00:02:52.07\00:02:55.74 I mean we are more similar than we are dissimilar, 00:02:55.77\00:02:58.87 and prejudice is actually the root of prejudice is pride 00:02:58.91\00:03:03.85 and pride is the root of the antichrist 00:03:03.88\00:03:06.82 if you think about it. 00:03:06.85\00:03:08.25 So we need to pray and ask God, 00:03:08.28\00:03:11.29 help us to get over our prejudices. 00:03:11.32\00:03:13.92 Help us Lord to love everyone 00:03:13.96\00:03:16.73 and to see everyone as you see them. 00:03:16.76\00:03:19.59 So gentlemen today we're going to be talking about 00:03:19.63\00:03:22.56 an exciting project, 00:03:22.60\00:03:25.60 and before we do that though 00:03:25.63\00:03:27.87 we would like to go to our music 00:03:27.90\00:03:30.34 I think it will get, 00:03:30.37\00:03:31.74 ET is gonna be playing for us on the piano, 00:03:31.77\00:03:33.98 so we will let her do that first 00:03:34.01\00:03:36.58 and then we'll come back 00:03:36.61\00:03:38.01 and get into the wonderful topic 00:03:38.05\00:03:40.88 that we'll talk about today. 00:03:40.92\00:03:42.35 ET is a precious woman of God. 00:03:42.38\00:03:44.92 She is an incredible musician, 00:03:44.95\00:03:47.16 and she's going to play for us right now, 00:03:47.19\00:03:49.22 "How Great is Our God". 00:03:49.26\00:03:51.49 Thank you ET, I wished I had that talent, 00:08:29.94\00:08:32.44 but thank God that she... 00:08:32.47\00:08:34.24 she gives the talent back to the Lord. 00:08:34.28\00:08:37.95 So if you're just joining us, 00:08:37.98\00:08:39.31 our special guests today 00:08:39.35\00:08:40.72 are Steve Grabiner and Frank Fournier 00:08:40.75\00:08:43.15 and they're both with Outpost Centers International. 00:08:43.18\00:08:46.45 Now, Steve, it's been a long time 00:08:46.49\00:08:47.96 since you've been here, 00:08:47.99\00:08:49.92 so let's before we kick off 00:08:49.96\00:08:52.86 and talk about the exciting new project 00:08:52.89\00:08:55.46 that you're here to unveil today. 00:08:55.50\00:08:58.47 Tell us a little bit of your background? 00:08:58.50\00:09:01.34 Sure, it'd be a pleasure. 00:09:01.37\00:09:02.90 I grew up north of New York City 00:09:02.94\00:09:05.21 in a Jewish family. 00:09:05.24\00:09:07.84 And as I was growing up, 00:09:07.88\00:09:09.74 went to Hebrew school in addition to public school. 00:09:09.78\00:09:13.52 And when I was around 10 00:09:13.55\00:09:15.72 my father tragically passed away, 00:09:15.75\00:09:17.99 kind of impacted my life for a number of years. 00:09:18.02\00:09:20.96 In my high school years, 00:09:20.99\00:09:23.32 I was involved in what was fairly common at that time. 00:09:23.36\00:09:27.40 I was involved in the hippie scene 00:09:27.43\00:09:29.30 of the '60s and so on. 00:09:29.33\00:09:31.10 But when I was becoming 20, 00:09:31.13\00:09:33.13 I began to go into a little vegetarian restaurant 00:09:33.17\00:09:36.04 that amazingly was run by 00:09:36.07\00:09:38.11 a group of Seventh-day Adventists, 00:09:38.14\00:09:39.91 and it was through meeting them 00:09:39.94\00:09:42.04 and eating with them and studying with them 00:09:42.08\00:09:44.81 that I became introduced to Jesus Christ as the Messiah. 00:09:44.85\00:09:48.92 Praise the Lord. 00:09:48.95\00:09:50.39 And that made a very dramatic change in my life. 00:09:50.42\00:09:53.25 Okay, so you went from a long, 00:09:53.29\00:09:55.12 a long pony tailed hippie to 00:09:55.16\00:09:58.39 actually you ended up going into school to study theology. 00:09:58.43\00:10:04.27 Tell us about that? 00:10:04.30\00:10:05.63 How did that decision... 00:10:05.67\00:10:07.00 You meet these people just eating at a restaurant 00:10:07.04\00:10:09.97 and it just shows you 00:10:10.01\00:10:11.34 what ministries of health food restaurants can do, 00:10:11.37\00:10:15.04 but you meet these people, you become... 00:10:15.08\00:10:18.31 you fall in love, they introduced you to Christ. 00:10:18.35\00:10:20.78 You fallen in love with Him, accept Him as the Messiah. 00:10:20.82\00:10:24.05 How did you then... 00:10:24.09\00:10:25.69 How did you make that leap to go study theology? 00:10:25.72\00:10:29.36 Well, the movement from first knowing Christ 00:10:29.39\00:10:32.09 to becoming a pastor 00:10:32.13\00:10:35.33 and working in evangelism and in education, 00:10:35.36\00:10:39.03 wasn't so direct. 00:10:39.07\00:10:40.54 Okay. 00:10:40.57\00:10:41.90 After my conversion, 00:10:41.94\00:10:43.27 I went away to college for little bit, dropped out, 00:10:43.30\00:10:45.27 and then worked in a supporting ministry, 00:10:45.31\00:10:48.24 the individuals that were running the restaurant, 00:10:48.28\00:10:50.35 they're all lay people, 00:10:50.38\00:10:51.71 and that's what's really exciting is that 00:10:51.75\00:10:53.28 God's given every Christian something to do for Him. 00:10:53.31\00:10:56.48 Amen. 00:10:56.52\00:10:57.89 And so I worked with some other lay people 00:10:57.92\00:11:00.99 in the ministry in Michigan 00:11:01.02\00:11:02.89 and then from there I worked 00:11:02.92\00:11:04.89 with the conference in the Boston area. 00:11:04.93\00:11:07.20 We worked in evangelism, 00:11:07.23\00:11:08.66 help raising up a couple of churches 00:11:08.70\00:11:10.20 in the Boston area, Waltham and Braintree. 00:11:10.23\00:11:14.57 From there I became a pastor studied, 00:11:14.60\00:11:18.87 went got my degrees in theology 00:11:18.91\00:11:21.61 and end up getting a doctorate in theology 00:11:21.64\00:11:25.08 and writing a book on Revelation actually. 00:11:25.11\00:11:26.82 Wonderful. 00:11:26.85\00:11:28.18 And then how did you become 00:11:28.22\00:11:30.29 or how did you come 00:11:30.32\00:11:31.72 and it was what year 2002, 00:11:31.75\00:11:35.66 when did you come to OCI? 00:11:35.69\00:11:38.19 Well, I worked for OCI in Africa. 00:11:38.23\00:11:41.90 I was director of a project there called Riverside Farm. 00:11:41.93\00:11:44.87 And then when I left Africa in 2006, 00:11:44.90\00:11:47.77 I started working as the vice president of OCI... 00:11:47.80\00:11:49.90 In 2006. 00:11:49.94\00:11:51.27 And then about four and a half, 00:11:51.31\00:11:52.64 five years I became the president of OCI. 00:11:52.67\00:11:54.24 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 00:11:54.28\00:11:55.61 And it's been a great journey. Okay. 00:11:55.64\00:11:57.11 It's amazing how God leads us in different ways. 00:11:57.15\00:12:00.88 Amen. 00:12:00.92\00:12:02.25 That's a fascinating history, 00:12:02.28\00:12:04.39 but we're gonna come back 00:12:04.42\00:12:05.75 and OCI is Outpost Centers International. 00:12:05.79\00:12:08.59 We'll introduce that ministry to you in just a moment. 00:12:08.62\00:12:10.96 But, Frank, now you're now stranger to 3ABN, 00:12:10.99\00:12:14.33 you've been here quite often, 00:12:14.36\00:12:15.86 you've done a little series on 3ABN. 00:12:15.90\00:12:18.93 As a matter of fact, 00:12:18.97\00:12:20.30 from heaven's point of view on Prodigal Son, 00:12:20.34\00:12:22.70 so but tell us because things keep changing in your life. 00:12:22.74\00:12:27.34 I think last time you were here, 00:12:27.38\00:12:28.71 were you the president of Adventist Layman Services 00:12:28.74\00:12:31.98 and Industries or I don't know... 00:12:32.01\00:12:34.08 I was president of ASI for four years, 00:12:34.12\00:12:37.89 and at the same time I was president of Eden Valley, 00:12:37.92\00:12:40.89 a lifestyle center. 00:12:40.92\00:12:42.39 Yes. 00:12:42.42\00:12:43.99 So I don't know that I ever heard your testimony. 00:12:44.03\00:12:46.90 Give us just a little bit of your growing up? 00:12:46.93\00:12:49.30 Yeah, well, I grew up in the Roman Catholic home 00:12:49.33\00:12:52.23 in French, Canada. 00:12:52.27\00:12:55.70 And sometime in my early 20s, 00:12:55.74\00:12:57.87 I began to wonder 00:12:57.91\00:12:59.77 or maybe I began to be drawn more closely by the Lord, 00:12:59.81\00:13:02.98 somehow became interested in reading the Bible 00:13:03.01\00:13:06.25 and I began to do that. 00:13:06.28\00:13:08.25 And as soon as I started reading the Bible, 00:13:08.28\00:13:12.49 I came to the conclusion that 00:13:12.52\00:13:14.09 I wasn't smart enough to determine 00:13:14.12\00:13:16.86 who was right and who was wrong, 00:13:16.89\00:13:19.19 and so I got on my knees 00:13:19.23\00:13:21.33 and talk to the Lord about He teaching me individually. 00:13:21.36\00:13:24.67 Amen. 00:13:24.70\00:13:26.03 Because I couldn't trust myself to the priest 00:13:26.07\00:13:29.64 for he's interpreting the Bible for me 00:13:29.67\00:13:32.91 or a Baptist minister for that matter or anybody else, 00:13:32.94\00:13:35.74 because everyone says they have the truth 00:13:35.78\00:13:38.01 and so I just asked the Lord to teach me. 00:13:38.05\00:13:40.02 Amen. 00:13:40.05\00:13:41.38 And the interesting thing about that is that He did, 00:13:41.42\00:13:45.09 doctrine by doctrines, 00:13:45.12\00:13:46.49 several doctrines until I began to pray 00:13:46.52\00:13:48.99 that He would lead me to the true church. 00:13:49.02\00:13:51.59 And when he did 00:13:51.63\00:13:52.96 which I believe today is a Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:13:52.99\00:13:55.66 Everything He had taught me as an individual 00:13:55.70\00:13:57.90 apart from anyone else turned out to be the same thing 00:13:57.93\00:14:01.10 as the same doctrines 00:14:01.14\00:14:02.87 as I found in the Adventist Church. 00:14:02.90\00:14:04.37 Oh, how I identify with that, 00:14:04.41\00:14:06.27 because when the Lord called me to full time ministry, 00:14:06.31\00:14:09.31 He just definitely... 00:14:09.34\00:14:10.85 I guess I was more hard headed. 00:14:10.88\00:14:12.21 Well, no, actually I was praying 00:14:12.25\00:14:13.58 what do you want me to teach, 00:14:13.62\00:14:14.95 and you know, 00:14:14.98\00:14:16.32 He impressed the thought upon my mind, 00:14:16.35\00:14:17.69 forget what you think, you know, 00:14:17.72\00:14:19.05 come sit at my feet and I will teach you, 00:14:19.09\00:14:21.39 and that's exactly what happened to me. 00:14:21.42\00:14:23.53 Every doctrine that He was teaching me 00:14:23.56\00:14:26.26 from the Sabbath whatever it had to do the truth, 00:14:26.29\00:14:29.30 the state of the dead, anything. 00:14:29.33\00:14:30.90 It was just like I'm out 00:14:30.93\00:14:32.27 teaching them everywhere and thinking 00:14:32.30\00:14:34.27 Lord, where is there a church that believes this 00:14:34.30\00:14:37.64 and that's how...fascinating. 00:14:37.67\00:14:39.77 Well, you know, even to this day 00:14:39.81\00:14:41.14 it blows me away. 00:14:41.18\00:14:42.51 Amen. 00:14:42.54\00:14:43.88 That I don't remember one thing 00:14:43.91\00:14:45.25 that I had thought I had learned 00:14:45.28\00:14:47.32 that I had to change, 00:14:47.35\00:14:49.42 because He was guiding, He was teaching, 00:14:49.45\00:14:52.39 and when I came to the Adventist church, 00:14:52.42\00:14:54.76 it was exactly the same. 00:14:54.79\00:14:56.12 Well see now, I had everything, 00:14:56.16\00:14:57.49 He was teaching me all these doctrines 00:14:57.53\00:14:58.86 but the one thing I was praying for is Lord, 00:14:58.89\00:15:01.16 I don't understand Revelation 00:15:01.20\00:15:03.26 so I learned that actually through watching 00:15:03.30\00:15:05.93 and started tuning into 3ABN 00:15:05.97\00:15:07.84 and found out Adventist believed 00:15:07.87\00:15:09.74 everything that God was teaching me, 00:15:09.77\00:15:11.94 and then I was learning that Daniel unlocked Revelation, 00:15:11.97\00:15:15.28 so it's fabulous. 00:15:15.31\00:15:16.78 So, Steve, tells us about Outpost Centers International, 00:15:16.81\00:15:21.28 we call it OCI for short, but they began in 1982, 00:15:21.32\00:15:25.52 and what is the purpose of this ministry? 00:15:25.55\00:15:27.46 OCI exists... 00:15:27.49\00:15:30.89 Well our vision for OCI is that in every country of the world 00:15:30.93\00:15:34.30 there should be lay people engaged in ministry. 00:15:34.33\00:15:37.27 And so our vision is to see all around the world, 00:15:37.30\00:15:40.30 small family ministries, larger institutions 00:15:40.34\00:15:44.67 doing supporting work for the church. 00:15:44.71\00:15:47.31 Wherever there is a Seventh-day Adventist, 00:15:47.34\00:15:48.94 there should be a Seventh-day Adventist 00:15:48.98\00:15:50.35 lay person engaged in ministry. 00:15:50.38\00:15:51.71 Now explain what you mean by lay person, 00:15:51.75\00:15:53.08 somebody watching may not know? 00:15:53.11\00:15:54.75 Thank you for that clarification. 00:15:54.78\00:15:58.15 In God's church he's organized 00:15:58.19\00:16:00.69 that you would have people in position, 00:16:00.72\00:16:03.19 ministers, teachers, pastors, 00:16:03.22\00:16:06.06 but the vast majority of the church is made up 00:16:06.09\00:16:09.23 of the everyday man and woman, 00:16:09.26\00:16:11.83 child that goes to church and has a normal job, 00:16:11.87\00:16:15.14 and God's call is for all of us to have a part 00:16:15.17\00:16:18.71 in the great commission. 00:16:18.74\00:16:20.58 And so OCI exists to help 00:16:20.61\00:16:23.45 the bulk of the church members 00:16:23.48\00:16:25.55 realize their calling where do they fulfill 00:16:25.58\00:16:29.72 their part in the great commission. 00:16:29.75\00:16:31.49 So we call those church members 00:16:31.52\00:16:33.19 and those people lay people 00:16:33.22\00:16:35.02 not that they should be reclined 00:16:35.06\00:16:37.13 'cause they should be up and going, 00:16:37.16\00:16:38.69 the blessing is on the go, right? 00:16:38.73\00:16:40.20 That's right. All right. 00:16:40.23\00:16:41.56 So these are lay ministries and we believe 00:16:41.60\00:16:43.87 and OCI's mission is to have something in every country. 00:16:43.90\00:16:47.90 Right, so we're network organization, 00:16:47.94\00:16:50.24 we try to encourage new ministries to get started 00:16:50.27\00:16:53.84 in countries where there aren't ministries already. 00:16:53.88\00:16:56.81 We give support to existing ones. 00:16:56.85\00:16:59.31 We do education, training, 00:16:59.35\00:17:01.92 leadership support for these ministries 00:17:01.95\00:17:04.22 and it's really exciting. 00:17:04.25\00:17:05.59 Currently there is 120 ministries 00:17:05.62\00:17:08.39 in 44 different countries you know, 00:17:08.42\00:17:10.76 expanding the globe, 00:17:10.79\00:17:12.13 and it's just really exciting to see 00:17:12.16\00:17:14.86 young people getting engaged, 00:17:14.90\00:17:17.10 realizing that God has call on their life, 00:17:17.13\00:17:19.73 and how they can use their business skills in evangelism. 00:17:19.77\00:17:24.87 How can they use their everyday work 00:17:24.91\00:17:28.08 as an outreach for evangelism? 00:17:28.11\00:17:30.68 And some of them were called 00:17:30.71\00:17:32.58 how can I devote my life full time 00:17:32.61\00:17:36.12 in a entrepreneurial way to do ministry? 00:17:36.15\00:17:40.02 Okay, so you said young people, 00:17:40.06\00:17:41.69 but it's not specifically for young people... 00:17:41.72\00:17:44.03 No, of course not young. 00:17:44.06\00:17:45.39 Tell us, just kind of give us, 00:17:45.43\00:17:47.23 one of you tell us a little bit 00:17:47.26\00:17:48.90 about the range of the ministries 00:17:48.93\00:17:51.00 because you have institutional ministries 00:17:51.03\00:17:54.67 that you support or network, 00:17:54.70\00:17:57.11 and then you also have little family ministries, 00:17:57.14\00:18:00.04 so give us kind of a range? 00:18:00.08\00:18:01.84 Hey, Frank, why don't you talk a little about Columbia, 00:18:01.88\00:18:04.15 the ministries there? 00:18:04.18\00:18:06.41 Well, we have several ministries in Columbia 00:18:06.45\00:18:09.78 and most of them have been there 00:18:09.82\00:18:11.42 for a quite a while 00:18:11.45\00:18:13.02 because OCI has been around for quite a while. 00:18:13.05\00:18:15.96 And they range everything from health food stories 00:18:15.99\00:18:21.33 to farms and lifestyle centers and everything like that, 00:18:21.36\00:18:26.47 and besides that we have also over there 00:18:26.50\00:18:30.61 one ministry that deals with young people 00:18:30.64\00:18:34.28 who have been in trouble, drug addicts and whatever 00:18:34.31\00:18:37.38 and they take them on and they minister to them. 00:18:37.41\00:18:40.35 It's amazing the conversions that you get 00:18:40.38\00:18:42.62 even from a ministry where you would think, 00:18:42.65\00:18:45.42 it's so difficult to do and so hard to get through, 00:18:45.45\00:18:48.26 but it works, you know, 00:18:48.29\00:18:49.82 the Lord's power is always surprising. 00:18:49.86\00:18:52.79 Yes. Yeah. 00:18:52.83\00:18:54.20 So you're not just in Columbia, where else are you? 00:18:54.23\00:18:56.40 No, many places in South America, 00:18:56.43\00:18:58.77 but take something very different 00:18:58.80\00:19:00.94 than what Frank just shared in Prague, 00:19:00.97\00:19:03.94 in Czech Republic, very western secularized city. 00:19:03.97\00:19:07.51 We have four health food store, restaurants 00:19:07.54\00:19:10.85 Country Life they are called, and as well as a... 00:19:10.88\00:19:14.42 Which God used as a tool to convert you? 00:19:14.45\00:19:17.39 A Country Life restaurant that's exactly right, 00:19:17.42\00:19:19.32 and so there are other people 00:19:19.35\00:19:21.92 like I was coming into that those restaurants 00:19:21.96\00:19:24.39 or those stores, 00:19:24.43\00:19:25.93 meeting individuals, 00:19:25.96\00:19:28.16 they worship on Sabbath, 00:19:28.20\00:19:29.73 they have like a little worship 00:19:29.76\00:19:31.57 in the restaurant on Sabbath, 00:19:31.60\00:19:33.37 so they are using different avenues, 00:19:33.40\00:19:36.00 so you have Columbia, South America, Western Europe, 00:19:36.04\00:19:40.68 in Indonesia there is a group of individuals 00:19:40.71\00:19:44.65 who have a small health food store building, 00:19:44.68\00:19:47.22 and then above the health food store 00:19:47.25\00:19:49.02 in the second floor is a doctor's office. 00:19:49.05\00:19:52.09 People come to the health food store 00:19:52.12\00:19:53.46 and they go to the doctor's office, 00:19:53.49\00:19:55.22 and then above that floor they have little church, 00:19:55.26\00:19:58.26 and then above that floor they have a prayer room, 00:19:58.29\00:20:00.46 and therefore these in Indonesia, 00:20:00.50\00:20:02.70 very strong Muslim country, 00:20:02.73\00:20:04.90 and yet these dedicated individuals, 00:20:04.93\00:20:06.94 they're trying again to fulfill the gospel commission 00:20:06.97\00:20:11.57 using their talents and their abilities. 00:20:11.61\00:20:13.07 With a great deal of success, I understand. 00:20:13.11\00:20:14.74 Yes, yes. 00:20:14.78\00:20:16.11 They are doing a fantastic job, fantastic. 00:20:16.14\00:20:18.45 So then and you have in Africa, it's... 00:20:18.48\00:20:20.15 they're around the world, 00:20:20.18\00:20:21.52 but tell us about the Riverside Farms? 00:20:21.55\00:20:23.72 Riverside Farm is a beautiful place, 00:20:23.75\00:20:26.72 probably one of most beautiful places in the world. 00:20:26.76\00:20:28.49 I realize I'm prejudice, 00:20:28.52\00:20:30.13 lived there for about 10 years, close to 10 years, 00:20:30.16\00:20:33.19 and it's on the banks of the Kafue River. 00:20:33.23\00:20:35.73 And Riverside is a very diverse organization. 00:20:35.76\00:20:39.23 They have a lifestyle center, 00:20:39.27\00:20:41.34 so that they can reach 00:20:41.37\00:20:42.70 the middle and upper class Zambians. 00:20:42.74\00:20:44.77 Then they have an educational program 00:20:44.81\00:20:47.14 where they teach evangelism and farming 00:20:47.18\00:20:50.11 and tailoring as skill sets for different people. 00:20:50.15\00:20:54.15 Then of course, they have a very large farm 00:20:54.18\00:20:56.62 which is their means of self support. 00:20:56.65\00:20:58.95 And the farm generates the income 00:20:58.99\00:21:01.42 for their evangelistic and educational outreaches. 00:21:01.46\00:21:04.76 Beautiful place. 00:21:04.79\00:21:06.49 I have some dear friends, 00:21:06.53\00:21:07.86 I just give a shout out to Hein and Melissa, 00:21:07.90\00:21:10.27 who are also, they are around a more... 00:21:10.30\00:21:13.03 they are in that same area or they're in Africa 00:21:13.07\00:21:15.20 and it's a more of a family based, 00:21:15.24\00:21:18.31 but they've started the school there, 00:21:18.34\00:21:19.87 and then they have boat where they take, 00:21:19.91\00:21:22.34 they go up and down 00:21:22.38\00:21:23.71 ministering to the needs of the people in the area. 00:21:23.75\00:21:26.15 And it's just OCI, I have met so many people 00:21:26.18\00:21:29.45 and so many ministries and I've interviewed 00:21:29.48\00:21:31.92 so many ministries who will say, 00:21:31.95\00:21:34.16 well, we're members of Outpost Centers International, 00:21:34.19\00:21:37.49 so it's a great way that 00:21:37.53\00:21:39.83 people can instead of having to go to... 00:21:39.86\00:21:43.70 instead of going through the 501c3, 00:21:43.73\00:21:46.10 they can just have people donate through you. 00:21:46.13\00:21:49.47 Sure, the foreign introduce a lot of those organizations 00:21:49.50\00:21:53.54 run their donations through OCI. 00:21:53.58\00:21:55.54 We're privileged to do that for them. 00:21:55.58\00:21:57.81 And again, 00:21:57.85\00:21:59.48 we also try to help new ministries 00:21:59.51\00:22:00.98 get started and sit on the lot of boards, 00:22:01.02\00:22:03.65 trying to give council, try to help guide people 00:22:03.69\00:22:06.92 in different kind of difficult situations, 00:22:06.96\00:22:10.06 but what's really exciting is the work 00:22:10.09\00:22:12.33 that all those ministries were doing. 00:22:12.36\00:22:13.73 I mean we sit in the office, 00:22:13.76\00:22:16.26 well, we travel actually a lot, 00:22:16.30\00:22:17.73 but our office is in Tennessee, it's a small office. 00:22:17.77\00:22:21.74 The vibrancy of the organization is the work 00:22:21.77\00:22:25.51 that the ministries are doing. 00:22:25.54\00:22:26.88 Absolutely. 00:22:26.91\00:22:28.24 And it's thrilling to see it growing all around the world. 00:22:28.28\00:22:30.25 It is growing, I was gonna say if you... 00:22:30.28\00:22:32.38 I know that, I don't know what your schedules like, 00:22:32.41\00:22:34.98 but I think I travel a lot, and I think, 00:22:35.02\00:22:37.59 Frank, you probably do more international travel 00:22:37.62\00:22:39.52 than anybody I've seen. 00:22:39.55\00:22:41.72 Now, if you think this is exciting and it is. 00:22:41.76\00:22:47.06 They're getting ready or they had just kicked off 00:22:47.10\00:22:50.03 or are in the process of launching 00:22:50.07\00:22:52.53 I'll say a new ministry in Israel. 00:22:52.57\00:22:57.14 Why I know with you with a Jewish background, 00:22:57.17\00:23:01.44 this must be so exciting for you, 00:23:01.48\00:23:04.61 so before you explain to us 00:23:04.65\00:23:07.98 what this ministry is in Israel, 00:23:08.02\00:23:10.49 tell us why you feel now is the time? 00:23:10.52\00:23:14.69 So it's a mixed answer. 00:23:14.72\00:23:17.53 Clearly there is a very personal aspect of that 00:23:17.56\00:23:20.60 and again being born Jewish, 00:23:20.63\00:23:21.96 I lived in Israel before my conversion. 00:23:22.00\00:23:26.17 And I always had this desire to see something start there. 00:23:26.20\00:23:31.24 And in the early 1900s 00:23:31.27\00:23:35.81 Ellen G. White was addressing 00:23:35.84\00:23:37.55 a General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. 00:23:37.58\00:23:40.35 And in that conference she made up specific appeal 00:23:40.38\00:23:44.75 to her hearers to the church at large 00:23:44.79\00:23:47.72 to not neglect the work for the Jewish people. 00:23:47.76\00:23:51.36 Can I read that quote, 00:23:51.39\00:23:52.76 because I actually carry that in my Bible, I too. 00:23:52.79\00:23:57.17 We've been to Israel for the last five years, 00:23:57.20\00:24:00.04 and also have a heart for those people. 00:24:00.07\00:24:02.27 What she wrote was 00:24:02.30\00:24:03.64 in the gospel's closing proclamation, 00:24:03.67\00:24:06.27 God expects His messengers to take particular interest 00:24:06.31\00:24:10.28 in the Jewish people. 00:24:10.31\00:24:11.85 Many of the Jews will see the Christ of the gospel 00:24:11.88\00:24:15.08 in the pages of the Old Testament 00:24:15.12\00:24:17.12 and will grasp how the New Testament 00:24:17.15\00:24:19.55 explains the old. 00:24:19.59\00:24:21.12 They will recognize Christ as the Savior of the world. 00:24:21.16\00:24:26.16 So the first part of that phrase, 00:24:26.19\00:24:27.66 would you read it again? 00:24:27.70\00:24:29.10 In the gospel's closing proclamation 00:24:29.13\00:24:31.63 God expects His messengers 00:24:31.67\00:24:33.40 to take particular interest in the Jewish people. 00:24:33.44\00:24:37.61 So in the gospel's closing proclamation 00:24:37.64\00:24:40.54 I think as you and your viewers will understand, 00:24:40.58\00:24:43.91 we live in that time. 00:24:43.95\00:24:46.28 Yes, we do. 00:24:46.31\00:24:47.65 And again she read that 00:24:47.68\00:24:49.18 or she spoke it to the General Conference session 00:24:49.22\00:24:51.15 in the nearly 1900s, 00:24:51.19\00:24:53.96 it's passed due for the church at large to say, 00:24:53.99\00:24:58.73 this is a group of people that need particular work. 00:24:58.76\00:25:02.13 And so in Israel, for example 00:25:02.16\00:25:04.70 there are 900 plus or minus church members 00:25:04.73\00:25:07.14 in the Seventh-day Adventist church there 00:25:07.17\00:25:09.40 and yet only a handful of Israeli born 00:25:09.44\00:25:13.44 Seventh-day Adventists. 00:25:13.48\00:25:15.28 There is one Israeli born Seventh-day Adventist pastor. 00:25:15.31\00:25:20.25 And now the church bought a building 00:25:20.28\00:25:22.05 in outside of the old city of Jerusalem 00:25:22.08\00:25:24.62 in the early 1900s to do this work. 00:25:24.65\00:25:27.39 So we had a foothold 00:25:27.42\00:25:29.39 or a presence there for a long time, 00:25:29.42\00:25:32.16 yet I think all of us would recognize 00:25:32.19\00:25:34.56 the work hasn't advanced the way we would desire. 00:25:34.60\00:25:37.53 Several years ago, Richard Oliver 00:25:37.57\00:25:39.53 who was then the field president 00:25:39.57\00:25:41.87 for the Israeli field came to OCI and said, 00:25:41.90\00:25:44.47 would you come help 00:25:44.51\00:25:46.01 start a health outreach in Israel. 00:25:46.04\00:25:48.54 So OCI partnered with Herghelia, 00:25:48.58\00:25:51.41 which is a lifestyle center in Romania own by Dr. Nick Dan, 00:25:51.45\00:25:56.35 and with one in Moldova run by his sister Magdalena Dan 00:25:56.38\00:26:00.26 and with another organization 00:26:00.29\00:26:02.19 called Health Education Resources 00:26:02.22\00:26:05.06 by Charles Cleveland, and we formed a little team, 00:26:05.09\00:26:07.76 went to Israel and did a health expo 00:26:07.80\00:26:09.86 in the city of Haifa, 00:26:09.90\00:26:11.43 and it was very well received. 00:26:11.47\00:26:13.97 From that we launched a health club 00:26:14.00\00:26:16.20 which meant every Sunday afternoon for several years, 00:26:16.24\00:26:21.08 then we rented a facility 00:26:21.11\00:26:23.01 to try to start a lifestyle session 00:26:23.04\00:26:26.55 and we had about 15 guests come 00:26:26.58\00:26:29.62 Israeli secular individuals. 00:26:29.65\00:26:32.02 Came, loved the program, 00:26:32.05\00:26:34.02 and for the past six years, 00:26:34.06\00:26:35.39 we've been looking for the right place. 00:26:35.42\00:26:37.49 Amen. 00:26:37.53\00:26:38.86 So God has definitely led you to the right place, 00:26:38.89\00:26:44.37 the ministry before we actually look at the pictures of this, 00:26:44.40\00:26:47.90 let's talk about what ministry your are beginning there 00:26:47.94\00:26:52.81 that you are launching kind of debt tailing off 00:26:52.84\00:26:57.28 which you've already done with the health. 00:26:57.31\00:26:59.05 And Ellen White said that 00:26:59.08\00:27:02.22 the health message is the right arm of the gospel, 00:27:02.25\00:27:05.15 and we can see that when people 00:27:05.19\00:27:07.76 especially the Jewish people who, 00:27:07.79\00:27:09.82 they're precious people, they are very loving people, 00:27:09.86\00:27:12.93 but they are also very close minded. 00:27:12.96\00:27:16.73 I heard a great quote, I just love this quote, 00:27:16.77\00:27:20.07 and I don't know who said it, 00:27:20.10\00:27:21.44 but I just heard somebody repeated. 00:27:21.47\00:27:23.41 It's a preconceived opinions 00:27:23.44\00:27:26.07 effectively insulate the mind against truth, 00:27:26.11\00:27:29.74 so you have to break down the barriers 00:27:29.78\00:27:33.48 for someone who has been taught that Christianity is wrong, 00:27:33.52\00:27:37.62 that Christ was an impostor 00:27:37.65\00:27:42.09 and you have therefore 00:27:42.12\00:27:45.46 the health message is a way that you can reach out 00:27:45.49\00:27:48.46 and touch people without offending them, 00:27:48.50\00:27:51.00 touch their hearts for change. 00:27:51.03\00:27:53.23 So explain what the ministry is, 00:27:53.27\00:27:55.57 then we'll look at the pictures of where God has led you. 00:27:55.60\00:27:58.64 So our vision, we realize that 00:27:58.67\00:28:02.91 it would be very difficult to minister 00:28:02.94\00:28:04.61 to the Orthodox Jews, very hard. 00:28:04.65\00:28:08.92 So our focus really is on the secular Israeli 00:28:08.95\00:28:12.55 which is majority of the country, 00:28:12.59\00:28:15.72 and we really want to serve them 00:28:15.76\00:28:18.49 in a health line, 00:28:18.53\00:28:21.16 and so our vision is to operate a... 00:28:21.20\00:28:24.30 It's called a healthy bean breakfast 00:28:24.33\00:28:28.30 where somebody comes they want to go on vacation, 00:28:28.34\00:28:31.44 get out of the city from away from Tel Aviv. 00:28:31.47\00:28:34.41 And they want sometime away, 00:28:34.44\00:28:36.04 they come to our healthy bean breakfast let's called it. 00:28:36.08\00:28:38.91 And we give them a good healthy diet. 00:28:38.95\00:28:42.88 We have lectures available for them, 00:28:42.92\00:28:45.79 massage offered for them, 00:28:45.82\00:28:47.56 cooking classes so that they can help 00:28:47.59\00:28:50.26 prepare their next meal, prepare lunch, 00:28:50.29\00:28:52.86 and through this avenue of both educations and classes, 00:28:52.89\00:28:57.63 the massage, some water treatments, 00:28:57.67\00:29:00.70 good diet to begin to break down 00:29:00.74\00:29:03.74 some of those prejudices 00:29:03.77\00:29:05.44 and to really show this community 00:29:05.47\00:29:08.58 that people are interested just in serving them. 00:29:08.61\00:29:11.68 And if they come 00:29:11.71\00:29:13.05 and they are there for a short period of time, 00:29:13.08\00:29:14.78 a couple of days, week, ten days and move on and think, 00:29:14.82\00:29:17.62 well, that was a real blessing. 00:29:17.65\00:29:19.35 Well, that's a step. 00:29:19.39\00:29:20.82 It's a very different ministry 00:29:20.86\00:29:23.53 than a 12 week evangelistic series for example. 00:29:23.56\00:29:27.83 Yes. 00:29:27.86\00:29:29.20 This is gonna be a very long term, 00:29:29.23\00:29:31.70 let's make friends, let's draw close to people, 00:29:31.73\00:29:35.77 let's win their confidence and then try to introduce them 00:29:35.80\00:29:40.74 to Jesus Christ, Jesus as a Messiah. 00:29:40.78\00:29:43.51 This is a very effective, Frank, 00:29:43.55\00:29:46.72 I call it friendship evangelism, 00:29:46.75\00:29:48.22 but that's very effective isn't it Frank, 00:29:48.25\00:29:51.15 when you're just reflecting the love of Jesus Christ. 00:29:51.19\00:29:54.26 And I know Magdalena Dan quite well, 00:29:54.29\00:29:56.96 and Magdalena has told me that 00:29:56.99\00:29:59.49 she's with Herghelia in Romania. 00:29:59.53\00:30:03.03 And she has said that they get some people 00:30:03.06\00:30:06.43 that are coming in there 00:30:06.47\00:30:07.84 who as she's treating them being so kind to them. 00:30:07.87\00:30:11.74 It's like why are you, it's everybody here so nice. 00:30:11.77\00:30:14.38 Why are you so loving and so caring? 00:30:14.41\00:30:16.91 And so it opens up doors, 00:30:16.95\00:30:18.41 actually, you don't have to just, 00:30:18.45\00:30:20.88 Frank and I were talking before the program that, 00:30:20.92\00:30:24.55 you know, some people take the approach 00:30:24.59\00:30:27.02 when they learn truth that they just want to go out 00:30:27.06\00:30:29.86 and beat people over the head with the Bible. 00:30:29.89\00:30:32.69 And you couldn't beat somebody over the head 00:30:32.73\00:30:34.86 with a violin to convince them how beautiful the music is. 00:30:34.90\00:30:39.30 You can't beat people over the head 00:30:39.33\00:30:41.30 with the Bible to convince them of the love of God. 00:30:41.34\00:30:44.37 But when you just reflect, 00:30:44.41\00:30:47.84 when you let the love of God be in your heart 00:30:47.88\00:30:50.05 and the Holy Spirit's indwelling you 00:30:50.08\00:30:52.15 and you reach out and do what Jesus would do, 00:30:52.18\00:30:54.85 that's very effective, isn't it? 00:30:54.88\00:30:56.38 Well, you know, 00:30:56.42\00:30:58.02 we talk about going in there gently 00:30:58.05\00:30:59.72 and that's our purpose, that's what we're going to do, 00:30:59.75\00:31:02.96 but we're living in the last days 00:31:02.99\00:31:05.23 and gentle is going to be more urgent 00:31:05.26\00:31:08.63 as we go on very soon, 00:31:08.66\00:31:10.07 I don't know what the Lord is going to do. 00:31:10.10\00:31:12.13 We're going to go in there and try to make friends in 00:31:12.17\00:31:15.00 and be as congenial as we can to win them. 00:31:15.04\00:31:18.21 Well, let me tell you something. 00:31:18.24\00:31:20.68 If we're living as closely to the second coming of Jesus 00:31:20.71\00:31:23.35 as we think we are, 00:31:23.38\00:31:25.11 there is going to be a push 00:31:25.15\00:31:27.22 by the Holy Spirit towards the Israeli people, 00:31:27.25\00:31:31.09 and we just want to be part of it. 00:31:31.12\00:31:33.79 I don't know what the Lord is going to do 00:31:33.82\00:31:36.06 but we're going to be there available, 00:31:36.09\00:31:38.63 and if we are available 00:31:38.66\00:31:40.23 then we'll let you know how it turns out, 00:31:40.26\00:31:42.16 we'll come back. 00:31:42.20\00:31:43.53 Okay. 00:31:43.57\00:31:45.10 Well, and I may be over there. 00:31:45.13\00:31:46.47 Well, we'll look for you. 00:31:46.50\00:31:47.84 We... 00:31:47.87\00:31:49.20 J.D and I have had the distinct, 00:31:49.24\00:31:52.64 just joy and privilege of going to Israel 00:31:52.67\00:31:55.18 for the last five years and it's a beautiful place. 00:31:55.21\00:31:58.01 But you mentioned 00:31:58.05\00:31:59.78 you've been looking for a place for six years, 00:31:59.81\00:32:01.98 it is not easy to find 00:32:02.02\00:32:04.35 real estate to purchase in Israel. 00:32:04.39\00:32:06.59 There are several obstacles 00:32:06.62\00:32:08.62 to purchasing a place in Israel. 00:32:08.66\00:32:11.93 First of all there are restrictions. 00:32:11.96\00:32:16.30 Land is very expensive and very rare. 00:32:16.33\00:32:19.17 You don't find the large open spaces 00:32:19.20\00:32:21.44 like you do in the United States. 00:32:21.47\00:32:23.20 And we looked at a facility 00:32:23.24\00:32:26.44 in the northern part of the country 00:32:26.47\00:32:27.94 and found out there were some legal complications with it. 00:32:27.98\00:32:30.45 The owner had built not on his property 00:32:30.48\00:32:34.42 and we found that in actually 00:32:34.45\00:32:36.99 in several properties that we looked at. 00:32:37.02\00:32:39.15 What's really exciting about this property 00:32:39.19\00:32:42.09 is that the ministry, 00:32:42.12\00:32:45.79 the property rather is privately owned. 00:32:45.83\00:32:48.93 The majority of all the land in Israel is actually 00:32:48.96\00:32:51.33 owned by the government. 00:32:51.37\00:32:52.80 This land is privately owned 00:32:52.83\00:32:54.70 which gives us a bit more freedom 00:32:54.74\00:32:57.44 to run this kind of healthy bed and breakfast 00:32:57.47\00:33:00.04 that we're talking about. 00:33:00.08\00:33:01.54 And again it's very unique... 00:33:01.58\00:33:03.75 When you say healthy bed and breakfast, 00:33:03.78\00:33:05.15 it's a lifestyle center on a small scale, 00:33:05.18\00:33:06.78 is that what you're saying? 00:33:06.82\00:33:08.15 That's exactly. All right. 00:33:08.18\00:33:09.52 I just want to make sure. 00:33:09.55\00:33:10.89 Right, it's healthy bed... 00:33:10.92\00:33:12.99 what we're zone for, 00:33:13.02\00:33:15.72 let's say is a bed and breakfast 00:33:15.76\00:33:18.63 and our intention is to be creative 00:33:18.66\00:33:23.10 in how we bring in a lifestyle session 00:33:23.13\00:33:26.63 within the parameters of what we have permission to do. 00:33:26.67\00:33:28.97 Well, you know, 00:33:29.00\00:33:30.34 what people don't realize is that if you, 00:33:30.37\00:33:33.54 it's really difficult to find properties, 00:33:33.58\00:33:37.35 it's even more difficult to build in Israel 00:33:37.38\00:33:39.81 because if you buy land, 00:33:39.85\00:33:41.68 if you stick a shovel in the ground, 00:33:41.72\00:33:43.79 I guarantee you you're going to turn up 00:33:43.82\00:33:45.49 some kind of an artifact... 00:33:45.52\00:33:46.86 Archaeological missions. 00:33:46.89\00:33:48.22 And yeah, and so everything 00:33:48.26\00:33:50.23 it seems like every building project is just 00:33:50.26\00:33:53.13 put on hold as soon as they start digging 00:33:53.16\00:33:55.26 because they're finding things 00:33:55.30\00:33:56.63 but so you were searching for six years, 00:33:56.67\00:33:59.00 and from what I have seen, 00:33:59.03\00:34:01.17 God took you to the perfect property. 00:34:01.20\00:34:04.57 Let's look at the pictures of what you have purchased 00:34:04.61\00:34:08.44 in the Galilee area. 00:34:08.48\00:34:09.91 Now this is Migdal, is that correct? 00:34:09.94\00:34:11.41 That's correct. 00:34:11.45\00:34:12.78 Just near the Sea of Galilee, 00:34:12.81\00:34:14.38 the northern part of the Sea of Galilee 00:34:14.42\00:34:16.25 not too far from Capernaum 00:34:16.28\00:34:17.69 where the Sermon on the Mount was, 00:34:17.72\00:34:19.39 and this is just a picture of the surrounding area 00:34:19.42\00:34:22.66 beyond the hill not too far away is Nazareth. 00:34:22.69\00:34:25.69 And then in the front part of the picture 00:34:25.73\00:34:27.96 are these mango trees which form a mango orchard 00:34:28.00\00:34:31.33 that surrounds the property. 00:34:31.37\00:34:32.83 So you're looking right off the balcony there... 00:34:32.87\00:34:34.67 That's correct. 00:34:34.70\00:34:36.04 And then this is from the balcony as well. 00:34:36.07\00:34:38.47 One of the others shots of the mango orchard 00:34:38.51\00:34:40.64 which is really important 00:34:40.68\00:34:42.48 because the mango orchard on two sides are 00:34:42.51\00:34:45.75 kind of dedicated in memorial of Holocaust victims, 00:34:45.78\00:34:49.28 victims of the World War II. 00:34:49.32\00:34:51.09 And so nobody is going to build there 00:34:51.12\00:34:52.65 which is tremendously encouraging, 00:34:52.69\00:34:54.16 gives us a little bit of space. 00:34:54.19\00:34:55.82 Oh, this is a beautiful home. 00:34:55.86\00:34:57.19 This is from the back front of the property 00:34:57.23\00:35:01.43 through that field, 00:35:01.46\00:35:02.86 then you can see the mangoes again 00:35:02.90\00:35:05.03 just coming up to the property. 00:35:05.07\00:35:06.47 Now how big is the property? 00:35:06.50\00:35:08.07 I mean how big is the house? 00:35:08.10\00:35:09.44 So what the house itself 00:35:09.47\00:35:11.07 has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, 00:35:11.11\00:35:13.41 and then it has five guest rooms 00:35:13.44\00:35:15.84 and just above the white wall 00:35:15.88\00:35:17.21 in the picture are those five guest rooms 00:35:17.25\00:35:19.48 and each guest room is equipped for 00:35:19.51\00:35:23.49 with Jacuzzi and full bed, and en suite. 00:35:23.52\00:35:26.35 So that's where the guests would be staying. 00:35:26.39\00:35:29.52 So the four bedrooms would be used for staff. 00:35:29.56\00:35:31.86 Staff or we could also use them, 00:35:31.89\00:35:33.23 this is a living room, 00:35:33.26\00:35:34.60 we're probably doing lectures on the property. 00:35:34.63\00:35:36.77 Okay. 00:35:36.80\00:35:39.20 And that's one of the en suite chalets 00:35:39.23\00:35:43.07 we could call them or zimmers 00:35:43.10\00:35:44.97 as they call them there in Israel. 00:35:45.01\00:35:46.57 Lovely. Yeah. 00:35:46.61\00:35:47.94 Very nicely done 00:35:47.98\00:35:49.64 and this is a place where we'll be doing 00:35:49.68\00:35:52.21 again maybe some lectures, the swimming pool, 00:35:52.25\00:35:53.98 there's a Jacuzzi, exercise as well. 00:35:54.02\00:35:57.42 it's very beautiful and being up on the hill, 00:35:57.45\00:35:59.35 it gets a nice cool breeze which is very exciting. 00:35:59.39\00:36:02.79 And you're very close to the Sea of Galilee which... 00:36:02.82\00:36:05.59 We are and so there is a shot from the Sea of Galilee. 00:36:05.63\00:36:08.13 It is very clear day, very unusual, 00:36:08.16\00:36:10.03 but that's Mount Hermon in the distance Anti-Lebanon. 00:36:10.07\00:36:13.97 I say, I've just been blessed to be. 00:36:14.00\00:36:16.27 We've had beautiful weather, I think on every trip. 00:36:16.30\00:36:20.01 I've done ten tours of Israel and every trip except one, 00:36:20.04\00:36:24.51 and it was just one bad day, you know, 00:36:24.55\00:36:26.08 so we've been very blessed. 00:36:26.11\00:36:27.88 That's a beautiful spot, 00:36:27.92\00:36:29.72 and I think that the Lord certainly, 00:36:29.75\00:36:31.92 it was worth waiting the six years for that spot. 00:36:31.95\00:36:35.12 And what was very exciting is 00:36:35.16\00:36:36.76 when I came to see it and others have come to see it, 00:36:36.79\00:36:40.30 we all felt this is the place. 00:36:40.33\00:36:43.90 We're all very convinced 00:36:43.93\00:36:46.07 this is where God wanted us to have this, 00:36:46.10\00:36:48.47 and it's been amazing now pouring of support 00:36:48.50\00:36:51.57 from donors to help us purchase it 00:36:51.61\00:36:53.27 but it's been very exciting to see 00:36:53.31\00:36:55.94 all the pieces finally coming together. 00:36:55.98\00:36:58.91 So you've been there personally and seen this, 00:36:58.95\00:37:00.82 have you as well, Frank? 00:37:00.85\00:37:02.18 No, I haven't, I am just waiting. 00:37:02.22\00:37:03.55 You're just waiting. He's waiting. 00:37:03.59\00:37:04.92 That's right. 00:37:04.95\00:37:06.49 And this is something that is opening 00:37:06.52\00:37:08.92 when you're opening soon. 00:37:08.96\00:37:10.79 We're taking up possession in August the next month 00:37:10.83\00:37:13.76 and will begin in September. 00:37:13.80\00:37:15.36 Wonderful. Very exciting. 00:37:15.40\00:37:17.30 That is, it's a beautiful facility 00:37:17.33\00:37:19.83 so who will be yours. 00:37:19.87\00:37:22.47 How are you staffing there? 00:37:22.50\00:37:24.17 So we have a group of individuals 00:37:24.21\00:37:26.17 that are Israeli citizens 00:37:26.21\00:37:28.21 who have been trained at Herghelia, 00:37:28.24\00:37:31.15 the lifestyle center in Romania 00:37:31.18\00:37:32.91 and have worked in partnership 00:37:32.95\00:37:34.88 with our lifestyle center in Ukraine, Novi Obihody. 00:37:34.92\00:37:38.15 So there is some Ukrainians living in Israel. 00:37:38.19\00:37:41.39 Novi Obihody, our home... 00:37:41.42\00:37:43.83 Novi Obihody, well... 00:37:43.86\00:37:45.19 Our home, sorry 00:37:45.23\00:37:47.03 and so there's Israelis citizens 00:37:47.06\00:37:51.10 who are from Ukraine, from Romania, 00:37:51.13\00:37:55.54 from Russia who are living in Israel 00:37:55.57\00:37:58.11 as well as Israeli citizens excuse me, 00:37:58.14\00:38:01.31 Israeli natural born citizens, 00:38:01.34\00:38:03.04 who are helping make up the team 00:38:03.08\00:38:05.31 that's going to run the project. 00:38:05.35\00:38:06.92 And of course, Magdalena Dan will be helping 00:38:06.95\00:38:09.45 and giving some guidance with it 00:38:09.48\00:38:11.39 to the operation of it as well. 00:38:11.42\00:38:13.12 Wonderful, and this is going to be something 00:38:13.15\00:38:15.16 that as you say, I know we keep saying, 00:38:15.19\00:38:17.33 it's going to be something gentle, 00:38:17.36\00:38:18.93 you're starting slowly, 00:38:18.96\00:38:20.46 but I agree with what Frank just said while ago is that, 00:38:20.50\00:38:23.63 as fast as things are happening, 00:38:23.67\00:38:25.93 it's wonderful when you have in place 00:38:25.97\00:38:30.14 that connection the friendship with people. 00:38:30.17\00:38:33.31 And then when something does happen, 00:38:33.34\00:38:35.04 and we've seen this in our own lives just did. 00:38:35.08\00:38:37.25 If you develop that friendship, some kind of tragedy comes, 00:38:37.28\00:38:40.88 they turn to you 00:38:40.92\00:38:42.25 because they know there's something different. 00:38:42.28\00:38:43.62 And then they're very quickly ready to accept the Lord 00:38:43.65\00:38:47.02 and then we know God's going to do a great work in Israel 00:38:47.06\00:38:49.42 before He returns. 00:38:49.46\00:38:50.79 Amen. Amen. 00:38:50.83\00:38:52.16 So, yeah, just the point 00:38:52.19\00:38:53.53 that you said about the importance 00:38:53.56\00:38:55.40 of making connections with people, 00:38:55.43\00:38:57.07 friends with people 00:38:57.10\00:38:58.47 so that when a crisis does come, 00:38:58.50\00:39:00.67 they know who to turn to 00:39:00.70\00:39:02.70 and what questions to ask, 00:39:02.74\00:39:04.51 and that you're there ready with an answer. 00:39:04.54\00:39:07.04 But unless we are very intentional, 00:39:07.08\00:39:09.71 how can I make a bridge with this group of people 00:39:09.74\00:39:12.18 that are very different than I am? 00:39:12.21\00:39:14.25 How can somebody reach this community 00:39:14.28\00:39:18.12 we won't be there? 00:39:18.15\00:39:19.49 We won't be prepared when that crisis comes, 00:39:19.52\00:39:21.49 so it's very important for each of us 00:39:21.52\00:39:23.39 to take advantage of the opportunities 00:39:23.43\00:39:26.16 before us in our own sphere 00:39:26.19\00:39:28.06 to think, okay, 00:39:28.10\00:39:29.76 what's my part of the great commission. 00:39:29.80\00:39:31.57 How can I impact people in my community in my life? 00:39:31.60\00:39:34.64 And as Frank mentioned earlier, 00:39:34.67\00:39:36.37 when things really begin to accelerate 00:39:36.40\00:39:39.94 in a spiritual way in Israel, 00:39:39.97\00:39:41.51 we want to have our presence there. 00:39:41.54\00:39:43.61 Absolutely, absolutely, so it sounds very exciting. 00:39:43.65\00:39:46.98 What are some of the other plans 00:39:47.02\00:39:48.88 that OCI has on your calendar? 00:39:48.92\00:39:54.12 Well, one of the things that we do 00:39:54.16\00:39:55.79 as well to help minister to the organizations. 00:39:55.82\00:39:58.79 We have leaders retreats, 00:39:58.83\00:40:01.60 and we've started these retreats in different countries 00:40:01.63\00:40:06.67 and so every year, 00:40:06.70\00:40:08.27 well, this year I think we're going to have eight 00:40:08.30\00:40:11.84 so different retreats in different places 00:40:11.87\00:40:14.24 in Mexico, Colombia, 00:40:14.28\00:40:16.21 Bolivia, Southeast Asia, 00:40:16.24\00:40:20.05 and these are all ways of trying to strengthen 00:40:20.08\00:40:22.85 and minister to those organizations to men and women 00:40:22.88\00:40:26.15 in the churches in those areas 00:40:26.19\00:40:27.92 that are looking for God's guidance 00:40:27.96\00:40:30.19 to get them into ministry. 00:40:30.23\00:40:31.79 Praise the Lord. 00:40:31.83\00:40:33.33 So have you launched, 00:40:33.36\00:40:35.00 I mean you're getting ready to launch the Israel project, 00:40:35.03\00:40:38.13 have you launched other new ministries 00:40:38.17\00:40:39.73 in the last year? 00:40:39.77\00:40:42.57 New ministries have become part of OCI 00:40:42.60\00:40:45.54 and in several different places, 00:40:45.57\00:40:48.24 but this is a major ministry 00:40:48.28\00:40:50.55 that OCI has really been engaged with it helping launch. 00:40:50.58\00:40:52.81 So you're not always then, 00:40:52.85\00:40:54.78 it's not always the incubation stage for OCI. 00:40:54.82\00:40:58.39 Sometimes, it's somebody that's already incubated 00:40:58.42\00:41:00.66 and then they come and join you 00:41:00.69\00:41:02.16 so that they can have a network of support. 00:41:02.19\00:41:04.69 We actually rarely launch anything 00:41:04.73\00:41:07.00 that's not been our... 00:41:07.03\00:41:08.36 Okay. This one is special. 00:41:08.40\00:41:09.73 Well, that's right. 00:41:09.76\00:41:11.10 And when you see an opportunity like we've just had. 00:41:11.13\00:41:15.30 We just jump on it because it's important. 00:41:15.34\00:41:18.54 This is something, you know, you can't, 00:41:18.57\00:41:20.78 we talk about knowing Israelis 00:41:20.81\00:41:23.11 as if they were someone out there 00:41:23.14\00:41:24.61 but you can't read your Bible all your life 00:41:24.65\00:41:26.55 and not identify with Israel, you just can't. 00:41:26.58\00:41:29.42 Everyone identifies with Israel 00:41:29.45\00:41:31.15 who has been reading their Bible. 00:41:31.19\00:41:32.65 And so it makes it 00:41:32.69\00:41:34.59 universally important in this world. 00:41:34.62\00:41:36.96 And, you know, I'll tell you something, 00:41:36.99\00:41:38.76 it's, there's... 00:41:38.79\00:41:40.56 I don't know if you're ever going to open it up 00:41:40.60\00:41:42.40 to where somebody could come 00:41:42.43\00:41:43.90 and visit if they're from the States 00:41:43.93\00:41:45.27 but your lifestyle center there are your 00:41:45.30\00:41:48.00 healthy bed and breakfast, excuse me. 00:41:48.04\00:41:50.51 But there's nothing like a trip to Israel 00:41:50.54\00:41:54.14 to make the Bible come alive. 00:41:54.18\00:41:55.64 Amen. 00:41:55.68\00:41:57.01 It's just something that you don't, 00:41:57.05\00:41:58.38 you cannot imagine so much history 00:41:58.41\00:42:00.95 happened in such a tiny little place, 00:42:00.98\00:42:03.89 you know, it's very fascinating. 00:42:03.92\00:42:05.95 It is, and having gone to Israel many times, 00:42:05.99\00:42:09.92 having lived there 00:42:09.96\00:42:11.29 and then gone there many times 00:42:11.33\00:42:12.66 over the past several years for this purpose. 00:42:12.69\00:42:14.30 It's very intriguing to bring somebody 00:42:14.33\00:42:17.57 and show them some of the places, 00:42:17.60\00:42:19.70 you know, the stones from the... 00:42:19.73\00:42:21.94 where the temple was overthrown 00:42:21.97\00:42:23.41 and just realized, you know, 00:42:23.44\00:42:24.77 this is a fulfillment of prophecy, 00:42:24.81\00:42:27.71 and that's astounding to us and particularly to see 00:42:27.74\00:42:31.91 how God has worked through archaeology 00:42:31.95\00:42:36.12 to confirm what we read in scriptures. 00:42:36.15\00:42:40.19 Over again, you know, 00:42:40.22\00:42:41.99 new archaeological discoveries like, 00:42:42.02\00:42:43.43 yes this is... 00:42:43.46\00:42:45.06 This is recently in the last few years, 00:42:45.09\00:42:46.90 they've had all these discoveries on David 00:42:46.93\00:42:48.96 where before it was kind of like 00:42:49.00\00:42:50.33 did he even really exist... 00:42:50.37\00:42:51.80 That's right. 00:42:51.83\00:42:53.17 David, you know so, it is fascinating 00:42:53.20\00:42:54.54 and what happens is archaeology seems to just, 00:42:54.57\00:42:58.67 continue putting the naysayers in their place does it good. 00:42:58.71\00:43:03.98 Yeah, it's great. 00:43:04.01\00:43:05.45 Well, we're very excited about this ministry 00:43:05.48\00:43:08.98 and I know that, 00:43:09.02\00:43:10.35 if particularly Jim Gilley were here, 00:43:10.39\00:43:11.72 he would be... 00:43:11.75\00:43:13.09 he'd be doing that with two handers. 00:43:13.12\00:43:16.56 What we'd like to do is give people an opportunity 00:43:16.59\00:43:19.56 to get in touch with you. 00:43:19.59\00:43:21.50 If they would like to, 00:43:21.53\00:43:23.60 if you'd like to support this ministry in any way 00:43:23.63\00:43:26.47 or perhaps if you've got just you're in ministry 00:43:26.50\00:43:31.17 and you're thinking, 00:43:31.21\00:43:32.57 "Hey, we need to talk to somebody about 00:43:32.61\00:43:36.58 maybe networking with them." 00:43:36.61\00:43:38.11 So we've got these opportunities 00:43:38.15\00:43:40.15 for leadership retreats 00:43:40.18\00:43:41.78 or people who we can turn to. 00:43:41.82\00:43:43.85 Here's how you can get in touch 00:43:43.89\00:43:45.75 with Outpost Centers International. 00:43:45.79\00:43:50.29 OCI is a spiritual brotherhood of
