00:01 It's been a privilege to have Jean Boonstra,
00:02 associate speaker for the Voice of Prophecy, 00:04 with us today talking about Discovery Mountain, 00:07 this incredible radio program for kids. 00:10 Now tell me, Jean, 00:12 why did you decide to make it 00:13 in a radio format instead of television? 00:15 Ah, that's a good question. 00:16 Well, for a couple of reasons really. 00:18 In 2013, when Shawn and I began with the Voice of Prophecy, 00:22 we thought about the legacy of Voice of Prophecy. 00:25 You know, starting as a radio ministry 00:27 with H.M.S. Richards, 00:29 and we thought about some of the other audio things 00:32 that other ministries were doing 00:34 that are not Seventh-day Adventist. 00:36 And we thought, 00:37 "We should really be doing something." 00:39 And as we researched, and we prayed about it, 00:42 we thought that audio was really the way to go 00:44 for a couple of reasons. 00:46 First of all, I think when you have an audio story and stories 00:50 as we've already discussed are timeless. 00:51 Jesus spoke in parables, you know, for a reason. 00:54 It speaks to us throughout the ages. 00:57 But when you're looking at programming, 00:59 particularly for kids, generally, 01:01 it's the pictures or the images that feel dated. 01:04 It's not the content, it's not the story. 01:06 So audio kind of solves that. 01:07 And also Shawn and I both love audio. 01:10 He is a huge radio listener. 01:12 He loves 3ABN Radio. 01:13 And I love audio books. 01:15 I have a whole list of podcasts that I really enjoy. 01:18 And so it just felt 01:19 like the right fit for this type of programming. 01:22 Amen. 01:23 It's an incredible program, 01:25 and I'm so glad we had this opportunity 01:26 to feature Discovery Mountain, 01:28 to show our viewers at home what God is doing in 01:31 and through the Voice of Prophecy, 01:33 specifically with this program for kids. 01:35 So thank you, Jean. 01:36 Thank you.
