an emptiness like, wow,

I should be doing
something different

or how did that come about?

It was kind of a surprise to me.

It actually
happened a few months

after we were married.

And so this is one reason

that we see this
really as God's calling

for our family.

All of us, both of us at a
time before we had children

An evangelist came through
our local church for a weekend

and at the end of his meetings,

he made several
appeals and calls

but one of those was,

if you feel the Lord calling you

to full-time gospel
ministry, then come forward.

And we were sitting on
the back row of the church,

and all of a
sudden my wife looked over

and I wasn't there anymore

because I was
walking up to the front.

And as I was talking with her
later that afternoon, she said,

when I saw you go up, I
knew something was happening

because, you know,
you're not the kind of person

that usually just goes
up for these kind of things.

And definitely felt the
Lord and Holy Sprit urging me,

you need to
make this commitment.

You know, that's amazing
because when you think about,

with young people, correct?

You're teaching
band in an academy,

you've a lot of impact,

positive impact, you
know, for young people

so to make this decision
sounds like just like that,

the minister evangelist
gave a call and you responded.

Well, we began praying earnestly

that Lord would show us,
you know, what does this mean.

At this point we
feel kind of like Abraham.

We don't know
where we were going.

So this is after

called you to do something,

and then you prayed

and it seemed as
though nothing happened,

could we say that?

And then you went back
into what you were doing.

And so that could really I mean,

with you, that happens

'cause it's happened to me too.

years, had wonderful experience,

moved on from that

And went to work
for my father-in-law.

And so kind of
joined the family business

for a while.

What does he do?

assisted living facility.

And so that was a
great experience as well,

when that evangelist

was a call in my life

clue what it really meant.
