that it's about a person,

We fall short of the
glory or the character of God

and therefore there is sin.

And He is the standard,

His laws and inscription
of His own character.

And when I think
about being a sinner,

I think about
someone that has a propensity

towards things that are
filled with character flaws.

You mention the idea that

we must look into the
perfect law of liberty

before we can be
converted thereby.

But what I also think about

is that there are
people that are in this world

that have been deceived.

They have no idea
that they are a sinner,

they don't know what sin is.

As a matter of fact, a
lot of people will say,

"Well, I'm a good person."

And what is their
standard? Themselves.

Yeah, it's themselves,
00:10:46.07\00:10:47.41
it's maybe the
people they are around,
00:10:47.44\00:10:48.78
it's the idea that
they maybe keep the law
00:10:48.81\00:10:50.85
so that they can keep
some semblance of peace.

But at the same time
they don't see their need,

their own personal need.

And then there are
others that maybe are caught up

and deceived by other religions
or other pursuits in this world

that seem to fulfill the
needs that they sense they have,

but in the end it
will leave them empty.

It doesn't,
somehow they fall short

of what they
really are pursuing.

And there are even those
that don't recognize their need

that can be in the church.

Attempting to maybe
earn their way to heaven,

earn their own salvation
by attempting to be like God

as they get glimpses of Him

but not fully understanding
His call in their lives,

sometimes were even in
a position of leadership,

and this can happen.

As a matter of fact it
was a number of years ago

I heard a testimony

from someone, it
was a public testimony,

they were
actually a union president

and they said that they
had gone through the seminary,

they had been a pastor,

they had been a
conference president

before they were converted.

For they did
not truly understand

their condition of heart

actually causes us

the Lord of my life,"

and the convicting
power of God touched my heart,

I'd been in
church my whole life.

I again did the do's if
you'd asked me I wasn't.

I remember one
time a pastor said

if you've made Jesus
Christ the Lord of your life,
