Adventist? Like, did you

were missionaries; my dad

was a very serious
mission-minded person,

my mother was a godly
woman, and we traveled

world. We actually survived

about three wars,
going- living as missionaries;

lived in almost 11
countries. And through

all those
experiences, I saw God move in a

mighty way. But
when I went to college my

freshman year, I had
some very deep questions

about God. To make
a long story short, I

almost became an agnostic
because of the questions

I had; I could not
get clear answers to the

questions I was longing
to get answers to... But

GYC changed my life.
In 2010, they came to

Southern, and there
was a preacher there. He

challenged me. He
told me I didn't know the

Bible. And I said,
"You don't know my life!

I've been a missionary
kid most of my life!" - I

know the Bible! - Yeah,
I know the Bible! But he

says, "No, you
don't know the Bible!" And

he started sharing stories
and things, and that really

challenged me. I
guess the word was, I was

furious! - Wow. -
He was preaching from

the front; he
wasn't even talking to me,

but I took it as if
the Holy Spirit was talking

to me and convicting
me. So, I had a conversion

moment in college. - Wow.
- Yeah. - And really, that

GYC. - Yes! It was through

GYC, and that's why I'm
involved with the movement,

life in a very real way.

president of GYC
and leading this youth

movement. It's neat

As a matter of fact, I
remember when they were

choosing the president.
They do in a very prayerful

manner, very serious
way, and they were going to

choose a president on
Saturday night. And on

that Friday, I
almost told them, "Guys, you

know I- this is overwhelming.
I don't know if I would like

to be the president
of this movement, because

It's committed young people

who really want to
see the Lord come, and I

wanted to make sure I
led because God wanted

it very clear, and I accepted

logistics involved.

challenges that you face

one. The biggest challenge
is staying focused on what

matters most to God,
because when you have

a movement like GYC,
you have a lot of moving

lot of logistics, a lot of

different ideas and
all of those different

things. But to just
keep focused on what God is

calling us to do, preaching
the three angels' message,

challenging young
people, empowering them to do

So, that's the biggest
