00:01 I want to spend my life
00:08 Mending broken people 00:12 I want to spend my life 00:19 Removing pain 00:24 Lord, let my words 00:30 Heal a heart that hurts 00:34 I want to spend my life 00:40 Mending broken people 00:46 I want to spend my life 00:51 Mending broken people 01:10 Hello and welcome to a very special 3ABN 01:16 Today program. My name is CA Murray and it's 01:19 my pleasure to welcome you to what is going 01:22 to be an exciting, fast-paced hour of 01:25 missionary stories of miracles from the 01:27 Lord- and if you'll excuse me, because I'm 01:30 very happy. I'm a missionary guy. Always 01:33 like to hear the stories when the missionaries 01:34 came back to our church when I was growing up, 01:36 and we have got some stories that literally 01:39 will make your hair fall out. I've heard 01:42 them already, and by the grace of the Lord, 01:45 we're going to share these with you. So 01:47 if you've got an iPad, a pen, pencil, paper, 01:49 fire something up because you may want 01:51 to record this program. And if not, let me 01:53 encourage you to get the DVD, 'cause you're 01:56 going to hear some wonderful, wonderful 01:57 things. Got some great people with me 01:58 this afternoon. - Good to be here. - Good 02:00 to have you all here. Now, Dr. Lela, I know 02:03 you, of course, as the CEO of Your Best 02:06 Pathway to Health. When last we were 02:08 together, we were slaving over a hot 02:10 board meeting. - That's right! - I took almost 02:11 the whole... And you were there! LONG 02:13 board meeting; detailed board meeting! I didn't 02:15 know that you had enough time in your 02:17 day to pal around with this crew! It's good 02:21 to have you here. - Thank you! Nice 02:23 to be here. - Yeah! And there is some 02:25 interconnection- were going to talk about that 02:26 also. So, great things are happening to Kyle, 02:29 Allen. Good to have you here, man. - Good 02:30 to see you, CA. - Vice president-AWR. Got 02:32 the AWR shirt on. And these are good shirts! 02:35 - We matched, but I don't know how. 02:39 - I'm almost envious; I'm almost breaking 02:41 a commandment. I LOVE these shirts. Really 02:45 well done. Duane McKey, president 02:48 of AWR, and also vice president- actually, 02:52 you assist the president of the General Conference 02:54 for TMI. - That's right. - Yeah. So, you've 02:56 got a full plate. - It's exciting. - You 02:59 went out, and-I don't want to say stole Sue 03:02 Hinkle-... - I did. - Well- oh. What you 03:05 borrowed Sue Hinkle which is the outreach 03:07 manager for AWR, and I know doing a 03:09 fine job, because she's good at whatever 03:11 she does. - It's a dream?. 03:14 - It is a dream?. And the mouthpiece, 03:17 Cami Oetman...and let me get the title right. 03:21 Adventist World Radio, vice president for 03:25 advancement. - Yes. - Praise the Lord. 03:27 - It's a delight to be here; thank you. 03:29 - Good to have you all here; smiling 03:30 faces. We said in a previous program, 03:33 if you watch them very closely, this group 03:36 barely touches the ground when they walk- 03:38 it's like three angels flying in the midst of 03:39 heaven-because of what they do and the rewards 03:42 and blessing of the Lord that they're always 03:44 up for the Lord. This is going to be an 03:46 exciting program; you really want to draw 03:47 close to this one and hear what's going on, 03:49 because the Lord is doing some great 03:51 things in the world through AWR. This 03:55 is not your father's AWR doing. This is a brand 03:58 new grown-up, mature AWR that's doing some 04:01 brand-new things, and really, really 04:03 exciting things. - AWR 360- Broadcast 04:05 to Baptism. - I love that. Broadcast to 04:08 Baptism. And I've said this before - growing 04:11 up, we heard about AWR from the time 04:13 they first put that big system in Guam, 04:15 but it was always sort of an out-there kind of 04:18 thing, you know? But out there is now in 04:19 here. Yeah, praise the Lord. It's doing 04:22 some great, great works. Comes the 04:26 man, comes the occasion, and God puts the person 04:29 that He wants in for the time. I could see- 04:31 I CAN see God's hand on you and the ideas 04:37 that- you are a bundle of ideas! And you got 04:41 a good team with you- you know? Really, really 04:44 good team. - The best- the very best. - And 04:47 a great wife that kind of keeps it?. 04:48 - Amen. [laughter] - She's just back 04:52 behind us here. - Now, want to give 04:55 you just a little tease, because we're going 04:56 to talk about some exciting stuff! I 05:00 have no better word than stuff. Going up 05:03 into the highlands of the Philippines 05:04 and doing some things that have possibly 05:06 never been done before evangelistically, and 05:08 really just some great stuff. So, I don't 05:10 even know where to start. let's have 05:11 a quick word of prayer, and then we're going 05:12 to launch out, because we need to get going. 05:15 Good Doctor, just have a quick word 05:17 of prayer for us, if you will. - Dear Father 05:19 in heaven, thank You so much for the opportunity 05:21 of coming together and hearing what You are 05:23 doing through Your Holy Spirit around the world. 05:25 Please bless our program today, and thank You again for 05:28 the opportunity of sharing these 05:29 wonderful truths. In Jesus' name, amen. 05:32 - Praise the Lord. Amen and amen. Now, 05:33 who do- - Dr. Lela and I 05:36 have been friends for many years, since- 05:37 - A long time, yeah. - She helped 05:39 us out when I was president in Arizona. 05:40 We've been friends and connected, and then 05:42 she came up with this idea, Your Best Pathway 05:45 to Health. Started in San Francisco and 05:47 Oakland, and then San Antonio. She 05:49 asked if I would help her in Oakland and 05:52 then in San Francisco, and I said, "Sure! But 05:54 you have you help us..." - It was a deal. 05:56 [laughter] 05:58 There's always? - Always a deal! 06:00 Indeed; indeed. - I got the deal. - The 06:03 Lord blesses in such a marvelous way as 06:05 we combine evangelism along with the medical 06:07 in San Antonio. And because of having 06:10 the Pathway to Health seminars and the 06:13 evangelistic projects and meetings and the 06:16 Bible studies, we now have 6 new churches 06:18 in San Antonio. - Amen! - Praise the Lord. 06:20 - It seems like- who was that? Some lady 06:22 said a long time ago- who was that, Cami? 06:24 There was something about- 06:25 - She's a favorite! [laughter] - About 06:27 the health message, what was that...? Be in 06:30 the... - The right arm. Amen. It's what we're 06:33 supposed to be doing. - Amen. That's what 06:34 we should be doing, isn't it? - That's 06:36 right. What beauty when we do it together! 06:38 - Amen. - And we talk about the perfect 06:41 fit for the person. This energizer bunny. 06:44 I mean, you've never met a person with 06:46 that kind of energy that Dr. Lela Lewis 06:49 has. She is moving ALL the time and has 06:53 never heard a good idea that she didn't 06:55 bite down on. Once she kind of gets her 06:56 teeth into it, done. It's done. - Get 06:59 it out of the way. [laughter] - Well, 07:03 praise the Lord. So you got a good team. 07:06 - We have. I mean, we've been together 07:07 for a long time and we're going to have a 07:08 closer-working relationship; it's a big project. 07:12 Maybe we will hear a little bit about that ere we have 07:13 finished this program. 07:15 - Praise the Lord. Excellent. - By the 07:16 way, just the last program, we were 07:17 talking about Zambia. Something I forgot to 07:19 tell you, we had a thousand meetings in Zambia, 07:21 and the Lord blessed beyond belief. Kyle, 07:25 I think they said we had maybe 2,000, and 07:27 the Lord blessed with almost 18,000 baptisms. 07:34 And they, Cami- they told us at the end, 07:36 they said, what was it? 80% of 07:40 those came from... - AWR. Listened to 07:43 the radio. I just have to say this. 07:46 We were in the pool baptizing. I don't know 07:48 if you said this in the last program, but 07:49 we were in there for over 2 hours, CA, 07:52 baptizing. We got into the pool. 35 or + 07:54 pastors were in that pool. It was cold water, 07:56 believe it or not, in Zambia. Started 07:58 off- it was very clear and blue. By 08:00 the end, dark brown. [eruption of laughter] 08:04 We were happy, because it was like a symbol 08:06 of all those sins being washed away. 08:07 - Yes, amen and amen. - Thousands of people 08:09 giving their hearts to Jesus and having 08:10 listened to AWR. - Praise the Lord. God 08:13 is good. How wonderful- getting-pruny-for-Jesus 08:14 kind of thing. Excellent! - We have had an 08:17 exciting summer; that is for sure. Not only 08:20 with Zambia; the next we went to...Palawan! 08:23 - Have you been to Palawan? - You know, 08:25 I have! I've been there a couple of times. 08:27 - Let's hear! - Kyle, do you remember that? 08:30 Just a few weeks ago? - Yes! Yes. - It was 08:32 unbelievable what God did. Sue, bless your 08:35 heart- all your work ahead of time. We did 08:37 a free mega clinic there. We call it 08:39 LifeSource. What happened, Kyle? - Well- by the 08:42 way, Palawan, Philippines, just to clarify. It 08:45 was in the Philippines. An island in the 08:47 southwest part of the Philippines. So, we 08:49 said-like you said, Duane-health evangelism 08:54 must be combined with the preaching. So, 08:57 the TMI meetings were coming up. We said, 08:59 "We need to have a clinic before the TMI 09:01 meetings to serve the people of Whole Person 09:03 Health." - And that was the approach that 09:06 we took with the government, and they 09:07 were very excited about it. - And they 09:09 provided amazingly. - They actually gave us 09:12 the colosseum completely for free. It was a 09:15 total blessing from God, 'cause there's 09:16 no way in the world we could've been 09:18 able to afford that. - And the conference, 09:19 the union- everybody partnered together. 09:21 The hospital there- so many people came 09:23 together to make it possible. - But we didn't 09:25 just do the medical. That's the big thing. 09:27 We brought the whole person - physical, 09:30 mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. 09:33 - We call that in TMI and AWR 360 "connecting 09:36 the dots." - And that's an awesome way of 09:41 describing it, 'cause that's exactly what we 09:42 did. We decided from what we learned at 09:45 Pathway that we wanted to bring a closer connection 09:48 between the spiritual, the physical, and mental, 09:50 and emotional, so we actually shut the 09:52 clinic down. Is that right, Kyle? - Well, 09:54 it's amazing, 'cause you know at Pathway, 09:55 we've talked about it before, CA. I mean, 09:57 there is so much happening. People are ready to get 10:00 their services. Thousands of people are in line 10:01 and you would think, "Why would you shut 10:03 the clinic down?" - You've got thousands 10:04 of people outside! What are you thinking about? 10:06 Hello!? - There's doctors here, there's 10:08 providers- why shut the clinic down? But 10:09 Dr. Lela, you felt very convicted. - I 10:12 felt very convicted that's what God 10:14 wanted us to do. - That we need to do this, 10:15 and so we did! We shut it down from 12 to 10:16 1. - Wow. - By faith. It was a total by-faith 10:18 thing. - Oh, in the middle of the day? 10:19 - In the middle of the day, we shut that 10:22 clinic down! From 12 to 1. - To serve lunch, 10:24 but more importantly, to serve Whole Person 10:27 Health. And Dr. Lela, you got up first, 10:30 and she would make a presentation on 10:32 physical health, and then would bridge- 10:35 - And tying into the mental and emotional, 10:37 and then bridge to spiritual. - And then 10:40 I came up and did a spiritual health 10:41 presentation. So, we're presenting Whole Person 10:44 Health, making that bridge between- 10:46 we don't want just people to be healed 10:48 physically; we want them healed spiritually, 10:49 as well. So, we did that each of the 3 10:51 days during the noon hour. It was really 10:54 a blessing. - It was quite a learning 10:55 experience, I would say. God totally 10:58 blessed. - At first, it didn't really- 10:59 it was a little hard for us the first time 11:02 we had done it the first day, and people 11:04 are milling around still, BUT we noticed 11:05 people were listening! And they were following, 11:08 Sue, you know? I mean, they were there... 11:11 - It was incredible. When you made an 11:12 appeal for how many want to give their 11:15 lives to Christ, all the hands went up. 11:18 It seemed like that entire colosseum had 11:21 their hands raised. - The amazing thing was- 11:24 Doctor, tell them what happened, 11:26 because you were speaking. - Okay. So, 11:28 I go to make my mini appeal kind of halfway 11:30 between before I hand it off to Kyle, 11:33 and I'm at the point where I'm saying, 11:36 "You have the opportunity. The discussion was on 11:39 the frontal lobe. You have the opportunity 11:41 to have the mind of Christ, that the name 11:43 of Jesus for the people who look up and say, 11:45 'Lo, this is our God; we have waited for 11:46 Him! He will save us!'- they get to have His 11:48 name in their forehead! And that can be you! 11:50 You can have this opportunity!" I'm 11:52 JUST about to make that appeal and 11:54 invite Kyle to come speak it. Out of the 11:56 blue, from nowhere, great thunder and 11:58 lightning just BOOM! - Literally, boom. 12:01 - Boom! It was boom. It was definitely boom. 12:03 And it overshadowed my voice and God just 12:06 took my voice above this chaos and it just went 12:09 WHOOSH! And Kyle... - Whoosh. - Kyle 12:12 came up, and he took over, but the rain 12:15 and the thunder stopped! Right, Kyle? When you 12:18 saw it. - It subsided. Then I preached; 12:20 I talked about heaven and how we all have 12:23 the hope of being together with God 12:25 one day- and full health in heaven, 12:26 amen? - Amen. - And so we made an appeal, 12:28 like you said, Sue. - We both stood up 12:30 together to make the final appeal. - She 12:32 came up and we start making the appeal, and 12:34 right as we're making the appeal... [Thunder noises] 12:38 There it goes again. The thunder! - And 12:40 the rain! But God took both of our 12:42 voices this time, again, above the storm. You 12:44 were there, Sue. It was the most powerful 12:46 thing. And like you said, literally, it was 12:48 like the wave. You see at these big 12:50 colosseums, people standing- everybody 12:52 just raising their hands. - We asked 12:54 people to stand who would accept Christ, 12:56 and they just stood all around the auditorium. 12:58 Those that were standing in line, even then, we 13:00 asked them to raise their hands to accept 13:02 Jesus. - We did have a few pictures, too, 13:04 if they would like to show what we're 13:05 talking about. - Oh, sure. - And you know 13:07 what else happened, too, kind of, Cami, coming what 13:09 happened afterwards was that Kyle really 13:12 made a big emphasis- in fact, all 3 days, 13:15 to invite the people to the meetings that 13:17 happened subsequently two days later. - Now, 13:19 this is outside the stadium? - That's the 13:21 team. - Some of the volunteers. - There was 13:25 actually, just to bring an idea of 13:27 what actually took place, there were only 300 13:29 volunteers. It was literally a Gideon 13:31 army. We served, by God's grace- you 13:35 could see the thousands of people that are 13:37 there. - Wow. - Just under in the end, it 13:40 was just under 9,000 patients. - Oh, no, no, no, 13:43 you're-... Really? It's true? - It's true. 13:46 9,000 patients-no joke. A Gideon army of 300- 13:51 and that was with, by faith, shutting the 13:53 clinic down for one hour. - We're talking 13:55 surgeries, the dental, the eye care- all that. 13:57 It was amazing. - When you said, "We 13:59 shut it down," well, of course; you've got 14:01 to shut it down sooner or later. I didn't 14:02 know you meant in the middle of the day, which 14:04 is- that's a God thing. To do that and 14:07 get that kind of response- now, Sue, they were 14:09 speaking, so I know the speaking in. 14:11 As a person who put this together and to 14:13 see and experience that, give me some 14:15 sense of what was going on in your 14:16 heart and your mind. - It was really amazing. 14:19 During the clinic, I worked in the exit 14:22 management when people were going out. 14:24 We had an opportunity to talk to the patients 14:27 as they were leaving. We were giving them 14:30 Christian literature and inviting them 14:33 to the evangelistic meetings which would 14:35 begin that Friday evening. They were 14:39 so happy-so excited. We had a language 14:42 barrier with some- of course, I don't 14:45 speak Tagalog and they didn't speak English, 14:47 but you could tell they were so excited. 14:49 The really exciting- or not anymore 14:54 exciting, but- it was nice to see them 14:58 bridging over then to the evangelistic 15:00 meetings. We started Friday evening. One 15:04 lady came up to me. I was at an evangelistic 15:07 site and she goes, "I remember you! 15:09 You gave me some literature!" She said, 15:12 "You gave me 3 pieces of literature!" - Oh, amen! 15:15 - Anyway, she went to every meeting. She 15:20 didn't miss, and I didn't see her the last 15:23 Sabbath, but she was planning on being 15:24 baptized. It was really exciting. 15:28 - It's powerful, CA. I mean, this is what 15:31 we're told, right? It's the right arm. 15:32 When the Savior mingled with men as one who 15:35 desired their good, He ministered to their 15:39 needs, won their confidence, and then 15:40 He begged them, "Follow Me." - That's the 15:42 key right there! He begged them follow Him. 15:46 If we don't do that- in my opinion, we've 15:50 sinned. Because what have we created? Healthy 15:54 sinners? I mean, how is that- 15:56 - Say that one more time. - Healthy 15:57 sinners! How is that helpful to anybody? 16:01 It's harmful! I just feel so excited about 16:07 the opportunity of this beautiful bridge. 16:10 Cami, tell us about your friend. - Yes. 16:13 Now, this is just one of several stories 16:15 of how the AWR 360 model really works 16:19 when you bring in the medical piece, the 16:21 evangelism, the radio- it's incredible. There 16:24 was this couple that were- he was actually 16:26 bedridden; he was crippled. This caused 16:30 a lot of tension in the marriage and 16:32 they were fighting all the time and the 16:33 children were upset. One day, they turned 16:36 their radio to a program- AWR of course-and they 16:40 started to hear about the gospel message 16:43 and Jesus' love. They fell in love with 16:45 these messages and it became a part of their 16:47 home. Then they heard about this medical 16:51 clinic being in their city and that they 16:53 needed to go. It was free? What!? 16:56 So, they arranged and found their way there 16:58 to be at the medical clinic. He got the 17:02 services that he needed. AWR also found out 17:05 that he did not have a wheelchair. So, 17:07 just put that in the back there for a 17:09 moment. And then this family, while they were 17:12 there, as you guys just shared, they 17:14 were invited to the evangelistic series. 17:16 So not only did they hear that on the radio 17:19 to be invited, but then in person at the 17:21 medical- it all was coming together for 17:23 them. "We love this so much here at the medical 17:25 clinic! We gotta go to this evangelistic 17:27 series! We gotta go!" So the family, they 17:30 all get together and every night, they 17:33 come to an evangelistic meeting and they learn 17:35 more about Jesus. Now, in the meantime, 17:38 their little radio that had saved this 17:40 family by learning about Jesus, it broke. 17:45 AWR heard about that- the local AWR team. 17:47 So, this is fascinating what this team does 17:50 there. They actually have this special guy 17:52 that will take the radio and fix the 17:56 radio JUST to AWR, and these are the 17:59 radios that they had- it's a brand-new radio; 18:02 it just only plays AWR! [laughter] 18:05 So anyway, they brought this family a new radio. 18:10 They were thrilled, and of course, it 18:12 played the station that they preferred 18:13 anyhow, so it was perfect! They 18:15 listened to the radio, they're attending 18:16 the evangelistic series, they receive 18:17 the medical help, and what's most amazing- 18:20 if you would actually roll, we have a clip 18:22 I'd like to play. - A little video clip. 18:26 - Yeah. It's the Palawan "end event;" I don't 18:29 want to say...the baptism. If you could 18:31 play that...yeah. Oh, this is actually of 18:33 them preaching. If we could go- yeah, that's 18:36 okay. We can play this, too. But what 18:39 happened was that, you'll see in a few 18:41 moments that on the big baptismal day... 18:44 - We're here. Let's just- we'll leave that story 18:48 for a second; let's talk about this. This 18:50 is 552 people came forward just at 18:53 the appeal. - Wow, praise God. - So, 18:55 here's the baptism. In a moment, you're 18:57 going to see this precious family, 18:59 because this man was brought- a wheelchair 19:04 by AWR was brought out into the sand, 19:07 they carried him into the ocean, and he was 19:10 baptized. You're going to see this in just 19:13 a moment here; it was such a beautiful 19:15 sight. The whole family is reunited 19:19 together in the gospel message, and this 19:24 is all through AWR 360- the Holy Spirit 19:26 working through AWR 360, connecting the 19:29 dots through- OK, so maybe it was the next... 19:32 Is there a picture with the... Yes. Here's 19:34 this precious family, and there he is there with 19:36 his precious radio, with his children 19:39 that are so- they commented, "Thank you 19:42 for sharing with us, because our family 19:44 is different now." - Wow. - He's being 19:46 carried like that. - Isn't that beautiful? Amen. 19:50 - This family's so grateful, and that's just one 19:53 of the many stories that we were able to 19:56 film about how God is using all of these 19:59 ministry pieces coming together-radio, 20:02 evangelism, medical- they're all important, 20:05 and together, they're powerful. Together, 20:07 they're mighty. And you know what? It's 20:08 what we're told to do in the end time. 20:10 I'm so excited to be a part of a 20:12 team that is doing this. All facets coming 20:15 together and this is what it does- 20:16 it produces a whole family. - That's 20:18 beautiful. Praise God. - Doctor, is this 20:20 the first time that Pathway has gone 20:22 outside of the United States for an event? 20:24 - Well, you know, this is AWR LifeSource 20:27 mega clinic, so although I have the same 20:30 smile, this is not your Best Pathway 20:33 to Health. We're really happy that Pathway 20:35 is a North American division? 20:37 But AWR is the international opportunity to share 20:42 this around the world. - Well done. - I told 20:46 you I have a dream team. - You do! - There's 20:48 going to be more opportunities as we 20:52 look to next year for people to volunteer 20:53 internationally from other clinics, so 20:55 stay tuned. - Praise the Lord. - And the next 20:56 year, and the next year... - Yeah. This 20:58 is an ongoing thing. Well, I mean, it's 20:59 not like God said, "The people wouldn't 21:01 need us anymore." - Until Jesus comes. 21:02 - Did you have volunteers that came from the 21:04 States...? - We did! We had 21:06 quite a number, and we had quite a number 21:08 of amazing specialists from Loma Linda. 21:11 - Heads of departments, right, Lela? - Yes! 21:14 We had quite a number of departments, but 21:15 we even had a neurosurgeon that 21:17 came from Loma Linda, an ear, nose and throat 21:19 specialist, a ...gynecologist our own 21:22 Dr. Lindo came... - Some were nurses. 21:24 - A lot of nurses, doctors... There was 21:27 a doctor that came from Australia, a 21:28 dermatologist... They came from all over 21:30 the world, actually, to participate. - So 21:33 you covered more patients with less 21:34 people. - That's right. I mean, that's never 21:37 happened, ever. 300 volunteers total. 21:41 That included all the non-medical people, 21:42 too. The local doctors participated, the local 21:47 nurses- yeah. It was a beautiful time. 21:50 - What was the response from local government 21:52 after having seen this? 'Cause being on the 21:55 board of your best, I know what you go 21:56 through in the States. - Yeah. - But this 21:58 is a whole different ball game. - It was 22:00 phenomenal, wasn't it, Kyle? I mean, we went 22:01 there and met at the mayor's office, and 22:03 remember what had just happened-I think 22:05 it was a couple weeks before-there were some 22:06 issues happening. - Yes; a mayor in 22:08 the Philippines had been assassinated. 22:10 - Oh, wow. - Two mayors, actually, 22:11 just before. - But we got to meet the mayor, 22:13 and he brought us in and was so thankful. 22:15 I mean, all- actually, we met several council 22:16 people, city councilman... They were all so 22:19 thankful! "Why are you guys here doing 22:20 this for us in our city?" - And he even 22:22 came and spoke for the special dinner. The 22:25 mayor came and they were very, very happy 22:27 for the services. - It's amazing, the 22:29 impact that medical evangelism- all that 22:32 has on the city officials. - Yes, yes. 22:34 - It opens doors. - The department of 22:35 health- actually, the medical director 22:37 for the department of health is actually a 22:38 Seventh-Day Adventist, and he used HIS position 22:41 to also help, as well. - Praise the Lord. 22:43 - God is good. - I need to say one thing. - Mhm. 22:47 - Kyle. Look at his face. [laughter] 22:52 And my face. - Do not look at my face. -AWR does not grow beards. 22:57 - Indeed. [more laughter] But the General 23:01 Conference is going to Battle Creek to do a 23:04 special pioneer if they want us to live like 23:09 the pioneers. So I have 6 weeks and 23:11 Kathy says, "Shave it off." - Indeed. I guess I'll 23:13 never make it to the General Conference; 23:15 I can't grow a beard. - I would like to 23:17 let the president of AWR can grow a real 23:18 beard. This is three weeks in; this is mine. 23:20 This is not a real beard, CA. [laughter] 23:22 I'm just in awe of Duane's beard. - I 23:24 said the same thing to him. Very much 23:27 in awe; well done. - We're following Elder 23:29 Wilson on this one. - Sue had this one 23:33 story about this young man who preached, 23:35 and he came- he'd only been baptized just 23:38 recently. He got tricked into coming, 23:40 he thought he was going to go just 23:42 have fun on the beach, and all of 23:43 a sudden he's preaching these meetings. 23:45 - I love this story. So we're talking 23:47 about the evangelism portion that came 23:50 right after the medical clinic. We had a 23:52 group of young adults come in from Australia. 23:55 There were some others that came, as well, 23:56 but almost half the team was these young adults 23:59 from Australia. And this young man, 21, 24:01 he started preaching, and it wasn't long 24:07 down the line that he came to me and he 24:09 said, "I cannot preach that Sabbath message." 24:11 And I said, "Why is that?" He said, 24:14 "Because I'll feel like a hypocrite, because 24:18 I'm not convinced on the Sabbath, myself." 24:21 He had just been baptized March before 24:24 that. This was in July, so that was March. 24:26 - And tell just a little bit about his life 24:27 before he was baptized- that he went through 24:30 a lot of struggles. - Yes. He had a lot 24:32 of addictions, party type- just a lot of 24:37 stuff that this young man was going through 24:39 before he was baptized. Anyway, he didn't 24:43 want to preach the Sabbath message. 24:44 I said, "You know what? Here's what you do. 24:46 You just go out there and you read the 24:48 script." - The Holy Spirit led her. 24:50 - She's an expert at this. - You don't 24:52 have to say, "I believe this," or anything. 24:56 You just go read the script to the people." 24:58 And he's like, "Okay. I think I can do it. 25:01 I'll do it." So he goes. When he returns, 25:04 I'm able to talk to him and I said, "So 25:06 how did it go?" And here was his words. 25:10 "I am more than convinced about the 25:12 Sabbath." - Amen. - That is amazing. 25:18 - Praise the Lord. - Yes. And just so 25:20 many of our team- I mean, one older 25:23 lady that was preaching said, "I now feel 25:26 alive. I feel alive." - Amen. Evangelism 25:30 changes not only those we're preaching to, 25:32 but our own lives as we preach the 25:35 Word of God. - The young man was hearing 25:37 things he didn't believe out of his own mouth 25:39 and he started believing what he was hearing. 25:40 - That's right! - You know, though, what's 25:41 amazing is when you do open yourself up 25:43 to preach evangelistic series, which I highly 25:45 recommend to everyone, that you are speaking 25:49 biblical truth; it is coming through you. 25:51 The Holy Spirit is working through you. 25:53 How can that not change you? Every time I 25:56 preach a series, my conviction just goes 25:58 deeper and deeper and deeper. I think that 26:01 all of us Christians need to be out there 26:05 winning souls. - I would just like to 26:07 say that even for me as a pastor. 26:09 I was in Zambia, I got to preach; it 26:11 was a beautiful experience, preaching 26:13 under the stars there. But I'm telling you- 26:15 it reaffirmed my faith. - Amen. - So anybody 26:17 that's watching us today, I would just 26:20 encourage you to take the opportunity. 26:23 God may be giving you an opportunity to 26:24 preach somewhere. Take that opportunity because 26:26 it will strengthen your faith- or give 26:28 a Bible study. When we do those things, 26:29 that's really total member involvement- to do 26:32 something for God. - You see, AWR hires 26:34 only evangelists. [laughter] - Very true. 26:39 I think this is one of the strongest 26:40 inducements for someone to get involved in 26:42 this. The fact that 1) as you helped 26:45 convert others, you will reconvert yourself. 26:47 As you light a fire in their lives, you 26:49 will light that same fire in your own life, 26:51 THEN you will find that it's an addictive 26:52 thing. You do it once, you want to do it 26:54 again and again. So if your spiritual 26:56 experience is fatiguing, running a little low, this may 27:00 be an excellent way to jumpstart your own 27:03 salvation experience; by doing for others, 27:05 you will do for yourself. - And you 27:06 just get to live on a natural high. [laughter] 27:10 - I tell ya- their feet don't touch the ground. 27:12 - You'd want to get an energizer bunny. 27:15 - All these? 27:17 - No, no; you're still the ultra-energizer. 27:20 - Right, right. I agree with you, Kyle. She's 27:22 the ultra-bunny. - Last year, we took 27:27 Japanese- how many did we take? - 48 27:33 I think 48. - 48 of them came into all 27:35 the Philippines to preach and they 27:36 got excited and they went back home and preached 27:37 this- they never preached before, and so that's 27:39 what we did to jumpstart the work 27:42 in Japan this year! We did 162 meetings 27:45 there- first time in the history of 27:47 the country. - Wow. - And so we decided 27:49 to do something for China. We had 40... 27:54 Do you remember the number? 47? - 47. 27:57 - 47 Chinese young adults, Kyle, from 28:01 Meilin, China. China!- who came and preached 28:06 the first meetings. - Praise God. - In Mindoro. 28:08 And then we found something else out 28:09 there. When we were there, there were- 28:13 boy. For 49 years, there are these 28:19 communist rebels. - This is an incredible 28:21 story. This is incredible. - Yes. - Do we want to 28:24 roll the tape while we're talking about it? - Sure. 28:26 Right. Here they are. 49 years, these rebels 28:30 have been fighting the government. They're 28:32 communist and they've been trying to take 28:33 over the government. They supported the 28:35 outside- - Some impressive 28:36 guns they're taking out. - Yeah, yeah. 28:38 It's just amazing. - It's the real 28:39 deal. - It IS the real deal. Now, 28:41 there's this place called Zigzag. Is that 28:44 you, Cami, in front of these guys with 28:45 masks? - Yes. - Were you scared? - Actually- 28:48 - Should we pause it, or? It kind of went- 28:50 okay, we'll just keep going. Yeah, so Zigzag is 28:53 a spot on the island where it zigzags- 28:57 the road zigzags, and they would position 29:00 themselves at the top of that zigzag. 29:03 You can imagine what happens when the 29:04 enemy comes. They can easily take them out. 29:07 - They call it the Killing Fields. -Yeah. 29:09 And this is the mindset. But who can change 29:12 that kind of mindset? - God. - You bet. So, 29:14 what we found out is that in those 29:18 mountains, they are listening to their radios. 29:22 To AWR! - A year ago- a year and three months- 29:27 we started broadcasting first time ever. We 29:29 had no Adventists up there. And all of 29:31 a sudden, we have 88 villages! 29:35 - 88 villages! - 88 whole villages with 29:40 Bible workers studying, and many of these 29:43 are the rebels! They're listening. - They're 29:46 laying down their machine guns and 29:49 picking up the gospel stuff. - They give 29:52 an AK-47 for a Bible. - It's awesome. 29:56 of the prophecy? - Yes! - Just this last 30:00 Sabbath, I was at a church and I was 30:01 telling the story. There was a lady 30:04 there that's from the Philippines. 30:06 She was totally amazed by it. She said, "in all 30:10 of these years-these 49 years-no ministry 30:14 has been able to penetrate that group." 30:17 - Amen. - You know why? - Tell me. 30:20 [laughter] - Medical evangelism. - Yes. 30:24 That's a big piece of it. - Every year 30:25 when we go there-we've gone there several 30:27 years-and we'll give the rebels money 30:28 to buy medicine. We send medicines up to 30:30 them. We're building relationships and 30:32 friends. So now, we start broadcasting 30:34 medical and Bible, and they're listening, and- 30:37 - If that's not the entering wedge, 30:38 I don't know what is. - Thank you. - It 30:39 changes their lives. - Amen. - That is 30:41 awesome. - This is a hard place. You 30:43 wouldn't go up there, would you, Duane? - No! 30:45 No, no. [laughter] - He's actually 30:49 serious! Actually, the colonel in charge 30:53 of the island-the military colonel from 30:55 the Philippine army- he said, "This is 30:58 so exciting to see what is happening. 30:59 They're sick and tired of being killed- 31:02 being shot at all these years. And 31:05 they're shooting at their own people! They're 31:07 coming out- they'll massacre the soldiers. 31:10 They'll trap them, and then the soldiers 31:12 are sitting there. There are helicopters 31:14 up there, gunships, and find them out 31:15 in the open and massacre them. 31:17 They spent this terrible 49 years of this 31:19 battle, this war, going on. They had 31:22 one purpose- it was to overthrow the 31:23 government! All of a sudden, wow. 31:26 - Now, these people are laying down 31:28 these machine guns, so you can imagine 31:30 that the government army is thrilled for 31:34 AWR. - It's so amazing to me how, again, when 31:38 we offer people when we start by offering their 31:41 physical needs-their felt needs, if you will- 31:46 that all of a sudden, they realize, "Oh, these 31:48 people are for real! They care about me 31:51 in other ways," and they're willing to 31:52 listen when we give them spiritual help, 31:55 as well. It's so beautiful. - While 31:57 you share, let's roll that video of the 31:59 medical team. - You should see what it 32:01 took the medical team to get to that village. 32:04 Now, we went there via helicopter. - Fortunately, 32:09 we found an Adventist helicopter that took 32:11 us in. - So here we go. So this is... 32:13 - We had a military escort taking us up 32:15 to the mountains. - So this is a village 32:16 surrounded by all that jungle. - Well, 32:18 this is a different village. I don't- hmm. 32:20 We need the medical- - I think, maybe, we'll 32:23 get there. - Okay. 32:27 - These are people coming to the meetings 32:28 here. - Okay, this is actually- yeah. 32:30 People walking to the meetings. They would 32:31 walk miles and miles just to come every 32:34 single night. One of the Chinese speakers- 32:36 he was so overwhelmed and in awe of how 32:38 God was using him. There were literally 32:41 dozens and dozens of villagers that would 32:43 walk. One group of them- 20 kilometers 32:47 every night. [Wow.] - So- yes. If we 32:50 could roll the clip of the medical doctors. 32:54 I think it was titled "Doctors," maybe, 32:56 of them reaching the rebels. Here we go. 32:59 - There they are. - This is the day 33:01 where we were all coming together. 33:03 This is the volunteer medical team there 33:05 in Mindoro, and this- it works. It just 33:09 works together. Here's the government army. 33:13 - We had a military escort. - We had 33:15 prayer with them before we started. The soldiers 33:19 came and took our hands and we prayed 33:20 together. - It was beautiful. - They 33:22 had about 100 villagers coming down. 33:25 - So by hand, they had to take all of 33:26 the medical supplies in. 33:28 - Guess how long it took them to walk. 33:30 Not only these hundred quarters that came down 33:32 to bring up the supplies but also the medical 33:34 staff. - They said if you go, probably 33:35 it'd take about four hours. We got 33:37 to thinking, "That's not going to work. 33:38 That's too far." - No. - And then all of a 33:40 sudden, we find out... - Look it- this is just 33:42 the beginning. - It turns out it's 10 hours 33:46 to hike. That's how long it took, 'cause 33:48 it's wet? - This isn't like 33:50 a normal little hike. This is where you're 33:53 up to your knees. - This is not a 33:54 well-manicured trail. [laughter] 33:55 This is our medical team. - These are 33:59 our doctors- that's right. Here they are 34:01 giving them services and the medicines, 34:02 healing them so that then, when they are 34:05 out of pain, then they can take in the gospel 34:07 message. - Yes. It was beautiful to 34:10 witness that. - That is just jaw-dropping. 34:13 Isn't that just incredible? - And 34:15 then, to top it off, Duane had a wonderful 34:19 worship moment we had there with them and 34:21 some singing, and they did a little 34:23 performance for us as a welcome and brought 34:26 us a little food, and it was wonderful. But what 34:28 topped off the day then was- 34:30 - Yeah. It was thrilling. Actually, for half an 34:33 hour, we had a river. They said, "We'll 34:35 walk down," then they got to looking at us 34:37 and they felt sorry for us, so they had to 34:39 ? their... and they dammed it up. 34:41 They said, "Well, have the baptism here." 34:43 - A beautiful little pool. - So we went 34:45 to this small pool. It worked out just great. 34:47 I was in when they baptized- yeah. 34:49 60- another 200 a couple days later. 34:52 That day, we baptized 5 of their generals. 34:56 - Wait- say that again? - 5 rebel 34:58 communist generals. - Wait- say that again? 35:01 - 5 rebel generals. - God is good. 35:06 - God can do anything. He wants every soul 35:08 and He's proving it. - They laid down their 35:10 machine guns and picked up a Bible. - Praise 35:12 the Lord. - Can you imagine that? - Now, 35:14 you did that baptism? - Yeah. - Some sense 35:17 of what was going on in your heart? 35:18 - Oh, just amazing. - I'm shaking under 35:20 this robe because- I'm glad I got this big thing 35:22 under - You see this? 35:23 and you realize where you're at and I figured 35:25 out that these rebels, every time- we've been 35:27 there many times, and we always realized 35:29 that our life is in danger, so we're kind 35:32 of giving the rebels medicine so they won't 35:34 shoot us! [laughter] And all of a sudden, 35:40 we're broadcasting. They're hearing the 35:42 health message, they're hearing the Bible message, 35:44 and their hearts are being changed. There's 35:47 power in the works. I did not feel at 35:49 all- when I was there, I didn't feel any danger 35:52 at all. Really, that whole village had 35:54 become so, just grateful for the medicine, 35:58 grateful for the gospel, grateful for the 36:00 baptisms... - Their whole lives are changed. 36:02 You can't believe this, but- you guys 36:04 tell him about what happened- how peccant 36:06 they are. - Yeah. There are several things; 36:10 it breaks my heart, but this is before 36:13 they knew the gospel, of course. They're 36:15 allowed to have 3 children. If they have 36:19 a fourth... Oh, I can't even say it. 36:21 - They bury the child alive. They dig a hole 36:25 and bury it alive. Just before we got 36:27 there, we had some of our medical people 36:29 up there. - Rescued one baby. They wife-swapped 36:35 for, I think it was, 400 pesos. If they 36:37 want to exchange wives, they just pay 400. 36:39 They marry at 13 years old, start having babies. 36:43 So there's many generations that have 36:45 been living up there now within those 49 36:46 years when you think it through. There's 36:50 many that've just sort of been ingrained 36:52 with this- but no matter, the gospel 36:55 message still reaches those; it still pricks 36:57 their hearts.? 36:59 That's because Jesus is the answer to everything! 37:00 - It was so exciting. Was it you, Duane, 37:03 that asked, "How many of you-" all the people 37:05 from the village have gathered around and 37:08 I think you asked, "How many of you 37:09 have come to know Jesus by listening to the 37:12 radio?" - All their hands raised. 37:17 - It's powerful. - This makes me think. 37:19 Just today, I had one of my friends 37:21 text me and she has a problem with a mental 37:23 illness. So many times, we think, "There are 37:26 certain things that just can't be healed. 37:28 Jesus can't fix those kinds of things. It's 37:31 just whatever it is." But to hear this, 37:34 to hear a complete transformation of 37:37 an entire community... Jesus can change 37:41 anyone. There's someone listening right now 37:44 that you think, "Jesus can't change you." 37:46 Jesus can change you. - Absolutely. Amen. 37:49 - And Jesus can- I'm sorry, Kyle, but 37:51 He can change situations. Not individuals can impact 37:56 situations, can impact communities, can impact 37:58 societies, can change countries... It is 38:04 without end-it is limitless. - He's pulling 38:07 down strongholds. - Precisely. But it's 38:09 not one village. It's 88. [laughter] 38:15 - Now, those 88 also need new churches. 38:17 Keep that in mind. - They just want 38:21 roofing. $4,000, I think. - Kyle, 38:24 you actually get to talk. I always cut 38:26 you off here. - It's such a powerful team. 38:28 No, but when they were up there, I was worried 38:29 about them. I was texting, "Are you guys 38:31 okay? Are you safe with all that stuff 38:33 going on in the rebel territory?" But you 38:34 know what, I was thinking about it. 38:36 That's really what Jesus did for us. 38:38 I mean, this world was so dangerous, 38:40 and He came down from the heavenly courts 38:42 to this world where there was all this 38:44 suffering and death. He gave up His life 38:46 for us. How much is that- that's a call 38:49 for us to go and just as Jesus did. 38:53 - Even to the places that aren't quite 38:54 so pristine. - 'Cause that's what Jesus 38:58 taught at. - That's right. I truly believe 38:59 He will protect us until our work is done. 39:04 We're safe. It's okay. Yeah- march forward! 39:08 - We're safe. We're really safe. - Amen. 39:12 - Amen! - That's right. - Another exciting 39:16 one of those 88 villages is called the Isla Verde, 39:20 the Green Island. A year ago, as we were 39:24 all leaving Mindoro after preaching, we 39:27 get Robert Du Layar, our AWR contact 39:30 there-our? producer He got a phone 39:33 call, and it was this wife of a chief. She 39:36 said, "You know what? We've been getting 39:38 your radio messages over here." Robert's 39:41 like, "What!?" 'Cause we didn't know that 39:43 the radio airwaves were reaching that 39:45 far. See, I think God takes them a little 39:47 extra farther... as we go. - So 39:51 this woman, she was so- she said, "Please, 39:53 can you send us Bible workers to our island?" 39:54 Well, long story short, the AWR team had the 39:57 privilege of going to that island and 40:00 witnessing baptisms- a mass baptism which 40:04 you were able to baptize many of them! 40:06 This has never been done on this 40:07 island before. So Bible workers were sent, 40:09 AWR radio was playing, and then we had an 40:12 evangelistic series and then we came 40:14 and there was incredible baptisms-awesome. 40:16 Another island, really quick- it's 40:19 Tanauan. This little island- this 40:22 is so remote that these people only can get their 40:27 water by leaving the island in a boat- 40:30 can you imagine this? And the women do it; 40:31 it's the women-they get in the boat, they 40:35 take their heavy container, they go get water, 40:38 come back, then they've got to carry it into 40:39 the camp. Anyway, they have been 40:42 listening to AWR. And actually, a lot of rebels 40:45 will take refuge in this area, we found 40:46 out, as well. AWR is reaching them. So 40:50 much so that only the month before we 40:53 arrived, they had a baptism, and their 40:56 whole community is now Seventh-Day 40:58 Adventists and they built their own church. 40:59 Would you- I think- did they show the 41:01 video? You can see that. This is Tanaan. 41:06 It's just a small little community right there, 41:09 but they're reaching out because many 41:11 other islands surround them! The idea is 41:15 going to be-they're praying for this, 41:16 so join us in prayer and support-that only- 41:20 I think it's 3 or 4 kilometers away-there is 41:23 a spring of water where, if they could 41:26 just have a tube- - Pipe. - A pipe. 41:30 Thank you. A pipe! [laughter] They can 41:33 then get the water. See, this is how the 41:35 woman's carrying it in from the boat. 41:36 Can get the water to the front of the 41:40 island there and at the church point 41:42 where they're going to play AWR radio 41:44 all the time, they're going to bring the 41:46 water in with the pipe from the spring at 41:49 the church, and it's going to be the 41:51 Seventh-Day Adventist AWR mission spot 41:54 for that whole island! Only $8,000 and we can 41:58 bring them water. Not only water- 42:00 physical water-spiritual water. - Praise God. 42:04 - When you drink of the spirit of life, you know 42:06 you will never thirst again. - Exactly! So, things 42:09 like this are just happening all over. It's so 42:11 exciting. Now, we must fit in India. Go for 42:14 it. I want to hear all about it. - Kyle 42:17 and I were just there, and Sue, in India. 42:19 Thrilling things are- next year's focus 42:22 of the General Conference is India. India is- 42:25 challenging is one point. 3 billion people. Many 42:28 of them-most of them- do not know Jesus. 42:31 So we were thinking, "How can we do this?" 42:33 I've ordered 2,000 video projectors 42:36 to have 2,000 meetings. But before we do the 42:39 meetings, we're going to do health evangelism 42:41 in 2,000 villages. [Amen.] We're 42:45 thinking, "Is that really going to work?" 42:46 And then Kyle, we were just there- 42:49 Spicer at our university. Something really 42:52 exciting happened that kind of gave us a lot of 42:54 hope for India. - That's right. So 42:56 we were there last- well, just recently, 42:58 on Sabbath, and we got to meet this 43:00 group of young adults that is really on 43:02 fire for sharing the message. These 43:04 are college students; they're studying different 43:07 professions, but CA, they are on fire 43:09 for the message. We went in their classroom 43:11 where they meet on Sabbath afternoons 43:14 to pray and to encourage one another, and it 43:16 was so exciting because they're all talking about 43:18 their plans and they're strategizing and, by 43:21 God's grace, Duane, they agreed- 43:24 - There were 50 there. - 50 there 43:27 and they had Facebook live going for another 43:29 200 that were watching all over 43:30 the- yeah. Led by a guy that has an 43:34 amazing conversion story. He was a 43:36 Hindu- he was a Buddhist priest. 43:39 Excuse me. Buddhist priest. Anyway- 43:42 - And all of a sudden, he's a senior, a Spicer, 43:44 he's graduating, he's got a greed to 43:46 reach the world for Jesus. - He has got 43:47 such a passion and a fire for God. But these 200 43:51 are going- they said, "We want to preach 43:53 evangelistic meetings." They agreed to 43:55 do 5 evangelistic meetings each if 43:57 we give them a video projector next year! 44:00 - I think we're getting them the video projectors. 44:03 [laughter] - If you thought- I can't 44:05 do one. These young adults have said, 44:07 "We'll do 5!" - And they've never done 44:09 one before. And then they said to me, 44:13 Sabbath as we were walking back to the 44:14 church, the leader said, the ex-Buddhist 44:17 priest, when I was walking with the guy 44:20 who was- what do we call him? - The 44:23 hunter. - I'll tell you that story in 44:27 a minute. They said, "Pastor, we'll have 44:29 a thousand by Christmas time." - Wow. - A 44:32 thousand young people. 44:34 right now around the world on Facebook 44:36 with them; they're communicating with these 44:38 young people. A lot of stuff- they said, 44:40 "We'll do a thousand." I said, "Will you do 44:41 5 meetings each?" "We will." [laughter] 44:44 Now how many is that? 44:47 meetings! - They are sold out. You know, 44:51 there was another young man there 44:53 I met. - Wait, wait, listen- the hunter. 44:55 - Oh, yes. - The hunter. He said he grew up 45:00 in this village in northern India and 45:02 that there's tribal war all the time. 45:05 His house, where he was a kid and grew 45:08 up, was burned three times. He said there's 45:11 such anger in his heart, so he became a hunter 45:14 and he would go out and shoot animals. 45:16 Deer and antelope and whatever they 45:19 could find, he'd drag the animals in and 45:21 they said, "This guy's crazy. He's giving 45:23 us- he's killing all these animals. He's 45:26 more meat than we can eat." [laughter] 45:29 He was so angry inside. Then one day, somebody 45:31 gave him a book- an old book. He 45:33 looks at it; he says, "What is this?" He 45:35 looks at it inside and it said The Great Controversy. 45:37 Changed his life, became a Seventh-Day 45:41 Adventist. I'm walking with his sister 45:44 who's also an Adventist (who's at Spicer) and I 45:46 said, "Were you all Adventist?" "Oh, 45:49 no, no, no. Just him." "Well, what happened?" 45:51 "Well, we beat him. We ran him out 45:54 of the house." Not once, but twice. 45:59 But they're all Adventist. The whole 46:01 family is now, and he's so excited about 46:03 sharing the gospel. They said, "We want 46:05 to go into tough areas like Nepal and other 46:07 areas." They get caught doing evangelism 46:09 in some of these places, you go to 46:11 prison for 5 years. - I know, Dr. Lela, 46:15 you have a very aggressive schedule 46:17 in the States. Do you plan on partnering 46:19 with AWR for some of these extracurricular 46:22 activities? - I think so. [laughter] 46:25 Is that okay? Can we partner? Yes. 46:28 The answer is an absolute yes. I am so excited 46:31 that we're going to be working together 46:33 as a team. And again, that's Whole Person 46:35 Health, right? The physicians and dentists 46:39 and all of us coming together- the pastors 46:42 and the laity all of us working 46:44 together. Comprehensive evangelism - total 46:47 member involvement. - That's right. 46:50 - Comprehensive health evangelism. That's 46:51 what it's all about. That's what we want 46:53 to do. - And we're praying because 46:55 next year- I mean, we talked about 46:56 those young adults giving needs, but 46:57 people are going to come to India from 46:59 all over the world. By God's grace, we 47:00 want to hold 4,000 meetings across India 47:03 next year. - Wow, the young people would 47:05 really love it. [laughter] - The younger we look. 47:06 - We gotta help them. - We gotta help them. 47:09 So in Chennai, in Kolkata, even in 47:12 Pune, we've gotta have meetings and God 47:14 is going to really bless. - There's 47:16 this little country... I was just saying to 47:17 you earlier. Little cou- it's a state, actually. 47:21 Up, and it's called Sikkim. We just 47:25 got a message from Tim, and he said 47:27 he was up there right now. It's a country- 47:30 er, state that belonged to Nepal before 1975. 47:34 Because of a war and readjustment, India 47:37 got it, so it's part of India. Most of 47:40 the people are Christian. - Oh! - But it's at a 47:43 bridge- it's kind of like a great truck 47:45 road going through there- that hooks 47:47 together Bhutan and Nepal and Tibet, and 47:50 most of the people speak Nepali there, and English. 47:55 He said, "Everybody there has WhatsApp." 47:58 Everyone has WhatsApp. Everyone also has 48:02 Facebook. So we can take the cell phone 48:05 evangelism- yeah, we have almost a hundred 48:07 thousand people around the world, now, taking 48:09 Bible studies every week. So we can take that in there, teach 48:11 these people, and we're sending ? and Tim Saxon, and they're 48:17 going to be working with the young people, and we're going- 48:19 Kyle, think about that! - Yes, it's incredible. 48:21 - Yeah, we can reach Tibet! We can reach 48:22 Bhutan. We can reach Nepal. These difficult 48:25 areas just with using a cell phone! And 48:28 WhatsApp, and WeChat, and Facebook. Amazing! 48:32 - But we should mention the Center 48:35 for Digital Evangelism, because this is 48:37 a big problem, actually, all over the world, CA. 48:40 We have- AWR is broadcasting, our 48:44 church is putting out content on the internet 48:45 through various social media channels... 48:47 We have so many tools, today, through our 48:52 technology that has been given to us- 48:54 WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger- you name it! 48:57 All the different tools. But how are we connecting 48:59 with those people that are reaching out to us? 49:01 You know what I'm saying? How are we responding 49:03 to the people that may have listened to a 49:04 broadcast or seen a social media post- 49:06 thousand! Perhaps hundreds of thousands 49:08 of people all over the world. So AWR has 49:11 said, "We can't let these requests, 49:13 or these interests, go unanswered." So 49:16 by God's grace, we're starting the Center 49:17 for Digital Evangelism. AWR- Center for 49:20 Digital Evangelism, and the first target 49:23 is going to be India for next year! So 49:25 it's going to start, actually, in a few 49:28 months here in the country of the Philippines. 49:30 It'll be based at the Southern Asia Division. 49:32 We're going to have missionaries from 49:34 India. Basically, it's like a very 49:36 glorified call center, okay? So, everybody 49:39 that expresses interest on social media that 49:43 clicks on an ad that we put out that calls 49:45 as a response to a broadcast, within 49:47 24 hours, we want to respond to them 49:49 and lead them. Not only just pray for them and 49:52 tell them we're there, but lead them to Bible 49:54 studies and ultimately to a local church, 49:57 because that's Broadcast to Baptism, so we're 50:00 very excited about that. - Our time is going 50:02 so incredibly fast. I want to put up the 50:04 contact information. If you are as stirred 50:07 as those of us sitting around this table, 50:10 surely, you want to participate in this 50:12 someway- with your personal finances, 50:14 certainly with your prayers, or you may 50:16 just want to get on a plane and render 50:19 some service yourself. If you are a medical 50:22 personnel, I know you can be used. If you 50:25 have not preached and want to dip your toes 50:28 in the water, as it were, you may want 50:30 to do that. If you've been preaching for 50:31 a long time, here's a brand-new experience 50:33 for you; you may want to do it that 50:35 way. If you want to make contact to 50:36 know where you can fit in to know what 50:39 the Lord would have you to do, here's the 50:41 information that you need. 50:46 If you're interested in supporting the work 50:48 of Adventist World Radio, please visit 50:50 their website, AWR.org, to find out more. 50:55 That website, again, is AWR.org. 51:00 You may also call them at (301) 680-6304 51:10 You may also email cami@awr.org 51:15 or write them at Adventist World Radio 12501 51:19 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. |
