Okay. Thank you, Baby. 00:02:58.37\00:02:59.71 Because if you're young, I'm young. 00:02:59.74\00:03:01.08 Yes, that's a good point. 00:03:01.11\00:03:02.81 You are young. 00:03:02.84\00:03:04.18 Yet but it's a blessing like you mentioned 00:03:04.21\00:03:05.55 when we were there at ASI normally our production crew, 00:03:05.58\00:03:07.48 of course, is working main stage. 00:03:07.52\00:03:08.85 But then we get to do the interviews 00:03:08.88\00:03:10.52 around the 3ABN booth. 00:03:10.55\00:03:11.89 We couldn't do it this year. 00:03:11.92\00:03:13.25 But I'm so excited 00:03:13.29\00:03:14.62 that we are still able to feature 00:03:14.66\00:03:15.99 a number of the ministries that are partnering with ASI. 00:03:16.02\00:03:18.96 And we love all of these ministries. 00:03:18.99\00:03:20.36 So we are so blessed, 00:03:20.40\00:03:21.73 we share them with you many times, 00:03:21.76\00:03:23.93 many of these ministries. 00:03:23.97\00:03:25.30 So the first one before we go to the first one, 00:03:25.33\00:03:27.67 I just want to share a scripture 00:03:27.70\00:03:29.04 because it goes with those who are young 00:03:29.07\00:03:30.41 or young at heart. 00:03:30.44\00:03:31.77 Remember, this is Matthew Chapter 19. 00:03:31.81\00:03:34.41 Remember when the little children 00:03:34.44\00:03:35.78 were brought to Jesus and the disciples, 00:03:35.81\00:03:37.61 they got kind of upset 00:03:37.65\00:03:38.98 'cause they thought the important people, 00:03:39.01\00:03:41.98 well, they are the ones who need to see Jesus 00:03:42.02\00:03:44.32 and clearly the children wouldn't be 00:03:44.35\00:03:46.12 in that category. 00:03:46.15\00:03:47.72 And in Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, 00:03:47.76\00:03:51.66 "Let the little children come to me, 00:03:51.69\00:03:54.80 do not forbid them, 00:03:54.83\00:03:56.63 for such is the kingdom of heaven." 00:03:56.67\00:03:59.20 And He laid His hands on them and He blessed them. 00:03:59.23\00:04:02.47 And so I just see the love of our Father, 00:04:02.50\00:04:05.74 the love of Jesus for little children 00:04:05.77\00:04:09.18 and we're all young at heart 00:04:09.21\00:04:10.85 and we all need to come to Him in that fashion. 00:04:10.88\00:04:13.38 The first place we're going to is actually a school. 00:04:13.42\00:04:16.15 This is Ouachita Hills College. 00:04:16.18\00:04:19.35 They have an academy. They do. 00:04:19.39\00:04:20.72 We've been there. 00:04:20.76\00:04:22.09 I know this school was started by Dr. Clark and his wife, 00:04:22.12\00:04:24.79 Mrs. Harriet Clark, they've done an incredible job. 00:04:24.83\00:04:27.33 Magda Rodriguez is the president now 00:04:27.36\00:04:29.43 of the college 00:04:29.46\00:04:30.80 and it's an amazing outreach ministry 00:04:30.83\00:04:35.04 for young people. 00:04:35.07\00:04:36.40 Really, as we've been to that campus 00:04:36.44\00:04:37.77 and it's gorgeous. 00:04:37.81\00:04:39.14 You know, it's out in nature. 00:04:39.17\00:04:40.51 You go down these back 00:04:40.54\00:04:41.88 when we were there a few years ago there, 00:04:41.91\00:04:43.24 some dusty dirt roads, 00:04:43.28\00:04:44.61 but just beautiful just opens up 00:04:44.65\00:04:45.98 into a beautiful campus 00:04:46.01\00:04:47.35 and it's amazing what God has done. 00:04:47.38\00:04:48.72 So we're going to hear an exciting report 00:04:48.75\00:04:50.92 from Ouachita Hills Academy and College. 00:04:50.95\00:04:56.06 It's so good. 00:04:56.09\00:04:57.43 You could join us this evening for ASI here, 00:04:57.46\00:05:00.33 Joshua and Dailyn. 00:05:00.36\00:05:02.83 I just would like you to explain 00:05:02.86\00:05:04.33 a little bit about canvassing 00:05:04.37\00:05:06.00 for those who aren't familiar with that program, 00:05:06.03\00:05:08.84 and also was curious, 00:05:08.87\00:05:10.21 is it a big part 00:05:10.24\00:05:11.57 of the Ouachita Hills curriculum? 00:05:11.61\00:05:15.34 So canvassing is a big part of Ouachita Hills curriculum. 00:05:15.38\00:05:19.95 We canvass throughout the semester, 00:05:19.98\00:05:21.48 we also canvas 00:05:21.52\00:05:22.85 during the summer and the winter break, 00:05:22.88\00:05:24.95 and canvassing is where we take on books 00:05:24.99\00:05:27.92 like The Great Controversy, 00:05:27.96\00:05:29.32 and The Desire of Ages, and Steps to Christ, 00:05:29.36\00:05:31.73 some books that help and inspire people, 00:05:31.76\00:05:33.53 we take those door to door, and we give them away, 00:05:33.56\00:05:36.26 we sell them, 00:05:36.30\00:05:37.63 and we just try to meet the needs of the people. 00:05:37.67\00:05:40.64 That's wonderful. 00:05:40.67\00:05:42.24 So I was curious, 00:05:42.27\00:05:44.21 has COVID-19 affected the canvassing program 00:05:44.24\00:05:48.28 at all this summer? 00:05:48.31\00:05:51.05 Um, well, it's interesting, 00:05:51.08\00:05:52.98 COVID-19 has affected the canvassing program 00:05:53.01\00:05:55.85 in a very positive way. 00:05:55.88\00:05:58.35 We've actually had phenomenal success 00:05:58.39\00:06:00.72 in this program, 00:06:00.76\00:06:02.09 I've been canvassing for three years, 00:06:02.12\00:06:04.13 and I've never saw the success that I've seen in this program. 00:06:04.16\00:06:08.90 So many books have gone out, 00:06:08.93\00:06:10.27 so many people are interested in The Great Controversy. 00:06:10.30\00:06:13.50 And I've seen, I saw that COVID-19 has helped us, 00:06:13.54\00:06:17.17 it helped people see a need, 00:06:17.21\00:06:19.04 it helped people think about eternity 00:06:19.07\00:06:23.71 and different things like that. 00:06:23.75\00:06:25.78 And it's been a blessing. 00:06:25.81\00:06:27.15 And we've just seen 00:06:27.18\00:06:28.52 amazing, amazing success in this program. 00:06:28.55\00:06:31.35 You know, that's really surprising to me, 00:06:31.39\00:06:33.76 because I would think that people would be afraid 00:06:33.79\00:06:35.79 to open their doors. 00:06:35.82\00:06:38.96 Yes, you know, we were like, surprised also, 00:06:38.99\00:06:41.66 because whenever we were coming to the program, 00:06:41.70\00:06:44.37 we were thinking that people would be very aware 00:06:44.40\00:06:48.37 and very kind of like apprehensive 00:06:48.40\00:06:50.71 to open their doors, 00:06:50.74\00:06:52.21 and even be willing to get any of these materials 00:06:52.24\00:06:54.71 with everything that's going on. 00:06:54.74\00:06:56.24 But we found 00:06:56.28\00:06:57.61 that God has actually turned this thing 00:06:57.65\00:07:00.05 into something good. 00:07:00.08\00:07:01.92 People are actually like 00:07:01.95\00:07:03.69 missing the contact with others, 00:07:03.72\00:07:07.72 and just having somebody come after so many, 00:07:07.76\00:07:11.16 you know, weeks of them just being isolated, 00:07:11.19\00:07:14.46 and bringing them hope for the future 00:07:14.50\00:07:17.17 that is found in God that has just, 00:07:17.20\00:07:20.24 it's been wonderful. 00:07:20.27\00:07:21.74 And so they're, 00:07:21.77\00:07:23.20 you know, the response that we've gotten 00:07:23.24\00:07:24.74 from the people 00:07:24.77\00:07:26.11 has been far better than any I've ever seen, 00:07:26.14\00:07:28.98 you know, in my short time of canvassing 00:07:29.01\00:07:31.55 and so, yeah, 00:07:31.58\00:07:32.91 we were also very, very surprised 00:07:32.95\00:07:34.78 at how things turned out. 00:07:34.82\00:07:36.75 You know, that makes a lot of sense. 00:07:36.79\00:07:38.72 Wow. 00:07:38.75\00:07:40.09 So I bet you meet a lot of interesting people 00:07:40.12\00:07:41.92 when you're out there. 00:07:41.96\00:07:43.39 So I wonder, can you share 00:07:43.43\00:07:45.49 somebody that stands out in your mind 00:07:45.53\00:07:47.16 that you met this summer? 00:07:47.20\00:07:50.33 Yeah, actually, this just happened 00:07:50.37\00:07:52.93 like the other day, like very recently. 00:07:52.97\00:07:57.34 Joshua dropped me off, he was the mobile one. 00:07:57.37\00:08:00.34 And he dropped me off at this gas station 00:08:00.38\00:08:02.14 right after lunch. 00:08:02.18\00:08:03.81 And I was not mentally prepared. 00:08:03.85\00:08:06.15 And I was not really willing to go either. 00:08:06.18\00:08:09.25 My initial response when he said, okay, Dailyn, 00:08:09.28\00:08:11.39 this is where you go, 00:08:11.42\00:08:12.75 I was like, I don't want to go. 00:08:12.79\00:08:16.02 But the Lord just kind of told me like, 00:08:16.06\00:08:18.29 be quick about it, just talk to this person. 00:08:18.33\00:08:21.26 And the gentleman I was speaking to, 00:08:21.30\00:08:23.06 he was not really interested. 00:08:23.10\00:08:24.43 He was super quick. He told me speak to my wife. 00:08:24.47\00:08:27.80 And so, I started canvassing them 00:08:27.84\00:08:29.74 on a children's book. 00:08:29.77\00:08:31.57 But the moment I pulled out The Great Controversy, 00:08:31.61\00:08:33.94 and I started canvassing her on that one, 00:08:33.98\00:08:37.15 she immediately froze, and she was like, 00:08:37.18\00:08:40.55 wow, you have no idea. 00:08:40.58\00:08:42.92 You might think this is a coincidence. 00:08:42.95\00:08:44.85 But yesterday, I was talking to my children 00:08:44.89\00:08:48.19 about what's in this book, 00:08:48.22\00:08:50.13 what you just told me that it's about, 00:08:50.16\00:08:51.99 and I just got off the phone right now with my brother. 00:08:52.03\00:08:55.40 And he was, I was telling him 00:08:55.43\00:08:58.00 that all of the riots and everything that's going on 00:08:58.03\00:09:00.27 is actually a sign that the end is near. 00:09:00.30\00:09:04.04 And then you come and you show me this book, 00:09:04.07\00:09:06.84 like you might think this is a coincidence, 00:09:06.88\00:09:09.04 but I know God sent you 00:09:09.08\00:09:11.55 and I know God sent these books. 00:09:11.58\00:09:13.75 And that just blew me away. 00:09:13.78\00:09:16.89 Because I've never seen God work like so clearly. 00:09:16.92\00:09:20.76 Just a few minutes right before I was dropped off 00:09:20.79\00:09:25.03 and I met this lady, 00:09:25.06\00:09:26.49 and I told her at canvas that I usually never use, 00:09:26.53\00:09:28.86 but the Lord works it out. 00:09:28.90\00:09:30.67 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:09:30.70\00:09:32.70 And I know you shared earlier with me, Joshua, 00:09:32.73\00:09:35.17 a story about somebody too. 00:09:35.20\00:09:37.24 Do you want to share that? 00:09:37.27\00:09:39.91 Yeah, I was canvassing several weeks ago 00:09:39.94\00:09:42.14 and I had knocked on this door. 00:09:42.18\00:09:44.81 It was really nice home 00:09:44.85\00:09:46.18 and this gentleman came to the door. 00:09:46.21\00:09:48.45 And I began canvassing him and he was a bigger gentleman, 00:09:48.48\00:09:52.72 um, looked like 00:09:52.75\00:09:54.39 somebody that would not be 00:09:54.42\00:09:55.76 too interested in Christian books. 00:09:55.79\00:09:58.09 And, but I continue to tell him about our books, 00:09:58.13\00:10:00.00 tell him about The Great Controversy 00:10:00.03\00:10:01.36 and The Desire of Ages. 00:10:01.40\00:10:03.40 And he began showing interest. 00:10:03.43\00:10:05.67 And he ended up buying three books from me. 00:10:05.70\00:10:08.67 And after he bought the books from me, he said, 00:10:08.70\00:10:10.21 "You know, I believe in divine appointments, 00:10:10.24\00:10:13.01 and I believe that God sent you here." 00:10:13.04\00:10:15.51 He had been going 00:10:15.54\00:10:16.88 through a lot of different things, 00:10:16.91\00:10:18.25 and he had just lost his wife. 00:10:18.28\00:10:19.61 And I asked him if I could pray with him 00:10:19.65\00:10:20.98 after he bought the three books. 00:10:21.02\00:10:22.92 And after I asked him, if I could pray with him, 00:10:22.95\00:10:24.95 this gentleman began crying. 00:10:24.99\00:10:28.02 And he started crying and that's when he told me 00:10:28.06\00:10:29.82 that he had just lost his wife, his wife had died. 00:10:29.86\00:10:31.63 And he was going 00:10:31.66\00:10:32.99 through a lot of different things. 00:10:33.03\00:10:34.36 And I was able to wrap my arms around the guy 00:10:34.40\00:10:36.87 and we prayed together. 00:10:36.90\00:10:39.13 And he actually signed up for Bible studies, 00:10:39.17\00:10:41.27 I told him that we knew the pastor of the church 00:10:41.30\00:10:43.30 that we're staying at here in Mississippi, 00:10:43.34\00:10:44.91 the college drive on Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:10:44.94\00:10:47.94 in Pearl, Mississippi, 00:10:47.98\00:10:49.74 that the pastor would be willing to do 00:10:49.78\00:10:51.11 Bible studies with him. 00:10:51.15\00:10:52.48 And he was very, very interested 00:10:52.51\00:10:53.85 in the Bible studies. 00:10:53.88\00:10:55.22 He signed up and his name is Kelsey. 00:10:55.25\00:10:57.95 And so maybe we could keep Kelsey in your prayers. 00:10:57.99\00:11:01.02 Definitely. 00:11:01.06\00:11:02.39 We'll definitely pray for him. 00:11:02.42\00:11:04.26 You know, it's such an important work 00:11:04.29\00:11:06.06 that you're doing. 00:11:06.09\00:11:07.43 And, Dailyn, I know 00:11:07.46\00:11:09.30 that you have a passion for this, 00:11:09.33\00:11:11.30 because you told me earlier, Jesus is coming so soon, 00:11:11.33\00:11:14.37 and we need to get the word out. 00:11:14.40\00:11:15.74 And I totally agree. 00:11:15.77\00:11:17.74 And thank you so much for the work that you're doing. 00:11:17.77\00:11:20.14 We're going to keep you all in prayer. 00:11:20.18\00:11:22.14 God bless you. 00:11:22.18\00:11:24.21 Thank you so much. Thank you. 00:11:24.25\00:11:27.48 Amen. That's an incredible roll. 00:11:27.52\00:11:29.78 We're so grateful for Julia O'Carey, 00:11:29.82\00:11:31.82 of course, she conducted that interview 00:11:31.85\00:11:34.59 with Joshua Holly, 00:11:34.62\00:11:36.09 hopefully, I get this name right, 00:11:36.12\00:11:37.46 and Dailyn Patino. 00:11:37.49\00:11:40.63 I'm not sure I pronounced that right. 00:11:40.66\00:11:42.00 But so grateful for Ouachita and their outreach, 00:11:42.03\00:11:46.23 especially with canvassing. 00:11:46.27\00:11:48.47 And that was an incredible testimony 00:11:48.50\00:11:50.37 about how they didn't even want to go 00:11:50.41\00:11:52.34 to the gas station 00:11:52.37\00:11:53.71 and said, I'm not going to canvass here. 00:11:53.74\00:11:55.08 And then God just worked that amazing miracle out. 00:11:55.11\00:11:57.71 Oh, it really is, you know, 00:11:57.75\00:11:59.08 I'm always encouraged by the stories, 00:11:59.11\00:12:00.45 you know, that people share, 00:12:00.48\00:12:01.82 you know, God is still alive and well. 00:12:01.85\00:12:03.52 Now, I think it's really amazing too 00:12:03.55\00:12:04.89 because in the midst of COVID, 00:12:04.92\00:12:06.25 they're talking about that, too, 00:12:06.29\00:12:07.62 that they're still going out and able to share the gospel 00:12:07.66\00:12:09.96 and there are people that are searching for truth. 00:12:09.99\00:12:12.13 So what a way to do that is to put literature out there 00:12:12.16\00:12:14.60 and, of course, it helps the students 00:12:14.63\00:12:16.60 and, you know, with their expenses, 00:12:16.63\00:12:18.83 and it's just a, it's a win-win. 00:12:18.87\00:12:20.20 So praise the Lord for that. Amen. 00:12:20.24\00:12:21.84 We're going to another academy next. 00:12:21.87\00:12:24.07 This is Heritage Academy, 00:12:24.11\00:12:25.51 and Greg and I've had the privilege 00:12:25.54\00:12:26.88 and opportunity to be there as well and visit. 00:12:26.91\00:12:30.35 In fact, I did some of my student teaching. 00:12:30.38\00:12:33.72 We won't say how many years ago at Heritage Academy. 00:12:33.75\00:12:36.75 Don't forget you're young, Baby. 00:12:36.79\00:12:38.12 Thank you. Yes, that's right. 00:12:38.15\00:12:39.49 You're young. 00:12:39.52\00:12:40.86 Debbie Baker is the president of Heritage Academy. 00:12:40.89\00:12:43.12 She and her husband, Doug, of course, 00:12:43.16\00:12:45.33 lead out there with the ministry. 00:12:45.36\00:12:47.33 Julia O'Carey did this interview as well. 00:12:47.36\00:12:50.00 But before we go to it, 00:12:50.03\00:12:51.37 Heritage Academy is really known 00:12:51.40\00:12:53.90 for their disaster response. 00:12:53.94\00:12:56.10 I think of many of the different academies, 00:12:56.14\00:12:59.07 they jump in and help when there's a need, 00:12:59.11\00:13:02.24 when there's a disaster. 00:13:02.28\00:13:03.61 They've done actually over 30 relief responses. 00:13:03.65\00:13:06.88 Well, yeah. 00:13:06.92\00:13:08.25 And, you know, they had a tragedy 00:13:08.28\00:13:09.62 that came through a disaster, natural disaster 00:13:09.65\00:13:11.15 that came through earlier this year, 00:13:11.19\00:13:13.46 basically, right in their backyard. 00:13:13.49\00:13:15.09 So we're going to talk about that 00:13:15.12\00:13:16.46 in this video roll too. 00:13:16.49\00:13:17.83 Should we go to that? 00:13:17.86\00:13:19.19 Absolutely. All right. 00:13:19.23\00:13:20.56 Let's go to that roll right now. 00:13:20.60\00:13:22.76 It's so great to be here with you, Debbie Baker. 00:13:22.80\00:13:25.83 Debbie is the president of the Heritage Academy. 00:13:25.87\00:13:30.07 And that's in middle of Tennessee, right? 00:13:30.11\00:13:32.34 That's right. Yeah. 00:13:32.37\00:13:33.71 And you know, I love how Heritage Academy 00:13:33.74\00:13:35.84 is known for disaster response. 00:13:35.88\00:13:38.51 And you've done 30 plus disaster relief efforts. 00:13:38.55\00:13:43.12 And the one you did in March 00:13:43.15\00:13:45.25 is a little unique, a little different. 00:13:45.29\00:13:47.09 Can you tell me about that? Sure. 00:13:47.12\00:13:49.32 You know, we typically have to travel somewhere, 00:13:49.36\00:13:51.23 right, to respond. 00:13:51.26\00:13:52.59 We pack things up, we set up 00:13:52.63\00:13:54.46 where we're going to be staying, 00:13:54.50\00:13:55.83 what we're going to be doing, 00:13:55.86\00:13:57.20 this was in our own backyard. 00:13:57.23\00:13:58.63 As a matter of fact, it surprised everybody, 00:13:58.67\00:14:03.64 started in Nashville. 00:14:03.67\00:14:05.04 We all saw the news that night. 00:14:05.07\00:14:07.64 You know, there was, 00:14:07.68\00:14:09.01 there were storms in southern Kentucky. 00:14:09.04\00:14:11.31 We were told, you know, watch out for Nashville 00:14:11.35\00:14:14.22 and the morning commute, 00:14:14.25\00:14:16.92 it's going to be a little rough. 00:14:16.95\00:14:19.32 So everybody went to bed 00:14:19.35\00:14:20.69 thinking it was going to be okay. 00:14:20.72\00:14:22.06 And about 1 o'clock in Nashville, 00:14:22.09\00:14:24.23 the tornado hit 00:14:24.26\00:14:25.66 and moved east and struck our little community 00:14:25.69\00:14:29.60 just about a half an hour west of us, 00:14:29.63\00:14:31.87 in a place called Cookeville 00:14:31.90\00:14:33.54 and unfortunately those folks with 56 or so towers down, 00:14:33.57\00:14:39.51 got no warning. 00:14:39.54\00:14:41.04 And 19 people lost their lives that night. 00:14:41.08\00:14:43.55 Oh, that's terrible. 00:14:43.58\00:14:44.91 Right. It was. 00:14:44.95\00:14:47.02 You know, while we've been to places 00:14:47.05\00:14:48.62 where lot of lives have been lost, 00:14:48.65\00:14:50.75 it's different when it's in your community, 00:14:50.79\00:14:52.95 when it's your neighbors 00:14:52.99\00:14:54.32 and for us it was difficult 00:14:54.36\00:14:56.06 because, you know, 00:14:56.09\00:14:58.23 some of the people that we knew them 00:14:58.26\00:15:00.26 so we, there was no question that we were going to respond. 00:15:00.30\00:15:04.60 So we got up that morning, 00:15:04.63\00:15:05.97 most of us having been hunkered down 00:15:06.00\00:15:07.34 in our basements 00:15:07.37\00:15:09.04 or in our safe places that night, 00:15:09.07\00:15:11.07 and got up that morning to do what we could to help. 00:15:11.11\00:15:14.31 Wow. So what happened? 00:15:14.34\00:15:15.84 What did you guys do and who was involved? 00:15:15.88\00:15:17.91 Right. 00:15:17.95\00:15:19.28 Well, everybody, everybody, 00:15:19.31\00:15:20.65 Heritage knows you're all involved, right? 00:15:20.68\00:15:22.08 Everybody's trained in disaster response. 00:15:22.12\00:15:24.25 So everybody knew 00:15:24.29\00:15:25.62 and, of course, everybody knew 00:15:25.65\00:15:26.99 there was a problem, right? 00:15:27.02\00:15:28.36 Because we were all in our safe places for an hour. 00:15:28.39\00:15:31.13 So the tornado had gone up and over our campus, 00:15:31.16\00:15:34.40 never touched down there. 00:15:34.43\00:15:35.96 But up and over, and yeah, 00:15:36.00\00:15:37.53 I was in my basement hearing water flow backwards. 00:15:37.57\00:15:41.67 It was probably the most harrowing 00:15:41.70\00:15:43.64 I've personally been in before, 00:15:43.67\00:15:45.24 nothing like what our neighbors experienced. 00:15:45.27\00:15:47.94 But we packed everybody up, 00:15:47.98\00:15:49.94 we contacted 00:15:49.98\00:15:51.31 the disaster response folks in Cookeville 00:15:51.35\00:15:53.45 that were already hitting the ground running, 00:15:53.48\00:15:55.75 ask what we could do and started debris removal. 00:15:55.78\00:15:58.65 So we just started cleaning up people's houses 00:15:58.69\00:16:01.69 and, you know, cutting trees up and moving them to the yard 00:16:01.72\00:16:06.26 and to the street and things like that. 00:16:06.29\00:16:08.73 So, you know, that keeps everybody busy, 00:16:08.76\00:16:12.17 all kinds of debris to clean up so. 00:16:12.20\00:16:14.34 For sure. 00:16:14.37\00:16:15.70 And then after that, something special happened? 00:16:15.74\00:16:18.64 It did, it did. 00:16:18.67\00:16:20.01 That day, we worked all day doing that, 00:16:20.04\00:16:22.64 and that evening, the incident commander, 00:16:22.68\00:16:26.41 he's the guy kind of set by the county in charge 00:16:26.45\00:16:28.78 of that particular incident 00:16:28.82\00:16:30.89 and he asked me to meet him 00:16:30.92\00:16:32.45 at the community center in Cookeville. 00:16:32.49\00:16:34.36 And I met him there that evening and said, 00:16:34.39\00:16:37.09 we would like you to run this point of distribution, 00:16:37.13\00:16:40.20 a pod, we call it 00:16:40.23\00:16:41.73 and I had lots of experience 00:16:41.76\00:16:43.30 in pod establishment and running 00:16:43.33\00:16:45.67 and then disassembling before... 00:16:45.70\00:16:47.37 Now was this different? 00:16:47.40\00:16:48.74 This was different 00:16:48.77\00:16:50.11 because we had crazy outpouring, 00:16:50.14\00:16:52.91 not just from our own community 00:16:52.94\00:16:54.28 and people there, 00:16:54.31\00:16:55.64 but from around the country, even the world, 00:16:55.68\00:16:58.01 we had a container shipment from Australia sent to us, 00:16:58.05\00:17:02.98 in the midst of their fires, 00:17:03.02\00:17:04.85 they thought of a little Cookeville 00:17:04.89\00:17:06.82 and our needs. 00:17:06.86\00:17:08.19 So we had this huge SAMS 00:17:08.22\00:17:11.09 pretty much in this community center 00:17:11.13\00:17:13.53 to meet the needs of these folks 00:17:13.56\00:17:15.53 that had been displaced and... 00:17:15.56\00:17:17.77 So it was your job, 00:17:17.80\00:17:19.37 your school's job to distribute everything 00:17:19.40\00:17:21.97 that was pouring in? 00:17:22.00\00:17:23.34 That's right. 00:17:23.37\00:17:24.71 And typically with a pod, it's ice water, 00:17:24.74\00:17:27.14 the military meals ready to eat. 00:17:27.18\00:17:28.71 But this wasn't just that, this was everything. 00:17:28.74\00:17:32.58 I mean, from batteries to, you name it, 00:17:32.61\00:17:34.88 and the most incredible thing for me personally was that 00:17:34.92\00:17:39.79 after people went around our liaisons 00:17:39.82\00:17:41.96 that went with them listen to their stories. 00:17:41.99\00:17:44.46 And I had a little girl come there, 00:17:44.49\00:17:46.90 you know, I always told them if there's anything 00:17:46.93\00:17:48.56 that they need that you don't see here, 00:17:48.60\00:17:50.87 bring them to me and let me see what I can do. 00:17:50.90\00:17:52.73 And for me, that was incredible 00:17:52.77\00:17:54.90 for to hear their stories 00:17:54.94\00:17:56.77 and then be able to meet their needs. 00:17:56.81\00:17:58.51 And there was a little girl that came. 00:17:58.54\00:18:01.51 She could have been 20, 00:18:01.54\00:18:02.88 I'm going to try not to tear up. 00:18:02.91\00:18:04.25 It's a little intense, 00:18:04.28\00:18:05.61 but she lost her father and her brother... 00:18:05.65\00:18:07.32 In the, in the tornado? 00:18:07.35\00:18:08.68 In the tornado 00:18:08.72\00:18:10.05 and her mother was at Erlanger in Chattanooga, 00:18:10.09\00:18:12.32 in a coma, 00:18:12.35\00:18:13.69 and didn't know 00:18:13.72\00:18:15.06 that she had lost her husband and son. 00:18:15.09\00:18:16.89 And this little girl 00:18:16.93\00:18:18.26 couldn't have been 20 years old, 00:18:18.29\00:18:19.63 didn't know what to do. 00:18:19.66\00:18:21.00 And she just broke down. 00:18:21.03\00:18:22.36 And she said, My... 00:18:22.40\00:18:24.57 I asked her, 00:18:24.60\00:18:25.93 "Where's your brother and your father?" 00:18:25.97\00:18:27.50 And she said, "At the funeral home, 00:18:27.54\00:18:28.90 and I don't have any means to bury them." 00:18:28.94\00:18:32.67 And so, I praise God 00:18:32.71\00:18:34.54 that one of the things we could offer 00:18:34.58\00:18:36.48 were contacts with folks in the community that said, 00:18:36.51\00:18:38.88 I can't be there to do the dirty work, 00:18:38.91\00:18:40.68 but I can give money. 00:18:40.72\00:18:42.48 And so, I contacted a couple of churches 00:18:42.52\00:18:45.15 and a couple of individuals 00:18:45.19\00:18:46.62 and their entire funerals were covered. 00:18:46.65\00:18:49.42 Everything was taken care of. 00:18:49.46\00:18:51.33 She just walked away. 00:18:51.36\00:18:52.76 She gave me the biggest hug and she said 00:18:52.79\00:18:54.56 you don't know how this has changed our lives. 00:18:54.60\00:18:57.97 You know what a weight off of my shoulders. 00:18:58.00\00:19:00.34 Oh, Debbie, that gives me chills. 00:19:00.37\00:19:02.04 That is so beautiful. 00:19:02.07\00:19:03.71 Yeah, it's incredible. 00:19:03.74\00:19:05.07 So I have three or four day pod ended up being a six-week pod. 00:19:05.11\00:19:08.24 We stayed open even through COVID 00:19:08.28\00:19:10.41 ministering to our local community, 00:19:10.45\00:19:12.61 ministering to a lady that I met there 00:19:12.65\00:19:15.38 all the way through to even just this past week. 00:19:15.42\00:19:17.95 We put an awning on the outside of her new home. 00:19:17.99\00:19:21.09 And we have a fast friendship, I think for eternity so... 00:19:21.12\00:19:24.56 Wow, you know what? 00:19:24.59\00:19:25.99 I can just picture Jesus smile when He comes back, 00:19:26.03\00:19:29.33 saying, "Well done Heritage Academy. 00:19:29.36\00:19:32.10 You took care of My town Cookeville for Me." 00:19:32.13\00:19:36.64 Praise the Lord for that. 00:19:36.67\00:19:38.01 Thank you so much for sharing. 00:19:38.04\00:19:39.47 Thank you. 00:19:39.51\00:19:42.58 Amen. 00:19:42.61\00:19:43.95 I love to hear testimonies like that, 00:19:43.98\00:19:45.91 to hear how young people can get involved in ministry 00:19:45.95\00:19:50.79 and ministry takes many forms. 00:19:50.82\00:19:52.35 Ministry can look like helping someone like they did 00:19:52.39\00:19:55.99 with this disaster response. 00:19:56.02\00:19:57.66 Ministry can look like selling books 00:19:57.69\00:20:00.56 or passing out books 00:20:00.60\00:20:01.93 as Ouachita Hills Academy and College does 00:20:01.96\00:20:04.03 with the canvassing program. 00:20:04.07\00:20:05.63 Ministry can also take other forms. 00:20:05.67\00:20:08.10 We're going, the next interview will be done by Debbie Young 00:20:08.14\00:20:11.44 and, of course, we love Debbie Young as well. 00:20:11.47\00:20:13.58 She and Julia O'Carey 00:20:13.61\00:20:15.08 are such an integral part of the ministry of ASI. 00:20:15.11\00:20:18.55 They've both been here 00:20:18.58\00:20:19.91 with their respective ministries 00:20:19.95\00:20:21.58 here to 3ABN 00:20:21.62\00:20:22.95 and we're so grateful for them for doing these interviews. 00:20:22.98\00:20:25.72 But this interview Debbie did is with Tony Moore, 00:20:25.75\00:20:29.69 Biblical World Ministries. 00:20:29.72\00:20:31.93 And if you're familiar with 3ABN at all, 00:20:31.96\00:20:34.96 if you've watched 3ABN for any length of time, 00:20:35.00\00:20:37.67 I'm sure you've seen the programs 00:20:37.70\00:20:39.83 that he has produced, 00:20:39.87\00:20:41.27 Biblical World, 00:20:41.30\00:20:42.64 In The Footsteps of Paul is one of the programs 00:20:42.67\00:20:44.37 I think of specifically, 00:20:44.41\00:20:45.74 which is an amazing program because of the scenery. 00:20:45.77\00:20:48.78 Yeah. 00:20:48.81\00:20:50.15 And I think also, you know, the biblical truths 00:20:50.18\00:20:51.51 that he's bringing out 00:20:51.55\00:20:52.88 and, you know, and you love history, of course 00:20:52.91\00:20:54.38 and, of course, I know is very near and dear 00:20:54.42\00:20:56.18 to your heart. 00:20:56.22\00:20:57.55 So there's a new series that he's working on, 00:20:57.59\00:20:59.72 called the Grand Narrative, The Great Controversy theme, 00:20:59.75\00:21:02.72 can talk about that. 00:21:02.76\00:21:04.09 So let's go to this roll right now. 00:21:04.13\00:21:05.59 And we have Tony Moore with us from the Biblical World 00:21:08.86\00:21:11.80 who takes us to wonderful Bible lands 00:21:11.83\00:21:14.10 and brings those stories to life. 00:21:14.14\00:21:16.14 Tony, so glad to have you here with us. 00:21:16.17\00:21:18.01 Tell us a little bit about the Biblical World Ministry? 00:21:18.04\00:21:22.48 Oh, well, we have two wonderful programs 00:21:22.51\00:21:24.71 that people enjoy around the world, 00:21:24.75\00:21:26.08 The Footsteps of Paul 00:21:26.11\00:21:27.62 and Tracing the Footsteps of Jesus, 00:21:27.65\00:21:29.45 they enjoy them on Adventist television, 00:21:29.48\00:21:31.25 but it's a dimension that people don't often see 00:21:31.29\00:21:33.79 and that's the dimension of the study guides, 00:21:33.82\00:21:36.12 we have beautiful study guides that go along with it. 00:21:36.16\00:21:38.93 And it makes it excellent to use 00:21:38.96\00:21:40.60 with an evangelistic outreach 00:21:40.63\00:21:42.03 where a small group, 00:21:42.06\00:21:43.60 actually academies use it for bottle programs, 00:21:43.63\00:21:46.20 and people use it for homeschool, 00:21:46.23\00:21:47.87 a really wonderful resource. 00:21:47.90\00:21:50.01 So more than just the television program. 00:21:50.04\00:21:52.01 So tell us what's new with Biblical World? 00:21:52.04\00:21:55.48 Well, for several years, 00:21:55.51\00:21:56.85 we've been working on the Grand Narrative. 00:21:56.88\00:21:58.68 And this is a really ambitious project 00:21:58.71\00:22:00.88 49 episodes, 00:22:00.92\00:22:02.92 that we've kind of broken that down 00:22:02.95\00:22:04.29 into seven volumes, Debbie. 00:22:04.32\00:22:05.65 So it's not just 49 strung out, but seven volumes. 00:22:05.69\00:22:09.59 And this is really an exciting series. 00:22:09.62\00:22:12.69 That sounds pretty exciting. 00:22:12.73\00:22:14.20 Can you tell us a little bit about what you saw? 00:22:14.23\00:22:16.70 What does that mean, The Grand Narrative? 00:22:16.73\00:22:20.24 You might think of it as The Great Controversy theme. 00:22:20.27\00:22:23.10 So we actually begin post flood 00:22:23.14\00:22:26.07 as they go down into the land or Shinar 00:22:26.11\00:22:27.84 which history calls the land of Sumer 00:22:27.88\00:22:30.38 and that's where civilization begins. 00:22:30.41\00:22:32.55 And then we trace down through time, 00:22:32.58\00:22:35.68 again, seven volumes that will take us down 00:22:35.72\00:22:38.05 to the age of the early church. 00:22:38.09\00:22:40.76 So we basically cover all of that. 00:22:40.79\00:22:43.06 So it's really exciting. 00:22:43.09\00:22:44.43 It's really the theme of The Great Controversy, 00:22:44.46\00:22:46.03 trying to bring the Bible stories to life. 00:22:46.06\00:22:48.36 So I believe we have a video clip 00:22:48.40\00:22:49.96 that can actually give us a picture 00:22:50.00\00:22:51.83 of what we can expect? 00:22:51.87\00:22:54.80 That's right, this is from Volume I, 00:22:54.84\00:22:56.84 which is just being released this month. 00:22:56.87\00:22:59.74 Okay, well, let's take a look at that clip now. 00:22:59.77\00:23:02.08 The Bible identifies the Tigris and Euphrates 00:23:48.02\00:23:51.73 as two of the four rivers 00:23:51.76\00:23:53.83 flowing through the Garden of Eden. 00:23:53.86\00:23:56.00 Genesis, the first book in the Bible 00:23:56.03\00:23:58.37 describes how the Ark of Noah 00:23:58.40\00:24:00.40 came to rest on the mountains of Ararat 00:24:00.44\00:24:03.20 and how is the people moved eastward, 00:24:03.24\00:24:05.81 they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. 00:24:05.84\00:24:11.18 This plain of Shinar is the same plain as Sumer 00:24:11.21\00:24:15.18 that historians and researchers have identified 00:24:15.22\00:24:18.29 as the cradle of civilization. 00:24:18.32\00:24:21.26 Isn't it amazing to see how the Bible 00:24:21.29\00:24:23.66 and history dovetail together? 00:24:23.69\00:24:26.49 Hi, my name is Tony Moore, 00:24:26.53\00:24:27.96 and welcome to the world of the Bible 00:24:28.00\00:24:30.33 as we explore the places 00:24:30.37\00:24:31.97 where the biblical story actually happened. 00:24:32.00\00:24:35.17 In this fascinating series, 00:24:35.20\00:24:37.27 I will take you on location 00:24:37.31\00:24:39.11 to explore the world of the patriarchs, 00:24:39.14\00:24:42.01 the prophets and the kings. 00:24:42.04\00:24:45.01 We'll also explore the world of Jesus, 00:24:45.05\00:24:48.08 the apostles, the apocalypse, and even the church. 00:24:48.12\00:24:54.06 In this series, 00:24:54.09\00:24:55.42 we will trace the grand narrative 00:24:55.46\00:24:57.39 that ties together 00:24:57.43\00:24:58.76 this seemingly separated and isolated events 00:24:58.79\00:25:01.86 that have happened throughout time, 00:25:01.90\00:25:04.43 revealing God's hand and involvement 00:25:04.47\00:25:07.34 moving to the course of His story. 00:25:07.37\00:25:10.97 This grand narrative 00:25:11.01\00:25:12.67 flows to more than 4,500 years of time, 00:25:12.71\00:25:16.64 providing a common thread 00:25:16.68\00:25:18.61 tying together the past with the present. 00:25:18.65\00:25:21.78 This comprehensive theme 00:25:21.82\00:25:23.99 can also be called The Great Controversy, 00:25:24.02\00:25:27.22 since it chronicles the battles between good and evil 00:25:27.26\00:25:31.23 that have been unfolding since the beginning of time. 00:25:31.26\00:25:34.83 This grand sweep of the ages, 00:25:34.86\00:25:37.17 filmed on location 00:25:37.20\00:25:38.53 will bring many of these stories to life, 00:25:38.57\00:25:41.04 revealing the critical issues involved in this epic conflict. 00:25:41.07\00:25:45.37 Wow, that is really beautiful scenery, 00:25:45.41\00:25:48.24 I feel like I've just been dropped 00:25:48.28\00:25:49.68 into the middle of the Bible. 00:25:49.71\00:25:51.41 So I know that Volume I is finished. 00:25:51.45\00:25:54.08 Where are you with Volume II? 00:25:54.12\00:25:55.45 And then tell us about the current project, 00:25:55.48\00:25:58.32 which is Volume III, 00:25:58.35\00:25:59.69 that is on the offering list for this year? 00:25:59.72\00:26:03.32 Well, Volume II is the World of the Exodus. 00:26:03.36\00:26:05.13 And unfortunately, we have already filmed this. 00:26:05.16\00:26:07.83 And so we'd be working on post production, 00:26:07.86\00:26:10.43 and hope to have it available by Christmas. 00:26:10.47\00:26:12.93 Volume II, the World of the Kings, 00:26:12.97\00:26:14.70 we are writing the material, preparing the material. 00:26:14.74\00:26:17.77 And God willing, 00:26:17.81\00:26:19.14 we'll be filming that in the spring of 2021. 00:26:19.17\00:26:23.48 And hope to have that available later in the summer from that. 00:26:23.51\00:26:27.15 So we have to go back and film that, 00:26:27.18\00:26:28.52 we film on locations. 00:26:28.55\00:26:29.88 And it's pretty exciting, that little altar, 00:26:29.92\00:26:31.25 by the way is from Tel Dan. 00:26:31.29\00:26:33.25 And you might remember that 00:26:33.29\00:26:34.62 that's where after the Israel was divided 00:26:34.66\00:26:36.89 into Israel and Judah, 00:26:36.93\00:26:39.69 that that was one of the places of false worship. 00:26:39.73\00:26:42.70 And so, some of the big issues 00:26:42.73\00:26:44.07 that come together in Volume III, 00:26:44.10\00:26:45.43 of the World of Kings, 00:26:45.47\00:26:46.80 we can see the apostasy and the prophets 00:26:46.84\00:26:48.70 trying to call them back 00:26:48.74\00:26:50.07 like Elijah and the Jesuit old story. 00:26:50.11\00:26:52.14 So many stories that take place in the Bible 00:26:52.17\00:26:55.04 that we again hope to bring to life, 00:26:55.08\00:26:57.25 and so, part of the offering is to support that this year. 00:26:57.28\00:27:00.68 And I can see how this would really bring 00:27:00.72\00:27:02.48 the Bible to life 00:27:02.52\00:27:03.85 and it would be really exciting 00:27:03.89\00:27:05.22 for people to use and read in Bible study. 00:27:05.25\00:27:08.29 So that would be great. 00:27:08.32\00:27:09.69 You know, we're literally looking forward 00:27:09.72\00:27:11.06 to seeing this. 00:27:11.09\00:27:12.43 And thank you so much, Tony, 00:27:12.46\00:27:13.80 for what you're doing with Biblical World 00:27:13.83\00:27:15.40 and kind of opening up the Bible 00:27:15.43\00:27:16.97 so that we can see 00:27:17.00\00:27:18.67 not just hear about what happened in the Bible 00:27:18.70\00:27:22.00 and actually walk the walk 00:27:22.04\00:27:24.01 that Jesus walked 00:27:24.04\00:27:25.37 and understand what's going on there. 00:27:25.41\00:27:26.74 Thank you very much, Tony. 00:27:26.78\00:27:29.18 Thank you. 00:27:29.21\00:27:31.91 I am so looking forward 00:27:31.95\00:27:33.31 to seeing that brand new series. 00:27:33.35\00:27:35.68 And we might have to air that on 3ABN. 00:27:35.72\00:27:37.55 I think so. Yes, absolutely. 00:27:37.59\00:27:39.55 One of the things I love is just the, 00:27:39.59\00:27:41.99 being in the actual place where that happened, 00:27:42.02\00:27:44.59 you know, whether it's Mars Hill, 00:27:44.63\00:27:46.56 whether it's Greece, or Athens, or Rome, or Israel, 00:27:46.59\00:27:50.43 or although I think of all the different projects 00:27:50.47\00:27:52.30 that he has done and filming on location 00:27:52.33\00:27:54.70 makes such a difference. 00:27:54.74\00:27:56.07 It really does. It brings it to life. 00:27:56.10\00:27:57.71 And you know, not all of us have the opportunity 00:27:57.74\00:27:59.47 to travel to different parts of the world. 00:27:59.51\00:28:01.04 So what a blessing 00:28:01.08\00:28:02.41 that God's given this ministry and this heart 00:28:02.44\00:28:04.81 for sharing the gospel this way. 00:28:04.85\00:28:06.18 Amen. 00:28:06.21\00:28:07.55 We're going next to another Academy. 00:28:07.58\00:28:09.58 This is Harbert Hills Academy. 00:28:09.62\00:28:11.89 And Debbie Young 00:28:11.92\00:28:13.25 had the opportunity to sit down 00:28:13.29\00:28:14.72 with actual the president of Harbert Hills, 00:28:14.76\00:28:17.53 but also the president of ASI. 00:28:17.56\00:28:20.50 This is, of course, Pastor Steve Dickman, 00:28:20.53\00:28:22.63 and just want to say how grateful we are 00:28:22.66\00:28:25.10 here at 3ABN 00:28:25.13\00:28:26.47 for Pastor Steve Dickman's leadership of ASI, 00:28:26.50\00:28:28.67 he does an amazing job. 00:28:28.70\00:28:30.04 I agree. 00:28:30.07\00:28:31.41 You know, Pastor Steve has, 00:28:31.44\00:28:32.77 he has such a heart for young people, 00:28:32.81\00:28:34.14 and for others, and of course, the ministry of ASI. 00:28:34.18\00:28:36.44 He's such a busy man. 00:28:36.48\00:28:37.81 You know, it's just amazing 00:28:37.85\00:28:39.18 when I tried to get a hold of him, 00:28:39.21\00:28:40.55 you know, he just always takes the time, 00:28:40.58\00:28:42.05 you know, to listen and to talk 00:28:42.08\00:28:43.52 and I know he has so many responsibilities, 00:28:43.55\00:28:45.25 but he loves the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:28:45.29\00:28:47.42 And this roll, video roll 00:28:47.46\00:28:49.02 that we're getting ready to go to. 00:28:49.06\00:28:50.66 I like it, because he talks a lot 00:28:50.69\00:28:52.03 about the practical education of an academy, 00:28:52.06\00:28:55.36 which that's how I grew up, 00:28:55.40\00:28:57.43 I was homeschooled. 00:28:57.47\00:28:58.80 But I had the opportunity to work with my father. 00:28:58.83\00:29:00.87 And, of course, they very much believed in me 00:29:00.90\00:29:02.94 being in the garden, pulling weeds, 00:29:02.97\00:29:04.84 taking a hammer and nail and nailing boards together. 00:29:04.87\00:29:07.58 So I like the practical aspect of this academy 00:29:07.61\00:29:10.51 and, of course, many academies do that as well. 00:29:10.55\00:29:12.05 But this will be a fun roll. 00:29:12.08\00:29:13.42 It will indeed, 00:29:13.45\00:29:14.78 and they're also talking about some of the funds for ASI 00:29:14.82\00:29:18.09 have gone for Harbert Hills Academy, 00:29:18.12\00:29:20.19 especially for a new staff housing project. 00:29:20.22\00:29:22.06 And sometimes we think, 00:29:22.09\00:29:23.43 okay, we want to give funds to help what? 00:29:23.46\00:29:25.86 Spread the gospel with evangelism 00:29:25.89\00:29:28.36 or colporteuring or whatever. 00:29:28.40\00:29:31.03 But in this sense, 00:29:31.07\00:29:32.73 housing is vitally important for staff 00:29:32.77\00:29:36.67 in order for that infrastructure 00:29:36.71\00:29:38.41 in order to maintain a school and to go and grow. 00:29:38.44\00:29:41.31 So let's take a look at that interview now. 00:29:41.34\00:29:45.71 At Harbert Hills Academy, 00:29:45.75\00:29:47.12 we believe in the divine model of education, 00:29:47.15\00:29:50.85 where practical training, 00:29:50.89\00:29:52.89 academic training and spiritual training 00:29:52.92\00:29:55.46 all go hand in hand 00:29:55.49\00:29:57.19 to produce a young person who is able to go forth 00:29:57.23\00:30:00.13 and serve God wherever he may be called. 00:30:00.16\00:30:03.30 One of the projects here at Harbert Hills Academy 00:30:03.33\00:30:05.97 that we've partnered with ASI and other donors on 00:30:06.00\00:30:09.10 is our new staff housing project. 00:30:09.14\00:30:11.91 The need for this project was so evident. 00:30:11.94\00:30:14.81 Over the years, 00:30:14.84\00:30:16.24 we have accumulated five mobile homes 00:30:16.28\00:30:19.51 here on our campus, 00:30:19.55\00:30:21.15 and mobile homes 00:30:21.18\00:30:22.52 unfortunately reached the end of their useful life 00:30:22.55\00:30:25.85 rather quickly. 00:30:25.89\00:30:27.22 So permanent staff housing has been a need here. 00:30:27.26\00:30:30.16 This project was launched about a year and a half ago. 00:30:30.19\00:30:33.46 And today, we are working on house number nine. 00:30:33.50\00:30:37.43 That's an amazing journey 00:30:37.47\00:30:38.80 over the last past year and a half. 00:30:38.83\00:30:40.70 It's been a real blessing 00:30:40.74\00:30:42.17 to our staff and to our students, 00:30:42.20\00:30:44.64 to see the students advanced in skill level 00:30:44.67\00:30:47.94 as they applied their hands 00:30:47.98\00:30:50.48 and their arms and their muscles 00:30:50.51\00:30:53.01 to help build these houses. 00:30:53.05\00:30:55.48 As the staff have worked together 00:30:55.52\00:30:57.49 with students and gained skills themselves. 00:30:57.52\00:30:59.75 It's been an amazing journey. 00:30:59.79\00:31:01.82 And it has benefited the students 00:31:01.86\00:31:03.19 in more ways than one. 00:31:03.22\00:31:04.56 They've learned 00:31:04.59\00:31:05.93 practical problem-solving skills, 00:31:05.96\00:31:07.50 they've learned hands on skills 00:31:07.53\00:31:09.03 that they will use for the rest of their life, 00:31:09.06\00:31:11.43 and things they can do for themselves. 00:31:11.47\00:31:14.10 So we are so thankful 00:31:14.14\00:31:16.00 that we've had the opportunity to build these homes. 00:31:16.04\00:31:18.97 The impact, though, has not been limited 00:31:19.01\00:31:21.08 to the campus at Harbert Hills Academy. 00:31:21.11\00:31:23.48 Other institutions are now benefiting 00:31:23.51\00:31:25.65 from this model of building homes here, 00:31:25.68\00:31:28.38 that has been put together. 00:31:28.42\00:31:30.32 So across the campuses 00:31:30.35\00:31:31.99 of our self-supporting institutions 00:31:32.02\00:31:33.69 across this nation, 00:31:33.72\00:31:35.62 there are many needs for staff housing. 00:31:35.66\00:31:38.39 We're hoping that this project will impact them as well. 00:31:38.43\00:31:41.33 But we want to take this opportunity 00:31:41.36\00:31:43.16 to say a special thank you to ASI, 00:31:43.20\00:31:45.73 a special thank you to other donors 00:31:45.77\00:31:47.60 who have engaged in this. 00:31:47.64\00:31:49.14 Lifting students confidence, 00:31:49.17\00:31:51.31 engaged in helping staff with permanent housing, 00:31:51.34\00:31:54.54 engaged in helping an institution 00:31:54.58\00:31:56.88 bring up the level of professionalism 00:31:56.91\00:32:00.05 among its staff and students. 00:32:00.08\00:32:02.02 Thank you for what you've done. 00:32:02.05\00:32:03.82 God bless you. 00:32:03.85\00:32:05.19 Steve, that was a very informative video. 00:32:11.46\00:32:13.80 What other messages would you like us 00:32:13.83\00:32:15.80 to take away from that, from that experience? 00:32:15.83\00:32:19.33 You know, Debbie, as I think about what's happened here, 00:32:19.37\00:32:23.20 I recognize that we're living in a very unique time 00:32:23.24\00:32:28.14 in earth's history first of all. 00:32:28.18\00:32:30.41 This message that we have to get 00:32:30.45\00:32:32.48 to the world, the gospel, the three angels' messages, 00:32:32.51\00:32:35.22 it's so needed around the world, 00:32:35.25\00:32:37.89 and we need young people who are trained rightly. 00:32:37.92\00:32:40.52 And there's a Spirit of Prophecy quote 00:32:40.56\00:32:42.99 out of book Education, 00:32:43.02\00:32:44.83 that says, you know, basically, 00:32:44.86\00:32:46.19 with such an army of young people, 00:32:46.23\00:32:48.53 as our youth rightly trained. 00:32:48.56\00:32:50.63 Well, that means we need institutions 00:32:50.67\00:32:52.60 that are training rightly. 00:32:52.63\00:32:54.17 And in order to have institutions, 00:32:54.20\00:32:55.70 you need to have infrastructure. 00:32:55.74\00:32:57.57 And while infrastructure is not as exciting sometimes 00:32:57.61\00:33:00.41 as some of the other frontline things, 00:33:00.44\00:33:02.58 it's definitely a need among many of our institutions 00:33:02.61\00:33:05.68 scattered across this country. 00:33:05.71\00:33:07.58 And so as we have invested in this project, 00:33:07.62\00:33:10.42 and matured the process, 00:33:10.45\00:33:13.15 and these houses have been going up, 00:33:13.19\00:33:15.26 I've been thinking what a blessing it will be 00:33:15.29\00:33:17.89 if we can do something more than this, 00:33:17.93\00:33:19.76 something more than just help Harbert Hills, 00:33:19.79\00:33:21.90 we want to help other institutions 00:33:21.93\00:33:24.13 to actually improve their housing situation, 00:33:24.17\00:33:27.40 so that their staff can be more comfortable 00:33:27.44\00:33:29.94 and the training that takes place 00:33:29.97\00:33:32.21 will be the focus, 00:33:32.24\00:33:33.58 not necessarily the maintenance of the infrastructure. 00:33:33.61\00:33:37.18 So you know, this is, like I said, 00:33:37.21\00:33:39.25 it's amazing opportunity for us to join together, 00:33:39.28\00:33:42.48 and to do something for other institutions as well. 00:33:42.52\00:33:46.05 Now, Debbie, you and I had both been involved in ASI 00:33:46.09\00:33:48.82 for quite a while. 00:33:48.86\00:33:50.19 And we know 00:33:50.23\00:33:51.56 that when ASI takes up something, 00:33:51.59\00:33:53.19 it generally likes to have projects 00:33:53.23\00:33:55.10 that have application beyond that specific project. 00:33:55.13\00:33:59.53 And this project does, 00:33:59.57\00:34:01.17 it has application at many other institutions. 00:34:01.20\00:34:04.34 And we feel it's a model that can be followed 00:34:04.37\00:34:06.61 and ASI would like to see a project mature 00:34:06.64\00:34:10.75 that can begin to build one or two of these 00:34:10.78\00:34:13.25 across the country at different institutions, 00:34:13.28\00:34:16.25 different selected entities across the US, 00:34:16.28\00:34:19.99 maybe build a one or two a year 00:34:20.02\00:34:21.62 and just help our institutions to kind of raise the bar 00:34:21.66\00:34:25.06 on their housing, 00:34:25.09\00:34:26.43 and how they accommodate their staff. 00:34:26.46\00:34:29.03 So, Steve, give me an idea perspective of need, 00:34:29.06\00:34:31.97 about how many institutions might you surmise 00:34:32.00\00:34:35.10 would have this kind of a need? 00:34:35.14\00:34:38.54 Well, I'm thinking of the Uchee Pines for one, 00:34:38.57\00:34:42.51 just the need there is huge. 00:34:42.54\00:34:44.31 They have, 00:34:44.35\00:34:45.68 in fact, already are building two of these homes there. 00:34:45.71\00:34:49.68 And finishing one, it'll be occupied August 15. 00:34:49.72\00:34:53.15 So that's exciting. 00:34:53.19\00:34:54.52 But then you go on 00:34:54.56\00:34:55.89 and you can talk about Wildwood, 00:34:55.92\00:34:57.26 and you can talk about Laura Brooke, 00:34:57.29\00:34:58.86 and you can talk about Heritage 00:34:58.89\00:35:00.50 and there are academies and Weimar 00:35:00.53\00:35:03.13 and other, even our health institutions 00:35:03.16\00:35:05.80 and our schools across this nation, 00:35:05.83\00:35:08.44 a good share of them are in need 00:35:08.47\00:35:10.24 of in either enhancing their staff housing 00:35:10.27\00:35:13.21 or increasing their staff housing. 00:35:13.24\00:35:15.51 And so, I think this can be a huge blessing and a benefit. 00:35:15.54\00:35:19.11 So tell me, what has one of the students, 00:35:19.15\00:35:21.58 have they indicated 00:35:21.62\00:35:22.95 that this has been a blessing to them 00:35:22.98\00:35:24.32 to be involved in this way? 00:35:24.35\00:35:26.79 You know, Debbie, one of my other jobs here 00:35:26.82\00:35:29.02 is I get to teach some classes. 00:35:29.06\00:35:31.03 And I love teaching, 00:35:31.06\00:35:32.39 I love interacting with young people. 00:35:32.43\00:35:34.43 And I think back this past year to class, 00:35:34.46\00:35:36.87 and every week during class time, 00:35:36.90\00:35:39.50 we always had a project to work on, 00:35:39.53\00:35:41.77 we always had something real for them to put their hand to, 00:35:41.80\00:35:44.97 and to engage in learning new skills. 00:35:45.01\00:35:46.91 I think of the, 00:35:46.94\00:35:48.28 you know, the young ladies learning to put insulation in 00:35:48.31\00:35:51.05 and in frame walls and put up trusses 00:35:51.08\00:35:54.18 and those skills are invaluable skills 00:35:54.22\00:35:57.05 that they take with them for the rest of their life. 00:35:57.09\00:35:59.09 And the young men are gaining skills 00:35:59.12\00:36:01.42 with things 00:36:01.46\00:36:02.79 that they're just invaluable skills. 00:36:02.82\00:36:04.59 They're needed in the mission field, 00:36:04.63\00:36:05.96 they're needed here. 00:36:05.99\00:36:07.33 And many young people's lives have been blessed. 00:36:07.36\00:36:10.57 Thank you very much, Steve, for that very exciting report. 00:36:10.60\00:36:13.67 Appreciate it very much. 00:36:13.70\00:36:17.67 Thank you so much for that interview, 00:36:17.71\00:36:19.47 Debbie and Pastor Steve, 00:36:19.51\00:36:20.84 we're grateful for Harbert Hills 00:36:20.88\00:36:22.34 and their ministry. 00:36:22.38\00:36:23.95 We're going next to a ministry 00:36:23.98\00:36:25.31 that's near and dear to our hearts. 00:36:25.35\00:36:27.42 This is Lineage. 00:36:27.45\00:36:28.85 Now we actually air Lineage... 00:36:28.88\00:36:30.22 We do on 3ABN. 00:36:30.25\00:36:31.59 On 3ABN, 00:36:31.62\00:36:32.95 the executive director and host of Lineage is Adam Ramdin. 00:36:32.99\00:36:36.83 And we went to school with him. 00:36:36.86\00:36:38.19 We did. Yes, that's right. 00:36:38.23\00:36:39.56 We've been talking about age, 00:36:39.59\00:36:40.93 it seems like this entire time, and... 00:36:40.96\00:36:42.30 I'm not sure why. 00:36:42.33\00:36:43.67 Okay, we won't talk about 00:36:43.70\00:36:45.03 when we went to school together. 00:36:45.07\00:36:46.40 There's been a number of years ago, 00:36:46.43\00:36:47.77 but God has placed this ministry on His heart. 00:36:47.80\00:36:51.21 And what an incredible job, of course, that He is doing, 00:36:51.24\00:36:53.31 again, going back to history. 00:36:53.34\00:36:54.91 And like Tony Moore in the footsteps of Paul, 00:36:54.94\00:36:57.05 Lineage does a great job along the same lines. 00:36:57.08\00:36:58.88 They do. 00:36:58.91\00:37:00.25 They really make history modern, 00:37:00.28\00:37:02.65 relevant and beautiful for us today. 00:37:02.68\00:37:05.75 They film on location, 00:37:05.79\00:37:07.92 they're just launching into Season 3, But Season III is it based 00:37:17.90\00:37:19.80 entirely on the Conflict of the Ages series. 00:37:19.83\00:37:23.20 They're going to make a couple of seasons 00:37:23.24\00:37:24.61 on the Old Testament 00:37:24.64\00:37:25.97 and a season on the New Testament, 00:37:26.01\00:37:28.38 traveling to many different countries. 00:37:28.41\00:37:30.08 And I'm excited because it's on location. 00:37:30.11\00:37:32.55 It's relevant, it's biblical, and it's engaging, 00:37:32.58\00:37:36.38 especially for younger generations. 00:37:36.42\00:37:39.05 And I'm excited about this project. 00:37:39.09\00:37:40.86 You know, like this, here, we have it written down here. 00:37:40.89\00:37:42.56 It says Lineage is not only about video, 00:37:42.59\00:37:45.29 but Lineage is about creating resources 00:37:45.33\00:37:47.40 that makes history modern, beautiful and relevant. 00:37:47.43\00:37:49.96 And it's basically talking 00:37:50.00\00:37:51.33 about how God has led His people in the past, 00:37:51.37\00:37:53.13 but actually how He's relevant now 00:37:53.17\00:37:54.87 and is there to lead each one of us. 00:37:54.90\00:37:57.21 So Debbie Young had the opportunity 00:37:57.24\00:37:58.57 of sitting down with Clive Coutet. 00:37:58.61\00:38:00.68 He's the media director for Lineage 00:38:00.71\00:38:03.18 and let's go to that roll in interview right now. 00:38:03.21\00:38:05.51 Wow, that video had such tremendous scenery. 00:39:25.79\00:39:29.80 Adam Ramdin and Clive Coutet, 00:39:29.83\00:39:32.17 we're so glad that you're here with us 00:39:32.20\00:39:33.77 to tell us about Lineage. 00:39:33.80\00:39:35.44 So Clive, let me talk with you, 00:39:35.47\00:39:37.04 as the media director 00:39:37.07\00:39:38.57 share with us what Lineage is all about? 00:39:38.61\00:39:42.31 So in 2016, we really saw a gap 00:39:42.34\00:39:45.81 where I was looking through the great controversy, 00:39:45.85\00:39:48.65 we really couldn't see 00:39:48.68\00:39:50.02 some relevant good resources online 00:39:50.05\00:39:52.12 that would help young people understand 00:39:52.15\00:39:54.26 and some of these locations based out in Europe. 00:39:54.29\00:39:56.59 So we decided to create some videos, 00:39:56.62\00:39:57.96 we created 40 episodes on the Reformation. 00:39:57.99\00:40:01.36 And then after that 00:40:01.40\00:40:02.73 we ended up doing 52 episodes on Adventist history. 00:40:02.76\00:40:07.74 And we decided to just create a resource 00:40:07.77\00:40:09.97 that could really help young people understand, 00:40:10.01\00:40:12.24 you know, history in the language of today. 00:40:12.27\00:40:14.58 So, Adam, as the host 00:40:14.61\00:40:16.98 and executive director of Lineage, 00:40:17.01\00:40:19.01 tell us what's in the future? 00:40:19.05\00:40:20.48 What's the current project? 00:40:20.52\00:40:22.62 The current project is often called Season III, 00:40:22.65\00:40:25.65 but season III 00:40:25.69\00:40:27.02 is actually broken into four parts. 00:40:27.06\00:40:28.92 What we're doing in Season III, 00:40:28.96\00:40:31.59 is following the series of books, 00:40:31.63\00:40:34.23 The Conflict of the Ages, if anyone's familiar with them, 00:40:34.26\00:40:37.00 or would really just following the Bible. 00:40:37.03\00:40:39.23 We're doing two series on the Old Testament, 00:40:39.27\00:40:41.94 and two series on the New Testament 00:40:41.97\00:40:44.74 traveling to Egypt, Jordan, 00:40:44.77\00:40:46.94 Israel, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Malta, 00:40:46.98\00:40:51.75 and some of these countries in the Middle East 00:40:51.78\00:40:53.65 that are rich in biblical history. 00:40:53.68\00:40:55.72 And we want to bring the Bible story to life. 00:40:55.75\00:40:58.32 It's not an archaeological series. 00:40:58.35\00:41:00.62 But we're going to be following 00:41:00.66\00:41:01.99 the narrative of the story of God's people 00:41:02.02\00:41:05.26 through the Bible, 00:41:05.29\00:41:06.63 and how God led His people 00:41:06.66\00:41:08.23 and the relevance of those lessons for us today. 00:41:08.26\00:41:10.93 Now, Clive, I know 00:41:10.97\00:41:12.30 that Lineage is not just about video, 00:41:12.33\00:41:14.04 tell us what other things are in development? 00:41:14.07\00:41:17.87 So we're about creating resources 00:41:17.91\00:41:20.21 that kind of bring, 00:41:20.24\00:41:21.58 make history modern, make history beautiful, 00:41:21.61\00:41:23.71 and make history relevant to us today. 00:41:23.75\00:41:25.85 So we've created a coloring book, 00:41:25.88\00:41:27.65 we presented this last year, but it wasn't quite ready. 00:41:27.68\00:41:30.39 But, you know, in the last year, 00:41:30.42\00:41:31.75 we've managed to sell about 1,000 copies, 00:41:31.79\00:41:34.39 assist 16 custom 00:41:34.42\00:41:36.46 drawn Reformation illustrations, 00:41:36.49\00:41:38.33 and QR codes that go straight to our website, 00:41:38.36\00:41:40.66 which tells you more information 00:41:40.70\00:41:42.03 about the characters, 00:41:42.06\00:41:43.40 plays videos about the characters 00:41:43.43\00:41:44.77 and has lots of images about characters as well. 00:41:44.80\00:41:47.44 So they have been done really, really well. 00:41:47.47\00:41:49.77 And kids have really enjoyed doing those illustrations 00:41:49.80\00:41:52.94 and coloring those in. 00:41:52.97\00:41:54.31 And we also have some new study guides 00:41:54.34\00:41:56.41 that we're just about to launch, 00:41:56.44\00:41:58.11 we'll actually launch today 48 study guides 00:41:58.15\00:42:00.95 on basically the great controversy 00:42:00.98\00:42:02.62 in more detail with interactive maps, 00:42:02.65\00:42:05.15 videos, images, and discussion questions 00:42:05.19\00:42:07.26 for people who are doing Bible studies. 00:42:07.29\00:42:09.06 So these actually all available on Apple bookstore, 00:42:09.09\00:42:12.89 whether you have a Mac, iPad, or iPhone, 00:42:12.93\00:42:15.16 and hopefully somewhere down the line, 00:42:15.20\00:42:16.53 we'll be able to get on Android too. 00:42:16.56\00:42:19.03 Wow, it sounds like you have everything. 00:42:19.07\00:42:21.10 You've got the whole spectrum of ages covered. 00:42:21.14\00:42:24.81 Tell us what kind of testimonies 00:42:24.84\00:42:26.64 or responses that you've had, Adam? 00:42:26.68\00:42:28.21 We've had some very interesting ones. 00:42:31.21\00:42:33.92 I don't know if Clive shared, 00:42:33.95\00:42:35.28 he may have shared some of these last year. 00:42:35.32\00:42:37.02 The videos are viewed in a lot of churches, 00:42:37.05\00:42:39.92 they're viewed in a lot of schools. 00:42:39.95\00:42:43.06 But they also find their ways into places 00:42:43.09\00:42:45.39 that we don't imagine. 00:42:45.43\00:42:46.76 I was just in the town of Leicester 00:42:46.80\00:42:48.40 that's not too far 00:42:48.43\00:42:49.76 from where I live here in England 00:42:49.80\00:42:51.13 and some 12-year old girl came up to me and was like, 00:42:51.17\00:42:53.60 Oh, yeah, we watch your videos 00:42:53.64\00:42:55.40 in our religious class at school today. 00:42:55.44\00:42:57.81 Not an Adventist school, not a Christian school, 00:42:57.84\00:43:00.54 just a normal state public school. 00:43:00.58\00:43:02.91 And it just blows our mind 00:43:02.94\00:43:04.28 that teachers are looking for stuff online, 00:43:04.31\00:43:06.72 and they bump into Lineage 00:43:06.75\00:43:08.08 and they use it in their classes. 00:43:08.12\00:43:09.82 That's, you know, we hear 00:43:09.85\00:43:11.85 that relatively frequently of people 00:43:11.89\00:43:13.92 who are using these resources in places we wouldn't know. 00:43:13.96\00:43:17.03 Just last week, I had a friend of mine 00:43:17.06\00:43:19.49 who messaged me and said, 00:43:19.53\00:43:20.90 "I've got a Mormon friend, 00:43:20.93\00:43:22.90 you know, Latter Day Saints, and she sent me a screenshot, 00:43:22.93\00:43:26.00 she's sharing your Lineage videos 00:43:26.03\00:43:27.70 on her Facebook page, " 00:43:27.74\00:43:29.10 and that always encouraged us. 00:43:29.14\00:43:30.71 You know, we know our people in our faith community 00:43:30.74\00:43:33.24 share the videos. 00:43:33.27\00:43:34.61 When we see people outside of our faith, 00:43:34.64\00:43:37.11 who are going to Lineage of the resource. 00:43:37.15\00:43:39.28 And there's another story that we were told 00:43:39.31\00:43:40.95 by one of our team members who went to train, 00:43:40.98\00:43:43.82 a Bible training school several years ago 00:43:43.85\00:43:45.85 with someone else. 00:43:45.89\00:43:47.22 After they graduate 00:43:47.26\00:43:48.59 from their Bible training school, 00:43:48.62\00:43:49.96 that friend fell off the map, when I say that, 00:43:49.99\00:43:51.33 I mean fell off the map spiritually, 00:43:51.36\00:43:53.13 and they got a job on some desert island. 00:43:53.16\00:43:55.76 But then Corona hit, 00:43:55.80\00:43:57.27 and they were stuck on this desert island 00:43:57.30\00:43:59.07 with his dream job that didn't happen 00:43:59.10\00:44:01.74 and had nothing to do. 00:44:01.77\00:44:03.10 They binge watched Lineage Season I, 00:44:03.14\00:44:05.17 they binge watched Lineage Season II, 00:44:05.21\00:44:08.04 and essentially brought them back to God 00:44:08.08\00:44:10.35 after eight years in the spiritual wilderness 00:44:10.38\00:44:13.42 that they then came back to God after watching Lineage, 00:44:13.45\00:44:15.55 had nothing to do but to watch things online. 00:44:15.58\00:44:17.19 They found Lineage and it brought them back to God 00:44:17.22\00:44:19.32 and stories like that always encourage us. 00:44:19.35\00:44:22.06 Oh, that's wonderful. 00:44:22.09\00:44:23.43 We're praying 00:44:23.46\00:44:24.79 that God blesses with the offerings, 00:44:24.83\00:44:26.53 so that Lineage can continue doing the work that it's doing, 00:44:26.56\00:44:29.66 reaching people and having the impact 00:44:29.70\00:44:31.97 that it needs to have for the gospel of Jesus Christ. 00:44:32.00\00:44:34.87 Thank you very much, gentlemen, for joining us. 00:44:34.90\00:44:38.51 Thank you. 00:44:38.54\00:44:41.31 Thank you so much, Debbie, and Clive, and Adam, 00:44:41.34\00:44:44.05 excited about what God is doing in and through Lineage 00:44:44.08\00:44:47.72 and looking forward to those new season, 00:44:47.75\00:44:51.72 the new season coming out 00:44:51.75\00:44:53.09 and the Conflict of the Ages series. 00:44:53.12\00:44:54.69 So it'd be exciting. 00:44:54.72\00:44:56.06 You know, of course 3ABN we can appreciate production 00:44:56.09\00:44:59.29 and what it takes to pull something off, 00:44:59.33\00:45:01.03 such as what Lineage is doing, it's incredible. 00:45:01.06\00:45:03.03 You know, to go there and the amount of research, 00:45:03.06\00:45:05.13 I had the opportunity of talking to Adam Ramdin, 00:45:05.17\00:45:07.90 I think is it GYC, actually, so a few months back, 00:45:07.94\00:45:10.34 and he was just talking 00:45:10.37\00:45:11.71 about the tremendous amount of research 00:45:11.74\00:45:13.07 that he puts in, and you know, 00:45:13.11\00:45:14.44 and you have to appreciate that. 00:45:14.48\00:45:15.81 It's not just like, okay, let's just do this. 00:45:15.84\00:45:17.18 No, they put a lot of time and effort, 00:45:17.21\00:45:18.81 a lot of historical resources, 00:45:18.85\00:45:20.62 of course, the Bible 00:45:20.65\00:45:21.98 and the writings of Ellen White, 00:45:22.02\00:45:23.35 and it's just fantastic what they put together. 00:45:23.39\00:45:24.72 It is indeed. 00:45:24.75\00:45:26.09 And we have one more interview this hour for you. 00:45:26.12\00:45:29.36 And this is Julie O'Carey sat down with Erwin Nanasi, 00:45:29.39\00:45:34.40 I'm not sure I'm pronouncing his last name right. 00:45:34.43\00:45:36.83 But he is an incredible musician. 00:45:36.87\00:45:39.00 He is, of course, 00:45:39.03\00:45:40.74 works at Weimar as minister of music, 00:45:40.77\00:45:42.30 but this new project is not associated with Weimar. 00:45:42.34\00:45:44.34 It's a project 00:45:44.37\00:45:45.71 that he's doing in collaboration 00:45:45.74\00:45:47.08 with some other people. 00:45:47.11\00:45:48.44 And it is a music project, which I'm delighted about. 00:45:48.48\00:45:52.61 They're creating an app, a hymnal app for worship music, 00:45:52.65\00:45:57.99 and it will have three different focuses, 00:45:58.02\00:46:00.16 three different pieces, it will have the accompaniment, 00:46:00.19\00:46:03.02 that of course, any musician, pianist, organist would need. 00:46:03.06\00:46:06.43 It would have a lead sheet for the singers, 00:46:06.46\00:46:08.56 and it will have the stories behind the hymn. 00:46:08.60\00:46:11.23 So I'm excited about this new project 00:46:11.27\00:46:14.10 and to think it'll be available on your phone, isn't it? 00:46:14.14\00:46:16.44 Yeah, I mean, that's amazing 00:46:16.47\00:46:17.81 because when they're talking app, 00:46:17.84\00:46:19.17 it's a phone app. 00:46:19.21\00:46:20.54 And what's really nice, I can see schools, 00:46:20.58\00:46:22.91 churches, small groups, using a resource like this. 00:46:22.94\00:46:27.65 And, of course, we believe strongly that music, 00:46:27.68\00:46:30.02 of course, is a part of worship, 00:46:30.05\00:46:31.62 and what an incredible app. 00:46:31.65\00:46:33.82 So let's go to that exciting video roll right now. 00:46:33.86\00:46:38.66 Hi, everyone, 00:46:38.69\00:46:40.03 thank you so much for playing my favorite song, 00:46:40.06\00:46:43.13 that was beautiful. 00:46:43.16\00:46:44.83 You know, when I, when I describe your music, 00:46:44.87\00:46:47.84 I would just say it's joyful. 00:46:47.87\00:46:50.24 You're a gifted musician, just amazing musician. 00:46:50.27\00:46:54.44 So tell us a little bit about the Know Him project. 00:46:54.48\00:46:58.38 Well, the Know Him project 00:46:58.41\00:46:59.75 is a project that is to bring worshipful music 00:46:59.78\00:47:03.08 and high quality to congregations, 00:47:03.12\00:47:05.22 especially hymn accompaniments. 00:47:05.25\00:47:07.69 Praise is so important, 00:47:07.72\00:47:09.06 and what better way to do that than with hymns 00:47:09.09\00:47:11.16 that can be sung worldwide. 00:47:11.19\00:47:13.13 And so as churches have requested it, 00:47:13.16\00:47:15.10 as individuals have requested, as families, we thought, 00:47:15.13\00:47:18.97 it is time, 00:47:19.00\00:47:20.34 it is time to make something like this available. 00:47:20.37\00:47:22.54 You know, I know it's a real big need, 00:47:22.57\00:47:24.64 I traveled to a lot of churches to speak for ASAP. 00:47:24.67\00:47:28.08 And when they don't have a musician, 00:47:28.11\00:47:29.71 it affects the whole worship experience. 00:47:29.74\00:47:32.88 And so I'm excited about this. 00:47:32.91\00:47:34.75 So what got you interested in this project, Erwin? 00:47:34.78\00:47:38.49 See, several years ago, two friends of mine, 00:47:38.52\00:47:40.52 Joel Nedley and Romero Quero, 00:47:40.56\00:47:42.02 they had been telling me 00:47:42.06\00:47:43.39 that there's a demand for churches 00:47:43.43\00:47:44.79 to have music 00:47:44.83\00:47:46.16 and I said, you know, we can just visit them. 00:47:46.19\00:47:49.06 And when we would visit the churches, 00:47:49.10\00:47:50.77 they would say, well, how can we listen 00:47:50.80\00:47:52.13 to more of this music when you're not with us? 00:47:52.17\00:47:54.24 I said, "Well, what can be done." 00:47:54.27\00:47:56.07 And so, throughout the time, 00:47:56.10\00:47:58.17 also working at Weimar Institute, 00:47:58.21\00:47:59.64 I serve as minister of music here. 00:47:59.67\00:48:01.98 We have patients that come, we have students that are here, 00:48:02.01\00:48:05.25 church members and community members 00:48:05.28\00:48:06.61 all around the world 00:48:06.65\00:48:07.98 that have been encouraging us to provide something like this. 00:48:08.02\00:48:11.32 And we want to respond 00:48:11.35\00:48:12.85 to what we have been asked to do. 00:48:12.89\00:48:14.82 And so, this is the time to now put it out 00:48:14.86\00:48:17.03 so that people can listen to hymns anywhere at any time. 00:48:17.06\00:48:21.16 I love how a young person like you 00:48:21.20\00:48:24.03 would be passionate about hymns. 00:48:24.07\00:48:26.63 That's so cool. 00:48:26.67\00:48:28.44 Yeah, it wasn't always like this. 00:48:28.47\00:48:29.97 When I was young, 00:48:30.01\00:48:31.34 I didn't understand the hymns completely, 00:48:31.37\00:48:32.94 I didn't understand the function that they had. 00:48:32.97\00:48:35.04 Let's see the Bible talks about psalms, 00:48:35.08\00:48:36.88 hymns and spiritual songs. 00:48:36.91\00:48:38.45 And so hymns have this particular function 00:48:38.48\00:48:40.52 of sharing more about Christ. 00:48:40.55\00:48:42.58 And so, in my research 00:48:42.62\00:48:43.95 that I was able to conduct also case study, 00:48:43.99\00:48:46.35 and congregational hymn singing, 00:48:46.39\00:48:47.99 we noticed that people enjoy the hymns 00:48:48.02\00:48:50.09 once they understand them more fully. 00:48:50.13\00:48:52.09 And so for me, as a young person, 00:48:52.13\00:48:53.76 I enjoyed them, 00:48:53.80\00:48:55.13 not in the least because of the music now, 00:48:55.16\00:48:57.17 but also because of the stories behind them. 00:48:57.20\00:48:58.87 Once you know 00:48:58.90\00:49:00.24 what the writer has gone through, 00:49:00.27\00:49:01.60 and why they wrote something, 00:49:01.64\00:49:02.97 oh, you can say, I can relate to that, 00:49:03.00\00:49:05.71 or there's a song about that. 00:49:05.74\00:49:07.14 That's amazing. 00:49:07.18\00:49:08.51 And before you know it, 00:49:08.54\00:49:09.88 you may even start writing your own songs 00:49:09.91\00:49:11.25 and sharing them with others. 00:49:11.28\00:49:12.75 That's great. 00:49:12.78\00:49:14.12 So what would this look like, this project? 00:49:14.15\00:49:18.55 So we are thinking of an app, 00:49:18.59\00:49:21.66 an app that can be made available 00:49:21.69\00:49:23.56 to anyone in the world 00:49:23.59\00:49:24.93 so that you can easily access the songs that you so like, 00:49:24.96\00:49:28.36 and it will have at least three components. 00:49:28.40\00:49:30.47 One of them will be hymn accompaniments 00:49:30.50\00:49:32.53 that are inspiring 00:49:32.57\00:49:33.90 that you will sing your heart out, 00:49:33.94\00:49:35.54 not just background music, 00:49:35.57\00:49:36.94 but actually singing with your heart 00:49:36.97\00:49:38.74 as if we're in a congregation or a convention 00:49:38.77\00:49:40.64 or conference like an ASI. 00:49:40.68\00:49:42.44 The second thing is that, 00:49:42.48\00:49:43.81 we know that some of the songs 00:49:43.85\00:49:45.18 may be written too low or too high. 00:49:45.21\00:49:47.05 And so we want to put them on a lead sheet 00:49:47.08\00:49:49.25 that has a key 00:49:49.28\00:49:50.62 that is more friendly to the singers, 00:49:50.65\00:49:52.75 and perhaps also some harmonization 00:49:52.79\00:49:54.86 that may be more fresh 00:49:54.89\00:49:56.22 for those that are interested in that. 00:49:56.26\00:49:57.59 The third one 00:49:57.63\00:49:58.96 is that we want to include the stories. 00:49:58.99\00:50:00.76 So as you are selecting one of the songs, 00:50:00.80\00:50:03.16 you can also reflect on the stories and say, 00:50:03.20\00:50:05.27 oh, wow, this is what is behind it. 00:50:05.30\00:50:07.34 Now, if there's a more time that we have, 00:50:07.37\00:50:10.84 we are going to include other items as well. 00:50:10.87\00:50:13.74 But this will be the better version 00:50:13.78\00:50:15.11 that we want to make available as soon as possible, 00:50:15.14\00:50:17.61 hopefully by December. 00:50:17.65\00:50:19.88 Wow, that sounds wonderful. 00:50:19.91\00:50:22.02 I can't wait for this to come out. 00:50:22.05\00:50:24.42 So I know this has taken a lot of work, 00:50:24.45\00:50:29.12 and it will take you all a lot of work. 00:50:29.16\00:50:32.29 But is, are you doing this on your own or is there a team? 00:50:32.33\00:50:37.53 I know you work at Weimar as the minister of music. 00:50:37.57\00:50:41.14 Can you tell us a little bit about that? 00:50:41.17\00:50:43.54 Yeah, I wouldn't be able to do this by myself. 00:50:43.57\00:50:46.04 In fact, I didn't come up with this idea to begin with. 00:50:46.07\00:50:48.71 I said, "This is an enormous project." 00:50:48.74\00:50:51.55 We are thinking of recording all the hymns at some point. 00:50:51.58\00:50:54.38 And not just in English, 00:50:54.42\00:50:55.75 but also perhaps some hymns that are available 00:50:55.78\00:50:58.59 only say in German or in Spanish, 00:50:58.62\00:51:00.99 and record those as well. 00:51:01.02\00:51:02.69 So while I'm going to be playing 00:51:02.72\00:51:04.06 the piano, 00:51:04.09\00:51:05.43 there will be others involved in the recordings 00:51:05.46\00:51:07.00 in the editing, 00:51:07.03\00:51:08.36 in the note setting 00:51:08.40\00:51:10.07 and then also in the app development. 00:51:10.10\00:51:12.77 It was such providence, that about two weeks ago, 00:51:12.80\00:51:15.54 we had 00:51:15.57\00:51:16.91 a good Seventh-day Adventist web developer 00:51:16.94\00:51:18.84 and software designer contact me and said, 00:51:18.87\00:51:20.74 "Erwin, I don't know much about music, 00:51:20.78\00:51:22.84 but I appreciate it. 00:51:22.88\00:51:24.21 And you have what we need. 00:51:24.25\00:51:26.48 And I think we have what you need, 00:51:26.51\00:51:28.38 and that is app development." 00:51:28.42\00:51:29.95 I said, "This is just a connection 00:51:29.98\00:51:32.55 made in heaven." 00:51:32.59\00:51:33.92 And so with that, we can make it available 00:51:33.96\00:51:35.92 and we are so excited about this, 00:51:35.96\00:51:38.19 because the praise of... 00:51:38.23\00:51:39.93 Praising God is so essential to our work on this earth. 00:51:39.96\00:51:44.00 In fact, that's what we will do in all of heaven. 00:51:44.03\00:51:46.10 And so, we want to inspire others to join that praise now. 00:51:46.13\00:51:50.57 You know, I want to know 00:51:50.61\00:51:52.84 how I can be notified when this app is out 00:51:52.87\00:51:55.98 because I want it 00:51:56.01\00:51:57.35 and I want it for all the churches 00:51:57.38\00:51:59.01 that I work with in Southeast Asia. 00:51:59.05\00:52:01.42 So how can I know when this is going to be done? 00:52:01.45\00:52:06.59 That's a good question. 00:52:06.62\00:52:07.96 I think the best way to do 00:52:07.99\00:52:09.39 is that you are going on our website, 00:52:09.42\00:52:12.29 SacredSoundFoundation.org. 00:52:12.33\00:52:15.36 And on our website, 00:52:15.40\00:52:16.73 you'll have the ability to write us a little note. 00:52:16.77\00:52:19.30 And the reason we have that note in there 00:52:19.33\00:52:20.84 is so that you can mention your favorite hymn, 00:52:20.87\00:52:23.00 just like you mentioned to me as water to the thirsty 00:52:23.04\00:52:25.37 and we were happy to record that song for you. 00:52:25.41\00:52:28.38 We're happy to record other hymns as well. 00:52:28.41\00:52:30.15 So if you have a favorite that your church really enjoys, 00:52:30.18\00:52:33.31 then put those in there 00:52:33.35\00:52:34.68 and they may be 00:52:34.72\00:52:36.05 one of the first ones that we're recording. 00:52:36.08\00:52:37.52 And so, if you send us an email, 00:52:37.55\00:52:38.89 you'll be notified on all the updates 00:52:38.92\00:52:40.56 that are coming on this project. 00:52:40.59\00:52:42.46 Okay, thank you so much, Erwin. 00:52:42.49\00:52:44.79 And I want to say congratulations on your baby. 00:52:44.83\00:52:48.30 Avi Jubilee. 00:52:48.33\00:52:49.86 And I hear he loves music already. 00:52:49.90\00:52:52.30 So you know what we're going to do now, 00:52:52.33\00:52:54.07 we're going to just take a couple moments 00:52:54.10\00:52:56.44 to at the conclusion here to stop 00:52:56.47\00:53:00.04 and reflect on how great our Lord is, 00:53:00.08\00:53:02.41 as Erwin plays a little snippet of that. 00:53:02.44\00:53:05.55 Thank you, Erwin, God bless. Amen. 00:53:05.58\00:53:07.95 You too, God bless you. Thank you. 00:53:07.98\00:53:09.78 Amen. 00:53:20.90\00:53:23.53 I'm excited about this new music app. 00:53:23.57\00:53:25.57 I know I will want to download it 00:53:25.60\00:53:27.77 for my own phone. 00:53:27.80\00:53:29.14 Amen. 00:53:29.17\00:53:30.51 And Erwin is a great pianist, 00:53:30.54\00:53:32.51 and he just has a wonderful spirit. 00:53:32.54\00:53:34.08 He does. 00:53:34.11\00:53:35.44 I'm looking forward 00:53:35.48\00:53:36.81 to how God is going to use this. 00:53:36.85\00:53:38.18 You know, we hope 00:53:38.21\00:53:39.55 that you've enjoyed this past hour 00:53:39.58\00:53:40.92 as much as we have. 00:53:40.95\00:53:42.28 You know, think about 00:53:42.32\00:53:43.65 whatever the Lord is impressing upon your heart, 00:53:43.69\00:53:45.12 these ministries needs support, 00:53:45.15\00:53:46.62 you know, I think about all of the ways 00:53:46.65\00:53:49.32 that they're ministering to other people, 00:53:49.36\00:53:51.33 local community with through canvassing, 00:53:51.36\00:53:53.26 the academies we talked about, in the footsteps of Paul, 00:53:53.29\00:53:56.13 Tony Moore, Lineage I know I'm forgetting some, 00:53:56.16\00:53:58.60 Erwin Nanasi. 00:53:58.63\00:54:00.47 You know, they're all doing what God has called them to do. 00:54:00.50\00:54:04.31 So you're welcome to look up, of course, 00:54:04.34\00:54:06.11 their ministry name and support them, 00:54:06.14\00:54:07.94 I know that they would really appreciate it 00:54:07.98\00:54:09.31 because they're doing the work of the Lord. 00:54:09.34\00:54:10.68 Amen. 00:54:10.71\00:54:12.05 And if you don't have their address, 00:54:12.08\00:54:13.42 you can always contact us at 3ABN, 00:54:13.45\00:54:15.22 and we'd be delighted to put you in touch 00:54:15.25\00:54:17.19 with any one of these ministries 00:54:17.22\00:54:18.55 we featured today. 00:54:18.59\00:54:19.92 We're going to a news break. 00:54:19.95\00:54:21.29 We'll be right back. 00:54:21.32\00:54:22.66
