And indeed it will be. 00:01:53.51\00:01:54.84 I have two eminently qualified persons 00:01:54.88\00:01:57.55 to discuss this with me today. 00:01:57.58\00:01:59.85 And I say that not because they carry so many degrees 00:01:59.88\00:02:03.02 and that's not what's important is that 00:02:03.05\00:02:04.99 they spent their lives studying the word of God. 00:02:05.02\00:02:07.36 And degrees are unnecessary, unimportant, and unimpressive 00:02:07.39\00:02:11.29 when you're studying the word of God 00:02:11.33\00:02:12.66 because the Bible is as simple or as complex 00:02:12.69\00:02:15.20 as you wish it to be. 00:02:15.23\00:02:16.56 It is as simple as the most unlearn person 00:02:16.60\00:02:19.47 who can just barely read and write 00:02:19.50\00:02:20.84 can find gold there. 00:02:20.87\00:02:22.20 And the double PhD or the Double Doctorate 00:02:22.24\00:02:24.91 can find gold there because it grows with you. 00:02:24.94\00:02:27.48 And if your heart is right, and if your mind is right, 00:02:27.51\00:02:30.05 and if your soul is right, 00:02:30.08\00:02:31.45 when you open the word of God, 00:02:31.48\00:02:32.81 God has guaranteed 00:02:32.85\00:02:34.18 that you will find truth for this present time. 00:02:34.22\00:02:36.92 So I say that to introduce the lady, Shelley Quinn. 00:02:36.95\00:02:39.85 Lovely to be here as always. 00:02:39.89\00:02:41.42 And, Pastor Kenny Shelton. 00:02:41.46\00:02:43.49 Thank you, good to be here. 00:02:43.53\00:02:44.86 And two good students of the word, 00:02:44.89\00:02:46.23 and two people that I personally like 00:02:46.26\00:02:47.80 very, very much, 00:02:47.83\00:02:49.16 who are fun people, fun to be with, 00:02:49.20\00:02:51.13 love God, love the word of God 00:02:51.17\00:02:53.13 and are students of the word of God. 00:02:53.17\00:02:55.50 So grab your Bible now 00:02:55.54\00:02:56.87 because today our subject is going to be 00:02:56.91\00:02:58.94 what the theologians call Christology, 00:02:58.97\00:03:01.28 the word about Christ, the doctrine of Christ. 00:03:01.31\00:03:04.71 What is Christ all about? 00:03:04.75\00:03:06.38 And as we move into this, 00:03:06.41\00:03:07.75 I know just last night I just put pen down. 00:03:07.78\00:03:10.49 Obviously, we will not be able to exhaust this subject, 00:03:10.52\00:03:13.86 we will admit that from the very beginning, 00:03:13.89\00:03:16.52 we won't even come close-- 00:03:16.56\00:03:18.19 And so I wrote down a couple of ways 00:03:18.23\00:03:20.20 that we could attack this thing. 00:03:20.23\00:03:21.56 And maybe we could do a bit of them all. 00:03:21.60\00:03:23.16 We could talk about what Isaiah had to say. 00:03:23.20\00:03:25.13 Just, just the prophecies concerning Christ, 00:03:25.17\00:03:27.40 the kind of servant Christ would be. 00:03:27.44\00:03:29.87 Life of Christ, from Luke 2:52 on here, 00:03:29.90\00:03:32.94 "He grew in wisdom, strength and in favor with God and man." 00:03:32.97\00:03:35.64 We talk ministry of Christ, 00:03:35.68\00:03:37.21 just a three and half years of the ministry of Christ. 00:03:37.25\00:03:40.08 We could talk about the time before miracles of Christ, 00:03:40.12\00:03:44.22 parables of Christ, the sacrifice of Christ, 00:03:44.25\00:03:45.79 the atonement of Christ. 00:03:45.82\00:03:47.16 Christ on a cross, Christ after cross. 00:03:47.19\00:03:48.96 Pre 1844, post 1844, relationship to the father, 00:03:48.99\00:03:53.23 then the thing that has really stumped 00:03:53.26\00:03:55.76 and that theologians have wrestled with 00:03:55.80\00:03:57.57 for the past 2000 years, the nature of Christ. 00:03:57.60\00:03:59.57 Yes. 00:03:59.60\00:04:00.94 We could talk about that from now on, 00:04:00.97\00:04:02.77 because they've been dealing with that for 2000 years, 00:04:02.80\00:04:04.64 then the personality of Christ. 00:04:04.67\00:04:06.47 Then the relationship between God the Father, 00:04:06.51\00:04:08.31 God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. 00:04:08.34\00:04:10.15 So, there are so many ways, 00:04:10.18\00:04:11.95 so many things that you could talk about. 00:04:11.98\00:04:14.12 We could take a good dozen or so programs 00:04:14.15\00:04:16.42 and still not exhaust that doctrine of Christ. 00:04:16.45\00:04:19.35 But we want to sort of tackle that today 00:04:19.39\00:04:20.72 because that is something 00:04:20.76\00:04:22.09 that is close to our hearts and close to us all. 00:04:22.12\00:04:25.06 And so though we prayed before our program, 00:04:25.09\00:04:28.30 I think I will pray now, 00:04:28.33\00:04:29.66 as we sort of enter into our subject 00:04:29.70\00:04:31.43 because of the weightiness of the subject. 00:04:31.47\00:04:34.37 And the importance of the subject. 00:04:34.40\00:04:36.30 And I'm gonna ask Shelley Quinn, 00:04:36.34\00:04:37.67 if you would now pray for us, Shelly, 00:04:37.71\00:04:39.04 please at this point. 00:04:39.07\00:04:40.41 Sure. I'd like to. 00:04:40.44\00:04:41.78 Our loving heavenly Father, 00:04:41.81\00:04:43.14 we come once again in the name of Jesus. 00:04:43.18\00:04:44.51 And father, our prayer is that now as we look 00:04:44.55\00:04:48.52 at Jesus Christ, your only begotten son, 00:04:48.55\00:04:52.59 that you would Lord guide 00:04:52.62\00:04:55.56 by the power of your Holy Spirit, guide our minds. 00:04:55.59\00:04:59.06 We pray that you will, Lord, just touch every ear 00:04:59.09\00:05:03.63 that is listening to this program. 00:05:03.67\00:05:06.74 And we pray in the name of Jesus, Father 00:05:06.77\00:05:08.70 that you will give usurious to hear 00:05:08.74\00:05:10.51 what the Holy Spirit would have to say. 00:05:10.54\00:05:13.64 Lord may every word that we say lift Christ high 00:05:13.68\00:05:18.38 that He may draw all men into himself. 00:05:18.41\00:05:21.32 Thank you, Father for this opportunity, 00:05:21.35\00:05:23.55 thank You, Lord for all who have joined us. 00:05:23.59\00:05:26.86 We pray a special blessing on their lives today, 00:05:26.89\00:05:29.62 and we ask these things thanking You for the answer 00:05:29.66\00:05:32.49 to the prayer of faith, in Jesus name. 00:05:32.53\00:05:35.00 Amen. Amen. 00:05:35.03\00:05:36.36 Amen. 00:05:36.40\00:05:37.73 You know, Pastor Kenny and Shelley, 00:05:37.77\00:05:39.83 when the Adventist Church was in its infancy, 00:05:39.87\00:05:43.17 some of the church fathers rejected the idea of Trinity. 00:05:43.20\00:05:46.31 They didn't understand it. 00:05:48.21\00:05:49.54 They thought it was something 00:05:49.58\00:05:50.91 that was a carryover from Catholicism 00:05:50.95\00:05:52.35 and was rejected. 00:05:52.38\00:05:53.72 They knew who God the Father was. 00:05:53.75\00:05:55.98 They knew who God the Son was. 00:05:56.02\00:05:57.39 They knew the Holy Spirit. 00:05:57.42\00:05:58.75 But linking them together as Trinity, 00:05:58.79\00:06:02.36 they thought it was something that shouldn't be. 00:06:02.39\00:06:04.33 And of course, we grew 00:06:04.36\00:06:05.69 and we came into an understanding of three 00:06:05.73\00:06:07.73 co-equal personalities, persons. 00:06:07.76\00:06:12.23 Though the Bible doesn't say, 00:06:12.27\00:06:13.60 Trinity per se, that's what it is. 00:06:13.64\00:06:15.74 De facto 00:06:15.77\00:06:17.44 and the biggest question that has wrestled 00:06:17.47\00:06:20.64 or that Christians have wrestled 00:06:20.68\00:06:22.04 with down through the ages is... 00:06:22.08\00:06:23.41 Was Christ God? 00:06:24.48\00:06:26.05 Is Christ God? 00:06:26.08\00:06:27.62 Is He a little lesser than God? 00:06:27.65\00:06:29.28 Is there a time when He was not? 00:06:29.32\00:06:30.99 Is He coexistent? 00:06:31.02\00:06:32.35 Is He coeternal? 00:06:32.39\00:06:33.72 And that is one aspect and then of course, 00:06:33.76\00:06:38.13 there is the aspect of what He did for us. 00:06:38.16\00:06:39.89 There is so much to talk about. 00:06:39.93\00:06:41.26 Oh, wow. 00:06:41.30\00:06:42.63 So, Shelley I think I'll just let you sort of way in 00:06:42.66\00:06:45.10 and will comment on what you have, 00:06:45.13\00:06:48.17 I want to dug up some of my old school papers, 00:06:48.20\00:06:49.97 and some stuff that I've written 00:06:50.01\00:06:51.34 over the years and my old Bible studies. 00:06:51.37\00:06:53.11 There is so much and I see you got, 00:06:53.14\00:06:54.48 you're armed also. 00:06:54.51\00:06:55.84 There is so much on this subject 00:06:55.88\00:06:57.35 but, Shelley, you begin if you will. 00:06:57.38\00:06:59.88 I think that... 00:06:59.91\00:07:01.52 The first thing that we have to recognize 00:07:01.55\00:07:03.05 is that many major religions recognize Christ as a prophet. 00:07:03.08\00:07:09.96 Whereas they do not say, 00:07:09.99\00:07:11.43 the Jews, the Muslims do not recognize Him 00:07:11.46\00:07:14.00 as the Son of God. 00:07:14.03\00:07:15.76 And for me the starting point, 00:07:15.80\00:07:18.03 if we're going to be talking about 00:07:18.07\00:07:19.73 the only begotten Son of God is Deuteronomy 6:4. 00:07:19.77\00:07:23.61 So let me just, just let me read that. 00:07:23.64\00:07:25.34 Shema. 00:07:25.37\00:07:26.71 In Deuteronomy 6:4, 00:07:26.74\00:07:29.24 this is what the scripture says, 00:07:29.28\00:07:31.41 "Hear, O Israel: 00:07:31.45\00:07:32.78 The Lord our God, the Lord is one." 00:07:32.81\00:07:37.42 Now, in the Hebrew, the translation of this is 00:07:37.45\00:07:41.49 Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is echad. 00:07:41.52\00:07:47.16 Now that means Jehovah, our self existent 00:07:47.20\00:07:50.53 all powerful God, creator is plural but one. 00:07:50.57\00:07:55.40 So let's just look at this, 00:07:55.44\00:07:57.27 Yahweh in and that of course is the tetragrammaton, 00:07:57.31\00:08:01.58 that the-- Isn't that a large word? 00:08:01.61\00:08:04.05 To me, it just means a four letter word. 00:08:04.08\00:08:05.41 Four letter word. 00:08:05.45\00:08:06.78 Tetragrammaton. 00:08:06.82\00:08:08.15 That's a huge word. 00:08:08.18\00:08:09.52 But of course, the Jews use without the vowels, 00:08:09.55\00:08:14.19 they do have Y.H.W.H. 00:08:14.22\00:08:16.32 which is Jehovah in English. 00:08:16.36\00:08:18.46 And this is the name that God announced 00:08:18.49\00:08:23.23 to Moses at the burning bush. 00:08:23.26\00:08:26.17 "I'm Yahweh." 00:08:26.20\00:08:28.40 It is also the name that is used in Genesis 1. 00:08:28.44\00:08:33.14 The 1:1 when Jesus, when God said, 00:08:33.17\00:08:36.04 "I am, " or it was Elohim, excuse me 00:08:38.35\00:08:41.32 I'm, "I'm ahead of myself." 00:08:41.35\00:08:43.55 So Yahweh means I am. 00:08:43.59\00:08:45.42 It's the one who is the self existent one. 00:08:45.45\00:08:48.76 Now, Elohim means 00:08:48.79\00:08:51.53 the all-powerful creator and sustainer, 00:08:51.56\00:08:54.46 Elohim is a plural masculine noun. 00:08:54.50\00:08:59.27 Very true. 00:08:59.30\00:09:00.64 So in the very first scripture of the Bible, 00:09:00.67\00:09:06.34 the inspired word Genesis 1:1. 00:09:06.37\00:09:08.91 When it says, "In the beginning, 00:09:08.94\00:09:10.98 it was in the beginning Elohim created," 00:09:11.01\00:09:15.12 this plural masculine noun. 00:09:15.15\00:09:18.65 So, these words show us 00:09:18.69\00:09:20.56 that there is the presence of only one God. 00:09:20.59\00:09:24.23 But that our all-powerful creator 00:09:24.26\00:09:26.49 is composed of more than one unit. 00:09:26.53\00:09:29.23 Because it goes on to say 00:09:29.26\00:09:31.13 that Yahweh, our Elohim is echad, 00:09:31.17\00:09:35.17 and echad is the definition of a union of several components 00:09:35.20\00:09:40.71 into a single component. 00:09:40.74\00:09:43.04 So, from the very beginning of the Bible, 00:09:43.08\00:09:46.45 and here when it is saying "The Lord is one," 00:09:46.48\00:09:49.85 what the Bible is telling us 00:09:49.88\00:09:52.39 is that God the Father, the Son, and the Spirit 00:09:52.42\00:09:58.09 are one in purpose, thought and action. 00:09:58.13\00:10:01.56 Yes. 00:10:01.60\00:10:02.93 That they are united to the point 00:10:02.96\00:10:07.44 that there is absolutely no room for a separate plan. 00:10:07.47\00:10:11.07 Yeah. 00:10:11.11\00:10:12.44 And that's, that's, that's and that's countenance 00:10:12.47\00:10:14.48 in the word echad, this idea of, 00:10:14.51\00:10:17.15 of a several being brought together into a one. 00:10:17.18\00:10:20.32 Yes. 00:10:20.35\00:10:21.68 And our minds are so much in the same place, 00:10:21.72\00:10:23.79 "Bereshit Elohim bara," 00:10:23.82\00:10:25.35 the very first was it "Bereshit bara Elohim." 00:10:25.39\00:10:27.59 I always get those two mixed. 00:10:27.62\00:10:28.96 I think it's "Bereshit Elohim bara," 00:10:28.99\00:10:30.63 in the beginning God. 00:10:30.66\00:10:31.99 And of course, that Elohim is a plural term 00:10:32.03\00:10:33.96 that "IM" is the "S" is the plural term. 00:10:34.00\00:10:36.53 So, we're thinking the same and it's, you know, 00:10:36.56\00:10:38.73 we're going into a place where after a while, 00:10:38.77\00:10:41.60 you will scratch your head and say, 00:10:41.64\00:10:42.97 "Lord, I give up and just accept it." 00:10:43.00\00:10:44.57 Because there's only so much a human mind can understand 00:10:44.61\00:10:47.11 how you get three out of one, one in three. 00:10:47.14\00:10:49.18 How do you get these three 00:10:49.21\00:10:50.81 co-exist and co-equal personalities? 00:10:50.85\00:10:54.08 There's only, and I think 00:10:54.12\00:10:55.45 that would be one of the things, 00:10:55.48\00:10:57.15 dear Shelley, that we will be studying 00:10:57.19\00:10:58.52 throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. 00:10:58.55\00:10:59.89 Amen. How does that work? 00:10:59.92\00:11:01.26 Because there's only, 00:11:01.29\00:11:02.62 they say we use what eight to ten percent 00:11:02.66\00:11:03.99 sort of a whole lot of brain that just not being used, 00:11:04.03\00:11:06.13 that will help us to understand this, 00:11:06.16\00:11:07.73 this marvelous Trinity, 00:11:07.76\00:11:09.76 Trinitarian idea 00:11:09.80\00:11:12.57 of three co-existent, co-equal personalities that are God. 00:11:12.60\00:11:16.47 And of course, God or Elohim is, 00:11:16.50\00:11:19.37 is not a personal name, it's a title, 00:11:19.41\00:11:21.81 it's more of an office like, "Pastor, 00:11:21.84\00:11:23.95 " because you've got God the Father, 00:11:23.98\00:11:25.78 God-- they're all God. 00:11:25.81\00:11:27.55 So, God is not a personal name, 00:11:27.58\00:11:28.92 it's a title, an office that all three of them hold 00:11:28.95\00:11:32.15 which makes them co-equal and co-eternal. 00:11:32.19\00:11:33.99 You know, there's one thing 00:11:34.02\00:11:35.36 I want to say about that though. 00:11:35.39\00:11:36.73 Even though they are co-equal, 00:11:36.76\00:11:38.89 they're of one essence and they are perfectly united. 00:11:38.93\00:11:44.37 Still the Bible shows us a chain of command. 00:11:44.40\00:11:47.04 It does. It truly does. 00:11:47.07\00:11:48.40 Because everything that the Holy Spirit does 00:11:48.44\00:11:51.37 is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. 00:11:51.41\00:11:53.14 Yeah. 00:11:53.17\00:11:54.51 Everything that Christ does is to bring 00:11:54.54\00:11:56.04 glory to the Father. 00:11:56.08\00:11:57.41 Yes. 00:11:57.45\00:11:58.78 And then the Father turns around 00:11:58.81\00:12:00.15 and gives them- 00:12:00.18\00:12:01.52 And gives it back, yeah. 00:12:01.55\00:12:02.88 All authority. 00:12:02.92\00:12:04.25 I mean it's just, you know, the humility of God. 00:12:04.29\00:12:07.26 Yes. 00:12:07.29\00:12:08.62 And when I say of God, we speak, 00:12:08.66\00:12:10.39 we use the word trinity. 00:12:10.43\00:12:11.76 The humility of the trinity is outstanding. 00:12:11.79\00:12:15.90 But I think that's because 00:12:15.93\00:12:17.27 it's that essence of divine love. 00:12:17.30\00:12:18.70 Yes. Yes. 00:12:18.73\00:12:20.07 And the idea of one in purpose. 00:12:20.10\00:12:21.44 So, if we are truly one, I have no problem... 00:12:21.47\00:12:25.07 And, you know, 00:12:25.11\00:12:26.44 we are limited to the English language, 00:12:26.47\00:12:27.81 which is so poor when you're talking 00:12:27.84\00:12:29.38 but I will allow you to shine 00:12:29.41\00:12:31.88 because and you send it right back to me, 00:12:31.91\00:12:34.52 and I give it right back to you 00:12:34.55\00:12:35.88 and that's, that's how we work 00:12:35.92\00:12:37.25 because we are one in everything. 00:12:37.29\00:12:38.62 There's no jealousy, there's no envy. 00:12:38.65\00:12:41.12 There is volitional subordination 00:12:41.16\00:12:43.99 when it is necessary. 00:12:44.03\00:12:45.36 Or when Christ says, 00:12:45.39\00:12:46.73 "I give all glory to His Father." 00:12:46.76\00:12:48.76 Ellen White says, 00:12:48.80\00:12:50.13 "Plainly Jehovah, is the name given to Jesus. 00:12:50.17\00:12:53.30 But He chooses now to defer in certain things." 00:12:53.34\00:12:56.67 And Holy Spirit says, 00:12:56.71\00:12:58.24 "I don't come to speak of myself. 00:12:58.27\00:12:59.97 As you all said, I come to give glory to God." 00:13:00.01\00:13:02.14 Amen. A glory to Jesus. 00:13:02.18\00:13:03.61 So, it's, first of all, it's a good pattern for us, 00:13:03.65\00:13:07.08 who serve the Lord, and follow the Lord... 00:13:07.12\00:13:08.45 Yes. 00:13:08.48\00:13:09.82 That there is this, this subordination 00:13:09.85\00:13:12.32 because of love 00:13:12.35\00:13:14.16 and because of working in the same thing. 00:13:14.19\00:13:17.23 It seems like at least, or mostly in Adventism, 00:13:17.26\00:13:20.70 we have a difficult time saying Trinity. 00:13:20.73\00:13:23.97 No matter where I go all the years, 00:13:26.07\00:13:28.10 there are those who will come up, 00:13:28.14\00:13:29.47 and they will say, 00:13:29.50\00:13:30.84 "Well, I'll wait a minute here." 00:13:30.87\00:13:32.44 Because maybe they have, 00:13:32.47\00:13:33.81 they've defined Trinitarian or Trinity 00:13:33.84\00:13:35.41 a little differently. 00:13:35.44\00:13:37.28 We look at it today, 00:13:37.31\00:13:38.65 and what I have to say simplify, 00:13:38.68\00:13:40.52 I say "The Godhead." 00:13:40.55\00:13:41.88 So less confusion for a lot of people 00:13:41.92\00:13:43.75 because they look at the word 00:13:43.79\00:13:45.69 and their thinking is different than really what it is. 00:13:45.72\00:13:48.26 Agreed, agreed. 00:13:48.29\00:13:49.62 So we say, "Okay, with Godhead," 00:13:49.66\00:13:51.23 okay, that's the issue, 00:13:51.26\00:13:52.59 that's something goes on and on. 00:13:52.63\00:13:53.96 But as we look at it today, you mentioned the offices 00:13:54.00\00:13:57.57 all in one altogether. 00:13:57.60\00:13:59.53 No one were doing a thing any different 00:13:59.57\00:14:01.00 than the other one would do. 00:14:01.04\00:14:02.40 But like you say, 00:14:02.44\00:14:03.77 "God's law for instance, God's law was broken." 00:14:03.81\00:14:07.21 Jesus in his office came down here, 00:14:07.24\00:14:10.65 lived the perfect life, lived the law of God, 00:14:10.68\00:14:13.88 made sacrifice. 00:14:13.92\00:14:15.42 And then the Holy Spirit was sent. 00:14:15.45\00:14:18.59 Holy Spirit brings conviction. 00:14:18.62\00:14:20.49 Each one separate office be at one and the same. 00:14:20.52\00:14:24.66 So, I look at John 5:39, 00:14:24.69\00:14:27.36 you know, search the scriptures. 00:14:27.40\00:14:29.86 Because what we're doing today 'cause we want to find 00:14:29.90\00:14:32.33 our people today looking, need to find Jesus. 00:14:32.37\00:14:35.00 "Search the scriptures, 00:14:35.04\00:14:36.37 for in them ye think ye have eternal life: 00:14:36.40\00:14:39.11 and they are they which, what, testify of me." 00:14:39.14\00:14:41.84 So scripture testifies of Jesus, and you say, 00:14:41.88\00:14:44.21 "Yeah, but Jesus, what did He come for?" 00:14:44.25\00:14:46.45 John 5 it says, "He came to do the will of His father. 00:14:46.48\00:14:50.35 He came to finish the work." 00:14:50.39\00:14:52.55 So that helped me I'm saying, 00:14:52.59\00:14:54.39 "Praise God, when we study about Jesus, 00:14:54.42\00:14:56.46 that He came, He lived, He died, 00:14:56.49\00:14:58.19 He set the example, prep, you know, 00:14:58.23\00:15:00.03 made the doors open to heaven for us." 00:15:00.06\00:15:01.90 But He came to do the will of His Father, 00:15:01.93\00:15:04.53 He came to show us 00:15:04.57\00:15:05.90 who the Father really is rather than-- 00:15:05.93\00:15:08.37 Don't we think today that people have 00:15:08.40\00:15:10.07 a mis-concept of God and His character? 00:15:10.11\00:15:12.64 Oh, absolutely. 00:15:12.67\00:15:14.01 I think, I think that. 00:15:14.04\00:15:15.38 I will say this that 00:15:15.41\00:15:16.75 at the risk of being misunderstood. 00:15:16.78\00:15:18.11 I don't believe that the relationship in heaven 00:15:18.15\00:15:20.92 is Father, Son, Holy Ghost. 00:15:20.95\00:15:22.72 I think, I think we are, we are limited in our ability 00:15:22.75\00:15:27.22 to track that, to explain that. 00:15:27.26\00:15:29.32 So the best we can do in English, 00:15:29.36\00:15:31.29 or in, in human speech is Father, Son, Holy Ghost. 00:15:31.33\00:15:34.86 The relation is much more intimate than that. 00:15:34.90\00:15:37.47 But we have no language to, to describe that. 00:15:37.50\00:15:41.54 So the best we can do is Father, Son, 00:15:41.57\00:15:43.41 you know, you can't get any better than that on earth. 00:15:43.44\00:15:46.14 But it's closer than that, it's tighter than that. 00:15:46.17\00:15:49.04 It's more intimate than that. It's more intricate than that. 00:15:49.08\00:15:52.01 But for now, we've got to deal with Father, Son 00:15:52.05\00:15:53.98 'cause that's all we've got. 00:15:54.02\00:15:55.35 Isn't that what it means in scripture 00:15:55.38\00:15:57.19 when it says that the only begotten Son. 00:15:57.22\00:16:00.56 The word begotten really is means, "Intimate relationship." 00:16:00.59\00:16:04.63 And I thought about from the bosom, 00:16:04.66\00:16:06.73 I've heard they say it all time. 00:16:06.76\00:16:08.16 We used to run around in school and do different things, 00:16:08.20\00:16:11.37 and sometimes you had little buddy. 00:16:11.40\00:16:12.73 And every time you've seen one, you've seen the other, 00:16:12.77\00:16:14.40 what they say, "Booze and buddies," 00:16:14.44\00:16:16.57 that's humanly speaking. 00:16:16.60\00:16:18.27 Yeah. 00:16:18.31\00:16:19.64 But with relationship, it is an intimate, 00:16:19.67\00:16:22.71 it's one on one as it were, they're just so tied together, 00:16:22.74\00:16:26.18 they're inseparable. 00:16:26.21\00:16:27.55 Absolutely. 00:16:27.58\00:16:28.92 And that to me that's the begotten part of it. 00:16:28.95\00:16:30.82 Can we, can we hit that for just a minute? 00:16:30.85\00:16:32.92 Because this is where many people, even Christians, 00:16:32.95\00:16:38.19 it's not just necessarily Muslims or Jews. 00:16:38.23\00:16:41.00 But some Christians will say, "Well, he was begotten." 00:16:41.03\00:16:44.90 You were correct, that begotten is very intimate. 00:16:44.93\00:16:50.64 But I'd like to just hit a few scriptures on that. 00:16:50.67\00:16:53.48 And let's look at that. 00:16:53.51\00:16:54.98 In John 1:14, I'm going to read 00:16:55.01\00:16:58.81 from the American Standard Version, 00:16:58.85\00:17:01.55 John 1:14 because that's closest to the original Greek. 00:17:01.58\00:17:05.35 And what it says in John 1:14, 00:17:05.39\00:17:08.02 it says this, "And the word became flesh." 00:17:08.06\00:17:11.89 And it's of course, in the beginning was the word, 00:17:11.93\00:17:13.90 the word was with God, the word was God. 00:17:13.93\00:17:17.83 And so John 1:14 says, "The word became flesh 00:17:17.87\00:17:20.54 and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, 00:17:20.57\00:17:25.81 glory as of the only begotten from the Father." 00:17:25.84\00:17:32.48 Not of the father, but from the father. 00:17:32.51\00:17:35.02 "Full of grace and truth. Christ was sent." 00:17:35.05\00:17:39.72 He is the sole representative of God on earth, 00:17:39.75\00:17:44.29 before the spirit came. 00:17:44.33\00:17:46.76 And He came to present the character of God. 00:17:46.80\00:17:51.80 That's what I like about Hebrews 1:3 00:17:51.83\00:17:54.17 is it says that-- let me just read that to you 00:17:54.20\00:17:56.97 because that is such an amazing scripture. 00:17:57.01\00:18:01.24 Hebrews 1:3... 00:18:01.28\00:18:02.61 I'll start with verse 1, 00:18:05.65\00:18:07.35 "God who at various times and in various ways 00:18:07.38\00:18:09.98 spoke in the time passed to the Fathers by the prophets. 00:18:10.02\00:18:14.02 Has, in these last days, spoken to us by His Son 00:18:14.06\00:18:18.13 whom He has appointed heir of all things 00:18:18.16\00:18:20.30 through whom also He made the world." 00:18:20.33\00:18:23.67 So there's a lot of scripture in the New Testament 00:18:23.70\00:18:25.77 to show us that Christ was creator. 00:18:25.80\00:18:28.07 "Who is speaking of Christ," in verse 3. 00:18:28.10\00:18:30.77 "Being the brightness of his Glory, 00:18:30.81\00:18:34.84 and the express image of his person, 00:18:34.88\00:18:39.21 he was the affluence of God... 00:18:39.25\00:18:43.05 is upholding all things by the word of his power." 00:18:44.79\00:18:48.09 So, Christ is the only one who possesses every-- 00:18:48.12\00:18:53.03 A, He possessed every attribute of God, 00:18:53.06\00:18:55.66 He was fully God. 00:18:55.70\00:18:57.47 Now, Colossians 2:9 says that 00:18:57.50\00:19:01.67 "In him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." 00:19:01.70\00:19:08.78 Christ completely, I mean, these are, if you could clone, 00:19:08.81\00:19:13.42 if you want to use that word, everything that Jesus 00:19:13.45\00:19:19.19 was and is, is what the Father was is. 00:19:19.22\00:19:22.76 The exact nature of God. 00:19:22.79\00:19:26.06 The exact nature, exact everything. 00:19:26.09\00:19:27.43 Not just the outward as it were appearances what we think. 00:19:27.46\00:19:29.56 You noticed how you struggled for language. 00:19:29.60\00:19:31.80 Absolutely. 00:19:31.83\00:19:34.20 Because, because human language is so, 00:19:34.24\00:19:36.17 is so limited to describe a divine concept. 00:19:36.20\00:19:39.61 So, we do the best we can with what we have. 00:19:39.64\00:19:42.38 But God took on human flesh 00:19:42.41\00:19:45.58 and we beheld Him as Jesus Christ. 00:19:45.61\00:19:47.85 And that's about the best you can do 00:19:47.88\00:19:50.12 with something that, that we will spend eternity 00:19:50.15\00:19:52.62 trying to study. 00:19:52.65\00:19:53.99 And of course, we have spent the last 2000 plus years 00:19:54.02\00:19:56.83 dealing with it, the nature of Christ. 00:19:56.86\00:19:59.59 You know, we could go to Acts NIV 00:19:59.63\00:20:01.20 and all that kind of stuff which would 00:20:01.23\00:20:02.86 make it much too complex. 00:20:02.90\00:20:04.23 But the best we can do was that God, God chose 00:20:04.27\00:20:08.94 to take on human flesh, fully God, fully man 00:20:08.97\00:20:12.81 and coming to dwell with us. 00:20:12.84\00:20:14.18 And that, and the incarnation 00:20:14.21\00:20:16.08 is another hour of worth of, you know, of subject 00:20:16.11\00:20:19.38 that we could, that we could wrestle with. 00:20:19.41\00:20:21.18 But the one thing that I want to point out is 00:20:21.22\00:20:23.12 "begotten," many people think 00:20:23.15\00:20:24.75 "begotten" means, "To be born of," 00:20:24.79\00:20:27.39 because the word begotten was used as an only, 00:20:27.42\00:20:30.56 you know, an only child. 00:20:30.59\00:20:32.53 But in this sense, it's suggesting as you said, 00:20:32.56\00:20:35.76 a very intimate relationship. 00:20:35.80\00:20:37.13 Yes. 00:20:37.17\00:20:38.50 But it does not imply the big, necessarily, 00:20:38.53\00:20:40.60 the beginning of his Sonship I mean, it does not imply. 00:20:40.64\00:20:44.24 He was not created, He was not generated. 00:20:44.27\00:20:47.41 He-- It's not an event along a timeline. 00:20:47.44\00:20:51.21 Thank you. 00:20:51.25\00:20:52.58 He was always, always 00:20:52.61\00:20:54.25 that He did not come after the Father. 00:20:54.28\00:20:56.18 He was always there. 00:20:56.22\00:20:57.79 So, here's the scripture I want to give you 00:20:57.82\00:20:59.72 for that was John 1:18 says, 00:20:59.75\00:21:02.42 "No one has seen God at any time. 00:21:02.46\00:21:05.59 But the only begotten Son 00:21:05.63\00:21:07.16 who is in the bosom of the Father, 00:21:07.20\00:21:10.73 He has declared Him. " Now, like you said. 00:21:10.77\00:21:13.44 This suggests the deepest intimacy, the deepest love. 00:21:13.47\00:21:16.27 Wow. 00:21:16.30\00:21:17.64 But it's also, there was an eternal union 00:21:17.67\00:21:21.71 between the Father. 00:21:21.74\00:21:24.38 There was continual fellowship between the Father and Christ. 00:21:24.41\00:21:27.75 So you said in eternal union. 00:21:27.78\00:21:30.15 So there never was a time when that union did not exist. 00:21:30.19\00:21:32.39 Exactly. 00:21:32.42\00:21:33.76 And that's what happens when you get 00:21:33.79\00:21:35.12 a little too hung up on this Father, Son thing. 00:21:35.16\00:21:37.06 You know, if you take that 00:21:37.09\00:21:38.43 literally to its ends agree well. 00:21:38.46\00:21:40.00 You got a Father. 00:21:40.03\00:21:41.36 Then you had to get a Son after. 00:21:41.40\00:21:42.73 So Father, Son is the best we can do 00:21:42.76\00:21:44.57 but it does not fully explain this divine relationship 00:21:44.60\00:21:48.34 which has always existed. 00:21:48.37\00:21:50.11 And He did not become the Son when he was given, 00:21:50.14\00:21:53.78 when He was born in Bethlehem. 00:21:53.81\00:21:55.34 Let me read one more scripture out, 00:21:55.38\00:21:57.45 because this is a point that I really want to make. 00:21:57.48\00:22:00.32 John 3:16, we can all quote that, 00:22:00.35\00:22:02.52 "For God so loved the world 00:22:02.55\00:22:03.89 that He gave his only begotten Son, 00:22:03.92\00:22:06.19 that whosoever should believe in him would not perish, 00:22:06.22\00:22:10.99 but have everlasting life." 00:22:11.03\00:22:12.36 Amen. 00:22:12.39\00:22:13.73 The great value of the gift of God 00:22:13.76\00:22:16.23 is recognized because Christ was His Son, 00:22:16.26\00:22:21.87 because Christ was God. 00:22:21.90\00:22:24.47 So the great gift 00:22:24.51\00:22:27.21 of the value of the gift God is that 00:22:27.24\00:22:32.38 God Himself came to die for us. 00:22:32.41\00:22:36.85 And, you know, I believe that they were so closely knit, 00:22:36.89\00:22:41.39 so closely intricately united 00:22:41.42\00:22:45.46 that when Christ was on the cross, 00:22:45.49\00:22:47.63 you know, sometimes people will say, 00:22:47.66\00:22:49.00 "Oh! Well, the Father turned his face." 00:22:49.03\00:22:51.70 I think when Christ was on the cross, 00:22:51.73\00:22:53.97 God suffered just as much as His son suffered. 00:22:54.00\00:22:56.50 Oh! Yes. Absolutely. 00:22:56.54\00:22:57.91 Absolutely. Very much so. Very much. 00:22:57.94\00:22:59.61 In our humanness, we think when your children are sick, 00:22:59.64\00:23:02.31 when something happens, you suffer along with them. 00:23:02.34\00:23:05.51 They may be having a fever 00:23:05.55\00:23:06.88 and you just feel so bad for them. 00:23:06.92\00:23:08.72 Again, our human, yes, right, 00:23:08.75\00:23:10.39 it's our humanness that God is speaking to us 00:23:10.42\00:23:12.52 so that we can understand the situation. 00:23:12.55\00:23:14.86 And I think it's very imperative that 00:23:14.89\00:23:16.56 we understand about that CA mentioned the nature. 00:23:16.59\00:23:20.50 You know, Christ was fully human, fully divine. 00:23:20.53\00:23:25.53 Think about that fully. That doesn't mean halfway. 00:23:25.57\00:23:28.84 That doesn't mean part. 00:23:28.87\00:23:30.24 You know just part, it simply means 00:23:30.27\00:23:32.01 He was fully human and fully divine. 00:23:32.04\00:23:34.68 And we can maybe illustrate it. 00:23:34.71\00:23:36.21 Other words both God and we talked God and man. 00:23:36.24\00:23:39.48 And if we deny the divinity, if we deny the humanity, 00:23:39.51\00:23:45.59 we're also going to find our self out of salvation. 00:23:45.62\00:23:50.39 Think about it. 00:23:50.43\00:23:51.76 Salvation is depending upon fully divine, fully human. 00:23:51.79\00:23:57.40 You see, because it takes maybe illustrated 00:23:57.43\00:24:00.14 such as wasn't it Jacob that saw 00:24:00.17\00:24:03.77 had that dream about the ladder? 00:24:03.81\00:24:05.17 You remember the ladder? And it reached where? 00:24:05.21\00:24:07.64 Heaven. Heaven and earth. 00:24:07.68\00:24:09.24 Earth humanity. Right? Divinity is heaven. 00:24:09.28\00:24:14.68 Now which one can we take away or substitute or tone down? 00:24:14.72\00:24:19.79 Divinity of Christ or humanity? We need them both. 00:24:19.82\00:24:21.89 You can't. 00:24:21.92\00:24:23.26 Okay, if it's a humanity, so I take that ladder 00:24:23.29\00:24:26.56 and I cut off the bottom part of it. 00:24:26.59\00:24:29.56 I've lost salvation. Yes. 00:24:29.60\00:24:31.53 If I say, "Okay, "I'm gonna say, 00:24:31.57\00:24:33.23 "He's fully human" but if I cut off the top of that ladder, 00:24:33.27\00:24:38.14 it doesn't reach to heaven. 00:24:38.17\00:24:40.68 So therefore salvation is in trouble again. 00:24:40.71\00:24:42.74 So it takes fully human, fully divine 00:24:42.78\00:24:46.28 in order for us to be what He would have us to be. 00:24:46.31\00:24:49.38 And that's, I mean, I'm thankful he says "in us," 00:24:49.42\00:24:51.72 he wants us, right? 00:24:51.75\00:24:53.09 Be partakers of that, what? 00:24:53.12\00:24:55.29 Divine nature. Think about that. 00:24:55.32\00:24:58.09 In fact, it had to be or He could not be tempted. 00:24:58.13\00:25:02.93 Is that Hebrews 4? 00:25:02.96\00:25:04.30 "In all things like we without sin," 00:25:04.33\00:25:07.67 and I had to pray for patience 00:25:07.70\00:25:10.44 because I have people sometime that will say, 00:25:10.47\00:25:13.88 "Well, I know Jesus here, and He lived the perfect life 00:25:13.91\00:25:16.88 and so and so but He had an edge." 00:25:16.91\00:25:19.71 What does that mean? What does that say? 00:25:19.75\00:25:21.85 He had an edge? 00:25:21.88\00:25:23.69 Other words, did He have something 00:25:23.72\00:25:25.05 or exercise something that you and I cannot have? 00:25:25.09\00:25:27.49 If He did, He is not my, He's not my substitute. 00:25:27.52\00:25:30.89 Let me add the scripture there that will prove 00:25:30.93\00:25:34.03 that He didn't have an edge. 00:25:34.06\00:25:35.40 And that's Hebrews 2:14. 00:25:35.43\00:25:37.67 Well, we're all-- 00:25:37.70\00:25:39.30 Is that you are as well? Hebrews 2:14. 00:25:39.33\00:25:41.50 "In as much as the children have partaken 00:25:41.54\00:25:44.47 of flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared 00:25:44.51\00:25:47.74 in the same that through death, He might destroy Him 00:25:47.78\00:25:51.35 who had the power of death. 00:25:51.38\00:25:52.81 That is the devil. 00:25:52.85\00:25:54.18 And release those who through the fear of death 00:25:54.22\00:25:56.89 for all their lives." 00:25:56.92\00:25:58.75 It goes on here, where is the part that says. 00:25:58.79\00:26:01.92 2: 17 Hebrews. It's 2: 17. 00:26:01.96\00:26:04.56 So He-- The likeness. 00:26:04.59\00:26:06.16 Yeah. Oh, there we are. I'm just. 00:26:06.19\00:26:07.83 This is a different Bible. I'll tell you and it's small. 00:26:07.86\00:26:10.00 "Therefore, in all things" I was right there. 00:26:10.03\00:26:11.80 Come on now. 00:26:11.83\00:26:13.17 "In all the things, he had to be made like his brethren 00:26:13.20\00:26:18.57 that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest 00:26:18.61\00:26:21.94 in things pertaining to God, 00:26:21.98\00:26:23.78 to make propitiation for the sins of the people." 00:26:23.81\00:26:26.25 Isn't that beautiful? 00:26:26.28\00:26:27.62 So he became like us in all things. 00:26:27.65\00:26:32.55 And in the Bible says that He was tempted. 00:26:32.59\00:26:35.46 Where is that? Hebrews 4:17 is that? 00:26:35.49\00:26:38.33 That he was-- 00:26:38.36\00:26:39.96 isn't it amazing when you've got a different Bible, 00:26:40.00\00:26:41.93 how you can't find anything. 00:26:41.96\00:26:43.50 Probably, right. Yeah, yeah. 00:26:43.53\00:26:45.60 I think it's around 14. 00:26:45.63\00:26:48.47 Anyway, he says in Hebrews 4, I know here it is. 00:26:48.50\00:26:52.57 Yeah, 14 and 15. Verse 15, I think 15. 00:26:52.61\00:26:56.21 14 and 15. 00:26:56.24\00:26:58.65 Okay. 00:26:58.68\00:27:00.02 Yes, verse 15, Hebrews 4:15 says, 00:27:00.05\00:27:02.45 "For we do not have a high priest 00:27:02.48\00:27:04.65 who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses. 00:27:04.69\00:27:07.66 But was in all points, all points tempted 00:27:07.69\00:27:12.09 as we are yet without sin." 00:27:12.13\00:27:14.56 He had no identity. 00:27:14.60\00:27:15.93 It says a number of things that particular text one 00:27:15.96\00:27:19.03 that the possibility of failure did exist. 00:27:19.07\00:27:21.94 Totally. 00:27:21.97\00:27:23.30 Because, because if there's no, if there's no temptation, 00:27:23.34\00:27:26.74 then there's no, you know, if there's, if-- 00:27:26.78\00:27:29.34 Another words if someone put something for you 00:27:29.38\00:27:31.31 that doesn't tempt you, 00:27:31.35\00:27:32.68 then there is no possibility or it doesn't do anything for you. 00:27:32.71\00:27:34.32 That's right. 00:27:34.35\00:27:35.68 But he took, he took the risk and sort of fleshing out 00:27:35.72\00:27:39.72 what you said kind of think it's so beautiful the fact that 00:27:39.75\00:27:41.96 one, man could not atone for his own sins. 00:27:41.99\00:27:45.63 That's right. 00:27:45.66\00:27:47.00 So Christ as man was not sufficient. 00:27:47.03\00:27:49.26 It took God to die for us. 00:27:49.30\00:27:51.87 So, but it also took man to live out that life. 00:27:51.90\00:27:56.60 So, you've got the two ends of that continuum. 00:27:56.64\00:27:59.87 God Man, Man God, Son of God, Son of Man. 00:27:59.91\00:28:03.35 He had to be God enough to save me from my sins. 00:28:03.38\00:28:06.72 He had to be man enough to be my example. 00:28:06.75\00:28:09.68 And of course, the Book of Hebrews 00:28:09.72\00:28:11.32 is written in short to say, 00:28:11.35\00:28:14.09 "Hey, don't go back to your old ways. 00:28:14.12\00:28:16.22 Jesus is the real deal." 00:28:16.26\00:28:18.49 Yes. He is the real deal. 00:28:18.53\00:28:19.89 There's no one else to look for. 00:28:19.93\00:28:21.30 No one else is coming. This is it. 00:28:21.33\00:28:23.37 And this is sufficient. And this is enough. 00:28:23.40\00:28:25.97 And that's why we see this over and over again. 00:28:26.00\00:28:28.64 It plays itself out again so many times 00:28:28.67\00:28:30.81 in the Book of Hebrews. 00:28:30.84\00:28:32.17 Look at Hebrews 13:5 and 6. 00:28:32.21\00:28:33.54 Things like that I can boldly say, 00:28:33.58\00:28:34.91 "God is my helper." 00:28:34.94\00:28:36.28 Oh, why because Christ sacrifice is sufficient. 00:28:36.31\00:28:38.61 It was sufficient for us, and the part of that sacrifice 00:28:38.65\00:28:41.88 lives itself out in us each and every day. 00:28:41.92\00:28:43.59 See, Christ had to meet sin at the very entrance of sin. 00:28:43.62\00:28:48.99 There's people today, who, who try to say again 00:28:49.02\00:28:52.49 that He, Jesus had an edge. 00:28:52.53\00:28:54.60 But remember it talk about in Galatians 4:4. 00:28:54.63\00:28:57.73 It talks about that 00:28:57.77\00:28:59.10 He was born of a what? Of a woman. 00:28:59.13\00:29:01.77 Woman. Okay. 00:29:01.80\00:29:03.14 So, you mention pastor 00:29:03.17\00:29:04.51 that he is subject to the risk and the liabilities 00:29:04.54\00:29:08.74 that he may never make it back to heaven. 00:29:08.78\00:29:11.95 And then what do we have? We have a substitute for that. 00:29:11.98\00:29:14.45 You think about it. 00:29:14.48\00:29:15.82 If we remove the real humanity as it were, you know, 00:29:15.85\00:29:20.82 try to disable that He had an edge on it. 00:29:20.86\00:29:23.86 Think of the teaching just going on today. 00:29:23.89\00:29:25.96 People say that Jesus naturally was born of whom? 00:29:25.99\00:29:30.73 Of Mary. 00:29:30.77\00:29:32.10 But Mary was not ordinary. 00:29:32.13\00:29:35.80 So therefore, it made her child not ordinary. 00:29:35.84\00:29:40.38 See that's a counterfeit there to say. 00:29:40.41\00:29:42.14 Well, she was not ordinary, so He was not ordinary, 00:29:42.18\00:29:45.48 so therefore He has an edge. 00:29:45.51\00:29:48.12 We know that's not what scriptures teach at all. 00:29:48.15\00:29:50.12 And the truth is just the opposite. 00:29:50.15\00:29:51.49 Mary was very ordinary. 00:29:51.52\00:29:52.85 Yes. Exactly. 00:29:52.89\00:29:54.22 The fact that Christ chose an ordinary person, 00:29:54.26\00:29:55.59 the fact that divinity could 00:29:55.62\00:29:57.56 come through the line of an ordinary person. 00:29:57.59\00:29:59.83 Amen. 00:29:59.86\00:30:01.26 Really gives the glory back to Jesus. 00:30:01.30\00:30:03.83 Not to Mary, who deserves no glory. 00:30:03.87\00:30:05.20 That's right. She was the tool. 00:30:05.23\00:30:07.17 She was the-- 00:30:07.20\00:30:09.04 I was gonna use a word but that won't be understood. 00:30:09.07\00:30:11.17 But she was the vessel... Yeah. 00:30:11.21\00:30:13.88 Through which, through which Christ came but, 00:30:13.91\00:30:15.74 but that gives her no "props'' in heaven. 00:30:15.78\00:30:18.18 No. She didn't get a leg-up. 00:30:18.21\00:30:20.08 She's got to come by the cross like every other person. 00:30:20.12\00:30:21.45 Scripture says "He was born, He was born of a woman." 00:30:21.48\00:30:25.32 Right then and right there at that point, at that time, 00:30:25.35\00:30:27.72 nothing special. 00:30:27.76\00:30:29.09 I have a dear friend she's probably watching right now. 00:30:29.12\00:30:31.29 Bless your heart. 00:30:31.33\00:30:32.66 And she grew up Catholic 00:30:32.69\00:30:35.36 and she has not yet joined the Adventist Church. 00:30:35.40\00:30:38.40 But she, what happened was a few years ago, 00:30:38.43\00:30:40.57 she really began studying her Bible 00:30:40.60\00:30:43.24 and began questioning. 00:30:43.27\00:30:45.61 She said, "Why do we make..." she asks her friends, 00:30:45.64\00:30:48.21 "Why do we make so much of Mary 00:30:48.24\00:30:49.91 when Mary's barely even mentioned in the Bible?" 00:30:49.94\00:30:53.78 And she's really become a student of the word. 00:30:53.82\00:30:56.32 But here's, here's the point that we have to 00:30:56.35\00:30:58.99 when we're talking about "Did Jesus have an edge?" 00:30:59.02\00:31:01.92 The only edge that Jesus may have had 00:31:01.96\00:31:05.03 is He understood the love of the Father. 00:31:05.06\00:31:07.83 That's the only edge because what He did when He humbled 00:31:07.86\00:31:11.20 himself to take on the flesh of mankind to become a man. 00:31:11.23\00:31:16.77 And, you know, what Kenneth Cox says, 00:31:16.81\00:31:18.17 that's like "If you think of there's humans, animals, 00:31:18.21\00:31:24.55 "Then he says, "Rodents or something and then insects." 00:31:24.58\00:31:27.55 He said, "It was like Christ." 00:31:27.58\00:31:29.85 You know, there is, there was God, there were angels, 00:31:29.88\00:31:32.45 and there was man and he said 00:31:32.49\00:31:33.82 it's just like him becoming an insect for us. 00:31:33.86\00:31:38.66 But the point is Christ fully while He was on earth, 00:31:38.69\00:31:44.73 He did not call on His divine powers. 00:31:44.77\00:31:47.30 No, no. 00:31:47.34\00:31:48.67 He fully relied on the Holy Spirit. 00:31:48.70\00:31:51.41 It was, He was guided by God. 00:31:51.44\00:31:53.91 And even though He, when you say 00:31:53.94\00:31:55.71 He didn't rely on His divine powers, 00:31:55.74\00:31:57.41 He did miracles. 00:31:57.45\00:31:58.78 But it was only as God directed because He said, 00:31:58.81\00:32:01.72 "What I see the Father do, this is what I do." 00:32:01.75\00:32:04.42 So it was only as God directed Him. 00:32:04.45\00:32:06.72 Precisely. 00:32:06.76\00:32:08.09 So but He still, He still had no edge other than what? 00:32:08.12\00:32:10.86 He went to scripture like we are told to do. 00:32:10.89\00:32:13.06 And He learned the will of His Father. 00:32:13.09\00:32:14.76 Amen. 00:32:14.80\00:32:16.13 Like we're supposed to do, He is my substitute, 00:32:16.16\00:32:18.93 full, entirety. 00:32:18.97\00:32:20.97 And so, I'm thankful the Bible is so clear on the issue, 00:32:21.00\00:32:23.17 we need not mistake about the cohesive nature of Christ. 00:32:23.20\00:32:27.21 And this, we're talking about this teaching about Mary. 00:32:27.24\00:32:29.84 I'm gonna read one passage 00:32:29.88\00:32:31.21 and I am sure you have other things. 00:32:31.25\00:32:32.58 Sure. 00:32:32.61\00:32:33.95 I've never heard people maybe use this one here, 00:32:33.98\00:32:36.08 but I want us to think about it if we will. 00:32:36.12\00:32:38.72 Because people who say, he had a different, you know, 00:32:38.75\00:32:42.86 nature than we have, notice what the Bible says 00:32:42.89\00:32:45.19 I got in 1 John 4:2 and 3 and so on. 00:32:45.23\00:32:48.56 It says, "Here by know ye that the spirit of God." 00:32:48.60\00:32:51.13 Talking about spirit of God. 00:32:51.17\00:32:52.50 "Every spirit that confesses, 00:32:52.53\00:32:53.87 that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh..." 00:32:53.90\00:32:56.07 Yes. Yes. 00:32:56.10\00:32:57.44 "Is of God," but we have the teaching. 00:32:57.47\00:32:59.14 It wasn't the human flesh He had an edge because of Mary 00:32:59.17\00:33:03.41 but notice, "Every spirit that confesses not 00:33:03.45\00:33:05.88 that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God." 00:33:05.91\00:33:10.29 That teaching is not of God. Amen. 00:33:10.32\00:33:11.95 And then this is that spirit notice of antichrist. 00:33:11.99\00:33:15.62 Yes. 00:33:15.66\00:33:16.99 "Where all of you have heard that it should come 00:33:17.03\00:33:18.59 and even now already is in the world." 00:33:18.63\00:33:20.43 So it kind of goes you're talking about 00:33:20.46\00:33:21.86 where this teaching came from, is a spirit of antichrist. 00:33:21.90\00:33:25.27 It's against Christ. 00:33:25.30\00:33:27.10 And so we need to be careful of that one 00:33:27.14\00:33:30.01 and never say He had an--- had an edge. 00:33:30.04\00:33:34.28 Not my Jesus, not my Lord, not my Savior. 00:33:34.31\00:33:36.91 And that's one of the testament prophet 00:33:36.95\00:33:38.28 or someone who comes representing God, 00:33:38.31\00:33:40.18 they've got to say "Christ has come with that." 00:33:40.22\00:33:41.62 Good. 00:33:41.65\00:33:42.98 You know, and Christ said this about ourselves, 00:33:43.02\00:33:44.35 we're looking in Luke 4:16 and Shelley you know, 00:33:44.39\00:33:45.72 you've got something coming up. 00:33:45.75\00:33:47.09 When Christ went into synagogue and He quoted from Isaiah. 00:33:47.12\00:33:50.83 And then He closed the book and said "Well this day... 00:33:50.86\00:33:54.30 that is fulfilled in your ears." 00:33:54.33\00:33:56.43 And around about verse 28, 29, they took him, 00:33:56.46\00:33:59.33 they want to throw Him off a cliff and kill Him. 00:33:59.37\00:34:01.20 Yes. You know. 00:34:01.24\00:34:02.57 Well, why did they want to kill Him? 00:34:02.60\00:34:03.94 Because they realized that Isaiah's prophetic words were 00:34:03.97\00:34:07.74 talking about God, and for Christ to say, 00:34:07.78\00:34:10.58 "This is fulfilled in your ears." 00:34:10.61\00:34:12.38 They knew He was saying in code, "I'm God. 00:34:12.41\00:34:16.12 Make it plain." Yes. 00:34:16.15\00:34:17.49 And they picked it up and of course, 00:34:17.52\00:34:18.85 they wanted to kill Him right then. 00:34:18.89\00:34:20.82 So He said it of himself, "I am God." 00:34:20.86\00:34:24.66 Yes, He did. 00:34:24.69\00:34:26.80 I mean, he says in John 8:58, He said to them, 00:34:26.83\00:34:31.70 "Before Abraham was I am." 00:34:31.73\00:34:34.67 Amen. 00:34:34.70\00:34:36.04 Or the "I am," this is Jehovah, I mean this is God 00:34:36.07\00:34:39.97 but He is saying, He is proclaiming 00:34:40.01\00:34:42.38 His eternal existence. 00:34:42.41\00:34:44.38 Then He says in John 10:30. 00:34:44.41\00:34:46.88 "I and my father are one," 00:34:46.92\00:34:49.55 and then He avowed the authority 00:34:49.58\00:34:53.02 to forgive sins which was only-- 00:34:53.05\00:34:55.62 That's a God thing. And that's a God thing only. 00:34:55.66\00:34:57.99 So that's Mark 2:10 and 11 where he says, 00:34:58.03\00:35:00.30 "But that you may know 00:35:00.33\00:35:01.86 that the Son of Man has power on earth 00:35:01.90\00:35:03.26 to forgive sins.' 00:35:03.30\00:35:04.63 He said to the paralytic. 00:35:04.67\00:35:06.23 I say to you arise, take up your bed, 00:35:06.27\00:35:09.60 and go to your house." 00:35:09.64\00:35:11.31 'Someone told me the other day Kenny, that's that, well, 00:35:11.34\00:35:14.28 Christ never came right out and admit it, 00:35:14.31\00:35:16.71 He was the Son of God. 00:35:16.75\00:35:18.08 Really. 00:35:18.11\00:35:19.45 And I said, turn to Luke 22:70 and 22:71. 00:35:19.48\00:35:23.28 Luke 22:70 and 71 says, 00:35:23.32\00:35:26.99 "Then they all said to him, 00:35:27.02\00:35:28.79 'Are you then the Son of God?' 00:35:28.82\00:35:31.16 So He said to them, 'You rightly say that I am.' 00:35:31.19\00:35:36.70 And they said 'What further testimony do we have need for 00:35:36.73\00:35:40.47 we have heard it ourselves from his own mouth.' 00:35:40.50\00:35:44.67 "They were ready to stone Him. Exactly. 00:35:44.71\00:35:47.04 They didn't get the opportunity to stone Him so eventually 00:35:47.08\00:35:51.38 they crucified Him. 00:35:51.41\00:35:53.08 Yeah. 00:35:53.11\00:35:54.45 But when you're thinking about, so He's fully God, 00:35:54.48\00:35:58.05 He claims He's fully God. 00:35:58.09\00:36:00.36 But when He came here, He relied on the Father's power, 00:36:00.39\00:36:04.03 He experienced all of the emotions that we experience 00:36:04.06\00:36:07.13 think of Him in the Garden of Gethsemane. 00:36:07.16\00:36:09.80 He was feeling depression, oppression. 00:36:09.83\00:36:13.30 I mean, He was so, 00:36:13.34\00:36:15.17 the weight of the sins of the world 00:36:15.20\00:36:17.07 was beginning to be set upon Him. 00:36:17.11\00:36:19.91 And He's sweating blood. 00:36:19.94\00:36:21.94 And He is at this point 00:36:21.98\00:36:23.31 with the loud vehement cries Hebrew says. 00:36:23.35\00:36:26.55 He's crying out to the Father and Lord, 00:36:26.58\00:36:30.59 "If it's possible, let this cup pass from Me." 00:36:30.62\00:36:33.86 He knew that He was about to be crucified. 00:36:33.89\00:36:36.49 He knew the pain, the humiliation. 00:36:36.52\00:36:39.56 He knew that He was going to be separated from His Father 00:36:39.59\00:36:42.43 because of sin. Oh, mercy, that was yes... 00:36:42.46\00:36:44.13 He felt the weight of the sins, and in his humanity. 00:36:44.17\00:36:49.37 Even though He knew this is the reason He came to earth, 00:36:49.40\00:36:52.21 this shows how human He was, it's like. 00:36:52.24\00:36:54.24 "Oh father if it's possible, let this pass." 00:36:54.28\00:36:57.51 And then Luke 22:42, He says, 00:36:57.55\00:37:00.75 "But not mine will yours be done." 00:37:00.78\00:37:04.49 He was always submissive to the Father. 00:37:04.52\00:37:06.79 You could not think of more clear effusion that defines 00:37:06.82\00:37:10.13 humanity than that particular. 00:37:10.16\00:37:11.79 You know we are if the Lord, I want this. 00:37:11.83\00:37:14.60 This is not... but not my will, thy will. 00:37:14.63\00:37:19.77 That and if we could all ascend to that. 00:37:19.80\00:37:23.27 Please, yes. 00:37:23.30\00:37:24.64 I don't want to do this, I don't want to go through this 00:37:24.67\00:37:26.47 but hey, I want to do your will, 00:37:26.51\00:37:28.14 I want to please you. 00:37:28.18\00:37:29.51 You know, we're talking about text that kind of affirm 00:37:29.54\00:37:32.58 John is it 49 were 49:10, 8, 9 were, 00:37:32.61\00:37:36.79 they just happen to show us the father and suffices us. 00:37:36.82\00:37:38.62 Yes 00:37:38.65\00:37:39.99 And, and in short is you're looking at it, 00:37:40.02\00:37:43.16 "If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father." 00:37:43.19\00:37:44.83 How that must have, I want to say broke His heart, 00:37:44.86\00:37:47.50 His human nature. 00:37:47.53\00:37:50.07 If you were with somebody all the time 00:37:50.10\00:37:51.53 and you're doing and you know, 00:37:51.57\00:37:52.93 may they ask you a question "Are you a Christian?" 00:37:52.97\00:37:54.50 After you've been with him for a month 00:37:54.54\00:37:55.94 or two months or ten years you know, three years. 00:37:55.97\00:37:58.97 How that must broke the heart of Jesus. 00:37:59.01\00:38:01.11 "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father." 00:38:01.14\00:38:04.15 Yeah. 00:38:04.18\00:38:05.51 And even God Himself testified of the deity of Jesus. 00:38:05.55\00:38:10.39 He even did that in Matthew 3 at the baptism. 00:38:10.42\00:38:12.82 Yes. 00:38:12.85\00:38:14.19 This is my beloved Son what? 00:38:14.22\00:38:16.22 He said in whom I am well pleased on the mount of 00:38:16.26\00:38:20.30 transfiguration what did he say? 00:38:20.33\00:38:22.20 There's a voice out of the clouds. 00:38:22.23\00:38:23.97 "This is my beloved Son." 00:38:24.00\00:38:26.60 Hebrews 1:8. 00:38:26.63\00:38:28.00 "God calls His Son God." Yes. 00:38:28.04\00:38:32.04 "God calls His Son God" 00:38:32.07\00:38:35.44 I mean these are heavy duty things 00:38:35.48\00:38:37.05 that we just can't throw out and say it doesn't matter. 00:38:37.08\00:38:39.38 It does matter. 00:38:39.41\00:38:41.18 It helps us to understand His nature and understand the love 00:38:41.22\00:38:43.99 that He has for us, and what He's trying to show us. 00:38:44.02\00:38:46.76 But, you know, something we think about Him being tempted 00:38:46.79\00:38:48.62 in every way that we were tempted. 00:38:48.66\00:38:49.99 Oh, mercy. Think of this. 00:38:50.03\00:38:51.36 The human nature and like you're saying, 00:38:51.39\00:38:53.13 He was rejected by his family, I mean, 00:38:53.16\00:38:55.43 they thought He was crazy. 00:38:55.46\00:38:56.87 You know His brothers didn't accept Him. 00:38:56.90\00:38:58.57 And then even His mother was outside thinking 00:38:58.60\00:39:00.34 He's lost His mind come on out, you know. 00:39:00.37\00:39:04.44 He was rejected by the religious leaders. 00:39:04.47\00:39:07.08 He was rejected by His own 00:39:07.11\00:39:09.08 that He came to save in so many ways. 00:39:09.11\00:39:11.35 Then He's got this group as you said, 00:39:11.38\00:39:13.31 that's with him for this time. 00:39:13.35\00:39:14.88 And what do they do? 00:39:14.92\00:39:16.58 They scatter after He's arrested 00:39:16.62\00:39:19.35 in the Garden of Gethsemane. 00:39:19.39\00:39:21.76 Peter who has just said, you know, 00:39:21.79\00:39:24.83 'cause Jesus kept telling him, "I'm going to suffer, 00:39:24.86\00:39:28.26 the Messiah must suffer." 00:39:28.30\00:39:29.63 You know, this is, and they expected a militant Messiah, 00:39:29.66\00:39:32.90 not a suffering Messiah. 00:39:32.93\00:39:34.74 And so here Peter has said, if you know, 00:39:34.77\00:39:40.31 when he said that he would die, Christ that He would die 00:39:40.34\00:39:43.24 and raise again in three days, 00:39:43.28\00:39:44.65 he kept telling them over and over, 00:39:44.68\00:39:47.05 didn't register with and he's like God, 00:39:47.08\00:39:49.85 Lord forbid you know 00:39:49.88\00:39:51.22 that Jesus have to go through this. 00:39:51.25\00:39:53.22 And then Peter follows Him at the distance. 00:39:53.25\00:39:56.26 He shows up at the trial, warming himself by the fire. 00:39:56.29\00:40:00.20 He rejects him three times as Jesus said he will. 00:40:00.23\00:40:03.70 So He's going through all of this rejection. 00:40:03.73\00:40:06.53 Think how He would have been tempted. 00:40:06.57\00:40:09.07 If I was God, 00:40:09.10\00:40:11.14 would I ever been tempted to just stand up and say, 00:40:11.17\00:40:14.94 "You don't think I'm God. 00:40:14.98\00:40:16.58 Let me show you something. 00:40:16.61\00:40:18.11 Let me call fire down from heaven. 00:40:18.15\00:40:19.91 Let me do this, that or the other." 00:40:19.95\00:40:21.72 Yeah. 00:40:21.75\00:40:23.08 He was tempted in all ways, and the final thing 00:40:23.12\00:40:26.22 when He was on the cross, think about this. 00:40:26.25\00:40:28.82 Here He's parched, you know, Isaiah said that 00:40:28.86\00:40:31.69 "He was marred beyond any other man." 00:40:31.73\00:40:33.90 Oh, they couldn't recognize Him. 00:40:33.93\00:40:35.73 Mercy. 00:40:35.76\00:40:37.10 He has, His flesh had been torn out. 00:40:37.13\00:40:38.57 He was, He was from this flogging, 00:40:38.60\00:40:41.84 He was dehydrated, His loss of blood. 00:40:41.87\00:40:46.11 His tongue is cleaving to the cleft of his mouth. 00:40:46.14\00:40:49.64 Then they offer Him vinegar and gall, 00:40:49.68\00:40:51.95 a combination that had a little wine in it 00:40:51.98\00:40:54.58 that He was surely tempted to take that 00:40:54.62\00:40:58.85 because His mouth was so dry. 00:40:58.89\00:41:01.42 He was tempted to take it because it could have, 00:41:01.46\00:41:05.16 it could have numbed His pain-- 00:41:05.19\00:41:06.53 Numbed the pain a little bit. 00:41:06.56\00:41:07.90 But He didn't. 00:41:07.93\00:41:09.33 But He didn't, why, because what He want? 00:41:09.36\00:41:10.70 He wanted a clear mind as part of the health message, 00:41:10.73\00:41:15.60 part is that would give to the world 00:41:15.64\00:41:17.34 is we need a clear mind. 00:41:17.37\00:41:18.74 And we take something in it to dull that 00:41:18.77\00:41:21.41 or that we can't make right choices and decisions. 00:41:21.44\00:41:23.58 See, He was tempted in every way 00:41:23.61\00:41:25.68 'cause there are people out there 00:41:25.71\00:41:27.05 who are tempted to overcome their pain 00:41:27.08\00:41:29.65 by some kind of something. 00:41:29.68\00:41:31.85 He was tempted in the same way 00:41:31.89\00:41:33.52 but He overcame that temptation. 00:41:33.56\00:41:36.26 He gives us the victory. 00:41:36.29\00:41:37.63 How much temptation would it be if you mention. 00:41:37.66\00:41:40.26 If you had the power like you mentioned 00:41:40.30\00:41:43.10 somebody causing you little grief over here. 00:41:43.13\00:41:44.93 You just put them aside real quick. 00:41:44.97\00:41:46.30 Yeah. Yeah. 00:41:46.33\00:41:47.67 He had that divinity, full divinity for he could have 00:41:47.70\00:41:49.90 called 10,000 angels, right? 00:41:49.94\00:41:52.74 He could have come down off it. 00:41:52.77\00:41:54.11 He could have done what He wanted to do. 00:41:54.14\00:41:56.18 Think about how that self control that He possessed 00:41:56.21\00:41:59.28 through the Holy Spirit, through the Father, 00:41:59.31\00:42:01.88 He had that because He could have done it, 00:42:01.92\00:42:03.82 but He didn't do it. 00:42:03.85\00:42:05.19 But He was relying on the Holy Spirit. 00:42:05.22\00:42:06.55 He was relying on the spirit of the living God. 00:42:06.59\00:42:08.46 And you have so few people in your ministry 00:42:08.49\00:42:10.63 understand and truly enter into what you're trying to do. 00:42:10.66\00:42:13.50 Even you know on a way to Emmaus after the cross, 00:42:13.53\00:42:17.73 because then we thought it was He was going to deliver. 00:42:17.77\00:42:20.07 You know, they just 00:42:20.10\00:42:21.44 and the disciples didn't get it. 00:42:21.47\00:42:23.41 You know, which is why of course, 00:42:23.44\00:42:24.81 they needed upper room experience 00:42:24.84\00:42:26.47 so they could kind of get in line 00:42:26.51\00:42:29.08 with what the Holy Spirit was trying to do. 00:42:29.11\00:42:31.65 But to have so few enter into an understanding, 00:42:31.68\00:42:35.35 even your buddies, your intimate group still don't 00:42:35.38\00:42:39.09 really have the understanding of what is going on, And so, 00:42:39.12\00:42:43.63 you know, I'm looking at this thing 00:42:43.66\00:42:44.99 and I'm in John 17 on the cross. 00:42:45.03\00:42:47.40 And Christ is saying, He's praying for Himself. 00:42:47.43\00:42:49.23 "And now, our father, glorify me together with yourself, 00:42:49.26\00:42:52.33 with the glory which I had with you before the world was." 00:42:52.37\00:42:56.10 So again, He's remembering a time when we were. 00:42:56.14\00:42:59.11 We were there, we were doing it and now here I am suffering so, 00:42:59.14\00:43:04.01 Lord, do this, help me be successful through all of this. 00:43:04.05\00:43:07.32 So through all of this, there is this dependent upon God, 00:43:07.35\00:43:10.35 the same dependence that not only we can have, 00:43:10.39\00:43:14.39 we must have if we were going to be successful 00:43:14.42\00:43:17.39 in this Christian life. 00:43:17.43\00:43:18.76 Let me throw this in because a lot of people don't know. 00:43:18.79\00:43:21.06 Lot of Christians don't realize that Christ is Creator. 00:43:21.10\00:43:26.37 You know, we just read in Hebrews 1:3 00:43:26.40\00:43:28.94 that it was through Christ 00:43:28.97\00:43:31.24 that God created the world through him. 00:43:31.27\00:43:34.98 John 1:1-3. 00:43:35.01\00:43:37.91 Well, I will just read verse 3 says, that, 00:43:37.95\00:43:40.38 "All things were made through him through Christ. 00:43:40.42\00:43:43.69 And without him nothing was made that was made." 00:43:43.72\00:43:47.92 Colossians 1:16 and 17 says. 00:43:47.96\00:43:50.79 "For by him all things were created, 00:43:50.83\00:43:52.76 that are in heaven and on earth, 00:43:52.79\00:43:55.53 visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions, 00:43:55.56\00:43:57.93 principalities or powers 00:43:57.97\00:43:59.67 all things were created through him and for him." 00:43:59.70\00:44:02.94 "And He is before all things and in him all things consist." 00:44:02.97\00:44:09.81 So here we've got-- Now, people will say, "Okay, 00:44:09.84\00:44:14.98 if He was creator why don't we see Him in the Old Testament?" 00:44:15.02\00:44:18.45 We do. 00:44:18.49\00:44:19.89 We do. 00:44:19.92\00:44:21.66 The angel of the Lord 00:44:21.69\00:44:23.73 in the Old Testament, Bible scholars, 00:44:23.76\00:44:26.39 almost all Bible scholars recognize the angel of the Lord 00:44:26.43\00:44:29.53 as the visible God of the Old Testament 00:44:29.56\00:44:32.90 in the person of Jesus Christ. 00:44:32.93\00:44:35.17 Appear to Moses at the burning bush. 00:44:35.20\00:44:37.24 He appeared to Hagar. 00:44:37.27\00:44:38.61 He appeared to Abraham, to Gideon and-- 00:44:38.64\00:44:43.18 He was leading Israel. 00:44:43.21\00:44:44.55 Yeah. The whole time. 00:44:44.58\00:44:45.91 He was distinct from the Father. 00:44:45.95\00:44:48.58 Yes. 00:44:48.62\00:44:49.95 But, the other thing is that after the incarnation, 00:44:49.98\00:44:53.39 the angel of the Lord never appears again. 00:44:53.42\00:44:56.83 So, the Bible scholars conclude 00:44:56.86\00:45:00.63 that the angel of the Lord is Christ. 00:45:00.66\00:45:03.97 And angel just means... Messenger. 00:45:04.00\00:45:06.43 Messenger, so the angel of the Lord was 00:45:06.47\00:45:10.14 the Messiah messenger if you will. 00:45:10.17\00:45:13.11 And, you know, Jesus said that He was Lord that He called 00:45:13.14\00:45:16.01 Himself Lord Savior, Christ, Son of God, Son of Man. 00:45:16.04\00:45:19.98 Yes. So, and we've got to hit. 00:45:20.02\00:45:23.75 You probably got one more but just before were over, 00:45:23.79\00:45:26.25 we've got to hit Daniel 7:13 and 14. 00:45:26.29\00:45:29.16 Oh, mercy. 00:45:29.19\00:45:30.53 You got to. Yes. 00:45:30.56\00:45:31.89 May I? Go head. Sure. 00:45:31.93\00:45:33.26 Okay, I'm on a roll. Yes. 00:45:33.29\00:45:34.63 You are on a roll. 00:45:34.66\00:45:36.00 When he called himself the Son of Man, 00:45:36.03\00:45:39.43 He was the one who united humanity and divinity forever. 00:45:39.47\00:45:44.71 And get this in your mind because the first time 00:45:44.74\00:45:46.98 I realized this, I was just blown away. 00:45:47.01\00:45:48.91 Wow! 00:45:48.94\00:45:50.28 What's the one thing that Jesus gave up forever? 00:45:50.31\00:45:54.48 He took, when He left earth, 00:45:54.52\00:45:56.92 He took this human flesh back with Him... 00:45:56.95\00:45:59.29 That's right. 00:45:59.32\00:46:00.66 To heaven, which means he gave up His omnipresence. 00:46:00.69\00:46:02.99 That's right. 00:46:03.02\00:46:04.36 Because He's now in a human body. 00:46:04.39\00:46:05.73 That's right. This is why He told in John 14. 00:46:05.76\00:46:09.46 This is why He told His followers 00:46:09.50\00:46:14.57 that it is better that I go away. 00:46:14.60\00:46:17.61 Because He couldn't be everywhere at all time. 00:46:17.64\00:46:20.04 And He says, "I will send Allos Parakletos, 00:46:20.08\00:46:22.68 another one who is just like me, exactly like me. 00:46:22.71\00:46:26.01 The Holy Spirit, because he'll be on you then. 00:46:26.05\00:46:29.92 But Christ limited Himself forever. 00:46:29.95\00:46:33.99 Yes, He did. 00:46:34.02\00:46:35.36 Because of us. 00:46:35.39\00:46:36.73 Yes. How amazing. 00:46:36.76\00:46:38.09 So here's the Son of Man and significantly, you know, 00:46:38.13\00:46:42.56 Christ is talking about how the Son of Man will return 00:46:42.60\00:46:46.33 on clouds with majestic glory, great power. 00:46:46.37\00:46:50.44 And God supplies the same emphasis on Christ's humanity 00:46:50.47\00:46:54.24 in Daniel 7:13 and 14. 00:46:54.28\00:46:57.18 And here's what it says. 00:46:57.21\00:46:58.81 "I was watching in the night visions and behold, 00:46:58.85\00:47:01.58 one like this Son of Man, 00:47:01.62\00:47:03.15 coming with the clouds of heaven, 00:47:03.18\00:47:04.92 He came..." 00:47:04.95\00:47:06.79 Okay, Son of Man Jesus. 00:47:06.82\00:47:08.56 "He came to the ancient of days..." 00:47:08.59\00:47:11.66 Referring to the father in this case. 00:47:11.69\00:47:13.73 "And they brought him near before him. 00:47:13.76\00:47:16.73 Then to him was given universal authorities essentially, 00:47:16.77\00:47:22.24 dominion and glory and a kingdom 00:47:22.27\00:47:23.87 that all peoples nations and languages should serve him. 00:47:23.91\00:47:27.08 His dominion is an everlasting dominion, 00:47:27.11\00:47:30.21 which shall not pass away. 00:47:30.25\00:47:31.85 And his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed." 00:47:31.88\00:47:34.35 Hallelujah. Amen. 00:47:34.38\00:47:35.72 Beautiful. Amen. 00:47:35.75\00:47:37.09 Yeah, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. 00:47:37.12\00:47:38.49 Who is the Son of Man? 00:47:38.52\00:47:39.85 The Son of Man is one who came to seek and save that 00:47:39.89\00:47:42.09 which is lost. 00:47:42.12\00:47:43.46 So you got this tie. 00:47:43.49\00:47:44.83 There are so many Old Testament, 00:47:44.86\00:47:46.19 New Testament includes, Moses at the bush, 00:47:46.23\00:47:48.56 who should I tell send me? 00:47:48.60\00:47:49.93 "I' am." 00:47:49.96\00:47:51.30 In the New Testament, who is He? 00:47:51.33\00:47:52.67 So if you go from old to new, old to new, old to new, 00:47:52.70\00:47:57.47 you see what started in the old 00:47:57.51\00:48:00.91 is finished or the exclamation point is put there in the new. 00:48:00.94\00:48:03.95 So the line is fairly easy to follow, 00:48:03.98\00:48:06.95 that we are talking about Jesus in the Old Testament 00:48:06.98\00:48:10.52 as the Shekinah, as the one at the bush, 00:48:10.55\00:48:13.56 as the one who is spoken of there in Daniel 00:48:13.59\00:48:16.59 and He is revealed there in the New-- 00:48:16.62\00:48:17.96 Wrestle with Jacob. 00:48:17.99\00:48:19.39 Precisely, wrestle with Jacob, yes, 00:48:19.43\00:48:21.20 and revealed in the New Testament 00:48:21.23\00:48:22.60 and He says it of Himself. 00:48:22.63\00:48:23.97 Yeah. 00:48:24.00\00:48:25.33 Was it not, was it not both as it were on the mount 00:48:25.37\00:48:27.57 as we really study and look at the original language. 00:48:27.60\00:48:30.14 And when the Ten Commandant law was giving, 00:48:30.17\00:48:33.11 not only was Jesus present, but God was present, 00:48:33.14\00:48:36.61 that would be some good study for somebody to get into. 00:48:36.64\00:48:39.31 Because I tell you, when they, when they land in on the top of 00:48:39.35\00:48:42.18 that mountain, it burned, I mean it was-- there was, 00:48:42.22\00:48:46.12 I mean it was purified before they came down and touched it. 00:48:46.15\00:48:50.03 I mean it was burnt, 00:48:50.06\00:48:51.73 and I think that's really good food for thought 00:48:51.76\00:48:54.86 because they were both together on it. 00:48:54.90\00:48:57.00 Because when we say God's law and what? 00:48:57.03\00:48:59.90 One would have to come, one would come and die, 00:48:59.93\00:49:02.84 because that law was broken. 00:49:02.87\00:49:04.21 Yeah. 00:49:04.24\00:49:05.57 You see and then you mentioned 00:49:05.61\00:49:06.94 the Holy Sprit would be sent you see. 00:49:06.98\00:49:09.28 I mean that's an awesome thought. 00:49:09.31\00:49:10.65 They are sewed together in everything. 00:49:10.68\00:49:12.91 Jesus has life, remember, 00:49:12.95\00:49:14.65 it is un-borrowed, isn't that right? 00:49:14.68\00:49:16.62 He said, quickly, He said-- our time is running out. 00:49:16.65\00:49:21.39 He said that, it was in John 5, it says, which was first, 00:49:21.42\00:49:27.43 was it here 26, 00:49:27.46\00:49:29.20 "For as the Father hath life in himself, 00:49:29.23\00:49:31.87 so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself." 00:49:31.90\00:49:36.44 And then in John 10:17, 18. 00:49:36.47\00:49:40.81 "Therefore doth my Father love me, 00:49:40.84\00:49:42.44 because I lay down my life, 00:49:42.48\00:49:44.18 that I might take it again. 00:49:44.21\00:49:46.78 No man taketh it from me, I lay it down myself. 00:49:46.82\00:49:52.72 I have power to lay it down, 00:49:52.75\00:49:54.12 and I have power to take it again." 00:49:54.16\00:49:57.49 I mean he is making it real clear right then, 00:49:57.53\00:49:59.56 there is no one can take it, I don't have to go to Calvary, 00:49:59.59\00:50:02.76 I don't have to die. 00:50:02.80\00:50:04.27 But because I love you so much, and I want you there with me, 00:50:04.30\00:50:07.64 and I want to share this with you, I'm willing. 00:50:07.67\00:50:09.64 So we use the terminology, "God sent His Son" but really, 00:50:09.67\00:50:14.04 the Son volunteered for the mission. 00:50:14.08\00:50:15.41 Absolutely. 00:50:15.44\00:50:16.78 You know, it wasn't, if he didn't go 00:50:16.81\00:50:18.15 kicking and screaming. 00:50:18.18\00:50:19.51 And one more quick point. 00:50:19.55\00:50:20.88 Pastor, I believe this, I believe 00:50:20.92\00:50:22.25 before Jesus came down. 00:50:22.28\00:50:24.45 He knew every aspect of His life here on earth, 00:50:24.49\00:50:29.19 every heartache, every disappointment, 00:50:29.22\00:50:31.46 what all He would have to go through, the suffering, 00:50:31.49\00:50:34.50 the pain, the sorrow, it's almost too much to talk about. 00:50:34.53\00:50:38.03 He knew that before He came, but what? 00:50:38.07\00:50:42.40 He was willing. His was willing. 00:50:42.44\00:50:43.94 He was still willing to come down for somebody like me, 00:50:43.97\00:50:47.74 that's amazing to me. 00:50:47.78\00:50:49.11 It is. Amazing. 00:50:49.14\00:50:50.81 So if you are wrapping this up, as I said, there are religions, 00:50:50.85\00:50:55.75 there are even Christians, 00:50:55.78\00:50:57.85 who don't accept perhaps Christ as the Son of God. 00:50:57.89\00:51:03.49 You know, they will say, "He was a good prophet. 00:51:03.53\00:51:05.83 Well, He fulfilled all the prophecies. 00:51:05.86\00:51:10.90 He fulfilled every prophecy, 00:51:10.93\00:51:13.20 and He claimed to be the Son of God, 00:51:13.23\00:51:15.40 He claimed to be God, 00:51:15.44\00:51:16.84 He claimed the prerogatives of God. 00:51:16.87\00:51:18.77 So you can't have it both ways, because if He is not God, 00:51:18.81\00:51:23.78 if He is not who he says He is, then He is a liar. 00:51:23.81\00:51:26.21 That's right. 00:51:26.25\00:51:27.58 And He could not be trusted. 00:51:27.62\00:51:28.95 So He can't be our savior, our salvation. 00:51:28.98\00:51:31.65 That's right. 00:51:31.69\00:51:33.02 And you can't believe that He is a prophet, 00:51:33.05\00:51:35.99 if He said these things and He is not. 00:51:36.02\00:51:39.43 So the point is you've got, you know, 00:51:39.46\00:51:41.83 and I know a lot of Muslims, 00:51:41.86\00:51:43.43 who are getting into the word of God studying 00:51:43.47\00:51:45.80 'cause very few of them actually studied the Quran, 00:51:45.83\00:51:47.94 now they are getting into the word of God, 00:51:47.97\00:51:49.67 and they are recognizing Christ as God. 00:51:49.70\00:51:51.04 Praise God. Amen. 00:51:51.07\00:51:53.38 Jesus said, "I' am the way, I' am the truth, 00:51:53.41\00:51:56.48 no man gets home without Me." 00:51:56.51\00:51:59.41 That's right. Got to come through Me. 00:51:59.45\00:52:01.38 And if that is not the truth, 00:52:01.42\00:52:03.45 then we are of all men most miserable and deceived. 00:52:03.49\00:52:07.16 I hear that. 00:52:07.19\00:52:08.52 We gonna go to our news break, 00:52:08.56\00:52:09.89 and couple of things we want to talk to you about, 00:52:09.92\00:52:11.53 then we'll come back, 00:52:11.56\00:52:12.89 put a little bow on this with some closing thoughts. 00:52:12.93\00:52:15.73
