00:06:24.51\00:06:26.08 Well, you know, God has blessed 00:06:26.11\00:06:27.45 speaking of that Mayo opportunity, 00:06:27.52\00:06:29.35 you know, the interesting thing 00:06:29.38\00:06:30.72 as I was speaking on a Friday evening, 00:06:30.79\00:06:33.05 and it was before Sabbath, 00:06:33.09\00:06:36.26 but at the end of that presentation, 00:06:36.29\00:06:38.79 in fact, I had asked the people who had brought me, 00:06:38.83\00:06:41.73 I said, "You know, I don't travel on the Sabbath, 00:06:41.76\00:06:43.67 if you could get in touch with the Adventist Church, 00:06:43.70\00:06:45.47 they might be interested in me speaking there." 00:06:45.50\00:06:47.67 I didn't get in touch with them, 00:06:47.70\00:06:49.04 but they did. 00:06:49.07\00:06:50.41 And they actually helped to line up some things 00:06:50.44\00:06:53.17 that they want me to speak on there as well. 00:06:53.21\00:06:56.11 And so at the end of that presentation, 00:06:56.14\00:06:58.55 at Mayo the person who brought me there 00:06:58.58\00:07:01.45 who's not an Adventist, 00:07:01.48\00:07:02.82 but at Mayo he said, you know what? 00:07:02.85\00:07:05.42 You had to pay for this event to hear Dr. Nedley, 00:07:05.45\00:07:08.69 but tomorrow if you go 00:07:08.72\00:07:10.13 to the Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:07:10.16\00:07:12.16 where you can hear him for free four different times, 00:07:12.19\00:07:15.83 but you have to register online, 00:07:15.86\00:07:18.17 but it's free. 00:07:18.20\00:07:19.53 And so they had 170 visitors from the Mayo Clinic. 00:07:19.57\00:07:23.61 Oh, wow! 00:07:23.64\00:07:25.11 A hundred and seventy visitors? 00:07:25.14\00:07:26.47 A hundred and seventy visitors came to Mayo 00:07:26.51\00:07:29.71 and many of them stayed the whole day 00:07:29.74\00:07:31.81 for all four of those presentations. 00:07:31.85\00:07:34.25 And they were introduced 00:07:34.32\00:07:35.65 in not just the nutrition and medical side of things, 00:07:35.68\00:07:38.39 but the fact that the spiritual side 00:07:38.42\00:07:40.09 is so key and important. 00:07:40.16\00:07:41.49 Praise the Lord. 00:07:41.52\00:07:42.86 And so, yeah, they had never seen 00:07:42.89\00:07:44.23 the parking lot so full. 00:07:44.26\00:07:46.63 They had to park in all sorts of other places. 00:07:46.70\00:07:49.26 That's a good problem. 00:07:49.30\00:07:50.67 But it was exciting and many of them are physicians 00:07:50.70\00:07:52.57 and high-end people. 00:07:52.60\00:07:53.94 One of the physicians who's high-up in Mayo 00:07:53.97\00:07:55.70 was filming me the whole time and asked if he could film me 00:07:55.74\00:07:58.61 just to show me to his patients. 00:07:58.64\00:08:01.11 And he wanted to have that resource 00:08:01.14\00:08:03.75 for his patients avail. 00:08:03.78\00:08:05.11 Amen. 00:08:05.15\00:08:06.48 Amen. Praise the Lord. 00:08:06.51\00:08:07.85 God's done open those opportunities. 00:08:07.88\00:08:09.22 God's given you a gift, and to be able to use that gift 00:08:09.25\00:08:12.25 to help people, minister to doctors, 00:08:12.29\00:08:14.32 and lay people, and students, 00:08:14.36\00:08:15.96 speaking of students we wanna introduce. 00:08:15.99\00:08:17.66 Transition. 00:08:17.69\00:08:19.03 We'll introduce each one of you and then we'll come back 00:08:19.06\00:08:20.40 and hear some of your stories and what brought you to Weimar 00:08:20.43\00:08:23.47 and what your major is and all of that. 00:08:23.50\00:08:25.50 But we have Natalie Fish. 00:08:25.53\00:08:28.14 And then next to Natalie and, Natalie, 00:08:28.17\00:08:30.31 you are a natural science student. 00:08:30.34\00:08:33.07 And then next to you is Bailley Schmidt. 00:08:33.11\00:08:35.81 And, Bailey, you are theology, you've taken theology. 00:08:35.84\00:08:38.65 And then next to you is Matthew Loredo 00:08:38.68\00:08:41.48 and you're a nursing student. 00:08:41.52\00:08:42.85 Correct. 00:08:42.88\00:08:44.22 So let's, we'll do ladies first I guess. 00:08:44.29\00:08:46.39 Coming back to Natalie 00:08:46.42\00:08:48.19 and tell us what brought you to Weimar? 00:08:48.22\00:08:51.76 Well, the reason why I came to Weimar originally was to do 00:08:51.79\00:08:54.70 the four-month health program. 00:08:54.73\00:08:57.07 And what we pretty much learned in that program 00:08:57.10\00:08:59.90 is how to minister to people through health evangelism 00:08:59.93\00:09:03.14 and do community programs such as diabetes undone, 00:09:03.17\00:09:06.04 depression recovery, smoking cessation clinics. 00:09:06.07\00:09:10.05 So just different things like that. 00:09:10.08\00:09:11.48 And so at the end of that, 00:09:11.51\00:09:12.98 we get a certificate in health coaching. 00:09:13.01\00:09:16.55 So we work with patients during the program 00:09:16.58\00:09:19.89 like teaching them different things. 00:09:19.92\00:09:22.29 They can learn health wise... 00:09:22.32\00:09:23.66 So, you know, I was just talking, 00:09:23.73\00:09:25.06 thinking about this Weimar, so Weimar is where? 00:09:25.09\00:09:27.73 Are you from... 00:09:27.76\00:09:29.10 Well, tell us where Weimar is located first? 00:09:29.13\00:09:30.67 And anybody can jump in? 00:09:30.70\00:09:32.03 Yeah. 00:09:32.07\00:09:33.40 Weimar is located in the foothills of the Sierra, 00:09:33.44\00:09:36.07 in California, Northern California. 00:09:36.10\00:09:38.11 And, yeah, we're all from different places. 00:09:38.14\00:09:40.28 I'm from Washington. 00:09:40.31\00:09:41.64 Just gonna ask you, are you all from California then? 00:09:41.68\00:09:43.08 No. 00:09:43.11\00:09:44.45 I am. 00:09:44.48\00:09:45.81 You are? 00:09:45.85\00:09:47.22 Are you from California, Matthew? 00:09:47.25\00:09:48.58 I am from California. 00:09:48.62\00:09:49.95 What about you, Natalie? 00:09:49.98\00:09:51.32 I'm from Washington as well. 00:09:51.35\00:09:52.69 You're from Washington as well. Okay. 00:09:52.72\00:09:54.06 So that's a pretty part of the country to go to Weimar. 00:09:54.09\00:09:55.42 I've been there... 00:09:55.46\00:09:56.79 It was been a few years back, but it's beautiful. 00:09:56.83\00:09:58.16 Beautiful area. 00:09:58.19\00:09:59.53 So location is nice. 00:09:59.56\00:10:00.90 But then... 00:10:00.93\00:10:02.26 Yeah, continue on then, Natalie. 00:10:02.30\00:10:03.63 Yeah. 00:10:03.67\00:10:05.00 So anyway, after the end of that, 00:10:05.03\00:10:06.37 so we get the certificate and then I decided to stay on 00:10:06.40\00:10:08.27 and go through the natural science program 00:10:08.30\00:10:10.21 to be a dietitian. 00:10:10.24\00:10:11.81 So I'll get as many classes as I can 00:10:11.84\00:10:14.08 in from my prerequisites 00:10:14.11\00:10:15.44 and I hope to go to Loma Linda after that. 00:10:15.48\00:10:18.65 Become a doctor? 00:10:18.68\00:10:20.02 No, to be a dietitian. 00:10:20.05\00:10:21.38 A dietitian. Okay. 00:10:21.42\00:10:22.75 So the natural science program then would be like a feeder 00:10:22.78\00:10:24.79 for different types of degrees. 00:10:24.82\00:10:26.45 Would that be right? 00:10:26.49\00:10:27.82 Correct. 00:10:27.86\00:10:29.19 Yeah, you can do physical therapy. 00:10:29.22\00:10:30.56 You can do dentistry, pre-med. 00:10:30.63\00:10:34.00 Most of our natural science students 00:10:34.03\00:10:36.43 are there for pre-med or pre-dent. 00:10:36.46\00:10:38.60 But we have quite a few there for physical therapy 00:10:38.63\00:10:41.04 and some for dietitian or you can have, 00:10:41.07\00:10:43.41 you know, all sorts of different graduate avenues 00:10:43.44\00:10:46.78 that you can go to, some just get their masters 00:10:46.81\00:10:48.81 in public health and do just public health afterwards. 00:10:48.84\00:10:53.42 Now Weimar's made an educational, 00:10:53.45\00:10:55.15 I don't know if it's an educational shift, 00:10:55.18\00:10:56.79 but it's recently accredited, 00:10:56.82\00:10:58.75 and I don't even know how recently 00:10:58.79\00:11:00.66 it's been accredited 'cause I don't know that, 00:11:00.69\00:11:02.42 but it didn't used to be accredited. 00:11:02.46\00:11:04.13 And now it is. 00:11:04.16\00:11:05.49 So talk to us a little bit about that journey? 00:11:05.53\00:11:07.30 Yeah, it is recent, March of 2019... 00:11:07.33\00:11:09.73 Okay, so this recent. 00:11:09.76\00:11:11.10 When we were notified of our accreditation, 00:11:11.13\00:11:13.10 but they did something very unique 00:11:13.13\00:11:15.57 and that is they made it retroactive 00:11:15.60\00:11:18.44 for a year and a half, which is kind of unheard of. 00:11:18.47\00:11:21.58 So our previous graduates actually also graduated 00:11:21.61\00:11:25.65 from an accredited university 00:11:25.68\00:11:27.42 and this is the highest level of accreditation, 00:11:27.45\00:11:29.85 you can achieve in America. 00:11:29.88\00:11:31.75 It's called regional accreditation, Stanford. 00:11:31.79\00:11:35.22 Places like Harvard have regional accreditation. 00:11:35.26\00:11:37.43 Okay. 00:11:37.46\00:11:38.79 And so this is the highest level 00:11:38.83\00:11:40.20 that you can get 00:11:40.23\00:11:41.56 and it makes it a lot easier 00:11:41.60\00:11:42.93 as far as transferability for the students 00:11:42.96\00:11:45.10 and opening up a lot of avenues that way. 00:11:45.13\00:11:48.34 Praise the Lord. 00:11:48.37\00:11:49.70 You gonna say something? 00:11:49.74\00:11:52.01 Well, I guess so that's unique is that I guess three of us 00:11:52.04\00:11:56.11 all chose to come to Weimar before it was accredited 00:11:56.14\00:11:59.78 and there was a lot to do 00:11:59.81\00:12:01.72 with the principles and the values 00:12:01.75\00:12:03.89 that the institute stood for. 00:12:03.92\00:12:05.25 And what we saw there the education 00:12:05.29\00:12:07.46 and making that choice even before it was accredited. 00:12:07.49\00:12:10.13 And so now it's just, it's a blessing 00:12:10.16\00:12:11.73 from the Lord, I think, 00:12:11.76\00:12:13.26 and the way he's led the institute, so... 00:12:13.29\00:12:15.16 So you're a theology student. 00:12:15.20\00:12:16.53 Yes, I'm a theology student. 00:12:16.56\00:12:17.90 Why did you choose theology? 00:12:17.93\00:12:19.37 Why did I choose theology as a major? 00:12:19.40\00:12:21.67 Well, it kind of happened 00:12:21.70\00:12:24.21 through my academy experiences and growing up. 00:12:24.24\00:12:27.21 I've been around leadership 00:12:27.28\00:12:28.74 and involved in church ministries 00:12:28.78\00:12:30.35 through Pathfinders and different things. 00:12:30.38\00:12:33.11 And I had never heard of Weimar until going away to academy 00:12:33.15\00:12:37.89 and I was first introduced there 00:12:37.92\00:12:39.62 through health expo training, and I got to witness 00:12:39.65\00:12:43.86 the students and their lifestyle. 00:12:43.93\00:12:46.56 And one of the professors who came along and I was, 00:12:46.59\00:12:50.20 I saw something that, you know, just wasn't normal 00:12:50.27\00:12:52.53 from other colleges. 00:12:52.57\00:12:53.94 And I remember talking 00:12:53.97\00:12:56.57 to the one professor and he told me, 00:12:56.60\00:12:57.94 he's like if you want to be involved 00:12:57.97\00:12:59.31 in medical ministry come to Weimar 00:12:59.34\00:13:02.58 and through prayer and God opening doors clearly. 00:13:02.61\00:13:06.72 He's led me to Weimar to study theology. 00:13:06.75\00:13:09.48 And it's been a blessing to see how Bible based the program is. 00:13:09.52\00:13:12.42 Amen. 00:13:12.45\00:13:13.79 And how it upholds the Spirit of Prophecy. 00:13:13.86\00:13:15.19 It's just, it truly is a blessing to see that, 00:13:15.22\00:13:18.69 that at our institute. 00:13:18.73\00:13:20.80 So when you say, Bailley, you saw something there 00:13:20.83\00:13:22.73 that was not normal or that was different 00:13:22.76\00:13:25.20 as it were from the other colleges, 00:13:25.23\00:13:27.04 what set it apart? 00:13:27.07\00:13:28.47 I know you mentioned a few things here, 00:13:28.50\00:13:30.31 but what specifically in your mind set it apart? 00:13:30.34\00:13:33.04 Well, one of those was the spiritual focus 00:13:33.07\00:13:35.44 that the students, 00:13:35.48\00:13:37.85 you could tell that it wasn't just something 00:13:37.88\00:13:39.45 they were doing, 00:13:39.48\00:13:40.82 wasn't something they were faking 00:13:40.85\00:13:42.65 but it was, they had an experience. 00:13:42.68\00:13:44.92 And that was something that 00:13:44.95\00:13:46.29 I was blessed to go to a good academy, 00:13:46.32\00:13:48.62 but I wanted to continue that experience 00:13:48.66\00:13:51.63 outside of just my academy years 00:13:51.66\00:13:54.73 and so that was a huge thing. 00:13:54.76\00:13:57.27 Another thing is the practicality 00:13:57.30\00:13:58.63 of the program and we can touch on that more 00:13:58.67\00:14:00.47 but there's a lot of opportunities to get out 00:14:00.54\00:14:03.54 to not just be in the books 00:14:03.61\00:14:05.01 because education is so much more 00:14:05.04\00:14:06.91 than book knowledge. 00:14:06.98\00:14:09.48 It's the practical application. 00:14:09.51\00:14:10.85 And that's something that is unique to Weimar 00:14:10.88\00:14:13.85 and how much opportunity you have to do that. 00:14:13.92\00:14:16.62 Amen. 00:14:16.69\00:14:18.02 So then, Matthew, you're a nursing student? 00:14:18.05\00:14:20.26 I am. Yes, I'm a nursing student. 00:14:20.29\00:14:21.99 I just graduated. 00:14:22.02\00:14:23.36 In fact, I did 00:14:23.43\00:14:24.76 the associate's degree in nursing. 00:14:24.79\00:14:26.36 So it's one year pre-reqs, 00:14:26.39\00:14:27.73 and then two years of nursing school, 00:14:27.76\00:14:29.90 and you graduate 00:14:29.93\00:14:31.27 and you're able to take your board exam 00:14:31.30\00:14:32.90 so I'll be going back home soon to do that. 00:14:32.93\00:14:35.24 Amen. 00:14:35.27\00:14:36.60 Back to Washington. 00:14:36.64\00:14:37.97 Just enjoying it now. California. 00:14:38.01\00:14:39.34 Yeah. 00:14:39.37\00:14:40.71 Back to Washington, California. 00:14:40.78\00:14:42.11 You got it. 00:14:42.14\00:14:43.48 We're gonna get it together. 00:14:43.51\00:14:44.85 Yes. 00:14:44.88\00:14:46.21 I don't know have a test doctor... 00:14:46.25\00:14:47.75 Okay. 00:14:47.78\00:14:49.32 So you enjoy then the health field, 00:14:49.35\00:14:50.72 because I know we often talk about the health message 00:14:50.79\00:14:53.76 being the right arm of the gospel. 00:14:53.79\00:14:55.12 Right. Certainly. 00:14:55.16\00:14:56.49 So why did you decide to pick the health field 00:14:56.52\00:14:57.86 for that reason? 00:14:57.89\00:14:59.23 You know, definitely. 00:14:59.26\00:15:00.60 And, you know, something that was unique, 00:15:00.63\00:15:01.96 I think for me was growing up, my mom did 00:15:02.00\00:15:04.53 a lot of the depression, and recovery, anxiety programs 00:15:04.57\00:15:07.80 in our local church. 00:15:07.84\00:15:09.67 And she did it with a friend there. 00:15:09.70\00:15:11.54 And so seeing that growing up and just realizing 00:15:11.57\00:15:14.48 what a power there is in health evangelism, 00:15:14.51\00:15:16.78 I looked at Weimar and I realized that, 00:15:16.85\00:15:18.61 you know, I could go to any nursing school, 00:15:18.65\00:15:20.62 but that Weimar in particular would give me the opportunity 00:15:20.65\00:15:23.49 to learn from people like Dr. Nedley, 00:15:23.52\00:15:25.69 and be able to, you know, apply the knowledge 00:15:25.72\00:15:28.76 that I was learning directly during my clinicals there. 00:15:28.79\00:15:31.89 So it was very fun, it was unique to be able to, 00:15:31.93\00:15:34.00 you know, study disease, in my nursing textbooks, 00:15:34.03\00:15:36.77 and then at the same time study alongside it, 00:15:36.80\00:15:39.93 treatment from, 00:15:39.97\00:15:41.30 you know, principles found in the Spirit of Prophecy 00:15:41.34\00:15:42.87 in the Bible that could be used 00:15:42.90\00:15:44.97 instead to really impact these patients' lives, 00:15:45.01\00:15:47.28 and then to go to the hospital 00:15:47.31\00:15:48.64 and to apply it and to do that alongside, 00:15:48.68\00:15:50.68 you know, physicians and instructors 00:15:50.75\00:15:53.08 who had that is our primary goal. 00:15:53.11\00:15:55.45 So that was definitely unique 00:15:55.48\00:15:56.82 and something that I'm very grateful 00:15:56.89\00:15:58.49 for going on in my practice. 00:15:58.52\00:16:00.39 Matthew actually rotated with me 00:16:00.46\00:16:02.96 and a hospitalist shift at the local hospital. 00:16:02.99\00:16:08.20 And that was part of his clinical training. 00:16:08.23\00:16:10.07 So he doesn't just learn from nurses 00:16:10.10\00:16:12.80 as important as that is. 00:16:12.83\00:16:14.17 Right. 00:16:14.24\00:16:15.57 But he was able to learn from the physician perspective 00:16:15.60\00:16:18.27 and see how he related to the nurses 00:16:18.31\00:16:20.51 and see also how lifestyle 00:16:20.58\00:16:23.04 and spiritual interventions can work 00:16:23.08\00:16:24.91 in an acute care setting. 00:16:24.95\00:16:26.92 And that does make Weimar unique. 00:16:26.95\00:16:29.78 In the other places, the nurses don't have that opportunity. 00:16:29.82\00:16:33.09 How many classes do you teach, Dr. Nedley? 00:16:33.12\00:16:35.22 Well, I teach three, principles of health 00:16:35.26\00:16:38.06 and optimize your brain, 00:16:38.09\00:16:39.43 and depression and anxiety recovery. 00:16:39.46\00:16:40.83 But I'm also involved in clinical sites 00:16:40.90\00:16:43.37 that aren't necessarily course. 00:16:43.40\00:16:45.30 But they're part of a course of med-surge course. 00:16:45.33\00:16:48.47 But I'm just one of the clinical instructors 00:16:48.50\00:16:51.31 that he has along with many other good ones. 00:16:51.34\00:16:53.81 Yes. 00:16:53.88\00:16:55.21 So how many majors then at Weimar? 00:16:55.24\00:16:57.85 Right now, we have seven if you add it all up. 00:16:57.88\00:17:01.45 So we have the... 00:17:01.48\00:17:02.95 Theology. 00:17:02.98\00:17:04.32 The Theology, the Health Science. 00:17:04.35\00:17:05.69 Right. 00:17:05.72\00:17:07.06 Nursing. 00:17:07.09\00:17:09.79 We have business, 00:17:09.82\00:17:11.16 particularly emphasizing 00:17:11.19\00:17:12.53 Healthcare Administration or Management. 00:17:12.56\00:17:14.63 We also have Education. 00:17:14.66\00:17:16.70 Nice. 00:17:16.77\00:17:18.10 On top of that, and we have an interdisciplinary program. 00:17:18.13\00:17:20.94 That's a psychology emphasis. 00:17:20.97\00:17:24.51 And that's something it's very important to train 00:17:24.54\00:17:27.28 the right type of psychology counselors. 00:17:27.31\00:17:29.31 Yes. 00:17:29.34\00:17:30.68 And Weimar is very unique and how they do that, 00:17:30.75\00:17:33.11 but they become exceptional counselors. 00:17:33.15\00:17:35.15 And then we also have the health evangelism 00:17:35.18\00:17:37.65 and leadership training program that Natalie finished. 00:17:37.69\00:17:40.89 Nice. 00:17:40.96\00:17:42.29 That's a lot. 00:17:42.32\00:17:43.66 So talk to us a little bit about the practical aspects 00:17:43.69\00:17:46.13 of some of your training. 00:17:46.16\00:17:47.50 So I know you talked about the clinical 00:17:47.53\00:17:49.56 and being able to do that with Dr. Nedley, 00:17:49.60\00:17:51.23 but what about a program called TCI? 00:17:51.27\00:17:53.13 Tell me what that means 00:17:53.17\00:17:54.50 and how you all are involved in that? 00:17:54.54\00:17:55.87 TCI, it stands for Total Community Involvement, 00:17:55.90\00:17:58.81 a Total Campus Involved 00:17:58.84\00:18:00.78 and essentially what it means is that 00:18:00.81\00:18:02.61 we want to get as involved as we can. 00:18:02.64\00:18:04.41 We want every campus member, 00:18:04.45\00:18:06.11 every student to be involved in the community, 00:18:06.15\00:18:08.78 you know, to go out not just to learn, 00:18:08.82\00:18:10.62 but then to apply 00:18:10.69\00:18:12.82 and to live the principles that, 00:18:12.85\00:18:15.42 you know, we're being taught in practical application. 00:18:15.46\00:18:17.96 So it's really unique, we go on to the community, 00:18:17.99\00:18:20.43 we have different teams that go to different areas 00:18:20.50\00:18:23.13 in the surrounding towns. 00:18:23.16\00:18:25.17 And we do it every Wednesday in the afternoon 00:18:25.20\00:18:28.24 for about three to four hours and we go out 00:18:28.27\00:18:31.01 and, you know, for most people that we come to their door, 00:18:31.04\00:18:33.51 it's a very unique experience because they're expecting, 00:18:33.58\00:18:36.54 you know, some sort of person selling vacuums or, 00:18:36.58\00:18:39.28 you know, trying to get them to buy some cleaning product, 00:18:39.31\00:18:42.18 but instead we're coming there and asking 00:18:42.22\00:18:43.99 how we can just improve their lives, 00:18:44.02\00:18:46.32 you know, and meet the needs that they have. 00:18:46.35\00:18:48.49 Okay, so let me just ask you. 00:18:48.52\00:18:49.86 So is this unannounced then 00:18:49.89\00:18:51.23 you're just going to someone's door? 00:18:51.26\00:18:52.59 Correct. 00:18:52.63\00:18:54.00 Okay. So you knock on my door. 00:18:54.03\00:18:55.36 So I open the door and say hello. 00:18:55.40\00:18:56.73 Hi. How can I help you? 00:18:56.77\00:18:58.10 Yes. 00:18:58.13\00:18:59.47 How would you...? Tell me. 00:18:59.50\00:19:00.84 I would say Hi, my name is Matthew, 00:19:00.87\00:19:02.20 and I'm a student from the Weimar Institute. 00:19:02.24\00:19:03.57 Have you ever heard of the Weimar Institute? 00:19:03.61\00:19:04.94 I haven't. 00:19:04.97\00:19:06.31 No, tell me about Weimar Institute. 00:19:06.34\00:19:07.68 Weimar Institute is a small college academy 00:19:07.71\00:19:09.04 as well as a health institute that's just north 00:19:09.08\00:19:10.65 of the Auburn area in the Colfax. 00:19:10.68\00:19:12.01 Oh, I know where Auburn is, okay. 00:19:12.05\00:19:13.38 Yes. 00:19:13.42\00:19:14.75 And so we have a school up there. 00:19:14.78\00:19:16.12 And every week we come out and it's really our goal 00:19:16.15\00:19:18.32 as a campus to get involved in the community 00:19:18.35\00:19:20.29 and see how we can meet the needs 00:19:20.36\00:19:22.56 that our community members have and to interface with them 00:19:22.59\00:19:24.69 and develop relationships. 00:19:24.73\00:19:26.06 So that's why I'm here 00:19:26.09\00:19:27.43 and how can I best improve your life and help you. 00:19:27.50\00:19:29.43 Wow, are you saying that you see all these leaves 00:19:29.46\00:19:32.53 or pine needles on my front yard, 00:19:32.57\00:19:33.94 are you saying you might clean those up? 00:19:33.97\00:19:35.40 I would love to, we could pluck with you. 00:19:35.44\00:19:37.41 We can give you a massage. 00:19:37.44\00:19:40.88 I'm signing up. 00:19:40.91\00:19:43.85 So there's got to be a catch here, 00:19:43.88\00:19:45.48 what will I owe you? 00:19:45.51\00:19:46.85 I mean, sure, you're not just gonna do for free. 00:19:46.92\00:19:48.78 Completely free. 00:19:48.82\00:19:50.19 Completely free. Yes. 00:19:50.22\00:19:51.55 And why would you do that for free for me? 00:19:51.59\00:19:53.36 Because I feel that it's really why we're placed here on earth 00:19:53.39\00:19:56.62 to alleviate suffering 00:19:56.66\00:19:57.99 and so any way that I can best do that, 00:19:58.03\00:19:59.56 I think would be the highest calling 00:19:59.59\00:20:01.56 and the greatest thing that I could do 00:20:01.60\00:20:02.93 would give me the most fulfillment. 00:20:02.96\00:20:04.30 Well, it touches my heart, 00:20:04.33\00:20:05.67 and I give you some lemonade or something. 00:20:05.70\00:20:07.14 Cookies. 00:20:07.17\00:20:08.50 That's powerful. 00:20:08.54\00:20:09.87 That is powerful though, every Wednesday. 00:20:09.90\00:20:11.71 Go ahead, you gonna say something. 00:20:11.74\00:20:13.07 No, that's often the response people as we give, 00:20:13.11\00:20:16.04 they give back. 00:20:16.08\00:20:17.58 And that's been a blessing because, 00:20:17.65\00:20:19.41 you know, I didn't come to Weimar just to study, 00:20:19.45\00:20:22.05 I came to learn to be a godly minister. 00:20:22.08\00:20:26.29 And so I've had the privilege actually 00:20:26.32\00:20:27.79 to lead one of our groups, 00:20:27.82\00:20:29.16 we divide the college into like, 00:20:29.19\00:20:30.63 14 different groups and our professors 00:20:30.66\00:20:33.16 are going out with us. 00:20:33.19\00:20:35.06 And so I'm working actually 00:20:35.10\00:20:36.43 with one of my religion professors planning, 00:20:36.46\00:20:38.43 organizing, door-to-door work, 00:20:38.47\00:20:40.64 ministry, Bible studies, 00:20:40.67\00:20:43.04 health coaching, all that stuff. 00:20:43.07\00:20:44.67 And I remember particularly 00:20:44.71\00:20:46.44 actually it was when we first began 00:20:46.47\00:20:49.01 we showed up at this mobile home park 00:20:49.04\00:20:52.15 and knocked on a door. 00:20:52.18\00:20:53.75 And this lady came out and she says, 00:20:53.82\00:20:57.39 "You're not supposed to be here. 00:20:57.42\00:20:58.75 There's no soliciting. Get out of here." 00:20:58.79\00:21:00.86 So I went to the next door and the same response 00:21:00.89\00:21:02.59 and I was going to the third door 00:21:02.62\00:21:03.96 and this guy pulled up and he told me to get out 00:21:04.03\00:21:05.46 or he's gonna call the sheriff. 00:21:05.49\00:21:08.06 I'm like, okay, I should probably leave so I... 00:21:08.10\00:21:09.93 It's getting all stressful. 00:21:09.96\00:21:11.30 Yeah. 00:21:11.33\00:21:12.67 So I was getting... 00:21:12.70\00:21:14.04 We were heading out 00:21:14.07\00:21:15.40 and actually this lady comes out. 00:21:15.44\00:21:16.81 And she turned out to be the manager of the park. 00:21:16.84\00:21:18.17 She said, "What are you guys doing?" 00:21:18.21\00:21:19.54 Said "Well, we're here we're trying to help 00:21:19.57\00:21:20.91 through these different means," as Matthew shared with us? 00:21:20.94\00:21:24.15 And she says, "That's awesome." 00:21:24.18\00:21:25.98 She says, "We have a newsletter, 00:21:26.01\00:21:27.42 write it up. 00:21:27.45\00:21:28.85 And I'll put your phone numbers in." 00:21:28.88\00:21:32.72 Later that week, we had a call from that lady 00:21:32.75\00:21:34.69 that had first turned me down. 00:21:34.72\00:21:36.19 Oh, wow. 00:21:36.22\00:21:37.56 Since then, yeah. 00:21:37.63\00:21:39.63 Asking for help? 00:21:39.66\00:21:41.00 Asking for help. 00:21:41.03\00:21:42.36 Just with their yard, and it's gone from yard 00:21:42.40\00:21:44.30 to helping her with her diabetes, too. 00:21:44.33\00:21:46.84 Oh, wow. 00:21:46.87\00:21:48.20 Getting into the word and it's just it's taken, 00:21:48.24\00:21:50.34 you know, two years but it's a blessing 00:21:50.41\00:21:53.11 to form those friendships to not just 00:21:53.14\00:21:57.05 go out sometimes you, 00:21:57.08\00:21:58.41 you know, if you've ever canvas or something, 00:21:58.45\00:21:59.78 you see somebody wants 00:21:59.81\00:22:01.15 but this is developing friendships 00:22:01.18\00:22:02.95 that I believe will last for eternity. 00:22:02.98\00:22:05.45 And that's practical. 00:22:05.49\00:22:06.86 And it makes a difference 00:22:06.89\00:22:08.22 not only in their lives, but ours. 00:22:08.26\00:22:09.59 I mean, what an incredible program 00:22:09.62\00:22:11.29 and you can just see the excitement 00:22:11.33\00:22:13.06 on these young people's faces. 00:22:13.09\00:22:14.53 And so we haven't heard from you, Natalie, 00:22:14.56\00:22:16.00 I'm sure you have an experience pertaining to TCI. 00:22:16.03\00:22:19.10 Yes. 00:22:19.13\00:22:20.47 So during the, I think it was about the first month 00:22:20.54\00:22:23.27 on my four month health program, 00:22:23.30\00:22:24.74 we started a program called Diabetes Undone. 00:22:24.77\00:22:28.81 And it was our first program. 00:22:28.84\00:22:30.35 And we had a lady come in with her husband. 00:22:30.38\00:22:33.08 And the first time she came in, she was walking with a walker 00:22:33.11\00:22:36.15 and she was bent over, 00:22:36.18\00:22:37.52 she looked like she was in a lot of pain. 00:22:37.59\00:22:39.72 And she went through the first night 00:22:39.75\00:22:41.92 she seemed very enthusiastic about it. 00:22:41.96\00:22:43.63 She was asking lots of questions. 00:22:43.66\00:22:46.19 And she got to the end of that night 00:22:46.23\00:22:47.86 and they left and went home 00:22:47.90\00:22:49.26 and they came back the next couple weeks 00:22:49.30\00:22:52.10 and then one day she finally walked in 00:22:52.13\00:22:54.04 and she didn't have a walker anymore. 00:22:54.07\00:22:55.40 Wow! 00:22:55.44\00:22:56.81 And she was walking. 00:22:56.84\00:22:58.17 Praise the Lord. 00:22:58.21\00:22:59.54 Yeah, without a walker, she's walking very well 00:22:59.57\00:23:00.91 and she is telling us that a lot of her pain had left. 00:23:00.94\00:23:04.81 And it was amazing to watch 00:23:04.85\00:23:06.45 as she continued to come to the rest of the programs. 00:23:06.48\00:23:08.98 And she came to a couple of the other ones 00:23:09.02\00:23:11.25 that we put on. 00:23:11.29\00:23:12.62 And just recently, 00:23:12.65\00:23:13.99 she came to the evangelistic series program 00:23:14.06\00:23:15.46 at the end of the school year, so it's amazing to see. 00:23:15.49\00:23:18.56 One of my friends was her personal health coach. 00:23:18.59\00:23:21.56 And she has told me some of the stories, 00:23:21.60\00:23:24.20 and it's amazing to see the transformation 00:23:24.27\00:23:26.37 that can happen in one person's life 00:23:26.40\00:23:28.24 by these lifestyle measures. 00:23:28.27\00:23:30.21 So that's definitely been 00:23:30.24\00:23:31.57 one of my best experiences to see that. 00:23:31.61\00:23:33.58 What an amazing thing, 00:23:33.61\00:23:34.94 you know, you think about Christ's method alone. 00:23:34.98\00:23:37.45 How it brings true success, you see the needs, 00:23:37.48\00:23:40.52 find out what the needs are and seek to meet those needs. 00:23:40.55\00:23:44.62 And then, what does it say? 00:23:44.65\00:23:46.49 Then he bade them follow me. 00:23:46.52\00:23:48.32 So first of all, we get in the community 00:23:48.36\00:23:50.36 and share Jesus and love, as you all do with these people 00:23:50.43\00:23:54.73 and meet their needs, 00:23:54.76\00:23:56.10 and then they're interested in those spiritual things. 00:23:56.13\00:23:58.73 We have a video 00:23:58.77\00:24:00.14 not all the students obviously from Weimar, 00:24:00.17\00:24:02.10 we just brought a few here, Dr. Nedley brought a few. 00:24:02.14\00:24:05.34 But there's a video dealing 00:24:05.37\00:24:06.71 with the religion program and Jules. 00:24:06.78\00:24:08.74 So let's take a look at that video. 00:24:08.78\00:24:12.51 My name is Jules Karasira. 00:24:12.55\00:24:15.25 I'm a second year religion major 00:24:15.28\00:24:16.99 on a pre-med track. 00:24:17.02\00:24:18.45 And this is my Weimar story. 00:24:18.49\00:24:20.99 I'm kind of used to being the unique one. 00:24:21.02\00:24:23.19 I'm Zimbabwean by birth with origins from Rwanda 00:24:23.22\00:24:26.70 and I grew up in the States. 00:24:26.73\00:24:28.60 This 'cause being an Adventist at a public college in Texas, 00:24:28.63\00:24:32.20 I was unique. 00:24:32.23\00:24:33.64 That changed when I got to Weimar. 00:24:33.67\00:24:36.40 With all these backgrounds and cultures, 00:24:36.44\00:24:38.41 everybody here is different. 00:24:38.44\00:24:40.38 In my religion classes, 00:24:40.41\00:24:41.78 I'm taught by professors from around the world. 00:24:41.81\00:24:44.08 We have all kinds of unique faith situations, 00:24:44.15\00:24:47.02 like a Rwandan genocide survivor, 00:24:47.05\00:24:49.15 or a pastor who's a nurse, 00:24:49.18\00:24:50.89 or a professor who grew up in post war Croatia. 00:24:50.92\00:24:54.06 The rest of my life here is pretty extraordinaire too. 00:24:54.09\00:24:57.43 I work in the development office, 00:24:57.46\00:24:58.79 I'm seeing the special generosity 00:24:58.83\00:25:00.33 and life stories of our donors. 00:25:00.40\00:25:02.90 I'm also learning 00:25:02.93\00:25:04.27 from the unique life stories on campus 00:25:04.30\00:25:05.73 when I eat with my lunch crew, hang out as staff houses, 00:25:05.77\00:25:09.57 or play basketball with my friends, 00:25:09.60\00:25:11.74 go to the gym to work out or play some ping pong. 00:25:11.77\00:25:15.64 With a unique focus on a healthy body and mind 00:25:15.68\00:25:18.38 there was so much to do here. 00:25:18.41\00:25:20.15 There's a lot to do in the area 00:25:20.22\00:25:21.55 of the total community involvement. 00:25:21.58\00:25:23.79 It's an unmatched program 00:25:23.82\00:25:25.15 because it's not just a one-time or one-day deal. 00:25:25.19\00:25:28.09 We go back a week after a week 00:25:28.12\00:25:29.72 to stay connected with the people that we meet. 00:25:29.76\00:25:32.93 Personally, my connection to God 00:25:32.96\00:25:34.93 has grown exponentially here. 00:25:34.96\00:25:37.07 Living out my faith through music ministry, 00:25:37.10\00:25:39.27 the spiritual programs, 00:25:39.30\00:25:40.84 and even conversations with my classmates, 00:25:40.87\00:25:43.07 it all challenges me 00:25:43.10\00:25:44.44 truly thinking about what I believe. 00:25:44.47\00:25:46.31 It's giving me a distinct worldview 00:25:46.34\00:25:48.28 based on a solid faith. 00:25:48.31\00:25:50.05 Here being unique is well normal. 00:25:50.08\00:25:55.42 That's my Weimar story. 00:25:55.45\00:25:57.39 Come to Weimar and discover yours. 00:25:57.42\00:25:59.92 Wow! 00:26:07.63\00:26:08.96 That's powerful testimony right there, Dr. Nedley. 00:26:09.00\00:26:11.10 It must have warm your heart to see the young people 00:26:11.13\00:26:13.44 and the impact that Weimar is making in their lives. 00:26:13.47\00:26:16.20 Absolutely. Yeah. 00:26:16.24\00:26:18.04 So, Bailley, I know that you're a theology student. 00:26:18.07\00:26:21.31 Tell us just a little bit more about that major 00:26:21.34\00:26:23.14 'cause Jules is in that major that we saw. 00:26:23.18\00:26:25.31 Yeah, well, actually, just this past semester, Jules 00:26:25.35\00:26:28.25 and the rest of my theology classmates, 00:26:28.28\00:26:29.98 we had the opportunity to actually plan and organize 00:26:30.02\00:26:33.96 the evangelistic series that Natalie mentioned. 00:26:33.99\00:26:37.13 And so we were speaking for it, we were planning the budgets. 00:26:37.16\00:26:39.39 Oh, really. 00:26:39.43\00:26:40.80 We were organizing the program, all of that, 00:26:40.83\00:26:43.26 and that was a really good experience 00:26:43.30\00:26:45.00 'cause we got to work with the church pastor, 00:26:45.03\00:26:46.50 which is Pastor McIntosh, 00:26:46.53\00:26:47.87 and we had to work with the elders 00:26:47.90\00:26:49.84 and get that experience 00:26:49.87\00:26:51.71 of what it is like to be involved 00:26:51.74\00:26:54.11 practically in church ministry 00:26:54.18\00:26:56.04 and so that was just 00:26:56.08\00:26:57.45 different aspects like that from, 00:26:57.48\00:26:59.25 it's a small program right now so we need more. 00:26:59.28\00:27:01.25 If you're feeling the calling to go into ministry, 00:27:01.28\00:27:04.52 I would encourage you to consider Weimar 00:27:04.55\00:27:06.52 because it is really a blessing to see the focus 00:27:06.55\00:27:10.33 and our professors just constantly pointing us 00:27:10.36\00:27:14.00 to search our own hearts 00:27:14.03\00:27:15.63 to make sure that Jesus is abiding there 00:27:15.66\00:27:17.20 because it doesn't matter what we do if Christ 00:27:17.27\00:27:19.43 is not in us, so... 00:27:19.47\00:27:21.50 Dr, Nedley, we're getting ready to do some 00:27:21.54\00:27:22.87 musical chairs here in shortly 00:27:22.90\00:27:24.44 with some more students that you brought with you. 00:27:24.47\00:27:26.24 So I wanna just then talk to you to Matthew, 00:27:26.27\00:27:28.28 just a couple of seconds of 00:27:28.31\00:27:30.48 why someone should attend maybe Weimar college 00:27:30.55\00:27:32.31 or something that's on your heart right now 00:27:32.35\00:27:33.82 before we switch out the seats here? 00:27:33.85\00:27:35.88 Certainly, you know, I think of Amos 3:3, 00:27:35.92\00:27:38.12 you know, "Can two walk together 00:27:38.15\00:27:39.49 unless they have agreed?" 00:27:39.52\00:27:40.96 And like Jules stated in the video, 00:27:40.99\00:27:42.92 you know, being unique is normal. 00:27:42.96\00:27:44.73 And so it's nice to be in a place 00:27:44.76\00:27:46.16 where you feel like you have students around you 00:27:46.19\00:27:48.73 that, you know, are desiring the same thing, 00:27:48.76\00:27:50.97 like Bailley said, 00:27:51.00\00:27:52.33 are desiring to have a relationship with God. 00:27:52.37\00:27:54.30 And so, if that's truly the desire of a student, 00:27:54.34\00:27:57.41 you know, and they're wanting to be in environment 00:27:57.44\00:27:59.14 where they can grow 00:27:59.17\00:28:00.51 and where they have teachers who are not as focused 00:28:00.58\00:28:02.84 on their academic success as on their spiritual success. 00:28:02.88\00:28:06.58 And on them, 00:28:06.61\00:28:07.95 you know, having a relationship with God, 00:28:07.98\00:28:09.75 then I would encourage them to come. 00:28:09.78\00:28:11.62 Amen. 00:28:11.65\00:28:12.99 What about you, Natalie? 00:28:13.02\00:28:14.36 I know you just went through your freshman year, right? 00:28:14.39\00:28:16.93 So tell us why someone should attend 00:28:16.96\00:28:18.89 or something that's on your heart? 00:28:18.93\00:28:20.50 I think, a big thing for people, 00:28:20.53\00:28:23.40 especially who wanna go into the medical field is, 00:28:23.47\00:28:26.50 if you come to Weimar you can learn 00:28:26.53\00:28:28.14 how to be a medical missionary, 00:28:28.17\00:28:29.87 and that's so important for the work 00:28:29.90\00:28:31.67 that we have to do in these last days. 00:28:31.71\00:28:34.34 And if it's, if someone really is truly desiring that, 00:28:34.38\00:28:38.15 then Weimar is a place for them to live. 00:28:38.18\00:28:39.51 Amen. 00:28:39.55\00:28:40.98 I feel like I need to go back to college. 00:28:41.02\00:28:43.28 I want to go Weimar, you all have inspired me, 00:28:43.32\00:28:45.82 and at the end of the program we would definitely put up 00:28:45.85\00:28:49.19 the contact information for Weimar 00:28:49.22\00:28:51.13 because we want you to get involved, 00:28:51.16\00:28:53.06 not just financially but maybe you have young people 00:28:53.09\00:28:56.10 or you're a young person yourself 00:28:56.13\00:28:57.97 and God is calling you to attend Weimar College. 00:28:58.00\00:29:01.57 Thank you so much, Natalie Fish, Bailley Schmidt, 00:29:01.60\00:29:04.81 and Matthew Loredo, 00:29:04.84\00:29:06.17 for coming and sharing your heart 00:29:06.21\00:29:07.58 and your story with Weimar with our family at home. 00:29:07.61\00:29:10.35 We're gonna go to a song and then we'll change out 00:29:10.38\00:29:12.31 and we will have some other students here 00:29:12.35\00:29:14.62 and you'll get to meet them as well. 00:29:14.65\00:29:16.42 This is Alessandra Sorace. 00:29:16.45\00:29:20.26 I hope I pronounced that correctly. 00:29:20.29\00:29:21.62 She is a beautiful young woman. 00:29:21.66\00:29:23.12 She has a heart for God, 00:29:23.16\00:29:24.76 and she will be ministering a song "I Will Go." 00:29:24.79\00:29:28.43 Give me ears to hear Your Spirit 00:29:55.02\00:30:00.60 Give me feet to follow through 00:30:00.63\00:30:06.47 Give me hands to touch the hurting 00:30:06.50\00:30:12.21 And the faith to follow You 00:30:12.24\00:30:18.18 Give me grace to be a servant 00:30:22.15\00:30:27.92 Give me mercy for the lost 00:30:27.96\00:30:33.73 Give me passion for Your glory 00:30:33.80\00:30:39.50 Give me passion for the cross 00:30:39.53\00:30:45.81 And I will go where there are no easy roads 00:30:45.84\00:30:51.88 Leave the comforts that I know 00:30:51.91\00:30:57.79 I will go and let this journey be my home 00:30:57.82\00:31:03.93 I will go 00:31:03.96\00:31:12.87 I'll let go of my ambition 00:31:25.78\00:31:31.82 Cut the roots that run too deep 00:31:31.85\00:31:37.66 I will learn to give away 00:31:37.69\00:31:43.50 What I cannot really keep 00:31:43.57\00:31:56.48 Help me see 00:31:56.51\00:32:00.32 With eyes of faith 00:32:00.35\00:32:04.49 Give me strength 00:32:04.52\00:32:07.79 To run this race 00:32:07.82\00:32:11.69 And I will go where there are no easy roads 00:32:11.73\00:32:18.37 Leave the comforts that I know 00:32:18.40\00:32:24.24 I will go and let this journey be my home 00:32:24.31\00:32:30.48 I will go 00:32:30.55\00:32:38.59 Lord where Your glory is unknown 00:32:38.62\00:32:42.82 I will live for You alone 00:32:42.86\00:32:48.93 I will go because my life is not my own 00:32:48.96\00:32:55.80 I will go 00:32:55.84\00:33:05.61 Amen. 00:33:24.57\00:33:25.90 Beautiful song wonderfully done. 00:33:25.93\00:33:27.80 We love Alessandra Sorace here. 00:33:27.84\00:33:30.91 She just has a beautiful spirit and a heart and when years ago, 00:33:30.94\00:33:34.84 she used to sing on Kids' Time, 00:33:34.88\00:33:36.58 and I had the privilege of playing the piano for her 00:33:36.61\00:33:38.65 a couple of times so, 00:33:38.68\00:33:40.15 so good to see her again on that song. 00:33:40.22\00:33:42.88 And a great message too, you know that? 00:33:42.92\00:33:44.29 Great message, I Will Go. 00:33:44.32\00:33:45.65 I Will Go, very much fits the program 00:33:45.69\00:33:47.02 we've been talking about here Weimar. 00:33:47.06\00:33:48.66 Amen. 00:33:48.69\00:33:50.03 And I know we're many minutes into the program, 00:33:50.06\00:33:52.73 but we're talking about Weimar College 00:33:52.76\00:33:54.63 and what God is doing in and through the students 00:33:54.66\00:33:57.97 and the faculty there. 00:33:58.00\00:33:59.50 We have Dr. Neil Nedley, 00:33:59.53\00:34:01.37 who is the President of Weimar Institute 00:34:01.40\00:34:03.41 and sitting next to you is Ryan Branson. 00:34:03.44\00:34:06.57 And, Ryan, you're an education major. 00:34:06.61\00:34:09.51 And we'll hear a little bit more from you. 00:34:09.54\00:34:11.25 And I'm going to do my very best 00:34:11.28\00:34:13.28 to pronounce the rest of these names. 00:34:13.31\00:34:15.25 We have Karolina Mikulaskova. 00:34:15.28\00:34:19.39 All right. 00:34:19.42\00:34:20.76 Maybe you should pronounce for us. 00:34:20.79\00:34:22.59 Mikulaskova. 00:34:22.62\00:34:23.96 Oh, thank you, much better. 00:34:24.03\00:34:25.63 You're a psychology... You did fabulously. 00:34:25.66\00:34:27.63 Oh, thank you. 00:34:27.66\00:34:29.06 You're a psychology student and we hear about that. 00:34:29.10\00:34:32.20 And then at the end is Tino Tsikirai. 00:34:32.23\00:34:34.50 Yes. Good job. 00:34:34.54\00:34:36.00 And you're Business Education, Business Administration. 00:34:36.04\00:34:39.04 Yes. Business Administration. Exactly. 00:34:39.07\00:34:41.28 Okay, so why don't we start with you, Tino. 00:34:41.31\00:34:43.01 Talk to us about Business Administration 00:34:43.04\00:34:44.91 and the major there 00:34:44.95\00:34:46.28 and what you're learning there in Weimar? 00:34:46.31\00:34:48.02 Okay, great. 00:34:48.05\00:34:50.59 When I first heard about Weimar, 00:34:50.62\00:34:52.02 I was actually interested in the pre-med program. 00:34:52.05\00:34:55.76 And my dream as a pre-med student 00:34:55.79\00:34:57.89 was to eventually go into Healthcare Administration 00:34:57.93\00:35:00.10 as a doctor. 00:35:00.13\00:35:01.80 A couple years into pre-med, 00:35:01.83\00:35:03.26 I decided I wanted to study the business side of healthcare 00:35:03.30\00:35:06.37 and focus on that. 00:35:06.40\00:35:07.74 And that's around the time our business program started. 00:35:07.77\00:35:10.51 Actually, it was Dr. Nedley's 00:35:10.54\00:35:11.87 new daughter-in-law, Laura Boyer. 00:35:11.91\00:35:14.08 Now Nedley, who started that program for us, and... 00:35:14.11\00:35:17.25 I didn't know that. Yeah. 00:35:17.28\00:35:19.08 Wow. 00:35:19.11\00:35:20.45 The one that married the orthopedic doctor 00:35:20.52\00:35:22.08 we talked about earlier. 00:35:22.12\00:35:23.49 Yes, yes. 00:35:23.52\00:35:24.85 So the business program has two tracks. 00:35:24.89\00:35:28.12 One is in Healthcare Administration. 00:35:28.16\00:35:30.13 That's what I'm pursuing. 00:35:30.16\00:35:31.49 The other is an Organizational Leadership. 00:35:31.53\00:35:34.00 And so I am just so thankful that I was able to be in this 00:35:34.03\00:35:38.47 that I am able to be in a small school 00:35:38.50\00:35:40.57 where I can learn about the business side of healthcare 00:35:40.64\00:35:44.67 because I think there's a need 00:35:44.71\00:35:46.24 for missionary healthcare administrators, 00:35:46.27\00:35:49.34 we hear about missionary doctors, 00:35:49.38\00:35:50.75 missionary nurses, missionary teachers, 00:35:50.78\00:35:52.95 but how many times do you hear 00:35:52.98\00:35:54.32 about a missionary healthcare administrator? 00:35:54.35\00:35:56.32 So I'm looking forward 00:35:56.35\00:35:57.69 to filling whatever role God puts me in 00:35:57.72\00:36:00.19 after I graduate, hopefully soon. 00:36:00.26\00:36:02.19 You know, one of the things I should mention about 00:36:02.22\00:36:03.93 the startup of this program is Dr. Hart, 00:36:03.96\00:36:06.33 who is been President of Loma Linda for years, 00:36:06.36\00:36:08.83 he has a passion for admissions. 00:36:08.86\00:36:11.60 And he was telling me 00:36:11.63\00:36:12.97 that we can't find administrators 00:36:13.00\00:36:14.94 for these mission hospitals around the world. 00:36:14.97\00:36:17.51 And it's just so difficult. 00:36:17.54\00:36:19.37 And we want mission administrators 00:36:19.41\00:36:21.64 who are going to be mission-minded 00:36:21.68\00:36:23.35 to bring in souls as well. 00:36:23.38\00:36:25.05 And that's like an impossibility. 00:36:25.08\00:36:27.25 So I realized, you know, Weimar centering in on health, 00:36:27.32\00:36:29.95 we needed to provide that gap. 00:36:29.98\00:36:32.45 And so Tino in her senior year is gonna provide that gap 00:36:32.49\00:36:36.22 and be able to be a real medical missionary 00:36:36.26\00:36:38.59 from the administration side, 00:36:38.63\00:36:40.30 which is a critically important part. 00:36:40.33\00:36:42.16 If the administrator is off base, 00:36:42.20\00:36:43.90 the whole institution is gonna be off base. 00:36:43.97\00:36:45.53 Sure. That is a good point. 00:36:45.57\00:36:46.94 So it's a relatively new major. 00:36:46.97\00:36:48.30 It is, yes. 00:36:48.34\00:36:49.87 Our first graduate, graduated this May. 00:36:49.90\00:36:53.48 Yay! That's great. 00:36:53.51\00:36:55.41 You know, that really fits the niche then 00:36:55.44\00:36:57.65 that Dr. Hart was mentioning. 00:36:57.68\00:36:59.08 Yes. 00:36:59.11\00:37:00.45 Yeah, well, that's great. Fantastic. 00:37:00.52\00:37:01.92 And you've done well, Dr. Neil, 00:37:01.95\00:37:03.28 'cause you brought basically students from all majors... 00:37:03.32\00:37:05.55 Yes. 00:37:05.59\00:37:06.96 From Weimar here to visit with us today. 00:37:06.99\00:37:08.69 So, Karolina, tell us then your major 00:37:08.72\00:37:10.66 and then what brought you to Weimar? 00:37:10.73\00:37:13.40 So I'm a psychology major, the way that it's set up. 00:37:13.43\00:37:16.56 It's an interdisciplinary program 00:37:16.60\00:37:18.83 and I'm emphasizing in psychology, 00:37:18.87\00:37:22.27 also minor in music. 00:37:22.30\00:37:24.94 So it's been a privilege. 00:37:24.97\00:37:27.08 What brought me to Weimar is actually, 00:37:27.11\00:37:29.54 I attended the academy prior to joining the college, 00:37:29.58\00:37:35.55 and so I was in Weimar Academy 00:37:35.58\00:37:37.39 and the first inspiration 00:37:37.42\00:37:41.16 and kind of calling I felt to psychology 00:37:41.19\00:37:44.39 was my sophomore year of high school. 00:37:44.43\00:37:46.63 And I saw the need, I was inspired 00:37:46.70\00:37:48.36 by the depression recovery program. 00:37:48.40\00:37:51.33 And I just, I knew that God was calling me 00:37:51.37\00:37:54.80 to help people with depression, with anxiety. 00:37:54.84\00:37:58.24 It runs in my family and I saw how prevalent 00:37:58.27\00:38:02.04 it was in society, especially today, 00:38:02.08\00:38:04.75 with all the young people, 00:38:04.78\00:38:06.38 especially young people now, 00:38:06.41\00:38:08.08 they just, they're losing their identity. 00:38:08.12\00:38:10.09 They don't know who they are anymore. 00:38:10.12\00:38:11.99 And there's a lot of confusion. 00:38:12.02\00:38:13.36 And so I knew that there 00:38:13.39\00:38:14.86 I was being called in this line of work. 00:38:14.89\00:38:18.23 But there's one problem, 00:38:18.26\00:38:20.03 Weimar at that time 00:38:20.10\00:38:21.43 did not offer a psychology program. 00:38:21.46\00:38:23.97 That's a problem. So that... 00:38:24.00\00:38:25.33 For me that was a problem 00:38:25.37\00:38:26.70 because I saw the methods that depression recovery used, 00:38:26.74\00:38:30.64 and incorporating lifestyle and CBT 00:38:30.71\00:38:34.01 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is very important. 00:38:34.08\00:38:36.85 Looking at the thoughts, 00:38:36.88\00:38:38.21 how are the thoughts affecting who or how you feel. 00:38:38.25\00:38:41.72 As a man thinks in his heart so is he, right? 00:38:41.75\00:38:43.22 Yes. 00:38:43.25\00:38:44.59 And then that will affect your actions. 00:38:44.62\00:38:46.65 And so it all works together. 00:38:46.69\00:38:48.72 And so this was very important to me, 00:38:48.76\00:38:50.23 and I was praying about it, Lord, I want to do this, 00:38:50.26\00:38:53.40 but You're going to have to provide 00:38:53.43\00:38:55.63 a means to study this line of work and so... 00:38:55.66\00:39:00.84 Sure enough, senior year rolls around, 00:39:00.87\00:39:04.61 and it is announced that they're going to start 00:39:04.64\00:39:07.74 a psychology program that following fall. 00:39:07.78\00:39:10.55 At Weimar College. Yes. 00:39:10.58\00:39:12.11 So it was an answer to prayer. 00:39:12.15\00:39:14.42 Amen. 00:39:14.45\00:39:15.78 It was a godsend. 00:39:15.82\00:39:17.19 And it was clear to me, Lord, 00:39:17.22\00:39:18.89 that the Lord wanted me to go into psychology. 00:39:18.92\00:39:21.12 There's such a need, 00:39:21.16\00:39:22.49 we do not have enough Christian psychologists, 00:39:22.52\00:39:24.46 let alone Adventist psychologists. 00:39:24.49\00:39:27.33 And so I started the program. 00:39:27.40\00:39:29.70 And it was the best decision that I could have made. 00:39:29.73\00:39:33.74 Wow, it's a unique program. 00:39:33.77\00:39:35.30 It's unlike a lot of the other programs. 00:39:35.34\00:39:37.51 That's the interdisciplinary aspect of it as well. 00:39:37.54\00:39:41.28 And so, yeah, 00:39:41.31\00:39:42.78 she'll even learn the music therapy, 00:39:42.81\00:39:44.51 parts of things that will improve the brain 00:39:44.55\00:39:47.68 and have it be a more comprehensive type of training, 00:39:47.72\00:39:50.72 but she'll also learn 00:39:50.79\00:39:52.22 all the different psychological diseases, 00:39:52.25\00:39:54.56 and the pathologies, 00:39:54.59\00:39:55.92 and all of the biochemistry behind it as well 00:39:55.96\00:39:58.53 and so she's gonna be set up to be an exceptional help 00:39:58.56\00:40:01.90 to the Lord's work in mental illness. 00:40:01.93\00:40:05.00 What I appreciate is that it's Bible based. 00:40:05.03\00:40:07.67 So we cover all the scientific theories 00:40:07.70\00:40:10.71 and all the general theories that you were in other places, 00:40:10.74\00:40:14.38 you have to know even the ones that you might not agree with. 00:40:14.41\00:40:18.65 But then we compare it to the Bible's method. 00:40:18.68\00:40:22.68 And that's been so cool to see. 00:40:22.72\00:40:25.02 You look at the Bible and how different characters 00:40:25.05\00:40:28.46 and even Jesus how He dealt with people 00:40:28.49\00:40:30.23 also reading Spirit of Prophecy, 00:40:30.26\00:40:32.53 and seeing the council that is written on this topic. 00:40:32.56\00:40:36.03 And it's been so enlightening. 00:40:36.06\00:40:37.50 It's been very, very educational, 00:40:37.57\00:40:41.20 but also very practical. 00:40:41.24\00:40:43.84 Amen. 00:40:43.91\00:40:45.34 Then, Ryan, you're in the... 00:40:45.37\00:40:47.01 Education. Educational field. 00:40:47.08\00:40:48.44 That's right. 00:40:48.48\00:40:49.81 So what drew you to Weimar but then also teaching? 00:40:49.84\00:40:52.55 Right. 00:40:52.58\00:40:54.95 Starting off with what drew me to Weimar, 00:40:54.98\00:40:56.58 I'd say finding a school that was small in size, 00:40:56.62\00:41:01.72 was really a special thing to me. 00:41:01.76\00:41:04.03 I looked at the student count 00:41:04.06\00:41:06.46 and when I first came under 100 students, 00:41:06.49\00:41:08.53 I thought, where can you go to college 00:41:08.56\00:41:10.97 and have a student body that's under 100, 00:41:11.00\00:41:13.94 I mean, that's almost unheard of. 00:41:13.97\00:41:15.40 Now we have a little bit more than that now. 00:41:15.44\00:41:17.71 But I thought what a special opportunity 00:41:17.74\00:41:21.11 to be part of a school environment 00:41:21.14\00:41:23.55 that is the size 00:41:23.58\00:41:27.45 where you can feel like 00:41:27.52\00:41:28.92 there's more of a family atmosphere 00:41:28.95\00:41:32.29 that may not be quite the right term. 00:41:32.32\00:41:34.09 But somewhere along those lines, 00:41:34.16\00:41:35.62 you know, 00:41:35.66\00:41:37.73 you can get to know more people, 00:41:37.76\00:41:39.23 build relationships easier. 00:41:39.26\00:41:41.50 And so I think that was a real plus that drew me, 00:41:41.53\00:41:45.40 but also the healthy lifestyle that Weimar promotes. 00:41:45.43\00:41:51.34 It was important for me to find a school 00:41:51.37\00:41:54.28 that promoted some of the same lifestyle habits 00:41:54.31\00:41:58.25 that I wanted to make values, 00:41:58.28\00:42:00.92 you know, placing these values in my own life. 00:42:00.95\00:42:02.58 Far as like what you eat and exercise. 00:42:02.62\00:42:03.99 Right, right. 00:42:04.02\00:42:05.59 Fresh air. Yeah. 00:42:05.62\00:42:06.96 Water. NEWSTART, right? 00:42:06.99\00:42:08.32 The acronym. 00:42:08.36\00:42:09.69 So finding the school that takes those things 00:42:09.72\00:42:11.36 and says we're gonna promote these. 00:42:11.39\00:42:12.89 Yes. 00:42:12.93\00:42:14.30 And encourage our students, 00:42:14.33\00:42:16.87 you know, to be a part of it as well. 00:42:16.90\00:42:19.17 I found that to be encouraging 00:42:19.20\00:42:20.54 'cause it coincided with what I decided. 00:42:20.57\00:42:22.60 This is the course I want to pursue in my own life. 00:42:22.64\00:42:25.57 And last but not least, 00:42:25.61\00:42:28.78 Weimar, they really hold to the core 00:42:28.81\00:42:33.75 teachings of Adventism, you know, 00:42:33.82\00:42:35.75 and it's a wonderful experience to be there. 00:42:35.78\00:42:38.75 And once you're there and you go through, 00:42:38.79\00:42:41.56 you know, the year or two, you begin to realize, 00:42:41.59\00:42:43.63 wow, 00:42:43.66\00:42:44.99 this is really what Adventist education is all about. 00:42:45.03\00:42:47.96 Well, even going back to the history of our, 00:42:50.10\00:42:53.23 you know, education, we realized that it built, 00:42:53.27\00:42:57.31 training people to spread the good news of the gospel, 00:42:57.34\00:42:59.91 Jesus is coming again, 00:42:59.94\00:43:01.28 you can be ready because He loves you 00:43:01.31\00:43:03.35 and He died to save you. 00:43:03.38\00:43:04.71 That's what Weimar is doing. 00:43:04.75\00:43:06.08 They're training people to go out and give that message, 00:43:06.11\00:43:07.88 such a blessing. 00:43:07.92\00:43:09.25 I'm just happy to be a part of it. 00:43:09.28\00:43:10.62 Amen. 00:43:10.69\00:43:12.02 And you chose the educational field 00:43:12.05\00:43:13.39 and we have a video where we wanna go through as well. 00:43:13.42\00:43:14.76 But tell us why education for you? 00:43:14.79\00:43:16.29 Yeah, that one's a little bit harder for question to answer. 00:43:16.32\00:43:20.00 But teachers really influenced me, 00:43:20.03\00:43:23.03 you know, in life growing up. 00:43:23.06\00:43:24.40 Okay. 00:43:24.43\00:43:25.77 And so finding kind of a niche to get into where you think, 00:43:25.80\00:43:29.77 well, how can I be an influence? 00:43:29.80\00:43:31.41 How can I help in the Lord's cause? 00:43:31.44\00:43:34.58 I looked at what Weimar offered and I thought, 00:43:34.61\00:43:37.28 I think I'll fit in best in this program. 00:43:37.35\00:43:39.75 So that in short, that pretty much does it. 00:43:39.78\00:43:42.95 Should we go to that role now, do you think? 00:43:42.98\00:43:44.62 Let's do that. 00:43:44.65\00:43:45.99 That's talking about the educational program 00:43:46.02\00:43:47.36 and this testimony is with Bailey. 00:43:47.39\00:43:51.03 Hi, my name is Bailey Gallant. 00:43:51.06\00:43:52.59 I'm a second year education student 00:43:52.63\00:43:54.36 and this is my Weimar story. 00:43:54.40\00:43:57.30 I'm learning the basic and specific skills 00:43:57.37\00:43:59.40 of being a teacher in my methods 00:43:59.43\00:44:01.37 and classroom management courses. 00:44:01.40\00:44:03.84 What I really appreciate though is Weimar's work study program. 00:44:03.91\00:44:07.78 I'm only a sophomore, 00:44:07.81\00:44:09.14 but I've had experience in a classroom 00:44:09.18\00:44:10.95 since my very first semester. 00:44:10.98\00:44:13.72 Now I'm teaching a kindergarten math class. 00:44:13.75\00:44:16.32 Instead of waiting until my last semester of college 00:44:16.35\00:44:18.89 to experience a classroom and student teaching, 00:44:18.92\00:44:21.69 I am deciding from the very beginning 00:44:21.72\00:44:23.66 if education is the right fit for me. 00:44:23.73\00:44:26.36 And thanks to Weimar, I already know that it is. 00:44:26.39\00:44:29.73 Plus I could add a psychology, music, or religion emphasis 00:44:29.76\00:44:32.63 to expand my career options. 00:44:32.67\00:44:34.97 I also love getting to know people here. 00:44:35.00\00:44:37.41 I serve as the secretary 00:44:37.44\00:44:38.77 for our college student association. 00:44:38.81\00:44:40.61 And we meet every week to plan activities 00:44:40.68\00:44:42.94 so people can get to know each other better, 00:44:42.98\00:44:45.51 whether it's a social night, going out for Thai food, 00:44:45.55\00:44:48.08 walking the loop, 00:44:48.12\00:44:49.45 or setting together in the library. 00:44:49.48\00:44:51.25 There are plenty of ways 00:44:51.29\00:44:52.62 to make some great friends here. 00:44:52.65\00:44:54.72 I've also gotten to know some great people 00:44:54.76\00:44:56.73 through our Total Community Involvement or TCI program. 00:44:56.76\00:45:00.70 Every week for the last two years, 00:45:00.73\00:45:02.63 my TCI group has visited people in the same area. 00:45:02.66\00:45:06.60 Our new friends share their needs 00:45:06.63\00:45:08.30 and we offer some practical help 00:45:08.34\00:45:10.61 and something even better 00:45:10.64\00:45:11.97 through pointing them to Christ. 00:45:12.01\00:45:14.01 TCI has helped me know both my classmates 00:45:14.08\00:45:16.61 and the people in my community better. 00:45:16.64\00:45:19.18 The spiritual activities here like prayer meetings, 00:45:19.21\00:45:21.82 small group Bible studies, 00:45:21.85\00:45:23.18 and Sabbath services have helped me know God better. 00:45:23.22\00:45:26.39 And personally, I think that's the best education of all. 00:45:26.42\00:45:30.63 That's my Weimar story. 00:45:30.66\00:45:32.49 Come to Weimar and discover yours. 00:45:32.53\00:45:35.13 I love these vignettes. 00:45:39.13\00:45:40.47 What an incredible story to get to hear 00:45:40.54\00:45:42.34 just a little bit of each one of the student's stories. 00:45:42.37\00:45:45.21 And Bailey Gallant is in education 00:45:45.24\00:45:47.51 and I know Ryan, talk to us a little bit about 00:45:47.58\00:45:50.35 that practical aspect of education 00:45:50.38\00:45:52.75 being able to be involved in this classroom 00:45:52.78\00:45:56.02 setting early on in your education? 00:45:56.05\00:45:57.85 Right. 00:45:57.89\00:45:59.22 Yeah, it's really been a blessing because we've... 00:45:59.25\00:46:01.99 Well, usually in an education program, 00:46:02.02\00:46:03.73 they have what we call student teaching, 00:46:03.76\00:46:05.96 but it comes right at the end. 00:46:05.99\00:46:07.33 It's at the end. Oh, yeah. 00:46:07.40\00:46:08.73 And so you spent, you know, three and a half years, 00:46:08.76\00:46:10.70 maybe four years, 00:46:10.77\00:46:12.27 and you really don't know 00:46:12.30\00:46:14.67 whether you enjoy the classroom setting, 00:46:14.70\00:46:16.94 you've learned a lot of theory which is helpful. 00:46:17.01\00:46:19.84 But you don't know for sure if that's what you want 00:46:19.87\00:46:22.31 to spend the rest of your life doing. 00:46:22.34\00:46:23.85 So at Weimar, it's been a really great, 00:46:23.88\00:46:25.71 they've implemented what we call the work ed program. 00:46:25.75\00:46:28.55 Each student work six hours per week in minimum of that. 00:46:28.58\00:46:32.69 And education students get to do that work 00:46:32.72\00:46:35.19 at the Weimar Elementary School. 00:46:35.22\00:46:37.53 So they get in the classroom... 00:46:37.56\00:46:39.13 Freshman year. 00:46:39.16\00:46:40.50 That's right. Yeah. 00:46:40.53\00:46:41.93 First semester there. First semester? 00:46:41.96\00:46:44.60 Okay. 00:46:44.63\00:46:45.97 So, you know, right away if this is a fit. 00:46:46.00\00:46:47.74 Right, you get in there, 00:46:47.77\00:46:49.10 you take the theory, the head knowledge 00:46:49.14\00:46:51.41 that you're learning in your classes, 00:46:51.44\00:46:53.78 you get in the classroom, you acted it out, 00:46:53.81\00:46:55.91 you practice it, 00:46:55.94\00:46:57.28 you build skills and routines that 00:46:57.35\00:46:59.18 you're gonna be able to take with you 00:46:59.21\00:47:00.75 throughout your career 00:47:00.82\00:47:02.65 and you're gonna figure out whether you enjoy it or not. 00:47:02.68\00:47:04.65 That's the main thing. 00:47:04.69\00:47:06.12 And you can apply that those earnings 00:47:06.15\00:47:10.93 towards your tuition as well. 00:47:10.96\00:47:12.29 So it's a win-win for everyone. 00:47:12.33\00:47:13.70 It's a really a great program. 00:47:13.73\00:47:15.90 And the elementary teacher actually is a professor 00:47:15.93\00:47:20.04 at the college as well. 00:47:20.07\00:47:21.87 Nice. 00:47:21.90\00:47:23.24 And so, you know, when she's teaching 00:47:23.27\00:47:24.61 classroom discipline, in theory, 00:47:24.64\00:47:26.51 then you go apply it, you know, in the classroom, 00:47:26.54\00:47:29.14 and then she can critique you 00:47:29.18\00:47:30.55 and do all of this sort of thing. 00:47:30.58\00:47:32.48 And so that's why our Weimar education students 00:47:32.51\00:47:35.45 come out way ahead 00:47:35.48\00:47:36.82 and being able to have classroom management 00:47:36.89\00:47:38.99 and all those types of things 00:47:39.02\00:47:40.36 'cause they've been doing it for years 00:47:40.39\00:47:42.19 before they actually graduate. 00:47:42.22\00:47:43.56 That's great. 00:47:43.63\00:47:44.96 That's vitally important for a teacher to learn that. 00:47:44.99\00:47:46.80 I think classroom management was the hardest thing for me 00:47:46.83\00:47:49.10 to learn when I did education. 00:47:49.13\00:47:50.47 That was me. Yeah. 00:47:50.50\00:47:51.83 So, Tino, I'm not sure we asked you 00:47:51.87\00:47:53.74 why you came to Weimar. 00:47:53.77\00:47:55.37 We talked a little bit about the business 00:47:55.40\00:47:57.44 and you're a major, 00:47:57.51\00:47:58.84 but talk to us about why you came? 00:47:58.87\00:48:00.48 Why did you choose Weimar? 00:48:00.51\00:48:02.14 Okay, that's a really good question 00:48:02.18\00:48:03.78 because I didn't really choose Weimar, God chose it for me. 00:48:03.85\00:48:07.98 When I was in high school, I was homeschooled. 00:48:08.02\00:48:10.79 And up until high school, 00:48:10.82\00:48:12.45 I was trying to make the decision on the next step. 00:48:12.49\00:48:15.39 And I had a list of schools that I was hoping to go to. 00:48:15.42\00:48:18.96 And I was really searching and praying 00:48:18.99\00:48:20.70 for where God wanted me to go, 00:48:20.73\00:48:22.06 but I knew where I wanted to go. 00:48:22.10\00:48:24.50 After being overwhelmed with suggestions 00:48:24.53\00:48:26.37 from people trying to give me ideas on where I should go. 00:48:26.40\00:48:28.90 And as I mentioned earlier, I was interested in pre-med. 00:48:28.94\00:48:32.27 All of a sudden, every school seemed 00:48:32.31\00:48:34.18 to have the best pre-med program 00:48:34.21\00:48:36.41 that would offer me a certain advantage 00:48:36.44\00:48:38.05 and I was overwhelmed. 00:48:38.08\00:48:39.68 And I prayed one night, 00:48:39.71\00:48:41.25 spent several hours just wrestling with God, 00:48:41.28\00:48:43.49 and I'm asking Him for guidance 00:48:43.52\00:48:46.05 and to make His plan for me clear. 00:48:46.09\00:48:48.56 Over the next couple of weeks, 00:48:48.59\00:48:50.23 God orchestrated events in such a way that 00:48:50.26\00:48:54.23 I found myself in a pastor's office, 00:48:54.30\00:48:56.33 and he pretty much told me straight, 00:48:56.36\00:49:00.07 Tino, if I were you, 00:49:00.14\00:49:02.10 I would suggest that you go to Weimar. 00:49:02.14\00:49:04.31 And I was not expecting 00:49:04.34\00:49:06.34 that particular conversation to end that way. 00:49:06.37\00:49:08.91 But I knew that God had been speaking 00:49:08.94\00:49:10.48 and I hadn't been hearing His voice. 00:49:10.55\00:49:12.65 So after I was praying about it, 00:49:12.68\00:49:15.68 was literally the scariest decision of my life 00:49:15.72\00:49:18.19 because back then Weimar was not accredited. 00:49:18.22\00:49:21.19 And there are other things 00:49:21.22\00:49:23.02 that I just didn't know about the school, 00:49:23.06\00:49:24.69 but I knew God was leading me that way. 00:49:24.73\00:49:26.70 And he spoke to my parents as well. 00:49:26.73\00:49:29.13 And so we visited the campus and liked what we saw. 00:49:29.16\00:49:33.37 But when we visited the campus, 00:49:33.44\00:49:34.80 I knew that this was where God was sending me to this. 00:49:34.84\00:49:36.81 I wasn't like the typical student 00:49:36.84\00:49:38.21 who had visited campus because I knew 00:49:38.24\00:49:40.28 while I'm here anyhow for the rest of my education 00:49:40.31\00:49:44.15 and so God leads in different ways. 00:49:44.18\00:49:46.72 I learned a lot through that experience 00:49:46.75\00:49:48.38 about trusting God when it doesn't make sense. 00:49:48.42\00:49:50.62 Amen. 00:49:50.69\00:49:52.02 Yeah, that's the greatest lesson 00:49:52.05\00:49:53.39 I think I've learned so far. 00:49:53.42\00:49:54.76 Oh, that's powerful. 00:49:54.79\00:49:56.12 You know, Dr. Nedley, 00:49:56.16\00:49:57.49 it's neat to see the young people 00:49:57.53\00:49:58.86 'cause this is just a small sampling of the students 00:49:58.89\00:50:00.43 that are at Weimar, 00:50:00.50\00:50:02.00 but as we're wrapping up here... 00:50:02.03\00:50:03.47 This first hour has gone by, with an hour this is, 00:50:03.50\00:50:05.47 I said this is a two hour program, 00:50:05.50\00:50:06.84 this hour has gone by in a hurry, 00:50:06.87\00:50:09.84 but Dr. Nedley as the President of Weimar Institute, 00:50:09.87\00:50:13.24 tell us the goals, the vision, the future for Weimar, 00:50:13.27\00:50:15.68 where you see Weimar going and where you see God leading? 00:50:15.71\00:50:18.78 Well, Weimar heals a hurting world. 00:50:18.81\00:50:21.18 And we need a lot more healers 00:50:21.22\00:50:24.22 and so many different lines of work. 00:50:24.29\00:50:27.36 And now, our dorms have filled up to capacity. 00:50:27.39\00:50:31.49 To capacity. 00:50:31.53\00:50:32.86 And we are building new housing. 00:50:32.89\00:50:35.53 We really need to be able to take the input in. 00:50:35.56\00:50:38.33 It's kind of a, it's a problem. 00:50:38.37\00:50:41.14 But it is a good problem to have. 00:50:41.17\00:50:43.91 And so the Weimar campus is really maxed out, 00:50:43.94\00:50:46.78 our programs are maxed out, 00:50:46.81\00:50:48.34 even depression, anxiety, recovery, 00:50:48.38\00:50:50.65 there's waiting list for that, NEWSTART, 00:50:50.68\00:50:52.85 all of those things 00:50:52.88\00:50:54.22 and so we really need to expand the infrastructure 00:50:54.25\00:50:57.39 to be able to train more people 00:50:57.42\00:51:00.06 utilizing God's methods of education, 00:51:00.09\00:51:03.06 and we know that 00:51:03.09\00:51:06.33 this can be multiplied 100 fold. 00:51:06.36\00:51:08.90 What you're saying here can be multiplied 100 fold, 1000 fold. 00:51:08.93\00:51:13.27 But that's our need. 00:51:13.34\00:51:14.67 And so, if anyone would like to support a student 00:51:14.70\00:51:18.37 that would not be able to come otherwise, 00:51:18.41\00:51:21.08 help the housing project aspect of things 00:51:21.11\00:51:23.48 because we can't have them there 00:51:23.55\00:51:25.08 unless there's housing 00:51:25.11\00:51:26.45 'cause the students come from all over the world. 00:51:26.48\00:51:28.05 And that's really good. 00:51:28.08\00:51:29.42 We're getting ready to go to the address role 00:51:29.45\00:51:30.79 that we call it here. 00:51:30.82\00:51:32.15 It gives your contact information 00:51:32.19\00:51:33.56 of how you can reach out to Weimar Institute, 00:51:33.59\00:51:35.76 and I'm sure your website 00:51:35.79\00:51:37.13 or they can just call and you guys can say, 00:51:37.16\00:51:38.49 oh, yeah, this is how you can donate money 00:51:38.53\00:51:40.30 to help for the building fund and to help young people. 00:51:40.33\00:51:43.06 You think about this, you are educating young people, 00:51:43.10\00:51:46.40 they're gonna make an impact 00:51:46.43\00:51:47.77 and that are making an impact in our world today. 00:51:47.80\00:51:50.71 So let's go to the address role. 00:51:50.74\00:51:52.07 Then we'll go to a short break and we'll be right back. 00:51:52.11\00:51:56.48 If you would like to learn more 00:51:56.51\00:51:57.95 about the new accredited Weimar Institute 00:51:57.98\00:52:00.92 or if you would like to financially support them, 00:52:00.95\00:52:03.39 as they expand their infrastructure 00:52:03.42\00:52:05.52 and find new opportunities to help teach 00:52:05.55\00:52:07.89 and heal those in need, 00:52:07.92\00:52:09.69 then please visit their website Weimar.edu. 00:52:09.72\00:52:13.70 That's Weimar.edu. 00:52:13.73\00:52:18.10 You may also call them at 530-422-7923 00:52:18.13\00:52:23.51 or write to them at Weimar Institute, 00:52:23.54\00:52:26.01 PO Box 486, Weimar, California 95736. 00:52:26.04\00:52:31.88
