00:03:53.56\00:03:55.33 The black shirt means for anyone who is a volunteer, 00:03:55.36\00:03:59.07 we get a black shirt. 00:03:59.10\00:04:00.44 Now it could be in many different kind of departments, 00:04:00.47\00:04:03.41 and so it will depend where you're placed 00:04:03.44\00:04:05.27 or where you chose to have preference for. 00:04:05.31\00:04:08.71 I see. 00:04:08.74\00:04:10.08 So your black shirt means that you chose to volunteer. 00:04:10.11\00:04:13.72 Right. What is your church? 00:04:13.75\00:04:15.18 My church is Desert Cove Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:04:15.22\00:04:17.55 in Arizona. 00:04:17.59\00:04:18.92 Yay! 00:04:18.95\00:04:20.29 So you came all the way from Arizona? 00:04:20.32\00:04:21.66 Yes, but I'm not the furthest, I have friends who came out 00:04:21.69\00:04:24.26 from Baltimore, and from Virginia, everywhere, 00:04:24.29\00:04:27.80 Michigan, it's everywhere. 00:04:27.83\00:04:29.66 Just coming in to flood this area. 00:04:29.70\00:04:32.00 Why did you feel it was so important, Sue, 00:04:32.03\00:04:34.77 take away time from your job, perhaps your family, 00:04:34.80\00:04:37.41 your church to come to Los Angeles 00:04:37.44\00:04:39.04 to be part of this, why is this important to you? 00:04:39.07\00:04:41.98 Well, not only it was a great opportunity 00:04:42.01\00:04:46.38 for local mission field 00:04:46.41\00:04:49.55 and you don't even have to buy a plane ticket. 00:04:49.58\00:04:51.35 Well, at least for me I didn't have to. 00:04:51.39\00:04:53.19 So that was the huge incentive as well, 00:04:53.22\00:04:55.56 and the climate that we're in these days, 00:04:55.59\00:04:58.86 we know the work is getting done. 00:04:58.89\00:05:00.93 And we want Christ to come. 00:05:00.96\00:05:02.30 We want the love of Christ to just exude out, 00:05:02.33\00:05:05.00 and He was all about healing, recreating, restoration, 00:05:05.03\00:05:09.10 that's huge and so it's a medical ministry, 00:05:09.14\00:05:12.74 right arm of the gospel. 00:05:12.77\00:05:14.31 So in this city of angels, we want to make a lot of angels 00:05:14.34\00:05:16.01 for His glory, so that's huge. 00:05:16.04\00:05:19.61 Amen, thank you so much. 00:05:19.65\00:05:20.98 Now two quick questions because, one, 00:05:21.02\00:05:23.12 are you a working person, are you working person? 00:05:23.15\00:05:24.82 Yes, yes. 00:05:24.85\00:05:26.19 I'm a speech pathologist, 00:05:26.22\00:05:27.56 that's mine line of training, yes. 00:05:27.59\00:05:29.52 So you had to leave your job, take time off to do that. 00:05:29.56\00:05:32.93 Correct, I let my boss know ahead of time. 00:05:32.96\00:05:35.56 I had to put in the time correct. 00:05:35.60\00:05:37.20 A little while ago, 00:05:37.23\00:05:38.83 I saw you gathered the group together 00:05:38.87\00:05:40.84 and you were praying a very passionate prayer. 00:05:40.87\00:05:43.34 What was motivating that prayer? 00:05:43.37\00:05:44.71 Why were you praying so much, it was in middle of the day, 00:05:44.74\00:05:47.41 but you gather them together for something special, 00:05:47.44\00:05:49.24 why was that? 00:05:49.28\00:05:50.61 Yes, it was just on my heart. 00:05:50.65\00:05:52.05 I'm all about prayer ministry, 00:05:52.08\00:05:54.15 and intercessory prayer is huge. 00:05:54.18\00:05:56.75 And God says knock, knock, knock, right? 00:05:56.79\00:06:00.39 "And knock and it shall be given you, 00:06:00.42\00:06:02.09 seek and you shall find." 00:06:02.12\00:06:03.59 But it's like asking for that bread, 00:06:03.63\00:06:05.63 the lady comes out at midnight and saying, 00:06:05.66\00:06:07.00 "Lord, please help." 00:06:07.03\00:06:08.36 And we're in a dire straits 00:06:08.40\00:06:09.73 a little bit with some of probably 00:06:09.76\00:06:13.03 the other force working against the good 00:06:13.07\00:06:15.64 that's coming out of here. 00:06:15.67\00:06:17.01 So we wanted to make sure, we as a group came together 00:06:17.04\00:06:19.71 and had intercessory prayer. 00:06:19.74\00:06:21.08 That's such a huge heart passion of mine, yeah. 00:06:21.11\00:06:23.85 Now are you in charge of this group 00:06:23.88\00:06:25.95 or did you just take it upon yourself 00:06:25.98\00:06:27.35 to gather them together for prayer, 00:06:27.38\00:06:28.72 because you saw something going on 00:06:28.75\00:06:30.12 that you needed to push back again? 00:06:30.15\00:06:32.12 Correct, the ladder. 00:06:32.15\00:06:33.69 The person in charge actually she's wonderful. 00:06:33.72\00:06:35.66 Cathleen Myers, and the whole team behind me, 00:06:35.69\00:06:37.76 they're just great. 00:06:37.79\00:06:39.13 They've been working nonstop since yesterday. 00:06:39.16\00:06:41.03 We've been here again this morning 00:06:41.06\00:06:42.50 since 6 o'clock in the morning too. 00:06:42.53\00:06:44.40 But I know some of the things 00:06:44.43\00:06:46.50 that was going on that maybe they didn't, 00:06:46.53\00:06:48.40 and so I just came and I said, 00:06:48.44\00:06:49.77 "Hey, you guys, we have a slight little pause time. 00:06:49.80\00:06:52.81 Let's get together and pray. Take as many times as you can. 00:06:52.84\00:06:55.84 Even in our minds like continually just keep praying, 00:06:55.88\00:06:59.15 yes. 00:06:59.18\00:07:00.52 It's early, we're on the first day. 00:07:00.55\00:07:01.88 Right. 00:07:01.92\00:07:03.25 But have you met anyone or run into anyone 00:07:03.28\00:07:04.85 that would kind of stick out in your mind, 00:07:04.89\00:07:06.59 maybe a little special story that touched your heart so far? 00:07:06.62\00:07:09.09 So far, in terms of, I am dealing more 00:07:09.12\00:07:11.76 with the volunteer people coming in. 00:07:11.79\00:07:14.16 So I haven't had as much interface with the patients 00:07:14.20\00:07:16.87 that are coming in. 00:07:16.90\00:07:18.23 I hope to, but in terms of the volunteers, 00:07:18.27\00:07:21.07 there's several stories that do come to mind 00:07:21.10\00:07:23.64 of how they made it here and, 00:07:23.67\00:07:25.94 you know, they're running on lows, 00:07:25.97\00:07:28.01 low level finance and all this stuff, 00:07:28.04\00:07:30.48 but it's a walk of faith for them to. 00:07:30.51\00:07:33.05 It's jus t wonderful to see how many of the body of Christ 00:07:33.08\00:07:37.05 has comes together to really support 00:07:37.09\00:07:39.49 this for city of Los Angeles. 00:07:39.52\00:07:42.59 We talk about the right arm of the gospel, 00:07:42.62\00:07:44.79 and a medical machinery work, 00:07:44.83\00:07:48.40 many times we've got just maybe a little blood pressure thing 00:07:48.43\00:07:49.96 or little something, 00:07:50.00\00:07:51.53 but this is sort of medical machinery work on steroids... 00:07:51.57\00:07:54.74 Yeah. 00:07:54.77\00:07:56.10 And when you get a town this big, 00:07:56.14\00:07:57.51 this is kind of what you need. 00:07:57.54\00:07:59.01 So do you think this is all the effort, all the time, 00:07:59.04\00:08:01.91 all the money, all the logistics, 00:08:01.94\00:08:03.55 is it worth it to you? 00:08:03.58\00:08:05.21 Wow, well, one soul is worth everything 00:08:05.25\00:08:09.08 to our heavenly Father. 00:08:09.12\00:08:10.79 So in that mindset, if I'm heavenly minded, 00:08:10.82\00:08:14.76 this is all worth it. 00:08:14.79\00:08:16.52 And not only is it bettering the people that are coming 00:08:16.56\00:08:18.63 through the doors, I think it's a great sense of honing 00:08:18.66\00:08:22.63 our characters for His kingdom, 00:08:22.66\00:08:24.97 even for our experience here, because there is times, 00:08:25.00\00:08:27.34 there's several of the workers here, 00:08:27.37\00:08:29.00 they didn't have a break at all. 00:08:29.04\00:08:30.81 They work straight nine hours. 00:08:30.84\00:08:32.97 Barely getting even a bathroom break. 00:08:33.01\00:08:34.74 I think some of them didn't even get that. 00:08:34.78\00:08:37.35 And it's a sense of okay, my sense of intolerance 00:08:37.38\00:08:40.75 and my self rising, like I'm like okay, 00:08:40.78\00:08:43.39 I got to just give that up and be selfless, 00:08:43.42\00:08:45.95 and be other centered for the sake of someone else. 00:08:45.99\00:08:49.66 So that's huge. Yes. 00:08:49.69\00:08:51.99 So this is kind of like putting legs on the gospel, 00:08:52.03\00:08:54.80 putting some shoes on the gospel. 00:08:54.83\00:08:56.33 Correct, correct. 00:08:56.36\00:08:57.70 Now some people might think 00:08:57.73\00:08:59.07 it's a splash and dash thing too. 00:08:59.10\00:09:00.47 Like "Oh, we can't boom." 00:09:00.50\00:09:01.84 And then we're out, but hopefully 00:09:01.87\00:09:03.34 it's making the local agencies, 00:09:03.37\00:09:06.17 especially in our church the local agencies 00:09:06.21\00:09:08.58 of this city and the, you know, 00:09:08.61\00:09:11.21 the areas beyond get a little bit more like, 00:09:11.25\00:09:14.28 "Hey, let's wake up. 00:09:14.32\00:09:15.65 We got to do more here too. 00:09:15.68\00:09:17.02 So hopefully that's an impetus to that as well. 00:09:17.05\00:09:21.82 And God bless you. Thank you. 00:09:21.86\00:09:23.19 Thanks you so much. Couple of questions. 00:10:09.80\00:10:13.11 One, how many students from your school are here? 00:10:13.14\00:10:17.25 I believe it's 25 students. 00:10:17.28\00:10:20.62 And were you all given specific assignments 00:10:20.65\00:10:23.08 before you got here, or did they just place you 00:10:23.12\00:10:24.89 when you got here? 00:10:24.92\00:10:26.65 When we got here, 00:10:26.69\00:10:28.02 we just had to go sign up in the booth 00:10:28.06\00:10:30.29 and then they just access 00:10:30.33\00:10:32.03 with what department we want to go to. 00:10:32.06\00:10:34.93 So basically, they just set us anywhere, 00:10:34.96\00:10:37.70 but we had our options of where we wanted to be. 00:10:37.73\00:10:40.40 Okay. Now where did you select to go? 00:10:40.44\00:10:42.54 I selected to go to the dental department, 00:10:42.57\00:10:44.87 and yeah. 00:10:44.91\00:10:46.57 I forgot to mention, Tiffany is a senior. 00:10:46.61\00:10:49.04 She is senior class president 00:10:49.08\00:10:50.81 and where you gonna go to school in the fall? 00:10:50.85\00:10:53.18 Pacific Union College. 00:10:53.21\00:10:55.05 You gonna stay on the coast? 00:10:55.08\00:10:56.42 Yes. Alrighty. 00:10:56.45\00:10:58.52 This is our second day here. 00:10:58.55\00:11:00.12 You had a full day yesterday, 00:11:00.16\00:11:01.62 tell me exactly what you were doing in the dental department? 00:11:01.66\00:11:04.73 I was basically helping the doctors 00:11:04.76\00:11:07.96 and going back and forth 00:11:08.00\00:11:09.33 to go give whatever they needed 00:11:09.36\00:11:10.80 and helping them with the water. 00:11:10.83\00:11:13.47 And going to get the vessels for the patients 00:11:13.50\00:11:16.37 and just any medical things they needed help with. 00:11:16.40\00:11:20.28 Was this what you expected, more than you expected, 00:11:20.31\00:11:24.05 less than you expected, different than you expected, 00:11:24.08\00:11:27.05 how was the experience, what you got into doing 00:11:27.08\00:11:28.75 what you are called to do? 00:11:28.78\00:11:30.22 It wasn't really expected when I got here, 00:11:30.25\00:11:33.22 but when I got here, I was pretty excited. 00:11:33.25\00:11:34.82 When I started seeing everything 00:11:34.86\00:11:36.39 that I wanted to do. 00:11:36.42\00:11:37.76 And so, when I saw everything, 00:11:37.79\00:11:39.13 I just started being like happy, 00:11:39.16\00:11:41.30 and everything and joyful. 00:11:41.33\00:11:42.83 And when I saw most of the patients 00:11:42.86\00:11:44.30 they were all just so like friendly, 00:11:44.33\00:11:47.50 and I got to know some other patients 00:11:47.54\00:11:49.84 and known some of their personal lives 00:11:49.87\00:11:51.77 and everything like that, yeah. 00:11:51.81\00:11:54.48 Let's talk about that just a little bit, Tiffany, 00:11:54.51\00:11:55.94 because you are interfacing with the patients, 00:11:55.98\00:11:58.75 they are talking to you, you are talking with them. 00:11:58.78\00:12:00.45 Is there any particular story that stands out in your mind, 00:12:00.48\00:12:03.45 of a particular patient that you are dealing 00:12:03.49\00:12:05.09 with yesterday? 00:12:05.12\00:12:06.79 One patient in particular, she couldn't afford 00:12:06.82\00:12:10.89 to get the medical help that she needed. 00:12:10.93\00:12:13.19 So she was praying to God asking for a way, 00:12:13.23\00:12:15.60 but the way that, she couldn't find a way 00:12:15.63\00:12:19.13 but somehow this convention center thing, 00:12:19.17\00:12:21.57 it popped up and then she heard about it 00:12:21.60\00:12:24.44 through the radio and then she came 00:12:24.47\00:12:25.84 and I guess that was a big blessing for her 00:12:25.87\00:12:27.61 because she couldn't afford it at all. 00:12:27.64\00:12:30.58 Excellent. 00:12:30.61\00:12:32.48 We've been talking about now I've been asking 00:12:32.51\00:12:34.08 in each interview about reciprocity. 00:12:34.12\00:12:36.38 Long word simply means when you give something, 00:12:36.42\00:12:38.52 you get something. 00:12:38.55\00:12:39.89 Have you found that true in your experience here, 00:12:39.92\00:12:42.52 you're giving to them 00:12:42.56\00:12:43.89 but you're also getting a blessing yourself? 00:12:43.93\00:12:45.89 I believe when giving a blessing, 00:12:45.93\00:12:49.03 I would receive one back 00:12:49.06\00:12:50.77 but I don't look at it that way. 00:12:50.80\00:12:52.50 I believe in helping people and giving them opportunity 00:12:52.53\00:12:55.94 to give what they need rather than looking 00:12:55.97\00:12:57.84 for something back. 00:12:57.87\00:13:00.28 I like that idea. 00:13:00.31\00:13:01.91 But it is true that when you give, you do get, 00:13:01.94\00:13:04.51 because God sees to it that you get. 00:13:04.55\00:13:06.11 And that's the great part of service 00:13:06.15\00:13:08.75 that when you give you to somebody else, 00:13:08.78\00:13:10.12 God gives you a little something back. 00:13:10.15\00:13:11.72 Have all of your fellow classmates 00:13:11.75\00:13:13.82 felt that same thing? 00:13:13.86\00:13:15.62 I am pretty sure they did, yeah. 00:13:15.66\00:13:18.83 What time you're getting up in the morning? 00:13:18.86\00:13:21.16 In this morning, 00:13:21.20\00:13:23.93 and got here round 9 o'clock. 00:13:23.97\00:13:25.77 Alrighty, very good. 00:13:25.80\00:13:27.14 So you've got rested today and tomorrow, 00:13:27.17\00:13:30.87 then are you leaving or you'll be here for Sabbath? 00:13:30.91\00:13:33.04 I'll be leaving tomorrow in the evening time, yeah. 00:13:33.07\00:13:36.75 If you ever get an opportunity to do this again, 00:13:36.78\00:13:38.91 would you do it again? 00:13:38.95\00:13:40.28 Most definitely, yeah. 00:13:40.32\00:13:42.15 Okay, here's that commercial part, Tiffany. 00:13:42.18\00:13:43.92 Say that someone out there 00:13:43.95\00:13:45.29 is kind of sitting on the bench, 00:13:45.32\00:13:46.65 they're saying, "Yeah, may wanna go, 00:13:46.69\00:13:49.86 I may not wanna go." 00:13:49.89\00:13:51.23 what would say as far as your experience is concerned 00:13:51.26\00:13:53.86 to convince them that they should come 00:13:53.90\00:13:55.50 and do something like this. 00:13:55.53\00:13:57.23 I think you all should just come out, 00:13:57.27\00:13:59.03 and help and support everyone. 00:13:59.07\00:14:00.74 And just come out and just do a good deed 00:14:00.77\00:14:03.07 because you always get a blessing back 00:14:03.10\00:14:04.81 when you're giving something. 00:14:04.84\00:14:06.24 And it's also good experience for your personal life 00:14:06.27\00:14:08.41 with helping others. 00:14:08.44\00:14:11.58 Tiffany, thank you very much. 00:14:11.61\00:14:13.65 God bless. Dr. Lela and Chris Lewis. 00:24:17.59\00:24:21.19 Okay. 00:24:21.22\00:24:22.56 And I didn't know all the logistics 00:24:22.59\00:24:24.69 of what was going on, and how I was gonna get here. 00:24:24.73\00:24:30.27 I thought it will probably cost a fortune 00:24:30.30\00:24:32.37 for some thing like this. 00:24:32.40\00:24:33.94 And I found out it was for free for the patients. 00:24:33.97\00:24:36.71 And that kind of blew my mind, you know, 00:24:36.74\00:24:38.77 I say how can they do something like this 00:24:38.81\00:24:41.54 and not charge, you know, again a trial of something. 00:24:41.58\00:24:45.51 Yeah, all right, so you decided in your mind 00:24:45.55\00:24:49.35 that you're actually going to come to LA from Idaho, 00:24:49.38\00:24:55.26 so how did you get here? 00:24:55.29\00:24:57.36 Well, it wasn't easy. 00:24:57.39\00:24:59.56 I checked around different ways to getting down here. 00:24:59.59\00:25:02.76 Even I consider riding a bicycle 00:25:02.80\00:25:05.23 all the way from Northern Idaho. 00:25:05.27\00:25:07.47 And my son-in-law discouraged me, he said, 00:25:07.50\00:25:11.17 "You wouldn't get down there before the program was over." 00:25:11.21\00:25:14.41 So I found that if you bought your ticket early, 00:25:14.44\00:25:18.91 I can get a discount on it. 00:25:18.95\00:25:20.72 The only problem was, I couldn't turn in 00:25:20.75\00:25:22.98 if I change my mind, I was stuck. 00:25:23.02\00:25:26.69 And so you were stuck, and you took a bus. 00:25:26.72\00:25:29.36 How long did it take for you to get the bus, the Greyhound, 00:25:29.39\00:25:32.33 to get here to LA. 00:25:32.36\00:25:33.70 About 40 hours because, we had some problems 00:25:33.73\00:25:36.46 with getting a driver at one point. 00:25:36.50\00:25:39.13 Now when you got here, you came in, 00:25:39.17\00:25:41.14 where you able to receive services that you desired? 00:25:41.17\00:25:44.51 I received more than I ever thought I would receive. 00:25:44.54\00:25:48.48 I can't believe all the wonderful things 00:25:48.51\00:25:52.51 that this people had provided for people like me, you know, 00:25:52.55\00:25:55.85 and all others just like me. 00:25:55.88\00:25:57.79 So what impressed you about what you receive 00:25:57.82\00:26:01.22 this environment when you came? 00:26:01.26\00:26:03.36 When I came, the love of Christ just flooded out. 00:26:03.39\00:26:10.07 I had a lot of volunteers, and help providers, 00:26:10.10\00:26:14.70 and almost every one of them prayed with me. 00:26:14.74\00:26:17.94 Even before and even after the service was provided. 00:26:17.97\00:26:22.61 And I've never been to a health place 00:26:22.64\00:26:26.18 where people prayed with you before and after, 00:26:26.21\00:26:30.75 even before or after, 00:26:30.79\00:26:32.52 and so it was just a really wonderful experience. 00:26:32.55\00:26:36.06 Paul, thank you so much 00:26:36.09\00:26:37.76 for sharing your experience with us. 00:26:37.79\00:26:39.66 We are happy that we were able to exceed your expectation. 00:26:39.69\00:26:43.47 Thank you all. 00:26:43.50\00:26:46.20 When you flush out that story, you must be impressed by 00:26:46.23\00:26:49.40 what God will do and the lengths 00:26:49.44\00:26:51.17 to which he will go to get the gospel 00:26:51.21\00:26:53.17 before someone who had not turned on a television set 00:26:53.21\00:26:56.38 he told me in decades. 00:26:56.41\00:26:58.38 He's not a TV watcher, does not own a television. 00:26:58.41\00:27:01.12 Has no electricity in his home there on the mountain. 00:27:01.15\00:27:05.85 And who would know, the one night 00:27:05.89\00:27:07.66 that he goes to a hotel, 00:27:07.69\00:27:10.23 turns on a remote control, 00:27:10.26\00:27:12.19 jumps to a couple of channels and watch there a 3ABN. 00:27:12.23\00:27:15.50 It was me interviewing Chris and Lela Lewis, 00:27:15.53\00:27:19.23 just what he needed to hear. 00:27:19.27\00:27:20.64 He heard what he needed to hear, 00:27:20.67\00:27:22.27 at the time he needed to hear it. 00:27:22.30\00:27:23.91 And the Lord blessed. 00:27:23.94\00:27:26.04 And I told Paul when I spoke with him 00:27:26.07\00:27:27.91 just after the meeting, 00:27:27.94\00:27:29.61 that God has brought Adventism into his life 00:27:29.64\00:27:32.08 for specific reason. 00:27:32.11\00:27:33.45 So now he must respond to the call of God on his life, 00:27:33.48\00:27:36.65 and he assured me that he would. 00:27:36.69\00:27:39.52 So how wonderful to know that love of Christ will find ways 00:27:39.55\00:27:44.83 to get the gospel of Jesus, to those who need to hear it 00:27:44.86\00:27:47.70 and who can respond. 00:27:47.73\00:27:50.03 Next is Sorren Alexander Nelson. 00:27:50.07\00:27:52.77 This is another young person from Weimar. 00:27:52.80\00:27:54.90 Weimar came in mass. 00:27:54.94\00:27:57.47 Just about the whole school came to be part 00:27:57.51\00:27:59.47 of Your Best Pathway to Health. 00:27:59.51\00:28:01.34 And Sorren was a young man, 00:28:01.38\00:28:03.24 a freshmen that we wanted to talk to. 00:28:03.28\00:28:05.18 He's got a nice way about himself, nice young man, 00:28:05.21\00:28:07.92 and we thought we'd spend a little time with him. 00:28:07.95\00:28:10.29 This is my interview with Sorren Nelson, 00:28:10.32\00:28:12.95 Sorren Alexander Nelson. 00:28:12.99\00:28:16.96 I'm here with Sorren Alexander Nelson, 00:28:16.99\00:28:19.86 who he stopped in his travels. 00:28:19.89\00:28:21.60 He is a student at Weimar Academy. 00:28:21.63\00:28:23.67 We want to give equal time to Weimar. 00:28:23.70\00:28:26.43 And you see that Weimar jetting back and forth, 00:28:26.47\00:28:29.40 they're moving around doing so much work. 00:28:29.44\00:28:31.01 Sorren, first of all tell us how old you are? 00:38:58.63\00:39:02.34 Were you angry at yourself? 00:39:02.37\00:39:03.77 What was going on in your head 00:39:03.81\00:39:05.14 during eight months of bed rest? 00:39:05.17\00:39:07.81 Well, I was depressed. 00:39:07.84\00:39:09.18 And I think a lot of it had to do 00:39:09.21\00:39:10.65 with the pain that I was in 00:39:10.68\00:39:12.05 'cause I was in a lot of physical pain, 00:39:12.08\00:39:13.62 but I refused to take drugs, 00:39:13.65\00:39:15.88 because being a mental health nurse, 00:39:15.92\00:39:18.35 I've decided, you know, 00:39:18.39\00:39:19.72 I've seen too many people addicted. 00:39:19.75\00:39:21.86 The first doctor that I went to 00:39:21.89\00:39:23.43 wanted to give me norco and oxy, 00:39:23.46\00:39:25.53 and all kinds of stuff and I was like, man, 00:39:25.56\00:39:28.60 if he had done this a few months ago, 00:39:28.63\00:39:30.23 maybe I would have, I don't know, 00:39:30.27\00:39:31.73 I don't think so, but, you know, 00:39:31.77\00:39:33.60 who knows but at that point I didn't. 00:39:33.64\00:39:36.14 I didn't want to do that. 00:39:36.17\00:39:37.51 So I was in a lot of pain. 00:39:37.54\00:39:39.37 And lot of sleepless nights, even being a night shift nurse, 00:39:39.41\00:39:43.51 it got to the point where I could nap 00:39:43.55\00:39:45.61 a couple hours during the day, but then I was up. 00:39:45.65\00:39:48.65 And I'm telling you tormented. 00:39:48.68\00:39:51.75 And it was during one of those long nights, 00:39:51.79\00:39:54.52 the only friend I had was a TV. 00:39:54.56\00:39:56.96 And I had watched everything on Netflix 00:39:56.99\00:39:59.73 and everything else they had. 00:39:59.76\00:40:01.26 And one night I flipped it and I'm telling you, 00:40:01.30\00:40:04.50 I tuned that TV on and it flipped to 3ABN. 00:40:04.53\00:40:07.44 Now that was a God thing, 00:40:07.47\00:40:09.54 because I was not watching that channel. 00:40:09.57\00:40:12.24 Not at that time even, he didn't even, 00:40:12.27\00:40:14.14 I wasn't even to that point yet. 00:40:14.18\00:40:15.98 But that night I remember and the first thing 00:40:16.01\00:40:18.35 that snapped on, it was Danny Shelton and you. 00:40:18.38\00:40:21.82 And you were talking about, "You can never do anything 00:40:21.85\00:40:25.55 where you can't come back to God, 00:40:25.59\00:40:27.49 nothing's so bad that you can't come back to him." 00:40:27.52\00:40:30.83 And I suspect 20 years out, 00:40:30.86\00:40:33.23 that was the message that you needed at that time. 00:40:33.26\00:40:35.53 Yes. 00:40:35.56\00:40:36.90 And the next one was Pastor Bar, Stephen Bar, 00:40:36.93\00:40:41.54 talking about the unpardonable sin. 00:40:41.57\00:40:45.31 That was the next one I wanted to hear. 00:40:45.34\00:40:47.48 And it went on from there, because I watched everything 00:40:47.51\00:40:50.05 David Asscherick did, everything Ty Gibson did, 00:40:50.08\00:40:55.12 I mean, I could not get off that channel. 00:40:55.15\00:40:57.32 Wow. 00:40:57.35\00:40:58.69 And still now, I don't have regular TV. 00:40:58.72\00:41:00.79 I have my Roku box and my Adventist channels. 00:41:00.82\00:41:04.09 So I've gone totally the other way, you know. 00:41:04.13\00:41:06.86 Praise the Lord. 00:41:06.90\00:41:08.23 Isn't it interesting that God gives you 00:41:08.26\00:41:11.17 what you need at the time you needed. 00:41:11.20\00:41:13.94 You didn't need you're gonna burn in hell kind of message. 00:41:13.97\00:41:16.40 You didn't need bad, bad, bad kind of message. 00:41:16.44\00:41:18.84 You needed someone to tell you, Hey, God loves you still, 00:41:18.87\00:41:22.38 you can't go too far, you can't run too fast, 00:41:22.41\00:41:25.01 and that's precisely what God gave you. 00:41:25.05\00:41:26.88 Yes. 00:41:26.92\00:41:28.25 And, you know, it's kind of like, 00:41:28.28\00:41:29.62 like you said in your sermons that I always use 00:41:29.65\00:41:33.82 with my patients, it's like, you know, we all got stuff. 00:41:33.86\00:41:36.96 And, you know, Lord just says surrender that stuff. 00:41:36.99\00:41:38.96 Yes. 00:41:38.99\00:41:40.50 And we keep on to hold on to it. 00:41:40.53\00:41:42.20 And I used to keep giving him the stuff. 00:41:42.23\00:41:44.47 He put his basket down and I put it all in, 00:41:44.50\00:41:47.00 he take it and I'd say, "Oh, but wait a minute." 00:41:47.04\00:41:49.20 And I take one thing out at a time, 00:41:49.24\00:41:51.47 but finally when I surrendered it all 00:41:51.51\00:41:53.78 and still I struggle with that. 00:41:53.81\00:41:55.94 But when I finally surrendered it all, he says, 00:41:55.98\00:41:58.85 "Now I can do the work." Amen. 00:41:58.88\00:42:01.48 Now you told me the Lord kind of played a little, 00:42:01.52\00:42:03.28 I'll say game with you, 00:42:03.32\00:42:04.65 'cause He wouldn't let you go past 3ABN, 00:42:04.69\00:42:06.69 He kind of stuck you there, didn't He? 00:42:06.72\00:42:08.06 He did. 00:42:08.09\00:42:09.42 I could not, I could not go past that and I'm telling you, 00:42:09.46\00:42:14.06 I got so immersed into it. 00:42:14.10\00:42:15.80 I was handwriting recipes from Micheff Sisters. 00:42:15.83\00:42:19.33 I mean everything that I could get a hold up on 3ABN, 00:42:19.37\00:42:23.97 I was sucking up. 00:42:24.01\00:42:25.34 And I still have notes and journals from your sermons, 00:42:25.37\00:42:29.71 from Danny's messages 00:42:29.74\00:42:31.55 and interviews and Cheri Peters. 00:42:31.58\00:42:34.12 I mean, you guys were all part of my recovering from sin 00:42:34.15\00:42:38.15 and coming back. 00:42:38.19\00:42:39.55 And I think we need to do a 12 step program for sinners, 00:42:39.59\00:42:43.36 'cause wouldn't that be good, we can go into the church 00:42:43.39\00:42:45.43 and we could say stand up and say, "Hi, 00:42:45.46\00:42:48.46 my name is Debby and I am a sinner." 00:42:48.50\00:42:49.83 Wow. 00:42:49.86\00:42:51.20 And then just recover from there, right? 00:42:51.23\00:42:52.80 Yeah. Praise the Lord, wonderful. 00:42:52.83\00:42:54.80 Now, give us a little of clue into what you are doing here, 00:42:54.84\00:42:57.41 you're in the mental health section. 00:42:57.44\00:42:58.81 You've got on your green, 00:42:58.84\00:43:00.18 so that means you're mental health girl, 00:43:00.21\00:43:01.78 so what are you doing here? 00:43:01.84\00:43:03.18 Okay, so what I'm doing is after the patients 00:43:03.21\00:43:05.81 have been completely triaged, they may have gone through 00:43:05.85\00:43:11.55 the main triage here to determine 00:43:11.59\00:43:13.49 what needs they have. 00:43:13.52\00:43:15.02 And they've already seen the psychologist, or therapist, 00:43:15.06\00:43:18.63 or psychiatrist. 00:43:18.66\00:43:20.00 They've already done the testing 00:43:20.03\00:43:21.66 maybe for depression recovery. 00:43:21.70\00:43:23.87 Then they come to me if they are looking for local, 00:43:23.90\00:43:28.90 no charge clinics, mental health clinics 00:43:28.94\00:43:31.17 to keep up with their care. 00:43:31.21\00:43:33.68 Groups, housing, food, shelter, 00:43:33.71\00:43:38.21 those kinds of things. 00:43:38.25\00:43:39.58 We try to connect them with a local church 00:43:39.61\00:43:41.78 if we possibly can. 00:43:41.82\00:43:44.15 Any kind of that, any type of resources 00:43:44.19\00:43:46.92 and then we always ask them 00:43:46.96\00:43:49.49 if they're getting any other services here, 00:43:49.52\00:43:52.29 because we have other services besides the medical 00:43:52.33\00:43:54.96 and a dental and a vision. 00:43:55.00\00:43:57.43 And I always ask the women, did you get a massage today? 00:43:57.47\00:44:00.57 Did you get a mani-pedis 'cause they've got it. 00:44:00.60\00:44:02.84 What about your hair? 00:44:02.87\00:44:04.21 You know, because they're usually the ones 00:44:04.24\00:44:06.24 that are coming through and they're feeling 00:44:06.27\00:44:08.68 like they haven't had that love, you know, 00:44:08.71\00:44:11.65 and something else that we always try to do 00:44:11.68\00:44:14.95 is have prayer with them. 00:44:14.98\00:44:16.42 Excellent. 00:44:16.45\00:44:17.79 You know, and I always ask, I said, 00:44:17.82\00:44:19.62 "Do you mind if I pray for you." 00:44:19.65\00:44:23.22 And they, "Oh, no." 00:44:23.26\00:44:24.99 you'd be surprised. 00:44:25.03\00:44:26.36 They just want to be loved. 00:44:26.39\00:44:28.50 Some of these psych patients have not been loved on 00:44:28.53\00:44:31.57 for a decade or more many decades, not even touch. 00:44:31.60\00:44:35.17 That's what I wanted to talk you about 00:44:35.20\00:44:36.54 because I've been talking with other people here 00:44:36.57\00:44:38.97 and saying that the smile, 00:44:39.01\00:44:41.58 the hug, the pat on the back is important 00:44:41.61\00:44:45.01 as the medical treatment 00:44:45.05\00:44:46.58 because of the mental state that people come. 00:44:46.61\00:44:48.58 Now as we all know mental health 00:44:48.62\00:44:50.45 has this kind of little aura, 00:44:50.49\00:44:52.15 this little treatment and one of the things 00:44:52.19\00:44:54.52 I see from you is a Godly Spirit. 00:44:54.56\00:44:56.86 And I think that is as important 00:44:56.89\00:44:58.89 to the treatment as the practical part 00:44:58.93\00:45:02.83 of during recovery, do you not think so? 00:45:02.86\00:45:05.27 Well, absolutely, I mean, you know, 00:45:05.30\00:45:06.94 I guess it goes back to my training as a child. 00:45:06.97\00:45:09.80 And at Loma Linda that it's mind, body and spirit, 00:45:09.84\00:45:13.68 is it not? 00:45:13.71\00:45:15.14 And if we take, we know that 00:45:15.18\00:45:16.58 all illnesses start in the mind. 00:45:16.61\00:45:18.18 Yeah. Yeah. 00:45:18.21\00:45:19.55 So if we could get the mind healthy, 00:45:19.58\00:45:21.38 we probably wouldn't have the comorbidities 00:45:21.42\00:45:23.52 of hypertension and diabetes, and the rest of it, right? 00:45:23.55\00:45:27.19 I mean we really wouldn't. 00:45:27.22\00:45:29.06 But, yes, absolutely. 00:45:29.09\00:45:30.99 And just really loving on these people, you know, 00:45:31.03\00:45:35.20 even if you just you say, "Hi, how are you? 00:45:35.23\00:45:37.80 My name is Debbi." 00:45:37.83\00:45:39.17 I always make sure that I shake their hand, 00:45:39.20\00:45:41.10 when they come in, 00:45:41.14\00:45:42.47 because like I said for decades, 00:45:42.50\00:45:44.84 these people may have never had anybody touch them, 00:45:44.87\00:45:48.01 you know, so. 00:45:48.04\00:45:49.61 Debbi, thank you so very much. 00:45:49.64\00:45:51.21 Thank you so very much for the story. 00:45:51.25\00:45:53.21 And we are so pleased that 3ABN 00:45:53.25\00:45:55.25 played a part in your recovery, 00:45:55.28\00:45:57.45 and you are coming back to the Lord. 00:45:57.49\00:45:58.82 And you're doing a great work here, 00:45:58.85\00:46:00.19 and keep that smile and that beautiful spirit. 00:46:00.22\00:46:02.02 I certainly will. 00:46:02.06\00:46:03.39 Thank you and so very nice to meet you, 00:46:03.43\00:46:06.56 'cause you were part of it. 00:46:06.59\00:46:08.10 Praise the Lord. Thank you. 00:46:08.13\00:46:12.13 Again, so nice to know that when you're flat on your back 00:46:12.17\00:46:14.60 and you're gonna only look up, 00:46:14.64\00:46:16.20 you could look into the face of God. 00:46:16.24\00:46:17.57 And then God provides you with something 00:46:17.61\00:46:19.47 that will bring you back to Him. 00:46:19.51\00:46:22.61 One of the things that we've found that the various 00:46:22.64\00:46:25.48 in Your Best Pathways to Health clinics and seminars, 00:46:25.51\00:46:30.15 is that lives that are touched physically of times 00:46:30.19\00:46:35.36 have mental ramifications that are positive 00:46:35.39\00:46:38.89 which opens the door for the entrance of the gospel, 00:46:38.93\00:46:42.16 and spiritual things and we see that continuum 00:46:42.20\00:46:45.47 happening over and over again. 00:46:45.50\00:46:49.50 I'm told that there were some 1500 or so surgeries 00:46:49.54\00:46:52.54 that took place during the course of this 00:46:52.57\00:46:54.94 Your Best Pathway to Health, Los Angeles, 00:46:54.98\00:46:57.15 White Memorial Hospital, 00:46:57.18\00:46:58.51 Loma Linda Hospital, Glendale Adventist Hospital. 00:46:58.55\00:47:01.48 Doctors representing those institutions 00:47:01.52\00:47:03.49 are our good friend Schubert Palmer 00:47:03.52\00:47:05.12 and other doctors were doing surgeries 00:47:05.15\00:47:07.02 there and giving medical advice 00:47:07.06\00:47:09.46 along with the other various services, 00:47:09.49\00:47:11.63 but there are some people 00:47:11.66\00:47:12.99 who came in with chronic expressions of illness 00:47:13.03\00:47:17.97 that really had dogged their lives. 00:47:18.00\00:47:19.93 There was young man who we don't have time 00:47:19.97\00:47:21.30 to show on this one, 00:47:21.34\00:47:22.67 who had large keloids on his ears to the point 00:47:22.70\00:47:25.34 that he always wore a Hil hoody, 00:47:25.37\00:47:26.81 he always had his ears covered 'cause of this big growth on 00:47:26.84\00:47:29.54 his ears and those growths were taken off, 00:47:29.58\00:47:31.98 he could not afford to have that done. 00:47:32.01\00:47:33.62 And he had always shied away from health and wellness 00:47:33.65\00:47:37.49 and certainly Christians, 00:47:37.52\00:47:39.05 because he couldn't afford that. 00:47:39.09\00:47:40.42 And he found Christians to be judgmental. 00:47:40.46\00:47:41.92 Well, when he came to Your Best Pathway, 00:47:41.96\00:47:44.13 he was prayed with, he was helped, 00:47:44.16\00:47:45.93 he was encouraged 00:47:45.96\00:47:47.30 and he had those keloids taken off. 00:47:47.33\00:47:48.66 His life has been changed, 00:47:48.70\00:47:50.03 and now he is open to the entrance of the gospel. 00:47:50.07\00:47:52.33 Our next video is Carolina Herrera, 00:47:52.37\00:47:58.21 again a lovely young woman who had some grows on her neck 00:47:58.24\00:48:02.84 and her chest that were disfiguring, 00:48:02.88\00:48:05.75 that embarrassed her, 00:48:05.78\00:48:07.12 that she had to have her whole life 00:48:07.15\00:48:09.08 she was dealing with these things. 00:48:09.12\00:48:10.45 Well, she came to Your Best Pathway to Health, 00:48:10.49\00:48:12.32 and these things were taken care of 00:48:12.35\00:48:13.96 and when you see the joy on her face 00:48:13.99\00:48:16.12 and the tears in her eyes, 00:48:16.16\00:48:17.89 you know that God has done something very, 00:48:17.93\00:48:19.63 very special for her. 00:48:19.66\00:48:21.00 Well, her physical life has been changed, 00:48:21.03\00:48:23.16 her mental outlook is changed 00:48:23.20\00:48:24.97 and now she is open to the entrance of the gospel. 00:48:25.00\00:48:28.17 And that ladies and gentlemen, is what it is all about. 00:48:28.20\00:48:31.81 We will watch this video, then we go to our newsbreak, 00:48:31.84\00:48:34.84 then we'll come back, 00:48:34.88\00:48:36.21 and put a little bow on this 00:48:36.24\00:48:37.58 and wrap up this particular broadcast. 00:48:37.61\00:48:42.55 Carolina came to us I think, I don't know, 00:48:42.58\00:48:46.42 if she was referred by another physician 00:48:46.45\00:48:47.99 or she came to the door asking for dermatology. 00:48:48.02\00:48:50.56 We are actually having laser services 00:48:50.59\00:48:53.29 on this pathway to health registrar, 00:48:53.33\00:48:55.90 she was sent there. 00:48:55.93\00:48:57.27 I wasn't sure that there is hope for her 00:48:57.30\00:48:59.23 to really get anything done. 00:48:59.27\00:49:00.80 But you know Dr. Prodonovic has seen many patients, 00:49:00.84\00:49:04.07 he's done a lot of derm. 00:49:04.11\00:49:05.97 Take tattoo removal along the way, 00:49:06.01\00:49:08.08 he's seen a lot of skin problems and issues 00:49:08.11\00:49:09.91 for 20 years. 00:49:09.94\00:49:11.28 So I felt like "Hey, there's something 00:49:11.31\00:49:14.02 that can happen with this case." 00:49:14.05\00:49:15.85 I thought I can really handle some of it 00:49:15.88\00:49:18.32 but most of that needed be surgically treated. 00:49:18.35\00:49:22.62 So I referred her back to dermatology 00:49:22.66\00:49:26.49 or plastic surgery. 00:49:26.53\00:49:27.93 She had very, very thick lesions 00:49:27.96\00:49:30.77 that were kind of sticking out. 00:49:30.80\00:49:32.13 And this basically what we call epidermis, 00:49:32.17\00:49:34.00 this is kind of like a congenital hormone birthmark, 00:49:34.04\00:49:37.44 but they come in different shapes, sizes, colors 00:49:37.47\00:49:40.18 and her is pretty much encompass 00:49:40.21\00:49:42.21 at the back of her neck, 00:49:42.24\00:49:43.58 the front and coming down to her chest. 00:49:43.61\00:49:46.75 Since I was born I had it. 00:49:46.78\00:49:48.52 When I was born my mom saw it, she was devastated. 00:49:48.55\00:49:54.02 She couldn't find a way to take it off, you know, 00:49:54.06\00:49:57.39 I heard this on the radio 00:49:57.43\00:49:59.29 that they were having the convention. 00:49:59.33\00:50:01.83 It was just the fact 00:50:01.86\00:50:04.03 that you could do something about it, 00:50:04.07\00:50:07.00 try to take it off, you know, that's what brought me herein. 00:50:07.04\00:50:10.27 You just have to step by step, you know, 00:50:16.14\00:50:18.98 slowly just kind of remove each and every one of it. 00:50:19.01\00:50:21.58 So we get really down to the base of it 00:50:21.62\00:50:23.28 and then in conjunction with laser 00:50:23.32\00:50:25.42 and other modalities, 00:50:25.45\00:50:26.79 we can be able to kind of clear it almost to 100 percent. 00:50:26.82\00:50:30.93 I mean she totally by coincidence 00:50:30.96\00:50:34.06 she turn on the radio, 00:50:34.10\00:50:35.43 she heard about it this morning, 00:50:35.46\00:50:37.27 she got to work, her boss wasn't even there. 00:50:37.30\00:50:40.67 I can never say no to that woman, 00:50:40.70\00:50:42.57 like I can never tell you, you know, what, 00:50:42.60\00:50:44.14 I'm just not gonna come, and never give her an excuse. 00:50:44.17\00:50:47.74 She wasn't there and I was like "Oh, my God, 00:50:47.78\00:50:49.21 well, that makes it easier," 00:50:49.24\00:50:50.58 you know, like I'm just gonna go. 00:50:50.61\00:50:52.88 Like checked in for 10 minutes, checked out. 00:50:52.91\00:50:55.38 Drove all the way from San Bernardino 00:50:55.42\00:50:56.92 which is around Loma Linda area to here in traffic 00:50:56.95\00:51:00.06 to make here to see what can be done, 00:51:00.09\00:51:02.16 and thus after, you know, 20 plus years of having them. 00:51:02.19\00:51:05.26 I never thought like this morning 00:51:10.27\00:51:11.83 when I put on my shoes, I was gonna come and, you know, 00:51:11.87\00:51:15.60 like my life has just completely went 360, 00:51:15.64\00:51:18.77 like it's overwhelming, you know, 00:51:18.81\00:51:22.38 like where other people take for granted 00:51:22.41\00:51:26.05 and, you know, it's like I'm going to have it, 00:51:26.08\00:51:28.18 now, I have a new life. 00:51:28.22\00:51:29.72 And just I'm really grateful 00:51:29.75\00:51:31.69 how everything just fell in order. 00:51:31.72\00:51:33.99 It's just the-- 00:51:34.02\00:51:35.36 to see the impact it had on her emotionally for so long, 00:51:35.39\00:51:38.69 I mean it's all coming out right now. 00:51:38.73\00:51:40.63 Everybody told me, you know, you don't have hope 00:51:40.66\00:51:42.80 like we can't help you, you know, 00:51:51.11\00:51:53.88 they're really nice. 00:51:53.91\00:51:55.24 They are really nice. 00:51:55.28\00:51:57.15 To be able to offer the services, 00:51:57.18\00:51:58.55 to be able to in additionally pray with the patients. 00:51:58.58\00:52:02.58 And, you know, I don't know what better work there is. 00:52:02.62\00:52:06.79 Thank you.
