This idea that we need to

so that people will know

little, a little context

that occurred to me.

When I was doing some studying

on the interplay between Christ
and the woman at the well,

and looking at
that particular event,

how Christ would
go around convention

and 700 years of
hostility and ill-will

to try to bring someone
back into, into the full?

Jews as we all know,

had nothing to
do with Samaritans.

And it was not just the dislike,

it was a
distrust and antagonism,

a hatred, a series of evil acts

perpetrated one
against the other.

I mean, Jews went
north and burned down

the Samaritan
temple on Mount Garisan.

And several hundred years later,

I think still hadn't rebuild

so it's a constant
reminder of their hatred.

So the idea is that Jews had
nothing to do with Samaritans.

But Christ in His
love for all people

wanted to heal that

because he
wanted, he wanted unity.

And of course, he is
the leader of a group of men

who are xenophobic,

who are racist, who are elitist,

who didn't like women,
didn't like poor people,

who didn't like Samaritans,
didn't like non-Jews.

You know, the stuff
that he had to wrestle with

to try to bring
unity among that group

was, was immeasurable.

But, but yet his goal
was that they maybe one

like I and my father are one.

And I believe,

when he stood up
and he became prideful.

And he wanted
the worship with God,

he wanted to be like God.

And he had Yiddish, you know,
I will be like the most high.

But the thought
that came to me is,

and I've got to
say this carefully

because sometimes
people get upset with me

when I, I will slip and say,

"Well, the Lord said

you are, prophet?

that the Holy

by the Holy Spirit

and He did so with me one day.

I was offended by
something that someone did

when I was in fulltime
ministry before coming to 3ABN.

There was a man
who was following me

around five different cities.

He claimed to be a prophet.

He kept trying to
takeover the meetings

that I had going in
these five different cities.

And there was, you
know, I became offended
00:11:42.40\00:11:45.60
by something he did,
he was really out there.

And so I am praying one
morning and I'm just like, Lord,

straitening him out
you know, blah, blah, blah.

Suddenly you know
what the Lord said to me?

A still small voice that
Lord impressed upon my mind.

The spirit of offense
is this spirit of pride,

which is the
spirit of antichrist.

Sometime later
He said to me again

the impression

is the spirit of pride.

some disagreement

on the issue of
women's ordination.

Well, people become polarized.

You're either for
or you're against it.

But rather than
studying in this spirit of love,

some people become offended

that someone else
has taken this position.

And therefore
their pride rises up.

Now their antagonistic
toward one another or prejudice.
