weld people's bicycles,

I realized that
God was calling me.

He was doing
something special in my heart

and wanting me to
continue this service.

remember very distinctly,

a church service in Tanzania.

The old man upfront
was preaching in Swahili

and he brought out Romans 10,

and the verses there just
seemed to jump off the page.

It was like God was telling me,

"That's you, you
need to be a preacher.

You need to be an evangelist.

You need to go
tell someone else,

use your feet to bring
the gospel to someone."

And so I said, "Okay.

I guess I'll be a
missionary, Lord."

And how did you settle on Congo?

Well, I was
working just in Tanzania,

had gotten some short
training for a few months

at a small Bible college
with Pastor Louis Torres.

And I began
preaching around Tanzania,

doing more church buildings.

And it was when we
saw the church leaders

up at the division
office in Nairobi, Kenya

and we just went to
tell about what we're doing.

I kind of went along
as my dad's sidekick,

you know, just to tell,

"Well, I'm along with my dad

preaching and
working in Tanzania."

And the leaders
from Congo were there,

the church leaders
were there at the meeting.

And they said,
they singled me out.

They talked to me afterwards

and said, "We want
you to come to Congo."

So I said, "Well, I don't know.

And those prayers,
they had an effect on me.

Actually I kept
praying for Congo.

I said, "Lord, if
you don't want me to go,

And yet, well,
I went to college,

my pastoral training

coming back to my mind,

So by the end of my
first year in college,

And as she looked at

Congo is the one
that grabbed her heart.

desire to serve Jesus

agreed to be my girlfriend

I got to visit on that trip

And it's real near Kasongo

which is where
the Muslim capital

of that area of the country is

but I went over to Samba.

And this was this
lady her name was Wayuma.

And Wayuma grew up
in the Islamic faith,

her husband was
teaching in the mosque.
00:43:05.28\00:43:07.58
And yet she was uncomfortable.
00:43:07.62\00:43:11.99
She realized there was
something missing in her life.
00:43:12.02\00:43:15.96
And so she was looking

and somebody came
to her village now

teaching the
truth of the gospel.

And she went to their
home and started learning

what they were
teaching out of the Word of God.

was kneeling in prayer

by her bedside.

And he got so angry,
he looked at her and said,

he'd began to threaten her.

her strength and her courage.
