Adventist Church
didn't own the institution.

that was not supported by

way to be self-sustaining.
They had many industries

there on campus. They
had a food factory and

lots of other things
going on. As a result

of that, the

Seventh-Day

So, that's kind of the

essence of the idea.
Initially, ASI was just

a group of
supporting ministries. It was

schools and
ministries that were maybe...

or related to care for

children or some specialty
aspect of just reaching

in the community and

time I heard of ASI, it was

started going. It just

their life, and for years,

they were trying to
get us to go. I kind

of had a misconception

was a lot of business

people involved and

of Adventist business

started the Youth for Jesus

went there to take her

had a son who was 13 at the

time, so I said,
"Okay." So, I went and I was

just blown away by
what was going on-not with

Jesus program, but then

I went to the convention.
I didn't know there was

so much going on in
the church that laypeople

were doing. So, I
think I've only missed

one since the year
1999. And actually, I

was rebaptized. I had
left the church for like,

20 some years, and
I was converted at the

ASI. - Wow. Praise the
Lord. - Youth for Jesus

and at the
convention, I was rebaptized, so

ASI is really special
to me. - That, you know,

for me, Leasa, as
well, like when I go to ASI

the ministries that are

Lord has 7,000 others going

knees to Baal; but you

you meet all these people

and you see- it encourages

reaching millions of people,

And to do that and ASI
members getting together
