I want to spend my life 00:00:01.60\00:00:06.80 Mending broken people 00:00:07.40\00:00:12.27 I want to spend my life 00:00:12.34\00:00:17.91 Removing pain 00:00:18.65\00:00:23.18 Lord, let my words 00:00:23.82\00:00:28.76 Heal a heart that hurts 00:00:30.03\00:00:33.96 I want to spend my life 00:00:34.46\00:00:39.37 Mending broken people 00:00:40.30\00:00:44.74 I want to spend my life 00:00:45.67\00:00:50.55 Mending broken people 00:00:51.28\00:00:56.05 - Hello and welcome to a 3ABN Today program. 00:01:09.10\00:01:11.83 I'm Jill Morikone, and we're always excited 00:01:12.07\00:01:14.57 that you can spend part of your day with us. 00:01:14.67\00:01:17.11 Here on the set, I'm not sitting next to my 00:01:17.24\00:01:19.27 husband; I'm sitting next to a beautiful 00:01:19.41\00:01:21.18 woman of God, Dr. Lela Gilbert. And Lela, you 00:01:21.28\00:01:25.21 are a special friend and a woman of God 00:01:25.31\00:01:27.68 and a woman who has a passion and a purpose, 00:01:27.78\00:01:31.35 and we are so excited that you're here with 00:01:31.52\00:01:34.22 us today. - Well, thank you, Jill. It is an honor 00:01:34.36\00:01:36.39 to be with you. You are a very special 00:01:36.52\00:01:38.06 friend of mine, too- for many years actually! 00:01:38.16\00:01:40.30 So, we are so excited to be talking about Pathway 00:01:40.43\00:01:43.57 to Health. - I know. - It's just a blessing 00:01:43.67\00:01:46.23 to be a part of that organization. - Absolutely. 00:01:46.33\00:01:48.34 Now, you're not just part of that organization; 00:01:48.44\00:01:50.17 you are the president of that organization! 00:01:50.27\00:01:52.67 But tell u- the CEO of that organization. 00:01:52.77\00:01:55.24 But tell us just a snippet of what is Pathway to 00:01:55.41\00:01:59.15 Health, and then we'll introduce all of our 00:01:59.28\00:02:01.22 family. - Absolutely! So, Your Best Pathway 00:02:01.32\00:02:03.69 to Health provides free medical, dental, eye care, 00:02:03.79\00:02:06.82 and surgical services to uninsured and underinsured 00:02:06.92\00:02:09.46 populations around the United States of America. 00:02:09.56\00:02:12.43 And we have just been so blessed to be able to 00:02:12.53\00:02:15.40 provide holistic health: not just physical healing, 00:02:15.50\00:02:18.33 but physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual 00:02:18.43\00:02:21.37 healing to many, many thousands of people. 00:02:21.47\00:02:23.81 - It's really being the hands and feet of Jesus... 00:02:23.91\00:02:25.74 - Absolutely. - ...is what Pathway to Health is 00:02:25.87\00:02:27.24 all about; providing that physical health. But then 00:02:27.31\00:02:30.25 I love the holistic approach! - Exactly. 00:02:30.35\00:02:33.62 - Because it brings in the mental and the emotional 00:02:33.68\00:02:35.08 and the spiritual. - And we can't have one without 00:02:35.18\00:02:37.52 the other, as we know. - That's right. Praise the 00:02:37.65\00:02:40.16 Lord. So, let's introduce the rest of our team- 00:02:40.26\00:02:42.19 the rest of the family here. - Absolutely! - We 00:02:42.32\00:02:43.99 have Pastor Benny Moore. You are the CFO, and it's 00:02:44.09\00:02:47.00 a privilege to have you here, and you've been 00:02:47.10\00:02:48.73 to 3ABN many times before. - Many times, yes. - How 00:02:48.83\00:02:52.00 long have you been with Pathway to Health? 00:02:52.13\00:02:53.47 - Since 2015. - Wow. - I started at the event 00:02:53.54\00:02:58.54 at the Alamodome in San Antonio just prior 00:02:58.67\00:03:02.68 to the General Conference session in 2015. - I think, 00:03:02.74\00:03:05.28 Dr. Lela, that's a pretty big event to get started 00:03:05.38\00:03:07.42 at the beginning. - That was a big one, 00:03:07.52\00:03:08.85 yeah. [laughter] It was a very big one. We had 00:03:08.92\00:03:10.35 like, 6,700 patients on that one, so it was a 00:03:10.49\00:03:12.75 blessing, for sure. [Absolutely!] - And 00:03:12.85\00:03:15.59 sitting next to Pastor Benny is Mr. George Gilbert, 00:03:15.69\00:03:18.43 and you are the COO of Your Best Pathway to 00:03:18.53\00:03:21.36 Health. It's just a privilege to have you 00:03:21.43\00:03:23.37 here, as well. - Well, thank you. - And Mr. Gilbert 00:03:23.50\00:03:25.53 is also my father. - Yay! - Which I'm very proud 00:03:25.67\00:03:28.94 of my father. But without Mr. Gilbert, there would 00:03:29.00\00:03:33.04 be no event. Absolutely no event. He lays the 00:03:33.14\00:03:35.91 whole thing out. - Well, I've been with Pathway 00:03:36.04\00:03:39.85 since it began in San Francisco and in Oakland, 00:03:39.95\00:03:43.59 and it's really been a real blessing, and I 00:03:43.69\00:03:46.12 feel it's a God-given responsibility that He's 00:03:46.22\00:03:50.33 given to me on that job. - Yes, absolutely. And 00:03:50.43\00:03:54.76 what year was that? The first one? - That was in 00:03:54.83\00:03:56.30 2014, but we began planning for it in 2013. 00:03:56.43\00:04:00.27 So, it's been a little while. - This is one of those 00:04:00.40\00:04:03.87 growths of an organization that is just astronomical 00:04:03.97\00:04:07.44 to beat. - Absolutely. - I mean, it's a vision and 00:04:07.54\00:04:09.61 a dream, and then to watch it grow and what God does! 00:04:09.71\00:04:12.41 - Every single event, new things develop, 00:04:12.55\00:04:15.08 new departments develop, and God just teaches 00:04:15.18\00:04:17.62 us as we go along, for sure. - Amen. And sitting 00:04:17.75\00:04:20.22 next to Mr. Gilbert is Vinette Dye, and you 00:04:20.36\00:04:23.39 are the dental manager. Is that right? - I am the 00:04:23.53\00:04:26.23 clinic manager for the dental department. - Okay! 00:04:26.36\00:04:29.13 So, does that mean you're a dentist? - Nope! It means 00:04:29.26\00:04:31.80 I am the person that handles the logistics 00:04:31.87\00:04:34.47 of running the dental department. The dental 00:04:34.54\00:04:37.87 director is actually Dr. Carlos Moretta. There 00:04:37.94\00:04:40.51 are many things that happen in the dental 00:04:40.58\00:04:45.01 department that I came on board at the Beckley? 00:04:45.08\00:04:49.02 event. - Ooh! That was more recent! - Yes! 00:04:49.08\00:04:52.69 Actually, three events ago. So, Beckley, and 00:04:52.79\00:04:55.32 then Texas, and... - Phoenix! - Phoenix! 00:04:55.42\00:05:01.40 And then now we're planning for the next 00:05:01.50\00:05:04.20 event. - Amen! Absolutely. - And I could just add one 00:05:04.30\00:05:07.57 little thing here. - Please! - Vinette is much more 00:05:07.64\00:05:09.40 than the dental clinic manager. She is a 00:05:09.50\00:05:12.14 very, very dear friend of mine, and I'm on the 00:05:12.24\00:05:14.21 phone with her constantly. "Vinette, what are we 00:05:14.31\00:05:15.94 gonna do about this aspect of Pathway or 00:05:16.04\00:05:17.88 this aspect to Pathway?" So, she's being very humble 00:05:17.98\00:05:20.58 when she says she's the dental clinic manager. 00:05:20.68\00:05:22.85 [laughter] - Well, praise the Lord for the gifts 00:05:22.95\00:05:26.29 that God's given to each one of you here! 00:05:26.42\00:05:28.22 I mean, it's just incredible- and that you're using 00:05:28.32\00:05:30.29 them. That's the most important thing. - Amen. 00:05:30.43\00:05:32.69 - You can be blessed with a gift, and either 00:05:32.83\00:05:34.26 bury it or use it for self...but you all are 00:05:34.36\00:05:38.00 using it for God and for other people. So, what 00:05:38.10\00:05:40.70 a tremendous gift and blessing. So, I know 3ABN- 00:05:40.84\00:05:44.74 we'll get to you, Pastor Kyle-but 3ABN loves 00:05:44.87\00:05:46.81 the ministry of Your Best Pathway to Health. 00:05:46.94\00:05:49.74 We had the privilege to do some broadcasting 00:05:49.84\00:05:51.75 of the San Antonio event in 2015. - 2015! - And 00:05:51.88\00:05:56.69 we're looking forward to in the future collaborating 00:05:56.79\00:06:00.32 together again. - Absolutely. - And Pastor Kyle Allen, 00:06:00.39\00:06:03.19 last but not least, is... Your title here is 00:06:03.29\00:06:07.13 Spiritual Advisor for Your Best Pathway to 00:06:07.26\00:06:09.80 Health, but I would say you do many things within 00:06:09.86\00:06:13.10 the organization. - Well, it's been a blessing to 00:06:13.20\00:06:15.60 be involved in this ministry. Since the beginning, actually, 00:06:15.70\00:06:18.31 since 2014... - Yes! The three of us is Pastor 00:06:18.41\00:06:21.78 Kyle and Mr. Gilbert and myself since 2013. 00:06:21.84\00:06:24.71 - At that time, I was a pastor in Mentone, 00:06:24.81\00:06:27.12 California near Loma Linda, and we brought our church 00:06:27.22\00:06:30.35 members to the first event in San Francisco 00:06:30.45\00:06:32.22 in Oakland. I saw the impact it made on my 00:06:32.32\00:06:35.22 church members to come and to serve others, 00:06:35.32\00:06:38.53 and it really impressed me how much it impacted 00:06:38.66\00:06:42.36 them. And then of course, you saw the impact on the 00:06:42.43\00:06:44.93 patients, too, and just how it brought everybody 00:06:45.00\00:06:47.04 together for that one mission of doing what 00:06:47.14\00:06:49.44 God has called us to do. And so that, from the 00:06:49.50\00:06:52.37 beginning, I was like, "I've gotta stay involved 00:06:52.47\00:06:54.24 in this because this is what Jesus wants 00:06:54.34\00:06:56.08 us to do as an Adventist Church." - Amen. - Amen. 00:06:56.18\00:06:59.15 - And Pastor Kyle has been with us through 00:06:59.28\00:07:01.45 everything. In fact, now, Pastor Kyle is 00:07:01.55\00:07:03.55 essentially in charge of managing the line 00:07:03.65\00:07:05.69 outside. So, when he's not there, that's why 00:07:05.79\00:07:08.79 I say the spiritual advisor for Your Best 00:07:08.89\00:07:10.73 Pathway to Health, it's one of the most complicated 00:07:10.83\00:07:12.83 aspects of the event, because there comes 00:07:12.93\00:07:14.53 a point where we can only serve a certain 00:07:14.60\00:07:16.87 number of patients. And unfortunately, there are 00:07:16.97\00:07:19.27 still more that need to be served. We want to 00:07:19.37\00:07:21.07 be able to minister to them any way that we 00:07:21.17\00:07:23.04 still can and not lose them and connecting 00:07:23.14\00:07:25.47 them with Jesus. And so, Pastor Kyle runs 00:07:25.57\00:07:27.84 a whole team that helps to deliver that information 00:07:27.94\00:07:30.91 to the patients. - Well we have an incredible 00:07:31.01\00:07:33.15 team- there are so many departments (which I'm 00:07:33.28\00:07:34.92 sure we'll talk about), but one of them is the 00:07:35.02\00:07:36.48 chaplaincy department. Our chaplains are- Rich, 00:07:36.55\00:07:39.72 of course, is our chaplain director. But they minister 00:07:39.82\00:07:42.16 to the people's spiritual needs, and so they also 00:07:42.26\00:07:44.59 come out and help at the line and just help 00:07:44.69\00:07:46.46 connect the people with God, pray with them, help 00:07:46.59\00:07:50.80 them to feel loved... even from the moment 00:07:50.97\00:07:52.63 they stand in line, we want the people to feel 00:07:52.70\00:07:54.37 the love of Jesus-even before they come into 00:07:54.50\00:07:56.34 the building! But yeah. When you have to tell 00:07:56.47\00:07:58.77 people that there may not be enough help for 00:07:58.87\00:08:02.21 everybody, then that's a tough thing. But we 00:08:02.31\00:08:04.35 try to still help them to feel the love of God 00:08:04.48\00:08:05.85 even in that time. - I would think the line 00:08:05.95\00:08:07.78 is difficult. You know, you brought up a really 00:08:07.88\00:08:09.58 good point, because for two reasons: #1) what 00:08:09.72\00:08:13.05 if everyone can't be served? And so people 00:08:13.12\00:08:14.72 would be upset because they'd been trying to 00:08:14.82\00:08:16.96 get in, so I would think that would be a challenge. 00:08:17.06\00:08:19.66 - It is a challenge. And-you know-I'll 00:08:19.76\00:08:21.60 just share this really quick, brief experience. There was 00:08:21.70\00:08:23.37 one time when I was in San Antonio when we 00:08:23.47\00:08:25.93 had to cut the line and the people knew 00:08:26.00\00:08:28.40 where we were cutting the line, they could see... 00:08:28.54\00:08:30.84 When we cut it, the people that were on 00:08:30.91\00:08:33.61 the side that didn't get in, they were clearly 00:08:33.71\00:08:37.51 upset, and some of them were shouting and angry... 00:08:37.61\00:08:39.68 One of the guys was crying. And literally, 00:08:40.88\00:08:45.22 someone who had made the cut on the other side 00:08:45.32\00:08:47.82 of the divide gave up their spot so that the person 00:08:47.92\00:08:50.96 who was crying could actually go see the 00:08:51.06\00:08:52.59 dentist. - Ooh... - I'll never forget that, 00:08:52.69\00:08:54.56 because that really showed God's love. - Yes! - This was 00:08:54.63\00:08:58.37 just from a patient who was waiting in line. 00:08:58.43\00:08:59.80 They gave up their spot for that person to go see 00:08:59.90\00:09:01.94 the doctor. I just...I'll never forget that. But 00:09:02.04\00:09:04.81 it's a tough thing. We wish we could help 00:09:04.91\00:09:06.57 everybody. - Well, there's a lot of ways 00:09:06.68\00:09:09.41 that everyone can be helped. At least more 00:09:09.51\00:09:11.38 people can be helped, so you're gonna want 00:09:11.48\00:09:13.01 to stay tuned 'cause you are needed, for 00:09:13.11\00:09:15.42 sure. - Amen. So, let's go back before we 00:09:15.52\00:09:17.85 talk about the upcoming event, let's go back, 00:09:17.95\00:09:20.22 Dr. Lela, to tell us how did Your Best Pathway 00:09:20.32\00:09:22.56 to Health, how did it come about? - Well, 00:09:22.62\00:09:24.46 you already asked the question, "When did it 00:09:24.56\00:09:26.43 start?" It was 2013. I was the brand-newly 00:09:26.53\00:09:29.23 elected president of Pacific Union ASI, which 00:09:29.33\00:09:32.57 is a wonderful organization that I believe strongly, 00:09:32.67\00:09:35.10 and I know 3ABN believes strongly, as well. - Oh, yes. 00:09:35.20\00:09:38.37 - And I was sitting there, brand-newly 00:09:38.47\00:09:40.11 young mother of thr- I have four children, 00:09:40.24\00:09:42.44 and my youngest was three months old, and Pastor 00:09:42.58\00:09:45.11 Don Mackintosh stood up and he said, "You 00:09:45.21\00:09:46.92 know, it's nice, Adventists, that you get together 00:09:47.02\00:09:50.39 once a year and you have a nice program for yourself, 00:09:50.49\00:09:53.12 but what are you doing for the community around 00:09:53.25\00:09:55.46 you? Do they even know you're here?" And he showed 00:09:55.56\00:09:58.79 a short snippet of a video of a secular group 00:09:58.86\00:10:01.56 that was providing free medical and dental care. 00:10:01.66\00:10:03.93 And he goes, "Adventists, what are you doing?" 00:10:04.07\00:10:06.94 And it was like a bolt of lightning just went 00:10:07.07\00:10:09.60 up and down my spine, and God was like, "Do it." 00:10:09.70\00:10:11.64 And I said, "God, in case you forgot, I'm 00:10:11.74\00:10:14.74 a mommy of four, my baby is three months old, my 00:10:14.84\00:10:17.75 little ones are two and four and 12, and I'm a 00:10:17.88\00:10:22.12 full-time working mom! I'm an OBGYN! How am 00:10:22.18\00:10:25.09 I supposed to do this?" And God said, "Do it." 00:10:25.22\00:10:26.96 And so, I said, "Okay, Lord." At least by 00:10:27.06\00:10:29.36 then, I'd learned his voice. And so I said, 00:10:29.49\00:10:31.89 "Okay, Lord! If that's what you want me to do, 00:10:31.96\00:10:33.60 I'll do it." And so, had no clue what I 00:10:33.70\00:10:35.53 was doing. Called my most trusted people 00:10:35.63\00:10:38.43 and said, "This is what we're gonna do," and 00:10:38.60\00:10:41.50 God told us to go after three days of fasting 00:10:41.64\00:10:43.34 and prayer, we weren't sure if we should go to 00:10:43.44\00:10:44.94 Los Angeles or San Francisco, and God said, 00:10:45.07\00:10:47.34 "Go to San Francisco," and that's where the 00:10:47.44\00:10:49.01 first event came out of. - Oh, wow. - So that was 00:10:49.14\00:10:51.98 2014. So the very first event, planning began 2013, 00:10:52.08\00:10:54.48 first event was 2014, it was San Francisco 00:10:54.58\00:10:58.09 in Oakland, and it has just likely talked about 00:10:58.22\00:11:01.19 already. It's just BOOM since then. - So what 00:11:01.29\00:11:04.06 was your thought, Mr. Gilbert? 'Cause you were 00:11:04.16\00:11:05.66 involved from the very beginning, as well. 00:11:05.76\00:11:07.36 Were you involved in that fasting and prayer session, 00:11:07.46\00:11:09.33 or did you become involved after that? 00:11:09.46\00:11:11.23 - I had become involved a little bit after that. 00:11:11.33\00:11:13.20 Lela said, "Dad, I would like you to design the 00:11:14.47\00:11:17.94 layout for the event." And as I decided to design 00:11:18.07\00:11:24.45 it, then loin? the dimensions of the facility 00:11:24.55\00:11:27.78 and getting all of the different providers 00:11:27.92\00:11:30.25 involved in it, we could lay it out, and it would 00:11:30.32\00:11:33.39 turn out to be quite effective as far as 00:11:33.46\00:11:37.46 being able to provide patients care for all 00:11:37.53\00:11:42.46 these individuals. Now, we were only two blocks 00:11:42.56\00:11:45.60 from the center of, we call it, "Homeless Center" 00:11:45.70\00:11:48.30 there in Market District, and we had a great 00:11:48.40\00:11:50.77 turnout. - Well, you know, and that reminds 00:11:50.87\00:11:53.34 me of a story that came out of San Francisco, and 00:11:53.44\00:11:57.61 you were just reminding us of that story before. 00:11:57.68\00:11:59.51 - Yes, I wanted... This was a story about a 00:11:59.61\00:12:02.25 young man with children who had broken teeth, 00:12:02.38\00:12:06.62 and I'd like you to explain it for us. [laughter] 00:12:06.72\00:12:09.72 - That was called a toss. I just want you to know 00:12:09.82\00:12:11.99 that. - Just in case you didn't catch it. Okay. 00:12:12.09\00:12:14.66 Well, so, this young man, he was a single 00:12:14.76\00:12:17.27 dad. His two little children, the youngest 00:12:17.37\00:12:19.37 I think was two, the other was four... Homeless dad, 00:12:19.47\00:12:22.40 had just moved from Texas, moved to San Francisco... 00:12:22.50\00:12:25.01 He'd broken off his front two teeth, and 00:12:25.11\00:12:27.58 he had gone to multiple different places where 00:12:27.71\00:12:29.51 he could get a job, and everyone kept saying, 00:12:29.58\00:12:30.91 "No, no, no, you can't get hired," and they 00:12:30.95\00:12:32.35 kept giving him clear indication it was because 00:12:32.48\00:12:34.55 of his teeth. And so finally, he was just 00:12:34.68\00:12:38.05 walking down the street, and he was praying to 00:12:38.19\00:12:39.52 God. He's like, "Lord, God, if You're out there, 00:12:39.59\00:12:41.96 help me, please! I've got these two babies 00:12:42.09\00:12:44.59 that need help!" And just then, he looked 00:12:44.69\00:12:46.76 down, and a piece of paper flew into the 00:12:46.90\00:12:48.40 spokes of the stroller that he was pushing 00:12:48.53\00:12:51.43 for his baby. And so he reached down, he picked 00:12:51.57\00:12:55.27 up the paper out of the stroller spokes, and he 00:12:55.37\00:12:58.84 looked at it, and the very top thing said, 00:12:58.94\00:13:00.88 "Free dental care!" And he couldn't believe what 00:13:00.98\00:13:03.58 he saw! Free dental care at the Armory?! 00:13:03.68\00:13:05.55 Seriously? Really?! And so he went straight 00:13:05.61\00:13:08.02 there with his two babies. It was mid-day, 00:13:08.08\00:13:10.12 the day before the event began-he parked himself 00:13:10.22\00:13:13.15 the very first person in line. The very- 00:13:13.25\00:13:16.12 he stayed all night long with his two little ones. 00:13:16.22\00:13:18.39 - He sat all night long. - All day and all night, 00:13:18.49\00:13:21.16 and he was the very first dental patient to come 00:13:21.26\00:13:23.90 in. He was serviced, we had before and 00:13:24.00\00:13:26.50 after pictures. His teeth looked perfect afterwards. 00:13:26.60\00:13:29.60 He went straight from there and he went to 00:13:29.74\00:13:31.71 a job placement agency, and he got a job. - Amen. 00:13:31.84\00:13:35.18 - That fast. And he went back. He was like the 00:13:35.34\00:13:37.28 one leopard that came back and thanked Jesus. 00:13:37.35\00:13:40.18 He came back to the event and he told the 00:13:40.28\00:13:42.18 dentist who helped fix his teeth. He said, "Thank 00:13:42.28\00:13:45.09 you so much. God used you to change my life." 00:13:45.19\00:13:48.12 [Amen.] So, it's a miracle. - That's great. - So, what 00:13:48.22\00:13:51.79 does that do for you? I know we're going off 00:13:51.89\00:13:53.36 topic for just a second, but what does that do 00:13:53.43\00:13:55.33 for-any one of you want to jump in-to feel like 00:13:55.46\00:13:57.73 you have a part in impacting someone's 00:13:57.83\00:14:02.17 life, whether it's physically or emotionally or spiritually 00:14:02.30\00:14:07.01 for eternity? What does that feel like? - Well, 00:14:07.11\00:14:09.48 you know, Jill, when I got involved in Pathway, 00:14:09.58\00:14:11.98 we'd heard about this clinic and we thought, 00:14:12.08\00:14:15.58 "Well, what can we do? We're not medical people." 00:14:15.65\00:14:17.55 And my family, we wanted our children to become 00:14:17.65\00:14:22.19 involved in ministry, but we had done 00:14:22.26\00:14:24.59 some mission trips across the seas, and those are 00:14:24.66\00:14:26.80 very expensive, but this one was just in 00:14:26.90\00:14:28.76 Beckley. And so, we learned that there were 00:14:28.86\00:14:31.90 things that people who were non-medical could 00:14:32.03\00:14:34.44 do, and so we brought all of our children along. 00:14:34.54\00:14:37.14 We thought that we were going to be giving-but 00:14:38.31\00:14:42.98 what ended up happening was, what we received 00:14:43.08\00:14:45.91 was so much more... - Amen. - ...was so much more than 00:14:46.01\00:14:49.58 what we ever thought to give away. The blessings, 00:14:49.65\00:14:52.42 and when people tell us their stories, and 00:14:52.55\00:14:56.42 just everyone that we helped was so grateful, 00:14:57.83\00:15:01.86 it really just reinforced for us this is what Jesus 00:15:01.96\00:15:07.90 wanted for us! This is what Jesus wanted us 00:15:08.00\00:15:11.07 to do was to give back and get that feeling 00:15:11.17\00:15:15.01 that Jesus got when He helped others. It was 00:15:15.08\00:15:18.48 amazing. - Amen. - It was amazing. - It goes 00:15:18.55\00:15:21.35 to show that when we make ourselves available 00:15:21.45\00:15:24.72 to God, God uses us to answer other people's 00:15:24.79\00:15:27.62 prayers. - Amen. - That's beautiful. Absolutely. - And- 00:15:27.69\00:15:31.46 I was just gonna say, and Benny, I mean, 00:15:31.56\00:15:34.23 you give so much of your time. I mean, 00:15:34.30\00:15:36.67 we pulled you out of retirement, and you're 00:15:36.77\00:15:38.80 hardly retired anymore. - No, I'm looking for a 00:15:38.87\00:15:40.80 full-time job to get some rest. [laughter] 00:15:40.87\00:15:43.71 - You didn't just say that. - So, why? I 00:15:43.84\00:15:46.98 mean, tell our viewers why do you keep doing 00:15:47.08\00:15:49.44 this? Why do you give and give and give? - Well, 00:15:49.51\00:15:52.61 with me, it goes back to a number of years ago 00:15:52.71\00:15:54.78 when... I don't remember all the circumstances, now; 00:15:54.88\00:15:58.09 it was too far back. But I just remember getting 00:15:58.19\00:16:02.22 down beside my bed and praying, and I told the 00:16:02.32\00:16:04.19 Lord that I would do whatever He asked 00:16:04.26\00:16:06.59 me to do and that I would go wherever He 00:16:06.70\00:16:09.06 sent me...and I had not a clue what was coming 00:16:09.16\00:16:12.33 after that. [laughs] - Kyle, you were gonna 00:16:12.43\00:16:15.97 jump in. - Oh, I was just gonna say just 00:16:16.07\00:16:17.61 for what these guys were saying, there 00:16:17.71\00:16:19.94 is nothing like being able to see somebody's life 00:16:20.04\00:16:23.24 changed. - That's right. - Mhm. - And, of course, 00:16:23.35\00:16:25.75 we want to see them changed physically. 00:16:25.85\00:16:29.08 We want to help them with their physical problems, 00:16:29.18\00:16:30.52 but ultimately we want them to be changed 00:16:30.65\00:16:32.19 spiritually for eternity. - Amen. Amen. - And 00:16:32.29\00:16:34.99 so, that is the greatest blessing: to see that 00:16:35.06\00:16:37.43 happen over and over and over again. God 00:16:37.53\00:16:39.29 doesn't fail in healing people. It's like... 00:16:39.39\00:16:42.50 You know, we just come with a willing heart 00:16:42.56\00:16:44.70 whether you're a doctor or not-I'm not a medical 00:16:44.77\00:16:47.17 person, okay?-but you know, all of us are 00:16:47.24\00:16:49.44 working together, medical, non-medical, and it's 00:16:49.50\00:16:52.31 the Holy Spirit that does the miracles- 00:16:52.41\00:16:54.34 you know? And the people are healed, and then 00:16:54.44\00:16:57.75 they're brought to Him. It is so powerful! 00:16:57.81\00:17:00.48 I mean, I just can't tell you how powerful 00:17:00.58\00:17:01.92 it is to be walking among thousands of 00:17:01.98\00:17:04.25 people getting healed all at once! - Yes. - That's 00:17:04.35\00:17:06.55 right. - It is a miracle of God. And people that 00:17:06.65\00:17:10.06 go into that convention center or that stadium 00:17:10.16\00:17:12.89 and they come out saying, "Who are you people?! 00:17:12.99\00:17:14.80 Where are you coming from? Where is this 00:17:14.86\00:17:17.03 light that we see shining on your faces coming 00:17:17.13\00:17:19.40 from?" I mean, it's a miracle of God. - Yes. 00:17:19.50\00:17:23.34 - And it's the moving of the Holy Spirit. This is 00:17:23.44\00:17:25.14 how God wants to reach the world so that people 00:17:25.24\00:17:27.84 will know who Jesus really is. - And you know, Mr. 00:17:27.94\00:17:31.21 Gilbert, it reminds me... I just share a little 00:17:31.28\00:17:33.05 bit about the effect that this has on people- 00:17:33.15\00:17:35.52 like at the convention, the convention managers 00:17:35.62\00:17:38.32 and the mayors, and those kinds of things. - When we talk to 00:17:38.42\00:17:41.06 people, especially at the governmental stage 00:17:41.19\00:17:44.49 elevation, they... We introduced- Benny Moore 00:17:44.59\00:17:52.53 and I went into the office in Indianapolis, 00:17:52.63\00:17:55.20 and we showed the video of what had happened in 00:17:55.30\00:17:58.17 Los Angeles. They were amazed at what was 00:17:58.27\00:18:02.78 happening. They were just stunned, and they 00:18:02.88\00:18:06.11 said, "You guys are doing this for free?" 00:18:06.21\00:18:08.12 And we said, "Yes." It surprises them, 00:18:08.22\00:18:15.22 because they all think that we should be 00:18:15.32\00:18:17.73 charging for this service instead of actually giving 00:18:17.83\00:18:21.76 of our lives to help someone else. And they love it. 00:18:21.86\00:18:27.20 The people love it. - Amen. Absolutely. 00:18:27.34\00:18:30.87 What a witness! - It is a witness. - You know? 00:18:31.01\00:18:32.81 I mean, that's an incredible witness. 00:18:32.87\00:18:34.28 How many people have been served? I know 00:18:34.44\00:18:35.78 we have a video we're gonna watch. But Pastor 00:18:35.84\00:18:37.68 Kyle, do you have those statistics-how many people 00:18:37.81\00:18:39.51 have been served? - Okay so, 29 thousand people- 00:18:39.61\00:18:42.95 praise God-have been served. - Amen. - 29 thousand. 00:18:43.05\00:18:47.22 - 29 thousand, and that's... If you add all the days 00:18:47.32\00:18:49.12 together, if you add... Each event is two and a 00:18:49.22\00:18:51.93 half days. At least, that's how we've been 00:18:52.06\00:18:53.76 doing it. If you add all those days together, 00:18:53.86\00:18:55.20 it's 21 days, and so 29 thousand patients 00:18:55.33\00:18:59.00 in 21 days. And if you add all of the value of 00:18:59.10\00:19:02.57 the medical care that those patients 00:19:02.70\00:19:05.07 have received, that's almost 100- just shy 00:19:05.17\00:19:07.84 of $190 million in free health care. - Wow! 00:19:07.94\00:19:12.18 190 million. - 190 million. That's why when we go 00:19:12.28\00:19:16.22 to government offices and hospitals, they're 00:19:16.35\00:19:18.89 just like, "Whoa, really? Can we get involved, 00:19:19.02\00:19:21.99 too?" And so, all of a sudden we have amazing partners 00:19:22.09\00:19:24.99 that we as-not necessarily as a Seventh-day Adventist 00:19:25.13\00:19:28.20 Church might necessarily be able to partner with. 00:19:28.26\00:19:30.50 We're partnering with government officials 00:19:30.60\00:19:32.23 and hospitals and all kinds of organizations and 00:19:32.33\00:19:34.60 different NGOs. Again, all because we're doing 00:19:34.70\00:19:39.47 what Jesus asked us to do. - Even in Hollywood, 00:19:39.61\00:19:41.44 Dr. Lela...do you remember? Dr. Jimmy Seggie? - That's 00:19:41.58\00:19:44.98 right. - And, you know, someone very connected 00:19:45.11\00:19:46.75 in Hollywood. He was crying as he watched 00:19:46.85\00:19:49.82 the video about what Pathway was all about. 00:19:49.92\00:19:53.39 This man we never would've been able to get- we 00:19:53.49\00:19:55.72 were in his house, you know? In Wilshire Boulevard, 00:19:55.82\00:19:57.89 downtown LA, and here he was, learning about 00:19:57.99\00:20:01.70 what the Adventist Church was doing to serve people- 00:20:01.80\00:20:04.13 and it brought him to tears. And he came to 00:20:04.23\00:20:06.60 the event. - Amen. - And so, that's the- we can 00:20:06.70\00:20:10.47 impact people that we would never otherwise 00:20:10.57\00:20:12.84 be able to reach through this type of ministry. 00:20:12.91\00:20:15.01 [That's right.] - Speaking of the video, I want to 00:20:15.08\00:20:16.58 go to that video. So Pastor Benny, you want 00:20:16.64\00:20:18.15 to set that up for us? What are we gonna see 00:20:18.25\00:20:19.58 here coming up? - Well, we were miraculously- 00:20:19.61\00:20:23.05 as you hear maybe a little more about later. Anyway, 00:20:23.15\00:20:26.65 we had a meeting with the mayor in Indianapolis 00:20:26.76\00:20:31.26 to try to let him understand what was available-what 00:20:31.33\00:20:34.96 we would like to do as part of the whole thing- 00:20:35.06\00:20:38.40 you know, with the General Conference session-but 00:20:38.47\00:20:39.93 we'd like to do something for your people. And 00:20:40.04\00:20:42.14 as we did that, we realized that we had different 00:20:42.27\00:20:45.21 videos. One video would talk about Los Angeles, 00:20:45.31\00:20:48.34 another one would talk about San Antonio, and 00:20:48.44\00:20:50.38 another one would talk about Spokane. So, we 00:20:50.48\00:20:52.61 had a lot of different ones-you know? Or 00:20:52.71\00:20:54.28 Beckley, West Virginia- whatever. And so, we 00:20:54.38\00:20:57.62 had our video people put together a video 00:20:57.72\00:20:59.95 which brought the mayors of the different cities 00:21:00.06\00:21:03.96 that we had been to all into one video instead of 00:21:04.06\00:21:07.50 being in all these different videos, which would be 00:21:07.60\00:21:10.97 difficult to show. And so, we call it the "Multi-city 00:21:11.03\00:21:14.50 Review". [laughter] And yeah. I think that you 00:21:14.60\00:21:17.84 will find it very interesting as you see the mayors 00:21:17.94\00:21:20.71 of the different cities where we've been and 00:21:20.81\00:21:23.04 their comments and how they felt about this event 00:21:23.14\00:21:26.38 coming to their city. - Amen. Let's take a 00:21:26.48\00:21:28.72 look at that video now. 00:21:28.78\00:21:30.12 - In every community, there is need. For some, 00:21:37.06\00:21:42.73 The need is not easy to spot, but is very real. 00:21:42.83\00:21:47.60 For others, the need is obvious. And in many 00:21:48.84\00:21:52.21 cases, desperate. 00:21:52.31\00:21:55.48 Many have recognized the need: counties, 00:21:59.61\00:22:02.48 cities, businesses, civic and faith-based 00:22:02.58\00:22:06.92 organizations have come together to make 00:22:07.02\00:22:09.59 a tangible difference in the lives of those 00:22:09.69\00:22:11.76 who make up our communities. Among these partnerships, 00:22:11.86\00:22:15.93 Your Best Pathway to Health, a humanitarian 00:22:16.06\00:22:19.53 service of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, has joined 00:22:19.63\00:22:22.90 forces with county and city leaders across North 00:22:23.04\00:22:25.87 America to bring hope and wholeness to those 00:22:25.94\00:22:29.34 who need it most. - I am so grateful that I came. 00:22:29.44\00:22:34.52 And if I had my way, I'd bring everybody 00:22:34.65\00:22:37.19 else I could. I can't thank you guys enough. 00:22:37.25\00:22:40.66 I really can't. - I have to say, my first thought of 00:22:40.79\00:22:45.19 the event was, "Gosh, that sounds too good 00:22:45.29\00:22:47.96 to be true." My expectations have been exceeded by 00:22:48.06\00:22:51.77 more than I can describe. Through my tour yesterday, 00:22:51.83\00:22:55.90 it's magnificent. When I see the looks on those 00:22:56.00\00:22:59.77 you observe, when I see the looks on the face 00:22:59.87\00:23:02.78 of those volunteers, it's a very-lack 00:23:02.88\00:23:06.61 of better word-very magical experience. 00:23:06.72\00:23:08.95 - Together with partner in businesses, non-profit 00:23:10.15\00:23:12.62 organizations, and thousands of volunteers, 00:23:12.72\00:23:15.19 Pathway to Health has organized nationwide 00:23:15.32\00:23:18.03 three-day mega-clinics which are able to provide 00:23:18.16\00:23:21.66 medical, dental, vision, and many other services 00:23:21.76\00:23:26.30 free of charge to thousands of local residents. - You 00:23:26.40\00:23:30.11 know, it's overwhelming to see the services 00:23:30.21\00:23:33.48 going out, and it couldn't be done 00:23:33.61\00:23:34.94 without 2,000 volunteers. I'm really impressed 00:23:34.98\00:23:38.15 with the services you're offering: portable X-rays, 00:23:38.25\00:23:40.62 dental...a little bit of everything. Even haircuts! 00:23:40.72\00:23:43.72 Thank you for talking about people's overall 00:23:43.82\00:23:45.15 health and wealth, and all of you are doing 00:23:45.25\00:23:47.79 God's work in doing the yeoman's job of 00:23:47.89\00:23:49.99 it. So, thank you. - Free services as 00:23:50.09\00:23:54.13 diverse as dental hygiene, extractions and crowns, 00:23:54.23\00:23:57.93 medical specialties including cardiology, 00:23:58.07\00:24:00.77 pediatrics, OB/GYN, and general surgery, along 00:24:00.87\00:24:06.01 with comprehensive vision care, and a fully functioning 00:24:06.14\00:24:09.48 pharmacy are a standard part of every Pathway 00:24:09.58\00:24:12.65 to Health mega-clinic. - I am blown away- 00:24:12.75\00:24:16.42 blown away-by the level of care that's gonna be 00:24:16.55\00:24:20.26 provided right here in downtown Phoenix at 00:24:20.36\00:24:22.82 your convention center. And up to ten thousand 00:24:22.92\00:24:26.90 people are gonna come here and get the medical 00:24:27.06\00:24:32.63 care that they've needed for a long time...for free! 00:24:32.73\00:24:36.84 And I am so lucky to be the mayor that gets 00:24:36.94\00:24:40.58 to have Pathways to Health here in my city. - I 00:24:40.64\00:24:46.28 just wanted to very briefly express my sincere 00:24:46.38\00:24:49.22 gratitude and appreciation to all the volunteers of the 00:24:49.35\00:24:53.69 Seventh-day Adventist Church and everyone who 00:24:53.79\00:24:56.66 is responsible for putting together this amazing 00:24:56.83\00:24:59.36 event. On behalf of the city council and the 00:24:59.46\00:25:02.76 citizens of San Antonio, we express a huge, huge 00:25:02.83\00:25:06.43 thank-you, or "muchisimas gracias" as we say here 00:25:06.57\00:25:10.01 in San Antonio. - Launched in 2014, Pathway to 00:25:10.14\00:25:14.28 Health has, to date, organized mega-clinics 00:25:14.38\00:25:17.35 in cities such as San Francisco, San Antonio, 00:25:17.45\00:25:20.58 Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Fort Worth. In all, 00:25:20.72\00:25:26.49 more than 14,500 volunteers have given away $164 million 00:25:26.55\00:25:32.59 in free healthcare to more than 36,000 residents. 00:25:32.66\00:25:37.10 The impact has been significant. 00:25:38.07\00:25:41.07 - But I'm leaving here today so fulfilled and so 00:25:41.90\00:25:44.51 grateful for all of the angels that God has 00:25:44.57\00:25:46.61 put into my life. And the people that I've met 00:25:46.71\00:25:48.74 in medical have done more for me and my life 00:25:48.81\00:25:52.85 in just the little bit of time that I've known 00:25:52.95\00:25:54.85 them than most people I've had in my life 00:25:54.92\00:25:56.72 forever. And I wanted to say thank-you to everybody 00:25:56.82\00:25:59.49 for what they've done for me and my life. 00:25:59.59\00:26:01.42 - Without a doubt, the success of Pathway to 00:26:02.36\00:26:04.69 Health rests on strong partnerships between 00:26:04.83\00:26:07.06 mega-clinic organizers and local civic and 00:26:07.16\00:26:09.80 business leaders, working together to secure facilities 00:26:09.86\00:26:12.97 and to bring awareness to as many residents 00:26:13.30\00:26:15.37 as possible. - Pathways to Health's mega-clinic 00:26:15.47\00:26:18.77 provides free health, dental, and eye care 00:26:19.11\00:26:22.01 for Angelinos and their family members in need. 00:26:22.08\00:26:24.61 You can get prescriptions, a regular check-up-even 00:26:24.71\00:26:27.72 surgery without any red tape and no other requirement 00:26:27.82\00:26:30.59 than to be in need. - As each Pathway to Health 00:26:30.69\00:26:34.09 mega-clinic concludes, one question consistently 00:26:34.19\00:26:37.26 rises to the top: "Which city are you going to 00:26:37.36\00:26:41.03 next?" Whether you have already committed to this 00:26:41.13\00:26:44.60 partnership or are considering doing so, we look forward 00:26:44.67\00:26:48.40 to working together to bring hope and healing 00:26:48.50\00:26:51.27 to as many as possible, one person at a time. 00:26:51.34\00:26:55.58 [soft music] 00:26:55.68\00:27:03.69 - Amen. - Amen! That was amazing! So exciting. 00:27:10.39\00:27:14.30 - Just to see the overview and to see the impact- 00:27:14.43\00:27:17.30 to see what God is doing through the ministry of 00:27:17.43\00:27:20.54 Your Best Pathway to Health. That's amazing. So tell us, 00:27:20.64\00:27:23.41 Mr. Gilbert...where are we going next? - We're 00:27:23.51\00:27:25.97 going to Indianapolis, Indiana. - And there's 00:27:26.07\00:27:28.38 probably a good reason for that. - Yes! There's 00:27:28.44\00:27:30.58 a very good reason for that. [laughter] We are 00:27:30.65\00:27:33.18 hoping to be able to see approximately 8,000 00:27:33.28\00:27:37.79 patients there, we hope. The city hall and the mayor, 00:27:37.92\00:27:45.99 as well as the CIB Board there, have given us 00:27:46.09\00:27:49.83 the Lucas Oil Stadium. - That's unbelievable. 00:27:49.93\00:27:52.87 - For free, you mean? They've given? - They've 00:27:52.97\00:27:54.87 given it to us for free April 8, 9, and 10 of 2020. 00:27:54.94\00:28:00.58 - And you know what is so exciting, Jill, is that 00:28:00.68\00:28:03.68 there's only mean two times in the history of 00:28:03.75\00:28:05.48 Pathway where we have received the entire facility 00:28:05.55\00:28:08.18 completely for free, and that was in San Antonio, 00:28:08.28\00:28:11.49 which was the prelude to the 2015 General Conference 00:28:11.59\00:28:14.29 session, and in Indianapolis which, of course, is the 00:28:14.39\00:28:17.19 prelude to the 2020 General Conference 00:28:17.29\00:28:19.19 session. So, I think God has a very special 00:28:19.29\00:28:21.76 purpose this year for Pathway Indianapolis. 00:28:21.90\00:28:25.07 - Just to be clear, I think our viewers should 00:28:25.13\00:28:27.27 know that this is the Lucas Oil Stadium. This 00:28:27.34\00:28:29.77 is where the Indianapolis Colts play. This is a giant 00:28:29.87\00:28:32.81 facility that would cost... how much? - Well, Pastor 00:28:32.91\00:28:35.88 Benny, how much should it have cost? - Well, 00:28:35.94\00:28:37.75 the actual rental fee alone was, like, $140,000. 00:28:37.85\00:28:43.05 - What? - But in addition to that, they're giving 00:28:43.18\00:28:45.45 us other services, which we would normally have 00:28:45.55\00:28:47.76 to pay for, either at a reduced- or... 00:28:47.86\00:28:51.46 ...much savings. And the food! I think 00:28:53.70\00:28:56.46 there's something to do with the food, because 00:28:56.56\00:28:57.90 we feed the patients and the volunteers the 00:28:57.93\00:29:00.84 noon meals on those three days. - The vendor 00:29:00.94\00:29:03.77 Centerplate is going to be providing food for the 00:29:03.91\00:29:09.08 volunteers and the patients on a daily 00:29:09.14\00:29:11.71 basis, and we're probably thinking about 3-4,000 00:29:11.81\00:29:15.98 volunteers, hopefully, and we'll have about 00:29:16.08\00:29:19.02 a thousand to 1,500 patients in the stadium 00:29:19.09\00:29:21.99 at that time, and they're gonna be doing it for free. 00:29:22.12\00:29:24.86 - Wow... - So- I'm sorry. At their cost. - At their 00:29:24.96\00:29:27.40 cost. - Unbelievable. - Believe in that! 00:29:27.53\00:29:30.93 Even that is more than we have in our budget, 00:29:31.03\00:29:34.34 and so George has talked with the people at the 00:29:34.40\00:29:40.08 executive level for the convention center and 00:29:40.11\00:29:44.31 the Lucas Oil Stadium, and they have offered 00:29:44.35\00:29:46.38 to even help us on that, right? - Wow. - Yes. 00:29:46.41\00:29:48.68 Yes, the board has even offered to help us to 00:29:48.72\00:29:50.92 lower the price of the food. - Wow. - And they're 00:29:50.99\00:29:54.62 gonna be providing us with the water that we 00:29:54.66\00:29:56.56 usually have to purchase. - And you know, Jill, 00:29:56.62\00:29:58.66 the very fact that this is happening... You know, 00:29:58.69\00:30:00.76 we talked about the effect that this has on 00:30:00.86\00:30:02.30 communities. You can see whole communities, 00:30:02.36\00:30:05.03 government agencies, the Lucas Oil Stadium 00:30:05.10\00:30:07.90 themselves, all coming together, again, because 00:30:07.97\00:30:10.21 they see us giving like Jesus did, and they want 00:30:10.27\00:30:13.31 to be a part of it. They're excited to be 00:30:13.38\00:30:15.91 a part of this great organization that's 00:30:15.98\00:30:18.71 providing Jesus' methods to the people. - You know 00:30:18.81\00:30:21.98 what I see is partnership- and I like that. You 00:30:22.05\00:30:24.95 know, partnership with the community, with the 00:30:25.05\00:30:27.46 mayors, with the governmental leaders, and then partnership 00:30:27.56\00:30:31.23 hand-in-hand with the church, as well. So, talk 00:30:31.33\00:30:33.83 to us about some of the evangelistic partnership- 00:30:33.93\00:30:36.50 or we could say holistic partnership-that's taking 00:30:36.60\00:30:39.33 place with that. - So, actually, Vinette, why 00:30:39.43\00:30:42.37 don't you tell us just a little bit about some 00:30:42.47\00:30:44.41 of our partners as far as the church is concerned? 00:30:44.51\00:30:47.34 - Well, we have partnered with the Lake Union, and 00:30:47.44\00:30:52.31 the Lake Union has given their full support. We are 00:30:52.48\00:30:57.29 also partnered with the Lake Region Conference 00:30:57.42\00:31:01.22 and the Lake Union Conference. Never before have we 00:31:01.32\00:31:07.40 had such a cohesive group planning for one event. 00:31:07.53\00:31:12.90 We have the General Conference, we have the 00:31:13.00\00:31:14.64 NAD, we have all of these conferences, and... - And 00:31:14.70\00:31:17.54 the Union, the Indianapolis Confere- Indiana Conference. 00:31:17.64\00:31:21.94 - Indiana. - Thank you, Indiana Conference, and 00:31:22.04\00:31:24.98 the Lake Region. And everybody coming together, 00:31:25.08\00:31:26.98 again, for one common goal... - One. - Amen. 00:31:27.05\00:31:29.65 - ...and that is to, really, to truly be 00:31:29.72\00:31:31.39 unified. Just like Jesus said! That He wished 00:31:31.45\00:31:33.76 that we would all be one, even as He and the Father 00:31:33.86\00:31:36.19 were One. - That's right. - Yeah. I mean, I think 00:31:36.29\00:31:38.49 this is one of the most powerful things about 00:31:38.59\00:31:39.93 Pathway, because you see the conferences 00:31:39.96\00:31:42.43 coming together, the Union, the North American 00:31:42.56\00:31:45.03 Division, the General Conference, Loma Linda 00:31:45.13\00:31:47.20 University Health, Kettering Health, Florida Hospital... 00:31:47.34\00:31:50.94 All these people coming together from various 00:31:51.04\00:31:53.38 parts of the church, sometimes from different 00:31:53.44\00:31:55.28 perspectives, but they all have the same purpose: 00:31:55.34\00:31:58.28 and that is to show the love of Jesus to these 00:31:58.38\00:32:02.18 people. - That's right. And that unifies us in 00:32:02.32\00:32:04.82 our mission. It really does. - So, talk to us 00:32:04.99\00:32:07.26 about some of the services that are going to be provided. 00:32:07.36\00:32:09.79 We saw from the video... - Let me mention one other thing 00:32:09.92\00:32:12.86 that I think will be very important to our 00:32:12.96\00:32:14.66 volunteers, and that is that through the church, 00:32:14.76\00:32:17.57 we are able to-and our association in partnership 00:32:17.67\00:32:20.30 with all of the church organizations and particularly 00:32:20.40\00:32:22.97 the North American Division- we are able to offer 00:32:23.04\00:32:26.47 medical insurance, malpractice insurance, to those of 00:32:26.54\00:32:31.48 you who may be considering volunteering. You say, 00:32:31.61\00:32:34.35 "Well, I don't know if my insurance would 00:32:34.42\00:32:35.82 cover me in the state of Indiana and in that 00:32:35.92\00:32:39.25 type of event." But Lela, I think it's really good 00:32:39.35\00:32:42.09 to let them know about that. - Absolutely. - That's 00:32:42.16\00:32:45.53 good. - We have a $10 million coverage. That is 00:32:45.59\00:32:48.66 way more than any physician normally has as an individual 00:32:48.76\00:32:52.87 physician. So, you have the very best insurance 00:32:52.93\00:32:56.54 coverage that you can be assured of. The other 00:32:56.64\00:32:58.47 thing I think is really important, too, Pastor 00:32:58.57\00:33:00.61 Benny, that you bring out is that we work with 00:33:00.68\00:33:02.64 all the appropriate boards. We work with 00:33:02.74\00:33:04.41 the dental board, the medical board-every 00:33:04.48\00:33:06.31 board out there-the physical therapy board, 00:33:06.45\00:33:07.98 to make sure that you're able to get appropriate 00:33:08.05\00:33:10.32 licensure for temporary purposes in the state 00:33:10.42\00:33:13.42 of Indiana. So, you don't have to be concerned 00:33:13.52\00:33:15.22 as a medical provider, "Am I gonna be appropriately 00:33:15.32\00:33:17.76 covered both insurance and also from a licensure 00:33:17.86\00:33:20.30 perspective?" - That's right. And that is very 00:33:20.40\00:33:22.66 important to someone who's considering volunteering. 00:33:22.73\00:33:25.50 - So let's talk about, like Jill said, what are 00:33:25.63\00:33:28.10 some of these services that we offer? I mean, 00:33:28.17\00:33:30.64 let's name a few of our medical services that we 00:33:30.74\00:33:33.44 really need volunteers for. [Surgery.] - Yeah, surgery! 00:33:33.54\00:33:37.68 [laughter] - So tell me, what type of surgery? 00:33:37.78\00:33:39.75 - The reason that I mention surgery is because the 00:33:39.85\00:33:42.02 news people, that's the thing that they see as 00:33:42.12\00:33:45.42 the most special of everything. - That's right. They do. 00:33:45.52\00:33:47.62 Cataract surgery. - Yeah. - Oh, you do cataract 00:33:47.72\00:33:49.99 surgery? - They do cataracts on the floor. - I didn't 00:33:50.06\00:33:51.99 even know that. - Absolutely. - The stadium has set 00:33:52.09\00:33:54.33 aside two large rooms for us to do cataract surgery so we can 00:33:54.43\00:33:59.73 do cataract surgery in both rooms at the same time, and 00:33:59.80\00:34:03.10 that's gonna really make it very effective and 00:34:03.24\00:34:06.74 useful for our eye care department. - So you 00:34:06.84\00:34:10.45 need ophthalmologists. - We need ophthalmologists. 00:34:10.51\00:34:12.51 But you know what else? We need general surgeons. 00:34:12.61\00:34:14.55 General surgeons, if you're watching right 00:34:14.65\00:34:15.98 now, we need you. Why do I say that? And actually, 00:34:16.02\00:34:18.82 all of our surgical subspecialties. We 00:34:18.92\00:34:20.76 use conscious sedation on the floor. Doctors... 00:34:20.86\00:34:23.69 - What does that mean? I don't even know what 00:34:23.83\00:34:25.16 that is. - Twilight Zone. You know? You get a 00:34:25.19\00:34:27.43 colonoscopy, you don't really wanna be awake 00:34:27.53\00:34:29.46 for it, you go into the twilight... - Okay, you're 00:34:29.60\00:34:31.30 not really out. Okay. - You're kind of...Twilight 00:34:31.40\00:34:33.23 Zone, they call it sometimes. So, it's called conscious 00:34:33.34\00:34:36.07 sedation for the medical community, but we have 00:34:36.17\00:34:37.91 that on the floor. So we need anesthesiologists, 00:34:38.01\00:34:40.38 too! - We do. - We need ENT doctors, orthopedists- 00:34:40.48\00:34:45.11 you name it! Gynecologists! I'm an OB/GYN, but we 00:34:45.21\00:34:47.65 need lots of them! We need every surgical 00:34:47.72\00:34:50.42 specialty out there. In fact, do you know 00:34:50.49\00:34:52.42 what? I would say this- wouldn't you guys say 00:34:52.52\00:34:54.52 this?-our services are dependent on the volunteers 00:34:54.59\00:34:58.63 that we get! - Yes, absolutely. - So in 00:34:58.73\00:35:00.96 other words, someone will say, "Well, are 00:35:01.00\00:35:02.56 you gonna offer orthopedics at your event?" Well, 00:35:02.63\00:35:05.07 we're gonna offer orthopedics if we get orthopedic 00:35:05.13\00:35:07.80 surgeons to participate! - But like in LA, we offered 00:35:07.87\00:35:11.27 tattoo removal because we had a physician who 00:35:11.31\00:35:14.44 did tattoo removal! - That's right! So... 00:35:14.48\00:35:16.78 - And dermatologists. - [x2] Yes. - Podiatrists. 00:35:16.81\00:35:20.05 - 'Cause same thing goes for our non-medical services, 00:35:20.12\00:35:22.42 though. Sometimes I- don't forget this one, 00:35:22.48\00:35:24.79 you know, and Page called. Remember that? It was 00:35:24.85\00:35:27.22 before San Antonio. - Yes. - Beauty and barber services, 00:35:27.32\00:35:30.13 yeah! - So she's a beautician, and she called me and she 00:35:30.19\00:35:32.33 said, "You know, Dr. Lela... I'm a beautician. Do 00:35:32.39\00:35:35.50 you think you might be able to use my services?" 00:35:35.53\00:35:37.83 And I was like, "Well, I mean... We are a medical 00:35:37.87\00:35:40.44 hospital on wheels, but I guess, sure. I mean, 00:35:40.47\00:35:43.44 who's gonna want their haircut, but why n"- I 00:35:43.51\00:35:44.84 didn't tell her that. But why not? Let's 00:35:44.87\00:35:46.51 try it out. And lo and behold, it was the third 00:35:46.61\00:35:49.54 sought-after service! Couldn't believe it! 00:35:49.64\00:35:51.98 - So people would come and get their hair cut. 00:35:52.08\00:35:53.72 Or colored, or styled... - All kinds of- styled, 00:35:53.82\00:35:56.45 cut... It's amazing what her department does. 00:35:56.52\00:35:59.45 - And I just have to say this just really 00:35:59.52\00:36:01.42 quick, because Paige, God has used her to 00:36:01.52\00:36:04.99 reach people. As she's cutting their hair, she 00:36:05.09\00:36:06.70 shares with them and they share with her, 00:36:06.83\00:36:08.60 and-I won't share the whole story here-but 00:36:08.70\00:36:10.90 basically, there's a lady that was in San Antonio... 00:36:11.03\00:36:13.57 You remember Patty's story. - Mhm! - Paige 00:36:13.67\00:36:15.50 met her, ministered to her while she was cutting 00:36:15.64\00:36:17.67 her hair... She had come to all three days of the 00:36:17.74\00:36:20.01 clinic, and she was so deeply moved by the love 00:36:20.08\00:36:22.94 that she felt that she came to Mark Finley's 00:36:23.04\00:36:25.21 evangelistic meetings right after the clinic, and 00:36:25.28\00:36:28.95 she was baptized on the first night of the General 00:36:29.02\00:36:31.32 Conference session in 2015. [Wow.] And she's 00:36:31.42\00:36:33.36 still attending Adventist church today...[Wow.]...in 00:36:33.46\00:36:35.32 San Antonio. And so, you see that impact, 00:36:35.42\00:36:38.63 and it started with Paige! Yeah! [simultaneous chatter] 00:36:38.76\00:36:43.06 - And you know, we can't forget the dental. We've 00:36:43.16\00:36:44.97 already mentioned it a couple times, the dental 00:36:45.07\00:36:47.04 line outside... That is so important. - One of the 00:36:47.14\00:36:52.14 services that is most sought after... So, we have 00:36:52.21\00:36:56.28 separate lines. We have a medical line, and we 00:36:56.34\00:36:58.81 have a dental line. When you go outside-we've 00:36:58.91\00:37:04.42 been outside several mornings, Dr. Lela- 00:37:04.49\00:37:06.52 and the line is literally wrapped around whatever 00:37:06.59\00:37:11.49 building. - The block. - The convention center. 00:37:11.59\00:37:13.43 And these people are there, and they sleep 00:37:13.56\00:37:15.40 outside! Some of them are in pain. Some of them 00:37:15.46\00:37:18.93 have not had their teeth cleaned in 15 years, and 00:37:19.03\00:37:22.97 we can only see as many patients as providers that 00:37:23.07\00:37:28.08 we have. So, we would love to be able to see 00:37:28.14\00:37:31.31 all of those patients, but we need dentists! 00:37:31.41\00:37:34.58 The more dentists- we need hygienists. 00:37:34.72\00:37:36.85 It's just... - General assistance. - [x2] We 00:37:38.49\00:37:41.22 even need people who can assist who are non-medical 00:37:41.32\00:37:44.73 or non-dental... - Right. - ...to help in those... - Like 00:37:44.86\00:37:48.30 sterilization. - [x2] In those areas. But 00:37:48.36\00:37:51.73 dentists... We've even had people who- I'll 00:37:51.83\00:37:56.67 never forget one in Phoenix. I met a dentist who 00:37:56.77\00:38:02.08 wasn't even a Seventh-day Adventist, and she had 00:38:03.21\00:38:07.15 heard about Your Best Pathway to Health. She 00:38:07.25\00:38:09.78 closed her entire office... - Oh, wow. 00:38:09.88\00:38:12.32 - For those days. Closed the office and brought 00:38:12.42\00:38:16.22 her entire staff! And that's what we would 00:38:16.29\00:38:21.33 dream for that to have happen at our next event. 00:38:21.40\00:38:24.37 And those people said they have never been 00:38:24.47\00:38:27.20 so blessed by that experience. - And we 00:38:27.27\00:38:32.67 need a lot more dentists. Is that not right, Mr. 00:38:32.81\00:38:34.88 Gilbert? - You're talking about those numbers. 00:38:34.94\00:38:36.48 Elder Finley and I went out in Los Angeles one 00:38:36.58\00:38:39.61 morning-at about 11 o'clock, as I recall- 00:38:39.75\00:38:41.65 and we counted the people in the dental line, and there 00:38:41.78\00:38:44.85 were more than 2,000 people, as I recall, in 00:38:44.95\00:38:47.46 that dental line. - Oh, wow! - That morning. 00:38:47.56\00:38:49.52 - It's true. - You know? It's just... - So that 00:38:49.59\00:38:51.33 just highlights to me the fact that what 00:38:51.46\00:38:53.83 we're doing for Indianapolis- Mr. Gilbert, tell us how 00:38:53.93\00:38:56.50 many dentists we need for Indianapolis. - Oh, 00:38:56.56\00:38:59.43 that's a good question. - We have enough space 00:38:59.50\00:39:01.67 for 150 dentists and hygienists. - 150. 00:39:01.77\00:39:06.21 - 150. - Wow. - Fill the chairs. - And that's... 00:39:06.34\00:39:09.44 To this day, we've never had that many dentists 00:39:09.54\00:39:14.52 and hygienists, including Los Angeles. And if we 00:39:14.62\00:39:17.72 can have that many, then we're gonna increase our 00:39:17.82\00:39:20.22 numbers. Normally, we get about 1,500 patients 00:39:20.32\00:39:23.56 to 1,700 patients taken care of in dentistry. We 00:39:23.66\00:39:28.23 can go well over 2,000- close to 3,000 patients. 00:39:28.30\00:39:31.70 - Amen. Praise God. - And it would make so 00:39:31.77\00:39:34.77 many people happy. - Yeah. - You know, I think dentists... 00:39:34.87\00:39:38.01 - You're telling me you have that many chairs? 00:39:38.11\00:39:39.44 - We need more chairs. - He's always grading 00:39:39.47\00:39:42.68 columns. - And that fully illustrates another 00:39:42.74\00:39:45.41 need that we need. Is that not true, Pastor 00:39:45.51\00:39:47.58 Benny? What do we need? - Yes, well, we need 00:39:47.65\00:39:50.45 equipment to be able to handle that many 00:39:50.52\00:39:52.85 in dentistry, because dental requires... Vinette, 00:39:52.95\00:39:56.42 I believe you have to have chairs, and then 00:39:56.52\00:39:58.86 you have to have dental units that have the 00:39:58.96\00:40:00.80 suction and all of that. As a matter of fact, 00:40:00.90\00:40:03.20 you know, we have purchased a toy hauler 00:40:03.30\00:40:05.63 that is actually a dental unit that- and instead 00:40:05.70\00:40:08.64 of being full of toys, it's full of compressor- 00:40:08.70\00:40:11.57 what all does it have? - It has compressors 00:40:11.67\00:40:13.94 and vacuum machines where we can actually 00:40:14.04\00:40:17.55 provide services to the dentists and can contain 00:40:17.65\00:40:22.72 all waste and a pressure device to make the 00:40:22.78\00:40:27.59 dental units operable. It's completely self-contained. 00:40:27.69\00:40:32.86 This is exactly what the convention center's 00:40:32.96\00:40:36.30 pushing. - Yeah. The challenge of trying to 00:40:36.40\00:40:38.53 get rid of that waste is not a simple thing 00:40:38.63\00:40:42.00 and has created major problems before we got 00:40:42.10\00:40:44.64 this unit. - So, what if someone's watching 00:40:44.71\00:40:46.71 right now and they're saying, "Okay, well, 00:40:46.78\00:40:48.28 I... I'm not a dentist, and I'm not a doctor, 00:40:48.38\00:40:52.51 and I'm definitely not an anesthesiologist. 00:40:52.61\00:40:54.55 Can Your Best Pathway to Health still use me?" 00:40:54.62\00:40:58.02 What would you say? What positions do you 00:40:58.09\00:41:00.39 have available for non-medical volunteers? - Pastor 00:41:00.49\00:41:03.53 Kyle. - Well, we'd like to say, if you have a 00:41:03.63\00:41:05.63 heartbeat... So, if you're watching, check your heart, 00:41:05.69\00:41:07.76 feel it, just put your hand right there... Do 00:41:07.83\00:41:09.80 you feel your heartbeat right now? Okay, yes, 00:41:09.86\00:41:12.43 you have a heartbeat. Okay. Now check your 00:41:12.50\00:41:13.84 mouth. Can you smile? You're eligible. Okay. 00:41:13.87\00:41:16.60 We need you, right? If those two things are 00:41:16.71\00:41:18.91 in order, we need you. - Well, about 70% probably, 00:41:18.97\00:41:22.08 or a little more, volunteers are non-medical. - Okay. 00:41:22.18\00:41:25.85 - For example, one area is that all of our patients 00:41:25.95\00:41:28.35 that come through, they have to be guided 00:41:28.45\00:41:29.98 through. We don't want them just going into this 00:41:30.09\00:41:31.95 big space, so they have to be guided through 00:41:32.02\00:41:34.29 to triage and then to the various services. 00:41:34.36\00:41:36.36 That's our hospitality team, our pact. - Or 00:41:36.46\00:41:39.23 Patient System Transport. - And we need lots of 00:41:39.29\00:41:41.96 volunteers to do that. And those people are 00:41:42.06\00:41:44.37 key because they develop relationships with the 00:41:44.47\00:41:46.87 patients. - But not only that, Pastor Kyle. We 00:41:46.94\00:41:48.97 have a policy where everyone, even the 00:41:49.07\00:41:51.77 person pushing the wheelchair, prays with the patient. 00:41:51.87\00:41:55.81 So, we like to have them prayed for at every single 00:41:55.91\00:41:59.38 station. - Ooh! - And I remember hearing 00:41:59.48\00:42:00.92 these patients come through at the end and they've 00:42:00.98\00:42:03.65 said, "You know, I've been prayed for seven 00:42:03.75\00:42:05.09 or eight t- I've never been prayed for this 00:42:05.15\00:42:06.89 much in my whole life that I got prayed for 00:42:06.96\00:42:09.12 today." - But there's so many other services 00:42:09.19\00:42:10.79 that we desperately need help with. You know, 00:42:10.86\00:42:12.73 things like electricians. Mr. Gilbert, you can 00:42:12.79\00:42:15.03 tell us about that. We need electricians! We 00:42:15.06\00:42:16.83 need plumbers. We need people to help with 00:42:16.87\00:42:18.70 venue services. - Data services. - What is venue 00:42:18.77\00:42:20.94 services? - Data entry, registration...music! 00:42:21.00\00:42:24.61 - That's right! - Child care. - We do music therapy. 00:42:24.64\00:42:26.78 - Food preparations. - We have a whole children's 00:42:26.84\00:42:28.18 department that takes care of the patient children 00:42:28.21\00:42:30.25 and then the volunteer children, because the 00:42:30.31\00:42:32.58 children need to have a safe place for them 00:42:32.65\00:42:35.42 to go, as well! - Medical records, media... These 00:42:35.48\00:42:38.22 are all areas. - Yeah. - Legal services, Lela, 00:42:38.25\00:42:40.59 as well. - Legal services! - Lifestyle. - And counseling 00:42:40.66\00:42:43.96 and mental health. - Now, there's two departments 00:42:44.03\00:42:45.63 that every patient is- actually, three departments- 00:42:45.66\00:42:48.63 that every patient is encouraged to go to, 00:42:48.70\00:42:50.57 and we haven't touched on that yet! And that is 00:42:50.63\00:42:52.93 the laboratory services where they're gonna get 00:42:53.00\00:42:55.87 a lipid profile or a cholesterol panel 00:42:55.94\00:42:58.44 and a diabetes screen and some other blood 00:42:58.47\00:43:00.61 tests that the doctors so approve. And then 00:43:00.68\00:43:03.35 after they get that testing, they go to lifestyle 00:43:03.41\00:43:05.91 department where they learn simple diet and 00:43:05.98\00:43:09.15 lifestyle principles that they can bring 00:43:09.22\00:43:10.85 those cholesterol numbers down! The exciting thing 00:43:10.92\00:43:14.02 is is by the time they get to our chaplain, 00:43:14.09\00:43:16.49 see our spiritual wellness department, they're 00:43:16.56\00:43:18.83 encouraged to follow up with our churches, 00:43:18.89\00:43:21.30 which are called Health Information Centers 00:43:21.36\00:43:23.63 where the people can then learn more about 00:43:23.70\00:43:26.03 healthy living and, ultimately, God's plan 00:43:26.10\00:43:28.34 for spiritual health for their lives, as well. 00:43:28.40\00:43:31.14 - And I wanna make a special appeal to any 00:43:31.21\00:43:33.17 pastors that may be watching-or elders 00:43:33.24\00:43:34.78 or anybody that really cares about people's 00:43:34.84\00:43:36.75 spiritual health-we need you to be a part of our 00:43:36.81\00:43:39.21 spiritual care department. - That's right. - And it 00:43:39.25\00:43:41.42 is the last stop on the journey of the 00:43:41.45\00:43:43.85 Pathway event. - That's right. - But it's so 00:43:43.95\00:43:45.65 crucial, 'cause that's where we connect them 00:43:45.72\00:43:47.06 with our local churches, we pray for them... 00:43:47.09\00:43:49.06 And so, I wanna encourage anyone that has that 00:43:49.12\00:43:52.39 burden on their hearts to consider coming and 00:43:52.43\00:43:54.56 volunteering. - Amen. - So speaking of pastors, 00:43:54.60\00:43:57.00 let's talk for a moment, Dr. Lela, about the spiritual 00:43:57.07\00:43:59.23 component, because following the Pathway to Health-in 00:43:59.27\00:44:02.94 Indianapolis April 8 to 11, I believe- 00:44:03.00\00:44:06.14 following that, shortly after you're gonna start 00:44:06.21\00:44:09.44 some evangelistic meetings. - That's right! - So, as 00:44:09.54\00:44:12.71 follow-up-so talk to us about that. - Well, 00:44:12.75\00:44:14.32 I will be very excited to talk to you about 00:44:14.35\00:44:16.85 that. So, we actually have six spiritual health 00:44:16.89\00:44:19.32 or evangelistic series that are following the 00:44:19.35\00:44:21.26 Pathway to Health event. We have Eric Flickinger 00:44:21.32\00:44:24.29 and John Bradshaw's series right after the 00:44:24.36\00:44:27.26 event-within a week of the event-and the 00:44:27.33\00:44:29.33 exciting thing is is that this testing that we're talking 00:44:29.36\00:44:32.47 about, this point-of-care testing or cholesterol 00:44:32.53\00:44:35.54 and diabetes screening, we're gonna retest the 00:44:35.60\00:44:37.97 patients a week later at the courses, at the 00:44:38.04\00:44:41.34 health courses, which will take place right there 00:44:41.38\00:44:43.11 where these spiritual meetings are gonna 00:44:43.14\00:44:45.55 take place, and then the patients will continue 00:44:45.61\00:44:48.22 to get health programs throughout the evangelistic 00:44:48.28\00:44:51.32 series, as well. So, they'll have further 00:44:51.39\00:44:53.82 opportunity for holistic health. Then we also 00:44:53.86\00:44:56.93 have Carlton Byrd, and then Alejandro Bullón, 00:44:56.96\00:45:00.93 and elder Castro, and then ultimately elder 00:45:01.00\00:45:04.43 Ted Wilson will be having a series, as well. So, 00:45:04.50\00:45:06.84 we're very excited about the follow-up after. 00:45:06.90\00:45:09.00 - And there's something that you know from 00:45:09.10\00:45:12.31 experience, you and George both here, know from 00:45:12.37\00:45:14.48 experience, and that is, there is something that 00:45:14.58\00:45:16.88 can be done at our event to give these patients 00:45:16.98\00:45:20.48 enough knowledge to know what to do so that their 00:45:20.58\00:45:24.52 second test a week or so later that there's 00:45:24.59\00:45:27.69 enough time there, and with the knowledge that 00:45:27.76\00:45:30.66 we're able to share with them, they should see 00:45:30.69\00:45:33.13 their numbers improve significantly by the time 00:45:33.23\00:45:36.20 of that event. - And we've had that happen. 00:45:36.30\00:45:37.67 Within 7-10 days, you can have a 60-point 00:45:37.80\00:45:39.57 drop in your cholesterol if you follow the information 00:45:39.63\00:45:42.30 that will be provided in the lifestyle department. 00:45:42.37\00:45:44.77 So, the patients will see a drop, for sure. 00:45:44.87\00:45:46.47 - So in other words, someone's gonna come in, 00:45:46.57\00:45:48.18 they'll have a poke or a stick or something, 00:45:48.28\00:45:50.35 and they're going to get tested for their 00:45:50.45\00:45:52.08 cholesterol, their lipids, all of that, and then 00:45:52.18\00:45:53.82 they'll be coached on what to do differently? 00:45:53.92\00:45:55.88 Is that what you're saying? - That's right; 00:45:55.95\00:45:57.62 that's right. - Yes. - Right. - And then they're 00:45:57.72\00:45:59.05 gonna come back in a week... - And get free te- 00:45:59.09\00:46:01.42 and one week later, and then they're gonna 00:46:01.52\00:46:03.46 get health programs. Specifically, more information 00:46:03.56\00:46:07.76 on how they can continue to improve their health, 00:46:07.86\00:46:10.40 continue to bring their numbers down, and 00:46:10.50\00:46:12.53 then they'll be invited to the holistic spiritual 00:46:12.63\00:46:15.60 health component, which is the evangelistic series 00:46:15.70\00:46:18.27 in combination with cooking classes, diabetes, 00:46:18.37\00:46:21.21 depression, recovery programs... So, there's a lot of 00:46:21.31\00:46:24.01 information that they'll continue to get while 00:46:24.08\00:46:26.55 they're- information about their spiritual health, 00:46:26.65\00:46:29.25 as well. - Right, and this is the first time 00:46:29.35\00:46:30.89 that we've been able to do this to this level. 00:46:30.99\00:46:32.95 We've always had it where they would come 00:46:33.05\00:46:34.76 to the HICs to get lab results. - Health Information 00:46:34.86\00:46:37.79 Center. - Right, right. Health Information Centers. 00:46:37.89\00:46:40.46 But we have not before had it where we actually 00:46:40.56\00:46:44.10 are doing testing and giving them some results 00:46:44.17\00:46:46.10 before they leave and the knowledge of what 00:46:46.20\00:46:48.80 to do to be retested and see, hopefully, a 00:46:48.87\00:46:53.21 great improvement. - I think that... I'm so excited 00:46:53.31\00:46:56.75 about what's gonna happen. Because, you know, this 00:46:56.81\00:46:59.11 is really Christ's method. - Yes. - And to think 00:46:59.21\00:47:02.22 about healing and what it takes for a person 00:47:02.32\00:47:05.79 to be healed, it's not just-and I think this 00:47:05.85\00:47:08.19 is the key point-it's not just the physical 00:47:08.29\00:47:09.76 healing that people need, right? A lot of 00:47:09.82\00:47:12.06 times, we think of healing in terms of 00:47:12.16\00:47:13.50 just that physical healing, but it's the emotional, 00:47:13.53\00:47:14.96 and then ultimately, the spiritual healing... 00:47:15.03\00:47:16.63 - That's right. - ...that's the full package, and that's 00:47:16.73\00:47:19.03 what we have as Adventists to give to the world. 00:47:19.13\00:47:20.94 We can't- if we leave out the spiritual healing 00:47:21.00\00:47:22.94 part, then we're neglecting that key element that 00:47:23.04\00:47:27.18 Christ... You know, Ministry of Healing, 143, 00:47:27.28\00:47:29.24 "The Savior mingled with men as one who 00:47:29.34\00:47:31.61 desired their good, He showed His sympathy 00:47:31.71\00:47:33.98 for them, ministered to their needs, won 00:47:34.05\00:47:35.72 their confidence"-but it doesn't stop there- 00:47:35.82\00:47:37.72 "then He bade them, 'Follow Me.'" [Yes.] 00:47:37.79\00:47:40.29 - And I think it's really important to get across, 00:47:40.36\00:47:42.36 too, that the mental health component is 00:47:42.42\00:47:44.63 just as important as the physical and the 00:47:44.73\00:47:47.73 spiritual. It's a triad, you know? It's a beautiful 00:47:47.86\00:47:50.07 triangle of health. And for me, "Let this 00:47:50.13\00:47:53.47 mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." 00:47:53.54\00:47:56.37 Jesus is calling us to have a perfect, healthy 00:47:56.47\00:47:58.97 mind so that we can be physically healthy, and 00:47:59.07\00:48:02.31 ultimately, spiritually healthy. [Amen.] - We 00:48:02.44\00:48:04.58 have just a few moments left, and we would definitely 00:48:04.71\00:48:06.92 put up the contact information for Your 00:48:07.02\00:48:09.08 Best Pathway to Health, because we want YOU 00:48:09.18\00:48:11.29 to be involved. But talk to us in our 00:48:11.39\00:48:12.95 remaining time about: we've discussed the needs, 00:48:13.05\00:48:15.49 but let's recap what the needs are for this 00:48:15.59\00:48:17.86 upcoming Your Best Pathway to Health in 00:48:17.93\00:48:20.43 April, as far as medical and non-medical for 00:48:20.53\00:48:23.67 volunteers. Mr. Gilbert, will you want to start 00:48:23.77\00:48:25.93 with that? And then someone else can jump 00:48:26.03\00:48:27.94 in, too. And then also, I want, Pastor Benny, 00:48:28.04\00:48:30.31 about the finances, 'cause we know that 00:48:30.41\00:48:32.91 there's a great need for finances for this 00:48:32.97\00:48:34.78 as well. Mr. Gilbert. - If you have any- or if you are a 00:48:34.88\00:48:38.85 provider, we need your help in any specialty- 00:48:38.95\00:48:42.65 whether it be mental health or medical or 00:48:42.75\00:48:47.02 dental-we need your help. In addition to that, 00:48:47.12\00:48:50.19 if you're non-medical, we need your help. 00:48:50.29\00:48:53.60 There are so many different areas that 00:48:54.06\00:48:56.60 were mentioned already that anyone can help in 00:48:56.67\00:49:00.00 if you'll just volunteer. We can find a place 00:49:00.07\00:49:04.71 for you. - Right. - And if you go to the website, 00:49:04.77\00:49:07.41 PathwayToHealth.org, PathwayToHealthVolunteer.org- 00:49:07.48\00:49:12.05 both of them work-you can learn many other 00:49:12.11\00:49:14.12 areas where you can volunteer, as well. 00:49:14.18\00:49:15.52 - Nice! - Dr. Lela, I think we should just 00:49:15.58\00:49:17.22 mention... We didn't talk about nurses, but 00:49:17.32\00:49:18.72 we need nurses. - Absolutely. - Ooh! - In a big way. 00:49:18.82\00:49:21.12 Just to put that in there, also. - Pastor 00:49:21.22\00:49:23.69 Benny. - Yeah. And naturally, these things 00:49:23.76\00:49:26.36 cost money, and I'm thankful that- you know, 00:49:26.46\00:49:29.56 I've worked in treasury for a number of years, 00:49:29.63\00:49:32.10 and one thing I've learned: and that is 00:49:32.17\00:49:34.44 God's problem is not money. You know? God's 00:49:34.50\00:49:38.31 problem is not money; His problem is us. - Yes. 00:49:38.44\00:49:42.01 - That's right. - But where His money is 00:49:42.11\00:49:43.45 is in our possession. And so, one of the 00:49:43.55\00:49:48.52 things that we have learned as we have 00:49:48.62\00:49:50.22 done these events now for a number of years 00:49:50.29\00:49:52.05 is that the average cost for a patient is 00:49:52.15\00:49:55.26 about $100. So a lot of you could sponsor 00:49:55.39\00:49:59.06 one or more patients. My wife and I generally 00:49:59.13\00:50:01.23 sponsor 10 patients for every event. And it's 00:50:01.33\00:50:04.30 just, you know, we don't know the story 00:50:04.37\00:50:06.90 and we won't know, maybe, this side of heaven 00:50:07.00\00:50:08.54 what actually happens with those patients that 00:50:08.60\00:50:11.04 we sponsor, but we need a lot of sponsors for 00:50:11.14\00:50:14.11 patients. And one of the things, even- you know, 00:50:14.21\00:50:17.45 and certainly, we need larger contributions to 00:50:17.55\00:50:20.42 help us with larger pieces of equipment 00:50:20.55\00:50:22.52 and some of the major challenges that we face. 00:50:22.62\00:50:25.32 But one of the things that we definitely need 00:50:25.42\00:50:30.06 to do is to be able to help- now that we're 00:50:30.16\00:50:33.29 telling our churches, our Health Information 00:50:33.36\00:50:35.76 Centers, "You need to do this additional testing. 00:50:35.83\00:50:38.70 We would like to be able to help them with the 00:50:38.80\00:50:41.34 cost of those... - Supplies. - ...tests that- the materials 00:50:41.44\00:50:46.24 for those tests," and we've never had that before, 00:50:46.31\00:50:47.94 so that's even a greater need. - So the churches 00:50:48.04\00:50:50.18 have a financial need, too. - That's right. - Yes! 00:50:50.28\00:50:53.88 - Again, the long-standing effect of holistic health- 00:50:53.98\00:50:57.09 to be able to accomplish that. - We have found- 00:50:57.19\00:50:59.55 in one specific event that I know the actual 00:50:59.65\00:51:03.02 numbers for that actually, one-half of the people 00:51:03.12\00:51:06.83 who came to the seminars afterwards were baptized. 00:51:06.90\00:51:08.83 - Wow! - So, I mean, it just has an- the 00:51:08.93\00:51:11.90 people, they wanna join us so they can help us 00:51:12.03\00:51:14.17 do what we're doing! - What incredible statistics. 00:51:14.27\00:51:16.30 - Amen. - What an exciting program. We are going 00:51:16.40\00:51:17.91 to go to the contact information right now 00:51:17.97\00:51:20.18 for Your Best Pathway to Health. If you have 00:51:20.28\00:51:22.54 a heartbeat and you can smile, the Lord can use 00:51:22.64\00:51:25.61 YOU! [Absolutely! Amen.] So whether you're medical 00:51:25.75\00:51:28.45 or non-medical, please get involved. Be the 00:51:28.55\00:51:31.72 hands and feet of Jesus. And if you can't come, 00:51:31.82\00:51:34.82 you can financially support Your Best Pathway to Health. 00:51:34.96\00:51:38.89 - That's right. - Thank you. - If the Holy Spirit 00:51:38.99\00:51:42.96 is impressing you to help with Your Best 00:51:43.06\00:51:44.83 Pathway to Health, you may do so in many ways. 00:51:44.90\00:51:47.34 They welcome both medical and non-medical volunteer 00:51:47.40\00:51:49.74 providers, donations, and especially, your prayers. 00:51:49.87\00:51:52.24 For more information or to register as a volunteer, 00:51:52.31\00:51:55.11 please visit their website, PathwayToHealthVolunteer.org. 00:51:55.21\00:51:59.35 That's PathwayToHealthVolunteer.org 00:51:59.45\00:52:03.32 You may also call them at (623) 329-0072, 00:52:03.39\00:52:09.09 or write to them at Your Best Pathway to Health 00:52:09.19\00:52:12.03 Post Office Box 1252 Collegedale, Tennessee 37315. 00:52:12.16\00:52:19.37
