I want to spend my life 00:00:01.36\00:00:07.17 Mending broken people 00:00:07.20\00:00:12.14 I want to spend 00:00:12.17\00:00:14.51 My life 00:00:14.54\00:00:18.35 Removing pain 00:00:18.38\00:00:23.35 Lord, let my words 00:00:23.39\00:00:29.56 Heal a heart that hurts 00:00:29.59\00:00:34.13 I want to spend my life 00:00:34.16\00:00:39.87 Mending broken people 00:00:39.90\00:00:45.27 I want to spend my life 00:00:45.31\00:00:50.85 Mending broken people. 00:00:50.88\00:00:54.82 Hello and welcome to 3ABN today. 00:01:06.59\00:01:09.00 My name is C.A. Murray 00:01:09.03\00:01:10.37 and allow me once again to thank you 00:01:10.40\00:01:11.73 for sharing just a little of your day with us, 00:01:11.77\00:01:14.17 to thank you for your love, your prayers, 00:01:14.20\00:01:15.60 your support of Three Angels Broadcasting Network. 00:01:15.64\00:01:19.01 We realize that we couldn't do what we're called to do 00:01:19.04\00:01:21.11 without your partnership and your help. 00:01:21.14\00:01:22.98 And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 00:01:23.01\00:01:24.78 Got a good program for you today, an exciting one 00:01:24.81\00:01:27.08 because I love the way God inspires people 00:01:27.12\00:01:32.29 to do special things for him, 00:01:32.32\00:01:33.89 and the different ways the gospel is being shared, 00:01:33.92\00:01:36.66 not just from pulpits or through Bible studies 00:01:36.69\00:01:38.66 or some of the classic ways. 00:01:38.69\00:01:40.16 But God is calling young people and those of us 00:01:40.20\00:01:42.33 who are not so young, to do some new things for him, 00:01:42.36\00:01:45.23 to get the gospel into places 00:01:45.27\00:01:46.80 and it airs where it otherwise may not go. 00:01:46.84\00:01:50.17 And so today's program, we introduce us to a media 00:01:50.21\00:01:53.64 that shares a little bit of our campus here, 00:01:53.68\00:01:55.74 but it's separate from 3ABN, 00:01:55.78\00:01:57.38 but certainly flows in the vein of what 3ABN is trying to do. 00:01:57.41\00:02:00.58 And this is the UnScene Media Group. 00:02:00.62\00:02:03.62 I even like the term UnScene Media, 00:02:03.65\00:02:05.49 we got to unpackage that. 00:02:05.52\00:02:06.86 And talk about what that means 00:02:06.89\00:02:08.32 and how that is fulfilling God's gospel commission. 00:02:08.36\00:02:12.29 I have seated next to me here in what would normally be 00:02:12.33\00:02:14.73 the hot seat, Ryan St. Hillaire, 00:02:14.76\00:02:17.20 who was the... 00:02:17.23\00:02:18.57 I wanna say chief cook and bottle washer, 00:02:18.60\00:02:19.93 but I have to say executive director 00:02:19.97\00:02:22.04 of UnScene Media. 00:02:22.07\00:02:23.41 Ryan, good to have you here, man. 00:02:23.44\00:02:24.77 Thank you. 00:02:24.81\00:02:26.14 You have been here for a little while 00:02:26.17\00:02:27.51 and have done a number of projects for 3ABN, 00:02:27.54\00:02:30.71 but your heart, your passion is UnScene Media. 00:02:30.75\00:02:33.01 Correct. Yeah. 00:02:33.05\00:02:34.38 And before we introduce our guests, 00:02:34.42\00:02:35.75 let me just put the hot seat, 00:02:35.78\00:02:37.12 the spotlight on you real quick. 00:02:37.15\00:02:38.49 Okay. What is UnScene Media? 00:02:38.52\00:02:40.06 What does it seek to do? Why does it exist? 00:02:40.09\00:02:43.16 We are a ministry 00:02:43.19\00:02:45.86 that our mission is to disciple and inspire youth 00:02:45.89\00:02:49.06 with the eternal realities of God's love 00:02:49.10\00:02:51.27 through dynamic visual media. 00:02:51.30\00:02:53.64 And we all know that 00:02:53.67\00:02:55.30 there is a generation gap in our church. 00:02:55.34\00:02:57.27 Oh, yes. 00:02:57.31\00:02:58.64 And we realize that the best way 00:02:58.67\00:03:00.88 to be able to reach the young people 00:03:00.91\00:03:04.71 is to be able to have discipleship, 00:03:04.75\00:03:08.08 to get young people involved. 00:03:08.12\00:03:10.05 And we're gonna talk about that in just a bit. 00:03:10.09\00:03:12.35 But there's a quote, 00:03:12.39\00:03:15.02 and this will just kind of set the framework. 00:03:15.06\00:03:17.16 In Christian service, Page 33 that says, 00:03:17.19\00:03:19.53 "We should educate the youth to help the youth 00:03:19.56\00:03:22.16 as they seek to do this work. 00:03:22.20\00:03:23.83 They will gain an experience that will qualify them 00:03:23.87\00:03:25.97 to become consecrated workers in a larger sphere." 00:03:26.00\00:03:29.70 So we are media ministry, 00:03:29.74\00:03:31.84 but we are also empowering young people 00:03:31.87\00:03:34.28 to be able to use media tools to reach their generation. 00:03:34.31\00:03:37.51 Amen, amen. 00:03:37.55\00:03:38.88 And no one can reach young people like young people, 00:03:38.91\00:03:40.45 even though there are those of us 00:03:40.48\00:03:41.82 delude ourselves into thinking, 00:03:41.85\00:03:43.22 "Oh, I can talk to young people." 00:03:43.25\00:03:44.95 Young people talk to young people 00:03:44.99\00:03:46.35 better than old people talk to young people. 00:03:46.39\00:03:47.86 Correct. And that's just the truth. 00:03:47.89\00:03:50.46 And so that's what 00:03:50.49\00:03:51.83 UnScene Media groups function is, 00:03:51.86\00:03:54.33 that's why it exists, that's its purpose. 00:03:54.36\00:03:56.20 Yeah. Yeah. 00:03:56.23\00:03:57.57 And if you are wondering about the name... 00:03:57.60\00:03:58.93 Yes, that was the next question. 00:03:58.97\00:04:00.30 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, 00:04:00.34\00:04:01.70 "We fix our eyes not on what is seen, 00:04:01.74\00:04:03.81 but on what is unseen, 00:04:03.84\00:04:05.24 because what seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 00:04:05.27\00:04:08.31 Is eternal. 00:04:08.34\00:04:09.68 And so our focus or idea 00:04:09.71\00:04:12.51 is to direct hearts and minds 00:04:12.55\00:04:15.25 towards the unseen realities of God's love. 00:04:15.28\00:04:17.65 Very cool. 00:04:17.69\00:04:19.02 Now, you actually bring people in for training. 00:04:19.05\00:04:21.72 You actually train and teach. 00:04:21.76\00:04:23.49 So we have some students, 00:04:23.53\00:04:25.09 yea, interns it says officially, with us. 00:04:25.13\00:04:28.30 Let's get on to the list. 00:04:28.33\00:04:30.17 Priscilla Elwin. 00:04:30.20\00:04:31.70 Yes, that's me. 00:04:31.73\00:04:33.07 All right, now someone has told me. 00:04:33.10\00:04:34.67 Is it you that's the fantastic cook? 00:04:34.70\00:04:37.41 No? 00:04:37.44\00:04:38.77 Somebody in this group is a fantastic cook. 00:04:38.81\00:04:40.14 They're all fantastic. Yeah. 00:04:40.18\00:04:44.05 Yeah, someone said that there's someone 00:04:44.08\00:04:45.51 who has really distinguish themselves. 00:04:45.55\00:04:48.02 So maybe, it's... everybody is a fantastic cook. 00:04:48.05\00:04:50.39 And praise the Lord. 00:04:50.42\00:04:51.92 Priscilla, where are you from? 00:04:51.95\00:04:53.29 Papua New Guinea. 00:04:53.32\00:04:54.66 Papua New Guinea, you came a little way, didn't you? 00:04:54.69\00:04:56.99 I did. Yeah, praise the Lord. 00:04:57.03\00:04:59.33 You have to ask how she found out about our ministry. 00:04:59.36\00:05:02.63 You must be a mediator guy, 00:05:02.66\00:05:04.00 'cause you're like pre-empting my questions. 00:05:04.03\00:05:05.37 Yep. 00:05:05.40\00:05:07.00 How did indeed you found out about this media group? 00:05:07.04\00:05:10.54 In fact, I got an e-mail from my friend 00:05:10.57\00:05:13.24 and at the footnote it had something about IDEA. 00:05:13.27\00:05:16.61 I'm like, "What is this, let me look out." 00:05:16.64\00:05:19.25 And that's how I found IDEA, UnScene Media and IDEA. 00:05:19.28\00:05:23.05 Praise the Lord. 00:05:23.08\00:05:24.55 So you took a chance to come all the way 00:05:24.59\00:05:26.49 from Papua New Guinea... 00:05:26.52\00:05:27.86 Yes. Which is not next door. 00:05:27.89\00:05:29.36 No. 00:05:29.39\00:05:30.73 All the way to Thompsonville, Illinois. 00:05:30.76\00:05:32.36 Yes. Bless your heart. 00:05:32.39\00:05:34.40 Bless your heart. It's cold. 00:05:34.43\00:05:35.76 Yeah, it's getting cold. It is. 00:05:35.80\00:05:37.63 Yeah, we have seasons here. 00:05:37.67\00:05:40.90 Are you rolling with those pretty good? 00:05:40.94\00:05:42.67 Yes, I have to adopt, yeah. Amen. 00:05:42.70\00:05:44.84 Yeah and amen, and amen, and amen. 00:05:44.87\00:05:47.48 In the middle, Anna Lisa Van Melle. 00:05:47.51\00:05:50.81 Yes. Hi, Anna Lisa. 00:05:50.85\00:05:52.41 How are you? Hi. I'm good. 00:05:52.45\00:05:53.78 Where are you from? I'm from West Virginia. 00:05:53.82\00:05:56.35 Yeah, I was born in Maryland but I've been living 00:05:56.38\00:05:58.45 in West Virginia for the past several years. 00:05:58.49\00:06:00.09 Adventist home? Yes. 00:06:00.12\00:06:02.56 Brothers and sisters? No, I'm the only child. 00:06:02.59\00:06:04.59 You're the only child? Yeah. 00:06:04.63\00:06:06.03 How did you find out about UnScene? 00:06:06.06\00:06:08.23 Well, some of them came to my school. 00:06:08.26\00:06:13.07 Last year, I was a senior 00:06:13.10\00:06:15.00 and they talked at my English class. 00:06:15.04\00:06:16.87 Of course, you know, we're graduating 00:06:16.91\00:06:18.24 so trying to recruit us to come here. 00:06:18.27\00:06:19.87 So I wanted to take a year of break 00:06:19.91\00:06:22.38 and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. 00:06:22.41\00:06:24.35 I thought about mission service, 00:06:24.38\00:06:25.71 but that didn't work out and so I decided to come here. 00:06:25.75\00:06:28.58 Was media always something that interested you, 00:06:28.62\00:06:30.79 the visual art? 00:06:30.82\00:06:32.52 It always interested me. 00:06:32.55\00:06:33.92 I was never really that into it, 00:06:33.96\00:06:36.83 but now I'm really enjoying it a lot more as I've been here. 00:06:36.86\00:06:40.03 You can see yourself kind of sticking 00:06:40.06\00:06:41.40 with this a little bit? 00:06:41.43\00:06:42.76 Yeah, more probably as a hobby, 00:06:42.80\00:06:44.17 and I do want to use a lot of the skills 00:06:44.20\00:06:48.34 that I've learnt for ministry 00:06:48.37\00:06:49.77 because I do want to be a missionary someday. 00:06:49.80\00:06:54.74 So, yeah. 00:06:54.78\00:06:56.34 Yeah, definitely. Praise the Lord. 00:06:56.38\00:06:57.71 Praise the Lord. 00:06:57.75\00:06:59.08 And last, but certainly not least, Nicole. 00:06:59.11\00:07:01.78 You are a Potgieter. Yeah. 00:07:01.82\00:07:04.09 Potgieter. Potgieter. From? 00:07:04.12\00:07:06.45 I'm originally from South Africa. 00:07:06.49\00:07:08.89 Back then, my family moved to America two years ago. 00:07:08.92\00:07:13.03 So that, you know, my brother and I can have 00:07:13.06\00:07:15.00 more opportunities for ministry and stuff. 00:07:15.03\00:07:18.53 Adventist family also? 00:07:18.57\00:07:19.90 Yes, Adventist family. Bless your heart. 00:07:19.93\00:07:21.27 How did you find out about UnScene media? 00:07:21.30\00:07:23.17 Actually, they came to my school 00:07:23.20\00:07:25.17 and they were like, 00:07:25.21\00:07:26.94 trying to recruit people and I heard about its like, 00:07:26.98\00:07:29.28 "Oh, that's a nice idea, but I've got my own plans. 00:07:29.31\00:07:31.58 I've already applied for the schools." 00:07:31.61\00:07:34.02 And then suddenly my plans just fell apart after two days 00:07:34.05\00:07:37.69 of being at my school. 00:07:37.72\00:07:39.15 And I thought, "Well, you know, let me try UnScene," 00:07:39.19\00:07:42.62 and that was where the Lord wanted me all along. 00:07:42.66\00:07:44.79 Excellent. 00:07:44.83\00:07:46.16 So, Ryan, a large part of what you do is recruitment 00:07:46.19\00:07:49.50 or at least exposing your vision 00:07:49.53\00:07:51.13 to young people in the high school 00:07:51.17\00:07:52.60 or academy setting? 00:07:52.63\00:07:54.30 Yeah, we've been to quite a few schools 00:07:54.34\00:07:56.17 over the last year. 00:07:56.20\00:07:57.54 And one of the reasons 00:07:57.57\00:07:58.91 we also do week of prayers for them. 00:07:58.94\00:08:01.51 So we would travel and we would also share 00:08:01.54\00:08:03.68 in addition to the week of prayer, 00:08:03.71\00:08:05.05 we'd share about what the ministry is doing 00:08:05.08\00:08:06.58 and opportunities that exist for the young people. 00:08:06.61\00:08:10.29 But sometimes, once in a while 00:08:10.32\00:08:11.92 as we are traveling through to other gigs, 00:08:11.95\00:08:13.96 we'll stop by at different academies 00:08:13.99\00:08:15.59 and just share about the IDEA program 00:08:15.62\00:08:18.06 and the opportunities that exist there. 00:08:18.09\00:08:20.30 Do you find that most Adventist schools are open 00:08:20.33\00:08:22.90 to let you come in and talk to their students? 00:08:22.93\00:08:24.73 So far. Yeah. 00:08:24.77\00:08:26.10 Yeah. Praise the Lord. 00:08:26.13\00:08:27.47 Yeah. 00:08:27.50\00:08:28.84 We praise the Lord for that. 00:08:28.87\00:08:30.21 Now, I need to say 00:08:30.24\00:08:31.57 that the other half of this dynamic duo 00:08:31.61\00:08:32.94 is Dee Casper. 00:08:32.97\00:08:34.31 He'll be in, in just a few minutes 00:08:34.34\00:08:36.44 with another intern. 00:08:36.48\00:08:38.41 How did you indeed, I use the term hook up, 00:08:38.45\00:08:41.48 how did you come together? 00:08:41.52\00:08:43.75 Through a series of miracles. 00:08:43.79\00:08:45.79 We can share that a little bit later 00:08:45.82\00:08:47.82 but there were just tons of miracles 00:08:47.86\00:08:49.92 that led up to actually launching the IDEA program, 00:08:49.96\00:08:53.50 because it's an impossibility what we're doing right now. 00:08:53.53\00:08:58.33 We didn't have the funds, we didn't have the resources, 00:08:58.37\00:09:00.44 we didn't have anything that we needed 00:09:00.47\00:09:02.44 in order to launch a training program 00:09:02.47\00:09:04.04 which has been something 00:09:04.07\00:09:05.41 that has been a vision for a long time. 00:09:05.44\00:09:08.98 But God told, 00:09:09.01\00:09:11.18 He just impressed on my heart, the idea that, 00:09:11.21\00:09:16.79 "If this is a vision that I have given you, 00:09:16.82\00:09:19.42 " this is God speaking to me that, 00:09:19.45\00:09:21.79 "You need to move forward with it." 00:09:21.82\00:09:23.93 And He will provide 00:09:23.96\00:09:25.79 whatever is necessary in order to make it happen. 00:09:25.83\00:09:28.53 And it was a scary thing, 00:09:28.56\00:09:31.33 because I was letting go of 00:09:31.37\00:09:33.07 other opportunities and so forth. 00:09:33.10\00:09:35.44 But we stepped out in faith 00:09:35.47\00:09:36.81 and God brought exactly the people 00:09:36.84\00:09:38.74 that we needed to run the program. 00:09:38.77\00:09:40.54 He brought the resources, He brought everything 00:09:40.58\00:09:42.58 that needed to happen in order for us to launch it. 00:09:42.61\00:09:45.01 And in just over a period of one year, 00:09:45.05\00:09:47.25 or it's been two... 00:09:47.28\00:09:48.62 this is the second year that we're running the program. 00:09:48.65\00:09:51.49 We've been able to do things that I never imagined. 00:09:51.52\00:09:53.62 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:09:53.66\00:09:55.02 Maybe that's fortuitous then 00:09:55.06\00:09:56.39 and providential that you're on this campus 00:09:56.42\00:09:58.46 because that is a, dare I say, 00:09:58.49\00:10:00.80 Shelton-esque kind of history. 00:10:00.83\00:10:03.83 The idea that God plants a vision in your mind, 00:10:03.87\00:10:05.73 and you just go out and you just do it. 00:10:05.77\00:10:07.47 And then God provides as you walk, 00:10:07.50\00:10:09.64 God opens the door and you just walk through them. 00:10:09.67\00:10:11.34 It's been an inspiration, 00:10:11.37\00:10:12.71 because where we are staying right now 00:10:12.74\00:10:15.11 is on 3ABN's miracle land, where it all started. 00:10:15.14\00:10:18.21 Yes, and you're on the original miracle land, yeah. 00:10:18.25\00:10:20.92 So praise the Lord. 00:10:20.95\00:10:22.28 In a pretty nice set of digs till I drove by that today, 00:10:22.32\00:10:25.35 not bad. 00:10:25.39\00:10:26.72 You know when the Lord blesses, He really blesses. 00:10:26.76\00:10:28.09 God blessed us. 00:10:28.12\00:10:29.46 Listen, give me a little history on you, 00:10:29.49\00:10:30.83 just as far as your media background 00:10:30.86\00:10:32.86 and sort of what led you 00:10:32.89\00:10:34.40 to this particular point in time? 00:10:34.43\00:10:37.33 I studied video production at Andrews University. 00:10:37.37\00:10:40.74 And always just had a passion for ministry, 00:10:40.77\00:10:43.71 and I kind of explored. 00:10:43.74\00:10:46.34 I started off as a theology major 00:10:46.37\00:10:47.71 'cause I knew that 00:10:47.74\00:10:49.08 God had a calling on my heart for ministry, 00:10:49.11\00:10:50.45 I wasn't sure exactly what that meant. 00:10:50.48\00:10:52.01 Eventually, I ended up moving just into video production. 00:10:52.05\00:10:55.25 And I've been through a lot in the past, ups and downs. 00:10:55.28\00:10:59.29 And eventually, I realized that the only way 00:10:59.32\00:11:03.43 that we can grow spiritually 00:11:03.46\00:11:05.43 that God can continue to bless us 00:11:05.46\00:11:07.56 is when we are actively ministering to others... 00:11:07.60\00:11:09.90 Correct. 00:11:09.93\00:11:11.27 ..discipleship. 00:11:11.30\00:11:12.63 And so that became a foundation for this ministry. 00:11:12.67\00:11:14.84 When we started it, I realized, you know, 00:11:14.87\00:11:16.97 we could be the greatest 00:11:17.01\00:11:18.34 media production company in the world, 00:11:18.37\00:11:20.58 putting together cutting edge media 00:11:20.61\00:11:23.45 in film production, television, new media, whatever. 00:11:23.48\00:11:26.68 But if we're not empowering young people 00:11:26.72\00:11:28.92 to be able to replicate what we're doing, 00:11:28.95\00:11:30.99 if we're not putting that into their own hands, 00:11:31.02\00:11:33.19 then the vision is stopping with us. 00:11:33.22\00:11:35.32 And we wanted to be able to continue that 00:11:35.36\00:11:37.33 through Jesus' method of discipleship. 00:11:37.36\00:11:39.89 Yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:11:39.93\00:11:41.40 So God called you to minister. 00:11:41.43\00:11:42.96 You just needed to figure out 00:11:43.00\00:11:44.33 what that meant as far as what type for ministry. 00:11:44.37\00:11:46.90 And this is ministry. 00:11:46.94\00:11:48.27 It is. Yeah. 00:11:48.30\00:11:49.64 This is ministry of highest order. 00:11:49.67\00:11:52.97 Let me just ask the interns here, 00:11:53.01\00:11:54.84 and then I wanna kind of follow you it on a bit 00:11:54.88\00:11:56.68 because you got a lot to talk about. 00:11:56.71\00:11:58.38 Is this rigorous? 00:11:58.41\00:11:59.75 Are you really learning things that you did not know before? 00:11:59.78\00:12:04.35 Or our brethren being kind of hard on you? 00:12:04.39\00:12:06.22 Are you enjoying? 00:12:06.25\00:12:07.59 Are you enjoying what you're doing? 00:12:07.62\00:12:08.96 And let me just you Priscilla, 00:12:08.99\00:12:10.33 'cause you came the farthest way. 00:12:10.36\00:12:12.56 Give me just a little flavor of you experience? 00:12:12.59\00:12:16.10 Okay, let me just start by saying, 00:12:16.13\00:12:19.50 I had a little experience in film making. 00:12:19.53\00:12:23.00 I went to a film school for nine weeks 00:12:23.04\00:12:27.41 and went back home. 00:12:27.44\00:12:28.78 It was in Philippines, went back to PNG. 00:12:28.81\00:12:31.31 I started doing little bits and pieces, 00:12:31.35\00:12:34.02 but I needed the camera skills, 00:12:34.05\00:12:37.22 how to operate camera and editing. 00:12:37.25\00:12:39.39 So I said, "Okay, 00:12:39.42\00:12:41.09 God you have to find me a place 00:12:41.12\00:12:42.56 where I can go and learn myself, 00:12:42.59\00:12:44.09 so I can do that better." 00:12:44.13\00:12:47.10 Yeah, so I think 00:12:47.13\00:12:50.73 He had hasten and led me here. 00:12:50.77\00:12:54.54 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:12:54.57\00:12:56.10 Nicole, are you learning some good stuff? 00:12:56.14\00:12:59.24 Oh, yeah, definitely. 00:12:59.27\00:13:00.88 I started off knowing like nothing. 00:13:00.91\00:13:04.05 And now I've learned how to use Mac, 00:13:04.08\00:13:08.15 because I've always been a PC girl. 00:13:08.18\00:13:09.78 So, you know, figuring out final cut 00:13:09.82\00:13:12.59 and using cameras and lenses and lighting 00:13:12.62\00:13:15.62 and all that stuff so, yeah. 00:13:15.66\00:13:17.03 I've definitely learned a lot. Praise the Lord. 00:13:17.06\00:13:19.09 Anna Lisa, good stuff? Yeah, definitely. 00:13:19.13\00:13:22.46 I've always been into photography. 00:13:22.50\00:13:24.23 And I just never really had a really good camera to use. 00:13:24.27\00:13:27.24 And so I've been really enjoying, 00:13:27.27\00:13:30.41 like using cameras more, and editing, 00:13:30.44\00:13:33.51 and you know, what she said too. 00:13:33.54\00:13:35.84 It's been really, really, really good. 00:13:35.88\00:13:37.21 So, Ryan, this is kind of hands on. 00:13:37.25\00:13:38.58 I mean, you let them handle the stuff 00:13:38.61\00:13:39.95 and produce things 00:13:39.98\00:13:41.32 and actually get dirty for one of a better turn 00:13:41.35\00:13:45.49 with touching things and handling things. 00:13:45.52\00:13:47.42 It's not just theory or the textbook stuff, 00:13:47.46\00:13:49.32 you actually go out and do. 00:13:49.36\00:13:50.69 Exactly, yeah, that's the idea. 00:13:50.73\00:13:52.06 I mean, we still have some theory instruction. 00:13:52.09\00:13:55.83 But for the most part, 00:13:55.86\00:13:57.20 we want them to learn by getting their hands on it 00:13:57.23\00:13:59.03 and actually doing it. 00:13:59.07\00:14:00.67 That's been the objective of our program. 00:14:00.70\00:14:02.40 Yeah. 00:14:02.44\00:14:03.77 And we'll talk about it little later. 00:14:03.81\00:14:05.14 You have a little film... 00:14:05.17\00:14:07.64 what I call it... 00:14:07.68\00:14:09.51 but we actually see their work in a setting 00:14:09.54\00:14:13.21 at the end of their time. 00:14:13.25\00:14:15.18 Yeah, yeah. And that's a really good stuff. 00:14:15.22\00:14:16.58 They're working on real projects 00:14:16.62\00:14:18.09 that we've done together with other ministries 00:14:18.12\00:14:20.12 and we'll show some of those in just a second here. 00:14:20.16\00:14:23.93 And they had to work on 00:14:23.96\00:14:25.29 some of their own projects as well. 00:14:25.33\00:14:26.93 And we kind of help them through that 00:14:26.96\00:14:29.26 as far as instruction with editing 00:14:29.30\00:14:30.97 and stuff like that so, yeah. 00:14:31.00\00:14:32.33 Praise the Lord. 00:14:32.37\00:14:33.70 So when they come out, 00:14:33.74\00:14:35.07 they're able to storyboard 00:14:35.10\00:14:36.91 or conceive an idea 00:14:36.94\00:14:38.84 and walk through it, shoot it, edit it, 00:14:38.87\00:14:42.48 so you go from concept to full production. 00:14:42.51\00:14:44.81 Yeah, exactly. Well done. 00:14:44.85\00:14:46.51 In fact, we can kind of talk about some of the projects 00:14:46.55\00:14:49.45 that they've been involved in. 00:14:49.48\00:14:51.65 We talked about how we do week of prayers as a ministry, 00:14:51.69\00:14:56.19 and so, of course, when we do that, 00:14:56.22\00:14:57.63 we bring the interns along, 00:14:57.66\00:14:59.06 and we get them involved in sharing 00:14:59.09\00:15:02.16 little devotional thoughts 00:15:02.20\00:15:03.73 and taking little opportunities with classes, 00:15:03.77\00:15:07.10 sometimes they have a media class 00:15:07.14\00:15:09.50 or some workshops that we can teach, 00:15:09.54\00:15:11.11 so they actually get to lead out in that. 00:15:11.14\00:15:13.98 And we've also been on some other gigs. 00:15:14.01\00:15:19.21 I think we have some pictures of the week of prayer 00:15:19.25\00:15:21.85 that we can show. 00:15:21.88\00:15:23.22 Yeah, let's take a look. 00:15:23.25\00:15:24.59 That... 00:15:24.62\00:15:25.95 this is our evangelism director Dee Casper, 00:15:25.99\00:15:28.22 which we'll meet in a little bit. 00:15:28.26\00:15:31.19 And he's there presenting, 00:15:31.23\00:15:34.03 I don't remember what the topic was, but... 00:15:34.06\00:15:37.30 and the next picture here is Priscilla. 00:15:37.33\00:15:39.30 Priscilla, you wanna tell us what you were talking about? 00:15:39.33\00:15:41.80 Yeah, I was sharing with students at Hobbit Hills 00:15:41.84\00:15:45.71 and I shared from the Book of Jeremiah, 00:15:45.74\00:15:48.24 how everyone is 00:15:48.28\00:15:51.88 called by God to be something for Him. 00:15:51.91\00:15:55.98 Yeah. 00:15:56.02\00:15:57.35 Like Jeremiah, he was ordained a prophet. 00:15:57.39\00:15:58.72 Yeah. 00:15:58.75\00:16:00.09 So this is kind of neat and it's a... 00:16:00.12\00:16:01.46 and forgive me for cutting off, Priscilla, 00:16:01.49\00:16:03.93 but this is kind of a wrinkle that I didn't understand 00:16:03.96\00:16:05.89 that your interns, 00:16:05.93\00:16:08.80 students actually get to get up and speak 00:16:08.83\00:16:11.57 as part of your overall curriculum 00:16:11.60\00:16:13.94 or what you want them to do. 00:16:13.97\00:16:15.40 So they're learning camera skills 00:16:15.44\00:16:16.87 but they are also picking up speaking opportunities also. 00:16:16.91\00:16:18.57 Yeah, exactly. 00:16:18.61\00:16:19.94 So we're training not just in media 00:16:19.97\00:16:21.84 but also in evangelism 00:16:21.88\00:16:23.41 and we're training media in the context 00:16:23.45\00:16:26.25 of evangelism as well. 00:16:26.28\00:16:28.78 So I think the next project that we went on 00:16:28.82\00:16:31.99 and which is really cool. 00:16:32.02\00:16:33.36 It was the first big project 00:16:33.39\00:16:34.72 that most of you have been on with, we got to go to the... 00:16:34.76\00:16:40.30 to Pennsylvania to shoot concert 00:16:40.33\00:16:43.23 for The Lesser Light Collective. 00:16:43.26\00:16:45.73 You wanna tell us about that? 00:16:45.77\00:16:48.00 Yeah, it was an amazing experience, 00:16:48.04\00:16:50.87 I mean, yeah, for me it was the first big production 00:16:50.91\00:16:53.54 I've ever been a part of, and it was... 00:16:53.58\00:16:56.98 took us several days to set up everything 00:16:57.01\00:16:59.15 because we weren't familiar with the venue, 00:16:59.18\00:17:01.08 and so Nicole and I 00:17:01.12\00:17:04.29 got to work on a DJI Ronin Gimbal and... 00:17:04.32\00:17:10.03 Hope we have some pictures of that... 00:17:10.06\00:17:11.39 Yeah, I think we do. 00:17:11.43\00:17:12.76 Of actually putting together this thing. 00:17:12.79\00:17:14.13 It took us like two days to balance it 00:17:14.16\00:17:16.30 because we had like a really heavy lens 00:17:16.33\00:17:18.73 and a light camera body in it. 00:17:18.77\00:17:20.44 It took us a while but, you know, 00:17:20.47\00:17:22.74 once we finish setting that thing up 00:17:22.77\00:17:24.81 like I will never ever forget how to set up a gimbal, 00:17:24.84\00:17:28.98 but yeah, there was that, 00:17:29.01\00:17:30.35 and the ceiling was really high. 00:17:30.38\00:17:34.08 So we had to figure out how to... 00:17:34.12\00:17:36.15 We won't talk about this picture too much. 00:17:36.18\00:17:38.92 And we won't tell you who had to climb that ladder. 00:17:38.95\00:17:42.32 Well, obviously somebody did. 00:17:42.36\00:17:43.96 Somebody did. Yeah. 00:17:43.99\00:17:46.70 So you're getting real life hands-on not only 00:17:46.73\00:17:49.33 but setup experience 00:17:49.36\00:17:51.07 and you're walking through the whole production process. 00:17:51.10\00:17:53.50 Yeah. Really great. 00:17:53.54\00:17:54.87 Now did you speak at any of these? 00:17:54.90\00:17:56.24 Oh, this is the concert you were telling me. 00:17:56.27\00:17:57.61 So this is the concert that you were filming? 00:17:57.64\00:17:59.87 Yeah. Yeah. 00:17:59.91\00:18:01.24 So... 00:18:01.28\00:18:02.61 Wow. 00:18:02.64\00:18:03.98 Yeah, here we have a picture of the artist 00:18:04.01\00:18:05.35 actually performing once we had 00:18:05.38\00:18:06.72 everything set up there, so. 00:18:06.75\00:18:08.08 Now how do you find these things? 00:18:08.12\00:18:09.62 Or do they find you, or the people... 00:18:09.65\00:18:12.05 It's a combination and it's just been interesting 00:18:12.09\00:18:14.66 because God has brought us into contact with people 00:18:14.69\00:18:17.66 and He's given us divine appointments. 00:18:17.69\00:18:19.89 Over and over again, we weren't necessarily looking 00:18:19.93\00:18:21.93 for these things but, you know, through somebody 00:18:21.96\00:18:24.93 who knew somebody would come and contact us and say, 00:18:24.97\00:18:27.60 "Hey, you know, we're doing this. 00:18:27.64\00:18:28.97 Would you be able to help out?" 00:18:29.00\00:18:30.34 And that's how most of it has happened. 00:18:30.37\00:18:33.38 And that's incredible because it just shows that, 00:18:33.41\00:18:35.94 you know, God is bringing stuff to us, 00:18:35.98\00:18:37.91 we're not going out looking for it. 00:18:37.95\00:18:39.71 Looking for it. 00:18:39.75\00:18:41.08 Are you producing things for sale, 00:18:41.12\00:18:42.58 to support the ministry or just for a commission 00:18:42.62\00:18:47.09 for that particular artist or that particular venue? 00:18:47.12\00:18:49.79 How does that work? 00:18:49.82\00:18:51.46 This particular concert that we went to 00:18:51.49\00:18:54.93 was kind of a challenge because 00:18:54.96\00:18:56.46 we don't have much of our own equipment right now. 00:18:56.50\00:18:58.60 So we didn't make anything from the gig. 00:18:58.63\00:19:00.77 We went mostly because it was experience 00:19:00.80\00:19:03.10 that we could provide our interns with. 00:19:03.14\00:19:04.77 Yeah, yeah. 00:19:04.81\00:19:06.14 And it was something that we could do. 00:19:06.17\00:19:07.51 And we believed in the ministry, 00:19:07.54\00:19:08.88 we wanted to help them out, etc. 00:19:08.91\00:19:11.25 So we do have some projects that we're producing 00:19:11.28\00:19:14.85 or working on in the future that would be for sale. 00:19:14.88\00:19:17.69 For the most part right now it's a challenge 00:19:17.72\00:19:19.89 because we're trying to come up 00:19:19.92\00:19:21.86 with as many opportunities as we can 00:19:21.89\00:19:24.29 to provide the experience. 00:19:24.33\00:19:25.73 Yeah, so you need like field trip so they can do some 00:19:25.76\00:19:27.66 practical stuff out in the field. 00:19:27.70\00:19:29.80 Yeah. Yeah. 00:19:29.83\00:19:31.17 Yeah. Praise the Lord. 00:19:31.20\00:19:32.53 Really, well done. 00:19:32.57\00:19:33.90 Now how many... we got three here, 00:19:33.94\00:19:35.27 I think we got another one coming here in the second half. 00:19:35.30\00:19:36.81 How many students can you handle at a time? 00:19:36.84\00:19:39.27 We can take up to six. 00:19:39.31\00:19:40.64 Okay. Okay. 00:19:40.68\00:19:42.01 So this is not a big kind of mass worship kind of thing, 00:19:42.04\00:19:44.38 this is very individual micro kind of stuff 00:19:44.41\00:19:46.58 where you can really get in and learn and teach. 00:19:46.61\00:19:48.62 Yeah, exactly. Yeah, excellent, excellent. 00:19:48.65\00:19:50.85 Did you have another video that you wanted us to show? 00:19:50.89\00:19:53.12 I'm gonna sort of let you kind of take the lead here. 00:19:53.15\00:19:55.42 Yeah, it's okay, we've kind of talked about the IDEA program 00:19:55.46\00:19:58.39 so we can kind of... 00:19:58.43\00:20:00.00 it was a promo video for IDEA 00:20:00.03\00:20:02.96 that just kind of expresses some of the things 00:20:03.00\00:20:04.57 that we've been talking about. 00:20:04.60\00:20:07.44 But we can share, there's two other experiences 00:20:07.47\00:20:11.94 that I wanted to share. 00:20:11.97\00:20:13.31 Just recently, we were at GYC, 00:20:13.34\00:20:15.48 we got to record some videos 00:20:15.51\00:20:17.48 and, Nicole, you can kind of share your experience there. 00:20:17.51\00:20:21.02 Well, this past GYC was actually my second one. 00:20:21.05\00:20:24.85 So you know, you still get the hype of, you know, 00:20:24.89\00:20:27.66 this is GYC, this is so awesome, you know. 00:20:27.69\00:20:30.36 But I really enjoyed the fact 00:20:30.39\00:20:32.56 that we got to work with all the speakers, 00:20:32.59\00:20:35.03 and GYC asked us to form devotional videos, 00:20:35.06\00:20:38.10 and they're going to release them every two weeks. 00:20:38.13\00:20:41.17 And so we got to interact with everybody 00:20:41.20\00:20:43.44 that actually spoke at GYC. 00:20:43.47\00:20:45.34 We had... 00:20:45.37\00:20:46.71 I think we have two pictures that we can show for that... 00:20:46.74\00:20:48.08 Yeah, we had... 00:20:48.11\00:20:49.81 I know we had like David Kim, 00:20:49.84\00:20:52.45 John Bradshaw, David Shin 00:20:52.48\00:20:55.35 and we even had the SDA GC president, Ted Wilson. 00:20:55.38\00:21:00.26 And for me it was a great learning experience 00:21:00.29\00:21:03.96 because I got to actually learn 00:21:03.99\00:21:05.46 how to like be in-charge of a shoot, 00:21:05.49\00:21:08.30 make sure the cameras are running, audios going, 00:21:08.33\00:21:10.80 the person needs to know where to sit, what to do. 00:21:10.83\00:21:13.87 So I learnt something, you know, 00:21:13.90\00:21:16.07 some of my own personal problems. 00:21:16.10\00:21:18.77 Well, not problems but... 00:21:18.81\00:21:20.24 yeah, things that I struggle. 00:21:20.28\00:21:22.04 Through with some of your problems. 00:21:22.08\00:21:23.65 Things that I struggle with that, you know, 00:21:23.68\00:21:25.35 like act scared to take over 00:21:25.38\00:21:27.58 and that helped me realize, you know, 00:21:27.62\00:21:29.58 I need to stand up take control. 00:21:29.62\00:21:31.82 And then I was also blessed by the devotionals 00:21:31.85\00:21:35.02 because as I am editing them, 00:21:35.06\00:21:36.39 I listen to them over and over and over. 00:21:36.42\00:21:38.33 And so I've actually got a lot of them memorized now. 00:21:38.36\00:21:41.83 Praise the Lord. Yeah. 00:21:41.86\00:21:43.20 Yeah. Really, well done. 00:21:43.23\00:21:44.57 I'm getting a little better understanding 00:21:44.60\00:21:46.97 on the scope of Unscene. 00:21:47.00\00:21:49.20 And what you try to do with your students 00:21:49.24\00:21:52.34 and the fact that you're giving them significant field work 00:21:52.37\00:21:54.58 is a great thing. 00:21:54.61\00:21:55.94 Yeah, yeah, that's the idea. 00:21:55.98\00:21:57.41 Now there's one more... 00:21:57.45\00:21:59.21 Nicole, I'm actually, 00:21:59.25\00:22:00.58 I'm really proud of you for 00:22:00.62\00:22:02.05 how you've been taking initiative 00:22:02.08\00:22:04.19 in just learning things 00:22:04.22\00:22:05.69 and you actually had just, 00:22:05.72\00:22:07.86 recently you finished 00:22:07.89\00:22:09.22 a promotional video for our film camp 00:22:09.26\00:22:11.63 which was a program that we did during this summer. 00:22:11.66\00:22:14.66 So I wanted to just show that, that's the second video 00:22:14.70\00:22:16.63 that we actually had to show, 00:22:16.67\00:22:18.07 but I wanna show that video and show everybody, 00:22:18.10\00:22:20.97 what you've actually put together for us 00:22:21.00\00:22:23.10 if we can. 00:22:23.14\00:22:24.54 My name is Ethan David. 00:22:24.57\00:22:26.27 Timothy Peek. 00:22:26.31\00:22:27.64 Katherine, also known as KC. 00:22:27.68\00:22:29.51 My favorite part about film camp is chilling. 00:22:29.54\00:22:32.28 Getting to use the drone 00:22:32.31\00:22:34.48 and going tubing. 00:22:34.52\00:22:36.75 My favorite part about film camp 00:22:36.79\00:22:38.65 that definitely has to be the people, 00:22:38.69\00:22:41.12 because I started learning 00:22:41.16\00:22:43.76 how to trust people a little bit more 00:22:43.79\00:22:45.69 than I've already have been doing. 00:22:45.73\00:22:47.93 And I learned like how to start applying things 00:22:47.96\00:22:52.67 to my everyday life and to start having like... 00:22:52.70\00:22:55.00 and the importance of having daily worship 00:22:55.04\00:22:56.71 with God everyday. 00:22:56.74\00:22:58.11 I've learned to use final cut 00:22:58.14\00:23:01.41 and to use the osmos and cameras. 00:23:01.44\00:23:06.85 'Cause, you know, you just straight show 00:23:06.88\00:23:08.48 with all the equipment, especially with the drone. 00:23:08.52\00:23:11.12 That is amazing. 00:23:11.15\00:23:13.99 And all the osmo, the osmo, 00:23:14.02\00:23:15.79 the drone and all the camera equipment 00:23:15.82\00:23:18.09 that they entrust into our care is amazing. 00:23:18.13\00:23:21.66 The food was so great, it was so awesome. 00:23:21.70\00:23:25.07 I loved it. 00:23:25.10\00:23:26.94 I would recommend film camp 00:23:26.97\00:23:28.64 because film camp is just a great overall place 00:23:28.67\00:23:31.94 with the staff, the placement. 00:23:31.97\00:23:34.61 And with all the people, especially how you meet them, 00:23:34.64\00:23:38.81 and we guys pretty much become family 00:23:38.85\00:23:41.38 by the next course of two weeks. 00:23:41.42\00:23:43.69 I would say that to all of my friends, 00:23:43.72\00:23:45.59 actually, that they should go 00:23:45.62\00:23:47.56 because all the opportunities you get, 00:23:47.59\00:23:50.49 like you get to learn so much, 00:23:50.53\00:23:52.03 and yet at the same time while you're learning, 00:23:52.06\00:23:54.70 you're still having fun, and that's one thing 00:23:54.73\00:23:56.97 that I think that's very cool about it because 00:23:57.00\00:24:00.50 what's the fun in learning and being bored. 00:24:00.54\00:24:03.51 This would be a good opportunity 00:24:03.54\00:24:04.87 for them to learn, 00:24:04.91\00:24:06.24 to take some of the skills they have, 00:24:06.27\00:24:08.84 and tie them to Jesus. 00:24:08.88\00:24:10.21 So that they gonna be able to help 00:24:10.25\00:24:11.58 in this ministry that we have. 00:24:11.61\00:24:13.15 Not only that they learn the skills, 00:24:13.18\00:24:15.88 but as they resided with the others, 00:24:15.92\00:24:19.89 living together, playing together, 00:24:19.92\00:24:21.59 doing all the things, they bonded. 00:24:21.62\00:24:23.93 And they took time both 00:24:23.96\00:24:26.29 to learn skills from one another, 00:24:26.33\00:24:28.60 but to build up camaraderie as a team. 00:24:28.63\00:24:31.43 You're learning and not only learning, 00:24:31.47\00:24:34.24 filming or editing some thing. 00:24:34.27\00:24:37.71 Like I saw that all of you guys like focusing on Jesus, 00:24:37.74\00:24:41.74 like spending more time with Jesus. 00:24:41.78\00:24:44.61 And I'm so amazed with that. 00:24:44.65\00:24:48.38 Wow, very good, hey man, you have drone school. 00:25:04.57\00:25:08.07 Well, it's one of the-- One of the-- 00:25:08.10\00:25:10.21 I like that, you have drone... 00:25:10.24\00:25:11.57 I would go just for drone school. 00:25:11.61\00:25:12.94 Yeah. 00:25:12.97\00:25:14.31 That is really, really cool. 00:25:14.34\00:25:15.68 We are joined by Dee Casper, 00:25:15.71\00:25:18.85 who is your evangelism director. 00:25:18.88\00:25:22.38 And Lizbeth Cortes? 00:25:22.42\00:25:25.59 Yes, that's right. From where, Lizbeth? 00:25:25.62\00:25:27.89 I live in Mississippi, 00:25:27.92\00:25:29.26 where that's my parents are from. 00:25:29.29\00:25:30.63 From Mississippi? Yes. 00:25:30.66\00:25:31.99 You don't look like a Mississippian. 00:25:32.03\00:25:34.43 I'm originally from Mexico, that's where I was born. 00:25:34.46\00:25:36.63 Excellent. Do you speak Spanish? 00:25:36.67\00:25:38.23 Si, hablo espaņol. Me alegro, bueno. 00:25:38.27\00:25:42.34 I need to find out how you two get together, 00:25:42.37\00:25:44.41 'cause I know a little of your story, 00:25:44.44\00:25:46.14 I know a lot of Dee's story. 00:25:46.17\00:25:48.44 Dee hasn't been a Seventh-Day Adventist that long 00:25:48.48\00:25:51.61 and his coming was fairly dramatic, 00:25:51.65\00:25:53.25 so how did you two, 00:25:53.28\00:25:54.62 you know, get together? 00:25:54.65\00:25:58.02 The co-founder of UnScene Media Group, 00:25:58.05\00:26:00.02 his name is Ben Middleton. 00:26:00.06\00:26:01.62 Ben is actually the one that I met, 00:26:01.66\00:26:03.73 here at 3ABN camp meeting actually in 2010. 00:26:03.76\00:26:06.19 Part of my testimony 00:26:06.23\00:26:07.56 is that David Asscherick asked for my name 00:26:07.60\00:26:08.93 in the middle of the sermon, on the front row. 00:26:08.96\00:26:11.10 I didn't want to be on the front row, 00:26:11.13\00:26:12.47 but Angie Lomacang made me sit up there. 00:26:12.50\00:26:14.37 And then he asked my name, 00:26:14.40\00:26:15.74 when I went to go meet David during lunch 00:26:15.77\00:26:17.11 right after that happened, 00:26:17.14\00:26:18.47 that's where I met Ben. 00:26:18.51\00:26:19.84 We became friends from then on, a year... 00:26:19.87\00:26:21.51 and then I went to RISE right after that, 00:26:21.54\00:26:23.45 part of that was from his encouragement 00:26:23.48\00:26:24.81 and it just kind of providential leading, 00:26:24.85\00:26:26.78 and then Ben started this ministry 00:26:26.82\00:26:28.52 with Ryan a year later, 00:26:28.55\00:26:30.05 and then I helped them in GYC, I drove down. 00:26:30.09\00:26:34.12 Most of them flew down, they needed another vehicle 00:26:34.16\00:26:36.79 to get from where they were staying to GYC and back. 00:26:36.83\00:26:38.89 So I stayed with them in 2000... 00:26:38.93\00:26:42.56 GYC Orlando, wherever that was. 00:26:42.60\00:26:44.47 So I met them a few years ago 00:26:44.50\00:26:45.83 and then, God convicted me to move back to Illinois. 00:26:45.87\00:26:48.67 I was working in Tennessee as a Bible worker 00:26:48.70\00:26:50.31 and an elder in the local church 00:26:50.34\00:26:51.67 and then was teaching at Heritage Academy 00:26:51.71\00:26:53.04 as well in the Bible class. 00:26:53.07\00:26:54.68 And God convicted me to come back to Illinois, 00:26:54.71\00:26:57.28 but what I wasn't sure about was what I was going to do. 00:26:57.31\00:26:59.95 And even the local pastor, 00:26:59.98\00:27:01.38 when I called and talked to him, he said, 00:27:01.42\00:27:02.75 "So let me get this straight, you're coming to Illinois, 00:27:02.78\00:27:05.32 but you don't have a job 00:27:05.35\00:27:06.69 or anyway to provide for yourself?" 00:27:06.72\00:27:08.06 I said, "Yes, that's correct." 00:27:08.09\00:27:09.42 And then he said, "Well, I'll be praying for you." 00:27:09.46\00:27:12.53 And I talked to Toman, 00:27:12.56\00:27:14.16 and who used to work here at 3ABN and Tom said, 00:27:14.20\00:27:16.13 "Why don't you make a resume, 00:27:16.16\00:27:17.50 I'll see what I can come up with." 00:27:17.53\00:27:18.93 I talked to Ryan and Ben a couple days later, 00:27:18.97\00:27:21.40 they asked, if I would consult 00:27:21.44\00:27:22.77 for the ministry to some degree, 00:27:22.80\00:27:25.01 for some of their planning in evangelism stuff. 00:27:25.04\00:27:27.14 And then Ryan said... 00:27:27.18\00:27:28.51 I said, "What are your biggest needs." 00:27:28.54\00:27:29.88 He says, "Well, 00:27:29.91\00:27:31.25 actually we need someone to teach our Bible classes 00:27:31.28\00:27:32.61 and someone to do some of the preaching 00:27:32.65\00:27:33.98 and other stuff." 00:27:34.02\00:27:35.35 I thought, that's funny, that's kind of what I do. 00:27:35.38\00:27:36.72 And I said, "Well, send me the job description 00:27:36.75\00:27:38.09 and I'll pray about it." 00:27:38.12\00:27:39.45 And the resume I just made for Toman 00:27:39.49\00:27:41.29 and the job description 00:27:41.32\00:27:42.66 that Ryan had made for this position, 00:27:42.69\00:27:44.33 without thinking of me for this position 00:27:44.36\00:27:45.86 were literally exactly the same, 00:27:45.89\00:27:48.73 to a T like everything they asked 00:27:48.76\00:27:50.37 for I had experience in doing. 00:27:50.40\00:27:52.23 And that's not coincidence. 00:27:52.27\00:27:53.60 No. Yeah. 00:27:53.64\00:27:54.97 And he wasn't looking for me. Right. 00:27:55.00\00:27:56.34 And even whenever he told me that they had this position, 00:27:56.37\00:27:58.21 I just already help out from time to time 00:27:58.24\00:28:00.04 living somewhere else 00:28:00.08\00:28:01.41 having no idea it would be a fulltime venture for me. 00:28:01.44\00:28:03.01 Yeah. 00:28:03.04\00:28:04.38 And so I've been here for about a year and a half now. 00:28:04.41\00:28:07.35 And I'm absolutely thrilled 00:28:07.38\00:28:08.95 and we are seeing God work in mighty ways. 00:28:08.98\00:28:11.09 So for both of you this is kind of the faith walk. 00:28:11.12\00:28:13.56 But it's also a fulfillment of it 00:28:13.59\00:28:16.19 maybe even an unspoken dream. 00:28:16.22\00:28:17.56 Yes. 00:28:17.59\00:28:18.93 About something that was in your heart to do, 00:28:18.96\00:28:20.70 God just gave you the platform upon which to do it. 00:28:20.73\00:28:23.53 Oh, I came kicking and screaming. 00:28:23.57\00:28:24.90 Yeah. 00:28:24.93\00:28:26.27 I didn't get your word, 00:28:26.30\00:28:27.64 I don't wanna be in front of people. 00:28:27.67\00:28:29.00 So I... 00:28:29.04\00:28:30.37 when John Lomacang said a few years ago, 00:28:30.41\00:28:31.74 that this young man's gonna do evangelism in Carbondale, 00:28:31.77\00:28:33.11 which did happened three years after he said that. 00:28:33.14\00:28:34.48 I thought he was out of his mind. 00:28:34.51\00:28:35.84 I don't wanna speak, 00:28:35.88\00:28:37.21 I don't wanna be in front of people, 00:28:37.25\00:28:38.58 it's terrifying, it's scary. 00:28:38.61\00:28:40.52 But I realized that where I feel the most at home 00:28:40.55\00:28:43.02 is where God has led me. 00:28:43.05\00:28:44.59 It feels natural 00:28:44.62\00:28:45.95 but it's scary at the same time. 00:28:45.99\00:28:47.32 I don't really know how to explain it, 00:28:47.36\00:28:48.69 like I know what to do 00:28:48.72\00:28:50.06 but it's still kinda scary to do it. 00:28:50.09\00:28:51.43 Yeah, yeah. 00:28:51.46\00:28:52.79 And now your face is everywhere. 00:28:52.83\00:28:54.16 I know, that's the scary thing, 00:28:54.20\00:28:55.53 like the face of the ministry now, it is terrifying, 00:28:55.56\00:28:57.37 but God knows how to work. 00:28:57.40\00:28:58.73 He knows... 00:28:58.77\00:29:00.10 You know, it's good that the Lord keeps a little healthy 00:29:00.14\00:29:01.47 Christian fear in there... 00:29:01.50\00:29:02.84 Yeah. 00:29:02.87\00:29:04.21 Because you know, it's not on you, it's on God. 00:29:04.24\00:29:05.57 And if you go up there with no fear 00:29:05.61\00:29:06.94 and figure you got this 00:29:06.98\00:29:08.31 and then the devil will show you, 00:29:08.34\00:29:09.68 well, you ain't got this. 00:29:09.71\00:29:11.05 You need Jesus. Yeah. 00:29:11.08\00:29:13.52 Lizbeth, how long have you been with here on campus? 00:29:13.55\00:29:18.62 I've been here since August of last year. 00:29:18.65\00:29:21.36 Okay, now did you come with any media experience at all 00:29:21.39\00:29:24.23 or just expectations? 00:29:24.26\00:29:25.59 I did, I went to school for two years 00:29:25.63\00:29:28.10 doing mass media communications. 00:29:28.13\00:29:30.23 Uh-huh. Yeah. 00:29:30.27\00:29:31.60 Now what is interesting is because you take students 00:29:31.63\00:29:33.70 who have absolutely no television background, 00:29:33.74\00:29:36.20 no media background, and you also have some... 00:29:36.24\00:29:39.34 Priscilla said the same thing, who have some. 00:29:39.37\00:29:41.51 So obviously, you're giving them 00:29:41.54\00:29:42.88 an opportunity to expand 00:29:42.91\00:29:44.25 on what they have learned even in school. 00:29:44.28\00:29:46.55 So this is pretty quality stuff. 00:29:46.58\00:29:47.98 This is not just shot in the arm 00:29:48.02\00:29:49.42 kind of take it as you go, this is good stuff. 00:29:49.45\00:29:51.49 Yeah. 00:29:51.52\00:29:52.85 And I'm doing, 00:29:52.89\00:29:54.22 I'm trying to sell you here same thing. 00:29:54.26\00:29:55.59 This is a commercial. 00:29:55.62\00:29:57.23 That when they come 00:29:57.26\00:29:58.59 even if you've had some education, 00:29:58.63\00:30:00.93 some training, 00:30:00.96\00:30:02.30 you can top it off or learn more 00:30:02.33\00:30:03.80 or expand by coming to Unscene, 00:30:03.83\00:30:06.94 that's good, that's good, that's good, Dee. 00:30:06.97\00:30:08.30 Yeah, one of the reasons 00:30:08.34\00:30:09.67 why we started and exist right now 00:30:09.70\00:30:11.97 is because we're doing something 00:30:12.01\00:30:13.34 that really doesn't exist anywhere. 00:30:13.38\00:30:15.91 To be able to come and receive evangelism training 00:30:15.94\00:30:19.25 at an evangelism school 00:30:19.28\00:30:20.95 and also to be able to receive media training 00:30:20.98\00:30:23.22 but in the context of 00:30:23.25\00:30:24.92 how do I communicate the gospel through this media. 00:30:24.95\00:30:28.12 There're just aren't opportunities for young person 00:30:28.16\00:30:31.83 who is passionate about serving God, 00:30:31.86\00:30:33.86 to be able to learn, 00:30:33.90\00:30:35.23 and to be able to get that experience. 00:30:35.26\00:30:37.63 And so we've started 00:30:37.67\00:30:39.60 what we have out of the necessity 00:30:39.63\00:30:41.07 and out of the burden that God placed on our heart, 00:30:41.10\00:30:42.84 of course, to be able to provide 00:30:42.87\00:30:45.67 those options for young people. 00:30:45.71\00:30:47.04 Yeah, yeah. 00:30:47.08\00:30:48.41 This is... and I wanna 00:30:48.44\00:30:49.78 just sort of walk us through this 00:30:49.81\00:30:51.15 because this is where the rubber meets the road 00:30:51.18\00:30:52.51 for this particular niche of this ministry. 00:30:52.55\00:30:54.38 One, it is... 00:30:54.42\00:30:56.99 it'll give you skills 00:30:57.02\00:30:58.35 as far as media production is concerned, 00:30:58.39\00:31:01.82 but those skills are tightly wedded 00:31:01.86\00:31:04.39 with evangelism. 00:31:04.43\00:31:06.36 So you have a situation here 00:31:06.39\00:31:08.93 where you gotta small number of people, 00:31:08.96\00:31:11.47 who are taught hands-on very close, 00:31:11.50\00:31:16.04 small group who wed evangelism with media 00:31:16.07\00:31:20.34 and that to me is an unbeatable 00:31:20.38\00:31:22.38 and very occurrent thing to do, man. 00:31:22.41\00:31:25.85 This is the time for that kind of, 00:31:25.88\00:31:27.22 that kind of marriage. 00:31:27.25\00:31:28.58 And our burden was that, 00:31:28.62\00:31:30.25 in order to make someone a great Christian filmmaker, 00:31:30.29\00:31:32.85 our first burden was actually to make them great Christians, 00:31:32.89\00:31:36.09 because if you just give someone technical skills 00:31:36.12\00:31:37.86 and hopefully use it for Jesus, that's one thing, 00:31:37.89\00:31:39.73 but our burden was to enable them 00:31:39.76\00:31:41.73 to take these gifts by continually infusing 00:31:41.76\00:31:44.30 everything we do with a Christian influence 00:31:44.33\00:31:46.94 in a family atmosphere. 00:31:46.97\00:31:48.30 So Liz is actually one of our staff members, 00:31:48.34\00:31:49.67 she's the director of development 00:31:49.70\00:31:51.17 and but she's also kind of serving as the girls' dean, 00:31:51.21\00:31:53.58 in that sense too, 00:31:53.61\00:31:54.94 'cause all the girls were in the home together. 00:31:54.98\00:31:56.31 So it's an environment where everyone wants to feel 00:31:56.34\00:31:58.75 like a home and like a family, not just instruction, 00:31:58.78\00:32:02.02 and lots of work, and lots of doing. 00:32:02.05\00:32:04.02 And when we had our film camp last summer, 00:32:04.05\00:32:06.59 that was one of the main things 00:32:06.62\00:32:07.96 we heard continually from the kids was, 00:32:07.99\00:32:09.32 "This feels like a family to us." 00:32:09.36\00:32:10.69 Yeah. 00:32:10.73\00:32:12.06 "We have worship together, we have meals together, 00:32:12.09\00:32:13.43 we traveled together." 00:32:13.46\00:32:14.80 And so it's a close-knit group, 00:32:14.83\00:32:16.16 it's not just a lot of technical doings. 00:32:16.20\00:32:17.97 And we should talk about that for just a second on film camp. 00:32:18.00\00:32:20.20 I want to... 00:32:20.24\00:32:21.57 I really want to share some miracles, 00:32:21.60\00:32:23.91 but since we just... 00:32:23.94\00:32:25.34 we showed the promo video for the film camp. 00:32:25.37\00:32:28.38 I don't know, do you wanna share little bit 00:32:28.41\00:32:29.74 about what that was like 00:32:29.78\00:32:31.11 and I think we have some pictures 00:32:31.15\00:32:32.48 to go with that as well. 00:32:32.51\00:32:33.85 The film camp was amazing, I mean, all the kids that came, 00:32:33.88\00:32:37.09 all of them want to come back this next summer 00:32:37.12\00:32:39.65 which I thought, if you came and do a film camp, 00:32:39.69\00:32:41.52 you kind of have that experience 00:32:41.56\00:32:42.89 and that was enough, 00:32:42.92\00:32:44.26 but they had such a phenomenal experience. 00:32:44.29\00:32:45.79 One young person says, 00:32:45.83\00:32:47.50 "I don't really like singing hymns." 00:32:47.53\00:32:49.00 And healthy food isn't really his thing 00:32:49.03\00:32:50.53 because he grew up in a background 00:32:50.57\00:32:51.93 where that's done all the time, 00:32:51.97\00:32:53.44 you know, he wants to kind of try other things. 00:32:53.47\00:32:54.90 Sure. 00:32:54.94\00:32:56.27 But he said, "Something about this place is different." 00:32:56.30\00:32:58.81 We were just singing hymns a capella, 00:32:58.84\00:33:00.18 we didn't have a keyboard or anything else, 00:33:00.21\00:33:01.98 and he liked it, and we were serving healthy 00:33:02.01\00:33:04.05 but delicious simple food, 00:33:04.08\00:33:05.78 and he liked it, and he said, 00:33:05.81\00:33:07.15 he literally had the best experience of his life. 00:33:07.18\00:33:08.62 Praise the Lord. 00:33:08.65\00:33:09.98 And so and all the young people had great, great time, 00:33:10.02\00:33:12.75 they got together 00:33:12.79\00:33:14.12 well, they get along well together and so on. 00:33:14.16\00:33:17.03 Yeah. 00:33:17.06\00:33:18.39 And as far as any pictures, 00:33:18.43\00:33:19.76 I'm not sure what they have or what they have shown, 00:33:19.79\00:33:21.13 but that's... 00:33:21.16\00:33:22.50 I think they put some together, they... 00:33:22.53\00:33:23.87 That's actually the whole group there. 00:33:23.90\00:33:25.23 So that's all the students plus the instructional staff 00:33:25.27\00:33:26.77 and there's another picture I think after that. 00:33:26.80\00:33:29.80 And this is some of them working together 00:33:29.84\00:33:32.01 during an editing workshops, 00:33:32.04\00:33:33.38 Ryan's teach them how to edit 00:33:33.41\00:33:34.74 on final cut pro on the laptops that we have brought in. 00:33:34.78\00:33:36.95 Should be another picture and this is in filming. 00:33:36.98\00:33:39.98 Actually in a 3ABN studios, we partnered with 3ABN, 00:33:40.02\00:33:42.45 so this is on studio E, 00:33:42.48\00:33:44.49 one of the videos they did on testimonies. 00:33:44.52\00:33:46.25 Just had it filmed someone's testimony 00:33:46.29\00:33:47.82 in an engaging way. 00:33:47.86\00:33:49.19 This is one of our students using a DGI Osmos, 00:33:49.22\00:33:51.96 it's a hand gimbal, 00:33:51.99\00:33:53.36 they can use for movement shots, 00:33:53.40\00:33:56.33 and I think we may have one more... 00:33:56.36\00:33:58.07 this is one of our students using the Phantom 4 00:33:58.10\00:34:00.50 drone by DGI, 00:34:00.54\00:34:02.27 their newest drone that they came out 00:34:02.30\00:34:03.64 with a 4K drone. 00:34:03.67\00:34:05.01 It's actually chasing 00:34:05.04\00:34:06.37 some of the cows next door to the property 00:34:06.41\00:34:07.98 and then we have fun too. 00:34:08.01\00:34:09.34 So we go play soccer, we have water balloon fights 00:34:09.38\00:34:11.48 and this is actually the kids tubing on the boat. 00:34:11.51\00:34:14.28 Very last day. That's very last day. 00:34:14.32\00:34:15.85 Celebrate. Celebrate all the hard work. 00:34:15.88\00:34:17.59 Yes, and the sunburn won't bother you 00:34:17.62\00:34:19.65 because you're leaving tomorrow. 00:34:19.69\00:34:21.02 Yeah, the kids actually can sav up 00:34:21.06\00:34:22.39 and just go home, yeah. 00:34:22.42\00:34:23.76 And then this is the film festival. 00:34:23.79\00:34:25.13 You were there for that, right? Yes, I really was, yeah. 00:34:25.16\00:34:26.73 Yeah, really, well done. 00:34:26.76\00:34:28.36 And your had some fairly young students 00:34:28.40\00:34:30.53 for your film camp. 00:34:30.57\00:34:31.90 13-17 is the age range, yeah, and it went very, very well. 00:34:31.93\00:34:35.57 Probably about a 100 people come to it too 00:34:35.60\00:34:37.27 from the community and from the church, 00:34:37.31\00:34:39.01 and they showed it in the Thompsonville church, 00:34:39.04\00:34:40.78 and on the big LED board at the back. 00:34:40.81\00:34:42.14 It went really well. 00:34:42.18\00:34:43.51 This is really cool, guys, 00:34:43.55\00:34:44.88 because one, you're on the campus of 3ABN, 00:34:44.91\00:34:46.98 so you have access to 3ABN and all of its stuff, 00:34:47.02\00:34:51.69 but you're individual in that, 00:34:51.72\00:34:54.79 your students are your students. 00:34:54.82\00:34:56.16 Yes. 00:34:56.19\00:34:57.53 And if we get an opportunity to maybe plug them into 3ABN, 00:34:57.56\00:34:59.66 we do so 00:34:59.69\00:35:01.03 'cause that part of the extracurricular stuff 00:35:01.06\00:35:03.73 that you do, but this is... 00:35:03.77\00:35:05.27 you may be the greatest unknown, 00:35:05.30\00:35:08.84 unseen but unknown secret in Adventism 00:35:08.87\00:35:11.81 because you're doing some wonderful stuff. 00:35:11.84\00:35:13.34 You've got ARISE training. Yes. 00:35:13.38\00:35:15.34 So you got that solid Bible background, 00:35:15.38\00:35:17.55 you've got an Andrews University degree, 00:35:17.58\00:35:19.45 so you've got a great marriage of two individuals 00:35:19.48\00:35:22.48 who are passionate about what you're doing, 00:35:22.52\00:35:24.32 and this is why this is such an important thing 00:35:24.35\00:35:27.76 why we're giving it this time because this is a great place. 00:35:27.79\00:35:31.13 If you don't quite know what you do, 00:35:31.16\00:35:32.69 you hear the call of God in your mind, 00:35:32.73\00:35:34.06 "Hey, I need to do something for the call of Christ, 00:35:34.10\00:35:36.23 but I don't know what to do." 00:35:36.26\00:35:37.73 This may give you an opportunity 00:35:37.77\00:35:39.33 to kind of sort out the call, 00:35:39.37\00:35:41.10 and to combine an exciting career 00:35:41.14\00:35:45.34 with ministry, with evangelism 00:35:45.37\00:35:48.54 that is an unbeatable combination. 00:35:48.58\00:35:50.35 Yeah, we've actually, 00:35:50.38\00:35:51.71 because we've developed partnerships 00:35:51.75\00:35:53.08 with other ministries throughout the church, 00:35:53.11\00:35:54.45 many in the Adventist church 00:35:54.48\00:35:55.82 recognized that media is where we need to be moving. 00:35:55.85\00:35:57.19 Yes. 00:35:57.22\00:35:58.55 They don't have anyone to do it and so they're asking us, 00:35:58.59\00:36:00.56 "When your interns are finished, 00:36:00.59\00:36:01.92 would you be willing to let them know 00:36:01.96\00:36:03.29 that we have openings." 00:36:03.32\00:36:04.73 So when people come, it's like film school, 00:36:04.76\00:36:07.20 evangelism school together, 00:36:07.23\00:36:08.56 but when you leave, 00:36:08.60\00:36:09.93 you have skills that can literally lead 00:36:09.96\00:36:11.30 to immediate employment once you leave. 00:36:11.33\00:36:12.67 Yeah. 00:36:12.70\00:36:14.04 So different ministries throughout the church, 00:36:14.07\00:36:15.40 self supporting and conference are like have interests 00:36:15.44\00:36:17.61 in what it is that we are doing to receive these interns 00:36:17.64\00:36:20.64 once they've finished to come work for them. 00:36:20.68\00:36:22.31 And as you well know, most ministries don't care 00:36:22.34\00:36:24.28 what degree you have, 00:36:24.31\00:36:25.65 they wanna know what skill level you have. 00:36:25.68\00:36:27.02 Correct. 00:36:27.05\00:36:28.38 And so you're turning out people with skill level 00:36:28.42\00:36:29.75 and that's what ministries want, 00:36:29.78\00:36:31.12 they want people who know what they're doing, 00:36:31.15\00:36:32.49 plus they want people who are spiritual. 00:36:32.52\00:36:33.86 Yes. 00:36:33.89\00:36:35.22 And I think that's an integral part 00:36:35.26\00:36:36.59 of what you're trying to do, we don't... 00:36:36.62\00:36:37.96 as you well said, we don't want to just turn out a technician, 00:36:37.99\00:36:39.89 we want to turn out a minister, who has the technical skills. 00:36:39.93\00:36:43.26 And that's a great thing. Exactly. 00:36:43.30\00:36:45.20 Yeah. 00:36:45.23\00:36:46.57 So I guess... 00:36:46.60\00:36:48.57 Yeah. 00:36:48.60\00:36:49.94 ..there's been so many miracles 00:36:49.97\00:36:51.47 that have happened as we've started this thing, 00:36:51.51\00:36:53.58 and you know, 00:36:53.61\00:36:57.01 God doesn't always open the path right away, 00:36:57.05\00:36:59.75 and that was one of the scary things 00:36:59.78\00:37:01.25 that I had to realize in stepping forward 00:37:01.28\00:37:03.25 was that God had put this place, 00:37:03.28\00:37:05.55 this burden on my heart, 00:37:05.59\00:37:07.09 and he had never withdrawn it, it remained there, 00:37:07.12\00:37:10.56 and he told me 00:37:10.59\00:37:13.43 one summer that it was time to move forward with it. 00:37:13.46\00:37:16.33 And so I realized, well, if we're gonna run a school, 00:37:16.36\00:37:20.00 there's some things what we need, 00:37:20.04\00:37:21.47 we need a place to stay, we need a house, 00:37:21.50\00:37:23.71 we need transportation, we need people, 00:37:23.74\00:37:26.11 instructors to teach, 00:37:26.14\00:37:27.51 and that was part of the miracle of God 00:37:27.54\00:37:29.94 providing you, Dee, 00:37:29.98\00:37:31.98 and some others to come and help. 00:37:32.01\00:37:34.08 And Liz too, 00:37:34.12\00:37:35.45 'cause she has the unique gifting in the sense 00:37:35.48\00:37:36.95 that she studied media 00:37:36.99\00:37:38.42 but she also studied business 00:37:38.45\00:37:39.99 so is our director of development 00:37:40.02\00:37:41.56 and she does graphic design. 00:37:41.59\00:37:43.43 So God has been very faithful to us, 00:37:43.46\00:37:44.89 to bring us multi-gifted people 00:37:44.93\00:37:46.49 'cause we can't bring in seven different departments 00:37:46.53\00:37:48.86 worth of people at this stage with our budget. 00:37:48.90\00:37:50.23 Right. 00:37:50.27\00:37:51.60 But God bringing people like Liz and like myself that have, 00:37:51.63\00:37:53.64 you know, I've had to run unprofitable 00:37:53.67\00:37:55.30 for I've been lot of networking before, 00:37:55.34\00:37:57.17 Ryan having technical skills, 00:37:57.21\00:37:58.54 he can problem solve anything, whether it be manual, 00:37:58.57\00:38:01.14 labor or media, 00:38:01.18\00:38:02.68 God has been really good to us 00:38:02.71\00:38:04.05 even though it may be a small team, 00:38:04.08\00:38:05.61 there's broad gifting that he's given us, 00:38:05.65\00:38:07.28 and we're grateful for that. 00:38:07.32\00:38:08.65 Liz, I just wanna ask you, 00:38:08.68\00:38:10.02 you've been here a little while, 00:38:10.05\00:38:11.42 from what you saw your coming to, 00:38:11.45\00:38:13.36 to what God has you doing now. 00:38:13.39\00:38:15.52 Give me some sense of how God is unfolding this 00:38:15.56\00:38:18.63 and opening it up, opening it up to you? 00:38:18.66\00:38:22.16 Well, I feel a lot more comfortable doing media, 00:38:22.20\00:38:25.27 where I have been for such a long time. 00:38:25.30\00:38:28.80 And coming here to Unscene, 00:38:28.84\00:38:31.17 it has helped me develop a lot of my business skills, 00:38:31.21\00:38:34.61 just coming out fresh out of college 00:38:34.64\00:38:36.48 and so it has really stretched me along ways. 00:38:36.51\00:38:39.71 I've learned a lot of new things and... 00:38:39.75\00:38:42.75 Stretched is an understatement. 00:38:42.78\00:38:45.75 It's been great and also just interacting 00:38:45.79\00:38:48.66 with the interns too, the ladies, 00:38:48.69\00:38:51.99 trying to become their friend 00:38:52.03\00:38:53.66 and also just 00:38:53.70\00:38:56.97 the whole experience of evangelism, 00:38:57.00\00:38:59.03 and media is something that I'm very passionate about too. 00:38:59.07\00:39:03.71 But to also put in the business side 00:39:03.74\00:39:06.44 has been interesting for me and I've enjoyed it so far. 00:39:06.47\00:39:10.95 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:39:10.98\00:39:12.31 By the way, the good cook you were asking about, 00:39:12.35\00:39:13.85 it's her. 00:39:13.88\00:39:15.22 We have heard, the rumor has leaked out 00:39:18.09\00:39:20.36 and we praise the Lord for that. 00:39:20.39\00:39:22.79 How has your spiritual life been impacted since being here? 00:39:22.82\00:39:27.30 Well, like I said before, you know, 00:39:27.33\00:39:29.33 I just graduated from college and you know, 00:39:29.36\00:39:32.27 when you're in school you do have to take initiative 00:39:32.30\00:39:35.40 for some of the things that you do on your own, 00:39:35.44\00:39:37.37 but just coming out into the real world, 00:39:37.41\00:39:39.87 it really has pushed me 00:39:39.91\00:39:42.24 to seek for myself a lot of answers, 00:39:42.28\00:39:47.42 and just the atmosphere that we have here too. 00:39:47.45\00:39:53.56 I've mentioned to some of my friends, 00:39:53.59\00:39:55.99 and my parents, and my siblings 00:39:56.02\00:39:57.89 that I feel like I'm a teenager all over again, 00:39:57.93\00:40:00.70 because I need to figure out what I'm... 00:40:00.73\00:40:03.73 what I'm like and what my beliefs are 00:40:03.77\00:40:05.97 and everything. 00:40:06.00\00:40:07.34 And just been here at UnScene Media 00:40:07.37\00:40:09.20 has really helped me to establish 00:40:09.24\00:40:12.01 what I really believe in. 00:40:12.04\00:40:14.61 What I want to... 00:40:14.64\00:40:17.05 how I want to minister to others. 00:40:17.08\00:40:19.18 And just the example that I have here 00:40:19.21\00:40:21.15 with these two gentlemen as well. 00:40:21.18\00:40:23.18 Praise the Lord. Yeah. 00:40:48.28\00:40:49.61 No backhoe, just a garden hoe in our backs. 00:40:49.64\00:40:50.98 That's how this thing went in there. 00:40:51.01\00:40:52.35 Excellent. 00:40:52.38\00:40:54.52 Another picture of the house actually coming in 00:40:54.55\00:40:56.65 when they brought it in. 00:40:56.69\00:40:58.02 And it was a miracle how this thing happened. 00:40:58.05\00:41:00.62 'Cause we didn't have money to do anything. 00:41:00.66\00:41:03.66 I couldn't even pay my bills from month to month. 00:41:03.69\00:41:05.96 But God impressed me to go 00:41:05.99\00:41:07.60 and look for a mobile home 00:41:07.63\00:41:09.53 that we could install there on the property 00:41:09.56\00:41:11.53 after we'd talk with 3ABN 00:41:11.57\00:41:13.64 and agreed on how it would work, etc. 00:41:13.67\00:41:16.54 And so I found this, the perfect unit. 00:41:16.57\00:41:19.21 We did some customizations to it, 00:41:19.24\00:41:20.94 so that it would fit kind of our dorm type 00:41:20.98\00:41:23.41 living environment and what we would need. 00:41:23.45\00:41:25.51 And it was gonna cost about $100,000. 00:41:25.55\00:41:28.62 Where you're gonna get $100,000 from? 00:41:28.65\00:41:30.85 Well, for somebody that doesn't have money, 00:41:30.89\00:41:32.39 you go and you ask the bank, 00:41:32.42\00:41:33.76 "Hey, can you loan me a $100,000. Right? 00:41:33.79\00:41:35.96 For somebody who doesn't have income, 00:41:35.99\00:41:38.29 the chances of you getting that, probably not, right? 00:41:38.33\00:41:41.63 Yeah. 00:41:41.66\00:41:43.57 But we were praying through it 00:41:43.60\00:41:45.10 and through a series of miracles... 00:41:45.13\00:41:47.30 We don't have time to share all the details 00:41:47.34\00:41:49.17 even though they are incredible. 00:41:49.20\00:41:51.77 God allowed the loan to be approved 00:41:51.81\00:41:55.14 with a $10, 000 down payment. 00:41:55.18\00:41:57.65 Where we're gonna get $10,000 from? 00:41:57.68\00:42:00.62 I had no idea. 00:42:00.65\00:42:03.12 But God brought us in contact with the right people and... 00:42:03.15\00:42:07.39 Yeah. 00:42:07.42\00:42:08.76 They were actually my former landlords. 00:42:08.79\00:42:10.13 So I lived in Tennessee, and they... 00:42:10.16\00:42:13.50 I was taking care of their house 00:42:13.53\00:42:14.86 when I lived there, 00:42:14.90\00:42:16.23 because they live in California now. 00:42:16.26\00:42:17.60 Rod and Mary Cassatt are their names. 00:42:17.63\00:42:18.97 And they started a foundation, 00:42:19.00\00:42:20.34 they lost their daughter tragically. 00:42:20.37\00:42:21.70 And a reckless driver hit their daughter head on. 00:42:21.74\00:42:24.87 19 years old, their only child and she died a few years ago. 00:42:24.91\00:42:29.11 And they determined that they were not gonna 00:42:29.14\00:42:31.38 let the legacy of her life end there. 00:42:31.41\00:42:33.62 And they started a foundation... 00:42:33.65\00:42:35.28 they were just starting a foundation. 00:42:35.32\00:42:36.75 When I had spoken to Ryan 00:42:36.79\00:42:38.42 and he agreed to come to UnScene Media Group, 00:42:38.45\00:42:40.09 in her honor and her memory, 00:42:40.12\00:42:41.96 to support ministries like ours that she was involved in. 00:42:41.99\00:42:45.19 And so I said, "You need to meet Ryan 00:42:45.23\00:42:47.30 at the general conference." 00:42:47.33\00:42:48.73 And so Ryan met him, he spoke with him 00:42:48.76\00:42:50.27 about their history of what we were doing, 00:42:50.30\00:42:51.63 what we're wanting to do, what our needs are. 00:42:51.67\00:42:53.64 And literally, the day that that loan was approved, 00:42:53.67\00:42:56.81 they called Ryan saying, 00:42:56.84\00:42:58.17 "Hey, we've been praying about it 00:42:58.21\00:42:59.54 and we've decided that we want to give you the down payment 00:42:59.57\00:43:01.01 for this house." 00:43:01.04\00:43:02.38 Not knowing that the loan was approved that day. 00:43:02.41\00:43:04.15 Yes. They didn't know. 00:43:04.18\00:43:05.68 So the very day the loan is approved, 00:43:05.71\00:43:07.15 we get an unsolicited phone call... 00:43:07.18\00:43:08.52 Praise God. 00:43:08.55\00:43:09.88 ..and from these dear friends of ours... 00:43:09.92\00:43:11.25 Excellent. 00:43:11.29\00:43:12.62 ..who gave the money 00:43:12.65\00:43:13.99 for the down payment on the house. 00:43:14.02\00:43:15.36 Yeah. 00:43:15.39\00:43:16.73 Which could never happened were not further open at once. 00:43:16.76\00:43:18.26 That's God's timing. It is. 00:43:18.29\00:43:19.69 And isn't it interesting that you are housed 00:43:19.73\00:43:23.26 on the original two acres... 00:43:23.30\00:43:24.63 Yes. 00:43:24.67\00:43:26.00 ..of the 3ABN miracle story. 00:43:26.03\00:43:27.37 And we've seen tons more miracles. 00:43:27.40\00:43:28.74 In fact, if someone wants to hear more of that story, 00:43:28.77\00:43:31.01 they can just type, The UnScene story, 00:43:31.04\00:43:33.68 in YouTube or if you just type UnScene Media Group 00:43:33.71\00:43:35.98 and you'll find it listed there. 00:43:36.01\00:43:37.51 We're actually gonna upload it to our YouTube page as well. 00:43:37.55\00:43:39.21 But... 00:43:39.25\00:43:40.58 Just make sure you spell UnScene. 00:43:40.62\00:43:41.95 U-N-S-C-E-N-E Media Group, yes. 00:43:41.98\00:43:44.95 Another miracle that we had was, 00:43:44.99\00:43:47.46 we had told the UnScene story actually at a church. 00:43:47.49\00:43:50.26 Small rural church in a state in the south. 00:43:50.29\00:43:52.93 And a friend of mine was a pastor there, 00:43:52.96\00:43:54.36 he wanted me to preach before I left the south, 00:43:54.40\00:43:56.23 couldn't, so I came back later. 00:43:56.26\00:43:58.03 And we told the story, he says, 00:43:58.07\00:43:59.67 "Look, I will only do more than a speaker's remuneration. 00:43:59.70\00:44:01.64 Just give me a few minutes, few days, like 10 days, 00:44:01.67\00:44:04.21 we had a board meeting." 00:44:04.24\00:44:05.57 Sits down in the board and says, 00:44:05.61\00:44:06.94 "I wanna help these guys out. 00:44:06.98\00:44:08.31 I think we need to do something big." 00:44:08.34\00:44:10.21 And the one person that wasn't there when we preached 00:44:10.25\00:44:11.98 that sermon says, 00:44:12.01\00:44:13.35 "I think we should give them $200" 00:44:13.38\00:44:14.72 And everybody in the board yells at him and says, 00:44:14.75\00:44:16.32 "Absolutely not!" 00:44:16.35\00:44:17.85 And so, then we end up... 00:44:17.89\00:44:20.12 He says, "All right, well, what do you think?" 00:44:20.16\00:44:21.82 One person says, "$2000" and my Pastor friend thinks, 00:44:21.86\00:44:24.46 "This is amazing" because he got the poker face. 00:44:24.49\00:44:26.26 He just sits and he says, "Is there a second?" 00:44:26.29\00:44:29.26 Someone else says, "I think, we need to do more than that. 00:44:29.30\00:44:30.90 Well, let's give them $4000." 00:44:30.93\00:44:32.93 And there's this bidding war amongst the board members. 00:44:32.97\00:44:35.70 And the last number that ends at being said 00:44:35.74\00:44:37.61 in that board meeting with no... 00:44:37.64\00:44:38.97 Every time he says, "Is there a second?" 00:44:39.01\00:44:40.38 the number kept going up, $10,000. 00:44:40.41\00:44:43.04 See, a 75 member church in the south 00:44:43.08\00:44:46.38 gave a self-supporting ministry, 00:44:46.41\00:44:48.32 a church-supporting ministry, $10,000. 00:44:48.35\00:44:50.82 Yes, yes, yes. 00:44:50.85\00:44:52.29 And the last miracle that we had was, recently, 00:44:52.32\00:44:56.52 there's a lady who is kind of the heiress 00:44:56.56\00:44:59.93 to a large food corporation in the United States. 00:44:59.96\00:45:02.96 They own a lot of the food brands. 00:45:03.00\00:45:06.20 Somehow, someone she works with 00:45:06.23\00:45:07.57 got a hold of our stuff on YouTube. 00:45:07.60\00:45:09.87 They are not Seventh-day Adventists. 00:45:09.90\00:45:11.24 Just leading up to this though because just to set the stage. 00:45:11.27\00:45:15.11 I was going through a really difficult... 00:45:15.14\00:45:16.48 We were all going through a really difficult time. 00:45:16.51\00:45:18.61 Because we were stretched then, we are not making it 00:45:18.65\00:45:20.85 from month to month with bills that we have, 00:45:20.88\00:45:23.89 we are fallen behind with this and that. 00:45:23.92\00:45:25.89 And it's just been really stressful. 00:45:25.92\00:45:28.32 And just for those that think 00:45:28.36\00:45:30.43 that leading a ministry is glamorous, it's not. 00:45:30.46\00:45:35.16 And not just with the financial challenges 00:45:35.20\00:45:37.87 that we've had, but also 00:45:37.90\00:45:39.67 just so many personal attacks in different ways. 00:45:39.70\00:45:42.70 Just, you know, the devil knows exactly 00:45:42.74\00:45:45.11 what he can do to discourage each individual person 00:45:45.14\00:45:47.54 and he pushes those buttons. 00:45:47.58\00:45:49.94 And it had been really difficult, 00:45:49.98\00:45:51.51 I was struggling. 00:45:51.55\00:45:52.88 We just came back from a week of prayer. 00:45:52.91\00:45:54.95 And we couldn't afford for the... 00:45:54.98\00:45:58.52 just the expenses that month. 00:45:58.55\00:46:00.12 And I was stressed out, 00:46:00.16\00:46:01.49 I was pulling out with little hair I have here. 00:46:01.52\00:46:04.69 And it was just that evening, 00:46:04.73\00:46:07.03 you know, we're praying about it, 00:46:07.06\00:46:08.40 and I went, and I picked up this letter 00:46:08.43\00:46:09.96 from the post office, 00:46:10.00\00:46:11.33 and inside of there, opened it up, 00:46:11.37\00:46:15.54 and it said that, 00:46:15.57\00:46:17.57 "Hey, we are..." 00:46:17.61\00:46:19.54 this organization wanted to give us a grant for $5000. 00:46:19.57\00:46:24.75 And I thought, "Well, that's weird, 00:46:24.78\00:46:26.92 that's not usually how grants work." 00:46:26.95\00:46:28.78 We need to apply for that grant. 00:46:28.82\00:46:30.15 We didn't know who they are. 00:46:30.19\00:46:31.52 Yes, yes, we gotta go beg a little bit. 00:46:31.55\00:46:32.89 Open it up and how out comes the check for $5000. 00:46:32.92\00:46:35.26 Praise the Lord. The check was in the envelope. 00:46:35.29\00:46:36.79 Like, they didn't... 00:46:36.83\00:46:38.16 No screening, no send to something, 00:46:38.19\00:46:39.53 and they will send you, like literally, 00:46:39.56\00:46:40.90 never heard of them before. 00:46:40.93\00:46:42.66 First communication in front of them is a $5000 check. 00:46:42.70\00:46:44.83 Wow. 00:46:44.87\00:46:46.20 And just tell us, what you did with it? 00:46:46.23\00:46:47.57 Yeah. 00:46:47.60\00:46:48.94 So we've seen lots of miracles like this 00:46:48.97\00:46:50.61 to get us out of holes, you know, along the way, 00:46:50.64\00:46:53.34 but it's been a continual battle. 00:46:53.38\00:46:55.04 It's still a battle even now 00:46:55.08\00:46:56.41 where that has been the case but... 00:46:56.44\00:46:57.98 Yeah, we just had crazy things happened just every month. 00:46:58.01\00:47:00.75 Yeah. Yeah. 00:47:00.78\00:47:02.12 And not explainable like, I shared with you, Dee, 00:47:02.15\00:47:06.72 last night that... 00:47:06.76\00:47:08.09 Right before we were planning to come in 00:47:08.12\00:47:09.72 and record this program that issue with the website. 00:47:09.76\00:47:13.80 Our website, which we would be pitching for this, 00:47:13.83\00:47:16.97 obviously, telling people 00:47:17.00\00:47:18.33 how to find more information about us. 00:47:18.37\00:47:19.70 Just yesterday, he found out that 00:47:19.73\00:47:21.67 when you go to our website, when you click certain links, 00:47:21.70\00:47:24.01 someone has hacked into the website 00:47:24.04\00:47:25.87 and it's now re-directing people to adult websites 00:47:25.91\00:47:28.68 with immoral content on them. 00:47:28.71\00:47:30.45 And our donor page, specifically, 00:47:30.48\00:47:32.05 was the one that's doing this. 00:47:32.08\00:47:33.55 We didn't ask for this, we didn't do it, obviously, 00:47:33.58\00:47:35.72 and so we had to temporarily kind of shut it down 00:47:35.75\00:47:40.06 to get it where it can be, 00:47:40.09\00:47:41.42 you know, fixed and working again. 00:47:41.46\00:47:42.79 But it's been a little battles like 00:47:42.82\00:47:44.46 that just keep coming along the way 00:47:44.49\00:47:46.29 which tells me that somebody believes in us. 00:47:46.33\00:47:47.93 There you go. 00:47:47.96\00:47:49.30 That may be the greatest testament 00:47:49.33\00:47:50.67 that you're doing work for the Lord 00:47:50.70\00:47:52.03 because the devil is and you have to forgive 00:47:52.07\00:47:53.40 my pejorative of English messing with you. 00:47:53.44\00:47:54.77 Yeah. 00:47:54.80\00:47:56.14 You know, and when the devil is disturbed, 00:47:56.17\00:47:57.64 then something good is about to happen. 00:47:57.67\00:47:59.04 Yeah. 00:47:59.07\00:48:00.41 Lord knows it and he knows it too. 00:48:00.44\00:48:02.11 A number of things I want to touch on 00:48:02.14\00:48:04.15 because we can't direct you to a website just now, 00:48:04.18\00:48:07.95 but how would they make contact 00:48:07.98\00:48:09.78 should someone want to? 00:48:09.82\00:48:11.22 Because this is good stuff. 00:48:11.25\00:48:12.59 Yeah, by the time I think the people see this 00:48:12.62\00:48:13.96 is we'll probably have that resolved, but there is... 00:48:13.99\00:48:15.52 It would be www.UnScene.me 00:48:15.56\00:48:21.10 If that happens to not be functioning at the time, 00:48:21.13\00:48:23.57 you can email Ryan or myself 00:48:23.60\00:48:25.57 in the interim at Ryan@UnScene.me, 00:48:25.60\00:48:29.47 or Dee@UnScene.me. 00:48:29.50\00:48:32.87 And there'll be, I think, 00:48:32.91\00:48:34.24 a slide at the end that shows our phone number as well 00:48:34.28\00:48:35.94 that will there and our mailing address 00:48:35.98\00:48:37.31 those will on the, I think the graphic at the end. 00:48:37.35\00:48:39.18 Okay. 00:48:39.21\00:48:40.55 And also if you really want to call 3ABN, 00:48:40.58\00:48:43.32 we know where these guys lives, 00:48:43.35\00:48:44.75 we can find them, we can track them down for you. 00:48:44.79\00:48:48.19 Because I first of all, really believe in this, 00:48:48.22\00:48:50.99 and I think this may be 00:48:51.03\00:48:52.36 one of the greatest secrets in Adventism 00:48:52.39\00:48:55.30 that a group is doing something. 00:48:55.33\00:48:56.67 And you have contacts from church entities 00:48:56.70\00:48:59.03 that are calling you to do this kind of things. 00:48:59.07\00:49:01.14 And these are ways 00:49:01.17\00:49:02.50 that you make money to fund your ministry. 00:49:02.54\00:49:03.87 Absolutely. 00:49:03.91\00:49:05.24 So like we build partnerships 00:49:05.27\00:49:06.61 with the Revival and Reformation Committee 00:49:06.64\00:49:07.98 of the General Conference, 00:49:08.01\00:49:09.34 ASI, GYC, 00:49:09.38\00:49:10.71 The Adventist Review, Wildwood, 00:49:10.75\00:49:14.08 nets of evangelism centers. 00:49:14.12\00:49:15.45 So whether it be self-supporting ministries 00:49:15.48\00:49:17.19 and conference and departments at the General Conference, 00:49:17.22\00:49:19.35 they all really appreciate and value 00:49:19.39\00:49:21.32 what it is that we are doing, and they want to work with us, 00:49:21.36\00:49:23.19 they want to partner with us. 00:49:23.22\00:49:24.59 So the jobs and opportunities we have, 00:49:24.63\00:49:26.53 the difficulty is right now 00:49:26.56\00:49:27.90 we having to rent equipment for each of these paid jobs. 00:49:27.93\00:49:30.97 So basically we breakeven, 00:49:31.00\00:49:32.33 so like the concert he was talking about earlier, 00:49:32.37\00:49:33.97 we broke even. 00:49:34.00\00:49:35.34 So we did get paid for that concert 00:49:35.37\00:49:36.71 but those types of things, 00:49:36.74\00:49:38.07 our biggest needs right now we're just, 00:49:38.11\00:49:39.94 you know, systematic benevolence, 00:49:39.97\00:49:42.08 continual monthly giving from people and equipment. 00:49:42.11\00:49:45.01 Those are the two big things. Yeah. 00:49:45.05\00:49:46.38 God has provided every step of the ways for us 00:49:46.41\00:49:48.95 to ensure that stuff gets done, 00:49:48.98\00:49:50.99 but for us to be able to have our business model thrive, 00:49:51.02\00:49:52.92 those are the main things. 00:49:52.95\00:49:54.29 Yeah, yeah. 00:49:54.32\00:49:55.66 And I'm kind of begging this point 00:49:55.69\00:49:57.03 because what we want know is that, first of all, 00:49:57.06\00:49:58.39 this is squarely in the trajectory 00:49:58.43\00:50:00.16 of the Adventist Church. 00:50:00.20\00:50:01.53 This is not some off group, some place. 00:50:01.56\00:50:03.10 They have contracts, and connections, 00:50:03.13\00:50:04.97 and contacts with the Adventist Church. 00:50:05.00\00:50:07.04 And some of their clients 00:50:07.07\00:50:08.40 are entities of the Adventist Church 00:50:08.44\00:50:09.87 along with supporting ministries as 3ABN is. 00:50:09.90\00:50:12.74 So when you send your child here 00:50:12.77\00:50:14.91 or if you are considering this, you get solid Adventist stuff. 00:50:14.94\00:50:20.32 This is not some obscure kind of thing. 00:50:20.35\00:50:21.68 Right. 00:50:21.72\00:50:23.05 Your child or you will come out stronger. 00:50:23.08\00:50:24.89 You'll come out with a skill 00:50:24.92\00:50:26.32 but you also come out 00:50:26.35\00:50:27.69 with a heart leaning towards evangelism 00:50:27.72\00:50:30.16 which is just as important. 00:50:30.19\00:50:31.53 And when we preach at churches, 00:50:31.56\00:50:33.13 we preach at Adventist Churches, 00:50:33.16\00:50:34.50 we preach at conference schools, 00:50:34.53\00:50:35.86 self-supporting schools, 00:50:35.90\00:50:37.23 we do week of prayers and speaking engagements. 00:50:37.27\00:50:38.73 We haven't had any issues 00:50:38.77\00:50:40.20 on being accepted in any places. 00:50:40.24\00:50:41.80 Okay. We've been very fortunate. 00:50:41.84\00:50:43.17 Let me add this since having heard you preach, 00:50:43.20\00:50:44.97 you ain't bad, man. 00:50:45.01\00:50:46.34 Yeah, Lord is good. Praise God. 00:50:46.37\00:50:47.71 And you preach the gospel. 00:50:47.74\00:50:49.08 Now let's go to the address roll right now 00:50:49.11\00:50:50.45 before our time runs out 00:50:50.48\00:50:51.81 and we'll lose this opportunity. 00:50:51.85\00:50:53.25 Should you wanna make contact with UnScene Media Group, 00:50:53.28\00:50:56.85 here's how you can do precisely that. 00:50:56.89\00:51:00.89 If you would like to contact UnScene Media Group 00:51:00.92\00:51:03.66 or learn more about IDEA Training, 00:51:03.69\00:51:06.06 you can do so by writing to UnScene Media Group, 00:51:06.09\00:51:10.13 PO Box 129, Thompsonville, 00:51:10.17\00:51:13.23 Illinois, 62890. 00:51:13.27\00:51:16.20 That's UnScene Media Group, PO Box 129, 00:51:16.24\00:51:21.11 Thompsonville, Illinois, 62890. 00:51:21.14\00:51:24.75 You can call 618- 310-3431. 00:51:24.78\00:51:29.08 That's 618- 310-3431. 00:51:29.12\00:51:33.29 You can also visit them online at UnScene.me 00:51:33.32\00:51:37.79 that's U-N-S-C-E-N-E.me. 00:51:37.83\00:51:42.06 That's the information you need. 00:51:47.57\00:51:48.90 Now we... 00:51:48.94\00:51:50.27 before we get away from this, give me some sense, 00:51:50.31\00:51:53.34 when does film camp start? 00:51:53.38\00:51:55.11 How many students can you accommodate? 00:51:55.14\00:51:57.25 And how long is it? 00:51:57.28\00:51:59.95 So, they run in the summer 00:51:59.98\00:52:02.65 and sometimes we do multiple of them 00:52:02.68\00:52:04.82 depending on the summer. 00:52:04.85\00:52:06.19 Sometimes we'll work with other organizations 00:52:06.22\00:52:07.92 to put them on at their location. 00:52:07.96\00:52:10.83 But it's usually around June, July time. 00:52:10.86\00:52:14.50 And all the information is on the website. 00:52:14.53\00:52:17.13 So if you want to go and find out information, 00:52:17.17\00:52:19.37 you can go to www.UnScene.me/FilmCamp 00:52:19.40\00:52:25.37 Excellent. 00:52:25.41\00:52:26.74 So it's done in the summer time when young people 00:52:26.78\00:52:28.11 are out of school. 00:52:28.14\00:52:29.48 Correct. 00:52:29.51\00:52:30.85 And that was... 00:52:30.88\00:52:32.21 Now your regular curriculum, 00:52:32.25\00:52:33.58 the three students that we had before is how long? 00:52:33.62\00:52:34.95 How long do you sort of keep them in? 00:52:34.98\00:52:36.32 Nine months. 00:52:36.35\00:52:37.69 Nine months?
