Amen. 00:06:56.41\00:06:57.75 Let that be our prayer is that God's will remove everything 00:06:57.78\00:07:01.65 that is not pleasing to Him. 00:07:01.68\00:07:03.49 Amen. 00:07:03.52\00:07:04.85 And replace it with His love. Praise God. 00:07:04.89\00:07:06.22 Ryan, I'm excited about today's study. 00:07:06.25\00:07:08.29 Oh, me too. 00:07:08.32\00:07:09.66 And what I think we got to do is let's just back up 00:07:09.69\00:07:11.53 and why don't we begin in Exodus Chapter 25? 00:07:11.56\00:07:16.13 Absolutely. 00:07:16.16\00:07:17.50 And let's look at Exodus 25:8-9. 00:07:17.57\00:07:21.94 Yes. And I'll let you read that. 00:07:21.97\00:07:24.24 But this is the purpose of the sanctuary. 00:07:24.31\00:07:30.58 So Exodus 25:8-9. 00:07:30.65\00:07:33.55 Yes. 00:07:33.62\00:07:34.95 Says, "And let them make Me a sanctuary, 00:07:34.98\00:07:36.48 that I may dwell among them. 00:07:36.52\00:07:39.79 According to all that I show you, 00:07:39.82\00:07:42.12 that is, the pattern of the tabernacle 00:07:42.16\00:07:44.13 and the pattern of all its furnishings, 00:07:44.16\00:07:47.00 just so you shall make it. 00:07:47.03\00:07:48.76 Amen. 00:07:48.80\00:07:50.17 So here we've got a covenant keeping God 00:07:50.20\00:07:53.03 who announced in Genesis 3:15 00:07:53.07\00:07:56.30 that there was going to be one 00:07:56.34\00:07:58.54 who would stomp the head, crush the head of the serpent. 00:07:58.57\00:08:03.45 Everybody is expecting a Messiah to come. 00:08:03.48\00:08:08.05 But when God wants, when it comes time, 00:08:08.08\00:08:11.92 what has been His desire always? 00:08:11.95\00:08:15.02 He wants to be with us. He wants to dwell. 00:08:15.06\00:08:16.73 He wants to dwell among His people. 00:08:16.76\00:08:18.93 Yeah. 00:08:18.96\00:08:20.30 So, you know what I love about the sanctuary? 00:08:20.33\00:08:22.53 And this is how God got my attention, 00:08:22.56\00:08:24.57 by the way, this is how He changed my life 00:08:24.60\00:08:28.87 through a study on the sanctuary. 00:08:28.90\00:08:31.34 There are three compartments of the sanctuary if you will, 00:08:31.37\00:08:37.68 and they represent the three different phases 00:08:37.71\00:08:40.95 of Jesus' ministry, 00:08:40.98\00:08:42.62 and the three different phases of our salvation. 00:08:42.65\00:08:46.76 You wanna tell? Absolutely, yeah. 00:08:46.79\00:08:48.12 So obviously, you... 00:08:48.16\00:08:50.53 We're gonna go through this, 00:08:50.56\00:08:51.89 but you have to start first at the door. 00:08:51.93\00:08:54.73 The ministry of the sanctuary always begins 00:08:54.76\00:08:57.37 at the door of the tabernacle, 00:08:57.40\00:08:59.53 and so obviously, Christ is that door. 00:08:59.57\00:09:03.71 The Bible says that He, Jesus said, "I am the door." 00:09:03.74\00:09:06.57 Anyone who tries to go in any other way 00:09:06.61\00:09:09.11 is a thief and a robber. 00:09:09.14\00:09:10.58 And so if we are to enter at that door, 00:09:10.65\00:09:12.88 we are entering, obviously, into Christ's way 00:09:12.91\00:09:15.45 because as you mentioned earlier, 00:09:15.48\00:09:16.99 Psalm 77:13 says, 00:09:17.02\00:09:19.05 "Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary." 00:09:19.09\00:09:22.26 And so once you get into that door, 00:09:22.29\00:09:23.93 you get into the courtyard, you get into the courtyard, 00:09:23.96\00:09:26.80 and like unto Christ ministry, 00:09:26.83\00:09:28.53 Christ spent His time with us here on earth in the court, 00:09:28.56\00:09:32.53 you know, that would represent the courtyard experience. 00:09:32.57\00:09:34.94 We also must go through 00:09:34.97\00:09:36.74 and have a courtyard experience. 00:09:36.81\00:09:39.01 And, of course, those two articles of furniture 00:09:39.04\00:09:40.51 that we find in the courtyard 00:09:40.58\00:09:41.91 is the altar of burnt offerings, 00:09:41.94\00:09:44.38 and, of course, the laver 00:09:44.41\00:09:45.75 which again points to Christ's ministry, 00:09:45.78\00:09:47.95 as well as the experience that a Christian should have. 00:09:47.98\00:09:50.79 And then you get into the... 00:09:50.82\00:09:52.15 That's the experience of just that's the case. 00:09:52.19\00:09:53.86 Absolutely, absolutely. Okay. 00:09:53.89\00:09:55.46 And so, then we go 00:09:55.49\00:09:56.93 into the holy place, which, of course, 00:09:56.96\00:09:59.03 has three articles of furniture. 00:09:59.06\00:10:00.90 We have on the far right side if you were to go 00:10:00.93\00:10:03.40 through the door of the holy place, 00:10:03.47\00:10:05.03 on the far right side is the table of showbread, 00:10:05.07\00:10:07.47 which again points to Christ is the living Word of God. 00:10:07.54\00:10:10.21 He said, that you shall have, excuse me, 00:10:10.24\00:10:13.68 "Man shall not live by bread alone, 00:10:13.71\00:10:15.04 but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." 00:10:15.08\00:10:17.95 And, of course, Christ is the bread of life. 00:10:17.98\00:10:19.51 So that points to Christ's ministry, 00:10:19.55\00:10:21.15 and we also should eat of that bread daily. 00:10:21.18\00:10:23.69 So that's an experience that we should experience. 00:10:23.72\00:10:25.62 We'll go into detail probably about that 00:10:25.65\00:10:26.99 in just a few moments. 00:10:27.06\00:10:28.39 But then right across from the table of showbread, 00:10:28.42\00:10:30.13 obviously is the seven-branched candlestick 00:10:30.16\00:10:33.26 which points to Christ as the light in the world, 00:10:33.29\00:10:35.83 it also represents the work of the Holy Spirit 00:10:35.86\00:10:38.47 in our life each and every day 00:10:38.50\00:10:39.83 as that oil had to be present for their light to burn. 00:10:39.87\00:10:43.24 We must also have that oil of the Holy Spirit in our life 00:10:43.27\00:10:46.98 on a daily basis that Christ light 00:10:47.01\00:10:49.11 and His righteousness can shine from us. 00:10:49.14\00:10:51.95 Then we move closer to the dividing veil 00:10:51.98\00:10:54.65 of the tabernacle. 00:10:54.68\00:10:56.02 And, of course, right before that veil 00:10:56.05\00:10:57.39 is the altar of incense, and, of course, 00:10:57.42\00:10:59.32 that would represent our prayers 00:10:59.35\00:11:01.66 ascending to Christ as He is our intercessor 00:11:01.69\00:11:04.86 in the heavenly throne room above 00:11:04.89\00:11:06.43 that as we pray and we open our conversation 00:11:06.46\00:11:10.37 in our lives to Him in prayer, 00:11:10.40\00:11:11.93 He receives that prayer. 00:11:11.97\00:11:13.74 Christ as the Book of Hebrews says, "Is the High Priest. 00:11:13.77\00:11:17.24 He is the great intercessor." 00:11:17.31\00:11:19.31 He was an intercessory figure while He was here on earth, 00:11:19.34\00:11:22.68 and He is still that intercessory 00:11:22.71\00:11:24.45 figure as High Priest, 00:11:24.48\00:11:25.81 now in the heavenly courts above. 00:11:25.85\00:11:27.32 Amen. 00:11:27.35\00:11:28.68 But if you go through that veil, obviously, 00:11:28.72\00:11:30.39 you get into what's called the Most Holy Place, 00:11:30.42\00:11:33.22 one article of furniture, the Ark of the Covenant. 00:11:33.25\00:11:37.79 And, of course, inside that Ark of the Covenant 00:11:37.83\00:11:40.60 was God's holy covenant laws, 00:11:40.63\00:11:43.20 The Ten Commandments on those tablets of stone, 00:11:43.23\00:11:46.17 which represents God's holy character, 00:11:46.20\00:11:49.24 and that is the ultimate goal. 00:11:49.27\00:11:50.61 We wanna have that most holy place experience, Shelley, 00:11:50.64\00:11:54.18 in which God's character is replicated inside us 00:11:54.21\00:11:57.35 that when we walk inside that most holy place, 00:11:57.38\00:12:00.62 as we're having that most holy place experience 00:12:00.65\00:12:02.55 we were brought into the very presence of God 00:12:02.58\00:12:05.15 because God's glory resided above the mercy seat 00:12:05.19\00:12:09.42 where that Ark of the Covenant was. 00:12:09.46\00:12:11.16 You know, what amazes me is that many people feel like, 00:12:11.19\00:12:14.90 "Well, the sanctuary is Old Testament. 00:12:14.93\00:12:16.70 We don't need to know it." 00:12:16.77\00:12:18.10 But this is, you know, 00:12:18.13\00:12:19.47 when God told them make Me a sanctuary, 00:12:19.50\00:12:22.50 according to the pattern that I will show you. 00:12:22.54\00:12:25.17 He's referring, of course, Hebrews 8:5 says 00:12:25.21\00:12:27.78 that it was just a copy and a shadow 00:12:27.81\00:12:30.28 of what's in the heavenly places. 00:12:30.35\00:12:32.38 But in my estimation, 00:12:32.41\00:12:34.45 here's how I figure it is that 00:12:34.48\00:12:36.79 when God delivered the Hebrew children from Egypt 00:12:36.82\00:12:43.02 out of the slavery, you know, the bondage of slavery, 00:12:43.06\00:12:47.13 a lot of them could not read. 00:12:47.20\00:12:49.66 So what God did 00:12:49.70\00:12:51.40 is He gave this pattern of this sanctuary. 00:12:51.43\00:12:54.47 Right. 00:12:54.50\00:12:55.84 Because every element of the sanctuary, 00:12:55.87\00:12:57.81 the courtyard was 150x75 feet 00:12:57.84\00:13:01.18 covered with linen hangings. 00:13:01.21\00:13:04.05 And did you know that 00:13:04.08\00:13:05.61 what those linen hanging, the curtains did? 00:13:05.65\00:13:09.05 Was veiled the presence of God. 00:13:09.08\00:13:12.92 And, you know, think about this 00:13:12.95\00:13:15.02 Christ's flesh veiled His divinity. 00:13:15.06\00:13:19.33 That's right. 00:13:19.36\00:13:20.70 So when they came in, 00:13:20.73\00:13:23.67 there was no way to shortcut 00:13:23.70\00:13:26.57 going through the courtyard experience. 00:13:26.60\00:13:28.50 That's right. Absolutely. 00:13:28.54\00:13:30.41 And when we talk about the altar of burnt offering, 00:13:30.44\00:13:34.44 here's the thought that really grabbed me. 00:13:34.48\00:13:37.38 When you see the blood stained exterior of that altar, 00:13:37.45\00:13:42.65 it shows us the seriousness of sin, 00:13:42.68\00:13:45.99 and that our sins deserve the wrath of God, 00:13:46.02\00:13:51.19 but on that altar 00:13:51.23\00:13:53.33 is where they gave a substitute. 00:13:53.40\00:13:57.07 And this is all part of God's plan. 00:13:57.10\00:13:59.50 It's, you know, 00:13:59.53\00:14:00.87 salvation by grace through faith 00:14:00.94\00:14:03.30 that He was pointing the lamb that they offered there 00:14:03.34\00:14:08.18 pointed to the Lamb of God, 00:14:08.21\00:14:10.45 who was slain from the foundation of the earth 00:14:10.48\00:14:13.05 is what Revelation 13:8 says. 00:14:13.08\00:14:15.28 Absolutely. 00:14:15.32\00:14:16.69 But think about this. 00:14:16.72\00:14:18.42 So as they see that, 00:14:18.45\00:14:21.32 now they see the smoke ascending, 00:14:21.36\00:14:24.13 which was a manifestation 00:14:24.16\00:14:26.36 of God's grace and mercy knowing, 00:14:26.39\00:14:31.17 and they knew a Messiah was coming. 00:14:31.20\00:14:34.30 So they knew what this pointed to. 00:14:34.34\00:14:37.21 And when you think about the seriousness of sin that, 00:14:37.24\00:14:43.85 you know, explain what happened 00:14:43.88\00:14:46.08 when they brought a little lamb in? 00:14:46.11\00:14:47.55 Absolutely. 00:14:47.62\00:14:48.95 So and I just wanna just for a moment, 00:14:48.98\00:14:51.45 before we get right into those details, 00:14:51.49\00:14:53.05 I just wanna emphasize the fact 00:14:53.09\00:14:54.52 that the sanctuary is obviously, 00:14:54.56\00:14:56.93 it's a progressive experience... 00:14:56.96\00:14:58.43 Absolutely. 00:14:58.46\00:15:00.13 Into kind of illustrate that or compare it to something. 00:15:00.20\00:15:04.10 It's kind of like the three angels' messages. 00:15:04.17\00:15:06.47 There's a first, second, and the third angel's message. 00:15:06.50\00:15:09.34 And if you try to take those out of order 00:15:09.37\00:15:11.44 or you try to teach them, comprehend them out of order, 00:15:11.47\00:15:14.28 you're doing yourself a disservice 00:15:14.31\00:15:15.64 because there's a progression 00:15:15.68\00:15:17.45 to the first, second, and third angel's message. 00:15:17.48\00:15:19.68 First, the first angel's message, 00:15:19.71\00:15:21.05 then comes the second angel's message, 00:15:21.08\00:15:22.68 which is the response from the first angel's message, 00:15:22.72\00:15:25.42 and as well as the third as well. 00:15:25.45\00:15:26.99 And you're talking about from Revelation Chapter 14. 00:15:27.06\00:15:28.69 I'm talking about from Revelation Chapter 14 00:15:28.72\00:15:30.83 where we find the first, second, 00:15:30.86\00:15:32.26 and third angel's message 00:15:32.29\00:15:33.63 which are delivered to the entire world. 00:15:33.70\00:15:35.03 I'm using that as an example because again, 00:15:35.06\00:15:37.67 the Book of Revelation, Genesis, Exodus 00:15:37.70\00:15:40.07 all the way through the Bible, 00:15:40.14\00:15:41.47 we find this sanctuary language, 00:15:41.50\00:15:43.27 we find that there's this theme 00:15:43.30\00:15:45.84 of the sanctuary constantly reappearing 00:15:45.87\00:15:49.58 and is shown to us all throughout Scripture. 00:15:49.61\00:15:52.01 God is showing us the sanctuary as a blueprint of His way. 00:15:52.05\00:15:55.68 Amen. 00:15:55.72\00:15:57.09 He said thy, again, Psalm 77:13, 00:15:57.12\00:15:59.19 "Thy way, O Lord, is in the sanctuary." 00:15:59.22\00:16:02.52 Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." 00:16:02.56\00:16:06.39 So Christ is in the sanctuary. 00:16:06.43\00:16:08.90 And, of course, we know the Book of Isaiah 53, 00:16:08.93\00:16:11.60 I think verse 6 tells us that, 00:16:11.63\00:16:13.94 "All we like sheep have gone astray, 00:16:13.97\00:16:16.47 every man has went his own way." 00:16:16.50\00:16:19.34 And so when we get lost in our own way, 00:16:19.37\00:16:21.68 we kind of need a blueprint, or a GPS, or a map 00:16:21.71\00:16:24.68 to point us back into the way of Christ. 00:16:24.71\00:16:27.42 And so here we are, 00:16:27.45\00:16:28.85 we know we're lost, we need Jesus. 00:16:28.88\00:16:32.22 But Christ has a specific pattern. 00:16:32.25\00:16:34.29 He has a specific way of progressive experience 00:16:34.32\00:16:37.99 that He wants to almost like a parent taking their child 00:16:38.03\00:16:41.16 by the hand and saying, 00:16:41.20\00:16:42.53 "Follow me, let me take you through my way." 00:16:42.56\00:16:44.83 And so a sinner who wants forgiveness, 00:16:44.87\00:16:47.64 a sinner who sees their need of God 00:16:47.67\00:16:50.31 who has hit rock bottom and they say, 00:16:50.34\00:16:52.04 "You know what, I need a savior." 00:16:52.07\00:16:55.28 How it would work in the Old Testament 00:16:55.31\00:16:56.95 before Christ became that ultimate antitype? 00:16:56.98\00:17:02.05 How it be in the Old Testament 00:17:02.08\00:17:04.35 if you wanted forgiveness, Shelley? 00:17:04.39\00:17:06.76 The closest tent to the sanctuary 00:17:06.79\00:17:10.13 was about a half a mile. 00:17:10.16\00:17:11.66 And they would have to take a lamb, or goat, 00:17:11.69\00:17:15.03 or a dove or of some sort, 00:17:15.06\00:17:17.07 it had to be without spot or blemish. 00:17:17.10\00:17:19.83 They would have to take that live animal 00:17:19.87\00:17:22.30 and they would walk it, that I call it, 00:17:22.34\00:17:25.37 it's not in the Bible, but I call it that, 00:17:25.41\00:17:27.01 it had to been that half mile walk of shame 00:17:27.08\00:17:29.24 'cause you feel shameful. 00:17:29.28\00:17:30.88 Because you're having everyone you can imagine, 00:17:30.95\00:17:32.68 everyone looking and seeing you walk into the sanctuary, 00:17:32.71\00:17:35.15 then people knew all of it, 00:17:35.18\00:17:36.58 there's a sinner, sinner walking, you know. 00:17:36.62\00:17:39.05 And so, you walk and you find yourself 00:17:39.09\00:17:41.69 at the door of the tabernacle. 00:17:41.72\00:17:43.53 We might have a graphic for this 00:17:43.56\00:17:45.23 where you can kind of see, there it is, beautiful. 00:17:45.26\00:17:47.50 Right there you see the door and it's in, of course, 00:17:47.53\00:17:50.77 that point right there at the door. 00:17:50.80\00:17:53.03 The priest would meet the sinner 00:17:53.07\00:17:55.00 at the door of the sanctuary. 00:17:55.04\00:17:57.21 And then you would commence 00:17:57.24\00:17:58.57 to take the life of that animal, 00:17:58.61\00:18:01.51 but before you would take the life of that animal, 00:18:01.54\00:18:03.45 you would pray and confess your sins 00:18:03.48\00:18:05.78 into that animal, 00:18:05.81\00:18:07.62 signifying that now the record of sin 00:18:07.65\00:18:10.09 has went from the sinner to the animal 00:18:10.12\00:18:12.45 and into the animal's blood 00:18:12.49\00:18:13.86 because the Bible says 00:18:13.89\00:18:15.22 that the life of that animal is in the blood. 00:18:15.26\00:18:17.53 So now they would probably take a knife of some sort, 00:18:17.56\00:18:21.60 and he would cut the throat of that animal, 00:18:21.63\00:18:23.80 the blood would spew. 00:18:23.87\00:18:25.43 And then the priestly figure would catch that blood 00:18:25.47\00:18:28.90 and then some type of sins or blood or bold of some sort. 00:18:28.94\00:18:32.91 And then, of course, that blood would be taken 00:18:32.94\00:18:35.11 into the sanctuary. 00:18:35.14\00:18:38.35 But how does this picture God's plan of salvation? 00:18:38.38\00:18:41.92 Absolutely. 00:18:41.95\00:18:43.42 Explain how that is? 00:18:43.49\00:18:44.82 Obviously, that lamb, 00:18:44.85\00:18:46.29 we're just gonna use the lamb for example, 00:18:46.32\00:18:47.66 that lamb would represent 00:18:47.69\00:18:49.22 obviously the Lamb of God 00:18:49.26\00:18:50.66 who takes away the sin of the world, right? 00:18:50.73\00:18:52.06 I think of John 1:29. You know, "Behold! 00:18:52.09\00:18:55.30 The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" 00:18:55.33\00:18:58.07 We know that God makes it very clear that 00:18:58.10\00:19:00.64 from the foundation of the world, 00:19:00.67\00:19:02.94 Christ was that lamb. 00:19:02.97\00:19:04.34 Christ became that sacrificial figure 00:19:04.37\00:19:08.11 that would take upon the sins of the world upon Himself 00:19:08.14\00:19:10.95 that we might be saved. 00:19:10.98\00:19:12.31 And so when that person 00:19:12.35\00:19:13.72 was taking the life of that animal 00:19:13.75\00:19:15.22 that was a type of Christ. 00:19:15.25\00:19:18.05 It was to point forward to the ultimate sacrifice 00:19:18.09\00:19:21.16 that Christ would give for all of humanity. 00:19:21.19\00:19:23.73 And by doing that, by going through that act, 00:19:23.76\00:19:26.90 you are humbling yourself to recognize 00:19:26.93\00:19:29.03 that you need a savior. 00:19:29.06\00:19:30.67 So basically, when they came to the... 00:19:30.70\00:19:33.47 to give and let the lamb become their substitute. 00:19:33.54\00:19:37.87 Absolutely. 00:19:37.91\00:19:39.24 Did the altar of burnt offering 00:19:39.27\00:19:40.98 was synonymous with the New Testament, 00:19:41.01\00:19:43.14 the cross of Jesus Christ? 00:19:43.18\00:19:44.51 Absolutely, absolutely. 00:19:44.55\00:19:45.88 So they were at the foot of the cross. 00:19:45.91\00:19:48.45 And we use this word justification, 00:19:48.48\00:19:51.49 but maybe you don't know what that means at home. 00:19:51.52\00:19:53.96 What does justification mean? 00:19:53.99\00:19:56.02 So justification is basically 00:19:56.06\00:19:58.49 God's divine providence upon you, 00:19:58.53\00:20:01.23 it's basically God's favor Him saying, 00:20:01.26\00:20:04.93 "You are declared justified, 00:20:04.97\00:20:06.30 you are pardoned for your sins." 00:20:06.33\00:20:08.54 See and that's, it's a forensic term. 00:20:08.57\00:20:11.24 Oh, absolutely. 00:20:11.27\00:20:12.61 You know, so what happened was, the blood covers your sinning 00:20:12.64\00:20:16.34 and when God looks at your record 00:20:16.38\00:20:19.21 you have accepted Christ as your Savior. 00:20:19.25\00:20:21.42 If you've confessed your sin, 00:20:21.45\00:20:23.18 He looks at your record and there's nothing, 00:20:23.22\00:20:25.35 it's blotted out so He, it is a legal term 00:20:25.39\00:20:29.89 that He declares you pardoned, 00:20:29.92\00:20:33.50 you're acquitted, you are no longer... 00:20:33.53\00:20:36.77 Absolutely. 00:20:36.80\00:20:38.33 Worthy of death. So, okay. 00:20:38.37\00:20:40.44 So in light of the sanctuary, it's interesting 00:20:40.47\00:20:42.84 because once the sinner 00:20:42.87\00:20:46.57 had now confessed their sins into that animal 00:20:46.61\00:20:49.38 and taken that animal's life, they walk away forgiven, 00:20:49.41\00:20:52.78 they walk away their part is finished. 00:20:52.81\00:20:56.79 Now the intercessory figure, 00:20:56.82\00:20:58.85 the priesthood would now carry out the work 00:20:58.89\00:21:02.79 that would need to be done 00:21:02.82\00:21:04.16 in order to deal with the record of that sin, 00:21:04.23\00:21:05.83 and we know Christ is our great intercessor, 00:21:05.86\00:21:08.10 Christ does a work in us. 00:21:08.13\00:21:09.46 Amen. 00:21:09.50\00:21:10.87 And again, as we go through this sanctuary, 00:21:10.90\00:21:12.23 we see that obviously the work in our life 00:21:12.27\00:21:15.07 does not cease at the door, 00:21:15.10\00:21:17.41 although there's a lot of people that believe that 00:21:17.44\00:21:18.94 and I wanna emphasize that strongly. 00:21:18.97\00:21:20.98 A lot of people believe that just by simply saying a prayer 00:21:21.01\00:21:23.38 and saying, oh, Lord, you know, forgive me of my sins, 00:21:23.45\00:21:25.65 I accept, you know, they're at the burnt offering, 00:21:25.68\00:21:27.92 the altar of burnt offering, 00:21:27.95\00:21:29.28 which would signify or represent, 00:21:29.32\00:21:31.25 you know, the cross Christ on the cross, 00:21:31.29\00:21:33.46 as they would place that lamb upon the burnt offering, 00:21:33.49\00:21:35.86 and they would offer it as a sacrifice 00:21:35.89\00:21:37.56 that would serve to represent Christ 00:21:37.63\00:21:39.13 on the cross lifted up high, as He said, 00:21:39.16\00:21:42.13 "If I will draw all men into myself if I be lifted up." 00:21:42.16\00:21:45.20 So Christ is that sacrifice but many people's experience, 00:21:45.23\00:21:48.14 Shelley, stop right there. 00:21:48.17\00:21:49.87 They walk away as the sinner would, 00:21:49.90\00:21:52.11 but the work that God wants to do in you does not start, 00:21:52.14\00:21:56.14 begin and end at the foot of the cross 00:21:56.18\00:21:58.78 or at that particular altar of sacrifice. 00:21:58.81\00:22:01.55 There is a continual, wonderful sanctifying work 00:22:01.58\00:22:04.59 that God wants to continue in our life, 00:22:04.62\00:22:06.59 which is represented by the progressiveness 00:22:06.62\00:22:09.52 of the sanctuary as you continue to go 00:22:09.56\00:22:11.66 all the way through. 00:22:11.69\00:22:13.03 So when we think about that, 00:22:13.06\00:22:14.40 before we jump into and will, don't let me forget, 00:22:14.43\00:22:17.30 we need to explain sanctification. 00:22:17.37\00:22:19.70 But once you, 00:22:19.73\00:22:21.64 when you walk through the door of the sanctuary, 00:22:21.67\00:22:23.81 you see that altar of burnt offering 00:22:23.84\00:22:26.57 that's about halfway between. 00:22:26.61\00:22:29.24 It's out in the courtyard, and it's about halfway 00:22:29.28\00:22:31.98 between the door and then the holy place, 00:22:32.01\00:22:35.55 which the two compartments that were going further, 00:22:35.58\00:22:39.72 but there's also this laver. 00:22:39.75\00:22:42.19 Yes. 00:22:42.22\00:22:43.56 And the laver was made of bronze. 00:22:43.63\00:22:45.36 It was from the mirrors that the women 00:22:45.39\00:22:48.90 had brought out of Egypt. 00:22:48.93\00:22:50.67 I think of that as a reflection pull somewhat, 00:22:50.70\00:22:54.60 and let me explain what I'm saying. 00:22:54.64\00:22:57.01 To me, the laver, 00:22:57.04\00:22:58.61 the priest went daily to wash their hands and feet 00:22:58.64\00:23:02.71 after they'd finish this work before they could, 00:23:02.74\00:23:06.58 you know, they've received the sacrificial blood. 00:23:06.61\00:23:09.52 Before they would go further, 00:23:09.55\00:23:11.52 they would wash their hands and their feet 00:23:11.55\00:23:15.16 and make sure there were no spots on them. 00:23:15.19\00:23:17.73 And, of course, you think of the laver as what, 00:23:17.76\00:23:21.60 it became what was it called, 00:23:21.63\00:23:23.00 the Sea when it was in Solomon's temple. 00:23:23.03\00:23:26.47 The laver represents baptism, but more than baptism, 00:23:26.50\00:23:30.97 and let me say this, 00:23:31.01\00:23:33.04 when these outer court experience 00:23:33.07\00:23:36.11 isn't just a onetime thing 00:23:36.14\00:23:38.55 that you've confessed your sins. 00:23:38.58\00:23:40.42 1 John 1:9. 00:23:40.45\00:23:44.32 1 John 1:9 says that 00:23:44.35\00:23:47.69 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just 00:23:47.72\00:23:52.63 to forgive us our sins and," what? 00:23:52.66\00:23:55.10 "To cleanse us of all unrighteousness." 00:23:55.13\00:23:58.57 Right. 00:23:58.60\00:23:59.93 So we see that the altar, this was Jesus the cross. 00:23:59.97\00:24:04.81 But then when we go to the... 00:24:04.84\00:24:06.98 The laver. 00:24:07.01\00:24:08.34 The laver, it's Jesus as our cleanser. 00:24:08.38\00:24:11.61 That's right. 00:24:11.65\00:24:12.98 And it is a daily thing. 00:24:13.01\00:24:14.58 I think, you know, one time I was giving a series 00:24:14.62\00:24:18.32 and I made a comment that, "Oh, I repent daily." 00:24:18.35\00:24:21.06 And this guy came up to me and said, 00:24:21.09\00:24:23.29 it was a non-denominational, all right. 00:24:23.32\00:24:25.23 And he said, 00:24:25.26\00:24:26.59 "Well, you don't understand justification." 00:24:26.63\00:24:29.36 And I said, "Yeah, I do. 00:24:29.40\00:24:30.77 But I also know that I'm not without sin." 00:24:30.80\00:24:32.80 That's right. 00:24:32.83\00:24:34.17 So this was and is the first phase 00:24:34.24\00:24:38.87 before you go forward into the holy place, 00:24:38.91\00:24:43.21 which is we'll talk about that sanctification. 00:24:43.24\00:24:47.22 Let me say this so I don't forget. 00:24:47.25\00:24:49.85 Sure. 00:24:49.88\00:24:51.32 Sometimes, people as you said, 00:24:51.35\00:24:54.62 think that they can walk to the altar and turn around, 00:24:54.66\00:24:57.76 go to the cross and turn around and live like the devil. 00:24:57.79\00:25:00.60 Sure. 00:25:00.63\00:25:01.96 That's not God's plan. 00:25:02.00\00:25:03.37 First phase is justification. 00:25:03.40\00:25:05.27 The second phase was pictured in the holy place, 00:25:05.30\00:25:09.40 and we'll talk about those items. 00:25:09.44\00:25:11.34 But sanctification, 00:25:11.37\00:25:13.48 Jesus came not just to cleanse us of sin, 00:25:13.51\00:25:17.35 but to separate us from sin. 00:25:17.38\00:25:19.11 That's right. 00:25:19.15\00:25:20.52 And that's what sanctification is to separation from sin. 00:25:20.55\00:25:23.99 And it's a lifelong process. It takes time. 00:25:24.02\00:25:27.56 So let's talk about those articles, 00:25:27.59\00:25:29.79 start with the table of showbread. 00:25:29.82\00:25:31.76 Absolutely, well, I want to back up 00:25:31.79\00:25:33.13 just real quick with that laver. 00:25:33.16\00:25:34.50 You know, it's interesting with the laver. 00:25:34.53\00:25:35.86 You can imagine that as again, you know, and by the way 00:25:35.90\00:25:39.17 for scriptural reference for those at home, 00:25:39.20\00:25:41.07 you can go read Exodus Chapter 26, 00:25:41.10\00:25:44.47 all the way through to about the first 11 verses 00:25:44.51\00:25:47.38 of Chapter 31 of Exodus. 00:25:47.41\00:25:49.14 And you have a very detailed diagnostic breakdown 00:25:49.18\00:25:52.15 of God giving Moses and Aaron 00:25:52.18\00:25:54.85 the detailed breakdown of the sanctuary. 00:25:54.88\00:25:57.29 Each article of furniture is explained, 00:25:57.32\00:25:59.45 what they are to do with it. 00:25:59.49\00:26:00.96 And I can imagine 00:26:00.99\00:26:02.42 because that laver was there in the courtyard, 00:26:02.46\00:26:04.76 that, you know, they did two offerings, 00:26:04.79\00:26:06.70 the priesthood will do two offerings a day 00:26:06.73\00:26:08.66 for Israel, and for the people 00:26:08.70\00:26:10.07 one in the morning, one at twilight in the evening. 00:26:10.10\00:26:12.37 And so and then, of course, 00:26:12.40\00:26:13.74 not counting all the other sacrifices 00:26:13.77\00:26:15.77 that were given throughout the day, 00:26:15.80\00:26:17.44 of course, that's why it's called the daily work. 00:26:17.51\00:26:20.01 This everything that was done 00:26:20.08\00:26:21.41 in the courtyard and in the holy place 00:26:21.44\00:26:23.95 was a daily work done by the priesthood. 00:26:23.98\00:26:26.45 And so as they've just dealt with that the bloodiness 00:26:26.48\00:26:29.55 of that altar scene, that burnt offering scene, 00:26:29.58\00:26:32.55 now they're gonna go to the laver 00:26:32.59\00:26:33.96 and you can imagine all throughout the day 00:26:33.99\00:26:35.59 them washing their hands and their feet, 00:26:35.62\00:26:37.86 and you could probably go to that laver 00:26:37.89\00:26:39.33 and look down into that laver 00:26:39.36\00:26:41.03 and you would see kind of a bloody ready watery mixture. 00:26:41.06\00:26:45.50 And it reminds me 00:26:45.53\00:26:46.87 of when Christ was on the cross. 00:26:46.94\00:26:48.44 Amen. 00:26:48.47\00:26:49.80 You know, what did they do after He died? 00:26:49.84\00:26:51.17 They stuck Him, and pierced Him, 00:26:51.21\00:26:52.54 and what came out? 00:26:52.57\00:26:53.91 Blood and water. 00:26:53.98\00:26:55.31 I think that it signifies the cleansing work 00:26:55.34\00:26:57.78 that Christ had done for us on the cross. 00:26:57.81\00:27:00.62 It all points to the cross. 00:27:00.65\00:27:02.48 And we're gonna get to that in just a few moments 00:27:02.52\00:27:04.29 to emphasize that if you do not have 00:27:04.32\00:27:07.26 that cross experience, 00:27:07.29\00:27:08.62 if you do not take time to dwell in the courtyard, 00:27:08.66\00:27:12.39 everything else really is not gonna make sense. 00:27:12.43\00:27:16.26 But once you've had that courtyard experience, 00:27:16.30\00:27:18.60 and you go into the holy place, 00:27:18.63\00:27:21.24 now you're in that sanctifying process 00:27:21.27\00:27:24.74 where God is now taking time with you, 00:27:24.77\00:27:27.21 to teach you more about Him, 00:27:27.28\00:27:29.81 to show you more of His character, 00:27:29.84\00:27:31.98 to open up to you more of who He really is. 00:27:32.01\00:27:35.42 And so He might take a stop at the showbread 00:27:35.45\00:27:38.52 because the showbread 00:27:38.55\00:27:39.89 as the priest would eat of it daily, 00:27:39.92\00:27:41.76 as we are to eat 00:27:41.79\00:27:43.32 of the Word of God, daily again, 00:27:43.36\00:27:45.29 "Man shall not live by bread alone." 00:27:45.33\00:27:46.90 That's Matthew 4:4. 00:27:46.93\00:27:49.53 So Matthew 4:4 says that, 00:27:49.56\00:27:52.17 "Man shall not eat by bread alone 00:27:52.20\00:27:54.04 or man shall not live by bread alone, 00:27:54.07\00:27:55.64 but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." 00:27:55.67\00:27:58.54 The table of showbread represents a daily work 00:27:58.57\00:28:01.64 that must be done in us each and every day 00:28:01.68\00:28:04.35 as we dwell upon God's Word 00:28:04.38\00:28:06.72 as we spend time with Him in His word, 00:28:06.75\00:28:08.85 as we come to know Him. 00:28:08.88\00:28:10.42 He is the bread of life, Shelley. 00:28:10.49\00:28:12.42 Amen. 00:28:12.45\00:28:13.79 And I find every single day that if I do not take time, 00:28:13.86\00:28:17.13 devotional time set aside for the Word of God, 00:28:17.16\00:28:20.50 to eat of His word, 00:28:20.53\00:28:21.86 and just spend time with Him and His Word. 00:28:21.90\00:28:23.40 I can feel it, you know, 00:28:23.47\00:28:24.80 emotionally, physically, spiritually within me 00:28:24.83\00:28:27.47 because there is as the Bible says, 00:28:27.54\00:28:29.60 "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word." 00:28:29.64\00:28:31.27 Amen. 00:28:31.31\00:28:32.64 Where our faith is built on Christ 00:28:32.67\00:28:34.88 more and more as we dwell upon His Word. 00:28:34.91\00:28:36.95 And so, just as that priesthood would eat of the table 00:28:36.98\00:28:40.02 or eat of the showbread that was on that table daily, 00:28:40.05\00:28:42.62 we must also eat of the Word of God, 00:28:42.65\00:28:44.99 we must also take in Christ and His Word 00:28:45.02\00:28:47.06 each and every day. 00:28:47.09\00:28:48.42 So Jesus said in John 6:35, "I am the bread of life. 00:28:48.46\00:28:51.86 Whoever eats of Me, 00:28:51.89\00:28:54.00 or takes in Me will never hunger." 00:28:54.03\00:28:56.53 You know, when you think about it, 00:28:56.56\00:28:58.23 God's Word is filled with so many promises. 00:28:58.27\00:29:01.87 2 Corinthians 1:20 says that, 00:29:01.90\00:29:04.47 "All of His promises find there Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus." 00:29:04.51\00:29:09.08 But if these words are not in your heart, 00:29:09.11\00:29:13.42 if you're not returning them in prayer, 00:29:13.45\00:29:16.32 these promises are inoperative... 00:29:16.35\00:29:17.95 Oh, absolutely. 00:29:17.99\00:29:19.32 Until you put them, so there is this personal need 00:29:19.35\00:29:23.86 of daily Bible study. 00:29:23.93\00:29:26.73 And when you look at the seven-branched candlestick, 00:29:26.80\00:29:30.90 when Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. 00:29:30.97\00:29:33.44 Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness." 00:29:33.47\00:29:37.04 Was that John 8:12? I think it is. 00:29:37.11\00:29:39.34 But he said or that when you look at that, 00:29:39.37\00:29:45.88 those candlesticks, 00:29:45.91\00:29:48.02 this is in the form of the tree, 00:29:48.05\00:29:49.92 these seven-branched like the Tree of Life. 00:29:49.95\00:29:51.92 Right. 00:29:51.95\00:29:53.29 They're filled with oil and the light never went out 00:29:53.36\00:29:55.66 because it represented, 00:29:55.69\00:29:58.46 this was the light that lit up the holy place 00:29:58.49\00:30:02.03 which was your first compartment 00:30:02.06\00:30:04.17 and it represented God's presence 00:30:04.20\00:30:06.20 because God says, 00:30:06.23\00:30:07.57 "I'll never leave you or forsake you." 00:30:07.64\00:30:10.14 But that oil we see in Zachariah, 00:30:10.21\00:30:13.81 the oil represents the Holy Spirit. 00:30:13.88\00:30:17.45 So the priest would fill the oil daily in each one 00:30:17.48\00:30:22.05 of these never extinguishing all at once, 00:30:22.08\00:30:24.99 but would cleanse and fill and that is us 00:30:25.02\00:30:29.62 needing to come before the Lord day by day 00:30:29.66\00:30:32.96 and asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit. 00:30:32.99\00:30:35.43 That's right. Absolutely. 00:30:35.46\00:30:36.80 In fact, if you go to Exodus Chapter 30, 00:30:36.87\00:30:39.70 I believe it is. 00:30:39.73\00:30:41.07 Exodus Chapter 30, 00:30:41.10\00:30:42.44 I believe gives us an insight 00:30:42.47\00:30:44.11 on what God expected of the priesthood 00:30:44.14\00:30:47.08 as they were working 00:30:47.11\00:30:48.44 in the holy place on a daily basis 00:30:48.48\00:30:50.85 while the priests were refilling the oil, 00:30:50.88\00:30:53.82 they were also, now get this, 00:30:53.85\00:30:55.78 notice how this goes back to the courtyard. 00:30:55.82\00:30:57.92 They would go and take a shovel. 00:30:57.95\00:30:59.99 Some type of shovel or censer of some kind, 00:31:00.06\00:31:03.16 and they would go out 00:31:03.19\00:31:04.53 and they would scoop some of the coals 00:31:04.56\00:31:05.89 from the burnt, the altar of burnt sacrifice. 00:31:05.93\00:31:09.23 They would take some of those hot coals 00:31:09.26\00:31:10.87 and they would bring it back into the holy place. 00:31:10.90\00:31:13.54 And they would place it up on the altar of incense 00:31:13.57\00:31:16.34 and they were to grind down to a powder, 00:31:16.37\00:31:19.01 certain special spices. 00:31:19.04\00:31:20.68 And they were to offer that powder upon those coals, 00:31:20.71\00:31:24.45 which is on the altar of incense, 00:31:24.48\00:31:26.38 which again was to be done in simultaneous 00:31:26.41\00:31:29.42 with this refilling of the oil at 00:31:29.45\00:31:33.05 the seven-branched candlestick. 00:31:33.09\00:31:35.09 Now what does that say to us? 00:31:35.12\00:31:36.73 First of all, what does that say 00:31:36.76\00:31:38.09 about the ministry of Christ and who Christ is? 00:31:38.13\00:31:40.10 Because remember, Christ, He says, 00:31:40.13\00:31:41.76 "I am the way and the way is found in the sanctuary." 00:31:41.80\00:31:44.60 So obviously, Christ said, "I am the light of the world." 00:31:44.63\00:31:47.87 So when you're looking at that seven-branched candlestick, 00:31:47.90\00:31:50.11 it's a representation of the light 00:31:50.14\00:31:52.31 that Christ brought to us 00:31:52.34\00:31:54.18 by the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:31:54.21\00:31:56.14 Back to the Holy Spirit, 00:31:56.18\00:31:57.88 God's work through the Holy Spirit 00:31:57.91\00:31:59.71 showing us who Christ is. 00:31:59.75\00:32:01.22 You can go read John Chapter 14 and John Chapter 16. 00:32:01.25\00:32:04.19 It tells us the significance of the work 00:32:04.22\00:32:06.25 of the Holy Spirit in our life. 00:32:06.29\00:32:07.66 That fire, Shelley, 00:32:07.69\00:32:09.02 that light would not have burned, 00:32:09.06\00:32:11.56 it would not have shown if the oil wasn't there. 00:32:11.59\00:32:14.30 And I have to say this 00:32:14.33\00:32:15.66 because when you think about the altar of burnt offering 00:32:15.70\00:32:19.10 at the courtyard, men never lit that fire. 00:32:19.13\00:32:22.30 Right. 00:32:22.34\00:32:23.71 You know, that was, it was divinely lit, 00:32:23.74\00:32:26.54 when they were dedicating the temple 00:32:26.57\00:32:29.14 and fire from heaven fell and it never went out. 00:32:29.18\00:32:33.15 They carried that fire 00:32:33.18\00:32:35.52 'cause this was the portable tabernacle. 00:32:35.55\00:32:37.75 So they carried that fire in a fire pot 00:32:37.79\00:32:40.46 because this is showing only God can forgive sins, 00:32:40.49\00:32:44.73 man cannot forgive sins. 00:32:44.76\00:32:46.56 So this was a divine flame. 00:32:46.59\00:32:49.23 That's exciting to me. 00:32:49.26\00:32:50.60 Amen. Absolutely. 00:32:50.67\00:32:52.00 And so, you know, I could just imagine that, 00:32:52.03\00:32:54.17 you know, the tabernacle was a busy place. 00:32:54.24\00:32:57.11 Then those priests were abuzz all the time 00:32:57.14\00:32:59.84 doing the work of God as it was their time to serve. 00:32:59.87\00:33:03.08 And, you know, you go into that holy place 00:33:03.11\00:33:05.28 and you see this fire burning 00:33:05.31\00:33:06.72 and you recognize that the oil is present there 00:33:06.75\00:33:09.48 and the fire is burning, 00:33:09.52\00:33:10.89 the work of the Holy Spirit in our life. 00:33:10.92\00:33:12.29 Jesus even said right here in John, excuse me, 00:33:12.32\00:33:14.19 Matthew Chapter 5 beginning with verse 14 here, 00:33:14.26\00:33:19.59 so Matthew 5:14, of course, 00:33:19.63\00:33:22.20 this is Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount. 00:33:22.23\00:33:24.80 And, of course, He has already said that, 00:33:24.83\00:33:27.74 you know, "We are the salt of the earth." 00:33:27.77\00:33:29.27 But notice what He says in verse 14, 00:33:29.30\00:33:31.04 "You are the light of the world. 00:33:31.07\00:33:32.74 A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 00:33:32.77\00:33:34.94 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, 00:33:34.98\00:33:37.55 but on," notice, "a lampstand, and it gives a light 00:33:37.58\00:33:40.32 to all who are in the house." 00:33:40.35\00:33:42.02 So again, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, 00:33:42.05\00:33:45.65 and the light and the righteousness of Christ 00:33:45.69\00:33:47.82 should be reflected within us. 00:33:47.86\00:33:49.36 Amen. 00:33:49.39\00:33:50.73 So as we are eating of that of God's Word daily, 00:33:50.76\00:33:53.83 as we are communicating with the Lord 00:33:53.90\00:33:55.93 and the incense of our prayers 00:33:55.96\00:33:57.80 are going to the Lord each and every day. 00:33:57.83\00:33:59.63 There's a third stool, 00:33:59.67\00:34:01.00 there's a third leg to that stool 00:34:01.04\00:34:03.24 that we should add to our daily experience. 00:34:03.27\00:34:05.27 And that is letting our light shine, 00:34:05.31\00:34:07.08 being a witness for God. 00:34:07.11\00:34:09.01 In fact, another text that comes to my mind, 00:34:09.04\00:34:11.58 dealing with this same aspect is Acts 1:8, 00:34:11.61\00:34:15.25 where Jesus says that, 00:34:15.28\00:34:18.75 "When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, 00:34:18.79\00:34:20.96 you shall be a witness unto Me unto all the earth." 00:34:20.99\00:34:25.13 And so, when we look inside that holy place, 00:34:25.16\00:34:28.80 if you are having a holy place experience in your life, 00:34:28.83\00:34:33.00 God is taking you through this sanctifying process, 00:34:33.03\00:34:36.10 where He's showing you who you are, 00:34:36.14\00:34:38.81 at the same time showing you who He is. 00:34:38.84\00:34:41.04 And, you know what? 00:34:41.08\00:34:42.41 We all might have a conversion experience 00:34:42.44\00:34:43.88 if we spent more time with God and His Word. 00:34:43.95\00:34:45.95 If we spent more time in prayer, 00:34:45.98\00:34:47.68 if we spent more time sharing the goodness of God 00:34:47.72\00:34:50.49 and allowing the work 00:34:50.52\00:34:51.85 of the Holy Spirit to change us. 00:34:51.89\00:34:53.22 We might actually have a conversion experience 00:34:53.25\00:34:54.82 much like unto Isaiah, 00:34:54.86\00:34:56.29 where he saw God beholding the stone, 00:34:56.32\00:34:58.66 he saw God's righteousness. 00:34:58.69\00:35:00.10 He saw his own unrighteousness. 00:35:00.13\00:35:02.30 And then he again, that sanctifying process, 00:35:02.33\00:35:04.87 he began to confess, he began to repent. 00:35:04.90\00:35:06.87 And again, the coal that angel brought 00:35:06.94\00:35:09.90 and put upon his lips, 00:35:09.94\00:35:11.41 he was cleansed through that sanctifying process 00:35:11.44\00:35:14.71 that we find there in the holy place. 00:35:14.74\00:35:16.18 Okay, so we're gonna hit the pause button 00:35:16.21\00:35:18.18 'cause we wanna get to the altar of incense as well 00:35:18.21\00:35:21.38 that's in the holy place. 00:35:21.42\00:35:22.75 Right. 00:35:22.78\00:35:24.12 The thing I don't wanna forget to say, of course, 00:35:24.19\00:35:27.19 Luke 11:9-13. 00:35:27.26\00:35:29.39 Luke 11:9-13, is where Jesus said, 00:35:29.42\00:35:34.30 "Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, 00:35:34.33\00:35:36.70 knock and the door will be open." 00:35:36.77\00:35:38.80 And it is in the Greek. 00:35:38.83\00:35:43.84 It's in a linear verb, that's in a continuing process. 00:35:43.91\00:35:48.88 So Jesus was saying, keep on asking, 00:35:48.91\00:35:52.58 keep on seeking, keep on knocking. 00:35:52.61\00:35:54.32 Absolutely. 00:35:54.35\00:35:55.68 But then in verse 13, 00:35:55.72\00:35:57.09 He lets us know what we're asking for. 00:35:57.12\00:35:59.42 He says, "If you being evil know how to give good gifts 00:35:59.45\00:36:02.79 to your children, 00:36:02.82\00:36:04.23 how much more will the Heavenly Father 00:36:04.26\00:36:07.40 give the Holy Spirit 00:36:07.43\00:36:08.93 to those who ask and keep on asking?" 00:36:08.96\00:36:11.77 So it's a daily experience. 00:36:11.80\00:36:13.37 But here's what I wanna say 'cause our time just, 00:36:13.44\00:36:16.50 and we wanna get to prayer, 00:36:16.54\00:36:18.64 but was anyone able 00:36:18.67\00:36:23.65 to go from the door 00:36:23.68\00:36:27.42 and jump right into the holy place? 00:36:27.45\00:36:29.75 Oh, absolutely not. 00:36:29.78\00:36:31.25 See, and the thing that I wanna say is, 00:36:31.29\00:36:34.96 sometimes I will watch a documentary. 00:36:34.99\00:36:38.73 And I actually had a lady 00:36:38.76\00:36:40.10 who was coming to a series of meetings that I was doing, 00:36:40.13\00:36:43.87 who had a Th.D., a doctorate in theology. 00:36:43.90\00:36:48.94 And this woman had never had a courtyard experience. 00:36:48.97\00:36:54.31 She'd spent all of these years in school. 00:36:54.34\00:36:57.65 She felt like she was... 00:36:57.68\00:36:59.68 and she was eating of the word. 00:36:59.71\00:37:02.45 And I know she prayed, 00:37:02.48\00:37:05.42 you know, at the altar of incense. 00:37:05.45\00:37:07.06 I know she was a woman who prayed. 00:37:07.09\00:37:12.46 She was mean spirited, 00:37:12.49\00:37:15.06 and never had given her heart to the Lord. 00:37:15.10\00:37:18.77 So when we titled this program, 00:37:18.80\00:37:23.61 The Courtyard Experience, 00:37:23.64\00:37:26.37 what we're saying is, that's the beginning of it all. 00:37:26.41\00:37:29.98 That's right. 00:37:30.05\00:37:31.38 And it's not a onetime thing. 00:37:31.41\00:37:32.75 It's a daily as we approach the Lord. 00:37:32.78\00:37:35.78 We begin with asking Him for the gift of repentance. 00:37:35.82\00:37:40.29 Acts 5:30, that we're asking Him 00:37:40.36\00:37:43.63 for the gift of repentance. 00:37:43.66\00:37:45.43 That's right. Absolutely. Go ahead. 00:37:45.46\00:37:47.30 You know, I think of, you know, 00:37:47.33\00:37:49.16 many people may be listening to this message right now 00:37:49.20\00:37:51.30 and saying, you know, 00:37:51.33\00:37:53.07 courtyard experience is great, 00:37:53.10\00:37:54.67 but Ryan, our ultimate goal is to have a holy place 00:37:54.70\00:37:57.64 where our most holy place experience 00:37:57.67\00:37:59.61 and we certainly are, 00:37:59.64\00:38:00.98 if we're talking about present truth, 00:38:01.01\00:38:02.34 we know that right now present truth would be talking 00:38:02.38\00:38:05.41 about what is Christ doing right now for us 00:38:05.45\00:38:07.65 in the Most Holy Place? 00:38:07.68\00:38:09.02 He is doing an intercessory work. 00:38:09.05\00:38:10.59 And we certainly don't want to diminish the message 00:38:10.62\00:38:13.25 of the Most Holy Place 00:38:13.29\00:38:14.62 or the message of the holy place. 00:38:14.66\00:38:16.19 But, you know, I think the emphasis 00:38:16.22\00:38:18.03 that we're trying to make here, 00:38:18.06\00:38:19.39 at least for myself here, I wanna be very clear, 00:38:19.43\00:38:21.36 is that you must, 00:38:21.40\00:38:22.73 you have to go through the courtyard 00:38:22.76\00:38:25.23 before you get to the holy place 00:38:25.27\00:38:26.94 before you get into them. 00:38:26.97\00:38:28.30 That having a holy, as you just mentioned, 00:38:28.34\00:38:30.34 having a holy place experience 00:38:30.41\00:38:32.04 or trying to leap from the door 00:38:32.07\00:38:33.98 into the Most Holy Place 00:38:34.01\00:38:35.54 without having stopped in the courtyard 00:38:35.58\00:38:37.58 to have that experience to, again, 00:38:37.65\00:38:39.58 set at the foot of the cross and behold, 00:38:39.61\00:38:41.75 what transpired at Calvary, my friends, 00:38:41.78\00:38:43.92 you're doing yourself a major disservice 00:38:43.99\00:38:45.75 because everything that you see happening in the sanctuary work 00:38:45.79\00:38:50.13 from the courtyard into the holy place 00:38:50.16\00:38:52.16 into the Most Holy Place, 00:38:52.19\00:38:53.60 all is somehow interconnected to what is happening 00:38:53.63\00:38:57.57 at that altar of burnt sacrifice. 00:38:57.60\00:38:59.87 What is happening on that altar 00:38:59.90\00:39:01.97 as the Lamb of God is being offered up? 00:39:02.00\00:39:04.44 And so, you know, I think somebody may be saying, 00:39:04.47\00:39:06.71 "Yeah, but that's milk, 00:39:06.78\00:39:08.34 of course, we want the steak and potatoes, 00:39:08.38\00:39:10.95 you know, that's milk, that's the milk of the gospel." 00:39:10.98\00:39:12.98 But yet even Paul says in 1 Corinthians 1:18. 00:39:13.01\00:39:16.99 So again, 1 Corinthians 1:18. 00:39:17.02\00:39:19.95 I love this scripture 'cause it's so true, Paul says, 00:39:19.99\00:39:22.82 "For the message of the cross is foolishness 00:39:22.86\00:39:25.09 to those who are perishing, 00:39:25.13\00:39:27.40 but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 00:39:27.43\00:39:32.03 And it is interesting because when you think 00:39:32.07\00:39:35.27 of a Most Holy Place experience, Shelley. 00:39:35.30\00:39:38.17 Most people think of the Day of Atonement 00:39:38.21\00:39:40.71 where they think of, 00:39:40.78\00:39:42.11 you know, this great judgment work 00:39:42.14\00:39:44.05 that has been done the holiest day 00:39:44.08\00:39:45.85 on the Hebrew calendar, 00:39:45.88\00:39:47.45 Yom Kippur, where... 00:39:47.52\00:39:49.15 Where the high priest entered into the Most Holy Place 00:39:49.18\00:39:51.72 only once a year, it wasn't daily. 00:39:51.75\00:39:53.96 Absolutely, but it was most definitely 00:39:53.99\00:39:56.22 the holiest day on the calendar 00:39:56.26\00:39:58.56 where all of Israel sins, 00:39:58.59\00:40:00.60 any sins that had been taken 00:40:00.63\00:40:02.50 into the sanctuary throughout the year, 00:40:02.53\00:40:04.53 the record was wiped clean. 00:40:04.57\00:40:06.20 God dealt with that record of sin. 00:40:06.23\00:40:08.57 It was a powerful Day of Judgment. 00:40:08.60\00:40:11.41 And so we don't want to diminish 00:40:11.44\00:40:13.04 the fact that it is, 00:40:13.07\00:40:14.41 it was most definitely a powerful work. 00:40:14.44\00:40:16.34 And it was, and still is a most powerful message 00:40:16.38\00:40:19.48 within that Day of Atonement. 00:40:19.51\00:40:21.02 But it's interesting that the high priest 00:40:21.05\00:40:23.59 could not approach God's presence 00:40:23.62\00:40:26.76 in the Most Holy Place, 00:40:26.79\00:40:28.39 unless there was a work done at the altar first. 00:40:28.42\00:40:31.16 In fact, you can go to the Leviticus Chapter 16. 00:40:31.19\00:40:33.40 Let's go there real quick. Leviticus Chapter 16. 00:40:33.43\00:40:35.80 I wanna emphasize this, this is powerful. 00:40:35.83\00:40:38.60 So most people think, you know, 00:40:38.63\00:40:39.97 I'll just go into the Most Holy Place 00:40:40.04\00:40:42.20 where the God's presence is, 00:40:42.24\00:40:43.61 where the Ark of the Covenant is. 00:40:43.64\00:40:44.97 I'll focus on God's holy law. 00:40:45.01\00:40:46.51 I'll preach the commandments, live the commandments, 00:40:46.54\00:40:48.51 breathe the commandments, teach the commandments, 00:40:48.54\00:40:50.45 and all of that stuff is great, 00:40:50.48\00:40:51.88 but if you have not had a cross experience, 00:40:51.91\00:40:55.55 all of that's in vain. 00:40:55.58\00:40:57.09 Notice this, Leviticus Chapter 16. 00:40:57.12\00:40:58.82 So this is obviously going to be entitled 00:40:58.85\00:41:00.96 The Day of Atonement. 00:41:00.99\00:41:02.32 This is where God gives all of the great details pertaining 00:41:02.36\00:41:04.53 to what Moses and Aaron or the high priests 00:41:04.56\00:41:07.10 where this was pertaining to Aaron's work, 00:41:07.13\00:41:08.86 what he had to do to prepare to enter God's presence 00:41:08.90\00:41:12.37 in the Most Holy Place. 00:41:12.40\00:41:13.74 Notice I'm gonna, so in verses 1-2, 00:41:13.77\00:41:15.94 he's basically telling... 00:41:15.97\00:41:17.31 Leviticus 16:1-2? 00:41:17.34\00:41:18.67 Leviticus 16:1-2, 00:41:18.71\00:41:20.68 you'll see there that he's telling Aaron, 00:41:20.71\00:41:22.91 basically, that they're not just to come in 00:41:22.94\00:41:24.45 just any old time that this had to be very done 00:41:24.48\00:41:27.65 in a very specific way. 00:41:27.68\00:41:29.28 But notice, starting with verse 3, 00:41:29.32\00:41:30.69 so this is Leviticus 16:3, 00:41:30.72\00:41:33.09 and we're gonna read through these opening verses here, 00:41:33.12\00:41:34.62 powerful. 00:41:34.66\00:41:35.99 Notice the author's work here 00:41:36.02\00:41:37.99 that the presence of the altar in this work 00:41:38.03\00:41:40.73 from the burnt offering in the courtyard. 00:41:40.80\00:41:42.76 So it says here, 00:41:42.80\00:41:44.17 "Thus Aaron shall come into the Holy place," notice, 00:41:44.20\00:41:46.74 "with the blood of a young bull as a sin offering, 00:41:46.77\00:41:50.31 and of a ram as a," notice, "burnt offering." 00:41:50.34\00:41:53.41 So before he was to enter into the Most Holy Place, 00:41:53.48\00:41:56.44 there had to been some type of sin offering, 00:41:56.48\00:41:58.91 some type of burnt offering. 00:41:58.95\00:42:00.72 He continues on to describe it in verse 4-5 and onward. 00:42:00.75\00:42:03.99 He says, "He shall put the holy linen tunic 00:42:04.02\00:42:07.66 and the linen trousers on his body, 00:42:07.69\00:42:10.03 he shall be girded with a linen sash, 00:42:10.06\00:42:12.03 and with the linen turban he shall be attired." 00:42:12.06\00:42:14.90 But notice this last part, "These are the holy garments. 00:42:14.93\00:42:17.57 Therefore," notice, 00:42:17.60\00:42:18.93 "he shall wash his body in water, 00:42:18.97\00:42:21.60 and put them on." 00:42:21.64\00:42:22.97 There's the laver. Yeah. 00:42:23.00\00:42:24.34 So before coming into the tabernacle itself 00:42:24.37\00:42:26.71 and before going past that veil into the Most Holy Place, 00:42:26.78\00:42:30.18 did Aaron the high priest 00:42:30.25\00:42:31.58 have to have a courtyard experience? 00:42:31.61\00:42:32.98 Absolutely. 00:42:33.01\00:42:34.35 He had to have that burnt offering, 00:42:34.38\00:42:35.72 that sin offering already prepared, 00:42:35.75\00:42:37.85 and he also had to cleanse himself, 00:42:37.89\00:42:39.49 wash himself at the laver before entering in. 00:42:39.52\00:42:42.52 And again, this is all on the Day of Atonement. 00:42:42.56\00:42:44.63 Notice verse 5, 00:42:44.66\00:42:45.99 "And he shall take from the congregation 00:42:46.03\00:42:47.40 of the children of Israel two kids of the goats 00:42:47.43\00:42:50.20 as a sin offering, 00:42:50.27\00:42:51.60 and one ram as a burnt offering." 00:42:51.63\00:42:53.23 So notice how we keep going back 00:42:53.27\00:42:55.00 to that altar of burnt offering. 00:42:55.04\00:42:57.31 Verse 6, "Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering, 00:42:57.34\00:42:59.81 which is for himself, 00:42:59.84\00:43:01.24 and make atonement for himself and for his house. 00:43:01.28\00:43:04.05 He shall take the two goats 00:43:04.08\00:43:05.41 and present them before the Lord 00:43:05.45\00:43:06.82 at the door of the tabernacle of the meeting." 00:43:06.85\00:43:10.09 Notice verse 9. 00:43:10.12\00:43:11.45 "And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord's lot fell," 00:43:11.49\00:43:14.79 so these two goats, 00:43:14.82\00:43:16.36 "and offer it as a sin offering." 00:43:16.39\00:43:18.19 Where he's gonna offer it as a sin offering? 00:43:18.23\00:43:19.66 Yeah. 00:43:19.69\00:43:21.03 Right back at that altar, 00:43:21.06\00:43:22.40 so notice how significant and powerful 00:43:22.43\00:43:25.07 the message of that altar of burnt offering is, 00:43:25.10\00:43:28.90 and how important it was for the judgment work 00:43:28.94\00:43:31.24 that was to be done on the Day of Atonement. 00:43:31.27\00:43:33.68 Aaron could not even approach and this was the high priest, 00:43:33.71\00:43:37.81 you know, this is someone whom someone would say, 00:43:37.85\00:43:40.22 "oh, Aaron's he's God's chosen high priest." 00:43:40.25\00:43:42.52 He's already had a courtyard experience. 00:43:42.55\00:43:45.65 He's already had his holy place, 00:43:45.69\00:43:47.56 sanctifying experience. 00:43:47.59\00:43:48.92 So he's now rep ready and prepared and prepped 00:43:48.96\00:43:51.29 to go into the very presence of God. 00:43:51.33\00:43:53.53 He doesn't need to revisit the courtyard, 00:43:53.60\00:43:56.06 but that's exactly what God was telling him, 00:43:56.10\00:43:58.00 before you come into My presence, 00:43:58.03\00:43:59.83 I need you to go back to the cross. 00:43:59.87\00:44:02.07 I need you to sacrifice self. 00:44:02.10\00:44:03.61 Absolutely. 00:44:03.64\00:44:05.47 And I'm thinking our time is just quickly slipping away. 00:44:05.51\00:44:09.21 Yeah. 00:44:09.24\00:44:10.58 And I wanted to point something out. 00:44:10.65\00:44:12.58 When we're talking about Jesus as the Lamb of God, 00:44:12.61\00:44:16.08 Revelation 13:8 says, 00:44:16.12\00:44:19.12 that's Revelation 13:8 00:44:19.15\00:44:21.39 that Jesus was the Lamb of God who was slain 00:44:21.42\00:44:26.06 from the foundations of the earth. 00:44:26.09\00:44:27.96 That is the everlasting gospel. 00:44:28.00\00:44:30.00 That's right. 00:44:30.07\00:44:31.40 That's the everlasting gospel of the Revelation 14, 00:44:31.43\00:44:34.67 the three angels' messages. 00:44:34.70\00:44:36.74 So the lamb being slain is present truth. 00:44:36.81\00:44:41.34 Absolutely. 00:44:41.38\00:44:42.71 And when you look at Revelation Chapter 5, 00:44:42.74\00:44:45.28 when it's talking about the lamb, 00:44:45.31\00:44:47.62 taking the scroll, 00:44:47.65\00:44:48.98 I'm gonna begin with verse 5, John, 00:44:49.02\00:44:51.79 there's a scroll that's got seven seals on it, 00:44:51.82\00:44:54.82 and they can't find anybody worthy of opening it. 00:44:54.86\00:44:57.46 And he says, 00:44:57.53\00:44:58.86 but one of the elders said to me, 00:44:58.89\00:45:00.23 this is Revelation 5:5, "Do not weep. 00:45:00.26\00:45:02.93 Behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, 00:45:02.96\00:45:06.53 the Root of David, 00:45:06.57\00:45:07.90 has prevailed to open the scroll 00:45:07.94\00:45:10.31 and to loose its seven seals." 00:45:10.34\00:45:12.77 So here he is calling him the lion. 00:45:12.81\00:45:17.28 But then verse 6, he says, 00:45:17.35\00:45:18.68 "I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne 00:45:18.71\00:45:23.12 and of the four living creatures, 00:45:23.15\00:45:25.55 in the midst of the elders, stood," what? 00:45:25.59\00:45:28.29 A Lamb. 00:45:28.32\00:45:29.66 "A Lamb as though it had been slain, 00:45:29.69\00:45:33.40 having seven horns," 00:45:33.43\00:45:35.33 seven is the number of perfection, 00:45:35.36\00:45:36.87 horn was authority, 00:45:36.90\00:45:38.23 so this is perfect authority, 00:45:38.27\00:45:40.24 "having seven eyes being all seen, 00:45:40.27\00:45:42.90 and the seven Spirits of God 00:45:42.94\00:45:44.87 the seven fold ministry of the Holy Spirit 00:45:44.91\00:45:48.44 sent out into all the earth." 00:45:48.48\00:45:49.81 Now what I wanna point out, all through Scripture, 00:45:49.84\00:45:53.52 the word used, I mean, in John said, 00:45:53.55\00:45:57.09 "Behold, the Lamb of God 00:45:57.12\00:45:58.52 who takes away the sins of the earth." 00:45:58.55\00:46:00.86 Yes. 00:46:00.89\00:46:02.22 The word used for lamb in the Greek 00:46:02.26\00:46:05.16 is completely different than what is used the word lamb 00:46:05.19\00:46:11.10 in Revelation 29 times the word 00:46:11.13\00:46:16.71 is a lambkin L-I-M-B-K-I-N 00:46:16.74\00:46:20.21 a little baby pet. 00:46:20.28\00:46:23.58 That's right. 00:46:23.65\00:46:26.25 When, let's look at Exodus Chapter 12. 00:46:26.28\00:46:29.95 And I'm gonna let you elucidate on this. 00:46:29.98\00:46:31.85 Yeah. 00:46:31.89\00:46:33.22 But Exodus Chapter 12. 00:46:33.25\00:46:37.23 When the Passover lamb was, 00:46:37.26\00:46:40.63 each family had to give up the Passover lamb 00:46:40.70\00:46:44.07 or slay the Passover lamb. 00:46:44.10\00:46:49.17 This wasn't just, 00:46:49.20\00:46:50.54 "Oh, honey, go pick up a spotless lamb 00:46:50.61\00:46:52.81 out of the herd and go ahead and take him down." 00:46:52.84\00:46:57.48 God made them bring that little lamb 00:46:57.55\00:47:01.02 into their house. 00:47:01.05\00:47:02.55 Read Exodus 12. 00:47:02.58\00:47:03.92 Yeah, Exodus Chapter 12, let's begin with verse 3. 00:47:03.99\00:47:06.55 Of course, this is the initiation 00:47:06.59\00:47:09.06 of the Passover. 00:47:09.09\00:47:11.06 And so we see here it says, 00:47:11.09\00:47:12.59 again, Exodus 12:3 00:47:12.63\00:47:15.23 and we're gonna read through verse 6 here. 00:47:15.26\00:47:17.07 It says, "Speak to all the congregation of Israel, 00:47:17.10\00:47:19.27 saying, 'On the tenth of this month 00:47:19.30\00:47:21.57 every man shall take for himself a lamb, 00:47:21.60\00:47:24.04 according to the house of his father, 00:47:24.11\00:47:26.71 a lamb for a household." 00:47:26.78\00:47:28.98 And verse 4 says, 00:47:29.01\00:47:30.35 "And if the household is too small for the lamb, 00:47:30.38\00:47:32.48 let him and his neighbor next to his house 00:47:32.51\00:47:34.45 take it according to the number of the persons 00:47:34.48\00:47:36.45 according to each man's need 00:47:36.48\00:47:38.09 and shall make your account for the lamb." 00:47:38.12\00:47:40.26 So there's one lamb for the entire household, 00:47:40.29\00:47:42.32 but you notice verses 5 and 6, 00:47:42.36\00:47:44.13 "Your lamb shall be without blemish, 00:47:44.16\00:47:45.96 a male of the first year." 00:47:45.99\00:47:47.33 So there's that lambkin aspect, it was a baby lamb. 00:47:47.40\00:47:51.07 "You shall take it from the sheep 00:47:51.10\00:47:52.57 and from the goats." 00:47:52.60\00:47:54.14 Now notice verse 6, 00:47:54.17\00:47:55.50 this is where it really starts to come alive here. 00:47:55.54\00:47:57.67 "Now you shall keep it 00:47:57.71\00:47:59.04 until the fourteenth day of the same month. 00:47:59.07\00:48:02.64 Then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel 00:48:02.68\00:48:05.55 shall kill it at twilight." 00:48:05.58\00:48:07.32 And so if you read these verses carefully, 00:48:07.35\00:48:09.52 he says, you're gonna go out on the tenth day of the month. 00:48:09.55\00:48:12.79 Get the lamp. And you're gonna get that lamb. 00:48:12.82\00:48:14.42 The baby lamb. 00:48:14.46\00:48:15.79 But you don't kill it 00:48:15.82\00:48:17.43 until twilight on the fourteenth day. 00:48:17.46\00:48:19.89 Now if you do your math correctly, 00:48:19.93\00:48:21.30 that's about three and a half days. 00:48:21.33\00:48:24.67 Which is exactly the same amount of time, 00:48:24.70\00:48:27.67 you know, in comparison to Christ ministry, 00:48:27.70\00:48:29.77 Christ was the Lamb of God 00:48:29.80\00:48:31.27 and His ministry was three and a half years. 00:48:31.31\00:48:34.34 But the thing that you have to think about is here 00:48:34.38\00:48:38.18 is when Jesus is personal to us. 00:48:38.21\00:48:41.12 That's right. 00:48:41.15\00:48:42.48 You know, the first time you go 00:48:42.52\00:48:43.89 through the courtyard experience, 00:48:43.92\00:48:45.25 He's your Passover lamb. That's right. 00:48:45.29\00:48:46.62 I mean, that's that justification. 00:48:46.65\00:48:48.52 And then we go beyond that on a daily basis 00:48:48.56\00:48:51.89 that we were confessing and repenting, 00:48:51.93\00:48:54.43 but when they brought that cute little baby lamb 00:48:54.46\00:48:58.50 in their house for three and half days. 00:48:58.53\00:49:00.34 Oh, I could imagine. 00:49:00.37\00:49:01.70 Oh, don't you know they just loved. 00:49:01.74\00:49:03.20 I love little lambs. 00:49:03.24\00:49:04.74 The kids you can imagine, the kids were playing with it. 00:49:04.77\00:49:07.71 They would feed it, they would water it, 00:49:07.74\00:49:09.91 they would pet it for three and half days. 00:49:09.94\00:49:11.45 Their parents would say don't give it a name. 00:49:11.48\00:49:14.42 But because they, but it's inevitable. 00:49:14.45\00:49:15.95 Yeah. 00:49:15.98\00:49:17.32 Fourteenth day at twilight, they're gonna, 00:49:17.39\00:49:18.72 the father of the household, the men of the household 00:49:18.75\00:49:20.99 would take that walk of shame 00:49:21.02\00:49:22.96 with that little baby pet lamb. 00:49:22.99\00:49:25.43 And he would confess the sins of himself and his household 00:49:25.46\00:49:30.17 into that little baby lamb lifeless there just, 00:49:30.20\00:49:33.94 again, not even fighting. 00:49:33.97\00:49:35.74 And then he would take the life of that lamb, 00:49:35.77\00:49:37.11 you know, Christ, He is the lamb. 00:49:37.14\00:49:40.48 He is the perfect little baby, pet lamb. 00:49:40.51\00:49:44.05 And there's no doubt in my mind, 00:49:44.08\00:49:45.45 the reason why God starts 00:49:45.48\00:49:47.15 at the altar of burnt sacrifice, 00:49:47.22\00:49:50.52 is he wants us to have a personal, 00:49:50.59\00:49:53.12 heartfelt experience at the foot of the cross. 00:49:53.15\00:49:56.39 And if you look back at that graphic, 00:49:56.42\00:49:58.56 there's a graphic we had of an aerial view. 00:49:58.59\00:50:01.16 If you trace around all those articles 00:50:01.20\00:50:03.03 of furniture in... 00:50:03.06\00:50:05.00 There it is. 00:50:05.03\00:50:06.37 It makes a cross, Shelley. Yeah. 00:50:06.40\00:50:07.84 And what is at the foot of that cross? 00:50:07.87\00:50:10.21 It's the altar of burnt offering. 00:50:10.24\00:50:12.64 There's no doubt that God wanted us 00:50:12.67\00:50:14.18 to start there with the sanctuary 00:50:14.21\00:50:16.95 so we could have a heartfelt experience, 00:50:16.98\00:50:21.02 looking and beholding at the foot of the cross. 00:50:21.05\00:50:23.18 So let's leave that up for just a second. 00:50:23.22\00:50:25.22 Let me put how I'm gonna ask control. 00:50:25.25\00:50:26.69 Okay, so that outer courtyard where the altar is, 00:50:26.76\00:50:31.23 the laver is, this is the justification process. 00:50:31.26\00:50:36.00 But day by day we sin, so day by day we need to go 00:50:36.03\00:50:38.80 through that repentance and be cleansed of sin. 00:50:38.83\00:50:41.40 And then the progression is into sanctification, 00:50:41.44\00:50:44.77 our separation from sin, 00:50:44.81\00:50:46.71 and that's by reading the Word of God 00:50:46.78\00:50:48.81 by having the light of Jesus, 00:50:48.84\00:50:52.78 light our path and having the oil 00:50:52.81\00:50:55.12 of the Holy Spirit in us. 00:50:55.15\00:50:56.72 And then those prayers 00:50:56.79\00:50:58.32 that are sending from the altar of incense 00:50:58.35\00:51:01.59 that's sanctification separation from sin. 00:51:01.62\00:51:04.76 But that third process, 00:51:04.79\00:51:06.73 that third step into the Holy of Holies 00:51:06.80\00:51:11.87 when the veil, when Jesus was crucified, 00:51:11.90\00:51:16.14 the veil was ripped from the top to the bottom. 00:51:16.17\00:51:20.01 To the bottom. 00:51:20.08\00:51:21.41 And He is the new in living way into the Holy of Holies. 00:51:21.44\00:51:25.38 That's right. 00:51:25.41\00:51:26.75 We have access to God through Him. 00:51:26.82\00:51:28.32 That's right. 00:51:28.35\00:51:29.68 In Hebrews 7:25, 00:51:29.72\00:51:31.25 "He is able to save to the uttermost 00:51:31.29\00:51:33.46 because He lives to intercede for us." 00:51:33.49\00:51:36.93 But the whole point that we are trying to make 00:51:36.96\00:51:42.50 is that you can't jump into a sanctification process. 00:51:42.53\00:51:46.77 You can know the 2300 day prophecy, 00:51:46.84\00:51:50.31 you can know all of this and be out preaching it. 00:51:50.34\00:51:54.18 But if you haven't had a courtyard experience, 00:51:54.21\00:51:58.08 you are not saved, 00:51:58.11\00:51:59.58 you are just like a clanging cymbal. 00:51:59.61\00:52:03.72 That's right. 00:52:03.79\00:52:05.12 So God knows there was a process. 00:52:05.15\00:52:07.29 He drew this out in the shape of the cross. 00:52:07.36\00:52:10.93 And thy way is in the sanctuary, O God. 00:52:10.96\00:52:15.76 That's right. Praise God. 00:52:15.80\00:52:17.47 Amen. 00:52:17.50\00:52:18.83 Our time's just nearly gone. 00:52:18.87\00:52:20.34 We're going to take a quick break, 00:52:20.37\00:52:21.80 go to a news break 00:52:21.84\00:52:23.17 and we'll come back for a closing thought. 00:52:23.20\00:52:25.04
