00:01 Well, friends, as you know, our time comes
00:02 and go so quickly. 00:04 But I am thankful that we have a little extra time 00:05 on this end of our newsbreak, 00:06 because Brenda is not just a person 00:08 who God shows to put a devotion together 00:11 and work with Kids' time, 00:12 and prayer promises and the other resources 00:15 and Brenda's bedtime stories. 00:17 But these books are the result of her own experience. 00:21 I want to... 00:23 one of the first books I came to discover 00:25 about you was the one Battered to Blessed. 00:28 I mean we look at you today, you're prim, you're proper, 00:31 you're a person of detail. 00:33 But you had your own experience. 00:35 Talk about that briefly 00:36 as we wind up our program down? 00:37 You know, certainly there are many people 00:39 that will ask me when you grew up 00:41 in such a Christ centered home, 00:42 how did something so horrible happened to you, 00:44 that you ended up being a battered wife. 00:47 And I was a battered wife from my first marriage, 00:49 I want to make that clear. 00:51 And my husband now is precious and wouldn't lay a hand on me. 00:54 Wonderful man. 00:55 But, and the answer is simple. 00:57 I chose a path God didn't choose for me, 00:59 and when you do that, 01:01 you're gonna suffer the consequences. 01:03 And I tell my story in Battered to Blessed 01:06 of being a battered wife. 01:07 And literally I was left for dead many times 01:10 and the really bad stuff isn't even in the book 01:12 because you really wouldn't be able to read it. 01:14 You know, you wouldn't be able to get to the blush part, 01:17 if I didn't. 01:19 And I thank God everyday for, 01:22 I mean, I know I'm a walking miracle. 01:24 I know that the most powerful prayer 01:27 you could ever pray is Jesus save me. 01:29 That's right. 01:31 And I think back to when I was just beat so bad, 01:34 my eyes are swollen shut, 01:36 I'm on the bathroom floor, I'm bleeding out, 01:37 I know I'm not gonna make it, 01:39 I can feel myself drifting away. 01:41 I can't even lift a leg or finger, 01:44 I'm so weak at this point 01:45 and all I can muster was Jesus save me, 01:51 and He did. 01:52 And look at what He's done on the flip side. 01:54 And, you know, I thank Jesus every day 01:56 for the privilege of being alive. 01:59 I thank Him for every birthday, 02:01 I celebrate as a celebration to Him, 02:03 my Lord and Savior for giving me life. 02:07 And I'm thankful to be here to work in 02:11 whatever capacity God wants me to work in. 02:14 And I know I've had people criticize me saying, you know, 02:17 I've been a volunteer full time for 16 years 02:19 and say, you know, that's horrible, 02:21 you give the best years of your life away, 02:23 you know, I'm thanking, 02:24 they have no idea, you know, 02:27 the joy of serving Jesus. 02:28 You cannot work for Jesus 02:30 and get the best life of your years away, 02:31 I mean, not at all. 02:33 There is no greater joy then serving Jesus 02:35 and I mean that with all my heart. 02:37 It's not just something you say or, you know, 02:39 I really I love him so much, he's my best friend. 02:42 Now, there's a reason why I asked you that 02:43 and I want to let our audience know 02:44 there is a reason why I asked Brenda that 02:46 because in order to be as dedicated and devoted 02:49 as you'll see whenever you read a materials 02:52 or this devotional book, 02:53 that is gonna come out reflecting the love of God 02:55 in so many ways. 02:56 You begin to see that to be able to write this way, 03:01 she had to have her own moment where her life was so dark 03:05 and so broken that the Lord, 03:07 He responded to that prayer 03:09 and He didn't just save you 03:10 but He saved you because He had a plan for you. 03:12 He had a purpose for you 03:13 that is being unfolded 29 years with 3ABN, 03:18 all the different facets of your ministry. 03:20 You've been battered, 03:22 but I want to say, the battered is here, 03:24 terrible as it was 03:26 but the blessed continued throughout eternity. 03:28 Amen. 03:29 If you want to say something to our audience 03:30 listening to the program, 03:32 what could you say to them before we wind up? 03:33 I would say spend more time with Jesus everyday. 03:35 He's your best friend. 03:37 Friends, let me encourage you. 03:38 You need to get on the list 03:39 whenever you hear about this book, 03:41 contact 3ABN through the number 03:42 that we made available, 03:43 the address there. 03:45 Moments with God, 03:46 make this a gift to your friends, 03:47 your neighbors, to people that, 03:49 if you have children, if you have a daughter or son, 03:51 audio book, 03:53 whatever you need to do to give people something 03:55 that would give them precious moments with God. 03:58 Prayer time through prayer promises, 04:00 and if you have children, 04:01 whatever you do, God will bless you. 04:03 Here at 3ABN, thank you for tuning in. 04:05 May God bless you until we see you again. |
