00:11:36.83\00:11:38.16 In the Philippines. 00:11:38.19\00:11:39.93 So at that time there were probably 400, 00:11:39.96\00:11:42.70 and I said what's going on 00:11:42.73\00:11:46.13 and the Lord would put that in my mind. 00:11:46.17\00:11:49.57 At 2 o'clock every morning, 00:11:49.60\00:11:50.94 I feel Jesus was standing by the side of my bed 00:11:50.97\00:11:54.38 and asking me what are you gonna do with them? 00:11:54.41\00:11:56.68 They have kids, they have families. 00:11:56.71\00:11:58.78 They need to preach the gospel 00:11:58.81\00:12:00.88 and I was widowed at that time, 00:12:00.92\00:12:02.88 and I said, God, leave me alone, 00:12:02.92\00:12:04.75 I cannot do it. 00:12:04.79\00:12:06.59 So that's the part of the story, 00:12:06.62\00:12:08.62 and six months later after I keep saying no, no, no 00:12:08.66\00:12:13.19 he just made it happen. 00:12:13.23\00:12:15.10 I was in Gulfport Mississippi and I was speaking, 00:12:15.13\00:12:17.47 and I don't know, 00:12:17.50\00:12:18.83 I was supposed to be talking about something 00:12:18.87\00:12:20.34 but what came out of my mouth 00:12:20.37\00:12:22.70 were the hundreds of unemployed ministers 00:12:22.74\00:12:25.01 that I could never get off my mind anyway, 00:12:25.04\00:12:28.08 and there was man named Romio Kasto. 00:12:28.11\00:12:31.61 He was just visiting 00:12:31.65\00:12:32.98 and he was there in the audience 00:12:33.01\00:12:34.35 and he said after around potluck, 00:12:34.38\00:12:38.05 he came to me and tears in his eyes, 00:12:38.09\00:12:40.46 and he said, what we're gonna do with them? 00:12:40.49\00:12:43.22 He said I came from... 00:12:43.26\00:12:45.63 I became an Adventist when I came here 00:12:45.66\00:12:47.30 and I want my people to know about truth and that started. 00:12:47.33\00:12:53.10 And so I was till working full time at that time, 00:12:53.13\00:12:56.30 and God, I said, 00:12:56.34\00:12:58.71 if you want me to do this send me help. 00:12:58.74\00:13:01.51 He send me Mary Grace and my new husband 00:13:01.54\00:13:04.95 four years after I was a widow at the same week. 00:13:04.98\00:13:08.98 Okay so, Mary Grace, 00:13:09.02\00:13:10.89 how did you come into the picture? 00:13:10.92\00:13:12.82 She said you sent her 00:13:12.85\00:13:14.52 and I know you kind of consider her your mom... 00:13:14.56\00:13:16.76 Yeah. 00:13:16.79\00:13:18.13 But you're not really biological mother and daughter, 00:13:18.16\00:13:21.36 but spiritual mother and daughter. 00:13:21.40\00:13:23.16 Tell us little of your story of how you met Reva? 00:13:23.20\00:13:25.67 I actually met her 00:13:25.70\00:13:27.27 the very first time back in 2001 00:13:27.30\00:13:29.10 when I came here 00:13:29.14\00:13:30.71 and I happen to stay at her sister's house 00:13:30.74\00:13:35.91 in Alexandria 00:13:35.94\00:13:37.35 which is about two hours from where we live, 00:13:37.38\00:13:40.55 and the sister kept calling her and asking her that 00:13:40.58\00:13:43.39 why don't you come and see this 00:13:43.42\00:13:44.92 one handed girl play the piano, 00:13:44.95\00:13:47.16 but at first she didn't want to go. 00:13:47.19\00:13:49.46 She didn't want to drive a two hour drive, 00:13:49.49\00:13:51.89 but the sister kept calling 00:13:51.93\00:13:54.70 and probably the Lord was impressing her... 00:13:54.73\00:13:57.13 She actually said you may want to see this people with her 00:13:57.17\00:14:01.37 and they are talking about you adopt a minister. 00:14:01.40\00:14:03.20 And that's the only reason why she... 00:14:03.24\00:14:06.64 Yeah and then after that 00:14:06.68\00:14:08.38 I went back home and in 2003 I... 00:14:08.41\00:14:12.18 Let me just pause right there, 00:14:12.21\00:14:13.55 why were they talking about adopt a minister. 00:14:13.58\00:14:16.02 Did they... 00:14:16.05\00:14:17.62 had they heard, how did they open. 00:14:17.65\00:14:19.42 We already had adopted ministers in their mission 00:14:19.45\00:14:21.86 under where she lived. 00:14:21.89\00:14:23.29 Oh, okay and so... 00:14:23.32\00:14:24.66 And they said, oh, yeah, 00:14:24.69\00:14:26.03 we have adopted ministers and that's I said I am coming. 00:14:26.06\00:14:28.96 Okay. That's how we're here. 00:14:29.00\00:14:31.03 Yeah and then back in... 00:14:31.07\00:14:32.53 and then in 2003 I came back here 00:14:32.57\00:14:35.87 and then they decided to live with her 00:14:35.90\00:14:37.54 and I've been traveling 00:14:37.57\00:14:38.91 and doing concerts for the ministry. 00:14:38.94\00:14:41.31 Okay, so, 00:14:41.34\00:14:42.68 when you say that adopt ministry 00:14:42.71\00:14:44.91 or Adopt a Minister International, 00:14:44.95\00:14:46.78 this is something the Lord laid on your heart. 00:14:46.82\00:14:49.35 He sent you these two people, 00:14:49.38\00:14:51.15 so tell us a little bit about beginning this ministry. 00:14:51.19\00:14:55.06 What was it? 00:14:55.09\00:14:56.42 What was it like? 00:14:56.46\00:14:57.79 Okay first of all when I found out 00:14:57.83\00:14:59.16 that there were at least 400 at that time 00:14:59.19\00:15:02.03 theology graduates that are unemployed 00:15:02.06\00:15:04.47 and they're staying in this missions 00:15:04.50\00:15:06.10 waiting for maybe our crusade 00:15:06.13\00:15:07.80 where they can do little bit of work. 00:15:07.84\00:15:10.47 Some of them were getting food, 00:15:10.51\00:15:12.47 maybe $20 worth of food for per month 00:15:12.51\00:15:17.35 and waiting for a placement. 00:15:17.38\00:15:19.11 They were volunteering the work 00:15:19.15\00:15:20.48 and I kept thinking we got to find them 00:15:20.52\00:15:23.85 a monthly stipend at least. 00:15:23.89\00:15:25.22 So I didn't know how to do it 00:15:25.25\00:15:26.69 and when this Mr. Romio said, 00:15:26.72\00:15:28.56 well, I'll pay for five, let's come up with 00:15:28.59\00:15:31.06 and I said, okay, we'll do that, 00:15:31.09\00:15:32.43 and so I started contacting. 00:15:32.46\00:15:33.80 The first mission that I contacted 00:15:33.83\00:15:35.16 was where she is from. 00:15:35.20\00:15:36.53 Yes. 00:15:36.56\00:15:37.90 And so we placed several there 00:15:37.93\00:15:39.40 and then we're placing another mission 00:15:39.43\00:15:40.97 and another mission 00:15:41.00\00:15:42.34 and at that time I was working full time 00:15:42.37\00:15:44.77 and I was able to play 60, and with this, 00:15:44.81\00:15:48.14 we're family and this Mr. Romio 00:15:48.18\00:15:50.55 giving money donations every month. 00:15:50.58\00:15:53.92 We have to also remember that 00:15:53.95\00:15:55.28 we're doing this with the goodness of our heart. 00:15:55.32\00:15:57.29 We're not paid. 00:15:57.32\00:15:58.69 Every penny that comes, 00:15:58.72\00:16:00.69 every dollar goes to the Lord's work. 00:16:00.72\00:16:03.49 Even the missions do not. 00:16:03.53\00:16:05.33 They go directly to the stipends 00:16:05.36\00:16:06.93 or there're times when the donors might say, 00:16:06.96\00:16:10.77 okay, I want to build the church 00:16:10.80\00:16:12.13 or I want to do this for the minister or whatever. 00:16:12.17\00:16:15.67 So I was working full time, 00:16:15.70\00:16:17.97 I had 60 and I couldn't do it. 00:16:18.01\00:16:19.57 I get one day the Lord keeps telling me that I, 00:16:19.61\00:16:22.38 you've got to do it full time 00:16:22.41\00:16:24.08 and my husband couldn't find a job, 00:16:24.11\00:16:26.55 didn't have a job, how we're gonna do this. 00:16:26.58\00:16:28.78 I actually got sick. 00:16:28.82\00:16:30.25 I saw where I was gonna get sick in my dream. 00:16:30.29\00:16:32.55 And I work for a chemical company 00:16:32.59\00:16:35.22 and next thing, I started having asthma, 00:16:35.26\00:16:38.43 nonstop coughing and so the, 00:16:38.46\00:16:41.96 my supervisor had to put me in a place 00:16:42.00\00:16:44.43 where I can just do paper work. 00:16:44.47\00:16:47.77 And then three months later 00:16:47.80\00:16:49.17 she put me back to work in... 00:16:49.20\00:16:52.21 I was coughing all the time, 00:16:52.24\00:16:53.81 my lung doctor said you can no longer work 00:16:53.84\00:16:56.44 so they, it's amazing that God actually allow that company 00:16:56.48\00:17:00.18 was laying off 500 people and I was not one of them. 00:17:00.22\00:17:04.39 But they had to let me go, 00:17:04.42\00:17:06.89 and at first he said 00:17:06.92\00:17:11.16 you're going to only get 00:17:11.19\00:17:12.89 the little bit of money from us. 00:17:12.93\00:17:15.30 No long term disability 00:17:15.33\00:17:17.00 and I still didn't know how to do it. 00:17:17.03\00:17:19.07 You know and the Lord, I said, 00:17:19.10\00:17:20.94 but I had to have faith 00:17:20.97\00:17:22.30 that the Lord was going to take care of us 00:17:22.34\00:17:24.21 and we started doing more, 00:17:24.24\00:17:26.34 pretty more. 00:17:26.37\00:17:28.21 Adopt a Ministers we were interviewed in 2004 and 2006 00:17:28.24\00:17:32.31 and we found a lot of our sponsors 00:17:32.35\00:17:34.88 who were elderly at that time. 00:17:34.92\00:17:36.25 So you've interviewed here in 3ABN? 00:17:36.28\00:17:37.75 Yeah. 00:17:37.79\00:17:39.15 And so that's how we found our sponsors 00:17:39.19\00:17:42.12 and so we were actually able to sponsor 00:17:42.16\00:17:44.36 around 400 a month with $130 a month. 00:17:44.39\00:17:49.20 That's how I want to be send, 00:17:49.23\00:17:50.97 and when I got sick, I said, 00:17:51.00\00:17:53.44 "God, how am I gonna make living?" 00:17:53.47\00:17:55.90 You know, now that I'm gonna do this full time, 00:17:55.94\00:17:58.11 we don't have any overhead, 00:17:58.14\00:18:00.14 we converted our game room into our office, 00:18:00.18\00:18:02.71 and we were using a ping pong table for our desk. 00:18:02.74\00:18:05.75 A ping pong table, I love that. 00:18:05.78\00:18:08.72 Later on we were able to buy furniture 00:18:08.75\00:18:11.59 and then I put together and even today is the same. 00:18:11.62\00:18:17.43 But God made it to where 00:18:17.46\00:18:21.06 I got long term disability for two years, 00:18:21.10\00:18:24.03 I mean they were paying me 00:18:24.07\00:18:25.40 because I got sick with the chemicals, 00:18:25.43\00:18:27.67 and two years later I got my long term disability 00:18:27.70\00:18:31.27 from social security, my asthma left. 00:18:31.31\00:18:34.44 Praise God. 00:18:34.48\00:18:35.81 No more asthma. 00:18:35.84\00:18:37.91 Cannot believe that, and that was 2004. 00:18:37.95\00:18:40.45 Yeah. 00:18:40.48\00:18:41.82 And so we did this for full time. 00:18:41.85\00:18:43.18 So the Adopt a Ministry 00:18:43.22\00:18:46.89 or Adopt the Minister International, 00:18:46.92\00:18:49.36 this is something that has become, 00:18:49.39\00:18:53.50 it's your passion obviously 00:18:53.53\00:18:55.36 but you're taking people who have been through school. 00:18:55.40\00:18:59.40 They're degreed pastors. 00:18:59.43\00:19:01.10 Do they all stay in the Philippines? 00:19:01.14\00:19:03.17 Some of them are in other countries, 00:19:03.20\00:19:05.97 but I want to tell you about them. 00:19:06.01\00:19:07.68 These are usually single, young men, 00:19:07.71\00:19:10.81 there are few women 00:19:10.85\00:19:12.21 who are the only Adventist in the family. 00:19:12.25\00:19:14.28 They found Jesus, 00:19:14.32\00:19:15.68 they had the truth through a crusade. 00:19:15.72\00:19:18.32 They get baptized 00:19:18.35\00:19:19.69 and when they're through with high school 00:19:19.72\00:19:21.06 some body was saying, 00:19:21.09\00:19:22.42 oh, you want to go to that college, 00:19:22.46\00:19:24.03 and be a working student. 00:19:24.06\00:19:25.39 So the majority of them are working students 00:19:25.43\00:19:29.00 and it took their maybe up to eight to ten years 00:19:29.03\00:19:32.07 for Theology College. 00:19:32.10\00:19:33.44 And then they go back to the missions, no jobs. 00:19:33.47\00:19:35.44 Right. 00:19:35.47\00:19:36.81 And so this was put in my heart which I have no idea, 00:19:36.84\00:19:41.61 and when the Lord put it in my heart, 00:19:41.64\00:19:43.35 the more I just got so to where 00:19:43.38\00:19:45.28 I have got to do something for these kids, you know, 00:19:45.31\00:19:47.98 so it's been, this is our 16th year. 00:19:48.02\00:19:50.79 16 years? 00:19:50.82\00:19:52.15 16 years of doing this 00:19:52.19\00:19:53.52 and it's like they're just not people, 00:19:53.56\00:19:55.89 they're my family. 00:19:55.92\00:19:57.26 When a kid gets sick, mom, my kids... 00:19:57.29\00:19:59.76 They call her mom. Yeah. 00:19:59.79\00:20:01.53 These are the babies in my dream. 00:20:01.56\00:20:03.23 Yes. Amen. 00:20:03.26\00:20:05.63 So today we still have around 300 00:20:05.67\00:20:07.47 but our sponsors are elderly sponsors are either 00:20:07.50\00:20:10.87 resting in Jesus or nursing homes. 00:20:10.91\00:20:12.87 So we need to show this. 00:20:12.91\00:20:15.71 You'll need more sponsors this way you're saying, 00:20:15.74\00:20:17.31 but you know, 00:20:17.35\00:20:18.85 you keep talking about 00:20:18.88\00:20:20.28 how you are helping the ministers, 00:20:20.32\00:20:22.55 how you are helping your kids, 00:20:22.58\00:20:23.92 but I am just keep thinking about how God, 00:20:23.95\00:20:26.55 how you're reaching the people. 00:20:26.59\00:20:28.66 So I mean when you send these pastors out, 00:20:28.69\00:20:34.53 then they're reaching people for God. 00:20:34.56\00:20:36.97 What kind of results, 00:20:37.00\00:20:38.47 I mean are there enough churches 00:20:38.50\00:20:39.97 or if they don't have a church to go to. 00:20:40.00\00:20:42.60 Do they go out and do like Bible work, 00:20:42.64\00:20:44.87 how does it work? 00:20:44.91\00:20:46.24 Okay, there are over 00:20:46.27\00:20:48.64 100 million people in the Philippines. 00:20:48.68\00:20:51.15 My goodness, I had no idea. 00:20:51.18\00:20:52.61 There are over 900,000 Adventists, 00:20:52.65\00:20:55.85 so they need pastors to begin with. 00:20:55.88\00:20:58.59 People had ask me like, 00:20:58.62\00:21:00.06 well, if there is no money, 00:21:00.09\00:21:01.42 why they keep encouraging these kids to go. 00:21:01.46\00:21:03.96 First of all, I think God called them. 00:21:03.99\00:21:05.33 Amen. 00:21:05.36\00:21:06.70 Okay, and with new baptisms 00:21:06.73\00:21:09.53 that they baptize over 30,000-35000 a year 00:21:09.56\00:21:13.50 in the Philippines alone. 00:21:13.54\00:21:14.87 I haven't talked about the other countries but... 00:21:14.90\00:21:17.34 This is the Adopt a Minister. 00:21:17.37\00:21:19.21 Yes. 00:21:19.24\00:21:20.58 This is your group, it's baptizing 30,000 a year? 00:21:20.61\00:21:23.24 The adopted ministers play a major role 00:21:23.28\00:21:26.72 in the evangelism, 00:21:26.75\00:21:29.02 and so they send me all these pictures, right. 00:21:29.05\00:21:31.32 You know and just to God be the glory 00:21:31.35\00:21:33.19 but they are out there sharing Jesus 00:21:33.22\00:21:37.76 because they're still so many, that needs to know about him. 00:21:37.79\00:21:41.40 Some of them go to un-entered territories, 00:21:41.43\00:21:43.63 no electricity, no water 00:21:43.67\00:21:46.13 and the living conditions are really bad, 00:21:46.17\00:21:50.47 but it's surprising to share Jesus... 00:21:50.51\00:21:52.44 Amen. 00:21:52.47\00:21:53.81 To find the people who will make it to heaven. 00:21:53.84\00:21:55.98 And I want them there too. 00:21:56.01\00:21:57.75 And so that's really, 00:21:57.78\00:21:59.11 I think that put the burden in my heart 00:21:59.15\00:22:01.02 to take care of these kids who don't have any living 00:22:01.05\00:22:03.69 but the main goal is to share Jesus for heaven. 00:22:03.72\00:22:06.86 So now, you give them $120? 00:22:06.89\00:22:09.92 $120 dollar for single and 130 for married. 00:22:09.96\00:22:13.93 All right, so tell me 00:22:13.96\00:22:15.36 how does that translate in the Philippines economy? 00:22:15.40\00:22:19.23 Can they live fairly well or...? 00:22:19.27\00:22:21.64 Not really. 00:22:21.67\00:22:23.00 But this is the most we can give. 00:22:23.04\00:22:24.37 Okay. 00:22:24.41\00:22:25.74 And they have food 00:22:25.77\00:22:27.11 and may be able to rent little house 00:22:27.14\00:22:30.95 or a little something, not much. 00:22:30.98\00:22:32.95 We send the money through the missions. 00:22:32.98\00:22:35.92 The mission people gives them assignments 00:22:35.95\00:22:41.42 and we sent them directly, but I know that the money goes. 00:22:41.46\00:22:45.36 We can say, they email. 00:22:45.39\00:22:48.56 They also email the donors 00:22:48.60\00:22:51.10 if they want to send to know about them. 00:22:51.13\00:22:54.07 Praise God. 00:22:54.10\00:22:56.00 So these young people, 00:22:56.04\00:23:00.11 trying to think of a young married couple 00:23:00.14\00:23:01.54 trying to live on the 130. 00:23:01.58\00:23:03.75 They just have such a passion for God 00:23:03.78\00:23:07.02 that they are willing to sacrifice 00:23:07.05\00:23:10.42 to go out and share the good news 00:23:10.45\00:23:12.22 because as we all know time is getting short. 00:23:12.25\00:23:16.09 We see more and more things are happening 00:23:16.12\00:23:19.23 even recently with Brexit, 00:23:19.26\00:23:21.43 you know when England left the EU. 00:23:21.46\00:23:24.63 We see things being fulfilled 00:23:24.67\00:23:27.20 that the Bible has talked about, 00:23:27.24\00:23:29.60 times are, you know, 00:23:29.64\00:23:31.31 soon Christ will be returning. 00:23:31.34\00:23:33.48 So what... 00:23:33.51\00:23:35.88 When you guys met, 00:23:35.91\00:23:37.78 you came back to live with her. 00:23:37.81\00:23:40.48 Did you know that... 00:23:40.52\00:23:41.85 I mean, do you work full time as well, 00:23:41.88\00:23:44.35 is this your full time dedication. 00:23:44.39\00:23:45.82 Yes, this is my full time ministry, 00:23:45.85\00:23:47.92 but I remember when I was growing up, 00:23:47.96\00:23:50.89 I really wanted to be a missionary 00:23:50.93\00:23:52.66 through my music so this is what I do, 00:23:52.69\00:23:56.40 I travel just about every weekend 00:23:56.43\00:23:58.43 or I used to travel just about every weekend 00:23:58.47\00:24:01.64 but something happened like in 2004, 00:24:01.67\00:24:08.51 close up 2014 two years ago 00:24:08.54\00:24:11.35 and I thought it was the end of the world for me. 00:24:11.38\00:24:13.72 I was traveling to Boston 00:24:13.75\00:24:17.15 and of all things I was going there 00:24:17.19\00:24:19.65 to perform for a disability awareness 00:24:19.69\00:24:22.12 in one of the churches there 00:24:22.16\00:24:23.49 and I was in Atlanta getting ready to board, 00:24:23.53\00:24:25.79 I was in the jet bridge. 00:24:25.83\00:24:27.93 I was standing 00:24:27.96\00:24:29.40 and the moment I took my next step, 00:24:29.43\00:24:32.53 I tripped and I... 00:24:32.57\00:24:35.14 So you wear a shoe since your leg is eight inches short 00:24:35.17\00:24:38.17 and you have quite a half, 00:24:38.21\00:24:39.54 well, an eight inch flap from essentially. 00:24:39.57\00:24:41.44 So I tripped, I have to be careful 00:24:41.48\00:24:43.14 because if I trip, 00:24:43.18\00:24:44.51 even if I step on even a tic-tac, 00:24:44.55\00:24:46.88 that tiny tic-tac it will throw me off 00:24:46.92\00:24:48.88 but I don't know, I don't know what happened. 00:24:48.92\00:24:51.25 When I was in the jet bridge, 00:24:51.29\00:24:53.09 I tripped and I ended up breaking my right femur, 00:24:53.12\00:24:57.56 and that was the first time I actually that I've been. 00:24:57.59\00:25:01.03 All my life I've never been to hospital 00:25:01.06\00:25:03.26 or seeing a doctor, 00:25:03.30\00:25:04.87 and I was in Atlanta all by myself 00:25:04.90\00:25:06.63 and can you imagine how terrified I was. 00:25:06.67\00:25:10.37 And I was even contemplating, 00:25:10.41\00:25:12.21 maybe I could catch the next flight back home 00:25:12.24\00:25:14.74 'cause Louisiana 00:25:14.78\00:25:16.11 because I wanted to be with family, 00:25:16.14\00:25:18.18 but I prayed and I am glad that the Lord helped me 00:25:18.21\00:25:20.32 to decide and I stayed in Atlanta. 00:25:20.35\00:25:22.18 So they took me to a nearby hospital there 00:25:22.22\00:25:26.19 and that happen on the Friday, 00:25:26.22\00:25:28.72 they did a surgery on Saturday, 00:25:28.76\00:25:30.59 the next day, and my mom, my adopted mom Reva 00:25:30.63\00:25:34.10 and my adopted dad, 00:25:34.13\00:25:36.06 they drove from Louisiana to be with me, 00:25:36.10\00:25:37.67 and I stayed in Atlanta for almost a week, 00:25:37.70\00:25:41.17 after that we drove back home 00:25:41.20\00:25:44.94 and then I saw a local orthopedic surgeon 00:25:44.97\00:25:47.68 in Baton Rouge and then, 00:25:47.71\00:25:50.11 they had another X-ray done and only to find out 00:25:50.15\00:25:52.41 that the bones were not connecting, 00:25:52.45\00:25:55.12 so in less than a month, 00:25:55.15\00:25:56.48 I had to go through two major surgeries. 00:25:56.52\00:25:58.19 Oh, mercy. 00:25:58.22\00:25:59.55 And the second surgeon decided to put a longer blade 00:25:59.59\00:26:04.13 and ten screws, 00:26:04.16\00:26:06.19 so I keep telling everybody 00:26:06.23\00:26:07.76 that I am a full fledged bionic woman now. 00:26:07.80\00:26:10.97 You know, I was just thinking how horrible but... 00:26:11.00\00:26:14.17 I can laugh about it now but at that time. 00:26:14.20\00:26:17.01 What a blessing, it was your leg 00:26:17.04\00:26:18.47 and not your left arm. 00:26:18.51\00:26:19.84 Oh, that's true, that's true. 00:26:19.87\00:26:21.21 Exact, and that's what I was thinking too. 00:26:21.24\00:26:23.18 The devil was after her to stop. 00:26:23.21\00:26:26.01 Yeah, the devil was trying to stop me from serving God, 00:26:26.05\00:26:28.85 but I am glad and I am glad, 00:26:28.88\00:26:30.32 and I know to whom I belong. 00:26:30.35\00:26:32.25 Amen, so you are doing well now. 00:26:32.29\00:26:34.06 Yes. 00:26:34.09\00:26:35.42 And he has not stopped you. 00:26:35.46\00:26:36.89 So then you just go to Brown and talked about the ministry 00:26:36.93\00:26:41.06 and do a concert and try to raise, 00:26:41.10\00:26:45.43 raise up donors to support these pastors. 00:26:45.47\00:26:48.17 Is that what you do? 00:26:48.20\00:26:49.54 Okay, so usually when someone then 00:26:49.57\00:26:52.87 one of these pastors, when they are, 00:26:52.91\00:26:55.68 you've been doing this for 16 years, are these, 00:26:55.71\00:26:59.48 are you supporting the same 00:26:59.51\00:27:01.32 400 pastors over these last 16 years 00:27:01.35\00:27:04.05 or do some of them eventually find a conference position, 00:27:04.09\00:27:08.76 how does that work? 00:27:08.79\00:27:10.13 When we find out we were coming, 00:27:10.16\00:27:12.43 I had to go to my list 00:27:12.46\00:27:14.26 and I counted around 200 are already employed, 00:27:14.30\00:27:18.93 but see we have new graduates every year, 00:27:18.97\00:27:22.70 and at the moment I cannot... 00:27:22.74\00:27:25.67 We cannot take anybody 00:27:25.71\00:27:27.04 because there is no, there is not enough money. 00:27:27.08\00:27:29.44 So we have to come in here but we still maintain 300. 00:27:29.48\00:27:33.85 But some are okay, we talk also about... 00:27:33.88\00:27:36.69 We have other pastors that we sent to Thailand. 00:27:36.72\00:27:40.32 They are working there now permanently. 00:27:40.36\00:27:42.16 We have students from Laos, Laos mission. 00:27:42.19\00:27:45.46 It's a small mission. 00:27:45.49\00:27:46.93 And they sent four theology students, 00:27:46.96\00:27:49.10 and we were able to find sponsors for them 00:27:49.13\00:27:52.80 and they graduated from theology college 00:27:52.83\00:27:56.30 and they are back now in Laos 00:27:56.34\00:27:57.71 and they're actively like one of them young, 00:27:57.74\00:27:59.87 young guy is now the executive missionary minister 00:27:59.91\00:28:04.31 for the whole mission. 00:28:04.35\00:28:06.05 You know all of them are working. 00:28:06.08\00:28:08.08 We have two new ones coming 00:28:08.12\00:28:10.15 but the people are asking for help from us, 00:28:10.19\00:28:14.02 but we also have so much in the Philippines. 00:28:14.06\00:28:16.36 We have, we also have adopted minister from Haiti. 00:28:16.39\00:28:19.89 We have a guy from Haiti that gives money for them 00:28:19.93\00:28:23.57 and then we had, 00:28:23.60\00:28:25.87 we had a donor who sponsor 00:28:25.90\00:28:28.94 theology graduates from Africa, 00:28:28.97\00:28:31.27 and then we have from Papua New Guinea, 00:28:31.31\00:28:36.11 but this time we still have people asking like 00:28:36.14\00:28:39.38 Pakistan Adventist mission have called, had written. 00:28:39.41\00:28:44.19 I got several emails asking for help 00:28:44.22\00:28:47.26 but we can't help them because we don't, 00:28:47.29\00:28:49.59 we cannot help every body in the Philippines right now. 00:28:49.62\00:28:52.26 Okay, we were talking about 00:28:52.29\00:28:54.10 over 900,000 Adventists in the Philippines. 00:28:54.13\00:28:58.63 You don't realize that's almost 00:28:58.67\00:29:00.00 as many as in the United States, 00:29:00.04\00:29:01.57 that's amazing. 00:29:01.60\00:29:02.94 Yes, in that little bitty island like I said, 00:29:02.97\00:29:04.67 if you put the Philippines 00:29:04.71\00:29:06.91 which has 7,000 islands over 7,000 islands 00:29:06.94\00:29:10.85 is as big as Arizona and that's all it is. 00:29:10.88\00:29:13.58 And you are talking about outing all these people, 00:29:13.62\00:29:15.55 but God somehow had put this. 00:29:15.58\00:29:19.69 And the Philippines is the Christian nation 00:29:19.72\00:29:22.42 but still all those people there they can speak English, 00:29:22.46\00:29:25.33 and so we're able to send ministers, 00:29:25.36\00:29:28.06 our theology graduates from them 00:29:28.10\00:29:29.43 and a lot of countries from Asia, 00:29:29.46\00:29:31.23 they send them to the Philippines 00:29:31.27\00:29:33.03 to take theology. 00:29:33.07\00:29:35.24 This is why I am... 00:29:35.27\00:29:37.01 We're hoping that we can do another 16 years 00:29:37.04\00:29:39.31 if the Lord does not come yet. 00:29:39.34\00:29:41.24 But we also have a couple, 00:29:41.28\00:29:45.51 well, we have a few that are lay people. 00:29:45.55\00:29:47.62 Okay, I didn't want to bring this up 00:29:47.65\00:29:50.09 because my thing is Adopt a Minister, 00:29:50.12\00:29:54.09 the theology graduates 00:29:54.12\00:29:55.46 but we have Richard Bourde 00:29:55.49\00:29:58.03 born with no arms and no legs 00:29:58.06\00:29:59.93 and I wish I could have shown a picture. 00:29:59.96\00:30:02.23 No arms, no legs, 00:30:02.26\00:30:03.60 he is giving Bible studies and they're us. 00:30:03.63\00:30:06.97 We have to give them a lots typing 00:30:07.00\00:30:08.70 and this little young boy is, 00:30:08.74\00:30:11.04 is bringing a lot of souls to the Lord. 00:30:11.07\00:30:13.21 We have a blinded man who came and ask me 00:30:13.24\00:30:16.21 if he can be in under Adopt a Minister. 00:30:16.24\00:30:18.75 Now I have to make exceptions 00:30:18.78\00:30:20.55 these are, you know, so, 00:30:20.58\00:30:22.58 they send their baptism pictures. 00:30:22.62\00:30:26.12 They're working for the Lord 00:30:26.15\00:30:27.49 so there are some 00:30:27.52\00:30:28.86 that are not 00:34:07.48\00:34:09.08 I've been... 00:34:09.11\00:34:11.28 I've been but I've only attended 00:34:11.31\00:34:13.35 like a small group like may be of about 30. 00:34:13.38\00:34:16.48 I would like to see one 00:34:16.52\00:34:17.85 when they're baptizing at the house of 2000, 00:34:17.89\00:34:19.79 you know, but I've not been 00:34:19.82\00:34:21.49 because it's hard to travel. 00:34:21.52\00:34:22.86 Sure. 00:34:22.89\00:34:24.23 And but this... when they say mom, 00:34:24.26\00:34:26.80 we have this many, the pictures shows 00:34:26.83\00:34:30.50 and but I was also gonna say about 00:34:30.53\00:34:34.14 some of our adopted ministers are in 00:34:34.17\00:34:37.27 very dangerous territories and only through... 00:34:37.31\00:34:42.51 There is a quite a bit of danger 00:34:42.54\00:34:44.08 in the Philippines. 00:34:44.11\00:34:45.45 Especially in those isolated place 00:34:45.48\00:34:48.95 but the Lord always make sure that they are protected. 00:34:48.98\00:34:52.75 They, I mean, when they talk about 00:34:52.79\00:34:54.12 angels watching over them 00:34:54.16\00:34:55.66 and then there's people that are supposed 00:34:55.69\00:34:59.33 to lead dangerous people find Christ and accept Jesus. 00:34:59.36\00:35:03.37 Praise God. 00:35:03.40\00:35:04.73 We had one of the first pictures 00:35:04.77\00:35:08.44 that we had was of brother, 00:35:08.47\00:35:10.41 it was a baptism of two enemies. 00:35:10.44\00:35:14.71 They met during a baptism, the man, 00:35:14.74\00:35:20.48 the one man's father was killed by this guy 00:35:20.52\00:35:23.99 and they both saw each other, 00:35:24.02\00:35:25.35 they were bitter enemies 00:35:25.39\00:35:26.72 and they saw each other in baptism. 00:35:26.76\00:35:28.52 Now only the love of God can do that. 00:35:28.56\00:35:30.29 Only the love and so 00:35:30.33\00:35:31.66 they were able to embrace one another... 00:35:31.69\00:35:33.16 They get a picture or embracing. 00:35:33.19\00:35:35.16 Glory to God. 00:35:35.20\00:35:37.00 I'm getting chills. 00:35:37.03\00:35:38.37 Yeah, it's amazing how 00:35:38.40\00:35:40.14 and the stories sometimes would be just so awesome 00:35:40.17\00:35:43.20 when they will talk about going to places 00:35:43.24\00:35:45.61 and they will be served food and they'll be an extra plate. 00:35:45.64\00:35:51.41 And they say what's that extra plate for? 00:35:51.45\00:35:54.12 You know, they would question 00:35:54.15\00:35:55.48 but the Lord has put angels with them. 00:35:55.52\00:35:57.75 So those are things that I know happens over there, 00:35:57.79\00:36:02.32 because Jesus is so wonderful 00:36:02.36\00:36:04.56 and had called Asian people. 00:36:04.59\00:36:06.16 Amen. 00:36:06.19\00:36:07.56 And many of them are working for the Lord in missions. 00:36:07.60\00:36:11.83 But there's still so many that are asking, 00:36:11.87\00:36:15.07 and you know, you think about it, 00:36:15.10\00:36:17.11 if I was a student, I say, 00:36:17.14\00:36:19.47 I'm gonna find a profession where I'll make money. 00:36:19.51\00:36:23.75 They know there's no money there. 00:36:23.78\00:36:25.31 They also know that they will not have jobs 00:36:25.35\00:36:29.72 but they still continue and many of our students, 00:36:29.75\00:36:32.62 many of the theology students are writing, 00:36:32.65\00:36:34.66 asking for help because they want to finish. 00:36:34.69\00:36:37.06 That's dedication. 00:36:37.09\00:36:38.93 Well, I'll tell you what right now 00:36:38.96\00:36:40.43 'cause that made me cry. 00:36:40.46\00:36:43.43 You can count on my husband and I will support, 00:36:43.47\00:36:46.27 we will adopt a minister. 00:36:46.30\00:36:48.00 You can count on that. 00:36:48.04\00:36:50.11 Now speaking of husbands, 00:36:50.14\00:36:53.54 you're giving full time to this and you're not, 00:36:53.58\00:36:58.25 you all don't accept any money for this. 00:36:58.28\00:37:00.92 You're not getting paid anything. 00:37:00.95\00:37:03.72 There's your husband help 00:37:03.75\00:37:06.39 or is he working outside of the home, 00:37:06.42\00:37:08.56 does he help you with the ministry or? 00:37:08.59\00:37:10.93 Okay, in the past 15 years I'd say, 00:37:10.96\00:37:15.60 these ministers would come, 00:37:15.63\00:37:17.97 would write to us and send us pictures of sick people. 00:37:18.00\00:37:21.80 And mostly with people who were deformed, 00:37:21.84\00:37:24.97 they have tumors on their faces 00:37:25.01\00:37:26.74 or it's mostly people that you can see 00:37:26.78\00:37:28.74 what's wrong with them. 00:37:28.78\00:37:30.11 Not like a kidney disease or something. 00:37:30.15\00:37:32.88 And we would just feel so bad so we ended up, 00:37:32.91\00:37:37.19 I would ask for, 00:37:37.22\00:37:38.55 I would normally ask for help from the donors, okay? 00:37:38.59\00:37:42.02 Well this became more and more 00:37:42.06\00:37:43.69 that we decided to start another nonprofit organization. 00:37:43.73\00:37:46.83 By the way Adopt a Minister is a 5O1C3 00:37:46.86\00:37:49.96 non profit organization 00:37:50.00\00:37:51.33 and you'll get a tax deductible receipt. 00:37:51.37\00:37:54.04 So we started another 00:37:54.07\00:37:56.71 non profit organization called Help The Needy Incorporated. 00:37:56.74\00:38:00.71 That's my husband take care of that. 00:38:00.74\00:38:02.94 Okay. 00:38:02.98\00:38:04.31 So there, we have our three desks 00:38:04.35\00:38:06.21 and he is busy over there, 00:38:06.25\00:38:07.88 Grace is busy here and I'm busy over here 00:38:07.92\00:38:10.15 and we're doing paper work, phone calls whatever 00:38:10.19\00:38:12.75 in our little office. 00:38:12.79\00:38:14.52 So that's what he does, 00:38:14.56\00:38:16.69 and I told him that I wanted Adopt A Minister 00:38:16.73\00:38:19.39 to be emphasized more 00:38:19.43\00:38:21.06 but he also want his Help The Needy. 00:38:21.10\00:38:24.60 And but the amazing thing is when you see a face 00:38:24.63\00:38:29.87 that almost is so huge with a big tumor hanging here 00:38:29.90\00:38:34.71 and we send off their stories 00:38:34.74\00:38:37.08 and the same donors would send us money 00:38:37.11\00:38:41.75 and then they had their surgeries, 00:38:41.78\00:38:45.25 that's so amazing, 00:38:45.29\00:38:46.69 and then they find Jesus, the whole family finds Jesus. 00:38:46.72\00:38:49.76 They become Seventh-day Adventist. 00:38:49.79\00:38:51.13 Yes. 00:38:51.16\00:38:52.49 Most of these people are not. So just help the needy. 00:38:52.53\00:38:53.86 And then after they've been helped, 00:38:53.90\00:38:55.86 yeah, they... 00:38:55.90\00:38:57.53 Well, that was Christ's approach was to heal 00:38:57.57\00:39:01.07 and then to minister to the physically 00:39:01.10\00:39:03.94 and then spiritually so that... 00:39:03.97\00:39:06.37 So that's his job, 00:39:06.41\00:39:07.91 he's very good at what he does would Help the Needy 00:39:07.94\00:39:11.31 and we take care of Adopt a Minister. 00:39:11.35\00:39:13.42 But we also do his, 00:39:13.45\00:39:14.88 so we're actually doing all three, 00:39:14.92\00:39:18.55 but we gave the paper work 00:39:18.59\00:39:20.99 for Help the Needy for him at this time, 00:39:21.02\00:39:23.12 and he's very good at what he does. 00:39:23.16\00:39:24.49 I said make sure you mention "Help the Needy." 00:39:24.53\00:39:28.46 You know, I have to say this, Reva. 00:39:28.50\00:39:31.43 I'm so impressed with both of you 00:39:31.47\00:39:33.84 and with what God has done in your lives 00:39:33.87\00:39:36.24 but in how you have recognized God's goodness 00:39:36.27\00:39:40.98 and not taken it for granted. 00:39:41.01\00:39:43.11 And how you're dedicating and even sacrificing for him 00:39:43.14\00:39:47.65 and for his work but it's amazing to think, 00:39:47.68\00:39:50.69 insurance policy 00:39:50.72\00:39:53.59 to build a church. 00:39:53.62\00:39:56.73 But that's a one time act, the thing that impresses me 00:39:56.76\00:40:01.26 the most is that day by day you're dedicating your life, 00:40:01.30\00:40:06.60 all of your time, your talent to the Lord 00:40:06.63\00:40:10.41 and not asking for anything in return. 00:40:10.44\00:40:13.17 But there will be a reward, it may not be here, 00:40:13.21\00:40:17.28 but there will be a reward 00:40:17.31\00:40:19.21 and it's just, it's such a blessing. 00:40:19.25\00:40:21.85 I want to go ahead, 00:40:21.88\00:40:23.42 we have an address roll for them. 00:40:23.45\00:40:26.86 Like I said this touches my heart so much 00:40:26.89\00:40:29.16 because I know what happens in the Philippines. 00:40:29.19\00:40:31.56 I know it can be a very dangerous place, 00:40:31.59\00:40:33.56 there's a lot of gangs. 00:40:33.60\00:40:35.80 We've been warned, I've been invited over there 00:40:35.83\00:40:37.70 and people say "Oh, you shouldn't go, 00:40:37.73\00:40:39.33 you'll be kidnapped." 00:40:39.37\00:40:40.70 So there are things going on, 00:40:40.74\00:40:42.07 but there are so many people 00:40:42.10\00:40:44.71 who need the Lord there and to think that 00:40:44.74\00:40:47.94 you could actually take two of these characters 00:40:47.98\00:40:51.91 who were bitter enemies, evil people 00:40:51.95\00:40:57.02 who've come to know the Lord meet at a baptism 00:40:57.05\00:41:00.26 and are able to embrace one another. 00:41:00.29\00:41:02.22 You see the hand of the Lord is moving very strongly 00:41:02.26\00:41:05.69 and the Adopt a Minister program, 00:41:05.73\00:41:07.96 you've got people who are like Reva said. 00:41:08.00\00:41:12.43 They instead of saying "Oh, well, let's see." 00:41:12.47\00:41:15.74 What, what degree can I get 00:41:15.77\00:41:19.11 that I can make a nice living for my 00:41:19.14\00:41:21.61 and have a nice home. 00:41:21.64\00:41:23.55 No, they go into ministry, they go, 00:41:23.58\00:41:26.75 get their theological training, 00:41:26.78\00:41:28.68 sometimes taking them up to eight years 00:41:28.72\00:41:30.85 because they have to work. 00:41:30.89\00:41:32.75 Yet knowing, there's not any money in it 00:41:32.79\00:41:34.92 and that they may not even have a place to be sent. 00:41:34.96\00:41:37.69 So if you would like to adopt, 00:41:37.73\00:41:39.86 if the Holy Spirit is impressing you, 00:41:39.89\00:41:41.50 and you'd like to adopt a minister, 00:41:41.53\00:41:44.73 here's how you can get in touch 00:41:44.77\00:41:46.53 with this non profit organization. 00:41:46.57\00:41:51.24 Adopt a Minister International is a non profit organization 00:41:51.27\00:41:54.48 that pays the salaries of 00:42:07.42\00:42:10.66 That's Adopt a Minister International, 00:42:10.69\00:42:12.69 7811 Laurel Court, 00:42:12.73\00:42:14.90 Denham Springs, Louisiana 70726. 00:42:14.93\00:42:18.23 You can call 225-664-8174. 00:42:18.27\00:42:22.14 That's 225-664-8174. 00:42:22.17\00:42:25.81 You can also visit their website at a-a-m.org, 00:42:25.84\00:42:30.55 that's a-a-m.org. 00:42:30.58\00:42:33.72 This is a very worthy cause and time is short, 00:42:37.32\00:42:40.26 we need to get the message out. 00:42:40.29\00:42:42.86 Now Mary Grace, 00:42:42.89\00:42:44.43 you look like you're about to burst. 00:42:44.46\00:42:45.96 You want to say something I can tell. 00:42:45.99\00:42:48.36 I like to share one thing. 00:42:48.40\00:42:50.03 Several years ago there were a number of people 00:42:50.07\00:42:53.64 who wanted to introduce me to the world. 00:42:53.67\00:42:56.10 They told me that I could make a lot of money of my talent. 00:42:56.14\00:42:59.27 I could make that much money that I could buy anything 00:42:59.31\00:43:01.94 that I want, cars, houses but they told me 00:43:01.98\00:43:06.35 that I could not mention anything about God, 00:43:06.38\00:43:09.05 nor that two ministries 00:43:09.08\00:43:10.45 that I'm so passionate about. 00:43:10.49\00:43:11.82 They only wanted me to talk about Mary Grace, 00:43:11.85\00:43:14.56 and what Mary Grace can do, 00:43:14.59\00:43:16.32 so I turned them down 00:43:16.36\00:43:18.13 because I know it's not about me, 00:43:18.16\00:43:20.03 now it's about God. 00:43:20.06\00:43:21.40 And it's not about what I can do 00:43:21.43\00:43:22.96 but about what God can do through me. 00:43:23.00\00:43:25.03 Amen. 00:43:25.07\00:43:26.40 And one more thing, 00:43:26.43\00:43:27.80 I was thinking that my stob was cut just right. 00:43:27.84\00:43:31.11 Because if it's were any longer or shorter 00:43:31.14\00:43:34.48 then it would probably be hard for me to play the piano 00:43:34.51\00:43:37.91 and I have an elbow joint right here 00:43:37.95\00:43:39.78 which I could not bend. 00:43:39.81\00:43:41.32 I was thinking if it were bendable 00:43:41.35\00:43:42.68 then probably it would be difficult 00:43:42.72\00:43:44.05 for me to play the piano as well. 00:43:44.09\00:43:46.25 And there's like a flesh, a protrusion 00:43:46.29\00:43:48.09 right at the tip of my stob, 00:43:48.12\00:43:50.43 that's just a right size to hit one key. 00:43:50.46\00:43:54.33 Having said that, I know without a doubt 00:43:54.36\00:43:55.86 that I was created perfect after all. 00:43:55.90\00:43:58.53 Amen. 00:43:58.57\00:43:59.90 Perfect, and perfect for what God can plan for you as well. 00:43:59.93\00:44:04.01 Well, we'd love to hear you play another song so we, 00:44:04.04\00:44:07.61 right now we want to listen to Mary Grace 00:44:07.64\00:44:10.98 as she plays Via Dolorosa. 00:44:11.01\00:44:13.72 Amazing. 00:47:46.73\00:47:48.26 Truly you are wonderfully made 00:47:48.30\00:47:50.87 and this is such a blessing, 00:47:50.90\00:47:52.40 so glad that you were using your talents for the Lord. 00:47:52.43\00:47:55.50 Now you had mentioned something that you wanted to say? 00:47:55.54\00:47:58.74 Okay, I was gonna say that 00:47:58.77\00:48:03.08 you know the greater mission 00:48:03.11\00:48:04.65 to share Jesus was given not only to the disciples 00:48:04.68\00:48:08.38 but to every believer. 00:48:08.42\00:48:10.02 Amen. 00:48:10.05\00:48:11.39 And if you cannot do it, 00:48:11.42\00:48:14.02 send somebody who can, 00:48:14.06\00:48:15.59 right? Amen. 00:48:15.62\00:48:16.96 So through your prayers and donations, 00:48:16.99\00:48:20.60 if you want to adopt a minister or ministers, 00:48:20.63\00:48:24.50 they can write to you and you know 00:48:24.53\00:48:28.00 hear from them firsthand what's happening over there 00:48:28.04\00:48:32.01 where your money is going 00:48:32.04\00:48:34.54 and they would be precious souls for the kingdom. 00:48:34.58\00:48:37.18 Amen. Glory to God. 00:48:37.21\00:48:38.55 There are so many people 00:48:38.58\00:48:39.91 who still needs to hear about him. 00:48:39.95\00:48:41.32 Oh, right. 00:48:41.35\00:48:42.68 And time is short. 00:48:42.72\00:48:44.52 Very short. Time is short. 00:48:44.55\00:48:46.45 This you're echoing my heart's passion is 00:48:46.49\00:48:51.76 to get every member involved, 00:48:51.79\00:48:54.76 every member at the church involved 00:48:54.80\00:48:57.97 in doing the work of the Lord. 00:48:58.00\00:48:59.63 So praise God. 00:48:59.67\00:49:01.44 Well, we're almost, 00:49:01.47\00:49:03.10 we're getting down close to the end of the hour 00:49:03.14\00:49:05.71 and we wanted to have Mary Grace 00:49:05.74\00:49:08.48 play for us one more time, 00:49:08.51\00:49:09.98 now this song is titled Lord Be Glorified, right? 00:49:10.01\00:49:14.88 So this is Mary Grace, God's wonder on the piano. 00:49:14.92\00:49:18.85
