As for these past 33+ 00:01:23.01\00:01:26.15 years, we have joined together in lifting up 00:01:26.21\00:01:30.12 the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. What 00:01:30.19\00:01:32.42 a wonderful 33 years it has been. You 00:01:32.49\00:01:35.36 will forgive me if I'm a little giddy 00:01:35.42\00:01:37.36 this very day. I'm happy because of the 00:01:37.46\00:01:42.43 subject matter, and I'm very pleased 00:01:42.50\00:01:45.60 because of the friends that have come to share 00:01:45.67\00:01:48.10 what is going to be a wild ride, dare I say, 00:01:48.17\00:01:51.91 for the next hour as, together, we recount 00:01:51.97\00:01:55.68 some mission exploits. If you are one of those 00:01:55.74\00:01:58.18 persons-and I was always this way-who 00:01:58.25\00:02:00.12 love mission stories and who love to hear 00:02:00.15\00:02:02.28 stories of people coming to the Lord 00:02:02.35\00:02:04.25 in far-off lands and the constellation of 00:02:04.32\00:02:08.92 miracles that attends tends that kind of 00:02:08.99\00:02:11.03 first-line work, then hold onto your seat 00:02:11.09\00:02:14.26 today. Grab whatever pharmaceutical of choice 00:02:14.33\00:02:16.97 you may be Ritalin in, be it Prozac, 00:02:17.07\00:02:20.17 whatever- or may I just suggest a glass 00:02:21.40\00:02:23.57 of warm herb tea and prayer, because we've 00:02:23.64\00:02:27.44 got the AWR gang here with us. They always 00:02:27.54\00:02:31.51 come loaded with stories and loaded with mission 00:02:31.58\00:02:33.95 exploits, and you really want to tune into 00:02:34.02\00:02:36.32 this. This is kind of the ones you may 00:02:36.38\00:02:38.09 want to get a DVD of to play over and over 00:02:38.15\00:02:41.26 again. If your experience is fatiguing just a 00:02:41.32\00:02:44.83 little bit, you want to play this one; I 00:02:44.86\00:02:46.53 know. I can say that in advance because 00:02:46.59\00:02:48.26 of what you are going to hear, 'cause I've 00:02:48.30\00:02:50.87 heard a little of what you're going to hear 00:02:50.93\00:02:52.27 (and a lot of it I have not heard yet), 00:02:52.30\00:02:53.67 so I will be just as excited as you are. 00:02:53.74\00:02:55.90 We have Duane McKey, president of Adventist 00:02:55.94\00:02:58.87 World Radio. These several years- not 00:02:58.94\00:03:02.08 so many years, but it's some wonderful 00:03:02.18\00:03:03.85 changes you've made. Good to have you here, 00:03:03.88\00:03:05.21 man. - Good to be here, CA. - The Lord has 00:03:05.28\00:03:06.98 blessed you. - You better tell them why 00:03:07.08\00:03:08.42 I have a beard. - You know, I was coming 00:03:08.45\00:03:09.78 to that. We were going to go and just say 00:03:09.82\00:03:11.79 that you're also assisting Elder Wilson 00:03:11.85\00:03:14.26 with TMI, and you've kind of merged those 00:03:14.32\00:03:16.26 two in a marvelous way...but yeah. You 00:03:16.32\00:03:19.23 better tell us about the beard. - It's AWR 00:03:19.29\00:03:21.76 360 that's emerged. The beard is- the 00:03:21.86\00:03:24.27 General Conference is having meetings this 00:03:24.37\00:03:25.90 fall at Battle Creek to look at our roots, 00:03:25.97\00:03:29.10 some of the pioneer things, 00:03:29.20\00:03:30.64 so we're all trying to look like pioneers. 00:03:30.74\00:03:32.74 Anyway, Kathy said, "Shave it off as soon 00:03:33.88\00:03:36.85 as it's over." [laughter] - I'm the slightest 00:03:36.91\00:03:40.25 bit envious; not totally. 1) Because 00:03:40.32\00:03:42.98 I'm not a beard person, and second, I can't 00:03:43.05\00:03:44.45 grow a beard. I get a little here, a little 00:03:44.52\00:03:46.99 there, a little here, some here, but I 00:03:47.06\00:03:48.66 can't do that. - It's three weeks old. 00:03:48.72\00:03:50.59 - That's just three weeks' worth of work. 00:03:50.69\00:03:52.19 That's impressive. We praise the Lord. Better 00:03:52.29\00:03:55.76 introduce the rest of the gang. Your wife, 00:03:55.86\00:03:58.30 Kathy McKey, social media and outreach 00:03:58.40\00:04:00.20 coordinator for presidential, so that 00:04:00.27\00:04:02.87 means you spend a lot of time on the 00:04:02.94\00:04:04.27 computer. I've heard how you bring the 00:04:04.31\00:04:06.57 computer to bed with you sometimes. You 00:04:06.68\00:04:08.44 gotta stop a lot of people from doing that. 00:04:08.54\00:04:09.98 [laughter] Happy to have you here as 00:04:10.05\00:04:14.35 always. - Good to be here. Thank you. 00:04:14.42\00:04:16.82 - Sue Hinkle. I was going to say our 00:04:16.89\00:04:19.42 buddy from Romania, but then they would 00:04:19.49\00:04:21.36 think you're Romanian, so we can't say that. 00:04:21.42\00:04:23.32 We met, first of all, in Romania... I met 00:04:23.43\00:04:27.30 you in an airport in Japan the first time, 00:04:27.36\00:04:30.03 and Sue in Romania. Sue is the outreach 00:04:30.10\00:04:33.54 manager for AWR. Before we get too deep into 00:04:33.64\00:04:37.07 this, I want to ask you what each of these 00:04:37.14\00:04:38.67 titles mean in the real world. Last is Cami 00:04:38.77\00:04:42.41 Oetman, who is the- Oot-min? Out-min? 00:04:42.51\00:04:45.01 - Oot-min. - See, I got it right! Oot-min. 00:04:45.08\00:04:48.05 Praise the Lord. Adventist World Radio 00:04:48.15\00:04:49.48 vice president for advancement. I think 00:04:49.52\00:04:51.09 I first met you here. - Yeah. [laughter] 00:04:51.15\00:04:53.79 - The most pedestrian of places. Now, let's 00:04:53.86\00:04:55.92 go back through this and just put some legs 00:04:55.99\00:04:58.79 on these job titles. You have combined 00:04:58.86\00:05:02.43 AWR with TMI, so it's kind of all working 00:05:02.53\00:05:06.30 together. It comes under the umbrella 00:05:06.37\00:05:08.00 of the whole new title or the whole new 00:05:08.07\00:05:09.70 direction that you're taking AWR in. - AWR 00:05:09.77\00:05:11.81 360 Broadcast to Baptism. - Which I love. 00:05:11.87\00:05:14.64 - So we're doing something together 00:05:14.71\00:05:16.28 as that's part of the TMI. Mrs. White says, 00:05:16.34\00:05:19.61 "The Lord won't come until all the church 00:05:19.71\00:05:22.35 members rally together with the pastors and 00:05:22.45\00:05:24.42 the church elders," so we believe in that, 00:05:24.52\00:05:26.76 and AWR, to work together to make 00:05:26.82\00:05:29.12 something that- one of my buddies, he's a 00:05:29.19\00:05:31.36 president over in Europe. He said, "I just used 00:05:31.43\00:05:33.50 to think that AWR was up there hovering 00:05:33.56\00:05:35.80 around someplace;" but now, the Broadcast 00:05:35.86\00:05:38.40 to Baptism, we're targeting. That's 00:05:38.50\00:05:41.10 what connecting the dots... AWR: Broadcast 00:05:41.17\00:05:44.97 to Baptism, TMI, is all about. - Praise the 00:05:45.07\00:05:46.98 Lord. And you went out and you drafted 00:05:47.04\00:05:49.31 some good players. This one, you decided 00:05:49.44\00:05:52.31 to marry. She got a little head start. 00:05:52.38\00:05:54.68 - She's the best. - Well, Kathy, what 00:05:55.82\00:05:58.72 is your job and how? - The thing that I 00:05:58.75\00:06:03.02 love is outreach. When we have big 00:06:03.12\00:06:06.53 projects, the focus from the General 00:06:06.59\00:06:08.86 Conference... Like this year, we had 00:06:08.96\00:06:10.80 Japan; go and do the pre-campaign preparation 00:06:10.87\00:06:17.11 and that type of thing and work closely with 00:06:17.17\00:06:20.98 the speakers. Also, for social media, I 00:06:21.08\00:06:24.45 work closely with Elder Wilson. - Amen and 00:06:24.55\00:06:26.58 amen. The two of you guys log a lot of frequent? 00:06:26.65\00:06:29.88 - We do. We do. Just got back from India 00:06:29.95\00:06:33.02 and Philippines and Korea. - And we'll 00:06:33.12\00:06:35.59 talk about them. [laughter] And Sue, 00:06:35.62\00:06:37.86 for AWR in particular? - Yes, I'm the outreach 00:06:37.93\00:06:41.20 manager, which means I am assisting Duane 00:06:41.26\00:06:44.23 with different outreach projects. That's 00:06:44.30\00:06:46.77 international projects; I'm working together 00:06:46.87\00:06:49.74 with Kathy, as well, on some of these TMI 00:06:49.80\00:06:53.07 AWR projects. I also help coordinate the 00:06:53.14\00:06:57.85 rallies that we have in the fall. We have, 00:06:57.91\00:07:02.78 right now, I believe it's 52 volunteer 00:07:02.85\00:07:06.42 ambassadors for AWR all across North America. 00:07:06.49\00:07:11.43 I help give support to them, as well. 00:07:11.49\00:07:13.86 - Yeah. Well, we've had several of them 00:07:13.96\00:07:15.30 here. As volunteer ambassadors, these 00:07:15.36\00:07:17.57 are maybe former pastors, former 00:07:17.67\00:07:19.50 conference workers, people who have a feel 00:07:19.60\00:07:21.04 for the church-certainly some techs here-and 00:07:21.17\00:07:22.97 can go out and speak well for AWR. Well done. 00:07:23.07\00:07:25.37 Of course, Cami does EVERYTHING else. 00:07:25.44\00:07:27.41 - Well, I don't know about that. [laughter] 00:07:27.48\00:07:30.65 Wherever I'm needed, that's... I love, love 00:07:30.71\00:07:32.91 what I get to do. I get to tell the world 00:07:32.98\00:07:37.22 the miracles that God's doing through AWR. 00:07:37.32\00:07:40.02 You just can't beat that. That is so 00:07:40.09\00:07:42.86 exciting. Every day is new, every mission 00:07:42.96\00:07:45.56 that we go on, and to be able to document 00:07:45.63\00:07:47.20 these miracles and these different people 00:07:47.30\00:07:49.10 and how AWR has changed their lives- the Holy 00:07:49.16\00:07:52.77 Spirit has reached through the radio 00:07:52.83\00:07:54.30 and has changed their lives, as well as the 00:07:54.37\00:07:56.27 evangelism that we bring into the different 00:07:56.34\00:07:57.84 cities... The AWR 360 is so encompassing 00:07:57.94\00:08:02.48 that it just touches everyone in some way. 00:08:02.54\00:08:05.25 We can't wait to tell you all the 00:08:05.35\00:08:06.98 stories. - Yeah. I'm going to lose and let 00:08:07.05\00:08:08.82 you go. Let me pay you a compliment, my 00:08:08.88\00:08:10.45 dear friend, because I was among that number- 00:08:10.52\00:08:13.05 we had talked about this a little bit ago- 00:08:13.15\00:08:14.62 that kind of thought, AWR, was kind of just 00:08:14.72\00:08:16.99 out there, floating in the heavens, but 00:08:17.06\00:08:20.00 you have brought an energy to it, and can 00:08:20.10\00:08:22.30 I say an earthiness? You kind of put it on 00:08:22.40\00:08:24.43 the ground-boots on the ground kind of 00:08:24.50\00:08:25.83 thing where it is much more eminent, 00:08:25.87\00:08:28.44 much closer, much more part of the overall 00:08:28.54\00:08:30.84 thrust of the church. You've got some good 00:08:30.91\00:08:33.71 people on the team, but I feel a change 00:08:33.78\00:08:35.34 in the energy at AWR. - Amen. It is so 00:08:35.44\00:08:39.55 exciting to see what is happening. As we 00:08:39.61\00:08:41.98 go around the world and work with projects, 00:08:42.02\00:08:43.62 work with conferences, unions, churches, 00:08:43.72\00:08:45.65 church members... The stories start happening 00:08:45.72\00:08:47.96 and people get excited and say, "We can do 00:08:48.02\00:08:50.09 this by God's grace." The work can be 00:08:50.16\00:08:52.29 finished. Jesus will come. - Comes a time, 00:08:52.36\00:08:54.36 comes a man, so the Lord has put the right 00:08:54.43\00:08:55.86 person in the right place at the right 00:08:55.93\00:08:57.70 time. - Praise God. - I salute you for 00:08:57.77\00:08:59.40 that. Of course, marrying that with 00:08:59.47\00:09:00.94 TMI, you carrying both of those portfolios, 00:09:01.00\00:09:02.97 really is a match made in heaven (I believe). 00:09:03.07\00:09:05.54 - Thank you, CA. - So let us now, because I've 00:09:05.61\00:09:08.61 heard some of the stuff- I don't know 00:09:08.68\00:09:10.01 who's going to take it. Let's launch out, 00:09:10.05\00:09:11.38 because you're doing some great stuff and 00:09:11.41\00:09:12.85 the Lord is blessing in a marvelous way. 00:09:12.95\00:09:15.18 - Yes. We wanted to show you, actually, how 00:09:15.25\00:09:18.69 the founders, the ones who were there at 00:09:18.75\00:09:21.16 the beginning, the Steeles, and how 00:09:21.26\00:09:25.93 they see AWR 360 now today in comparison to 00:09:25.99\00:09:29.06 when it began, but 45 years ago... - 1971. 00:09:29.13\00:09:34.44 - So, yeah. We have a video to share with you 00:09:34.50\00:09:37.61 first to get things started to show you 00:09:37.67\00:09:39.81 exactly where the ministry was and is 00:09:39.87\00:09:43.65 going and how God has led the whole way. 00:09:43.75\00:09:45.88 - Actually, there are ambassadors now for us 00:09:45.98\00:09:48.48 in New Mexico. They're working with us; 00:09:48.58\00:09:50.39 retired, but ambassadors. We're excited about 00:09:50.49\00:09:53.32 what's happening. - All right. Let's take a 00:09:53.39\00:09:54.72 look. - Hi! I'm Cami Oetman, and this is 00:09:54.76\00:09:58.53 your AWR 360 Moment. Adventist World 00:09:58.63\00:10:04.87 Radio has been carrying the voice of hope to 00:10:04.93\00:10:07.70 the unreached people groups of the world in 00:10:07.77\00:10:09.90 their own languages. AWR started over 45 00:10:09.97\00:10:15.38 years ago in 1971, and the vision today is 00:10:15.48\00:10:19.98 just as strong as it was back then. Meet 00:10:20.05\00:10:24.79 the Steeles, the first employees of Adventist 00:10:24.89\00:10:27.79 World Radio. - So Allen and Andrea, 00:10:27.89\00:10:31.36 tell me a little bit about your background. 00:10:31.43\00:10:33.83 How did you first become interested in 00:10:33.93\00:10:36.70 radio? - Well, for me, I was out of university. 00:10:36.77\00:10:40.70 I was part of the radio station on campus, and 00:10:40.80\00:10:44.61 we had a very special guest come to the 00:10:44.67\00:10:47.28 campus and talk to us. That was H.M.S. Richards, 00:10:47.34\00:10:50.58 the real pioneer of radio for the Adventist 00:10:50.65\00:10:54.12 church. He gave us a vision that really 00:10:54.18\00:10:58.82 caught with me. That was, we can reach 00:10:58.89\00:11:01.26 the whole world with radio, and he said, 00:11:01.36\00:11:05.26 "You have got to do it." I took it personally. 00:11:05.36\00:11:08.56 Ever after that, that was my goal-to get 00:11:08.63\00:11:12.10 into that type of ministry for the Lord. 00:11:12.17\00:11:15.04 - The General Conference decided to start 00:11:15.10\00:11:17.61 this radio project, and you were chosen 00:11:17.67\00:11:20.08 to be the first employees. Tell me 00:11:20.11\00:11:23.85 a little bit about that. - That was a very 00:11:23.91\00:11:27.32 exciting time, of course. This was the 00:11:27.35\00:11:32.52 vision that I had had- that we would, somehow, 00:11:32.55\00:11:35.62 be able to spread God's message around 00:11:35.69\00:11:38.29 the world. I offered. I said, "? 00:11:38.39\00:11:43.33 Send me! I'll go," and the first assignment 00:11:43.40\00:11:48.00 was in Lisbon, Portugal. As we were planning 00:11:48.10\00:11:52.14 to go, they said, "Now, we need to 00:11:52.24\00:11:53.88 warn you that we only have enough 00:11:53.98\00:11:56.44 money to keep you there for a year. 00:11:56.54\00:11:58.91 Do you mind going just for a year?" 00:11:58.98\00:12:00.88 We said, "Sure, we'll do that." Well, it 00:12:00.98\00:12:03.92 turned out that the next year, while we 00:12:03.99\00:12:06.82 were there, they said, "Can you stay another 00:12:06.89\00:12:08.59 year?" We said, "Okay, we'll stay another 00:12:08.66\00:12:10.73 year." And this continued on for 5 years. - I 00:12:10.79\00:12:14.36 think that the church leaders were delighted- 00:12:14.46\00:12:17.90 maybe surprised a little bit-when articles 00:12:17.97\00:12:21.00 began to come about the results that we 00:12:21.04\00:12:23.97 were getting from those broadcasts. We had 00:12:24.07\00:12:27.64 20 languages 12 hours a week was all, and 00:12:27.74\00:12:31.25 they began to make donations for it. 00:12:31.31\00:12:33.52 In fact, after one article, enough money 00:12:33.62\00:12:36.32 came in for the next year. I think that's 00:12:36.38\00:12:40.26 when the church leader said, "Okay. This is 00:12:40.36\00:12:42.69 important. The church members want it. Let's 00:12:42.79\00:12:44.79 do it." - As you're aware, Adventist 00:12:44.86\00:12:47.26 World Radio is expanding the ministry, and we're 00:12:47.30\00:12:50.90 calling it AWR 360' from Broadcast to 00:12:50.97\00:12:55.10 Baptism. We're still doing what we've done 00:12:55.20\00:12:58.67 in the past and increasing, but now, 00:12:58.74\00:13:01.41 we've added this dimension, trying to 00:13:01.48\00:13:03.95 reach out to the listeners that are 00:13:04.05\00:13:07.02 listening to the broadcast, connecting 00:13:07.08\00:13:09.12 with them, and getting them into a local 00:13:09.22\00:13:12.75 church. What do you think about this 00:13:12.82\00:13:15.49 expansion of the ministry of AWR? 00:13:15.59\00:13:19.96 - This new vision of AWR 360 has just 00:13:20.03\00:13:23.43 totally fulfilled our dream of what might 00:13:23.50\00:13:27.34 happen with this special ministry. It's a 00:13:27.40\00:13:30.21 completion of what I call the circle of love. 00:13:30.31\00:13:33.78 You give the message, then you follow through, 00:13:33.88\00:13:38.15 then you bring people to a family of God 00:13:38.21\00:13:43.08 that can nurture them and help them. It seems 00:13:43.18\00:13:46.92 to me that it's just the natural way that 00:13:46.99\00:13:49.22 things should have developed and perhaps 00:13:49.29\00:13:51.69 should have been done long ago if it were 00:13:51.79\00:13:53.90 possible. So, it completes. It's an 00:13:53.96\00:13:58.80 exciting aspect that completes the circle 00:13:58.87\00:14:01.97 of not only giving the message, but then 00:14:02.04\00:14:05.27 bringing the people to God and helping 00:14:05.34\00:14:08.88 them to be part of the family of God. 00:14:08.94\00:14:12.91 - I'm sure that, all over the world where 00:14:13.01\00:14:16.25 we have radio studios, when people write to 00:14:16.32\00:14:19.95 Adventist World Radio, those messages are 00:14:20.02\00:14:22.39 always sent to the country of origin 00:14:22.46\00:14:24.59 as well as being answered by AWR, then 00:14:24.66\00:14:29.40 they're sent a Bible study card. So, they're 00:14:29.46\00:14:32.80 able to sign up for Bible studies, then 00:14:32.87\00:14:34.74 they work with a Bible study office 00:14:34.80\00:14:37.27 right in their own country. This 00:14:37.34\00:14:39.27 follow-through of having people actually 00:14:39.37\00:14:42.34 go and do evangelistic meetings, now in the 00:14:42.41\00:14:45.21 different countries, is the connection. It's 00:14:45.28\00:14:47.35 a natural thing for it to be happening, 00:14:47.42\00:14:49.85 and it's wonderful that it can be happening 00:14:49.92\00:14:52.09 in so many parts of the world, and that 00:14:52.15\00:14:54.22 people in any country, such as the US or any 00:14:54.29\00:14:57.96 place, who are excited about Adventist 00:14:58.03\00:15:00.93 World Radio, who perhaps made contributions 00:15:01.00\00:15:03.40 to help it keep running-that's so 00:15:03.47\00:15:05.03 important-but who might like to be involved 00:15:05.13\00:15:07.07 can actually be involved in some of these things, 00:15:07.14\00:15:09.84 so they can actually meet some of the 00:15:09.90\00:15:11.77 listeners. That's one of the most beautiful 00:15:11.84\00:15:13.58 things is to meet someone who has had 00:15:13.68\00:15:17.41 their life turned around because of what 00:15:17.48\00:15:19.71 they heard on the radio. - This new 00:15:19.78\00:15:22.62 vision of AWR 360 has just totally fulfilled 00:15:22.68\00:15:26.92 our dream of what might happen with this 00:15:26.99\00:15:30.19 special ministry. - Isn't it amazing 00:15:30.26\00:15:33.13 that 40 years later, the Steeles' original 00:15:33.19\00:15:35.90 vision of Broadcast to Baptism is being 00:15:35.96\00:15:39.00 carried out by AWR 360 today and countless 00:15:39.07\00:15:42.70 lives are being changed thanks to AWR. But 00:15:42.77\00:15:46.27 there are many who still need to hear 00:15:46.34\00:15:48.24 about our loving Savior. Won't you 00:15:48.34\00:15:50.71 join us in the final work of the Lord? 00:15:50.75\00:15:53.15 This has been your AWR 360 Moment. 00:15:53.21\00:15:57.25 - That is so nice to get some of the history. 00:16:07.50\00:16:09.20 Let me just tap the pause button 00:16:09.26\00:16:10.70 and ask you a quick question. Two things: 00:16:10.77\00:16:12.33 the idea Broadcast to Baptism, which seems 00:16:12.40\00:16:16.07 like a natural evolution to me- was that 00:16:16.14\00:16:18.81 something that came in a committee room? 00:16:18.87\00:16:20.74 Something that the Lord sort of just put 00:16:20.81\00:16:22.14 on your soul-kind of came into your 00:16:22.18\00:16:24.35 heart? And secondly, give us just a touch... 00:16:24.41\00:16:27.85 Anyone can pick this up. Shortwave radio... 00:16:27.88\00:16:31.65 What you do is not like regular AM/FM radio. 00:16:31.75\00:16:34.49 Talk to me a little bit about the broadcasting 00:16:34.59\00:16:36.22 and how it differs, because there are 00:16:36.29\00:16:37.66 some who just don't know. - Okay, good. When 00:16:37.73\00:16:40.60 they first asked me to do this, right after 00:16:40.66\00:16:43.47 that, we were in Romania. I accepted 00:16:43.57\00:16:45.17 the challenge from the General Conference 00:16:45.23\00:16:47.54 to lead out in AWR. We were thinking, 00:16:47.60\00:16:50.01 "Well, what can we do to make this-" for me, 00:16:50.07\00:16:53.07 personally, I kept thinking, "Just 00:16:53.14\00:16:54.64 broadcast; broadcast. Where does it go? 00:16:54.71\00:16:56.71 Who's listening? How do you know?" 00:16:56.78\00:16:58.21 So, the Lord just gave it to us, I 00:16:58.28\00:17:00.25 guess. Broadcast to Baptism; AWR 360... 00:17:00.32\00:17:03.12 It just kind of came and said, "Wow. That's 00:17:03.18\00:17:05.25 what God wants us to do." - Praise the Lord. 00:17:05.32\00:17:08.49 - Same thing. When it's different folk, it's maybe 00:17:08.56\00:17:09.89 completing the circle, making it more- well, 00:17:09.99\00:17:12.86 I think fulfilling the gospel commission, 00:17:12.89\00:17:14.73 which is our mission. - Now, what you do differs from 00:17:14.80\00:17:18.43 the regular radio station we just 00:17:18.53\00:17:20.10 turned on during the day. Your broadcasts 00:17:20.17\00:17:22.50 are somewhat different. - Right. We have the 00:17:22.57\00:17:24.51 shortwave from Guam. What is it- about a 00:17:24.57\00:17:27.61 third of the world we connect with? 00:17:27.71\00:17:29.34 And we have a lot of areas around the world 00:17:29.41\00:17:31.78 which are very difficult to reach with AM/FM. 00:17:31.85\00:17:33.72 We also have AM, FM... We have internet, we 00:17:33.82\00:17:37.09 have-I think Cami came up with the idea 00:17:37.19\00:17:39.52 where it's broadcasting on all media platforms. 00:17:39.62\00:17:43.83 So, that's what we're looking at. We'll 00:17:43.93\00:17:45.39 talk about some of those platforms as we move 00:17:45.46\00:17:47.06 on today: cell phone evangelism, internet 00:17:47.13\00:17:49.56 evangelism, what we can do to reach the 00:17:49.66\00:17:52.53 modern age with comprehensive 00:17:52.60\00:17:55.60 health evangelism. A lot of different 00:17:55.67\00:17:57.24 things that we can put together. We feel that 00:17:57.31\00:18:00.38 we're not just broadcasting-we do 00:18:00.48\00:18:02.21 that-but also, we want to complete the circle 00:18:02.24\00:18:05.21 and do other things, as well, and reach as 00:18:05.31\00:18:07.22 many people as possible for Jesus. 00:18:07.25\00:18:09.08 - But your broadcast day, though, is broken 00:18:10.32\00:18:12.79 up into many languages. So, if you're covering 00:18:12.85\00:18:14.69 a number of countries, everyone at sometime 00:18:14.76\00:18:16.39 will hear something that they can relate 00:18:16.46\00:18:18.16 to in their own language. - Yes. We have 100 00:18:18.23\00:18:19.96 languages. Actually, the Adventist church 00:18:20.03\00:18:23.43 has, I think... Kathy, do you remember 00:18:23.53\00:18:27.30 numbers? Almost 1,000. - 900 and some languages. 00:18:27.34\00:18:30.97 - 970 languages we operate in, but we 00:18:31.04\00:18:33.07 only preach in about 90-100 languages and 00:18:33.14\00:18:36.01 AWR's only about 100 languages, so a new 00:18:36.04\00:18:39.71 challenge they were looking at is, "Hey! 00:18:39.78\00:18:41.55 Let's broadcast in 1,000 languages around 00:18:41.62\00:18:44.09 the world!" That's a whole new concept, 00:18:44.15\00:18:47.12 how we can start broadcasting in more 00:18:47.19\00:18:49.39 languages, 'cause why should a person who 00:18:49.42\00:18:51.03 speaks-his mother tongue is Ciluba- 00:18:51.09\00:18:55.26 sit in a church and have to listen to 00:18:55.30\00:18:57.00 French? - Yeah. - So, let's get into the 00:18:57.03\00:18:59.30 Ciluba, as well. - Praise the Lord. 00:18:59.37\00:19:01.10 Well done. Cami, I guess back to you. 00:19:01.14\00:19:03.91 - What we've really been excited about is 00:19:03.97\00:19:07.18 the donors' feedback about the new perspective 00:19:07.24\00:19:11.45 of AWR 360. We get a lot of feedback 00:19:11.51\00:19:13.88 saying, "Oh, we just love the fact that 00:19:13.95\00:19:16.22 you're not only in the air, but your 00:19:16.28\00:19:18.25 boots are on the ground." that whole concept. 00:19:18.32\00:19:19.72 So, I think it's really catching. We 00:19:19.82\00:19:26.03 actually applied this combination in Japan. 00:19:26.09\00:19:29.00 We have a wonderful clip we wanted to show 00:19:29.03\00:19:32.63 you regarding President Obara and his story 00:19:32.70\00:19:36.64 and how he was used by the Lord in how AWR 00:19:36.74\00:19:42.18 played a role. - Before we show that, Sue, 00:19:42.28\00:19:45.38 tell us; you asked him. We took the 00:19:45.45\00:19:47.22 Japanese to the Philippines. They don't 00:19:47.28\00:19:51.29 do evangelism there, and they haven't ever 00:19:51.35\00:19:53.22 done it. We took a bunch of them. How 00:19:53.29\00:19:55.62 many? 50? - 48. - 48 of them to the Philippines 00:19:55.66\00:19:58.86 to preach their first evangelistic meetings 00:19:58.93\00:20:00.46 a year ago, so you were talking to Pastor 00:20:00.53\00:20:02.96 Obara. - I was. This is a conference 00:20:03.00\00:20:04.77 president, so I ask him, I said, "Have 00:20:04.80\00:20:08.84 you ever preached an evangelistic series 00:20:08.90\00:20:10.51 before?" He said, "No; never." - So he's 00:20:10.57\00:20:14.74 in Tokyo. He's the conference president 00:20:14.78\00:20:16.21 of the largest conference in Japan. - That's right. 00:20:16.28\00:20:18.61 He never preached a campaign or evangelistic 00:20:18.68\00:20:21.02 series, and he said in his entire life, 00:20:21.08\00:20:23.42 he had only attended one evangelistic 00:20:23.52\00:20:26.32 meeting when he was younger. - Wow. - He 00:20:26.39\00:20:28.49 was about 12 when he did that. - Yes! He said, 00:20:28.56\00:20:33.40 "We just don't do evangelism like that 00:20:33.50\00:20:35.43 here in Japan." I said, "Well, so what 00:20:35.50\00:20:39.63 do you do?" He said, "Well, we do weekend 00:20:39.73\00:20:41.34 events. We have health programs, 00:20:41.44\00:20:45.11 family programs..." I said, "Well, so you 00:20:45.17\00:20:48.48 don't do anything like, doctrinal?" 00:20:48.54\00:20:50.71 He said, "No." I said, "How is that 00:20:50.81\00:20:52.45 working out for you?" He said, "It isn't." 00:20:52.48\00:20:55.32 And actually, they had a negative loss in 00:20:55.35\00:20:59.25 membership that year. - Now, is this a 00:20:59.32\00:21:01.22 government prohibition or just a cultural 00:21:01.29\00:21:03.43 thin of churches- sort of just developed 00:21:03.49\00:21:05.26 along those lines and we just don't do it? 00:21:05.33\00:21:07.16 Is the government saying, "You cannot," 00:21:07.23\00:21:08.70 or... - No, no, the government will let 00:21:08.76\00:21:10.50 you do anything we want to. That's not 00:21:10.53\00:21:12.23 a problem there; they're just- the latest field, 00:21:12.30\00:21:15.10 "We're going to try other ways and other 00:21:15.17\00:21:16.50 means," but, like we said, it's not working. 00:21:16.54\00:21:18.84 The church is dying. - Last time you were 00:21:18.91\00:21:22.24 here-I'm sorry, Cami- the last time you were 00:21:22.28\00:21:23.61 here, you were pre-this, so now we're post-this? 00:21:23.65\00:21:26.08 - Yes. - Okay. Very good. Yeah, 'cause 00:21:26.15\00:21:28.18 we didn't know what to expect. - Yeah. 00:21:28.25\00:21:30.05 We went and we preached, and Pastor 00:21:30.12\00:21:32.25 Obara preached his second series. His 00:21:32.32\00:21:34.82 first series in Mindoro, his second series in 00:21:34.92\00:21:36.73 Tokyo. - All right! - And fantastic results. 00:21:36.79\00:21:40.36 Yeah. Duane, actually, he preached in Okinawa. 00:21:40.46\00:21:44.70 Why don't you tell us a little bit about 00:21:44.77\00:21:47.50 Steven? - Steven? Okay, good. - I 00:21:47.54\00:21:50.51 think we have a picture of him. - Do we have 00:21:50.54\00:21:51.91 a picture of Steven? - Mhm. - Yeah. Steven 00:21:51.97\00:21:54.41 was a marine, and he was in the Afghan 00:21:54.51\00:21:56.44 war and was a sharpshooter. After 00:21:56.51\00:22:00.22 a while, that kind of got to him. It just 00:22:00.32\00:22:03.82 really bothered him, so he started drinking. 00:22:03.89\00:22:06.62 He started drinking so much that the 00:22:06.69\00:22:10.69 marines kicked him out. - Oh, wow. - I mean, 00:22:10.76\00:22:12.89 you gotta drink a lot. He just wanted to 00:22:12.96\00:22:14.40 bury this stuff. The emotional trauma is 00:22:14.43\00:22:17.33 going on, in his heart, so he ends up 00:22:17.40\00:22:19.63 in Okinawa and he finds this young 00:22:19.73\00:22:22.64 Japanese lady. They get married, 00:22:22.70\00:22:25.57 have a couple kids, but he has this 00:22:25.64\00:22:28.38 struggle. He drinks and drinks, and he's 00:22:28.44\00:22:30.18 working on the base (but he's not a 00:22:30.25\00:22:32.48 marine anymore). One day, he just turns 00:22:32.58\00:22:35.92 on the TV and he sees a little video clip. 00:22:35.98\00:22:42.19 ? radio. It's a partner with us; 00:22:42.26\00:22:44.69 it's one of our partners that does 00:22:44.73\00:22:46.46 YouTube evangelism. He listens to this, 00:22:46.53\00:22:49.40 and he gets so excited. He listens again 00:22:49.46\00:22:53.40 and again. So, my friend who's doing 00:22:53.50\00:22:56.71 the YouTube evangelism in Dallas, Texas- 00:22:56.77\00:23:01.48 Mark Fox-and Mark calls me up. He says, 00:23:01.54\00:23:04.95 "You won't believe this. This young man 00:23:05.01\00:23:07.25 in Okinawa, an ex-marine, wants 00:23:07.32\00:23:10.32 to become a Seventh-Day Adventist. He's been 00:23:10.39\00:23:12.69 listening to our partnership with him 00:23:12.75\00:23:15.66 on YouTube evangelism there in Okinawa. 00:23:15.72\00:23:17.93 He said, "Mark, you won't believe this. 00:23:17.99\00:23:19.46 I'm going there in two weeks to have 00:23:19.53\00:23:20.86 a series of meetings." [laughter] - And it 00:23:20.90\00:23:22.60 turned out to be at the church that he'd 00:23:22.66\00:23:24.23 been attending! - Oh, wow! - Isn't that 00:23:24.30\00:23:26.03 awesome? - Yeah. - Here, this young man- 00:23:26.07\00:23:28.24 he volunteered and he wasn't even 00:23:28.27\00:23:30.04 baptized yet, volunteering to help 00:23:30.11\00:23:31.44 out around the church. I mean, his whole 00:23:31.47\00:23:32.81 life is changed. So Duane got to know 00:23:32.84\00:23:35.21 him, and Kathy. - Yeah. We studied 00:23:35.31\00:23:36.95 with him. Summer, he came to the 00:23:37.01\00:23:38.48 meetings and he was baptized at the 00:23:38.51\00:23:39.85 end of the meeting. - That's how you 00:23:39.88\00:23:41.22 got such a big smile on your face. Praise 00:23:41.25\00:23:43.59 the Lord; what a great story. So, he is 00:23:43.65\00:23:46.49 baptized in the church. - Uh-huh. 00:23:46.55\00:23:48.29 Is his family with him? Are they... 00:23:48.36\00:23:49.69 - His wife is studying. I had a call that came 00:23:49.72\00:23:52.29 forward, and Kathy... - Well, his wife 00:23:52.39\00:23:56.00 seemed very serious, so I went up and 00:23:56.06\00:23:59.10 put my arm around her, and she started 00:23:59.17\00:24:00.97 to cry. So, we sat down together and 00:24:01.00\00:24:04.44 I said, "Would you be interested in 00:24:04.51\00:24:07.71 getting baptized?" She said, "I'm not 00:24:07.78\00:24:11.01 ready yet." But she came to Steven's 00:24:11.11\00:24:15.38 baptism and was so supportive of him. 00:24:15.48\00:24:21.06 - Those tears are indicative of something. 00:24:21.12\00:24:24.36 Bring that picture up one more time, guys, 00:24:24.43\00:24:25.96 if you will. Yeah, see, I don't know who's 00:24:26.03\00:24:29.30 smiling more. [laughter] He's happy and you're 00:24:29.40\00:24:33.97 pretty happy, too. - Very happy. - Praise 00:24:34.04\00:24:36.04 the Lord. - He is the pastor's right 00:24:36.10\00:24:38.14 arm. He does everything in the church. He's 00:24:38.21\00:24:40.44 so involved. He's an ex-marine. He says, 00:24:40.48\00:24:44.55 "You're supposed to be here 15 minutes 00:24:44.61\00:24:46.65 before, not on time." [laughter] - Okay. 00:24:46.72\00:24:49.28 He's going to stay active. He's a keeper. Praise 00:24:49.38\00:24:52.19 the Lord. Well done. That's a great 00:24:52.25\00:24:54.16 story. - Yes. So, should we move onto 00:24:54.19\00:24:56.69 Zambia? - Sure. - We have so much to share. 00:24:56.76\00:24:58.89 - Oh, my. - So, after the wonderful results 00:24:58.99\00:25:02.43 in Japan-and they're on fire now-next, 00:25:02.53\00:25:05.40 we went to Zambia where we had the 00:25:05.43\00:25:09.80 radio go beforehand, of course-the messages. 00:25:09.90\00:25:12.54 I'm going to share the piece that I 00:25:12.61\00:25:14.84 was very much involved in. We, through our 00:25:14.91\00:25:18.95 AWR local producer there, he had arranged, 00:25:19.05\00:25:24.09 by God's grace, for us, our media team, 00:25:24.15\00:25:27.52 to get into the highest maximum 00:25:27.59\00:25:30.36 security prison there in all of Zambia. I'll 00:25:30.43\00:25:36.63 get to how this works out, because as we 00:25:36.73\00:25:38.83 arrive, immediately, our equipment's 00:25:38.93\00:25:41.00 taken away and we're put in a room. The people that were 00:25:41.14\00:25:43.74 working, the guards that were on staff that day could 00:25:43.81\00:25:46.64 not believe that any media would ever be 00:25:46.71\00:25:48.64 allowed-not a president, not a dignitary... 00:25:48.71\00:25:52.11 Oh, I mean- excuse me. Only a president or 00:25:52.18\00:25:54.08 a dignitary can ever get in; not any other 00:25:54.15\00:25:55.95 media of any kind. Should we show the 00:25:56.02\00:25:58.92 video, actually? Let's show the video first, 00:25:58.99\00:26:01.59 because I think that this explains a lot, 00:26:01.66\00:26:03.69 then I'll add in to meet. - I'm a little nervous about 00:26:03.73\00:26:05.49 this. This is a male prison, and Cami is 00:26:05.59\00:26:10.30 going in. - I'm not worried at all. I 00:26:10.37\00:26:15.10 request the best bodyguards there 00:26:15.17\00:26:17.21 are. Not worried; no. If we could play 00:26:17.27\00:26:22.81 the Zambia prison video, that would be great. 00:26:22.88\00:26:25.71 Hi, I'm Cami Oetman, and we just spent 00:26:26.61\00:26:29.22 the day in prison. This is your AWR 360 Moment. 00:26:29.28\00:26:32.99 As the thief hung on the cross, he 00:26:41.10\00:26:42.50 must have thought about his life, the 00:26:42.60\00:26:44.70 choices he had made. He knew that his 00:26:44.77\00:26:47.07 crimes were deserving of this punishment, 00:26:47.14\00:26:49.20 yet the man next to him was so peaceful 00:26:49.27\00:26:52.04 and kind. He even prayed for his 00:26:52.11\00:26:54.54 persecutors. The thief was convinced this 00:26:54.64\00:26:57.61 man was the Son of God. In his last act, 00:26:57.68\00:27:00.98 he only asked to be remembered. Jesus 00:27:01.05\00:27:03.85 assured the thief that he would be 00:27:03.95\00:27:05.79 redeemed. From that moment on, he died 00:27:05.85\00:27:08.62 with the hope of salvation. Today, 00:27:08.72\00:27:10.99 there are many in prison awaiting 00:27:11.09\00:27:12.79 their final punishment of death, yet like 00:27:12.83\00:27:15.26 the thief on the cross, hope still remains. 00:27:15.36\00:27:17.97 Miraculously, Adventist World Radio just 00:27:18.03\00:27:21.47 visited Zambia's highest maximum 00:27:21.54\00:27:24.41 security prison. This is unprecedented. 00:27:24.47\00:27:27.64 No other media has ever been allowed 00:27:27.74\00:27:29.98 besides presidents and dignitaries. 00:27:30.08\00:27:32.51 However, God made a way. Out of 250 00:27:32.61\00:27:36.92 death row prisoners, more than 50 have 00:27:36.99\00:27:39.75 been baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist 00:27:39.82\00:27:41.42 church. Over 800 inmates have become 00:27:41.49\00:27:44.63 Adventists largely due to hearing our gospel 00:27:44.69\00:27:47.63 radio messages. As our video team entered 00:27:47.70\00:27:50.87 their worship service, we were overwhelmed 00:27:50.93\00:27:52.80 with joy. Only a portion of the inmates 00:27:52.87\00:27:55.64 were attending that day, and their happy, 00:27:55.70\00:27:57.97 smiling faces said it all. They have the hope 00:27:58.04\00:28:01.64 of Jesus. This has been your AWR 360 Moment. 00:28:01.74\00:28:06.92 Wow. A number of things come to my 00:28:15.26\00:28:17.03 mind. Forgive me, 'cause I know you 00:28:17.09\00:28:18.63 1) the 360 moments are 00:28:18.69\00:28:22.66 a little feature now that you've moved 00:28:22.76\00:28:24.77 into. - Yep. We do those on Thursday 00:28:24.83\00:28:26.87 nights - short ones. - Yeah. On all of 00:28:26.90\00:28:29.07 our social media- YouTube, Facebook, 00:28:29.10\00:28:30.81 all of it-it's Thursdays. You can tune into 00:28:30.91\00:28:33.54 a new story, a new miracle every week. 00:28:33.58\00:28:35.38 - Now, you baptized a fairly significant 00:28:35.44\00:28:38.48 number of people who are on death row, 00:28:38.58\00:28:39.91 which means they'll never come out. 00:28:39.95\00:28:41.28 - That's right. - They're going to 00:28:41.32\00:28:42.65 die in prison, but they've given their 00:28:42.68\00:28:44.02 hearts to the Lord. - That's right. - 870 00:28:44.05\00:28:45.89 Adventists in prison now. But...they weren't 00:28:45.95\00:28:49.89 Adventists when they went in. - That's 00:28:49.96\00:28:51.49 right. [laughter] Let's make that 00:28:51.56\00:28:52.96 point. What was amazing is, that 00:28:52.99\00:28:55.86 very day, that day, we knew that there 00:28:55.93\00:28:59.63 was 800 in that prison. However, 00:28:59.70\00:29:01.37 we found out that the AWR local team 00:29:01.44\00:29:04.11 was coming there and they were 00:29:04.21\00:29:05.61 baptizing 70 more the next day, because 00:29:05.64\00:29:07.64 they are listening to the gospel on the 00:29:07.71\00:29:09.78 radio. They are just hungry for the Word 00:29:09.84\00:29:11.98 of God. We're thinking, "How is it that we 00:29:12.01\00:29:16.55 were allowed access?" What happened was 00:29:16.62\00:29:19.09 is that the general commissioner of 00:29:19.15\00:29:22.29 Zambia, he sees a change in his prison. 00:29:22.36\00:29:25.89 Can you imagine why? Out of 2,400 prisoners, 00:29:25.99\00:29:29.66 over 870 of them are now Seventh-Day 00:29:29.76\00:29:34.04 Adventists, loving Jesus, wanting 00:29:34.10\00:29:36.20 eternal life... They are calm, cool, 00:29:36.27\00:29:38.97 collected, peaceful men. What a change. 00:29:39.07\00:29:42.34 That's- what? A third of the prison? - A 00:29:42.41\00:29:44.55 third of your prison population is under 00:29:44.61\00:29:46.48 new leadership; of course there's impact 00:29:46.55\00:29:48.75 on the prison. - That's right! We're very 00:29:48.82\00:29:51.15 welcomed there. We want to actually give 00:29:51.22\00:29:55.02 more radios out. - So they're allowed, Cami, 00:29:55.12\00:29:57.83 to have radios in prison? - Yes. - They're 00:29:57.89\00:29:59.86 allowed; okay. Praise the Lord. - Because 00:29:59.93\00:30:01.33 of us. - Uh-huh. Nice. - There's a 00:30:01.36\00:30:03.40 little lady. What's her name? She's a 00:30:03.47\00:30:05.63 precious little lady. She goes there every 00:30:05.73\00:30:07.97 week, takes radios and gives them to prisoners... 00:30:08.04\00:30:09.90 - They call her "Grandma." She gives them the 00:30:10.01\00:30:13.64 hugs and the love. - Praise God. - does 00:30:13.74\00:30:17.11 Bible studies with them. It's wonderful. 00:30:17.18\00:30:20.08 - So, I imagine any time that you knock 00:30:20.15\00:30:21.48 on a door, they're ready to open and 00:30:21.58\00:30:22.92 let you come back in. - Yes! - Praise the 00:30:22.95\00:30:24.69 Lord. - It was so exciting. Lots of 00:30:24.72\00:30:26.22 exciting things happened in Zambia. I want to 00:30:26.29\00:30:28.49 share another story with you. I call it 00:30:28.52\00:30:30.29 the "Small Radio Story." There was this young- 00:30:30.36\00:30:33.09 we can show the pictures throughout, 00:30:33.16\00:30:35.00 if you'd like. There was this young woman 00:30:35.06\00:30:37.20 who fell in love with a man. She herself 00:30:37.30\00:30:39.23 was a Seventh-Day Adventist and he was 00:30:39.27\00:30:40.74 not. He had said to her that she could 00:30:40.77\00:30:43.47 keep her religion; no problem. He'd 00:30:43.54\00:30:45.01 keep his and it'd be no issue. So what they 00:30:45.11\00:30:48.88 did is they got married, and it was 00:30:48.94\00:30:50.81 a short time later that he said, "No, 00:30:50.88\00:30:55.02 you must come with me to my church. You 00:30:55.08\00:30:57.02 can't go to your church anymore." 00:30:57.09\00:30:58.42 This created quite a strain and a stress 00:30:58.45\00:31:00.02 on the marriage. It then escalated into 00:31:00.06\00:31:02.29 abuse and...not a good scene. One night, 00:31:03.16\00:31:07.00 this young woman was laying in her bed. 00:31:07.06\00:31:09.53 She had a dream. This dream was of a radio- 00:31:09.56\00:31:14.17 a small radio. She woke up out of the 00:31:14.24\00:31:16.64 dream and she was like, "What was that 00:31:16.71\00:31:18.04 about?" She fell back asleep. Again, this 00:31:18.07\00:31:21.01 dream of a small radio. She woke up and she 00:31:21.04\00:31:24.08 realized, "This must mean something. I 00:31:24.15\00:31:26.68 don't know what it is!" So she got up 00:31:26.75\00:31:28.08 to do her daily chores. She's in the 00:31:28.12\00:31:29.65 kitchen. The next thing she sees is her husband 00:31:29.68\00:31:32.45 had left earlier that morning. The next 00:31:32.52\00:31:36.06 thing is he walks through the door 00:31:36.16\00:31:37.49 with a bag in his hand. He comes over to the 00:31:37.53\00:31:40.50 kitchen table and he sets it down. He's 00:31:40.56\00:31:42.36 like, "I'm so excited! I had this wonderful 00:31:42.43\00:31:44.27 idea. I went out and I bought us... Ta-dah!" 00:31:44.33\00:31:47.90 What do you think it was? - A radio. - You 00:31:47.97\00:31:49.74 bet it was. A small radio! So get this- 00:31:49.80\00:31:53.14 this is the climax of the story. - You're 00:31:53.17\00:31:56.24 not going to believe this. This is incredible 00:31:56.34\00:31:57.91 what God has done here. - Our God is 00:31:58.01\00:32:00.18 amazing. Isn't He amazing? - He is. 00:32:00.28\00:32:01.85 - This man, who's very against Adventism, 00:32:01.95\00:32:04.59 he turns on the radio. What do you think 00:32:04.65\00:32:07.16 played? "Lift up the trumpet-" I can't 00:32:07.22\00:32:09.72 believe I'm singing on TV. What am I doing? 00:32:09.79\00:32:11.53 I can't sing! [laughter] Anyway, AWR! He didn't 00:32:11.59\00:32:16.10 like that. He was mad; turned the knob the 00:32:16.16\00:32:17.87 other way. All the other way! "Lift up 00:32:17.97\00:32:20.14 the trumpets-" AWR! He turns it again. 00:32:20.20\00:32:23.71 Oh, he's so upset! The radio would only 00:32:23.81\00:32:26.31 play AWR. Amen? [laughter] That's 00:32:26.37\00:32:29.24 such a miracle. He's upset. He walks away. 00:32:29.28\00:32:32.85 This woman-this wife- she's ecstatic! She 00:32:32.91\00:32:37.62 now has her home; her heart is full! So she 00:32:37.69\00:32:41.22 listens all day long. Doing her chores 00:32:41.29\00:32:43.09 around the house, she's listening to AWR. 00:32:43.16\00:32:45.19 What she didn't realize, her husband 00:32:45.26\00:32:47.66 was around the corner, listening as 00:32:47.73\00:32:50.53 well. - Ah... Wow! - She didn't know this! 00:32:50.60\00:32:53.57 A day came where he summoned her in, and 00:32:53.64\00:32:55.90 she'd never been summoned by him. She 00:32:55.97\00:32:57.87 was very scared, because she didn't 00:32:57.94\00:32:59.81 know what he was going to announce to her. 00:32:59.84\00:33:01.18 He called for her. She's like, "Is he 00:33:01.21\00:33:03.78 having an affair? What's going on?" 00:33:03.85\00:33:05.48 So she comes in all shaking. He says, 00:33:05.55\00:33:08.45 "Wife, I have something to tell you. Your 00:33:08.52\00:33:14.76 radio has taught me that the Adventist 00:33:14.82\00:33:18.16 message is the truth." - Bless his heart. 00:33:18.19\00:33:21.53 - "This Sabbath, you will be going back to 00:33:21.60\00:33:24.03 your church." But there's something more. 00:33:24.07\00:33:26.37 "I will follow you there." - Amen! 00:33:26.43\00:33:29.40 - Amen? So now, they are together, they study, 00:33:29.47\00:33:33.44 he's baptized, they have a wonderful 00:33:33.51\00:33:36.64 Seventh-Day Adventist home, all because of 00:33:36.71\00:33:38.88 the little radio that would only play AWR. 00:33:38.91\00:33:42.58 - That is a fabulous story. - It's awesome. 00:33:43.28\00:33:45.39 - It really is. - But during the time 00:33:45.49\00:33:49.72 this was going on, we were doing meetings 00:33:49.79\00:33:51.79 in Zambia. Our idea was, like we had 00:33:51.86\00:33:54.26 taken Japanese last year to Mindoro to 00:33:54.33\00:33:57.67 get excited about evangelism and go 00:33:57.73\00:33:59.07 back home and do the same, we brought 00:33:59.10\00:34:00.44 Europeans to Zambia to preach and get 00:34:00.47\00:34:03.41 excited. We had how many? Do you remember? 00:34:03.44\00:34:05.87 50? - Around 50. - Around 50 altogether, 00:34:05.94\00:34:09.41 wasn't it, to Lusaka, Zambia? I told you 00:34:09.48\00:34:12.25 about this last year. We had asked the 00:34:12.31\00:34:14.05 pastor how many meetings they would 00:34:14.12\00:34:15.45 do. We kept talking to them, talking to them, 00:34:15.48\00:34:17.15 and finally, they would do a thousand 00:34:17.19\00:34:18.92 meetings. That really happened. - Oh, it did! 00:34:18.99\00:34:21.59 - A thousand. That's the most meetings 00:34:21.66\00:34:24.46 ever done in any- - That's just one 00:34:24.49\00:34:27.16 city. - That's one city! - One city at 00:34:27.23\00:34:29.40 one time. Connect the dots. - Wow. 00:34:29.50\00:34:34.90 - Before that, we had done broadcasting, 00:34:34.97\00:34:36.77 all the health messages, all the Bible messages 00:34:36.81\00:34:39.11 into the city. So we're broadcasting, 00:34:39.17\00:34:41.14 we have these meetings, the Europeans are 00:34:41.21\00:34:42.58 preaching a thousand meetings at one time, 00:34:42.64\00:34:44.61 we send them a thousand video projectors, 00:34:44.68\00:34:46.45 brand-new ones... So here, they're 00:34:46.51\00:34:48.62 preaching with video projectors, they're 00:34:48.68\00:34:50.02 doing the health message, the churches 00:34:50.05\00:34:52.45 are full, however... Kathy, do you remember- 00:34:52.52\00:34:56.42 the Union president told us ahead of time, 00:34:56.52\00:34:59.63 this was not going to work because... 00:34:59.69\00:35:02.23 - It's the winter there. June is the coldest 00:35:02.30\00:35:07.14 month of the year. In fact... - That's 00:35:07.17\00:35:13.11 relative. It's like, 70. [laughter] 00:35:13.17\00:35:16.85 - We had set the days for the meetings, 00:35:16.91\00:35:20.28 then he calls up Duane and says, 00:35:20.32\00:35:23.28 "You have to change the dates." Duane 00:35:23.32\00:35:25.92 says, "It's impossible!" - It's a GC calendar. 00:35:25.99\00:35:29.39 You can't change it! - Yeah! We can't change 00:35:29.46\00:35:31.16 the dates. - He said, "Well, it won't work!" 00:35:31.19\00:35:33.06 "Well, no; let's try." So, they told us 00:35:33.13\00:35:36.20 later, they said, "We thought you might 00:35:36.26\00:35:37.60 have..." - 2,000 baptisms, maybe. 00:35:37.63\00:35:41.40 - At the most. 1,000 meetings plus the 00:35:41.50\00:35:43.54 other meetings in Livingstone. The Lord 00:35:43.61\00:35:45.84 blessed. Do we have pictures? - You could 00:35:45.91\00:35:48.31 show the video while- yes. I was just going 00:35:48.38\00:35:49.74 to say, would you please roll the video 00:35:49.81\00:35:51.15 of Zambia? - It's amazing. Look at that. 00:35:51.18\00:35:55.08 - Oh, wow. That's impressive. - That's 00:35:55.15\00:35:58.25 just in Livingstone. - We had many more 00:35:58.29\00:36:02.99 in Lusaka. That's the Livingstone one. 00:36:03.06\00:36:06.13 - Duane was baptizing there. - We had 70 00:36:07.50\00:36:11.60 meetings in Livingstone. - But altogether, 1,075, 00:36:11.67\00:36:18.64 I think, was it...across Zambia. - Yeah. - And 00:36:18.71\00:36:21.68 the Lord blessed another 2,000 baptisms. - Mm-mm. 00:36:21.78\00:36:24.38 Not 5,000. - Almost 18,000 baptisms. 00:36:24.41\00:36:29.22 - Praise the Lord. - Yeah. Just unbelievable. 00:36:30.25\00:36:32.22 One of the vice presidents of the Union 00:36:32.25\00:36:36.29 said to me, "We've learned this. God is 00:36:36.36\00:36:39.86 a God of the season." [laughter] - He works 00:36:39.93\00:36:43.50 year-round. - Amen! - From now on, we're 00:36:43.57\00:36:46.00 going to do meetings in June, we're going 00:36:46.07\00:36:47.40 to do them in September. - Now, give me some 00:36:47.44\00:36:49.30 sense. This is the one you brought the 00:36:49.40\00:36:50.91 European guys. - Uh-huh. Right here. They 00:36:50.97\00:36:53.58 were baptized. Can you imagine a guy 00:36:53.68\00:36:56.44 who's baptized two or three people all 00:36:56.54\00:36:57.91 of his ministry? Now all of a sudden he's 00:36:57.98\00:36:59.65 baptizing 100 people? [laughter] - And 00:36:59.71\00:37:02.55 several of those Europeans were with 00:37:02.62\00:37:04.02 ASI Europe. They are on fire for evangelism. 00:37:04.09\00:37:07.26 - Praise the Lord. - They saw what could 00:37:07.32\00:37:08.86 be done. They're wonderful people. I know they're 00:37:08.92\00:37:11.69 just going to do some amazing things. - They 00:37:11.76\00:37:13.09 said, "We can do that back again." - Praise 00:37:13.13\00:37:14.53 the Lord. I think that's such a blessed idea 00:37:14.60\00:37:17.70 for people who have particularly hard 00:37:17.80\00:37:19.23 territories to work in and don't have 00:37:19.33\00:37:21.27 the pleasure of baptizing large numbers of people- 00:37:21.30\00:37:24.31 to give them that experience to take that 00:37:24.37\00:37:26.44 back and sort of enthuse them to go back to 00:37:26.54\00:37:28.68 work in that area. - Yeah. They go where 00:37:28.74\00:37:30.95 the fires are burning, they touch the coals, 00:37:31.01\00:37:34.38 and they bring the coals back home. 00:37:34.48\00:37:37.55 - Sometimes we have the shyest of people 00:37:37.92\00:37:40.96 that come. I remember I was in Livingstone 00:37:41.02\00:37:43.39 at that time. There was one of our AWR 00:37:43.43\00:37:47.00 employees, just very shy, very soft-spoken. 00:37:47.10\00:37:50.83 He went out, he did it, and God blessed 00:37:50.90\00:37:53.94 him so remarkably. It just empowered 00:37:54.00\00:37:59.17 him like, "I can do something for God 00:37:59.24\00:38:02.18 in a public way!" - You have to understand, 00:38:02.24\00:38:04.78 all three of these ladies are experienced 00:38:04.85\00:38:07.32 international evangelists. They 00:38:07.38\00:38:09.62 have done this just like Irma. [laughter] 00:38:09.72\00:38:12.62 So they feel it. They know the power and 00:38:12.65\00:38:14.16 the energy. - And a lot of times, it's not 00:38:14.26\00:38:16.32 shyness as much as it is- in Irma's case, 00:38:16.42\00:38:19.79 she just didn't know what to do. You want 00:38:19.86\00:38:22.56 to do- she's not a shy person, but the 00:38:22.60\00:38:24.67 thought of evangelism kind of just bulls you 00:38:24.73\00:38:26.74 over. Then once you kind of dive in there, 00:38:26.84\00:38:28.80 it's like, "Oh, that's not so bad." - That's 00:38:28.87\00:38:30.27 right! Every single one of those baptisms 00:38:30.34\00:38:33.14 was absolutely important and precious. 00:38:33.17\00:38:35.88 There was one in particular that hit 00:38:35.94\00:38:37.61 very close to home in a very special way. 00:38:37.65\00:38:41.55 Duane, maybe you want to share a little 00:38:41.58\00:38:43.22 bit about that, because this lady... - Yeah, we 00:38:43.25\00:38:45.09 share last year a little bit about, we're 00:38:45.15\00:38:47.09 finding this lady who was listening to- 00:38:47.19\00:38:49.46 well, we had gone to her hotel kind of by 00:38:49.56\00:38:51.43 mistake way out in the bush. It was by 00:38:51.46\00:38:54.03 Victoria Falls in Livingstone, Zambia. 00:38:54.13\00:38:56.43 We had ended up there, and she's Afrikaans. 00:38:56.50\00:39:00.30 The day we're leaving, Kathy, you saw her 00:39:00.37\00:39:03.81 there. - That's right. She was studying 00:39:03.87\00:39:06.84 her Bible, and she had coffee there and a 00:39:06.91\00:39:09.84 cigarette. I went to thank her for their 00:39:09.94\00:39:14.48 wonderful hospitality, and she said to me, 00:39:14.58\00:39:16.69 "You know, I just love prophecy." Then 00:39:16.79\00:39:19.22 she went on to say, "I told my husband. 00:39:19.25\00:39:22.32 We were raised going to the church on the 00:39:22.42\00:39:25.13 wrong day of the week. Saturday is the day 00:39:25.23\00:39:28.80 to go to church. - Now, she did not know you 00:39:28.83\00:39:32.00 were Adventist at the time. - Well, she did. 00:39:32.03\00:39:34.20 - She did then. We had no idea. - She said, 00:39:34.24\00:39:40.54 "Every Saturday morning, my uncle 00:39:40.61\00:39:45.51 sends me a message. I started asking 00:39:45.55\00:39:49.98 questions, and so he said, 'You need to 00:39:50.05\00:39:52.52 get in touch with Neville Neveling.'" 00:39:52.59\00:39:55.02 I said, "Hm. Who's Neville Neveling?" 00:39:55.06\00:39:59.93 I said, "You need to give me the contact 00:40:00.00\00:40:03.53 information, because I'm sure Duane would 00:40:03.57\00:40:05.47 be very interested in talking to him." 00:40:05.57\00:40:10.21 - I called him immediately, and Kathy remembered 00:40:10.27\00:40:12.37 the name. He had gone, when we were in 00:40:12.44\00:40:14.54 Romania, he had gone to Georgia and preached 00:40:14.61\00:40:18.15 his first evangelistic meeting. He was doing 00:40:18.21\00:40:20.95 Sabbath school and church with his cell 00:40:21.05\00:40:22.92 phone with WhatsApp. He learned how to do 00:40:22.98\00:40:27.39 that, and he thought to himself, "I could 00:40:27.46\00:40:28.79 do evangelism." So that's what he started 00:40:28.82\00:40:31.03 doing. He's doing evangelism on WhatsApp. 00:40:31.09\00:40:34.23 It's amazing what the- we're going to go 00:40:34.36\00:40:37.37 there in just a second. The Lord 00:40:37.43\00:40:38.97 blessed in such a way that, just in June, I 00:40:39.03\00:40:42.90 baptized her right there. - Oh, wow. 00:40:43.00\00:40:45.51 That's exciting. - We should have 00:40:45.57\00:40:46.91 a picture of that I'm thinking of, but that's 00:40:46.98\00:40:49.61 the video clip. - She's so happy. - Antoinette. 00:40:49.68\00:40:52.71 - This is incredible. In Africa, the Dutch 00:40:52.75\00:40:56.95 people- these are Afrikaans, and they're 00:40:57.02\00:40:59.55 Dutch people. They're Dutch Reformed. They're 00:40:59.62\00:41:03.96 hard to win. They're tough, so it was just such 00:41:04.03\00:41:09.23 a blessing. - Praise the Lord. - But Duane, 00:41:09.30\00:41:11.10 remember? That same Sabbath, there was a 00:41:11.20\00:41:13.77 young lady, Reatha, that walked into a 00:41:13.84\00:41:17.51 church in Pretorius, South Africa. - And 00:41:17.61\00:41:20.31 she said, "I want to become a Seventh-Day 00:41:20.41\00:41:22.68 Adventist," and they said, "Who are you?" 00:41:22.74\00:41:25.11 [laughter] She said, "I'm Reatha, and I 00:41:25.18\00:41:28.42 have a PhD; I have two masters. For 00:41:28.48\00:41:30.99 22 years, I've been searching the Bible 00:41:31.05\00:41:33.66 and going to different churches, trying to 00:41:33.76\00:41:35.22 find the truth. My father is a Dutch 00:41:35.29\00:41:37.96 Reformed pastor of theologian for 00:41:37.99\00:41:40.73 the Dutch Reformed Church, so I've 00:41:40.83\00:41:42.63 been talking to him. I cannot find the 00:41:42.70\00:41:44.87 answers. All of a sudden, I started 00:41:44.93\00:41:47.47 getting these messages on my cell phone." 00:41:47.57\00:41:49.54 On WhatsApp. "And I started reading these 00:41:49.60\00:41:52.84 messages, and I have found the truth. I 00:41:52.87\00:41:55.24 want to be baptized." - Ellen White talks 00:41:55.28\00:41:57.55 about putting new life into old methods 00:41:57.61\00:41:59.25 and new methods altogether. WhatsApp 00:41:59.28\00:42:01.58 ministry. Who knew? Who'd have thought? 00:42:01.65\00:42:04.29 - That's right. And if I may say so, we 00:42:04.35\00:42:07.99 do have half-hour programs on 3ABN all 00:42:08.06\00:42:10.66 about cell phone evangelism. Check them out. 00:42:10.73\00:42:12.89 - Praise the Lord. So many ways to get 00:42:12.96\00:42:15.73 the gospel out. - You were talking about- 00:42:15.76\00:42:18.13 some people are behind the scenes, like Irma 00:42:18.20\00:42:20.14 was a little shyer, or some people don't 00:42:20.20\00:42:23.17 know what to do- this is the perfect 00:42:23.20\00:42:26.21 ministry for many people to use their 00:42:26.27\00:42:29.68 cell phone. They can sit at home and send 00:42:29.74\00:42:32.05 out these Bible messages, their 00:42:32.11\00:42:34.95 audio messages. It's incredible. Neville 00:42:35.02\00:42:39.59 and his team right now- what is it? 00:42:39.65\00:42:41.36 50,000? - Well, I just saw the new 00:42:41.42\00:42:43.26 numbers. It's closer to 100,000. - 100,000 00:42:43.32\00:42:46.23 people every week that they're sending. 00:42:46.33\00:42:48.60 - Around the world, on every continent 00:42:48.70\00:42:50.37 except for Antarctica. The penguins in 00:42:50.43\00:42:53.00 Antarctica, you know they don't use cell 00:42:53.07\00:42:54.44 phones in Antarctica. [laughter] Every 00:42:54.50\00:42:57.21 continent. Can you imagine? - And anyone 00:42:57.27\00:43:00.71 can do it. We actually featured a story on 00:43:00.78\00:43:03.78 a young woman who's blind, and she's 00:43:03.88\00:43:07.35 winning souls to the kingdom through her 00:43:07.42\00:43:10.32 cell phone, through AWR 360's cell phone 00:43:10.39\00:43:12.95 evangelism. - One of our friends- we were 00:43:13.02\00:43:15.49 just up in northern India. We just came 00:43:15.59\00:43:16.99 from India; we're trying to reach India 00:43:17.03\00:43:18.53 for next year. He's up in a little state 00:43:18.59\00:43:22.23 called Sikkim. I had never heard of it. 00:43:22.30\00:43:27.64 It's a little state. Until 1975, it 00:43:27.67\00:43:30.44 belonged to Nepal. So, it's right up there 00:43:30.51\00:43:32.77 kind of like a highway going through. It 00:43:32.81\00:43:34.88 goes from Bhutan to Nepal to Tibet, so 00:43:34.91\00:43:39.15 it's all connected there. He found out 00:43:39.21\00:43:41.25 that most of the people there are Christian 00:43:41.32\00:43:42.92 in that little state. - Oh, wow. - And it's 00:43:42.95\00:43:45.72 a highway between these countries that 00:43:45.82\00:43:47.16 we can't reach. And, everybody is using 00:43:47.19\00:43:50.09 WhatsApp and Facebook, so we're going to 00:43:50.13\00:43:54.33 move in there and forge this cell phone 00:43:54.43\00:43:56.93 evangelism so we can have a bridge to 00:43:57.00\00:43:59.30 connect these countries! - The door is cracked 00:43:59.37\00:44:00.94 if they're already on Facebook or WhatsApp. 00:44:01.00\00:44:04.04 - Wow, that's exciting stuff. - The 00:44:04.11\00:44:06.51 Lord is just opening more and more doors. 00:44:06.57\00:44:09.68 He's wanting to come! And we are so anxious 00:44:09.74\00:44:13.45 to help him in any way that we can, so 00:44:13.52\00:44:16.89 it's exciting to see these new developments. 00:44:16.95\00:44:19.25 - Yes, it really, really is. And it's exciting 00:44:19.35\00:44:21.09 to see the miracle-moving hand 00:44:21.16\00:44:22.76 of the Lord when you do these "when you 00:44:22.82\00:44:24.83 can't, He can." When you see a little opening 00:44:24.89\00:44:27.43 and you step through, the Lord opens the door 00:44:27.50\00:44:29.26 all the way. Fabulous. - And what's exciting 00:44:29.33\00:44:31.90 to see, too, is that laypeople are getting 00:44:31.97\00:44:34.27 interested in becoming involved 00:44:34.34\00:44:35.90 and being on fire. "Oh, this is something 00:44:35.94\00:44:38.51 I could do!" I mean, there was the shyest 00:44:38.57\00:44:40.38 man in all the church in South Africa. This 00:44:40.48\00:44:43.35 man hadn't spoken much other than "Hello," 00:44:43.45\00:44:46.51 or "Happy Sabbath," at the most in the 00:44:46.61\00:44:48.58 two years he had been attending. The cell 00:44:48.65\00:44:52.35 phone evangelism was presented- the idea 00:44:52.42\00:44:54.82 was presented to the Sabbath school class. 00:44:54.89\00:44:56.89 The person up front, he said, "How many of 00:44:56.93\00:45:00.40 you would like to become involved in 00:45:00.46\00:45:02.00 cell phone evangelism?" This shy guy-who's 00:45:02.06\00:45:05.67 precious, by the way; he's fabulous and 00:45:05.73\00:45:07.74 his name's Skulk- he raised his hand. 00:45:07.80\00:45:10.84 The guy up front knew him and he 00:45:10.91\00:45:12.41 said, "Oh, no, no, no. Skulk, I don't think 00:45:12.44\00:45:14.74 you understood what I said. This is 00:45:14.81\00:45:16.58 evangelism." [laughter] He said, "Now, how 00:45:16.64\00:45:19.81 many of you want to be involved and do 00:45:19.88\00:45:21.52 cell phone evangelism? Reach out to others 00:45:21.55\00:45:23.35 and tell the..." He raised it higher! 00:45:23.39\00:45:27.46 So, come to find out, he said, "This is the 00:45:27.52\00:45:31.09 way I can reach my Catholic family. I 00:45:31.19\00:45:35.93 can't talk about it, but I can send them 00:45:36.03\00:45:38.03 these messages much more easily." So he is! 00:45:38.13\00:45:40.60 He has a whole downline, per se, on WhatsApp 00:45:40.67\00:45:44.91 of people that he is- and he's the shyest 00:45:44.97\00:45:47.44 guy in the church. - Praise the Lord. 00:45:47.48\00:45:49.38 - We were joking, because the one man, 00:45:49.44\00:45:51.15 the Sabbath school instructor that had 00:45:51.21\00:45:53.15 asked me, he said, "Maybe next time, 00:45:53.18\00:45:55.05 you can give a big amen in Sabbath school!" 00:45:55.12\00:45:56.99 And he goes, "Mmm... Maybe not yet." 00:45:57.09\00:45:59.55 [laughter] But he's winning souls, you see? 00:45:59.62\00:46:03.99 So, any age group, any type of personality 00:46:04.06\00:46:07.43 can forward the message, and that, I really 00:46:07.50\00:46:11.90 believe-and what I have been seeing 00:46:11.97\00:46:13.54 around this world for the last year through 00:46:13.57\00:46:15.97 this AWR 360 cell phone evangelism- 00:46:16.04\00:46:18.07 I really believe this is a forefront of how 00:46:18.11\00:46:20.91 God's going to finish the work. How many 00:46:20.98\00:46:22.81 of us have cell phones attached to us? 00:46:22.84\00:46:25.88 Everybody. - When I noticed you guys 00:46:25.91\00:46:28.95 walking around when you come here, you 00:46:28.98\00:46:30.72 never quite touch the ground. You're 00:46:30.79\00:46:32.25 just a little above the ground, and this 00:46:32.35\00:46:34.12 is why. When you're constantly fed a diet 00:46:34.22\00:46:36.52 of this stuff, you're high all the time. 00:46:36.59\00:46:39.16 I've walked through cities (as we all have), 00:46:39.26\00:46:41.56 and you wanna, "How is the Lord gonna 00:46:41.66\00:46:43.37 do this?" You know? God has provided 00:46:43.43\00:46:46.10 the technology platform to get this 00:46:46.13\00:46:48.60 stuff done to reach hundreds of thousands 00:46:48.67\00:46:50.77 of people! - Amazing. - So much so that 00:46:50.84\00:46:55.61 Neville Neveling... You were able to 00:46:55.64\00:46:57.78 present quite the... Yeah! - Yes! You 00:46:57.85\00:47:01.68 have that picture up there? - Yeah, I think 00:47:01.75\00:47:03.08 we have a picture. - We're at?. 00:47:03.12\00:47:05.09 That was in the communication department, that was in the GC 00:47:05.15\00:47:08.72 each year. They give two awards to outstanding 00:47:08.76\00:47:11.73 people who are doing special work in 00:47:11.79\00:47:14.00 evangelism, or social media, or something. 00:47:14.06\00:47:16.03 They show us two laymen this year. One was in 00:47:16.10\00:47:20.00 Brazil. He's doing Facebook, and Neville. 00:47:20.07\00:47:22.37 That's Neville there. Ted is praying for us- 00:47:22.40\00:47:24.31 Elder Wilson. Elder Wilson kind of grew 00:47:24.37\00:47:26.74 a beard. - Yes, indeed. - We're praying for 00:47:26.81\00:47:30.01 Neville. This is Neville here. Right now, actually, 00:47:30.05\00:47:33.11 he's in India teaching people to do cell 00:47:33.18\00:47:35.18 phone evangelism. - Oh, wow. Praise the 00:47:35.25\00:47:36.79 Lord. - It's just amazing, the thousands 00:47:36.89\00:47:38.99 and thousands. It just multiplies and multiplies 00:47:39.05\00:47:41.22 and multiplies, 'cause you just share a file. 00:47:41.26\00:47:43.22 - Neville mentioned that-I think the 00:47:43.29\00:47:47.50 statistics are-57% of the people they 00:47:47.53\00:47:50.37 send these messages to will send it to 00:47:50.40\00:47:53.23 at least 4 other people. Just exponentially 00:47:53.27\00:47:57.51 spreads. - What was really interesting 00:47:57.54\00:48:00.28 is that, what? A few weeks ago with Japan, 00:48:00.34\00:48:02.11 how he put together just a real short 00:48:02.18\00:48:04.11 clip of what was happening in Japan, 00:48:04.15\00:48:06.35 it was a flooding and some devastation. 00:48:06.38\00:48:10.65 People, of course, are wondering what's 00:48:10.72\00:48:12.85 going on in this world and searching at that 00:48:12.89\00:48:14.79 moment when there's something like that 00:48:14.86\00:48:16.26 happening, and he took advantage of that. 00:48:16.32\00:48:18.23 I think God gave that to him to then post 00:48:18.29\00:48:20.90 on Facebook this little sort of infomercial. 00:48:20.93\00:48:24.07 "What's happening in the world-in Japan 00:48:24.17\00:48:26.13 here? If you want to find out reasons..." 00:48:26.20\00:48:28.77 - Too exciting. - Yeah! "Then all 00:48:28.84\00:48:31.87 you do is sign up with this WhatsApp 00:48:31.91\00:48:33.24 number, and you can receive the biblical 00:48:33.27\00:48:37.08 reasons of what is happening in our world." 00:48:37.11\00:48:40.88 Does anybody remember how many... - 14,000 00:48:40.95\00:48:43.15 as of two weeks ago. - Isn't that incredible? 00:48:43.22\00:48:50.49 In Japan! And it was in English! 00:48:50.56\00:48:55.23 - The infomercial was in English! - But 00:48:55.30\00:48:58.43 the sermons are in Japanese. Somebody's 00:48:58.47\00:49:00.60 there who's passing them back and forth. 00:49:00.67\00:49:02.34 It's just amazing! This is the place 00:49:02.44\00:49:04.14 where we had these meetings, and it's 00:49:04.21\00:49:06.11 so hard. We baptized quite a few, but still, 00:49:06.21\00:49:09.08 all of a sudden, 14,000! - He advertised 00:49:09.14\00:49:13.08 that for three days. - And that's it. 00:49:13.15\00:49:15.82 You see how fast this could go? - Amazingly, 00:49:17.09\00:49:20.32 people have been saying to him, or whoever's 00:49:20.39\00:49:24.59 sending out the messages, "Why hasn't 00:49:24.63\00:49:27.76 someone told me this before?" It's phenomenal. 00:49:27.86\00:49:34.90 - We're accountable. - Agreed, Sue. Very 00:49:35.04\00:49:38.24 much so. One could be led to think... 00:49:38.31\00:49:39.97 We've... I don't want to say "stumbled 00:49:41.11\00:49:42.88 on something." The Lord has led us into 00:49:42.94\00:49:44.65 something. If you can get those kinds of 00:49:44.71\00:49:46.15 numbers in Japan, aggressively secular, 00:49:46.21\00:49:48.52 not really- well, sort of not into 00:49:48.58\00:49:50.82 western Christianity. To get those kinds 00:49:50.89\00:49:53.19 of numbers, the Lord is trying to say something. 00:49:53.25\00:49:55.76 He really is! Praise God. Our time- 00:49:55.82\00:49:59.89 when you're having fun, man, stuff goes so fast. 00:49:59.96\00:50:02.63 I want to go to the address roll, then 00:50:02.70\00:50:07.90 what I'm going to do- I'm instructing my crew 00:50:07.97\00:50:10.31 here-let's go to the address roll and then 00:50:10.37\00:50:12.84 straight to the news break, then come back 00:50:12.91\00:50:15.68 and want to give us some time to sort of 00:50:15.74\00:50:17.21 put a little bow on this and wrap this 00:50:17.25\00:50:18.58 up. Should you want to make contact... 00:50:18.61\00:50:21.12 You may want to get involved in any 00:50:21.18\00:50:22.92 number of ways. Certainly, they can use your 00:50:22.98\00:50:24.89 finances, they can use your prayers, 00:50:24.92\00:50:26.32 they can use your body and your mind and 00:50:26.39\00:50:28.49 your mouth and your legs and your arms 00:50:28.52\00:50:30.26 and your feet and your toes and your everything 00:50:30.29\00:50:31.69 else to come and do one of these meetings. 00:50:31.76\00:50:33.93 Should you want to make contact, here is 00:50:34.00\00:50:35.63 the information that you're going to need. 00:50:35.70\00:50:37.17 If you're interested in supporting the work 00:50:41.47\00:50:43.51 of Adventist World Radio, please visit 00:50:43.57\00:50:46.01 their website, AWR.org, to find out more. 00:50:46.07\00:50:50.11 That website, again, is AWR.org.
