 is largely the result of our choices. 00:14:14.32\00:14:16.35 Right. 00:14:16.38\00:14:17.75 A lot of times it's out of ignorance, 00:14:17.79\00:14:19.22 maybe we just don't know what we need to do to be healthier. 00:14:19.25\00:14:23.53 I work with a lot of diabetes clients 00:14:23.56\00:14:25.86 that want to reverse their diabetes, 00:14:25.89\00:14:27.30 and they tell me "Well, I really know what to do. 00:14:27.33\00:14:30.00 I mean, I know I need to exercise 00:14:30.03\00:14:31.60 or I need to know I need to eat healthier, 00:14:31.63\00:14:34.50 but I really have trouble sticking 00:14:34.54\00:14:36.81 to any of those changes." 00:14:36.84\00:14:39.14 And often the greatest obstacle to actually finding success 00:14:39.17\00:14:43.75 is understanding what are the appropriate motivations 00:14:43.78\00:14:46.61 for lifestyle change, and how do we get the willpower 00:14:46.65\00:14:52.12 to stick to those changes, right? 00:14:52.15\00:14:54.32 Right, right. 00:14:54.36\00:14:55.69 And to me, the key when I work with people 00:14:55.72\00:14:57.69 like that is help them understand 00:14:57.73\00:14:59.06 that we have to plugged into a power source. 00:14:59.09\00:15:01.06 Okay. 00:15:01.10\00:15:02.43 And that power source is God. 00:15:02.46\00:15:04.60 He's the only one that can actually give us the power 00:15:04.63\00:15:07.14 to follow through on all of our good intentions. 00:15:07.17\00:15:09.67 Right. 00:15:09.70\00:15:11.04 But that's what He wants to do and He gives us promises 00:15:11.07\00:15:13.68 that He stands behind in this respect. 00:15:13.71\00:15:16.48 Amen. 00:15:16.51\00:15:17.98 So let's talk about some of the things 00:15:18.01\00:15:20.52 that we can do to improve our chances of not getting sick, 00:15:20.55\00:15:23.89 okay, whether it's COVID, whether it's, 00:15:23.92\00:15:26.32 whatever illness out, there may be just the common flu, 00:15:26.35\00:15:29.02 the common cold, or maybe there's someone watching 00:15:29.06\00:15:31.49 right now with cancer, or maybe there's, 00:15:31.53\00:15:35.73 you know, maybe they have cancer in their family, 00:15:35.76\00:15:37.17 in their genetics. 00:15:37.20\00:15:38.53 There are certain lifestyle practices or things that we can 00:15:38.57\00:15:40.94 practice that will set us up to prevent those things. 00:15:40.97\00:15:44.21 So take us through that, let's walk us 00:15:44.24\00:15:46.71 through those practices we can do? 00:15:46.74\00:15:48.54 Okay. We're gonna get into some details in just a minute. 00:15:48.58\00:15:50.41 Sure. 00:15:50.45\00:15:51.78 But I still want to give just a little bit of a broader 00:15:51.81\00:15:53.15 overview of where we're going with that. 00:15:53.18\00:15:54.98 Because I think it's really, really important for people 00:15:55.02\00:15:57.35 to understand the power of the will. 00:15:57.39\00:15:58.72 Okay, yeah. 00:15:58.75\00:16:00.09 You know, the power of the will is not valued as it should be. 00:16:00.12\00:16:03.39 Let the will be kept awake and rightly directed, 00:16:03.43\00:16:06.53 and it will impart energy to the whole being, 00:16:06.56\00:16:09.66 and will be a wonderful aid in the maintenance of health. 00:16:09.70\00:16:13.54 By the exercise of willpower, 00:16:13.57\00:16:15.94 in placing themselves in right relation to health, 00:16:15.97\00:16:18.61 that's about these practices 00:16:18.64\00:16:19.97 we're going to be talking about. 00:16:20.01\00:16:21.38 Patients can do much to cooperate 00:16:21.41\00:16:23.14 with the physician's efforts for their recovery. 00:16:23.18\00:16:25.55 There are thousands who can recover if they will. 00:16:25.58\00:16:30.05 And that's from one of my favorite books, 00:16:30.09\00:16:31.42 the Ministry of Healing. 00:16:31.45\00:16:32.79 All right, okay. 00:16:32.82\00:16:34.16 And it really kind of puts things 00:16:34.19\00:16:35.52 in the correct perspective. 00:16:35.56\00:16:37.06 Anything we choose to do, 00:16:37.09\00:16:38.79 in terms of particular behaviors, 00:16:38.83\00:16:41.13 needs to be in an understanding that as we do that, 00:16:41.16\00:16:44.30 we're bringing ourselves into harmony 00:16:44.33\00:16:45.93 with the way God designed our bodies to work. 00:16:45.97\00:16:48.80 And so as we fulfill His will 00:16:48.84\00:16:53.24 in applying those principles in our life, 00:16:53.27\00:16:55.48 we can experience His blessing in better health. 00:16:55.51\00:16:57.55 Right. 00:16:57.58\00:16:58.91 So you got someone right now watching, probably saying, 00:16:58.95\00:17:01.35 "But Lucia, I don't have willpower." 00:17:01.38\00:17:05.32 So I mean, but talk a little about that for a moment 00:17:05.35\00:17:07.49 because there's, you know, people struggle 00:17:07.52\00:17:09.66 with those choices, even though they know that 00:17:09.69\00:17:11.43 they shouldn't smoke, they still do, right? 00:17:11.46\00:17:13.33 They still make that choice, because they're addicted to it, 00:17:13.36\00:17:15.66 you know, they know that they shouldn't eat this 00:17:15.70\00:17:17.70 or drink that they still do, 00:17:17.73\00:17:19.07 because they know they're addicted to it. 00:17:19.10\00:17:20.44 So talk about how willpower comes in, 00:17:20.47\00:17:21.90 and how we might can improve our exercising 00:17:21.94\00:17:25.74 of willpower in those moments when we're in our, 00:17:25.77\00:17:28.34 at our weakest points? 00:17:28.38\00:17:29.71 Oh, that's a great question. 00:17:29.74\00:17:31.08 That's one of the reasons that I've developed 00:17:31.11\00:17:32.98 the resources that I have to help people 00:17:33.01\00:17:34.82 especially with that. 00:17:34.85\00:17:36.18 For example, I have an online diabetes reversal course, 00:17:36.22\00:17:40.26 it's like a three month course 00:17:40.29\00:17:41.99 that takes people through the educational components 00:17:42.02\00:17:44.39 that are really important 00:17:44.43\00:17:45.76 to being able to have the willpower 00:17:45.79\00:17:47.30 and the motivation to stick with choices. 00:17:47.33\00:17:49.76 So one on one coaching, 00:17:49.80\00:17:51.50 or the art and science of plant-based cooking club, 00:17:51.53\00:17:54.30 for those that are looking at choosing foods 00:17:54.34\00:17:56.91 that will really promote their health that I do is a Zoom 00:17:56.94\00:18:00.34 delivered membership and other free resources. 00:18:00.38\00:18:03.41 All of those are to help people to understand more deeply 00:18:03.45\00:18:08.08 the causes behind what they're suffering for. 00:18:08.12\00:18:10.89 Because one of the principles of health is that 00:18:10.92\00:18:12.79 we always want to address the root cause, 00:18:12.82\00:18:15.12 not just the symptoms. 00:18:15.16\00:18:17.13 And so the whole willpower, 00:18:17.16\00:18:20.13 the root cause of our problem with willpower 00:18:20.16\00:18:22.36 is often we don't know what it means to trust God. 00:18:22.40\00:18:25.57 And we need to grow in our relationship with Him 00:18:25.60\00:18:28.17 and our ability to tap into that power 00:18:28.20\00:18:30.94 that only He can provide. 00:18:30.97\00:18:32.54 Amen. Amen. 00:18:32.57\00:18:33.91 And so all of this kind of goes together, 00:18:33.94\00:18:35.51 it's like a whole package, you can't take pieces apart, right? 00:18:35.54\00:18:38.21 Absolutely, depending on God. 00:18:38.25\00:18:39.78 And we're going to talk a little bit more about that, 00:18:39.81\00:18:41.28 and depending on the Lord 00:18:41.32\00:18:43.02 to give us that power to overcome, 00:18:43.05\00:18:45.32 and to grab this bull by the horns. 00:18:45.35\00:18:47.22 And it's not us necessarily having to do it all 00:18:47.26\00:18:49.46 by ourselves, right? 00:18:49.49\00:18:50.83 God gives us the power to do so. 00:18:50.86\00:18:52.49 I know we're gonna get into, 00:18:52.53\00:18:53.86 I kind of jumped the gun earlier 00:18:53.90\00:18:55.23 by asking about those preventative practices. 00:18:55.26\00:18:56.73 We're going to get into that 00:18:56.77\00:18:58.17 in a later portion of this interview. 00:18:58.20\00:19:00.44 But let's talk about, you know, addressing this COVID situation 00:19:00.47\00:19:04.91 in its early stages, 00:19:04.94\00:19:06.27 or hopefully before it comes on, right? 00:19:06.31\00:19:07.64 Yes. 00:19:07.68\00:19:09.01 Let's talk about that. 00:19:09.04\00:19:10.38 So talk to us how we can, how we can fight COVID now, 00:19:10.41\00:19:12.71 either we might have had it, maybe we haven't had it, 00:19:12.75\00:19:15.55 but make sure we don't get it or in the case 00:19:15.58\00:19:17.59 that we do we can lower our chances of ending up 00:19:17.62\00:19:19.92 in a hospital or doing further damage to our bodies? 00:19:19.95\00:19:22.66 I love that, that we're going to deal 00:19:22.69\00:19:25.29 with the first part of that next, 00:19:25.33\00:19:26.66 which is the how do we prevent it. 00:19:26.70\00:19:28.16 I want to talk a little bit directly about 00:19:28.20\00:19:30.83 some of the things we have access 00:19:30.87\00:19:32.37 to that can make a huge difference. 00:19:32.40\00:19:34.50 If we start to get ill, we suspect it's COVID, 00:19:34.54\00:19:36.97 maybe we don't know yet 00:19:37.01\00:19:38.34 or maybe we find out it is COVID. 00:19:38.37\00:19:40.28 You know, back in May of last year, 00:19:40.31\00:19:42.38 I was listening to a public radio 00:19:42.41\00:19:45.68 program called, "Ask the Doctor" 00:19:45.71\00:19:47.28 and somebody came online and they said, 00:19:47.32\00:19:49.92 "So, doctor, this is my question. 00:19:49.95\00:19:52.05 If I start to feel sick, 00:19:52.09\00:19:53.42 you know, maybe I have a bit of a cough or a bit of a fever. 00:19:53.46\00:19:56.32 Maybe I'm losing my taste and my smell. 00:19:56.36\00:19:59.03 What can I do before I'm sick enough 00:19:59.06\00:20:01.43 to come to the hospital?" 00:20:01.46\00:20:02.96 Okay. 00:20:03.00\00:20:04.33 The answer the physician gave was, "Wear a mask, 00:20:04.37\00:20:07.64 wash your hands, self-isolate, and if you have a temperature, 00:20:07.67\00:20:11.24 take a Tylenol." 00:20:11.27\00:20:12.87 Oh, okay, wow. 00:20:12.91\00:20:14.24 And I kept listening, I kept like, "Okay, and, and..." 00:20:14.28\00:20:17.75 And there was no more. 00:20:17.78\00:20:19.68 And I was really devastated that this was 00:20:19.71\00:20:23.92 what people were hearing on a national basis. 00:20:23.95\00:20:25.79 All right. 00:20:25.82\00:20:27.16 Because I was like, "Oh no, there are so many things 00:20:27.19\00:20:29.56 that you can do in that early stage of illness, 00:20:29.59\00:20:33.23 whether it's COVID, or some other viral 00:20:33.26\00:20:35.50 or bacterial infection, 00:20:35.53\00:20:36.87 even if it's just a normal cold or flu." 00:20:36.90\00:20:39.27 And you can imagine that there's thousands, 00:20:39.30\00:20:41.20 maybe millions of people that are getting 00:20:41.24\00:20:42.57 that same information from their doctors. 00:20:42.60\00:20:44.74 Yes. It's very true. 00:20:44.77\00:20:46.78 And so we're not really hearing about answers 00:20:46.81\00:20:49.81 on how to prevent the progression 00:20:49.84\00:20:51.91 of infections like COVID in our body. 00:20:51.95\00:20:54.75 You know, by last April or May. 00:20:54.78\00:20:56.55 So it's been quite a while now, we were showing, 00:20:56.58\00:20:59.25 they had good studies showing kind of the progress 00:20:59.29\00:21:02.02 of COVID in your body. 00:21:02.06\00:21:04.26 And it had three phases. 00:21:04.29\00:21:06.19 And the second phase, 00:21:06.23\00:21:07.93 which is the one we're going to focus on here, 00:21:07.96\00:21:09.53 started from the time you were infected, 00:21:09.56\00:21:12.63 and through your first week of symptoms. 00:21:12.67\00:21:15.24 So sometimes you are exposed, 00:21:15.27\00:21:17.74 and you might have five days with no symptoms at all. 00:21:17.77\00:21:20.61 And then you start to feel something, right? 00:21:20.64\00:21:22.44 A little bit of sore throat, or cough or runny nose. 00:21:22.48\00:21:26.28 And that phase usually lasts about a week. 00:21:26.31\00:21:29.58 So that's a total of about 12 days from the time 00:21:29.62\00:21:33.02 COVID has entered your body to the end of phase two.. 00:21:33.05\00:21:36.46 What they found that I thought was so fascinating, 00:21:36.49\00:21:39.09 was that if your body was able to fight off COVID 00:21:39.13\00:21:43.67 in that second phase where you had symptoms, 00:21:43.70\00:21:46.23 so you knew something was going on 00:21:46.27\00:21:48.20 but before it went into the third phase, 00:21:48.24\00:21:51.07 that that was the really key time to overcome the disease. 00:21:51.11\00:21:56.34 If your body couldn't overcome it 00:21:56.38\00:21:58.38 in the first seven days of symptoms, 00:21:58.41\00:22:00.85 then you were much more likely to end up in the hospital. 00:22:00.88\00:22:04.45 And once you were in the hospital, 00:22:04.49\00:22:05.82 things tended to progress 00:22:05.85\00:22:07.19 in the bad direction pretty quickly. 00:22:07.22\00:22:09.16 About 80% of infected people are able to kick it 00:22:09.19\00:22:12.46 in that first week. 00:22:12.49\00:22:13.83 Okay. 00:22:13.86\00:22:15.20 The 20% that don't are the ones that end up in phase three. 00:22:15.23\00:22:17.37 So they might end up in the hospital needing oxygen, 00:22:17.40\00:22:20.04 ICU or even a ventilator. 00:22:20.07\00:22:22.40 But once you get into that phase three, 00:22:22.44\00:22:24.77 your mortality risk just skyrocket. 00:22:24.81\00:22:28.24 So it's really important that we attack it early on. 00:22:28.28\00:22:32.28 That's right. 00:22:32.31\00:22:33.65 So they found that if you have a really strong immune system 00:22:33.68\00:22:37.02 that is really working well. 00:22:37.05\00:22:40.09 And that's the innate part of the immune system 00:22:40.12\00:22:42.22 that kicks in first, that that is really important 00:22:42.26\00:22:45.59 and God's pathway to health 00:22:45.63\00:22:46.96 actually helps us build that innate immune system. 00:22:47.00\00:22:48.93 Isn't that amazing? 00:22:48.96\00:22:50.30 That's right. 00:22:50.33\00:22:51.67 So we want to talk about a lot of those things 00:22:51.70\00:22:53.03 that can be implemented right away. 00:22:53.07\00:22:54.40 Sure. 00:22:54.44\00:22:55.77 Before you have a positive test, 00:22:55.80\00:22:57.31 or even if you have something besides COVID. 00:22:57.34\00:23:00.64 Amen. Amen. 00:23:00.68\00:23:02.01 Okay, so let's go a little bit further with this. 00:23:02.04\00:23:04.85 Because there's someone watching at home that says, 00:23:04.88\00:23:07.42 okay, you've given me the statistics. 00:23:07.45\00:23:09.02 So now what, what comes next? 00:23:09.05\00:23:10.95 Okay, so a couple of outlines here 00:23:10.99\00:23:14.42 is that you want to start these treatments as soon as you can. 00:23:14.46\00:23:18.96 And if you do end up with a positive test for COVID, 00:23:18.99\00:23:22.00 try to find a health provider that will support you 00:23:22.03\00:23:24.83 in aggressive early treatment. 00:23:24.87\00:23:26.20 Sure. 00:23:26.23\00:23:27.57 Some of them are better educated on that than others. 00:23:27.60\00:23:29.84 But you want to really get that partnership going, 00:23:29.87\00:23:34.54 if possible. 00:23:34.58\00:23:36.24 One of my husband's cousin's, for example, 00:23:36.28\00:23:38.75 came down with COVID just a few weeks ago, 00:23:38.78\00:23:40.88 and she is fairly healthy, was doing a lot of health practices 00:23:40.92\00:23:44.82 and avoiding junk food and exercising 00:23:44.85\00:23:46.86 and all those sorts of things. 00:23:46.89\00:23:48.32 But she got so sick, she was really getting weak, 00:23:48.36\00:23:50.63 and she couldn't quite kick it in that first week. 00:23:50.66\00:23:53.80 So she decided she would go to a doctor to see 00:23:53.83\00:23:56.10 if she could get some aggressive 00:23:56.13\00:23:57.67 outpatient treatment, because there are some things 00:23:57.70\00:24:00.40 that can be done outpatient, 00:24:00.44\00:24:02.07 without going into the hospital. 00:24:02.10\00:24:03.44 When she showed up and they found out that at that point, 00:24:03.47\00:24:07.24 she hadn't been vaccinated, 00:24:07.28\00:24:08.61 they weren't really happy with her, 00:24:08.64\00:24:09.98 and they ended up sending her home with no help. 00:24:10.01\00:24:12.21 And even so a lot of people are finding that, 00:24:12.25\00:24:16.05 that's not always a place where you can get help. 00:24:16.08\00:24:18.72 So knowing what you can do at home is really important. 00:24:18.75\00:24:22.02 So some of those things that you can start right away 00:24:22.06\00:24:25.26 and you have nothing to lose, 00:24:25.29\00:24:26.66 even if you don't end up getting sick is hydrotherapy, 00:24:26.70\00:24:30.17 like the hot and cold showers, fomentation to the chest, 00:24:30.20\00:24:34.50 inhalations of oregano, and so on. 00:24:34.54\00:24:37.34 And we can't go into details on those here. 00:24:37.37\00:24:39.44 But those are just to give you some ideas of things 00:24:39.47\00:24:42.21 that can be done at home. 00:24:42.24\00:24:43.88 Then we have nutraceuticals, 00:24:43.91\00:24:45.58 that's just a fancy name for those. 00:24:45.61\00:24:46.95 Yeah, right... 00:24:46.98\00:24:48.32 What's nutraceuticals? 00:24:48.35\00:24:49.72 Like vitamins and supplements, things like that. 00:24:49.75\00:24:51.99 Vitamin C and D, Zinc lozenges several times a day Quercetin, 00:24:52.02\00:24:57.86 N-acetyl cysteine often known as NAC, 00:24:57.89\00:25:01.20 all of those things can really help. 00:25:01.23\00:25:03.47 NAC can help with them, breaking down clots 00:25:03.50\00:25:06.70 that can form in your body associated with COVID. 00:25:06.74\00:25:08.74 Right. 00:25:08.77\00:25:10.11 So it's really important 00:25:10.14\00:25:11.47 that if you have classic symptoms of COVID, 00:25:11.51\00:25:12.84 like you've lost your taste and your smell, 00:25:12.87\00:25:14.31 for example, on top of other things 00:25:14.34\00:25:16.81 that you might want to ask your care provider 00:25:16.85\00:25:19.61 about following something called the FLCCC protocol, 00:25:19.65\00:25:24.52 known as I-MASK+, something can be found online, 00:25:24.55\00:25:28.42 it's evidence based, it's something you can take 00:25:28.46\00:25:30.39 and show your doctor and say, "Look at this, 00:25:30.43\00:25:32.09 because it's something you can help me with." 00:25:32.13\00:25:33.76 Those are things that you can do early on in that first week. 00:25:33.80\00:25:38.30 Your only options are not just, 00:25:38.33\00:25:41.60 you know, waiting for treatment till you're seriously ill. 00:25:41.64\00:25:43.54 There are things you can do early on. 00:25:43.57\00:25:46.24 Right. Absolutely. 00:25:46.27\00:25:47.61 And so again, you know, we right now with, 00:25:47.64\00:25:50.45 you know, with the vaccine talk and all that, 00:25:50.48\00:25:52.31 and of course, we're not, you know, here to tell you 00:25:52.35\00:25:54.32 whether you should or should not get the vaccine, 00:25:54.35\00:25:55.92 that's your personal choice. 00:25:55.95\00:25:57.29 But yet many people have that idea 00:25:57.32\00:25:59.22 that the vaccine is all that I need, or all, 00:25:59.25\00:26:01.96 you know, that's really my only option that I have. 00:26:01.99\00:26:04.03 And there's been people that have taken the vaccine, 00:26:04.06\00:26:05.56 and they still get sick, or they end up in the hospital. 00:26:05.59\00:26:07.93 So what we're talking about here is with, 00:26:07.96\00:26:10.60 though, whether you have or have not gotten the vaccine. 00:26:10.63\00:26:12.13 Right. 00:26:12.17\00:26:13.50 And obviously, whether you have or have not gotten sick, 00:26:13.54\00:26:16.10 now we're going to get into the nitty-gritty 00:26:16.14\00:26:18.94 as to what we can do to prevent this 00:26:18.97\00:26:22.68 or to certainly significantly decrease 00:26:22.71\00:26:24.78 our chances of getting sicker. 00:26:24.81\00:26:26.21 So let's talk about that. 00:26:26.25\00:26:27.75 Let's talk about where we go from here? 00:26:27.78\00:26:30.05 You know, those are really key points. 00:26:30.09\00:26:31.42 I love the verse that Isaiah 55:8-9 where it says, 00:26:31.45\00:26:34.86 "My thoughts are not your thoughts, 00:26:34.89\00:26:36.69 neither are My ways your ways, saith the Lord." 00:26:36.73\00:26:39.79 For as My ways are higher than your ways. 00:26:39.83\00:26:43.53 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth," sorry, 00:26:43.57\00:26:45.83 "so are My ways higher than your ways 00:26:45.87\00:26:48.24 and my thoughts than your thoughts." 00:26:48.27\00:26:50.11 So God is really bigger than many of the things 00:26:50.14\00:26:53.98 we're hearing, or know about in this regard. 00:26:54.01\00:26:56.81 But we can trust that as we follow His simple instructions, 00:26:56.85\00:27:00.92 we could ask for His blessing in our life. 00:27:00.95\00:27:02.75 Amen. 00:27:02.78\00:27:04.12 You know, in another really interesting passage 00:27:04.15\00:27:08.79 that I came across by one of my favorite authors, 00:27:08.82\00:27:11.33 she said that the sooner 00:27:11.36\00:27:14.30 we as a people stand on the principles of health reform, 00:27:14.33\00:27:17.10 the greater will be the blessing 00:27:17.13\00:27:19.10 to those who are doing true medical work. 00:27:19.13\00:27:21.87 And she talks about examples of what is this work, 00:27:21.90\00:27:24.17 it's to treat the sick with water, 00:27:24.21\00:27:26.24 which we're talking about today, 00:27:26.27\00:27:27.61 teaching them to make the most of sunshine 00:27:27.64\00:27:29.28 and physical exercise. 00:27:29.31\00:27:31.18 And in simple language, 00:27:31.21\00:27:33.11 teaching people how to preserve health and avoid sickness. 00:27:33.15\00:27:36.58 This is true science. 00:27:36.62\00:27:37.95 That's right. 00:27:37.99\00:27:39.32 We hear a lot of talk about true science today. 00:27:39.35\00:27:41.82 But this is where we find true science. 00:27:41.86\00:27:44.66 You know, true education leads us to teach the sick 00:27:44.69\00:27:49.30 as health educators like I find myself in that position. 00:27:49.33\00:27:53.17 I like to teach people that you don't need to call a doctor 00:27:53.20\00:27:56.97 any more than you might have to call in a lawyer. 00:27:57.01\00:27:59.14 Now, do we need lawyers once in a while? 00:27:59.17\00:28:00.51 Of course. 00:28:00.54\00:28:01.88 Absolutely. 00:28:01.91\00:28:03.24 So there is definitely a place for doctors 00:28:03.28\00:28:04.61 and the medical work that they can do. 00:28:04.65\00:28:05.98 Amen. 00:28:06.01\00:28:07.35 But there's so much that we can do for ourselves. 00:28:07.38\00:28:09.95 That's what we're going to be talking about here next. 00:28:09.98\00:28:11.99 Okay. 00:28:12.02\00:28:13.36 So in our conversations, before we had this interview, 00:28:13.39\00:28:16.39 I heard you mentioned pathway to health, 00:28:16.42\00:28:18.99 talking about creating and setting up a pathway 00:28:19.03\00:28:21.76 to where we can be healthier people. 00:28:21.80\00:28:23.43 So talk to us a little bit about this pathway to health 00:28:23.47\00:28:26.47 that you also teach? 00:28:26.50\00:28:28.20 Okay, we have a graphic I'd like you to see, 00:28:28.24\00:28:31.11 called God's pathway to health. 00:28:31.14\00:28:33.11 And I just, it's kind of a way that I've summarized 00:28:33.14\00:28:35.78 the principles of health as I understood them best. 00:28:35.81\00:28:38.95 Studying biblical principles 00:28:38.98\00:28:40.45 and instruction God has given us. 00:28:40.48\00:28:42.68 And we see at the very top 00:28:42.72\00:28:44.49 is a pathway that kind of starts at the top 00:28:44.52\00:28:46.76 and then works its way down. 00:28:46.79\00:28:48.19 Sure. 00:28:48.22\00:28:49.56 The first line at the top 00:28:49.59\00:28:51.46 is using the eight laws of health. 00:28:51.49\00:28:54.36 The acronym NEWSTART helps us remember that, 00:28:54.40\00:28:56.83 as well as healthy relationships. 00:28:56.87\00:28:58.67 Sure. 00:28:58.70\00:29:00.04 Because there is a very strong social emotional component 00:29:00.07\00:29:02.67 to health. 00:29:02.70\00:29:04.04 When we are anxious, fearful, 00:29:04.07\00:29:07.14 suffering from broken relationships, 00:29:07.18\00:29:09.48 it directly impacts our immune system. 00:29:09.51\00:29:11.38 Of course, right. Absolutely. 00:29:11.41\00:29:12.75 And it makes it harder for our immune system to fight disease. 00:29:12.78\00:29:16.52 So having these healthy relationships 00:29:16.55\00:29:19.45 and social emotional connections are vital. 00:29:19.49\00:29:23.63 These eight laws of health are about healthy behaviors 00:29:23.66\00:29:27.00 that we can choose to implement that in NEWSTART, 00:29:27.03\00:29:30.27 for example, is about healthy nutrition. 00:29:30.30\00:29:32.73 Following God's principles of a whole food plant-based diet 00:29:32.77\00:29:35.77 as explained to us in the Bible, 00:29:35.80\00:29:37.77 as given to Adam and Eve in Genesis. 00:29:37.81\00:29:41.04 E is for exercise. 00:29:41.08\00:29:42.64 The importance of movement in our lives. 00:29:42.68\00:29:45.78 Not all of us can exercise at the same, 00:29:45.81\00:29:47.65 to the same degree or the same kinds of things, 00:29:47.68\00:29:49.92 but we can hopefully all move some part of our bodies 00:29:49.95\00:29:52.95 and using the abilities we have to improve our health 00:29:52.99\00:29:57.59 is where we start. 00:29:57.63\00:29:58.96 W is for water, that's the use of water inside, 00:29:58.99\00:30:01.86 drinking water, making sure we're well hydrated 00:30:01.90\00:30:03.80 and water outside. 00:30:03.83\00:30:05.20 Absolutely. 00:30:05.23\00:30:06.57 Bathing, hot and cold therapies 00:30:06.60\00:30:08.60 like contrast showers, hot foot baths. 00:30:08.64\00:30:11.44 All of these are ways to use water 00:30:11.47\00:30:13.38 in ways that boost our health and improve our immune system. 00:30:13.41\00:30:17.45 S is for sunshine. 00:30:17.48\00:30:19.41 Sunshine, of course, is huge for our mood. 00:30:19.45\00:30:22.75 It's huge for the production of melatonin, 00:30:22.78\00:30:24.92 which is a healing hormone in our body. 00:30:24.95\00:30:27.26 It's important for producing vitamin D, 00:30:27.29\00:30:30.03 which is vital in viral illnesses. 00:30:30.06\00:30:33.40 Okay. 00:30:33.43\00:30:34.76 In fact, we have studies showing 00:30:34.80\00:30:36.56 that if people are low in vitamin D, 00:30:36.60\00:30:41.07 that they actually have a much harder time in the hospital 00:30:41.10\00:30:44.21 getting over COVID. 00:30:44.24\00:30:45.57 Right, right. 00:30:45.61\00:30:46.94 So even in the hospital, 00:30:46.98\00:30:48.31 they're checking people's vitamin D levels. 00:30:48.34\00:30:49.68 And if people are low, 00:30:49.71\00:30:51.05 it's one of the things they're starting with, 00:30:51.08\00:30:52.41 because it has such a huge impact on our immune system. 00:30:52.45\00:30:57.25 T is for temperance. 00:30:57.29\00:30:58.62 Okay. 00:30:58.65\00:30:59.99 That is the exercise of self-control, 00:31:00.02\00:31:01.46 moderation in things that are good, 00:31:01.49\00:31:03.56 and avoiding all of the things that hurt our body. 00:31:03.59\00:31:06.39 Yes, it is. 00:31:06.43\00:31:08.66 A is for air. 00:31:08.70\00:31:10.03 Okay. 00:31:10.07\00:31:11.40 Deep breathing, good posture, fresh air. 00:31:11.43\00:31:15.57 I am living in California right now 00:31:15.60\00:31:17.41 in that huge Dixie fire that many people have heard about 00:31:17.44\00:31:20.01 started 12 miles from our house. 00:31:20.04\00:31:21.98 So we have been enjoying the air pollution 00:31:22.01\00:31:24.68 from that for over a month. 00:31:24.71\00:31:26.05 Right. 00:31:26.08\00:31:27.42 So fresh, pure air is such a blessing of God 00:31:27.45\00:31:30.39 and we must do all we can to enjoy that. 00:31:30.42\00:31:34.12 R is for rest, 00:31:34.16\00:31:35.89 something that Americans are really bad at doing. 00:31:35.92\00:31:37.79 Right. 00:31:37.83\00:31:39.16 Even though we may work less hours a week 00:31:39.19\00:31:41.26 than many other cultures and communities, 00:31:41.30\00:31:44.43 we have a hard time truly resting. 00:31:44.47\00:31:46.53 Sure. 00:31:46.57\00:31:47.90 Getting enough sleep at night, resting from worry and anxiety, 00:31:47.94\00:31:51.81 observing God's weekly day of rest. 00:31:51.84\00:31:53.88 All of those are aspects that impact our health. 00:31:53.91\00:31:56.28 Absolutely. 00:31:56.31\00:31:57.65 And the last T is the most important. 00:31:57.68\00:31:59.55 That's right. That's right. 00:31:59.58\00:32:00.92 Trust in God. 00:32:00.95\00:32:02.85 Trusting in God is the biggest stress, 00:32:02.88\00:32:06.45 anxiety and fear reliever we can experience. 00:32:06.49\00:32:10.13 And if we find that we're still struggling with those things, 00:32:10.16\00:32:12.99 this is an aspect that can be so helpful to us. 00:32:13.03\00:32:16.83 Spending time each day focusing on His promises to us, 00:32:16.87\00:32:19.93 His promises for health, for peace, 00:32:19.97\00:32:22.34 for all of the things that we need, 00:32:22.37\00:32:25.61 because that is what He promises. 00:32:25.64\00:32:27.28 So that's what NEWSTART stands for, 00:32:27.31\00:32:30.98 You know, of all of those, 00:32:31.01\00:32:33.72 there's some things we have more control over than others, 00:32:33.75\00:32:35.78 even though most of these we have some aspect of choice. 00:32:35.82\00:32:38.35 But I think one of the areas with the biggest impact 00:32:38.39\00:32:40.99 is the area of nutrition. 00:32:41.02\00:32:42.56 Right. 00:32:42.59\00:32:43.93 It's interesting to me that I found 00:32:43.96\00:32:45.39 some cross cultural studies. 00:32:45.43\00:32:46.86 This was quoted by Brenda Davis 00:32:46.90\00:32:48.60 who does a lot of work with diabetics. 00:32:48.63\00:32:50.70 And she has shown that 71% of diabetics 00:32:50.73\00:32:53.17 on oral medications can be off of them in two weeks, 00:32:53.20\00:32:56.81 if they go to a completely plant-based diet. 00:32:56.84\00:32:58.31 Right. 00:32:58.34\00:32:59.67 So it just says something about the impact 00:32:59.71\00:33:01.78 in one little area that these choices can have. 00:33:01.81\00:33:05.65 Amen. 00:33:05.68\00:33:07.02 So can we bring back up that graphic? 00:33:07.05\00:33:09.22 That graphic was interesting, the pathway to health. 00:33:09.25\00:33:11.25 So it starts with these eight laws of health, 00:33:11.29\00:33:13.36 these natural remedies. 00:33:13.39\00:33:15.46 And then take us down to this now and explain it to us? 00:33:15.49\00:33:18.23 Because sometimes in spite of all we do 00:33:18.26\00:33:21.76 trying to do our best, we may still become ill, 00:33:21.80\00:33:24.10 we live in a broken world full of sin. 00:33:24.13\00:33:26.57 And we can follow laws of health 00:33:26.60\00:33:28.94 to the very best of our ability, 00:33:28.97\00:33:30.31 it is not a guarantee that we won't get sick. 00:33:30.34\00:33:33.01 But when we get sick, God still has answers. 00:33:33.04\00:33:34.78 Right, absolutely. 00:33:34.81\00:33:36.14 That second step on our graphic 00:33:36.18\00:33:38.38 is the first level of intervention. 00:33:38.41\00:33:41.12 Right. 00:33:41.15\00:33:42.48 So we want to choose our intervention... 00:33:42.52\00:33:43.89 So we bring the graphic back up one more time, 00:33:43.92\00:33:45.25 so we can have the visual here. 00:33:45.29\00:33:46.96 We want to do these interventions 00:33:46.99\00:33:48.32 in order and they're additive. 00:33:48.36\00:33:49.69 In other words, we don't stop doing the top level. 00:33:49.72\00:33:52.26 But we add level number one 00:33:52.29\00:33:54.53 for the first level of intervention, 00:33:54.56\00:33:56.16 which is a therapeutic application of NEWSTART. 00:33:56.20\00:33:59.23 So let's talk about what that is, 00:33:59.27\00:34:01.34 because that's where a lot of the core 00:34:01.37\00:34:02.70 of what we want to share this. 00:34:02.74\00:34:04.07 Absolutely. Yeah, go ahead. 00:34:04.11\00:34:05.44 So as we look at each of the eight natural remedies 00:34:05.47\00:34:07.48 we just looked at, there are ways 00:34:07.51\00:34:09.28 we can apply them therapeutically, 00:34:09.31\00:34:10.88 that is in case of illness. 00:34:10.91\00:34:13.25 So it's like a high level application, 00:34:13.28\00:34:16.95 a more intense application, maybe we might say. 00:34:16.99\00:34:19.62 So for example, for the N, nutrition. 00:34:19.65\00:34:22.56 Examples of what we can do therapeutically might be 00:34:22.59\00:34:26.76 a couple of days of a fast, a fruit fast or a juice fast. 00:34:26.80\00:34:32.23 Maybe one or two days of a complete fast. 00:34:32.27\00:34:34.77 Skipping just a few meals 00:34:34.80\00:34:36.24 or maybe looking at completely eliminated 00:34:36.27\00:34:39.01 refined and processed sugars and oils from our diet. 00:34:39.04\00:34:42.08 Those are things that directly affect our immune system. 00:34:42.11\00:34:44.75 And so when we see that we're coming down with an illness, 00:34:44.78\00:34:47.98 these are things we want to check on. 00:34:48.02\00:34:49.35 Are we doing this? 00:34:49.38\00:34:50.72 Can we do something a little bit better here? 00:34:50.75\00:34:53.32 Absolutely. 00:34:53.36\00:34:55.16 You can get more ideas of how to apply these principles 00:34:55.19\00:34:58.26 of therapeutic nutrition and plant-based nutrition, 00:34:58.29\00:35:01.30 which for a lot of people is a new thing. 00:35:01.33\00:35:04.00 At my website, theharvestcook.com 00:35:04.03\00:35:08.54 At theharvestcook.com 00:35:08.57\00:35:11.14 I have recipes and information on this nutritional aspect. 00:35:11.17\00:35:15.18 So that is something that you might want to check out 00:35:15.21\00:35:17.85 if you want more information. 00:35:17.88\00:35:20.02 Let's move to the second one, E. 00:35:20.05\00:35:21.62 Okay. 00:35:21.65\00:35:22.98 Therapeutic exercise that might be physical therapy 00:35:23.02\00:35:25.92 in some cases depending on what our issue is. 00:35:25.95\00:35:28.46 In most cases of sickness 00:35:28.49\00:35:29.89 unless we are absolutely too weak, 00:35:29.92\00:35:31.89 mild exercise on a daily basis in the outdoors 00:35:31.93\00:35:34.96 in the sunshine is therapeutic and helps 00:35:35.00\00:35:38.67 to recover from illness. 00:35:38.70\00:35:40.50 In fact, they even found in the 1918 flu pandemic, 00:35:40.54\00:35:45.61 that the military found that when they 00:35:45.64\00:35:47.84 put their sick patients' beds outside 00:35:47.88\00:35:50.95 in the fresh air and sunshine, 00:35:50.98\00:35:52.41 they recovered better than if they kept them indoors. 00:35:52.45\00:35:55.35 So this is something important for illness, not just wellness. 00:35:55.38\00:35:58.55 Wow. 00:35:58.59\00:35:59.92 W, the therapeutic use of water. 00:35:59.95\00:36:02.32 Hydrotherapy treatments is probably 00:36:02.36\00:36:04.46 the most intense way to do this. 00:36:04.49\00:36:06.29 And it's a powerful set of interventions all by itself. 00:36:06.33\00:36:10.23 We don't have time to go into that here, 00:36:10.27\00:36:11.87 but I want to share a resource with our listeners. 00:36:11.90\00:36:13.64 Yeah. 00:36:13.67\00:36:15.00 And that resource is a website 00:36:15.04\00:36:17.91 called HydrotherapyHub.com 00:36:17.94\00:36:21.98 Yes. 00:36:22.01\00:36:23.35 HydrotherapyHub.com 00:36:23.38\00:36:25.61 is put together by people that I know personally, 00:36:25.65\00:36:28.38 that are experts in the field of hydrotherapy, 00:36:28.42\00:36:30.72 that have had much experience, 00:36:30.75\00:36:32.25 have a lot of science behind these treatments. 00:36:32.29\00:36:36.32 There's good research 00:36:36.36\00:36:37.69 that shows the effectiveness of these treatments, 00:36:37.73\00:36:40.16 and they can get training and more information 00:36:40.20\00:36:42.43 and resources about hydrotherapy there, 00:36:42.46\00:36:44.30 so I really do recommend that. 00:36:44.33\00:36:45.80 Amen. 00:36:45.83\00:36:47.17 Saunas are another way to do hydrotherapy, 00:36:47.20\00:36:48.77 saunas and Jacuzzis. 00:36:48.80\00:36:50.54 Interestingly enough, 00:36:50.57\00:36:51.91 I think it was about November of last year, 00:36:51.94\00:36:53.74 study came out showing that Finnish people in Scandinavia 00:36:53.78\00:36:57.65 had half the mortality rate of COVID 00:36:57.68\00:36:59.71 as their Scandinavian neighbors. 00:36:59.75\00:37:01.72 Now that's really interesting, because they share a culture, 00:37:01.75\00:37:04.09 they share a lifestyle, they share geographic region. 00:37:04.12\00:37:06.25 Right. 00:37:06.29\00:37:07.62 And the conclusion of the study was that it was quite probable 00:37:07.66\00:37:10.59 that the reason was that the Finns religiously 00:37:10.63\00:37:14.70 take saunas two to three times a week. 00:37:14.73\00:37:16.93 Wow. 00:37:16.97\00:37:18.30 There are enough saunas in the country of Finland, 00:37:18.33\00:37:20.57 for everybody in the country 00:37:20.60\00:37:21.94 to be in a sauna at the same time. 00:37:21.97\00:37:23.30 That's amazing. 00:37:23.34\00:37:24.91 Isn't that amazing? 00:37:24.94\00:37:26.27 I know therapy is powerful. 00:37:26.31\00:37:27.64 It is. 00:37:27.68\00:37:29.01 This is wow. 00:37:29.04\00:37:30.38 So S for sunshine. 00:37:30.41\00:37:31.75 We're talking about light therapy. 00:37:31.78\00:37:33.11 So sometimes getting extra light, therapeutic temperance. 00:37:33.15\00:37:34.78 Stop smoking is a really big one. 00:37:34.82\00:37:37.02 You can improve your lung function in just two weeks 00:37:37.05\00:37:39.32 of stopping smoking. 00:37:39.35\00:37:40.69 And that's a huge comorbidity for COVID. 00:37:40.72\00:37:43.26 Absolutely. 00:37:43.29\00:37:44.63 Therapeutic air, deep breathing exercises. 00:37:44.66\00:37:47.40 Do you need to do something 00:37:47.43\00:37:48.76 to purify the air you're breathing? 00:37:48.80\00:37:50.13 We ended up having to invest in some air purifiers. 00:37:50.17\00:37:53.10 Therapeutic rest, you might need extra rest. 00:37:53.13\00:37:55.34 With COVID, it's very important 00:37:55.37\00:37:57.27 not to get up and go back to work too quickly. 00:37:57.31\00:38:00.28 Even when you feel good, you need to rest several more days. 00:38:00.31\00:38:03.81 And last but not least, 00:38:03.85\00:38:05.18 a therapeutic trust in Divine power. 00:38:05.21\00:38:07.78 We have the daily connection that we want to make with God. 00:38:07.82\00:38:11.25 But cultivating an attitude of gratitude. 00:38:11.29\00:38:13.19 Yes. 00:38:13.22\00:38:14.56 Focusing on what you have versus what you're missing. 00:38:14.59\00:38:18.19 And even special prayer and anointing are always 00:38:18.23\00:38:20.66 to apply these eight natural remedies therapeutically. 00:38:20.70\00:38:24.07 If we're looking at relationship issues 00:38:24.10\00:38:25.80 that need to be fixed, I really recommend 00:38:25.83\00:38:27.70 looking into the use of cognitive behavioral therapy 00:38:27.74\00:38:31.01 trained professionals 00:38:31.04\00:38:32.87 that actually address how we think about life, 00:38:32.91\00:38:35.38 because that has a huge impact on our emotions. 00:38:35.41\00:38:39.18 Having professional Christian counseling that knows... 00:38:39.21\00:38:42.55 A professional Christian counselor 00:38:42.58\00:38:44.09 that knows how to use these techniques 00:38:44.12\00:38:45.75 can be extremely helpful. 00:38:45.79\00:38:47.42 So that's step two. 00:38:47.46\00:38:48.79 Amen. All right. 00:38:48.82\00:38:50.16 So let's go back to our graphic here, 00:38:50.19\00:38:52.23 because you're going to take us down here a little bit more. 00:38:52.26\00:38:55.00 So we've just went through step two. 00:38:55.03\00:38:57.90 So now what happens from here? 00:38:57.93\00:38:59.53 Now, actually, that was step one, 00:38:59.57\00:39:01.50 step two will be intervention 00:39:01.54\00:39:03.44 is using extra things like charcoal, 00:39:03.47\00:39:05.31 herbs and botanicals. 00:39:05.34\00:39:06.68 And you add that to the things we just talked about, 00:39:06.71\00:39:08.91 in addition to. 00:39:08.94\00:39:10.28 After that, if that's still not enough, that dotted line shows 00:39:10.31\00:39:13.18 where we might need to access the medical system. 00:39:13.21\00:39:14.62 Okay. 00:39:14.65\00:39:15.98 So we might need some medical diagnostics, lab work, x-rays, 00:39:16.02\00:39:19.22 do we have pneumonia, that sort of thing. 00:39:19.25\00:39:22.19 The next step after diagnostics 00:39:22.22\00:39:24.66 might be pharmaceutical interventions. 00:39:24.69\00:39:26.46 There are times when antibiotics are appropriate. 00:39:26.49\00:39:29.93 There are doctors that have developed their own protocols 00:39:29.96\00:39:32.13 beyond the scope of this interview for treating COVID 00:39:32.17\00:39:34.64 and other related infections. 00:39:34.67\00:39:37.14 You know, it's... 00:39:37.17\00:39:39.57 I want to make it really clear here 00:39:39.61\00:39:41.44 that I am in no way advocating not accessing medical care. 00:39:41.48\00:39:44.71 Sure. 00:39:44.75\00:39:46.08 That's a really, really important, 00:39:46.11\00:39:47.45 it's a gift from God. 00:39:47.48\00:39:48.95 It doesn't mean we should never access pharmaceutical products, 00:39:48.98\00:39:52.39 but we need to be informed about our options. 00:39:52.42\00:39:53.76 Absolutely. 00:39:53.79\00:39:55.12 And make prayerful choices based on our best understanding 00:39:55.16\00:39:57.96 of biblical principles. 00:39:57.99\00:39:59.33 Absolutely. 00:39:59.36\00:40:00.70 So those are the main ones probably 00:40:00.73\00:40:02.56 would we need to access 00:40:02.60\00:40:04.93 for probably 90% of our illnesses. 00:40:04.97\00:40:08.04 If I can just see the graphic one last time, 00:40:08.07\00:40:09.70 I'll just review those few steps. 00:40:09.74\00:40:12.47 So after steps three and four of intervention, 00:40:12.51\00:40:16.18 the diagnostics and the pharmaceutical interventions, 00:40:16.21\00:40:18.58 we have steps five and six, 00:40:18.61\00:40:20.12 which are reserved for more like emergencies, 00:40:20.15\00:40:22.12 or serious illnesses where you might need surgery 00:40:22.15\00:40:24.69 or some other medical procedure, 00:40:24.72\00:40:26.86 or even in some cases, storm therapies, 00:40:26.89\00:40:29.49 chemotherapy and radiation are options 00:40:29.52\00:40:31.16 that people may avail themselves 00:40:31.19\00:40:34.53 of in certain circumstances. 00:40:34.56\00:40:36.43 But those are things we should need very rarely 00:40:36.46\00:40:38.63 when you get down to the end. 00:40:38.67\00:40:40.07 So I think that as we understand this pathway, 00:40:40.10\00:40:43.54 that it gives us guidance in like, what do I do next? 00:40:43.57\00:40:46.91 Sure. 00:40:46.94\00:40:48.28 And this is God's principles of health in practice. 00:40:48.31\00:40:52.18 Absolutely. 00:40:52.21\00:40:53.55 So you have just... 00:40:53.58\00:40:54.92 You just dropped a bomb of information on us here 00:40:54.95\00:40:57.39 in this last half hour. 00:40:57.42\00:40:59.65 Let's kind of go through and give kind of a summary. 00:40:59.69\00:41:03.73 And maybe some final thoughts here 00:41:03.76\00:41:05.59 as we're getting toward the end of this segment here. 00:41:05.63\00:41:08.56 Just give us some final thoughts and a summary 00:41:08.60\00:41:10.87 of everything you just kind of broke it, broke down? 00:41:10.90\00:41:12.97 Okay. 00:41:13.00\00:41:14.70 Number one, let's remember the importance of prevention. 00:41:14.74\00:41:17.44 Sure. 00:41:17.47\00:41:18.81 That is of staying well. 00:41:18.84\00:41:20.31 Right. 00:41:20.34\00:41:21.68 As we exercise the eight natural remedies, 00:41:21.71\00:41:23.35 and we put energy and time into our social and emotional bonds. 00:41:23.38\00:41:28.52 Those are ways that we can preserve 00:41:28.55\00:41:31.25 the intactness of our immune system. 00:41:31.29\00:41:34.09 We find that, for example, 00:41:34.12\00:41:35.46 people with strong social systems, 00:41:35.49\00:41:38.26 a number of close friends, healthy family relationships, 00:41:38.29\00:41:42.46 a connection with a faith community. 00:41:42.50\00:41:45.13 All of those are things that greatly impact 00:41:45.17\00:41:47.80 the outcomes of any illness they might get, 00:41:47.84\00:41:52.41 for example, working with diabetics, 00:41:52.44\00:41:54.94 I've seen some really interesting research 00:41:54.98\00:41:56.44 where diabetics that have a strong social system 00:41:56.48\00:41:58.95 actually live longer. 00:41:58.98\00:42:00.32 Right. 00:42:00.35\00:42:01.68 And that's after you take away all the other factors, 00:42:01.72\00:42:03.65 like what treatment are they doing? 00:42:03.69\00:42:05.09 Are they changing their lifestyle? 00:42:05.12\00:42:06.55 Just having healthy social connections, 00:42:06.59\00:42:09.29 impacts their length of life. 00:42:09.32\00:42:11.69 So we must never ignore those things. 00:42:11.73\00:42:14.73 And sometimes those are harder to identify and to deal with. 00:42:14.76\00:42:20.14 In my work, I have had experience dealing 00:42:20.17\00:42:22.97 with many people that come to me for health issues. 00:42:23.00\00:42:25.54 But we find that actually, 00:42:25.57\00:42:28.34 it has to do with sometimes unhealthy patterns of thinking, 00:42:28.38\00:42:33.11 emotional management issues 00:42:33.15\00:42:34.92 that don't really know how to do that. 00:42:34.95\00:42:37.29 They may have broken relationships, 00:42:37.32\00:42:39.62 they may have trauma in their background, 00:42:39.65\00:42:41.46 and all of these things impact 00:42:41.49\00:42:43.93 where people are with health. 00:42:43.96\00:42:45.69 And we must be so careful 00:42:45.73\00:42:47.40 that we never judge a book by its cover. 00:42:47.43\00:42:50.90 You know, I think a lot of people 00:42:50.93\00:42:54.27 after they know health principles, 00:42:54.30\00:42:55.97 they know some of the things we've shared today, 00:42:56.00\00:42:58.37 they're like, well, this is what so and so needs to hear. 00:42:58.41\00:43:01.18 Right. 00:43:01.21\00:43:02.54 Or my mother-in-law really needs to be following 00:43:02.58\00:43:05.31 this path, you know, pathway. 00:43:05.35\00:43:07.95 And God didn't give us these principles to separate us 00:43:07.98\00:43:13.46 from one another. 00:43:13.49\00:43:14.82 He gave in to us to bring unity. 00:43:14.86\00:43:17.09 As we look to serve each other 00:43:17.13\00:43:20.13 with what we learn and what we know. 00:43:20.16\00:43:22.46 God blesses that. 00:43:22.50\00:43:24.27 And it brings healing not only to ourselves, 00:43:24.30\00:43:27.57 but to others that we come in contact with. 00:43:27.60\00:43:31.64 So prevention is huge. 00:43:31.67\00:43:34.24 We have to tap into the power of good personal choices, 00:43:34.28\00:43:37.35 and that source of power, which is God. 00:43:37.38\00:43:40.65 That's right. Absolutely. 00:43:40.68\00:43:42.02 Because that is a real key, even non... 00:43:42.05\00:43:46.52 even non Christian organizations, like 00:43:46.55\00:43:48.66 Alcoholics Anonymous realize that 00:43:48.69\00:43:51.26 power outside of ourselves is necessary. 00:43:51.29\00:43:53.66 The impact of very early aggressive treatment, 00:43:53.70\00:43:55.63 which we reviewed. 00:43:55.66\00:43:57.73 If you feel like you're getting sick, 00:43:57.77\00:43:59.17 start doing step two. 00:43:59.20\00:44:01.90 Actually, I'm sorry, the first intervention step 00:44:01.94\00:44:04.51 after the pathway to health. 00:44:04.54\00:44:08.08 And the third one is realizing God's gift to us 00:44:08.11\00:44:11.71 in allowing us to know more about prevention and treatment. 00:44:11.75\00:44:15.25 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:44:15.28\00:44:17.19 Well, I have to ask this 00:44:17.22\00:44:18.55 because I know we're getting down to the end of this, 00:44:18.59\00:44:20.29 but you mentioned that the nutrition aspect is huge. 00:44:20.32\00:44:23.06 That's probably where, especially here in America, 00:44:23.09\00:44:26.06 when you call it the Standard American Diet, the SAD diet. 00:44:26.09\00:44:30.53 A lot of people are not informed about 00:44:30.57\00:44:32.73 what they should and should not be eating. 00:44:32.77\00:44:34.47 You mentioned sugar earlier 00:44:34.50\00:44:35.84 and I remember recently watching a segment of a doctor 00:44:35.87\00:44:39.11 who was saying, you know, you really, really minimize 00:44:39.14\00:44:41.81 if not completely eliminate sugar consumption 00:44:41.84\00:44:44.28 because it significantly suppresses the immune system. 00:44:44.31\00:44:47.78 And like I heard this doctor say, 00:44:47.82\00:44:49.25 if you use so many grams of sugar 00:44:49.28\00:44:51.29 that you eat can suppress your immune system up 00:44:51.32\00:44:53.59 to like a half hour to an hour after you eat it 00:44:53.62\00:44:56.12 and your immune system becomes compromised at that point. 00:44:56.16\00:44:59.39 So talk about just for a moment, 00:44:59.43\00:45:02.13 what are some of the foods that we maybe should avoid? 00:45:02.16\00:45:04.87 And maybe the ones that we should probably add 00:45:04.90\00:45:07.20 to our diet in helping to increase in 00:45:07.24\00:45:10.01 and significantly cause, 00:45:10.04\00:45:12.11 you know, bring about a more stable immune system? 00:45:12.14\00:45:14.51 Oh, such a great question, Ryan. 00:45:14.54\00:45:17.15 Nutrition is one of those really impactful things. 00:45:17.18\00:45:19.71 So one of the... I like to have people add things 00:45:19.75\00:45:22.35 before they take things away. 00:45:22.38\00:45:23.72 Okay. 00:45:23.75\00:45:25.09 So add lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, 00:45:25.12\00:45:27.49 especially green leafy vegetables. 00:45:27.52\00:45:29.99 Okay. 00:45:30.03\00:45:31.36 Preparing them simply, steamed, 00:45:31.39\00:45:35.06 no oil, or very small amounts of oil are great ways 00:45:35.10\00:45:38.77 to really improve the nutrient density of your diets, 00:45:38.80\00:45:42.37 which enables you to have a stronger immune system. 00:45:42.40\00:45:46.68 So lots and lots of fruits and vegetables, that's huge. 00:45:46.71\00:45:50.35 The average American has very few servings 00:45:50.38\00:45:53.31 of fruits or vegetables. 00:45:53.35\00:45:55.58 And many people eat the same three fruits 00:45:55.62\00:45:57.59 day in and day out apples, bananas, and oranges. 00:45:57.62\00:46:00.59 But go to the produce section of your store 00:46:00.62\00:46:03.32 and fill up your cart with all the colors of the rainbow. 00:46:03.36\00:46:05.16 Okay. 00:46:05.19\00:46:06.53 The more colors, the more phytonutrients, 00:46:06.56\00:46:08.86 the more nutrient dense 00:46:08.90\00:46:10.23 and the more healthful your diet will be. 00:46:10.27\00:46:13.40 When we talk about avoiding, I think two top things 00:46:13.44\00:46:16.04 when we're looking at immunity are sugar and oil 00:46:16.07\00:46:19.04 because both of them work in our circulatory system 00:46:19.07\00:46:22.24 to slow down blood flow. 00:46:22.28\00:46:24.71 And perfect health depends upon perfect circulation. 00:46:24.75\00:46:28.02 So we want to do everything that maximizes our circulation. 00:46:28.05\00:46:31.99 And so those are probably two of the biggest things 00:46:32.02\00:46:34.92 and just staying away from refined and processed products. 00:46:34.96\00:46:37.13 Amen. Amen. 00:46:37.16\00:46:38.73 And, you know, you've mentioned like the hydrotherapy 00:46:38.76\00:46:42.00 and not only just consuming the water, 00:46:42.03\00:46:43.97 but also using water for prevention. 00:46:44.00\00:46:46.00 I can personally vouch for this because hydrotherapy, 00:46:46.03\00:46:48.67 I don't have a big tub or anything in my house. 00:46:48.70\00:46:50.41 But just simply doing contrast showers is powerful. 00:46:50.44\00:46:53.91 I went, myself and Danny Shelton and few others 00:46:53.94\00:46:56.11 went and played basketball a couple of nights ago, 00:46:56.14\00:46:58.18 and I came home and I just wasn't feeling very well, 00:46:58.21\00:47:00.82 I had really exerted myself, I jumped in the shower, 00:47:00.85\00:47:03.39 did the whole contrast shower hot and cold thing. 00:47:03.42\00:47:05.72 And it completely, I just felt so much better afterwards. 00:47:05.75\00:47:08.46 So hydrotherapy is powerful 00:47:08.49\00:47:10.69 following these eight laws of health 00:47:10.73\00:47:13.19 and also these therapeutic remedies 00:47:13.23\00:47:15.30 to improve your immune system is, is powerful. 00:47:15.33\00:47:18.63 And you know, there's maybe someone watching right now 00:47:18.67\00:47:21.24 that says, you know what?
