Thanks. 00:09:21.59\00:09:22.92 And thank you, Ryan. This is great. 00:09:22.96\00:09:24.33 We have our main website is WhiteHorseMedia.com. 00:09:24.36\00:09:28.06 We picked the name of White Horse 00:09:28.10\00:09:29.73 because of Revelation 19 00:09:29.76\00:09:31.73 that describes Jesus coming on a white horse 00:09:31.77\00:09:34.14 to crush all the forces of evil, 00:09:34.17\00:09:36.67 all the world forces of the devil. 00:09:36.71\00:09:38.64 So we have an office in Priest River, Idaho. 00:09:38.67\00:09:41.61 I live there too, next door to the office. 00:09:41.64\00:09:44.48 We have a great staff. We have a team. 00:09:44.51\00:09:46.48 We have big studio, 00:09:46.51\00:09:47.85 we produce programs on a whole host of topics. 00:09:47.88\00:09:51.55 A number of us traveling hold seminars. 00:09:51.59\00:09:53.96 Our goal is to help people to get ready 00:09:53.99\00:09:56.76 for the coming of Jesus, 00:09:56.79\00:09:58.39 to know about His love, His power, His word, His truth. 00:09:58.43\00:10:03.83 And so that's what we're all about. 00:10:03.87\00:10:05.80 And I love 3ABN, I've been here many times. 00:10:05.83\00:10:07.80 Our programs have been on 3ABN in the past 00:10:07.84\00:10:09.77 and will be in the future. 00:10:09.80\00:10:11.61 And so, it's just, 00:10:11.64\00:10:12.97 it's great to fly into St. Louis, 00:10:13.01\00:10:14.81 get my rental car drive here, 00:10:14.84\00:10:16.68 and have this chance to be with you. 00:10:16.71\00:10:18.15 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:10:18.18\00:10:19.51 I have turned 3ABN on many times 00:10:19.55\00:10:22.18 and seeing you on there and doing programming. 00:10:22.22\00:10:24.52 And you're also an author. 00:10:24.55\00:10:26.42 You've authored and published many different books, 00:10:26.45\00:10:28.99 and maybe tell us about something about 00:10:29.02\00:10:30.96 maybe some new projects 00:10:30.99\00:10:32.33 or something you've done lately? 00:10:32.36\00:10:33.70 Well, yeah, I never planned on being a writer. 00:10:33.73\00:10:35.96 But God has just moved me into this. 00:10:36.00\00:10:39.27 And I think the count is somewhere around 00:10:39.30\00:10:41.10 40 books I've written. 00:10:41.14\00:10:43.00 You have a couple of them there. 00:10:43.04\00:10:46.37 And the Lord has just, He's been so good to me. 00:10:46.41\00:10:48.94 I've written on a variety of topics. 00:10:48.98\00:10:51.28 The newest one is you have is called 00:10:51.31\00:10:53.28 "Approaching Armageddon, " 00:10:53.31\00:10:54.92 which is our brand new book, just came out this week. 00:10:54.95\00:10:57.59 That's right. This is right here. 00:10:57.62\00:10:58.95 And then the subtitle is 00:10:58.99\00:11:00.32 "Discover Hope beyond Earth's Final Battle." 00:11:00.36\00:11:02.86 And it's all about 00:11:02.89\00:11:04.23 basically what's happening in the world, 00:11:04.26\00:11:05.59 this crazy world, 00:11:05.63\00:11:06.96 all the signs and the mayhem and the violence 00:11:07.00\00:11:09.10 and sexual immorality and a whole host of things. 00:11:09.13\00:11:12.73 And that book, first of all, 00:11:12.77\00:11:14.60 builds confidence in the Bible that the Bible is true, 00:11:14.64\00:11:17.27 that there were prophecies in the past 00:11:17.31\00:11:19.27 that were fulfilled in the past exactly. 00:11:19.31\00:11:22.54 And we can have confidence that what it says about 00:11:22.58\00:11:24.48 what's happening today, 00:11:24.51\00:11:25.91 that's real, 00:11:25.95\00:11:27.28 and what it says about the future, 00:11:27.32\00:11:28.65 about Jesus coming 00:11:28.68\00:11:30.02 and how God's going to get rid of sin. 00:11:30.05\00:11:31.45 It's all in one little book Approaching Armageddon. 00:11:31.49\00:11:34.36 So that's our newest, our newest work. 00:11:34.39\00:11:36.19 And then we're going to tell you 00:11:36.22\00:11:37.56 how to get a copy of this 00:11:37.59\00:11:38.93 or how you can get a copy of this later in the program. 00:11:38.96\00:11:41.40 Let's talk about another project you have 00:11:41.43\00:11:42.90 or at least published project here. 00:11:42.93\00:11:45.43 Climate change 00:11:45.47\00:11:46.80 is at the end of the world, right? 00:11:46.84\00:11:48.17 I just did a 3ABN Radio interview 00:11:48.20\00:11:50.01 on that topic earlier today. 00:11:50.04\00:11:51.61 And that book deals 00:11:51.64\00:11:52.97 with the huge movement these days, 00:11:53.01\00:11:56.31 the climate change movement. 00:11:56.34\00:11:58.25 There's hardly a disaster that hits this planet 00:11:58.28\00:12:01.12 that is not connected by many people 00:12:01.15\00:12:03.32 to climate change. 00:12:03.35\00:12:04.69 And so that book 00:12:04.72\00:12:06.05 kind of examines that whole issue. 00:12:06.09\00:12:07.42 And then it talks about 00:12:07.46\00:12:08.79 the ultimate climate change is coming, 00:12:08.82\00:12:11.03 and Jesus comes and it says, in 2 Peter, 00:12:11.06\00:12:14.43 the heavens and the earth will be on fire. 00:12:14.46\00:12:16.97 And that's real global warming, 00:12:17.00\00:12:19.10 and God's going to completely get rid of sin. 00:12:19.13\00:12:21.57 And then He's going to create a new heaven 00:12:21.60\00:12:22.94 and a new earth 00:12:22.97\00:12:24.31 where there's not going to be any sin, 00:12:24.34\00:12:25.67 suffering, sorrow or death. 00:12:25.71\00:12:27.04 And that book kind of looks at the big picture 00:12:27.08\00:12:29.24 and ultimately focuses on the fact 00:12:29.28\00:12:31.38 that man cannot solve its own problems. 00:12:31.41\00:12:34.78 You know, that we need a divine solution, 00:12:34.82\00:12:37.32 we need Jesus. 00:12:37.35\00:12:38.69 So that's one of our many pocketbooks. 00:12:38.72\00:12:40.79 I think I've taught, 00:12:40.82\00:12:42.16 I've mentioned to you 00:12:42.19\00:12:43.53 that I have another book that's not, 00:12:43.56\00:12:44.89 it's in production. 00:12:44.93\00:12:46.26 And it's called 00:12:46.29\00:12:47.63 "The Bloody Woman and the Seven Headed Beast," 00:12:47.66\00:12:50.13 which is a Bible study 00:12:50.17\00:12:51.50 of the Book of Revelation Chapter 17, 00:12:51.53\00:12:53.60 the woman riding this creature. 00:12:53.64\00:12:56.10 So that's coming, 00:12:56.14\00:12:57.51 and we've got a lot of different projects. 00:12:57.54\00:12:59.37 We have another project that we're working on. 00:12:59.41\00:13:01.64 It's a production called, "The Crowning Act, " 00:13:01.68\00:13:04.08 which is to expose 00:13:04.11\00:13:06.51 Satan's crowning act of personating Jesus 00:13:06.55\00:13:10.89 during the final crisis. 00:13:10.92\00:13:13.12 So we're working on that right now. 00:13:13.15\00:13:15.19 And that should be ready 00:13:15.22\00:13:16.56 as probably a one hour docudrama. 00:13:16.59\00:13:19.53 And it's going to be very powerful, 00:13:19.56\00:13:21.23 it's pointing to the real Jesus 00:13:21.26\00:13:22.86 who's going to come in the clouds. 00:13:22.90\00:13:24.33 He's not going to walk around on the earth and do miracles. 00:13:24.37\00:13:26.67 Praise the Lord. Amen. Absolutely. 00:13:26.70\00:13:28.30 We know it's going to be a blessing 00:13:28.34\00:13:29.67 and I've read several of your books, 00:13:29.70\00:13:31.27 have several of your books in my library at home, 00:13:31.31\00:13:33.51 and I know your ministry is going to be a blessing. 00:13:33.54\00:13:36.38 These projects are going to be a blessing to many of you. 00:13:36.41\00:13:38.35 We'll talk as I said a little bit more 00:13:38.38\00:13:39.85 about how you can get a hold of those projects 00:13:39.88\00:13:42.78 toward the end of this presentation. 00:13:42.82\00:13:44.15 But I have another book here that when I first looked at it, 00:13:44.19\00:13:47.99 I thought, oh, this is interesting. 00:13:48.02\00:13:50.09 But this kind of sets us up 00:13:50.13\00:13:51.46 for what you've come to talk to us about today 00:13:51.49\00:13:53.96 and to educate me and many of you at home about. 00:13:54.00\00:13:57.60 We have a book here entitled, "Sprout Power." 00:13:57.63\00:14:00.47 Tell us a little bit about that? 00:14:00.50\00:14:01.90 And then you can kind of set us up for our discussion 00:14:01.94\00:14:04.34 this evening or today? 00:14:04.37\00:14:05.71 Right. 00:14:05.74\00:14:07.08 And Sprout Power is about 00:14:07.11\00:14:08.44 the incredible health benefits of growing sprouts 00:14:08.48\00:14:11.21 and microgreens. 00:14:11.25\00:14:12.58 And as I thought about our interview normally 00:14:12.61\00:14:14.08 when I come to 3ABN and do programs, 00:14:14.12\00:14:16.55 you know, I'm in my suit, my tie, 00:14:16.58\00:14:18.22 as you are which is, which is great and appropriate. 00:14:18.25\00:14:21.02 But I thought to myself, you know, 00:14:21.06\00:14:22.76 our topic specifically in this segment 00:14:22.79\00:14:26.13 is going to be on health and on how to, 00:14:26.16\00:14:28.06 you know, get your hands into growing sprouts 00:14:28.10\00:14:30.33 and microgreens 00:14:30.37\00:14:31.70 and things like wheatgrass 00:14:31.73\00:14:33.17 and alfalfa and broccoli and clover. 00:14:33.20\00:14:35.37 And so I thought, 00:14:35.40\00:14:36.74 I think I'm going to forego the tie 00:14:36.77\00:14:38.11 and wear my green shirt, so. 00:14:38.14\00:14:39.77 Right. 00:14:39.81\00:14:41.14 Now it looks good, looks good. 00:14:41.18\00:14:42.51 I was telling you, you look like you're about to, 00:14:42.54\00:14:43.88 you're ready to go out into the garden any moment, 00:14:43.91\00:14:45.25 so you're good. 00:14:45.28\00:14:46.61 Yeah. And I have a big garden. 00:14:46.65\00:14:47.98 I live in North Idaho 00:14:48.02\00:14:49.35 and we don't have a big long growing season 00:14:49.38\00:14:50.72 because, you know, it gets winter and spring 00:14:50.75\00:14:52.85 and then summer and, but I've got, 00:14:52.89\00:14:54.76 I still got tomatoes growing 00:14:54.79\00:14:56.29 and some Swiss chard and some kale, 00:14:56.32\00:14:58.26 and I've got a lot of fruit trees, plums 00:14:58.29\00:15:00.63 and there's just nothing like picking, 00:15:00.66\00:15:03.60 you know, an apple or a pear or a plum 00:15:03.63\00:15:06.60 from your own fruit tree. 00:15:06.63\00:15:08.70 It's just, it's a blessing. 00:15:08.74\00:15:10.41 But sprouting is been a big part of my life and... 00:15:10.44\00:15:13.81 Yeah, so can you give us a little bit of background 00:15:13.84\00:15:16.41 on how you came, 00:15:16.44\00:15:17.78 became so interested in sprouting, 00:15:17.81\00:15:21.05 and kind of set this up 00:15:21.08\00:15:22.42 because give us a little bit of access. 00:15:22.45\00:15:23.79 So what brought about the interest 00:15:23.82\00:15:25.15 to the in sprouting for you? 00:15:25.19\00:15:26.52 Yeah. 00:15:26.55\00:15:27.89 And, you know, before I do that, 00:15:27.92\00:15:29.26 let's just put a picture of the book on the screen 00:15:29.29\00:15:30.63 and then we'll put a picture of me 00:15:30.66\00:15:32.69 surrounded by all these sprouts. 00:15:32.73\00:15:34.50 Okay, there's Sprout Power, a little pocketbook. 00:15:34.53\00:15:37.00 And now let's go to the next one 00:15:37.03\00:15:38.50 that shows me 00:15:38.53\00:15:39.87 surrounded by all these sprouts. 00:15:39.90\00:15:41.24 Just to let people know that, yes, I really do, do this. 00:15:41.27\00:15:44.84 That's me and my kids. 00:15:44.87\00:15:46.71 My kids are eating sunflower greens there. 00:15:46.74\00:15:49.28 And, so I've been doing this for over 40 years 00:15:49.31\00:15:54.82 as you mentioned, 00:15:54.85\00:15:56.18 you know, you didn't grew up in the church, 00:15:56.22\00:15:57.55 and I didn't either. 00:15:57.59\00:15:58.92 I grew up in North Hollywood studio city, 00:15:58.95\00:16:01.06 Southern California, and I lived a wild life. 00:16:01.09\00:16:03.76 I grew up in a very secular Jewish home. 00:16:03.79\00:16:05.89 And as a teenager, I just took the plunge 00:16:05.93\00:16:08.66 into a wildlife of the parties and the concerts, 00:16:08.70\00:16:12.90 and the discos and drugs. 00:16:12.93\00:16:15.60 And somewhere during my teenage years, 00:16:15.64\00:16:18.87 I started thinking about health 00:16:18.91\00:16:21.94 and how, you know, 00:16:21.98\00:16:23.55 because I was doing all these crazy things, 00:16:23.58\00:16:26.05 I needed to make sure that I didn't, 00:16:26.08\00:16:28.02 you know, fall over and die. 00:16:28.05\00:16:30.12 And that I needed to be concerned 00:16:30.15\00:16:31.49 about my health as well. 00:16:31.52\00:16:32.85 And it seems strange, you know, 00:16:32.89\00:16:34.22 I'm going to the discos, staying up to four, 00:16:34.26\00:16:35.86 four o'clock in the morning or using drugs 00:16:35.89\00:16:38.39 and thinking about health. 00:16:38.43\00:16:39.76 But again, you know, 00:16:39.79\00:16:41.13 I didn't know anything about God, 00:16:41.16\00:16:42.50 I wasn't thinking about the Bible, 00:16:42.53\00:16:43.87 I was just thinking about doing something for my body. 00:16:43.90\00:16:46.40 And somehow, in that course of time, 00:16:46.43\00:16:49.80 as a teenager, I learned 00:16:49.84\00:16:51.74 about the incredible health benefits 00:16:51.77\00:16:53.98 of growing your own sprouts and microgreens. 00:16:54.01\00:16:56.38 So I began to do this in my bedroom. 00:16:56.41\00:17:01.22 And I learned how to do this, 00:17:01.25\00:17:02.95 and I read books on sprouting 00:17:02.98\00:17:04.95 and so I would grow 00:17:04.99\00:17:06.69 all these sprouts in my room or in my, 00:17:06.72\00:17:08.79 in my bathroom, in the kitchen sometimes. 00:17:08.82\00:17:11.26 And I would create these massive sprout salads 00:17:11.29\00:17:15.36 that were just raw, organic, 00:17:15.40\00:17:17.80 no spray, no pesticides, living, 00:17:17.83\00:17:21.27 and I put avocado and lemon, 00:17:21.30\00:17:23.61 and some seasonings 00:17:23.64\00:17:25.67 and I would just devour these sprout salads. 00:17:25.71\00:17:28.94 And, oh, man, I tell you they were good. 00:17:28.98\00:17:31.65 And I can't say for sure, 00:17:31.68\00:17:34.08 but I think that one of the things 00:17:34.12\00:17:36.89 that got me through my teenage years 00:17:36.92\00:17:38.89 or helped me to maintain my health 00:17:38.92\00:17:41.96 was the fact 00:17:41.99\00:17:43.32 that I was growing a lot of sprouts. 00:17:43.36\00:17:44.93 And I've continued to do this even, 00:17:44.96\00:17:47.40 you know, after I became a Christian at the age of 20, 00:17:47.43\00:17:49.66 which was 41 years ago, I continued to sprout. 00:17:49.70\00:17:53.94 And I learned more about health, 00:17:53.97\00:17:55.34 about what people call the eight laws of health, 00:17:55.37\00:17:57.94 you know, the NEWSTART program, 00:17:57.97\00:17:59.57 nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, air, 00:17:59.61\00:18:04.38 rest and trust in God. 00:18:04.41\00:18:06.28 And the N for NEWSTART, which comes to nutrition, 00:18:06.31\00:18:10.65 the word nutrition. 00:18:10.69\00:18:12.62 There's hardly anything 00:18:12.65\00:18:15.26 that you can put into your body 00:18:15.29\00:18:17.63 that has more nutritional punch and power 00:18:17.66\00:18:21.26 than growing your own sprouts and microgreens. 00:18:21.30\00:18:23.67 So I've been doing this for a long time. 00:18:23.70\00:18:25.03 You got me hooked. You got me hooked. 00:18:25.07\00:18:26.43 And I've been through 00:18:26.47\00:18:27.80 in the course of my Christian life, 00:18:27.84\00:18:29.17 I've been through some dark days, 00:18:29.20\00:18:31.34 some real struggles, some real battles, 00:18:31.37\00:18:32.94 which I'm sure you have. 00:18:32.97\00:18:34.54 And I believe that consistently adding sprouts to my diet 00:18:34.58\00:18:39.68 has helped my body to weather many storms. 00:18:39.71\00:18:45.19 And so now I'm 61 and just before I came here, 00:18:45.22\00:18:47.86 I got up at 5:30 in the morning, and I ran, 00:18:47.89\00:18:50.19 I walked and ran about four miles. 00:18:50.23\00:18:52.23 And God is blessing my health. 00:18:52.26\00:18:54.46 And I think that growing sprouts 00:18:54.50\00:18:55.83 is a big part of that. 00:18:55.86\00:18:57.20 Okay. All right. 00:18:57.23\00:18:58.57 So sprouting. 00:18:58.60\00:19:01.14 What is that when you talk about sprouting? 00:19:01.17\00:19:02.70 What's happening 00:19:02.74\00:19:04.07 when the sprouting process is taking place? 00:19:04.11\00:19:06.57 Kind of walk us through that? 00:19:06.61\00:19:07.94 Right, sure. Yeah. 00:19:07.98\00:19:09.61 Basically what sprouting is, 00:19:09.64\00:19:11.78 I mean, everything that's that grows, 00:19:11.81\00:19:13.28 that's a vegetable. 00:19:13.31\00:19:14.65 We all know that vegetables are good for us, 00:19:14.68\00:19:16.05 fruit, good for us. 00:19:16.08\00:19:17.59 Whether it's fruit or vegetable, 00:19:17.62\00:19:18.95 it all starts with a seed. 00:19:18.99\00:19:20.46 And, when you sprout a seed, basically, you take a seed, 00:19:20.49\00:19:26.80 and I'll actually show our viewers 00:19:26.83\00:19:28.86 in a little bit how to grow lentil sprouts 00:19:28.90\00:19:31.13 in their house. 00:19:31.17\00:19:32.50 But when you take a seed and you put it in water, 00:19:32.53\00:19:35.50 or you surround it in water you activate it, 00:19:35.54\00:19:38.31 and it begins to germinate. 00:19:38.34\00:19:39.67 And so the little seed, 00:19:39.71\00:19:41.24 whether, whatever kind of seed it is, 00:19:41.28\00:19:43.61 begins to grow, 00:19:43.65\00:19:44.98 and there's something miraculous 00:19:45.01\00:19:46.75 that most people have never even thought of, 00:19:46.78\00:19:49.22 and that is that when a seed begins to grow, 00:19:49.25\00:19:51.75 and it gets bigger, 00:19:51.79\00:19:53.15 the nutrition that it is getting 00:19:53.19\00:19:56.02 in order for it to get bigger is not coming from the water. 00:19:56.06\00:19:59.96 If you're just putting a seed or some seeds 00:20:00.00\00:20:02.26 in a little jar of water, 00:20:02.30\00:20:04.07 but the nutrients within the seed, 00:20:04.10\00:20:07.70 when it begins to germinate, actually begin to multiply. 00:20:07.74\00:20:10.27 It's just like, 00:20:10.31\00:20:11.64 like what a human is conceived inside a woman, 00:20:11.67\00:20:15.34 you know, you have this, this one new zygote, 00:20:15.38\00:20:18.58 the sperm meets the egg and it becomes a zygote. 00:20:18.61\00:20:21.25 And then what happens is that that zygote divides, 00:20:21.28\00:20:25.25 and you have a perfect copy of the DNA on both sides. 00:20:25.29\00:20:28.42 And then it divides again and divides again 00:20:28.46\00:20:30.06 and divides again. 00:20:30.09\00:20:31.49 And so the divisions are happening on its own. 00:20:31.53\00:20:34.83 And that's what happens with the seed. 00:20:34.86\00:20:36.20 A seed begins to multiply its vitamin A, its vitamin B, 00:20:36.23\00:20:41.90 its vitamin C, its vitamin E, 00:20:41.94\00:20:43.41 you know, different vitamins and minerals, and nutrients 00:20:43.44\00:20:45.94 and phytochemicals, 00:20:45.97\00:20:48.01 and all these different things begin to just multiply. 00:20:48.04\00:20:51.28 It's a miracle. That's right. 00:20:51.31\00:20:53.08 And what people don't realize is that the nutritional profile 00:20:53.11\00:20:58.82 within a growing seed is very, very powerful. 00:20:58.85\00:21:02.72 And the nutrients multiply 00:21:02.76\00:21:04.86 sometimes 100, 200, 300 times what's in the original seed. 00:21:04.89\00:21:10.00 And those who have researched got growing seeds 00:21:10.03\00:21:13.00 and sprouts and microgreens, 00:21:13.03\00:21:14.50 when you grow a little seed about this big, it's a sprout. 00:21:14.54\00:21:17.97 You can grow a little bit bigger, 00:21:18.01\00:21:19.41 but then when you grow it a little bit bigger 00:21:19.44\00:21:22.94 into the next stage 00:21:22.98\00:21:24.31 where the little leaves start coming out. 00:21:24.35\00:21:26.31 And then it becomes what's called a microgreen. 00:21:26.35\00:21:29.55 Those who have studied, 00:21:29.58\00:21:30.92 done nutritional scientific research 00:21:30.95\00:21:32.65 on this that are included, 00:21:32.69\00:21:34.12 that when you take from the seed 00:21:34.16\00:21:36.12 to the full broccoli head in the garden, 00:21:36.16\00:21:38.99 its peak nutritional density is at the microgreen stage. 00:21:39.03\00:21:44.17 And if you take a pound of broccoli microgreens, 00:21:44.20\00:21:48.64 and then put a pound of broccoli 00:21:48.67\00:21:51.34 from your garden, pound for pound, 00:21:51.37\00:21:54.18 there is a lot more nutrition in the broccoli sprouts 00:21:54.21\00:21:58.25 and microgreens 00:21:58.28\00:21:59.65 than there is even in your own garden. 00:21:59.68\00:22:01.82 So what's what the whole thing is sprouting is all about 00:22:01.85\00:22:04.99 is learning how to grow these seeds 00:22:05.02\00:22:06.76 so you can get those nutrients into your body. 00:22:06.79\00:22:09.69 And they will benefit every cell of you. 00:22:09.72\00:22:14.03 It's amazing. 00:22:14.06\00:22:15.40 So as you're describing this, 00:22:15.43\00:22:16.77 I can tell you get it down to a science, 00:22:16.80\00:22:18.13 but it's, but it's also a miracle 00:22:18.17\00:22:19.80 in and of itself, 00:22:19.83\00:22:21.17 because how do you explain how that happens, right? 00:22:21.20\00:22:22.97 How a baby comes about, you know, it's some, 00:22:23.00\00:22:24.47 it's a miracle work of God. 00:22:24.51\00:22:25.84 How a seed grows. 00:22:25.87\00:22:27.21 And you know, these days, people are very, I mean, 00:22:27.24\00:22:29.21 a lot of people are concerned about their health. 00:22:29.24\00:22:31.68 And we all know that 00:22:31.71\00:22:33.82 because of commercial farming, the soil, 00:22:33.85\00:22:36.92 that many of the things that you get in the market, 00:22:36.95\00:22:39.55 the soil is not what it used to be. 00:22:39.59\00:22:42.22 And that affects the nutrients 00:22:42.26\00:22:44.13 that are in what you buy at Walmart. 00:22:44.16\00:22:47.53 And people are also concerned about heavy pesticide use, 00:22:47.56\00:22:51.53 a lot of pesticides. 00:22:51.57\00:22:53.03 And then there's the transit time, 00:22:53.07\00:22:55.47 when you first pick something 00:22:55.50\00:22:57.01 by the time it gets to the market 00:22:57.04\00:22:59.04 and then gets to you, 00:22:59.07\00:23:00.41 there's nutritional degradation 00:23:00.44\00:23:01.98 and then people are concerned 00:23:02.01\00:23:03.35 about genetically modified foods. 00:23:03.38\00:23:06.35 And there's just a whole host of concerns 00:23:06.38\00:23:09.18 about, you know, the nutrients that we're getting, 00:23:09.22\00:23:12.05 even if you go to a market and buy produce. 00:23:12.09\00:23:15.02 And the beauty of growing sprouts, 00:23:15.06\00:23:18.56 is that you're doing it yourself, 00:23:18.59\00:23:20.56 you're not spraying it, it's non-GMO, it's alive. 00:23:20.60\00:23:24.73 There's no chemicals, 00:23:24.77\00:23:26.23 and there's no transit time from picking it, 00:23:26.27\00:23:30.14 you know, two weeks later when it gets in the market. 00:23:30.17\00:23:33.74 But you can actually grow these sprouts, 00:23:33.78\00:23:35.61 you can put them in a salad, in a wrap, in a sandwich. 00:23:35.64\00:23:39.51 And you can just get the full benefit 00:23:39.55\00:23:43.02 of something living, 00:23:43.05\00:23:45.49 which you just, you know, 00:23:45.52\00:23:46.86 there's really hardly any comparison. 00:23:46.89\00:23:48.66 I mean, you can take supplements, 00:23:48.69\00:23:50.03 you can take pills, 00:23:50.06\00:23:51.69 you can do the best you can with your diet. 00:23:51.73\00:23:56.20 But when you eat a lot of sprouts, 00:23:56.23\00:23:58.40 you are getting a dose of nutrition 00:23:58.43\00:24:03.24 that you just can't get anywhere else. 00:24:03.27\00:24:06.54 And it's not hard to do. 00:27:29.01\00:27:31.81 So there's reasons people don't sprout. 00:27:31.85\00:27:34.05 But obviously, you're here to tell us 00:27:34.08\00:27:36.08 why we need to sprout 00:27:36.12\00:27:37.52 and I want to just talk about now, 00:27:37.55\00:27:40.46 kind of walk us through the process 00:27:40.49\00:27:42.59 of the sprouting process. 00:27:42.62\00:27:45.66 Because you've mentioned broccoli sprouts, 00:27:45.69\00:27:48.03 I've heard of alfalfa sprouts, bean sprouts. 00:27:48.06\00:27:50.60 But you have something here, 00:27:50.63\00:27:51.97 I believe the little visual for us 00:27:52.00\00:27:54.44 on how what the process actually looks like 00:27:54.47\00:27:57.31 from start to finish and how long it takes. 00:27:57.34\00:27:59.17 Right. 00:27:59.21\00:28:00.54 Yes, I decided to put together some slides to teach people 00:28:00.58\00:28:04.21 in a really simple way, 00:28:04.25\00:28:06.05 how to grow a seed called a lentil. 00:28:06.08\00:28:08.68 Lentils sprout just fabulously. 00:28:08.72\00:28:10.92 So there's our first picture. 00:28:10.95\00:28:13.19 And let me just walk you through what to do. 00:28:13.22\00:28:15.16 These are... 00:28:15.19\00:28:16.52 Now just for the record, these are lentils. 00:28:16.56\00:28:18.26 And then people can buy lentils, anywhere, right? 00:28:18.29\00:28:20.80 Lentils are pretty much available. 00:28:20.83\00:28:22.16 It's a very easily accessible seed. 00:28:22.20\00:28:25.13 Most markets have lentils, health food stores, 00:28:25.17\00:28:29.07 you can buy them in bulk, they're very easy to get. 00:28:29.10\00:28:31.67 And they're also very easy to sprout. 00:28:31.71\00:28:33.24 So if you look at this picture, you'll see that is a quart jar, 00:28:33.27\00:28:37.71 where it says Monday morning 00:28:37.75\00:28:39.18 and what I did was I took a bag of lentils 00:28:39.21\00:28:41.32 and I poured half of that bag into that jar. 00:28:41.35\00:28:44.92 And you can see that the seeds go up about halfway. 00:28:44.95\00:28:47.62 And then I filled it up with water. 00:28:47.66\00:28:49.49 And I did this on a Monday morning. 00:28:49.52\00:28:51.29 So right across from it, you'll see the next picture, 00:28:51.33\00:28:54.36 it's the same jar, same lentil seeds, 00:28:54.40\00:28:57.37 but five hours later that same day on Monday, 00:28:57.40\00:29:00.97 you can see how those seeds have expanded dramatically 00:29:01.00\00:29:04.77 and they're now, 00:29:04.81\00:29:06.14 they're almost up at the top of the water. 00:29:06.17\00:29:08.04 And so those seeds are active, they're germinating, 00:29:08.08\00:29:10.95 they're growing. 00:29:10.98\00:29:12.35 And if you do this with a seed, 00:29:12.38\00:29:13.82 and you can see it growing up like that 00:29:13.85\00:29:15.78 after a few hours in the water, 00:29:15.82\00:29:17.45 that tells you that it's a good seed, 00:29:17.49\00:29:20.06 it's not a bad seed. 00:29:20.09\00:29:21.42 Some seeds don't sprout 00:29:21.46\00:29:22.79 because they're bad, they're too old, 00:29:22.82\00:29:24.16 but most seeds do. 00:29:24.19\00:29:25.53 So five hours later, that's what you have. 00:29:25.56\00:29:26.90 Now then let's go to the next slide. 00:29:26.93\00:29:29.43 And this was just the same day, 00:29:29.46\00:29:30.80 I took that jar that was full of water 00:29:30.83\00:29:33.13 and I poured, 00:29:33.17\00:29:34.67 I had a little sprout lid 00:29:34.70\00:29:36.34 which are easy to get with little holes. 00:29:36.37\00:29:38.44 So I poured the water into a sink 00:29:38.47\00:29:40.74 and then right across that you can see 00:29:40.78\00:29:42.51 I took that jar and I tilted it 00:29:42.54\00:29:44.88 and I put it in a little plastic lid, 00:29:44.91\00:29:47.75 just a little plastic tray 00:29:47.78\00:29:49.78 and so that the water would just continue to go out. 00:29:49.82\00:29:54.16 You don't want water. 00:29:54.19\00:29:55.52 You don't want your seeds sitting in water 00:29:55.56\00:29:58.39 once you've begun sprouting them. 00:29:58.43\00:30:00.80 And so that's what I do. 00:30:00.83\00:30:02.16 I take it, 00:30:02.20\00:30:03.53 I just let it sit there on an angle. 00:30:03.57\00:30:04.97 And the idea basically is that you give them a bath 00:30:05.00\00:30:10.51 one time to get them growing. 00:30:10.54\00:30:12.77 And then you rinse them twice a day, 00:30:12.81\00:30:15.71 you give them a shower, that's a simple way to say. 00:30:15.74\00:30:17.91 Give them a bath once to get them going. 00:30:17.95\00:30:19.75 And then you rinse them twice a day, 00:30:19.78\00:30:22.12 and give them a shower. 00:30:22.15\00:30:23.49 And then you just keep pouring out the water, 00:30:23.52\00:30:24.99 put more water in, 00:30:25.02\00:30:26.35 pour it out, you do that twice a day. 00:30:26.39\00:30:27.72 So I got a question. 00:30:27.76\00:30:29.09 So you said, now one picture showed about five hours. 00:30:29.12\00:30:31.76 So do you leave the water in there for five hours 00:30:31.79\00:30:33.33 and then pour it out or how long? 00:30:33.36\00:30:34.70 Okay. Yes. 00:30:34.73\00:30:36.06 You just, you soak the seeds for five hours. 00:30:36.10\00:30:38.03 And then you pour the water out. 00:30:38.07\00:30:39.83 And then you let it sit on an angle 00:30:39.87\00:30:41.34 so the water will continue to drain. 00:30:41.37\00:30:43.54 And then what I did that on Monday, 00:30:43.57\00:30:46.01 I started on Monday morning, Monday afternoon, 00:30:46.04\00:30:48.04 I drain out the water. 00:30:48.08\00:30:49.41 Monday evening, I took that same jar, 00:30:49.44\00:30:52.18 and I probably took the lid off and put water in from the sink, 00:30:52.21\00:30:55.72 just put it under a faucet and fill it up 00:30:55.75\00:30:59.95 and then drained it out. 00:30:59.99\00:31:01.49 And I let it sit there overnight. 00:31:01.52\00:31:03.53 And so again, the idea is you give them a bath 00:31:03.56\00:31:07.40 under the water one time, 00:31:07.43\00:31:10.13 and then you rinse them, which is your shower, 00:31:10.17\00:31:13.74 you give, you rinse them twice a day. 00:31:13.77\00:31:15.80 So let's go back to the screen. 00:31:15.84\00:31:17.24 And so now you've got, 00:31:17.27\00:31:18.77 you can see I started them Monday morning 00:31:18.81\00:31:21.31 and by Tuesday morning, 00:31:21.34\00:31:22.88 not only were the seeds had the seeds grown up 00:31:22.91\00:31:26.05 in that little quart jar, 00:31:26.08\00:31:28.48 but if you look really carefully, 00:31:28.52\00:31:30.12 you can see that they are sprouting, 00:31:30.15\00:31:32.25 they're growing. 00:31:32.29\00:31:33.62 And that's only one day. 00:31:33.66\00:31:35.22 And then, and then what happened 00:31:35.26\00:31:37.23 was by Tuesday evening, 00:31:37.26\00:31:40.50 they were growing up, 00:31:40.53\00:31:43.00 and I had too many so that eighth, 00:31:43.03\00:31:45.90 that little quart jar was too small. 00:31:45.93\00:31:48.74 And so then I poured the little quart jar 00:31:48.77\00:31:52.07 into a two quart jar. 00:31:52.11\00:31:53.84 And what you see on the opposite side there, 00:31:53.88\00:31:56.44 that is now a two quart jar, 00:31:56.48\00:31:58.75 and I rinse them Tuesday morning, 00:31:58.78\00:32:01.45 I rinse them Tuesday evening, 00:32:01.48\00:32:03.65 I rinse them at Wednesday morning. 00:32:03.69\00:32:05.82 And sometime 00:32:05.85\00:32:07.19 during the rest of the day Wednesday, 00:32:07.22\00:32:08.79 I took that picture. 00:32:08.82\00:32:10.23 And you can see now 00:32:10.26\00:32:11.59 that the sprouts have grown all the way up to the top 00:32:11.63\00:32:14.83 of the two quart jar. 00:32:14.86\00:32:16.63 So this is just two days. 00:32:16.67\00:32:19.13 So again, you just soak them over, 00:32:19.17\00:32:20.60 you soak them for a few hours, 00:32:20.64\00:32:22.24 pour out the water, 00:32:22.27\00:32:23.61 and you rinse them twice a day, morning and evening. 00:32:23.64\00:32:26.81 And within 24 hours, 00:32:26.84\00:32:28.44 they're rapidly growing up and they're starting to sprout. 00:32:28.48\00:32:31.31 And by two days, 00:32:31.35\00:32:33.58 you have a full two quart jar full of sprouts 00:32:33.62\00:32:39.22 that are ready to eat. 00:32:39.25\00:32:40.59 Okay, so about just two days? 00:32:40.62\00:32:41.99 Yeah, two days. 00:32:42.02\00:32:43.36 So do you let them go any further than that? 00:32:43.39\00:32:45.13 Do they keep growing? 00:32:45.16\00:32:46.49 And do you or do you just, 00:32:46.53\00:32:47.86 is that the prime time to eat them therefore? 00:32:47.90\00:32:49.23 Well, yeah. It's really a preference thing. 00:32:49.26\00:32:52.73 Sometimes, you know, I grow them three days, 00:32:52.77\00:32:55.27 maybe four days. 00:32:55.30\00:32:56.64 Lentils grow very fast. 00:32:56.67\00:32:58.57 But I typically with my lentils, 00:32:58.61\00:33:01.04 I like two days, 00:33:01.08\00:33:03.04 and so I grow them about this big 00:33:03.08\00:33:04.51 and that's called, 00:33:04.55\00:33:05.88 they're not in the microgreens stage yet, 00:33:05.91\00:33:07.58 they're in the sprouting stage, 00:33:07.62\00:33:09.08 because they're just starting to grow 00:33:09.12\00:33:11.32 and after two days, those lentils are ready. 00:33:11.35\00:33:13.92 So you could take that jar, 00:33:13.96\00:33:15.62 you could pour the lentils into a bag, 00:33:15.66\00:33:18.49 and you can put it in your refrigerator, 00:33:18.53\00:33:20.43 or you can just stick the jar in your refrigerator, 00:33:20.46\00:33:23.26 and then you don't do any more rinsing. 00:33:23.30\00:33:25.13 And when it's time for lunch, you just take that jar, 00:33:25.17\00:33:27.74 take off the lid, 00:33:27.77\00:33:29.10 pour them into your salad 00:33:29.14\00:33:30.77 and whatever other things you add 00:33:30.81\00:33:32.41 into your salad 00:33:32.44\00:33:33.78 and you've got living food in your salad. 00:33:33.81\00:33:35.38 So you wouldn't, 00:33:35.41\00:33:36.75 you say you can eat these raw just like that 00:33:36.78\00:33:38.28 without even cooking them. 00:33:38.31\00:33:39.65 That's right. I never cook my sprouts. 00:33:39.68\00:33:41.88 Some people do, they cook the sprouts, 00:33:41.92\00:33:43.55 but I don't. 00:33:43.59\00:33:44.92 And with lentils, you know, lentils have a very mild taste. 00:33:44.95\00:33:51.16 It's kind of an earthy taste, but there's not a lot of, 00:33:51.19\00:33:54.16 a lot of flavor to lentils, 00:33:54.20\00:33:56.03 it's a little bit like some sprouts, 00:33:56.06\00:33:57.60 a lot of sprouts are a little bit like tofu 00:33:57.63\00:33:59.87 that depending upon how you season them, 00:33:59.90\00:34:02.24 that's the flavor that they take. 00:34:02.27\00:34:04.14 So now there's other sprouts like arugula. 00:34:04.17\00:34:07.88 I like to grow arugula into the microgreens stage 00:34:07.91\00:34:10.78 and I put those on my salad and they are spicy, 00:34:10.81\00:34:14.02 they've got kick, and I love them. 00:34:14.05\00:34:16.85 And then sunflower sprouts, 00:34:16.89\00:34:18.35 I grow those into the microgreens stage. 00:34:18.39\00:34:20.92 And those are just, 00:34:20.96\00:34:22.92 they're the king of microgreens. 00:34:22.96\00:34:24.29 They are delicious. 00:34:24.33\00:34:26.36 Yeah, lot of markets will or at least a lot, 00:34:26.39\00:34:29.86 there's some growers that grow sunflowers 00:34:29.90\00:34:31.80 and they send these to restaurants. 00:34:31.83\00:34:34.24 And, you know, it's just a delicacy 00:34:34.27\00:34:36.94 and they can charge a lot and my kids, 00:34:36.97\00:34:39.44 they will just pick, you know, 00:34:39.47\00:34:41.54 when I bring in a big tray of sunflower greens, greens, 00:34:41.58\00:34:44.71 my kids will just start picking 00:34:44.75\00:34:46.85 and sometimes you know I'll cut them up, 00:34:46.88\00:34:48.85 I'll put them in a little bowl for them. 00:34:48.88\00:34:50.85 Add a little bit of salt, 00:34:50.89\00:34:52.22 a little bit of nutritional yeast 00:34:52.25\00:34:54.19 mix it up and my kids just devour that. 00:34:54.22\00:34:57.56 And so sunflower greens that microgreen sprouts, 00:34:57.59\00:35:01.96 they taste really, they taste really good. 00:35:02.00\00:35:03.87 Arugulas got more of a kick, there's a wide variety, 00:35:03.90\00:35:07.14 clover is more mild, alfalfa, it has an alfalfa taste, 00:35:07.17\00:35:11.77 but a lot of them, 00:35:11.81\00:35:13.14 you know, it really depends upon how you season them. 00:35:13.17\00:35:15.88 And so with lentils, 00:35:15.91\00:35:18.01 you can grow lentils on a regular basis. 00:35:18.05\00:35:21.12 And what I do many times 00:35:21.15\00:35:23.08 is once I've got my jar of lentils 00:35:23.12\00:35:24.95 or my bag in my refrigerator, 00:35:24.99\00:35:28.46 I will when I have my granola in the morning, 00:35:28.49\00:35:30.83 or my oatmeal or a waffle, on go the lentils. 00:35:30.86\00:35:35.13 And then on top of the waffle, you know, with the lentils, 00:35:35.16\00:35:37.47 I've got some blueberries or some strawberries, 00:35:37.50\00:35:40.37 and lentils just make a really nice addition 00:35:40.40\00:35:43.47 to a pancake, to a waffle, to oatmeal, to granola. 00:35:43.51\00:35:49.88 And then when I have lunch, it goes in my salad, 00:35:49.91\00:35:52.68 you can put it on a sandwich, you can put it on a wrap. 00:35:52.71\00:35:55.42 And once you learn how to do it, it's really, 00:35:55.45\00:35:58.35 a child can grow lentils. 00:35:58.39\00:36:00.29 It's very easy, very accessible. 00:36:00.32\00:36:02.66 And if you do it on a regular basis, 00:36:02.69\00:36:04.16 and if you Google health benefits 00:36:04.19\00:36:06.59 of lentil sprouts. 00:36:06.63\00:36:07.96 I mean, you can do health benefits 00:36:08.00\00:36:09.33 about alfalfa sprout, 00:36:09.36\00:36:10.70 health benefits of broccoli sprouts 00:36:10.73\00:36:12.20 or clover sprouts. 00:36:12.23\00:36:13.84 You will find that the nutrients 00:36:13.87\00:36:16.60 that are in these sprouts are practically off the charts, 00:36:16.64\00:36:21.71 and they're very easy to grow, 00:36:21.74\00:36:24.08 very easy to consume on a regular basis. 00:36:24.11\00:36:27.32 And people just, you know, they don't know what to do. 00:36:27.35\00:36:29.38 I've heard people say, I'd like to sprout, 00:36:29.42\00:36:32.15 but I don't know where to start. 00:36:32.19\00:36:33.92 You know, it's kind of, it's daunting to them to think, 00:36:33.96\00:36:37.26 how do I do that? 00:36:37.29\00:36:38.83 And I have, as you know, I not only have a book on this, 00:36:38.86\00:36:43.16 but I actually have an entire course 00:36:43.20\00:36:45.13 where I teach people through video instruction, 00:36:45.17\00:36:48.30 exactly how to grow these seeds, 00:36:48.34\00:36:51.07 how to grow many different kinds of seeds, 00:36:51.11\00:36:53.14 and I demonstrate that right in front of them. 00:36:53.17\00:36:54.74 I'm going to tell, we're gonna come right back 00:36:54.78\00:36:56.11 to that in just a moment. 00:36:56.14\00:36:57.48 I have to ask this question, 00:36:57.51\00:36:58.85 because there's got to be someone right now watching this 00:36:58.88\00:37:00.32 that probably is thinking, 00:37:00.35\00:37:02.18 this just sounds real new agey, right? 00:37:02.22\00:37:04.39 It kind of sounds like something Mr. Gorks, 00:37:04.42\00:37:07.12 people of that type of culture or mentality might do is, 00:37:07.16\00:37:11.16 have you ever had somebody challenge you on that? 00:37:11.19\00:37:14.23 Talk a little bit about that? 00:37:14.26\00:37:15.60 Well, I know that a lot of people 00:37:15.63\00:37:17.43 that are into the New Age movement 00:37:17.47\00:37:18.87 and into the mystical movement 00:37:18.90\00:37:20.37 and into all kinds of things, many of them do sprout. 00:37:20.40\00:37:23.17 And there are a lot of raw restaurants 00:37:23.20\00:37:28.51 that are out there in certain cities. 00:37:28.54\00:37:30.18 I don't know if there's one in St. Louis, 00:37:30.21\00:37:31.55 it just depends on, 00:37:31.58\00:37:32.91 you know, I've gone, 00:37:32.95\00:37:34.28 I travel in and I'm in a lot of airports, 00:37:34.32\00:37:35.65 and some airports have good vegetarian options. 00:37:35.68\00:37:37.72 Some airports don't like Phoenix, 00:37:37.75\00:37:39.25 they hardly have any vegetarian food. 00:37:39.29\00:37:41.06 So depending upon the... 00:37:41.09\00:37:42.89 If you go to California, 00:37:42.92\00:37:44.26 you'll have lots of restaurants that serve sprouts. 00:37:44.29\00:37:46.23 So it depends on the area. 00:37:46.26\00:37:47.66 But there are many restaurants around the country 00:37:47.70\00:37:51.03 that have delicious raw food, 00:37:51.07\00:37:54.97 cuisine, and they have lots of sprouts. 00:37:55.00\00:37:58.11 And sometimes they also have books about meditation, 00:37:58.14\00:38:01.84 and mysticism and things that 00:38:01.88\00:38:03.71 that we would stay away from because it's not in the Bible. 00:38:03.75\00:38:07.78 But as far as sprouting itself, 00:38:07.82\00:38:10.25 meaning when you go back to Genesis, 00:38:10.29\00:38:13.32 the Bible says, God says to Adam and Eve, 00:38:13.36\00:38:16.56 I've given you every seed bearing, 00:38:16.59\00:38:20.70 you know, bearing fruit, and the vegetables. 00:38:20.73\00:38:24.57 So God originally gave us a diet from the soil, 00:38:24.60\00:38:29.00 and it was grown from seeds. 00:38:29.04\00:38:32.01 And so the idea of growing a sprout 00:38:32.04\00:38:35.31 is not a New Age concept. 00:38:35.34\00:38:38.11 It's any seed that anybody grows 00:38:38.15\00:38:41.38 in their garden, 00:38:41.42\00:38:42.75 they're sprouting, they either, 00:38:42.78\00:38:44.42 you know, get them started 00:38:44.45\00:38:45.79 before they put them in their garden, 00:38:45.82\00:38:47.16 or they plant the seeds in the garden. 00:38:47.19\00:38:49.52 So we all have been eating sprouted things 00:38:49.56\00:38:53.50 all of our lives. 00:38:53.53\00:38:55.26 But like I said, the benefit of doing it yourself, 00:38:55.30\00:38:58.93 is that it's inexpensive, it's easy. 00:38:58.97\00:39:01.90 And you're bypassing all of the chemicals 00:39:01.94\00:39:06.44 and the deficient soil etc. 00:39:06.47\00:39:10.18 So you're getting, 00:39:10.21\00:39:11.55 you're getting the most potent food 00:39:11.58\00:39:13.35 that you can eat. 00:39:13.38\00:39:14.72 And it's easy to do and like I said, 00:39:14.75\00:39:17.79 once you learn how to do it, I mean, it's kind of like a, 00:39:17.82\00:39:20.96 you know, when I was a teenager, 00:39:20.99\00:39:23.32 I got it, I was addicted to some things 00:39:23.36\00:39:25.36 that are not going to give those things up. 00:39:25.39\00:39:26.73 Sure. 00:39:26.76\00:39:28.10 But I've continued sprouting, 00:39:28.13\00:39:29.46 because I know 00:39:29.50\00:39:30.83 that sprouting is really good for my body. 00:39:30.87\00:39:32.20 And I've learned that and the evidence is there. 00:39:32.23\00:39:35.10 There's a website, 00:39:35.14\00:39:36.67 the International Sprout Growers Association, 00:39:36.71\00:39:40.71 and that website is loaded with scientific studies 00:39:40.74\00:39:46.15 on the health benefits of growing sprouts 00:39:46.18\00:39:48.28 and microgreens. 00:39:48.32\00:39:49.65 So this is not a New Age thing, it's like exercising, 00:39:49.68\00:39:51.85 you know, people get into yoga, and you know, 00:39:51.89\00:39:54.82 they discover many times that, 00:39:54.86\00:39:58.03 that while the exercises may be good, 00:39:58.06\00:40:00.23 the philosophy that's underneath there 00:40:00.26\00:40:02.06 isn't good. 00:40:02.10\00:40:03.47 And, of course, you can attach a philosophy 00:40:03.50\00:40:05.87 to just about anything. 00:40:05.90\00:40:07.50 But the very, just the simple process 00:40:07.54\00:40:09.70 of growing seeds and growing sprouts 00:40:09.74\00:40:11.64 and microgreens, 00:40:11.67\00:40:13.01 you know, there's nothing New Age about that. 00:40:13.04\00:40:14.98 It's biblical and it's healthy. 00:40:15.01\00:40:17.51 Absolutely. I have to admit something. 00:40:17.55\00:40:19.75 When I looked at the sheet 00:40:19.78\00:40:21.12 where they told us the topic 00:40:21.15\00:40:22.82 we were going to be talking about today, 00:40:22.85\00:40:24.55 I stopped in my mind, 00:40:24.59\00:40:26.12 and I thought to myself sprouts, really? 00:40:26.15\00:40:29.32 But after hearing you talk about this, 00:40:29.36\00:40:31.26 you've got me interested. 00:40:31.29\00:40:32.63 And I'm assuming there's someone 00:40:32.66\00:40:34.13 watching right now that wants to know 00:40:34.16\00:40:35.66 a little bit more about this. 00:40:35.70\00:40:37.07 And this kind of sets us up for you to be able to give us 00:40:37.10\00:40:39.03 a little bit more detail about your website 00:40:39.07\00:40:41.27 because if you want to learn more how to actually do this, 00:40:41.30\00:40:44.41 you teach us how to do that through your website. 00:40:44.44\00:40:47.08 So tell us a bit about that? 00:40:47.11\00:40:48.44 Yes, we have a course 00:40:48.48\00:40:49.81 and as I mentioned, that's why, you know, 00:40:49.84\00:40:51.18 that's why I walk people through the lentils, 00:40:51.21\00:40:53.85 those pictures, 00:40:53.88\00:40:55.22 so I could show people 00:40:55.25\00:40:56.82 that they can do this in their home, 00:40:56.85\00:40:58.79 and it's very easy to do. 00:40:58.82\00:41:00.62 Now, I have a friend of mine, partner, 00:41:00.66\00:41:03.73 who I work with at White Horse Media. 00:41:03.76\00:41:05.73 And because he knows all about 00:41:05.76\00:41:07.86 how much I've been sprouting, 00:41:07.90\00:41:10.33 we decided to put together, 00:41:10.37\00:41:12.60 to team up and put together an entire course. 00:41:12.63\00:41:16.00 So I'm the speaker and the demonstrator, 00:41:16.04\00:41:19.11 and he was the recorder. 00:41:19.14\00:41:21.51 Sometimes my kids recorded when he couldn't do it. 00:41:21.54\00:41:23.61 So my daughter or my son had the cell phone, 00:41:23.65\00:41:26.48 but we actually recorded an entire series, 00:41:26.51\00:41:31.05 where I show, I'm in my kitchen, 00:41:31.09\00:41:34.26 I've got all my different little... 00:41:34.29\00:41:36.32 I've got the jars, I've got the small trays, 00:41:36.36\00:41:38.56 the bigger trays, 00:41:38.59\00:41:39.93 the larger trays for the microgreens 00:41:39.96\00:41:41.73 and I demonstrate how to grow alfalfa. 00:41:41.76\00:41:45.97 We have first sections called the ABCs, 00:41:46.00\00:41:47.90 alfalfa, broccoli, clover. 00:41:47.94\00:41:49.60 And then we have lentils, mung and peas, the LMP's. 00:41:49.64\00:41:53.41 And we also have barley and rye. 00:41:53.44\00:41:55.58 And then we have sunflowers, and we have buckwheat groats, 00:41:55.61\00:41:59.81 and they watch me in my kitchen with my jars and my trays. 00:41:59.85\00:42:04.99 Morning, evening, morning, evening, morning, evening, 00:42:05.02\00:42:07.59 they see exactly what I do. 00:42:07.62\00:42:09.32 They see me pouring out the water, 00:42:09.36\00:42:11.39 pouring in the water, 00:42:11.43\00:42:12.86 and they see the seeds growing 00:42:12.89\00:42:15.06 and then they see us with our scissors, 00:42:15.10\00:42:18.13 snipping them off, putting them in the salad, 00:42:18.17\00:42:21.10 we mix in the avocado, 00:42:21.14\00:42:23.34 and squeeze in the lemon 00:42:23.37\00:42:24.81 and put some nutritional yeast on there. 00:42:24.84\00:42:27.68 And they see the whole, the whole thing. 00:42:27.71\00:42:29.84 So they learn how to do this. 00:42:29.88\00:42:32.71 And in this course, which we've called, 00:42:32.75\00:42:35.05 it's called sprouting with Steve, 00:42:35.08\00:42:37.35 it's basically divided into three major sections, 00:42:37.39\00:42:40.36 where I teach people how to grow simple sprouts, 00:42:40.39\00:42:43.53 lots of different sprouts in different ways. 00:42:43.56\00:42:47.03 So people can choose. 00:42:47.06\00:42:48.40 I like the jar, I like the little tray. 00:42:48.43\00:42:50.23 I like this one, I like that seed. 00:42:50.27\00:42:52.37 And we also tell people where to get all their seeds 00:42:52.40\00:42:55.30 and all their supplies in one place. 00:42:55.34\00:42:57.77 And so we go through the sprouting section. 00:42:57.81\00:43:00.41 And then the next section 00:43:00.44\00:43:01.88 is simple microgreens where I show them how, 00:43:01.91\00:43:05.81 people how to grow them bigger. 00:43:05.85\00:43:08.18 And that's in soil 00:43:08.22\00:43:09.98 with just regular potting soils. 00:43:10.02\00:43:11.79 We have simple microgreens and I teach about buckwheat, 00:43:11.82\00:43:15.72 great big buckwheat trays, 00:43:15.76\00:43:17.63 and sunflower greens and wheatgrass and peas. 00:43:17.66\00:43:21.53 Oh, peas are great sprouts to grow 00:43:21.56\00:43:23.20 into a microgreen stage. 00:43:23.23\00:43:24.73 And then we have one, 00:43:24.77\00:43:26.10 a third section which is on how to grow 00:43:26.13\00:43:29.50 simple microgreens without any dirt. 00:43:29.54\00:43:32.54 So there's no potting soil or dirt from your garden. 00:43:32.57\00:43:36.64 You're just using just your seeds and water. 00:43:36.68\00:43:40.55 And so I demonstrate that and they watch them grow, 00:43:40.58\00:43:43.99 they watch the kohlrabi grow. 00:43:44.02\00:43:46.49 And these different seeds, 00:43:46.52\00:43:47.86 mustard greens and they just grow right there. 00:43:47.89\00:43:50.73 And they see all that. 00:43:50.76\00:43:52.09 So the course walks people through, 00:43:52.13\00:43:54.06 it's like a, 00:43:54.10\00:43:55.43 it's a master course on teaching people 00:43:55.46\00:43:58.40 exactly what to do. 00:43:58.43\00:43:59.77 We have a motto. 00:43:59.80\00:44:01.14 And the motto is you can do it. 00:44:01.17\00:44:03.10 So as I'm demonstrating this, 00:44:03.14\00:44:04.51 I'm looking at the camera 00:44:04.54\00:44:05.87 and I'm saying now you can do what I'm doing. 00:44:05.91\00:44:08.64 You know where to get these seeds now 00:44:08.68\00:44:10.01 because we tell them 00:44:10.05\00:44:11.38 where to get them all from one place. 00:44:11.41\00:44:13.45 And we show them the different options, 00:44:13.48\00:44:15.68 the different kinds of jars and trays, 00:44:15.72\00:44:17.55 we show them how to soak them, how to drain them, 00:44:17.59\00:44:19.25 how to rinse them, they watch them grow. 00:44:19.29\00:44:21.32 So it's very, it's very practical. 00:44:21.36\00:44:24.43 I mean, as you know, from reading my books, 00:44:24.46\00:44:25.79 one of the gifts that God has given me 00:44:25.83\00:44:27.66 is an ability to teach. 00:44:27.70\00:44:29.70 I'm a teacher. 00:44:29.73\00:44:31.07 I make things simple. Absolutely. 00:44:31.10\00:44:32.53 And I do the same thing in the sprouting course. 00:44:32.57\00:44:35.34 Now, of course, people can, 00:44:35.37\00:44:36.91 you know, they can do their own research, 00:44:36.94\00:44:38.31 they can read books, they can go on YouTube, 00:44:38.34\00:44:39.67 they can watch 00:44:39.71\00:44:41.04 a whole bunch of different videos, 00:44:41.08\00:44:42.41 which often go in many different directions. 00:44:42.44\00:44:44.08 And that everybody is of course free to do that. 00:44:44.11\00:44:46.01 But if they want to be spoon-fed 00:44:46.05\00:44:48.35 and learn exactly how to do it and go to one place, 00:44:48.38\00:44:51.39 one place in a simple way. 00:44:51.42\00:44:54.12 That's what Sprouting with Steve 00:44:54.16\00:44:55.79 is all about. 00:44:55.82\00:44:57.16 I pulled it up right here. 00:44:57.19\00:44:58.53 You could probably see it on my iPad, 00:44:58.56\00:45:00.46 SproutingWithSteve.com. 00:45:00.50\00:45:02.73 I've already went there on my iPad. 00:45:02.76\00:45:04.53 You can go there as well, SproutingWithSteve.com. 00:45:04.57\00:45:07.54 I think we even had a little picture 00:45:07.57\00:45:09.17 with the website 00:45:09.20\00:45:10.54 and it kind of shows again for those who might have 00:45:10.57\00:45:11.91 just tuned in. 00:45:11.94\00:45:13.27 There we go. 00:45:13.31\00:45:14.64 There's Pastor Steve Wohlberg with all of his sprouts. 00:45:14.68\00:45:16.41 Yes. 00:45:16.44\00:45:17.78 And those are actually from the course. 00:45:17.81\00:45:19.15 Those pictures were taken. 00:45:19.18\00:45:20.52 You can see 00:45:20.55\00:45:21.88 on the upper right hand corner there, 00:45:21.92\00:45:23.75 you can see me with the big tray 00:45:23.79\00:45:25.45 and that's buckwheat lettuce. 00:45:25.49\00:45:27.06 Buckwheat lettuce is fabulous. 00:45:27.09\00:45:28.86 And below that is purple Rambo radish. 00:45:28.89\00:45:31.89 And then on the left side are, those are sunflower greens. 00:45:31.93\00:45:35.40 And right in the middle there, there's that there's mung, 00:45:35.43\00:45:38.93 and on top, with me pointing my finger over there. 00:45:38.97\00:45:42.27 Those are pea sprouts. 00:45:42.30\00:45:43.71 And those are all those pictures 00:45:43.74\00:45:45.37 are from are actually pea microgreens. 00:45:45.41\00:45:47.28 It almost looks like wheatgrass. 00:45:47.31\00:45:49.44 No, those are peas. 00:45:49.48\00:45:51.65 The wheatgrass are somewhere else. 00:45:51.68\00:45:53.21 That wheatgrass are over where I've got my thumbs up 00:45:53.25\00:45:55.88 over there in the right hand corner, 00:45:55.92\00:45:57.55 the wheatgrass are there over on the side. 00:45:57.59\00:45:59.82 That's wheatgrass. 00:45:59.85\00:46:01.19 And so, and down below that 00:46:01.22\00:46:02.69 is a big tray of sunflower greens, 00:46:02.72\00:46:05.36 where Abby's hands that are taking bite. 00:46:05.39\00:46:09.16 That's Abby, my 12-year-old, Seth our 16-year-old, 00:46:09.20\00:46:12.13 and they're right there ready to start eating. 00:46:12.17\00:46:14.77 And so, and all those pictures are taken from the course. 00:46:14.80\00:46:19.37 So I'm showing people how to grow those things 00:46:19.41\00:46:22.58 and then we just took a collage of those pictures 00:46:22.61\00:46:26.18 and put them into that. 00:46:26.21\00:46:27.55 That's amazing. 00:46:27.58\00:46:28.92 So obviously, the course goes into great detail 00:46:28.95\00:46:31.49 on a variety of different seeds that you can sprout. 00:46:31.52\00:46:36.36 But I just have to ask you some, 00:46:36.39\00:46:38.43 maybe somebody else is wondering this. 00:46:38.46\00:46:40.00 If you just had two or three go to sprouts that if you just, 00:46:40.03\00:46:43.37 your go to, 00:46:43.40\00:46:44.73 if that's something that you could just use 00:46:44.77\00:46:46.10 on a daily basis, 00:46:46.13\00:46:47.47 two or three, what are your favorites? 00:46:47.50\00:46:48.84 Well, the simplest ones to grow, 00:46:48.87\00:46:50.21 very simple are those lentils. 00:46:50.24\00:46:52.67 And also mung, 00:46:52.71\00:46:54.18 it's hard to go wrong with mung. 00:46:54.21\00:46:56.11 Now mung normally need to get 00:46:56.14\00:46:57.65 probably not at a market but at a health food store. 00:46:57.68\00:47:00.92 Some like not far from where I live, 00:47:00.95\00:47:03.15 there's a pilgrims market and they've got bulk bins, 00:47:03.18\00:47:06.65 and you can buy plenty of mung seeds 00:47:06.69\00:47:09.32 and they're not, they're not expensive. 00:47:09.36\00:47:12.16 And they're super simple to grow in a jar. 00:47:12.19\00:47:16.23 There's other ways to grow them. 00:47:16.26\00:47:17.60 But so I would say, 00:47:17.63\00:47:18.97 you know, the simplest are lentils, mung. 00:47:19.00\00:47:22.64 Another very simple one is sunflower seeds raw, 00:47:22.67\00:47:25.91 and that's raw sunflower seeds. 00:47:25.94\00:47:27.84 You can soak your raw sunflower seeds in a jar, 00:47:27.88\00:47:30.35 like they saw with the lentils, you soak them, 00:47:30.38\00:47:32.55 I typically soak them overnight. 00:47:32.58\00:47:34.55 And then I drain out the water, and I tilt the jar, 00:47:34.58\00:47:37.85 and then in the evening, I give them another rinse, 00:47:37.89\00:47:40.32 drain out the water, tilt the jar. 00:47:40.36\00:47:42.32 And within two days, you'll have nice size, 00:47:42.36\00:47:47.06 raw sunflower seeds that are sprouting this 00:47:47.10\00:47:50.10 and these are not with the shells. 00:47:50.13\00:47:51.47 When you grow them 00:47:51.50\00:47:53.10 into the bigger microgreen stage, 00:47:53.13\00:47:55.14 you want to have them with the shell. 00:47:55.17\00:47:56.84 And I teach people how to do that. 00:47:56.87\00:47:58.24 But for just with the jar, raw, 00:47:58.27\00:48:02.08 organic sunflower seeds without a shell, 00:48:02.11\00:48:06.05 you can grow those very easily. 00:48:06.08\00:48:08.15 And those are great in your oatmeal, 00:48:08.18\00:48:10.45 your granola, on top of your waffles 00:48:10.49\00:48:12.65 in your salads, and they taste, 00:48:12.69\00:48:14.89 they taste like sunflower seeds. 00:48:14.92\00:48:16.26 They're nutty, 00:48:16.29\00:48:17.63 and yet when they're growing into the sprouting stage, 00:48:17.66\00:48:20.66 like I said, the vitamin E content 00:48:20.70\00:48:22.56 has just multiplying in sunflower. 00:48:22.60\00:48:25.53 Lot of vitamin E. 00:48:25.57\00:48:27.20 And you do research, you know, 00:48:27.24\00:48:28.57 on what does vitamin E do to the body? 00:48:28.60\00:48:30.11 What does vitamin B complex do for the body? 00:48:30.14\00:48:32.54 What does vitamin C do for the body? 00:48:32.57\00:48:34.71 What does vitamin A 00:48:34.74\00:48:36.08 and all these different vitamins 00:48:36.11\00:48:37.45 and then you look at how many of these vitamins 00:48:37.48\00:48:40.38 are in sprouted seeds and microgreens, 00:48:40.42\00:48:43.82 then you realize, you know, wow, 00:48:43.85\00:48:45.79 this is really beneficial to the body. 00:48:45.82\00:48:48.49 I mean, I've had lots of people say to me, and I thank God, 00:48:48.52\00:48:51.26 I know that, you know, anything can happen to anybody. 00:48:51.29\00:48:53.60 I'm thankful that I'm still alive at 61. 00:48:53.63\00:48:55.96 But at 61, I feel like 00:48:56.00\00:48:57.60 you know, I'm doing pretty good. 00:48:57.63\00:48:59.70 You know, I feel like I can still go jogging 00:48:59.73\00:49:01.70 and walking for four miles 00:49:01.74\00:49:03.84 and I, you know, I'm happy. 00:49:03.87\00:49:05.84 I'm blessed. I've been through a lot. 00:49:05.87\00:49:07.64 God has brought me through many dark days. 00:49:07.68\00:49:10.21 He's given me the strength to go through these things. 00:49:10.25\00:49:12.71 And I think that sprouting has been a big part 00:49:12.75\00:49:14.95 of my health that I have. 00:49:14.98\00:49:17.85 So your favorite out of all of them. 00:49:17.89\00:49:19.22 What is that? Which one? 00:49:19.25\00:49:20.59 My favorite? Your favorite. 00:49:20.62\00:49:21.96 I think my favorite would be probably sunflowers 00:49:21.99\00:49:24.23 grown into the microgreen stage 00:49:24.26\00:49:26.06 and buckwheat and also I really like arugula. 00:49:26.09\00:49:31.80 Yeah, when I did my course, 00:49:31.83\00:49:33.54 this company that we work with is called True Leaf 00:49:33.57\00:49:36.27 Market where we get all our seeds. 00:49:36.30\00:49:37.64 They sent me a bunch of seeds and different supplies 00:49:37.67\00:49:40.44 to demonstrate because they know that, 00:49:40.48\00:49:42.51 you know, we're doing this 00:49:42.54\00:49:44.45 and we're directing people to their company, 00:49:44.48\00:49:46.48 so they were happy to send me a whole bunch of free supplies. 00:49:46.51\00:49:49.95 Now when I started sprouting arugula. 00:49:49.98\00:49:52.45 Oh, I just, I mean, I like arugula in my garden. 00:49:52.49\00:49:55.52 And then the benefit of growing sprouts 00:49:55.56\00:49:57.29 is you don't have to, 00:49:57.33\00:49:58.96 you don't have to deal with the weeds in your garden, 00:49:58.99\00:50:02.10 we have to get out there and weed. 00:50:02.13\00:50:03.83 I mean, there's no weeds 00:50:03.87\00:50:05.47 growing in a little tray of arugula, 00:50:05.50\00:50:08.50 and you can grow them without any dirt. 00:50:08.54\00:50:11.81 And within just, you know, a very short time, 00:50:11.84\00:50:16.08 you're putting them in your salad. 00:50:16.11\00:50:17.45 That is awesome. 00:50:17.48\00:50:18.81 So just take about a minute or so 00:50:18.85\00:50:20.48 because we're getting down to almost the end of our time. 00:50:20.52\00:50:22.82 But somebody might be asking, 00:50:22.85\00:50:24.75 what's the best time of year to grow sprouts? 00:50:24.79\00:50:27.42 Is there a particular time of year or... 00:50:27.46\00:50:29.26 Sure, you can grow any time of year 00:50:29.29\00:50:30.99 as long as you're not growing them in. 00:50:31.03\00:50:33.50 With microgreens, 00:50:33.53\00:50:34.86 you don't want your temperature in your room to be too hot. 00:50:34.90\00:50:38.03 You want to keep it on the cooler side 70 degrees, 00:50:38.07\00:50:40.87 because they could, you know, 00:50:40.90\00:50:42.24 they're more susceptible to mold. 00:50:42.27\00:50:44.04 For me personally, I am in my garden 00:50:44.07\00:50:46.37 during the spring in the summer. 00:50:46.41\00:50:47.98 But once it gets colder 00:50:48.01\00:50:49.44 and the snow starts coming down, 00:50:49.48\00:50:51.38 and I can't grow anything in my garden, 00:50:51.41\00:50:53.82 I shift gears to sprouts and I grow all winter, 00:50:53.85\00:50:58.19 all kinds of different sprouts, 00:50:58.22\00:50:59.79 so I can have fresh veggies in the middle of the winter. 00:50:59.82\00:51:02.69 But you can do at any time of year. 00:51:02.72\00:51:04.89 And in my course I explain all this 00:51:04.93\00:51:07.03 and say to people what to do. 00:51:07.06\00:51:08.40 Absolutely. 00:51:08.43\00:51:09.76 And that's actually what we're going to do. 00:51:09.80\00:51:11.13 Now we're not quite finished yet, 00:51:11.17\00:51:12.50 we just have a little 00:51:12.53\00:51:13.87 over a couple of minutes yet left. 00:51:13.90\00:51:15.24 But again, Sprout Power, 00:51:15.27\00:51:16.60 the little booklet you can get from White Horse Media. 00:51:16.64\00:51:19.57 And we're going to put up in just a moment, 00:51:19.61\00:51:22.84 we're going to bring up here exactly 00:51:22.88\00:51:24.35 how you can contact White Horse Media, 00:51:24.38\00:51:26.51 how you can get a copy of Pastor Wohlberg's books, 00:51:26.55\00:51:30.35 his new book called climate change 00:51:30.39\00:51:32.05 again on Armageddon, 00:51:32.09\00:51:33.42 and also everything you've been hearing 00:51:33.46\00:51:34.82 about sprouting, Sprout Power, 00:51:34.86\00:51:36.96 the new little booklet 00:51:36.99\00:51:38.33 as well as how to get in contact 00:51:38.36\00:51:40.63 with this new course on his website. 00:51:40.66\00:51:42.70 We're going to go to that right now. 00:51:42.73\00:51:44.90 So again, get out your notepad, get out your pens, here it is. 00:51:44.93\00:51:50.04 For more information about White Horse Media, 00:51:50.07\00:51:52.54 please contact them at WhiteHorseMedia.com. 00:51:52.57\00:51:56.41 That's WhiteHorseMedia.com or SproutingWithSteve.com. 00:51:56.44\00:52:01.15 Their number is 1800-782-4253. 00:52:01.18\00:52:06.25 That's 1800-782-4253. 00:52:06.29\00:52:10.69 Their mailing address is PO Box 130, 00:52:10.73\00:52:13.50 Priest River, Idaho 83856. 00:52:13.53\00:52:18.00 That's PO Box 130, Priest River, Idaho, 83856. 00:52:18.03\00:52:23.91
