00:12:51.67\00:12:53.00 Sure. 00:12:53.03\00:12:54.37 So iShare began in 2010, at least the concept. 00:12:54.40\00:12:58.34 It started with a man named Mike Tuazon 00:12:58.37\00:13:01.14 who actually works for the Pacific Union. 00:13:01.18\00:13:03.35 He is in charge of Souls West, 00:13:03.38\00:13:05.25 which is their college of evangelism. 00:13:05.28\00:13:08.28 And he had this dream and vision to have a conference 00:13:08.32\00:13:12.85 that pulled in people from all over the Pacific Union 00:13:12.89\00:13:16.49 to train them to do evangelism. 00:13:16.52\00:13:17.96 All right, so for many of our viewers, 00:13:17.99\00:13:20.53 they're going what is the Pacific Union, 00:13:20.60\00:13:22.80 so explain the Pacific Union? 00:13:22.83\00:13:25.00 The Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist 00:13:25.03\00:13:27.67 is actually an organization that organizes conferences, 00:13:27.70\00:13:32.47 that organizes churches of lay members, 00:13:32.51\00:13:35.14 just Adventist members all around the world 00:13:35.18\00:13:36.95 so it's just a larger organizing body 00:13:36.98\00:13:39.05 of the Seventh-day Adventist Christian Church. 00:13:39.08\00:13:40.52 Okay, and the Pacific union covers what area? 00:13:40.55\00:13:43.59 It covers all of California, it covers Utah, Nevada, 00:13:43.62\00:13:47.59 Arizona, and Hawaii. 00:13:47.66\00:13:49.59 So there's, yeah, many conferences, 00:13:49.62\00:13:51.86 seven I believe actually in the Pacific Union. 00:13:51.89\00:13:54.43 So this idea was put in his mind by God, 00:13:54.46\00:13:59.07 tell us about it? 00:13:59.10\00:14:00.44 So it was put in Michael Tuazon's heart 00:14:00.47\00:14:02.74 by God to pull together people from all over this territory, 00:14:02.77\00:14:08.18 to be trained in how to do evangelism 00:14:08.21\00:14:10.58 and to be inspired to do evangelism. 00:14:10.65\00:14:12.95 So he brought up this idea 00:14:12.98\00:14:14.42 to the leadership of that union, 00:14:14.45\00:14:17.49 they thought it was great. 00:14:17.52\00:14:18.85 And he pulled together a team of other young people, 00:14:18.89\00:14:21.72 you know, like Weston and myself, 00:14:21.76\00:14:23.53 to start dreaming 00:14:23.56\00:14:25.46 and our first conference was in 2011. 00:14:25.49\00:14:28.26 So it didn't take too long to come up with the idea 00:14:28.30\00:14:31.10 and then do it. 00:14:31.13\00:14:32.47 Wonderful. 00:14:32.50\00:14:33.84 So, Weston, what happens at these conferences? 00:14:33.87\00:14:35.67 Tell us about it? 00:14:35.70\00:14:37.04 Oh, great, great question, 00:14:37.11\00:14:38.44 you know, the conferences, I'll tell you, 00:14:38.47\00:14:40.51 what's exciting about iShare is 00:14:40.58\00:14:42.81 it's the same general format each year. 00:14:42.84\00:14:46.48 It starts Friday evening Sabbath 00:14:46.51\00:14:48.58 and continues on to Saturday evening Sabbath. 00:14:48.62\00:14:51.45 It's not a long conference if you will, 00:14:51.49\00:14:54.96 but what I like about iShare 00:14:54.99\00:14:57.63 is we're trying to be cutting edge. 00:14:57.66\00:15:00.43 You never know what to expect at iShare 00:15:00.50\00:15:02.30 but the one thing coming to this conference 00:15:02.33\00:15:04.37 is that we strive for and that we pray for 00:15:04.40\00:15:07.04 is that you will find inspiration there. 00:15:07.07\00:15:09.67 If you're looking for that inspiration, 00:15:09.70\00:15:11.11 that passion, 00:15:11.14\00:15:12.47 that drive in your walk with the Lord, 00:15:12.51\00:15:14.18 this is the place for you. 00:15:14.21\00:15:15.54 If you're looking to network and meet young people 00:15:15.58\00:15:18.31 who love Jesus like you do, you're like, "Where are they?" 00:15:18.35\00:15:21.28 They're at iShare, come and find them. 00:15:21.32\00:15:23.49 And additionally, if you're looking for advice, 00:15:23.52\00:15:25.92 maybe in business, maybe in school, 00:15:25.95\00:15:28.99 maybe in the medical field, whatever you're doing, 00:15:29.02\00:15:30.93 there's someone there for you to connect with. 00:15:30.96\00:15:34.20 And additionally, the speakers, we try and bring speakers 00:15:34.23\00:15:37.00 from all different walks of life 00:15:37.07\00:15:39.00 to make iShare one of the most practical, 00:15:39.03\00:15:41.70 practical conferences 00:15:41.74\00:15:44.37 that you can essentially attend, yeah. 00:15:44.41\00:15:46.17 So what is the age of your target market? 00:15:46.21\00:15:51.98 Good question. 00:15:52.01\00:15:53.42 The age target really is anyone but it's 18 to 30, 00:15:53.45\00:15:58.62 you know, 18 to 35 that group comes the most. 00:15:58.65\00:16:01.46 We have 16, 17 year olds, 00:16:01.49\00:16:02.99 sometimes we've even had 14 year olds, 00:16:03.02\00:16:04.96 you know, as young as that. 00:16:04.99\00:16:07.23 And we've had some as wise as yourself, so. 00:16:07.30\00:16:10.07 I love that. 00:16:10.10\00:16:11.43 Not old but wise, Honey, 00:16:11.47\00:16:13.00 you're very, very wise. 00:16:13.03\00:16:16.47 You know what they say you don't get old 00:16:16.50\00:16:18.71 because you stop playing, you keep playing the stales. 00:16:18.74\00:16:22.31 We love to see, you know, people who are, 00:16:22.34\00:16:24.51 you know, high energy and just, 00:16:24.55\00:16:26.15 you know, want to find that passion. 00:16:26.18\00:16:27.95 This is the place for you. 00:16:27.98\00:16:29.32 But ideally, I think 18 to 35 what you said or even younger. 00:16:29.35\00:16:32.75 Yeah, 18 to 35. 00:16:32.79\00:16:34.16 And even though this is being put on 00:16:34.19\00:16:35.76 by the Pacific Union, 00:16:35.79\00:16:38.06 they have people who are coming 00:16:38.09\00:16:40.13 from all over the world to attend and so, 00:16:40.20\00:16:45.10 is it fair to say since it's talking about... 00:16:45.13\00:16:49.37 Part of your acronym 00:16:49.40\00:16:50.84 is about revival and evangelism, 00:16:50.91\00:16:53.38 that's the focus. 00:16:53.41\00:16:54.74 You're trying to light a fire in people. 00:16:54.78\00:16:58.21 Let the zeal of the Holy Spirit burn brightly, 00:16:58.25\00:17:02.55 and then teach them a lifestyle of evangelism. 00:17:02.58\00:17:06.29 Is that the focus of the conference? 00:17:06.32\00:17:07.69 Right. 00:17:07.72\00:17:09.06 Thank you so much for clarifying, Shelley, 00:17:09.09\00:17:10.63 as Heidi had mentioned, it stands for, iShare, 00:17:10.66\00:17:12.99 it stands for I Seek to Help Advance 00:17:13.03\00:17:15.80 Revival and Evangelism. 00:17:15.83\00:17:17.17 And so what we're trying to accomplish with the speakers 00:17:17.20\00:17:21.30 is to really inspire young people 00:17:21.34\00:17:24.44 to go out and to really live a life 00:17:24.47\00:17:27.18 of passion and evangelism, 00:17:27.21\00:17:29.54 in terms of their walk with the Lord. 00:17:29.58\00:17:32.11 We want Jesus to come soon, right? 00:17:32.15\00:17:34.15 And I think, you know, each year you know, 00:17:34.22\00:17:38.02 in young people responding to appeals, 00:17:38.05\00:17:40.36 as we'll get into later in the conversation, 00:17:40.39\00:17:42.02 some of the testimonies. 00:17:42.06\00:17:43.73 The idea is that once they come and find that inspiration, 00:17:43.76\00:17:47.76 maybe that know how, 00:17:47.80\00:17:49.13 and some of our breakout seminars 00:17:49.16\00:17:50.50 that we have at the conference as well, 00:17:50.57\00:17:52.60 that they can then take that, 00:17:52.63\00:17:55.77 maybe newfound passion if you will, 00:17:55.80\00:17:58.01 take that new newfound skill set 00:17:58.04\00:18:00.78 and that they can apply it into their personal lives, 00:18:00.81\00:18:03.18 whatever your, whatever your career path, 00:18:03.21\00:18:05.98 whatever school you go to, 00:18:06.01\00:18:07.85 wherever you are during the day, 00:18:07.88\00:18:09.25 maybe grocery shopping, 00:18:09.28\00:18:10.99 you can find a way to share your faith, 00:18:11.02\00:18:14.89 maybe and this is just my personal experience. 00:18:14.92\00:18:17.53 But sometimes it helps 00:18:17.56\00:18:19.86 to see how other young people get involved, 00:18:19.89\00:18:23.13 how other young people have found their way. 00:18:23.16\00:18:25.87 And then really just to kind of almost mimic 00:18:25.90\00:18:29.37 what works or just to kind of 00:18:29.40\00:18:31.07 maybe find a creative niche to go out 00:18:31.11\00:18:34.08 and share your faith. 00:18:34.11\00:18:35.44 So that's what we're trying to do 00:18:35.48\00:18:37.25 at the annual conference 00:18:37.28\00:18:38.65 to inspire young people to really go out 00:18:38.68\00:18:40.98 and the rest of the year to evangelize 00:18:41.02\00:18:43.69 and just share what the Lord is doing for them. 00:18:43.72\00:18:46.29 That was the first thing that caught my attention was 00:18:46.32\00:18:48.86 that there's other people with the mixture involved here 00:18:48.89\00:18:52.86 in the age differences. 00:18:52.89\00:18:54.90 There's always someone there that could help anybody grow. 00:18:54.93\00:18:59.00 Lot of people have an idea, but they may think that 00:18:59.03\00:19:01.10 they're the only one that has that idea. 00:19:01.14\00:19:03.51 And they'll find out that "Wow, our stories are similar." 00:19:03.54\00:19:06.34 But is it fair to say, now let me ask 00:19:06.37\00:19:08.94 'cause I know that one of you mentioned that 00:19:08.98\00:19:11.55 you have a strong focus on salvation by grace. 00:19:11.58\00:19:17.02 Is it fair to say that 00:19:17.09\00:19:19.75 because you are emphasizing revival, 00:19:19.79\00:19:24.49 that there are kids who come and really understand 00:19:24.53\00:19:28.80 the love of the Lord. 00:19:28.83\00:19:30.37 And because they, you know, as Paul said, 00:19:30.40\00:19:34.54 I mean, John said, we only love Him 00:19:34.57\00:19:36.74 because He first loved us. 00:19:36.81\00:19:38.81 So it's as they learn God's love, 00:19:38.84\00:19:43.21 and their own hearts are being revived. 00:19:43.24\00:19:45.18 Because, you know, when people say, 00:19:45.21\00:19:47.32 "Why aren't we sharing the gospel more?" 00:19:47.35\00:19:49.55 It's because we need revival. 00:19:49.58\00:19:50.92 Absolutely. Yeah. 00:19:50.99\00:19:52.32 And that has been 00:19:52.35\00:19:53.69 why we put revival in the acronym 00:19:53.72\00:19:55.66 because we realized evangelism only happens 00:19:55.69\00:19:59.03 when you love Jesus. 00:19:59.06\00:20:01.60 You can't share Jesus 00:20:01.63\00:20:03.06 if you don't love Him for yourself, you know. 00:20:03.10\00:20:05.30 So that has been our biggest pull. 00:20:05.33\00:20:07.24 And we wanted to be more than just, 00:20:07.27\00:20:08.70 I was going to tack on to what Weston said earlier, 00:20:08.74\00:20:10.51 we wanted to be more than just a conference 00:20:10.54\00:20:13.04 because a conference is a couple days. 00:20:13.07\00:20:15.64 But we have our whole year in front of us, 00:20:15.68\00:20:17.95 you know, and the only way that that can happen is 00:20:17.98\00:20:20.22 if we're experiencing revival in our own hearts, 00:20:20.25\00:20:22.82 and encouraging young people to fall in love with Jesus. 00:20:22.85\00:20:25.42 So there's a huge emphasis on Jesus, 00:20:25.45\00:20:28.42 His character, studying the Word, prayer, 00:20:28.46\00:20:31.86 Bible study, and witnessing. 00:20:31.89\00:20:34.96 And if you find yourself on a slippery slope, 00:20:35.00\00:20:37.77 you've got someone that you can call and say, 00:20:37.80\00:20:39.90 "Hey, you know, I'm experiencing this. 00:20:39.93\00:20:43.17 What would you suggest?" Exactly. 00:20:43.20\00:20:45.54 And what's so nice about that is it's a way 00:20:45.57\00:20:47.64 to really put yourself in, 00:20:47.68\00:20:49.38 let's just call it a support group, right? 00:20:49.41\00:20:51.41 It's nice to have, JD, 00:20:51.45\00:20:52.78 as you mentioned someone you can call, 00:20:52.81\00:20:54.45 maybe someone you met on iShare and say 00:20:54.48\00:20:56.05 "You know, I'm at a secular campus, 00:20:56.08\00:20:58.69 and I want to share the love of Jesus in my life 00:20:58.72\00:21:01.76 with my friend, but, you know, 00:21:01.79\00:21:03.46 really I have never done that before." 00:21:03.53\00:21:05.26 You know, and here maybe you connect with someone 00:21:05.29\00:21:07.60 who has done it before who has the same passion, 00:21:07.63\00:21:10.27 maybe you can get together in network so it's just, 00:21:10.30\00:21:12.53 it's a great place to bring likeminded people together, 00:21:12.57\00:21:16.64 and you know what? 00:21:16.71\00:21:18.04 Maybe you've never, maybe you aren't a Christian, 00:21:18.07\00:21:20.88 you're just, you know, in the area. 00:21:20.91\00:21:23.45 Come visit with us. 00:21:23.48\00:21:24.81 We'd love to have you, we love... 00:21:24.85\00:21:26.58 You're going to walk away learning, 00:21:26.61\00:21:28.25 I mean, we learn something new every day, don't we? 00:21:28.28\00:21:30.39 So here being at a two day 00:21:30.42\00:21:32.59 conference we pack in as much as we can, 00:21:32.62\00:21:34.62 you're bound to walk away 00:21:34.66\00:21:36.73 with more than you came in with and let me tell you, 00:21:36.76\00:21:38.66 that's, you know, the best bank for your buck right there. 00:21:38.69\00:21:43.37 Now, I think we have a video 00:21:43.40\00:21:44.77 and I think this would be a good time to show the video 00:21:44.80\00:21:47.57 and then we will come back and discuss this a little more. 00:21:47.64\00:21:50.74 iShare is a different kind of conference 00:22:03.28\00:22:05.69 because it focuses on revival and evangelism. 00:22:05.72\00:22:08.89 So I can go back to my church and make a big difference. 00:22:08.92\00:22:12.36 Even just today I was inspired to go back 00:22:12.39\00:22:14.20 and continue to give Bible studies to somebody 00:22:14.23\00:22:16.33 that I have in my home church. 00:22:16.36\00:22:18.57 iShare is fantastic. 00:22:18.60\00:22:21.47 The interested in reaching other people 00:22:28.38\00:22:30.55 for the Lord Jesus Christ 00:22:30.58\00:22:31.91 with the saving message, the life transforming message 00:22:31.95\00:22:35.52 that has been entrusted 00:22:35.55\00:22:36.89 to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:22:36.92\00:22:38.72 The speakers are great, the seminars are enlightening, 00:22:38.75\00:22:42.62 it is a powerful packed weekend that is just wonderful. 00:22:42.66\00:22:46.80 I wish there was an iShare when I was younger. 00:22:46.83\00:22:50.40 iShare is a meeting where if you have a young person 00:22:50.47\00:22:53.57 or you are a young person, 00:22:53.64\00:22:54.97 you're really wanting to get inspired to know 00:22:55.00\00:22:56.47 what God wants you to do, iShare is a great place to come 00:22:56.50\00:22:59.31 and talk to people, to network with them, 00:22:59.34\00:23:01.34 to understand what's happening 00:23:01.38\00:23:03.48 and just let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart through 00:23:03.55\00:23:05.95 a group of young people that are experiencing it, 00:23:05.98\00:23:08.05 their lives are being changed. 00:23:08.08\00:23:10.39 iShare is something that I promise you 00:23:16.93\00:23:18.36 and have great fellowship, but more than that 00:23:18.39\00:23:20.63 you gain such a blessing in your lifestyle, 00:23:20.70\00:23:23.57 you really get to realize yourself, 00:23:23.60\00:23:25.50 who you are even more and how much more 00:23:25.53\00:23:27.44 of a need of Christ that you have. 00:23:27.47\00:23:29.04 I would fully recommend highly that anyone 00:23:29.07\00:23:31.87 who has a chance to attend a iShare weekend event in 2018 00:23:31.91\00:23:37.45 or going forward should do so. 00:23:37.48\00:23:40.32 In our world today, there are so many influences 00:23:40.35\00:23:42.75 that come at us from the devil on every side. 00:23:42.78\00:23:45.02 I would say to anyone 00:23:45.05\00:23:46.39 who is considering going to iShare, 00:23:46.42\00:23:48.02 I would absolutely say go without question, just come. 00:23:48.06\00:23:51.43 Because we need to fill our lives 00:23:51.46\00:23:53.60 with more inspiration, 00:23:53.63\00:23:54.96 more training, and do everything we can 00:23:55.00\00:23:56.97 to be equipped to be soldiers of Christ. 00:23:57.00\00:23:58.77 This conference is put together for that purpose 00:23:58.80\00:24:01.10 to help you and me, 00:24:01.14\00:24:02.47 people that want to live for Christ, 00:24:02.50\00:24:04.41 to live for Him. 00:24:04.44\00:24:05.77 And that's why I like iShare. 00:24:05.81\00:24:07.18 And that's why you should come to iShare as well. 00:24:07.21\00:24:08.54 Wow, there's a lot of activity there, 00:24:15.45\00:24:17.02 a lot of people. 00:24:17.09\00:24:18.42 A lot of people from different walks of life from even, 00:24:18.45\00:24:21.36 you know, international locations. 00:24:21.39\00:24:23.83 A lot of people come from out of state, 00:24:23.86\00:24:26.16 just a great opportunity to connect. 00:24:26.19\00:24:27.90 You know, I'd mentioned before, it's a great way to network. 00:24:27.93\00:24:31.47 One thing we've been doing, a new thing that, 00:24:31.50\00:24:33.44 you know, Heidi and I wanted to briefly mention, 00:24:33.47\00:24:35.04 I guess I should have mentioned this prior 00:24:35.07\00:24:36.74 is even for musicians and talent, 00:24:36.81\00:24:38.94 it's a great way to come and to connect. 00:24:38.97\00:24:41.01 We've been doing something new. 00:24:41.04\00:24:42.38 Each year, we start the conference off 00:24:42.41\00:24:44.28 with a wonderful concert. 00:24:44.31\00:24:45.81 And we connect other musicians with musicians, 00:24:45.85\00:24:48.32 and we have just this brilliant orchestra that plays 00:24:48.35\00:24:51.15 and it's just been a tremendous blessing. 00:24:51.19\00:24:53.29 So once again, I didn't mean to just emphasize the career path, 00:24:53.36\00:24:57.23 come, enjoy some beautiful music, 00:24:57.26\00:24:58.86 enjoy all different facets of this ministry, if you will. 00:24:58.89\00:25:02.23 Yeah, our first conference was in 2011, 00:25:02.26\00:25:06.07 we had about 500 people that came 00:25:06.10\00:25:07.64 and I saw a lot of people on the video. 00:25:07.67\00:25:09.64 And we peaked at about 1500 one year. 00:25:09.67\00:25:12.34 You know, I mean, 00:25:12.37\00:25:13.71 we've had a large amount of young people 00:25:13.78\00:25:16.14 and young at heart that have come 00:25:16.18\00:25:18.75 and enjoy the messages, been inspired, been encouraged. 00:25:18.78\00:25:21.65 So tell us some of the locations 00:25:21.68\00:25:23.49 like where were you in '17, '18, '19? 00:25:23.52\00:25:25.79 Sure. Yeah. 00:25:25.82\00:25:27.16 We've gone around different places. 00:25:27.19\00:25:28.59 Visalia, Riverside, Ontario, have all been different places. 00:25:28.62\00:25:31.96 2019 it's in Riverside. 00:25:31.99\00:25:33.93 There's lots of different places 00:25:34.00\00:25:35.33 that we have gone, but we fluctuate back 00:25:35.36\00:25:37.57 and forth between Riverside and Ontario area 00:25:37.60\00:25:40.94 and up in Visalia area, every other area. 00:25:40.97\00:25:42.80 Okay, so this is... 00:25:42.84\00:25:45.81 But the conference is every year, every August? 00:25:45.84\00:25:47.71 Correct, every August. 00:25:47.74\00:25:49.21 Second or third weekend of August every year. 00:25:49.24\00:25:51.98 We've got iShare, yeah. 00:25:52.01\00:25:53.62 And how do they get the word, 00:25:53.65\00:25:55.48 I mean, is this all on social media 00:25:55.52\00:25:57.69 or local churches or...? 00:25:57.72\00:26:00.69 Good question. 00:26:00.76\00:26:02.09 Yeah, the way that we get the word out 00:26:02.12\00:26:04.26 is through our marketing department. 00:26:04.33\00:26:06.26 Our marketing department does a lot of things 00:26:06.29\00:26:08.23 at different camp meetings and meetings where they can, 00:26:08.26\00:26:11.00 you know, promote, share flyers, 00:26:11.03\00:26:12.73 we do have Instagram, we have Facebook, 00:26:12.77\00:26:16.57 we also have our website 00:26:16.60\00:26:18.14 that will be shown a little bit later in the program. 00:26:18.17\00:26:19.87 Oh, let's show them now. Sure, might as well. 00:26:19.91\00:26:21.78 Instagram is ishare_conference. 00:26:21.81\00:26:26.48 Is that correct? Correct. 00:26:26.51\00:26:27.85 Yeah, that's our Instagram. 00:26:27.88\00:26:29.22 And tell some of our older viewers 00:26:29.25\00:26:30.69 what Instagram is? 00:26:30.72\00:26:32.05 The young guns all know. 00:26:32.09\00:26:33.46 It's a social media platform with lots of pictures 00:26:33.49\00:26:35.89 and being able to connect and show where you're at, 00:26:35.92\00:26:37.96 what you're doing. 00:26:37.99\00:26:39.63 You know, Shelley, 00:26:39.66\00:26:41.00 I'm just going to call it what it is. 00:26:41.03\00:26:42.36 These days people don't even hand phone numbers. 00:26:42.40\00:26:43.87 It's all just Instagram handles and things of that nature. 00:26:43.90\00:26:46.87 So we're trying to obviously connect 00:26:46.94\00:26:49.07 with the young people the way that they know how essentially. 00:26:49.10\00:26:52.31 So follow us on Instagram, please do, 00:26:52.34\00:26:53.88 we'd love to connect with you. 00:26:53.91\00:26:55.28 And then your website 00:26:55.31\00:26:57.25 is iShareConference.org. 00:26:57.28\00:27:01.92 So on that website, is it more than just announcing 00:27:01.95\00:27:05.52 where your next conference is going to be? 00:27:05.55\00:27:07.66 Are there resources? 00:27:07.69\00:27:09.02 Tell us about your website a little? 00:27:09.06\00:27:10.39 Yeah. 00:27:10.43\00:27:11.76 So our website doesn't have a lot of training 00:27:11.79\00:27:13.33 and resources that are on it. 00:27:13.40\00:27:15.10 You got to come to the conference for that. 00:27:15.13\00:27:17.27 But it does have 00:27:17.30\00:27:18.63 where the conference is going to be held, 00:27:18.67\00:27:20.00 how to register, where to stay when you come. 00:27:20.04\00:27:23.41 And a little bit about us, you know, what our goal is, 00:27:23.44\00:27:26.31 our goal as a conference is to unite, not divide. 00:27:26.34\00:27:29.31 We want to, you know, 00:27:29.34\00:27:31.58 showcase the grace of Jesus Christ 00:27:31.61\00:27:33.42 because we realized that leads us to repentance 00:27:33.45\00:27:35.42 and love and outflow. 00:27:35.45\00:27:37.42 So it showcases kind of our vision and our mission, 00:27:37.49\00:27:40.36 you know, to empower young people 00:27:40.39\00:27:42.26 to do evangelism in their life every single day, 00:27:42.29\00:27:45.56 and that's what highlighted. 00:27:45.59\00:27:47.03 When God put this in Michael's heart, 00:27:47.10\00:27:49.43 I know that he actually works for the Pacific Union, 00:27:49.46\00:27:52.43 but for example, the rest of the team are laity, 00:27:52.47\00:27:56.27 you are volunteers. 00:27:56.30\00:27:58.37 Tell us how God began to develop this? 00:27:58.41\00:28:02.81 How did He bring the team together? 00:28:02.84\00:28:05.01 And how did you come up with the idea of iShare? 00:28:05.05\00:28:07.52 It was powerful, honestly, the iShare team 00:28:07.55\00:28:10.79 is a group of young people that love Jesus, 00:28:10.82\00:28:13.96 and they want to share Him with the world. 00:28:13.99\00:28:16.12 That's what our executive team is. 00:28:16.16\00:28:17.76 It was just a group that was kind of, 00:28:17.79\00:28:19.46 you know, magneted together 00:28:19.49\00:28:20.93 because of our love for the Lord 00:28:20.96\00:28:22.30 and our love for ministry, 00:28:22.33\00:28:23.67 and probably our experience in ministry, 00:28:23.70\00:28:25.90 being able to then share that with other young people. 00:28:25.93\00:28:29.34 But we were sitting in one of our meetings, 00:28:29.37\00:28:31.41 one of our first meetings, we were trying to figure out 00:28:31.44\00:28:33.88 what to call this thing. 00:28:33.91\00:28:35.24 You know, we said, "What should we call it?" 00:28:35.28\00:28:37.45 And we went for minutes and minutes and minutes 00:28:37.48\00:28:40.35 and we couldn't come up with anything. 00:28:40.42\00:28:42.15 And one of our iShare team, Viera Ankova. 00:28:42.18\00:28:44.79 She actually said, She's like, 00:28:44.82\00:28:46.15 "Guys, we need to stop and pray. 00:28:46.19\00:28:48.32 We just need to stop and pray 00:28:48.36\00:28:49.69 and the Lord will give it to us," you know. 00:28:49.72\00:28:51.86 And iShare has been bathed in prayer 00:28:51.89\00:28:53.80 since its inception. 00:28:53.83\00:28:55.83 We stopped, a few minutes later someone said 00:28:55.86\00:28:58.43 "What about iShare?" 00:28:58.47\00:29:00.57 And then someone right after that 00:29:00.64\00:29:02.10 was going through and saying 00:29:02.14\00:29:03.94 "I seek to help." 00:29:04.01\00:29:05.51 And someone said "advance" 00:29:05.54\00:29:06.88 and someone else said "revival and evangelism" 00:29:06.91\00:29:09.01 and literally within a few minutes 00:29:09.04\00:29:10.65 we had the iShare, you know, acronym, 00:29:10.68\00:29:14.32 all because we stopped and prayed. 00:29:14.35\00:29:16.45 And Viera is one example of people 00:29:16.48\00:29:19.32 that are part of our team that exemplify evangeliving, 00:29:19.35\00:29:23.09 I mean, this woman is amazing. 00:29:23.12\00:29:25.99 Hang on just a second. 00:29:26.03\00:29:27.40 You introduced a term a lot of people haven't heard, 00:29:27.43\00:29:30.07 evangeliving. 00:29:30.10\00:29:32.10 Yes. Can you tell what this is? 00:29:32.13\00:29:34.24 So it's just a lifestyle of evangelism. 00:29:34.27\00:29:37.41 So it's the idea that it's not an event, 00:29:37.44\00:29:39.44 it's not a weekend, 00:29:39.47\00:29:40.81 it's not going out for a quick little outreach 00:29:40.88\00:29:43.04 for an hour. 00:29:43.08\00:29:44.41 Know our life is to be lived, 00:29:44.45\00:29:46.28 you know, let our light shine, right? 00:29:46.31\00:29:49.05 So evangeliving is a lifestyle of evangelism 00:29:49.08\00:29:51.75 that we seek to promote. 00:29:51.79\00:29:53.12 We're trying to help young people 00:29:53.15\00:29:54.49 understand this is what it's all about. 00:29:54.52\00:29:55.86 Okay, so tell us... Yeah. 00:29:55.89\00:29:57.23 Everybody should be paying attention to this. 00:29:57.26\00:29:58.59 Oh, yeah, not just young people, right? 00:29:58.63\00:30:01.10 Absolutely. Yeah. 00:30:01.13\00:30:02.73 And that's what we seek to promote and inspire. 00:30:02.76\00:30:05.07 Okay, so now you were telling us 00:30:05.10\00:30:06.60 about this young lady? 00:30:06.63\00:30:08.40 So just as an example of who's on our team 00:30:08.44\00:30:11.34 and because we don't necessarily want to sit here 00:30:11.37\00:30:13.88 and talk about ourselves, but Viera Ankova, 00:30:13.91\00:30:17.81 one of our team members from the past, 00:30:17.85\00:30:20.98 she is an evangeliving addict. 00:30:21.02\00:30:26.42 She just lives and breathes Jesus Christ 00:30:26.45\00:30:30.03 and sharing Him with others. 00:30:30.06\00:30:31.73 And I remember one time we went into a meeting, 00:30:31.76\00:30:34.56 we were staying at a hotel together, 00:30:34.60\00:30:36.87 and we were going to go to the meeting the next day. 00:30:36.90\00:30:39.47 She came in at 10 pm. 00:30:39.50\00:30:40.84 I was already in my pajamas, and we were ready to go to bed 00:30:40.87\00:30:43.94 and she came in with his bright face. 00:30:44.01\00:30:46.14 She said, "Do you want to go out into the parking lot 00:30:46.17\00:30:48.51 and put little glow tracts, little literature pieces 00:30:48.54\00:30:50.85 on all the cars before we go to bed?" 00:30:50.88\00:30:53.62 And I said, "Sure." 00:30:53.65\00:30:56.05 I was a part of the group that that started glow back in 2007, 00:30:56.08\00:31:01.39 and here's this friend of mine saying, 00:31:01.42\00:31:03.19 "Let's go glow 00:31:03.22\00:31:04.66 and put literature on all the cars 00:31:04.69\00:31:06.33 of the entire parking lot before I go to bed," 00:31:06.36\00:31:08.60 you know, and that's just the heart that she had, 00:31:08.63\00:31:11.47 you know, for ministry. 00:31:11.50\00:31:13.03 And, you know, she passed away unfortunately, 00:31:13.07\00:31:16.30 she had cardiac arrest, she's a young woman, 00:31:16.34\00:31:18.81 she passed away. 00:31:18.84\00:31:20.98 But she was a powerful example. 00:31:21.01\00:31:23.01 And we showcased her at iShare actually. 00:31:23.04\00:31:26.18 When her brothers and family came and, 00:31:26.21\00:31:30.99 you know, we featured them at iShare and when, 00:31:31.02\00:31:34.92 after she had passed away, the day she had passed away, 00:31:34.96\00:31:39.56 she had been reading her Bible, 00:31:39.59\00:31:42.03 and when the family had gotten back to her apartment 00:31:42.06\00:31:44.70 where she stayed, the Bible was open to Amos, 00:31:44.73\00:31:48.17 the fourth chapter 00:31:48.20\00:31:49.87 and highlighted there was verse 12, 00:31:49.90\00:31:52.14 you know, "Prepared to meet thy God..." 00:31:52.17\00:31:53.51 as we see, you know, 00:31:53.58\00:31:54.91 Amos is talking to Israel in that chapter 00:31:54.94\00:31:57.35 and I would strongly suggest 00:31:57.38\00:31:58.71 to our viewers to go back and read Amos 4, 00:31:58.75\00:32:01.35 but verse 12 was highlighted the day 00:32:01.38\00:32:04.19 she had passed away. 00:32:04.22\00:32:05.55 It's the essence of evangeliving, 00:32:05.59\00:32:07.36 you know, to the very end to find 00:32:07.39\00:32:09.86 that love in God's grace, essentially to find that, 00:32:09.89\00:32:12.93 you know that heart changing. 00:32:12.96\00:32:14.30 She really exemplified that. 00:32:14.33\00:32:15.90 She was a blessing in real life 00:32:15.93\00:32:19.97 and essentially to our team. 00:32:20.04\00:32:21.57 And really, that's the kind of mindset that really 00:32:21.60\00:32:24.61 fueled the startup of iShare essentially. 00:32:24.64\00:32:27.28 You know, it's always sad to see 00:32:27.31\00:32:28.91 a bright light like that go out, 00:32:28.94\00:32:31.05 but we know that she's resting in Jesus, 00:32:31.08\00:32:34.65 resting in peace, and that she will be part 00:32:34.68\00:32:39.12 of that first resurrection, 00:32:39.15\00:32:40.89 I mean, He comes back 00:32:40.96\00:32:42.96 and calls out the names of the righteous. 00:32:42.99\00:32:46.73 And it's just our prayer too that the work 00:32:46.80\00:32:50.40 that she would have done that we can do. 00:32:50.47\00:32:53.74 I want to make a point here 00:32:53.77\00:32:55.10 because I think it's very important. 00:32:55.14\00:32:57.04 There are those special people 00:32:57.11\00:33:00.61 that truly are living the life of evangelism. 00:33:00.68\00:33:05.78 And they are an inspiration to each one of us. 00:33:05.81\00:33:10.02 Sometimes you might think you're kidding, 00:33:10.09\00:33:13.46 get up and go out at midnight to put glow tracts. 00:33:13.49\00:33:17.86 What a blessing. Yeah. 00:33:17.89\00:33:19.86 And they will be rewarded, you know, and... 00:33:19.89\00:33:24.80 They will. 00:33:24.83\00:33:26.17 I mean, I've got some friends that they're just becoming 00:33:26.20\00:33:28.84 some of my best friends that are on fire for Jesus. 00:33:28.87\00:33:32.94 Sometimes we forget, you know, that, 00:33:32.97\00:33:35.48 well, let's rise to the occasion. 00:33:35.51\00:33:37.95 But this is who they are, evangelism, 00:33:37.98\00:33:40.62 that's a great, great term. 00:33:40.65\00:33:42.55 Evangeliving. 00:33:42.58\00:33:44.29 And, JD, you know, oftentimes, 00:33:44.32\00:33:46.59 we all have that temptation of in essence, 00:33:46.62\00:33:49.39 you know, becoming complacent. 00:33:49.42\00:33:50.76 And so I will say this, not only for the young people, 00:33:50.83\00:33:53.40 but maybe there's people out there 00:33:53.43\00:33:54.76 just looking to rekindle 00:33:54.80\00:33:56.67 that burning fire and that's, 00:33:56.70\00:33:58.40 I guess what I'm describing when I use this word passion 00:33:58.43\00:34:01.67 because you know what? 00:34:01.70\00:34:03.04 When you have that passion, you will go out at midnight, 00:34:03.07\00:34:05.67 you know, and share. 00:34:05.71\00:34:07.31 You don't think, you just do. 00:34:07.38\00:34:09.68 You're driven by compassion essentially to go out 00:34:09.71\00:34:12.88 and to evangelize essentially and that's the essence of it. 00:34:12.91\00:34:16.55 Okay, so as director of programming, 00:34:16.58\00:34:19.05 tell us about your process, I mean, how are you... 00:34:19.09\00:34:22.69 I noticed on your Carlton Byrd and some others 00:34:22.72\00:34:25.76 that were on your... 00:34:25.79\00:34:27.13 Jerry Page was in there. 00:34:27.20\00:34:28.53 Jerry Page, some of our friends, 00:34:28.56\00:34:30.97 how do you select the speakers 00:34:31.00\00:34:34.27 who are going to come and address? 00:34:34.30\00:34:35.64 Wow, great question. 00:34:35.67\00:34:37.01 Well, it starts with brilliant minds 00:34:37.04\00:34:38.51 like Heidi where, 00:34:38.54\00:34:39.87 you know, can bounce ideas off Heidi, 00:34:39.91\00:34:42.08 Mike, Danny, Zach, Priscilla, Aaron, you know, 00:34:42.11\00:34:46.15 I can just kind of bounce ideas off our E-com team, 00:34:46.18\00:34:49.75 and there we look for speakers 00:34:49.78\00:34:53.09 that really highlight the topic, 00:34:53.12\00:34:55.99 because really, you know, in essence, 00:34:56.02\00:34:57.63 we want to keep the conference mission 00:34:57.66\00:34:59.69 and vision focused. 00:34:59.73\00:35:01.06 And I think, if we can do that, 00:35:01.10\00:35:02.43 just like in any organization or business, 00:35:02.46\00:35:04.07 if you can keep that vision highlighted, 00:35:04.10\00:35:06.84 then hopefully it'll serve in its intended purpose. 00:35:06.87\00:35:09.84 And so often we've looked, we've had numerous speakers, 00:35:09.87\00:35:14.61 some that our viewers 00:35:14.64\00:35:15.98 may be familiar with Pastor Carlton Byrd 00:35:16.01\00:35:18.78 from Oakwood University, Breath of Life Ministry. 00:35:18.81\00:35:21.52 We've had Pastor John Bradshaw from It Is Written. 00:35:21.55\00:35:25.55 We've had Pastor El Kando who frequents iShare, 00:35:25.59\00:35:29.69 we're always excited to have him there. 00:35:29.72\00:35:32.36 We've also had a breakout seminars 00:35:32.39\00:35:34.93 like that of David Kim from Nicodemus Society. 00:35:34.96\00:35:39.87 And this year, Cynthia Heidi from Nicodemus Society, 00:35:39.90\00:35:43.41 who go out and minister to the three W's, 00:35:43.44\00:35:46.81 who they call the three W's, 00:35:46.88\00:35:48.48 the wealthy, the worldly, and the well-educated. 00:35:48.51\00:35:52.21 It's a group and we think ministry 00:35:52.25\00:35:53.62 and we think, you know, 00:35:53.65\00:35:54.98 let's go overseas, but right next to us, 00:35:55.02\00:35:57.85 there may be someone who needs Jesus more than, 00:35:57.89\00:36:00.19 you know, and so we've had breakout seminars like that. 00:36:00.26\00:36:05.09 Additionally this year we have 00:36:05.13\00:36:07.30 Clifford Goldstein might be another name 00:36:07.33\00:36:08.96 that our viewers have heard mentioned 00:36:09.00\00:36:14.04 and Dr. Joseph Kidder, Dr. Eric Walsh, 00:36:14.07\00:36:18.34 you know, people who really come 00:36:18.37\00:36:19.71 and not only share, 00:36:19.74\00:36:22.91 you know, in terms of their walk with the Lord, 00:36:22.94\00:36:25.48 or their... 00:36:25.51\00:36:26.85 essentially the vision, but they really share 00:36:26.92\00:36:28.98 the experience and, you know, 00:36:29.02\00:36:30.89 sometimes you don't need someone to tell you 00:36:30.92\00:36:34.46 how to do something but why? 00:36:34.49\00:36:38.16 Someone told me that once they said, 00:36:38.19\00:36:39.53 you know, there's two types of people in this world. 00:36:39.56\00:36:40.90 There are those who know how to accomplish certain task. 00:36:40.93\00:36:44.20 They'll always have a job in this world. 00:36:44.27\00:36:46.47 But second, 00:36:46.50\00:36:47.97 there's a second group of people 00:36:48.00\00:36:49.87 who not only know how to accomplish that task, 00:36:49.90\00:36:53.38 but why they're doing it. 00:36:53.41\00:36:55.81 Those will always be the bosses and leaders of this world. 00:36:55.84\00:36:58.31 Let's just say in the business world. 00:36:58.35\00:37:00.42 But in the Christian community, if you're just driven by how, 00:37:00.45\00:37:05.05 it's a very rocky experience, the seed that's, you know, 00:37:05.09\00:37:07.99 planted on rocky soil, if I can call it that, 00:37:08.02\00:37:10.73 but when you know why 00:37:10.76\00:37:12.09 when you're motivated by that why, 00:37:12.13\00:37:13.46 that's when once again 00:37:13.50\00:37:14.83 that passion comes into play. 00:37:14.86\00:37:16.20 And so it really helps to bring that speaker experience. 00:37:16.23\00:37:19.50 'Cause a lot of the speakers have 00:37:19.53\00:37:20.87 such also powerful testimonies where they come to say, 00:37:20.94\00:37:23.14 you know, this was my walk. 00:37:23.17\00:37:24.74 And then you know, the individual, the attendees, 00:37:24.77\00:37:26.68 you know, assesses and says, 00:37:26.71\00:37:28.04 "Wow, if he can do it, so can I, why not?" 00:37:28.08\00:37:31.41 All we have to do is just, you know, start essentially, 00:37:31.45\00:37:34.12 and start walking with the Lord and see what comes. 00:37:34.15\00:37:36.02 When you say, breakaway sessions. 00:37:36.05\00:37:37.79 What is that... Is that during the two days? 00:37:37.82\00:37:40.66 Yeah. 00:37:40.69\00:37:42.02 So you have five or six of those breakaways 00:37:42.06\00:37:43.83 that you get to choose or how does that work? 00:37:43.86\00:37:46.43 Correct. Thanks for clarifying. 00:37:46.46\00:37:49.33 The format is always the same. 00:37:49.36\00:37:53.64 We just try and kind of make, 00:37:53.67\00:37:55.14 you know, throw in things that make it, 00:37:55.17\00:37:56.60 you know, cutting edge or unique, 00:37:56.64\00:37:57.97 whether it be topics or different speakers, 00:37:58.01\00:38:00.41 but essentially you're going to come on that Friday 00:38:00.48\00:38:03.04 and you're going to hear a wonderful testimony, 00:38:03.08\00:38:05.08 Sabbath morning, you're going to hear a wonderful, 00:38:05.11\00:38:08.48 you know, sermon, divine hour sermon. 00:38:08.52\00:38:10.79 And then in the afternoon, we have breakout seminars. 00:38:10.82\00:38:14.69 Typically we have multiple breakout seminars 00:38:14.72\00:38:17.69 where you can come and really kind of, 00:38:17.73\00:38:20.40 you know, move away from the bigger conference, 00:38:20.43\00:38:23.26 auditorium to more of an intimate environment 00:38:23.30\00:38:25.80 where you can really connect, 00:38:25.83\00:38:27.44 you know, get down on the whiteboard, really, 00:38:27.47\00:38:29.67 you know, just kind of break certain concepts down 00:38:29.70\00:38:32.81 with the speakers individually. 00:38:32.84\00:38:34.28 And so it's an awesome way to not only get to know 00:38:34.31\00:38:36.75 and network with the speakers themselves, 00:38:36.78\00:38:39.11 but to really have more time 00:38:39.15\00:38:41.35 to delve in a little bit deeper into their content. 00:38:41.38\00:38:44.52 So we do have breakouts as well in the afternoon. 00:38:44.55\00:38:46.35 Very practical, they're practical hands-on, 00:38:46.39\00:38:50.03 you know, where kids can take the inspiration 00:38:50.06\00:38:53.26 and really dig down and say, "How am I going to do this?" 00:38:53.29\00:38:55.90 Not before they were growing at that particular time. 00:38:55.93\00:38:58.97 Yeah. 00:38:59.00\00:39:00.34 I notice that Zach Page 00:39:00.37\00:39:01.87 is director of your prayer ministry. 00:39:01.90\00:39:04.91 What does that mean? 00:39:04.94\00:39:06.27 Yeah, yeah. 00:39:06.31\00:39:07.64 We have a powerful prayer ministry 00:39:07.68\00:39:09.01 or prayer room every year at iShare. 00:39:09.04\00:39:12.41 And this last year, it was powerful. 00:39:12.45\00:39:14.85 Extremely. 00:39:14.88\00:39:16.22 Yeah, did you walk in there, see them? 00:39:16.25\00:39:19.12 You know, when you have an idea, 00:39:19.15\00:39:20.76 you know, we're sitting in our board meeting, 00:39:20.79\00:39:22.62 if you will, and, you know, love Zach, you know, 00:39:22.66\00:39:27.43 such a humble guy, 00:39:27.50\00:39:29.33 such a faithful effort and he's, 00:39:29.36\00:39:32.37 you know, we need a prayer room, he says. 00:39:32.40\00:39:34.97 And, you know, 00:39:35.00\00:39:36.34 little did we think it was going to be, 00:39:36.37\00:39:37.71 you know, a war room really, you know, it was a... 00:39:37.74\00:39:40.41 I'll tell you we walked into that 00:39:40.48\00:39:42.44 and what the Lord did in that room 00:39:42.48\00:39:47.32 was just incredible. 00:39:47.35\00:39:50.19 As we, as, you know, people pray together, 00:39:50.22\00:39:51.62 as people, you know, cry together, 00:39:51.65\00:39:53.69 people are going through real struggles. 00:39:53.76\00:39:55.89 And sometimes you need that prayer room, 00:39:55.92\00:39:57.89 sometimes you just need that community 00:39:57.93\00:40:00.20 to really dive in deep sometimes 00:40:00.23\00:40:03.77 within ourselves to find, 00:40:03.80\00:40:06.20 to really see, you know, 00:40:06.23\00:40:07.57 what, how, essentially how God is speaking to us. 00:40:07.64\00:40:11.67 And really it was a powerful way 00:40:11.71\00:40:13.91 for people to really self-reflect 00:40:13.98\00:40:15.74 as well in that prayer room. 00:40:15.78\00:40:17.15 What I love about a prayer room is that, 00:40:17.18\00:40:20.12 I don't know anyone who has, 00:40:20.15\00:40:23.08 like, I can remember even when we were speaking 00:40:23.12\00:40:25.35 at the Central California Conference camp meeting, 00:40:25.39\00:40:28.49 you know, you walk into the prayer room, 00:40:28.52\00:40:30.76 and God becomes very real, 00:40:30.83\00:40:32.79 prayer becomes very real, you know. 00:40:32.83\00:40:35.56 It's a fantastic word, community. 00:40:35.60\00:40:39.57 The community of our prayer group. 00:40:39.60\00:40:42.17 What a powerful... Yeah. 00:40:42.20\00:40:44.84 How powerful is that? 00:40:44.87\00:40:46.91 I mean, likeminded people, a community. 00:40:46.98\00:40:49.34 Yes. 00:40:49.38\00:40:50.75 JD, and I'll tell you, there's no one 00:40:50.78\00:40:52.11 who walked out of that prayer room the same. 00:40:52.15\00:40:54.42 There is not one... 00:40:54.45\00:40:55.78 I guarantee you there was, you know, 00:40:55.82\00:40:57.19 there were testimonies shared in that room, 00:40:57.22\00:40:59.69 powerful prayer spoken in that room. 00:40:59.72\00:41:01.36 There's no one who left that room the same. 00:41:01.39\00:41:02.79 I can guarantee that. 00:41:02.82\00:41:04.16 I think one of the reasons too, if I can interject, 00:41:04.23\00:41:07.00 one of the reasons why we love the prayer room, 00:41:07.03\00:41:09.63 is because we realize a revival can only come in 00:41:09.66\00:41:12.47 answered prayer. 00:41:12.50\00:41:13.94 And so we know like, if we don't have prayer 00:41:13.97\00:41:16.20 as a component of our conference, 00:41:16.24\00:41:18.24 you know, we're just focusing on the how, 00:41:18.27\00:41:20.18 we're just going out there giving practical tips to, 00:41:20.21\00:41:23.75 you know, someone who's not experiencing it. 00:41:23.78\00:41:26.48 You know, people who do things without prayer. 00:41:26.51\00:41:28.25 It's interesting, sometimes people will start a project, 00:41:28.28\00:41:30.99 they pray about it. 00:41:31.02\00:41:32.35 But it's more like, "Okay, God, here's our plan, you bless it." 00:41:32.39\00:41:36.86 But when you learn to pray through a project, 00:41:36.93\00:41:40.10 then it's quite the different... 00:41:40.13\00:41:42.23 It's God leading step by step. It's dynamic. 00:41:42.26\00:41:43.87 Oh, it is. 00:41:43.90\00:41:45.23 You take the community 00:41:45.27\00:41:46.60 and then He multiplies the community. 00:41:46.63\00:41:48.17 Yes. Multiplies it. 00:41:48.20\00:41:50.71 And I just want to say for our viewers, 00:41:50.74\00:41:52.94 if you are wanting to see where the next conference is, 00:41:52.97\00:41:57.35 just go to iShareConference.org. 00:41:57.38\00:42:02.98 iShare, 00:42:03.02\00:42:04.39 iShareConference.org. 00:42:04.42\00:42:10.13 And you can get the information. 00:42:10.16\00:42:11.86 Before... 00:42:11.89\00:42:13.23 We're quickly running out of time. 00:42:13.26\00:42:15.13 I just want to make sure that 00:42:15.16\00:42:16.50 you got Michael Carter's testimony in here 00:42:16.53\00:42:20.94 and tell us about some, 00:42:20.97\00:42:23.30 just give us some examples of people 00:42:23.34\00:42:25.54 who are coming and what God is doing? 00:42:25.57\00:42:27.58 Sure, absolutely. 00:42:27.61\00:42:29.18 So just a little background and then I know Weston 00:42:29.21\00:42:31.28 and I both had, we're on the edge of our seats 00:42:31.31\00:42:33.82 wanting to share these testimonies. 00:42:33.85\00:42:36.08 But Michael Carter actually 00:42:36.12\00:42:37.99 is involved in a high school public campus ministry, 00:42:38.02\00:42:42.26 where they run these clubs on high school campuses 00:42:42.29\00:42:45.16 called Bread of Life Club, 00:42:45.19\00:42:47.23 and they run them 00:42:47.30\00:42:48.63 on 10 public high school campuses right now. 00:42:48.66\00:42:51.10 They've been able to mentor over 500 young people 00:42:51.13\00:42:53.27 in the last five years. 00:42:53.34\00:42:54.77 And I guess they go on field trips, and they... 00:42:54.80\00:42:57.51 One of their field trips 00:42:57.54\00:42:58.87 is bringing these kids to iShare. 00:42:58.91\00:43:01.78 Interestingly enough, out of talking to his kids 00:43:01.81\00:43:04.85 after going all these field trips, 00:43:04.88\00:43:06.65 the one that inspired them the most was actually iShare. 00:43:06.72\00:43:10.02 That was the one that they said 00:43:10.09\00:43:11.42 was the most inspiring of all the prayer conferences 00:43:11.45\00:43:14.06 and camp meetings that they had gone to. 00:43:14.09\00:43:16.09 And there're some powerful testimonies. 00:43:16.12\00:43:18.09 You want to tell that one about that 16 year old? 00:43:18.13\00:43:20.63 You know, there was this young 16 year old man 00:43:20.70\00:43:23.77 who walked up and responded to an appeal. 00:43:23.80\00:43:27.04 And at the time, he was just a student 00:43:27.07\00:43:29.47 at a public school campus, attending a Christian club. 00:43:29.50\00:43:33.38 And, you know, he walked, he came... 00:43:33.41\00:43:35.21 Was he a Christian or of a different denomination? 00:43:35.24\00:43:38.18 He was just a Christian, yeah. 00:43:38.21\00:43:39.85 Okay. Yeah, he was Christian. 00:43:39.88\00:43:41.55 Christian denomination. Okay. 00:43:41.58\00:43:42.92 Yeah. 00:43:42.95\00:43:44.29 And he came, you know, 00:43:44.32\00:43:45.65 really looking for that sense of revival 00:43:45.69\00:43:47.06 in his life and sure enough, responded to an appeal. 00:43:47.09\00:43:48.99 And it was shortly thereafter that the Lord had big plans 00:43:49.02\00:43:52.79 for him to preach his first evangelistic series. 00:43:52.83\00:43:57.07 But it gets better than that, because as we know, 00:43:57.10\00:43:59.53 you know, obviously finances that go into, 00:43:59.57\00:44:02.54 you know, funding an evangelistic series to, 00:44:02.57\00:44:04.61 you know, to run the event 00:44:04.64\00:44:06.88 and to market the event, well, how do you... 00:44:06.91\00:44:10.05 Who funded that first evangelistic series? 00:44:10.08\00:44:13.11 So the guy who funded the first evangelist series 00:44:13.15\00:44:15.88 was also a student who comes to the club, 00:44:15.92\00:44:19.02 who's Muslim. 00:44:19.05\00:44:20.39 He also came to iShare two years ago, 00:44:20.46\00:44:22.79 and he came forward for an appeal 00:44:22.82\00:44:24.43 and accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior. 00:44:24.46\00:44:27.50 And he believes that Jesus is God, 00:44:27.53\00:44:29.93 you know, and he's excited during Ramadan, 00:44:29.96\00:44:33.54 his faith community encouraged him to do good works 00:44:33.57\00:44:36.57 and for his good work he went to a state college 00:44:36.60\00:44:39.61 and he gave a presentation on how the Sabbath was changed 00:44:39.64\00:44:44.15 from Saturday to Sunday. 00:44:44.18\00:44:45.58 And he gave that presentation 00:44:45.61\00:44:47.52 'cause he fully believes in the Sabbath, 00:44:47.55\00:44:49.28 seventh day Sabbath of the Lord. 00:44:49.32\00:44:51.62 And so it's really powerful to see him 00:44:51.65\00:44:53.99 and get excited at iShare 00:44:54.06\00:44:55.56 and then he paid for the 16 year old 00:44:55.59\00:44:57.79 to go preach in an evangelistic series. 00:44:57.83\00:44:59.93 Amazing. I know. 00:45:00.00\00:45:02.76 We were amazed to hear that story 00:45:02.80\00:45:04.87 coming from Mike Carter, you know. 00:45:04.90\00:45:07.54 And he personally had an experience as well 00:45:07.57\00:45:09.94 at his own college campus, the young man did, 00:45:10.01\00:45:16.04 who funded the evangelistic series. 00:45:16.08\00:45:19.85 He was given an opportunity 00:45:19.88\00:45:21.22 to give a presentation in class. 00:45:21.25\00:45:23.49 And, you know, he could have chosen any topic, 00:45:23.52\00:45:27.36 but he chose to talk about 00:45:27.39\00:45:29.16 the change of the Sabbath, essentially. 00:45:29.19\00:45:31.93 And for our viewers, you know, listening, 00:45:31.96\00:45:34.43 there's great resources I'm sure that 3ABN has on, 00:45:34.46\00:45:37.00 you know, on the Sabbath, 00:45:37.07\00:45:38.40 essentially, and he was so inspiring. 00:45:38.43\00:45:40.64 We should... 00:45:40.67\00:45:42.00 I think we always need to say that 00:45:42.04\00:45:43.94 it was people who thought to change 00:45:44.01\00:45:47.48 the Sabbath to Sunday... 00:45:47.51\00:45:49.11 Yes, yes. 'Cause God never changed. 00:45:49.14\00:45:51.18 Yeah, yeah. 00:45:51.21\00:45:52.88 So this young man then, 00:45:52.91\00:45:55.35 he had not been an Adventist Christian 00:45:55.38\00:45:57.92 but he was revived, he accepted the Sabbath truth. 00:45:57.95\00:46:01.79 And now he is preaching that, teaching that to his class. 00:46:01.82\00:46:06.49 That's amazing. 00:46:06.53\00:46:08.13 There's another story that came out of that too, 00:46:08.16\00:46:10.57 a high school student. 00:46:10.60\00:46:11.97 I invited his older brother to come to iShare. 00:46:12.00\00:46:15.20 He had tried to get his older brother to come 00:46:15.24\00:46:17.11 to the high school club meetings. 00:46:17.14\00:46:18.97 He said, "They're so cool, you've got to come," 00:46:19.01\00:46:21.04 you know, but his brother had never gone. 00:46:21.08\00:46:23.45 And he came to iShare, it's his first club outing. 00:46:23.48\00:46:28.15 Before the weekend was even over, 00:46:28.18\00:46:29.82 he came to Michael Carter, 00:46:29.85\00:46:31.52 the coordinator of this ministry, 00:46:31.55\00:46:33.29 and he said "Uncle Mike, 00:46:33.36\00:46:34.82 I've never come to your club meetings 00:46:34.86\00:46:36.26 before because I'm an atheist." 00:46:36.29\00:46:38.36 But he said, "After coming here today," 00:46:38.39\00:46:40.80 he said, "I realized that I want to become 00:46:40.83\00:46:43.10 a Seventh-day Adventist Christian." 00:46:43.13\00:46:45.20 He said, "I want what these young people have." 00:46:45.23\00:46:47.64 Wow! Yeah. 00:46:47.67\00:46:49.14 That gave me chills. Powerful, I know. I know. 00:46:49.17\00:46:51.77 Powerful, amazing stories of young people 00:46:51.81\00:46:54.08 that are honestly be coming on fire for Jesus at iShare 00:46:54.11\00:46:58.28 and then going through the year doing things during the year. 00:46:58.31\00:47:00.82 You know, that tells me that, I mean, there's no speaker 00:47:00.85\00:47:03.42 that can do that. 00:47:03.49\00:47:04.82 It's only the Holy Spirit. 00:47:04.85\00:47:06.19 So it's being bathed in prayer 00:47:06.22\00:47:08.49 and having the anointing of the Lord, 00:47:08.52\00:47:10.86 and seeing God move in such a powerful way. 00:47:10.93\00:47:15.33 All right, before we end this, 00:47:15.36\00:47:19.57 I want to know personally how, 00:47:19.60\00:47:24.31 share with us 00:47:24.34\00:47:25.84 how this experience has changed you, 00:47:25.87\00:47:29.01 Weston, being involved with iShare? 00:47:29.04\00:47:31.28 Oh, great question. 00:47:31.31\00:47:32.81 You know, Shelley, and I guess you're getting 00:47:32.85\00:47:35.08 the exclusive here first, but, you know, 00:47:35.12\00:47:38.52 a few years back, 00:47:38.55\00:47:40.26 you know, I was just, everything was getting so busy, 00:47:40.29\00:47:42.59 so hectic, you know, how life can be, 00:47:42.62\00:47:44.96 you know, student and, you know, trying to, 00:47:44.99\00:47:46.93 you know, find your way in the world 00:47:47.00\00:47:49.20 and all these things, you know, 00:47:49.23\00:47:50.57 in terms of career path, and I was like, 00:47:50.60\00:47:53.87 you know, overwhelming 00:47:53.94\00:47:55.27 and thinking about moving on from iShare and, 00:47:55.30\00:47:59.41 you know, I thought about that same question three years ago, 00:47:59.44\00:48:03.11 and I haven't shared this with anyone, 00:48:03.14\00:48:04.48 I thought about this same question three years ago. 00:48:04.51\00:48:06.72 And I said, you know, iShare has been a life changing 00:48:06.75\00:48:12.12 component in my life 00:48:12.15\00:48:13.96 from the people I get to work with 00:48:13.99\00:48:15.69 to the people I get to connect with, 00:48:15.72\00:48:17.76 of course, to the messages 00:48:17.79\00:48:19.13 and the breakouts and the, you know, the information, 00:48:19.16\00:48:20.73 the content that you're gathering, 00:48:20.80\00:48:22.73 but it's the experience of iShare 00:48:22.76\00:48:24.87 that I really want to convey because it's not something 00:48:24.90\00:48:28.20 that I can verbally describe, it's something that you really 00:48:28.24\00:48:30.41 just have to come to the conference 00:48:30.44\00:48:31.77 and really just engulf yourself in the conference 00:48:31.81\00:48:34.74 and just come with an open mind 00:48:34.78\00:48:36.34 and open heart like I did. 00:48:36.38\00:48:38.08 I'm sure Heidi has, and just to see 00:48:38.11\00:48:40.12 how the Lord's speaking to you and it was at that point 00:48:40.15\00:48:42.48 of self-reflection where I said, 00:48:42.52\00:48:46.22 you know, this is just, this is going places, 00:48:46.25\00:48:49.72 God is using iShare to not only change 00:48:49.76\00:48:55.00 the lives of young people like myself, 00:48:55.03\00:48:57.47 but essentially to bring together 00:48:57.50\00:49:00.64 the church even if you will, if I can use this, 00:49:00.67\00:49:03.81 and this is one of the things that lately has really 00:49:03.84\00:49:06.47 just touched my heart if I can share. 00:49:06.51\00:49:10.75 We've had over six conference presidents 00:49:10.78\00:49:12.68 represented at iShare and, 00:49:12.71\00:49:15.95 you know, how it is with any organization, 00:49:15.98\00:49:17.62 there's always going to be a need for conflict resolution, 00:49:17.65\00:49:20.36 there's always going to be a need, 00:49:20.39\00:49:21.72 there's always going to be, 00:49:21.76\00:49:23.09 you know, tides changing and turning 00:49:23.12\00:49:24.46 but iShare has been that solace, 00:49:24.49\00:49:27.10 that piece of the service you will for a lot of people 00:49:27.13\00:49:30.67 and even a lot of people involved in the church. 00:49:30.70\00:49:33.10 They come, they look forward to coming 00:49:33.13\00:49:34.87 and spending time at iShare, 00:49:34.90\00:49:36.64 it may be the one place, I mean, of course, 00:49:36.71\00:49:38.91 there's other places as well, but that really brings together 00:49:38.94\00:49:42.28 so many different Christian, 00:49:42.31\00:49:44.81 so many different Christian people 00:49:44.85\00:49:46.18 from different churches, and different backgrounds, 00:49:46.21\00:49:48.75 and different areas, and I'm thinking, 00:49:48.78\00:49:51.02 wow, what a blessing 00:49:51.05\00:49:53.79 to be a part of that experience. 00:49:53.86\00:49:55.62 I'm just humbled that I'm a part of something like that. 00:49:55.66\00:49:58.69 It really, you know, it's interesting. 00:49:58.73\00:50:00.10 Amen. 00:50:00.13\00:50:01.46 Every day, you know, it works its way, 00:50:01.50\00:50:03.00 that power works its way into my heart. 00:50:03.03\00:50:04.37 Great testimony. 00:50:04.40\00:50:05.73 How about for you, 00:50:05.77\00:50:07.14 how has it changed you personally? 00:50:07.17\00:50:09.94 I think it has deepened the burden in my heart 00:50:10.01\00:50:14.34 for multiplication 00:50:14.38\00:50:18.85 of active evangeliving young people. 00:50:18.88\00:50:21.58 Because every time I go, I see more attendees coming 00:50:21.62\00:50:25.62 and it just fuels the fire in my heart to keep sharing 00:50:25.65\00:50:30.13 because I realized that I can't do it alone, 00:50:30.16\00:50:33.40 you can't do it alone but we can do it together, 00:50:33.43\00:50:35.86 you know, and the more we can multiply, 00:50:35.90\00:50:39.40 and just grow that community, like JD was talking about, 00:50:39.43\00:50:44.91 that's what has changed my heart more 00:50:44.94\00:50:47.48 just seeing the fact that it is growing. 00:50:47.51\00:50:49.91 There are young people 00:50:49.94\00:50:51.28 that are living a life like this, 00:50:51.31\00:50:53.31 that we don't have to just sit at home dead in our hearts, 00:50:53.35\00:50:56.45 you know, the Lord can revive us 00:50:56.48\00:50:58.19 and then use us. 00:50:58.22\00:50:59.55 You know, I know that 00:50:59.59\00:51:00.96 you're looking at the multiplication, 00:51:00.99\00:51:02.32 but actually it is, you are also preventing 00:51:02.36\00:51:07.43 the subtraction if you will because I know that 00:51:07.50\00:51:11.07 a lot of young people are, 00:51:11.10\00:51:14.37 you know, in many different denominations, 00:51:14.40\00:51:17.61 young people are heading 00:51:17.64\00:51:18.97 out the back door of the church. 00:51:19.01\00:51:20.88 And I think the problem is that young people 00:51:20.91\00:51:24.91 today want to be involved, 00:51:24.95\00:51:26.82 they want to have responsibility, 00:51:26.85\00:51:30.12 but it's when they learn the love of the Lord 00:51:30.19\00:51:34.36 and they feel that security in Him 00:51:34.39\00:51:38.63 then they get so excited, they want to share. 00:51:38.66\00:51:42.43 So you're keeping in... 00:51:42.46\00:51:44.20 There's a retention of our youth 00:51:44.27\00:51:47.87 plus the multiplication. 00:51:47.90\00:51:49.30 Absolutely. You know, Shelley, I think... 00:51:49.34\00:51:51.74 And she brought up a great point. 00:51:51.77\00:51:53.17 I've been talking so much, I apologize, Heidi, 00:51:53.21\00:51:55.98 kind of into but I was going to say, 00:51:56.01\00:51:58.01 you know the thing about it is I don't think, 00:51:58.05\00:51:59.85 as a young person I say this, to me it's not the music, 00:51:59.88\00:52:03.62 to me it's not, you know, the name of the guy, 00:52:03.69\00:52:05.75 you know, preaching the sermon, I just want to be engaged, 00:52:05.79\00:52:08.79 I want to come and find something 00:52:08.82\00:52:10.16 that's going to exercise my mind 00:52:10.23\00:52:11.56 like in any relationship. 00:52:11.59\00:52:12.93 You want to continually, you know, 00:52:12.96\00:52:14.83 be leave it to the single guy to say this, right? 00:52:14.86\00:52:17.80 But you want to be with someone who continues to help you grow 00:52:17.83\00:52:21.94 and to continue to expand and challenge your mind 00:52:21.97\00:52:24.31 and that's what it is. 00:52:24.34\00:52:25.67 That's what I find interesting. 00:52:25.71\00:52:27.28 I don't need, you know, some music 00:52:27.31\00:52:29.41 that my friends think is cool. 00:52:29.44\00:52:30.85 I honestly just need to be engaged, 00:52:30.88\00:52:34.12 I need to find it interesting, I need to be interested 00:52:34.15\00:52:36.42 in what I'm learning and what I'm there for, 00:52:36.45\00:52:38.12 and we try and find cutting ways 00:52:38.15\00:52:41.82 to keep that interest level high. 00:52:41.86\00:52:44.13 What I now, what we want to do once again 00:52:44.16\00:52:46.36 is to put on the lower third 00:52:46.39\00:52:48.33 here you will see their website 00:52:48.36\00:52:51.87 is iShareConference.org. 00:52:51.90\00:52:57.31 iShareConference.org. 00:52:57.34\00:53:00.71 And you can go to the website 00:53:00.78\00:53:02.11 and learn more about the ministry 00:53:02.14\00:53:04.25 and find out about their August conferences. 00:53:04.28\00:53:07.22 These are annual conferences. 00:53:07.25\00:53:09.52 And also the Instagram is... 00:53:09.55\00:53:13.46 ishare_conference. 00:53:13.49\00:53:19.86 So if you want to get in touch with Heidi or with Weston 00:53:19.89\00:53:23.03 or anybody at iShare, 00:53:23.06\00:53:25.87 this is how you get in touch with them. 00:53:25.90\00:53:27.37 Well, we're going to be right back. 00:53:27.44\00:53:28.77 We need to go to our news break. 00:53:28.80\00:53:31.14 We'll be back for a closing comment. 00:53:31.17\00:53:33.01
