You know, we're talking about the donations and stuff. 00:09:22.36\00:09:24.39 And I just have to say, thank you. 00:09:24.43\00:09:25.76 We all have to say, just thank you. 00:09:25.79\00:09:27.53 Because you know, we see the $5 come through. 00:09:27.56\00:09:29.80 Last year, we received an envelope 00:09:29.83\00:09:31.40 with 99 cents in it. 00:09:31.43\00:09:32.97 Plus I think it was 55 cent stamp. 00:09:33.00\00:09:35.14 And that we know that there's a lot of sacrifice 00:09:35.17\00:09:36.87 that is made for the ministry, 00:09:36.91\00:09:38.24 for the gospel to go around the world. 00:09:38.27\00:09:39.77 And we thank you so very much. 00:09:39.81\00:09:41.14 And there are people just like Jeff Doerr 00:09:41.18\00:09:42.91 that are out there that have found truth, 00:09:42.94\00:09:45.08 and it's because of you. 00:09:45.11\00:09:46.45 And so, thank you so very much. 00:09:46.48\00:09:47.82 But as Jill mentioned today, we're focusing on evangelism 00:09:47.85\00:09:50.32 through Planned Giving and Trust Services. 00:09:50.35\00:09:52.05 We wanna go into some more detail here in just a moment, 00:09:52.09\00:09:54.02 but you have a scripture and then we have some music 00:09:54.06\00:09:55.66 that we want to go next. 00:09:55.69\00:09:57.03 Absolutely. 00:09:57.06\00:09:58.39 You know, as I think about evangelism 00:09:58.43\00:09:59.76 through Planned Giving and Trust Services, 00:09:59.79\00:10:02.46 you might be listening to this program and saying, 00:10:02.50\00:10:04.63 well, that's for more experienced 00:10:04.67\00:10:07.04 or a seasoned people. 00:10:07.07\00:10:08.40 If you're gonna be talking about wills and trusts, 00:10:08.44\00:10:10.51 maybe that's for people 60 plus. 00:10:10.54\00:10:12.34 But this is for all of us. That's good. 00:10:12.37\00:10:14.41 All of us, 'cause as Greg mentioned 00:10:14.44\00:10:16.11 at the beginning of the program, 00:10:16.14\00:10:17.78 we don't know what the future holds, 00:10:17.81\00:10:19.41 and it is our responsibility to make sure 00:10:19.45\00:10:23.39 that when we are gone, whenever that happens, 00:10:23.42\00:10:26.49 that those things are taken care of. 00:10:26.52\00:10:28.49 So what a gift, any age, 00:10:28.52\00:10:31.39 to be able to know that your finances 00:10:31.43\00:10:34.26 can help further the Lord's work. 00:10:34.30\00:10:36.46 So whether you're a woman or a man, 00:10:36.50\00:10:38.40 young or older, more seasoned we'd say, 00:10:38.43\00:10:42.54 that this program is specifically for you. 00:10:42.57\00:10:44.91 This scripture is from Luke. 00:10:44.94\00:10:47.24 Luke 6: 38. I love this scripture. 00:10:47.28\00:10:49.61 It says, "Give, and it will be given to you, good measure, 00:10:49.64\00:10:53.48 pressed down, shaken together, 00:10:53.52\00:10:55.82 and running over will be put into your bosom. 00:10:55.85\00:10:59.35 For with the same measure you use, 00:10:59.39\00:11:01.72 it will be measured to you again." 00:11:01.76\00:11:03.73 And we could refer to this with finances, and that is true. 00:11:03.76\00:11:07.23 But I think specifically with spreading the gospel, 00:11:07.26\00:11:10.57 when we give of our time, our talents, our resources, yes, 00:11:10.60\00:11:15.27 our prayers to help spread the gospel. 00:11:15.30\00:11:18.77 That blessing is gonna return upon us tenfold. 00:11:18.81\00:11:22.88 So what a gift. 00:11:22.91\00:11:24.81 Our music today is Scott Michael Bennett. 00:11:24.85\00:11:28.45 He's an incredible musician, pianist and singer. 00:11:28.48\00:11:32.02 And the song he will be doing is perfect for this. 00:11:32.05\00:11:34.39 It is, I love it. 00:11:34.42\00:11:35.76 With the theme of evangelism, "Go Light Your World." 00:11:35.79\00:11:38.23 There is a candle 00:11:47.97\00:11:52.01 In every soul 00:11:52.04\00:11:55.78 Some brightly burning 00:11:55.81\00:11:59.41 And some dark and cold 00:11:59.45\00:12:03.52 There is a Spirit 00:12:03.55\00:12:07.46 Who brings a fire 00:12:07.49\00:12:11.69 Ignites a candle 00:12:11.73\00:12:15.63 And makes His home 00:12:15.66\00:12:19.27 Carry your candle 00:12:19.30\00:12:23.24 Run to the darkness 00:12:23.27\00:12:27.01 Seek out the hopeless 00:12:27.04\00:12:31.18 Confused and torn 00:12:31.21\00:12:34.95 Hold out your candle 00:12:34.98\00:12:38.95 For all to see it 00:12:38.99\00:12:42.06 Oh, take your candle 00:12:42.09\00:12:46.93 And go light your world 00:12:46.96\00:12:50.93 Take your candle 00:12:50.97\00:12:54.50 And go light your world 00:12:54.54\00:12:57.34 Frustrated brother 00:13:02.64\00:13:06.51 See how he's tried to 00:13:06.55\00:13:10.42 Light his own candle 00:13:10.45\00:13:14.26 Some other way 00:13:14.29\00:13:17.99 See now your sister 00:13:18.03\00:13:21.60 She's been robbed and lied to 00:13:21.63\00:13:25.53 Still holds a candle 00:13:25.57\00:13:29.74 Without a flame 00:13:29.77\00:13:33.44 So carry your candle 00:13:33.48\00:13:37.58 Run to the darkness 00:13:37.61\00:13:41.35 Seek out the lonely 00:13:41.38\00:13:45.29 The tired and worn 00:13:45.32\00:13:49.12 Hold out your candle 00:13:49.16\00:13:52.96 For all to see it 00:13:52.99\00:13:56.80 Take your candle 00:13:56.83\00:14:00.37 And go light your world 00:14:00.40\00:14:04.41 Take your candle 00:14:04.44\00:14:07.78 And go light your world 00:14:07.81\00:14:10.88 We are a family 00:14:15.72\00:14:19.85 Whose hearts are blazing 00:14:19.89\00:14:23.12 So let's raise our candles 00:14:23.16\00:14:27.00 And light up the sky 00:14:27.03\00:14:31.03 Praying to our Father 00:14:31.07\00:14:35.14 In the name of Jesus 00:14:35.17\00:14:39.11 Make us a beacon 00:14:39.14\00:14:43.08 In darkest times 00:14:43.11\00:14:46.95 Carry your candle 00:14:46.98\00:14:50.89 Run to the darkness 00:14:50.92\00:14:54.62 Seek out the helpless 00:14:54.66\00:14:58.69 Deceived and poor 00:14:58.73\00:15:02.53 Hold out your candle 00:15:02.56\00:15:06.37 For all to see it 00:15:06.40\00:15:09.30 Oh, take your candle 00:15:09.34\00:15:14.01 And go light your world 00:15:14.04\00:15:17.81 Take your candle 00:15:17.85\00:15:21.78 Go light your world 00:15:21.82\00:15:24.75 Take your candle 00:15:27.86\00:15:31.49 Go light your world 00:15:31.53\00:15:35.96 Go light your world 00:15:39.57\00:15:43.87 Go light your world 00:15:47.51\00:15:52.31 Wow. Amen. 00:15:58.12\00:15:59.45 Thank you, Scott Michael Bennett, 00:15:59.49\00:16:01.22 an incredible song too. 00:16:01.26\00:16:02.82 Incredible talent, but what a message in song, 00:16:02.86\00:16:05.19 Go Light Your World. 00:16:05.23\00:16:07.16 And, you know, oftentimes we can say, well, look at 3ABN 00:16:07.20\00:16:09.40 what a big light they are around the world. 00:16:09.43\00:16:10.87 But you know what? 00:16:10.90\00:16:12.23 You are very important 00:16:12.27\00:16:13.60 because you make 3ABN's light shine, 00:16:13.64\00:16:15.10 but then you also have an influence in your sphere. 00:16:15.14\00:16:17.87 However, small or big it is, you have an influence too. 00:16:17.91\00:16:21.11 So go light your world. 00:16:21.14\00:16:22.48 Whenever God's put on your heart, go do it for Him 00:16:22.51\00:16:25.45 because tomorrow's not guaranteed but today is. 00:16:25.48\00:16:27.82 Again today we're talking 00:16:27.85\00:16:29.18 and I'm gonna be talking about evangelism 00:16:29.22\00:16:30.55 through Planned Giving and Trust Services. 00:16:30.59\00:16:32.95 And we're so glad to have Mr. Jeff Doerr, 00:16:32.99\00:16:35.32 the director of Planned Giving. 00:16:35.36\00:16:36.69 Good to have you here. 00:16:36.73\00:16:38.06 Jason, CFO, good to have you here with us as well. 00:16:38.09\00:16:40.36 And, sweetie, it's always good to have you here 00:16:40.40\00:16:41.93 by my side too. 00:16:41.96\00:16:43.30 It's fun to do these programs together. 00:16:43.33\00:16:45.17 But, Jeff, before we go into stewardship, 00:16:45.20\00:16:47.30 we want Jason to talk about that. 00:16:47.34\00:16:48.67 Just what are we going to talk about today? 00:16:48.70\00:16:50.04 Some of the documents that we may talk about here? 00:16:50.07\00:16:52.31 I have cash trust or? 00:16:52.34\00:16:53.71 Okay. 00:16:53.74\00:16:55.08 One of the ones we'll talk about. 00:16:55.11\00:16:56.44 Okay. 00:16:56.48\00:16:57.81 Charitable gift annuities, CRUTs CRUTs? 00:16:57.85\00:17:00.88 Ooh, CRUTs. What is that? 00:17:00.92\00:17:02.75 Someone may not even know what CRUTs stands for. 00:17:02.78\00:17:04.55 Well, we'll just take them and further 00:17:04.59\00:17:05.92 that to Jason in a while. 00:17:05.95\00:17:08.02 And then a self administer trust. Okay. 00:17:08.06\00:17:10.89 And then also you all think about putting 3ABN 00:17:10.93\00:17:13.70 as a beneficiary on your insurance policies 00:17:13.73\00:17:16.53 or on a, maybe a retirement plan 00:17:16.56\00:17:18.63 or even a mortgage account, 00:17:18.67\00:17:21.44 like a stock broker, including us as a beneficiary. 00:17:21.47\00:17:25.14 Excellent. Yeah. 00:17:25.17\00:17:26.51 It's a lot of stuff we're gonna be talking 00:17:26.54\00:17:27.88 about here in the next few minutes, 00:17:27.91\00:17:29.24 but we wanna talk about why. 00:17:29.28\00:17:30.61 Go ahead. 00:17:30.65\00:17:31.98 And I just wanna say, don't let your eyes glaze over 00:17:32.01\00:17:33.35 with that information and you might be saying 00:17:33.38\00:17:34.72 what's a cash trust? 00:17:34.75\00:17:36.08 What's a charitable gift annuity. 00:17:36.12\00:17:37.45 What's the difference between them? 00:17:37.49\00:17:38.82 We will explain all of them in detail, 00:17:38.85\00:17:41.29 so that you can understand and make it plain and easy. 00:17:41.32\00:17:43.59 So you don't have to just say, okay, that's pushed aside, 00:17:43.63\00:17:46.53 'cause I think sometimes 00:17:46.56\00:17:47.90 I'm the only woman on the set here. 00:17:47.93\00:17:49.26 I think sometimes women in particular say, well, 00:17:49.30\00:17:51.63 the husband will handle the finances, 00:17:51.67\00:17:53.34 let him deal with that. 00:17:53.37\00:17:54.70 And I'm not gonna deal myself with that, 00:17:54.74\00:17:57.21 but it's vitally important 00:17:57.24\00:17:59.74 that the woman are involved in that too. 00:17:59.77\00:18:01.54 And know what happens 00:18:01.58\00:18:03.04 and what's gonna happen for the future. 00:18:03.08\00:18:04.51 I'm glad you mentioned that, you know, 00:18:04.55\00:18:05.88 and even though I like finances and things, 00:18:05.91\00:18:07.55 you know, some of these terms and stuff are sort of like, 00:18:07.58\00:18:09.48 wow, I don't exactly know what all this means, 00:18:09.52\00:18:11.82 but we actually did a document here 00:18:11.85\00:18:13.19 a couple years back with 3ABN. 00:18:13.22\00:18:14.56 'Cause right, we're talking about it, 00:18:14.59\00:18:15.92 we might as well at least try it 00:18:15.96\00:18:17.29 so we can know what we're talking about. 00:18:17.33\00:18:18.66 And it was actually very painless, 00:18:18.69\00:18:20.03 very, very easy to do. 00:18:20.06\00:18:21.53 And it was a good experience. 00:18:21.56\00:18:23.87 But, Jason, tell us about stewardship 00:18:23.90\00:18:25.77 because we know it's like you said, 00:18:25.80\00:18:27.90 none of this stuff is ours, right? 00:18:27.94\00:18:29.70 All the things we have, our talents, our time, 00:18:29.74\00:18:31.77 our resources, it's not ours it's God's. 00:18:31.81\00:18:34.14 So the question we need to ask ourselves. 00:18:34.18\00:18:36.18 All right. 00:18:36.21\00:18:37.55 Are we an owner or are we a steward? 00:18:37.58\00:18:41.52 So when we think about what we have, do we own it? 00:18:41.55\00:18:46.32 We tend to think we own it, Jason, right? 00:18:46.35\00:18:48.56 So, or do we manage 00:18:48.59\00:18:51.76 someone else's money, talents, gifts. 00:18:51.79\00:18:57.07 So, you know, I think 00:18:57.10\00:18:58.53 that's where we need to really ask 00:18:58.57\00:19:00.50 who are we and who are we managing someone else's things. 00:19:00.54\00:19:06.07 And I think those of us who know Jesus 00:19:06.11\00:19:10.21 know that John 15:5 00:19:10.25\00:19:14.02 you know, we are just those 00:19:14.05\00:19:18.19 who just use things, 00:19:18.22\00:19:21.26 not for ourselves, but for others. 00:19:21.29\00:19:24.03 So as we consider, 00:19:24.06\00:19:26.59 you know, who we are and what we're doing, 00:19:26.63\00:19:29.63 and we look at the bigger picture 00:19:29.66\00:19:31.00 as far as our responsibility 00:19:31.03\00:19:33.17 as individuals here at a time like this, 00:19:33.20\00:19:35.87 as we were talking about. 00:19:35.90\00:19:37.57 It's very important that those things that we have 00:19:37.61\00:19:42.04 those gifts that we're given, 00:19:42.08\00:19:44.38 the education that we have, 00:19:44.41\00:19:46.51 the money that the Lord has blessed us with, 00:19:46.55\00:19:48.88 how are we gonna use it for ourselves? 00:19:48.92\00:19:52.19 Are we gonna use it for others 00:19:52.22\00:19:54.02 or in conjunction with the Lord? 00:19:54.06\00:19:56.26 So here's a great verse that's, that's wonderful. 00:19:56.29\00:20:00.20 1 Corinthians 4:2 we have to ask ourselves, 00:20:00.23\00:20:04.90 what is Jesus looking for in a steward? 00:20:04.93\00:20:08.47 Oh, that's a good question. 00:20:08.50\00:20:09.84 Have you ever thought, 00:20:09.87\00:20:11.21 what is Jesus looking for in a steward? 00:20:11.24\00:20:13.27 So in 1 Corinthians 4:2, it says, 00:20:13.31\00:20:16.28 "That it is required in a steward 00:20:16.31\00:20:19.15 that one be found faithful." 00:20:19.18\00:20:22.35 So in the Bible, the Lord is talking about, 00:20:22.38\00:20:26.25 I'm giving you a gift 00:20:26.29\00:20:28.52 and sometimes more than one gift. 00:20:28.56\00:20:29.92 True. 00:20:29.96\00:20:31.29 But then what do we do with those talents? 00:20:31.33\00:20:35.53 You heard about the talents, the five, the two and the one. 00:20:35.56\00:20:39.33 What did the first do? 00:20:39.37\00:20:40.70 Did they invested it 00:20:40.74\00:20:42.30 and they compound and they got twice as much. 00:20:42.34\00:20:45.81 Right. But the one decided to do nothing with it. 00:20:45.84\00:20:48.84 He dug it in the ground, 00:20:48.88\00:20:51.38 buried it and then waited for Jesus or for the... 00:20:51.41\00:20:55.68 The master to come. 00:20:55.72\00:20:57.05 The master, or the traveler, depending on the version. 00:20:57.09\00:21:00.99 What did they do? 00:21:01.02\00:21:02.99 So when the traveler came back or the master came back 00:21:03.02\00:21:05.53 and said, what did you do with my talents? 00:21:05.56\00:21:07.76 So the first two, what did the traveler or the master do? 00:21:07.80\00:21:13.34 Blessed them even more. 00:21:13.37\00:21:15.70 And I look at 00:21:15.74\00:21:17.07 that as Jesus wants a return on His investment. 00:21:17.11\00:21:20.68 He wants good stewards. 00:21:20.71\00:21:22.28 He wants those of us 00:21:22.31\00:21:24.35 who understand our purpose in life. 00:21:24.38\00:21:28.22 Those that don't understand decide to misuse or use it 00:21:28.25\00:21:33.56 maybe for themselves instead of blessing others. 00:21:33.59\00:21:37.63 So what happened to those? 00:21:37.66\00:21:39.79 It got taken away from. 00:21:39.83\00:21:41.23 So when we look at stewardship, many times, we think, 00:21:41.26\00:21:46.27 you know, we're just managing things that the Lord has given 00:21:46.30\00:21:51.07 for our use, but really it's not for us, 00:21:51.11\00:21:56.34 it's for the glory of God. 00:21:56.38\00:21:57.78 That's right. 00:21:57.81\00:21:59.15 And when you think of our talents 00:21:59.18\00:22:01.22 that we have right here, 00:22:01.25\00:22:03.39 if we just use it for ourselves, 00:22:03.42\00:22:05.89 what good would it really do? 00:22:05.92\00:22:07.82 It would do no good. 00:22:07.86\00:22:09.19 But now here we're trying to increase 00:22:09.22\00:22:14.23 those talents to share those talents. 00:22:14.26\00:22:17.43 And then, you know, that gets quantified 00:22:17.47\00:22:20.47 and blessed to a point 00:22:20.50\00:22:21.90 where the Lord can just compound it 00:22:21.94\00:22:26.21 to blessings beyond our own understanding. 00:22:26.24\00:22:28.98 Yeah. 00:22:29.01\00:22:30.35 You know, and I was thinking, Jason, 00:22:30.38\00:22:31.71 sorry to interrupt you there. 00:22:31.75\00:22:33.08 But I was thinking about, Jeff, you were talking 00:22:33.11\00:22:34.45 about, you know, far as the seventh day Sabbath, 00:22:34.48\00:22:35.88 keeping that holy, right? 00:22:35.92\00:22:37.25 Yeah. 00:22:37.29\00:22:38.62 'Cause you're thinking, oh boy, this is before you're baptized 00:22:38.65\00:22:40.12 Seventh-day Adventist Church member 00:22:40.16\00:22:42.26 you were saying, okay. 00:22:42.29\00:22:43.63 So our busiest day is Saturday, which is the Sabbath. 00:22:43.66\00:22:46.70 So, okay. 00:22:46.73\00:22:48.06 Well, you could try and justify that, say, okay, 00:22:48.10\00:22:49.43 we'll bring in a whole lot of income here. 00:22:49.46\00:22:51.20 And, you know, we'll be able to bless the Lord. 00:22:51.23\00:22:52.73 He's like, no, keep the Sabbath day holy. 00:22:52.77\00:22:55.00 So you said it was a little bit tough 00:22:55.04\00:22:56.71 because that was your busiest day. 00:22:56.74\00:22:58.07 Yes. Shut it down. 00:22:58.11\00:22:59.44 Yes, absolutely. But you haven't gone hungry. 00:22:59.47\00:23:01.24 I have not gone hungry. 00:23:01.28\00:23:02.61 No. And God has provided. 00:23:02.64\00:23:04.28 The God has provided. 00:23:04.31\00:23:05.65 He has blessed and, yes, right now, 00:23:05.68\00:23:09.25 Proverbs 3:5-6, 00:23:09.28\00:23:12.35 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart 00:23:12.39\00:23:14.36 and lean not on your own understanding." 00:23:14.39\00:23:16.99 Yes. In all your ways... 00:23:17.03\00:23:19.19 Acknowledge. Acknowledge Him. 00:23:19.23\00:23:20.56 It goes along with what you're saying. 00:23:20.60\00:23:21.93 Yes, and He shall direct your path. 00:23:21.96\00:23:25.03 So that's what we have done. 00:23:25.07\00:23:26.63 We've just relied on the Lord and He has directed our path. 00:23:26.67\00:23:30.31 Amen. No, that was really good. 00:23:30.34\00:23:31.91 You know, and I like this too. 00:23:31.94\00:23:33.27 Jason, I'll let you continue here. 00:23:33.31\00:23:34.64 This is talking about, you know, who owns what, 00:23:34.68\00:23:37.45 this, I found this morning, this is Psalm 24. 00:23:37.48\00:23:40.68 And it says, "The earth is the Lord's." 00:23:40.72\00:23:42.75 So we live on earth, don't we, on planet earth? 00:23:42.78\00:23:44.45 Yes. 00:23:44.49\00:23:45.82 So it says, "The earth is the Lord's 00:23:45.85\00:23:47.42 and everything in it, 00:23:47.46\00:23:48.79 the world and they that dwell there in." 00:23:48.82\00:23:51.76 And it's so funny, we as human beings, 00:23:51.79\00:23:53.40 'cause I've found myself in this too, 00:23:53.43\00:23:54.76 like, oh, you know, this is mine. 00:23:54.80\00:23:56.13 And you know, this is mine and that's yours 00:23:56.16\00:23:58.23 and you know what? 00:23:58.27\00:23:59.60 Everything is God's. 00:23:59.63\00:24:00.97 And I remember when I was a small child, 00:24:01.00\00:24:02.34 my dad would say, you know what, son, 00:24:02.37\00:24:03.71 you were just loaned to your mother and I. 00:24:03.74\00:24:05.44 He said, you're God's child. 00:24:05.47\00:24:07.11 He said, He basically brought you 00:24:07.14\00:24:09.64 into existence to, right? 00:24:09.68\00:24:11.01 We're all the miracle of the Lord. 00:24:11.05\00:24:12.38 And so, you know, 00:24:12.41\00:24:13.75 it's just like, everything is God. 00:24:13.78\00:24:15.32 So I love the stewardship aspect, Jason, 00:24:15.35\00:24:17.39 because, so oftentimes we think everything is under our control 00:24:17.42\00:24:20.79 and we manage everything. 00:24:20.82\00:24:22.89 Well, we manage things for God. 00:24:22.92\00:24:24.46 It's not our own. So yeah, it's fantastic. 00:24:24.49\00:24:26.90 What's interesting too, is as we grow in our maturity. 00:24:26.93\00:24:32.03 Yes. 00:24:32.07\00:24:33.40 I think we realized too, 00:24:33.44\00:24:34.97 or I'm starting to realize that, 00:24:35.00\00:24:37.54 you know, there's a time for everything, the Bible says. 00:24:37.57\00:24:40.44 So you know, as you grow up and mature, 00:24:40.48\00:24:44.21 you're building things up and your supplies 00:24:44.25\00:24:48.55 and those things that the Lord has blessed you, 00:24:48.58\00:24:50.82 but then you realize, you know, what is it for? 00:24:50.85\00:24:53.76 Is it for me? Is it for my brothers? 00:24:53.79\00:24:56.26 Is it for my family? 00:24:56.29\00:24:57.69 Am I gonna leave a legacy 00:24:57.73\00:25:00.16 to those that will come after me? 00:25:00.20\00:25:03.57 Or do I just share it with everyone? 00:25:03.60\00:25:07.07 And I think that's where we really need to consider 00:25:07.10\00:25:09.94 what is our purpose with those things that we have. 00:25:09.97\00:25:13.68 And I think the more we consider those things, 00:25:13.71\00:25:16.71 I remember R.G. LeTourneau. 00:25:16.75\00:25:19.61 He was a businessman and he decided 00:25:19.65\00:25:22.58 he was going to be a businessman for God. 00:25:22.62\00:25:25.15 And he quipped by saying that the more I give to God, 00:25:25.19\00:25:30.39 the more He returns to me. 00:25:30.43\00:25:32.53 And he says, you know, I just shovel it in 00:25:32.56\00:25:35.16 and the Lord shovels it back. 00:25:35.20\00:25:37.37 And he goes, there's one difference. 00:25:37.40\00:25:39.63 The Lord has a bigger shovel. 00:25:39.67\00:25:43.07 So many people think that, oh, you know, I can't give, 00:25:43.10\00:25:47.54 because I'm gonna lose out. 00:25:47.58\00:25:49.34 I'm gonna miss that opportunity. 00:25:49.38\00:25:51.48 But you have to remember that Jesus is looking 00:25:51.51\00:25:54.92 for that faithful steward. 00:25:54.95\00:25:57.52 He's looking to have a return on investment. 00:25:57.55\00:26:00.96 And the other thing is 00:26:00.99\00:26:02.32 that I thought was kind of interesting 00:26:02.36\00:26:04.49 if you look at Jesus as an investor. 00:26:04.53\00:26:07.00 Okay. Okay. 00:26:07.03\00:26:09.26 That He is gonna want a good return 00:26:09.30\00:26:11.53 on His investment. 00:26:11.57\00:26:12.90 Right? 00:26:12.93\00:26:14.27 I mean, because if God knows everything, 00:26:14.30\00:26:17.84 He wants those of us that are good stewards. 00:26:17.87\00:26:22.08 And if we return back to Him, 00:26:22.11\00:26:24.18 that's a return on His investment in us. 00:26:24.21\00:26:26.72 And the more we return, the more He gives, 00:26:26.75\00:26:29.12 the more He knows that we're gonna share with Him. 00:26:29.15\00:26:32.25 So that's an awesome opportunity 00:26:32.29\00:26:33.99 that we have 00:26:34.02\00:26:35.36 is to give up what we have for the Lord and for others, 00:26:35.39\00:26:40.83 because the more we see other people blessed by it, 00:26:40.86\00:26:44.50 I think that's the richer blessing that we receive 00:26:44.53\00:26:47.54 is when we see other people excited 00:26:47.57\00:26:50.27 about what the Lord has done through us. 00:26:50.31\00:26:52.74 Amen. That's really powerful. 00:26:52.77\00:26:54.78 My question now is, okay, 00:26:54.81\00:26:56.51 we understand that stewardship is important. 00:26:56.54\00:26:58.55 We understand that we are called to be stewards 00:26:58.58\00:27:01.45 and we manage the Lord's resources. 00:27:01.48\00:27:03.69 We understand that investment's important, 00:27:03.72\00:27:06.15 but why invest with 3ABN? 00:27:06.19\00:27:09.12 Why write a document with 3ABN? 00:27:09.16\00:27:12.23 Why I could give my money anywhere, right? 00:27:12.26\00:27:15.83 What is the benefit or how will it help evangelism 00:27:15.86\00:27:20.14 to do something with the Ministry of 3ABN? 00:27:20.17\00:27:23.97 Part of whatever you take and invest with 3ABN, 00:27:24.01\00:27:27.84 you're investing with the Lord 00:27:27.88\00:27:29.61 and a portion of that will go to His 00:27:29.64\00:27:32.95 spreading the gospel throughout the world. 00:27:32.98\00:27:35.48 So you can dedicate a small amount 00:27:35.52\00:27:38.22 of what you're investing, 00:27:38.25\00:27:39.62 or some people dedicate the entire balance 00:27:39.65\00:27:42.16 if they're at the end of their life. 00:27:42.19\00:27:44.13 So you are investing for yourself 00:27:44.16\00:27:47.53 and for the gospel, spreading the gospel. 00:27:47.56\00:27:50.87 You know, I think what is important to us, 00:27:50.90\00:27:53.74 what is important to me as an individual. 00:27:53.77\00:27:56.30 And I think when we look at the age 00:27:56.34\00:27:58.84 that we're living in, it's time to, 00:27:58.87\00:28:01.81 you know, not only share with what we have, 00:28:01.84\00:28:04.85 but also to give back. 00:28:04.88\00:28:07.12 And when I look at 3ABN, I look at what an opportunity 00:28:07.15\00:28:10.55 we have here at 3ABN to share the gospel and to use 00:28:10.59\00:28:14.12 these resources to millions of people around the world. 00:28:14.16\00:28:18.23 And I think what Jeff was saying was perfect 00:28:18.26\00:28:21.43 because, you know, a portion of what you give to 3ABN 00:28:21.46\00:28:25.60 goes to spread the gospel. 00:28:27.04\00:28:28.57 It does. 00:28:28.60\00:28:29.94 And what an amazing mission opportunity we have. 00:28:29.97\00:28:33.24 I'm just gonna tweak that one moment, 00:28:33.27\00:28:36.11 all of what you give to 3ABN goes to spread the gospel, 00:28:36.14\00:28:38.91 but you can choose a certain portion to go to 3ABN. 00:28:38.95\00:28:42.65 And then you can say, I want some to my children 00:28:42.68\00:28:44.99 or grandchildren or whatever you can spread that out, 00:28:45.02\00:28:47.32 but all of what you give to 3ABN 00:28:47.36\00:28:49.12 will go to help spread the gospel, 00:28:49.16\00:28:50.49 which I know is exactly what you meant. 00:28:50.53\00:28:51.86 Yeah. 00:28:51.89\00:28:53.23 You know I look more in a holistic, 00:28:53.26\00:28:54.80 because Trust Services has been in my blood for a few years. 00:28:54.83\00:28:58.13 Yeah, long time. Yeah. 00:28:58.17\00:28:59.50 I mean it's always good to remember family, 00:28:59.53\00:29:02.84 but when you give to 3ABN, 00:29:02.87\00:29:05.14 I can tell you that 3ABN uses your money 00:29:05.17\00:29:09.88 very respectfully and considers our resources. 00:29:09.91\00:29:15.75 And because of you, we're able to spread the gospel 00:29:15.78\00:29:19.59 and we use it very efficiently. 00:29:19.62\00:29:21.29 Oh, yes. 00:29:21.32\00:29:22.66 Yes, I think, it's being part of the good steward, 00:29:22.69\00:29:24.19 you know, 3ABN have to be good stewards of the funds 00:29:24.23\00:29:27.20 that God sends to the ministry through you. 00:29:27.23\00:29:30.47 So I know time's getting away from us here, 00:29:30.50\00:29:32.23 so let's just go down then the list 00:29:32.27\00:29:33.64 of the different documents. 00:29:33.67\00:29:35.60 Let's, should we start with cash trust? 00:29:35.64\00:29:38.37 So when we say cash trust, what does that mean? 00:29:38.41\00:29:41.51 So cash trust. 00:29:41.54\00:29:42.88 Well, and also taking a little groundwork. 00:29:42.91\00:29:45.11 Sure. 00:29:45.15\00:29:46.48 Different documents fit different age groups. 00:29:46.51\00:29:48.52 Okay. Sure. 00:29:48.55\00:29:49.88 And a cash trust actually fits all age groups 00:29:49.92\00:29:52.95 that are gainfully employed or with, have finances. 00:29:52.99\00:29:57.06 Okay. 00:29:57.09\00:29:58.43 Our cash trusts have been producing a much stronger 00:29:58.46\00:30:01.76 return on investment than in the bank 00:30:01.80\00:30:03.87 on a savings account or a CD. 00:30:03.90\00:30:05.97 Okay. 00:30:06.00\00:30:07.34 So it can be started with a minimum of $10,000 00:30:07.37\00:30:10.27 for one person or 20,000 for a couple. 00:30:10.31\00:30:12.61 Okay. You can add to it at any time. 00:30:12.64\00:30:15.74 And also you can take in withdrawal out of that account 00:30:15.78\00:30:18.81 for your own personal needs throughout the years. 00:30:18.85\00:30:20.82 Okay. 00:30:20.85\00:30:22.18 And if you take and leave that in there and let it accrue, 00:30:22.22\00:30:24.62 and it grows. 00:30:24.65\00:30:25.99 And whenever you become a senior 00:30:26.02\00:30:28.09 and possibly you are not able to live at home anymore, 00:30:28.12\00:30:31.79 those funds that are in your cash trust, 00:30:31.83\00:30:34.50 and you go to a seniors living facility, 00:30:34.53\00:30:37.37 they can send your monthly invoice to us 00:30:37.40\00:30:40.80 and we can take and pay out 00:30:40.84\00:30:43.10 your monthly expenses out of your cash trust. 00:30:43.14\00:30:46.14 Wow. 00:30:46.17\00:30:47.51 So that is a benefit for you 00:30:47.54\00:30:49.31 whenever you get to that point in life. 00:30:49.34\00:30:51.11 Okay. 00:30:51.15\00:30:52.48 So how is that? Go ahead. Yeah. 00:30:52.51\00:30:53.85 What I like about the cash trust too, is it's revocable. 00:30:53.88\00:30:56.65 So any time you know, life changes, things happen, 00:30:56.69\00:31:01.69 but you can just withdraw the money for, 00:31:01.72\00:31:05.79 you know, those purposes in life. 00:31:05.83\00:31:07.20 But I like what Jeff said is it is an instrument 00:31:07.23\00:31:10.87 for all ages that earns a really good interest 00:31:10.90\00:31:13.74 that you can take the money out at any time. 00:31:13.77\00:31:16.50 And it's a great tool 00:31:16.54\00:31:19.71 and you can look at it as a tool in a toolbox. 00:31:19.74\00:31:22.41 That this tool is for all ages 00:31:22.44\00:31:24.75 and it's very versatile 00:31:24.78\00:31:27.52 and it earns a very good interest 00:31:27.55\00:31:30.12 especially with the market we're living in now. 00:31:30.15\00:31:33.22 And it's a great way... 00:31:33.25\00:31:34.82 It depends on the market 00:31:34.86\00:31:36.19 as far as what the interest would be. 00:31:36.22\00:31:37.56 And it's a great way to invest your money with 3ABN. 00:31:37.59\00:31:40.53 Amen. 00:31:40.56\00:31:41.90 Now we mentioned, I just wanna bring up this caveat. 00:31:41.93\00:31:44.17 We mentioned it is irrevocable, which it is, 00:31:44.20\00:31:46.33 but there is a certain point where the cash... 00:31:46.37\00:31:48.44 It is revocable. Sorry. It is revocable. 00:31:48.47\00:31:50.44 That's what I meant to say. Thank you... 00:31:50.47\00:31:52.47 Which means that at any time you can change your mind 00:31:52.51\00:31:55.21 You can cancel, you can withdraw 00:31:55.24\00:31:56.68 those funds out, but there is a certain point 00:31:56.71\00:31:58.91 where it would become irrevocable 00:31:58.95\00:32:01.15 When would that point be? 00:32:01.18\00:32:03.45 So you wanna Yeah, go ahead, Jeff. 00:32:03.49\00:32:04.92 Whenever you are not able to make good decisions. 00:32:04.95\00:32:08.19 Okay. 00:32:08.22\00:32:09.56 If you take and would pass, it is irrevocable. 00:32:09.59\00:32:13.06 If you are diagnosed with a dementia 00:32:13.09\00:32:15.53 and the doctor says you are not able to make good decisions, 00:32:15.56\00:32:18.77 it's irrevocable. 00:32:18.80\00:32:20.57 But until that point, it would be revocable, 00:32:20.60\00:32:23.14 so, okay. 00:32:23.17\00:32:24.51 And that's what's nice about that tool 00:32:24.54\00:32:25.87 is because it's already set in place. 00:32:25.91\00:32:28.38 So if something happens to you, 00:32:28.41\00:32:30.71 you know, Greg, you said that 00:32:30.75\00:32:32.55 if we get into a car accident and something happens to us, 00:32:32.58\00:32:36.32 will then that cash trust based on how it's written, 00:32:36.35\00:32:40.09 will go and continue the service 00:32:40.12\00:32:42.06 that it's designed for. 00:32:42.09\00:32:43.43 So question there, 00:32:43.46\00:32:44.79 because we're talking about blessing, 00:32:44.83\00:32:46.16 you know, the Ministry of 3ABN. 00:32:46.19\00:32:47.53 So how does this document far as trust 00:32:47.56\00:32:49.36 or the cash trust then help? 00:32:49.40\00:32:51.07 Because I know, 00:32:51.10\00:32:52.43 there's a minimum on the percentage 00:32:52.47\00:32:53.80 that would go to 3ABN. 00:32:53.84\00:32:55.17 So just for the sake of, let's just say... 00:32:55.20\00:32:57.34 This is... Twenty five percent. 00:32:57.37\00:32:58.71 Twenty five percent. Okay. 00:32:58.74\00:33:00.08 Yes. Would, is the minimum? 00:33:00.11\00:33:01.58 Is the minimum when you initially sign up 00:33:01.61\00:33:04.01 your cash trust. 00:33:04.05\00:33:05.38 But if like Jason said in the course of time, 00:33:05.41\00:33:07.98 if life circumstances change, you have a change of heart, 00:33:08.02\00:33:11.99 you can withdraw the entire amount 00:33:12.02\00:33:13.92 and not leave anything for 3ABN. 00:33:13.96\00:33:16.12 So the question that I have is when does 3ABN 00:33:16.16\00:33:19.89 become a beneficiary of this cash trust? 00:33:19.93\00:33:22.06 Well, that's a good question. 00:33:22.10\00:33:23.60 That's a great question At their passing 00:33:23.63\00:33:26.17 is when they would become a beneficiary. 00:33:26.20\00:33:28.74 Now, could they give it during their lifetime? 00:33:28.77\00:33:31.81 They certainly can. Will somebody do that? 00:33:31.84\00:33:33.68 That's right. 00:33:33.71\00:33:35.04 So, you know, we've seen people, 00:33:35.08\00:33:36.51 they give their interest or a portion of their interest 00:33:36.54\00:33:39.85 back to 3ABN on a regular basis. 00:33:39.88\00:33:42.98 And if they see a program that they like, 00:33:43.02\00:33:44.89 or we, there's a mission or a project we're doing, 00:33:44.92\00:33:48.26 they just say, please take it out of my cash trust 00:33:48.29\00:33:50.29 and donate to 3ABN. 00:33:50.33\00:33:51.83 And that's all done by Planned Giving, right? 00:33:51.86\00:33:53.29 And the accounting departments, 00:33:53.33\00:33:54.66 it's very painless. 00:33:54.70\00:33:56.03 It's very easy. 00:33:56.06\00:33:57.40 We have a very friendly staff over there. 00:33:57.43\00:33:58.77 They enjoy talking with all of our... 00:33:58.80\00:34:00.87 Yes, our family. 00:34:00.90\00:34:02.24 Our family. Exactly. 00:34:02.27\00:34:04.17 So we get calls all the time. 00:34:04.21\00:34:05.94 What I love about the cash trust 00:34:05.97\00:34:07.31 is its many sizes fit all. 00:34:07.34\00:34:09.04 Correct. 00:34:09.08\00:34:10.41 You know, it's not just a one size fits all and you 00:34:10.45\00:34:12.11 have to fit in a certain box, 00:34:12.15\00:34:13.55 but you have many different options within that. 00:34:13.58\00:34:16.38 You can say, right now, 00:34:16.42\00:34:17.82 I really wanna give more of my funds 00:34:17.85\00:34:19.42 and I want to bless 3ABN now. 00:34:19.45\00:34:20.92 Well, you can do that. 00:34:20.96\00:34:22.29 Right now I really have a need 00:34:22.32\00:34:23.73 and I need to withdraw some funds. 00:34:23.76\00:34:25.16 Well, you can do that. 00:34:25.19\00:34:26.53 Right now this is what I want to do with my interest. 00:34:26.56\00:34:28.80 Well, you can do that. So what a blessing? 00:34:28.83\00:34:31.17 What about the charitable gift annuities? 00:34:31.20\00:34:32.67 What are those? 00:34:32.70\00:34:34.04 Those are for the more senior adults, 00:34:34.07\00:34:36.00 those are for people 65 and older. 00:34:36.04\00:34:38.27 They become real attractive over 70. 00:34:38.31\00:34:40.84 And it is a contract that you are entering 00:34:40.88\00:34:42.94 into that is irrevocable. 00:34:42.98\00:34:45.58 And so you purchase those, a minimum of $5,000 per person, 00:34:45.61\00:34:50.25 or 10,000 for a couple. 00:34:50.29\00:34:52.09 And they will take and provide you a monthly, 00:34:52.12\00:34:55.46 quarterly, or annually annual payment 00:34:55.49\00:34:58.03 for the rest of your life. 00:34:58.06\00:34:59.39 And if it's a joint account, 00:34:59.43\00:35:00.76 if one of the two of you would pass, 00:35:00.80\00:35:03.13 then it will take and proceed on to the surviving spouse. 00:35:03.16\00:35:06.87 And it's a fixed interest rate, right? 00:35:06.90\00:35:09.00 Fixed interest rate at the time that you take out 00:35:09.04\00:35:12.44 your charitable gift annuity. 00:35:12.47\00:35:14.01 And just a course of a comment, 00:35:14.04\00:35:17.11 we just had a gentleman that took and contacted me. 00:35:17.15\00:35:19.88 And I went down to him and visited with him, 00:35:19.91\00:35:21.58 a charming, wonderful person. 00:35:21.62\00:35:23.85 And he wanted to take 00:35:23.89\00:35:25.22 and get a charitable gift annuity. 00:35:25.25\00:35:26.59 Okay. 00:35:26.62\00:35:27.96 And he took and funded it with some cash 00:35:27.99\00:35:30.26 that he had at home. 00:35:30.29\00:35:31.63 Hey, I brought it up here and we set it up for him 00:35:31.66\00:35:33.50 and it did not quite meet the monthly interest payment. 00:35:33.53\00:35:37.67 And I asked him, I said, 00:35:37.70\00:35:39.23 "Is it going to be a problem 00:35:39.27\00:35:40.60 if you just get your interest quarterly?" 00:35:40.64\00:35:42.40 And he said, "Oh, I just should get it annually. 00:35:42.44\00:35:44.64 Can I get it annually?" 00:35:44.67\00:35:46.34 And to take and lead to this, he's 99 years old. 00:35:46.37\00:35:49.78 So he has a very good outlook on life. 00:35:49.81\00:35:54.28 He wants his interest annually at 99. 00:35:54.32\00:35:58.19 I love his outlook on life. That's great. 00:35:58.22\00:36:00.32 It's fantastic. 00:36:00.36\00:36:02.12 What I like about the charitable gift annuity 00:36:02.16\00:36:04.06 is the older you get the higher the rate of return is. 00:36:04.09\00:36:07.36 Absolutely. 00:36:07.40\00:36:08.73 So, and I don't wanna leave out the younger people, 00:36:08.76\00:36:11.23 you know, the ones that are in the 50s. 00:36:11.27\00:36:14.80 So there is an option for those. 00:36:14.84\00:36:17.27 And that is you can do a deferred 00:36:17.31\00:36:19.41 share with a gift annuity. 00:36:19.44\00:36:21.31 So you don't get payments until you get a little older 00:36:21.34\00:36:24.81 or at a point that you want it. 00:36:24.85\00:36:26.51 You can set it up earlier. You can set it up earlier. 00:36:26.55\00:36:29.08 So if you have some money that you don't know what to do with, 00:36:29.12\00:36:31.85 and you just love 3ABN, which I hope you do. 00:36:31.89\00:36:35.66 And you can just give it to 3ABN, 00:36:35.69\00:36:37.19 do a deferred charitable gift annuity. 00:36:37.23\00:36:39.59 We can hold that money, invest. 00:36:39.63\00:36:42.70 And then at a point in time, 00:36:42.73\00:36:44.87 we then start giving you the payments. 00:36:44.90\00:36:46.70 And that's all part of the document 00:36:46.74\00:36:48.90 that is written, that is signed and it becomes irrevocable 00:36:48.94\00:36:51.87 for the rest of your life. 00:36:51.91\00:36:53.24 And that's a cool instrument that we can give people. 00:36:53.27\00:36:56.21 And I wanna just mention this too. 00:36:56.24\00:36:57.58 We've been mentioning investing and things like that. 00:36:57.61\00:36:59.61 And we just want to know too, Jason, you can comment on this, 00:36:59.65\00:37:01.78 but we invest in what are considered responsible stocks, 00:37:01.82\00:37:05.32 not unlike alcohol and those types of things. 00:37:05.35\00:37:07.56 So we wanna be, 'cause again, 00:37:07.59\00:37:08.92 we believe in being good stewards. 00:37:08.96\00:37:10.29 God's asked us to be very careful with the funds. 00:37:10.33\00:37:12.43 So, yeah, we stay away from the sin stocks 00:37:12.46\00:37:17.43 and I call it the veggie fund. 00:37:17.47\00:37:19.07 So anything that's, you know, that's socially responsible. 00:37:19.10\00:37:23.54 That's the word I was looking for. 00:37:23.57\00:37:24.91 And I think we have a good team 00:37:24.94\00:37:28.04 of financial advisors that we use. 00:37:28.08\00:37:30.61 And it's a great blessing to use 00:37:30.65\00:37:33.21 these type of instruments for the Lord's response. 00:37:33.25\00:37:37.59 You know, and I think as stewards, 00:37:37.62\00:37:39.52 we need to be very responsible in how we invest the money. 00:37:39.55\00:37:42.82 Invest it, so there's not a lot of risk, 00:37:42.86\00:37:46.19 but also prudently. 00:37:46.23\00:37:48.86 Can I go back to the charitable gift for a moment? 00:37:48.90\00:37:50.97 So we talked about the older you are, 00:37:51.00\00:37:53.84 the greater your return of investment, 00:37:53.87\00:37:55.64 but that does not mean that say I'm 65 00:37:55.67\00:37:58.14 and I enter into a charitable gift annuity. 00:37:58.17\00:37:59.91 I signed the agreement 00:37:59.94\00:38:01.54 and then the next year, hey, I'm 66 now, 00:38:01.58\00:38:03.55 my interest rate should go up. 00:38:03.58\00:38:04.91 That's not how it works, right? 00:38:04.95\00:38:06.28 So explain to me how that would work. 00:38:06.31\00:38:08.98 If your interest rate is set at the time of the contract 00:38:09.02\00:38:12.85 and in the deferred you can take and choose a date 00:38:12.89\00:38:16.39 in the future at what age you want to take 00:38:16.42\00:38:18.23 and start drawing that. 00:38:18.26\00:38:19.83 But it, normally someone 65 or older would enter 00:38:19.86\00:38:23.10 into the contract and their age. 00:38:23.13\00:38:25.43 And if it's a husband or wife, 00:38:25.47\00:38:26.80 it's based on a combination of the two. 00:38:26.84\00:38:29.87 So that... It's like the average age... 00:38:29.90\00:38:32.34 Correct. Yeah. 00:38:32.37\00:38:33.71 You take the husband and wife 00:38:33.74\00:38:35.78 and it's all based on actuary tables 00:38:35.81\00:38:38.35 and life expectancy. 00:38:38.38\00:38:40.82 So, yeah, so Jeff, you said it perfectly, 00:38:40.85\00:38:44.52 you know, but usually if you have two people 00:38:44.55\00:38:47.82 because you have now twice as many options 00:38:47.86\00:38:52.06 for giving based on the lifetime 00:38:52.09\00:38:55.30 that the rate is usually a little bit less. 00:38:55.33\00:38:57.23 If you have one person, it's usually a little bit more, 00:38:57.27\00:39:00.97 but it's all based on a metric that we use crescendo program 00:39:01.00\00:39:05.47 to make that happen. 00:39:05.51\00:39:06.98 So, Jeff, what percentage comes to 3ABN? 00:39:07.01\00:39:09.21 So someone does an annuity and they did it, 00:39:09.24\00:39:12.18 to say at 70, and they live a few years, 00:39:12.21\00:39:14.08 10 years of so and they passed away. 00:39:14.12\00:39:15.85 How does that work percentage wise coming to 3ABN? 00:39:15.88\00:39:18.32 Whenever you pass, 00:39:18.35\00:39:19.89 and this is all depends on longevity 00:39:19.92\00:39:21.92 and Adventist have good longevity. 00:39:21.96\00:39:23.93 Yes. 00:39:23.96\00:39:25.29 So sometimes they draw out all their funds 00:39:25.33\00:39:27.73 and there nothing that comes to 3ABN. 00:39:27.76\00:39:29.13 Okay. 00:39:29.16\00:39:30.50 But then sometimes if you have a short life expectancy 00:39:30.53\00:39:33.07 and you invested $50,000, possibly $45,000 00:39:33.10\00:39:37.07 would be coming to 3ABN. 00:39:37.11\00:39:38.44 Okay. 00:39:38.47\00:39:39.81 So it's a balance left in their account 00:39:39.84\00:39:41.18 at the time of their passing. 00:39:41.21\00:39:42.61 So can part of an annuity go to family members, 00:39:42.64\00:39:44.68 or that doesn't work that way with an annuity, 00:39:44.71\00:39:46.21 because I know with cash trust, 00:39:46.25\00:39:47.58 you can send some to other ministries, 00:39:47.62\00:39:49.25 to their family members and to 3ABN, 00:39:49.28\00:39:50.79 but can they do that with an annuity? 00:39:50.82\00:39:52.39 No. 00:39:52.42\00:39:54.16 Yeah, you know, annuities, since they're a contract, 00:39:54.19\00:39:57.46 it is our responsibility 00:39:57.49\00:39:59.33 that we make those payments for the rest of your life. 00:39:59.36\00:40:01.96 So we have a great responsibility 00:40:02.00\00:40:03.97 to keep that contract up. 00:40:04.00\00:40:05.57 And therefore basically what happens once 00:40:05.60\00:40:10.11 the annuitant passes away, then those monies stay 00:40:10.14\00:40:15.74 or get used in the ministry. 00:40:15.78\00:40:17.41 And that's when annuities are benefiting 3ABN. 00:40:17.45\00:40:21.75 Exactly. Yeah. 00:40:21.78\00:40:23.12 When you pass away, 00:40:23.15\00:40:24.49 whatever's left based on that contract, 00:40:24.52\00:40:26.65 and we keep every annuity 00:40:26.69\00:40:28.96 separate from others that we have. 00:40:28.99\00:40:32.03 And so that goes into the ministry 00:40:32.06\00:40:34.40 and it increases who we are and what we do. 00:40:34.43\00:40:37.30 Good. Wow. 00:40:37.33\00:40:39.13 So this is, in my simple mind 00:40:39.17\00:40:41.60 I'm saying a cash trust is revocable. 00:40:41.64\00:40:43.97 I can enter into it at any age. That's correct. 00:40:44.01\00:40:47.01 And I can choose, I want 25% to go to 3ABN 00:40:47.04\00:40:50.25 when I pass away or I want a larger percentage, 00:40:50.28\00:40:52.48 I can make those choices. 00:40:52.51\00:40:53.85 I want these family members, whatever. 00:40:53.88\00:40:55.48 A charitable gift annuity is irrevocable. 00:40:55.52\00:40:59.49 I get a guaranteed fixed income, 00:40:59.52\00:41:01.59 depending on the age I enter into it. 00:41:01.62\00:41:03.73 And I need to be 65 to take one out, 00:41:03.76\00:41:06.39 or I could be in my 50s and I could defer the payments. 00:41:06.43\00:41:09.20 Is that correct? Yeah. 00:41:09.23\00:41:10.57 I mean, 65, 64, you know, 00:41:10.60\00:41:12.80 it's basically in the 60s because the later you wait 00:41:12.83\00:41:17.21 the higher the rate of payment you get. 00:41:17.24\00:41:20.04 And to talk about interest rates and more 00:41:20.08\00:41:21.41 of the detail, of course, in a few minutes, 00:41:21.44\00:41:22.78 we're going to be giving the address roll 00:41:22.81\00:41:24.15 for a phone number. 00:41:24.18\00:41:25.51 You can reach Jeff and your team 00:41:25.55\00:41:26.88 there to talk more details, interest rates, 00:41:26.92\00:41:28.78 and ages and all that kind of stuff, 00:41:28.82\00:41:30.15 because there's a lot of information we're trying 00:41:30.19\00:41:33.09 to compact this into about 50 minutes. 00:41:33.12\00:41:34.92 And I'm sure you have a lot more questions 00:41:34.96\00:41:37.83 than we're sharing here. 00:41:37.86\00:41:39.19 Yeah, sure. 00:41:39.23\00:41:40.56 What about a SAT, a self administered trust? 00:41:40.60\00:41:42.46 What is the self administered trust? 00:41:42.50\00:41:44.60 That's a trust where you are the trustor 00:41:44.63\00:41:46.74 and the trustee and it is... 00:41:46.77\00:41:48.57 Oh, wow. Yes. 00:41:48.60\00:41:49.94 And it's revocable, 00:41:49.97\00:41:51.31 you can put your real estate in it and you can manage 00:41:51.34\00:41:52.91 it that way and you can set up beneficiaries. 00:41:52.94\00:41:56.44 You can take and make all types of prearranged 00:41:56.48\00:41:59.58 decisions with that. 00:41:59.61\00:42:01.52 And if life changes, you can change it. 00:42:01.55\00:42:04.39 So you have something you wanna add to it. 00:42:04.42\00:42:05.75 Well, yeah. 00:42:05.79\00:42:07.12 So I enjoy SATs because the trustor 00:42:07.16\00:42:11.09 and the trustee are you who are creating it. 00:42:11.13\00:42:14.50 Now, usually you wanna create it with an organization 00:42:14.53\00:42:18.27 that you believe that you're gonna be giving part 00:42:18.30\00:42:20.74 of the benefit to. 00:42:20.77\00:42:23.77 So remembering 3ABN is a great part of the SAT. 00:42:23.81\00:42:28.08 What I like about SAT is as you're alive, 00:42:28.11\00:42:32.11 you can manage your own manage the assets 00:42:32.15\00:42:34.88 that the Lord has blessed you with. 00:42:34.92\00:42:36.28 And when you get to the point where either you don't want 00:42:36.32\00:42:38.79 to manage anymore, you can just say 3ABN 00:42:38.82\00:42:42.22 we'd like you to manage it for us. 00:42:42.26\00:42:44.09 And that's a great opportunity, too, because as we get older, 00:42:44.13\00:42:47.10 we're not able to do some of the things. 00:42:47.13\00:42:48.46 Maybe we have a lot of land or assets 00:42:48.50\00:42:52.27 that it's hard for us to manage. 00:42:52.30\00:42:54.50 In those times you may wanna say, 00:42:54.54\00:42:56.57 okay, it's time for me to pass it on 00:42:56.60\00:42:58.91 and let someone else manage it. 00:42:58.94\00:43:00.51 So the SAT be something like a will, 00:43:00.54\00:43:03.88 or is it within a place of a will? 00:43:03.91\00:43:05.68 Well, I would say 00:43:05.71\00:43:07.05 it's just another tool in your toolbox. 00:43:07.08\00:43:09.45 So a SAT is something that you wanna manage 00:43:09.48\00:43:15.19 and you have a document that says, 00:43:15.22\00:43:17.36 well, this is what I wanna do. 00:43:17.39\00:43:19.79 You know, to keep things out of probate, 00:43:19.83\00:43:22.00 that's what they use SATs for. 00:43:22.03\00:43:24.47 Yeah, you know, I've heard that 'cause a lot of times 00:43:24.50\00:43:26.03 when someone passes away, things get held up in court 00:43:26.07\00:43:28.10 or the probate aspect 00:43:28.14\00:43:29.47 and it can be a long drawn out process. 00:43:29.50\00:43:31.51 So with SAT you don't have to worry about probate. 00:43:31.54\00:43:33.24 No, but what I like about these documents too, 00:43:33.27\00:43:36.68 is what you wanna do now while you're living, 00:43:36.71\00:43:40.22 while you're cognitively, 00:43:40.25\00:43:41.85 you know, looking at your legacy, 00:43:41.88\00:43:44.45 what you wanna do in the future, 00:43:44.49\00:43:46.79 you can put that in the document. 00:43:46.82\00:43:48.39 So if anything happens to you at any time, 00:43:48.42\00:43:51.29 you are, you can feel good that everything is there for you. 00:43:51.33\00:43:55.90 Everything is set for you to move forward. 00:43:55.93\00:43:59.27 One thing that needs to come out of the program 00:43:59.30\00:44:01.17 is whether you invest with 3ABN or not. 00:44:01.20\00:44:04.34 Everyone needs to have some documents in place 00:44:04.37\00:44:07.31 because you want to take, you work, 00:44:07.34\00:44:10.35 you have a family, you've paid plans, 00:44:10.38\00:44:12.65 and you want your legacy to live on past your passing. 00:44:12.68\00:44:15.88 So you need some type of documents. 00:44:15.92\00:44:17.99 You need a basic will if you don't have a will. 00:44:18.02\00:44:20.36 Trust are good to have in conjunction with that. 00:44:20.39\00:44:23.12 So whether you have one with 3ABN, 00:44:23.16\00:44:25.33 or whether you take and go to your local attorney, 00:44:25.36\00:44:27.73 you need to take and be proactive. 00:44:27.76\00:44:30.07 That's good. 00:44:30.10\00:44:31.43 Because if you're not, you know, 00:44:31.47\00:44:32.80 in our auction business, 00:44:32.83\00:44:34.17 we have taken and gotten involved in a lot of estates 00:44:34.20\00:44:36.64 where they didn't prepare. 00:44:36.67\00:44:38.07 And there was a lot of confusion 00:44:38.11\00:44:39.71 and the courts had to step in 00:44:39.74\00:44:41.11 and the court ordered the disposal 00:44:41.14\00:44:43.35 and the distribution of their assets. 00:44:43.38\00:44:45.88 And you know that they didn't all follow 00:44:45.91\00:44:48.45 the wishes of the person that passed. 00:44:48.48\00:44:50.85 Yeah, that's a good point. 00:44:50.89\00:44:52.75 It's really good. It is a good point. 00:44:52.79\00:44:54.12 And what I like about 00:44:54.16\00:44:55.49 what you said too is you don't have 00:44:55.52\00:44:57.63 to write documents with 3ABN 00:44:57.66\00:45:00.83 in order for 3ABN to be a beneficiary. 00:45:00.86\00:45:03.67 So your conference or your attorney, 00:45:03.70\00:45:06.30 as you shared, you can remember 3ABN 00:45:06.33\00:45:08.80 with a percentage or a dollar amount. 00:45:08.84\00:45:10.87 And that way, you know, 00:45:10.91\00:45:12.81 what you're interested now can continue for eternity. 00:45:12.84\00:45:17.51 And we get that from time to time here, 00:45:17.55\00:45:18.91 we'll be contacted and say 3ABN is a beneficiary, 00:45:18.95\00:45:21.35 we had no idea, but someone had written 00:45:21.38\00:45:23.65 something with their attorney or with a local conference 00:45:23.69\00:45:25.29 or somebody else. 00:45:25.32\00:45:26.65 Yes, just last week. 00:45:26.69\00:45:28.02 I think the month's income was a little bit less... 00:45:28.06\00:45:30.83 and I received a check 00:45:30.86\00:45:32.19 that was a beneficiary that was... 00:45:32.23\00:45:33.83 We had no idea what's coming to us. 00:45:33.86\00:45:35.20 No idea what was coming, it was such a blessing. 00:45:35.23\00:45:36.87 Oh, I know. Yes. 00:45:36.90\00:45:38.23 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:45:38.27\00:45:39.60 And I think Revelation 14:13 00:45:39.63\00:45:41.67 is one that you've referred to in the past. 00:45:41.70\00:45:44.04 And it says that they may rest from their labors 00:45:44.07\00:45:46.84 and their works will follow them. 00:45:46.88\00:45:48.34 Praise the Lord. What a blessing? 00:45:48.38\00:45:50.15 It's a promise. It is, right? 00:45:50.18\00:45:51.71 Yeah, you go to sleep in Jesus 00:45:51.75\00:45:53.35 and you have everything's in place. 00:45:53.38\00:45:55.05 Yeah. Your works do follow you. 00:45:55.08\00:45:56.82 What a blessing to know that what you wanted 00:45:56.85\00:45:58.89 to have happen is going to happen. 00:45:58.92\00:46:01.22 You know, instead of saying, well, 00:46:01.26\00:46:02.62 someone else is gonna make those decisions. 00:46:02.66\00:46:04.36 No, you have the privilege and opportunity 00:46:04.39\00:46:06.86 to make those decisions now while you can. 00:46:06.90\00:46:09.10 And so that is a gift in itself. 00:46:09.13\00:46:10.87 Well, and it's just peace of mind. 00:46:10.90\00:46:12.43 So you know, that you've planned, 00:46:12.47\00:46:14.10 you've been a good steward and you have documents 00:46:14.14\00:46:18.07 that you can continue on. 00:46:18.11\00:46:20.01 And it's just a blessing and it, 00:46:20.04\00:46:22.18 you know, peace of mind. 00:46:22.21\00:46:23.65 It's nice as we get older too. 00:46:23.68\00:46:25.88 We should briefly talk about CRUT then. Okay. 00:46:25.91\00:46:28.08 'Cause I know that time has just gone by so fast, 00:46:28.12\00:46:29.65 so many things to talk about, but Jason, 00:46:29.68\00:46:31.02 tell us about CRUTs Charitable remainder unitrust, 00:46:31.05\00:46:34.59 they are called CRUTs and so why a CRUT? 00:46:34.62\00:46:37.49 Right? 00:46:37.53\00:46:38.86 So it's a little more complex document. 00:46:38.89\00:46:41.83 If you have a appreciated piece of property land, 00:46:41.86\00:46:47.37 you can donate it to 3ABN. 00:46:47.40\00:46:49.60 We would create a CRUT and it's usually a 5% interest 00:46:49.64\00:46:53.58 that we give back to you for the rest of your life. 00:46:53.61\00:46:56.11 Is that a guaranteed 5%? It's a guaranteed 5%. 00:46:56.14\00:46:58.68 It's an irrevocable document. 00:46:58.71\00:47:02.28 So for the rest of your life we take that instrument 00:47:02.32\00:47:06.22 or that investment and we reinvest it 00:47:06.25\00:47:08.86 and then you get 5% on that for the rest of your life. 00:47:08.89\00:47:12.59 So it's a great tool. 00:47:12.63\00:47:14.76 You don't have to worry about capital gains. 00:47:14.80\00:47:16.73 So if you have appreciated property, 00:47:16.77\00:47:19.03 it's a great opportunity for you. 00:47:19.07\00:47:21.14 You know, many of us, we have land, 00:47:21.17\00:47:22.97 we have something that we just don't use any more. 00:47:23.00\00:47:25.91 It's just sitting there 00:47:25.94\00:47:27.28 and we wanna put it to good use. 00:47:27.31\00:47:28.81 A charitable remainder unitrust 00:47:28.84\00:47:31.21 is that instrument that would work really well 00:47:31.25\00:47:33.95 for those types of properties. 00:47:33.98\00:47:35.78 That's good. 00:47:35.82\00:47:37.15 Could you not take a fund, 00:47:37.19\00:47:39.35 a charitable gift annuity with real estate or stocks as well? 00:47:39.39\00:47:42.89 I would say yes. 00:47:42.92\00:47:44.29 It's a little more complex. 00:47:44.33\00:47:45.69 However, a charitable gift annuity, 00:47:45.73\00:47:48.90 you could do that, but the capital gains follow 00:47:48.93\00:47:52.93 whereas in a charitable remainder unitrust it does not. 00:47:52.97\00:47:58.77 So you just get a payment for the rest of your life 00:47:58.81\00:48:01.78 and it's a good way to donate to 3ABN. 00:48:01.81\00:48:07.05 And then at the end, when someone passes away 00:48:07.08\00:48:09.72 with this CRUT, then it goes to 3ABN. 00:48:09.75\00:48:14.09 So it's a great instrument. 00:48:14.12\00:48:15.62 It's a little more complex, 00:48:15.66\00:48:17.63 but it's for property that has some complexities to it. 00:48:17.66\00:48:23.40 And it's usually with property that CRUTs work well. 00:48:23.43\00:48:27.00 And that one is irrevocable the charitable trust 00:48:27.04\00:48:30.17 where the SAT, the self administered trust 00:48:30.21\00:48:32.87 is revocable 00:48:32.91\00:48:34.38 or you're the trustor and the trustee. 00:48:34.41\00:48:36.51 And, but then it would be the same as the cash trust 00:48:36.54\00:48:39.55 where at the time of your passing 00:48:39.58\00:48:41.52 or mental incapacity we could save. 00:48:41.55\00:48:44.99 And in that case it would become irrevocable? 00:48:45.02\00:48:46.76 Correct. Okay.
