Gladstone, is near where? 00:02:08.02\00:02:10.63 Portland. Portland, okay. 00:02:10.66\00:02:11.99 Yes, a bedroom city, 00:02:12.03\00:02:13.36 a bedroom community for Portland, okay. 00:02:13.40\00:02:14.73 So in the Portland metro area, very good. 00:02:14.76\00:02:16.70 You both are Northwest guys? Yes. 00:02:16.73\00:02:20.87 From the Oregon area? Right now. 00:02:20.90\00:02:23.10 That could be anything. 00:02:26.11\00:02:27.58 I wanna get, before we talk about the mission 00:02:27.61\00:02:29.14 and go to our music, 00:02:29.18\00:02:30.51 I want to get a little history on both of you. 00:02:30.55\00:02:31.88 And I think I'll start with you, James, 00:02:31.91\00:02:33.25 'cause you got a pretty interesting background, 00:02:33.28\00:02:35.48 born in Adventist home and grew up Adventist? 00:02:35.52\00:02:37.29 Yes. 00:02:37.32\00:02:38.65 Yeah, grew up in Adventist, great Adventist mother, 00:02:38.69\00:02:40.86 and about high school, after high school, 00:02:40.89\00:02:43.29 or during high school I left the church for about 26 years. 00:02:43.32\00:02:46.93 So some wilderness time there. 00:02:46.96\00:02:48.30 Some wilderness time. Yeah. 00:02:48.33\00:02:49.86 It's a pretty heavy wilderness time. 00:02:49.90\00:02:51.37 And so, but, after 26 years there were few things 00:02:51.40\00:02:55.00 that happened in my life that brought me to my knees 00:02:55.04\00:02:57.51 and brought me back to God. 00:02:57.54\00:02:59.87 On your way out, was it kind of a sudden thing, 00:02:59.91\00:03:02.14 did you kind of just drift away, 00:03:02.18\00:03:03.61 did you not have a chance to sort of 00:03:03.65\00:03:04.98 lock on to Christ for yourself, how do you describe that time? 00:03:05.01\00:03:08.52 It was step-by-step, I mean, Satan takes you piece-by-piece. 00:03:08.55\00:03:12.32 Yeah. 00:03:12.35\00:03:13.69 You know, one compromise then another compromise, 00:03:13.72\00:03:15.32 and pretty much, and after a while 00:03:15.36\00:03:16.99 those compromises don't seem like compromises 00:03:17.03\00:03:19.09 and you're just walking down the wrong road. 00:03:19.13\00:03:20.80 Yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:03:20.83\00:03:22.16 And so that's, you know, that's pretty much what took me 00:03:22.20\00:03:24.13 in the wrong direction, 00:03:24.17\00:03:25.50 it's just doing this, doing that, 00:03:25.53\00:03:27.17 I knew that was wrong, but hey, it's, I feel it's okay now. 00:03:27.20\00:03:30.57 Right, right. 00:03:30.61\00:03:31.94 Right, in case, you kind of desensitize 00:03:31.97\00:03:33.51 to the voice of Holy Spirit. 00:03:33.54\00:03:34.88 Yes. So walk me through the return? 00:03:34.91\00:03:38.91 Well, on the return, I had felt God calling 00:03:38.95\00:03:42.22 in my life several times throughout my life 00:03:42.25\00:03:44.02 because I had that solid Christian foundation 00:03:44.05\00:03:46.76 which is so important to children, 00:03:46.79\00:03:48.62 the Adventist schools 00:03:48.66\00:03:49.99 or just was really what helped me 00:03:50.03\00:03:51.76 have that solid foundation. 00:03:51.79\00:03:53.70 What brought me back was watching my son 00:03:53.73\00:03:56.26 who I hadn't given that foundation to. 00:03:56.30\00:03:59.40 And I watched him start going downhill, 00:03:59.43\00:04:02.47 I used to watch him start to experiment with drugs, 00:04:02.50\00:04:04.87 with alcohol, and get to a point 00:04:04.91\00:04:09.34 where at 15 years old, 00:04:09.38\00:04:11.41 he was leaving the house, he wasn't coming back at night, 00:04:11.45\00:04:15.85 and me and my wife would look at each other and say, 00:04:15.88\00:04:17.82 "You know, did Jimmy make it home last night." 00:04:17.85\00:04:20.82 And then finally, one point, he came into the house 00:04:20.86\00:04:25.33 and his eyes were all big, being high on coke or something 00:04:25.36\00:04:29.23 and he walked in his room and he slammed the door, 00:04:29.26\00:04:31.53 and I said, "This is it, I can't take this anymore." 00:04:31.57\00:04:33.44 And I go in there, 00:04:33.47\00:04:34.80 and I grabbed him by the collar, 00:04:34.84\00:04:36.17 and I put him against the wall, I said, 00:04:36.20\00:04:37.64 "You can't do this anymore." 00:04:37.67\00:04:39.37 And he looked at me and he started hitting 00:04:39.41\00:04:41.81 his own head against the wall saying, 00:04:41.84\00:04:44.08 "You can't hurt me, you can't hurt me." 00:04:44.11\00:04:46.72 At that point, I mean, I just let him down 00:04:46.75\00:04:50.82 and little bit later I went into the bedroom 00:04:50.85\00:04:54.16 and I fell on my knees and I said, 00:04:54.19\00:04:56.12 "God, if You help me save my son, 00:04:56.16\00:04:58.29 I will do anything, I would go anywhere, 00:04:58.33\00:05:00.90 I would do anything you'd like me to do." 00:05:00.93\00:05:02.56 And when you tell God that C.A... 00:05:02.60\00:05:05.03 Yeah, yeah. 00:05:05.07\00:05:06.40 You better have your work boots handy. 00:05:06.43\00:05:07.77 Yeah, very true. 00:05:07.80\00:05:09.14 'Cause, I tell you what, when I told God, 00:05:09.17\00:05:10.51 I would do anything, boy, oh, boy, 00:05:10.54\00:05:13.07 did God really start working in my life. 00:05:13.11\00:05:15.51 And it was shortly after that, that I was baptized 00:05:15.54\00:05:18.48 and God just set it up for me to get involved in one ministry 00:05:18.51\00:05:21.55 after another until finally I got involved in this ministry 00:05:21.58\00:05:25.62 and helped another gentleman to start Ultimate Mission. 00:05:25.65\00:05:28.92 And it has gone from there. 00:05:28.96\00:05:31.93 Praise God. Praise God. 00:05:31.96\00:05:33.29 And God is really, really opened a lot of doors for us. 00:05:33.33\00:05:36.03 Now this is post your motorcycle accident. 00:05:36.06\00:05:39.20 No, my motorcycle accident was when I was 21 years old. 00:05:39.23\00:05:42.04 Oh, okay. 00:05:42.07\00:05:43.41 Yeah, I was 21, I had already left the church, 00:05:43.44\00:05:45.24 I was doing some things, I knew I shouldn't have been doing, 00:05:45.27\00:05:49.18 and I had that motorcycle accident. 00:05:49.21\00:05:51.15 And unfortunately, well, at the time I lost my leg 00:05:51.18\00:05:54.98 above the knee, I broke my femur, 00:05:55.02\00:05:57.05 I had 13 metal plates in my face, 00:05:57.09\00:05:59.12 my jaw had, they had my jaw wired up, 00:05:59.15\00:06:01.06 my nose is completely rebuilt. 00:06:01.09\00:06:02.86 And it scares me looking back at that, C.A., 00:06:02.89\00:06:07.00 because if I would have died that day 00:06:07.03\00:06:09.76 in that motorcycle accident with where I was at with God... 00:06:09.80\00:06:12.37 Yeah, yeah. 00:06:12.40\00:06:13.74 I would've woken up looking at the outside of the walls 00:06:13.77\00:06:16.20 of the New Jerusalem. 00:06:16.24\00:06:17.57 I'm hearing you, yeah. 00:06:17.61\00:06:18.94 And so I look back on that, God saved my life for a reason. 00:06:18.97\00:06:22.58 And but, you know, I was so stubborn, 00:06:22.61\00:06:24.58 I remember laying there at the hospital, 00:06:24.61\00:06:26.48 thinking to myself, you know, 00:06:26.51\00:06:27.85 this is a good time to turn over new leaf. 00:06:27.88\00:06:29.42 This would be a good time to go back to my Adventist route 00:06:29.45\00:06:32.09 but then I thought, you know, what would my friends think? 00:06:32.12\00:06:35.46 What would my friends think? 00:06:35.49\00:06:36.83 What is and I was too stubborn, and I felt like 00:06:36.86\00:06:40.50 I was strong enough to take care of myself. 00:06:40.53\00:06:42.43 Yeah. Yeah. 00:06:42.46\00:06:43.80 And I felt I had to change and become perfect 00:06:43.83\00:06:46.03 before I can come back to church and come back to God. 00:06:46.07\00:06:48.30 I didn't realize I could come back to Him as I was. 00:06:48.34\00:06:50.17 Yes, sir. 00:06:50.21\00:06:51.54 And so it took me until, you know, 00:06:51.57\00:06:54.71 until that happened to my son and the funny part about, 00:06:54.74\00:06:57.78 you know, he was 11 and he was sitting there 00:06:57.81\00:07:00.12 at the fireplace and he said, he told me, he said, 00:07:00.15\00:07:02.42 "Dad, we need to start going to church." 00:07:02.45\00:07:05.49 And I looked at him and I said, "Yeah, I know we should." 00:07:05.52\00:07:09.19 But I didn't. Yeah. 00:07:09.22\00:07:10.56 And it was only four years after that 00:07:10.59\00:07:11.93 that he got into drugs and alcohol. 00:07:11.96\00:07:13.36 So I tell you there is enough guilt. 00:07:13.40\00:07:16.70 Yeah. Yeah. 00:07:16.73\00:07:19.13 But yeah, I had a great experience with God 00:07:19.17\00:07:24.41 that He brought me to my knees and brought me to the point 00:07:24.44\00:07:27.38 where I am, and it is just, I can't, I just can't think 00:07:27.41\00:07:32.11 how it could have gone better once I got. 00:07:32.15\00:07:34.22 Once I finally surrendered, once I gave it up. 00:07:34.25\00:07:37.35 Praise the God, that's the secret, surrender. 00:07:37.39\00:07:38.79 Yeah. 00:07:38.82\00:07:40.16 Donald, your history is little different, 00:07:40.19\00:07:42.49 missionary parents. 00:07:42.52\00:07:43.86 Yeah. 00:07:43.89\00:07:45.23 So you grew up with the accoutrements of Adventism? 00:07:45.26\00:07:46.86 Yeah. Yeah. 00:07:46.90\00:07:48.23 Talk to me a little bit about growing up? 00:07:48.26\00:07:49.76 So, that's a funny story when I was probably a teenager, 00:07:49.80\00:07:57.64 we were at one of my aunt's church, 00:07:57.67\00:08:01.04 I call her my aunt, was actually my dad's aunt. 00:08:01.08\00:08:03.95 And she had written a poem that she was reciting 00:08:03.98\00:08:07.52 in front of the church. 00:08:07.55\00:08:09.38 She was kind of the youngest of and kind of the favorite aunt 00:08:09.42\00:08:13.76 who took care of them when they were kids, 00:08:13.79\00:08:15.32 and she was the one who always said these prayers 00:08:15.36\00:08:16.96 when he went to bed. 00:08:16.99\00:08:18.33 He was a farm boy, grew up in Alberta 00:08:18.36\00:08:20.50 and she read this poem, 00:08:20.53\00:08:22.43 and every day when he would go to bed he would say, 00:08:22.46\00:08:25.70 "Lord, please make me a missionary." 00:08:25.73\00:08:27.80 And so that's what happened, 00:08:27.84\00:08:29.20 he went to Canadian Union College, 00:08:29.24\00:08:30.87 he went to Walla Walla, 00:08:30.91\00:08:32.94 he got a physical therapy degree, 00:08:32.97\00:08:34.98 went to Loma Linda, he got his masters 00:08:35.01\00:08:36.64 in health science, and went over to India. 00:08:36.68\00:08:41.15 Well, he tried to go to India, on the way to the boat, 00:08:41.18\00:08:44.69 a dual wheel came off of the semi trailer 00:08:44.72\00:08:48.12 and hit their car. 00:08:48.16\00:08:49.49 My oldest brother was about a year or so old at that time, 00:08:49.52\00:08:53.96 maybe a year and a half and the car rolled 00:08:54.00\00:08:56.80 and so they had to wait to get to India, 00:08:56.83\00:09:00.04 fractured my brother's head, 00:09:00.07\00:09:01.64 both directions and he was in the coma 00:09:01.67\00:09:04.04 for about nine days. 00:09:04.07\00:09:05.41 Wow. 00:09:05.44\00:09:06.78 My mom broke her back and was in a back brace 00:09:06.81\00:09:08.81 for quite a while and once they recovered from that, 00:09:08.84\00:09:11.65 they went over to India. 00:09:11.68\00:09:13.01 They were there for about three years 00:09:13.05\00:09:14.38 working at different memorial and Newsvine 00:09:14.42\00:09:16.82 and he would go all over India, 00:09:16.85\00:09:18.49 and he would do health programs and he would teach 00:09:18.52\00:09:20.89 physical therapy at the nursing school 00:09:20.92\00:09:22.66 and those kind of things. 00:09:22.69\00:09:24.99 After India, they moved to Jordan 00:09:25.03\00:09:29.10 and they got evacuated out of Jordan 00:09:29.13\00:09:32.33 at the start of the Six-Day War. 00:09:32.37\00:09:34.44 And they were back in the States 00:09:34.47\00:09:36.60 for a short period of time and they went over 00:09:36.64\00:09:39.74 to Heri Mission Hospital in Tanzania. 00:09:39.77\00:09:42.11 Your folk did not take the easy route. 00:09:42.14\00:09:44.61 I know. 00:09:44.65\00:09:47.45 Some tough assignments. 00:09:47.48\00:09:49.38 In Heri, he was working 00:09:49.42\00:09:52.25 on a village health worker training program. 00:09:52.29\00:09:54.09 So they would take people and train them to go out 00:09:54.12\00:09:55.99 in the villages and combat disease in the villages. 00:09:56.02\00:09:58.59 Sure. 00:09:58.63\00:10:00.70 They got a call back from Heri when my mom's father died 00:10:00.73\00:10:05.60 after about three years or so and then went back, I was, 00:10:05.63\00:10:10.77 so I got born there at Heri Mission Hospital 00:10:10.81\00:10:13.17 and we left not too long after I was born, 00:10:13.21\00:10:15.51 we were in Canada for a couple of years 00:10:15.54\00:10:17.31 while he was working up in the Indian reservations 00:10:17.35\00:10:19.55 in the far north. 00:10:19.58\00:10:21.28 And then we went back to Tanzania 00:10:21.32\00:10:23.15 for about four or five years, about maybe four and a half, 00:10:23.18\00:10:27.16 and they were combining a theological seminary 00:10:27.19\00:10:32.56 at Arusha with the village health worker training program. 00:10:32.59\00:10:35.33 So the pastors would go out 00:10:35.36\00:10:37.53 train to do both health ministries 00:10:37.57\00:10:39.70 and regular pastoral work when they went back 00:10:39.73\00:10:41.90 to their villages. 00:10:41.94\00:10:43.77 So they did that for about four years and so I grew up, 00:10:43.81\00:10:47.18 my early time there and when I was a little older, 00:10:47.21\00:10:49.74 he moved back to Loma Linda, he was working on a PhD, 00:10:49.78\00:10:53.18 before he went to Weimar to teach there 00:10:53.21\00:10:55.78 at the health centre at Weimar 00:10:55.82\00:10:57.35 and run the outpatient Newstart program. 00:10:57.39\00:11:00.89 And from there, I kind of went on to college 00:11:00.92\00:11:03.93 and I went nursing directions. 00:11:03.96\00:11:07.06 It is one thing to be born of missionary parents 00:11:07.10\00:11:10.53 and you get, you're born in Tanzania? 00:11:10.57\00:11:13.60 Yeah. 00:11:13.64\00:11:14.97 It's another thing to know the Lord for yourself. 00:11:15.00\00:11:18.11 When did the Lord start to put His hand into your life, 00:11:18.14\00:11:20.88 for you? 00:11:20.91\00:11:22.24 Yeah, you know, it's, I don't have 00:11:22.28\00:11:25.25 one of those experiences where I can say, 00:11:25.28\00:11:26.92 okay, well, on this day this happened. 00:11:26.95\00:11:30.35 It's more kind of an ebb and flow. 00:11:30.39\00:11:35.26 You kind of know the things what the Adventist church 00:11:35.29\00:11:38.76 teaches you to make your life better 00:11:38.79\00:11:40.80 and sometimes you kind of grab, 00:11:40.83\00:11:43.06 hold of those with both hands for a while and then 00:11:43.10\00:11:45.53 you get kind of distracted and then you kind of drift off 00:11:45.57\00:11:48.40 towards into something else and then you say, "Oh, yeah!" 00:11:48.44\00:11:51.44 I should be concentrating on this. 00:11:51.47\00:11:53.78 And so you kind of move back to that, so. 00:11:53.81\00:11:57.35 You know, I can't put my hand on any specific time and say, 00:11:57.38\00:12:00.92 "Okay, this is when I figured out 00:12:00.95\00:12:02.35 what it was all about." 00:12:02.38\00:12:03.72 You know, in some ways I can say, 00:12:03.75\00:12:05.09 I was probably more of a Christian 00:12:05.12\00:12:06.45 as a child than I am now, and in some ways 00:12:06.49\00:12:10.23 I am more of a Christian now than I was then, so... 00:12:10.26\00:12:13.90 Yeah. 00:12:13.93\00:12:15.26 Sometimes when you're doing the work of the Lord, 00:12:15.30\00:12:17.67 it's hard to sit back and be clinical 00:12:17.70\00:12:20.14 in evaluating your own life. 00:12:20.17\00:12:22.00 You know, I know this is right, I am settled in this, 00:12:22.04\00:12:24.01 this is what I do, this is what I am. 00:12:24.04\00:12:26.24 I've no questions about this, 00:12:26.27\00:12:28.78 I'm in, you know, I'm a lifer, I'm in. 00:12:28.81\00:12:30.75 Yeah. 00:12:30.78\00:12:32.11 I'm into Jesus and I'm into His work. 00:12:32.15\00:12:34.52 We want to move into how you guys got together 00:12:34.55\00:12:39.19 and this wonderful ministry that has come out of that. 00:12:39.22\00:12:41.92 I think we'll go to our music just now 00:12:41.96\00:12:43.73 which is coming to us from the Breath of Life Quartet, 00:12:43.76\00:12:46.46 they will be singing "Have Thine Own Way, Lord", 00:12:46.49\00:12:48.86 then we'll come back 00:12:48.90\00:12:50.23 and we'll unpackage this ministry 00:12:50.27\00:12:52.47 and talk about some of the wonderful things 00:12:52.50\00:12:53.97 that they are doing, and that God is doing through them. 00:12:54.00\00:12:56.87 Have Thine own way 00:13:32.24\00:13:36.91 Lord 00:13:36.95\00:13:40.92 Have Thine own way 00:13:40.95\00:13:45.09 Thou art the potter 00:13:50.06\00:13:57.40 I am the clay 00:13:57.43\00:14:04.64 Mold me 00:14:04.67\00:14:06.01 And make me 00:14:06.04\00:14:12.95 After Thy will 00:14:12.98\00:14:19.69 While I am waiting 00:14:19.72\00:14:27.00 Yielded and still 00:14:27.03\00:14:31.97 Have Thine own way 00:14:35.54\00:14:40.24 Lord 00:14:40.28\00:14:44.68 Have Thine own way 00:14:44.71\00:14:48.85 Hold over my being 00:14:54.26\00:15:01.46 Absolute sway 00:15:01.50\00:15:08.47 Filled with 00:15:08.50\00:15:09.84 Thy spirit 00:15:09.87\00:15:17.05 Till all shall see 00:15:17.08\00:15:23.49 Christ only always 00:15:23.52\00:15:30.99 Living in me 00:15:31.03\00:15:38.00 Living 00:15:55.25\00:15:59.85 In me 00:16:03.73\00:16:09.20 Breath of Life Quartet, Have Thine Own Way, 00:16:16.17\00:16:18.14 Lord, well done. 00:16:18.17\00:16:19.51 My guests are James Reynolds and Donald Lawrenson? 00:16:19.54\00:16:22.81 Lorenson? Yeah. 00:16:22.84\00:16:24.18 I like Lawrenson. You can go either way. 00:16:24.21\00:16:28.98 They both have Ultimate Mission. 00:16:29.02\00:16:30.95 And we wanna talk about, we've gotten little history 00:16:30.99\00:16:33.56 on them as individuals. 00:16:33.59\00:16:35.12 I need to ask how you guys met. 00:16:35.16\00:16:36.49 How did you guys come together? 00:16:36.52\00:16:38.39 James knocked on my door. Okay. 00:16:38.43\00:16:43.73 Donald kinda started coming to our church and I'd seen him 00:16:43.77\00:16:48.00 but I hadn't really talked to him. 00:16:48.04\00:16:49.67 But we had to hire a Bible worker 00:16:49.70\00:16:51.31 at the Gladstone Park Church. 00:16:51.34\00:16:52.67 And so I was going door to door with him 00:16:52.71\00:16:54.44 doing Bible worker type stuff 00:16:54.48\00:16:56.41 and I ended up knocking on Donald's door 00:16:56.44\00:16:58.58 and he recognized me from church 00:16:58.61\00:16:59.95 and he invited us in. 00:16:59.98\00:17:01.52 And then I had seen a stethoscope 00:17:01.55\00:17:03.49 hanging there on his bag. 00:17:03.52\00:17:05.35 And I was as running the Healthy Heart program, 00:17:05.39\00:17:08.32 I'm always looking for nurses, 00:17:08.36\00:17:09.69 I'm always looking for medical people, 00:17:09.72\00:17:11.66 and the light went off. 00:17:11.69\00:17:13.26 That's like, oh, okay, and then from then Donald 00:17:13.29\00:17:15.73 and I'd been working very closely together ever since. 00:17:15.76\00:17:18.10 Yeah. 00:17:18.13\00:17:19.47 I mean, he is my main advisor for the Health Program 00:17:19.50\00:17:22.90 since he actually know something about it. 00:17:22.94\00:17:25.04 Yeah. 00:17:25.07\00:17:26.78 You know, I will say this, it seems like 00:17:26.81\00:17:29.34 when you came back to Lord, 00:17:29.38\00:17:30.71 you sort of jumped in with both feet. 00:17:30.75\00:17:32.08 You went into deep and you didn't kind of come in 00:17:32.11\00:17:34.05 to be a couch potato or sort of watch other people, 00:17:34.08\00:17:35.98 you got involved which is the way to do it. 00:17:36.02\00:17:38.42 Yeah, yeah, it is the way to do it because I believe 00:17:38.45\00:17:42.42 if I didn't get involved, I would get bored. 00:17:42.46\00:17:44.49 If I was just sitting in the pews, 00:17:44.53\00:17:46.16 if I was just listening the sermon on Sabbath 00:17:46.19\00:17:48.16 and going home the rest of the week, 00:17:48.20\00:17:50.87 that wouldn't have kept the fire. 00:17:50.90\00:17:52.43 Yeah, yeah. 00:17:52.47\00:17:53.80 And every time I see the Holy Spirit work 00:17:53.84\00:17:55.54 in somebody's life, 00:17:55.57\00:17:56.91 every time I see somebody give their heart to God, 00:17:56.94\00:17:59.27 I mean, that just gives me that energy and that fire 00:17:59.31\00:18:01.48 that I need to keep my Christian faith, 00:18:01.51\00:18:03.68 and my experience working. 00:18:03.71\00:18:05.45 And I want to say one more thing 00:18:05.48\00:18:06.82 on that last we talked about my son. 00:18:06.85\00:18:08.45 My son now is doing fantastic. 00:18:08.48\00:18:10.85 Excellent. So yes, yeah. 00:18:10.89\00:18:12.22 Yeah, that is great. That's good to hear. 00:18:12.25\00:18:14.49 That's fitting. 00:18:14.52\00:18:15.86 So God answered my prayer. Amen. 00:18:15.89\00:18:17.73 Yes, we made a deal and He stuck to His side of it. 00:18:17.76\00:18:21.20 And you're holding up your end of the bargain, 00:18:21.23\00:18:22.56 so it seems at least, yeah, 00:18:22.60\00:18:23.97 and we praise the Lord for that. 00:18:24.00\00:18:25.33 So you met, he's in your house, how did you move into 00:18:25.37\00:18:29.10 because you're doing heart stuff already. 00:18:29.14\00:18:30.67 You are already doing that when you met Donald. 00:18:30.71\00:18:33.54 Yeah, we're working in big stores, 00:18:33.58\00:18:37.05 doing blood pressure checks and health risk assessments. 00:18:37.08\00:18:41.15 But so I asked Donald to help us do that 00:18:41.18\00:18:43.79 and then we started moving into India. 00:18:43.82\00:18:47.06 And so that was the story, I was working with Asian Aid, 00:18:47.09\00:18:50.63 and I had been to India with Asian Aid, 00:18:50.66\00:18:52.96 and I was working trying to get 00:18:52.99\00:18:54.33 some of their children sponsored. 00:18:54.36\00:18:55.70 And Asian Aid is a great organization. 00:18:55.73\00:18:57.40 Oh, yes. 00:18:57.43\00:18:58.90 And Jim Rennie was going to sponsor me 00:18:58.93\00:19:01.34 to go over to India to do an evangelism program. 00:19:01.37\00:19:05.27 And so I had written all the sermons, 00:19:05.31\00:19:06.91 I'd gotten everything done for the evangelism program, 00:19:06.94\00:19:09.34 I was starting to look at it, renting the lorries, 00:19:09.38\00:19:12.35 and building or the tents, and everything you need to do. 00:19:12.38\00:19:14.95 Sure. 00:19:14.98\00:19:16.32 And Jim called me and he says, 00:19:16.35\00:19:17.79 "Well, the government's tightening up over there 00:19:17.82\00:19:19.75 and we feel that we cannot do an evangelism series 00:19:19.79\00:19:23.12 without jeopardizing our orphanages 00:19:23.16\00:19:24.99 and everything else we have going on over there. 00:19:25.03\00:19:26.73 And I thought about it and I thought, 00:19:26.76\00:19:28.10 "Well, Jim, what if we do a health series?" 00:19:28.13\00:19:31.37 Jim thought about it for a second, he says, 00:19:31.40\00:19:33.23 "That would work." 00:19:33.27\00:19:34.60 And so I immediately go to Don. 00:19:34.64\00:19:36.64 It just happened, I find out later 00:19:36.67\00:19:38.47 that Don's dad had worked in India 00:19:38.51\00:19:40.74 doing the same type of stuff 00:19:40.78\00:19:42.34 that we were talking about doing and Don's dad was 00:19:42.38\00:19:45.25 a, had a PhD in Public Health. 00:19:45.28\00:19:47.35 Right. 00:19:47.38\00:19:48.72 And then Don is a Public Health nurse 00:19:48.75\00:19:50.09 and it just, I mean, it just... 00:19:50.12\00:19:51.45 You tell him, a match made in heaven. 00:19:51.49\00:19:52.82 Yeah, you just watch. 00:19:52.85\00:19:54.19 When you see Don... 00:19:54.22\00:19:55.56 It's kind of pre-scripted, yeah. 00:19:55.59\00:19:59.03 Excellent. 00:19:59.06\00:20:00.40 You don't really have to do much 00:20:00.43\00:20:02.26 when God wants to do something done, 00:20:02.30\00:20:04.93 except do what He tells you to do. 00:20:04.97\00:20:07.04 I mean it. 00:20:07.07\00:20:08.40 And it's not like 00:20:08.44\00:20:09.77 I went looking to do anything in India. 00:20:09.80\00:20:12.24 Yeah. 00:20:12.27\00:20:13.61 You know, it's just God says, "Hey, we're gonna do this now." 00:20:13.64\00:20:16.24 And okay, we're doing this. Yeah, yeah. 00:20:16.28\00:20:18.78 He's got the missionary credentials 00:20:18.81\00:20:20.65 from missionary families, kind of in the DNA. 00:20:20.68\00:20:22.88 So it's a perfect, I guess it wasn't too hard of a sale 00:20:22.92\00:20:25.69 to kind of bring you on board. 00:20:25.72\00:20:27.06 No, you know, India was in my dad's career 00:20:27.09\00:20:31.76 it was prior to me being born, 00:20:31.79\00:20:33.60 and so I was kind of curious to see India, 00:20:33.63\00:20:35.93 I've never been there. 00:20:35.96\00:20:37.30 I thought dad might like to go back 00:20:37.33\00:20:38.67 and so I called him up, and said, 00:20:38.70\00:20:40.04 "Hey, Dad, so this is what the deal is, 00:20:40.07\00:20:42.74 you wanna go to India?" 00:20:42.77\00:20:44.11 And he said, "Yeah, sure." 00:20:44.14\00:20:47.28 There's the hard sale, yeah. 00:20:47.31\00:20:50.51 Now had this ministry, Ultimate Mission, 00:20:50.55\00:20:52.55 been form yet or it's kind of in the future? 00:20:52.58\00:20:56.12 Ultimate Mission had been formed before that. 00:20:56.15\00:20:58.62 Okay, okay. Yeah. 00:20:58.65\00:20:59.99 We were formed in 2009. 00:21:00.02\00:21:01.36 I think the trip we took was in 2013. 00:21:01.39\00:21:03.79 Okay. 00:21:03.83\00:21:05.16 I'd been to India twice before I went over 00:21:05.19\00:21:07.46 with Dillon Barney Orchard who are now 00:21:07.50\00:21:09.13 with Gospel Outreach. 00:21:09.16\00:21:10.73 And Dillon Barney Orchard had built 00:21:10.77\00:21:12.63 73 churches in India... 00:21:12.67\00:21:14.00 Wow. 00:21:14.04\00:21:15.37 With their own, you know, money, 00:21:15.40\00:21:16.74 and time, and everything. 00:21:16.77\00:21:18.11 And so I went over with them the first time 00:21:18.14\00:21:19.47 and I got a really good tour of India, 00:21:19.51\00:21:21.34 getting a look at all these little villages and everything. 00:21:21.38\00:21:23.78 And then I went over the next year with Jim Rennie 00:21:23.81\00:21:26.68 and Asian Aid to look at their schools. 00:21:26.72\00:21:28.38 And all this time, I'm scouting, 00:21:28.42\00:21:30.45 I'm trying to figure out, "Okay, what can I do? 00:21:30.49\00:21:33.82 What is the ministry or the mission 00:21:33.86\00:21:35.86 that I can have here? 00:21:35.89\00:21:37.23 How can I have an impact here?" 00:21:37.26\00:21:38.69 So you had it in your heart to really start something 00:21:38.73\00:21:40.96 that you could, sort of, kind of, 00:21:41.00\00:21:42.36 get your hands dirty in and work with. 00:21:42.40\00:21:45.30 Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, okay. 00:21:45.33\00:21:48.17 All right, 00:21:48.20\00:21:49.54 so the Ultimate Mission is begun. 00:21:49.57\00:21:53.54 Let's walk through what it is and what it seeks to do? 00:21:53.58\00:21:56.85 Okay, Ultimate Mission is 00:21:56.88\00:21:59.55 an Adventist supporting ministry. 00:21:59.58\00:22:01.65 And the reason we began is we wanted to help 00:22:01.68\00:22:05.22 other Adventists find their mission, 00:22:05.25\00:22:07.29 find their ministry. 00:22:07.32\00:22:08.66 The first thing we did was work with the Oregon Conference 00:22:08.69\00:22:10.93 to do run a lay Bible worker training program. 00:22:10.96\00:22:14.00 And that went really well and then we went on 00:22:14.03\00:22:16.83 to some other projects, I went to India, 00:22:16.87\00:22:19.33 those two trips I told you about, 00:22:19.37\00:22:21.67 and then we got with the Healthy Heart program. 00:22:21.70\00:22:24.64 So it started in 2009, it started to develop, I mean, 00:22:24.67\00:22:28.14 the Healthy Heart program, you had Molly Geddes 00:22:28.18\00:22:30.08 on the show a couple of years ago, 00:22:30.11\00:22:32.35 but she developed cancer and she is the one 00:22:32.38\00:22:34.95 who started the Healthy Heart program. 00:22:34.98\00:22:36.79 She was a nurse, she developed cancer, 00:22:36.82\00:22:38.35 and she conjouled me in taking that ministry overnight, 00:22:38.39\00:22:42.96 didn't want to at first because already had this thing 00:22:42.99\00:22:45.09 with Ultimate Mission, and I was thinking, 00:22:45.13\00:22:47.06 well, I can't do a health ministry 00:22:47.10\00:22:48.66 and this outreach ministry at the same time. 00:22:48.70\00:22:50.20 Yeah. 00:22:50.23\00:22:51.57 But then when they came together, 00:22:51.60\00:22:52.93 I started to realize, you know, what? 00:22:52.97\00:22:54.30 This is the same thing, 00:22:54.34\00:22:55.67 and so we married the programs together. 00:22:55.70\00:22:57.81 So now that is why Ultimate Mission primarily 00:22:57.84\00:23:00.68 right now does health outreach. 00:23:00.71\00:23:03.91 And so then that worked into 00:23:03.95\00:23:06.01 what we're doing in India right now. 00:23:06.05\00:23:08.32 Now you say health outreach, 00:23:08.35\00:23:09.68 so there is a stateside component 00:23:09.72\00:23:12.19 and there is an overseas component. 00:23:12.22\00:23:13.56 Yeah. 00:23:13.59\00:23:14.92 Let's mine the stateside component 00:23:14.96\00:23:16.36 for just a moment. 00:23:16.39\00:23:17.99 You have volunteers that go out and do things, 00:23:18.03\00:23:19.69 walk me through what that part of the ministry is? 00:23:19.73\00:23:22.70 Yeah, so right now one of the biggest health problems 00:23:22.73\00:23:28.00 in US is hypertension. 00:23:28.04\00:23:29.97 If you were to go out any place in America, 00:23:30.01\00:23:34.78 one-third of the people there are pre-hypertensive 00:23:34.81\00:23:38.65 and are gonna have high blood pressure 00:23:38.68\00:23:40.22 in a couple of years. 00:23:40.25\00:23:41.58 One third of the people there already have hypertension 00:23:41.62\00:23:44.42 and they are at increased risk 00:23:44.45\00:23:45.79 for heart attack and an early death. 00:23:45.82\00:23:47.16 Wow. 00:23:47.19\00:23:48.52 So two-thirds of your population 00:23:48.56\00:23:50.03 is affected by hypertension. 00:23:50.06\00:23:52.26 So what we're doing with Healthy Heart 00:23:52.29\00:23:55.20 is we're taking nurses 00:23:55.23\00:23:57.27 who have a real calling to do something, 00:23:57.30\00:24:01.14 that's mostly how nurses are, 00:24:01.17\00:24:02.97 they really want to help people. 00:24:03.00\00:24:05.11 And they are looking around at their community, 00:24:05.14\00:24:07.74 and some of them are getting older and retired, 00:24:07.78\00:24:09.64 they still want to have a hand in helping people out. 00:24:09.68\00:24:11.88 And some of them just feel a need to help 00:24:11.91\00:24:13.58 a little bit more than they are currently doing 00:24:13.62\00:24:15.38 in their lives, 00:24:15.42\00:24:17.19 and so what we do is we set up health assessment screenings. 00:24:17.22\00:24:20.69 We have an agreement with Kroger Foods, 00:24:20.72\00:24:22.79 we can go into Fred Meyer Stores, 00:24:22.82\00:24:25.26 and we just come in with a couple of nurses, 00:24:25.29\00:24:27.86 and a couple of greeters, 00:24:27.90\00:24:29.23 lay people who just want to help people, 00:24:29.26\00:24:31.33 and we'll just ask people if they want to have 00:24:31.37\00:24:33.40 their blood pressure check 00:24:33.44\00:24:34.77 and we'll check their blood pressures 00:24:34.80\00:24:36.14 and we'll talk to them 00:24:36.17\00:24:37.51 about ways to prevent hypertension 00:24:37.54\00:24:38.87 and ways to use just general lifestyle changes 00:24:38.91\00:24:42.51 to manage their hypertension. 00:24:42.54\00:24:45.01 And then we just kind of use that as a bridge program, 00:24:45.05\00:24:47.45 if people are interested in more information, 00:24:47.48\00:24:49.35 they can come to the local church, 00:24:49.38\00:24:50.79 they can get more classes on health. 00:24:50.82\00:24:52.59 We offer programs like Dinner with the Doctor 00:24:52.62\00:24:54.89 where we'll have a doctor come in, 00:24:54.92\00:24:57.06 he'll answer questions, 00:24:57.09\00:24:58.43 he'll maybe give a talk and you can get 00:24:58.46\00:25:00.03 a healthy meal there and get recipes on the food 00:25:00.06\00:25:02.16 that was served. 00:25:02.20\00:25:03.53 Nice. 00:25:03.57\00:25:04.90 And other health programs, you know, 00:25:04.93\00:25:07.00 one of them is we did a lot of our planning 00:25:07.04\00:25:08.77 for Ultimate Mission was we had a mall walking program. 00:25:08.80\00:25:11.74 People get together and then go walk around the mall 00:25:11.77\00:25:14.04 and that's where Jim and I did a lot of our planning 00:25:14.08\00:25:16.61 on what we're gonna do. 00:25:16.64\00:25:17.98 And so we have several churches that are involved, we, 00:25:21.32\00:25:24.65 you know, we'll help with some of the materials they can use, 00:25:24.69\00:25:27.52 with getting them to some of the computerized 00:25:27.56\00:25:29.12 self assessment tools. 00:25:29.16\00:25:31.13 There's a company called Wellsource run by Dr. Don Hall, 00:25:31.16\00:25:36.56 who's invented some great health assessment tools 00:25:36.60\00:25:39.70 to really help people figure out 00:25:39.73\00:25:41.30 what their risk factors are for disease 00:25:41.34\00:25:43.44 and how to manage those. 00:25:43.47\00:25:45.54 So the screenings that you do in the various malls 00:25:45.57\00:25:49.78 and supermarket things, is that done periodically 00:25:49.81\00:25:52.31 on a regular basis? 00:25:52.35\00:25:53.68 How does that function? 00:25:53.72\00:25:55.05 Yeah, most of our churches will run one Sunday a month. 00:25:55.08\00:25:57.59 Okay. 00:25:57.62\00:25:58.95 That's kind of the average 00:25:58.99\00:26:00.32 and they may take it in the couple shifts. 00:26:00.36\00:26:01.69 So people are working, you know, 00:26:01.72\00:26:03.06 two to four hours one Sunday a month, 00:26:03.09\00:26:05.23 that's pretty average. 00:26:05.26\00:26:06.90 Some of our churches might be doing more 00:26:06.93\00:26:08.40 but I think that's about the average 00:26:08.43\00:26:10.33 for the actual screening programs. 00:26:10.37\00:26:12.57 And then, you know, through the regular health ministries 00:26:12.60\00:26:15.84 of the church they'll put on, you know, health programs, 00:26:15.87\00:26:18.17 you know, like... 00:26:18.21\00:26:19.54 So your medical personnel, your nurses, 00:26:19.57\00:26:21.91 they're volunteering their time and the services? 00:26:21.94\00:26:23.61 Yeah, yeah. That is great. 00:26:23.65\00:26:25.01 That is great. 00:26:25.05\00:26:26.38 Do you find or have you found any connection 00:26:26.41\00:26:29.08 as far as the entering wedge of health 00:26:29.12\00:26:31.65 and actually folk ending up coming to the churches? 00:26:31.69\00:26:34.42 Have you seen any pattern 00:26:34.46\00:26:35.82 that this is having that kind of effect? 00:26:35.86\00:26:39.66 You know, one of the difficult things, 00:26:39.69\00:26:42.16 and Jim can talk better than this, 00:26:42.20\00:26:43.80 I've done just a little bit of colporteur work in my life, 00:26:43.83\00:26:47.37 not much but if I'm going door-to-door 00:26:47.40\00:26:51.87 and I'm trying to establish a connection with you, 00:26:51.91\00:26:55.44 that's really, really tough. 00:26:55.48\00:26:58.01 If I meet you in a Fred Meyer Store 00:26:58.05\00:27:00.25 and you sit down in the seat in front of me, 00:27:00.28\00:27:02.22 and I lean forward and I put a blood pressure cuff 00:27:02.25\00:27:04.42 around your arm, and we start talking about 00:27:04.45\00:27:06.99 how you're feeling, I'm right here... 00:27:07.02\00:27:09.22 Yeah. We'll talk about anything. 00:27:09.26\00:27:11.19 Yeah, yeah. 00:27:11.23\00:27:13.06 Sometimes I'm sitting there in a Fred Meyer Store, 00:27:13.09\00:27:15.36 I'm having a conversation for a good half hour 00:27:15.40\00:27:17.57 with somebody I never met. 00:27:17.60\00:27:19.17 You know, 'cause they just open up. 00:27:19.20\00:27:21.10 Yeah, yeah, the other is more of a cold contact 00:27:21.14\00:27:24.61 and one who has tried colporteuring 00:27:24.64\00:27:27.81 or literature evangelism and failed abysmally, 00:27:27.84\00:27:31.81 it's hard. 00:27:31.85\00:27:33.18 First I have a low rejection quotient. 00:27:33.21\00:27:36.08 I don't like having doors slammed on my face. 00:27:36.12\00:27:38.75 But this, they're coming to you and there's a commonality 00:27:38.79\00:27:41.29 because you've gotta service that they want. 00:27:41.32\00:27:43.19 Yeah. 00:27:43.22\00:27:44.56 Well, that in the health risk assessments, 00:27:44.59\00:27:46.90 you're asking 15 different questions 00:27:46.93\00:27:48.90 and we work like, he said, closely with Don Hall, 00:27:48.93\00:27:51.00 Dr. Hall helps us out with this. 00:27:51.03\00:27:52.63 And you're asking 15 questions, now I may have a woman 00:27:52.67\00:27:56.24 in front of me and she is going to tell me 00:27:56.27\00:27:59.07 how much she weighs... 00:27:59.11\00:28:00.44 Yeah. How old she is. 00:28:00.48\00:28:02.18 And if she goes to church, if she visits her kids, 00:28:02.21\00:28:06.01 if she has a husband, 00:28:06.05\00:28:07.38 I'm gonna get some very personal questions. 00:28:07.42\00:28:09.12 Yeah. 00:28:09.15\00:28:10.49 And so with the blood pressure, you walk pass that 00:28:10.52\00:28:12.49 personal space bubble that we all have. 00:28:12.52\00:28:14.99 Agreed, yeah. 00:28:15.02\00:28:16.36 We walk right through that 00:28:16.39\00:28:17.73 and then with the health risk assessment, 00:28:17.76\00:28:19.09 you walk right through that mental bubble. 00:28:19.13\00:28:20.96 Just right now, you're telling me things 00:28:21.00\00:28:22.56 you wouldn't tell your own husband. 00:28:22.60\00:28:24.30 Precisely, yeah. You wouldn't tell him. 00:28:24.33\00:28:26.37 So yeah, the whole thing with health ministry, 00:28:26.40\00:28:29.87 it's not a reaping, it's sowing, 00:28:29.90\00:28:34.41 we're sowing seeds, we're building bonds. 00:28:34.44\00:28:37.91 And that's what Ultimate Mission is about 00:28:37.95\00:28:39.61 is making connections. 00:28:39.65\00:28:41.18 We're making connections with people 00:28:41.22\00:28:42.98 so that eventually we can introduce them 00:28:43.02\00:28:46.65 to the great healer 00:28:46.69\00:28:48.06 'cause that is our ultimate goal. 00:28:48.09\00:28:50.03 Yeah, so obviously 00:28:50.06\00:28:51.39 you're keeping track of the contacts, 00:28:51.43\00:28:52.76 you got names, you got information to kind of, 00:28:52.79\00:28:54.80 to kind of follow up? 00:28:54.83\00:28:56.16 Yeah, when we do health risk assessment, 00:28:56.20\00:28:58.00 we ask them if they like to be on our list of people 00:28:58.03\00:29:00.90 'cause we send out monthly, 00:29:00.94\00:29:02.27 we'll send out newsletter about health, 00:29:02.30\00:29:04.64 and we have health classes and this and that, 00:29:04.67\00:29:06.84 so we put them on our email list. 00:29:06.88\00:29:08.78 And so, yeah, we have contact of anybody 00:29:08.81\00:29:11.75 that would like to be on it. 00:29:11.78\00:29:13.11 Yeah. 00:29:13.15\00:29:14.48 We're not, you know, we're in secular stores 00:29:14.52\00:29:15.85 and stuff so we can't be out really, 00:29:15.88\00:29:18.29 you know, evangelizing and proselytizing 00:29:18.32\00:29:20.99 but we're just, we're helping people 00:29:21.02\00:29:23.39 because we love them. 00:29:23.43\00:29:24.96 And I find that when you just help people 00:29:24.99\00:29:27.43 for the sake of helping people, that's when you become clear. 00:29:27.46\00:29:31.80 People can see through you. 00:29:31.83\00:29:33.80 When people can see through you, 00:29:33.84\00:29:35.30 if you're not there for purpose, 00:29:35.34\00:29:36.81 if you're not there trying to stuff the Bible 00:29:36.84\00:29:38.97 down their throat, 00:29:39.01\00:29:40.34 they can just see you're there because you love them. 00:29:40.38\00:29:42.04 Yeah. 00:29:42.08\00:29:43.41 Then they can see through you, 00:29:43.45\00:29:44.78 that's when they see Jesus Christ. 00:29:44.81\00:29:46.15 Right, and there's time for that, 00:29:46.18\00:29:47.52 I mean, that's gonna come. Yes, absolutely. 00:29:47.55\00:29:48.88 Yeah, but right now, 00:29:48.92\00:29:50.25 you just wanna help for help sake. 00:29:50.29\00:29:51.62 Yes. 00:29:51.65\00:29:52.99 Because that's what good people do. 00:29:53.02\00:29:54.36 Yes. Yeah. 00:29:54.39\00:29:55.72 And we've had a pastor from a nondenominational church 00:29:55.76\00:29:57.93 that started coming and working with the Healthy Heart program, 00:29:57.96\00:30:01.33 and ended up being an Adventist pastor. 00:30:01.36\00:30:03.30 Oh, praise the Lord. 00:30:03.33\00:30:04.67 Praise God. Praise God. 00:30:04.70\00:30:06.67 In the health mission, the health, kind of, 00:30:06.70\00:30:09.80 gospel health is probably the best way to describe it. 00:30:09.84\00:30:12.27 The thing about it is if everybody who is alive 00:30:15.28\00:30:18.41 was in an Adventist church, then you could do 00:30:18.45\00:30:22.32 all your health work there at the Adventist church. 00:30:22.35\00:30:25.92 But as long as there's people 00:30:25.95\00:30:27.29 who are not in an Adventist church, 00:30:27.32\00:30:30.23 you can't afford to have everybody who knows 00:30:30.26\00:30:32.19 about health being in an Adventist church. 00:30:32.23\00:30:34.43 It's okay if you meet some of them in a Fred Meyer 00:30:34.46\00:30:37.20 and they go to another church, take it with them, you know. 00:30:37.23\00:30:40.87 And I think, you know, whether you're talking 00:30:40.90\00:30:43.47 about gospel health, Bible gospel, 00:30:43.51\00:30:46.54 whatever, you know, 00:30:46.57\00:30:48.44 we can do everything with the impetus 00:30:48.48\00:30:52.85 that everyone we touch is gotta come to our church 00:30:52.88\00:30:54.95 and that's fine. 00:30:54.98\00:30:56.32 You know, I've been an Adventist all my life 00:30:56.35\00:30:57.75 'cause it makes my life better. 00:30:57.79\00:30:59.12 Yeah. 00:30:59.15\00:31:00.49 You know, but as long as there's people 00:31:00.52\00:31:01.86 who are out there, I don't so much care 00:31:01.89\00:31:04.53 if they're coming to my church right now, 00:31:04.56\00:31:06.36 they'll come later when they are ready. 00:31:06.39\00:31:07.73 Sure, yeah. 00:31:07.76\00:31:09.10 I'd rather have them out there at their church 00:31:09.13\00:31:10.47 telling people things that I can't tell them 00:31:10.50\00:31:12.77 'cause I'm not there. 00:31:12.80\00:31:14.77 Honestly true. 00:31:14.80\00:31:16.14 Now you said Fred Meyer, I know Kroger, 00:31:16.17\00:31:17.84 Kroger's Midwest and I think west, I'm an east coast guy. 00:31:17.87\00:31:20.84 Yeah. 00:31:20.88\00:31:22.21 All my ministry in New York City, 00:31:22.24\00:31:23.58 we don't have Kroger, and we sure 00:31:23.61\00:31:24.95 don't have Fred Meyer, 00:31:24.98\00:31:26.31 that's the supermarket chain I suspect. 00:31:26.35\00:31:27.68 Right, it's northwest. Yes. 00:31:27.72\00:31:29.05 Well, it's more than supermarket, it, 00:31:29.08\00:31:30.69 what is it you'll find it at Fred Meyer, I mean, 00:31:30.72\00:31:33.25 it's a one stop shopping place. 00:31:33.29\00:31:34.66 Oh, I've been to. 00:31:34.69\00:31:36.02 Yeah, yeah, there they have clothing 00:31:36.06\00:31:37.39 and then they got kind of like, yeah, yeah, okay, okay, okay. 00:31:37.43\00:31:39.93 It's kind of like Walmart's but different. 00:31:39.96\00:31:43.10 Yeah, so you're able to contact them 00:31:43.13\00:31:45.27 and they allow you to come and do this? 00:31:45.30\00:31:47.20 Molly Geddes did this 00:31:47.24\00:31:48.87 and that was a miracle in itself 00:31:48.90\00:31:50.54 because since then I've tried to contact Walmart to see 00:31:50.57\00:31:53.11 if we'd come in through there, and I'm telling you, 00:31:53.14\00:31:55.41 the firewall for you getting into 00:31:55.44\00:31:57.48 some of these places is thick. 00:31:57.51\00:31:59.45 Yeah. 00:31:59.48\00:32:00.82 And so just being able to be in these places 00:32:00.85\00:32:04.19 where we can reach the general public, 00:32:04.22\00:32:05.89 I mean, we'll reach 50 depend on the hours we work, 00:32:05.92\00:32:09.26 we reached 50 to 100 people a day 00:32:09.29\00:32:11.26 that we would personally touch and talk to them. 00:32:11.29\00:32:13.93 And so it's just an amazing way to reaching your community... 00:32:13.96\00:32:16.90 Sure. 00:32:16.93\00:32:18.27 And let your community care, know that you love them. 00:32:18.30\00:32:20.54 I mean, there's a question, 00:32:20.57\00:32:21.90 I can't remember who asked this question 00:32:21.94\00:32:23.47 but if the Adventist church, 00:32:23.51\00:32:24.97 if your church was no longer is, 00:32:25.01\00:32:27.58 if the wind came and blew it away, okay, 00:32:27.61\00:32:29.24 your church is no longer there, would anybody notice? 00:32:29.28\00:32:31.45 Yeah, you know who asked that question? 00:32:31.48\00:32:33.18 I did. That's my question. Was that your question? 00:32:33.21\00:32:34.92 That's my question. Well, praise God. 00:32:34.95\00:32:37.09 That was a great question. That's my question. 00:32:37.12\00:32:38.55 I'm cool, well, then I'm sorry, 00:32:38.59\00:32:39.92 I didn't even know it. Thank you for asking that. 00:32:39.95\00:32:42.92 If the church was no longer there, 00:32:42.96\00:32:44.29 would anybody notice? 00:32:44.33\00:32:45.66 Would anybody care? Right. 00:32:45.69\00:32:47.03 Yeah. 00:32:47.06\00:32:48.40 In Gladstone, people would know. 00:32:48.43\00:32:49.76 We get people come back to us almost every week 00:32:49.80\00:32:52.23 the time we're at Fred Meyer. 00:32:52.27\00:32:53.60 We got people come back to us and say, "You know, what? 00:32:53.64\00:32:55.87 My doctor wanted me to tell you, thank you. 00:32:55.90\00:32:58.27 Great. You probably saved my life. 00:32:58.31\00:32:59.81 Yeah, yeah. 00:32:59.84\00:33:01.18 And people come back almost every time we're there 00:33:01.21\00:33:02.81 and tell us how thankful they are 00:33:02.84\00:33:04.91 that we helped them up because 30% of the people 00:33:04.95\00:33:07.52 we checkup high blood pressure and don't know it. 00:33:07.55\00:33:10.42 I mean, even if you think nowadays 00:33:10.45\00:33:11.92 you can buy the blood pressure checks for 40 bucks. 00:33:11.95\00:33:14.12 Yeah, yeah. But they don't know it. 00:33:14.16\00:33:17.36 Yeah, praise the Lord. 00:33:17.39\00:33:18.73 And well, there was the guy last week, 160 over 110? 00:33:18.76\00:33:22.46 That's up there. Yeah. 00:33:22.50\00:33:23.83 Yeah, that is up there. 00:33:23.87\00:33:25.83 That, first of all must be rewarding 00:33:25.87\00:33:27.87 and even if the fact that every contact 00:33:27.90\00:33:31.11 does not lead to a splash in a baptismal pool. 00:33:31.14\00:33:34.21 The fact that you've sown seeds 00:33:34.24\00:33:36.41 and you've put out goodness out there, 00:33:36.44\00:33:38.41 and when you put goodness out, 00:33:38.45\00:33:39.78 it's gonna come back. 00:33:39.81\00:33:41.15 Somewhere somehow it's gonna come back. 00:33:41.18\00:33:42.52 And the fact that you're able 00:33:42.55\00:33:43.89 to get into a large chain like that 00:33:43.92\00:33:46.05 'cause I know that, particularly in the east coast 00:33:46.09\00:33:48.19 stores are very leery about partnering 00:33:48.22\00:33:50.43 even with something as good as yours, 00:33:50.46\00:33:53.50 if it comes through a religious kind of funnel... 00:33:53.53\00:33:55.60 Right. 00:33:55.63\00:33:56.97 They don't want to commit themselves. 00:33:57.00\00:33:59.53 So the fact that you've gotten 00:33:59.57\00:34:00.90 into two fairly good sized chains 00:34:00.94\00:34:02.44 is a good thing. 00:34:02.47\00:34:04.04 Yeah. 00:34:04.07\00:34:05.41 And, you know, we're straight up with them. 00:34:05.44\00:34:06.94 They know we are Adventist, but we don't proselytize there. 00:34:06.98\00:34:09.71 And we're there because we love people, 00:34:09.74\00:34:12.41 we're there because we want to help people 00:34:12.45\00:34:13.78 and they know that. 00:34:13.82\00:34:15.15 We've been going, you know, here's another miracle, 00:34:15.18\00:34:16.79 we've been doing this since 2007 00:34:16.82\00:34:19.05 in Fred Meyer stores. 00:34:19.09\00:34:20.42 Praise the Lord. 00:34:20.46\00:34:21.79 And we have not had one compliant. 00:34:21.82\00:34:23.39 Amen. 00:34:23.43\00:34:24.76 And there's nothing you can do since 2007 00:34:24.79\00:34:27.33 and not get one complaint. 00:34:27.36\00:34:29.83 There's nothing I could do in a week 00:34:29.86\00:34:31.20 and not get one complaint. 00:34:31.23\00:34:33.13 And so that's a miracle in itself because just, 00:34:33.17\00:34:36.91 you know, militant atheist, the first militant atheist 00:34:36.94\00:34:39.97 that goes to the Fred Meyer management were cut out. 00:34:40.01\00:34:42.74 Yeah. We're done. 00:34:42.78\00:34:44.11 Sure, yeah. 00:34:44.15\00:34:45.48 And so it just to me God has opened this door up 00:34:45.51\00:34:48.85 for us to reach into the communities 00:34:48.88\00:34:51.49 and to talk to people and to help people and just, 00:34:51.52\00:34:55.06 like I say, show them we love them. 00:34:55.09\00:34:56.89 Yeah, yeah. That's the key. 00:34:56.93\00:34:58.26 Yeah, it's a simple and powerful thing. 00:34:58.29\00:34:59.63 Let me ask how big is your stable of practitioners 00:34:59.66\00:35:02.70 that you sort of work with, your nurses and the people 00:35:02.73\00:35:05.47 that go out with you? 00:35:05.50\00:35:06.84 Boy, I don't know, we probably have about 14 churches 00:35:06.87\00:35:08.90 but how many volunteers, I don't know. 00:35:08.94\00:35:12.64 It would be better than a hundred, you know, 00:35:12.67\00:35:15.58 I've never really counted because every church 00:35:15.61\00:35:17.91 had run its own program, and they have 00:35:17.95\00:35:21.15 a stable of volunteers in that program. 00:35:21.18\00:35:23.52 You know, just in our program alone, 00:35:23.55\00:35:25.42 I looked at the nametags the other day of all the people 00:35:25.45\00:35:28.02 that have been and helped us out. 00:35:28.06\00:35:29.89 We probably have 30, 40 nametags for our program. 00:35:29.92\00:35:34.66 So if you wanna multiply that by 13, 14 churches, yeah, 00:35:34.70\00:35:40.07 we're well almost to 200. 00:35:40.10\00:35:41.94 Yeah. 00:35:41.97\00:35:43.30 I mean, you can talk about the success of the program 00:35:43.34\00:35:46.27 in relation to how many people didn't know 00:35:46.31\00:35:48.64 they have hypertension 00:35:48.68\00:35:50.01 and then we're able to do something about it. 00:35:50.05\00:35:51.85 But there's another component, I mean, 00:35:51.88\00:35:54.22 if you're an introvert like me, your favorite thing to do 00:35:54.25\00:35:57.85 is not to walk up to a stranger and say, 00:35:57.89\00:35:59.82 "Hi, would you like your blood pressure checked?" 00:35:59.85\00:36:03.59 And it's sometimes difficult for people 00:36:03.63\00:36:06.59 to get past their own personal bubble 00:36:06.63\00:36:09.26 of being able to talk to somebody else. 00:36:09.30\00:36:10.93 Yeah. 00:36:10.97\00:36:12.30 And I'll tell you after you've been standing 00:36:12.33\00:36:13.67 in Fred Meyer every Sunday for a few months 00:36:13.70\00:36:16.37 and everyone who goes by, you ask him, 00:36:16.40\00:36:18.97 "Hi, you want your blood pressure checked?" 00:36:19.01\00:36:20.98 It goes a long way to helping you overcome 00:36:21.01\00:36:23.88 that reluctance to talk to other people. 00:36:23.91\00:36:27.15 It had not only benefits for your own personal ministry 00:36:27.18\00:36:32.75 with people but sure, it helped me on my career. 00:36:32.79\00:36:37.83 Well, amen. 00:36:37.86\00:36:39.19 And then too you've got a commodity, 00:36:39.23\00:36:40.76 you've got a service that people want, 00:36:40.80\00:36:42.66 so there's area of commonalities, 00:36:42.70\00:36:44.47 it's not like you're trying to sell them something 00:36:44.50\00:36:45.87 or even give them something. 00:36:45.90\00:36:47.24 They are coming to you because you've got something 00:36:47.27\00:36:48.74 that they need and that they want, yeah. 00:36:48.77\00:36:52.04 The amazing part is a lot of people do think that, 00:36:52.07\00:36:54.64 I mean, people are so skeptical 00:36:54.68\00:36:56.81 that they always think there's a hook. 00:36:56.85\00:36:58.71 What's the hook? Yeah. 00:40:56.02\00:40:57.35 A simple program 00:40:57.39\00:40:58.72 that has great community results. 00:40:58.75\00:41:00.09 And we're basically just teaching 00:41:00.12\00:41:02.36 the Adventist health message. 00:41:02.39\00:41:03.73 Yeah, yeah. 00:41:03.76\00:41:05.09 The eight laws of health, I mean, 00:41:05.13\00:41:06.46 we are not prescribing medications, 00:41:06.49\00:41:08.00 we are not making diagnosis. 00:41:08.03\00:41:09.90 And matter of fact we can't, we shouldn't. 00:41:09.93\00:41:11.60 Right. 00:41:11.63\00:41:12.97 But what we're doing is just talking about 00:41:13.00\00:41:14.34 healthy lifestyles, so... 00:41:14.37\00:41:16.77 Oh, you know, our crack team here 00:41:16.81\00:41:20.48 has reminded, we got two video rolls. 00:41:20.51\00:41:22.38 And one of them kind of sets up what this program is. 00:41:22.41\00:41:25.38 Let's go to that one just now. 00:41:25.41\00:41:27.32 And thanks, guys, you're making me look good. 00:41:27.35\00:41:30.12 Praise the Lord. 00:41:30.15\00:41:31.49 Let's go to that first roll, 'cause this kind of gives us 00:41:31.52\00:41:33.59 an overview of what you are doing. 00:41:33.62\00:41:36.02 We'll look at that just now. 00:41:36.06\00:41:37.39 Hello, my name is James Reynolds 00:41:54.91\00:41:56.64 and I am the President of Ultimate Mission 00:41:56.68\00:41:59.95 which is the manager for Healthy Heart India, 00:41:59.98\00:42:02.78 and Healthy Heart USA, and Healthy Heart Honduras. 00:42:02.82\00:42:05.99 As I was going through India, 00:42:09.22\00:42:10.73 I was kind of scouting things out. 00:42:10.76\00:42:12.69 And I was looking at how can we do the most 00:42:12.73\00:42:15.36 with what we have. 00:42:15.40\00:42:16.90 With the few people that we've got 00:42:16.93\00:42:18.53 with the small amount of funds that we have, 00:42:18.57\00:42:20.74 how can we make the most happen in this country 00:42:20.77\00:42:23.30 of 1.2 billion people in it. 00:42:23.34\00:42:25.84 God dropped this idea in our lap, 00:42:25.87\00:42:28.34 this idea to hire pastors' wives to become 00:42:28.38\00:42:31.31 and teach them to be medical missionaries 00:42:31.35\00:42:33.25 so that they can help the children 00:42:33.28\00:42:34.98 and the children can then grow up knowing 00:42:35.02\00:42:36.85 how to wash your hands, drink clean water, 00:42:36.89\00:42:39.39 and possibly change the way the whole country is living. 00:42:39.42\00:42:44.73 All right, we're getting ready to go to a village, 00:42:44.76\00:42:46.63 we're gonna do some outreach show. 00:42:46.66\00:42:48.80 And so it's now had come to this, 00:42:57.37\00:42:59.14 we're on our third year, 00:42:59.17\00:43:00.51 we have 70 women that we just trained. 00:43:00.54\00:43:02.78 These women, they're getting a stipend, 00:43:02.81\00:43:04.78 they're getting some education, and they're helping people out, 00:43:04.81\00:43:08.42 and it's just empowering these women. 00:43:08.45\00:43:11.55 A women will do six to eight visits a day, 00:43:11.59\00:43:14.36 five days a week. 00:43:14.39\00:43:16.32 Right now, we are on track this year 00:43:16.36\00:43:18.26 to do over 100, 000 health visits. 00:43:18.29\00:43:21.80 We were told that 00:43:21.83\00:43:23.16 this is the right arm of the ministry 00:43:23.20\00:43:24.77 where no other ministry work, 00:43:24.80\00:43:26.80 where no other type of evangelism will work, 00:43:26.84\00:43:29.60 the health message will work, 00:43:29.64\00:43:31.04 and right now that is being proven true, 00:43:31.07\00:43:33.91 truer than you can ever imagine. 00:43:33.94\00:43:35.61 All right, really good. 00:43:41.85\00:43:43.18 We kind of got stuck stateside 00:43:43.22\00:43:46.19 and then get a chance to talk about 00:43:46.22\00:43:47.56 what you're doing overseas which is a great work. 00:43:47.59\00:43:49.92 Let's walk through that, this idea of training, 00:43:49.96\00:43:51.99 is it pastor's wives or walk me through that, 00:43:52.03\00:43:54.73 that whole thing? 00:43:54.76\00:43:56.10 Well, in India, Bible workers are called, 00:43:56.13\00:43:59.33 well, I call them pastors 00:43:59.37\00:44:00.70 'cause they pastor five churches. 00:44:00.74\00:44:02.14 So to me, although the Indians may call them Bible workers, 00:44:02.17\00:44:04.67 I call them pastors, 00:44:04.71\00:44:06.04 they're pastoring five churches. 00:44:06.07\00:44:07.41 And so we started, we went over there 00:44:07.44\00:44:10.81 and we trained gospel outreach workers at first. 00:44:10.85\00:44:13.65 And these men would go out and do health missionary work 00:44:13.68\00:44:18.55 along with their other stuff that they did. 00:44:18.59\00:44:21.16 But we started to realize after a story 00:44:21.19\00:44:23.49 where a guy trained his wife and he trained her 00:44:23.53\00:44:26.49 out of the book we gave them called, 00:44:26.53\00:44:27.86 "Where There is No Doctor". 00:44:27.90\00:44:29.40 And he trained his wife the same things 00:44:29.43\00:44:31.07 we had trained him. 00:44:31.10\00:44:32.43 She read this book and one day they're coming home 00:44:32.47\00:44:35.20 and they see a group of people on the side of the road 00:44:35.24\00:44:37.37 and they pull over to see what's going on 00:44:37.41\00:44:38.74 with this group of people and there's a lady 00:44:38.77\00:44:40.64 in the middle of the group of people, 00:44:40.68\00:44:42.01 that's in labor having a baby. 00:44:42.04\00:44:43.81 Well, this woman after reading this book went 00:44:43.85\00:44:47.08 and delivered that baby right there in the mud, 00:44:47.12\00:44:49.28 and the dirt, and the rain on the side of the road. 00:44:49.32\00:44:51.62 And Don and I were talking about this 00:44:51.65\00:44:53.56 and some of the other stories coming back, we're thinking, 00:44:53.59\00:44:56.02 we're training the wrong people. 00:44:56.06\00:44:57.96 We need to be training the women, not the men. 00:44:57.99\00:45:00.33 Yeah, yeah. 00:45:00.36\00:45:01.70 And, you know, one of the other problem 00:45:01.73\00:45:03.06 is the gospel outreach workers, 00:45:03.10\00:45:04.90 they don't make a whole lot of money. 00:45:04.93\00:45:06.60 And so it's hard to keep them in churches 00:45:06.63\00:45:09.30 'cause they have to go do other jobs 00:45:09.34\00:45:10.74 in order to keep their family alive. 00:45:10.77\00:45:12.71 Sure. 00:45:12.74\00:45:14.08 So we were trying to figure out, 00:45:14.11\00:45:15.44 well, how do we help that? 00:45:15.48\00:45:16.81 And so when we hired their wives 00:45:16.85\00:45:18.55 to be medical missionaries, 00:45:18.58\00:45:19.91 we pay them 2,000 rupees a month. 00:45:19.95\00:45:22.72 We basically doubled the wage of that pastoral family 00:45:22.75\00:45:26.96 which helps keep the churches open, 00:45:26.99\00:45:28.72 which gives this pastoral family 00:45:28.76\00:45:31.76 food and everything. 00:45:31.79\00:45:33.13 I mean, we get a lot of letters from these ladies telling us 00:45:33.16\00:45:35.60 how this is really helping their family to survive 00:45:35.63\00:45:38.27 which is really touching. 00:45:38.30\00:45:40.04 But so we started training the women and the neat thing, 00:45:40.07\00:45:43.91 the women carry the food, they carry the water. 00:45:43.94\00:45:46.01 The women fix the food, 00:45:46.04\00:45:47.38 the women take care of the children. 00:45:47.41\00:45:49.64 And if the children can learn to wash their hands, 00:45:49.68\00:45:52.35 drink clean water when they're young, 00:45:52.38\00:45:54.82 they can grow up and you can start helping 00:45:54.85\00:45:59.19 that whole society to become cleaner, 00:45:59.22\00:46:02.02 better, healthier. 00:46:02.06\00:46:03.39 Although, it's a wonderful society, 00:46:03.43\00:46:04.76 I don't want to say that wrong but it just, 00:46:04.79\00:46:07.43 The World Health Organization said 00:46:07.46\00:46:09.33 that if you could teach children 00:46:09.36\00:46:11.43 to wash your hands and drink clean water, 00:46:11.47\00:46:13.67 you could save half the children 00:46:13.70\00:46:15.54 that die every day in India. 00:46:15.57\00:46:17.47 Around 4,000 children die under the age of five 00:46:17.51\00:46:20.48 every day in India. 00:46:20.51\00:46:21.84 Wow. 00:46:21.88\00:46:23.21 If you can teach them to wash their hands 00:46:23.24\00:46:24.58 and drink clean water, you could... 00:46:24.61\00:46:25.95 From preventable stuff and then yeah... 00:46:25.98\00:46:27.32 Easy preventable stuff, yes. Yeah, yeah, that's powerful. 00:46:27.35\00:46:29.58 Don, you have some little toys there 00:46:29.62\00:46:31.62 that we want to talk about it 00:46:31.65\00:46:32.99 'cause this works into that idea 00:46:33.02\00:46:35.46 that Jim is talking about. 00:46:35.49\00:46:36.83 Yeah, I don't know 00:46:36.86\00:46:38.19 how all this will show up on TV, it's kind of small. 00:46:38.23\00:46:40.40 This is called a WAPI, 00:46:40.43\00:46:42.83 that's short for Water Pasteurization Indicator. 00:46:42.86\00:46:46.17 So normally, when you're talking about 00:46:46.20\00:46:48.07 purifying water... 00:46:48.10\00:46:49.44 Hold it still and see if they can find it, 00:46:49.47\00:46:50.81 there you go. 00:46:50.84\00:46:53.27 What you do is you boil the water. 00:46:53.31\00:46:56.38 But water is actually safe to drink when it's pasteurized. 00:46:56.41\00:47:00.22 So water will boil somewhere around 200 degrees, 00:47:00.25\00:47:03.42 it'll get pasteurized a little bit over 140. 00:47:03.45\00:47:06.82 And what this is, this little wax here 00:47:06.86\00:47:10.03 is engineered to melt at just a little bit 00:47:10.06\00:47:13.26 over the temperature at which water pasteurizes 00:47:13.29\00:47:15.86 and it's safe to drink. 00:47:15.90\00:47:17.33 So when you're living hand to mouth, 00:47:17.37\00:47:19.03 and you have no real budget, buying gas 00:47:19.07\00:47:22.54 or collecting wood to heat water is a big deal. 00:47:22.57\00:47:25.77 And the less fuel you can use to heat water 00:47:25.81\00:47:27.94 to make it safe to drink the better. 00:47:27.98\00:47:30.55 The other thing that happens is that when you boil water, 00:47:30.58\00:47:33.55 you kind of boil some of the oxygen down a bit 00:47:33.58\00:47:35.68 and it loses some of its flavor. 00:47:35.72\00:47:37.69 So it tastes a lot better to drink 00:47:37.72\00:47:39.19 when it's pasteurized 00:47:39.22\00:47:40.56 and the lot of reason why we do the things 00:47:40.59\00:47:42.12 we do 'cause things tastes good. 00:47:42.16\00:47:43.69 You know, none of us goes to the store 00:47:43.73\00:47:45.99 and eats the chocolate cake 'cause it's good for us. 00:47:46.03\00:47:50.00 And, so people are more likely to drink water 00:47:50.03\00:47:52.43 if it tastes better and they're more likely 00:47:52.47\00:47:54.57 to heat water and make it safe to drink 00:47:54.60\00:47:56.44 if they can spend less money on fuel doing it. 00:47:56.47\00:47:59.57 So this is made of a bullet proof glass, 00:47:59.61\00:48:01.64 this has a lifetime of probably several generations, 00:48:01.68\00:48:04.31 very, very simple. 00:48:04.35\00:48:05.68 That'll be around for a while. Yeah, very, very simple. 00:48:05.71\00:48:08.22 Very cheap. 00:48:08.25\00:48:09.62 This is one of the tools that we use over there quite a bit, 00:48:09.65\00:48:13.42 teach people this one. 00:48:13.46\00:48:15.59 This one is pretty new. 00:48:15.62\00:48:16.96 I'm gonna let Jim talk about this one 00:48:16.99\00:48:18.59 'cause he's really the one who kind of pioneered, 00:48:18.63\00:48:20.40 this is more arsenal. 00:48:20.43\00:48:21.76 You kinda hold it up so they can find it. 00:48:21.80\00:48:23.13 There you go. 00:48:23.16\00:48:24.50 So this is a MadiDrop, it's six ounce ceramic tablet. 00:48:24.53\00:48:27.20 And this six ounce ceramic tablet is infused 00:48:27.24\00:48:29.80 with silver, silver ions. 00:48:29.84\00:48:32.24 So what you do is you put 00:48:32.27\00:48:33.61 two and half gallons of water in a pail, 00:48:33.64\00:48:36.18 in a container of some sort, 00:48:36.21\00:48:37.78 and you drop this in and in 12 to 24 hours 00:48:37.81\00:48:40.38 depending on the contamination of the water, 00:48:40.42\00:48:42.08 the water's safe to drink. 00:48:42.12\00:48:43.45 Wow. 00:48:43.49\00:48:44.82 So one of the things that we find hard is, you know, 00:48:44.85\00:48:47.62 sometimes in India, they don't put 00:48:47.66\00:48:48.99 two and two together as far as the water 00:48:49.02\00:48:50.63 is what's making me sick. 00:48:50.66\00:48:51.99 So they don't put a lot of effort 00:48:52.03\00:48:53.36 into getting clean water. 00:48:53.40\00:48:54.73 What this does is it makes clean water 00:48:54.76\00:48:57.40 without a whole lot of effort. 00:48:57.43\00:48:58.77 Yeah, yeah. 00:48:58.80\00:49:00.14 And it works for six months. Oh, wow. 00:49:00.17\00:49:01.87 It basically can make five gallons of water a day 00:49:01.90\00:49:04.01 for six months, if the water isn't too contaminated, 00:49:04.04\00:49:06.31 if it's really contaminated, these be in 24 hours. 00:49:06.34\00:49:09.08 But, I mean and you can put it on your shelf 00:49:09.11\00:49:12.18 and it will last for a lifetime. 00:49:12.21\00:49:14.05 I mean, this will last for 100 years. 00:49:14.08\00:49:15.85 So this will do it for you. 00:49:15.88\00:49:17.95 Say, okay, we have a bucket of water, 00:49:17.99\00:49:20.22 we put that in today, we drink that water, 00:49:20.26\00:49:22.16 we put that on a shelf, 00:49:22.19\00:49:23.53 can I put it in another bucket of water 00:49:23.56\00:49:24.89 and it will work just as well? 00:49:24.93\00:49:26.26 Yes. For how long? 00:49:26.29\00:49:27.63 Six months. Okay. 00:49:27.66\00:49:29.00 For six months. Yeah. 00:49:29.03\00:49:30.37 Is that an expensive thing? No, it's not that expensive. 00:49:30.40\00:49:33.77 Matter of fact, we get it at a reduced rate 00:49:33.80\00:49:36.97 because we buy them in bulk. 00:49:37.01\00:49:38.77 And we've just been okay to sell them 00:49:38.81\00:49:40.24 to the general public which is great 00:49:40.28\00:49:41.91 because all the money goes 00:49:41.94\00:49:43.28 towards sponsoring our ministry. 00:49:43.31\00:49:44.91 Okay. 00:49:44.95\00:49:46.28 About 14.95, and you can have one those 00:49:46.31\00:49:48.12 and it's insurance policy that if something happened 00:49:48.15\00:49:51.39 and you needed fresh water out of that slew down there, 00:49:51.42\00:49:54.02 you could get the water out of the slew and... 00:49:54.06\00:49:57.26 Work it.
