All right. 00:07:37.99\00:07:39.42 Well, if you're joining us just a moment late, today, 00:07:39.45\00:07:42.32 our special guest is Ostap Dzyndra, 00:07:42.36\00:07:47.00 and you are the president 00:07:47.03\00:07:48.93 and founder of Build and Restore International. 00:07:48.96\00:07:54.04 We may call it BRI 00:07:54.07\00:07:56.91 but we don't want anybody to get confused, 00:07:56.94\00:07:58.77 this is not The Biblical Research Institute. 00:07:58.81\00:08:02.01 But, Ostap, 00:08:02.04\00:08:03.38 let's kind of go back to the beginning. 00:08:03.45\00:08:08.85 Your name, first of all, what does Ostap mean? 00:08:08.88\00:08:12.42 Well, I learned just recently what the meaning was as, 00:08:12.45\00:08:17.03 you know, I was in South Africa 00:08:17.06\00:08:18.73 helping with the church building project, 00:08:18.76\00:08:21.13 there was a lady there that was coming 00:08:21.16\00:08:22.83 and just peeking at the corner of the property 00:08:22.86\00:08:25.57 to see what was this building project all about, 00:08:25.60\00:08:27.80 and she happened to be pregnant at that time 00:08:27.84\00:08:30.64 with her firstborn son. 00:08:30.71\00:08:33.38 Well, as we return home 00:08:33.41\00:08:35.61 and received a quick message, 00:08:35.64\00:08:39.58 "Hey, what does your name mean?" 00:08:39.61\00:08:41.55 "Oh, I'm not sure." 00:08:41.58\00:08:43.52 Well, they went and did the research, 00:08:43.59\00:08:46.55 found out on Google and sent me a screenshot 00:08:46.59\00:08:49.49 and said, "Look, this is what it means." 00:08:49.52\00:08:52.09 Well, the meaning was steadfast in the faith, and I was like, 00:08:52.13\00:08:55.46 "Wow, I don't think my parents even know that." 00:08:55.50\00:08:58.13 Well, lo and behold, she later told us that the reason 00:08:58.17\00:09:02.00 why she was asking is because she decided 00:09:02.04\00:09:04.21 to name her son after me 00:09:04.24\00:09:05.87 after seeing the transformation that happened in her village... 00:09:05.91\00:09:08.81 Ooh! Hallelujah! With the new church building. 00:09:08.84\00:09:10.35 Okay. 00:09:10.38\00:09:11.71 So this is an old Ukrainian name 00:09:11.75\00:09:14.55 and your mother had read 00:09:14.58\00:09:15.92 a poet by and like that name. 00:09:15.95\00:09:18.79 Tell us about... 00:09:18.82\00:09:21.32 You grew up in the Ukraine till you were nine 00:09:21.36\00:09:24.23 but when communism fell, 00:09:24.26\00:09:26.19 can you pick the story up from there? 00:09:26.23\00:09:29.13 We moved and immigrated as refugees 00:09:29.16\00:09:31.50 with my father back in 1992. 00:09:31.53\00:09:35.00 We have scraped up just enough money 00:09:35.04\00:09:36.50 to buy two plane tickets. 00:09:36.54\00:09:38.34 And then the following year, my mom and my sister joined us 00:09:38.37\00:09:42.08 and we settled in Sacramento, California. 00:09:42.11\00:09:45.28 And just, you know ,growing up and going to church 00:09:45.31\00:09:49.18 and visiting the different congregations, 00:09:49.22\00:09:52.05 we couldn't really find the spot for us 00:09:52.09\00:09:55.09 because there wasn't 00:09:55.12\00:09:56.46 a Ukrainian church there at that time. 00:09:56.49\00:09:57.83 So were you Seventh-day 00:09:57.86\00:09:59.19 Adventist Christians when you came? 00:09:59.23\00:10:00.70 Yes. Okay, okay. 00:10:00.73\00:10:02.06 Yes. 00:10:02.10\00:10:03.47 And so we settled in a small little group 00:10:03.50\00:10:05.60 in the chapel of the central church 00:10:05.63\00:10:08.44 in Sacramento. 00:10:08.47\00:10:10.14 And the following year, Pastor Doug came there. 00:10:10.21\00:10:13.48 And in 2006, 00:10:13.51\00:10:17.81 it was the first time that we got a chance 00:10:17.85\00:10:20.62 to get an opportunity with my sister to go to Mexico 00:10:20.65\00:10:23.59 for a mission project. 00:10:23.62\00:10:24.95 Okay, now this would be your first missionary trip. 00:10:24.99\00:10:26.76 How old were you? 00:10:26.79\00:10:28.39 I was about 18 going, and 19 at that time. 00:10:28.42\00:10:30.66 All right. So you've been a churchgoer all this time, 00:10:30.73\00:10:35.06 did you feel like you had a close relationship 00:10:35.10\00:10:37.47 with the Lord? 00:10:37.50\00:10:39.07 I think mainly I was going through 00:10:39.10\00:10:40.54 the motions of church... Okay. 00:10:40.57\00:10:41.94 And the attendance of church but the relational aspect 00:10:41.97\00:10:44.74 I think wasn't there yet. 00:10:44.77\00:10:46.11 All right. 00:10:46.14\00:10:47.48 But as I always say, if you want your children 00:10:47.51\00:10:51.51 to develop a relationship with Jesus, 00:10:51.55\00:10:54.75 send them on a mission trip, and you're proof of that. 00:10:54.78\00:10:57.42 Tell us what happened in Mexico? 00:10:57.49\00:10:59.89 So Pastor Steve Alred was our youth pastor. 00:10:59.92\00:11:02.29 He packed up the van, packed up the kids and said 00:11:02.32\00:11:05.03 "Let's go down to Mexico." 00:11:05.06\00:11:07.63 So we came across a very poor community. 00:11:07.66\00:11:11.03 And as we were traveling, 00:11:11.07\00:11:13.10 the pastor of that local community said, 00:11:13.13\00:11:15.27 "We have to go visit this region. 00:11:15.30\00:11:17.61 We have to go see what's happening there." 00:11:17.64\00:11:20.48 Now just a few minutes ago, we were at the gas station, 00:11:20.51\00:11:24.25 we probably spend $20 on popcorn and chips and gum, 00:11:24.28\00:11:28.98 and so most of that ended up on the floor of the van, 00:11:29.02\00:11:32.49 and as we pulled up to the community, 00:11:32.52\00:11:35.32 we saw a Blue Bird bus 00:11:35.36\00:11:38.26 abandoned on the side of the road 00:11:38.29\00:11:39.66 with curtains in the middle 00:11:39.69\00:11:41.03 dividing it into three sections. 00:11:41.06\00:11:43.70 And there inside of that bus were three families, 00:11:43.77\00:11:46.84 that was their livelihood. 00:11:46.87\00:11:49.34 And when we saw that picture, it was just incredible to see 00:11:49.37\00:11:54.08 a mother that had come out of the van, their bus, 00:11:54.11\00:11:59.81 she was crying, her son was ill, high fever. 00:11:59.85\00:12:05.12 And so as we converse, 00:12:05.15\00:12:06.59 she said that he was probably going to die soon, 00:12:06.62\00:12:10.43 and he was 13 years old. 00:12:10.46\00:12:13.09 And I said, "How could that be, he's only 13? 00:12:13.13\00:12:14.93 He can't die at that age. 00:12:14.96\00:12:16.30 That's not normal." 00:12:16.33\00:12:18.30 We later learned that she needed to buy medicine 00:12:18.33\00:12:20.47 for the boy, she didn't have the money. 00:12:20.54\00:12:24.11 Well, we said, "how much is the medicine?" 00:12:24.14\00:12:26.68 Oh, she said, "It's 10 pesos." 00:12:26.71\00:12:28.94 It's about a dollar. A dollar. 00:12:28.98\00:12:32.18 We said, "Oh, surely, we can come up with a dollar, 00:12:32.21\00:12:34.48 we just burned up 20 bucks on junk food." 00:12:34.52\00:12:38.42 And that to me was a wakeup call at that time. 00:12:38.45\00:12:41.22 Yeah. 00:12:41.26\00:12:42.59 So you all did dig deep into your pockets, 00:12:42.62\00:12:44.73 came up with about $40, 00:12:44.76\00:12:46.26 your pastor went in and bought medicine, supplies, food, 00:12:46.29\00:12:51.17 but that was a reality check for you, was it not? 00:12:51.20\00:12:56.94 Yeah. 00:12:57.01\00:12:58.34 That was like one of those opening moments to like, 00:12:58.37\00:13:00.98 "Wait a second, what did just happen? 00:13:01.01\00:13:04.08 Did we just experience this?" 00:13:04.15\00:13:06.11 This was our first act of service, 00:13:06.15\00:13:08.22 our first act of helping this poor family. 00:13:08.25\00:13:11.59 And we later learned that her husband had passed away 00:13:11.62\00:13:14.16 from an illness as well, and so now she's a widow, 00:13:14.19\00:13:17.33 a single mother of three kids, and her oldest boy is dying. 00:13:17.36\00:13:21.43 But he did make it, right? 00:13:21.46\00:13:22.80 He did make it. Praise the Lord. 00:13:22.83\00:13:24.40 I mean, that's a fantastic spiritual lesson right there 00:13:24.43\00:13:27.47 because we're fortunate enough here in the states to be fat 00:13:27.54\00:13:32.77 and in need of nothing. 00:13:32.81\00:13:34.84 And we do just drop popcorn all over the floor 00:13:34.88\00:13:37.45 and there's people on the other side over here, 00:13:37.48\00:13:40.42 maybe just across the border 00:13:40.45\00:13:41.85 that could make all the difference in the world. 00:13:41.88\00:13:44.55 Yes. 00:13:44.59\00:13:45.92 So you found though that at 18 years old, 00:13:45.95\00:13:48.89 you learned that service drew you closer 00:13:48.92\00:13:53.90 to the Lord, right? 00:13:53.93\00:13:55.50 So now kind of fast forward, from 2006, 00:13:55.53\00:13:58.83 give us the timeline till today. 00:13:58.87\00:14:02.17 So I continued to get involved in church service, 00:14:02.20\00:14:05.21 I continued to help. 00:14:05.24\00:14:07.68 The Lord provided opportunities to work with the youth. 00:14:07.71\00:14:11.15 Later, the church asked me to be the church secretary 00:14:11.18\00:14:13.82 and help with some of those needs, 00:14:13.85\00:14:15.22 and I continued to serve in that capacity. 00:14:15.25\00:14:18.02 And I still felt there was an element that was missing 00:14:18.05\00:14:21.36 like I had been going to church, 00:14:21.39\00:14:23.96 I participated in Sabbath school, 00:14:24.03\00:14:25.49 I was working with the youth, helping with the pathfinders, 00:14:25.53\00:14:29.63 continuing to do mission trips, 00:14:29.66\00:14:32.00 one or two a year with different groups. 00:14:32.03\00:14:35.44 Some that you organized. 00:14:35.47\00:14:37.21 Some that we had put together with my sister 00:14:37.24\00:14:39.57 and help of others 00:14:39.61\00:14:40.98 but there was still something missing. 00:14:41.01\00:14:42.34 And so I finished college, went on to grad school, 00:14:42.38\00:14:46.55 and as I was studying, 00:14:46.58\00:14:47.92 I was working for water utility. 00:14:47.95\00:14:50.59 And I was praying a prayer that's very simple 00:14:50.62\00:14:52.92 but it was... 00:14:52.95\00:14:54.29 And you were an engineering student? 00:14:54.32\00:14:57.03 I had been enrolled as an engineering student 00:14:57.06\00:14:59.86 and later transferred to business. 00:14:59.89\00:15:02.96 And I've been studying business management, 00:15:03.00\00:15:06.10 and then for the grad school, we did business administration. 00:15:06.13\00:15:09.07 Okay. I did wrap that up. 00:15:09.10\00:15:10.81 And so as I was studying, as I was working, 00:15:10.84\00:15:14.78 there's a prayer that was really 00:15:14.81\00:15:16.21 near and dear to my heart. 00:15:16.24\00:15:18.41 And I just was hoping for God to give me 00:15:18.45\00:15:22.15 some kind of a glimpse, like some kind of an answer, 00:15:22.18\00:15:25.05 and the prayer was "Lord, 00:15:25.09\00:15:26.42 change the desires of my heart." 00:15:26.45\00:15:27.79 Amen. Amen. 00:15:27.82\00:15:29.49 And in 2015, 00:15:29.52\00:15:32.29 I continued to pray that prayer 00:15:32.33\00:15:34.73 and the Lord really spoke to me. 00:15:34.76\00:15:36.97 I was on my way home from work, I was driving, 00:15:37.00\00:15:40.74 I was at a red light 00:15:40.77\00:15:42.10 just talking to the Lord saying, 00:15:42.14\00:15:43.51 "Lord, what's next?" 00:15:43.54\00:15:45.51 I got to see something has to change. 00:15:45.54\00:15:47.41 You know, something needs to give 00:15:47.48\00:15:48.81 I'm not really in a position I want to be 00:15:48.84\00:15:51.45 and I want to be closer to You. 00:15:51.48\00:15:53.92 So let me interrupt, you are successful, 00:15:53.95\00:15:58.02 you're in a successful career 00:15:58.05\00:16:01.46 but there was an emptiness inside of you, 00:16:01.49\00:16:03.83 and you're praying this, okay. 00:16:03.86\00:16:06.43 And as I'm praying there at that stoplight, 00:16:06.46\00:16:09.13 just talking to the Lord in this prayer, 00:16:09.16\00:16:11.10 I'm saying, "Lord, 00:16:11.13\00:16:12.53 where would you have me to go? What would you have me to do? 00:16:12.57\00:16:15.04 How can I connect with you?" 00:16:15.07\00:16:18.51 And the Lord impressed upon my mind 00:16:18.54\00:16:20.18 and the thoughts that came to me 00:16:20.21\00:16:22.71 that I really believe was from the Lord, 00:16:22.74\00:16:24.25 He said to me, 00:16:24.28\00:16:25.81 "You're not spending enough time with me." 00:16:25.85\00:16:28.62 Oh yeah. 00:16:28.65\00:16:30.09 But how can that be Lord, I go to church, 00:16:30.12\00:16:32.42 I attend Sabbath School, I'm helping with the youth, 00:16:32.45\00:16:34.99 I work for basically for the church 00:16:35.02\00:16:37.43 as a volunteer on the committee 00:16:37.46\00:16:38.83 and help with all the secretarial needs 00:16:38.86\00:16:40.96 of the church. 00:16:41.00\00:16:42.33 Truly, I'm involved in church. 00:16:42.36\00:16:44.77 But those are really the motions that were part of, 00:16:44.80\00:16:48.70 you know, serving the Lord, and really, 00:16:48.74\00:16:50.81 I don't think my heart was fully into it. 00:16:50.84\00:16:52.91 And so I really wasn't asking the Lord 00:16:52.94\00:16:55.78 to kind of break down all of the busyness, 00:16:55.81\00:16:59.28 which was good in a way 00:16:59.31\00:17:00.65 but really wasn't allowing for the Lord to speak to me 00:17:00.72\00:17:02.98 in a personal direct way... 00:17:03.02\00:17:04.75 Amen. 00:17:04.79\00:17:06.12 To then understand my calling and my mission 00:17:06.15\00:17:09.16 because I was doing all those things for the church 00:17:09.19\00:17:12.33 but I never asked God 00:17:12.36\00:17:13.70 if that's what He wanted me to do for the church. 00:17:13.73\00:17:15.36 Oh yeah. 00:17:15.40\00:17:16.90 Big lesson right there. 00:17:16.97\00:17:18.40 Amen. Amen. Yes. 00:17:18.43\00:17:20.17 So in here, did you quit your job or what? 00:17:20.24\00:17:24.31 How did you end up 00:17:24.34\00:17:27.64 founding the Build 00:17:27.68\00:17:29.94 and Restore International Ministry? 00:17:29.98\00:17:34.38 So as I'm praying, as I'm searching, 00:17:34.42\00:17:37.12 the Lord began a process of purging in my life. 00:17:37.19\00:17:39.85 There was a lot of things that I was involved in, 00:17:39.89\00:17:43.53 I really liked and enjoyed motorcycles, 00:17:43.56\00:17:45.43 that was a big part of my life, and I like going fast. 00:17:45.46\00:17:48.43 And so I had accumulated so many things around me 00:17:48.46\00:17:52.97 that were occupying my time 00:17:53.00\00:17:55.30 that the thought had come to me from the Lord, 00:17:55.34\00:17:59.17 "Don't you know that you're not spending 00:17:59.21\00:18:00.91 enough time with me" really registered well 00:18:00.98\00:18:03.38 because I was so busy with everything else. 00:18:03.45\00:18:06.72 We could go to the racetrack on Sunday 00:18:06.75\00:18:08.35 and spend all our day there. 00:18:08.38\00:18:10.19 And so God is talking about that intimate 00:18:10.22\00:18:12.42 one-on-one connection 00:18:12.45\00:18:14.06 is where you were failing in where we all... 00:18:14.09\00:18:17.33 I had a similar experience, tell you about it later but. 00:18:17.36\00:18:21.90 So He's taking you through this purging process. 00:18:21.93\00:18:25.50 You ended up in Georgia on some kind of a trip or... 00:18:25.53\00:18:29.20 So as I'm praying, the Lord impresses me to quit my job 00:18:29.24\00:18:34.51 and we do that in 2015. 00:18:34.54\00:18:36.18 Wow. 00:18:36.21\00:18:37.55 I quit my job, and I go to Amazing Facts 00:18:37.58\00:18:40.22 College of Evangelism. 00:18:40.25\00:18:41.65 Great program. 00:18:41.68\00:18:43.02 I learned every single thing 00:18:43.05\00:18:44.42 that I need to know about evangelism 00:18:44.45\00:18:45.99 and exactly how I need to do that, 00:18:46.02\00:18:47.72 how to witness, how to share my testimony, 00:18:47.76\00:18:50.93 how to have your own testimony and what that means 00:18:50.96\00:18:53.53 to the people that you come across 00:18:53.60\00:18:55.16 and how you share that. 00:18:55.20\00:18:56.53 Amen. 00:18:56.56\00:18:57.90 From there, we get an assignment 00:18:57.93\00:18:59.27 to go to Thailand to preach, 00:18:59.30\00:19:01.80 and I'm scared because I've never done 00:19:01.84\00:19:04.01 a full on series of preaching in Thailand, foreign country, 00:19:04.04\00:19:07.48 different language, translation, all those things, 00:19:07.51\00:19:09.71 but the Lord blessed, brought us back 00:19:09.74\00:19:12.35 and I got another call to go over to Alabama. 00:19:12.38\00:19:15.58 Alabama. 00:19:15.62\00:19:16.99 Clanton, Alabama. 00:19:17.02\00:19:18.35 So I meet my host family Bob and Donna Earnest, 00:19:18.39\00:19:20.59 I stay with them. 00:19:20.66\00:19:22.06 They cook beautiful vegetarian vegan meals. 00:19:22.09\00:19:24.53 That was my first encounter with like, wholesome, 00:19:24.56\00:19:28.43 you know, quality made vegetarian vegan food, 00:19:28.46\00:19:31.80 and I was like, "Wow, this is incredible." 00:19:31.83\00:19:34.40 And so we work there at the church. 00:19:34.44\00:19:36.17 We do an evangelistic program with Wyatt Allen 00:19:36.20\00:19:39.14 and his ministry and, you know, the people are revived. 00:19:39.17\00:19:43.68 We're going house to house doing Bible studies, 00:19:43.75\00:19:46.55 we're visiting out in the streets, 00:19:46.58\00:19:47.92 we're doing community outreach in front of Walmart 00:19:47.95\00:19:50.89 inviting people to a health seminar to, 00:19:50.92\00:19:53.02 you know, the church program, the seminar in the evenings, 00:19:53.05\00:19:55.66 and it was just incredible to see all that. 00:19:55.69\00:19:59.56 But there, the Lord used Bob and Donna Earnest 00:19:59.59\00:20:03.37 to reach me and to say, 00:20:03.40\00:20:05.27 "Look, we believe you need to start your own ministry, 00:20:05.30\00:20:08.80 God will show you." 00:20:08.84\00:20:10.21 And I was like, "No way, I can't do that. 00:20:10.24\00:20:12.77 I have no idea what a ministry is or how to start one 00:20:12.81\00:20:15.31 or how to run one." 00:20:15.34\00:20:17.45 And Bob says to me, he says, "Listen, 00:20:17.48\00:20:20.02 just study Isaiah 58 00:20:20.05\00:20:21.92 and God will show you the rest." 00:20:21.95\00:20:24.29 And so I did. 00:20:24.32\00:20:25.65 Wow! All right. 00:20:25.69\00:20:27.36 So what I'd like to do, just we're going to, 00:20:27.39\00:20:32.06 I love this story, 00:20:32.09\00:20:33.43 but Ostap has brought 00:20:33.50\00:20:36.23 a little two-minute video with him to show you. 00:20:36.26\00:20:40.94 So let's share that right now so that you can kind of get 00:20:40.97\00:20:45.44 kind of an overview of what Build 00:20:45.47\00:20:48.88 and Restore International is all about. 00:20:48.91\00:20:51.35 Now more than ever, our world is full of hungry, 00:20:54.38\00:20:57.39 hopeless, and hurting people. 00:20:57.42\00:21:00.36 We can see an increasing need for restoration 00:21:00.39\00:21:02.99 in the lives of every family. 00:21:03.02\00:21:05.63 Many people are looking for truth. 00:23:24.27\00:23:25.60 you knew how to start a ministry 00:23:25.63\00:23:26.97 but God has led every step of the way. 00:23:27.04\00:23:29.57 This is an exciting ministry. 00:23:29.60\00:23:31.74 I was on your web page 00:23:31.77\00:23:34.01 preparing for our interview today. 00:23:34.08\00:23:37.65 I am proud of you. 00:23:37.68\00:23:39.01 Yes, I mean, I was proud myself, thank you. 00:23:39.05\00:23:43.39 Ministry of Healing, page 143, 00:23:43.42\00:23:46.05 and this was important to you, 00:23:46.09\00:23:49.52 and it says, "Christ method alone will give true success 00:23:49.56\00:23:53.83 in reaching the people." 00:23:53.90\00:23:55.36 Christ method alone. 00:23:55.40\00:23:57.07 "The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. 00:23:57.10\00:24:00.77 He showed His sympathy for them, 00:24:00.84\00:24:03.04 ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. 00:24:03.07\00:24:06.11 And then He bade them, 'Follow me.' 00:24:06.14\00:24:09.08 "Amen. 00:24:09.11\00:24:10.45 And I think as we get more into this, 00:24:10.48\00:24:12.18 that we can see this as a model that you're following, 00:24:12.21\00:24:16.99 and not only for you, for each one of us, 00:24:17.02\00:24:19.82 you know, to hear His voice, "Follow me." 00:24:19.85\00:24:22.49 Amen. Amen. 00:24:22.52\00:24:23.96 Ostap, tell us about some of the projects 00:24:24.03\00:24:25.96 that you have done. 00:24:25.99\00:24:27.40 You founded this ministry in 2016. 00:24:27.43\00:24:29.96 What have you been doing since? 00:24:30.00\00:24:32.23 We've had the opportunity 00:24:32.27\00:24:33.64 to travel to different countries 00:24:33.67\00:24:35.40 and also do projects right here at home 00:24:35.44\00:24:38.51 because it's really hard to share the gospel 00:24:38.54\00:24:40.48 with someone when they don't have 00:24:40.51\00:24:41.84 a roof over their head, 00:24:41.88\00:24:43.21 when, you know, their house is decapitated, 00:24:43.24\00:24:45.38 when a storm had gone through and now they have, you know, 00:24:45.41\00:24:49.62 two inches of water in their living room 00:24:49.65\00:24:51.15 and they don't have a clean safe bed to sleep in. 00:24:51.19\00:24:53.86 And so we've been really impressed to go out 00:24:53.89\00:24:57.36 and help in areas of need 00:24:57.43\00:25:00.20 with church buildings, with school buildings, 00:25:00.23\00:25:02.83 restoration projects that are in need as well, 00:25:02.86\00:25:06.87 disaster relief and recovery like with Puerto Rico. 00:25:06.94\00:25:09.44 We've traveled there to help families 00:25:09.47\00:25:12.14 where their house was just swept away by the storm. 00:25:12.17\00:25:15.31 The winds came down and knocked everything over. 00:25:15.34\00:25:18.71 And so in the restoration of the different communities, 00:25:18.75\00:25:22.55 we then have the opportunity, 00:25:22.58\00:25:24.62 like Christ to mingle with the people... 00:25:24.65\00:25:26.32 Yes. 00:25:26.35\00:25:27.69 And they want to know more, 00:25:27.72\00:25:29.06 and they want to know about our church, 00:25:29.09\00:25:30.43 they want to know more about the God that we serve 00:25:30.46\00:25:31.83 because we are helping an immediate need 00:25:31.86\00:25:33.90 that they have 00:25:33.93\00:25:35.83 so that when they have a new place to live, 00:25:35.86\00:25:38.07 they're reminded 00:25:38.10\00:25:39.73 that their friends from the Adventist church 00:25:39.77\00:25:41.80 came and helped them build a house that now is safe. 00:25:41.84\00:25:45.97 It's new, and it's clean for them to live 00:25:46.01\00:25:49.01 and to enjoy life. 00:25:49.04\00:25:50.38 And they are invited for, you know, community events, 00:25:50.45\00:25:53.52 they're invited for health seminar, 00:25:53.55\00:25:55.18 for evangelistic program. 00:25:55.22\00:25:57.12 And then, they cannot help but to share with everyone else 00:25:57.19\00:26:01.59 how good the Lord's been to them. 00:26:01.62\00:26:02.96 Amen. So you had a big project in Africa. 00:26:02.99\00:26:07.43 You mentioned the sweet lady who has named her son, 00:26:07.50\00:26:11.77 her firstborn son, after you. 00:26:11.80\00:26:14.17 Tell us the experience that you had in Africa 00:26:14.24\00:26:17.41 'cause I don't think they've ever seen a whirlwind 00:26:17.44\00:26:20.81 like Build and Restore International come through. 00:26:20.88\00:26:25.41 Yeah. So we came together with our team 00:26:25.45\00:26:28.42 and found a property where a lady 00:26:28.45\00:26:31.79 of one of our churches said, "Look, 00:26:31.82\00:26:34.06 I'm going to divide this property into two pieces. 00:26:34.09\00:26:37.13 You can have the left side, 00:26:37.16\00:26:39.36 I'm going to live on the right side." 00:26:39.39\00:26:41.40 So this parcel is available. 00:26:41.43\00:26:43.67 You guys can start and dig the foundation 00:26:43.70\00:26:46.60 and put the church up right here in this area. 00:26:46.63\00:26:49.34 So the local elder went to the chief of the town, 00:26:49.37\00:26:52.61 and they shook hands and said, "We're building a church." 00:26:52.64\00:26:54.64 And he said, "Go for it." 00:26:54.68\00:26:56.98 And that was our permitting. 00:26:57.05\00:27:00.25 That's great. 00:27:00.32\00:27:01.65 Once the permitting happened, we went to the store, 00:27:01.68\00:27:03.89 and I met a gentleman 00:27:03.92\00:27:05.72 that really began to ask a lot of questions like, 00:27:05.75\00:27:09.66 "Why are you here? What are you doing? 00:27:09.69\00:27:11.06 What is this building that you're doing?" 00:27:11.09\00:27:13.33 And so he was so impressed with the youth 00:27:13.40\00:27:16.77 that have come have traveled 00:27:16.80\00:27:18.13 from the United States to Africa to help 00:27:18.17\00:27:21.40 that he took time out of his day to come in 00:27:21.44\00:27:23.74 and to actually watch 00:27:23.81\00:27:25.14 and see how the building process happened. 00:27:25.17\00:27:27.18 And by God's grace, in 36 working days, 00:27:27.21\00:27:30.35 the church was built. 00:27:30.38\00:27:31.71 Yeah, we've got a couple of pictures 00:27:31.75\00:27:33.11 and the thing that amazes me is that when you said watch, 00:27:33.15\00:27:38.19 when you go over to some of these countries, 00:27:38.22\00:27:40.96 notice who's doing the work and who's standing around. 00:27:40.99\00:27:45.49 So the men are used to letting the women 00:27:45.53\00:27:48.03 dig the footings as they stand back. 00:27:48.06\00:27:50.80 How did you handle that situation 00:27:50.87\00:27:52.70 'cause you and your team are out there working? 00:27:52.73\00:27:54.77 Did you encourage the men to join you? 00:27:54.80\00:27:58.14 Yes, it was a process. 00:27:58.17\00:28:03.01 To me it was very awkward to stand 00:28:03.04\00:28:05.68 and watch an elderly lady that's much older than me 00:28:05.71\00:28:09.85 bent over with an axe, pickaxe 00:28:09.88\00:28:12.92 going at the foundation footing 00:28:12.95\00:28:14.76 when everybody else is just observing, 00:28:14.79\00:28:16.66 and so we began to round up the men and say, 00:28:16.73\00:28:19.19 "Listen, you can pick up a tool and help as well." 00:28:19.23\00:28:21.30 Amen. 00:28:21.33\00:28:22.66 And so it was a mindset change for them 00:28:22.70\00:28:26.47 because they're not used to that. 00:28:26.50\00:28:28.77 Even the pastor told me, "Well, I can't work 00:28:28.80\00:28:31.17 because the people walking by will see me working. 00:28:31.21\00:28:33.61 And as a pastor, 00:28:33.68\00:28:35.01 I'm not supposed to do manual labor." 00:28:35.04\00:28:37.28 And I said, "Oh, no, that's silly, 00:28:37.35\00:28:39.05 you can do manual labor." 00:28:39.08\00:28:40.42 It's good for you. It's good for your bones. 00:28:40.45\00:28:43.49 And a building, we've got another picture 00:28:43.52\00:28:46.99 of the completed church I believe, 00:28:47.06\00:28:48.89 so as this church, well, here you're going up. 00:28:48.92\00:28:52.03 This is a big church 00:28:52.06\00:28:54.00 and now we'll see the completed building. 00:28:54.03\00:28:56.77 This is the most beautiful church 00:28:56.80\00:28:59.17 or building probably in that whole community, 00:28:59.20\00:29:02.17 36 days, your team with some workers, 00:29:02.20\00:29:07.11 local workers finished this. 00:29:07.18\00:29:09.31 How long would it normally take them 00:29:09.34\00:29:11.15 to build a structure like that? 00:29:11.18\00:29:13.72 Usually it takes them about two years. 00:29:13.75\00:29:16.05 So see, I mean, there is I've noticed this 00:29:16.08\00:29:19.09 when I've traveled overseas, 00:29:19.12\00:29:20.49 even before I was in ministry just in the corporate world, 00:29:20.56\00:29:25.73 when I would be in Europe, 00:29:25.76\00:29:27.10 and you'd go to certain areas where it's like, 00:29:27.13\00:29:30.10 they're lucky to put in two to three 00:29:30.17\00:29:32.23 solid business working hours a day, 00:29:32.27\00:29:35.64 drove me nuts 'cause we are more used 00:29:35.67\00:29:38.27 to being productive and getting things done. 00:29:38.31\00:29:42.11 So when you're there, 00:29:42.14\00:29:45.58 you're not only doing physical construction 00:29:45.61\00:29:50.49 but you are training leaders, you're doing seminars, 00:29:50.52\00:29:54.62 you're reaching out to the people, 00:29:54.66\00:29:56.19 tell us about that. 00:29:56.22\00:29:57.56 Yes, we had an opportunity to work with three churches 00:29:57.63\00:30:00.73 in the area, and the desire was, 00:30:00.80\00:30:03.47 let's build a model for them to follow. 00:30:03.50\00:30:06.20 Let's give them enough tools to be sustainable 00:30:06.23\00:30:10.01 and to teach not only themselves 00:30:10.04\00:30:12.31 but their children and their community, 00:30:12.34\00:30:14.71 and so health presentations were very critical 00:30:14.74\00:30:16.88 because there's a lot of different issues 00:30:16.95\00:30:18.68 going on there with health, 00:30:18.71\00:30:20.52 and so we said we have to teach them about health. 00:30:20.55\00:30:23.59 Now it's one thing to tell somebody else 00:30:23.62\00:30:26.99 that you know how to do evangelism 00:30:27.06\00:30:28.79 but it's a different one when you go and teach them 00:30:28.82\00:30:30.93 how to do evangelism. 00:30:30.96\00:30:32.29 Yeah. 00:30:32.33\00:30:33.70 So that when you leave, 00:30:33.73\00:30:35.06 the work doesn't stop, the work continues. 00:30:35.10\00:30:37.00 And so we did training for all of the ladies, 00:30:37.07\00:30:39.70 and all of church members that would come out, 00:30:39.73\00:30:42.00 and different churches had different amounts, 00:30:42.04\00:30:43.81 30 people, 50 people coming out every evening, 00:30:43.84\00:30:47.11 and we would go through the simple principles 00:30:47.18\00:30:49.18 that we learned over Amazing Facts, 00:30:49.21\00:30:51.75 and we would share those same principles with the community, 00:30:51.78\00:30:54.85 and we will provide seminar notes, 00:30:54.88\00:30:57.49 we will provide PowerPoint presentations, 00:30:57.52\00:30:59.65 we left a laptop computer there and a projector... 00:30:59.69\00:31:01.82 Praise God. 00:31:01.86\00:31:03.19 So that there's no excuse that when we're gone 00:31:03.22\00:31:06.46 that you're not doing that seminar again 00:31:06.49\00:31:08.43 the following month, and the month after 00:31:08.46\00:31:10.40 until everybody is educated 00:31:10.47\00:31:12.90 and has the opportunity to now be empowered 00:31:12.93\00:31:16.14 to go and share their faith. 00:31:16.17\00:31:18.24 Praise the Lord. 00:31:18.27\00:31:19.71 You know, you've mentioned this two or three times 00:31:19.74\00:31:21.98 team, team, team. 00:31:22.01\00:31:25.05 So obviously, you're very team-oriented. 00:31:25.08\00:31:27.22 You keep using us of which I really appreciate. 00:31:27.25\00:31:32.19 What and who make up a team? 00:31:32.22\00:31:35.72 I mean, do you have one team 00:31:35.76\00:31:37.26 that goes with you all the time? 00:31:37.33\00:31:39.29 Do you have a group of volunteers? 00:31:39.33\00:31:41.93 Who is a team? who is this team that you're talking about? 00:31:41.96\00:31:45.50 Yes, every single group that goes out, 00:31:45.53\00:31:48.47 every single mission has its own team that we try to build 00:31:48.50\00:31:52.04 and they're ordinary people who love the Lord 00:31:52.07\00:31:54.48 and want to share their faith and they come with us 00:31:54.51\00:31:58.91 not knowing exactly all the components 00:31:58.95\00:32:01.25 of the mission trip 00:32:01.28\00:32:02.62 but knowing that they are going to go 00:32:02.65\00:32:03.99 and going to be flexible 00:32:04.02\00:32:05.35 to learn, to grow together, and to serve 00:32:05.39\00:32:08.16 and the beautiful thing that we want to see happen 00:32:08.19\00:32:11.49 is the older generation being able to witness 00:32:11.53\00:32:16.00 and mentor the younger generation 00:32:16.03\00:32:17.63 so we can pass on to the next generation. 00:32:17.67\00:32:21.67 So what you're saying, these are volunteers 00:32:21.70\00:32:23.91 and I want to go ahead, 00:32:23.94\00:32:25.27 and we're going to put 00:32:25.31\00:32:27.64 his website address up, 00:32:27.68\00:32:31.45 it is Build And Restore.org 00:32:31.48\00:32:37.69 because you can go... I have not seen the website yet 00:32:37.72\00:32:40.76 but you said it was a beautiful website. 00:32:40.79\00:32:42.62 - Yes, beautiful. - And you can go online. 00:32:42.66\00:32:46.63 And if you are an ordinary person 00:32:46.70\00:32:49.03 who wants to have an extraordinary experience 00:32:49.06\00:32:51.63 in the Lord, 00:32:51.67\00:32:53.00 you can go online and sign up to be a volunteer 00:32:53.03\00:32:56.17 and go on one of these projects, 00:32:56.20\00:32:58.64 and I promise you, 00:32:58.67\00:33:00.18 I mean, I can just almost guarantee you, 00:33:00.21\00:33:02.81 your life will be changed. 00:33:02.84\00:33:04.18 What caught my attention was go back to 2006, 00:33:04.25\00:33:08.88 10 years earlier at least, okay, 00:33:08.92\00:33:12.02 and you were ready for an exciting trip, 00:33:12.05\00:33:16.12 you didn't know where you were going, 00:33:16.16\00:33:17.53 you were just going to Mexico 00:33:17.56\00:33:18.89 and we're going to do something different. 00:33:18.93\00:33:21.40 And you had a few dollars in your pocket 00:33:21.43\00:33:24.30 and you're just frivolously spending it 00:33:24.33\00:33:25.87 because that's our way, 00:33:25.90\00:33:27.97 and then you get down and you have a major, 00:33:28.00\00:33:32.04 a major experience in your life 00:33:32.07\00:33:34.41 that was one of the premier 00:33:34.44\00:33:38.65 building blocks that you built your life on. 00:33:38.68\00:33:41.65 Here, now we're 10 years, 15 years later, 00:33:41.68\00:33:45.82 and you're still bringing now leading, 00:33:45.85\00:33:48.76 you're driving the bus 00:33:48.79\00:33:52.49 over here and bringing youth 00:33:52.53\00:33:55.66 that wanting their first experience. 00:33:55.70\00:33:58.33 So this is a major building block in their life. 00:33:58.37\00:34:02.10 They're getting to see the way that maybe some other people 00:34:02.14\00:34:05.27 that are just not as fortunate as we are. 00:34:05.31\00:34:07.18 - Yes. - Praise the Lord. 00:34:07.21\00:34:08.54 And I think that one thing that I picked up earlier 00:34:08.58\00:34:13.28 is your faith, 00:34:13.31\00:34:14.65 and as you started off, the Lord was speaking to you 00:34:16.42\00:34:19.15 and says, "Hey, I do have a plan for you." 00:34:19.19\00:34:23.73 Yes. 00:34:23.76\00:34:25.09 And you were listening. 00:34:25.13\00:34:26.46 And it takes a lot of faith to quit your job 00:34:26.49\00:34:29.13 that you got, 00:34:29.16\00:34:30.60 you know, I mean, you went through graduate school, 00:34:30.67\00:34:33.07 to just say, "Okay, Lord, here I am. 00:34:33.10\00:34:35.90 Send me. I'm answering that call." 00:34:35.94\00:34:37.61 That does take faith. 00:34:37.64\00:34:39.44 You're a single man. 00:34:39.47\00:34:41.64 Ladies, he's a single man. 00:34:41.68\00:34:43.95 If you are a mission-minded 00:34:43.98\00:34:46.92 Christian woman, 00:34:46.95\00:34:50.02 just putting that up there, but 00:34:50.09\00:34:54.42 you are experiencing joy 00:34:54.46\00:35:00.00 that you never knew before. 00:35:00.03\00:35:01.70 - Yes. - Yeah, Praise the Lord. 00:35:01.73\00:35:03.77 So tell us about Mexico. 00:35:03.80\00:35:06.84 You know, we head down to Mexico. 00:35:06.87\00:35:09.87 We're building different churches, 00:35:09.90\00:35:11.34 we're helping with different orphanages, 00:35:11.37\00:35:13.27 and it was a time really where you have 00:35:13.31\00:35:16.85 this sense of accomplishment, 00:35:16.88\00:35:18.78 you have this sense of, you know, "Lord, fill my cup" 00:35:18.81\00:35:22.45 and our cups were very full. 00:35:22.48\00:35:24.02 We saw different families coming and joining us 00:35:24.09\00:35:28.12 for the seminars, we had, 00:35:28.16\00:35:30.33 you know, a woman's group 00:35:30.36\00:35:31.69 that was meeting, asking questions, 00:35:31.73\00:35:33.06 "Well, how do you cook? How do you shop?" 00:35:33.09\00:35:35.13 We actually put together a shopping list and we... 00:35:35.16\00:35:37.27 What year was this that you went into Mexico? 00:35:37.30\00:35:40.34 We went in 2009, and also 2015. 00:35:40.37\00:35:44.31 And I think we've got some pictures 00:35:44.34\00:35:46.01 that you can maybe walk us through too. 00:35:46.04\00:35:47.38 Yes, and this happened in 2017, 00:35:47.41\00:35:49.88 and we went back again 2018 as well. 00:35:49.91\00:35:54.45 So we went two years to Mexico helping to build up this church 00:35:54.48\00:35:58.85 that was really trying their best 00:35:58.89\00:36:01.56 to build this church and just ran out of funds 00:36:01.59\00:36:03.76 and ran out of energy, 00:36:03.83\00:36:05.73 and so here you will see, you know, 00:36:05.76\00:36:07.50 the bathrooms being built, a pastor's room was being built 00:36:07.53\00:36:11.27 in the background there. 00:36:11.30\00:36:13.74 And this was a church of faith 'cause they had this shell up 00:36:13.77\00:36:16.60 and right before they ran up, 00:36:16.64\00:36:17.97 and they're actually having meetings 00:36:18.01\00:36:20.81 just within the walls of that shell. 00:36:20.88\00:36:23.35 So you all went down there, finished off the church, 00:36:23.38\00:36:27.12 but then we're able to start training them 00:36:27.15\00:36:29.78 how to be more successful in evangelism and revival. 00:36:29.82\00:36:34.26 Yes, so we follow that same model as we did in Africa, 00:36:34.29\00:36:37.23 where we said, okay, we've got to go in, 00:36:37.26\00:36:39.86 help them with their physical need, 00:36:39.89\00:36:41.53 which was the immediate building of their church, 00:36:41.56\00:36:44.47 but we also realize that they're holding seminars, 00:36:44.50\00:36:47.24 they're asking their guests 00:36:47.27\00:36:49.44 to bring a chair to church for a seminar 00:36:49.47\00:36:51.97 because there was just a floor there, 00:36:52.01\00:36:54.48 there's no furnishings. 00:36:54.51\00:36:56.41 And so, we're there. 00:36:56.44\00:36:58.61 We bring our laptop, our projector, 00:36:58.65\00:37:00.52 we put up just a regular cloth on the wall, 00:37:00.55\00:37:03.89 just enough to see the projection, 00:37:03.92\00:37:06.45 and we're sharing the Bible truth with them. 00:37:06.49\00:37:08.89 We're sharing the gospel and everybody's so excited, 00:37:08.92\00:37:12.29 people who are riding the bus, riding bicycles, 00:37:12.33\00:37:14.60 some came on horseback, 00:37:14.63\00:37:16.77 they're all excited about the seminar 00:37:16.80\00:37:19.37 and the church was just thriving. 00:37:19.40\00:37:21.07 And so communities like this just need a little support 00:37:21.10\00:37:25.61 from those that are here that are much more well to do. 00:37:25.64\00:37:29.58 And now they've got a church with over 80 people, 00:37:29.61\00:37:32.35 they've got beautiful services, the building has been finished, 00:37:32.38\00:37:37.19 chairs have been purchased, 00:37:37.22\00:37:38.55 you know, people have a safe, warm, comfortable place 00:37:38.59\00:37:40.86 to come and fellowship and worship 00:37:40.89\00:37:43.86 and now they're saying, Listen, we have to build a school. 00:37:43.93\00:37:47.33 Praise the Lord. 00:37:47.40\00:37:48.73 We need a school for the little ones, 00:37:48.76\00:37:50.40 and in that community, there are no schools available 00:37:50.47\00:37:54.77 for those that are Christian. 00:37:54.80\00:37:56.30 And so we want to go back in the future 00:37:56.34\00:37:59.04 and with the help of our supporters 00:37:59.07\00:38:01.04 and sponsors build another building on that same property, 00:38:01.08\00:38:04.88 that's going to be an Adventist school. 00:38:04.91\00:38:06.48 And I know, 00:38:06.51\00:38:08.55 you know, and may be you know somewhere at home, 00:38:08.58\00:38:11.32 maybe you know a church 00:38:11.35\00:38:13.76 that or a school that needs some help, 00:38:13.79\00:38:16.66 you can email them at 00:38:16.73\00:38:20.20 info@BuildAndRestore.org 00:38:20.23\00:38:25.47 info@BuildAndRestore.org, 00:38:25.50\00:38:30.14 and you can also go on their website, 00:38:30.21\00:38:32.94 BuildAndRestore.org, 00:38:32.97\00:38:34.81 and I'm sure you have the list of projects. 00:38:34.84\00:38:37.35 But you mentioned school, 00:38:37.38\00:38:38.88 and you told us earlier about a school in the states 00:38:38.91\00:38:42.52 that was getting ready to close down, 00:38:42.55\00:38:44.19 tell us that story about the wall that ceilings 00:38:44.22\00:38:47.76 that came in on that school. 00:38:47.79\00:38:50.93 So we found ourselves asking, "Lord, where do we go next? 00:38:50.96\00:38:54.66 How do we help 00:38:54.70\00:38:56.33 the immediate needs here at home?" 00:38:56.36\00:38:57.97 because it's always important 00:38:58.00\00:38:59.93 to take care of things at home as well. 00:38:59.97\00:39:02.47 And so we found the school down in Los Angeles 00:39:02.50\00:39:05.31 that was really in need of repairs, 00:39:05.34\00:39:07.71 And this was an Adventist Christian school, okay. 00:39:07.74\00:39:10.78 An Adventist academy and their dormitories, 00:39:10.85\00:39:15.88 you know, their facilities, their classrooms, 00:39:15.92\00:39:19.12 their chapel was really in need of repairs. 00:39:19.15\00:39:23.16 It hasn't been repaired in a long time 00:39:23.19\00:39:24.93 and because of that, 00:39:24.96\00:39:26.70 one of the storms 00:39:26.73\00:39:28.70 had completely gone through the roof 00:39:28.73\00:39:31.80 and soaked up the ceiling so much 00:39:31.83\00:39:34.04 that everything just collapsed one day. 00:39:34.07\00:39:37.01 And so they had just locked up the buildings, 00:39:37.04\00:39:38.64 and so we can't use them because they're damaged. 00:39:38.67\00:39:42.11 Well, the school didn't have any finances to repair, 00:39:42.14\00:39:44.61 and we came in and said, 00:39:44.65\00:39:47.12 "Well, we sure probably can figure this out." 00:39:47.15\00:39:50.39 So we went around, looked for sponsors, 00:39:50.42\00:39:53.15 looked for materials that were donated. 00:39:53.19\00:39:55.62 We found contractors and builders in the area 00:39:55.66\00:39:58.93 that said, "Listen, we have some carpet 00:39:58.96\00:40:02.73 that's been left over from a project, 00:40:02.76\00:40:04.97 you can use that there. 00:40:05.00\00:40:06.33 We have some tile, you can take that there 00:40:06.37\00:40:07.90 and use that there, We have some paint, 00:40:07.94\00:40:09.74 why don't you use it there at the school?" 00:40:09.77\00:40:11.31 and so using the resources we already have 00:40:11.34\00:40:15.31 that are available asking others around us to pitch in, 00:40:15.34\00:40:19.78 we brought all the material that we didn't have to buy. 00:40:19.81\00:40:22.78 Amen. And put ourselves to work. 00:40:22.82\00:40:25.55 In one week, the school was remodeled. 00:40:25.59\00:40:29.39 Glory to God. That's amazing. 00:40:29.42\00:40:31.96 And, you know, it didn't just help us feel accomplished 00:40:31.99\00:40:37.27 but what it did for that community 00:40:37.30\00:40:39.07 when the parents came the following Sunday 00:40:39.10\00:40:41.77 for the rededication of the chapel 00:40:41.80\00:40:43.91 for prayer on the school, there was tears in their eyes. 00:40:43.94\00:40:48.48 Amen. 00:40:48.51\00:40:49.84 So we can't believe that our children 00:40:49.88\00:40:51.38 now have a safe and clean school 00:40:51.41\00:40:54.15 to come and study, 00:40:54.22\00:40:55.85 and many of those children that come from the community 00:40:55.88\00:40:58.09 will hear about Jesus for the very first time 00:40:58.12\00:41:01.09 in their classroom. 00:41:01.12\00:41:02.46 Praise the Lord. So... 00:41:02.49\00:41:03.83 But is it a... Let me ask one quick question. 00:41:03.86\00:41:07.03 Instead of closing this school as they had thought 00:41:07.10\00:41:09.56 they were going have, is this school now thriving? 00:41:09.60\00:41:13.13 Yes, they've got a new principal, 00:41:13.17\00:41:14.90 they've got new staff, 00:41:14.94\00:41:16.27 the enrollment just about doubled since last time. 00:41:16.30\00:41:18.31 Praise the Lord. 00:41:18.34\00:41:19.84 And they're up and running. 00:41:19.87\00:41:21.21 Others have noticed the mission and vision of the school 00:41:21.24\00:41:24.75 have come in, have redone their parking lot 00:41:24.78\00:41:27.32 and have fixed other roofing needs that they had, 00:41:27.35\00:41:30.19 and so now they're up and running, and it's exciting. 00:41:30.22\00:41:32.72 Amen. 00:41:32.75\00:41:34.09 So what I was going to ask was, 00:41:34.16\00:41:37.33 many times, there's a lot of resources available, 00:41:37.36\00:41:40.40 you just need someone to organize. 00:41:40.43\00:41:42.36 Yes. 00:41:42.40\00:41:43.77 And now if somebody wanted to be a team member, 00:41:43.80\00:41:46.20 what do they do? 00:41:46.23\00:41:47.57 I mean, how do they... Do they call? 00:41:47.64\00:41:50.91 Do they just say, "Hey, here I am." 00:41:50.94\00:41:53.91 And then what's all that's involved? 00:41:53.98\00:41:56.75 Do they need any expertise? 00:41:56.78\00:41:59.35 Yes, we have a fairly simple process 00:41:59.38\00:42:02.18 where we ask folks to email us a project requests 00:42:02.22\00:42:06.76 so that we can better understand 00:42:06.79\00:42:08.12 what the needs are with some pictures 00:42:08.16\00:42:09.86 and explanations and, you know, scope of work and... 00:42:09.89\00:42:12.43 So they do email 00:42:12.46\00:42:14.00 at info@BuildAndRepair.org. 00:42:14.03\00:42:18.90 Yes, info@BuildAndRestore.org. 00:42:18.93\00:42:21.84 Build and Restore, I'm sorry, dot org. 00:42:21.87\00:42:24.31 And we'll get that in our mailbox, 00:42:24.34\00:42:27.21 and we'll go through and see how we can connect volunteers 00:42:27.28\00:42:30.78 to help with that need. 00:42:30.85\00:42:32.61 Now there are others that say, "Well, we've got a need, 00:42:32.65\00:42:35.52 we've got the material, but we just don't know 00:42:35.55\00:42:37.65 how to do the work" 00:42:37.69\00:42:39.22 or "We have nobody to coordinate the work." 00:42:39.25\00:42:41.46 And so that's another, 00:42:41.49\00:42:42.99 you know, aspect of our ministry. 00:42:43.02\00:42:44.36 We can bring a few people 00:42:44.39\00:42:46.19 that will just manage and coordinate the needed work 00:42:46.23\00:42:50.00 and that saves the local church a lot of time 00:42:50.07\00:42:52.17 and resources and funding 00:42:52.20\00:42:54.14 where they can just have a project finished real quick. 00:42:54.17\00:42:56.30 All right, but to your question, 00:42:56.34\00:42:57.67 do I think what JD was asking 00:42:57.71\00:42:59.14 is let's say you had mentioned earlier, 00:42:59.17\00:43:01.71 you don't have to have special talents. 00:43:01.74\00:43:04.58 I mean, you've got a number, 00:43:04.61\00:43:07.32 a variety of different types of projects. 00:43:07.35\00:43:10.92 Let's say, I'm an ordinary Christian mother 00:43:10.99\00:43:13.79 sitting at home, 00:43:13.86\00:43:15.19 and I've got a couple of teenagers that I'm thinking, 00:43:15.22\00:43:18.09 "Boy, I'd like for them to go on something like this." 00:43:18.13\00:43:20.80 Just go to your website, BuildAndRestore.org, 00:43:20.83\00:43:25.40 and there's something there that we can, like, 00:43:25.43\00:43:29.40 do you have a list of projects, 00:43:29.44\00:43:30.81 and then they can just put their information in 00:43:30.84\00:43:33.61 to become a volunteer to go?
