Oh, yeah. 00:04:23.76\00:04:25.29 I love their heart for ministry. 00:04:25.33\00:04:26.93 Amen. 00:04:26.96\00:04:28.30 And we want to go back 00:04:28.33\00:04:29.66 to the very beginning you could say. 00:04:29.70\00:04:31.03 Let's start with you, Curtis. Oh, my goodness. 00:04:31.07\00:04:32.43 So tell us what even made you 00:04:32.47\00:04:34.97 want to get involved in health ministries? 00:04:35.00\00:04:37.21 Why were you even interested in that? 00:04:37.24\00:04:39.34 Good question. 00:04:39.37\00:04:41.54 Think about that for a moment. Okay. 00:04:41.58\00:04:43.04 While you think about it, Paula, should we go to, 00:04:43.08\00:04:44.68 no, just kidding. 00:04:44.71\00:04:46.05 We go to you. I go to Mrs. Curtis. 00:04:46.08\00:04:48.12 This is gonna be a long program, 00:04:48.15\00:04:49.48 I can see this right now. 00:04:49.52\00:04:52.09 Back in the 1950s, all right? 00:04:52.12\00:04:55.19 My grandmother was the Baptist at the time, 00:04:55.22\00:04:56.99 she was studying. 00:04:57.03\00:04:58.36 She felt that 00:04:58.39\00:04:59.73 some of her questions wasn't answered. 00:04:59.76\00:05:03.16 So she saw a magazine called 00:05:03.20\00:05:05.43 "Message Magazine" 00:05:05.47\00:05:06.90 back in the 50s. 00:05:06.94\00:05:08.44 Adventist magazine, she saw it, she read it. 00:05:08.47\00:05:11.67 And she signed off for the Bible studies. 00:05:11.71\00:05:13.84 I think is Voice of Prophecy in California, I think it was. 00:05:13.88\00:05:16.24 Incredible. 00:05:16.28\00:05:17.61 And she send for those Bible studies, 00:05:17.65\00:05:18.98 she realize that 00:05:19.01\00:05:20.35 those Bible studies have all the answers 00:05:20.38\00:05:22.88 that she was asking in those Bible studies. 00:05:22.92\00:05:25.65 From that one Message Magazine 00:05:25.69\00:05:28.79 came four generations of Seventh-day Adventists 00:05:28.82\00:05:32.56 for one Message Magazine. 00:05:32.59\00:05:34.53 So therefore, and so when she joined the church, 00:05:34.56\00:05:37.23 Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:05:37.27\00:05:39.17 One of the members gave her a book 00:05:39.20\00:05:41.04 because she had some health challenges, 00:05:41.07\00:05:42.47 so colds and fainting spells and that kind of thing. 00:05:42.50\00:05:45.54 So one of the members gave her a book called 00:05:45.57\00:05:47.98 "Back to Eden." 00:05:48.01\00:05:49.34 Oh, yeah. 00:05:49.38\00:05:50.71 I mean, it's a classic, Jethro Kloss back in 1940s, 00:05:50.75\00:05:53.05 I think maybe still in print. 00:05:53.08\00:05:54.72 And she read that book. 00:05:54.75\00:05:56.28 Every time she read the book, 00:05:56.32\00:05:57.65 her lifestyle began to change in a healthier format. 00:05:57.69\00:06:01.16 So growing up, 00:06:01.19\00:06:02.96 as a little boy, six and seven years of age, 00:06:02.99\00:06:05.29 I was spending summers 00:06:05.33\00:06:07.06 with my grandmother and grandfather at the time, 00:06:07.10\00:06:09.66 about six and seven years of age. 00:06:09.70\00:06:11.60 So I got there for the summertime. 00:06:11.63\00:06:13.87 She poured into me some of the health principles 00:06:13.90\00:06:16.74 she had been learning from that book Back to Eden. 00:06:16.77\00:06:19.07 Oh, wow. 00:06:19.11\00:06:20.44 So we had a peppermint plant outside the kitchen. 00:06:20.48\00:06:22.58 Tell me what that was for and long story short, 00:06:22.61\00:06:25.38 one day, I came downstairs. 00:06:25.41\00:06:28.08 My normal habit of eating breakfast, 00:06:28.12\00:06:29.88 come downstairs, 00:06:29.92\00:06:31.25 Kellogg's cornflakes, 00:06:31.29\00:06:32.62 maybe the only cereal back in the 60s. 00:06:32.65\00:06:35.36 And in milk, 00:06:35.39\00:06:36.73 I had a chest congestion and cold, common cold, 00:06:36.76\00:06:39.39 some nasal congestion that morning. 00:06:39.43\00:06:41.06 And when I came downstairs, got the Kellogg's cornflakes, 00:06:41.10\00:06:44.20 put in a bowl, 00:06:44.23\00:06:45.57 and then about to pour the milk into the bowl. 00:06:45.60\00:06:48.07 When I did that, right before I did that, 00:06:48.10\00:06:50.44 my grandmother came around the corner, 00:06:50.47\00:06:51.91 came into the kitchen. 00:06:51.94\00:06:53.27 She said Curtis, this is what she said. 00:06:53.31\00:06:55.04 Now this was over 50 years ago. 00:06:55.08\00:06:56.98 "You cannot have milk today." 00:06:57.01\00:06:58.85 Wow. 00:06:58.88\00:07:00.22 I said, "Why not mother dear?" 00:07:00.25\00:07:01.58 I called her mother dear. 00:07:01.62\00:07:02.95 This is what she said. 00:07:02.98\00:07:04.75 "Because milk has snuck in it." 00:07:04.79\00:07:08.12 Oh. 00:07:08.16\00:07:09.52 So you're like. 00:07:09.56\00:07:11.39 And I said to myself six years old like, 00:07:11.43\00:07:14.86 "If you knew that, 00:07:14.90\00:07:16.30 why am I drinking milk all this time?" 00:07:16.33\00:07:18.97 I mean, it just kind of stunned me. 00:07:19.00\00:07:21.80 As I grew older, and studied on my own, 00:07:21.84\00:07:24.44 I realized what she is trying to tell a six year old child, 00:07:24.47\00:07:28.11 milk is mucus forming. 00:07:28.14\00:07:30.65 Yes. 00:07:30.68\00:07:32.01 Oh, that's what she's trying to tell me years ago. 00:07:32.05\00:07:33.78 As I grew older, 00:07:33.82\00:07:35.15 I began to learn more about healthful living 00:07:35.18\00:07:37.05 studying on my own. 00:07:37.09\00:07:38.52 And then about 23, 24 years old, 00:07:38.55\00:07:42.59 I was reading a book called 00:07:42.62\00:07:43.96 "Counsels on Diet and Foods." 00:07:43.99\00:07:46.93 And there's one statement I read 00:07:46.96\00:07:48.53 that changed my life as far as my eating was concerned. 00:07:48.56\00:07:52.50 Page 389, this is what it says. 00:07:52.53\00:07:58.94 "A religious life can be more successfully gained 00:07:58.97\00:08:05.51 and maintained 00:08:05.55\00:08:07.32 if meat is discarded," 00:08:07.35\00:08:09.68 Wow, meat, 00:08:09.72\00:08:11.05 they continue to quote, 00:08:11.09\00:08:12.42 "For this diet and feeble, " 00:08:12.45\00:08:14.36 that means make sick. 00:08:14.39\00:08:15.72 Here's the thing, the clincher, 00:08:15.76\00:08:17.43 "the moral and spiritual nature." 00:08:17.46\00:08:21.06 When I realized that meat does that. 00:08:21.10\00:08:23.43 Now, if you told me at the age of 23, 00:08:23.47\00:08:26.27 it can increased risk of heart disease, 00:08:26.30\00:08:27.90 cancer, prostate, 00:08:27.94\00:08:29.27 whatever, you know, that would not faze me. 00:08:29.30\00:08:31.44 But when I realized that 00:08:31.47\00:08:32.81 this diet and feebles the moral and spiritual nature, 00:08:32.84\00:08:37.55 that got my attention. 00:08:37.58\00:08:38.91 So the spiritual aspect 00:08:38.95\00:08:40.28 caught your attention right away? 00:08:40.32\00:08:41.65 That got my attention. Yeah. 00:08:41.68\00:08:43.02 That Sunday night. 00:08:43.05\00:08:44.39 No more meat, no more hamburgers. 00:08:44.42\00:08:46.25 That Monday morning I became a lacto-ovo. 00:08:46.29\00:08:49.69 Well lacto-ovo chicco fishel, 00:08:49.72\00:08:52.73 you know, and then that's a power of God. 00:08:52.76\00:08:54.93 Let's interpret that, Paula, 'cause I don't get. 00:08:54.96\00:08:57.17 There be some more jokes coming by. 00:08:57.20\00:08:59.37 Yeah, so then after a while. 00:08:59.40\00:09:00.74 So why not just get rid of the fish 00:09:00.77\00:09:03.27 and chicken too. 00:09:03.30\00:09:04.64 So I became a vegetarian because of that one statement, 00:09:04.67\00:09:07.98 and then evolved into more of a plant-based diet 00:09:08.01\00:09:11.15 from there on for over 30 years. 00:09:11.18\00:09:13.08 But my grandmother planted the seed in me 00:09:13.11\00:09:16.55 as a young child. 00:09:16.58\00:09:17.99 And so she lived a long life. 00:09:18.02\00:09:19.65 She just passed away just a few years ago. 00:09:19.69\00:09:22.36 At the age of 110, with no medication. 00:09:22.39\00:09:26.33 Well, she came on the show. 00:09:26.36\00:09:27.70 I remember that. 00:09:27.73\00:09:29.83 She was 108 then, with no medication. 00:09:29.86\00:09:32.90 So that was my inspiration. 00:09:32.93\00:09:35.47 And I'm involved into health ministry 00:09:35.50\00:09:37.07 because my grandmother planted the seed in me 00:09:37.11\00:09:40.38 in a young early age. 00:09:40.41\00:09:42.34 Now that my wife, 00:09:42.38\00:09:43.71 you have a different kind of story to tell 00:09:43.75\00:09:45.41 as far as how you got into the health ministry as well. 00:09:45.45\00:09:48.95 Are they going to ask me that question 00:09:48.98\00:09:50.32 after you finish? 00:09:50.35\00:09:51.82 Yes, I have plenty of time. Yeah. 00:09:51.85\00:09:53.56 I can talk more but the clock is ticking, 00:09:53.59\00:09:55.92 so would you have something to share too, Honey? 00:09:55.96\00:09:58.66 Well, mine was, you know what? 00:09:58.69\00:10:00.16 I think we just sit back and just kind of let... 00:10:00.20\00:10:02.40 I think there is, yay. 00:10:02.43\00:10:04.07 Oh, no, no, don't get too relaxed. 00:10:04.10\00:10:06.00 We're coming back on this program. 00:10:06.03\00:10:07.64 Okay. 00:10:07.67\00:10:09.00 And so, Paula, actually what about you? 00:10:09.04\00:10:10.81 Yeah, mine's is different in that, 00:10:10.84\00:10:12.71 you know, I've been through a lot of stuff in my life. 00:10:12.74\00:10:16.21 And when I found Christ as my personal Savior, 00:10:16.24\00:10:18.95 and of course, we came into the Adventist movement. 00:10:18.98\00:10:23.28 Yeah. 00:10:23.32\00:10:24.65 The more I studied, 00:10:24.69\00:10:26.02 the more I started reading and seeing things 00:10:26.05\00:10:27.39 about the Sabbath, and how did I miss that? 00:10:27.42\00:10:30.06 And, you know, all those kind of things. 00:10:30.09\00:10:32.36 I also at that particular time was very interested in health. 00:10:32.39\00:10:36.36 Now, how old were you at that time? 00:10:36.40\00:10:38.73 Would this be teenage, 20s? 00:10:38.77\00:10:40.10 I was a young adult, 00:10:40.14\00:10:42.24 when I first started getting a message about Adventism. 00:10:42.27\00:10:44.21 All right? 00:10:44.24\00:10:45.57 And so, with that in mind, I went to a class, 00:10:45.61\00:10:48.34 a cooking class, 00:10:48.38\00:10:49.71 and this was on Counsel on Diets and Foods as well. 00:10:49.74\00:10:52.35 It was way beyond what I wanted to even hear. 00:10:52.38\00:10:55.02 All the stuff that was being said to me, 00:10:55.05\00:10:56.45 all that we had to go home 00:10:56.48\00:10:57.82 and do the homework from the chapters. 00:10:57.85\00:10:59.82 I did a lot of crying, a lot of prayers to say, 00:10:59.85\00:11:01.42 no way I'm gonna get off 00:11:01.46\00:11:02.79 all the stuff they're telling me 00:11:02.82\00:11:04.16 I'm not supposed to eat, that's not gonna work, 00:11:04.19\00:11:06.16 because I'm one of 10 children. 00:11:06.19\00:11:07.53 And so we ate everything 00:11:07.56\00:11:08.90 that wasn't nailed down to the floor. 00:11:08.93\00:11:10.47 When it came to spirituality and learning about health, 00:11:10.50\00:11:12.77 it was like, 00:11:12.80\00:11:14.14 "I don't know about that." 00:11:14.17\00:11:15.50 So I went to this class. 00:11:15.54\00:11:17.01 And when the instructor said, 00:11:17.04\00:11:18.77 "You know, 00:11:18.81\00:11:20.14 the husband is the priest of the home. 00:11:20.18\00:11:23.38 But the mother is the gatekeeper." 00:11:23.41\00:11:25.25 I said, 00:11:25.28\00:11:26.61 "Oh, boy, if I didn't get enough information 00:11:26.65\00:11:28.25 already from Counsels on Diets and Foods, 00:11:28.28\00:11:29.62 and now you're telling me that I'm the gatekeeper." 00:11:29.65\00:11:31.45 And she said, "And by gatekeeper, " 00:11:31.49\00:11:33.12 she kept going, 00:11:33.15\00:11:34.49 "That means that you have the ability 00:11:34.52\00:11:35.86 to either make or break your family's health, 00:11:35.89\00:11:38.69 by what you're feeding them." 00:11:38.73\00:11:40.40 I'm like okay. 00:11:40.43\00:11:41.76 That's a heavy duty responsibility. 00:11:41.80\00:11:43.13 That's a big one. Yeah. 00:11:43.16\00:11:44.50 So all the things that I thought was okay, 00:11:44.53\00:11:46.00 all the things that I have been eating in the past, 00:11:46.03\00:11:47.87 I had to go into some serious prayer to ask God, 00:11:47.90\00:11:50.01 you just need to help me because there's just no way. 00:11:50.04\00:11:52.47 And my daughter at that time, she said, 00:11:52.51\00:11:54.08 "Mom," 00:11:54.11\00:11:55.44 she said, "I don't know why it's a big deal. 00:11:55.48\00:11:56.81 Why don't you just take your books and stuff 00:11:56.85\00:11:58.18 and turn them into healthier recipes, 00:11:58.21\00:12:00.72 you know, just switch things out." 00:12:00.75\00:12:02.08 Out of mouth of babes. 00:12:02.12\00:12:03.59 And it took a lot, I went in the kitchen, 00:12:03.62\00:12:05.89 started working with recipes, I prayed a lot. 00:12:05.92\00:12:08.82 And one of the things that God said to me was I said, 00:12:08.86\00:12:10.99 "Father, how in the world 00:12:11.03\00:12:12.36 are we going to change these diet out?" 00:12:12.39\00:12:14.53 And you know what He said? 00:12:14.56\00:12:15.90 "I'm the creator of all things," 00:12:15.93\00:12:17.27 Paula, 00:12:17.30\00:12:18.63 "You know, just go in the kitchen. 00:12:18.67\00:12:20.00 And I will show you what to do." 00:12:20.04\00:12:21.70 And I just went in here and start working on recipes. 00:12:21.74\00:12:23.81 And I want to say that before that time, 00:12:23.84\00:12:26.01 my family had colds, they were kind of stressed out. 00:12:26.04\00:12:30.41 My son was having a lot of issues in school. 00:12:30.45\00:12:33.21 When I changed the diet out, I mean, everything. 00:12:33.25\00:12:35.72 I mean, I was doing everything from breads to the meats, 00:12:35.75\00:12:38.42 everything from scratch. 00:12:38.45\00:12:39.79 Wow. 00:12:39.82\00:12:41.16 I saw a healing, 00:12:41.19\00:12:42.52 and not just my son and his attitude in school, 00:12:42.56\00:12:45.09 but myself, my daughter as well. 00:12:45.13\00:12:47.30 And that's when I saw that there is a connection 00:12:47.33\00:12:49.96 between what you're eating, 00:12:50.00\00:12:51.97 and also what happens to you later. 00:12:52.00\00:12:54.40 So you saw the healing 00:12:54.44\00:12:56.20 physically as well as emotionally 00:12:56.24\00:12:58.84 or socially or spiritually? 00:12:58.87\00:13:00.71 I wanna say physically, spiritually, 00:13:00.74\00:13:02.41 mentally, and socially, 00:13:02.44\00:13:03.78 I wanna say, 00:13:03.81\00:13:05.15 even to the point of the Lord said, 00:13:05.18\00:13:06.75 you even you look at your children's sleeping habits, 00:13:06.78\00:13:09.98 you need to look at the toys they play with. 00:13:10.02\00:13:12.22 I mean, he went all the way, all the way. 00:13:12.25\00:13:14.19 And I thought about things like 00:13:14.22\00:13:15.56 who would ever think that anything wrong 00:13:15.59\00:13:16.93 with little army men inside of the box, 00:13:16.96\00:13:18.59 toy boxes. 00:13:18.63\00:13:19.96 But he still went all the way, 00:13:20.00\00:13:21.33 he went from health, physically, spiritually, 00:13:21.36\00:13:23.37 mentally, socially. 00:13:23.40\00:13:24.73 So I was actually in school. 00:13:24.77\00:13:26.60 And after I got all excited about it, 00:13:26.63\00:13:28.24 my friends started telling about 00:13:28.27\00:13:29.60 how good the food was tasting. 00:13:29.64\00:13:30.97 The next thing I knew I was telling my pastor, 00:13:31.01\00:13:32.81 can I do some cooking classes here at the church? 00:13:32.84\00:13:35.28 Now, I had no education 00:13:35.31\00:13:36.64 is other than what I have been learning 00:13:36.68\00:13:38.11 right from counsel and other thing. 00:13:38.15\00:13:40.05 And when I began to teach classes, 00:13:40.08\00:13:41.98 people would say things to me like sodium, carbohydrates, 00:13:42.02\00:13:45.89 I just knew how to fix the food. 00:13:45.92\00:13:47.66 And I said, 00:13:47.69\00:13:49.12 "What does that do for you 00:13:49.16\00:13:50.49 from a carbohydrate standpoint?" 00:13:50.53\00:13:51.86 Or they'll say, 00:13:51.89\00:13:53.23 "So what exactly is sodium?" 00:13:53.26\00:13:54.60 And the Lord said, "You need to go to school." 00:13:54.63\00:13:55.96 Wow. 00:13:56.00\00:13:57.33 I said school, and so really, as a little more mature adult, 00:13:57.37\00:14:01.80 I then decided to go back to school. 00:14:01.84\00:14:07.28 When she answered the question, she's cutting more. 00:14:07.31\00:14:09.68 I think she overlooked that. Okay. 00:14:09.71\00:14:11.61 The Lord just really blessed 00:14:11.65\00:14:12.98 because I went through the whole school gambit. 00:14:13.01\00:14:15.38 I was the first person in a row in a classroom 00:14:15.42\00:14:17.62 in the area of nutrition. 00:14:17.65\00:14:19.25 And to the point where I just, I was amazed at the anatomy, 00:14:19.29\00:14:22.42 physiology of the body and what was going on. 00:14:22.46\00:14:24.99 And the schools I went to was not plant-based, right? 00:14:25.03\00:14:27.90 Yeah. 00:14:27.93\00:14:29.26 So when I had my classes on the lab portion, 00:14:29.30\00:14:32.53 I would actually you had to go to the lab quick, 00:14:32.57\00:14:34.74 look on the board to see what's being fixed. 00:14:34.77\00:14:36.84 And me and the girls, I was actually with my team. 00:14:36.87\00:14:39.71 We would go down early, 00:14:39.74\00:14:41.08 get in the class before it got started 00:14:41.11\00:14:42.44 and grab all the foods that were plant-based, 00:14:42.48\00:14:44.21 because you had to fix those foods in your cubicle. 00:14:44.25\00:14:46.25 Oh, my. 00:14:46.28\00:14:47.62 That's how they really kind of learned 00:14:47.65\00:14:48.98 about the fact of plant-based. 00:14:49.02\00:14:51.15 And my teacher at that time, she said, 00:14:51.19\00:14:52.52 "Paula, I don't know what you're doing, 00:14:52.55\00:14:53.89 but I'm gonna tell you right now." 00:14:53.92\00:14:55.42 That was way back then, plant-based is not going to go, 00:14:55.46\00:14:57.69 you will not get a job 00:14:57.73\00:14:59.26 teaching anything in the area of vegetarianism, 00:14:59.29\00:15:01.46 so you could forget that. 00:15:01.50\00:15:03.06 Years later I saw her again, 00:15:03.10\00:15:05.33 with a master's degree 00:15:05.37\00:15:07.00 and teaching plant-based literally. 00:15:07.04\00:15:10.61 Before we talk about how you all teamed up together, 00:15:10.64\00:15:12.71 I want to just maybe you can talk to someone at home 00:15:12.74\00:15:14.94 because you mentioned something to me. 00:15:14.98\00:15:17.41 When you were talking about the transition, 00:15:17.45\00:15:19.41 we started finding out about this new information 00:15:19.45\00:15:21.02 about plant-based, 00:15:21.05\00:15:22.38 there are a lot of tears, a struggle. 00:15:22.42\00:15:23.89 There's someone at home right now 00:15:23.92\00:15:25.25 that may be eating everything that's not nailed down either. 00:15:25.29\00:15:27.36 And trying to figure out what's the first step, 00:15:27.39\00:15:29.29 because we know there's something better 00:15:29.32\00:15:30.96 what do we do? 00:15:30.99\00:15:32.33 Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. 00:15:32.36\00:15:33.70 For me, I went back and looked at my cookbooks 00:15:33.73\00:15:36.20 that I already had at home. 00:15:36.23\00:15:38.23 And I began praying and asking God, 00:15:38.27\00:15:39.77 how can we switch things out? 00:15:39.80\00:15:41.14 Okay. 00:15:41.17\00:15:42.50 So sometimes people think you have to change everything 00:15:42.54\00:15:43.87 and throw the baby out with the bathwater, 00:15:43.91\00:15:45.24 that's not true. 00:15:45.27\00:15:46.61 You can actually look at recipes 00:15:46.64\00:15:47.98 we call your super foods that you really like. 00:15:48.01\00:15:50.18 And you can actually see 00:15:50.21\00:15:51.55 how can I switch things out for instance. 00:15:51.58\00:15:53.45 Biscuits and gravy I was thinking. 00:15:53.48\00:15:54.82 Biscuits and gravy, you know, 00:15:54.85\00:15:56.18 now we're going to make a whole wheat biscuit 00:15:56.22\00:15:57.85 instead of a white biscuit. 00:15:57.89\00:15:59.22 Okay, we're going to make a gravy 00:15:59.25\00:16:00.59 and this gravy can use a soy milk 00:16:00.62\00:16:02.19 or almond milk or rice milk. 00:16:02.22\00:16:04.03 So the thing is that people think it's so difficult, 00:16:04.06\00:16:05.99 but it's not really difficult. 00:16:06.03\00:16:07.90 Remember now, in the first book of the Bible, 00:16:07.93\00:16:09.60 in Genesis, 00:16:09.63\00:16:10.97 God speaks about the diet, okay? 00:16:11.00\00:16:13.00 So because He speaks about it, and then in Genesis 3:18, 00:16:13.03\00:16:15.70 He goes a step further with a diet. 00:16:15.74\00:16:17.67 So really, I think the Master really knows 00:16:17.71\00:16:19.17 what we're supposed to do. 00:16:19.21\00:16:20.54 Yeah. 00:16:20.58\00:16:21.91 But the biggest thing for us is that 00:16:21.94\00:16:23.28 it's hard for us to make changes. 00:16:23.31\00:16:24.68 Yes. 00:16:24.71\00:16:26.05 And we really have because we love that fried chicken 00:16:26.08\00:16:28.68 and collard greens and biscuits and gravy, okay? 00:16:28.72\00:16:31.95 But we can learn how to really change them. 00:16:31.99\00:16:34.82 We don't have to let it go. 00:16:34.86\00:16:36.42 We have to learn how to make it better. 00:16:36.46\00:16:37.89 Boy, I like that, how do we make it better. 00:16:37.93\00:16:40.13 I love that. Curtis? 00:16:40.16\00:16:41.50 We're not taking anything away 00:16:41.53\00:16:43.47 unless we give them something better in its place. 00:16:43.50\00:16:45.53 That's it. I like that. 00:16:45.57\00:16:47.70 Otherwise, they won't buy into it really. 00:16:47.74\00:16:50.94 It had to be better, better tasting, healthier, 00:16:50.97\00:16:54.94 and cost less. 00:16:54.98\00:16:56.31 That's it. 00:16:56.34\00:16:57.68 She has a gift of cooking. 00:16:57.71\00:16:59.48 It is actually a gift. 00:16:59.51\00:17:01.68 Ellen White said, 00:17:01.72\00:17:03.05 "It is the best gift available is worth 00:17:03.08\00:17:08.56 "ten talents." 00:17:08.59\00:17:10.63 Wow. 00:17:10.66\00:17:11.99 "Ten talents." 00:17:12.03\00:17:13.36 That's amazing. 00:17:13.40\00:17:14.73 So I mean, really just something we do 00:17:14.76\00:17:16.60 every single day that transition. 00:17:16.63\00:17:20.27 And must look appealing. 00:17:20.30\00:17:22.10 So do not put a green split pea burger 00:17:22.14\00:17:25.74 in front of me 00:17:25.77\00:17:27.11 because burger is not green, it's supposed to be brown. 00:17:27.14\00:17:29.81 No, really 'cause we eat also with our eyes, 00:17:29.84\00:17:33.75 and the mouth texture, appeal, the smell. 00:17:33.78\00:17:37.09 All of that has to be in play. 00:17:37.12\00:17:38.85 And God really blessed her with that. 00:17:38.89\00:17:40.49 Oh, absolutely. 00:17:40.52\00:17:41.86 I know my brain would shook, 00:17:41.89\00:17:43.22 'cause that's why I'm sticking with her. 00:17:43.26\00:17:44.59 I mean, look, if she ever leaves, 00:17:44.63\00:17:47.20 I'm going with her. 00:17:47.23\00:17:48.56 Yeah, you guys are a team. Yeah, I'm going with you. 00:17:48.60\00:17:50.27 You guys are amazing. 00:17:50.30\00:17:51.63 Absolutely. 00:17:51.67\00:17:53.03 I just think about the training 00:17:53.07\00:17:57.64 from when you were young, 00:17:57.67\00:17:59.21 you know, your grandmother talking to you and family. 00:17:59.24\00:18:03.91 This is a question for you, Curtis, 00:18:03.95\00:18:05.28 and then get to how y'all got together? 00:18:05.31\00:18:07.48 Talk to someone at home who maybe is a grandparent, 00:18:07.52\00:18:11.25 maybe their grandkids aren't eating well, 00:18:11.29\00:18:13.72 maybe their grandkids 00:18:13.76\00:18:15.09 don't even really walk with God. 00:18:15.12\00:18:16.52 What can they do 00:18:16.56\00:18:18.29 to be an influence in those baby's lives? 00:18:18.33\00:18:21.50 Okay, well, this is my cam, no this might be, okay. 00:18:21.53\00:18:26.87 No, I'm serious, I want to talk to the people 00:18:26.90\00:18:28.37 because a lot of times 00:18:28.40\00:18:29.74 a lot of grandparents are now raising their kids, 00:18:29.77\00:18:33.17 the grandkids, right? 00:18:33.21\00:18:34.58 And so therefore, get them into the kitchen. 00:18:34.61\00:18:38.38 Help them make meals for the family, 00:18:38.41\00:18:41.65 get them really involved. 00:18:41.68\00:18:43.79 We're talking about hands-on really, 00:18:43.82\00:18:47.52 so they know exactly what to do. 00:18:47.56\00:18:49.26 Love it. 00:18:49.29\00:18:50.63 Teach them in a very tender way 00:18:50.66\00:18:53.56 why this is prepared this way as opposed to that way. 00:18:53.60\00:18:57.73 My grandmother taught me. 00:18:57.77\00:18:59.27 She taught me as a young child six and seven years of age, 00:18:59.30\00:19:02.80 why we ate the way we ate 00:19:02.84\00:19:05.17 while spending the summers 00:19:05.21\00:19:06.54 with my grandfather and grandmother 00:19:06.57\00:19:08.54 there in a country in Ohio. 00:19:08.58\00:19:10.51 So I understood not just why I'm eating this, 00:19:10.55\00:19:13.78 but the impact it has on my system as well, 00:19:13.82\00:19:18.02 education that a child can understand, all right. 00:19:18.05\00:19:21.76 So, but get them involved. 00:19:21.79\00:19:23.12 I think my wife, 00:19:23.16\00:19:24.49 she talks about cooking class 00:19:24.53\00:19:25.86 where sometimes more people are, 00:19:25.89\00:19:28.60 it sticks better when you see it, 00:19:28.63\00:19:32.37 even better still when you see it and do it. 00:19:32.40\00:19:34.70 Oh, yeah. 00:19:34.74\00:19:36.07 Hands-on, so get them involved in the transition. 00:19:36.10\00:19:38.21 We say, "Take the children shopping." 00:19:38.24\00:19:39.91 You know, I used to ask my students, 00:19:39.94\00:19:41.94 "Okay, it's time for us to go to the store. 00:19:41.98\00:19:43.75 What are we going to buy?" 00:19:43.78\00:19:45.11 And then I'd say, 00:19:45.15\00:19:46.48 "Okay, we have to have a vegetable. 00:19:46.51\00:19:47.85 All right. Then we have to have a start." 00:19:47.88\00:19:49.22 So they learn those things. So they're now a part of it. 00:19:49.25\00:19:51.35 So they're picking the foods out. 00:19:51.39\00:19:52.89 They're going to bring them home. 00:19:52.92\00:19:54.26 And then, well, I want potato chips. 00:19:54.29\00:19:55.72 Okay, well, how about a potato? 00:19:55.76\00:19:57.36 What are we gonna do with that? 00:19:57.39\00:19:58.73 Well, let's get a baked potato and let's cut it up, 00:19:58.76\00:20:00.70 put it in the oven. 00:20:00.73\00:20:02.06 Let's make potato chips out of it. 00:20:02.10\00:20:03.43 Why? 00:20:03.47\00:20:05.13 So it's not as hard as people make it. 00:20:05.17\00:20:08.00 But you do have to be committed. 00:20:08.04\00:20:09.37 And also when for the grandmother part 00:20:09.40\00:20:11.07 is a spiritual part. 00:20:11.11\00:20:12.54 They're not just learning about foods. 00:20:12.57\00:20:14.44 They're also learning. She was very spiritual. 00:20:14.48\00:20:16.51 She prayed a lot. She talked a lot to Curtis. 00:20:16.54\00:20:19.01 And so that's very important 00:20:19.05\00:20:21.18 because they have to know the other part of it. 00:20:21.22\00:20:23.18 The other part of being healthy is who makes us healthy. 00:20:23.22\00:20:26.02 And why are we healthy? 00:20:26.05\00:20:27.56 And let's pray about that. 00:20:27.59\00:20:29.12 And this is what the children learn. 00:20:29.16\00:20:31.26 They learn from their grandparent, 00:20:31.29\00:20:33.13 and my children, 00:20:33.16\00:20:34.50 of course, learn from me 00:20:34.53\00:20:35.86 because my grandparent wasn't in that and so that's, 00:20:35.90\00:20:38.37 it's all together. 00:20:38.40\00:20:39.73 Yeah, the spiritual aspect, too. 00:20:39.77\00:20:41.10 That's really good 00:20:41.14\00:20:42.47 because they realized the Creator God 00:20:42.50\00:20:43.84 is when He created each one of us 00:20:43.87\00:20:45.21 and He's interested in our health and well-being. 00:20:45.24\00:20:46.68 So tell us how you guys then got together first, 00:20:46.71\00:20:48.88 ministering together 00:20:48.91\00:20:50.25 because I believe Abundant Living 00:20:50.28\00:20:51.61 is one of the longest running programs on 3ABN. 00:20:51.65\00:20:53.68 Do you really think so? Is it really? 00:20:53.72\00:20:55.75 We have the flagship programs like Today program. 00:20:55.78\00:20:58.39 Now we have like you're viewing right now 00:20:58.42\00:21:00.22 and like the Thursday Night Live 00:21:00.26\00:21:01.59 and some other programs, 00:21:01.62\00:21:02.96 but Abundant Living is one of the longest. 00:21:02.99\00:21:04.33 So were you in ministry before you came here 00:21:04.36\00:21:05.93 and started doing Abundant Living? 00:21:05.96\00:21:07.30 Oh, yes, yes. 00:21:07.33\00:21:08.66 So tell us how it all happened? 00:21:08.70\00:21:10.03 Of course, now from a math standpoint, 00:21:10.07\00:21:11.77 I have the short version. Okay. 00:21:11.80\00:21:13.37 My wife has an exhausted version. 00:21:13.40\00:21:15.47 So I'll introduce short version first. 00:21:15.50\00:21:16.94 Okay. 00:21:16.97\00:21:18.31 So it'd be kind of quick 00:21:18.34\00:21:19.67 and they're still adding some pieces 00:21:19.71\00:21:21.04 that I'm leaving out, maybe on purpose. 00:21:21.08\00:21:23.48 So when we were growing up, of course, I began my study, 00:21:23.51\00:21:28.12 my own personal study as well. 00:21:28.15\00:21:30.15 And then I took a course and became a naturopath, 00:21:30.19\00:21:33.69 doctor of naturopathy. 00:21:33.72\00:21:35.06 Lot of people ask, you know the initials after our name. 00:21:35.09\00:21:37.46 Mines is N.D, hers is M.S. 00:21:37.49\00:21:40.10 Someone came up to say in excess, 00:21:40.13\00:21:42.16 well, what does that stand for? 00:21:42.20\00:21:44.10 N.D is North Dakota, hers is Mississippi. 00:21:44.13\00:21:47.70 They would say, 00:21:47.74\00:21:49.10 oh, now let them student just for a little while, 00:21:49.14\00:21:51.97 then I clarify that later on. 00:21:52.01\00:21:53.58 That's why I get my kicks. All right? 00:21:53.61\00:21:55.04 So now that you know, but yeah, I got the course, 00:21:55.08\00:21:57.61 doctor of naturopathy, 00:21:57.65\00:21:59.08 it specializes in lifestyle medicine. 00:21:59.11\00:22:01.52 All right? 00:22:01.55\00:22:02.98 But my main thing coming up and studying research, 00:22:03.02\00:22:07.76 it's like at the point 00:22:07.79\00:22:09.12 where everything can be cured by taking herbs. 00:22:09.16\00:22:13.16 I mean, everything just taking herbs, herbs only. 00:22:13.19\00:22:16.20 And I knew that I was unbalanced. 00:22:16.23\00:22:19.23 And I need somebody 00:22:19.27\00:22:20.60 who knew something about nutrition. 00:22:20.64\00:22:23.47 So I asked my mom, I said, 00:22:23.51\00:22:24.84 "Mom, who in this church, Huntsville Church, 00:22:24.87\00:22:28.11 know something about nutrition?" 00:22:28.14\00:22:29.48 She said, "Oh, there is a lady 00:22:29.51\00:22:30.85 who just graduated from Alabama A&M. 00:22:30.88\00:22:32.61 She has her master's degree in nutrition. 00:22:32.65\00:22:34.65 Her name is Paula, missed her last name." 00:22:34.68\00:22:37.09 I said, "Oh, maybe you can check her out 00:22:37.12\00:22:38.75 and call her see if you know she can, 00:22:38.79\00:22:41.09 you know team up with you to do some classes." 00:22:41.12\00:22:43.06 Wow. 00:22:43.09\00:22:44.43 So I call her I said honey. 00:22:44.46\00:22:46.06 Well I didn't say honey at first, 00:22:46.09\00:22:47.43 but the honey was coming but not the first call. 00:22:47.46\00:22:51.77 That was a priceless expression, right? 00:22:51.80\00:22:54.07 Yeah, I didn't say honey at first, 00:22:54.10\00:22:55.60 but a few calls later became honey, 00:22:55.64\00:22:57.87 you know, whenever that kind of slipped out. 00:22:57.91\00:22:59.77 But I said, 00:22:59.81\00:23:01.14 "I want to start a medical missionary workshop 00:23:01.18\00:23:04.45 on the campus of Oakwood College." 00:23:04.48\00:23:06.38 Oh, wow. All right? 00:23:06.41\00:23:08.32 The new girls don't wait all at the time. 00:23:08.35\00:23:11.39 And so this early 90s, I guess. 00:23:11.42\00:23:13.96 And I'll do the herbal part. 00:23:13.99\00:23:16.66 Why don't you do the nutrition part? 00:23:16.69\00:23:19.09 Now this is gonna be once a month, 00:23:19.13\00:23:21.76 two hours from 12 to 2. 00:23:21.80\00:23:24.53 And your response was what, Honey? 00:23:24.57\00:23:27.80 I don't come cheap. 00:23:27.84\00:23:30.54 And I said that because... That was a laughing moment. 00:23:30.57\00:23:32.77 But that is what she just said. 00:23:32.81\00:23:34.74 I said that because, remember, now my background is nutrition. 00:23:34.78\00:23:38.38 And I have not dealt in herbal medicine. 00:23:38.41\00:23:40.98 So when I thought about herbal medicine, 00:23:41.02\00:23:43.02 and plus the fact that 00:23:43.05\00:23:44.39 Curtis played around a lot, okay? 00:23:44.42\00:23:46.49 Not that much. 00:23:46.52\00:23:47.86 So when he said to me, 00:23:47.89\00:23:49.72 "I want you to team up with me." 00:23:49.76\00:23:51.29 I'm like, 00:23:51.33\00:23:52.66 "I'm not really sure where this is going to go." 00:23:52.69\00:23:54.03 So I figured if I said I don't come cheap, 00:23:54.06\00:23:55.63 he back away, 00:23:55.66\00:23:57.00 because I didn't know how nutrition 00:23:57.03\00:23:58.37 and herbal medicine would match. 00:23:58.40\00:23:59.73 You mean you teased. All right. 00:23:59.77\00:24:01.10 Yeah, you know. 00:24:01.14\00:24:02.47 Yeah, really? 00:24:02.50\00:24:03.84 And so he said, 00:24:03.87\00:24:05.21 I'll do the talking and you do the nutrition part. 00:24:05.24\00:24:07.64 And then whatever I get together, 00:24:07.68\00:24:09.41 because we were then asking for donations. 00:24:09.44\00:24:11.25 Whatever I get, I'll share with you. 00:24:11.28\00:24:12.71 Well, I figured I wasn't getting out of this. 00:24:12.75\00:24:14.52 I have her half, I get half. I wasn't gonna get out. 00:24:14.55\00:24:16.38 I figured I might as well just go ahead and do it with him 00:24:16.42\00:24:18.32 and just let it go. 00:24:18.35\00:24:19.69 And at the program itself, we did the presentation. 00:24:19.72\00:24:22.82 At the end he came over to me 00:24:22.86\00:24:25.23 and my girlfriends were with me 00:24:25.26\00:24:26.59 in as audience, okay? 00:24:26.63\00:24:27.96 He walks over to me, he has his hand out like this. 00:24:28.00\00:24:31.47 And he has his $6 and some cent in his hand. 00:24:31.50\00:24:35.14 And she says... 00:24:35.17\00:24:36.57 He said, "This is your portion." 00:24:36.60\00:24:38.04 No, that was the total. 00:24:38.07\00:24:39.57 You can have. 00:24:39.61\00:24:40.94 But her portion is $3.20. 00:24:40.98\00:24:42.61 That's her half. Okay. 00:24:42.64\00:24:44.38 I held to my word. 00:24:44.41\00:24:46.01 I don't know why they're laughing. 00:24:46.05\00:24:48.38 Trying to contain myself but I can't help it. 00:24:48.42\00:24:51.22 We've got another 26 more minutes. 00:24:51.25\00:24:52.89 He said that. 00:24:52.92\00:24:54.99 I knew I was stuck. 00:24:55.02\00:24:56.36 And I just, I took the $3 and some cents 00:24:56.39\00:24:58.53 and I felt so bad. 00:24:58.56\00:24:59.89 Oh, yes, you took it. 00:24:59.93\00:25:01.26 That I acted that way because I kind of figured 00:25:01.30\00:25:02.76 God might be trying to move me into retirement. 00:25:02.80\00:25:06.50 So I did take the money, 00:25:06.53\00:25:07.87 and I went to subway and I bought a sub, 00:25:07.90\00:25:09.90 a foot long sub plant-based. 00:25:09.94\00:25:11.44 Yes. 00:25:11.47\00:25:12.81 I went back to his office and I split it with him. 00:25:12.84\00:25:16.81 And that was our first date. 00:25:16.85\00:25:18.41 No, that was not our first date. 00:25:18.45\00:25:19.78 No, it was. 00:25:19.81\00:25:21.15 No, we ate the sandwich together. 00:25:21.18\00:25:22.52 I'm going to ask Jill this question. 00:25:22.55\00:25:24.55 Won't you ask Greg? No, I'm gonna ask Jill. 00:25:24.59\00:25:26.45 Now, Jill, with $3.30 be a date? 00:25:26.49\00:25:29.82 No. 00:25:29.86\00:25:31.19 See if I could high five you, 00:25:31.23\00:25:33.03 I would high five you right now. 00:25:33.06\00:25:35.30 Well, I didn't say it was expensive date. 00:25:35.33\00:25:37.23 I mean, it went up to like a large order fries. 00:25:37.27\00:25:39.50 I mean, I got more expensive but. 00:25:39.53\00:25:41.87 I'm just gonna say this, the first day, 00:25:41.90\00:25:43.37 I know this isn't about us. 00:25:43.41\00:25:44.74 But the first day that Greg and I went on, 00:25:44.77\00:25:46.71 we sat on the floor because there was no seat, 00:25:46.74\00:25:49.58 so we eat and sat on the floor. 00:25:49.61\00:25:50.95 At the restaurant we sat on the floor. 00:25:50.98\00:25:52.31 Really? 00:25:52.35\00:25:53.68 A great memory to our first date. 00:25:53.72\00:25:55.05 So that was our first date. 00:25:55.08\00:25:56.89 And Greg paid for the food? He paid. 00:25:56.92\00:25:58.35 I did. Was it more than $3.30? 00:25:58.39\00:26:00.46 It was. See there? 00:26:00.49\00:26:02.02 Yeah. But, so this is actually... 00:26:02.06\00:26:03.86 Can we cut this portion out, you know, this portion out? 00:26:03.89\00:26:08.46 So this is the beginning then. 00:26:08.50\00:26:10.03 So you guys actually started together 00:26:10.07\00:26:11.47 really doing health ministry together. 00:26:11.50\00:26:13.70 At Oakwood College. Wow. 00:26:13.74\00:26:15.54 Their wait hall back in the early 90s together. 00:26:15.57\00:26:18.31 We did that for at least six or seven months. 00:26:18.34\00:26:20.51 Yeah. Every month. 00:26:20.54\00:26:21.88 Every month? 00:26:21.91\00:26:23.24 And you split the offering every month? 00:26:23.28\00:26:24.71 I split it. And she came in. 00:26:24.75\00:26:26.48 But the dates became more expensive 00:26:26.51\00:26:28.72 as we began to start. 00:26:28.75\00:26:30.52 But it was basically 00:26:30.55\00:26:31.99 a platonic relationship at first. 00:26:32.02\00:26:35.96 And then she walked by and something just hit me. 00:26:35.99\00:26:40.60 And it's like the Bible says, 00:26:40.63\00:26:42.90 "Lord, give her for me, she pleases me well." 00:26:42.93\00:26:47.34 And it shift to more of as my grandfather used to say, 00:26:47.37\00:26:51.21 "I started courtin'." 00:26:51.24\00:26:52.57 That means courting. 00:26:52.61\00:26:53.98 Yeah, courting, yeah. 00:26:54.01\00:26:55.71 But involved in that, but really, 00:26:55.74\00:26:58.65 and I think we've been together 00:26:58.68\00:27:00.35 for at least now almost 30 years. 00:27:00.38\00:27:03.79 So I know what she's gonna say, I know I'm gonna say, 00:27:03.82\00:27:06.19 she could finish my sentence, I can finish her 00:27:06.22\00:27:08.02 because we've been doing this for so long 00:27:08.06\00:27:10.89 as a ministry together. 00:27:10.93\00:27:12.46 And so after that, you end up teaching at Oakwood. 00:27:12.49\00:27:15.83 I was teaching at Oakwood students 00:27:15.86\00:27:17.93 and was on that for a while. 00:27:17.97\00:27:19.33 Nutrition? Nutrition. 00:27:19.37\00:27:20.84 And then the Lord said we were, 00:27:20.87\00:27:23.20 I was actually teaching in a classroom. 00:27:23.24\00:27:25.37 And then I would jump out those clothes 00:27:25.41\00:27:26.74 and put on heels and a suit 00:27:26.78\00:27:28.11 and then go teach in a community. 00:27:28.14\00:27:29.58 And it just got to be too much 00:27:29.61\00:27:30.95 trying to teach on a day and then at nighttime, 00:27:30.98\00:27:32.68 the teaching classes and cooking and all that. 00:27:32.71\00:27:35.18 And one day, I just talked to the Lord, 00:27:35.22\00:27:36.55 I said, "This is not working well. 00:27:36.58\00:27:39.12 I mean, I'm really stressed out." 00:27:39.15\00:27:40.49 And I gotta remember 00:27:40.52\00:27:41.86 where I just taught the students. 00:27:41.89\00:27:43.22 And now I'm actually out in the community teaching. 00:27:43.26\00:27:44.59 And the Lord just said to me, 00:27:44.63\00:27:46.56 "Who has the greater need, Paula?" 00:27:46.59\00:27:48.70 I said, 00:27:48.73\00:27:50.30 "Well, I like the students. I like teaching them." 00:27:50.33\00:27:51.97 He said, "But who has the greater need?" 00:27:52.00\00:27:54.14 And I said, "The community" Father," 00:27:54.17\00:27:55.54 He said, "Yeah, " 00:27:55.57\00:27:56.91 I said, "Because they got the major diseases, 00:27:56.94\00:27:58.41 and they really need help." 00:27:58.44\00:28:00.74 And He said, "Then go and do what you need to do." 00:28:00.78\00:28:02.68 And that's when I walked away from Oakwood as a professor. 00:28:02.71\00:28:05.55 And then at that time 00:28:05.58\00:28:06.92 also Curtis and I were doing classes, 00:28:06.95\00:28:08.65 people calling us from the community, 00:28:08.68\00:28:10.52 we're going to schools and communities 00:28:10.55\00:28:12.59 and doing classes. 00:28:12.62\00:28:14.26 And it just became a thing 00:28:14.29\00:28:15.66 where we liked the idea 00:28:15.69\00:28:17.09 that we could always present foods, 00:28:17.13\00:28:20.50 which is always open door. 00:28:20.53\00:28:21.86 People smell food, 00:28:21.90\00:28:23.23 they'll come to anything when it comes to food. 00:28:23.26\00:28:24.60 Absolutely. 00:28:24.63\00:28:25.97 And then we always were able to actually 00:28:26.00\00:28:27.34 throw the spiritual part in. 00:28:27.37\00:28:28.70 And even when the community said 00:28:28.74\00:28:30.07 some of the organization said 00:28:30.11\00:28:31.44 you cannot pray and talk about God. 00:28:31.47\00:28:33.51 And I would say, "Okay." 00:28:33.54\00:28:35.31 So then when we would cook the food and everything, 00:28:35.34\00:28:37.28 I would just be cooking it. 00:28:37.31\00:28:38.65 And I would say, but isn't God good? 00:28:38.68\00:28:40.05 And then I would just go back to cooking. 00:28:40.08\00:28:42.15 You're putting a spiritual aspect in. 00:28:42.18\00:28:44.29 Yeah. Yeah. 00:28:44.32\00:28:45.65 Praise the Lord. 00:28:45.69\00:28:47.02 Let me let me put it this way. 00:28:47.06\00:28:48.49 We just put it blunt. 00:28:48.52\00:28:50.96 For those health leaders out there 00:28:50.99\00:28:52.49 who are listening. 00:28:52.53\00:28:53.90 We just focus on improving a person's health and lifestyle 00:28:53.93\00:28:59.40 without looking for any avenues of their spiritual enhancement, 00:28:59.43\00:29:03.94 then all we're doing 00:29:03.97\00:29:05.34 is simply preparing healthy people for hell. 00:29:05.37\00:29:10.25 Oh. 00:29:10.28\00:29:11.61 Now that's deep. 00:29:11.65\00:29:12.98 We shouldn't stop there, 00:29:13.01\00:29:15.45 because although we're just simply doing health, 00:29:15.48\00:29:18.95 education, demonstrations, cooking classes, 00:29:18.99\00:29:22.42 but looking for no opportunities 00:29:22.46\00:29:23.86 for the spiritual component, 00:29:23.89\00:29:25.73 then what good is it? 00:29:25.76\00:29:27.16 So it's the evangelism with the health? 00:29:27.20\00:29:28.80 Right. 00:29:28.83\00:29:30.17 Otherwise it's just health information, 00:29:30.20\00:29:32.60 it's not evangelistic. 00:29:32.63\00:29:35.97 Here's the main thing. 00:29:36.00\00:29:38.14 In our church, Seventh-day Adventist Church, 00:29:38.17\00:29:41.01 the body is represented by the gospel of Jesus Christ. 00:29:41.04\00:29:45.41 That's the body, right? 00:29:45.45\00:29:47.72 The health ministry is the right arm. 00:29:47.75\00:29:50.39 Sure is. I believe that. 00:29:50.42\00:29:52.02 There's no other ministry 00:29:52.05\00:29:54.32 that has been given the name of a body part, 00:29:54.36\00:29:57.69 but health ministry. 00:29:57.73\00:30:00.76 Oh, wow. 00:30:00.80\00:30:02.13 Health ministry is the only 00:30:02.16\00:30:03.50 anyone that has a name of a body part,. 00:30:03.53\00:30:04.87 Yeah, the right arm. 00:30:04.90\00:30:06.23 So a lot of times we try to encourage churches 00:30:06.27\00:30:07.60 as South Central Conference Health Directors, 00:30:07.64\00:30:10.24 we want to help that arm firmly attach to the body. 00:30:10.27\00:30:16.44 No rotator cuff, no dislocated shoulder, 00:30:16.48\00:30:20.98 it should be firmly attached to the gospel of Jesus Christ, 00:30:21.02\00:30:25.35 the right arm. 00:30:25.39\00:30:26.72 So if you take Michael Jordan's right arm away from him, 00:30:26.76\00:30:31.23 he can still be effective, 00:30:31.26\00:30:33.73 but he cannot score as many points, 00:30:33.76\00:30:36.20 dribble as effectively or grab as many rebounds. 00:30:36.23\00:30:39.67 So his game would be very reduced level. 00:30:39.70\00:30:44.84 So if church doesn't have a very vibrant health ministry, 00:30:44.87\00:30:48.91 they can still be effective, 00:30:48.94\00:30:50.65 but never reach their potential. 00:30:50.68\00:30:53.01 So that's why the evangelism comes in, 00:30:53.05\00:30:56.12 not just the health of the people. 00:30:56.15\00:30:57.75 We do classes on diabetes, heart, blood pressure, 00:30:57.79\00:31:01.16 cholesterol, etc. 00:31:01.19\00:31:02.76 but without the component of ministry of evangelistic 00:31:02.79\00:31:06.09 Christ part of that, 00:31:06.13\00:31:07.76 then is fall short. 00:31:07.80\00:31:10.97 So your marriage started in ministry really? 00:31:11.00\00:31:13.30 Our marriage started in the ministry. 00:31:13.34\00:31:14.97 And then it grew 00:31:15.00\00:31:16.54 to this incredible ministry of health seminars 00:31:16.57\00:31:19.21 and working for the South Central Conference, 00:31:19.24\00:31:22.28 you're co-directors of health ministry 00:31:22.31\00:31:25.01 there you've been 12 years now? 00:31:25.05\00:31:26.61 Twelve years. Yeah, 12 years. 00:31:26.65\00:31:28.22 This is, South Central Conference, 00:31:28.25\00:31:30.65 they're about 50 conferences in the North American Division. 00:31:30.69\00:31:32.62 All right? 00:31:32.65\00:31:33.99 South Central is just one of those. 00:31:34.02\00:31:35.36 Yes. 00:31:35.39\00:31:36.73 And let me just say this up front here. 00:31:36.76\00:31:39.59 Alabama, South Central, 00:31:43.13\00:31:45.13 but particularly 00:31:45.17\00:31:46.50 Alabama lies in the heart of the cancer belt 00:31:46.53\00:31:51.64 and so therefore, 00:31:51.67\00:31:53.71 there's more deaths of cancer 00:31:53.74\00:31:55.44 than any other area of the country, in that area, 00:31:55.48\00:31:59.55 that region, Alabama, Mississippi, 00:31:59.58\00:32:01.08 Tennessee, etc. Right? 00:32:01.12\00:32:02.45 That's number one. 00:32:02.48\00:32:03.99 Number two. Diet related you think? 00:32:04.02\00:32:05.45 Diet related. 00:32:05.49\00:32:06.82 Number two, 00:32:06.86\00:32:08.19 Alabama is in the heart of the obesity belt. 00:32:08.22\00:32:11.23 Okay. All right? 00:32:11.26\00:32:12.69 And so we have one of the highest rates of obesity 00:32:12.73\00:32:15.73 in the nation. 00:32:15.76\00:32:17.20 Number three, 00:32:17.23\00:32:18.57 Alabama lies in the heart of the diabetes belt. 00:32:18.60\00:32:22.30 It has the second highest rate of diabetes in the nation 14.6. 00:32:22.34\00:32:28.01 And fourthly, 00:32:28.04\00:32:29.38 Alabama lies in the heart of the stroke belt. 00:32:29.41\00:32:34.22 Alabama has the second highest rate of stroke from death 00:32:34.25\00:32:38.12 to any other place in the nation. 00:32:38.15\00:32:39.92 So with all that said, 00:32:39.95\00:32:42.66 this organization called America's Health Rankings, 00:32:42.69\00:32:46.19 they do a rankings of states and their health. 00:32:46.23\00:32:48.73 And for 30 years, 00:32:48.76\00:32:50.10 a lot of policymakers are relying with them 00:32:50.13\00:32:52.30 as far as the status of their health 00:32:52.33\00:32:54.90 in each of the states of United States. 00:32:54.94\00:32:57.01 They have declared 00:32:57.04\00:32:58.51 this America's Health Rankings as 00:32:58.54\00:33:02.04 Alabama 00:33:02.08\00:33:03.51 is the most unhealthiest state in the country 00:33:03.55\00:33:08.72 where we live. 00:33:08.75\00:33:10.09 So if you have one is the best, 50 is the worst, it's 50. 00:33:10.12\00:33:12.55 Yeah, yeah. We're the most unhealthiest. 00:33:12.59\00:33:15.42 All right? 00:33:15.46\00:33:16.79 And so, and South Central takes in that territory. 00:33:16.83\00:33:21.46 So there's a wealth of needed information, 00:33:21.50\00:33:25.17 particularly in South Central in the south, 00:33:25.20\00:33:27.80 and particularly more specifically, 00:33:27.84\00:33:30.64 in the state of Alabama. 00:33:30.67\00:33:34.21 So that's where, 00:33:34.24\00:33:35.58 and that component of health 00:33:35.61\00:33:38.08 opens up the door for evangelism as well. 00:33:38.11\00:33:41.82 Amen. 00:33:41.85\00:33:43.32 You're thinking about the other face to the ministry. 00:33:43.35\00:33:45.12 Oh, me too. 00:33:45.15\00:33:46.72 I think we kind of think what each other reminiscent. 00:33:46.76\00:33:48.09 We do. 00:33:48.12\00:33:49.46 Yeah, you're talking about knowing what each other 00:33:49.49\00:33:50.83 are gonna say? 00:33:50.86\00:33:52.19 So this is exciting, 00:33:52.23\00:33:53.56 because we talked about an update 00:33:53.60\00:33:54.93 to the Ministry of Paula and Curtis Eakins, 00:33:54.96\00:33:56.30 I tell you what? 00:33:56.33\00:33:57.67 This is a good transition to that right now, 00:33:57.70\00:33:59.03 if you guys don't mind 00:33:59.07\00:34:00.40 'cause talking about the state of Alabama 00:34:00.44\00:34:01.80 and the health issues. 00:34:01.84\00:34:03.27 God has opened an incredible door. 00:34:03.30\00:34:05.91 We were on the phone with him, 00:34:05.94\00:34:07.28 oh, what a month or two ago or so. 00:34:07.31\00:34:09.14 And this is recent up-to-date stuff that's happening 00:34:09.18\00:34:11.91 and God is doing marvelous things. 00:34:11.95\00:34:14.12 So tell us what God is doing 00:34:14.15\00:34:15.48 because this is a miracle right now 00:34:15.52\00:34:17.19 in the making right now. 00:34:17.22\00:34:18.55 Okay, so let me just set this up. 00:34:18.59\00:34:20.26 Let me, I think we have a quote. 00:34:20.29\00:34:22.99 Let's have the first cookbook up on screen 00:34:23.02\00:34:25.19 because it kind of seals the deal here, 00:34:25.23\00:34:26.80 fulfilling the need. 00:34:26.83\00:34:28.33 This is a book Evangelism, page 525. 00:34:28.36\00:34:30.73 I just want to kind of massage this 00:34:30.77\00:34:32.57 just for a little while. 00:34:32.60\00:34:33.94 The very first word is critical. 00:34:33.97\00:34:37.31 "Thousands." 00:34:37.34\00:34:38.97 I want to emphasize some words. 00:34:39.01\00:34:40.94 "Thousands 00:34:40.98\00:34:42.61 would gladly receive instruction 00:34:42.64\00:34:48.28 concerning instruction, 00:34:48.32\00:34:50.92 teaching 00:34:50.95\00:34:52.72 demonstration 00:34:52.75\00:34:54.82 classes concerning," 00:34:54.86\00:34:56.19 what? 00:34:56.22\00:34:57.56 "Natural methods of treating the sick 00:34:57.59\00:35:01.50 instead of poisonous drugs." 00:35:01.53\00:35:06.03 Thousands, thousands, 00:35:06.07\00:35:09.77 the rate of drugs has escalated, 00:35:09.80\00:35:12.67 trajectory is increasing at an increasing rate 00:35:12.71\00:35:15.64 with the bell for side effects, 00:35:15.68\00:35:18.21 not just the side effects, 00:35:18.25\00:35:19.58 but some of the most awesome commercials 00:35:19.61\00:35:21.05 we get a chuckle 00:35:21.08\00:35:22.42 when our drug commercial comes on television. 00:35:22.45\00:35:24.59 And again, no side effects? Yeah, really. 00:35:24.62\00:35:26.39 I mean, that's like 80% of the drug commercial, 00:35:26.42\00:35:28.49 like, you know, 00:35:28.52\00:35:29.86 people just smiling, happy, but you know, so, 00:35:29.89\00:35:31.96 but 1000 will be glad. 00:35:31.99\00:35:33.33 We get calls all the time. 00:35:33.36\00:35:34.96 I have blood pressure or diabetes or cancer, 00:35:35.00\00:35:38.73 is anything natural I can do 00:35:38.77\00:35:40.87 because I do not want to go on Metformin. 00:35:40.90\00:35:43.71 I do not wanna take statin drugs. 00:35:43.74\00:35:45.74 I do not want to take steroids. 00:35:45.77\00:35:47.84 Do you have anything natural? 00:35:47.88\00:35:49.84 Thousands. 00:35:49.88\00:35:51.81 Thousands. 00:35:51.85\00:35:53.18 And where we are, 00:35:53.21\00:35:54.55 this is not something we brag on. 00:35:54.58\00:35:55.92 But we live 00:35:55.95\00:35:57.29 in the most unhealthiest state in the United States, Alabama. 00:35:57.32\00:36:02.06 So with that, 00:36:02.09\00:36:03.43 we move more into health ministry 00:36:03.46\00:36:05.49 into the hotels, 00:36:05.53\00:36:08.33 Marriott, Embassy Suites. 00:36:08.36\00:36:10.77 We take the health messages out of the church 00:36:10.80\00:36:14.04 into the community. 00:36:14.07\00:36:15.97 Excellent. 00:36:16.00\00:36:17.34 I think we have picture on that. 00:36:17.37\00:36:18.71 You may want to talk on that too with the next graphic. 00:36:18.74\00:36:20.28 Let's go with one picture we did. 00:36:20.31\00:36:21.64 Sure. Let's do it. 00:36:21.68\00:36:23.01 This picture here. 00:36:23.04\00:36:24.38 This is the healthy heart conference 00:36:24.41\00:36:26.38 we did in Huntsville, Alabama. 00:36:26.41\00:36:28.68 And we've done several of these throughout the state, 00:36:28.72\00:36:32.19 Birmingham. 00:36:32.22\00:36:33.56 Lots of people there. 00:36:33.59\00:36:34.92 There are over 100, close to 150 there. 00:36:34.96\00:36:37.69 They came from over two hours away. 00:36:37.73\00:36:40.10 And this is a three hour conference, 00:36:40.13\00:36:43.16 PowerPoint. 00:36:43.20\00:36:44.53 We have handouts or worksheet and everything. 00:36:44.57\00:36:47.17 And we have the nurses, 00:36:47.20\00:36:48.54 they're taking blood pressure as well. 00:36:48.57\00:36:50.71 And so we've done this. 00:36:50.74\00:36:52.44 When we move the health message 00:36:52.47\00:36:55.21 out of the churches 00:36:55.24\00:36:57.11 into the community are increased, 00:36:57.15\00:37:00.22 other community increases a minimum of 30%. 00:37:00.25\00:37:04.75 That's a minimum 30%. 00:37:04.79\00:37:06.49 A minimum of 30% 00:37:06.52\00:37:08.29 when it's moved in the community 00:37:08.32\00:37:09.92 where the people are, right? 00:37:09.96\00:37:12.59 This is less stressful. 00:37:12.63\00:37:13.96 If they don't want to go to a church, 00:37:14.00\00:37:15.33 but they would go to community. 00:37:15.36\00:37:16.70 What happens to is that fact that 00:37:16.73\00:37:18.20 we had the flyers 00:37:18.23\00:37:19.57 and everything's out there ahead of time, 00:37:19.60\00:37:21.04 the church becomes the host. 00:37:21.07\00:37:23.00 So we're coming in as the speakers. 00:37:23.04\00:37:24.87 So that means when we leave, 00:37:24.91\00:37:26.24 the host church still gets to talk to the people. 00:37:26.27\00:37:28.84 That's evangelism. We have the Bible workers. 00:37:28.88\00:37:30.45 You're talking evangelism. 00:37:30.48\00:37:31.81 Bible workers are on board. 00:37:31.85\00:37:33.55 We have a Bible study, while they're actually with us, 00:37:33.58\00:37:36.18 which is the health message one of our tracts. 00:37:36.22\00:37:38.22 They get to do the Bible study, 00:37:38.25\00:37:39.72 and they have to bring the tract to the church 00:37:39.75\00:37:43.09 for the second part of the program. 00:37:43.12\00:37:45.16 The Amazing Facts tract on health. 00:37:45.19\00:37:49.20 So they get it Saturday 00:37:49.23\00:37:51.13 and then come to church, part two. 00:37:51.17\00:37:52.93 Sunday. Sunday, we fill it out. 00:37:52.97\00:37:55.07 So now we take them through and walk them through 00:37:55.10\00:37:57.01 a Bible study on day two. 00:37:57.04\00:37:59.87 As in a church takes those tracts 00:37:59.91\00:38:01.91 and then go with the other Bible studies 00:38:01.94\00:38:04.08 and now you have 00:38:04.11\00:38:05.45 a whole series of Amazing Facts, 00:38:05.48\00:38:06.98 all 14 lessons. 00:38:07.02\00:38:08.72 It was started with the message of health first. 00:38:08.75\00:38:11.09 So what happens is that 00:38:11.12\00:38:12.45 they know they're going to get a gift. 00:38:12.49\00:38:13.82 They're going to get a gift 00:38:13.86\00:38:15.19 if they finished the study, right? 00:38:15.22\00:38:16.56 So guess what the gift is? 00:38:16.59\00:38:17.93 3ABN pins. 00:38:17.96\00:38:19.29 Really? Let's go to that roll right now. 00:39:49.95\00:39:51.72 Paula and her husband Curtis 00:39:51.75\00:39:54.86 put on with about health 00:39:54.89\00:39:56.22 because I learned something new every single time. 00:39:56.26\00:39:59.79 My biggest takeaway this time was about red grapes, 00:39:59.83\00:40:03.50 about how they helped to heal the heart and everything. 00:40:03.53\00:40:07.50 I just was amazed by that. 00:40:07.54\00:40:09.10 Learning about strokes, hearts, how to prevent them, 00:40:09.14\00:40:12.37 eating more healthy food, eating non processed food. 00:40:12.41\00:40:15.71 If it has a label, don't eat it. 00:40:15.74\00:40:18.71 Eat the stuff that's healthy, that stuff you go for. 00:40:18.75\00:40:21.35 And I love their conference, 00:40:21.38\00:40:23.05 you can come more than one time, 00:40:23.08\00:40:24.75 more than two times, 00:40:24.79\00:40:26.12 and you're still gonna leave with information 00:40:26.15\00:40:27.49 you never even knew you knew. 00:40:27.52\00:40:28.86 They tell you nothing is free. 00:40:28.89\00:40:30.69 Boy, you missed it 00:40:30.73\00:40:32.06 if you did not come to this conference. 00:40:32.09\00:40:33.53 It was awesome. 00:40:33.56\00:40:34.90 So much good and free information. 00:40:34.93\00:40:37.37 To God be the glory. 00:40:37.40\00:40:38.77 We need more of this, 00:40:38.80\00:40:40.30 but it should not always be free. 00:40:40.34\00:40:42.10 So I heard things that I know 00:40:42.14\00:40:43.67 that I'm going to use immediately. 00:40:43.71\00:40:46.51 The ginger, 00:40:46.54\00:40:48.04 the hawthorn, I never had heard of that. 00:40:48.08\00:40:50.05 Just natural ways 00:40:50.08\00:40:51.41 to get your blood pressure down. 00:40:51.45\00:40:53.58 Eating the right things. 00:40:53.62\00:40:55.12 I probably knew that part. I just keep ignoring it. 00:40:55.15\00:40:57.72 But I feel like it kind of shook me up enough 00:40:57.75\00:41:00.26 to where I'm like, 00:41:00.29\00:41:01.62 I got to do something different. 00:41:01.66\00:41:03.19 So I just encourage you, 00:41:03.22\00:41:04.83 everybody, it was so well attended. 00:41:04.86\00:41:06.90 So everybody, 00:41:06.93\00:41:08.46 certainly make sure you get this information. 00:41:08.50\00:41:10.23 It is literally life changing. 00:41:10.27\00:41:14.04 Wow. 00:41:14.07\00:41:15.40 Great testimonies. Yeah. 00:45:49.61\00:45:51.11 Indoor and outdoor, all right. 00:45:51.15\00:45:52.61 So on the same property, all right? 00:45:52.65\00:45:54.55 Let's go to the next picture, all right. 00:45:54.58\00:45:56.48 And so now this is the back. 00:45:56.52\00:45:58.89 Now you notice here, it is surrounded by trees, 00:45:58.92\00:46:03.16 cedar trees is carved out on a mountain, 00:46:03.19\00:46:08.86 looking over everything. 00:46:08.90\00:46:10.57 And so therefore, 00:46:10.60\00:46:12.03 that picture there on the left side 00:46:12.07\00:46:13.60 would be our garden bed, 00:46:13.64\00:46:17.11 raised garden bed will be class instruction. 00:46:17.14\00:46:19.57 And talk just little about that, Honey? 00:46:19.61\00:46:21.08 The raised garden bed is important 00:46:21.11\00:46:22.44 because we don't only want them to learn how to cook, 00:46:22.48\00:46:24.58 we want them to learn how to be self sufficient. 00:46:24.61\00:46:26.15 Good. 00:46:26.18\00:46:27.52 So the Lord blessed that 00:46:27.55\00:46:28.88 when I was going through my cancer experience, 00:46:28.92\00:46:30.25 I had the opportunity to be a part of a grant 00:46:30.29\00:46:32.29 that was done by the Cancer Society 00:46:32.32\00:46:34.56 where I was selected along with others 00:46:34.59\00:46:36.93 to actually learn how to do a garden, 00:46:36.96\00:46:39.06 a raised bed garden. 00:46:39.09\00:46:40.80 Not only to be raised that we had three master gardeners 00:46:40.83\00:46:43.53 that came out every single month, 00:46:43.57\00:46:45.23 and I had to put the soil in the ground 00:46:45.27\00:46:47.34 and put the plants in the ground. 00:46:47.37\00:46:48.70 They came in watching everything. 00:46:48.74\00:46:50.07 And so we actually did a summer, a winter, 00:46:50.11\00:46:52.37 a fall and a spring garden. 00:46:52.41\00:46:54.88 Learning how to eat all year round, 00:46:54.91\00:46:56.68 come out your back door, 00:46:56.71\00:46:58.05 get your collard greens, come out the back door 00:46:58.08\00:46:59.41 get your lettuce and tomatoes, 00:46:59.45\00:47:00.78 everything, this blows your mind. 00:47:00.82\00:47:02.25 And then it was because of all the people 00:47:02.28\00:47:04.32 who were involved. 00:47:04.35\00:47:05.69 I was selected from Alabama public television 00:47:05.72\00:47:07.96 to do a special program showing about that. 00:47:07.99\00:47:11.03 And you know, it was plant-based, right? 00:47:11.06\00:47:12.39 So you know why they were there. 00:47:12.43\00:47:13.76 I had to make some scrambled tofu 00:47:13.80\00:47:15.50 with the stuff out the garden and gave them a smoothie. 00:47:15.53\00:47:17.53 They were like, "We didn't expect all that." 00:47:17.57\00:47:18.97 But so, God is awesome. 00:47:19.00\00:47:21.20 So there's a place on this property, 00:47:21.24\00:47:22.80 how many acres really quick? 00:47:22.84\00:47:24.17 Fourteen acres. Fourteen acres. 00:47:24.21\00:47:25.54 So that was the back of the home and pavilion. 00:47:25.57\00:47:28.24 So on the left side would be our raised garden bed, 00:47:28.28\00:47:31.01 and also a greenhouse. 00:47:31.05\00:47:32.95 So that would be more of the instruction as well 00:47:32.98\00:47:35.38 as far as that's concern. 00:47:35.42\00:47:36.75 So therefore, now if the crock is too big, 00:47:36.79\00:47:39.15 and it will, we just expect, 00:47:39.19\00:47:41.32 I mean, God's gonna do more than 00:47:41.36\00:47:42.82 we can even ask or think. 00:47:42.86\00:47:44.69 Yes. 00:47:44.73\00:47:46.06 Therefore, on a property... Yes. 00:47:46.09\00:47:49.46 We're expecting something big. 00:47:49.50\00:47:50.83 All right. Let's go to the next picture. 00:47:50.87\00:47:53.80 We gonna primed up, Honey. 00:47:53.84\00:47:56.14 So now this is a store shed. 00:47:56.17\00:47:59.47 We would simply transform, give this a major facelift, 00:47:59.51\00:48:04.21 transform this into our main convention center, 00:48:04.25\00:48:08.48 conference center right there on property. 00:48:08.52\00:48:11.39 The Abundant Living Conference Center. 00:48:11.42\00:48:13.49 Yes. Wow. 00:48:13.52\00:48:14.86 Fifteen hundred acre, I mean, 1500 square foot. 00:48:14.89\00:48:18.49 Yes. Yes. Right. 00:48:18.53\00:48:19.89 So the middle section would be the conference itself, 00:48:19.93\00:48:22.70 elevated stage. 00:48:22.73\00:48:24.07 Right. 00:48:24.10\00:48:25.43 And cooking stations separate. 00:48:25.47\00:48:26.80 Over the other side 00:48:26.84\00:48:28.17 would be the seminar lecture demonstration. 00:48:28.20\00:48:30.31 The far building that distance 00:48:30.34\00:48:32.21 would be the Abundant Living store, 00:48:32.24\00:48:34.78 the one on the closer to you because there's three sections 00:48:34.81\00:48:37.91 would be the Abundant Living Fitness Center. 00:48:37.95\00:48:40.62 Yes. 00:48:40.65\00:48:41.98 All on property total of 1500 acre. 00:48:42.02\00:48:45.62 So God has ample room for us to grow as well, 00:48:45.65\00:48:49.72 the Abundant Living Center. 00:48:49.76\00:48:51.33 Yes. 00:48:51.36\00:48:52.69 A state that needs it 00:48:52.73\00:48:54.06 more than any other state, Alabama. 00:48:54.10\00:48:58.47 But it's also open to anybody 00:48:58.50\00:48:59.93 because people always call us and say, 00:48:59.97\00:49:01.67 "I wish I live where you guys live. 00:49:01.70\00:49:03.30 I'd love to come and just, 00:49:03.34\00:49:04.67 I'm just going through so much." 00:49:04.71\00:49:06.17 So we won't know on our property 00:49:06.21\00:49:07.64 that we will also have areas 00:49:07.68\00:49:09.01 where they can sit down and rest a while 00:49:09.04\00:49:11.08 and talk to the Lord and just, 00:49:11.11\00:49:13.21 we want them to refresh themselves 00:49:13.25\00:49:14.78 and know that 00:49:14.82\00:49:16.15 whatever their battle they're going through, 00:49:16.18\00:49:17.59 whether it's nutrition, physical, physical, spiritual, 00:49:17.62\00:49:20.09 mental, social, 00:49:20.12\00:49:21.46 whatever's going on, when they leave that place, 00:49:21.49\00:49:23.69 they will leave ready to go back 00:49:23.73\00:49:26.29 to whatever they're doing out there. 00:49:26.33\00:49:28.33 So you're mentioning a word here future. 00:49:28.36\00:49:31.63 So tell us why you're saying future? 00:49:31.67\00:49:33.50 Well, because we don't have it yet, 00:49:33.54\00:49:34.87 that's why we say future. 00:49:34.90\00:49:36.24 We're claiming it. 00:49:36.27\00:49:37.61 God is working, exactly. 00:49:37.64\00:49:38.97 And so what we want to do we want to ask people 00:49:39.01\00:49:40.41 who are watching to pray with us. 00:49:40.44\00:49:44.58 God's word, well not God's word, 00:49:44.61\00:49:46.48 But Ellen White mentioned, 00:49:46.51\00:49:47.85 make a statement that 00:49:47.88\00:49:49.25 sometimes properties are available 00:49:49.28\00:49:51.75 far below the market value. 00:49:51.79\00:49:55.49 Yes, yes. 00:49:55.52\00:49:56.86 We have a prime example of Loma Linda in California. 00:49:56.89\00:49:59.33 That's right. 00:49:59.36\00:50:00.70 We gonna do the same there, 00:50:00.73\00:50:02.06 pray with the boss that is concerned 00:50:02.10\00:50:03.43 and those who want to contribute 00:50:03.47\00:50:04.97 a partnership in this venture as well. 00:50:05.00\00:50:07.00 I think we have a roll later on about our address 00:50:07.04\00:50:09.37 and how they can contact us as well. 00:50:09.40\00:50:11.54 And I've just finished a business plan as well, 00:50:11.57\00:50:13.68 present that as well. 00:50:13.71\00:50:15.04 So therefore, we're just claiming these, 00:50:15.08\00:50:17.15 we just want to share this. 00:50:17.18\00:50:18.61 And thank you for allowing us 00:50:18.65\00:50:19.98 to share our ministry with the 3ABN audience. 00:50:20.02\00:50:21.95 This is exciting.
