That was very... 00:18:54.73\00:18:56.06 You know, growing up, of course in the 50s and 60s, 00:18:56.10\00:18:58.23 Red Skeleton was on, you know, 00:18:58.27\00:18:59.60 as Clem Kadiddlehopper and all that. 00:18:59.63\00:19:00.97 Yeah. 00:19:01.00\00:19:02.34 Well in the 70s, 00:19:02.37\00:19:03.71 I'll take time out for a little story. 00:19:03.74\00:19:05.67 I don't know if I told you guys, 00:19:05.71\00:19:07.04 but in the 70s, I think it's like 75 or 6. 00:19:07.08\00:19:10.78 I was in Berrien Springs, Michigan. 00:19:10.81\00:19:12.75 Melody was about, I don't know, 00:19:12.78\00:19:14.28 six, seven years old. 00:19:14.32\00:19:15.98 She had watched him on TV and they said Red Skeleton 00:19:16.02\00:19:19.35 is going to be at Notre Dame. 00:19:19.39\00:19:20.79 And so from Berrien Springs that's 30 minute drive 00:19:20.82\00:19:23.43 or something, it's not that far. 00:19:23.46\00:19:25.23 So I said, well, we're gonna go down there. 00:19:25.26\00:19:27.00 I was shocked. 00:19:27.03\00:19:28.36 I mean, people came out by the thousands... 00:19:28.40\00:19:29.76 Oh, yeah. 00:19:29.80\00:19:31.13 You know, because by then 00:19:31.17\00:19:32.50 he was probably off the air far as his regular TV shows, 00:19:32.53\00:19:35.44 but everybody just loved him. 00:19:35.47\00:19:36.81 He was the kind of guy that you love, very patriotic. 00:19:36.84\00:19:39.41 If you ever listened to him, do the pledge of allegiance. 00:19:39.44\00:19:43.71 It'll bring tears to your eyes. Oh, yeah. 00:19:43.75\00:19:45.61 This guy was what's called a real patriot, 00:19:45.65\00:19:48.48 loved his country. 00:19:48.52\00:19:50.02 And so we... Melody wanted to see. 00:19:50.05\00:19:52.65 So I took her. 00:19:52.69\00:19:54.02 And so we watched him 00:19:54.06\00:19:55.39 and I remember one of the first things 00:19:55.42\00:19:56.76 he said, he said, boy, the people in South Bend, 00:19:56.79\00:19:59.36 Indiana, they're so friendly. 00:19:59.39\00:20:01.20 He said, I got off the airport. 00:20:01.23\00:20:03.00 I went to the park and he said, somebody yelled Red Skeleton. 00:20:03.03\00:20:07.70 And he said, people just started 00:20:07.74\00:20:10.24 crowding around me wanting autographs. 00:20:10.27\00:20:12.84 He said they were so nice. 00:20:12.87\00:20:14.21 I kind of felt bad I had yelled at. 00:20:14.24\00:20:17.88 That's Red Skeleton. Yeah. 00:20:17.91\00:20:20.32 He had brought attention to his own name. 00:20:20.35\00:20:22.52 So then the crowd were leaving, there's thousands of people. 00:20:22.55\00:20:27.62 So I tell Melody, if we go out this front door, 00:20:27.66\00:20:29.92 we're gonna be as all, let's just go around. 00:20:29.96\00:20:32.46 So I went like down, 00:20:32.49\00:20:34.10 went down almost into the locker room area, 00:20:34.13\00:20:37.47 trying to do a shortcut to get out. 00:20:37.50\00:20:40.04 And just as I was going, the door opened in the basement 00:20:40.07\00:20:43.14 and guess who was there? 00:20:43.17\00:20:44.54 Red Skeleton, and nobody knew he was gonna be there. 00:20:44.57\00:20:47.68 We didn't know he was gonna be there. 00:20:47.71\00:20:49.14 So there were several other people. 00:20:49.18\00:20:51.11 So probably 10 or 15 people. 00:20:51.15\00:20:53.15 So they all jumped in front and he said, 00:20:53.18\00:20:54.98 oh, Red, can we get autograph? 00:20:55.02\00:20:57.72 And he said, sure. 00:20:57.75\00:21:00.16 So he... 00:21:00.19\00:21:01.52 You know, again, there's 10, 15 of us. 00:21:01.56\00:21:03.43 So Melody is like, dad get his autograph. 00:21:03.46\00:21:05.13 I want his autograph. 00:21:05.16\00:21:06.49 I said, honey, I don't have any paper whatsoever. 00:21:06.53\00:21:09.76 'Cause he said, if you've got the paper, 00:21:09.80\00:21:11.43 so people would hand it. 00:21:11.47\00:21:13.00 So I reached in my pocket, all I had was a dollar bill. 00:21:13.03\00:21:16.17 So I tapped the guy in front of me. 00:21:16.20\00:21:17.67 I said, would you hand this up to 00:21:17.71\00:21:19.57 Mr. Skeleton to Red Skeleton? 00:21:19.61\00:21:21.81 And he said, sure. 00:21:21.84\00:21:23.18 So Red Skeleton, 00:21:23.21\00:21:24.55 he took the paper and he signed it too. 00:21:24.58\00:21:26.35 You know, people need to say here, 00:21:26.38\00:21:27.72 thank you very much. 00:21:27.75\00:21:29.08 And you know, here, thank you. 00:21:29.12\00:21:30.45 So he looked at, he said "Whose dollar is this?" 00:21:30.49\00:21:33.22 I said, "That's mine." 00:21:33.25\00:21:34.59 I says, "For my little girl." 00:21:34.62\00:21:35.96 He said, "Thank you, I appreciate it." 00:21:35.99\00:21:37.33 And he put it in the pocket. 00:21:37.36\00:21:39.86 And then he went on side 00:21:39.89\00:21:41.36 and Melody was looking at him like, 00:21:41.40\00:21:43.16 what is he going to keep that dollar bill? 00:21:43.20\00:21:45.27 So then he pulled it out and he said, 00:21:45.30\00:21:46.77 "Oh, I guess you want this back." 00:21:46.80\00:21:48.80 I said, "Well, I think she would appreciate this." 00:21:48.84\00:21:50.81 So then he signed it and gave it back to us. 00:21:50.84\00:21:53.01 But what a great, great guy. 00:21:53.04\00:21:55.14 And there's paintings, so we actually have that. 00:21:55.18\00:21:57.55 We have a real painting. We have it. 00:21:57.58\00:21:58.91 Okay. 00:21:58.95\00:22:00.28 So if you're interested in Red Skelton paintings, 00:22:00.32\00:22:01.65 there you go. 00:22:01.68\00:22:03.02 So... 00:22:03.05\00:22:04.39 You know, there's one thing 00:22:04.42\00:22:05.75 you were talking about, you know, 00:22:05.79\00:22:07.12 maybe if a widow has a... 00:22:07.16\00:22:08.99 Their husband's a guitar, this and that, 00:22:09.02\00:22:11.46 it's very sentimental and it's something 00:22:11.49\00:22:14.03 you want to hang on to. 00:22:14.06\00:22:16.06 But, and I understand that I have some of my dad's things, 00:22:16.10\00:22:19.30 but in the end, 00:22:19.33\00:22:20.67 this old world's gonna pass away. 00:22:20.70\00:22:22.04 That's right. 00:22:22.07\00:22:23.41 And if you can turn it in and let us make money 00:22:23.44\00:22:25.84 to support the ministry, to support spreading 00:22:25.87\00:22:28.84 the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. 00:22:28.88\00:22:31.41 It's great. Absolutely. 00:22:31.45\00:22:32.78 Yeah. Yeah. 00:22:32.81\00:22:34.15 We're gonna have to let go of everything. 00:22:34.18\00:22:35.52 Absolutely. 00:22:35.55\00:22:36.89 Now there are some things, 00:22:36.92\00:22:38.25 and I think of point you said for me to, 00:22:38.29\00:22:40.72 we wanted to make was, if you have something in doubt, 00:22:40.76\00:22:44.06 you're not sure. 00:22:44.09\00:22:45.93 Call first, call, ask for Bruce, 00:22:45.96\00:22:48.43 call donation department, 00:22:48.46\00:22:50.33 because there are things such as like clothes 00:22:50.37\00:22:52.93 that we really don't want to be sending clothes. 00:22:52.97\00:22:55.74 We're not in a position to handle clothes. 00:22:55.77\00:22:58.17 There's some other things I'm sure. 00:22:58.21\00:23:00.08 Yeah. 00:23:00.11\00:23:01.44 But you definitely, 00:23:01.48\00:23:02.81 if you're in doubt call, like in general, 00:23:02.84\00:23:05.88 people have sent maybe a few thousand records, 00:23:05.91\00:23:08.58 like older records. 00:23:08.62\00:23:09.98 Most of those wouldn't be valuable, 00:23:10.02\00:23:11.49 but if they were signed, 00:23:11.52\00:23:12.85 it was an Elvis Presley record 00:23:12.89\00:23:14.39 and it's signed by Elvis Presley. 00:23:14.42\00:23:16.02 It's worth some money. Right. 00:23:16.06\00:23:17.43 You know, if it's an old softball, 00:23:17.46\00:23:18.79 it's not worth much. 00:23:18.83\00:23:20.16 But if it's signed by the king 00:23:20.20\00:23:21.53 and his court, then authenticated, 00:23:21.56\00:23:24.60 then it's definitely worth something. 00:23:24.63\00:23:27.10 So other words, 00:23:27.14\00:23:28.77 there are things that we can't use. 00:23:28.80\00:23:30.34 Anything else in general that jumps out that 00:23:30.37\00:23:32.37 maybe people send a lot that 00:23:32.41\00:23:34.44 we're not able to use 00:23:34.48\00:23:35.94 or should they just call in out. 00:23:35.98\00:23:38.81 Yeah. The best thing... 00:23:38.85\00:23:40.55 The best case scenario is to just call 00:23:40.58\00:23:43.25 and let's talk about it and see if we can use it 00:23:43.28\00:23:45.65 or if we can't and then spare them 00:23:45.69\00:23:47.92 the cost of sending the item, you know, just in the item. 00:23:47.96\00:23:52.26 So, you know, we can talk about it 00:23:52.29\00:23:54.33 and they can get a hold of me through email 00:23:54.36\00:23:56.77 or call on the phone, area code 00:23:56.80\00:24:00.20 (618) 627-4651, 00:24:00.24\00:24:05.01 ext. 3078. 00:24:05.04\00:24:08.18 And that will bring you 00:24:08.21\00:24:09.54 right to me, and I'll talk to you. 00:24:09.58\00:24:10.91 Okay. 00:24:10.95\00:24:12.28 We've also mentioned this in the past several times, 00:24:12.31\00:24:14.08 but it always, it's good to repeat. 00:24:14.12\00:24:17.62 Sometimes when people send something. 00:24:17.65\00:24:19.32 it's been appraised, jewelry, whatever, it's been appraised, 00:24:19.35\00:24:22.19 and they say, well, 00:24:22.22\00:24:23.56 the appraisal's worth, you know, 00:24:23.59\00:24:24.93 says it's worth this much. 00:24:24.96\00:24:26.29 Well, what the appraisal 00:24:26.33\00:24:27.66 is for replacement value, like for fire or theft. 00:24:27.70\00:24:30.40 Insurance? Yeah. 00:24:30.43\00:24:31.77 And for insurance, 00:24:31.80\00:24:33.13 that's not the fair market value. 00:24:33.17\00:24:34.84 The fair market value is going to be 00:24:34.87\00:24:36.94 quite a bit lower than what the appraisal is. 00:24:36.97\00:24:39.84 And we like people to know that upfront. 00:24:39.87\00:24:42.14 No, that's a very good point because I remember years ago, 00:24:42.18\00:24:45.68 somebody sent a ring that 00:24:45.71\00:24:47.05 they said, oh, it's worth 25,000. 00:24:47.08\00:24:49.12 Really when we really had people look at it, 00:24:49.15\00:24:51.99 put up for sale, I think 5,000 was the most. 00:24:52.02\00:24:54.32 And they're like, but it appraised that 00:24:54.36\00:24:56.19 this jewelry is one of those things 00:24:56.22\00:24:58.69 that has a huge markup. 00:24:58.73\00:25:00.06 Absolutely. 00:25:00.10\00:25:01.43 As soon as you walk out of the stores, 00:25:01.46\00:25:02.80 it's worse than cars, automobiles. 00:25:02.83\00:25:04.17 It's worse. 00:25:04.20\00:25:05.53 You get a new one, you walk out, 00:25:05.57\00:25:06.90 then it's worth very little. 00:25:06.94\00:25:08.27 If you try it, try to give it back. 00:25:08.30\00:25:10.11 So again, those are types of things 00:25:10.14\00:25:11.71 you need to talk to Bruce. 00:25:11.74\00:25:13.17 If you got an appraisal on it says, he can... 00:25:13.21\00:25:15.34 You send him a picture of it or give him information. 00:25:15.38\00:25:17.98 He probably can get an idea 00:25:18.01\00:25:20.35 what it would be worth at least, 00:25:20.38\00:25:21.75 but you can pretty well be assured that 00:25:21.78\00:25:24.05 it's not gonna be anywhere near 00:25:24.09\00:25:25.62 what your appraisal for insurance might be. 00:25:25.65\00:25:27.16 Right. 00:25:27.19\00:25:28.52 And one thing people can be assured of, 00:25:28.56\00:25:31.29 we're gonna get the most that we possibly can out of it. 00:25:31.33\00:25:34.00 We're gonna do the research 00:25:34.03\00:25:35.70 and we're gonna do the legwork to make sure that 00:25:35.73\00:25:37.60 we get, and we pray over each one of these items 00:25:37.63\00:25:40.24 that comes in. 00:25:40.27\00:25:41.60 So do the best we can... What I really like is we had... 00:25:41.64\00:25:44.67 One time we had somebody 00:25:44.71\00:25:46.04 that pulled a trailer truck up here, 00:25:46.07\00:25:48.41 and it was full of every kind of doll 00:25:48.44\00:25:50.31 that you can imagine. 00:25:50.35\00:25:51.68 I remember. 00:25:51.71\00:25:53.05 A lot of them was not worth much, 00:25:53.08\00:25:54.68 but there was old Barbies galore 00:25:54.72\00:25:57.29 and old Barbie clothes. 00:25:57.32\00:25:58.65 Some of them still in their packages from 00:25:58.69\00:26:01.06 1959, 1960, 59 00:26:01.09\00:26:03.46 was when the first Barbie came out. 00:26:03.49\00:26:05.29 And I know that because I loved Barbies. 00:26:05.33\00:26:07.76 I know. 00:26:07.80\00:26:09.36 And Chatty Cathy, with a bunch of boys, 00:26:09.40\00:26:12.47 we weren't used to anything but baseballs, bats and gloves. 00:26:12.50\00:26:15.70 And then Tammy comes along. 00:26:15.74\00:26:17.37 There's Chatty Cathy. I don't know. 00:26:17.41\00:26:19.67 Mrs. Beasley, maybe was after you. 00:26:19.71\00:26:21.58 That was after me, yeah. 00:26:21.61\00:26:23.01 That was after you, but at least Barbies. 00:26:23.04\00:26:25.65 But we had these Barbie, 00:26:25.68\00:26:27.02 some still in the box, the 1959 box. 00:26:27.05\00:26:30.05 Wow. And just never touched. 00:26:30.09\00:26:32.65 And we had hundreds of them and we ended up, 00:26:32.69\00:26:36.02 I don't know, I want to say around 17, 18,000 00:26:36.06\00:26:39.39 that we got out 00:26:39.43\00:26:40.76 a lot of these Barbies and their clothes. 00:26:40.80\00:26:42.13 I mean, their little clothes still in the package. 00:26:42.16\00:26:44.17 Their outfits would go for $150, $160 on the internet. 00:26:44.20\00:26:48.07 Wow. Isn't that amazing? 00:26:48.10\00:26:49.60 It is. 00:26:49.64\00:26:51.11 So I love to get old Barbies and her friends, Midge and Ken 00:26:51.14\00:26:55.64 and all that when they're from the 60s. 00:26:55.68\00:26:59.38 Yeah. Well, that's the thing. 00:26:59.41\00:27:00.92 So many people keep that, like you say, 00:27:00.95\00:27:02.62 after a while you start looking, 00:27:02.65\00:27:04.65 you revaluate life and things, and that's the... 00:27:04.69\00:27:08.46 I mean, I'm talking honestly, 00:27:08.49\00:27:10.13 Yvonne and I was talking about the other day, 00:27:10.16\00:27:12.29 since we just few weeks ago, you know, I turned... 00:27:12.33\00:27:14.86 Hit the 70, you look at 00:27:14.90\00:27:16.56 your future different than you did before. 00:27:16.60\00:27:18.07 Sure. 00:27:18.10\00:27:19.43 'Cause before, well, I'm planning on what, 00:27:19.47\00:27:21.67 now you look and say, I'm planning on what. 00:27:21.70\00:27:23.77 I was thinking about, 00:27:23.81\00:27:25.14 I should replace the siding on the back of my house. 00:27:25.17\00:27:27.44 It's decent, but I thought I should replace it. 00:27:27.48\00:27:29.18 And then I said, for what? 00:27:29.21\00:27:30.81 You know, it's probably going to 00:27:30.85\00:27:32.18 last longer than I am. 00:27:32.21\00:27:34.45 So why bother with it. 00:27:34.48\00:27:35.82 You know, you think, 00:27:35.85\00:27:37.19 I remember my brother once said he went to... 00:27:37.22\00:27:39.32 After he hit 70, he went to get... 00:27:39.35\00:27:41.72 He needed new shingles on his roof. 00:27:41.76\00:27:44.43 So the guy said 00:27:44.46\00:27:45.89 now here we have the 30 year warranty 00:27:45.93\00:27:48.40 and said we have the 20. 00:27:48.43\00:27:50.23 And he said, was that all my choices. 00:27:50.27\00:27:52.60 Well, I have a 10 year, you know, 00:27:52.63\00:27:54.24 he said, that's all I need. 00:27:54.27\00:27:55.80 I'm 70 plus years old. 00:27:55.84\00:27:57.37 Well, actually he asked Bruce, 00:27:57.41\00:27:59.64 he said, what do you think 00:27:59.67\00:28:01.01 this needs to be replaced, and Bruce said, 00:28:01.04\00:28:02.38 you don't need the 20 or 30. 00:28:02.41\00:28:06.48 He said, well, you know what? 00:28:06.51\00:28:07.85 You're right. Yeah. 00:28:07.88\00:28:09.22 And I don't. Yeah. Absolutely. 00:28:09.25\00:28:10.59 So you do think differently. 00:28:10.62\00:28:12.32 So some of you at home, maybe you've had things 00:28:12.35\00:28:14.76 for many years, 00:28:14.79\00:28:16.12 but really what good is it gonna do? 00:28:16.16\00:28:17.93 And so we were just saying, you pray about it. 00:28:17.96\00:28:21.16 You ask the Lord, you say, 00:28:21.20\00:28:22.53 what is this I have in my hand 00:28:22.56\00:28:24.70 and takes us back to Fonda Summers, 00:28:24.73\00:28:26.97 Fonda summers I think she was about 77 years old 00:28:27.00\00:28:30.41 in her 70s, mid 70s in 1984, November. 00:28:30.44\00:28:35.68 And right after I was impressed 00:28:35.71\00:28:37.51 to build a television station to reach the world. 00:28:37.55\00:28:40.68 I think Larry Welch at the time was a literature evangelist. 00:28:40.72\00:28:44.05 He had come in as someone 00:28:44.09\00:28:46.15 from the area that Kenny metat lumberyard. 00:28:46.19\00:28:48.72 And so he took Bible studies and Larry joined the church. 00:28:48.76\00:28:51.29 So he became literature evangelist, 00:28:51.33\00:28:53.63 and a card filled out by Fonda Summers 00:28:53.66\00:28:55.96 that lived out East or West Frankfort 00:28:56.00\00:28:58.03 out towards Thompsonville area. 00:28:58.07\00:29:00.07 So he went to visit her, 00:29:00.10\00:29:01.44 then introduced her to my mother. 00:29:01.47\00:29:03.20 My mother invited her to prayer meeting. 00:29:03.24\00:29:05.97 And so the very week after 00:29:06.01\00:29:07.64 I'm impressed to build a television station 00:29:07.68\00:29:10.28 to reach the world, we go to... 00:29:10.31\00:29:12.51 I go to prayer meeting, which we didn't always do. 00:29:12.55\00:29:14.88 Still don't always, I'm sorry, 00:29:14.92\00:29:16.58 but we try when we can. 00:29:16.62\00:29:19.25 But, so I went to prayer meeting 00:29:19.29\00:29:21.22 and there was only a handful of people there at the time. 00:29:21.26\00:29:23.63 I don't know if there's a dozen and I was so excited. 00:29:23.66\00:29:26.46 I said, "The Lord has impressed me 00:29:26.49\00:29:27.83 to build a television station to reach the world, 00:29:27.86\00:29:29.96 blah, blah, blah." 00:29:30.00\00:29:31.33 Fonda Summers was there first time 00:29:31.37\00:29:32.70 she'd ever been in an Adventist Church, 00:29:32.73\00:29:34.24 Methodist Christian lady, wonderful lady. 00:29:34.27\00:29:36.77 So two nights later, 00:29:36.81\00:29:38.34 my mother calls me Friday night. 00:29:38.37\00:29:39.71 And she said, "You remember Fonda Summers 00:29:39.74\00:29:41.88 that came to church Wednesday night?" 00:29:41.91\00:29:43.75 I said, "Yes." She said, she called me. 00:29:43.78\00:29:46.55 And she said, she went home and she prayed. 00:29:46.58\00:29:49.05 She said, "Lord, I'd like to do something for those people. 00:29:49.08\00:29:52.72 And, but I don't have anything. 00:29:52.75\00:29:54.36 I don't have any money. 00:29:54.39\00:29:55.86 And I think it's your will that, 00:29:55.89\00:29:57.63 you know, Christian television station 00:29:57.66\00:29:59.49 sounds like a great idea. 00:29:59.53\00:30:01.36 I really wanna do something, 00:30:01.40\00:30:03.06 but I just don't have anything." 00:30:03.10\00:30:04.57 And she said, I'll never forget 00:30:04.60\00:30:06.77 the Lord impressed me, 00:30:06.80\00:30:08.40 "What is this you have in your hand?" 00:30:08.44\00:30:11.01 She said, "What? I don't have anything. 00:30:11.04\00:30:12.81 I mean, I got a few acres of property. 00:30:12.84\00:30:15.41 She said, I don't use property towards the back end. 00:30:15.44\00:30:19.48 Maybe I could give a couple acres of property." 00:30:19.51\00:30:22.62 So my mother said, Fonda Summer said, 00:30:22.65\00:30:24.82 and I'm like, "Well, where is it?" 00:30:24.85\00:30:26.79 I had been talking to Clarence Larson, 00:30:26.82\00:30:28.82 who was an engineer down at Marion TV station, 00:30:28.86\00:30:31.66 who's at Arizona's back then I think 00:30:31.69\00:30:34.66 they were new apple Commodore 64 00:30:34.70\00:30:37.03 or something computer. 00:30:37.07\00:30:38.47 And he was looking for ways to do uplinking, 00:30:38.50\00:30:41.30 which no one in the area did, 00:30:41.34\00:30:42.94 which means you could send signals 00:30:42.97\00:30:44.67 from earth to satellite 22,300 miles to space, 00:30:44.71\00:30:48.71 then back down into big 00:30:48.74\00:30:50.71 10 and 12 foot satellite dishes. 00:30:50.75\00:30:52.91 And he said, there's so many microwave interferences from... 00:30:52.95\00:30:56.48 He called at Mobil, Illinois, 00:30:56.52\00:30:57.95 like phone companies and others. 00:30:57.99\00:31:00.19 There are so many interferences. 00:31:00.22\00:31:01.82 There's very few spots. 00:31:01.86\00:31:03.22 But he said, "Out towards Thompsonville 00:31:03.26\00:31:06.43 he said about six, eight miles, 00:31:06.46\00:31:08.26 there's an area out there that looks like 00:31:08.30\00:31:09.86 it would be free." 00:31:09.90\00:31:11.23 So I asked my mom, "Where's this property?" 00:31:11.27\00:31:13.10 She said, "Well, it's out by north of Thompsonville." 00:31:13.13\00:31:15.77 And I said, "Really?" So we go out there. 00:31:15.80\00:31:17.91 And, of course, the long story short, 00:31:17.94\00:31:19.34 many of you know, she Fonda Summers gave us 00:31:19.37\00:31:22.24 two acres in the back of her property. 00:31:22.28\00:31:24.48 That two acres, when we got scientific Atlanta 00:31:24.51\00:31:27.12 from Georgia to come up, to see if it would work 00:31:27.15\00:31:29.98 where we could uplink and send microwave signals, 00:31:30.02\00:31:33.62 22,300 miles of space, they said it will work. 00:31:33.66\00:31:38.29 But at that two acres, you even had to move it. 00:31:38.33\00:31:40.63 We had to move it 00:31:40.66\00:31:42.00 to the east side of the property, 00:31:42.03\00:31:44.07 'cause it wouldn't have worked another... 00:31:44.10\00:31:45.50 There would have been interferences. 00:31:45.53\00:31:46.87 So that two acres, she said, Lord, He said to her, 00:31:46.90\00:31:50.47 "What is this you have in your hand?" 00:31:50.51\00:31:52.24 And she said, "Well, 00:31:52.27\00:31:53.61 I don't have it, just as two acres." 00:31:53.64\00:31:55.11 Look what that two acres of property turned into? 00:31:55.14\00:31:57.01 Exactly. 00:31:57.05\00:31:58.38 Then turned into a beacon on a hill, 00:31:58.41\00:32:00.48 out in a little bean field, former bean field 00:32:00.52\00:32:03.02 out in the community of less than 600 people. 00:32:03.05\00:32:05.82 And here mile or two out of town from that 00:32:05.85\00:32:08.46 and was able to literally send signals up to satellite 00:32:08.49\00:32:12.09 all across North America. 00:32:12.13\00:32:13.86 And then eventually from that same spot in '95, 00:32:13.90\00:32:16.63 I think it was, 00:32:16.67\00:32:18.00 we put in our first dish KU band dish 00:32:18.03\00:32:21.80 that would go to Europe. 00:32:21.84\00:32:23.17 So when Mark Finley did the 1990, Net 95 and 96. 00:32:23.20\00:32:27.28 We at 3ABN, we brought people translators 00:32:27.31\00:32:30.01 from all around the world, 00:32:30.05\00:32:32.38 different countries around the world 00:32:32.41\00:32:34.72 and built little booths for them in our buildings. 00:32:34.75\00:32:38.29 And they translated as this went live 00:32:38.32\00:32:40.72 all the way across to Europe, 00:32:40.76\00:32:42.22 down in Romania and to Russia, you know, Bosnia, 00:32:42.26\00:32:45.59 Herzegovina, Germany, 00:32:45.63\00:32:47.53 all of these places from this little spot. 00:32:47.56\00:32:50.07 What is this you have in your hand? 00:32:50.10\00:32:51.67 Happened to be the exact spot the Lord wanted 00:32:51.70\00:32:54.30 and designed and for this to go up. 00:32:54.34\00:32:56.94 So you may be the same thing. 00:32:56.97\00:32:58.67 What is this you have in your hand? 00:32:58.71\00:33:00.38 Maybe it's something you don't feel 00:33:00.41\00:33:01.81 it's worth anything, 00:33:01.84\00:33:03.21 but I will guarantee you that it is. 00:33:03.24\00:33:04.85 You pray about it and say, 00:33:04.88\00:33:06.21 "Lord, what would You have me to do?" 00:33:06.25\00:33:07.92 And then be sure you give us a call, 00:33:07.95\00:33:09.95 email us, text us, call Bruce, and we'll find out what it is. 00:33:09.98\00:33:14.39 And if we can use it for the Lord's honor and glory, 00:33:14.42\00:33:17.23 we definitely will do it. 00:33:17.26\00:33:18.59 That was such a miracle in itself that 00:33:18.63\00:33:20.40 this woman who visited the church 00:33:20.43\00:33:22.33 for the first time was convinced of 00:33:22.36\00:33:25.37 what you were saying 00:33:25.40\00:33:26.74 and what could she do to help when, 00:33:26.77\00:33:29.07 I'm sorry, some of our own denomination 00:33:29.10\00:33:31.81 was against it all the way around. 00:33:31.84\00:33:34.68 And here's this woman who doesn't know any of us, 00:33:34.71\00:33:37.15 but she was impressed immediately 00:33:37.18\00:33:38.91 that she wanted to help. 00:33:38.95\00:33:40.28 That was a miracle. 00:33:40.32\00:33:41.65 And it was, and she said later, 00:33:41.68\00:33:43.55 she said, you know, I'd forgotten about it. 00:33:43.59\00:33:45.25 But my husband and I had 00:33:45.29\00:33:46.76 owned this property for years. 00:33:46.79\00:33:48.79 And we thought about selling it. 00:33:48.82\00:33:50.16 She said, "I thought about 00:33:50.19\00:33:51.53 selling it after he passed away." 00:33:51.56\00:33:53.40 But she said, "I remember years ago 00:33:53.43\00:33:56.13 that I had a dream and I dreamed that 00:33:56.16\00:33:58.33 the back acreage," 00:33:58.37\00:33:59.70 which is what she ended up giving us. 00:33:59.73\00:34:01.40 She said, "Had a fence around it, 00:34:01.44\00:34:03.67 and the gate was open. 00:34:03.71\00:34:05.04 The most beautiful fatted cattle 00:34:05.07\00:34:07.18 came from all directions and filled up that property. 00:34:07.21\00:34:10.68 And all these years, 00:34:10.71\00:34:12.05 I've never known what that meant." 00:34:12.08\00:34:13.42 Now she said, "I know what that means. 00:34:13.45\00:34:15.42 That represents people 00:34:15.45\00:34:17.05 coming in from all walks of life 00:34:17.09\00:34:19.55 to find the good news of salvation through 3ABN." 00:34:19.59\00:34:24.89 And so here all these years later, 00:34:24.93\00:34:26.83 you know, Fonda Summers asleep in Jesus, 00:34:26.86\00:34:29.33 but how many people will have come to know 00:34:29.36\00:34:32.10 Jesus and the truth by what she was able to do, 00:34:32.13\00:34:35.07 by simply listening to the Lord. 00:34:35.10\00:34:37.41 What is this you have in your hand? 00:34:37.44\00:34:39.24 That gives me goosebumps to recite that dream. 00:34:39.27\00:34:41.88 But yeah, it was all meant to be for sure. 00:34:41.91\00:34:44.41 Yeah, absolutely. Okay. 00:34:44.45\00:34:46.55 Bruce, some of the things you mentioned that, 00:34:46.58\00:34:48.58 that we do accept and work out good, 00:34:48.62\00:34:53.36 as you mentioned, 00:34:53.39\00:34:54.72 coins or gold or silver platinum, 00:34:54.76\00:34:57.53 many things like that, jewelry, silverware like this. 00:34:57.56\00:35:03.50 Now, is that china over there? I don't drive it anymore. 00:41:56.31\00:41:58.65 It's in nice shape. 00:41:58.68\00:42:00.52 You know, call Bruce, let him know about it. 00:42:00.55\00:42:02.58 Again, instruments, whether it's guitars 00:42:02.62\00:42:04.49 or violins or mandolins or any kind of dobros, 00:42:04.52\00:42:08.32 as he said, you know, 00:42:08.36\00:42:09.69 any cello, we had a cello that was donated. 00:42:09.72\00:42:11.83 It was like a hundred years old. 00:42:11.86\00:42:13.43 Yeah. Yeah. 00:42:13.46\00:42:14.80 And I think that brought a few thousand dollars. 00:42:14.83\00:42:16.97 Kris Wilkinson of Nashville String Machine, 00:42:17.00\00:42:20.87 and who also has done a lot of projects with 3ABN. 00:42:20.90\00:42:24.24 I think she put us in touch with cello player 00:42:24.27\00:42:27.04 and they said, man, this thing's a great instrument. 00:42:27.08\00:42:28.41 Yeah. 00:42:28.44\00:42:29.78 And so they bought it and put the money again 00:42:29.81\00:42:32.91 right into the Lord's work, so... 00:42:32.95\00:42:34.78 Well, this is something 00:42:34.82\00:42:36.15 that's it's kind of off the subject, 00:42:36.18\00:42:38.09 but it's, it's kinda on my heart 00:42:38.12\00:42:39.52 if you don't mind. 00:42:39.55\00:42:41.92 Sometimes I know people and as well as myself, 00:42:41.96\00:42:46.09 sometimes you get in, especially as you get older, 00:42:46.13\00:42:48.36 you think, well, I'm not much good. 00:42:48.40\00:42:49.80 You know, I can't do this or I can't help somebody 00:42:49.83\00:42:51.77 like I wanted to or whatever. 00:42:51.80\00:42:53.94 And the Lord can work with you and use you in all aspects 00:42:53.97\00:42:58.04 and all works of life. 00:42:58.07\00:43:00.01 And I have a small side business 00:43:00.04\00:43:02.31 and I have these girls that work for me, 00:43:02.34\00:43:04.61 high school age girls. 00:43:04.65\00:43:06.21 And honestly, I guess we were sheltered. 00:43:06.25\00:43:10.55 I'm naive. 00:43:10.59\00:43:11.92 I never knew the dysfunction that goes on in families. 00:43:11.95\00:43:16.86 Problems. 00:43:16.89\00:43:18.23 The problems, the divorces, 00:43:18.26\00:43:20.56 the challenges over the children 00:43:20.60\00:43:23.97 and some of these girls come from those backgrounds 00:43:24.00\00:43:27.07 and it's somehow it slowly evolved into them 00:43:27.10\00:43:31.07 coming to me with their problems. 00:43:31.11\00:43:34.34 Some of them have been verbally abused, 00:43:34.38\00:43:36.95 things like that. 00:43:36.98\00:43:38.31 And they come and they're crying, 00:43:38.35\00:43:39.68 you know, and they come to me 00:43:39.71\00:43:41.05 and none of them have been raised in church. 00:43:41.08\00:43:43.39 And so that's my opportunity. 00:43:43.42\00:43:45.65 And, you know, to talk with them, 00:43:45.69\00:43:47.82 to pray with them. 00:43:47.86\00:43:49.26 And somehow it's just... It's nothing to do with me. 00:43:49.29\00:43:52.63 It's God working through me that it has evolved into. 00:43:52.66\00:43:56.13 It's like our house as my son Trent said, 00:43:56.16\00:43:58.33 our house is a hub where these kids are coming 00:43:58.37\00:44:00.74 and going and coming and going all the time, 00:44:00.77\00:44:02.70 you know, and talking about things. 00:44:02.74\00:44:04.37 And I try to help where I can. 00:44:04.41\00:44:06.94 And I try to talk to them about the Lord. 00:44:06.98\00:44:09.11 And many times when these problems come up, 00:44:09.14\00:44:12.81 I say, well, you know, this is why we have the Bible. 00:44:12.85\00:44:15.28 This is why we have the Ten Commandments, 00:44:15.32\00:44:17.39 because it's not for God to be happy. 00:44:17.42\00:44:20.06 It's to make us happy if we abide by these things. 00:44:20.09\00:44:23.29 If you'd go against this, 00:44:23.32\00:44:25.09 then things blow up in your face. 00:44:25.13\00:44:26.93 And you know, this is what happens. 00:44:26.96\00:44:29.23 And so I feel like that it has turned 00:44:29.26\00:44:31.70 into another sort of ministry with young people. 00:44:31.73\00:44:35.40 And five years ago, I could never have them... 00:44:35.44\00:44:38.11 I wouldn't even thought I'd want to do that, 00:44:38.14\00:44:40.04 you know, with young people, 00:44:40.08\00:44:41.41 but somehow it's turned into that 00:44:41.44\00:44:42.94 and I love these girls, 00:44:42.98\00:44:44.31 you know, like they're my kids. 00:44:44.35\00:44:46.01 And they know that. 00:44:46.05\00:44:47.72 And they respect that because, you know, 00:44:47.75\00:44:49.88 I try to show them the love, 00:44:49.92\00:44:51.42 but I talk to them about church. 00:44:51.45\00:44:52.79 I talk to them about the Lord. 00:44:52.82\00:44:54.16 I talk to them about what God wants with their life. 00:44:54.19\00:44:56.62 And I just wanted to share that 00:44:56.66\00:44:59.36 because there's many different ways 00:44:59.39\00:45:01.20 that you can do ministry. 00:45:01.23\00:45:03.16 When there's some, a lot of things you can't do, 00:45:03.20\00:45:05.23 but there's many ways that you can do much outreach. 00:45:05.27\00:45:08.84 Yeah. 00:45:08.87\00:45:10.21 And that's really good because so many times folks 00:45:10.24\00:45:12.37 who worked full-time in ministry, 00:45:12.41\00:45:14.71 you really feel like you've done your job. 00:45:14.74\00:45:16.08 Right. 00:45:16.11\00:45:17.45 But if we're working in ministry 00:45:17.48\00:45:18.91 and we're getting paid for it. 00:45:18.95\00:45:20.28 Right. 00:45:20.32\00:45:21.65 You know, and then we say, 00:45:21.68\00:45:23.02 oh, well, after 6 o'clock I'm out of ministry, 00:45:23.05\00:45:25.82 you know, I don't need to do anything for the Lord. 00:45:25.85\00:45:27.96 I work for Him all day long, 00:45:27.99\00:45:29.82 whether I'm running a camera or directing, 00:45:29.86\00:45:31.99 or whether I'm in the office work 00:45:32.03\00:45:33.36 or doing finances 00:45:33.40\00:45:34.73 or on air or whatever I'm doing. 00:45:34.76\00:45:37.03 But really this responsibility is while we're waking, 00:45:37.07\00:45:40.60 it's 24/7 whenever. 00:45:40.64\00:45:42.54 And people that we meet, it's our privilege 00:45:42.57\00:45:45.04 and our responsibility to introduce them to the Lord. 00:45:45.07\00:45:48.54 And that's a good thing. 00:45:48.58\00:45:49.91 Things like this and your side business, 00:45:49.94\00:45:52.21 I won't go into it for various reasons, 00:45:52.25\00:45:54.58 but the puppies you decided to get into. 00:45:54.62\00:45:57.55 And so the Lord has blessed that tremendously, 00:45:57.59\00:46:00.39 but you know, so all of us have a responsibility to do 00:46:00.42\00:46:04.36 what we can do for the Lord. 00:46:04.39\00:46:06.13 Some of you are saying, 00:46:06.16\00:46:07.50 I'd like to give some, I don't have anything. 00:46:07.53\00:46:09.46 Why don't you just remember to pray for 3ABN? 00:46:09.50\00:46:12.80 Because we are on the front lines 00:46:12.83\00:46:14.90 and people after all these years 00:46:14.94\00:46:17.21 are still people who resent 3ABN, 00:46:17.24\00:46:20.34 people who are anti-3ABN, but you know what? 00:46:20.38\00:46:23.51 I'm encouraged by that. 00:46:23.55\00:46:25.15 Because as I've said for so long, 00:46:25.18\00:46:27.15 if everybody loved me and everybody loved 3ABN 00:46:27.18\00:46:30.69 and everything I did and everything you do, 00:46:30.72\00:46:32.89 we must be not doing something right, 00:46:32.92\00:46:34.92 because the Bible says, 00:46:34.96\00:46:36.29 "All who live godly shall suffer persecution." 00:46:36.32\00:46:37.86 Right. 00:46:37.89\00:46:39.23 So when you're giving truth to a lost and dying world, 00:46:39.26\00:46:43.03 you're gonna have people object to it. 00:46:43.06\00:46:45.30 You're gonna have people offended by it. 00:46:45.33\00:46:46.80 You're gonna have people 00:46:46.84\00:46:48.17 who become your enemies because they don't want that. 00:46:48.20\00:46:51.37 They don't want the truth going out. 00:46:51.41\00:46:52.84 The devil doesn't want it going out. 00:46:52.87\00:46:55.04 So what I would encourage you to do for those of you, 00:46:55.08\00:46:57.55 you say, well, 00:46:57.58\00:46:58.91 I don't have anything I can give. 00:46:58.95\00:47:00.42 We appreciate your prayers, we covet your prayers, 00:47:00.45\00:47:03.02 because for those on the front lines, 00:47:03.05\00:47:05.22 you know, Greg and Jill 00:47:05.25\00:47:06.59 and all the others out on the front lines, 00:47:06.62\00:47:09.19 that the devil really is out to steal, kill, 00:47:09.22\00:47:12.46 and to destroy and you too. 00:47:12.49\00:47:14.40 He hates all of us that carry the name, 00:47:14.43\00:47:16.93 Christian, but we all can work together. 00:47:16.97\00:47:19.57 We all can help. 00:47:19.60\00:47:20.94 Some of you can give financially, 00:47:20.97\00:47:22.60 some of you can't, 00:47:22.64\00:47:24.01 some of you can donate things like this. 00:47:24.04\00:47:26.34 That's great too. 00:47:26.37\00:47:27.71 So Bruce, we just have a few more minutes. 00:47:27.74\00:47:29.78 What else would you wanna talk about? 00:47:29.81\00:47:31.15 I'd like to mention thanks to 3ABN CFO, Jason Bergmann. 00:47:31.18\00:47:36.18 We now have a new updated computer program system 00:47:36.22\00:47:40.16 that state-of-the-art, 00:47:40.19\00:47:41.52 and now what it does for people, 00:47:41.56\00:47:43.83 the donors is now that we can get those receipts 00:47:43.86\00:47:46.96 back out to them very quickly at once 00:47:47.00\00:47:49.53 we received their donation, 00:47:49.56\00:47:51.27 whereas before it was a period of time 00:47:51.30\00:47:53.60 before we could get them back. 00:47:53.64\00:47:54.97 That's good. 00:47:55.00\00:47:56.34 And but, and I'd also like to add the people 00:47:56.37\00:47:59.04 that do have donated items that has appraisals. 00:47:59.07\00:48:03.28 They should use those appraisals 00:48:03.31\00:48:05.05 for income tax purposes 00:48:05.08\00:48:06.88 if they have an appraisal on the item. 00:48:06.92\00:48:08.55 Instead of what we sold for. 00:48:08.58\00:48:09.92 Instead of what we sold for, 00:48:09.95\00:48:12.15 it would be to their advantage to do it that way. 00:48:12.19\00:48:14.22 Okay. Okay. 00:48:14.26\00:48:15.72 What else? 00:48:15.76\00:48:17.09 Anything you want to, for folks to know at home? 00:48:17.13\00:48:20.60 How the gold prices and the silver prices, 00:48:20.63\00:48:23.63 it's spot prices. 00:48:23.67\00:48:25.00 Yeah. So they can change. 00:48:25.03\00:48:26.37 Well, the spot prices change, you know, all the time. 00:48:26.40\00:48:29.27 Even as we've had this program, they're changing, 00:48:29.30\00:48:32.21 but gold has been up fairly high 00:48:32.24\00:48:36.24 for the last few months. 00:48:36.28\00:48:37.61 And it actually got up to $1,900 per ounce last month. 00:48:37.65\00:48:42.68 So you know, and the silvers went up too. 00:48:42.72\00:48:45.55 Yeah. 00:48:45.59\00:48:46.92 So those items that comes up, 00:48:46.96\00:48:48.42 I think silver's right at about, 00:48:48.46\00:48:50.73 while we're doing this program about $26 an ounce. 00:48:50.76\00:48:53.23 So... Yeah. 00:48:53.26\00:48:54.60 Silver and gold items is always welcomed. 00:48:54.63\00:48:56.93 And while it's, you know, 00:48:56.97\00:48:58.87 if you have these items right now, 00:48:58.90\00:49:00.37 so it's the time to get rid of them. 00:49:00.40\00:49:01.74 So... Yeah. 00:49:01.77\00:49:03.74 Wow.
