surprise you 05:37 when you know that more people in the world 05:39 have heard the word coco-cola than the name of Jesus Christ, 05:43 an indictment to the church. 05:46 In the world of over seven billion people, 05:49 almost half living countries 05:51 where there is little or no access to the gospel. 05:56 And it's surprising to know that 05:59 almost 90% of Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists 06:05 do not know even one Christian. 06:09 Most of us 06:11 heard the name of Jesus as a baby 06:14 in the arms of our mother 06:15 who is saying, "Jesus loves me this I know..." 06:19 And we have known it for so long 06:21 that in so many cases, 06:23 it's become just a common place to us. 06:26 We just take it for granted. 06:28 I'm reminded of the little Chinese lady 06:30 that heard about a gospel revival, 06:34 and so she went and she heard about Jesus 06:36 and she was so excited, she gave her life to Him. 06:40 And was on her way back home, 06:43 a 20 mile walk back to her house. 06:46 And she forgot His name 06:51 and she wanted to be reminded of the name. 06:54 She walked back to where the gospel tent was. 06:57 And she went to the missionary 06:58 and she said, "Please, tell me His name again. 07:01 I have forgotten His name. 07:04 I want God to give us a fresh revival 07:08 and love for that cherishing. 07:11 The Bible says, "There is no other name 07:13 given under heaven whereby men must be saved." 07:16 And more than ever before, Lord I want us to... 07:21 Cherish that beautiful name 07:27 Cherish that wonderful name 07:34 Cherish that matchless name 07:41 That name is Jesus 07:47 Cherish that beautiful name 07:54 Cherish that wonderful name 08:00 Cherish that matchless name 08:07 That name is Jesus 08:14 Jesus, Jesus 08:22 He means all the world 08:27 kingdoms of my heart. 10:29 Yes. 10:30 The first time 10:32 I visited St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome, Italy, 10:35 I was overwhelmed. 10:37 This is the largest cathedral in the world. 10:40 Inside will hold 86,000 people, think about it. 10:44 On the outside in the basilica, it will hold 450,000 people. 10:50 From the floor to the top of the dome, 10:54 it's longer than a football field. 10:59 They have a line in the middle of the church, 11:01 this shows where other arch cathedrals 11:03 in the world fall, fall short of St. Peter's Cathedral. 11:07 Supposedly, St. Peter is buried underneath. 11:13 Well, I stood there, statues overlaid with gold. 11:17 They are just... 11:18 Everything was just so massive, 11:22 Michelangelo's masterpiece. 11:25 So the little boy in me stood there 11:29 and asked the question, 11:32 "How can heaven possibly outdo this?" 11:36 Well, the adult in me quickly stopped the little boy 11:41 before we got to any kind of answer 11:43 and simply said, oh, be reminded the scripture says, 11:48 "I have not seen, either hath not heard 11:51 what the Son of man hath prepared for me." 11:54 I'm telling you, I stood there 11:56 right in the middle of St. Peter's Cathedral, 12:00 and the Lord gave me this song about... 12:02 Heaven, I've had a little taste of heaven 12:06 I've had a little touch of heaven 12:10 I've had a little glimpse of heaven 12:12 Amen. 19:41 Well, I grew up in the city. 19:43 And as a teenager, 19:45 we would get to spend two weeks at my grandmother's house 19:48 in Laurelville, Ohio at Grandma Edward's house. 19:52 The bedroom that I slept in had a plaque on the wall, 19:56 looked like a junior high C student painted it. 19:59 But it was on the wall 20:00 and it simply said, 20:02 "Only one life, twill soon be past, 20:04 only what's done for Christ will last." 20:06 And so I would see that plaque every night 20:09 before I go to bed. 20:10 And so I stopped going to the country 20:13 because I wasn't a teenager anymore. 20:15 But I can never get away from what that plaque said 20:18 until 20 years later, 20:21 the Lord gave me a song called, 20:23 "Only one life", just in time to sing it for my grandma, 20:26 Lillian Edwards' funeral. 20:28 "Only one life", it's very special. 20:33 It matters so little 20:37 How much you may own 20:42 The places you've been 20:46 Or the people you've known 20:51 For it all comes to nothing 20:55 When placed at His feet 21:00 It's nothing to Jesus 21:04 Just memories to keep 21:11 Only one life 21:15 So soon it will pass 21:20 Only what's done 21:24 For Christ will last 21:28 Only one chance 21:32 To do His will 21:36 So give to Jesus all your days 21:40 It's the only life that pays 21:45 When you recall 21:47 You have but one life 21:53 You may take all the treasures 21:58 From far away lands 22:04 Take all the riches 22:08 You can hold in your hands 22:14 Take all the pleasures 22:18 Your money can buy 22:23 But what will you have 22:27 When it's your time to die 22:35 The days pass so swiftly 22:40 The months come and go 22:45 The years melt away 22:50 Like new falling snow 22:55 Spring turns to summer 23:00 Summer to fall 23:04 Autumn brings winter 23:08 Then death comes to call 23:14 Only one life 23:18 So soon it will pass 23:23 Only what's done 23:27 For Christ will last 23:31 Only one chance 23:35 To do His will 23:39 So give to Jesus all your days 23:43 It's the only life that pays 23:47 When you recall 23:50 You have but one life 23:58 Well, down here we may be paupers, 24:01 down here we may not be what somebody considers 24:04 even upper middle-class or certainly not rich. 24:08 But one of these days, folks, we're going to go to a place 24:11 and we're going to walk on streets of gold. 24:17 This life will soon be over 24:23 My story's almost told 24:29 But I'll meet you up in heaven 24:34 Where we're gonna walk on streets of gold 24:39 I'll walk golden streets of that beautiful city 24:45 In that land where we'll never grow old 24:51 And though here below I may be just a pauper 24:56 Someday I'll walk on gold 25:02 I cannot boast of riches 25:07 No treasures do I hold 25:13 But I have this blessed promise 25:18 Someday I'll walk on gold 25:23 I'll walk golden streets of that beautiful city 25:29 In that land where we'll never grow old 25:35 And though here below I may be just a pauper 25:40 Someday I'll walk on gold 25:45 Someday I'll walk on gold 25:50 Yes Someday I'll walk on gold 26:01 And we will. Amen. 26:03 And we'll think nothing about it. 26:06 We will get used to walking on gold. 26:08 We'll get used to seeing walls of what, 26:11 jasper, gates of pearl. 26:13 But all of that will seem so meaningless, really, 26:17 because we're there for one reason 26:19 and that's Jesus Christ. 26:21 This song, "Jesus is still the answer", 26:23 a very favorite of mine. 26:25 And we'd like to sing it for you right now. 26:31 Jesus is still the answer 26:36 And though time and ages roll 26:42 Jesus is still the answer 26:47 He's the answer for your soul 26:53 And though some may say 26:56 He doesn't fit with their philosophy 27:02 I know Jesus is still the answer 27:08 He's always been and always will be 27:15 Some men try so hard to prove 27:21 That God's not really real 27:26 While others say they know for sure 27:32 His love you cannot feel 27:38 Well, I know He is real within my soul 27:45 For one day He cleansed and made me whole 27:51 And Jesus is still the answer 27:56 For that longing deep in your soul 28:02 Jesus is still the answer 28:08 And though time and ages roll 28:14 Jesus is still the answer 28:19 He's the answer for your soul 28:24 And though some may say 28:28 He doesn't fit with their philosophy 28:35 I know Jesus is still the answer 28:41 He's always been and always will be 28:47 I know Jesus is the answer for this world today. 28:50 A lot of people are searching in all kinds of places 28:54 for answers to things, but they've got to try Jesus. 29:00 We've got so many people giving us wrong messages. 29:04 We've got the secularism that's taking over our world. 29:08 And they want to take Jesus. 29:10 They want to take God out of every answer. 29:13 In their minds, there is none. 29:15 There is no answer. 29:17 Everything, it just happens and it's all us empty. 29:22 But today, we want to tell you that Jesus is the only answer. 29:27 Yes, He is. 29:28 And you can get all the answers 29:30 to all those worries and questions, 29:32 and, you know, things that don't make sense. 29:35 If you come to Jesus, He will be your shepherd. 29:39 He will take you in His arms. 29:40 And He'll explain to you as He would to a little child 29:44 all the answers that you need. 29:47 He'll thrill your soul. 29:49 He'll give you all the enjoyment 29:53 that you've been looking for in other places 29:55 that leave you ravaged over sin 29:58 and addictions and all kinds of things. 30:01 If you really want to get out of 30:03 whatever lifestyle you are in 30:06 that doesn't have Jesus in it, 30:08 if you'll just cry out to Him, "Jesus, I need help." 30:13 Acknowledge your need of Him. 30:16 And He's going to come. He wants a hungry heart. 30:19 And He loves to hear a hungry soul call out, 30:21 "Jesus, help me. 30:23 I'm a sinner." 30:25 And there's so much sin in this world and evil. 30:28 The devil is running rampant in our society today 30:33 and only Jesus is the answer. 30:38 Jesus is still the answer 30:44 And though time and ages roll 30:50 Jesus is still the answer 30:55 He's the answer for your soul 31:00 And though some may say 31:03 He doesn't fit with their philosophy 31:10 I know Jesus is still the answer 31:16 He's always been and always will be 31:27 Thank You, Lord. Thank you Lord. 36:59 Well, I remember when we were on our way 37:03 to a concert in Chesapeake, Virginia. 37:08 And I had opened a magazine 37:11 and it was talking about a Kathryn Kuhlman revival, 37:15 and it showed all these empty wheelchairs. 37:18 And I thought to myself, 37:19 "I'd been in church all my life. 37:21 I'd never seen anybody taken out of a wheelchair." 37:24 I thought, "God, why haven't I seen miracles like this." 37:28 Well, we got to the altar and we set up our equipment. 37:31 I was not feeling good. 37:33 And I told the group, I said, 37:35 "I don't know if I can make it through the concert 37:37 and if I do, I won't go out to eat. 37:41 So we started the concert. 37:43 And I'll never forget, we started singing. 37:46 I love the thrill that I feel 37:48 when I get together with God's wonderful people. 37:50 And I keep falling in love with Him. 37:53 and I forgot about how badly I felt. 37:59 And I was trying to minister to the audience, 38:01 to people in the audience. 38:03 So we got to the end of the concert, 38:05 and it dawned on me that God had touched me. 38:10 God had actually touched me. 38:11 I forgot about myself and God had touched me. 38:15 So God gave me this song, 38:16 "Lord, you know I need a brand new touch." 38:19 And when I think about how many people's lives 38:22 have been touched by this song of brand new touch. 38:25 We just recently got a call in our office 38:29 from a 76-year-old widower. 38:31 Her name was Roberta. 38:34 So Roberta called 38:36 and she was trying to find out if we had a CD 38:39 that had "A brand new touch" on it. 38:43 So she tried to explain why it was so important 38:47 that she would find the CD 38:49 that would have "A brand new touch" on it. 38:51 And so she explained, she said, "A couple years ago, December, 38:56 I lost my older son. 38:59 He was on a tree cutting a limb, 39:01 fell 15 feet and died. 39:05 He was 44 years old. 39:08 "And she said, "It was such a loss. 39:11 I didn't know how to deal with it. 39:13 And so just a little over a month ago, 39:17 my youngest son was involved in a work related accident 39:21 and was killed. 39:24 And ironically, he was also 44." 39:27 So she lost both of her 44-year old sons. 39:30 And she said, 39:31 "You know, I'm dealing with so much stuff right now." 39:34 And she said, "I remembered the song, 39:37 "Lord, you know, I need a brand new touch." 39:40 And she said, "I'd written out the lyrics 39:42 and I put them on a piece of paper." 39:44 And she said, 39:45 "As long as I can read those lyrics, 39:50 everyday, I feel like I can get through the day." 39:55 She said, "Thank you, Lanny Wolfe, 39:58 for writing this song." 40:00 I'm thanking God for giving me this song not just for 40:04 when I needed it in Chesapeake, Virginia, 40:07 and not just for Roberta 40:09 who needs to be reminded everyday 40:12 that she can get a brand new touch 40:14 but for all the Robertas all over the world. 40:18 I would never have thought 40:20 when God gave me this song 30 some years ago 40:24 that He was going to have this song minister 40:27 to brokenhearted Robertas all over the world. 40:32 And so that's why this song is even more special to us today 40:37 than it was when I wrote it. 40:39 Lord, you know, I need a brand new touch. 40:41 Maybe you need a brand new touch today. 40:43 Maybe this is for you today. We got there at 9 o'clock. 44:17 And people waited for us 44:19 to set up all the equipment 44:20 so that's a part of what Marietta is talking about. 44:23 Right, so when we would get back to our home church 44:27 on Sunday afternoon 44:28 just in time for 5:30 choir practice, 44:31 because this choir director here, 44:33 you know, he's got to have that choir rehearsal 44:35 before we can sing in the service. 44:38 We would get out of the van, go in the church, 44:43 maybe change clothes or just go into the... 44:46 If we had time. 44:47 Into the choir loft and sit down. 44:51 And he gets to sit most of the time we're singing 44:54 and I'm standing the whole time. 44:56 David and I, we are standing all the time. 44:58 So he doesn't even understand how tired we are 45:01 when we get back to the choir rehearsal. 45:04 But I would sit down and the tiredness... 45:08 I was the one driving also while we're in the van. 45:12 And we're alive today because she drove. 45:15 God is good. 45:17 But I would sit down 45:19 and the tiredness would just overtake me 45:21 and I'd feel like, "Lord, I don't see 45:23 how I can sit through this whole service." 45:27 And I'd say, "Lord, I need a brand new touch. 45:33 You know, I need a brand new touch." 45:36 And when I would pray that, 45:37 that was what I just came to depend on those Sundays. 45:43 When I sit down, I'd close my eyes 45:45 and say, "Lord, You know I need a brand new touch. 45:48 Please, take me through this service." 45:52 But you know what, 45:53 He just didn't take me through it 45:54 then I could drag myself home. 45:57 No, it's like, I would begin to sing His praises, 46:01 listen to the people worshipping, 46:02 and enjoying the joy of the Lord. 46:07 And my strength would just come 46:09 and build, and build, 46:11 and I enjoyed all of the service. 46:14 And He took us through all of it, 46:16 even enjoying it and receiving from Him 46:21 because we have been giving all those services. 46:24 We have been giving out. 46:25 And God knew we needed to come and listen to the Word of God. 46:31 Enjoying with the people who were in our fellowship 46:35 and we needed to get the strength 46:39 that the Lord had to give us. 46:42 So this is a special song to me. 46:44 It's still special today. 46:45 It's the one that I sing around the house. 46:48 You know, we all have those tire days. 46:50 Like God touches us, He strengthens. 46:54 He encourages. 46:56 And He could actually give us physical strength. 46:59 Sometimes that's hard to believe, Dave, 47:02 because you can feel so tired. 47:03 You've been working all day long, 47:05 maybe you work in a job, 47:06 and you come home, and you got to cook dinner, 47:09 then you got to wash clothes, and you got all those things. 47:12 But you just ask
